"York City It is can I feel like I should know who this is, but I don't do you. Oh, Who believe I'm seeing his name. Ray Ray LaMontagne. All right, that sounds vaguely familiar. It's pretty good, so I don't spend a lot of time talking about Politics and other cities. But what's going on in the New York City mayors race is absolutely fascinating. So first of all, the New York City Board of Elections has been a mess They did a very bad job in the presidential election didn't really matter all that much because New York, New York City and New York State just went so heavily. For Joe Biden that there any errors that there were, there wouldn't really have made a difference, but still, they have not done a bad job, in part because that office the board of Elections has long been thought of as a place filled with corruption and nepotism and all that. Now New York City. Adopted. Plan to use ranked choice voting, which is a much much more complicated method of election that has its pros and cons. We won't get into all of them. But If nobody wins an outright majority. You end up here is this short version kind of of how it works. Let's say you voted for the person who ends up having the least votes, But you put in a second choice. Your first choice candidate got the least votes. So when that candidate is eliminated your second choice, then gets added to the Votes of whoever that other candidate is, who's still in the race, and that goes on until there's somebody who has a majority of the votes. It's an odd system in the sense that it could allow someone to win an election who was not the first choice of very many people. It's also much more complicated. You got these iterative processes that you go round and round and round. So in New York City after the first round of their Democratic primary, which is probably effectively the race itself because it's unlikely that the Republicans can win, a gentleman named Eric Adams was in the lead. Is in the lead still, but was in the lead. Interestingly, he was running against defunding. The police is the most pro police candidate running in that race. He was in first by a pretty good margin. The city announced a new count yesterday afternoon, and it showed the third place candidate moving up enormously and getting within spitting distance within a couple percent of Eric Adams. But that wasn't the weird part. The weird part was that the total number of votes being counted. Increased by 135,000 over the first round. And this is not a situation where they are adding absentee ballots or other things like that. There should not be an increase in the number of votes being counted. I do think there could be a decrease, but there can't be an increase and there was Eric Adams, who is in the lead, basically said, What the heck is going on here? A lot of it sounded like the same kind of stuff you heard after President Trump former president Trump lost in 2020. What's going on is they're cheating. What is it? And then we learned last night? That the board of Elections says that when they recounted they accidentally included a whole bunch of test data that had been used before the election to make sure that the system worked. They accidentally included all of that, along with the real votes that caused the huge jump in the number of votes and the huge change in position where the person who was in third place now was in a very close second. Almost in first. Well, now they've got to take all those back out Re tabulate. I don't think they've put the numbers out yet. But what a mess And the last thing America needs right now is more people thinking mid elections can't be trusted. The last thing America needs right now is incompetent Election officials, but that's what we've got in New York City. We'll be right back with a great conversation..

Joe Biden Eric Adams Ray Ray LaMontagne 2020 New York City 135,000 yesterday afternoon first round President Trump New York City Board of Electio New York second choice third place Republicans last night New York State first choice America York City president

D. B. that's the movie website where you can post a a review register your read your review of on scale from one to ten and or you can write a review if you want most people just score review they don't write a review but of the nearly three hundred people that have scored a review about seventy five seventy nine last time I checked have written and posted a written review and I've never seen this before I've just been form is now eighty seven I haven't read the last I have read the okay I understand okay I have read the last one but I've just gotten a reading now there are eighty seven written reviews all eighty seven read my lips all eighty seven have given uncle Tom ten stars out of ten I have never seen anything like that and we're just getting started I mean the movie just came out on Friday in already from what I can from what I've told what I've been told I haven't actually seen the figures of what I've been told it's already done twice with bowling for Columbine did involve a Columbine opening weekend they're always open up on a Friday so Friday Saturday and Sundays which counted from what I can tell it is doubled the revenues of both of the Columbine which went on to become the fifth highest grossing political documentary of all time and we're just getting warmed up and this is not a film just for conservatives it's not a film just Republicans it's a film for Americans and I got the most incredible letter from somebody saw this headline ten out of ten is one of the persons that wrote a written review ten out of ten headlined the world needs to see this he wrote I'm not an American never been to the United States I live in an eastern European country and I love the movie and don't regret purchasing it the message of self reliance is universal the message of hard work it's universal this is the part that they got me I often watch videos of black conservatives to lift my spirits and give me a kick on days when I feel like slacking off people like Larry elder Candace Owens king faces rappers in the movie Brandon Tatum have powerful charisma sense of humor and magnetic personalities and I enjoy their message because it's universal end of quote I often watch videos of black conservatives so is this eastern European who never been here I often watch videos of black conservatives to lift my spirits and give me a kick on days when I feel like slacking off.

"America's finest. Thanks for being so punch of people sent this to me. And I feel like I have to have to do this, and I think this is a fine way to wrap up the week of d day discussion and storytelling. This is an essay. And then we got Dr David Jeremiah coming up at the bottom of the hour. Of course, this is an essay written in nineteen sixty. I want to share this because two reasons I, I hope we can drive home again the futility of it. Of this invasion, the risk and darn near futility. I think that comes across in the story, and then also the heroism, but the everyday heroism, which a Meko a point that Joe made and the show yesterday. They just today. So here's the last line, and then we'll go back to the thousands of Americans were spilled onto Omaha beach, the high ground was won by handful of men like Taylor, who on that day burned with a flame bright beyond common understanding. And I want to make the point that it may be beyond common understanding, but it's not beyond common ability. Do that. Coming up yesterday Joe's final thought was that we tend today affi- our heroes. From George Washington's to the soldiers on d day. But the truth is, they were just like you and just like me. And yes with the right mixture of experience, as we've talked about in the Slater salutes. With with Ray Lamontagne growing up during the depression, and of course, the right Mr. timing. But does that particularly these were nineteen year old kids from small towns, all across the country? It wasn't the best and brightest. Sure, they became the greatest, but they were not the best and brightest necessarily, we all have that ability. If we have the courage, which is why it's one of the four cardinal virtues anyway, so here's the able company riding the tide and seven Higgins boats is still five thousand yards from the beach when I taken under artillery fire, the shells fall short at one thousand yards boat. Number five is hit dead on foundered. Six men drowned before help arrives second, Lieutenant Edward gearing and twenty others paddle around until picked up by naval craft thereby missing the fight at the shoreline. They're lucky day. The other six boats ride unscathed to within one hundred yards at the shore where shell into boat. Number three kills two men, another dozen drown. That leaves five boats left. The tenant Edward Ted Rick and boat, number two, cries out, my God. We're coming in at the right spot. But look at it. No shingle. No wall. No shell holes. No cover nothing. His mentor at the sides of the boat straining for view of the target they stare, but say nothing they're coming up on the shore and they were hoped thinking hoping that there'd be something they could take cover behind even a whole night. So like the air force came before came in the planes came before and drop bombs, it must have holes they get in nothing. No shells. Nothing. At exactly six thirty six AM, ramps are dropped along the boat line and then jump off in water anywhere from waist-deep to hire that a man's head. This is the signal awaited, by the Germans atop the bluff, already pounded by mortars. The floundering lines instantly swept by crossing machine gun fire from both ends of the beach. There's a scene, saving private Ryan. I'm sure you've seen it. If nothing else today, watch the ten minutes of the invasion seen there's a scene. It's just ten seconds five seconds long and it's from the German perspective. And one of these Higgins, boats opens up the doors opened up and the machine gun just and everyone's dead in the bone done. Able company planned to Wade ashore and three files from each boat center. File going first then Flink files peeling off, right. And left. The first man out try to do it, but a ripped apart before they can make five yards, even the lightly wounded die by drowning doomed, by the logging of their overloaded packs for vote number one all hands jump off in water over their heads. Most of them are carried down to the bottom. Ten or so survivors get around the boat and clutch at its sides in an attempt to stay afloat. Half of its people are lost to the fire or tied before anyone gets a shore. All order has vanished from able company before it has fired a shot. Thinking about that. They are not a single shot has been fired from the good guys at this point. Within seven minutes after the ramps drop able company is a nerd and leaderless. At boat. Number two, Lieutenant tick takes a bullet through the throat as he jumps from the ramp into the water. He staggers onto the stand and flops down ten feet from private first class. Leo Nash, Nash, sees the blood. Spurting. And here's the strangled words gasped by tick advance with the wire cutters. But it's futile Nash has no cutters. To give the order, tick has raised himself up on his hands and made himself a target for an instant. Nash Burling into the sand seas machine gun bullets rip tidgy from crown pelvis. From the cliffs above the German gunners are shooting into the survivors from a rooftop. Listen to this, by the end of ten minutes, every sergeant he's either dead or wounded. Ten minutes on another boat. The ramp drops in that instant two machineguns concentrate their fire on the opening not a man is given time to jump all aboard are cut down where they stand. By the end of fifteen minutes able company is still not fired a weapon. By the end of one half hour. Approximately two thirds of the company has gone forever. By the end of one hour. So the how could we possibly have won that? If fifteen minutes into the battle, we haven't even really been touched soil. Probably touched the Senate. We haven't even fired a single shot. We're just getting shot at in the open the enemy from a height advantage. Out of this.
