"Brown lady herself in nineteen twenty six after her son and his friend claim to be seeing ghosts on the staircase both identified the ghostly figure with the portrait of lady dorothy walpole which hung again in that room. I think maybe the portrait moves. Also you can move stuff in your home if you own a home. That's not against the law and september nineteenth nineteen thirty six captain hubert see proven a london based photographer and assistant indre. Shira were taking photographs of raynham hall for an article in country life magazine. They claim that they had already taken a photograph of the halls main staircase. And we're setting up to take a second. When shira saw a quote vapor reform gradually assuming the appearance of a woman moving down the stairs towards them under shears direction prevent quickly took the cap off the lens and she repressed the flash later when the negative was developed the famous image of the brown lady was revealed. of course. the article changed after. that happened. going from a town like a country piece about this old house to a haunted palace. Pretty much the piece was published in the magazine on december. Twenty six nineteen thirty six along with the photograph. The photograph was such a sensation that also appeared in the january. Fourth nineteen thirty seven edition of life magazine and this photograph will have it up on. Social media is a very iconic ghost photo. Look it looks like it's from this time. It so archetypal. I guess when you think about you know orbs and people photograph and ghosts and shadows and things like that but it's very cool and it's very clear in a way that surprising so again you can talk about people doctoring photos or manipulating them all you want. But this one is so kind of time-tested. It's really hard to argue that. It's doctored at all or has to use it as a cover photo when i don't think they're want to be you know we really need some more ghost photos. Xactly dr one. Just we can make that happen. Yeah i feel like it's a pretty legitimate. At least as far as we all know and as far as life magazine and country british life magazine which do in nineteen thirty seven or like how much doctrine could possibly not a photographer. Harry prints famous paranormal investigator of the time viewed pro vanden shira and reported. I will say at once. I was impressed. I was told a perfectly simple story. Mr indre shira descending the stairs at the precise moment when captain province hand was under the black cloth. A shout and the cap was off in the flash vol fired with the results which we now see. I could not shake the story. And i had no right to disbelieve them. Only collusion between the two men would account for the ghost..

"Ghost on film. I'm jason horton. I'm rebecca lieb and this is ghost town. This is going to be a very british episode today to talk about a country. House in the british highlands called raynham hall. Which is incredibly historic very haunted and is the site of the most famous ghost photograph of all time. Today we talk about the brown lady of raynham hall. The hall was built in sixteen twenty two by the townsend family. Starting first john townsend who died in sixty three from a wound. He received in a dual see british out the gate. His son roger townsend. Who was kind of a baronet which i had not known what that means. This is where like baron and baroness come from it. Just as a fancy distinction that your family has been there long enough to be one of the foundational british families. He became baron and he named the hall raynham. The three villages that the estate borders west raynham south rain him and raynham park. He died in sixteen thirty seven very close to when the place was complete but not quite the building. Got a lot of buzz for its uniqueness. In the country of great britain. This buildings were made more like gothic and farmhouse. See in this building. it was much more modern. The architect sir. Roger pratt was english gentleman architect. Which is what he called himself. Which means it was his hobby to just design buildings of noble people. I guess he only designed five buildings in his life but they were all highly influential. Establishing this specific type of english house. Which like i said. It was very modern and very widely imitated classical symmetrical light brick called very italian for its form and plan. Roger's son horatio over and he got super politics and was big royalist who sat in the house of commons between sixteen fifty six sixteen sixty his son. Charles was born at raynham hall and followed in his father's footsteps. Being super big conservative went to cambridge sat in the house of commons etc etc more. Interestingly charles was married twice first to woman named elizabeth pal ham. Second to dorothy walpole. Who was the sister of the first prime minister of britain robert walpole. Everyone in the story knows everybody..

"Local representative but i'll i'll substitute it and that's how i get a whole different range of shane that you wouldn't normally see in this space so there's lots of tricks. I've learned over the years with learning from formulator in the l._v._m._h. Family so that's one of again like i i will pay more money for the ingredients in this like people. There's been influencers that are like oh. These pallets are so expensive because of the high quality design and the website and the packaging and all this stuff like no. That's me free like i literally don't pay. I don't have a paycheck nothing thing yet and basically the highest cost is my formula like that's what i'm putting in there. That's what i want like. Everyone is paid fairly early and ethically for each step of this. Yes and it's organic. It's fair trade. It's child-labour-free so the other stuff that vegan the quilty free. That's just a baseline right you you know and then to me. The packaging is so important so when i was in this r._n._d. Role for sustainability i visited a ton of recycling facilities and and in that role i learned basically what doesn't get recycled which literally got everything one percent right so i learned mirrors magnets are completely liane recyclable and when i learned that i was like literally every component everything everything it has a mirror and i'm like why why back here that little clap sound when we close people think it's like luxury. It's funny. I'm like mirrors. Actually when the cheapest things you can put in your any of them. I don't use a single the j. d. mirror totally and when i worked at sephora all the pro makeup artists they used to bitch and complain all the time about all these these and they would break when they travel so they have a broken glass everywhere and i'm like why are people doing this and wasting this material right on top of it magnets our mind and treacherous conditions so there's only certain and minds in the world that you can get the ingredients to create magnets and so it's just like every only learn. There's so many layers no so for me. Just i just didn't want to be part of it anymore. And i wanted to do better so i wanted to prove that you can have beautiful packaging and not be this granola wholefood sort of you know bamboo stuff so i wanted sophistication and so i met with all my packaging vendors. I researched a ton. I also learned so there's a lot of people talking about bioplastics these days. He's so you know those forks that you get that are buying and raynham hall people are using them are starting to use them in the beauty industry. When it comes to component okay. At least i've seen on the vendor side. Her brand's talk about that. They're about twos when i visited this. Recycling recycling facility is when. I was just thinking about starting something so it was asking them about these materials snows like what are your thoughts on bioplastic right. He said whatever you do do not use bioplastic what i use like use plastic. It was like what what are you telling me all these other designers to use more plastic no and they were like well basically basically bioplastic is a huge greenwashing problem so it takes months if not years to biodegrade and you have to be an an industrialized compost area which san francisco actually has but not the majority of city in the u._s..

"Opinion is divided as to whether photographers providence Shire perpetuated a great hoax with their ghostly photograph. Curiously when initially shown the ghost photograph marchioness Townsend bought the figure resembled the Virgin, Mary neither she nor country. Life magazine linked the image to the old legend, it was the subsequent media frenzy that connected providence shires photograph to the legend of the ghost in a Brown. Tress and lady Dorothy, the December twenty sixth nineteen thirty six issue of country. Life contained a featured article of the ghost on the stairs, an editorial in the magazine. Explain that they believed the picture to be real as providence Shire had been questioned by various experts, and their film negative had been examined. The public was enthralled with the image providence Shire made a small fortune selling copies of the photograph for Guinea, which is approximately one pound five Pence or less than one dollar in today's money, currently while there are many people who believe the photograph to be real many more. Consider it a hoax. It has been decried as grease smeared on the camera lens and a light anomaly from the flash lamp. However, the most common argument is that the image is a double exposure using a Virgin Mary statuette, whether the photograph is genuine or fake its location, still stands strong and proud and the legend of Dorothy stance with it the noble Townsend family continues to privately own and live in their ancestry home and some members of the family even maintain that they share the halls with their spectral predecessor. However, they strongly deny that lady Dorothy was imprisoned or ill treated by Lord. Charles and claim that Dorothy remains on the grounds out of funk nece for her home, not malice. A few times a year. Raynham hall is open to the public for viewing and music recitals. The current Lord and lady Townsend conduct tours through some of the formal rooms of the hall pointing out and teak tables were kings and princes once dined telling tales of their ancestors, if you're lucky to be a visitor at Raynham hall feel free to complement the marble friezes or the lovely silver service, but refrain from bringing up the ghost, it would be impolite to mention her in polite society. A woman was coming towards him Marianne to was in a state of undress due to the lateness of the hour. Modestly slipped into an antechamber. So as not to offend the woman as she passed curious as to whom it was Mariette peered through a crack in the door. He watched in horror as she moved with impossible speed raspy breath under him as he peered at her through the door. He gripped his revolver as he did. So the woman turned to face him Mary Hart. Stuttered tennis chest slowly the woman in Brown raised her oil glow revealed her features almost translucent skin clung to recall, her eyes were blood red for a heartbeat. The ghost stared at him. The ghost disappeared as the bullet passed through her and struck a door on the opposite side of the hallway at leaned against the wall. Trying to catch his breath his ears rang from the gunshot. He approached the door the bullet had blown right through it only to lodge itself in the far wall of a small room dark liquid was dripping from the bullet hole in the wall. Mariette leaned in close to better see in the dim moonlight. He dipped a finger in a draw. And found that it was blind. Marianne tapped at the wall with the butt of his revolver, he managed to widen the whole little holding his breath. He wiggled two fingers into the hole and felt something wet hard. Bony? At ran for a lamp, then carefully looked into the whole he had touched the finger of a human corpse. Early. The next morning Marianne told the towns what happened they denied that. She grinned at Indra and in the split second as the shutters closed. She was gone. Opinion

A room once more the more this happened, the more she would turn her attention to the verse written on the wall where before she would see Bowman and evil standing out against the rest. Now, she only saw the word Di Di Di Di. She had lost all faith that Charles had any intention towards reconciliation at all. She crawled to the gas lamp hungry and exhausted. She lit the flame and removed the class cover holding the rope that tied to the bed above the flame. The heat worked its way through the cord each strand snapping the fire piece by piece. Eventually the rope is cut. She put the cover back on the lamp and began to carry it, the flickering fire casting her long gone shadow against the walls. She would exit the attic find your children and run she didn't know where but she would run and run until she was free. Enter children were free with her. She lowered the stairs and made her way down to the house proper. She snapped lamp to avoid giving away her position and crypt down the hall. The snake for any sort of movement. All was quiet. She made her way to her daughter's room she entered and saw her daughter sleeping in her bed. Safe and sound tears welled in your is it had been weeks and she'd seen her baby.
