I do it and not a white bottles because I do it like in three different locations. Yeah, that's fine. Clivia in the winter likes to be on the dry side. Um So I mean, you can't get your finger roll away down there and I don't Exactly like those Elektronik meters. They don't think toe work very well. But when in doubt, just don't water The clivia, especially in the winter, Okay, I was afraid. I don't know whether it's underwater in a row over water and salt, Just Love. Water it too much. Yeah, Mine at the roots. They're so tight. I can't even get my finger in the soil. Okay, well, I just put them in list full. So that hasn't happened. You have the yellow or the orange. Of the yellow, Okay? Yeah, well, it's a nice one. Yeah. Uh, because I have both. Well, you're lucky. Yeah, they're big plants. Another. I've seen the pedal gardens and they still get quite big. That the people stop using see mate during the winter tons. A lot of people stop and pens on the plant. Coleus needed now. Um But most people stop until sometime in February, February that way. Well, I mean, December January, and then when the day's start to lengthen noticeably. That's when you absolutely to put it on early. February, is is you when people start Um Just do it all the year round because we're used to doing it. That's what I had been doing. But I wonder if I should stop for the winter. So you know it's so gentle. That I wouldn't. I just carry it home with it. Okay? I know I haven't seen any ill effects at all. From, uh, carrying on. Right? So you can use it with amaryllis than this time with a new bulb. Well, I wouldn't do the Ambrose until it starts to you know, if it's a new one, I do it. What water And then once it rice, then I withhold it. Still, it starts to grow. Okay? So once I said, growing that I could put it in with the same mate, right? Okay? Remember to keep it on the dry side to it starts to grow. Okay, Alan. Thank you. Take care. All right, bye. Go to things for Good morning, Roberta. Morning, Alan. Um, my brother's lawn is being overtaken by creeping Charlie. And I would like to help him get rid of the crease in Charlie and then re establish his mind. What would be the steps we would take and when we do it and what products we would use that he lives in Montgomery County. Isn't Montgomery County. One of those townies were not allowed to put anything on the lawn. Very much. Yeah, they have restrictions on what products you can use. But if if we if you you and I talk about what we could do like it on my lawn here and thinks, Burt, I might be able to, you know, coordinate it with his. Okay. This is what I would do. Um You know where I do on my lawn? What we do in your lawn and Finksburg. Okay. Okay. First thing God, please get rid of the creaking Charlie. Right. Okay. "That, Ray Good Tuesday morning. America's first news continues on this eight day of September and a new this morning. Nine CEOs of some of the largest drug companies in the world are making a historic pledge to uphold scientific integrity and put safety first as they I develop Corona virus of vaccines. Now it comes as the vaccine to shield Americans from becoming infected with the virus is emerging as the latest flash point in the race for the White House. Let's bring in our regular guest. Dr John Patou will joins us each Tuesday. This hour here on a F and you can find out more. Dr John on Health Doctor, John. Good Tuesday morning. Thank you for joining us as always. Good morning, Matt. Thank you for having me and gang are missing. Dr. John, I'm glad to have you here today because we've heard a lot of talk about when a vaccine will be developed. I've heard President Trump say, possibly in time for the election. Meanwhile, you have these drug companies making this historic Pledge Dr John right off the bat does by the end of the year mean a vaccine will be widely available in the United States. Let's look at it course. Up to 200 vaccine for the disease. Our understudy and several have gone on to the face. Three human studies. And you can have a vaccine, but it takes Time you cannot shorts that acute the gathering of data. Public health experts are hoping one or several vaccines for covert 19 will be ready by 2021. The current goal off FDA is to really worth $300 million. Office safe. And if FT Raksin by January 2021 the that Or anywhere seemed to be approved. It will need to prevent infection or disease or decrease its severity in at least 50% off the people vaccinated, so that's the war. That's the goal. What about the timeline? Though? We know this is Operation Warp speed? Doctor John, What are they doing to you? What is the warp speed? I mean, what are they doing in order to speed this up? The wasp Edie's development part, but not the testing part so that she's fine. According to experts, 60 to 70% of the population would need to develop antibodies, whether from a vaccine or getting We're getting it and recovering from corporate 19 to create what is called a herd immunity never works. If not enough, people get vaccinated, 11 or several are approved, It may be difficult to reach her immunity. The fact that the companies have to make the safety pledge as you mentioned a significant because this city is that already There is whites with concerns about bringing a vaccine at faster. Than any other waxen in the bus. So it is good for the companies to reassure the public. In dispassion. Otherwise, people may be hesitant to take the vaccine even if they are safe and effective. Dr John Let me ask you this. What happens if ah, member of the W H O gets a vaccine first doesn't look like that will happen. But there are several companies working on in several countries as well. We know the U. S has I said it will not be a part of it. What happens if the W H O gets a vaccine first know what does that look like for us? Well, Matt look extra present, According to the latest tally tally from Dark Hopkins University. There have been more than 10 million confirmed Corona virus infections worldwide. Synced of lattice crust. Identified in China late last year, with more than half a million dead. According to the her head off World Health Organization. Although many countries have made some progress globally, the pandemic is actually speeding up. And so if not extinguished worldwide, it can come back to us. So it is good. It doesn't matter who gets it. Let's get it started. Let's get started. Well, OK, So what decisions are governments making right now? So allocations? Khun begin. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently asked for a distribution plan to be ready Not just by county by county line but blocked by Brock. We need to identify Were the providers are But also when they are not And who lives in those areas. And who are the best messengers? Keep in mind the rats back 80 is expected to have 1000 doses. And it is on dry ice. You need to have a cold storage requirements and plans to get out smaller quantities to more rules areas and this takes careful planning, so it is good to have a plan. All by the time really, vaccine arrives. Dr John quickly we are up against the clock. I wanted Teo your thoughts on this past weekend, the long holiday weekend the end of summer. We know a lot of regular celebrations were Shut down. Florida just reported its lowest case count in nearly three months. We know the Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber is very concerned about the case's possibly spiking after this weekend. Ah Are you concerned about cases spiking this weekend after this weekend? And what have you seen from this past weekend? As we know, from college campuses, all putting when young people get together, they get restless. They won't have company They want to party. Outside parties seems to be not as bad as indoor parties. And at night when people are gathering. They don't know how close they are always wearing masks. Yes, it is. It is concerning just like cases spiking after the Fourth of July, when the largest single day surgeon new cases followed about a week later, Dr John how about we do it again next Tuesday. Thank you. All right. That's how Dr John He joins me each Tuesday. This hour here on a F and you can find out more of Dr John on health. "Unring Madame underway. Not under Ray. Good morning. Rachel. Hi. How are you? How are you? It was actually kind of funny. Thank you that. The the sad news to start with. Jane Golan news came out late last night. Yeah. She died at what cedar Sinai Medical Center in L A battling a brief illness. And depending on whether you believe. Either eighty or eighty one but remarkable life life well lived. Yeah. Either way eighty or eighty one it was a long while you know, I always enjoy talking to her I thought charming, classy and surface attack. We had a bunch of times for charitable, and they were they were you know, philanthropists they probably maybe the best known philanthropist in this area. Absolutely. See them every year at the whole ranch up in. Yeah. Thank you. Finish every. They were always so generous and just so sweet to talk to them as a couple and each of them individually to the really cute their own thing. And and I knew this refresh my memory, I forget that she taught so long skunik school district twenty three years, and then she retired from that. And then she she had a lot of different roles into price chopper, including goodwill ambassador, Oliver charitable endeavor. So yes, Jane Gola his passed away life. Well, lived in our condolences to kneel and the goal of family the Notre Dame. We're gonna have a correspondent bills in for around seven o'clock this morning, but it looks as if. We don't have a complete inventory yet. But it looks like most of the most prized if that's the right word cherished relics have been saved from the fire. It's good news. I mean as as the sun came up yesterday in Paris, if think it shed some light on what exactly they were able to save him. What they weren't. Fortunately, because there have been the renovations under under way, some of those things had already been removed in the crown of thorns the portion of the chronicle that they were so concerned about we had mentioned it comes out every Friday during lent. So it was readily accessible know, I was looking at some of the pictures to the came out yesterday of the firefighters in the building after the flames were out. It's amazing. How much is still stand? It is it really this. The damage is devastating. But given what we saw all black and charred, but you hope that that can be salvaged with you know, some good restoration. But in terms of obviously, the wooden stuff is gone. But the stone all of that is still standing. Towers the east side that worried about stability, even I saw them was interesting. They they they have large. All these things are heavy. They had a large statue on one of the spires. And they actually took a saw cut underneath it. Yeah. Pulled it off to reduce the weight because the constructive asked questions for obvious reasons. But yeah, in the the little bit of the actual cross that was there that was saved. There were all sorts of stories of heroism precent firefighters running in in almost doing what do you call the line where the firefighters line, and they were just getting stuff out quickly. So I saw I saw one report this morning that said that the organ like has like eight thousand pipes. That they're saying that it might not that might have been damaged somewhat. But I saw NBC last night where they said incredibly it suffered virtually no damage so that was. Your spiritual or religious. But it's it's amazing. The things that were they were able to save and you have to wonder if there was some sort of divine intervention that was a massive massive fire. Interviewing woman mechanical tornado a year after that happen. And she their entire house was leveled except for Curio cabinet that was filled with ceramic, angel's the only thing that was still seeing your house. Anything of something so fragile that survive you have to wonder. You have to wonder the the other thing, though, the CD side of this thing somebody was purported to be selling remnants of the charred timber on EBay on EBay. They pulled the listing already. Someone says gravity of timber from the fire. It's absolutely tacky and for people who were dead. I mean, the entire country in in the world really were shocked at this. That's just so EBay will lay sell stuff like that they cash in on tragedy, which is which is good for them. So, and I always wondered is that they really haven't the actual goods probably. Piece of a dead tree and Senate to you doubly evil, right? The we have we have an update on a very strange story. We talked about a couple of months ago this college St. rose graduate who came back, and then in certain a bunch of USB killers, you know, the trying to ruin dozens of school computers any did to the tune of almost sixty thousand dollars the damage this happened in mid February. So he's pleaded guilty. Now, this twenty seven year old I still unclear as to what his motives were. He's not saying not saying recorded himself doing it too. I know they're not serve what his motive was. Yes. Elena. Dented him for video surveillance in a bunch of different locations as you said he recorded himself. And so he's he destroyed all these all these computers for we don't know what his grudge was or what he was trying to accomplish. But anyway, he's plead guilty. Now. He's in custody in North Carolina back in February faces up to ten years in prison of two hundred fifty thousand dollar fine. He'll be sentenced in August. So still wondering about what was up with that case. One of the thing. We also mentioned that it was down in Sullivan county, where some fentanyl laced weed was discovered, in course, Fenton, unless you you're heavy heroin user, grown immunity to it. The tiniest speck and kill you. And we were you know, there was a statewide warning. I watch out for this weed that's tainted with potentially deadly feno. There's a chance maybe it's migrated as far north as glens falls. We talked about it. I think it was either yesterday or Friday that they were warning that this is making its way north and you had at this point already passed us, but they're seeing a number. I'd increase in the number of overdose deaths that they normally see and they're not sure if it may be attributed to this we'd with fencing, but some of their informants up. There have reported to them that it's already out on the streets. Surprised that they say that officials have confirmed its presence up. Here really scary. So yes, it's here. But whether it was a factor in these particular overdose deaths are not quite sure four overdose deaths in a short amount of time and glens falls PD say that's way, more than they. Right. Normally would have. People who smoke weed generally aren't heroin at the same time. So you may be a recreational weed smoker, you're not not going out to intentionally by fennel. And then for you know, it it's in your system, and you're dead. I mean, we're not we're not we're not endorsing illegality by any means, right? When you when you get a bag of heroin. You know, there might be nil. And you know, you're taking a big chance with your life. When you buy a bag a weed not so much before Chuck.

So I do want to repeat that message. Ask the folks in Texas about hurricane Ike. They came in only as a category to all right because here's what hasn't changed with Florence going from four to a to the storm surge forecast and the water rise north, South Carolina coast still same highest around Wilmington nine to thirteen feet. So the water rise is still going to be the same the amounts of rain falling from the sky and adding up has not changed either thirty plus inches in some spots. The winds have gone, yes. From yesterday. One forty one point down to one thirty for multiple hours now down to one ten but a sustained one ten and a storm that's going to be slowing down or potentially stalling and moving very slowly. Yeah. I wouldn't be deceived by a storm that's gone from category four to category. So there will still be widespread and significant impacts. I don't wanna go catastrophic. I just don't like the word myself, but you're Wilmington and point south out into maybe even Myrtle Beach beach erosion high water rise. I'm glad everybody's getting out. So the speed of this things interesting because typically with a lot of hurricanes you'll get a couple of hours, maybe these hurricane force winds. And then all of a sudden everything's starts to calm down and people come out of their homes and begin cleaning up and in Wilmington, North Carolina. If you're down there right now, how long are you facing hurricane-force winds? Berkey force. Winds will start working in later today tonight and the low slowly moves in over the course of the next two days, and they could actually have twelve hours or more of sustained hurricane force winds worst case scenario and a lot of rain to coming out at the same time. So with a slow movement picture what? Yesterday, the weather service or the Hurricane Center measured out over the water. Some eighty foot waves all that still has to propagate toward the coast to know, regardless of now that it's a cat to now. Of course, they'll be dampened a bit. But with the slow motion to you're going to have the continuous northeast pushing that right front quadrant near the Wilmington area. Depending exactly where that center is. And it's going to be consistent for hours. There's going to be at least two high tide cycles at water is going to continue to be pushed up against watering. That's trying to get out to the Atlantic. From the heavy rain. That's falling into the creeks. The rivers the streams in north and South Carolina. So those. Things are going to be fighting each other in the water is going to meet in one place, and it's going to continue to pile up. Yeah. And that's what you see especially with the building along the coast, the water doesn't have anywhere to go. Right. And it's going to fall back into you know, some of these sounds Pamela co sound forget about highway twelve in the Outer Banks that's already that's water on it yesterday, even two days ago from some of the water rise starting to come in from the high surf, and we will continue to see that in those conditions deteriorate and for us here in the district in surrounding areas in central Maryland and Virginia, maybe a brush next week with leftover moisture or remnants from Florence. That's certainly possible. So.
