Jon Gruden Resigns as Raiders Coach Over Decade-Old Offensive Emails

"John Gruden has always been kind of a wild child in the NFL always been a little bit of a loose cannon, if you will. And I believe he was also he was also the coach of the Oakland Raiders in like the 90s. And then he went to the Buccaneers and led them to the Super Bowl very complicated. But then he rejoined the Raiders in 2018 after he was an analyst on Monday Night Football. Do you remember those things he used to sit down with the quarterbacks? And it was like Gruden's corner. I've never been a big fan of Jon Gruden. I'll be very honest. One in 2002, that's right, my memory's not too bad. I'm not going to be an apologist for Jon Gruden. Okay? I'm sure he lives a complicated life like most people in the NFL. But this recent saga involving in his resignation slash termination is disgusting. And the national Football Association is in many different ways. In enterprise that is built on a House of Cards. The entire structure of how many of the teams are filed as nonprofits on how almost every stadium is built thanks to taxpayer dollars. There's a lot of corruption that exists in the national football, the National Football League. And so it came out a couple days ago that John Gruden is going to be fired, or it has to speak out for his racist and homophobic emails over ten years ago. And I shrugged my shoulders and I actually didn't know where this one was going to go. Because John Gruden signed a ten year 100 million dollar deal with the Oakland Raiders. And now so he technically resigned whatever he says, I have resigned as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. I love the Raiders and do not want to be distraction. Thank you to all the players coaches and staff and fan fans of raider nation. I'm sorry I never meant to hurt anyone, John Gruden. And so it was revealed in some of these emails. And based from what I've said, seen should have said something's probably not no, was he joking around in private in a context that none of us can understand? Yes. He incited Joe Biden, insulted Joe Biden I can't even say what he called Joe Biden on air. It's kind of hilarious. Called Roger Goodell, a certain name. I'm no fan of Roger Goodell. So if this whole thing is like a Roger Goodell, apology tour, but here's what really matters. Here's the question. In the National Football League, do they ever allow people to do bad things and continue to participate? Like murder. How about rate Ray Lewis and his legacy of the unsolved double murder? Or how about you remember this one? You remember ray rice, who literally punched his fiance in an elevator? It was an elevator, right? Which gained total notoriety following the indictment he was released by the ravens and suspended, and now rice would be reinstated after he successfully appealed the league's decision. And this whole thing with John Gruden is this question of should you be judged by things you have said in private ten years ago to destroy your current

Amy Porterfield Wants to Talk to You About Body Image

"Yours you we upon calf podcast and like always reaches. This is always me. I'm nervous emphasis. But i feel like it's good to be nervous because it means you're pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone very true in this way right. My comfort right. What's cool to me about this. Is i feel like we've kind of been talking about it and marinating it for a while. Like we've talked about this concept on stage a few times and talked about it on our girl strips together like i remember sitting where we in tucson getting your ass and i was. I was like this. Is you gotta talk about this. This is the thing which by the way. Because i'm trying to be better about when people are part of my gratitude telling them that they're part of my gratitude gratitude work every morning and i've instead of just would've grateful for this which i still do. I spend time every single day. Now kind of being present in past experiences. And i'm really great for and one always. That always comes up for me. Is that mirasol trip. It was real. I love that you say that. I think about it often because we had these really good conversations like we went deep yet and it was only like twenty four hours and it was good. It was all so let. Where do you wanna start. Where do you want to start with. What what you're feeling what you're thinking like again. We've done okay so with the help of your team. I've done a lot of work around what this podcast is going to be about. And why it's important and in the first few episodes. I share a lot about my own experience of dieting and wanting to lose weight. And i keep coming back to this concept of wanting to get to a goal weight and now how long has it been. Since i was on the ray rice stage and we talked about this i now because kobe timing means nothing was like a year was an ear was three years. I don't know maybe a year maybe a year okay. So you called me out on this concept of wanting to hit my goal weight right and i am still in the same place like i would love to hit a galway by and when we were on the rise stage i had lost a lot of weight in a really healthy way. I take that very seriously but since then this last year the covid i've gained twenty pounds. Twenty pounds in one year. I've actually never seen publicly. Total global pandemic like who on earth knew how to handle this year. Do you know like. I think it's i think women are so hard on themselves for doing things. That are normal. Nary normal good point. Because i'm very very disappointed in myself around the whole thing. Come on things. Not only was more stressful. Your husband's a first responder. You know you had a son who's transitioning into college was going on. We did know what was happening. And on top of all that you own a business and all of us who owned businesses whether the pandemic really made it better or made it way worse you were affected by what was happening stressful. Was this your most stressful. You're in business or have you had others. That were more stressful okay. That's such a great question. Because as you know i got out of a partnership. That was a really stressful thing. When you and i first met. I would say this year was definitely more stressful. And you you make a great point that my business because i'm in digital marketing. It was able to do really well this year. But i watched my students suffer struggle more than i ever have. I think you had the same experience. We watched our community. Just really go through some thing. And i took it like really hard in every day. I worried about them and eight. Do all right entire right. Well and i think so been there. I don't know if you saw like this. But i definitely felt an added there. An added layer of this. Because i know that there are tactics and tools and habits and rituals. that would help with this process. I knew it just the same as you knew if you do these six things or whatever it was it will help your business but being someone who's talking about what will help in a time where everybody is stressed and anxious and scared and whatever. Then there's an added tension of. Should i even say these things. Should we only talk about how hard it is. Am i allowed be positive here. Am i supposed to. Because i kept coming back to this idea of look. Nobody knows how to deal with the global pandemic in twenty twenty. What there is so much information about how to the side effects and in business. Nobody knows how to deal with a global pandemic in the business. You're in but dan schorr know what people can do if they build a list if they build a digital course if they built these things that have helped so many people before Who have found themselves out of work or unsure or whatever so you knew you had some answers but saying that you have answers like in everything frequent.

"Patriots Pau Spartan here from the Midnight Patriots. So, one of the. Feel about anchored now. When we started this insanity, we always tell people. The reason we do this is because insomnia sucks almost as bad as tyranny. We would have these conversations between ourselves the group chats. Throws and things like that. We thought, hey man, you know we should just record a podcast, but the more we looked the more expensive became. Get Cross anger. Anger gives you all the tools you need to do this to make your voice heard and get your voice out there. You have an opinion you gotta use anchor everything from recording to editing to distribution that you'd be all the tools that you need. To allow you to record your podcast right for your phone or your computer. Anchor covers distribution by getting on Apple. spotify and many many others. I mean how you can make money right from your own podcast with no minimum listenership. It's everything you need in one spot in one place simple at effect. So get yourself anchor make voice her. Midnight Patriot, nation welcome to NFL. Mid Nitrates it is you boy spartan here with the the ever ever pot and flaming premix A good to have you as D to ultra. Sports nerds. In specifically football cards. On the end on the. Patriot staff. Phoenix tonight decided that we were actually GonNa do kind of a deep dive into what is pissing us off most about NFL and. Most pro sports in general to be quite honest. But we're GONNA focus on the NFL in this particular case because. Both Phoenix, myself have. A long history of both fandom and and. Playing Sports, we have a unique appreciation of what it takes. More it doesn't and how it is devolved into the into this shit show that it is. Just, we're just GONNA go from there. So Phoenix you had you had some thoughts that you wanted to start with go ahead. Well specifically. I I have a major gripe with the NFL in general. Being more politicized. And the. Let's End Racism. Okay, I get my left. Black lives matter. No sorry. They do and I agree with the message just not the manor which is being delivered. We've said that before on the organization go ahead. Exactly. All of a sudden you know we have a organization. That's Through much. Yup You can't do this. You know we have this. AFOREMENTIONED SCAMMED EMMA GOING ON. You can't do this. You can't do this. Well Yeah you can't. Okay. And then we have the social unrest of the nation being thrown into. A sporting. Venues. that. For All intents purposes let's call it. What is it's an escape. It allows us the viewer. Fan. That three four hours. Sunday evening Monday night whatever that. It gives us that escape from eager live love get up go to work and deal with people you come home you deal with cranky wife and kids don't listen dog that Shit's in your shoes. You've taken that away. And now have made it. Well we got to get on board with this. Well, we're relevant to. We're a large. Organization we goner? A multitude of platforms. That we have viewership. There any given? Day that we have competition So now we're going to. Paint messages in the end. We're going to have. Athletes will we're going to kneel to show solidarity. I got a huge problem with that and for our listeners I'm sure you have your own platforms as well. The American flag comes I stand for Gore country you back your country everything else second berry period. That's my thought on that. That's the way it is. Unfortunately when. The NFL NBA MLB hockey underwater basket weaving has become politicized in what we have to show solidarity with this. I have a question. Are you showing solidarity four? Message. Or are you As the NFL did let's put. The name of a known fell one on a helmet. Let's. Let's praise this guy because shot back when a an. Amplifier point in accused rapists. Is someone with a warning active warrants? For Rape Yes. So here in my eternal gripe with this, that will probably go down in flames just like the rest of them. Why are we? In fact. Standing behind. Someone. WHO BREAKS THE LAW? WHO does walk. Yes. They didn't listen. They got shot in the back whatever. House we say. Extenuating circumstances came to be that this ended up how that was. We have to stand behind this person as a form of. Instead of. Waiting, for all the facts that come out be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. And then move forward from there. Well. That's the real question. Isn't it is is you know? All we've seen is what has been allowed to be released. Okay I mean look I think in his thing I agree with everything you just said save one thing. Okay. I don't think demand deserve to be shot seven times point blank in the back now. Having said that. He has an active warrant for his arrest, what he should not have done to prevent that whole situation was to surrender. Get handcuffed and be taken into to engage whatever process there is. Okay, you don't fight cops in the street if you do. You mess with the bull, you get the horns. Okay. He's admitted he was armed. He's admitted he was going for a different arm- armament. Okay. And what do we expect the COPS to die? I don't think so you know I'm. In the eyes of them, that's probably what they're saying. Well. Preserved by life fuck yours. Well exactly. The COP Exactly and and my my attitude would be y is either one wrong as far as you know, one one has a duty to behave professionally the other has a duty to follow the law. Or face the consequences you know it would have saved him from getting shot in the back if he had stopped if he turned around if he'd Toronto. Surrendered Okay Understand that I understand the Warren has has since been vacated, but that's beside the point. When a COP's his I warrant for your arrest I mean you're supposed to do is say what am I being arrested for? Okay I'll go peacefully ears might whereas my lawyer yeah. Instead, of no fuck you fight you tooth and nail, and if get away up the war still there, but you don't have me. Right. Exactly. Exactly and you know I got I got I got a I. got a interject because you know. My personal opinion is if you probably agree Is this. Cancer of case. started. It may have it may have had other sources. Okay. But its primary. Protagonist, in growth factor was Colin. Kaepernick a few years ago and I don't say that in a flattering manner. Okay. I've said it before the my opinion that Colin Kaepernick is the biggest fraud on the planet as pertains to the NFL. At least Ryan leaves when he signed what Leash Langley, when he signed, he knew he was shit approved the wish she had any faded off politely into the sunset because he saw a gay. young just tell the story as I. Recall it and you you you feel free to chime in when you. When when you when you if I'm off base okay. A lot of people don't remember this but you and I as King's football and many things in life have a have a memory quite a bit longer than than your average goldfish. Okay? I remember watching the first incidents of Cabernet court on code kneeling and he wasn't fucking Neil. He had just had an argument with his with with the head coach and I don't think it was Kelly. It may have been horrible. But he had the yard, the head, the argument with Joe it was horrible wasn't horrible yet. So out of you probably saw the clip to you can't find it now because it's Youtube everywhere else. He had he had A. Verbal altercation with Harbhajan and I can only assume in what we were told. You know later was that harbaugh. told him. No you're not starting a colon Cabernet got very unprofessional and like the diva quarterback that he is. Turn Turnhill stomped over to the bench slammed his helmet down in plop disaster down on the bench now by sheer and toll coincidence. Anthem had just started. The anthem it just started when that HAP-. ACI. I know you remember this is I think you and I talked about this at the time that it happened because we were mocking him because when I weren't weren't quarterbacks when we played the game and we know what divas they are even princesses, they are this. If you remember and I know you do espn headlines a couple of days. Later words were that Colin Kaepernick was going to be fine. Substantially for multiple instances of unprofessional conduct conduct deleterious to the team. Leading up to the altercation with harbaugh that happened where he plops his ass on the bench you remember that ideas that. Dakhla and it was it was post practice I. Believe I want a That later that week that a reporter asked him. About the state of the fines and Based on his lip based on. Let's just call it what it was temper Tantrum. Okay. And that's when Cabernet sold all this bullshit about he was doing it in protest etcetera etcetera and he played the race card, which we all know the press eats up hook line and sinker and never ever questioned. Ever On. Me It came across and partner Jackie No, you're good. The the instance of which we are discussing out my first thought on that was yes it's a temper tantrum and I'm about to be busted for having a temper tantrum. So allow me to make up some juicy. To Garner more attention to the fact that. This is happening to be Gimme Gimme. GimMe and I lost my starting spot. Well, that's the that's the point I'm making. He played the race card to avoid fight. For on professional conduct and he was he was outright given a past. I don't think he ever actually even actually got find something that was overlooked too is that is that nick is not a person of color is really not us he is a multi-racial okay and part of that find that he was going to get for unprofessional conduct was calling somebody else on the field the N. Word back can't say here because quite frankly it's feds even and number two I don't WanNa get show you monetize but that said that was part of that that was part of the fine to be levied. The fine was vacated. Okay. Because he was successful, you successfully played the race card and got out. Okay and this whole shift started this snowball at that point. as we as we all know you know he was he was basically the the the face man for chip. Kelly's offense that you know while short term short term effective was absolutely not sustainable. Okay. We all know that. And you combine that with the fact that the guy had. Just over just under a shooting just over sixty percent for completion rate. Even in that offense at his best day, he was a mediocre quarterback surrounded by a bunch of very talented people. Okay. So now it has become the fact that you know this whole narrative has has escalated by people that that know nothing about the actual game because. Football is simple. It's not easy, but it's simple. Is. The ultimate meritocracy. Okay talent hard work equals success. Okay there's a lot of guys. We can probably point him out on the field you and I. There's a lot of guys that that. That just simply outworked their competition to get where they are I'll give you. I'll give you one prime example and right now they call him the goat Tom. De. Tom. Brady was drafted was I can remember he was drafted. He was I. Don't think he was Mr irrelevant. But he was real close. He was the very bottom. Yes. Six he was very close to the very end of end of the draft in and he is he outworked is is competition. Now granted drew bledsoe. If people can remember back set for was not a very good quarterback anyways. He was only borderline better than Ryan Leaf and he went down Tom Brady took over in the rest as they say district but. No? One ever questioned, Tom? Brady's work ethic in those dynasty years in in in New England. Okay. Because he outworked he, he worked his ass off. Yes he was talented. Yes. He's physically gifted but that plus hardwork dedication to his craft turned into in the in the the hardware for the hand so to speak. and. anyways back to my point about Cabernet. All, these people talking about how Catherine doesn't have a job because he's bad for business or half rights, they're only half rice. Now I posted this to the page I know you read you probably it is I. Think I read this week we went to this is from ESPN DOT COM itself. Okay. ESPN DOT. com. The actual date this was published as March twentieth two, thousand seventeen. By their staff writer Kevin Seaford. and. I am just going to read it. I'm. GonNa. I'M GONNA. Try to read the whole thing. I'm trying Doug only try to read the parts that are relevant. But those those listening. If you go to our face, a bitch facebook dot com slash midnight patriots. You'll be able to find this article and we shared it the title of it is calling Kabir Knicks based problem performance. Politics. Day It starts off real simple. So Don't over think why Colin Kaepernick is still a free age simply put years have passed since he was ineffective quarterback he's twenty nine years old has succeeded in an unsustainable scheme as part of a well populated group of former starters who also remain available at as this week began now getting that was march twenty, twenty, seventeen. So they were in free agents. Okay. Let's. Let's move on here. It's blamed Colin Kaepernick's unemployment on his protest is to misread the way NFL teams make personnel decisions. that. I don't think there's any more true statement on Earth. Do you I? MEAN THAT'S Yeah. So it goes on protests where does say at any type of business that if you have lackluster performance, did you are guaranteed two hundred million dollar job? Number One and two I was GONNA say there have been divas troublemakers in the NFL before? Okay and Kim's and? Lewis Terrell on. You know. List goes on and on. And let's not forget the NFL is the lead cut an outright banned ray rice running back from the Ravens for domestic violence. Okay. Before he was convicted. Suspended A. Peterson for disciplining his child. Yeah for banking hit saw. Yeah. Okay for spanking his own child. Okay. So now they put criminals names on their helmet. so by but I digress I digress let's get back to the article. Just to just to go just to go. Teams are swayed I by players potential or lack thereof to help them win protest or not kapernick would be under contract. Now, if he had demonstrable if he had played demonstrably better in recent years. Let's look closer at where capper nick is as a quarterback and why that has left him sitting in a group that also includes fellow free agents, Jay Cutler Josh mccown Ryan Fitzpatrick and Robert Griffin the third. Again keep in mind. This is from shelvin teachings of this is three years ago. Okay. But. It goes on to some of the reason I liked this 'cause this is based on facts not just you know a bunch of race baiting bullshit. Kapernick grid NFL success came as part of the San Francisco Forty niners read Options Skiing Twenty, twelve to twenty four. In those three years, he rushed for Fifteen, hundred, seventy, eight yards which okay. I will give credit that impressive gudgeon impressive number. For. More than any other quarterback with the exception of Rush Russell Wilson Cam Newton so let's just call it what it is. He was third rushing quarterback against. It breath. Okay. I will not fall the net. His. Success. He threw more than twice as many touchdown passes interceptions helped him compile eighth best time quarterback rating in the NFL seventy point to over that period. But even then capper nick was one of the lease most. Least Accurate quarterbacks is sixty point one completion percentage ranked twenty third in the NFL and has percentage of off target throws judged on video by espn stats and information ranked eighteen. So. Based on just the stats alone he was a middle of the pack quarterback middle of the pack. Does that mean that he's better than half the other guys absolutely does that mean that that you know the drama he brings? Outweighs his skills is still setting the money in the monetary investment probably. Okay I agree or disagree just on that statement there. I would agree that yeah, he's a middle of the road quarterback. He had some skill. At. That position. That offense. You're right. Would it work somewhere else probably not but that's Changing teams, you learned their offensive scheme you learn what they do best blend yourself into that and you become part of the team not a one man show. that. I, mean you'd have to agree that most had coaches that have half a brain would go sixty, four, sixty point one completion percentage. even if you're even if you're going to do A. A bootleg offense even if you're going to do a boot offense. Play I can. Still going to have to be better than sixty point one. Periods I mean just entered discussion. Quarter, you're talking college level quarterback. Even if you're on a naked, do either one side, you're still depending on receivers tied ends backs to be open at some point that you can actually say, Hey, he's opened easel bewitched of the two weevils need a cheese her who exactly exactly union able to identify and hit those targets or at least give your guys in a position to succeed you know. I'd like to. Bring to Light I. Not Very long after capital started his quest masqueraded by some of justice whatever you WANNA call it only because he got in my mind and correct me if I'm wrong, he got busted out period. That's just the way it is you through Tantrum he got his ass busted will now I gotta cover with this to cover that with this, and then all of a sudden we have one big lie that snowball into the entire solstice thing that's going on currently. You're. Going to look they had to go. He ended up in Washington. In front of US rest. Explaining his side of everything that goes on great. Denver Broncos of whom I am a fan. I it. Does not get into that because. Pirate about that right. That's ultimate digression. Go ahead, John. elway. It had in fact offer Catholic before your contract. said. Hey. COMPLA-. Can come down because it wasn't enough money. Wait a minute. Let's look at your stats a sixty sixty point something or other completion percentage. Yes. You had fifteen hundred yards rushing, which as we've discussed is pretty phenomenal quarterback save. Russell. Cam. Newton. Maybe rg three hundred healthy. That's stretching it buttle throw it in there. Anyway. I. Really. Wanted to see if capital could be plugged into that offense and sell. Well, that's the that's the real trick. Isn't it? I mean? End and let's be clear. He turned it down because the salary was too low, not the money. Or maybe remember correctly, he turned it down because John elway wanted to load the one at the loaded up with incentives and say, okay, you exceed this mark you get ex you this you get what we go to the playoffs and when you get Z. Experience Cetera so wasn't of excellent. Yeah. But exactly to perform at your very best as cut your in the NFL, they don't take ship nothing while the that's when the NFL stands for not for lofts. That and let's be honest. It was not only. Did he had he had to meet performance criteria he had to me behavior criteria, EXAC? elway and the broncos weren't going to stand for this s J. W. S. J. W. Crap. That he's pulling. So let's go back to the article real quick. It'll it'll. It'll really start driving the point home. Okay. So I believe he started kneeling rating was two fifteen. So. Article Goes On. The issues that we were just talking about the increasing. Or decreasing completion percentage decreasing accuracy except sets. Those issues intensified in Twenty fifteen and twenty sixteen amid forty nine ers. Coaching turmoil in talent drain since the start of the twenty fifth season Kapernick ranks get this. Last in the NFL thirty five all five passers in off target percentage is off target twenty, two point six percent of the time which when she is the least accurate quarterback in the. League. As of the twenty. Fifteen. It goes on. Is Complete. Complete is completion percentage ranks number thirty, two at fifty, nine point one. He was still one of the NFL's most productive Shink quarterbacks, ranking number four total yardage over all those years but it didn't mitigate his passing deterioration and this is in my mind. This is the absolute most important line in the yard or ear and an adult. There is no more important attribute for quarterback accuracy especially for a free agent who is shopping himself teams with various schemes. In, the long term a quarterbacks running ability is considered a complimentary skill and one that is story. Fade with age or because of injuries, scrambling ability and arms drank are secondary to whether you can hit the target. That analysis backed up by numbers essentially wreck stay shit out of this current narrative will Cohen Governor never draw. Back. Dinners. Any beds no sorry. Have a fucking job because he sucks. Sex At what he does also, there's a theory going around the going around that it was right about twenty, nine, hundred he met his I don't know if she's still has girlfriend whatever evidently these ideas about radical justice one I'd ever definitely his girlfriend is, is some sort of radical s j w as well, and he was too stupid to either a lever to the side or be not listen door and just agree to disagree on stuff but then again. Go ahead exactly what it is. Power Pussy with exactly exactly and you quite frankly I can't fault them for that because you know that's ninety percent of marriages happen. We'll just we'll just leave at this point. Is that right there? That's You were saying regarding his ability to suck. But it started then I mean he the guy the guy got lazy. He got loud. Through the race card to cover his shit then he couldn't back up his mouth with performance. You know do you your ears? Rocco's fat okay. Let's talk about just a second. Let's talk about Shannon Sharpe just for ten seconds or for a few seconds. Okay. Shannon Sharpe. Is An arrogant prick agree or disagree now When I hang on, hang on that said. Shannon Sharpe liked to run his mouth about a lot of stuff at a lot of different times also true. Yes. Yes. Shannon Sharpe never failed toback his mouth up with his physical actions on field. Also. True. Unless I'm Clinton mistake, it have you seen the. I know he's A. He's a beast. His and by that, I, mean his physique and his skill level we're just unprecedented but you know I do I think running your mouth there's unprofessional Mind that you buy then back it up on the field nut so much. I mean. Go ahead. If I if I remember correctly now, remember this because there is significant events happened in my life sixteen nineteen. broncos are in the midst of the run to Super Bowl thirty two. Tonight game. In Kansas City in Kansas. City. I can remember. Watching a few days later because of recovering from surgery on. Shannon. Sharpe was literally being drug halfway across the field for most of the game by his helmet because he was talking some serious Shit Oh. Yeah. I. Remember Correctly Dr Thomas. If. If I get an incorrect Thomas Yeah. So. So pissed off the guy, he knocking, Kane insane composure in his professionalism in the game. You got what? I think. Say He lit it up. He was like Yeah. That's ten to twelve for. The Gargantuan One, twenty, one, twenty, six, and what two touchdowns. Yeah he was a month. So. All of a sudden sanders our. Love the Guy I've actually met him. Helvin individual. Love Tall. But he can copious amounts of Shit Oh. Yeah. Oh yeah that that man can back his mouth up. Oh Yeah. We have an and. He. End Let's let's break that down from an NFL perspective. So I'm a personnel manager. Okay and I have Shannon Sharpe as a free agent. His name comes across the wire I go holy Fuck Ball sharps available, and I already know that a he's allowed mouth be he likes to talk shit and sees extremely opinionated man but D-. The Guy Backs should have on the field I picked up the phone. I pick up the phone and say Hello Mr Shannon. Trump's lawyer her agent. This is me at the I would like to pay your your plant, a lot of money obscene amount of money to come help us when football game sets. Ended up with the. Exactly for whatever he was with the Ravens what three years. Say but he wanted them for four super bowl with their to. The argument that Colin Kaepernick doesn't have a job because Hashtag grace is complete an utter bullshit. Bullshit and the the fact that Roger Goodell has bought into this Shit Hook Line and sinker is even worse. Okay. You would think that that to be the commissioner of of a National League or National Professional Sports League that race in what eight to ten billion dollars. A year in gross revenue. You have. You'd have to have an IQ above your shoe size. Goodell even that these people that that they're they're professing to support. Social Justice. Wise. He realized that the vast majority of them do not watch the Games couldn't tell you five players in the league and doesn't even know couldn't name five teams lot I mean. She probably I mean. Look at some of the fan base. Did Not tell you the difference three, four, three defense. Yeah don't try to get him to describe the Tampa to. Exactly or various offensive formation. You're the simultaneous simultaneous possession roll which you and I can quote by heart understand completely. Exactly. Our guys we've got another segment coming up right after this brief break. Stay tuned. Midnight Patriot nations spartan with a shameless plug for our new gear shop shop. Dot. MIDNIGHT PATRIOTS DOT COM. T shirts, hats, hoodies, mugs, phone cases, and just about everything else in between we got you covered whether you're looking to embrace your insomnia, show your patriotism or make a liberals headaches blowed. Really, Shop Dot Midnight Patriots, Dot Com, and now back to the show. You know that's that said. I made a prediction in in midnight moment the last night moment and I want to run around wanted to run that by. Not. Only understand that the business portion of the of the game, but also the game itself. So this is going to the business portion now. One. Of the things that you and I both know is that owners very rarely. SAY WHAT THEY THINK Or say or reveal their plans in advance. Okay. I've noticed that the owners have remained. Suspiciously quiet. About the social justice campaign that's currently going on I do disagree with that. I mean like I said, I think Jerry Jones is really the only one that's actually made any sort of statement and it wasn't a very long. I ever Jones ever quiet. What that's that's my point. And say instead of instead of. Me thinks he protests too much. Me think she says nothing for more sinister Okay so I wanted to run this by this is my theory. Okay. Now we've confirmed the the the Monday night compal atrocity from last night. US. Or Susani from two nights ago that. We've confirmed that the viewership was down approximately twenty nine percent. Across the board in that double header. So if we take the two games Monday and the overall ratings of of being down for Sunday you're talking an average of of a twenty percent downer. It's one fifth of the audience of the television audience told the NFL the PISS off. Okay. Considering the the significant financial investment ESPN has for for the right. To. Monday night football. Let's just let's just call that loss unsustainable. Okay. So I am going to ask you to engage your owner brain for just a minute. Okay. So We're GONNA fast forward to the week after the Super Bowl's okay where things are notably notably quite Rosalie quiet. The coaching carousel began and things like that since. Day. Except that, there's going to be a rumor. Going to be a rumor. That the NFL that the owners are considering locking out the players because they want to renegotiate the contracts. And this will come as a surprise to dumb asses in the AT ESPN released. They're going to feign surprise. Okay. And we're going to start hearing things like while the coaches are not gonNa make anymore are putting hiring decisions are the owners are going to. Put a hiring decisions on pause for just We're going to review a few things and Blah Blah Blah. While then we're going to get to Russia's started free agency. And we'RE GONNA. Find out and it's probably going to be one of the one of the What's The guy's name? Remember his name. One of the reporters Schefter Adam schefter because he always breaks up he's. Probably. GonNa be schefter becomes. We have confirmed reports, the owners who are going to lock out the players affected nine am tomorrow or whatever. Okay. Now what's going to end up happening is this. The overall I would say, the overall revenue is going to decline somewhere in the area of twenty percent across the before the Lee across the. Across the season. Okay. Now again does just a prediction it might be higher. I hope it's higher until they stop dish this personally but. This is what's going to happen. You're going to get a massive ratings ratings cut. Even in the Super Bowl. Which means revenue is going to be down roughly thirty percents. Okay. What they're gonNA say is this is an unprecedented drop in revenue and the the losses are unsustainable. They're going to have to renegotiate the contracts. The players are GONNA have to take less money and this time the the ownership is going to be able to show concrete. The because of the drop in television revenue in Jersey sales and everything else. That they're going to have to renegotiate the contract. They're going to vote on removing Goodell as the commission. You're actually they're gonNA, they're gonNA end up forcing him out but the way it's GonNa play out this players are to get locked out. There's going to be a review of the deal of the of the current Labor Labor Agreement. The new agreement is GONNA. Have a significantly lower. Revenue Pool total that that the players are going to get. And they're going to have conduct they're going to have enhanced conduct policy which include the jewel stand for the national anthem. You will not hiding locker room for it. And you're going to we're going to not endorse anyone as far as any sort of political failure, your ideology on the field, and if you do not only will your contract be terminated but you'll be you'll be on the breadline by your suspended for a year. Now maybe the suspended for year won't come to pass but. Engage your own our brain for just a second and then look at the strike years that came up and you tell me how how how. Or how far I'll fight on that. Will. Allow me to. Dive into this plan I mean. Here we go. I am an owner of a NFL team. Meaning I have had to. Put Out. Let's use an arbitrary figure five hundred million dollars cash right upfront. Chooses five hundred. Half a billion. Cool. I'm. Glad. Yeah. Five hundred million dollars up front in order to gain my team have somewhere to play. The voted on passed and approved by the NFL. As either an expansion team whatever then. To, Cherry pick the other teams around here so I can build my team. In hopes that a I get a return on investment. That said if I'm going to dump five, hundred, million dollars out. A team equipment place play contracts that are stretched for X. number of years. This mice guaranteed this much at a signing bonus this much. Not. including the money paid to the team from the NFL for reaching a wildcard round, a divisional round championship round, and ultimately the Super Bowl. There are incentives paid to the teams by the NFL for attaining postseason plum. Yeah So that said with everything that goes on here. Currently we're martyring. Convicted felons we are. Using the NFL. As a soapbox. As an owner. would. Say? Okay. I can understand. The Point I understand where you're coming from I understand yes. Shit doesn't like this doesn't need to happen. It does there's nothing I can physically do about it personally except point out to you that you're not them. You are a multimillionaire more working your way to that point because of your talent, your skill and your ability play the game price. You as a athlete. well-fed well trained. Best shape, your ever loving life you have a house bigger than anything you've ever grew up in, you've got cars for days all these other things but. You need to remember that you are entertainer You're not a politician. So, that said. When to go into your point? After the Super Bowl. Until they actually have one right. That two weeks later, when everything's died down in the in the winter sprayed is over and losers or duck griping and the coaches players have made their way to their respective all. Wherever. That may be they're probably their private castles. Yes don't don't live in a castle guarded by you know dogs bigger than. Most people's. Cars. Were we will probably see as you said. Well you know revenue was down. Because of viewership is down across the board anywhere between currently twenty twenty, two percent to encroaching upon thirty percent. For Games you know TV, rights merchandise sales are going to be down. People are actively boycotting across those media and they're actually making their voice known by not watching. All of a sudden if we were to take thirty two current teams. And we look at. All the owners in this how much money they have? Now if we were to take thirty percent of total investment apart. As a conglomerate figure. We're talking a loss of probably and I would strong. Guess. Somewhere in the neighborhood of anywhere between two and two point, five, billion dollars while even go you want all you can go one better I think since the economy has basically picked up I mean you gotta remember the day to ten billion was during the Obama Konami which was one of the worst economies history. Okay. So that said you gotta figure that now it's probably going to be between ten and twelve. So if you have a twenty percent revenue law, if you have a almost thirty percent, you're talking about three billion dollars. That's a three billion dollar loss. So even if even if you spread that across thirty two teams, you're talking about what? Three hundred, million dollar loss per franchised. and. So and a lot of the smaller market. Good. So again, as an owner with Joan, arbitrary figure of five, hundred, million dollars starting I just lost seventy five percent of your or yeah of my revenue that I put into have an NFL team. Well, exactly. Well Number One and number two what anybody thinks that now? Okay. We all understand the cats at the revenue sharing For Those of us that are initiated, understand understand the the the reason for revenue. Okay. That's that's a given. Okay. Even still a thirty percent cut to that revenue devastates small-market teams devastate. Okay that's. Cleveland Cleveland Cambe that's Detroit. Well, I think Detroit is a bit bigger, but I catch meaning. into. Jacksonville. Flow? Buffalo Alright. That unders. Anyway. They're too big but no I hear you here's here's here's the thing the smaller market teams are going to move may if this continues maybe on the verge of bankruptcy and and if you really don't think that the NFL owners will lock out the players to avoid that. I just think everybody's so naive that they shouldn't even be a football fan you can. Football I in my opinion, these played the players and Adele are cutting the owners throats and I don't think the owners appreciate it number one and number two I. Think the owners are more in touch with their demographic their fan base style people want to believe i. don't say that they like their fan base because obviously as the executive class billionaires general ended the tend to hate working people or at least have a disdain for them. Okay. But the point being is that it's unsustainable model for them to go forward to continue this crap. Of K, it's it's absolutely ludicrous. So I think about beat that horse to death did you have anything to add on just on that? Final thought regarding that as an owner is a businessman I yeah exactly. Exactly. His businesses to? Yes he owns the team but as a business owner, you're always looking to. CRUISER BOTTLE BLONDE Increase but also you know they've got, they've got a commitment. You know what I mean I mean the bottom line is there are associated with raising revenue to pay Patrick mahomes half a billion dollars over the next. Seven years. Of. The point the point is this is that there are costs associated developing that revenue and win the players behavior or when when the when the the players union in the League encourages behavior that is deleterious to to that mission. Then what are the owners supposed to do? Gordon exactly. They locked the doors take resigning before we open this and then players you're GONNA WE'RE GONNA have to do a big restructure here. Sorry. You know this is this is not you? Not You know you're not this side of the world you guys are on the upper echelon. Of money you have succeeded in. On yourself up by your bootstrap for lack of terminology, you have made it playing a game that you love passion for three enforce your point duty not only are they a privileged class? Okay. Let I verified this I verify this last night. I made a statement that that. The NFL, the people on the NFL minimum as in rookies that that you know what we're undrafted free agents, right that are somehow made the squad, which is more powerful MAZAFA. A No experience. Rookie. Signed as a free agent this year in the League makes a minimum of six hundred, thousand dollars. Six hundred, ten, thousand dollars I then went to the Department of Labor's website guess what the average household income for Americans is as twenty twenty. Sixty, one, thousand, three, hundred. Yes. They working person would take ten eleven years to make. They're making six months show and this is not this is not an insult. I'm only going to use the label for for effect. Hacks in the NFL make ten times. The average working family does and they dare fucking lecture us about what our values should be faulk them. Big F what. Exactly. With a with capitalize all letters with with several exclamation points at the end. So that said I. Underlined and and I tell us is never. That's that said, I I wanNA give credit where it's due also understand that you know. What did I just go off on the NFL to you know to to to the end up with surprise we'll tell you why because You know even in the worst of situations, even even in the darkest night, there are rays of sunshine out gather are rays of light and I want to heap praise on two particular players, and these are the only two players. That I'm aware of have done this if any of you out there. Needed to midnight Patriot nation are aware of more please let us know. So we can give them their just desserts in their props. I want to give particular a credit to a hundred in the way of of the of the Pittsburgh steelers. Mr Villanueva is a former army ranger That said he made a big splash stirred shit storm by doing the right thing. I'm not going to get into the to the criminal that that the that the steelers. We're trying to honor Norma GonNa try to justify it didn't happen there but. Mr Vienna wave. Did something very classy He caped over the criminals name and he chose to honor sergeant first class all when cash. Now I believe I'm saying that correctly cut me some slack by brute if I if I. A brutalized his name that is not the intention. To say how I believe it's spelled. But sergeant first, class all, when. Cash. who was killed in Afghanistan? And I I, WANNA. I WANNA take. The chance to really You know he preys on on Mr Villain away for for going against the grain and for honoring in a true fallen hero on instead of instead of the criminal. So. Well on on that. The next one and probably the biggest honors of the latest give to the Jaguars tight tyler effort. I think I'm saying his name correctly also I don't think it's effort at the. But again, please forgive me if I've Jaguars fans if wrecked his name to. That being said that were I for also You know went against the grain he chose to honor the life of David Dorn David Dorn for those of you that that don't know was retired police officer. I believe it was Saint Louis. He. police chief Sir about that. He was retired police chief and he. was acting on behalf of a friend to go and check is Friends Pawn Shop. And he was gunned down he was killed Doing doing that by a felon in possession of firearm each shot this this legitimate euro From behind in the back of the head, which was incredibly cowardly act. ADORNS widow. was featured at the Republican National Convention. So those be the she told the heart wrenching story and As much as I am I gotTa tell you broaden orphee side, but he loved me misty. I was just her story about David's life was very touching and the impact on her family were simply crush. So I wanNA other drove I drove home the point. Your choice exact life exactly as what makes you? Exactly you know people people come from from bad situations and rise to great heights in as far as I know. This is the only country in the world that that can happen. Where you can make what you want of your own life. Okay. The biggest prison that we have in this country, the prison in our own minds. So A. Big Praise to do Mr Bean away and Mr for will done. I still have the continue my. My boycott because of my standards but you gentlemen have shown that there is a a ray of light in darkness. So Phoenix where you have anything to add or have we beat this to death. By by Pres for. There are people in the NFL that are serving of. Respect for me for one. Not because of their wallet or their house or their cars. But they chose stand for the national anthem. As. SOMEONE WHO Leaves in their country. Leaves in the American dream all though little hard to attain sometimes. The anthem regardless of anybody's political stance. The gentleman across the nation. And the NFL NBA MLB. I stand with you guys choose to stand in honour your country. That is. The way it is your will said. Anybody else wants that is your choice. I. Respect your choice I don't like it but I do respect it. But I stand with the gentleman who chooses stanton honor the country, the greatest country on this earth. Gives them every opportunity to excel in anything that they choose to? Like professional football or professional athletics exactly. I think it. I think it's worth mentioning here. I know we said we beat the source of, but I wanNA bring up another topic to. Weird Midnight Patriots all of us. May disagree with with what someone says, but we would fight to our desk to protect their their right to say those words. That being said I think one of the other things that the public is piss pot tired of is the privileged wealthy assholes. Being able to have different sets of rules at their workplace than we do. In the Corporate World in William and most smaller companies you do not have. You do not have freedom of speech. Okay. You will be shown the door if you bring up politics religion, etc etc. Okay. With social justice causes or otherwise. They can show you the door. Okay and I don't think I don't think it's Ok these. Use Their their platform on the field or in any way while a uniform to promote their agenda. Okay. Now, I think you and I would agree with this if the NFL Players Association wants to get together and host either a live event or televised event. when they are not playing and they're out of uniform. And they want to tackle these issues donate money to causes give away money whatever I think that would be a perfectly acceptable display. That's fine. Okay. But I think the reason they don't is they know that the cause is a loser. Okay. They're not willing to risk their own money you know to they're not willing to put their money with their mouths are in order to have their protests but but you know somehow everybody else should just shut up and and honor was they're trying to do and I think that that is excellent. You know policy at its finest end. America's PISS POT tired of turning channel I. think that's a big factor as well. As your thoughts unfortunately mean here to. Drive your point. I could see. Getting together having one big party fundraiser l. have running toe board. Hey, you know we're raising all this money great or even several. Yeah Go. But the reason but the reason they're doing it on television is because they can reach a mass audience all at once. But. They haven't had. They had the NFL network. If. The shows a winner, they could sell it to their to their allies in the media. WHO's to say ESPN would cover it. You know for God's sake ESPN has the SP one of the worst ward Joe's ever. Okay and if they want to go up to that into a social justice show fine. Go right ahead or create when like it again. Fine. Or if you know even Amazon or Netflix wants to pick up something about you know the S J W 'cause in the NFL an interview players follow players around their charitable work while they advance these causes grace go ahead I mean I think what they'll find his a there's no interest in be nobody cares they approach it that way that we far less backlash in their their incomes would be far safer than if they continue down this path. the ratings would actually come back to a more normal. That's where I'm talking about I. Mean there are only cutting their own throats by doing it the way they're doing it that that's all I have to say. So that's a wrap for this midnight. N.F.L. Declines to Suspend Tyreek Hill After Domestic Violence Investigation

"The Kansas City chiefs have dealt with domestic violence with a few different players. But without a doubt right now the most prominent is star wide receiver tyreek Hill. I can you tell me about tyreek hill as a player and what he brings to the chiefs. Offense tyreek Hill is one. One is the most dynamic exciting explosive most fun to watch players in the NFL. He's very small wide receiver. If you were to Stanek some at the grocery store you wouldn't look at the sky and say wow he's an NFL player but when you get them on the football field key is arguably faster than anybody anybody else in the NFL. What he's able to do when he gets the ball in his hands and space weather? That's catching a pass from Patrick mahomes down the middle of the field. The Thai Rico. Taking jet sweep out of the backfield or catching a punt or kickoff return kill to the outside electrify in for the touchdown. He's one of the most exciting players in the NFL and he's expected to play a major role in the super bowl on on Sunday Probably being guarded by Richard Sherman. Can you describe what the matchup with the niners is GonNa look like yet. It should be a really great matchup between tyreek Hill and Richard Chairman. Who is the star? Cornerback for the San Francisco. Forty niners and one of the most interesting XS. and Os schematic thing. That's going on right now. Is How the chiefs are GonNa find ways to get tyreek hill away from Richard Sherman. Because they don't WanNa throw against Richard Sherman so the goal will be to find ways to get the ball to tyreek hill. Line him up in different places get him the ball and creative ways so that. They're not putting him in one on one situations against one of the best. quarterbacks and football tyreek hill was making headlines even before he ever played a single. NFL Game. Can you tell us about his college career and the incident that happened in December of two thousand fourteen yes tyreek hill kind of had a winding college football journey. He actually started at a community college and Kansas before enrolling at Oklahoma state and in his first year at Oklahoma state in two thousand fourteen he became a star immediately really because of his ridiculous speed his strength as a special teams players apart. returner this but late. In his only a year at Oklahoma state he was arrested and accused of domestic violence in an incident with his girlfriend who is twenty years old at the time and he was accused of Punching Ching her choking her and also punching her in the stomach while she was pregnant. tyreek hill was brought here to the pain county jail. His arrest comes just one week after for he was the hero of the bedlam game. So is arrest on the charge and almost immediately was dismissed from the Oklahoma State football team. He pleaded guilty into this domestic violence. Charge in addition to a battery charge and he was sentenced to three years probation. He was also instructed to go to anger management counseling to undergo domestic violence counseling. Although he was never sentenced to jail time He was able to continue his college football career when he enrolled at the university. I see of West Alabama. That's a division two school and then in April of two thousand sixteen sixty fifth in the two thousand sixteen. NFL draft against it achieves slack. Sorry Cal Wide Receiver West Alabama so it was a surprise. Actually that tyreek Hill was drafted because in in two thousand sixteen. We were still not that far removed from the Ray Rice scandal and you know tyreek Hill at kind of become kind of a poster child for a guy who got in trouble while in college in he. He was seen as one of those type of guys whose character red flags made him undrafted. He's had some issues domestic violence issue that that frankly frankly I thought might keep him from being drafted. This guy has blazing speed but the Kansas City chiefs went ahead and drafted him anyways. They drafted him in the fifth round in large part because of his forty or dash ty which was four point two nine seconds which is elite speed one of the fastest times that at any NFL players have run in years and what the reaction when he's drafted. It was pretty negative. We have to remember that. The Kansas City chiefs went through one of the most horrific horrific incidents in recent. NFL history in two thousand twelve. When one of their players linebacker named Jovan belcher killed his girlfriend and then committed suicide right in the parking lot of the chiefs training facility belcher turned one of those guns on Perkins reportedly shooting her nine times at the home? The couple shared with their three month Old Daughter the child was spared. This is a wound that was still very raw in the Kansas City community. You know very tragic senseless murder suicide aside and here the chiefs are drafting tyreek Hill player. who had pleaded guilty to very violent crime against his pregnant pregnant girlfriend and so it was? It was largely negative response especially from from female fans from the survivor community. I find that really frustrating that We're still holding up these celebrities As you know oh working on things things are getting better. We don't know what she's going through. And it's important to note that when Giovane Belcher thing happened Andy. Reid was not the head coach of the chiefs yet but he was tyreek Hill was drafted. And what's the response from from. I'm Andy Reid and from the chiefs front office when they start to see some of this backlash you know. The immediately held a press conference and tried to talk about all of the work that they had done into studying tyreek hill. Well we have our due diligence. We're regards to fooling vetting. Each one of our draft class members. They spoke to WHO His coaches and they also spoke to the prosecutors from Oklahoma in the domestic violence case and they said all right we. We believe that this guy i. I won't get in trouble again before given the opportunity for a second chancellor on the right things and so he's he's been in counseling. Continue to be in counseling. We've got a great support system here for that and that he would be a model citizen and largely for his first couple of years in Kansas City he was and despite this pushback that they're getting from fans both in Kansas City and across the country Tyreek Hill remains on the chiefs after after. He's drafted and he starts this season as punt returner. How does his rookie season go? Spectacularly from football perspective the open field. He's they're gonNA take special chance to sit in started out as kind of a wide receiver. Who is kind of buried on the Dutch art? But he was their primary punt returner and within a couple months of his rookie year. If you went to a game at Arrowhead you would see fans wearing that number ten tyreek Hill Jersey and every time that he would go back to catch a punt. You would hear in unison. Fans at Arrowhead stadium chanting tie wreak tie reek and he would feed off of it. The crowd would feed off of this energy. And you know. It didn't take long before. He became one of the most beloved players on the chiefs roster because of his football prowess and in spite of the ugly history that he had coming into the NFL and in the next few seasons go after the two thousand sixteen season so as far as football it only continued to get better for tyreek hill so as a rookie. He was primarily early. A special teams player. You know we mostly just saw him returning punts and doing a fantastic job of that. He was an all pro his rookie year. But you know after that first season he became the chiefs number one wide receiver. They moved him from a special teams roll into a role where he was going to be a major part of their offense and he handled that Smith winds up getting Franch Kansas City. He exceeded everybody's expectations as a wide receiver. She became at that point. The most important piece in the chiefs offense and then in March of last year tyreek Hill is back in the news with new allegations of child abuse. tyree kills three year. Old Son suffered a broken arm in March of Twenty nineteen. And how this this child broke his arm. That is the big question and that was what investigators in Kansas where tyreek hill his fiancee. The mother of his son were living living and ultimately nobody has determined how the child suffered this broken arm in April after about a month of investigation the district attorney in Johnson County. Kansas Released a statement that while he believed a crime had been committed they did not have evidence that can conclude Who who the perpetrator was? So that meant that it could have been tyreek hill. It could have been his fiancee. It could have been a caregiver a short time later. The case from a criminal perspective respective was ruled inactive the NFL's investigation and the Department of Children Family Services. Their investigations continued however and then the day after the district attorney in Kansas declines to press charges audio between Hill and his fiancee is released. What you'd rather him somehow or he fell one of the two? Then why does say deputy. Why Oh and just to clarify for listeners? Be Fiance Crystal. That he's talking to on this recording is the same woman that he pled guilty to abusing in college. Yes initially in April liberal part of this audio recording released and it was very damaging to tyree count. You could hear tyreek Hill could parading his fiancee. You know using threatening language is terrified of you and you say that he respects you but it's not it's not respect it's terrifying. He is terra of we need to be terrified of and the immediate reaction to that in the media from from kind of within the NFL world was how could they not charge him. After this month's later the full audio recording was released which you know didn't didn't necessarily tyreek Hill in a better light but it kind of even out the conversation a little bit reports he wrote. And if you want to rewind that night we can rewind that night to my house and pick you up and slam you know picked up and put out on my door and after that you've built bruises come from tyree waited the bruises. Come Out I'm asking. Where did the bruises come out to hit Youtube? You too and it was full audio recording that I believe is really the key piece of evidence for the NFL that led the NFL to their decision. To not ultimately punished honest. I recall after this investigation.

"You are responsible for it yesterday. Yes. Not a fiasco. But what do you mean go because you're not going to you're going to deny if he asked what? Because you're the one responsible is that what you're claiming Scott Walker was filling in for me. And apparently he waited forever to give the five o'clock word out of the spring. Green cash conned and apparently all sorts of people complained to the point that they still complaining today to Jay Webber. I don't know. He's telling he's telling me about it. He he's he's telling me about it. Anyway, the thing that was funny about it is apparently, according to some I don't know when Scott gave the word out, but it was later than some people wanted. I heard five thirty min pulses and was closer to five twenty whatever it was just get a beautiful opponent. Is we got a winner of that our? The longer you wait to say the word, the more people, obviously are going to be listening to hear it. I always say five o'clock or a little bit. After a little is in the era of the beholder. Some people will do it exactly at five. So everybody knows what it is. Well, then somebody who misses it by five seconds. The purpose of this contest is to get people to listen to the radio station. That's why the company does it drives listenership people to tune in. And listen everybody is free to give out the word at the way that they want. They do have to follow the rules of the company establishes, which is that it can only be given once, and we are not allowed to give it out via the phone or any other format other than the time that it is stated on the earned. We have to read at a slavers. And so on beyond that, you're kind of free to do it. When it is that you want to do it. And I really like the fact that they give you all the way to the end of the following our to get it in. So that people are texting while driving. Add even if you hear the word a little bit late. You still have a lot of time. To get it in and so on anyway, Scott was doing the show yesterday and Makasi of Waukesha was the winner. Here's the word for this hour. It is van V A N van van text that to two hundred two hundred anytime between now and six o'clock. Just text the one time you can win a thousand dollars. You'll get a text confirming entry, plus iheartradio, info standard data and message rates apply. In this nationwide. Contest. It's remarkable lasting as long as I have on this show. Just about everything I've ever said as been proven, correct? I just have to lasted thirty years at order for it to get there. There are some sayings. I say all the time. We act we. We react more strongly to that that we see that that we merely here about how many times have you heard me say this. A million. It's just true. It's even more true than I realized I talk a lot about I keep forgetting his name who was the football player for Baltimore. They're running back who beat up the say the element. Ray rice, always want to make his last name hill. Ray rice. I mean athletes have beating up women as long as men have been beating up women and as long as an athletes, and we've looked the other way at that problem forever. The problem. Does it is it limited to athletes? Some women have been beating up men for a long time men have been beating up women. I think in the sports world, it might be a little bit more of an issue because relationships with so many groupies and all of this stuff, and athletes, and athletes tend to be younger just all the stuff that would add to it. But I'm sure it goes on in the music business, entertainment, business, politics, etc. We have almost never been bothered by an athlete who is a domestic abuser prior to Ray rice. And since then we've responded to a few stories players get suspensions, but nobody cared. The difference. Was we saw the Ray rice thing at we're going to be seeing way more of these in the future because we live in a world in which there are cameras everywhere as it Florida for a few days actually made a point of trying to notice the cameras now just curious as to where they all are. Paul. There's a camera everywhere. I look everywhere. I was I think that there was a camera. I mean everywhere streets hotels elevators. Very controversial about hotel rooms they don't want to put them in there. I think that they should. But I understand the voyeurism problem that would stop people from doing it. I'm an advocate of them. Anyway. The point of bringing up the story here. About how we react more strongly to that that we see than that that we merely here about. There's a movie out right now. That has astonishing buzz. I can't tell you the number of people have mentioned to me. It's being talked about by everyone who has ceded the universe of people who have seen. It is going to be limited given the nature of the movie. But it's premise proves the point that I make about that that we we react more strongly to that that we see than that that we merely here about he knows that I'm talking about probably a lot of people do. The movie is the story of Abby Johnson. Who is a remarkable woman. The name of the movie is called unplanned. It's in a number of theaters around the United States right now in Milwaukee. It's a bunch of the Marcus theatres, if you others you can check your listings for just about everybody has an app or something to check. We'll be listening. But here in southeastern Wisconsin. It's at a number of the places that I won't list at all. And it's a distribution across the United States. Abby Johnson was a high mucketty mucks for Planned Parenthood..

"Commissioner. Executives players. Information. Fair. So we're going to wait for the facts, which is going to happen. And I would think that before the season starts that Bob Kraft is going to face a suspension and a fine. Yeah. I do too. I mean, one Goodell says we're gonna wait for the facts at I think, it's just we're going to wait until we decide what we want to do not really we're gonna waiting for all this information that come. They just do it when they wanna do don't need to wait for the court proceeding Florida, which by the way craft officially pleaded not guilty yesterday. And he wants a trial by jury crafted that because the the NFL usually does wait till the judicial system doesn't think and then we'll suspend them will suspend. So what Kraft did yesterday if he's exonerated? He's going to face a suspect we may. But I think this may push it just far enough down the line when he gets to go there for week one and watch the banner raced because if you passing through this trial along that to get the trialing exactly get the child actually going because apparently judges don't like to work in the in the summer in the summer, and he has three high priced lawyer. That may have other obligations down the road kick the can down the road, maybe late September October. He at least gets to be there for game. One and gets the red be suspended the second half of the Bill. I don't think the NFL particularly cares when we're another about when the trial starts, they usually wait until someone's they didn't with Zeke Elliott or they're not. There's no there was nothing. I think they'll just do it when they want to do it. But they've waited for people in the past. Until someone found not guilty or guilty, whatever. And then they'll suspend you. Well, let's think back though, it took going to court after the suspension with Brady Brady was already suspended, then he went to court. So that worked in reverse where already there's a this is a criminal case, right? Not an NFL. The only reason bracing winter quarters because he was suspended. Oh, it wasn't a court thing to begin with this thing to begin with. So I think they're they're waiting flipped Adrian Peterson go to court. No, no, let me think for a second. He was the entire year. I believe not. And without what's his face Kareem hunt. The woman didn't there was no charges or anything. Ray rice. I don't think they particularly care one way or another just lost much. If it goes to court doesn't go to court, whatever they deem as all the facts, which could be nothing they'll they'll just do it on their own. Just don't be surprised if they wait until. I would be surprised if they suspend them tomorrow. There's that's the thing. But Roger Goodell says he's waiting for all the facts. I would imagine. If you waiting for the facts, you've got to wait for the trial to happen. What he says? And what he does. Of course, of course, six allows him to do tomorrow and say we got enough we got all the fans no denying that. But I think that's what Kraft is betting on that that we can take this down the road. And that's why I want a jury trial now called me a fraud. I mean, he's a fraud. He's wishy washy he can go back and forth on whatever it could be one set of rules for owners another set of rules for players executives road. Nice. Maybe something would happen. What Kraft pulping Kim down the road? They don't suspend me until after all the stuff has been better the second half of the year. He doesn't have to sit in the owner's box. That's like kinda outside Gillette's on. So that's good. He won't get cold. I just think for him and he's been to five of them already. But I think it's a huge deal to be there for of course, I'm sure all the owners don't want him to be their game one. They're probably pushing for Goodell to act short for the season begins becomes they think that would be on. Oh, absolutely. Doesn't want him there. He's got some friends among owners, but he's got more enemies Sherman. Mostly owners don't want him to know. Or close because they're kind of the same guy it both like prostitutes. Are you sure the owners will be against capitalist because if they come out against grandma they like throwing rocks glass, but they they think that way but suffered come out against them. And then they get so. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't think they think that way I think they say, oh, I'm smarter than all the owners at the orchard day Spano. But a lot of them have Arcachon in very similar Jerry Jones. I would think is oh, I'm guessing you don't. Class. I think I'm guessing you don't get to be a billionaire without some shady stuff going on your life ever you'll want. Yeah. I agree with you Christian. You should definitely I've said this before you shouldn't throw stones in a glass house, but they'd have to they don't think that way I'll ever all these billionaire owners think they're smarter than the other guy or that they even if they're doing the same things graph. I wouldn't be so dumb as to get caught. Or right now. I want to get punished. I don't care. So we'll see how this unfolds. Meanwhile, yesterday, Bill Belichick check he took the photo with the other coaches. Of course, you saw the photo of the coaches with the course, Andy Reid sitting right in the middle at about four hundred pounds with a Hawaiian shirt loves his Hawaiian shirt. He doesn't really have ankles anymore. They're kangols go right down. But Bella check was there smiling smiling, he went to the coaches breakfast, which oftentimes doesn't and here's what happened he met with the media for about forty three minutes. He fielded one hundred sixteen questions, that's two point seven questions per minute. He said one thousand seven hundred ninety words an average of fifteen point four. Per response. His most frequent phrases were we'll see he said that twenty one times and thirteen times he says, I don't know that information came from Jeff how of the athletic so interesting stuff with Bill Belichick yesterday. But of course, one of the questions he was asked is the retirement of rob gronkowski which gronk announced on Sunday..

"And then afterwards, he'll still be a Kansas City chief, I think your prediction is correct. And it's entirely because tyreek hill is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. If he was a number three an sorry to I'm not laughing at anything that's happening laughing at the cynical reality of situation, which is he would have been gone yesterday with Ray rice. I mean, he was involved with something awful. Yes. But Ray rice handled this personally, I think about as well as yes. Hostile expect. He got out in front of it. He seemed far more contrite and upset about his own behavior certainly than the NFL. And the ravens seemed about his behavior. And he's the guy that seemed to be looking to do the most personal change within himself. He's the only guy who didn't get a chance, and he has he's done the work rice is gone out there. And he's spoken about these issues when the chiefs took tyreek hill later that season is here, I spoke, I did a story on it. And I wrote a sort of an essay, and I spoke with Ray rice. And he said man, I really hope that someday tyreek hill while he's league having amazing career because I was incredibly talented if he's truly putting in the work of changing of going to therapy of learning how to be, you know, a better person and all this stuff. I'll be talks about it up the team talks about it because these are really important things for not only players, but fans and young men to here and that hasn't happened. It's not you know, and cream home put out a statement and express the appropriate contrition this time, you know, after this special was came down, and he didn't appeal it or contested anyway. But we just simply haven't seen the dialogue move forward in any way. Since Ray rice, we've only seen t. Teams. I think move quicker to act in the face of public really sure equally inconsistent. And all it does is reinforce the idea that if they rise were at the front of his career instead of the end of it, he still now share question. So here's a question who won the offseason, but I guess it's not over yet. But so far who's won the offseason with messed up coming off this last conversation, Cleveland, I'm sorry. Oh, junior highs to the century. That's going to go down like a Herschel Walker like unless he would have to be signal. Like fifty percent of the player. He was he is that good. He is a generational wide receiver, and they got him for relatively nothing nothing. And it's a perfect team for him right now. That's what they needed. They got the young quarterback. They got the money. They got the cast face probably going to have to rework his contract or some point. They can do all of that. What a high in the second half of the season. They have a really good running banning bag on who they're paying nothing. Like, what else stated some other good things as well. Brown. Sheldon richardson. Vernon that defensive line is going to be fierce. I mean that team is the hot team for a reason. And you know, one of these things Sashi Brown was the GM in Cleveland when they were in full tank mode, and they were collecting all those draft picks. And now they've got so many draft picks to work with. And that's one of the reasons why they they had the picks to be able to choir Beckham junior. There is a real benefit to tanking drafts graphics and cast face baby. And it's not about taking it's about getting draft picks and calf space tanking is just a side effect. It's about getting AMI out lick. It is good. Let me think about that. Tanking the way. Well, listen, it's really hard to take in the NFL. Okay. It's really hard. It's hard from a business. Perspective fan base is don't tolerate the way basketball teams do but the NFL's really random you're going to win a game. Maybe you're gonna end up with third pick instead of the first whatever it things can happen. It's not like the NFL you zero in on. Different. I mean, not only were they bad and collected. All those picks..

Giants CEO apologizes after altercation with wife

"But this afternoon around noon. CEO of your San Francisco Giants Larry Baer got into a physical altercation with his wife in a public park in San Francisco. TMZ picked up the video nineteen seconds long. It's not good. Obviously, it's not good. Pam bear. Larry's wife has her phone or his phone excuse me. He goes to grab it. They get tangled up. She gets knocked to the ground. It's really what happened. I got into that. He went and grabbed the phone try to grab the phone out of a right hand. They got tangled up the chair to govern. She fell. Here's Larry bears. First statement from about two o'clock today. Regrettably today, we had a heated argument public over a family matter. We are deeply embarrassed by the situation and have resolved the issue. Here's a second statement from today. I'm truly sorry for the pain that I brought my wife children. And to the organization is not reflective of the kind of person. I that I aspire to be. But it happened, and I will never, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure that I never behave in such inappropriate manner. Again. Here's Pam bears statement. I would like to clarify the events of today. My husband, and I had an argument and public about which we are quite embarrassed. I took a cell phone. He wanted it back. I did not want to give it back. I started to get up and the chair I was sitting in began to tip due to an injury. I sustained in my foot three days ago. I lost my balance. I did not sustain any injury. Based on what happened today? They're in. I always have been and still are happily married. That's from Pam Baker. The foot thing she I I mean, I'm not saying sh-. She absolutely could have heard her foot three days ago. But that's not the reason why she fell to the ground at least from what I saw on the video. Now there it was a really weird start this entire ordeal. Because initially when it was reported. It was reported that Larry Baer dragged his wife to the ground. He did not do it. He did not drag her to the ground. Say knocked her to the ground. Okay. But it was reported to be on level ten. Like, Ray rice mad video that disturbing video. So when you see the video. Some people's initial reaction, especially the ones that I've talked to were while it's not that bad as what I I thought true, not as bad as we all I thought still pretty bad though. And you can't really eliminate. L A level when you're talking about physical altercation, and especially about altercation between a man and woman. You can't eliminate wasn't as bad. It was not level ten it's like level seven or six or five at doesn't fly with me. John's on woman heaven, I don't care if you're grabbing the grab phone paper keys. You don't do that. It looks awful. So initially it was reported to be much worse. And then people were starting to say, I it's not as bad as what? No, you're right. It's not as bad as what it was initially reported to be, but it's still pretty damn bad. And I have a problem with with certain people online talking about that. Particular part of this that it's not as bad as first reported. Well, where are we right now as a society, do do we have to see a video of a woman being hit in the face for us to go to that? For us to get to that conversation. Does she have to be hit in the face for us to say, it's a physical altercation. Is that where we're at? Because you can't do this to a woman. I'm sorry. It's very bad. Look. I don't know what's going to happen. I don't I'm just wondering where we're at. I mean, he didn't hit her. He didn't smacker. Tussled with her. And there was an altercation, and it was physical. No doubt about was a physical. You're not gonna convince me it was verbal. You know, I think it's unfair. To say, well, it's at this level, or it's not at this level. It's still a man and physical altercation with a woman wife or not. I have some questions about the video for sure. TMZ purchased the video throw it up online pretty quick, it's nineteen seconds long. But there's a coup- there's a cut in there. Edit when Larry knocks pant when Larry knocks Pam off the chair. There's a quick edit to Larry walking away, and one of the things I heard today in and actually popped into my mind when I first saw this. Why didn't Larry help his wife up? If you're not your wife to the ground. You're not good girl to the ground accident or not. You didn't help her up that looks really bad walking away. But then again, it's an edited videos of Diddy. We don't know. Did he go back after the video was over? Because every time there's a video that comes out in the news. You have to think what happened before and after because we only get a certain bit that shown to his right here. We only got one thousand nine seconds of what we know for a fact happen nineteen seconds. That's all. Multiple reports are saying that they were into an argument, fifteen minutes all the way up into that point for fifteen twenty minutes. They were arguing up to that point. So I mean, I don't know. I don't know what we're going to do with this as fans. Just a broadcasters. Just telling you how I feel and what I saw. That's all I can do how I feel and what I saw can't speculate. I'm not going to get into speculation of. Well, what goes on inside the bear house? I I don't know. I don't know. How do we know? This wasn't just a weird situation that happened. You know, you've been into an argument with your significant other. Maybe it has maybe it hasn't reached that level. It's inexcusable if it does for sure. You just don't put your hands on a woman for any reason for any goddamn reason ever. That's where that's where I'm at. Obviously, very disturbing video. Executives in sports owners and sports they should be. But they're not held to the same standard as athletes are because this if this was an athlete, white or black. We may have a more jovial tone about this. If it wasn't a giant. Because well, not jovial town. That's a really wrong thing to say. I should say the the mood around here would be a little bit lighter. Because it doesn't impact. Everybody's so much. The I retract that statement, it doesn't impact everybody's so much. So wouldn't be so down you understand what I'm saying? Is if it was an athlete, we would just be talking about it like we do everything else.

"What do the team the other is an employee, especially if it's a football player? They already view you as inmates, right? Like who are we came here? And even if here's how I feel and I'm a cynic about all this stuff. Even if they come out with some kind of. Heavy fine or whatever. Like, he go get the what's that where you where where you know, if I go to jail go to jail, but if you go to jail, it's really like a camp with the doors is a lot he go get that version of the punishment was like. Yeah, we go. Find you going to be suspended the six months. I'm sure his suspicion. Right. Right. And then when he comes back he's gonna have a job when he comes back here. You'll be Ray rice. We're right. It's like you can do every active attrition every thing possible after that. But he's done. So I don't know why we're trying to I don't know who might be the same. But this is not is not the same. Like, it literally is not the same ones to seal the company. The other is a is an employee. It wouldn't be the same at target. Definitely. It'll be the same situation. I don't even know what they would suspend him from really I mean, you can see something tangible when a player gets suspended. I mean, what are they gonna do? You can't come around. I mean, you can still be part of it. Apples apple money. We don't to see you at. We don't wanna see you like you're not allowed in the stadium. Like, so here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna pay. Vacation somewhere like. That's how I see this working out. Like, I don't wanna do me. Like both of them are going through something. That's sure incredibly serious. This is one of the worst moments of their lives. And no matter what I I like to be somebody who's merciful and see what people are going through even for the wrong with people. This is why people go visit jails because even people who do wrong deserves the mercy. So whatever he's going through. It's pretty bad. I imagine this is a rough time for him. So I'm hoping whatever he needs to get. He gets in whenever she needs to get. She gets it. But there's gotta be something. I just I just don't think it's going to be to the level. What like somebody like Ray rice experience? And maybe you should because Ray rice woman out the elevator. Like that's not the same as it has. It's a lot different. Not even close. I mean. Yeah. This isn't even close to what Ray rice did. He knocked his lady out and then stepped over and then dragged her out like she was he was taking a like, that's the part. Whereas like, I don't know it just feels like even in the rage. If you make mistakes, there's something about senior white hurt. And for me, it feels like it should be a trigger a snap to reality. Like a reminder of love like, I don't know how I could. I don't know if I saw my daughter had to say. Right. So like Ray rice, and he's like come on. Sleep like wake up like that. Just wasn't. It was the hardest. Parts of the is the hardest part to grapple that. That's how somebody used their wife, and that's just my personal thing. Because life the way I've you heard how it is. Right. So it's hard to see that other reality exists is maybe he walked away because he needed to walk away that moment if that's the case. That's great. Right. I'm glad he walked away before he did something wilder, but it was just hard to see that situation. All right. We're good. Warriors. Maybe. Yeah. You know, what's great about the war is like two hundred other really in trouble. They're in. I. Yeah. Stone. I might be the beginning of the end. Yeah. Yeah. Really go with my head. You're a bad man that you're going to bet that. I gotta see I got to see how it gets Denver. I hold on. I think they're more vulnerable this year when they get to the playoffs, and they have been they'll get there. And they might turn it on that as I told we talked to Steve, Marcus. And I said this is having a harder time finding itself they they look like five five really talented guys that go out there and play basketball a lot of nights as opposed to a team, which they bend most nights throughout the years. They did whatever it is. They're just having a harder time finding themselves this year, and they're still going to be big favorites in the playoffs. But it just it doesn't seem the same this year as it has been. And you know, what it probably shouldn't either. Right. I mean, this is this is not how this works like the risk of the league and Bruce right people like people find comfort zones and get complacent over just tough to have that maintain the same honcker. Like, that's just that's reality. Which is why if they win it would be a great feat. It won't be. Whatever. They had they had to dig deep and find it. And if they brought brought back the same players or the same scenario next year, it'll be even harder. This is this is why you don't three P, right? Is why it's so hard. So I feel like what's happening is pretty I actually think they're doing pretty well for the situation like being in the first and controller audacity, and basically everybody really knowing that is gonna take a herculean effort to to have a chance to beat them. I think they're just by. Marcus good to talk to you. I'm sure we'll talk more warriors next week have a great weekend, man. All right. Have a good one. See? Get out of here. Looking at the support. You're getting a terrible weekend. Marcus. Sincerity? I thought he was very sincere. You had your back there. Thank you does halfway not the fullback instinct point into a good point back. I pretty sincere. All right. We'll get into the conversation. If you wanted to get into an eight away came VR and the whole Larry Baer. That's the big story. Got some other stuff. "Love you told me this morning when I woke up that this would be the topic of the day. I don't think I would have believed you we're talking about Robert Kraft some crazy allegations. But he's being charged now with soliciting a prostitute in Florida, and apparently he was going to these massage places that have now been implicated in a human trafficking ring. And he wasn't just the first timer. Listen, it's tricky here when when Schefter says that there's there might be a bigger name or too involved here to speculate on that. So that's where we that's where it gets a little dicey. But at the same time this is. Too bad. Why do we need a speculative go with what we know in the story of what what there is right now. You know, if this is getting bigger than then it's really going to get ugly. Then it's really going to get out. We're going to try to get Amy dash up here in a minute idea from CBS and talk about this legal analyst. Nikki and new Rochelle's going to start us off today. Nikki what's up couple couple points. I don't hang up and listen first of all. Would would do crafts for? I would think that he would have called girls. Escort service instead of going to massage parlor, they're calling you human trafficking. I live in new Rochelle actually, Ray rice there in new Rochelle there in my hair all over the screen. They're rushing their Brazilian. It's not human trafficking Dabbagh massage. They ask you if you want. You tip 'em whatever it is. The reason why getting on the annual the second hang on a second though. Listen who knows these kinds of places are everywhere. But Maggie read something earlier off the air to us that was to me at least that was particularly interesting about the human trafficking part of it. And they're not talking about necessarily underage people talking about people that are thirties to fifties that are being human human traffic. What was that about? I like to make at eight out of ten of these places are beside the massage probably do the illegal things. So I don't understand why one opens that they don't send a copper somebody undercover and close it immediately. Why would they leave it open for a year, and you could pick everyone everyone does who. Jodi, MAC was just on and the poor guy's apologizing because he mentioned Donald Trump's name with craft. I mean this country today the people have to accept the Donald Trump is the president. Did you heat? They mentioned his name. You gotta be afraid that people aren't going to call the Paul Johnson mentioning his name to previous sad state of affairs. Nothing to do with what's going on today zero absolutely zero. Let's I don't even want to get it anywhere near that. Because it has it's not material. It's not your main to what we're talking about half of what the what the facts are reported facts are that we have right again can read a little about this. If you want me to. This is from the Polaris project. So this is a players project is basically nonprofit that wants to help a radical. Late modern day slavery. Right. It's dot org. These are people who know what they're doing. You always want to go to an expert here we are. So essentially what how this works in terms of trafficking. Usually they're women who are trafficked to massage parlors there typically immigrants that come from all over the place south East Asia. Specifically is often the case there often lied to or seriously seriously misled about the type of work they'll be doing by traffickers who know they have debts. They need to pay our otherwise, no position to say, no to a source of income once they get to the parlor traffickers step up their control with a combination of manipulation and blackmail, a woman who speaks little English whose identification documents are held by traffickers, whose finances are controlled by traffickers, and who have been transported by traffickers to an unfamiliar places told that she has a quote unquote choice to provide commercial sex or to leave and take care of herself. Final bit traffickers have told her that if she leaves no one will help her. That the police are corrupt. They won't listen to her or believer that she'll be arrested for prostitution or deported. And that her family will be told the shameful story that she's working in the sex industry in the United States. And we'll be required to pay off her debts given this situation. There's no real choice for the victim either. She stays the bizarre parlor abiding by the rules, set by the trafficker or risks losing everything. And I mean that just lays out just how this happens. And if you're not familiar with what we're talking about that thought that crystallized it very, well, if anybody that's traveled the world who only speaks English and myself going over to other places, not being able to communicate how helpless that is of a filling then knowing that you're somewhere illegally a place that you're not familiar with you don't know where to find people that help you people that you can communicate with what do you do? What are your options? Yeah. Actually that you're a single woman with a child right turn yourself in. And they get sit back to the same place that you try to run from like, what are you do said back to the calls James in Connecticut. You'll be with us in a couple of minutes here. Hey, Jim, how are you? Good. How are you? Thanks for taking my call chomping at the bit here two points, if I can make them I bought you want to get rid of the human trafficking, Australia Day. If you do it Nevada, you make prostitution illegal, and then the demand for those girls is gone. Okay. I can think Robert Kraft. Eight a woman for sex broke the law now if he had say oh Bill ballot. Check videotape. It and posted the porn up. No, lots of been broken. Oh, go ahead. I'm gonna let that around here. Minute. Really care too. Because I don't know what has to be anything. Maybe Amy shed some light on the laws are different. We're over to here. John Denver, John. What's up? I'll tell you to help you guys out here. First of all, you know, it's is definitely avenue. To these women, you know with sex, Dr king. I don't deny that by bar. I do want to disagree with you a little bit. This had nothing to do with football activities. I hate the patriots as much as you buy, you know, taking away draft picks taking away doing something. That would hurt the football working today. House. Can you? I'm sorry. Go ahead. You say no there was no spider. Who is? He was out of the state. It was a personal thing that he was doing the NFL should find him. And there should be some, you know, some sort of discipline, you know, against him in the organization so tell you this way draft pick one of you getting in trouble for doing something illegal, and they take our whole show up the ass. Right. So tell me this what happens to a team if a player gets caught with DWI. They suspend the player, right? Is that not hurting hurting the team by taking one and pretend to when their best players? All right. You take away from team doesn't hurt. The teen choice made a personal. For what you did is conduct detrimental on the football conduct detrimental. So. Jim Irsay did is, you know, do you think his, you know, his his disciplined with fair? No on wasn't even started. Oh, you finding a billionaire five hundred thousand dollars is pocket. Change. Pocket change, especially somebody like, that's a billionaire. What's five hundred thousand dollars? They just write that off in their taxes as a loss. It does. Absolutely nothing. What message does that send? So now, you wanna tell the players that they supposed to abide by rules, but you own inspect the owners to abide by rules. So how do you? How do you heard him? You heard his business in his businesses winning football games. Right. So that's how you come after him you. So what do you do just say, okay? Don't be around the team. So he can watch your games from his mansion. So if you're in this position, though, if you're if you're the league. It very very tricky. As to how to deal with this because you can look at this as she charged with a felony. Technically what he's done is he charged with a misdemeanor is soliciting in Florida a misdemeanor or Philly. What's going on? I mean, there's there's a lot of different parts of this. They that loses job for that. He did NFL network. Right. He lost his job. So owner can't lose their job. From owning the team unless you force them the team. All right. Let's bring Amy dash from CBS legal analyst who joins us right now are any what first of all. Have you been able to surmise at of everything that we've heard so far, it's Carlin? Megan Barth, by the way, thanks for. Sure. Thanks for having me on. So basically Bob Kraft has not been arrested. But what happened is this was an undercover sting? They have video evidence of the sex acts being performed on him allegedly. That's what the cops are saying on two separate occasions. He went into a day spa in Jupiter Florida, and he had sex X performed on him caught on tape. So now what they've done is. They've filed charges for solicitation of prostitution charges are with the district attorney's office in Florida and a district. Attorney is going to decide whether to issue a warrant for his arrest are they felony charges? Or are they misdemeanor charge meaner charges? Okay. So there's. No minors were involved and no minors were involved. There's no indication or any way that he's part of the ring. This is simply he's. Customer customer. That's it. Right. But the police chief did have some damning comments basically saying that everybody who's part of this as culpable for the ring as the people who organized at the ring, and the rationale is that if their customers, then there's going to be no human trafficking is that one of those things where people say ignorance is not a defense. Yeah. I mean, there's no question here because there was an exchange of money for sex acts that were performed on camera. So I mean to claim that you had no idea that was what was going on. When when you're caught in the act that's not going to be a possible defense, I met as far as the ring like should did he necessarily would Robert Kraft be expected to understand that there could be human trafficking going on behind? I mean, I think that's what your point. That's a great point. And I think that's why he's there are no charges connected to the actual ring. This is just a straight solicitation of prostitution charge. Because how would he know Amy? What's going on down there in south Florida right now? How this is connected to the Jeff F Epstein stuff that we've heard a little bit about the news..

"The only thing that you would hope is that he he has changed his life, privately he has been scorn publicly. So there's there's a certain level of contrition that you have to go undergo in the public eye. But as as long as you're going behind the scenes as well and getting help for whatever issue that you may have a lot of people may not like that. And I'm not forcing anybody to you know, forgive him. We'll bring him back. I've seen I've seen what domestic abuse can do to families, you know. And I've seen you know, I've I've had a cousin who is to go visit out in jersey who had a boyfriend that beat her to death. So like these things they ring true in an in very specific instances for each person who has asked. Okay, what do you feel about this or how do you feel about this? Every answer is going to be different. And I don't know that anyone is wrong in the end. He is employed. You will be employed by the Cleveland Browns. He will be an NFL player again. And I don't think there was any any two ways about that. We all knew that he would be going to happen Sarah Spain, and Jason golf it's Spain and Fitz on ESPN radio. We had a feeling a team would move quickly to take him on. You mentioned position that fans are being put in. I think people who are who understand the issues relating to assault the differences between assault and domestic bouncers will get into later. But this this kind of incident in general understand that it's not simply about public contrition wherein. We do not understand the work. That's being done behind the scenes, and it's not just about doing the work for many fans, it is about transparency because if you speak to experts in understanding how you stop recidivism. It's not just saying that you've changed. It's an accountability that you acknowledged that you had a role in it that you were the cause of it. It's a desire to change. And then it's actively taking steps. To change the root cause of it. So simply saying, I know better now, just everyone should no matter. What happens? So what was the reason? Why is this your reaction? And as I said, we'll get to why this is different than probably the root causes of other incidents. We've talked about Ray rice or Jovan Belcher Reuben foster on this is a very different case. We'll get into that. But quickly John Dorsey, the Browns GM just spoke, and he said this about hunts remorse. I'm sure one of the plants at we'll have moving forward here. I can't I know that he is actually sought professional counseling here the weekend a weekend basis part of the plans that will be placed here is being able to outreach to the community on a weekly basis for. Yeah. And I think community outreach and public acknowledgement of the change that he feels he is undergoing is the key and many people out. There are going to say he doesn't oh you that. I'm not saying he is I'm saying if you expect. I hope that fans will root for someone in your uniform. It's not enough to simply say, they're sorry. And they're different. You have to show it. And that's why transparency is such a big part of it is bien rate is presented by progressive insurance. "Leader studios in downtown San Francisco. Here's your host grew hopper. Our number two here on can't our tonight. I appreciate you so much for hanging out with me eight away kmby are is the number just recap. What we've been talking about the last hour Bryce Harper giants. You want to jump in on that conversation can be are. We're talking a f- from this weekend. Football wasn't bad at eight. Thirty Jennifer Lee Chan from NBC sports bay area's going to hop on. She'll give us her thoughts about that. Also news in the NFL Kareem Hans got a job again. He's playing for the Cleveland Browns. Although we will not know exactly what he's gonna hit the field again. But very interesting situation. I was really disappointed with the NFL in how they handle that situation. I mean when it comes to any kind of assault domestic disturbance domestic violence. They stick a little bit more time in examining. Again. I go back to the video the video comes out. I thought sincerely that that was the dagger for your career in the NFL to seem to be with Ray rice. But not the case for Kareem. Behind is going to be playing for the Cleveland Browns at some point. All right. I want to get to Cuyler Murray who today said that he is fully committing a life to being a quarterback in the NFL what a blow to baseball or is it because you just trying to examine this entire situation. And he's been in the spotlight for weeks. Now, we've talked about Carla Murray and this decision for a very long time almost seems like it's gone on for way too long. But today, the decision comes out, and the reason I think it goes on way too long as basically how this entire situation has been handled by him and his camp at Dan, Patrick radio appearance was really awkward how dodged questions was silent on pro days and combines. I think I mean, I don't want to believe this report F people a lot of outlets are saying that the collar Murray situation when it comes to family members, very similar to Lonzo and lavar ball, which isn't good news for the NFL. But a lot of people a lot of people have said, it's it's like it's like lavar ball all over again with his camp dictating on what he's going to do. And what he's going to say. Well, we haven't heard from his dad too much. Like, lavar ball them challenged. Not yet. We haven't exactly right now. We haven't heard from Mr. Murray just yet. But I'm I'm sure we will especially when the draft gets closer start creeping up. I mean, I think he learned his lesson. Maybe he's a I wouldn't say a bad influence, but maybe has his self interests with his son self interest to mine, but they have picked a very lucrative route. Now, obviously, this is also the route that's in Cairo Murray's hearts. You can't fault them for it at all. No. But I wonder what is going to do going forward for clubs baseball clubs that is drafting guys who are dual sport athletes sucks to hear that really really crushed a lot of things your franchise. And you're the guy you're drafting is a rockstar and football and baseball and wants to play football. Would you be a little hesitant now? Because where's this? Where's this hard at? Absolutely I feel like it's a huge situation. Now, just because you have to double think, it you have to make sure where their heart is where their mind is. I mean, it's going to get to a point now where you're like, okay. If this could maybe be Heisman candidate or be national champion, or or this that or the other thing, it's going be a think twice about it. And maybe we'll get him in the second or third or fourth round. And that's gonna end up swaying him to another side. And I feel bad for the as I do I feel bad for the as what was he drafted eighth overall? As just you're not gonna get any compensation for that. Because he signed his deal. He's going to have to give back portion that money he forfeits, I think three point four million March first from the as. To go after this NFL dream, but Lamar Jackson may eight what nine million dollars. So caliber is going to get some cash for. Sure, he absolutely is. But it's what he wants to do. I think the most lucrative route. I mean, it's it's pretty credible that he's going to be the first person ever drafted. It could be in the first round of both the NFL and major league baseball. He was ninth overall in eighteen with the as and if he goes in the first round that'd be the first time ever happened. That's pretty impressive. But the fact that he chose football. That is that's what I want to know what's going to happen later on with that. Now like I'd mentioned with teams may be a little bit more hesitant on guys who play football. They're not totally engaged in and willing to sit there and baseball because the route, you know, this FPU told me about this those Franny the route to baseball and football completely different. He's gonna have to sit on a bus for three years e- peanut butter and jelly sandwiches enroll around stocked in Lehigh valley. Wherever he needs to go to play minor league baseball. Whereas in the NFL, the spotlights are immediately on the shine is on. I mean, I think you can handle the pressure, but he picked out route baseball so grind you have to love baseball. Love football too, though. Because a lot of people he can play both. No, he can't he cannot play both not if you're going to be a quarterback in the NFL. That's a twelve month job. We all know that it's a case by case basis. There's some guys in the big. Leagues that were just so good that they just cut through the minor leagues. Like a hot knife through butter and they got to the big leagues they didn't have to do the grinding aspect of it. But if you look at Cuyler Murray, and you see a swing. It's very long. He's got a lot of work to do. He's going to be there for a couple of years, and he only had really one or two good seasons. You didn't really start until his junior year at Oklahoma. And he's got a big leg kick. It can get very even promising him a an appearance in the show. No. Well, well, now, we know is going to the NFL to me. This is a question. I have everybody kind of knew he's going in the NFL, which makes me think nobody probably saw him swing a bat in a couple of months. There's no way he probably didn't pick up a baseball for like five or six months. You probably didn't pick up a glove or baseball bat is so many people were on. That's like everybody was. That's why I think he was dodging those questions in in the interviews because I think we both know that I think he didn't pick up a glove or a bad thing. He concentrated solely on football. Baseball is not that sport. Even if you're a dual sport athlete. I'm sure you could talk to. Any dual sport athlete that played at that level. Like that you have to still be in the cage you still have to get your reps out in the field. You still have to throw a baseball. Even though it's a different story motion. You could still go back and forth from football. So not not that so much, but more the swing the swing is the hardest thing to maintain the world unless you have a God-given swing like Carlos Gonzales where you can just wake up out of bed. Just hit a bomb? It's very very rare. So to me, I feel like everybody knew this was coming just based on how much work is putting in baseball. Maybe just wasn't in the cage. That's the question. I have. And maybe he just goes. Okay. I gotta show up to a spring training. Have all this momentum in football right now. Why would I try to flip the switch and go back to that? When I know that I have something going and football or I just have to restart all over again, I had one or two good seasons to confirm can maybe play at the professional level. But I'm a Heisman Trophy winner. Now. So I know I can compete at this level and that goes back to the love. But I think it's more of a momentum thing to go. I just went again, I wonder how this can affect players going forward with franchises guy gets drafted in the MLB draft that teams won't allow him to play football that season. I I can see things like that happening who expect the Keller Murray to win the Heisman that anybody. I mean that wasn't it. I think it came to a shock came as a shock to the as as well. Well, I mean and Baker Mayfield win at the year before crack. Yeah. Exactly. So to back QB's Heisman Trophy winners not a chance. Right. But it happened. Let's go to Dan in Arizona. Been waiting on the line patiently. What's up? Dan yorke. Cambier? Hey, guys. Hey, just had some thoughts on on Bryce Harper contract that I would go after him. This is what I would do. I would do a ten-year. Three hundred thirty million dollars. That's three for the first five years. I'd frontloaded thirty five million a year. The last five would be at thirty one million year remaining. I'd have a club option in the six year with a twenty million dollar buyout. So the giants don't want him because he's not he's fading. They can buy him out twenty million. If he's doing great. It'll be a bargain thirty one million six years from now 'cause the cost. What year in this ten year deal? Did you have the first opt out? I'm just curious. I'm just writing this down. Well club option would be the at the end of five years, and I give Bryce a three at the end of three years a player option to opt out because, hey, if we get him for three years, it keeps the fan base alive while they're still a little bit of a corridor gives a chance, and then you got all the other money off the books you've got some larger on you've got Plato gone. You got bar up. You got romo's. You got a lot of momentum after three years, but they really really need them for a lot of reasons right now and get him. I think they gotta they gotta be better than everybody else. Man. I don't know about ten year though. I just I'm just so you got on a fan of that at all. Drew at the end of five years, the club could buy out and say, hey, we're not gonna pay the remaining one hundred fifty five we're just gonna buy you out at twenty million. I don't I don't even know if he would accept that. I mean, you when did you give them the off that after three years? No doubt player option after three years club has the option to get out of the contract. After by the I Don, I don't know. You know, what I think the route's going to be, Dan? This is what I think they're going to do. I think they're going to do exactly what's being reported today. I think they're gonna go short term offer a say three hundred million dollars. That's the figure I've been hearing about the most three years one hundred million dollars. Let's just see I like the route in the mind change that we've been on the last couple of days really since the weekend started it really has been since the weekend started when Bryce Harper started to make this round trip around the majors the see. Well, okay. It's not going my way for the first. Couple of months is hot stove thing isn't working out. It hasn't been working for anybody. Really? I mean, this baseball season's terrible. And it's one thing I do want to address at some point this evening..

"We will support Kareem through this process. Utilize our resources, however, permitted to help them become successful on and off the field as long as he continues to show the commitment necessary to represent this organization. Now that is as bad as up as you're going to get that was not written by John. Dorsey that is is somebody that they went to them and said, okay, help us get this output. Put a spin on this that will allow us some political cover if Kareem messes up again, I'm torn on this because I do believe in second change too. I just don't think that he should get one. This Greg's point that he should get one this soon. And that's where the NFL comes in the NFL can say, look we understand that you want to use a roster spot on Kareem hunt. But we don't have to let him on the field. And half of our customers are women and Ramona how many shows that we done how many times have you and me, and Ben and everybody talked about how many times the NFL gets these things wrong. Comes down like like, they they they should start their own crisis PR firm because in Ray rice was a good example of that the way they handled that whole Ray rice, the difference between Ray rice and Kareem hunt is that Ray rice was at the end of his career and Kareem hunt is twenty three had Ray rice been Twenty-three. You bet he would have been back in football. They would let him back on the field. Now the question is do they let Kareem hunt back on the field this season. And it's gonna be really interesting. You know, there's a lot of I talked to a lot of players about this too. Like, my, you know, my point before like talk to him in see listen to the what what women say about this and try to hear the other point of view like you you can't put yourself in another person shoes. And sometimes you hear things like don't ever hit a woman, and you just have to trust whoever taught you that at told you that. But there's a reason why people say that. And there's an it helps if you talk to women about domestic. Violence or about even if it's not to Mr. crowds. Even if it's just a man who is much bigger and stronger and forceful talking to you in an aggressive way. Like, I've had that happen with people in my life. Like when a when a man gets angry. And it's it's scary for a woman, I'm a jock. And I get scared like I like I'm not going to be able to win that one. And I don't want to even try to win that one. Now, we're talking about this is just a regular guy that we're talking about NFL player who's much bigger and stronger, and and let's face it. The guys anybody who would do what he did has mental problems. I mean, you can you can look the other way on it. But you have a mental I was in moral. I mean, somebody did not teach you that under no circumstances. You can you ever hit a woman? But it also is when it comes down to this, John it's like I believe in second chances. But I haven't heard from Korean I've every heard from him and saying, you know, part of a statement today, but in very very. I'd be prepared. And I also sympathize with professional athletes who get targeted by by either women or other people like, I know guys go to a club and people try to take them. When you work for us Marcellus Wiley had a great story that you know, he was breaking up with a girl and she didn't want to break up with them. He's going to do it right here in our backyard in Cleveland, Ohio everyone around here is phones are blowing up all my buddies. It's it's just a great day. Now, really? Oh, are you not concerned about his history? What not concern one bit not concerned one bit? He's going to be playing in this. I mean, you know, it was nothing like the Ray rice incident. Okay. I feel personally. But you know, it was domestic and there were a few skeleton. You're finding out in the in the past. But I mean, if the the kid the I think he's been in programs already trying to trying to do the right thing. He's young. And he and he's bottom line is he's a stud, then guys the bottom line of all this is the Browns were coming and people better turn around and watch was there. They're going to be coming in next couple of years. I'll say this. What does concern me is? I mean, this the hotel where this incident took place in Cleveland. I mean, he's going to be playing. It's almost like sometimes you need that that distance that space, it'd be removed from whatever influences might be in an area that might bring you down or draw the worst or where several in a bit more leverage being your normal human being hers and actions. Yeah. Exactly. All right. Paul. Thanks for calling this evening Smith show. On ESPN radio. Why don't we get back to what we've been teasing for an hour thirty four here as we continue on. And it was largely the the NBA storyline over the weekend. Again that Magic Johnson. He went with his Lakers team to Philadelphia damage control resident of best while ops usually do that. But he went by coastal. He went over to Philadelphia, and he dressed the media held little mediaeval ability talking about the trade deadline and talking about the pelicans in how the Anthony Davis. Trade conversations went there was a there was a question directly. We're going to hear part of it here in this little piece of sound. We wanna play where he's asked about how he felt about things be made. So public certainly not by the Lakers. But by the pelicans, here's Magic Johnson. Nowhere has art. You guys had a deal big. Oh, she aided in public in the media of wondering if felt like that was maybe counterproductive to know point you've got to try and get her to learn anything and all that process all deal. So I know that he was smiling for a lot of this. But you said that that's doesn't mean things are great. It just means. That's who magic is. It definitely means to magic is. And I think of the Lakers, and I keep getting me, even I wish I could have showed it to you. It's like the burning house, and there's rob and magic and LeBron sitting in it and one thing I like about this situation. A Magic Johnson is obviously a lot of people are being critical about his potential to land someone to play with LeBron. Right. But what he's saying? And I think a lot of people confuse his magnanimous nature with an his his kindness in his smile and his warmth. You forget that he's he's a competitor. And he's like, hey, I know this was not a good situation for you young guys to be in. But guess what? This is the realities of the business. I understand better than most. "And a Cleveland hotel surfaced. So he's getting a second chance. I'm Joe mixon from the Bengals was one of those guys that's been basically, given a second chance on the heels of domestic violence Ray rice, though, if you remember, right? He was a running back for the ravens in his career was ended because of this and this video of him in the in the elevator. Remember that where he and I actually watched it again. He left hooks this girl. I mean, it's it's pretty brutal. But yeah, that would be the end of his actual career for this. And so do these guys deserve a second chance. Randy welcome to the show. Thanks for calling. Hey, no problem. Yeah. They do deserve a second chance and the difference between Ray rice, and the other two is the NFL had nothing in place at that time in terms of contrition in terms of what these guys had to do in terms of our program they had to go through. So they got Ray rice got eaten up by the media and understand that I'm not a proponent, I chased the guy twenty some miles of the other guys beat the crap out of it because he reached in it headed a girl one time. But if you look at what the NFL has. And what they've gotta do is you're on NFL player has about a three and a half year window, and that's it. But the NFL had no, you know. So you can't wait four or five years for this guy to make amends and put it back. He's no longer a viable for his his chosen career. So the NFL had to put something in place like what Nixon went through like what is going to go through and the Browns won't won't play him until he passes all those NFL things if you look, and you you just saw the recent video Ray rice, and I don't know if you saw the whole video. Did you see the whole video this girl? Slaps him. She spits on him. She it seems she he tries to hold or he tries to talk to he tried everything. I finally just got fed up and Quadra. Now, do I say that's a good thing to do. No wouldn't condone it for the world. But you understand what happened is after all that. What happens is the media gets a hold of one little thing. They show him smacking her. They don't show everything that leads up to same thing that happened with Nixon when you go back and look at the whole video this girl approached him. She started Howard him. She started doing all kinds of stuff on him doing all kinds of things. And so at some point, you know, and and I don't condone it women want to be treated equal. I don't believe in it men and women are different. But at some point you've got to say, okay. The guy did how much to stop it. He couldn't walk away. He's in a bag on elevator. Okay. The other guys sitting in a chair with people all around him at some point. The woman has to take a little responsibility for her actions to Donut..

"Now, it started with Ray rice, and it's continued ever since then the idea that instead of standing up admitting a mistake or taking on a situation like that. They they hunker down. They hide under the bed. They say as little as possible because they know that nothing they say is gonna make it any better. And I think it's also part of the notion that the PR function is so dominated by political operatives, and it's not about saying what's true or standing up and taking the flak is a broader game that's being played. And and I think he does need to say something or buddy, Tom and has characterized Roger Goodell is the world's highest paid pin cushion on many occasions because he's out there to take the heat while the owners hide behind the curtain, but now Goodell's right back they're hiding behind the curtain with them talking Mike Florio from pro football, talk, any other items that are sort of I know that they've talked about, you know, can we do something. With overtime. Can we do something with these calls cow important do think these two items are going to be in the off season for the competition committee? I think they're gonna let them all down. They say we'll discuss it. That's a fancy way of saying what we'll just ignore it. I mean, they always say they'll discuss they anyone about this. Well, we'll discuss it. And then we see what automatically gets discussed a lot of it depends on what ownership wants to do. I have been a proponent for four years. Now, Dan of using a video of fischel on every crew a member of every crew who's wearing black and white stripes who is sitting in a booth at the stadium who can see all of the TV angles in real time who can see the replays instantaneously as we see them at home and can speak directly to the referee and say drop a flag. Pick a flag up move the ball by yard to bridge the gap. And I think it's an important gap. The NFL underestimates what the Senate people in black and white stripes on the field who are trying to survive the violators. What they see? And what we see, and there's a huge gap. You've been on the sidelines for games before. It's feels different when you're there. It looks different. When you there then when you're at home, millions of people see these things play out at home, and they need an extra member of the crew not to be on the field. But to be on the couch like we are and to help the referee not as part of replay this isn't a replay function. This is somebody who is trained in school. All rules, all the nuances who sees what we see and can say for example to build vintage throw a flag. There was cast interference on that play that we missed in real time. Let's get it now and still may the mistakes that we've seen over the past several weeks all season long would be fixed. If they would commit to that. I don't know why they won't do it. It's going to cost money, but that would go along way toward improving the officiating function, and they don't seem to be interested. But maybe at some point somebody will realize that's a good way to try to fix. I'm right there with you suggested something like that where you just have somebody who's watching just to give you a heads up to say guys huddle. We missed one. And if you say all right when do you use that? All right. If you want to use it in the final three minutes of a game two minutes of a game, two minutes of the first half. And the second whatever it is. Your job is to get it. Right. If you had the technology to get it, right? Then do it. I don't want an intrusion an invasion of the game where it's constantly going on. And we're going to review holding in those kind of things but something like this. If you said to the NFL right now, you could have prevented that. And this is how I think the NFL would have signed up for it. They're not going to admit that publicly. But I do think that we're headed towards that..

"And other things that's important to you. What for me, I think that because we're human beings. Whether you're a man or woman everyone's life should have value. And no matter what happened that night if Kareem hunt, not smart enough to realize aid that's wrong and be Ray rice and see you're in a facility where I don't know. Maybe there's cameras if you're not smart enough to do that. Why did I think I should have you on my team that you're smart enough to be on my football team? You making run the rock. But as Sara Lee mean that I want you on my football team because you clearly don't have the value of a woman's life. Even in that one spot. Talking about a mistake. Chalk it up as you know, just lost control. I don't need that on my team. He can flourish someplace else. But on my team if I'm coaching it generally managing it. It just doesn't happen. That's always been my stance on any of this for years. So I don't think we should jump to conclusions and think daddy's is coming with the bears because there was no indication of that. But just the idea that Nagy talked to to Kareem hunt is got people a little bit. Like, what was was this all about we'll see what it's all about? It wouldn't be beyond the possibility of the bears doing this, by the way because the bears have had some sketchy players that have come to Halas hall, just for the big w Christian Peter is one of those guys off the top of my head put him in a uniform, the Ray McDonald mass that was that was a cook catastrophe from the start plenty because they can help you. It's okay. But this is the point if cream hunts on his football team. We'll have something to say. And I can't I can't be surprised if it happens because sports it happens. Can he helped me tape? "You don't know what you won't? Yes. I you know, I did definitely feel like. People. There's also the other thing people say they won't start and things because they don't think you'll give it to them. Right. And that's a big win. Because most of the time when people up they don't give you a sincere apology. They don't give you any knowledge of the harm they've caused. They don't give you the reasoning to why they did things they do. They don't give you any of that. They go. Fuck you double down your mother fuckers. And we actually know how to play that one out. Right. You dragging we drag you back. That's why we're going to beat you cancel you know, that kinda shit. But we don't really know when you turn around and be like you, right, right? Isn't exactly what you said. You know, because how do we deal because the thing is what happened about that? When you do that, you take the power out of their hands. Take control of them dictating how the conversations going to go out of their hands. And thing is when people are sincere some people use a tactic because the brand they keep moving to go post Harper sleeves to teach. Weekly move into go post. So you never actually make it to the Mark of being perfect. So you apologize since you might podcast several times. But then once it gets to a certain point, you acknowledge it, and you say, yes, I've risked this before here on the links and stuff to wherever dress this problem. And then you got to move on. Because if it's left up to some people once you get that one strike, you are never valley in nothing else. You can save a fucking cat from a tree is gonna be fucked. You today dot though, some people are just crazy when it comes to this. And you can't stay stuck because the thing is people claimed they won't grow. They only won't grow within themselves. They never won't growth. Another people. You only won't mercy for yourself. But you don't want to extend that mercy and grace to other people, and I've come to a conclusion that I guess is. Because I I see people's behaviour online is like, oh all this shit. You talking. You don't really mean it because once it's time to actually applied his grace and apply. This mercy and be reasonable and be logical and for. Give you don't wanna do it within within that person. You can only beat up for so long, right? So yeah, I don't know. I don't even know what you go with that. Because like I said if just bills bigger than whatever comments were it had to be just a mothership because someone chat CFO's don't think chances sincere, and I'm like my question becomes who. Isn't there like who gets to decide who's gonna say, I don't know, you know, 'cause I think time can really tell sincerity shit. So it's like the first time it wouldn't matter. Anyway, you know, and honestly, we never go back and actually give those people like the things like the go were they were right? Like, I'll give a brief example Ray rice. You know, we all me included, we're all suspicious or rights, and we said he was gonna be advocate against a massive violence. And when he said that this only happened one time, and you know, he you know, he was sorry. And we were like that dude abused his wife. Something else is going to happen. You know doesn't guarantee this ain't the first time and shit. But I don't know it's been what four years now. And I mean nothing else is copped out from over there. He has dedicated to speak out against domestic violence and trying to be a positive example and trying to talk to these players and stuff to be like, yo this is where you can up and this I need to get better..

"And that's a team like they've always had success against you know. Yeah. I mean, what should because Ray rice broke off a big run? You know, seven I look sometimes like that. The pats got killed them one killed in that one. And then they had the field goal game. And the other one. But my my thing with the three four five ravens chiefs bats, I think it's all even I can't believe you have the ravens at high. I just don't think that the Lamar. I think that three or four five those. That's a clump for me. I could have put the patch. Hillary of two I have the bears to in the saints one. Oh my God. Yeah. So you don't have the bears to and I have now. Seven I like defense more than new this year, though, their defense is that kind of special there is if they have a lead, and they can keep it. They will be able to protect the lead. And I like that. And I like the fact I think they stumbled into a running game these last four weeks that they've figured out the Cohen Howard thing in a way that I think I feel good about now. Yeah, I didn't expect this from our to close the season goes off, and I had him on t Moliere's waiting for it. And it just never happened. The last week. I was done are done part of the revised almost because Jordan hare. But I like the match ups for them too. Because if they can get by the eagles. Then we round two is the Rams we already discussed like their defense just hasn't been good. And if you if you're trying to get your Bisky is going to it's not like it's the end of this not going down to New Orleans. It's not like Arrowhead, do they think what the bears that have noticed? The first quarter is like super nationally important for them. They script out all the place Trubisky knows exactly what is doing like the first twelve fifteen or whatever. And that's as good as he's going to be in that first quarter. And then if they can get that lead. Then now you now you handed to defense now you're just doing run plays. And you're just basically not letting Trubisky. Fuck this up for you. I think they can beat the Rams Zoe. Is this whole thing started with him? Like, you're like is this real Israel as Israel in your like, I guess, I guess it Israel yet. And I've watched a bunch and from that opening week against Green Bay where I thought it was painfully obvious to any football fan that they didn't trust him at all. They didn't they trust them more. Now, they do which is great. I just wouldn't trust him enough. Like, maybe maybe this is the the changing of the NFL and that if you do have that kind of defense and that the quarterback numbers it gets almost like three point shooting. Now, I I don't know what to do with harden in comparison to some of these grades or the run that he's been on because pace is almost catching up to what pace use to be gay when used to have these absurd rebounding games like how to Bill Russell have forty rebounds. You're like well looking at the shot attempts. Look at the pace of played out of the big o end up with a trouble. Double will look at the pace that's wine away. Westbrook's triple double is more now. So when I hear all when I think about. Quarterback numbers in what you need to win. Maybe I'm still a little caught up in the old fashioned thing of like dude the NFL playoffs. Like gimme a guy that I can trust. Like, you really wanna pick Trubisky one of these spots. But we seen with Nagy it head coach and these offenses in around this league is that maybe the bottom for that position has come up to a point where that's the new NFL. It isn't about making sure you have one of those five guys. It's that making sure that even if you guys in his good as ten or fifteen other quarterbacks he's still going to get production with the way the game is called with the places that are open in the middle of the field and being able to scramble on third downs and stuff..

"Think that he is just a teaching just grew up in a violent situation? He just has anger management problems. Where do you think that he may be has early onset CTE? I have no idea. I don't even know too much about how we grew up. I actually meet an attempt on Friday to talk to his mother. Talkative mood that day. I don't blame her. But yeah, I I don't know. Maybe he just has anger problems on. I'm not sure I don't know why I thought people say he's a nice kid in a sweet kid. Maybe it's just. The tape was troubling to me. A lot of comparisons to Ray rice. And I do think it's different there. I think what Ray rice Ray rice. Did was worse. Just I mean, you know, I I hate to compare these two they're both horrible. Well, I think what rights did was even more violent one hundred percent of the level of violence in this video that we posted on Friday, it didn't rise to level. Clearly of of what I was troubled by the fact that he was attack in that. He kept trying right. Her. Yeah. And I also want buddies. What would have happened, exactly? It yesterday there. Right. I said the exact same thing. Yes. Yeah. When I watched I thought creams was just more ignorance Ray rice is was that was just brutality. But he he completely destroy that woman's face. What do you say? What do you say to the people out there? They're like, well, you only pushed her he didn't mean to kick her because I've had callers this week on in saying those types of things, and I think it's completely ridiculous, Mike, what do you make? Yeah. Yeah. That sounds ridiculous. How you mean? Pick somebody. Bothered by the facts on a cloud. Even if he didn't kick her as hard as he could have sure. Sure, lack of respect for her the human absolutely when she's on the ground. Yeah. We are in agreement. If you're just joining us for speaking with Mike Babcock from TMZ sports, he is one of the few responsible for for putting this video out there. And thank God. He did. Because people need to know who Kareem hunt is and the things he's done. And I applaud TMZ and TMZ sports and people like Mike Babcock for doing that, Mike. So now, we got this in Cleveland police are taking some shots now, not literally figuratively speaking. But now they're saying that you hear about this guy. Derek Zita, apparently he had this cellphone footage. And we haven't seen it. You haven't seen it? But apparently, there's some cell phone footage that he took from this nineteen year old girl asked him to take cell phone footage. And then these police officers these Cleveland police officers confiscated his cell phone illegally, by the way. Have you heard the story? What do you make of this? I'm not entirely familiar with it burn. But I do know that some of that ACLU toward body camera footage that we have actually do see somebody who is telling a story very much like what you're saying there. Look Cleveland police are doing an internal investigation. And they're looking at the how all this was handled because there are a couple of different issues one because the police misdemeanor. They never looked at the security footage that night. And I think it's very clear to everybody. If they would've looked at the footage, which is the same footage that we have right? And they probably would have erected Kareem mind because I think it's pretty cut and dry when you look at the video. So they were looking into it there. There was another. The NFL. Apparently, according to the Cleveland police around official channels and requesting a document like a regular media organization organization would they put down low, and they had the police report swift to them. So I guess Cleveland police are gonna look at all this and make sure that they didn't screw anything up. I think the bigger issue is the prosecutor's office in Cleveland because right? We have been calling them nonstop. Continue to molest now, the, you know, six five six days, they will not answer the question, why not charge cover up? Yeah. It. It doesn't make any sense. Do you think that cream hunt should play in the NFL again? I don't know if he should I think he will. I think he's twenty three years old. He's young. I think Ray rice was on the way out we could all agree and cream on talented. And I think at the end of the day, you know, that's what matters most of these NFL team. So I think, you know, this investigation, you know, I don't think we'll even get started until the off season than I expect that it'll be suspended for at least six games, maybe more, especially now with the other instances that we know of. But I do think he'll play maybe it won't even be next year. Maybe it'll be the year after but I do think he'll play moving forward. Let's talk a little bit about the NFL, Mike. I mean, Roger Goodell they say that he's not talking. I know you guys caught up with him, and he wouldn't answer to your questions. But do you believe Roger Goodell? Do you believe the NFL when they say they claim that data dot see this video? But yet they don't tell us that they did receive a police report back in February yet, they don't talk to Kareem hot, which I find enormously. Suspicious. Do you believe that they said they didn't see this video? I keep going back and forth. The after we watching the video for the first time, I watched the video, and I do this is a major deal pro-kremlin. And the second thing that came to my mind was did the NFL know about this video. And did they see this video? And did they repeat some of mistakes that they made with Ray rice? Now, they told me we went to the residents of where it happened. And they wouldn't give us the tape. We went to police they would give us the tape. And we repeatedly called the victim. And she went talked to us. The NFL is a big powerful organization. They have security like what else? Like, no other sports league. You part of the syndicate side if you find it hard to believe that they don't have someone that could go to a Cleveland police or or or what of their security personnel. But never relationship with with somebody in that department. And they couldn't say, hey, show me tape because I got I got to know what happened. I got to see if our player put his hands on a girl do find it a little hard to believe where did it. Yeah. I don't believe anything Roger Goodell or the NFL says, that's just my personal preference. Last question for you, Mike. How does it feel for guys like you and Evan Rosenbaum to break? Just another enormous story like this. This has been talked about on every network, including CNN, Fox News every national network. They've been talking about this story almost every day. Obviously, it's the lead story on sportscenter. How does it feel that you know, you guys did your do diligence? And because of what you guys were. Able to do this scumbag to be exposed for what he did. And probably he's probably done this before. I mean, how does that feel for you? It's got to be a pretty good feeling to be able to break a story like this and to expose somebody for the person that they are. Yeah. It feels good. I love football. And I love the game. And I don't want to hurt the NFL. And I don't like to see a girl I'm video being brutal. I I I am proud of what we did. And it's it's more than just getting the video. There's a lot of other work that goes into it of making cold. And and this is something that we working on February the video was really just a combination. And it was the one major pizza that. But it does feel good not to see your work being appreciated. So yeah, I'm proud of the work Mike now that cream on is off the Kansas City Chiefs, who do you see winning the AFC? Good question. He's an irreplaceable.

"But I just feel like it's so shady, it's so shady how TMZ can get this whole thing. The NFL can't the chiefs can't but TMZ pays up. It's. I wanna know. Like on to keep it quiet at the beginning did Kareem hunt half to pay right? And then from there. Did you know TMZ just triple what he paid the Cleveland police? I I wanna know how deep this goes to me. It's a little fishy. Ira fishing, and Amy Trask was on with with fits of Brooks today. And I it's part of what I've been saying on this whole time is do you do you hire? But she said it's kind of hard. Dot com on the podcast, great stuff. But she she was saying to you hire TMZ. Do you hire some type of thing like that? In have resources to go and pay for those. Videos for your investigations, I but see that's the thing is man you want to know. So many things because look you're investigating. You're you're paying up, and I feel like TMZ would end up, you know, almost like extortion. Yes. Yeah. Eight they know exactly how much the NFL's worth information is a commodity for any in especially valuable information. And at the end of the day, what the NFL needs to know is what really happened. And however, look the NFL their financial resources pretty limitless. There is some limit. But to obtain a copy of a video, look, I think they can probably find, you know, between the owners, and whoever the hell is going to be in charge of of facilitating that I think that they can come up with a number of the the bottom line is they need to know what happened in the fact that there was a video of this incident and never mind. How dumb Kareem hunt was for doing something like that knowing that it was all being recorded. But that aside knowing that there is a video available since February and Kareem hunt. Hunt felt empowered enough embolden enough to light his team. He had to have known that. They were having a hard time getting the video or didn't have access to it. I mean, they didn't see the video because if you see the video, you know, right away away like kicked out. I wonder as guard went down a little bit each week. Yeah. Good. Yeah. I'm good. Hanging over his head. Could you imagine knowing that your career your NFL career is just hanging in the balance and the day that the other shoe drops, you're toast? And I mean, it's bad enough that this happened know in any way, shape or form the fact that it happened just a couple of days after Ruben foster that to me is kind of fishy to now all the sudden and we're getting near playoff time in the chiefs are potentially in a position to win the Super Bowl. There was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes man, this thing just stinks all high. Hell no, it just sucks, and, you know, starting with the domestic violence to the cover up to the, you know, the distribution of the video to the new police cars at the Cleveland police officers are driving and all that stuff. It's it's it's all shady shady. So following an internal review. It was determined that in February a member of the Cleveland division of police provided a report you'll appreciate you trying to do some serious here. You don't mind felt house? Doing it for felony baby. All right now. So I'll start over following an internal review is determined that in February a member of the Cleveland police provided a copy of that police report, including the assault incident at the nine which was the hotel to the National Football League. And of course, they didn't go through the official publics public records request process. Now, if you go through that process, officially then it's known that the NFL is petitioning to get that information. Because I I gotta think look the police reports one thing like if you know, there's video of it. I don't need the police report. And that's the other thing that just begs the question. Okay. There's this video like, yeah. The charges were dropped. Why why were the charges dropped? They don't do anything for misdemeanor. It wasn't. It was not a felon. It was not charges a felony. You should have been. No, okay. Yeah. No. I mean any of that stuff? Should right? No doubt. Whether or not whatever it should be a felony. But it was filed under as a misdemeanor, which they don't do stuff you're going, wait what? Yeah. That's just shadiest number one. The fact that I don't care how hard he kicked. Her didn't kick her. You know what I mean? Like that was a felony the moment that right? She's dazed. She's she's laying on the ground days has has just gotten to the point where she sitting up. She's not even standing it. And he tried to kick her in the face. I mean, whether you connected or not I mean, thank God. He didn't he barely grazed or but not the point. You know, in the fact that she was on the ground is because you knock that dude indoor. And I know that I, you know, I don't know that he did that on purpose. But I guarantee you he didn't care if she got knocked down. Clearly, he was intent on doing her harm, hence the shove and then later kicking her. So let me ask you this this Kareem hunt play in the NFL again. Yes. Yeah. I think so too. I think he's young enough. Yeah. That's why Ray rice didn't play again because he was done. He was already at the end of his career. Well, yeah. And hit what he did on video, right? I feel like a complete ass for even having compare that. You're right though. It's true world. We all we all think the same. But it wasn't as bad. It wasn't even though it is it wasn't what the wasn't as graphic as the one punch layout. Right. And even if you go on the Joe mixing stuff, right? And the other part of it too. Is that was his significant other now again, there's no excuse for this but Kareem hunt, and this gal they weren't like romantically involved. Okay there. There was a disagreement. You know, apparently tossed around my point is the Ray rice stuff. It's almost even more shocking because this is supposed to be somebody that you love and care about still married, right? That's what I'm saying. You're in a partnership to protect the whereas opposed to somebody just being a complete stranger that you had a disagreement with what you can. I think I think there's got to be a lot of answers. A lot of questions answered by Kareem hunt and not verbally by actions right in how. Have you address certain things? How have you gone about counseling? How you know if he's out all next year, then good for him. Yeah. Because then it maybe his message is being passed. You know, you know from from team to team. I just see. He's too young and talented and we've discussed talent over all this crap. Sure. I think it's going to end up being that he's gonna play and the other part of it too is I thought that the Lisa Saulters sit down that was way too soon for me. It was like it was just so, but it's so soon it's so perfect for Lisa Saulters to get it all, of course. But even though they made they went out of their way to say, you heard her in the interview say you requested this interview. So that was Kareem hunt reaching out to them saying how I wanna get a message out. And I felt like it was total damage control one. Oh one. He's just trying to me. Then who was it? Right. Yeah. That's see. That's the thing. Like, no. It's not you. It was you you can say that was out of character for me. That's not a representation of who. I am. But no, my man, there's a connect there because that was you, and that's why you're not employed by the Kansas City Chiefs anymore, and that but see that's the one thing that I feel very comfortable saying that is you that is your character. Under percent, you do that. That's your character. That is that is a part of it from the beginning. You have that in you there? Literally do not have that in me. I know that you're right me. Neither thankfully, but you're right. There's only there's there's the kind of people that will in the kind of people that won't. And so to say that that's not you now my man that is you and I just felt like right now. This was the time for Kareem hunt. Make your statement. Hey, the chiefs were right to do what they did. I was in the wrong. Okay. Cool like and then say, hey, I'm gonna make this right? I know it's going to take a long time. But I will make this right? I'm going to make some changes. If that's what we heard from Kareem hunt. And then we didn't hear from again for six months. I'm cool like, and then don't tell me show me show me the changes that you've made. Hey, I went to counseling I'm volunteering at a shelter. Whatever it is I'm a battered women's shelter. Whatever it is to show us. You understand the severity of it. And it's not all poor me. I lost my job in the NFL. It's poor victim of my heinous assault. And the fact that I don't have a job in the NFL is the right thing because I was way out of line. I felt like he was trying to do some like PR. Reparation campaign, and I just felt like it was so ill time. And when she asked him directly about what happened. He just basically iterative that he didn't matter. What happened? And it's like, no, dude. It absolutely matters. What happened? That's why we're all year right now. Ready for our society right now, they don't even six five. Oh, let's talk about Steph night. Not women beaters fellas. All right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Like that that right there alone. I it just says we're uncomfortable talking about it. But it needs to be talked about an address. Yeah. And to me the moment, you ignore it. There's so many things that you know, how can how can the NFL do better and get the message across in. And and try to help out. Why think it it obviously starts younger? And if I'm NFL, I'm

Kareem Hunt apologizes, says NFL never interviewed him about assault

"You know, it's been a tough time for man. I'm extremely embarrassed. Because of that video I last Michael junior here on ESPN radio and the ESPN app, the videos disgusting, like we I hope we it's being spoon fed to us. This is disgusting. And this is the unfortunate part is it always seems like we need a video to believe these kind of acts are possible in these situations that the burden of proof always seems to be that high. So there's that which we can help with all of this begins and ends with Kareem hunt did an awful thing. And then we are led to believe in the chiefs came out and said Kareem was not truthful to us about the nature of these events back when they interviewed him after this incident. And so the chiefs said this video constitutes new information to us were making this decision. He wasn't truthful with us we can't condone this. He's gone. And a lot of people said that feels reactionary now I wanna play to bits of sound for you from Sunday NFL countdown yesterday. This is Louis Riddick are ESPN NFL front office insider talking about why he believes just including the lies that Kareem hunt was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in that interview, rather it just doesn't come off. Right. It doesn't come off as cream really grasping. Exactly. What is going on here? And how explosive this situation isn't how important the situation is. And he really let the kids see cheese. No choice. I don't believe that. She's just cut because there was no video. I believe it was because they really just didn't know exactly what had happened. And he they asked him what happened. And they and he's still did not know rather didn't come forth. This becomes the confusing part here is because the chiefs interviewed him within the NFL takes over this investigation. And it's league protocol where if the league starts an investigation the team will stop investigating and let the league take over. And I assume that just in a general sense seems to be trying to avoid a conflict of interest that makes sense in my mind, but the question. And then can be asked if the league didn't interview him and the chiefs couldn't get a hold of this video a lot of people are going to ask the question. I don't think it's unfair to ask if the NFL or the chiefs didn't know how much did they really want to because it seems like now this came up, and it's it's very reactionary doesn't seem like a lot of this process was proactive, and I was talking to our ESPN senior writer me at times yesterday. And the point got brought up that this in part could be due to the way things went for the NFL when they dealt with the Ezekiel Elliott case in the suspension surrounding that. And how so many people thought they were overstepping their bounds with Ezekiel Elliott based on the amount of evidence. They had their disposal. And so if you're the NFL you've got that swing of the pendulum after it was the complete other way with Ray rice and with Greg hardy and with Josh Brown. And with all these players were people in think you didn't nearly enough. And so that's the other part of the Sam ponders the host of Sunday. NFL countdown spoke about the message this sense from the NFL going forward message. Hopefully that we're going to start sending two women and two men who care in this country is that it doesn't matter. If you love the NFL in rushing last year, it doesn't matter if you're on all our billboards, or whenever you put your hands on a woman, we're done, and I hope the NFL can make that a little more clear the investigation process than they did this time I last year on ESPN radio and the ESPN app, and I thought Sam did a good job of resetting that conversation coming off of Koreans interview. Because there is a lot of we sit around, and we judge the interview, and we judge the suspension links, and we judge all these things I always wonder how productive they are. Because again, it's easy for us all to get up here. And obviously talk about how disgusting this is to see it on tape and how wrong it is. We all know that. We're not dumb. But then we get Jasper Lucas tweets is in cream hunted that interview because he's trying to line up another opportunity with another team. He's still lying. He hasn't shown remorse, and if I'm an NFL GM, I wanna see him out of football for at least a year during which he's doing domestic violence related community service, etc. That's the other thing is I don't think any of us know how to handle this. And we don't listen to enough of the right people in this because I sat and I thought man what's the length of the suspension going to be like for Reuben foster cream haunted. How far will that go for the league? And again, you can address PR in that way. But when you're trying to address the heart of the issue the way so many people in the NFL claim to want to do what do you do outside of just signaling to fans because this is a guy Kareem hunt is going to be back on an NFL football field. So in the meantime, what do you do to make sure that he comes back better? What do you actually do? That's becomes the part. That's infinitely more important. Here's how do we protect the victims in this? And how do we make sure that if these guys are going to because of their football town, we know end up back on the field. How do we? Ensuring if you're the NFL, how do you go and actually live up to some of the things that you're talking about as far as player development and ensure that these guys if they're going to be back come back better and not just come back punished in a way that's going to satiate the mob outside of your door. It's a it's an extremely complicated issue one that won't have any resolution now, but one that will certainly get into more later coming up on golden window as well. We'll switch gears completely getting back to the world of sports and get to the one staff that caught me completely off guard this morning, that's next. It's first and last here on ESPN radio the

Kareem Hunt says NFL never interviewed him about assault

"Past week something else has happened guy by the name of Ruben foster who had a run in before with the law and domestic violence had. He had another one just days after appearing in an orange jail jumpsuit accused again of domestic violence, the Washington Redskins are offering to put Reuben foster in a burgundy and gold NFL uniform the young linebacker who is face game suspensions and a weapons charge was released by the forty Niners after this latest incident. Yes, yet another incident he's released he's released because of what he did to his ex slash girlfriend. Eric. Trip. My phone number. Let me and my face claiming foster is a controversial move for the Redskins as police and the NFL investigate. He can't play for now. Yeah. But he's got talent. And he's twenty four he can get to the quarterback. The other one could score. Will you walk a fine line? It doesn't look good for the NFL cream hunts knocking to play the rest of this year. He's not. The Reuben foster thing is an interesting thing. It's an ugly. Look for the NFL that somebody claimed him off waivers. You know, why they did that first of all these twenty four. Secondly, the woman who is accusing him has already been caught lying once before when she accused him before. And here's where bad judgment comes in. If somebody accuses you of something awful, potentially destroys your life and your livelihood. And you choose to go back to them that shows that you have poor judgment. There's no guarantees ever gonna play her gas with you. I mean, he's that a lot of work to do personally with the team with the NFL with himself before even thinks about playing football. Again, the NFL's got a lot of thinking to do. But I think we all know this. If you have talent you're going to get far more chances than somebody who is essentially done. Thirty year old Ray rice, wasn't Twenty-three-year-old Ray rice. So he was no use to anybody. He probably at a year or two left Twenty-three-year-old Kareem hunt potential MVP in the prime of his career twenty four year old Ruben. Foster can get to the quarterback. A lot of thinking to do NFL. You got a lot of thinking to do. But it shows you in a lot of ways. It's a business
