"Thank you, Danny away. The positions played like so many players utilize that. Well, Jeff, did you say peanuts? No. I think we talked discussed this a while back. Did you say peanut is the Hall of Famer? I think he comes up just short personally. And unfortunately, I don't think Lance Briggs really has any real shot. No, you know, and I don't think he should go in. But Devin Hester's the one guy who I think probably will get in because of his fame. Special teams ace. He's Ray guy. He'll be right next to re guys. That's right now. Is that right? That's it, right. You have to ask your that question later about Devin Hester? Yes. Yeah, He's not having that. He knew it was great. The problem for peanut is just, you know, It's such an exclusive club that I think he's going to have a problem eventually getting in. Mm hmm. Well, I would say this shot is the answer is shot for me, Danny. I think the next Baird again It would be Devin Hester and Oland would be on the outside looking in the I think maybe eventually but just not right away. Right, Daddy. All right, gentlemen, the NFL is slowly molding itself into the MBA with player and power man and superstar players expressing frustration through the media and on their social media accounts. So I ask you guys shot or no shot. The next thing the NFL takes from the MBA is the super team model. All of the Celtics Big three or the Warriors. Big four. Say that one more time so I can question the shot or no shot. But next thing the NFL takes from the MBA is the super team model like the Celtics. Big three. The Warriors Big four Basically where players decide to all go play together somewhere. It's kind of like the bucks did that. You know, Tom Brady decided..

I fuck out shuttle tall. The winters E._S._P._N.. Good for you guys awards really matter go a long way S._p.. One award the night before so his didn't even get announced on this one the night before and we went out and celebrated his victory that was an overheating and is friendship really kicked off and the guests from earlier today herbstreet that is where we met at that award show at a bar that night before in Beautiful Orlando Yeah we walked in walked into this. We're at Margarita vel down there in Orlando. I think there's like a string of bars down there. In Orlando I think right zero there's a Margarito down there so mean ache you were down there Margarita Ville and we bounce over to another. We're the only people that went out so we found that out whenever we got back and there was somebody that was checking names Gazeta makes you might have been resigned lost as well by the way something to think about d._N._A.. Cure the last two stumbling but we go into a bar that was like as it was kind of shutting down and we walk in and curb some cormick. Oh fucker shirts here and thank you I know because big ten stuff gives up there and chats with him. Nicest guy of all time still is obviously a great interview earlier but award show. I've really had and a nice. What's that word of of affliction? Is that like like oh an affinity definitive. I really have had an affinity for award shows for a long time. I mean my senior year high school. They made me go to the <hes> the award show for the seniors. I and I was up for male athlete of the year I mean only had scholarship offers for like three or four sports. We met the winner right. "Were last night and there was a moment where I was potentially potentially going to have to accept the S._p.. For the Indianapolis Colts me and my friends are Pale Dumdum of the year very nice kid from Alabama. He has a Nice family now in Vegas and Jim hilarious human being he and I were there it was drake hosted and I didn't even know we're up for an award and all of a sudden this award comes up and drake announces. Somebody comes out and talks about it. In this camera crew comes sprinting up to put like it was like we're in a college football awards where the camera crew comes sprinting up to you and I had no idea what it was I literally look over and I'm like what the fuck because going on and look at the other culture of the only quote here. There's no way there's no way that that but for a moment in my head I was like greatest. espy speech of all time is coming right up greatest speech. Each of all time is coming somebody else want obviously the camera left so I guess they had to just do the fake show thing but I thought it was going to accept an S. before the Indianapolis Colts would have been what an incredible haven't been invited back sits award show suck yeah. They're fucking terrible now granted. I'm sure there's some people that absolutely love them the everything about him. There's some great performances. I agree but boy watching at home is so much better because you a change channel then go you can go to the bathroom. You don't have to be dressed like a buffoon and it'd be dressed like a buffoon out there. You don't have to sweat your Dick off and you'll have to be cramped into the seats that are smaller than airplane seats. These theaters are not built for people of any size. They're built for. It's terrible. I've been to a war chest nominated twice once once espy with goats obviously and one for the College Football Awards were Ray guy and I. I Hate Ray guy because of his decision. I think it was a bad one wasted a Lotta time. Line should have been down there a camera two inches from your face..

"So we were talking about this act loafing, right? And just kind of what how big this summer is. Right. It's so big. It's pretty damn huge. I would agree. It is pretty damn huge. So we were kind of extrapolating and speculating, right? What happens if they strike out? What's LeBron going to be like, yeah? How is he going to feel will he push them to make moves? They don't wanna make will they consider trading. It's only his legacy on the line. Right. He what I mean? Like you. Gotta get the coach, right? You gotta get the guy at team, right? You've got to do this right next year. I don't know if you can get it. Right. Right. But I can you get it better. I don't know if they have the infrastructure to get it, right, right? Which leads me back to that. Well, billions watch that show. I don't I want to. That's like the next show that you have to watch. 'cause like everything in the world you. Can you can just learn so much because there's so much watching billions, right? But this latest episode I won't tell the whole story 'cause I don't wanna give it away. But one of the main characters is basically gonna get publicly humiliated by someone like by rival with an agenda. Right. Who has some dirt on him? And he's gonna have to withdraw from the attorney general's race in in order to stop this information for coming out. And everyone was like, well, you gotta you just gotta do it. You gotta you gotta just bow out. You can't let yourself be humiliated that way in this. And the guy's dad system ever give up. Right. Yeah. For the last law and the guy gets in front of the Mike and instead of withdrawing from the race, he decides to just say everything himself, all the most embarrassing all the stuff that everyone thinks his career is over. Now. He's going to challenge. He's gonna challenge the world to accept him. And just it's it's like he's into he's into like, right, right? Okay. Ray guy. Yeah. Just shades. It's like fifty shades of grey. So he just decides to like say it out there and challenge and he framed it he discussed in such a way that he becomes this like hero York. And he wins the race. And the point is you have to be willing to do everything. Right. Nothing can be off the table. Like, nothing even. Saying your most embarrassing awful thing. Right. Has to be off. It has to be on the table. Yeah. And I think that's how important this summer is for the Lakers like they have to be willing to everything. So if they don't get them great free. That's just option one, right? You have to be one trade you have to be willing to get anyone. You have to be willing to do whatever you need to do to get a better team around LeBron James because you you cannot allow next year to be like this year. Just can't agree. You have cap space the window closes before you have to pay the kid lottery pick you have a lottery, pick whatever you have to do by any means necessary. You have to do it. And if you don't do it. They've got gonna get way ugly. They have tools to work with. Yeah..

"And you're not getting any better night's rest than you are on on a leesamattress. I've got one I can confirm that Lisa's the best. We love them over here. All right. Let's get into today's show. We got a couple more interviews like I mentioned last time. We've picked up some new listeners over the course of the last few months. So I'm hoping that a couple of these shows are going to be new to some people. These are just some of my favorite interviews that we've done or the last six to eight months or so, and we got we got a couple more good wants today. The first one one of my personal favorites. I feel like you don't really hear this guy. Give interviews too often. He so busy that just being able to kind of sit down and pick. His brain was really it was incredible. This guy has has been an advocate of pats for a while. Now works at ESPN. He's been he's been doing what he can to try to get pats foot in the door. He's big fan of him. He loves what he does. Obviously, we all love what he does here. He's the voice of college football, one of the most handsome men in America. Ladies and gentlemen, Kirk herbstreet. Ladies and gentlemen, joining me now is a man who's an absolutely legendary humid on the television. He's the voice in face of college football. And it's a handsome face in a beautiful voice to be that. This weekend. He's at the Penn State Ohio State white out game. You can see him every Saturday morning on college game day, delivering the goods about college football weekend and week out. I met him for the first time at the ESPN college football wards whenever I was nominated for the Ray guy award Ray guy. Got it wrong. Didn't give me the war. But the weekend was a blast a true gentleman. Ladies and gentlemen, Kirk herbstreet. Three big man doing excellent. How are you perk? Your life is awesome. It's so fun to watch. You. Appreciate it. I I enjoy watching you as well. I'm fortunate. I remember you actually plan in college, and he had a brilliant NFL career. But you also obviously got it done. Very well the good old days back in Morgantown, West Virginia. You guys were you guys were always good teams back then we had a lot of fun patent Steve slate, and I wrote their coattails to a lot of wins. I walked out of there with an all time point score leader. And then I just If think you think about about it. it man rich rod was I mean, I I don't know if you're paying or not, but he was head of the game with this whole uptempo, and we're in the different wrist bands. And in a crazy guy on the sideline, and he was one of the first guys to really make that style. And and you know, he did it, you know, it's smaller schools and then there's an office coordinator, Clemson. And and then of course, when when he had Pat white Steve Slayton, I mean that was that was about as good as it gets. But I think a lot of people started to copy that offense and what they were doing. And now we see it all over the all over the country every week. I think he would tell you that too by the way. Kirk I want to dig into you a little bit. So you were a higher state starting quarterback? There senior your your dad was also how state Buckeye captain..

"To your. Field. And from that to Heather. On twitter. I want to go get some details. But we are hearing. He is in times. Congratulations. My favorite Edgar memory, which I don't know if anyone else will even have this memory except for me. Eagle heart. Actual best eagle hardware guarding commercial. Where's Edgar Martinez like Mesa messing around in the woodworking area? And there was like what is he doing? I have a little and he's like working on stuff. And at the end, he's. My favorite. Edgar moment. My kids were toddlers the year that the M's just had a fabulous year one hundred sixteen games, and I turned the games on in the background while we're playing, and my guy is listening to the crowd chant. Edgar and he looks up first word out of this kid's mouth ever Edgar. Did this day? I can't tell that story at home. Because my my husband says, no he said, dad get. Yes. He said dad, I sure Edgar was a classic awesome. Mike Lewis went on social media. They you are you're afraid, man. You said I'm gonna get torn apart. So Mike Lewis turned to be the sinecure a little bit. I wasn't me and a cynic nora's I being a skeptic. I'm merely said and actually I'm happy that he's in the hall of fame. I said one I am not if I'm a nationally guy by from birth. I am not a fan of the designated hitter. I have never been I think it does not belong in baseball. However, the any arguments about whether or not someone should be in the hall of fame if they are designated hitter is moot. If you make it a legal position in your sport, punter and football, just happened in the hall of fame Ray guy, if it's a legal position at absolutely should be hall of fame eligible, and if you're going to make it hall of fame as eligible, obviously Edgar Martinez should be in there. But I said, I don't like the D H, which usually gets people. Kinda riled. Randy Johnson who entered the hall of the Diamondbacks. He was talking about Edgar Martinez. And he said I faced a lot of hall of fame hitters and all my gosh. Edgar was the best hitter that I ever saw. He did so much for Seattle. He made me look good during my career there. The first person on my ballot. Who would get my vote is Edgar and one other funny sort of Edgar related story. So that I can call of the of the double right? We all know about it from nineteen ninety-five the photographer who took that shot that everyone knows about Ken Griffey junior looking up from home plate and smiley. Everyone forgets his arm around and right next to him era. But the the funny thing about it is the photographer who took that photo. Once said, I think she I don't know if she was working for the Associated Press of the at the time that was the moment was so tense. She had forgotten to replace the film. Our camera back for kids. This is before before. Cameras had digital photography and memory cards. She had forgotten replace the film in her camera because the moment was so fried. And no one wanted to set anything down that picture. That's probably the most famous photo in Seattle sports history was the last picture in the role. And if it had if it had happened a second later, she would have actually not gotten that picture if you wanna share Edgar memories nine eight nine seven three you're pointing at Andrew you never pointed answer. But you're pointing let you know that he's Andrew the producer will speak. But you turn your mic on. It's a thing. We do here at the radio which got the official announcement here if you would like to hear yes, Edgar being inducted. Let's do that over eighteen seasons with the Seattle. Mariners. Edgar bed at three twelve with three hundred.

"But that's absolutely true. Like you put in the work. You do the homework United. Everybody likes to be recognized. Sandwich themselves competent, you'd like to talk about them. Cells but ended to not it's not sucking up. Like, there's a natural to do this. Yeah. Of all of you. You know, we are often in for shows for staffing on shows. And you've all staffed on shows that maybe you're not so interested in how those meetings go. Rens? Well, I mean, you know, I I don't think I've ever really interview for show. I didn't want to be on because I always needed to work. But I always I mean, so yeah. But I do think I do think it's kind of small town in the sense that a lot of people know other people, and I think if you give a very if you throw the interview just because you feel like you're not into the show. I think that people will talk that show him. We'll be like Jack. It'll be like, hey, who you meeting with again that Ray guy? You know what I'm out with him. And he wasn't. Yeah. No, I didn't really like him. I mean that can so you don't ever want to like not be interested that make sense? I mean, I think you always want to give your hundred ten percents every interview on your heart. Maybe you keep it to yourself. And then you pick another job when you. Ever want to right in my radio. You can always make something work. If you don't if you don't love it. You'll grow to love it or I mean, that's the job right now. Your job, you're not gonna love every show, you get possible thing respond to and maybe it's the people, and maybe it's the show. I would way more work than show that I didn't like with great people. People in both of those experiences. I have had the gamut of all then. And I wait rather be on the other one. Something I think you can find me to love on any. Yeah. Just like a character. Just like a thing at the very least you're like. Okay. Well, I get free lunch. Thanks. I could make this better. This something I like. That's the way I've always approached like, I'm just going to write the hell out of this really good make some jokes that I wanna I wanna put man they get through. Are you all finding the when you work on other people's shows? Are you finding the opportunity to tell stories that are meaningful or personal to you? I yeah, I I feel like I've been able to like I've been able to pitch things that were sort of close to me and seeing kind of develop that sorry think of cold, and I feel kind of lucky that I've been able to and usually I try to find things that obviously are working within the framework of the show. And usually it's like, oh, I like we're trying to figure this thing out. I have experience it's something like this. What do you think about that this or that? And sometimes that'll world you give me an example do anything from the past couple years. Let's see I think the first thing I can think of is actually I was a writers assistant on here. Now, Allen falls recent show, and I was very much like not trying to be the kind of. System this trying to pitch and so on, but I had an idea for something. I told one of the other writers and she was like oh. And then she asked the room like is it? Okay. If pitches this and so they're trying to figure out one of the characters in all all the adult children are adopted. And I was like what if this the buck one is from Liberia, which is where my mom's from them because we're trying to find a foreign country in another writer is like it'd be nice sort of have the sort of history of American black people, and I'm like Liberia does both in. So I prepared a whole pitch in like I came in and pitched it, and they're like, this might work..

"I don't know what the TV situation is at when would yard. But I had agreed to do this DJ set before the Browns proved to be awesome. They got flex in the primetime playing at Denver on Saturday night. Yeah. Playoff implications between the Browns and the Broncos and certainly for both teams and said, basically in the limitation game playoff implications. I'm a little offended that we're in nineteen playoff implications. The Broncos are on a bit of a heater. We're going to have to see how they replace manual Sanders. I think it's I think it's overstated to say that the Broncos are on a bit of a heater. I think that's overstated. What's the record? I think they've won three in a row. What's their record? They just be to the Steelers. What is their case keenum Bengals what is there? I think their events. Joseph and them, boys. Are what is six and six it sounds about right? Look it up. How many teams how many teams go wait a second? They'd beat the chargers. And then they beat the sealers, and then they took care of business. Philip Lindsay at a monster game at Cincinnati. Yes. I would say that qualifies as a heater it on the poll. Please are the Broncos on a heater. Those are impressive wins. Those are big wins. I I mean, the titans have have some nice victories. And what that's weird they're seven and six like, okay. The titans of being the Cowboys. And they've been the patriots. And what did you see dick Derrick Henry could run that fast? I did not know that. Winner. Right. Yeah. But you know, like, they're never better than they are in college those SEC running. That's all I had to add up. Sorry. Oh, the stugatz move. Nickname moose speed train. Speaking of who'd he got when in the Heisman guy because your smaller what happened with this. I don't have this. It was who was he was might miss by thousand to win the award air. But he he was down Twenty-eight fourteen got hurt. And you saw they don't need him to win figured it out. It's all about it's all about what like national nationally televised. Big games. That's why they call it. Like have you had a Heisman moment he had his Heisman? And I was a bad one. I'd be totally opponent. I'd be totally okay. Given the Heisman moment situation or home in situation, homey. Totally okay. If they invited Jalen hurts the Heisman ceremony. That is here and more mine's been moment than anybody. And then damn sport this year. It's absurd. It's absurd. If you just change the game's around in the last game that you saw was calamari struggling in overtime to beat army you'd think about this differently. It's unfair. And I say that because I took a future onto and I'm a little upset about how things are going. They split the awards last night. So many words Walter you should be angry at my father. My father is simply not voting for him because he plays for Alabama with your you've been on a on a on a crusade to get your father's Heisman vote taken. I feel like it should match the last few last few shows, I feel like I've heard you just mock how he doesn't really deserve a vote publicly you want somebody to come get it. I'm a little jealous. No one is taking that vote. He's taking that with him to the great like that my father protects that vote. He he calls me and find out when the deadline on dozens research like no one is taking does this research who does he have third you'd have to ask him, and he won't tell you until after the Heisman Trophy won't be. Oh, he does the research. He doesn't watch much college Caesar's invited anyplace orders, please, please. No spoiled this for me, where do you get there? You could call them you need to know like who starts to off the ballot because call them. Let's call him and ask him right now. You're gonna get his vote taking dang congratulates. You know, he's not allowed to say who voted for than we I are. I I, but I think third he can tell us. Okay. What's with all these awards? These names. These college awards would be much more popular if they could like the kicker award best linebacker award. This like Ray guy, or Lou Goza, John McEnroe's No know that that but. does. "They were all over the place in different like handwriting styles. And then you could tell any aboard and changed pans or. Left and lost the pen and came back and tried to finish the sentence. And just to see all the journalism work happened on those pads like that like you can just feel like you're in the middle of that process. I used to be really good at that last decade going on location and soaking in the scene and taking these little crazy notes that only out understand. And then being able to understand what the notes were later and be like, oh that one word. Oh, yeah. That was when I actually can't. Trigger a memory. You're just like I'm going to remember this. But what I'm going to remember it by by saying like blue door on this weird bar, whatever. Like the reason. That's there is because all this stuff happened outside of that bar, whatever, you know, what I mean. But you wanna remember these little details. And being Ray guy able to rate notes as you're looking around. That's a whole other thing. It's like you're learning this short. I remember I went to the Super Bowl the first one the pats wanted to and I did a thing on media day. If you read it, it's like, a running diary like I did for my computer. And it was like Jane gains, by the way. Oh, yeah. There you go. It was. It was all shorthand media day me writing Timestamps and just being like twelve to in just like things that I remember later I could never do that now. And now, you wouldn't really need to do it. I think about this screening three of a movie in the person who's sitting next to me was furiously taking notes the whole time. And I never take notes when I'm watching a movie, even if I'm writing about it. And I think in some ways that's bad. And in some ways, it's good because it's good in the way that like you're absorbing it fully you're locked in. You're letting yourself remember it? I do have a very good memory of always had a very good memory. So that's not appropriate. Maybe as I get a little bit older. I will struggle in that but holler when you turn forty Trump. Sure, I will have some bouts of forgetfulness. But there's something about not just the way that those guys kind of do their craft, but the way that they act as people the win they're of like charming people, and then getting tough with people and the way that they ask a pointed question, then they pull back. I'm reminded of that scene with them slow near the end of the movie when he's like, oh you. My wife had a baby girl I love that scene so much because it shows that there's like what's even better than that though. He's they're about to leave. And he's like, oh, hey, you wet fed baby businesses done, and then we can be. He was talking to the Baker. The fuck maker flirting with various people just like, you know, she's like all my friends told me about what did they say? What did they say these playing apart Joan like this this seduction? That's why one of the reasons. Three of us lived this movie so much is because and we did this. I think three years ago when spotlight came out, and we talked about spotlight versus all the president men, and we're talking about this new generation of writers. And we have some of them air. We have great people. But a lot of them don't we're not there reporting for years and years and learn the nuances of so we try to send people out especially younger people just like go to the Lakers locker room and just go and try to talk to people and make connections. And but that's what the seventies. The seventies were all about working people for sources and working people for information and going to courtrooms for eight hours. Not knowing anything was even going to happen. That's the setup of the movie right walking into that courtroom. Yeah. I mean, the scene this would ever happen. But the scene the famous wide shot of them at the library congress when they're just going through all these cards for hours and hours and hours and now you just frigging Google, right? Wouldn't after that. All right, four more rewatch seen..

Obviously the journey is fascinating, but let's dive right in on where your team is right now after a start that had a good deal of uncertainty, a huge last minute win this past weekend, insensitivity. How would you describe what that win meant to your team? At this point in the season was huge workforce. It was. We feel like it was the most win, very important game, especially going into a by we, we wanted to be able to have that good taste in mouth and keep them momentum. Going start to season slow at big winner, Cincinnati. Exactly what we need. You know, we're going to talk a lot about the team and kind of like your role with the team now relative to Levy on bell. But let's just talk about you for a minute. You know, when you knew that you were going to be the God that you're going to be someone who's going to be talented on running past game protection and with the ball. On your hand, what did people say to you? At the beginning of the season. Anybody come up to you and adviser to coach Tomlin and the guy just kind of let you go and let you be your own your own guy. That's exactly what they did. Coach t my teammates. This let me be me. Never tried to be nobody else, just new, what hard work. And I knew myself talent would I had a minute. Things would go into motion and work out well, so the off season was big off season for me working out every day train really hard for the situation I was with whether or not there was going to be a hold out or or anything like that. So this mentally ready physically ready, and they just let me be myself. What did you know of loving on's plans before the season began? Well, when other rookie in Lord, I ain't going to training camp here to. I didn't know if he was gonna show up again. So was like, you know what? My momma prepare like the start for the situation that may be possible. And that's what it is. That's where we're at right now and sorta hard work than off as a teammate levian Bill as a teammate. How's he been with you even in your first year and in the off season this year, you have much contact with them. Have you had contact with them all? Has he tried. To advise you through this and you'll say, look, even though I'm not there, let me help you out and try and keep you going to give you some tips. Yeah, we're not face to face obviously, you know, but he always lets me know what I'm doing well and, and let me know what things are going. Right. So let person already said Ray guy. You know, it's just the business aspect of it. You know, I'll start looking at people, you know, going to judge them and stuff, but no, I can get a vice when whenever and he's a great person. So I had a support a tweet of some things that you've done. So that was public, but privately, he's been in contact as well. What, what conversations have you been having with him as this season has gone up? No long conversations, but just let me know him the right things. Let me know him doing well. You have to big plays stuff. You seem to tweet and everything and I got text from so things are good between us. Look, people try to keep things in house in the locker room and you don't wanna let a lot of things out there because really it doesn't know good for you guys, although it does a lot of good for us because there's a lot of stuff to talk about, but really internally as much as you can tell us, what is it? What? What's the feeling towards Levy on in the locker room? Because you know early in the season, you know. I myself and we talked a lot about it on this show that it seemed like some people were annoyed with him with how he was approaching his contract situation. But in the event when he does come back, how do you think the team will receive it? I'm not sure. Okay..

"You can't give free yards to any offense. You're kicking game needs to be Ray guy esque and yes, I'm dating myself for any of you young guys that don't know Ray geigo look, Ray guy up, you know, maybe the best player in NFL history. You need Ray guy, plenty. You need directional putting, you need to pin teams. You need to win that Phil go paddle. Or if you feel position battle, this defense is just not good enough right now pass Russia's inconsistent. They're bad on the back end. You can't give up any free yards in Jordan berry in essentially pooch putting stuff to the forty and giving rookie quarterback on fire, half a feel, not good enough. You know it's not good enough at all, but let me say this Jeff. 'cause I got called out on Twitter. I, I don't know who the person was in big up a on, forgetting your name. And yes, it's not an IT a couch. I call you Mr. Kia. Up to divest. I Don, I couch, but I got caught out on Twitter about me, not ripping Tomlin. Let me just say this right now. He saw in day suck because this ain't good enough and it lack of preparation is showing. And you know, I hear it every week. Well there to Tatler so talented, maybe they might not be talented, but you can get more out of it. They're not prepared. They did not look prepared today, and this is on Tomlin and that coaching staff in that defense has no answers. And that's to the fault of the defense coordinator end the head coach, my Tom when you come out and give up twenty one zero in the first quarter with like nine minutes to go it, you're not prepared. And that's when the coach he is not doing a good job. So there you have it on Twitter, I rip Tomlin and I'm not afraid to retirement if they continue to play like this, I will continue to rip Tom. So there. It is. Yeah, he deserves a lot of criticism for this game in. Although the coordinators might be the ones that kind of design the plans himself. He's the one that oversees the coordinator. So extreme ownership starts at the top and works its way down. And so with Mike Tomlin, I think when people talk about other, so talented and all this and it's true, just like everything else, you know, I've always said to my students or anyone that wants to talk about health and nutrition. You know, they might be a crooked drug, say, follow the money. You see the advertisers will who's paying for it. That's what I always say. Let's follow the money with the Steelers defense where they have all their money invested in the defense Steph onto it. Cameron Heyward. They go out and get Morgan brunette. Joe Haden doesn't even get it through get through a complete game without getting injured. There's your money right there. Everyone else is. Basically, John Kasich will say that he's not a ridiculously wealthy contract, but he's a free agent pickup. Vince Williams, they just invested in him other than that. Have guys that are playing on young talent, but young rookie rosters route rookie contracts. Duprey is got his fifth year option picked up. I'm telling you, man, I, there are times as a coach. Lance, you coach, I coach where you say, you know what? They were just better. They were the better team today we didn't. We didn't play. Well, I don't think this was that game. Patrick Mahomes impressed the hell out of me, but the Steelers defense did little to nothing to push back. There was no pushback at all, and I find it frustrating Cameron Heyward and Steph onto were basically a wash the entire game, TJ watt for rate as he looked last week going against Chris Hubbard and it was Chris Hubbard bud debris. It's the same old story with bud. I mean, he's when you're notice more for jumping off sides and you are getting to the quarterback that. Duct debris debris. Yeah. And then I don't know it just it some of the stuff on my everyone's like, oh, what a great play by Hayward that hustle played, it caused a fumble, tremendous play. Will your forgetting his Mike Hilton and two other Steelers? Whiffed on tackles prior to the fumble, right. That's a face. I mean, it had that that stuff going on so wins, what are your?.

"Market with two hundred fifty employees. Abia them have allowed the company to do it. I was wondering if you guys would allow the company to do it to you guys. If this company wanted to do what the company has done Ireland, Jay, and Mike, the company has implanted a microchip, the size of a large grain of rice into their hands in paddock between the thumb and forefinger. Okay. When scanned by Rita, the chips are used to make purchases in the company cafeteria and to gain access to the building and for logging into workstation. So here's the question if ESPN seven, ten wanted to implant a microchip into your hands. Would you guys get the chip or do you? Do you think this is a good idea? Or would you say no way, Mike? What do you think? Would you let them implant a chip in you? It depends on if they're paying us more. I would think about it, but other than that, no. Right. Jay. Now, not at all, but what happens if you leave the company? Did they take it out. They can, I guess, take it back out because it's not like under your skin actually sits on top. He's getting, you can see. It looks like just like a grain of rice. I am put on your. Hi, I'm not exaggerating. This is the worst idea I have ever heard, and I can't believe that eighty. People agreed to think about when the what they could use, they can track all your whereabouts when you're not at work. That's right. I've got hanging around my neck. I got an ESPN fob in an ID. That's all they need out of me. They don't get my whole life. They don't get to implant things under my skin, Pearson, jeez, you could be bought for anything hug, Kimmy more money, and I might do it. Keep me more money. Can I have brain surgery? I mean, what is wrong with? You know, you're not letting company implant a microchip, less an experiment. So you never know, could be unhealthy for the cancer agree to voluntary surgery on behalf of your employer. This is a company ESPN lays people off every year ching, how much. Talking it that is a Michael that you wouldn't do it, would you never? I would never do somebody a God. Awful idea eighty Mason. We're here. P Mason would hate this idea even more than me and I hate it with all my will. People do if they double just salaries, doubled it. W is still wouldn't do it. What time is my search. All right, Michael. The NFL contributors committee announced today that they've put two guys up for potential hall of fame induction Broncos owner, Pat Bowlen, and Cowboys executive Gil Brandt who is in charge of all their drafting in the in the seventies those two guys are up for hall of fame nomination. But it got me to thinking. There are a lot of great players and other people who aren't in the hall of fame yet, I'll give you a name. You can ask Mike and Jay for help if you need it, but you're normally pretty good at this stuff. I'll give you a name. You tell me yes or no. Is this player currently a member of the NFL hall of fame. All right. You ready? Sterling. Sharpe. Sterling. Sharpe. Sterling shop? He's a tight end rightful wide receiver talkers over a thousand career reception. Yeah. No, he's not in the hall yet. That is a correct answer that he had Sterling Sharpe. I don't have my by bell, but that is incorrect answer. Thank j. John Madden is John Madden. For to these Ray guy, the old raiders punter one of the greatest pundits ever. I think he finally got in. Yes, you're three for three Ray guy did get in. All right. The prototypical running quarterback played for three different teams. Randall Cunningham? No, he's not in correct four for four c. j. I don't need to help them this. All right person. You only know boxing, I knew knew about Ray guy for sure. Right. Ken stabler the snake. Is he in the hall of fame? Yeah. Staves in five. For five. Michael famous. Okay. Morton Android, he's in greatest kicker. Ever wanted the grades tickets as in you jinx yourself..

"I not pinpoint accurate like I normally am. But this right here, this is unacceptable. True. My. What did that once afternoon? I dropped a pass from John and man. I got the ball that was unacceptable wall. Exactly. Let me finish story thought I was Ray guy. Oh, Buddhist. Get hair like five. Hang time might call eight four. He's like daily. You do like. I would say about maybe singing. You know what? That's not what we do say, if we catch it, we don't understand what you're first-rate. You drop the pass, but we don't do that. I hear. Okay. Lesson learn. I'm a leader. And so what happens now? Rosman drop a ball. He put it understand airdrops a path. He's gonna put it in the stands for what? So every gronk drops the past. He puts it in the crowd decker drops a pass, another one. He put it in the ground. So now you just got bald booming. So now you got like twelve thirteen pundits I think think -ceptable. -ceptable scale. Even by time three time MVP Dom rate it that is unacceptable behavior. My turn is your finally, what was that? I was watching my watch that like seven minutes over and actually if four minutes and thirty seven cents really you time. Cred loaded. You'll have time during the break to watch it all back. You did. What do you call them? CJ pull it up really clip. So are you not the same hall of fame, Shannon, Sharpe just the other day on the show agreed with me that Aaron Rodgers completely out of bounce for calling out publicly his receivers after a camp. Publicly called them out for a piss poor practice. Absolutely. And Shannon Sharpe said that is unacceptable except so did Tom Brady go to the media after this and call out all his receivers by name? Did he say he dropped balls and he dropped balls and he dropped balls? Did he do that? Did he call it a piss poor practice? He did not didn't talk to the media that I'm aware of because I didn't see a single quote from Tom Brady. So how many times Mr. sharp. Do you think that the guy I often call psycho, Tom Brady has punted the ball during practice out of frustration. How many times do you think he has over his twenty years? I've only have documentary on the one. Well, I will bet you. It's dozens. I will bet you because he's psycho would always tell you nobody has ever driven himself harder in practice after practice after camp practice or regular season practice or any practice then this quarterback has. I will bet you many times he has punted the ball and frustration or fired the ball somewhere and frustration. He just gets like that. Now. Let's frame it. Let's do context. You gave us a hint of context, but not the full blown context here because both reports that I read said, the weather conditions were ugly. That was the word used ugly, that it was foggy. It was misty rain and sometimes just flat out rain. The conditions were slippery, and the ball was just as slippery, the temperature to drop into the low sixties, and they had just had a lengthy late afternoon, hot weather, workout the night before on Sunday evening into toward sunset, Jeff, and Bella check made income right back out for an early Monday morning practice in, you know how that feels. It is not fun. Nobody's going to be in a very good mood. Am I right? You're in Tom Brady had by far his worst camp practice today. He completed stat out sixteen of twenty nine. So that's thirteen incompletions which were by far a camp high in the teen drills that you can actually keep score and keep out of. So by Tom Brady standards, greatest quarterback ever obviously by far the best quarterback going today to it was a horrendous workout. It was wrong wrong wrong from the start, and it ended with the pocket starting to break down. He tried to scramble. He tried to go safety valve to James white, who's just standing on the sideline, and he goes high and outside and out of bounds..

"So I was looking at the chart of today's matchup for the Anki against the royals and his four seamer was the yes. He still had some elevated ones. Got five wis on that ten called strikes total on on sixty four, four seamers, but they use it all over the zone. It wasn't just up in zone. It was a lot down as well, and that is a little concerning for me. I think that does. Work best when he saves a four seamer for elevations and maybe used two seamers or sliders changed. Gerbasi has a lot of kind of junk in his for a secondary pitch to make them. But I think overall it does work, especially nullifying left easy. Nikki steams very good being a lefty. So I'm not worried about that stadium for hap-. I think overall just helps them. And I think this is alternately is a three six year Ray guy with about a one fifteen once one to whip. And with that pair that with this elevated strikeout Ridgewood, which I do think can stick around twenty five percent. Plus that's a really good starter. And that's kind of how I've been treating hap- through the year. He's around thirty for me because of that. Obviously, there is flow for worse. I mean, we're seeing that right now with a four one and change year Ray, but I think that that's going to come down as the season goes on. I think the ink is are only going to emphasize his eye qualities any. I mean for the for the playoffs, it's Tanaka. It's happ-. It's. CC Severino and that's really all you think so too. I think it's that four. And then with that amazing bullpen, you don't even eat all of them to really do much. That's that's kind of the beauty of of the Yankees bullpen. Obviously, they strengthened it with by adding Britain when it was already one of the sickest in in the entire game. So the Yankees are positioning themselves. Well, obviously on the offensive side, something that we don't even acknowledge what are hitters, do they even exist? Who knows who's ever even seen hitter? But they've lost two two key hitters, but they're pitching and as long as they get those guys back on track four Tober they're going to be a force to be reckoned with. Let's talk about another team that's kind of scraping a little bit. I mean, the beauty for that for the cubs is that it hasn't been a good season a great season in terms of everything working in harmony. And yet they still have a half game lead. They're still well positioned to make the playoffs. But it does feel. Doesn't feel like sixty and forty four team, and it's primarily due to that starting pitching. So they went out and tried to address it by getting Cole hamels. A guy was had a lot of success there. You may remember his his, his no hitter was their small samples. So I'm not going to go much off of any Wrigley numbers that he's that he's put getting hamels out of Texas back into the NFL. He's just one of those guys. Remember talking about this in the preseason with you, we weren't loving the outlook in Texas, but he, he's one of those guys. I have ever have a hard time writing off because he is a gamer, and I know that that's, you know, one of those words, what does that really mean? It was just I think it gets the most out of his talent all the way through and I still can see like, here's the thing if Cohen was goes to Chicago and puts up like a three fifty from the rest of the for the rest of the season. I'd be zero percents apprised if the home runs came down, it gets out of Texas, you know, gets few extra strikeouts pitch. Against pitchers. I can totally see it and maybe even something better what I project it no projecting more for like a four twenty on he's out of four seventy two. This year. The home runs have been key. The homework has been terrible in Texas. What do you think about Cole hamels getting out of Texas and into Chicago with the cubs. I'm so conflicted about Cole hamels. I mean, you mentioned a right? It's twenty point, seven percent home or five rate with a one point eight home for nine. In this previous five seasons. We're talking like sub one and one point one home for nine. His career. Mark is one point..
