ESPNLA Mornings with Keyshawn, LZ and Travis HR 3
Oh, yeah. Yeah. The jerk off has the morning show. They really just came right out of them and loves Keyshawn solid. I don't think he said that when a lot of confidence though he was just kind of selling a regular listener, he stuck it in front of him. So he just rented one of those deals. I disagree. I think he actually called the station on solicited. Now, the love Keyshawn was an outtake. That was good. He's the cuss love him. Yeah, it's good. I felt it. I felt it. All right. So the Lakers go up to Portland last night. Wow, breaking news going on. I didn't know. All right. They kick off the twenty eighteen twenty nine hundred season LeBron James debut. They lose one twenty eight one nineteen. Good night for LeBron though twenty six points. Twelve rebounds six. Assists nine of sixteen from the floor eight of nine from the free throw line. The only negative. I think he look at it zero four from three point range for LeBron and six turnovers and his fourth straight consecutive opening night with a new team that he loses in his career. He is certainly not him is not all on him. He did everything he could do right. But this is a new team in a new situation. There are trying to get to understand each other. I was encouraged watching a game at some point. They had a ten point lead and beginning of the game. He couldn't sustain that obviously. But the closing moments, you still felt like it was about about three minutes there where I felt like, okay, they still got a chance to do this and then Portland drain a few threes that basically. Finished a deal, close the door on it, but it was incurring watch how LeBron the young guys and coups as well as hard as well as Ingram, even drill McGee in Iran with a double double all interacted on the floor in play. Pretty good together out there at times except at three point shooting was they missed fifteen in row, fifteen in a road, start the game like you can't do that. You almost have to try. So if you shoot and fifteen in a role, it warm of they make them, right? Yeah, a lot. I mean, what's the difference between that? And then the game. Remember I told you there was a game I went to do, I would. I'd heard about this. So you set up in Sweden? I watch pregame Dwight Howard hit. Fourteen straight. Free throws just sitting in warm ups and warm is part of the game. Just bam. The I counted fourteen in a row and I gave started this must win two for seven. I mean, it's crazy once the game starts in the lights come on. You guys like that. I'm sure have in terms of different and and afterwards when you guys are in the shower, like a dog in practice, you just give it human, but in practice this, well, we what happened in the game. First of all, I wouldn't talk, nobody show why? How much conversation. I'm not having conversation. Game talk about you just want them weirdos looking enough. Ain't nothing. Many. That we talked about the Lakers long track here to keep it guys check. I go exercise the YMCA. Basically divided up into towel people and not tell people is the locker room, the professional locker room the same way you got your naked guys and your towel. People professional. Mr. Johnson, how are you today? I don't wear the shower. You were definitely a towel in Rhode guard. Would you like to invest? I one hundred percent a towel wrapped around my waist in Tyler. My show retaliate. I was waiting to pretty much everybody was caught, forgotten this hour much. I wasn't a wasn't a hurry up and get in and get out guy. I took my time because I wanted to traffic died down all this. So I waited idea, but there are a lot of dudes you play. I'm all comes off his here we go. It's been job. So teed off at the I didn't take a shower, just put my clothes in. Go get my car and go, right? You're not a public nudity guy. No, I'm not really. You're not my deal just I've never been that guy. Do you have any or out. So with the Lakers go last night, LeBron James obviously always leave him what his job twenty six points. Twelve board. Six. Assists Rondo a double double. But like you mentioned the Lakers were seven for thirty from three. That was backloaded. All that came in the second. It's it's it's mind boggling because if you go back to beginning a year when we first acquired LeBron James, everyone was saying how we need to shooters around the Brown we need and then LeBron magic, rob Pelinka said, that's not what we are building. This team were chasing Golden State, but we're not building this aim to do that. They did say when people would when you ask Pelinka magically. Okay, where's the shooting gonna come from? They'll tell you Casey p coups MMA Rondo better than you think is a shooter was. Up around three thirty percent, which is plenty. Good enough. All that's. They pointed the guys around the Rosman. We're gonna be better than you think at this last night. They were clearly not. But I mean, overall shot. Well, he at three threes was the only one that hit more than one and he was JCP hit. One thing, the only took three, eight, one one. He was wanted to hit one who's Ma between Kouzmin Ingram and LeBron they were one and fifteen. This is not going to get it done. No, no, it's not. It's different. If I'm trading buckets, we're trading buckets and I'm getting one extra thing you did. I'm always be hit right? You shoot to sheet three. We both score guess what the math works itself out. Right? Rush. I'm one up analytics. The math. The other thing. The other thing though is that it's just the, you know, there was some critical turnovers like turnovers, those turnovers miscues based on continuity understanding playing gather getting into a rhythm newness to everybody. That's what those Turner. Ardoz Turner's are lackadaisical and no hustle and not paying attention. Goofball basketball. It's not with the Ron talked about that after the game, take a little bit of time. Just the time passes. Four, I expected coups pop. He rolled without a bios. You know, we talked about those things get better at we write a play late in the game as well. Row turn the ball over. The set will get better with those game on Rondo had a couple. He drove baseline Jovana thought it was going to him going to me knocked the ball out of balance. Those are things that as we all continue to work with one another we're, I'm so I mean, overall, I look at this. I thought. Dennis Green here, that kind of were what we thought they would be where they were great when they were on the run. They were great as a fast break team all day on the first half of forty six points in the paint in the first half seventy for the game, thirty fast-break points all that stuff with great. When they moved, they were great. The defense at times look pretty good, but then they had rebounding problems when they went small. The ball, they give up twelve offense rebound swigging more than fourteen. I go small, you go have rebounding problems if you're trying to get him in the paint, unless they bounce back out to you because it's a a shot that ricochets back to you. You're gonna have rebounding problems when you're small, right, but especially when ball's, not on the floor who's wanted a better rebounding point guards in the league. But the problem was as the game went on and they try to use these able, the Lakers need to be able to go small and they need to be able to do it without getting destroy some of the smoking score right on the offense. I mean shooting because you're replacing defense with offense. A lot of times when you do this, but you got a score, so you're not putting the position to have to worry about getting a rebound who you take their shot and he's go and you're coming back on defense. They're not running up the floor. You're not cross match. Everything is better when when you put the ball in the basket on the other side makes your your good offense. Makes your defense. Good office does make your defense better than the Lakers didn't have great offense. Last night they had okay. Often they were really, really good at the stuff they were good at which is in the open court, Mike goodness that ball got up and down that court quick and it was. I mean, that first half was so much fun to while it was the you see the electric city and excitement from the opposing even Portland children. They were getting a chair when the Brown with dunkers this. This layman brings the ball in the players have twelve seconds stolen. O'Brien breakaway in the first basket of his career. Is that. Crowd to its feet, and there's an answer to a trivia question lebrons first bucket, a spectacular dunk in the motive centre. Here's Lillard coming the other way. Going back and forth here up and down the other one. In the building. First time out pleasers Brian announces his presence for the thirty. Highlights John mess around in choke. I just assumed that was Michael in the background, doing all the analysis and color commentary. Well, he's lights, calm code. They really do need to change the name of that job. Right? Especially since most of them are. They lead the change just just it's two thousand eighteen man out doing this on the Cowboys versus Cal. Your play by play Brian Kaminsky and colored commentator Keyshawn Johnson to easy mistake there. Walk into that. All right. So the Lakers we talk about what went well for them in terms of running and we talked about the shooting, but there was one player key that I looked at that made me really nervous about the rest of the season. I'll tell you who it is next Brian in for Travis. He has been. Family. They need to grow up. That's always one of those moments. Really. We always talk about no judgments. I think I can judge that. All right. Things just for nothing. This national Kentucky day-to-day isn't actually. National. Do you want to. Kentucky is this. Saying whatever it is rising. Emily affair or something. I don't. Is that can't be. National kentucky. It's not something that we do. Don't pointed me like, I'm some sort of Representative of national Kentucky. All of us from the whites together. Each state gets its own day. Sure. Wait till we light it up on national Idaho. All right. This is my cousin. No, never mind. We're all related. The mother of my fifth by sisters. My my son, my youngest just started he, I explain them. One of the kids on his soccer team has two dads since we're explaining like, oh, well, how to me as dads. I explain the whole thing. And so now he's really confused as to who you can marry and who you can't his well, why can't I marry my brother or my cousin. We don't want to do that. And he was coming in. A tough situation in eight. Okay. So Larry Moe jumps in every once in a while, just with the bro. You notice Primo. I know Primo again, I'm I'm a regular listener me Premo. That's right. Go back to the family of fifth and wintertime together. George. So the Lakers last night one twenty eight one nineteen losers in Portland, sixteen straight losses to the blazers. Now for the Lakers LeBron not quite powerful enough despite twenty six points to end that streak I was talking to Sodano in the afternoon. I was sitting on his show and he was asking me about what I wanted things I was looking for in last night's game. And my my thing is I know what LeBron is. I think I know what Ingram is. And second particularly thought it was really good. I, we all know what MS what is. Lonzo lies a young man who's trying to figure out we're his place is in NBA. That's what he is. He's been injured. He missed games last year. I think a lot was put on him when he came in by rob and magic in in basic ranch is great. My records all that that that's in. That's okay. The problem is is he hasn't lived up to the billing based on injury based on injury. Because when he played, he certainly. Play like a established, rookie to say meaning like he could have been on the all rookie team. He could have done some of those things and he played the entire sees. He was terrible last year at one thing. He any kind of shooting free throw shooting finishing at the rim, three points you knew that it's important. Right. Well, you thought it'd be better. He shot the ball better UCLA people thought, but but but I hate when people say a player shot the ball, bettering college, aided. No, that's not true. He wouldn't have been all rookie team. Had he played Donald. If he would've put up twelve eight that might get you on the rookie takes actually swan. You just want to. Iraj you just want to hate on him. Talking when he wasn't healthy, that he was all great, who know when you Joey. Joey on this show when he was healthy, we talked about it. We gave him a c, plus everybody gave him a c. Plus. Would you give him a c. Give him a gave him a b. minus different. I'm bad off. It does look if you bring it home raising and you bring home a minus compared to a c. plus street. Yes, those western. But like Lonzo was terrible at one thing and shoting. No, it's an important thing, but it's also something that distracts from everything else that did a great rebounder played defense at a level. Anybody was expecting the Lakers were significantly better when he was on the court and the the assists were there blocked shots and all those things. The numbers were really good for Lonzo in terms of his impact in the game. He was just terrible at one really important thing that if he can't improve at, it puts a ceiling on how good he can be. Well, Ricky Rubio at that point is nice player, but not what you were hoping for when you take him at number two, it depends on what's around you. See again prior to being interrupted by Rosh when when a guy is taken at number two in his billions so high, that this unrealistic expectations that you're holding him to based on what was said. I hate. When people say, oh, he shot the ball wheel in college. College is different than the pros. You have a different level. You're playing western. You're playing against a seventeen year old kid or you're playing against a third year senior in high school. That's not that good. That's why he's been there forever that the spacing on the floor is different. The pace of the game is different. Then when they get to the pros in a shooting the ball as a -ffective as they may in college. The first thing people say is, well, he's not shoot a ball, will he d bettering college? It's a different game. So why did Mitchell in Tatum and those guys, they didn't get you point to a lot of people in basketball and other sports that do well in college at one thing and not so great with the difference with Lonzo as you go back and you watch the tape a UCLA. He was famous for those long bomb, three pointers where he's two or three feet behind the college line. And some of that is because of that big wind up and all that stuff that he had because it's different. He was stepping back in college because you know he needed that extra space there to make sure you get the shot off because it was weird. And then in the pros now you gotta move back anyway because the line moves back and the close outs are better too quick, Astor stronger. Everybody's. So now he's shooting for the and that's that's a warning sign that makes you wonder if you could do all, he's got a learn to speed up o'clock. He's gotta learn certain things on my own experience, my own experience as a professional football player as the only one on these mics that it played at as fast, how many three points. In college in college. For instance, I would catch a pass. I could stop look at you. Take a picture smile. Chessel the everybody else, right with stop in polls. Whitney in that could take off and go ninety in the pros. Has the ball if I didn't get going stern will be cracked in. That's the different. How long did it take to just Keyshawn stern? Got crack. I just very quickly. I learned that I couldn't do the same things that I did in college. I'm going to the seventeen year old high school senior became a freshman. Eyeballs is as big as cucumbers. Looking at me where I could stand there play winning. We're now got a guy like Troy, Vincent opposite of me, Pro Bowl guy. Soon as I stand their child to shake and bake. I look at Lonzo this year. I'm optimistic. I think he's going to shoot thirty five thirty six percent from three in part because with the Bronner around and now you have Ingram and Rondo and all these bomb. He's going to have more wide open shots that he can stand there and take his time and gather and not have to rush. It's going to be that's going to be his shot. He's gonna play a lot off ball, which I think works for him really well get it, move it, get it, do something, Dr, kick, whatever it is. Feel always feel bad for the player who comes into something with a lot of hype in not given the opportunity to catch up to his hype. I've always full bath at a guy because yes, a lot was put on him, but yet and still we gotta have a little patience in terms of letting his game developed to the NBA level unless unless we can get coli, we can get Dame Lillard and we move hills heartbeat. But in terms of him. Laker. But it turns him becoming a Laker and staying a Laker got to be patient with his development because just half to because in the end, if it went, if I think win pans out, he's he's perfect to sit with LeBron superstar b. Brandon or whatever. Because he's a guy who doesn't need the ball in his hands to have a big impact on a game star to slide in with other stars as rare to find a guy who can have a really positive impact without having to have the ball more. You might look twelve years from now, man, he might be closing on all time, assist leader who every has it. Now, John Stockton, Jason Kidd. He may be closing in on that one day, twelve years for may look up. Go ahead. I'm listening like Joe gore. But you gotta remember, he's a Celtic fan, sees a fan boy UCLA fan. I like Lonzo loves dad. You know that you're on. I come on USC is they turned it around a little bit. They want a couple of games in a row, but this Keyshawn see trouble on the horizon for this weekend. He'll tell you next the SPN Elec let this stuff. Oh. We had a role there for a minute because it just feels good, feels like we actually win a game when they play this. If just feels like we're up twenty one, nothing at halftime or you know, it just feels good. Has mostly been what you've been getting the feeling of. Let's just play the music and watch the games because it's. I don't like that a strong season. It's not a, it hasn't for USC Trojan football. We're talking about here. It hasn't been. Smooth. It's been a lot of turbulence, fasten your seatbelt, you know, Colorado last rates like, you know, get up really big. If here's here. It is, here's the game or s going to roll little bit. And then it just you get uncomfortable something in win. They won the game, but it may. You were uncomfortable as the game went along. There wasn't that easy blow out, the Texas game. You go back there. Oh, look, they're gonna go. Now that's. But I. Like the, they came out after the Stanford game and they come in and they score early against Texas. Didn't matter. Gonna get rolling. No, but I knew I knew that the Texas game was gonna go south just because it's not. It's not a strong. We have the talent, but we're not being for whatever reason. We're not being coached up strong. We're not. We have the same talent is Alabama. Okay. No, you looking at me cross eyed, we have the same talent as state. Well, it certainly that you recruit guys. Exactly. So where recruiting same guys, we have the same damn talent problem is talked about the play calling. The problem is we're not being coached up. We're not getting the most out of the talent. Okay. You can't tell me that Michael Pittman wasn't recruited by everybody country. He can't tell me tight Tyler von, oh, whatever. Homerun Brown mean I'm around Saint Saint. Yes, Saint Bris. So many of them wasn't recruited by everybody country to quarterback the running backs. We keep saying it's redundant. The problem is that just not being coached up of SOS. Okay. So we've, we've laid a lot of that on t. in the play calling defy. I'm not arguing telling you for for those who are up when I'm saying coach step right. I'm not talking about the system. I'm talking about teaching the technique of talking about me and you and I could teach you how to play defensive back the way you're supposed to play it within this system. That's what I'm talking about all Klay thing. No, it's a position thing because Claes the head coach, he's handling everything else and he's supposed to get his assistant to coach the players correctly clay as one of the head coaches that I love, but also dislike their style because he's loyal to a fault. That was my next question. When you good a good football coach who doesn't hire the right people under him or won't get rid of exactly exactly. Both. You don't hire the right people and then when you know that they're not the right people, you don't want to get rid of him because you, you're just a lawyer. You're cool deal. You loyal. In a note that so it becomes the complacent situation for coach coach knows that I'm not going to get fired or the Heat's not on me, so he doesn't do anything extra to make it better. How do you fix that? You fire do? No. But how do you do not have Clair's not gonna fire his defensive backs coach. Fire clay clay gotta go. If you can't make wholesale changes to your staff, the probably not good for the job. I don't care what anybody says. You'd call me whatever you wanna call them. You can be mad at me. I don't care. It's on the staff is not on clay. He has to do a better job at hiring those guys that can teach these guys how to play football. When a guy is defending a guy and he's wrong or Ming a pass play, which means it steady sticking out his right arm depending on where the ball is located. He sticks out his left form that's wrong woman play. But if you're being taught that you're supposed to stick out the other arm versus this, or you're being taught that when you're running a shallow cross underneath in your coming across the backside tackle guard spot in its zone defense that you're supposed to settle down, turn your shows is quarterback, give the quarterback at target oppose that continue to keep running a run into the other side where. Run back into knock you out. That's not teaching. So you gotta teach dudes when people talk in the criticism, not just a clay, but generally speaking, this guy is a coordinator is not a head coach. And you've heard that about clubby here that about head coaches of the NFL. How much of what you're talking about there is part of that. It's not you. You don't know, football, you don't know. You can't manage a clock. Can't do all the. It's the management of the stuff. It's the management of the system underneath you that they're talking about when they say that it's it's, it's all of that. It's it's now four fin one in. I'm on my own. It's four for one and I'm on. I'm on thirty two your line going in and we're down by four, and I think he can make the key, but our percentage is better and we've done this going for it on four down. But you know, we do we elect to punt instead that's bad management. That's. Not knowing how to coach a team, so you could say, okay, my defense is playing great. So we're gonna try to go for no fourth now because my defense has shed him out the last seven series. So we're going to be okay, I feel strong about my defense. I got all that. You know what you said? No, we're gonna kick the field, go the eagle miss. Now, all the team's morale is down now that's bad coaching, not knowing when do certain things they against. She's which the Seattle, gay, right. Let's go for it. We're on our own whatever. They've been marching up and down the field. We might lose his game. We don't get. We got two feet, we gotta get. Go get it. Let's go get. Even if they didn't get it. They turn a ball back over to Seattle. The morale of the team is not down. They felt like you gave us an opportune. Now we owe you an out of defense comes out in the field you up. Now we owe you. We're gonna pick it back. So this weekend, Utah. One foot in one foot out. Four and two. They still have yellow only Pac, twelve losses Stanford, right? I'm not missing anything. No 'pacta Los Stanford, and that's it. We beat UNLV. We lost Stafford. We lost the Texas. We beat Washington state. We beat Arizona's a Uber still. If you're if you're still consider on in conference, we're still. We're just in conference. We just care about. We're at that level again, Rose Bowl. This is not two thousand nineteen ninety can't. They're not playing for national title, but I guess the constellation prize is going to January first bowl who, but in the l. passable, this is not El Paso. I'm not happy joke. But but the problem is we're not at a point where we should be settling on trying to get into the Rose Bowl. We're not at a point art art team shouldn't be at a point where they're figuring out how to get it should be boom or bust. That's what it should be. All right. Now, on that scale, there busting their totally busting, but that's where US's football program should be. I know you say, well, you're delusional. They hadn't been that way since p Carol. Okay, that's fine. US's is a legacy. They shouldn't excuses about where a probation. There's no more excuses. Limitations scholarships, stop the nonsense. They play Utah in Utah. Last time they was there. They lost a tough. I got him losing. I got him losing. I gotta move on a Saturday night. You know, again, it's going to be a little missed any air cold. The crowd will be jacked up is the biggest game and Utah's history of the program ego, get all those narratives at the end today, the coaching staff has to do a better job coaching. These young men up to get them to play lights out. I agree with you. I don't think they're winning this one to the dodgers have to cracks. Bruce to get themselves into the World Series, but do they really have to cracks? We'll talk about that next Brian in for Travis ESPN happy birthday to NASCAR, Tom petty. He'd sixty eight years. He would have been, you got the time. Richard petty, right. Happy birthday, Tom petty. He would have been sixty eight years old. If he was with us today or driving race cars as all Teddy's good. His birthday would be brought to you by Jaguar, Land Rover, Newport Beach Eighty-one. By the way, he still with us towards the sea, visit Land Rover, Newport Beach dot com. Live with land area on for the rest of the NBA. Because I just assume the NASCAR dude, and I heard the music, I'm thinking, okay, I didn't even let it breathe. You know, I thought you were go because like you. Oh, this is the one guy, Brian will. No, no, I thought it was music. I was like, I figured it was music from like NASCAR or something. Southern rocker, but laugh at me like I'm really supposed to be like, nothing at you were laughing with, you know, your key. I was laughing at your. I know you were because it was funny, but you know who he is, Tom petty. Richard petty. Both? Yes. Okay. One. I'm petty out. Yelling all the Petty's. Yeah, no related. Because one, you know, one was guitar and he was going to say, mama one, do NASCAR, like not as dangerous guitar. And so then Tom petty who are listening now he went on to become a rockstar, and yet when just reason, racecars laughing up, Dan googling, just in what would the rate today he's still alive. They could be related. Exactly. Yes. It's nuts. Chucky day. Oh, is so stupid? Adam petty married a distant grandmother of Tom petty. They might be eighth cousins through his fifth grade, John petty, and Rebecca SIMS in Kentucky. It is national Kentucky. So key might be right. They might be distantly related. According to a little. I really. Dave Roberts wants the dodgers to get it done tonight. Here's why you know in history with baseball game seven, anything happened, you know. So it's all hands on deck. So right now those guys plan for their lives. But I know our guys are plan for our lives as well. Understand that we do have a little margin, but we want to win them on. I, you really don't have any margin because his either winner go home for the dodgers treat it like a game. Seven. Yeah, you need a winner, go home. So there's no margin. I think the skippers completely off base on that one. No of he's basically, I mean, is point was no, but I don't take his point speaking. He knows they have another game, but don't treat that waking. You don't have another game because if you go out there and you bomb the night, it's over well, no, it's not over. You're going to lose game, seven. So right now tonight at five PM you need to win. The game needs to be over. You need to when it's over. You need to be champagne in enjoying. Getting ready to go, but you wait a minute for so you can't go into the game with that because then if you lose then you'll, I will screw while only bother show. No, no, you could say it that way, but the chances of that pressure coming to you for game seven. It's going to be high. So you better close out tonight? I don't wanna hear you telling me we got a little margin air. No, I don't wanna hear that. None. No, you have. I understand that finish the deal, finish the deal. Don't take it lightly. No surprise. There will be no, yes. Monte GRANDE all tonight at Austin Barnes be behind the plate. I just think that, you know, we have two very good options in us money and awesome, but I just think right now. Awesome behind the play in the baddest Brock's. I think he's really in a good place right now, and I just something with my gut just kind of feels I want to go with Austin in game six. Ios money. Question again, you know, the answer period. Other catcher literally cannot catch something with. My gut tells me that's just a, that's that's a guy being nice. Yeah, polite look, man. He's doing the job of the skipper which is to manage the team, put the guys in the best position as succeed. He understands ios Monica. Dahl is not the answer. No. So not any question you want to ask? I is just not. He's not the guy. I just look at this game tonight and I like where the dodgers I don't. I'm not a big momentum guy in the playoffs. I think there's too much time in between games starting pitchers. We talk about this in every sport. They've got all the momentum. They win a big game five. Then to begin I don't think any of that exists. But I do think there's something to the dodgers the way they won game four. And then they turn around and win game five where they got some runs without doing it the dodge ary kind of way this year where everybody can relax, they show okay, we can score some runs. We can get a hit now and again, and now. You don't go up to the plate feeling the only way we're going to get home run now they can go runs. I think they will. I think they'll hit two or three today because they're not thinking about it and they were clearly as a team. They were all thinking about all of it. They were pressing the each player that line that was trying to fix the problem themselves in when you look at when you look at the dodgers as a whole, they haven't hit a home run since just interna hit won several games ago, but they've been able to do something I've been talking about for a long time here and we kind of joke with it. They've been able to manufacture runs. They've been able to put people on base. They've even try bunting guys over. They've stolen a base. I mean, they're getting singles, they're hitting line drives down a line extra-base hits. That's to me what baseball is opposed to every time you walk up to the plate, you're trying to hit a home run and it's either home run or strike out. You can't play that way, especially when it comes to the postseason. Because as Rosh has a stupidly share with me, a multiple occasions is that the fastball beats Tabet in the postseason well, especially what we will walk at least in theory, their bullpen has been more vulnerable in the dodgers dodgers three, three runs in twenty one innings. The bullpen has been nails, but the the Milwaukee bullpen. In theory, that's what they're doing to bring in hater. They've got connubial all these guys hater. It looks like that guy to like with the hair in the way. He doesn't like black people. Yeah, he looks like what he did. It makes that I hate to be a stereo. I what. I like that. If there's ever a day where we can stereotype people, isn't it national Kentucky? Isn't that the day to do it involved in this? Why you. No, but he just looks like kind of does like a problem. Yeah. Like him. I don't like you don't like it, but to your point, though key like it is hard to this is why small is hard in the playoffs because you can't. It's difficult string, two or three or four hits together against Josh ater like, yeah. Say what you want, but see thing that like to me if I was coaching out, apply so much pressure, I would be scared to take chances. Like if I get a guy on base, that's a runner. I'm gonna try to spooky mole still in, you know what? That long delivery. They're fast wind up, takes all date. Any that that point I'm gonna get my lead on my guy whether with us a KiKi, whoever could get the stolen base. I'm gonna put that pressure. I'm gonna take those two. What do you do if you play one way for one hundred seventy games starting Travis. You can't do you play one way. You'll just start doing the other way. Again, they been playing baseball for twenty some years man. When the last time Justin Turner, sacrifice bunt was. Tweak doing spring practice. Okay. That was a long time ago. Do anything you go? Hunting is hard. You don't need to do it all the time, but against live pitching in the. Yes, you do you doing these hard? Go down in the dugout down in batting cage in warm up button because we all need one. Just that simple. You don't be able to do everything you shouldn't be party. I mean for one key is right in that part like they're facing a shift. So as professional major league baseball knowledge dog, I can't go the other way. I'm not going on. Like the professionals doing less and less and less as a profession camp can't go the other way. I do just swing why. There's a reason they put the guys over there is because they know you're not if you're not hitting coach it differently because if you didn't have they're not. These guys aren't Tony Gwynn. It's not about me at Tony Gwynn. He could be say, I don't care when you're coaching. Somebody coach something different because you gotta get to it. It's will do it. The reason that hitting against the just poking the ball through a now agree with you. There are some guys who see a shift and they say out of pride, I'm not just going just I'm going to be what they're doing me. I'm going to do my thing. That guy, one hundred percent agree with you, stop that. If you can hit the ball through the whole against whatever they just don't get basic man. That's just stupid. The other, it's two things. It's the shift. They put the guys over based on your tendencies and then what they throw you when they move all the players over one, they gave you the pitch, take the other way. So. What if you can do, they not gonna give you the pitch. So the pitch that they get you start understanding what that is take it that way. But there are a lot of guys who I'm telling you, they just can't. They don't like the ability to inside out a swing and get it over there on purpose. They just case like in basketball, they let a guy first thing and who've seen is big hoop. Got, they'll tell you somebody all somebody can do is go to the right. He's right hand to guy can ever go to the left. He can't go to left. Okay. Start going to laugh and give them something that they don't expect. They give it to you. They let you penetrate to the left. They let you do what you wanna do take it. Don't just force yourself to the right, just because that's the only thing you've done for the last ten years. I what's really interesting to me. I thought this was when the brewers did that thing with Miley, pull the food, they self because what it Roberts do like I took Friso not this one. Not initially didn't start playing the match up thing and whatever. Oh, yeah, he just kept everything the saying, yeah, some people think that Roberts kind of knew what they were going to do. I'm not sure about that. I don't think so. I think they just, I don't know. I just think they decided to stop chasing the ups all the time to not make every single move from inning one based on the computer as a skipper. He switched up what he had been doing for so long because that was the who's falling into Milwaukee's trap, I think of, oh, wait. Well, now jock is gonna come out of the game in the second inning because we've got the lefty. Righty matchup and all that. And so by playing all these bullpen guys, Craig councils getting Dave Roberts to start burning his depth and start managing different and use up one of their strengths, which is all of these guys. They can put out on the field in inning, five, six, seven, eight, nine when you really get into these higher leverage places. And so I like that Robert stop chasing. That's like, that's like the to me the end of the analytics where you say, wait a minute, it's not were. Worth it to play the numbers. So I'm hoping that that continues tonight because you know councils can do the same thing where it's like, here's this dangling little thing like for you and your math people to play. But I want I want David freeze out of the lineup, or I want jock Petersen outta line up. I wanna see this guy in the eighth inning because you can't make a substitution anymore because I got you to do it in the second. They shouldn't. They shouldn't do that though. I agree with you. They shouldn't play that game, but let them play it. We'll win again where I wanted Boston. Or moving on to Boston? Yeah. So what are you? What? What, what just tell them to keep going. Okay. That's fine. What is this? Okay. This part, I know, but thank you. I'm gonna know to do at the top of the hour. Totally. I say this. I did not remember that you stay over on the top of the hour in the second, the cross it by know what to do on a radio station when you get the top of the hour and what to say and I know y'all do like your stick. So not has his own show leaves. On the on the round the horn horn later on today or this morning, we should all be like George Sodano well on Sunday. Chief, the professional success did Roddy Roddy. He's fourth quarter, George. Backup. Say, get me started. All right. Well, do you want to kill time for a minute on. Kill time. What about pay? Seven? What are we doing? What are we saying here? Key Ryu versus Miley who wins tonight the dodgers fool chew, man. Why would you ask me that? Because we had a minute gonna win, dodgers going to win six, two. I don't think I agree with you too. Okay, bye. They gotta get three in the third, and then we're going to split them up over the rest of the if the game. Now he plays small ball. We're going deep tonight. Again, Dungs we're going to, we're going to, we're going to struggle struggle, but we're going to get a dengue with two one in the third, that's three run home run and that of the Machado that'll get it done. We'll get another call the Boolean. We'll get a, then we'll get a, then we'll get a solo shot from Cody. Finally, in will manufacture the last two okay. Quickly, Brian. I need a shower seven to one. I'm very confident with the dodgers tonight. Why would you need the shower? You listen to k SPN Los Angeles. Listen, the case meals. Shower because there was a lot of double entendre. Do you know what time it is. Tita pulled back the pigskin. Goes around it all for a football Friday. Not that I necessarily expect you to do, but I'm telling you if you run it back there, you're a little dirty. All right. A lot of big games this weekend, starting with the Rams they were supposed to be the Sunday night game with the forty Niners kind of suck. So that went away back into the afternoon flex back into the afternoon. They did it early enough so that the Rams as well as the footing honest can make the necessary jesmyn to an earlier game ramp should win this game. I don't think they'll win it on the ten and a half point spread that was put out the other day. A lot in in the forty Niners actually played a week ago better than what most people thought CJ Beth is not as bad, but he's not Jimmy Garoppolo the hundred million quarterback. They're missing him. They're missing some other key components on the offense. Side of the ball, the Rams Mississippi's in a secondary. Although the forty Niners ofensive Lee is not as explosive as you'd have thought they're still struggling near the Rams defensively, the front. Seven finally have one of those big giant monster games that we all been expecting. Although they played solid in the fourth quarter and pretty sale. They haven't had. That explosive five sec type game they would, and they. And they stepped up when they've needed to be good. At the end of a lot of games with the part I can't figure out is is like CJ better than we think or is Green Bay not as good as we thought. I think it's Green Bay is not as good as you thought. Nothing CJ Beth is better than what you went -ticipant it, but not good enough to beat the Rams because you kind of because the expectations were just like Nathan Peterman low. That's like you planned quarterback. Nathan Peterman not much. It's give it. It's not as. Better though. Arm, maybe his dog. Durkee Anderson is gonna start for them because. How bad he is. That is terrible. I don't even understand how he has a job in the NFL, but that's a whole nother story politics on that chargers. With that noted home field advantage at the stubhub center, they take on the titans four and two chargers. Do they get the five knows this one? Wait a minute, whether London isn't it, read the rundown. I'm reading the schedule. Where's the game at. It's nine thirty in the morning. Can't be stub. Yeah, London. So it's London. I was right accept of the part when I said the home field advantage before who wins, wait, who are we in London charges. Charges are going to win. There's more people in London in Tennessee. This is the first home game. The charges played since they moved that way. They gotta go to London for it. No, I think we'd honesty no matter who's traveling across over to the pond London, London chargers will be winning this football game over the Tennessee titans charges be to tighten London's because when you look at Marcus mariota his style of play where he is in his career, I don't see it as argument. James winces mariota who's better. I think both of them are awful in terms of where their teams are right now. They're not playing inspire football mariota cycle eleven times last week. Figured out eleven times last week, the charges or on paste to Kansas City Chiefs there, one game behind them. Obviously they're playing good leeann. They got the field goal situation squared away. They could make PAT's field goals. Now, the running game is solid defense plan. Although Nick, Nick, bolsa, Nichols brother, joy is not in the lineup, but the defense is still pretty solid and Sal, Philip rivers, oh, head is playing terrific football right now, the it'll come down to Kansas City in San San Diego LA. They got like thousand names, LA chargers, just one. The LA chargers for this division was great. It's a six thirty local time start, and it's going to be no less viewed than it would be if it started one. Yeah, nobody cares. You even know they were going. Nobody haven't even promoted premier NFC game this week. Probably the Cowboys versus the Redskins for control a very ordinary NFC. East Cowboys should win this football game. Their defense is pretty good. I don't like I don't. I don't really care too much for the Redskins offense. It's not as close to what Alex Smith coming over Utah that he was replacing Kirk cousins. That was a big to do. It hasn't been that way. I think that when you look at them, they've been up and down. Unlike the Cowboys Cowboys have been up and down, but you know exactly what you're getting for. You're gonna get a so-so Dak Prescott you're going to get a policy Keough Ellie when it block it for your not going to get help on the perimeter at the y. c. position. But the defense is gonna play outstanding. And they've been doing that pretty much all year long in terms of helping them win football game Cowboys. And I see a team that we give them too much credit when something goes. Right? They get one good game out of Dak. They get a good performance out of Zekiye Elliot and miss something good happens and really Dallas, good. But that is a really ordinary team. It's been an RA near team for quite a while and they're going to continue to be near, but then an ordinary division in, they're going to win their division possibly less. The Philadelphia Eagles decide to step up to the plate Vikabulin division Rosh is going to potentially jump out of the window hit. I would warrant. Well, I honestly went for and twelve. I want a new coach and I want to, I don't know if they fire jas, Jason, Kidd fire toast. We have anything less than ESI championship game is getting fired, getting fired. Not make the play. I'm just telling you anything less than he's getting. You mentioned the eagles. They got the Panthers at home. This eagles are team that everybody's been waiting for to kind of become the Super Bowl team that they were last year. Three and three hasn't happened yet. Does it happen this week? Look, here's what I will say about the Super Bowl team. They hit at the right time. They're not a, they're not the Rams. So to say they hit at the right time with Nick foles. Anytime you lose coursing winces and you're not supposed to take Nick foles win. The Super Bowl doesn't happen like that, but they did. It is so everybody because it they felt like, oh my God, this is the team. They're going to be great for years to come. It's not true. It's not true what the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams are different type of team, the Rams of such that they're going to continue to just keep building. Do you guys on Philadelphia's offense that would not start on the Rams at all? That starts in Philadelphia. So when you let it down j either the wide receiver course. It's not even close the Carolina Panthers rolling Cam Newton who lost a week ago and they have an opportunity to stay in hunt with the New Orleans Saints within that division in, they're certainly going to go to Philadelphia, which is tough place to play. Carson Wentz third game under his belt. Now, coming back says, ACL surgery after they watched the Nick foles kind of, you know, bring Malone slowly game in a game out. Then they finally got tired of watching that rush. Carson wins back. He should have things under his feet now, and he should play a lot better than he did the last couple of weeks. All right. So you mentioned the saints. That's the other game that I think is really interesting. When you talk about the contenders in the NFC saints are really good team. I think we all agree on that they're going to Baltimore Baltimore's given up seventy seven points in six games. Yes, that is not many, no, not many at all. So look at the flip side at look at the offense, a side of the ball for the New Orleans Saints with the leading wide receiver may I name him Michael, Thomas Ottawa, AllState product of southern California. And he the rest of the offense. Kamara have an Ingram back in that running game is portable. You could take that running game of the New Orleans Saints anywhere and get something established defensively. They're getting a little bit better which I trust their defense against Joe flacco on offense. That was just a key. The offense aside a ball for the Baltimore. Ravens is not the same as a defense aside the defense aside, obviously, as you pointed out given seventy points, but they're facing a high octane offense in the New Orleans Saints. So it's going to be a long difficult task for them to hold New Orleans under their average. This is when a great offense defense really how many points do the defense is great. Their defense is good that they're playing there look, great, so bad don't buy. Let's just say for a minute they they are. Let's say they're the best defense in the NFC, whatever you want me to lie go, you find, yes, for a couple of seconds defensively who's better than them in the AFC defensively. Just as unit, go ahead. That doesn't matter. But two keys point though certificate was better. That doesn't mean that great. But how many points does New Orleans need to score before you get to that part where Baltimore's offense isn't that good? Is one of those deals where if New Orleans gets the twenty, do they win the game New Orleans, the score of a twenty four in that's gonna win, twenty four. They went by. S. they'll win by at least six points. That's pretty good. Yeah. So. But I'm gonna guess outdoors going to Baltimore, got to be careful with that and weather and all this sort of stuff does. He could get tricky, does Brock Osweiler into games in a row. Do we live in a world where Brock Osweiler wins two games in a row for the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions coming into another team. The Rams will see later. I mean, he may. He may. I mean, who knows not? I mean, he's not. He's not good. He's not bad. He's not. I mean, he's just there. He's just bringing them alone. Miami's one of those teams that they're gonna just keep stacking wins on top of each other. And before the end of the year, you go look up. They're gonna be Levin and five. He was sitting there going, how did that happen? How did that happen to quarterbacks and nobody really respects Tena hill? And then Brock Osweiler nice to see mix it off. Last one for you. The bears hosting the patriots cares. I wonder if we've achieved. Bears at this point? No, no, you haven't. They're still in the ticket things within the division, but they got a tough coma is Mitch Trubisky against Bill Belichick, stop it. I mean, it's not even he's getting ready to be. He's getting ready to get woke as they say he's going is a whole 'nother thing. Get ready to happen to him when he faces a guy like that. Bela check basically made a live in and makes a living on young quarterbacks that have, you know, very little experience at plan on Sundays. He makes living taken advantage of those guys. Even in Chicago, it's the same Chicago to north e. What's the difference? The weather still be the home crowd. It's easier for Trubisky to do it there. Then it would be New England. Andy matter to him defensively they not Khalil Mack is is that's what Bill Belichick said. What he said about Khalil Mack this year. I mean this week this past week that is not even close. Why would you even mention Lawrence Taylor Khalil Mack? In the same breath, it's not even. Close because he knows that he has a scheme to take him out Khalil Mack o'hara's worst game of the season. This game, he'll have his worse because they're going to do everything in their power to neutralize him. So you're not taking the bears. What the bears are now we need to know what are you talking about that there's gonna win a pig. The s today. I don't remember what. Now I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna change my mind, whatever I have on the list. Bit. Again, he likes bears. They're the bear went over. I'm not. I'm not going down that bear stuff not here and I'm not doing. Elsie.
