I am Matt Verderam alongside Gilberto Manzano as always here in the midweek edition of the show. We've got a lot to get to because last week might have given us the best slate of games we're gonna have all week long. We had four games that everybody thought were gonna be great and as it turned out, three of them were pretty good. One of which was a blowout. We'll get to all them here in a minute then of course we have our week 10 lines of five games that we're gonna focus on from our SI Sportsbook odds and then from there we also have the midseason awards that we have to get to as we are halfway home in the 2023 NFL season. Before we get to all that, let's welcome the other man of the tandem, Gil, what's going on man? How you been? Yeah, I'm doing well. Matt, as you know, I like to brag about my wins and complain about my losses and last week was a good week. I went 12 -2 with the picks but I am pretty disappointed that I betted against Joshua Dobbs. What a game, right? Unbelievable. I'm annoyed. You went 12 -2, I went 11 -3 and I feel like 11 -3 should have given me some bragging rights for the week and yet it did not happen. So I will say on the whole, our group, yourself, myself, Connor, Orr, Albert Breer, Mitch and John our editors and Claire, another editor of ours as well that does great work, I feel like everybody's picks have been really pretty good this year. There are some years you look at picks and go, oh my god, I'm barely above 500. Right now, I've got the sheep pulled up in front of me, so the best record is Albert who's 95 -41, went 11 -3 last week and then after that, Claire Kawana is right behind him with 92 wins and then in gold it says 87 wins and then it's myself, yourself, John and then Connor Orr at 75 and 65 pulling up the rear, so Connor's got to step up. Connor is bringing down the credibility of this entire group. That's not bad for last play, so 10 games over 500? His thing is, we all do our upset picks and he's done 50 upset picks. I think I've done like 16. So that's part of the reason, but yeah, the picks are good and of course people that want to can read those over at SI .com, we put them out every week. The editors are nice enough to put that together. All right, so last week, like I said, we had some great games. We had Chiefs Dolphins over in Germany and then we had Ravens, Seahawks, which we thought would be a great game, turned out to be a massacre, Late Window, Cowboys, Eagles, which was one of the wildest games I can remember seeing in quite some time and then of course we had Bills, Bengals at the end, the Sunday night game there and so like I said, we'll get to all those. Let's just start with how the day actually started. Over in Frankfort, Chiefs build up a 21 -0 lead on Miami. Miami comes back, makes it 21 -14. They had a couple drives at the end where they could have tied the game, even taken the lead if they went for two. They got into Kansas City territory both times, but both times ended up going backwards, lose the game. They dropped to 6 -3. Chiefs, of course, improved to 7 -2. Both teams go on their bye weeks. I'll So, let you set the stage here, Gilberto. What is it to you, is it more about the Dolphins that game or is it more about the Chiefs? It is more about the Dolphins because they can't beat a team with a winning record and don't tell me the Chargers are .500 and the Dolphins beat them. They barely got to .500, so I am concerned about the Dolphins, but I don't want to let the Chiefs off the hook, Matt, and I know you've been writing about this, but the Dolphins have been pretty average. It got to a point where now Mahomes is saying, yeah, we sting. We're pretty bad. Go talk about the defense. That defense is carrying us the entire season. You know what's kind of funny, Matt? This season, it feels like the team with the best defense might win the Super Bowl, and the Chiefs still have the best defense right now, it feels like, so it's kind of a weird irony, but you expect better from Mahomes and Kelsey, but the wide receivers, they can't create separation. And it wasn't for that awesome fumble, reverse play, whatever it was from Cook there. They would have probably lost a game there, but what's going on with the Dolphins offense? Averaging 17 points against the Bills, Eagles, and the Chiefs, so I go with the Dolphins there because I feel like the Chiefs could figure it out. It's halfway point in the season, they're just cruising by, and I think something will finally break out there, but I'll let you maybe talk about the Chiefs a little more. But the Dolphins, man, you're supposed to be the most explosive offense, highest scoring, and you can't even get a first down. It's like, do they have too many home run hitters? Too many touchdown makers? How about some chain movers? How about some first down people? How about some quick outs, and just get four or five yards, and everything just feels like a home run, and they don't adjust, and they don't kind of make end game adjustments because credit to the Chiefs, and Tyreek Hill said it too, they covered, there was great coverage on Tyreek Hill, so it's kind of one of those games where like, why not get a tight end that can help you out here? Why not get some guys that can make it easier? How about go to Raheem Oster a little more? He had like 12 carries, and he's averaging 7 .1 yards per carry, so I don't know what's going on with Mike McDaniel on two, and two was pretty bad in that second half there. Yeah, he had the touchdown to Cedric Wilson, but make some adjustments, Mike McDaniel, and stop going for the home run ball, Tua. Yeah, look, first of all, I agree, I think the Dolphins are the bigger storyline coming out of the game. Like, they've now played three really good teams, and they've lost all three of them, and they came back against Kansas City, but they were getting killed in that game too. They were 21 -0 midway through the third quarter, and frankly, if Chris Jones doesn't take one of the dumbest personal fouls you've ever seen, it's probably 21 -7, and we're having a different discussion. I think your point though, man, is good with the Dolphins in the sense of like, there's timing strung off. They're just dead in the water. They have no answer for it, and we've seen that now multiple times, this year and last year. Kansas City basically said, we're going to get up on the line of scrimmage, we're going to get our hands on Tyreek Hill, we're going to reroute them, we're going to cause problems. Look, who knows them better than the Chiefs, right? I mean, they know what can cause some issues, and they actually went back and watched practice tape of a couple years ago to try to figure out how to stop them. They went back and watched how they worked against him in team drills and practice, and tried to figure out some things, and it obviously worked. But from the Chiefs' angle of this, listen, the offense is a disaster, okay? They had 46 yards in the second half of the game in a turnover. But they're 7 -2 in the number one seed in the AFC because the defense is incredible, and they're just shutting people down left and right. If you go and look this year at teams that have played the Chiefs, nobody's thrown for 300 yards. Kirk Cousins came the closest. He was up in the higher 200s because he threw a million passes. But if you look at Gough's numbers, 253 yards, one touchdown, which was a good game. That was without Chris Jones that week. Trevor Lawrence, they didn't score a touchdown. He threw 41 times for 216 yards. Justin Fields threw for 99 yards. Zach Wilson, of all people, had one of the best days against him, 245 and two touchdowns. That game. wild And then you had Cousins, who went for 284 and two touchdowns on 47 attempts. Russell Wilson threw for 95 yards one game, and in the other game, the game that they won, he threw for 114. These teams, two I didn't throw for 200 yards. Nobody's throwing for yardage against them. They're second in the league in sacks, the first in pressure rate. They've got two elite corners in McDuffie and Sneet, and so, look, the question with Kansas City is obvious. Can this offense get going? Because if the offense gets going, they're probably the best team in the NFL. I mean, if they get even borderline top -10 production out of that offense, forget it. They have the week now to scout. I was texting with some people around the team, and I think there's a general thought of like, look, it's a bunch of little things that are throwing off the whole thing. Question is, how many of those little things can you fix in the next couple of months? The good news is you have Mahalem, you have Kelsey, you've got a good offensive line, you've got Andy Reid. The bad news is they have you and me at receiver. So, I mean, that's the question. My guess? They'll fix it to an extent. I don't think it's going to be a unit that you'll look at and go, oh my God, they're incredible. I think it's probably going to be a top -10 unit right around there at the end of the year. They're in the mix, but yeah, I agree, man. The Dolphins are definitely the thing that you'll look at right now, and the team you'll look at right now and go, all right, you're going to make the playoffs, but what are you going to do when you get there? Are you going to beat somebody good, or is there going to be a one -and -done? Matt, let me ask a quick question, because you watch this team closely, and I think I watch them good enough because they're always on prime time, but all these analytics people are saying, look at the EPA, look at the DVOA. They're top five in offense in all these categories, and I'm like, I get it. You keep showing me the numbers, but I keep watching the games, and the wide receivers are not that great. They're not scoring points. They had nine points against Denver, so I don't know what it is. Maybe when you said disaster, I'm like, okay, cool, because I was trying to play it safe. Maybe they're average because there's something here that I'm missing with the DVOA and the EPA. They're a disaster by their standards. By anyone else's standards, yeah, they're probably still an above -average offense, but by their standards, they're a train wreck. I will say this. People forget it because they won the Super Bowl last year. They were somewhat of a train wreck offensively the first half of last year, too. They had a bunch of games last year. They lost to the Colts last year. They muddled through a Chargers game that they ended up winning because of a pick -six that went 99 yards the other way. They struggled offensively against the Bills. They ended up beating the Raiders on a Monday night last year, but they were down 17 -0, and they needed to come back in that game. They were not good offensively for stretches of last season, and then they're them. In January, they cranked it up, and that was it. Even on one ankle, Mahomes did enough to win. But this has been the year before that. They were 3 -4 at the beginning of the year. They couldn't score a point in that season. That was the year Mahomes played, again, by his standards, not by anybody else's, but by his standards. He played poorly. You go to 2021, and they lost in the AFC title game. They were 3 -4, and then people say, oh, well, then they came out of it. They did in terms of that they won games. Their point totals after that 3 -4 start, they won 20 -17, 13 -7. Then they blew the Raiders out, scored 41, 19 -9, 22 -9. The last couple of years, they've had stretches like this, but by their standards, they're a disaster offensively right now. By the NFL's standards, they're probably somewhere between 10 -12th in the league offensively. So, got to take it for what it's worth. Yeah. All right. Let's get to the next game here. The Bengals and the Bills will go right to Sunday Night Football, speaking of a team that by their standards is an offensive disaster, despite what EPA will tell you. I'm not here to bag on the analytics, guys. I will tell you this. I'm a big eye test guy. You watch the Bills. My eye test, I don't care that they're fourth or whatever in EPA offensively. They have not been good over the last month and change. I don't think there's any way to say that otherwise. They go to Cincinnati. They made it a little bit closer at the end, but they were down 24 -10 with a few minutes left. They score a touchdown. They get the two, but they can't get the ball back. The Bengals now, 5 -3. Winners of four straight playing like we expected them to play at the beginning of the year. The Bills are 5 -4. It has been a struggle for them. They started the year 3 -1. Since then, they're 2 -3 going in the other direction. They have a very hard schedule. We'll get to that in a moment. What was your main takeaway from that Bengals -Bills game? Just the difference in quarterback play between Joe Burrow and Josh Allen and how to cover that game. I wrote about it. I kept seeing Joe Burrow moving around the pocket and extending plays. Then I look at the boxer, I'm like, wait, he has four rushing yards? I thought he ran for a bunch of yards. I know he had that one where he had the first down kind of signal. It's just when pressure comes, he knows how to move. It's smooth. It's not like he has to speed it up. He just says, okay, cool. You're right there, but I'm still going to do what I have to do and just extend plays. Matt, when it's Drew Sample and Tanner Hudson and Erskine Jr., Trenton Irwin, these guys are making plays. Then you look at Josh Allen, when the pressure comes, it looks difficult. It's chaotic. He has to kind of see what's out there and then, okay, force a throw or miss a throw. I get the Bengals defense is better than the Bills defense, so Burrow had maybe an easier time, but there was pressure. He was fighting pressure. I get it. The second there is not as good there, but it just seems harder for Josh Allen.

From 5K Straight to Marathon: Angel's Incredible Running Journey!

"Today we are talking to Angel Kona. Let's dive in to Angel's running journey. Welcome to the show, Angel. It's nice to have you here. Hey, thank you, it's nice to be here. So how did you get started running? Tell me your backstory. Well, it was the end of 2019, and I was turning 30, and I was like, you know, I should get in better shape, and so I signed up for the local writing 4K, which is actually coming up again here this month. And I was running the 4K, and it was going pretty well, and I thought, you know, I should run a marathon. So I went home and signed up for a marathon, and then COVID hit, so the marathon got cancelled, so I stopped training. And then another marathon came up, and I signed up for it, but I figured it would get cancelled, so of course I didn't train for it. So, yeah, I've ran my first marathon with not really any training, and never really ran any distance before that, so it's interesting. Yeah, most people don't go from 5K to marathon, and definitely not no training to marathon. But you finished your first one? Yeah, it took a while, and I did run some in the meantime, but nothing even up to a half marathon. Now when was that that you finished the first marathon? That was September of 2020. Okay. All right. And you said you ran a local 5K, what's local for you? Where are you from? Here in Anchorage, Anchorage, Alaska. Most of the races I've run are in Anchorage area, although my first marathon was actually Kenai, which is about a three hour drive south. Okay. Very cool. How was that, the drive, and then I'm sure you stayed over, right? Yeah, I stayed over the night before, and the drive was nice. September is usually a pretty good time of year. It's pretty because all the leaves are mostly yellow, and there's not really any snow most of the time. Okay. But the marathon itself, I assume that running, I'd run a little bit longer distances, maybe nine miles or so, and I got to the halfway point of the marathon, and I thought, this is going pretty well. I'm doing okay. And what I didn't realize is the halfway point of a marathon isn't 13 .1 miles, it's about 20 miles. So the second half did not feel like the first half, and I was a little surprised by that, but it went okay. I remember thinking that from my first marathon too, I'm like, it felt really bad, the second half, my very first time too, so I'm right there with you. Now have you run? It's definitely not the same distance. I ran that, and then I ran my first half 13 days after that. And I really didn't think I was going to come back to running after that. I took about six months off running. Yeah, that's a quick turnaround. Wow. Yeah, that was overkill. Wow. But I haven't learned my lesson really. So you are still running? Yeah, I came back to running the beginning of 2021 because it was COVID, and I was bored, and there was a free local running group over at Skinny Raven Sports, which is, they do a lot of the running events here, and I ended up meeting some people there that made really good friends, and they're pretty much my family up here now. So even if I wanted to stop running, I can't, because that's where all my friends

We've got Mitch Golding here for what is undoubtedly my favorite day of the year, and that is relaying the results of me picking all 272 games on the NFL calendar. I have Mitch here because he is the editor that actually has to fact check the most ridiculous thing on our content calendar. I don't think it's even close. And also to do all of the tiebreakers. So I should ask you first, Mitch, how are you feeling about all of this? I'm great. I love the NFL tiebreakers. This is me in my element. I wish I could just spend my entire year doing nothing but NFL tiebreakers. I think I'd be very good at the, you know, the basically Steve Kornacki after one of the recent election cycles, they just started letting him do it on Sunday Night Football. He comes on the pregame show and the halftime show. I could do that job. Now, I love Steve Kornacki, and so I'm not trying I'm not coming for his job and I'm not trying to say that he is bad at his job, but I think that's like a role for me that I could easily handle. Just put me on there talking about tiebreakers. Oh, I love it. But Connor, I have to ask you, is this really one of your favorite days of the year? Because that's a classic thing that you say now. Let's go behind the curtain. We are taping on Wednesday and this will be revealed Thursday. I know you. You will be a ball of stress. You will be getting requests for radio shows in cities where you said their team is going to go 5 and 12. You're going to have fans yelling at you. I think you're going to be a little bit stressed tomorrow. So just try to remember right now this feeling of how happy you claim to be and try to just keep that in mind tomorrow when when people start slinging their arrows at you. You're right, Mitch. I think that the day when, you know, all radio stations want to have you on to either praise your pick or be skeptical of your pick or fight your pick. I famously got into sort of a verbal fisticuffs with a Cincinnati radio host before the year that they went to the Super Bowl. I had them projected for four wins. And I think I said over and over on the air, find me more than four wins on that schedule. I think Joe Burrow did that and then some. He got him. And but since then, you know, come full circle and everybody in the playoffs alone, which is why if you're a loyal listener to the podcast, you know, I became a Bengals fan. So it's all good. It all. Yeah. Oh, we buried the lead. Connor, how was your first week as a Bengals fan? It was great. Although if anyone listened to the podcast last week, I was between the Bengals and the Ravens. And so my wife and I watched the Ravens commanders preseason game where the streak was broken. And I got I got kind of emotional. I mean, you can read what I wrote about it and but I thought this was a very big thing. And I was very standing on the table ish for John Harbaugh and the Ravens in that moment. But I had to get that out of the back of my head. They're division rivals. And just because I almost picked them doesn't mean that I can't root against them. And so full steam ahead. We're just waiting for news on Joe Burrow like everybody else. Mitch. Yeah, it's interesting. Now everything we read of yours will be through the lens of is he being a biased fan here or is he being objective? And I don't know. I don't know. We'll find out. At least now your biases are out in the open for for all to know. I think it's going to be a fun bit to just fully jump from. I just picked this team yesterday to where have you been? I'm a dyed in the wool Bengals fan. I love Skyline Chili. Have you ever had Skyline Chili? I have. I like Skyline Chili. I know it's controversial. I like it. I'm I'm I'm a supporter. What's your like what's your workup? Do you do the whole thing? I don't. I think so. So I have not had it in a long time. So I couldn't tell you the details, but I well, let me try to remember. I think it's like five ways. I like all this, all the stuff on it. It's possible that it has gotten more ridiculous since I've been there and they're putting on like absolutely crazy numbers of toppings just for Instagram or whatever. But last I remember it was the the spaghetti, the chili, the cheese, the onions. There might have been a fifth one. The sort of I feel like I went there for the first time, right before sort of it became a thing on the Internet that people liked to complain about or argue about or say was disgusting or whatever. And so I don't know, there may have been changes in the years since, but but whatever the classic like as of the year 2010 way is the way that I've had it with with all the stuff available to me in that time. Nice. I yacked in a Skyline bathroom once because I just couldn't. The mountains of cheese. I don't like cheese, but I had a friend order it for me. And so I think if I had to do it again, I would do the spaghetti, the chili and the onions and maybe that would be something I could maybe that be something I could stomach and walk away from. I'm not going to disparage Skyline chili because my roommate used to make a really good Skyline chili dip in college. So I think if I could bring that back somehow, I'm pro Skyline. There's nothing quite like it anyway. So no, no, no, no. Don't anyway. Me. I have more Skyline chili takes. Let me give you a pro podcast is brought to you by Skyline. By the way, I have had, I have been to a Skyline chili establishment and I have had it there in the restaurant. I also, I have been to one Cincinnati reds game at, I think it was called great American ballpark at the time and it has some other new stupid corporate name now, but I ordered it at the reds game and you know, at the restaurant it comes on a plate and you're right. It's piled high with all that cheese. At the baseball game, it came in like a plastic Tupperware kind of situation with a lid and they closed the lid so that you could walk with it to your seat and that process of closing the lid. It got so hot in there that all of the cheese melted and it was excellent that cause you're right. It's the, the cheese restaurant. It's like straight out of the bag, just like the, you know, cold shredded cheese where it's the little pieces, but, but uh, in the Tupperware melted all this hot gooey cheese all over everything else I thought was a, it was a great way to enjoy it. So I have no idea if it still comes like that. This could all be different. I think that was back in maybe 2007 so we're, we're talking about a long time ago, uh, me remembering this chili that I had, uh, but loved it at the ballpark with the melted cheese. It's still great American ballpark by the way. Oh, interesting. Which is a, which so great American is an insurance company. Uh, so it is a company name, however, it's just called the great, like if you called it the great American ballpark, I feel like that's solid. Um, that's going to go down a, uh, that's going to go down a rabbit hole, but all right, I'm glad we landed there at skyline chili. Obviously as big of a bangles fan as I am, I'm going to need to learn to stomach that. I'm going to find the way that I like it. If anybody listens to this podcast and lives in Cincinnati and wants to tell me how to enjoy without skyline cheese, please leave your rating in a review and your ideal skyline markup because then that way I can, uh, I can try to duplicate it when I'm out there trying to get some season tickets and uh, you know, did you hear from any bangles fans this week? I did. Um, I got, I got welcomed with open arms. I'm, I'm pretty excited about it. I do feel like this is the right time to get in. I feel like the super bowl year would have been a little rough.

A highlight from "So You Sue The People That Took You In When You Were Homeless ? Michael Oher Should Be Ashamed

"Welcome to another edition of Convo Over Cigars. I'm your host, Derrick Andre Philemon. Let's talk about a story that is gaining a lot of attention. It's gaining a lot of traction, and I can see why. You guys probably remember the movie from 2009. It was an Oscar -winning film. It was called The Blind Side. It was a great football movie. I like football movies. I remember, I think it was Goldie Hawn. She played in the movie Wild Cats. I always loved that movie. But this particular movie was really, really good, and it was based on, a true story. This was about a rich family who basically adopted a young African -American man who was basically going through it. He was a homeless teen who was kind of being shifted through the school system and stuff like that. They basically adopted this kid, and it seemed like a great storyline. And I was like, why now in 2023 is this happening? It seems like now we're going to have to go back to the early 2000s and early 2000s and early 2000s and early 2000s. So, back in 2009, a movie was released called The Blind Side. It was the autobiographical story of a young man by the name of Michael Orr, played by Quentin, is it Aaron? Orr was a homeless black teen who was basically, he had drifted in and out of the school system for years. Then Leanne Tuohy, take in this young African -American man. They become his legal guardians. His tremendous size and protective instincts make him a formidable force on the football field. That's kind of like a synopsis of the movie, what it was about. Also with the help of his new family and devoted tutor, he realizes his potential as a student and football player. Now fast forward to 2023, Orr, a former Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers tackle, alleged in a lawsuit that he never actually was adopted by the Tuohy family, not legally, as the blockbuster movie has basically shown. Orr claims he gave away the rights to his life story to 20th Century Fox back in 2007 without any payment whatsoever, and that he was missing profits from the John Lee Hancock 2009 film, which actually grows something like $309 million at the worldwide box office. And some are calling on actress Sandra Bullock, who portrayed Leanne Tuohy in the movie, which earned her an Academy Award to actually give back her Oscar. That's kind of a newer development in the story. So to be clear, Orr is saying that he was never legally adopted by this very affluent family, but they actually tricked him into a conservatorship and pocketed royalties from the book and the film, the movie, you know, affiliated with the movie Blind Side. This conservatorship, according to Sean Tuohy and his lawyer, Randy Fishman, was designed to make Orr a part of the family and also clear his path to Ole Miss University. Now, the NCAA would not have allowed him to be eligible immediately for the Rebels without it because the Tuohys were boosters of the program. Now, Michael Orr has claimed in court papers that the Tuohys tricked him into signing over his legal authority to use his name in business deals after he turned 18. The 37 -year -old claims they used their conservatorship to make millions in royalties from the 2009 film. The family's position is that Orr is basically trying to shake them down for about 15 million. He's basically trying to extort them out of money. That's what it looks like here. Why now? The timing is a little bit off. You wait until all these years later to basically say give me 15 million or I'm gonna basically throw dirt at your name. I don't know. It just seems to me that Michael Orr is in need of money and he's actually, this family did a great thing by adopting this kid and opening doors for him, obviously. And the thing that's really crazy about this story, the Tuohy family, these guys are extremely wealthy. They were wealthy before they adopted this young African -American kid. Very wealthy people and I'm not, I didn't necessarily look into their background, but they have tons of money. Multi -millionaire socialite type of people. So to come back all these years and basically say they use my likeness, my name to basically promote and endorse business deals and that kind of thing, I don't know if I'm buying it. I don't know if I'm buying it. I'm kind of waiting because I really don't know about this story. I've read so many different things. It could be true. Maybe they did swindle this kid. Maybe they did take advantage of his size and knowing that he would be a great athlete and you know, profit off of his name. I don't know. But my opinion, Michael Orr is just looking for a payday. That's my opinion. That's what I think. I'm going to basically be keeping an ear on these developments and we will do a part two on Convo Over Cigars. I'm your host, Derrick Andre Flemming. Everybody have a fantastic Saturday. Take care guys.

90's Nostalgia: Looking Back at Our Favorite TV Shows

"We're gonna talk about nostalgia. I feel like at first it was a big thing, especially like the past several years. Everybody was sampling 90s songs, streaming services, or bringing back 90s shows and everything that the people on Twitter, especially black Twitter was talking about. We need to see Sister Sister. We need to see this and that. The last several years, streaming services, they've been watching and they've been putting all the shows that we love on streaming services. What are some shows that you watched when you were younger that you see now? I definitely watched Sister Sister and I watched Dessa Raven. And I think right now, Dessa Raven, the new one. I think that actually is Raven's Home. I think that one actually is, I feel like a lot of 90s shows could actually, if they was released, all of them was released right now in what, 2023, that they would still really, really compete because the writing was very, very phenomenal. Right. Writing was on point. We touched in for, to be in the 90s and early 2000s, I think the writers, they're very more comedy, but they would still have to touch on very, very touchy subjects to the point that where they can actually do both. And I think nowadays it's more either it's serious or it's comedy. You can't really do both in it because a lot of people would just be like, well, I just don't laugh. If I wasn't serious, I'm more serious. Like, for example, I would say I went for animation. They're talking about real life. They're talking about the French Prince of Bel -Air. Yeah. Right. They, that was comedy. They also touched on really, really serious situations in the black community, but not even just the black community. I'm talking about like in another text bracket, like people problems. Back then they touched on it, but it was also comedy. Now it's just strictly, you know, I understand it. Like some people don't want all that, you know, convenient relief, you know, they want all this serious. And I understand that. It was like, but the 90s shows, I don't know. They just, they could do both and get the message across. And sometimes those episodes in like, oh, like, no, this episode was a message. Like, you know, they had the disclaimer at the end of that back in the, like, they have the whole cast at the end, like staring at the camera to make the whole disclaimer. You know that? Oh man.

Jackson, Ravens excited to move on after new contract

"After an unusually long contract saga between him and the Baltimore Ravens, Lamar Jackson was ready to move forward. That much seemed clear after the star quarterback fielded questions Thursday for the first time since agreeing to a 5 year $260 million deal. I'm not really right about what happened in the past. I'm going to keep it about these next 5 years. And keep it about what's going on today. The 26 year old in 2019 NFL MVP is reset to join Baltimore with a new top receiving target after the team's off season signing up former Pro Bowl whiteout Odell Beckham junior. I'm geffen coolbaugh.

I just got tired of that same old job count fighting that freeway Mark I bet you never thought I'd really go I never get as far as next a cold. John Robin has closed out a comfortable four shot victory at the masters to claim his second major title, adding the green jacket to his U.S. open crown became the fourth Spaniard to win at agusta, joining 70 by a sterile Jose Maria Osama and Sergio Garcia. Never thought I was going to cry by winning a golf tournament, but I got very close on that 18th hole. And a lot of it because of what it means to me and to Spanish golf. In the NHL, the Boston Bruins won 5 to three in Philadelphia to set a league record with their 63rd victory. Bruins goaltender, Jeremy swayman. It's hard to win in this league. There's a reason why this record's at 62, because not many teams can get there. So it's a special honor. The play in tournament pairings are set in the NBA in the east 7 seed Miami plays number 8 Atlanta. About number 9 Toronto meets number ten Chicago in the west, the Lakers are the 7th seed and they'll host number 8 Minnesota, LA forward LeBron James for us as good as we don't have to travel. We travel a lot the ladies. It's good that we get to stay here, but that doesn't make us be comfortable. The other Western Conference play in match up will feature number 9 New Orleans against number ten, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, head coach, Willie green knows what to expect from the thunder. You may not get as many shots as the scores are not going to be as higher. And we still have to attack, have tech mentality. On the diamond, the rays defeat Oakland 11 to nothing to improve their record to 9 and O pitcher drew Rasmussen. I think this organization has come to expect big things when it comes to the regular season and moving into the postseason. And so the start we're off to is unbelievable. "Just watched a pretty boring sheets Broncos game on a Sunday Night, but the day itself was pretty fun. And as usual, it had something in common with the last couple Sundays for me. I ended up losing money, but I don't want to start there. Let's start with the ravens steelers game, which was the weirdest game of the day. I don't know what was going on with Lamar Jackson. Roethlisberger was half decent in Romo is acting like he's, you know, Tom Brady against the falcons. You know, this is a big win for the Steelers. Ben looks great. He's like 236 yards, no picks. I guess means he's great. It all leads to the steroid scoring too soon. The ravens somehow coming back, they score a touchdown and then it's like, oh fuck it, they're gonna go for this. They're gonna do the two point and Lamar misses Andrews. They lose the game. Right call or wrong call. I think it's, I think it's the right call. I know a lot of people are gonna be like, you have Justin Tucker, you have the better offense. You have, you know, so what up the Steelers when the toss? You've been stopping them pretty well. Except for that last drive or two. But the past was there. I mean, it was almost there. It should have been there. That was a great, great play call, just not executed. Good move. Probably Harbaugh probably felt a, my brother, I got this. I got this juice. We have what's opposite of the Cuomo's right now, right? Going for us. I'm just gonna. It's a bizarro bizarro. I like it. The harbors. And it just didn't just barely didn't work. But it just goes to show you that it's insane how close those games are, regardless of how bad the quarterbacks are, how bad the offenses are and everything else, it's always a one point game. Those one those two play. I know, even the lines now. For all the games, does the matter if they're three anymore. Three is to be the demarcation line. Now it's not. I'm going the other way. I think the last 5 years with the analytics going into just be more and more aggressive and go for two points more and just like go, go, go. Let's do it. Be macho. Try to grab this game by the balls. And then on top of it like the culture that we're in now where it's like gambling gamma gambling, gambling is legal now in 18 states. We talked about gambling all the time at the ringer. You have an entire site devoted to gambling. And shut it down though. I might shut it down. I don't know. There's like a recklessness now because if I'm the ravens, I've won every close game I've been in this year, basically. I'm lights out, I've Tucker. I have Roethlisberger on the other end. Who hasn't thrown a pick yet, even though my I've touched like 8 of the passes that he started in this game. But I somehow haven't gotten the pick yet. And I just feel like I'm kind of built for these over time, go back and forth situations. And I didn't think Lamar was playing that well. Yeah, to me, that's like, yeah, on paper it makes sense to go for it. I get it. But I watch the entire game while I watch most of the game. I have a story about that later. I didn't think Lamar played that well. And you're putting the ball in his hands to win or lose the game. I think he would have won an overtime. He probably would have won it over time. I think there's decent points on both sides, but let's go back to what we always say. What do the opposing fans want at that point? I think if I'm the Steelers, I'm shitting when you see Tucker come on, Tucker come off. They call time out. They're screwing around with them a little. And then Lamar stays on the field. I don't know. I think both steelers fans would want to go to overtime too. Interesting because of the fear of the moment or because you know you think they're going to get it because I was looking at it like I was reading for the stairs because the past are now the number one seed in the AFC, which will last for another 1819 hours. They could lose the buffalo and drop to four. They will. Or 5. They will. Yeah, I think so. That's a snad remark. No, it's not. I'm just judging and we can go over this later, but just put the tone of our texts and everything. Way, way, way too fool yourself right now. Not overconfident. All right, we'll talk about that later. I was rooting for Pittsburgh. I wanted Baltimore to go for it because I thought if it went overtime, I thought I was game over. Because Tucker and overtime is the biggest weapon in the sport, right? You just have to get to like, what, the 40 45 yard line of the opposite side and you're in focal range. I don't know about that. There has gone all the way down. The stewards, it takes them ten quarters to score 20 points. 18, I don't know. I just would have mojo. I think hardball's like, hey, steelers suck. And my team wins close games no matter what, so why don't I just end it now? I don't know. A little arrogant. Go either way. Yeah, for sure. I'll tell you one thing. One magical thing that happened other than Roethlisberger at leaked out that this was probably his last season we could have guessed that. And then he had no K game. And it seemed like strangely emotional game because it was kind of the playoffs around the line for them, it felt like.

"Four yard. Drive eight plays made it fourteen and nothing. Halftime baltimore would lead in seventeen to six game firmly firmly in their control than midway through the third quarter mark andrews. One of the more underrated tight ends in the league called nine. Your td pass from jackson taking over seven minutes off the clock on the drive to make the score twenty four to six the way that ravens defense was playing. You knew that this game was over. Then devante freeman scored on a nine yard. Td run to begin the fourth to make the score thirty four to six garbage time. After that time for the announcers to bring out the jokes and stories and everything else to try to keep you occupied if you had red zone you said thank you. Jesus moved onto something else if you had direct tv at thank you buddha and moved on to something else and if you're not into football at all you said thank you very much. I don't believe in nothing. Let me just go on and do some gardening. Welcome to the meat of the mvp race. Through six games. Mr lombard jetson interesting. You know because again. It's six weeks into the season last season. Russell wilson was the clear cut favorite at this time but now moving on twelve months later. Lamar jackson entering his name in terms of consideration for the mvp not spectacular in turn to the statistics like it was on monday night. He didn't have to well account for ninety five percent of the offense on this date because of the complete game that the offense show with the ravens but nineteen twenty seven one sixty seven one touchdown to interceptions solid not spectacular at fine. Let's find the totality of the game itself. Didn't require for the mardi go straight super ban on everybody but when you go ahead you take a look at one of the reasons. Why one of the being reasons why baltimore's in the position that they're in right now is because of lamar jackson especially if you take a look at some of these skill players that he has the rash of injuries that have been hampered that really hampered the ravens when you speaking about the running back position. I mean i can only think of baby. The cleveland browns who have suffered more than the billeting injuries at the current pace right now than the in the ravens and we see how cleveland is falling off the map algorithm and the segment. But yeah we're speaking about baltimore being five and one. We're speaking about the mvp almost all the time. There's very little precedent for an mvp being on a team. This average below average or slightly above. And what the ravens are doing. Despite the weakness of the running back position getting guys alter street devante freeman. I mean the last time. I heard about him. He was with the atlanta falcons on bell. We heard about it. Nonsense and latavius murray far from being one of the elite running backs in the game. So when you take a look at what. Lamar has around them and then from the wide receiver position when his main target mark andrews. I mentioned before underrated but far from being one of the Far from being part of a dynamic duo from the pass catching receiving tied in Skill sets of those of a the baltimore ravens and those that they play against him. Chiefs vs. Chargers: Kansas City Defense Looking Weak Ahead of Sunday's Game

"All right folks will this next game that we've got Is going to be against our division rivals. The kansas talk Yeah so let's take a look at a couple of games for them. Their first game of the season was against the cleveland browns. That's who they played in the playoffs last year Let's see patrick. Mahomes put up over three hundred and thirty yards three touchdowns in that game Tyreek hill almost got two hundred yards. Goodness gracious On that game with a touchdown. And travis kelsey seventy six yards with two touchdowns so clearly we know who favor targets are guys from that game tyreek hill and travis kelsey They were pretty comparable as far as their stats go. Cleveland was able to put up a four hundred fifty seven yards. That's a big difference I think the big thing here is the rushing yards in this game in the next game. They they've put up very few rushing yards and they put up seventy two their week. One game against the browns. They put up sixty two week. Two against the ravens. So i'll and then the ravens put up to fifty and the browns put up one hundred fifty three so just looking at this and how close these games are this. Kansas city chiefs team is defense. Isn't what he was no. You can clearly see that. And i'm looking at these stance here. It looks like against baltimore. Game tyreek hill only got fourteen yards leagues. What happened here. So they've they've shut them down. While i think that's you know we put this in here to just show the fact that if we can lockdown kelsey and hill and just moderately. Stop the run. I think we're going to have a good chance and we just need to score touchdowns like you're gonna have to score thirty to beat these

"Some nba now so very interesting water cooler. Talk to send your way. Nba by the way starting just over a month already. We're talking kyrie irving is. She continues to work his way back from ankle surgery. This off season nikki reported this last night. Had a lot of people talking there are a handful of kyri traits that potentially makes sense for the nets kyrie's representatives have made it known that cairo would simply retire from the nba. If brooklyn were to trade him wealth kyrie read. This kyrie responded to this with this right there. An image a puppet. Then you responded with this kyrie if you're saying you didn't say you retire viewer traded. Then you're beef is with. Your representation is not with me because you and i both know. That's what they've told people. Nick busy nights on the old twitter for you. Take us through all of this. I mean so the the tweets really dum summit up to for the most part the fact that matters this there were a handful of teams that contacted the nets and take the temperature on whether or not any of the big three particularly career irving were available. Everyone knew that durant not available in hardens. Almost assuredly not available but since they acquired harden and because the net you know have a surplus of scoring and a surplus of ballhandling. There's thought kyrie might be available. And those teams were not told untouchable. No reason to call us back. It's like calling golden state for step. It will never happened. They were led to believe. Well i mean you know. We'll be irresponsible not to listen but now there is nothing to listen to because and this i know for an utter certainty no matter what gifts kyrie sends to me on twitter. Kyrie's people fold anyone that would listen trade for a metro own peril. If he were ever to be traded from brooklyn he would simply retire.

But that's not what we're talking about. Yes i agree. That's the one team has done it. And god bless bullied for them. Why people have it wrong. You've got to go score thirty five. Because the cleveland browns off correal yes sir. Yes a run for their money and guess what they took care of business against cleveland. Okay took care of tar beckham doesn't even if they had it didn't matter. Cleveland is number one. The bugs dropped the three disagree. Go ahead what would you do. Because i'm telling you right now. "Ravens over the Raiders. The Raiders are getting the ball back. They have no time outs, and they have 37 seconds to get into field goal range. So that means about 11 3 yard passes from Derek Carr, Mike and they are right at. Uh, sorry. See? No, but it's a new world order. I mean, he did push the ball downfield a little more frequently last year. Yeah, And certainly tonight. What? One thing we should note here. We hadn't yet just from a defensive side. You know, we talked about McCoy going off Cleveland Farrell, their first round pick a couple years back. Was a healthy scratch. So again, one of those battles between Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden. He was as he was. He was like maniacs. First pick, right? That was Mike. Max first. Exactly which I don't think Mike may hug me. Uh, maybe baby hot. Hey, Mike. So is he. Is he a jag? So is he just a jag jag because he can't even get on the field. Healthy dancer Jag. Oh, that would be a Herders. Healthy, damn scratches. He hit his ER Zia jag, Which is? Yeah, I don't know I do. I can't wait to go back and watch this a second time, though, with the Manning feed because they've had Travis Kelsey on there. They had Ray Lewis and now Russell Wilson's been predicting plays. Evidently, if you follow social media, so he's been calling all of these plays out based on their formation. He's been right better than Tony Romo on his accuracy. Those are just like he wasn't games. Uh, Twitter about a fresco Mike. It's swollen down the Jason Smith show with my best friend Mike Harmon. So the Raiders moving trying to get that field goal 21 seconds left to go. They have the ball near midfield for more on this and everything else going on in the wide world of sports. We have special delivery steam to Sager with what's training.

"Joins the Ravens and he's a vet. Latavius Murray v. Murray. Excuse me. He was a pro bowler in 2015. But when you're running back you pretty much age and in dog years 31 years old. Got a four year deal a couple of seasons ago. Actually in 2019 signed a four year deal. $14 million. And now he's just going to be a warm body. And a Ravens. I know one of our callers hit me last night. He's just like all the Ravens have to do is, you know, plug in anybody. All the Ravens have to do is, you know, stick anybody out there? This guy was undrafted and this guy's on drafted and this guy is second round it. There's a reason why they're pulling these dudes off the street. You don't hit the lottery. Every time out. And so right now, let's habeus Murray is joining the Baltimore rate. Want to deal up to $2 million He's good. He fits in Latavius is, you know he's not He's not some scatback. He's going to be out there looking to crack some skulls. He's gonna be out there. Trying to run up the middle. And that's exactly what the Ravens need. The biggest concern with the Baltimore Ravens. When I look at the squad It's Hey. Get Lamar some help. It's unfortunate that a lot of the help that they've gotten him this offseason Ain't good enough. That you can go ahead and drafted Rashad Bateman, who's dealing with a groin injury that you really got to rely on Sammy Watkins of all people to stay healthy. The offensive line. Okay, Let's see how they meant you got you got veteran names and Zettler and you stole Villanueva from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ronnie Stanley is on the left side. We know Orlando Brown is gone. But then you even took that hit on defense with Marcus Peters out. Any given season. You know, Marcus Peters is just going to You know Have what 5 to 10. I n t s. He's gonna snatch the ball out the air. They brought in just in Houston. The Ravens will be okay. But realistically I see the Ravens is has taken a step back. They already playing a competitive division. The Browns have continued to elevate their game. The Steelers are still the steel is they'll be good, but maybe not good enough. Should be a generally a three team fight. In the A F. C North. But the same way that we can look at the Dallas Cowboys and say, Ah, they should be good, but not good enough. That's the same thing with the Ravens. And unfortunately for Lamar Jackson, I feel like he's the dude who has to pay for all of this. Because we're going to hear I really believe. Just more common. Sorry that that puts him down. Someone who accomplished so much in so short a time in the NFL. Based I'm not ready to say that the Ravens, you know have failed him because the Ravens, I think the front office I think their their top But the fact that they haven't gotten him that that star walks. That you drafted a guy and then we got to wait for Bateman to come in and that the signing was Good. You're trying to help Lamar. Do you still want him to do more work? Unfortunately, at the end of the season, I don't see the Ravens winning a Super Bowl. They can make the playoffs. Yes. But somebody's got to pay at the end of the year. I don't care. Bateman comes back, and he ends up with 1000 yards and 10 touchdowns. Greg Roman. If this season is not a success, he's going to be the dude who gets the boot. Because the F C North is too competitive. The Cleveland Browns are not sneaking up on anybody. You know you're going to be in four fight there. The Steelers Regardless of how you feel about them, they're not going to lay down and just be some trash team. Everybody in the A F. C North probably just needs to look at the Bangles and say Let's just beat the living hell out of them. That might be everybody's best bet and trying to stay alive and win the A F. C north. Dammit! That will be the Ravens best bet and just trying to go out and make the playoffs. Unfortunately for them I think this is a year that.

"Thing you know you have to pass the ball against this frigging crazy defense. You know good luck not making a mistake. So that's that's their plan but if you get up on them and you make them have to come back you know neon saw all right. That's that's the game. There is easier game plan is it is a great matchup with the raiders like this is a great litmus test to see how the Like you look the dallas cowboys. They played last night right and they and they lost but they brought it to the champions like they look good doing it you know. Obviously there was mistakes on both sides and you say like there was a A you know a blown call at the end of may even the dallas cowboys should have won like basted in there right in and they showed like okay they they do belong like they're not the cowboys of last year. Yet you know so. And so at least they can go away from that game. Thinking like okay yeah. Our team showed something. I'm not. I'm not saying like there's gonna be a moral victory if the raiders loose but it's a great great litmus test regardless of the result to see like how the raiders stack up against one of the top flight. "Enough of bucks cowboys. Let's look ahead to week. One in mike as we look ahead to week one we actually look back at. What happened on thursday because it was another awful day for the baltimore ravens. That's big story heading into week. Watt is what the heck do you do now. If you're if you have any investment into the baltimore ravens how do you clean up if you drafted dobbins. How do you clean up if you drafted or picked up gus edwards after his knee injury. That's going cost them the season. How do you think play things. Play out in baltimore and even big picture. How do they affect lamar jackson. And a guy like mark. Andrey's well congratulations on mark andrews on getting the ink to dry on his contract. I joke that. I wonder if the facilities are managed by the chicago park district. Maybe a little inside baseball. But it goes into the bears wanting to go move to arlington heights at the side of the old arlington park racetrack of who else in charge of these things. In why are there so many activities or is it. Just you know you just got a bad case of something going on. Someone's not live in right. And you need kyrie irving the come in with the sagebrush to take all the bad user tyson williams. We talked about him last week. Was the guy that. I would have put some chips in on six foot tall to twenty bowling ball. Kind of guy that i think is going to get every shot to be the guy right now. it's kind of interesting in that early on thursday. Yeah we're gonna we're gonna ride the bus and it was all about gus edwards and then he goes down. Marcus peters goes down your already. Had all those injuries in the receiving core right bateman Go on down. The line justice hill at the. I mean you know just was wondering happen. Yeah it's it's just one of the and hill had been battling some other injuries. And then he gets the the final blow there. So you bring in levy on bell your bring in devante freeman and you bring in latavius. Murray lady i bel- couldn't stay on the field. Despite all of the defections injuries and other things happening again the city a year ago we talked about it. Daryl williams now damian williams because he opted out and he's always chicago but daryl williams was getting touches before lay on velez so i kinda disqualify him. That's a if you're bench is deep. Sure stash them and watch this week and see what happens. Likewise devante freeman if you need to go down that road. Because you had dobbins or gus edwards or insert otherwi- wide receiver a running back. That went down with injury. Fine i think latavius murray of those three guys is the most likely to come in and actually do something because we've actually seen him perform at a decent level most recently different.

"I want to see them up there. I want to see a great game. That's it, But this isn't just Lamar Jackson. This isn't Lamar. I mean, it's not like they're getting in a boxing ring. I used that analogy. It's not like they're gonna be fighting each other. But I would love love to see Ah, close game. It goes beyond Lamar. It goes towards the Ravens and their defense. Let's see what Josh Ah, Lincoln do And we know the Ravens in not a lot of depth that coming back when when they're behind. Let's see if that's different tomorrow night in the cold in Buffalo. Court says is calling up from Baltimore Court says you are CBS Sports Radio. What's on your mind? A. J. R. Of course, I'm going to pick the Ravens that put being a member of the flock. But that's not the only reason. Okay. Uh, I think the last time they played The bills putting on in the box against the Ravens. They were able to limit their run game think Lamar had like 40 yards. And, uh, Think the other I think Ingram has 50 yards. I think they were able to keep it down under 200 yards, but When they do that. Dudley's of the Bills have no answer for Mark Andrews a tight and they cannot cover tight ends. They haven't done it all year and then they'll get exposed. Because they'll have to commit to stop in the run game and leave Mark Andrews open all day. Don't have to be 20 yards down the field, but he'll kill you. What those 10 15 yard pops. Getting Jack yards. On Then I think that the bills will have to play catch up because they don't throw a lot. But I think that just school be something like 27 24 reasons. No close one. That would mean that we had a good game. So you also see Justin Tucker, you know, throwing one through the uprights time. Absolutely e think that's something that we That's not now we could always count on. "To use on a national radio show. Here's the crazy, Crazy Crazy thing. This weekend, so three teams. Get their first playoff victories in either. Nearly a decade or Nearly two decades or longer going back to the nineties. The table May Buccaneers Hadn't seen a playoff win since their Super Bowl. After the 02 season, So we're talking nearly 20 years. Browns and bills. It's been even longer. Not many people in Cleveland want to hear the name Bill Belichick. I get it. But that was the last time Cleveland had a playoff win. In fact, it wasn't even this franchise. It was the franchise now known as the Baltimore Ravens, though they Technically get to carry over their records. 1994 and for the Bills 95. The days of Jim Kelly and four consecutive Super Bowls. And this was a throwback weekend and it was awesome. I'm so happy for those of you who are fans of the Browns. The bills the Bucks. Yeah, We've still got some big dogs. We've got a fantastic Divisional weekend on tap. So we're back down to just four games coming up next Saturday and Sunday. Who he was, Ah, a lot of football this weekend. Let's be honest, and we still have Monday's national championship. So if you were like me, you got a whole lot of nothing done outside of watching football and, well, maybe didn't take notes. Maybe that was just me because I'm special. Here's your Your matchups for next Saturday and Sunday. We've got the Rams at the Packers to start things off Saturday afternoon, followed by Baltimore and Buffalo under the lights. Then on Sunday, it's Cleveland at the Super Bowl champion Kids a city chiefs. What, Just say it out Loud is amazing. "Well, you start with the Ravens. You gotta keep Derrick Henry, like they did in the first half out of the game. 10 attempts rushing attempts 18 yards long of six. Keep him out of the game. Keep that pressure on Ryan Tannehill to throw the ball consistently, which he did in the first quarter, but not the second. For the Titans. You gotta keep Lamar Jackson. You gotta keep him the running game bottled up. Yes, he had a 48 yard scramble. Well, for the most part, they found a really good job of taking away that running attack of the Baltimore Ravens. These are the top two rushing teams in the National Football League. But the Ravens to your point number one with over 3000 yards this year on the ground. It was the fourth most in NFL history after they set the NFL rock record last year with almost 3300 rushing yards as a team, and it's just so that's you know, I'm looking at Lamar Jackson. I just looked at his scramble you had for the touching up 48 yarder. It's just so unfair. Try to tackle guy like that in space as a defender, because I will be so frustrated because here run away from me, and then when you get close to him, he'll spin and turn around. And you he'll leave you like standing right there. It's fun for us to watch him, though. For the booze, second half ready. Here we go. The kickoff coming from us guys. Kowski down to the four yard line returned by Devin Duvernay across the 15 across the 20 and he's hit the drop at 24 Yard Line. By Westbrook Akina. It's the first kickoff we've actually had returned. That hasn't been a touchback. A return of 21 yards for Duvernay. So now Lamar Jackson Who turned 24 years of age on Thursday, comes back out onto the field to lead this Ravens offense on the passing attack wasn't here in the first in the first half, but he had that scramble, and that's what that's the difference. You You could do everything right? Is Mike great balls of defense coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. You could do everything right in the passing coverage, But you can't keep him in the pocket throughout the whole game is in the shotgun wipes his right hand off on the town dangling behind him. Fakes a handoff, throws it out to the right to Rikard catch at the 30 takes it across the 30 year, right at 35. I should say he shoved out He's got a first down gain of about 11 or 12. You don't usually see Patrick her card. Actually touched the football but the full back there with his temp catch of the season. Yeah, I mean, 70 sides. I think you're gonna touch it either because nobody was on the flat. I mean, I mean, there was nobody within 10 yards of him because they didn't know that he was gonna go out for a reception. But he's an excellent blocker. Also place of defense. Occasionally special teams of pro bowler for the second straight year for Patrick Card. On there. The gain of 11 picks up the first down Now, Jackson throwing it out to the left. He's finding Anderson tied in Andrew's his drag down shy of the 40 at around 39 Yard line. Call it a gain of five were now Greg Romans, starting to realize with the Tennessee Titans are doing. They're playing off coverage. They're stacking the box and he's saying Okay, if you're gonna play off covering the stack the box they're working. It's going through the ball in the flats. Get five yards 10 years on the beat snap. Officially, they give Andrews for their so second down and six Mark Jackson for big tackle. He's got grass stains all over the back of his jersey. Got some white chalk line. Thing is right, Armas. Well, here, he's gonna turn around fake the handoff now running on the left side. Got a little space first out 45 47 yard line. Or Lamar Jackson, first down Baltimore nine yard game and NASA's longest called run up tonight. I know he had that 48 yard scramble. But that was a called run for him. He held that and sneak came around the corner to make the block so they're starting to find their rhythm on the offense for the Baltimore Ravens worth playing the drive coming up, and it'll be from the Tennessee logo near midfield course. This field On its opening season way back in the 99 season. January 2000 Music City Miracle went Tennessee on that miraculous play beat Buffalo. Now, at first out, Jax is gonna run her to give this time he's going backwards and you already faked give to Dobbins try to run it up the middle, But Tennessee was not fooled. He should've gave that ball off to Dobbins if there is an option Cause they crashed down and crashing down means you should give that ball to your running back. Instead, it brings up second down 11 those other running backs by the way, Gus Edwards has had three carries for 17 yards. Albums. Five carries for 16 yards. Dobbins in the backfield here in tablets will get it running to the left side across the 50 spinning forward out corn eight yard game. Really Nice job by Jake Dobbins. After some contact, he was able to get it out for an eight yard pick up and that'll bring up third down and to now that was a better read by Lamar Jackson on the defensive and to the right side of the Tennessee Titans. He crashed down again and now you give the ball to Dobbins, and he gets on the edge of the defense. JK Dobbins, rookie out of Ohio State, who turned it on in the last six games of the season, finished with a bang 160 yards last week. But now he's replaced by Gus Edwards, who's standing behind Lamar Jackson, on a third down to Jackson turns fakes a handoff, and now he's gonna run it. He's got the first down 40 35 30 down the sideline being chased and he'll step out of bounds inside the red Zone. So there's the second longest run of the game for the bar, Jackson 22 yard pickup. And guess that the words comes out. He fakes the ball because that word but get Gus Edward comes out, and he's the lead blocker for Lamar Jackson. On that open up this sideline for him, and we already seen in the scramble how fast he is when he gets on the edges, and they say he stepped out of the 21. So they're gonna put the football just outside of the red zone. But Jackson now Tim carries 89 yards. Last year is M V P season over 1200 Yards issue 1005 here he's looking to throw fakes. The throw to the right throws back to the left going down to grab it at the 15 yard line. It is a catch by Ricard and he stopped right there at the 15 for a gain of six. I mean, great Roman in the coach is there for the Baltimore Ravens done a tremendous job game planning for the second half, Understanding what they're trying to do for the Tennessee Titans defense, and they're combating that quick passing games in running back on the edges to the right hand side about Ricardas. We mention only 10 touches all year, nine catches one run, and then he's got to catch is on this drive. Second down and four inside the red Zone here for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson from the left cash takes a shotgun step makes a hit off. He's gonna run it up the middle, and he's gonna get a short game two and that'll bring up third down and too A better job that time by the Tennessee Titans defense. They had one player crashing down inside for the dye play and one hanging outside for the run, and then Mark Jackson kept it, but they close that gap pretty quick. That third down defense that is spin so problematic for Tennessee this year, faces another third down Baltimore on third downs. Today. Five of eight Dobbin standing to the right of Lamar Jackson in the gun. Third down to Jackson rolls to the right short throw record catches it first out inside of 10 stutter, stepped out of the four yard line for a card three catches Hart this Dr 10 Yard gain. It's gonna be first and goal and his only touchdown of the year is a place very similar than that, where he catches him to the right flag..

"Ravens over to sense a Bangles. And certainly being was now set their sights coordinates the North Star. On next season. And It's going to be interesting over the next week or so to see what kind of Forward. Thinking changes they're gonna happen like with the coaches or players or which ones are already decided. You were just waiting until the end of the season to make the declaration. And as what happened, we had technical difficulties with the AJ green conversation. Why? Because it's just been indicative. Of the 2020 season to pandemic season. And you get a conversation. He talked to the media this week and extensively did Talked about a lot of things, but You know, it's just the way it happens in this pandemic era, so many things, but we'll take the Pittsburgh Steeler win in the pandemic area if we can get Conversation with a J but again Trading on Williams. Talked about his play. Sparingly but delivered Or carry 74 yards of 55 yard Carry today. Average 18 have yards a carry some by JP Ryan. I talked about earlier. Man. This guy runs hard. You better bring him down and bring him down for sure, because he will not stop the leg drive. He will not stop the leg drive. But you look at a lot of these different positions Season Cartage, Druse Druse sample. C J. You zombie, you know that they talked about the tide in room. What's going to happen there. C. J. You some, I thought was really moving himself in position to be one of the better tight ends in the NFL consistent, reliable. Hopefully comes back and good shape. Mason, Shrek Also playing well. But you look at every position And they're going to be questions answered. You finally been Nord. I don't know if he was hurt, or they just made the decision in terms of play calling. He did not get much activity today. Do you mind? Even I had three carries for seven yards. So what about His status with the team. You start looking at where this team is going in the direction the youth movement. He's got eight years in the league. He'll be going into his ninth season next year. I thought he played very well stepping in for Joe Mixon. But again, decisions have to be made. Alex Erickson. Mr. Reliable, Dependable. Why do you want me to do around tickles back. Wide receiver, part returner, emergency quarterback. I mean this guy every year. Yeah, He, uh, he's on the bubble. I'm just kind of laughing is everything everybody says Alex Eriksson's on the bubble. But Alex Eric said, delivers every year. And he always does. I think it's safe to say John Ross. Been on IR Just has not worked out for him. Unapologetically a fan of hiss. And Remember. Call him Red Zone Ross because he seemed it once they got down in the Red Zone area. I think he was six of nine and red zone targets or something like Just are productive number that you couldn't ignore. But They're just other things that just didn't mesh. And so that's another position going. So just, you know, grab.
