"In the end, Jose rizal was still a wonderful choice for the first U.S. naval vessel named for someone of Asian descent. Before we talk about the long-lasting impact of Filipinos in the navy and the USS legacy, we wanted to also mention a few more fun facts about Jose rizal. His impact went way beyond writing and politics. He actually discovered three animal species that were named after him. Draco risali, which is a small lizard known as a flying dragon, a pagan risali, which is a very rare kind of beetle with 5 horns and rack of forest risali, which is a peculiar frog species. And there are also at least 5 other species of animals that were discovered in the Philippines and dedicated to his memory, a type of mosquito known as itis risali, a sea snail known as conus rozali, a spider known as hagner razali, a mite known as kalayaan rozali and a beetle known as spatha melis razali. Same in the hardest one for last. Oh gosh, yeah. A Filipino Americans have continued to be an important part of the U.S. Navy, although initially assigned as stewards for decades, many of them ended up in key roles throughout military history. By 1946, the Philippines gained their independence and had worked out an agreement to supply up to 1000 Filipino recruits per year to the U.S. Navy. By 1954, the U.S. government had increased the number to up to 2000 Filipino recruits per year. By 1972, Filipinos were given a qualification test to be eligible for 5 different roles so that they weren't always relegated to stewards. Many are now in leadership positions and have served with distinction. Can we talk about how long that took? Yeah, I know. You're stewards. You know, for, oh my gosh, I mean, 1901. So we're talking 71 years of being relegated to being a steward at first. Yeah. And clearly doing good enough work, right? And being valuable enough for the government to keep upping the quota of how many Filipinos they allowed in the military, which I mean. Well, and one other thing that we don't we haven't really mentioned here, we mentioned it in a previous episode, but Filipinos weren't even eligible for citizenship. Until World War II, 1940 something. I don't remember the exact date. It might have been 46. They weren't even allowed to be citizens. And so, you know, they're still joining the U.S. Military, the U.S. Navy in huge numbers. Because they felt that was the right thing to do, and also because they believed in the U.S..

"Rate was a top five mark among. qb's last season. okay. Sixteen point five percent uncatchable. That doesn't like out of all the ballsy through less than twenty percent of them. Boy catchable which tells you what that more than a percent or we he puts the ball where it needs to go guys. He puts it where it needs to go in a what. You can't be mad. But he took the name he runs. He does it all. he's that guy. Very impressive on may number three would should be number two only becoming. It's a debate. it's a debate. It could go a lot of different ways. But as the cleveland browns man. Hold cleveland browns. They have come so far remember when they couldn't win a game. Ninety have baker mayfield eighty five point seven niche of eight point three cream hood. Seventy four point four odeal bickham junior seventy five point. Three jarvis landry eighty four point. Seven rashad Three point four bro. The best offensive line right. Tackle jake Conkland with eighty four right guard. Why taylor what ninety two point three sinner. jc cheddar with eighty one. Joel benito at eighty five and left tackle Judge eric willis would sixty two best the line by far. Everybody knows it already. Now with the pro football fuller's rating even shows even more like do their number one in blocking for running and passing. Esus crazy okay. Moving onto desirable devdas rely incorporates miles gear with eighty six point five which again despite nagy's he should have released at ninety. That's wrong david. Clinton has a seventy four point nine. That's another reason why should be david. Klein is there kamanga. Maliki jackson sixty four point seven sixty nine point. Three coming from andrew billings. that's their lineup. But at linebacker the coming in with the rookie jeremiah. Awa- su Komala would have seventy nine point seven as good look there. And then they're db's quarterbacks in safeties in order dinsdale war would seventy point five grid newsome the second would say nine point eight choi here with a six point. Nine john johnson. The third eighty five point. Three ronnie here is during your seventy six point six in the rookie that opted out last year but is here to start for them. Possibly a safety grant delete as sixty six point three. I look man. I just i guess the only reason they are not in the top two because they didn't go to super bowl but they didn't have all that so it makes sense. 'cause the top two are two guys that want to bowl and i mean i'll just spoil the number one because i won't i won't spoil it. I'll just go ahead and say number. Two kency cheese candidate cheese have obviously elite quarterback patrick mahomes and hang one point eight to have very very very very good receiver to rick hill at a four point five elite tied in tribes cozy ninety three point. Eight okay off. It's of line better now. Definitely better orlando brown helping him out with seventy seven point eight joe. Cooney her mouth. Seventy four point. Two razali eighty fifty nine point. Seven seventy one okay. Let me not disrespect meco hartman. Sixty eight point three. I think he should be in the seventies. At least though cloud which lil cloud at to seventy seven point two you goes at outsider ball. Criminals been doing stay. He's an elite de interior defensive lineman with his ninety point three. We'll deserve at thank every month. So reserved higher should be given to jarran reed though with fifty six point. Five and frank clark would or fifty four point three. Wow they dave in taco charleston. A fifty one point six. I guess they're saying these guys. Don't get back to the quarterback and he hitchens and willie gay Sin- forty nine sixty eight and then when you get to secondary you expect to see some high numbers at least from tire matthew as safety. But he's only having a sixty seven again. I don't know. I apologize to the public. Matcher whose job this was a dean gallagher. Snee- of back there were shaun. Fenton and daniel sourcing That's eight one. Thornhill on the did but yet these are the guys that make up a team that is known for winning and getting it done when it's time to get it done. Forget this brea guys. They get the games that they need to get to get it done. It made it to the super bowl. Okay because don't be surprised if you see them go all away to all right the making them move. We'll we'll see them. You know for years to come. As long as patrick mahomes back there twiddling his thumbs i guess right now obviously. The number one team is a team that wins the super bowl in does something that no other team does brings all of them back. Bring all the players office defense special teams back. It's unheard of my goodness how they get away with this. I'll tell you got elite. Tom brady with a ninety three point. Three okay the should be so a good coach elite receiver rating. But he doesn't because he definitely deserves it. In a mike evans would have seventy four point. Nine chris cowan has seventy six. Antonio brown has eighty two point two. She's i don't know how to do these numbers going. Based off of the last season. A grunk at seventy point nine. Oj howard fifty. Four point seven for the year before last offensive line is eighty four sixty seven sixty three eighty. Seventy two gets a different side of the ball. Which is what really helped win this championship for these guys. Well i of course debris fake but dominant sue coming back again. Sixty two point four rating of eighty nine point nine okay. Shack beard has a seventy four point seven. Jp sixty six point three in levante david coming in linebacker would have seventy eight point. Eight in in devon white forty eight point one again. now that i'm going away rains at this point But yeah just looking at. I'm sorry we just really got just voted rains at just at this point clearly after we made it number one. I now don't want to even talk about ratings anymore. Let's just look at the roster's man defensive side for the tampa. bay buccaneers. sue the berry pierre. Paul vaughan david devon white called. Davis are sean murphy. Antonio winfield enjoyed the whitehead very good cast of characters. Apparently you're lacking a little bit of running back you know. Linda for nate has always been cool but he hasn't been that guy's rate rated six point five but like i said with amazing but yeah that's a lot of man that's what it looks like. That's where they stand and that's my show lays german. I appreciate you guys tuning in. Thank you for taking time to listed. This one is lower than usual. I apologize so much information sony names. "You know what i mean like. It really is stressful job. Because i'm in new town. I don't speak anything. I got dropped off. I got a whip. I got an apartment. And i got eight o'clock as my directions and you're left to figure all there's no infrastructure like on an nba team. They're helping you get where you need to go and organizing shit for you. That's like grown man. Shit sure want. I want to ask you because i came up really early. Similar what you're talking about. When i came out of the cba there were guys like you talked about the kind that was playing in front of you You know and then you split the minutes when he came back and i'm sure you were playing against friends. Did you find. I want you to be on what you to keep it a buck because a lot of my good friends have always cool with the call up that i got but there were some dues that i lost like as people that i thought were my friends because we're all vying for the same thing and they couldn't find joy in the fact that like i got to call. Can you dig it. And i i would admit that there's luck involved in that right but did you find that at all. Did you find there. Was anybody looking at your of side. Because you've got a call from usa. Our from the first year in my first year player is being managed with perfect basketball situation. Like i like all of my teammates. marco That was perfect and in the second year. When i went to camp enact came back down we had a totally different team. And i was one of two returners and i think every single player except for maybe one or two hat in experience in so you can feel the tension you can see it you can feel it but also bigger was because a lot of those guys chain and felt like they were the guy and rightfully so they were very talented players. You know had a lot of experience. But i felt like i was the guy like i just came down from camp. I knew i didn't know but without it being sad or confirmed by anyone on knew that was the next guy lines. Get a call up or get an opportunity in so i fit everything g gonna stay once you know in so i can feel the tension but shore man after left. The team are than coveted happening. So there wasn't much time for any development of any conversation already back and forth just kind of split after cove it. But when i was there i felt. I felt the tension for sure how. What's it like planet Planet the crib. Because i know. I on a very smaller level. I got no how covering the team and being on television back home. It's a different feeling when you when you when you do that But as an nba player playing at home. Like right there and we all know your story. what's that like. It's it's a lot of fun man. i enjoy it. I spent time playing out of the country in my family. Couldn't really come play too often in all of that. So it's cool to see him in a stands is cool to you know where the open jersey in represent the city down from all. That stuff is fun man. I i get to hang out in Have money where at where live at like before. I was like making money in mexico or in spain and venezuela this just you don't get to enjoy your money too much like while you're playing yu-gi-oh san razali. It just ain't the same here. I can go out to eat with my family. My friends go shopping with them. We can go down to the beach on all days. We go hang out. An email is just feel like i'm not working. You know what. I'm saying like any work for me because basketball is basketball for me. That is never to be worked. But then the fact that. I'm able to do everything that i've always been able to do my whole life. I hang out with my family. Go back to the east. Go get tacos at the taco truck like you. Don't get that everywhere so it just feels like it feels like destiny bro. Feels like this was all just pre written for what's the best taco truck into town as i'm putting you on the spot man best taco trucks. Our i get tacos. O'day in a truck. I was not or do you go. I get my tacos from lock. Gosta a real good seafood there. So i go there but i. I go somewhere different for everything somewhere different for burrito somewhere different for steak fries. A savvy j. tacos payment man. Okay show twenty-second a lot. Though one was in high school in back in the day but bank thing they his hollywood now they gonna fan some people in a lot of people but hey man come from mexico like it's better tacos out there truck you sound. It's interesting because i never got to play. The crib is one of the you know it. It's it's something that i wish i would have been able to do Some people say there's some pressure associated with with playing at the credit. Like you sound like you've not experienced that this is all love and whatnot any pressure at all. Though i mean they are you saying that the good outweighs the bad or you saying that you've there no negatives associated with planet decrypt just in terms of pressure. And maybe y'all got people got to take care of you know i'd have to have one hundred tickets a game..

Let's start right with our weeks slash months in the hobby pat. I'm going to have last if i don't. You're going to try to steal my thunder. What am i know what you're talking about. Let's start with doing basically much the same as reporting the past couple podcasts. Kind of quiet. So then i've been watching what's of tv or movies. Especially because i can't go out to the movies currently doing all to read inc now on may twenty thirteen marvel progress gross. Exactly us reading a lot of jim butcher pass. It's oaks. I can't injury. I have been with dresden files i think like six involve pokes in a row before i went back to the laura like for example. I can't do that with jack. Reacher books child creature is a really interesting are- not a very pleasant fellow so i couldn't do that but those books with jim butcher novels. It's no problem gaming wise. Will you continue onwards with our pathfinder camping on very. that's been fun. I'm currently looking at sh weaking guy. Bits because i find that condition has been a real learning extremists. It's pretty different from only moved from which was d three point five. Let's say the stakes were made stuff. That i look back on and go. What was i think he game itself has been fun or currently. Getting ready for sea huge. So i'm not really sure what inserted act we're going to have against you know massive numbers of enemies but we shall see the earth don fronts Things have kind of slowed down a bit because most of our player base and gm's are based in the states states as a whole time. Slowdown between christmas. Thanksgiving or thanksgiving and christmas. Yeah i should say so. There hasn't been has much going on there. I'm signed up for game next. Sunday was my circle for archer. That's the guide doesn't actually use a bow but So fun otherwise. As far as john told that just trying to absorb the massive info dump that does need us. What's yeah it's it's it's fun. We'll talk about that in that section doukas at all this stuff that has been dubbed as whole segment on its own now because the came out anyways. That's it for me onto someone else. Okay mac. let's go with next okay. Well not a whole lot new on the gaming front As wayne mentioned the big thing is continuing the pathfinder game. But i think we've had maybe one session since last time that We reported so. There's.
