"Like that's sort of the issue is like doing stuff like that is cool in the moment and like assert your toughness, but the penguins won. And you're without Martian for the next 5, 6 games, probably 7. I mean, I don't even know. And it was in a garbage time stretch and a regular season game in February, right? It's not like there's like the luchi struck in over Ryan Miller or Martian using one of the sedans is like a punching bag in those things where it's just funny in that situation. It's an employee officer who's not going to like suspend him for that. But you look at just reading reading the room or just the situation of this team and the state of where they're at where you don't know if bergeron is going to be back. And again, yeah, they can kind of cruise through this stretch if you want to say that because they've got a pretty big gap between them and teams like Detroit and the islanders. But you also want this team to start feeling good about its game. And now you've got a situation where you're handing the keys over to swimming and Mark, you'd like to be for them to play better and at the very least if they're rolling through some of the ups and downs, at least getting wins along the way. It's one thing of like swimming is playing well and turns a corner, but it was still losing like two one game because your top lines, two thirds of it's out of commission. So I'm hoping that much, right? Like you still want to start feeling better about your game and now not just the fact that you're without your top two forwards on that top line, but now the whole rest of the domino effect is you've got guys a lot of order. We don't know whether it's Jack sneaker going to get called up is it Curtis our move to.

"Spends extra two months down in Providence, getting steady number one reps, and he's good to go next year. Sound like a pretty good idea. Pretty good plan. So as complicated as child as people make out the goalie situation as are the bruins walking that kind of tightrope, they make this move ten times out of ten again. If what the risk was, which wasn't a whole lot. Especially if it's going to be healthy and at that cost. I mean, again, if it was something like 3 million or three and a half or four, then that you can get into that. You knew this could have happened. But it's for league. What's the loss in this? I mean, you know, again, I don't see the horribleness of this. It's fine. As you said, low risk, high reward, and it was tiny risk, and it didn't work out. So be it. Speaking of things, it didn't work out. The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly just fired head coach Dominique ducharme. There goes that. That season continues to get better and better for them. That's terrific. Speaking of news that we're waiting on. And this will probably be like I think this podcast will be out and they will have already announced the suspension. They have not announced it yet. But Brad Marshall was offered in person hearing, which is like bad. Right? I mean, that's like, I guess. That's like if you are, if you get in trouble at school as a kid, and you have to either go to the principal's office or you get meet with a superintendent and your parents. That's okay. When the parents get called, then you are. Yeah. You are a real situation. So as people don't know, Martian punched jarry in the face, and then the ref was holding them back and he stuck his stick right in his chest. Right at the end of the game, where is the income? Garbage time, garbage happens. Damn it. Happen again. Whoops. Anyways, it feels like this is going to be over 5 games, right? I think so. I mean, it's not a guarantee that you're going to get 5 plus games of an in person hearing. But put two and two together, right? I mean, it's just a situation where the brooms are already. We're going to get into what another guy who's going to probably be over the next little while for the bruins, which at that point, Marshall was fully cognizant of the fact that Patrice bergeron exited that game, you need him out there. He's the next man up as your leader..

"Talked about this before with most of our arguments where it seems like there's two very passionate sides to it. There should be a common answer in the middle, which is you should just be happy that you had Tim Thomas and Tuco rask back to back for close to two decades in that as you're steadying presence. And now again, who knows, maybe we'll be looking at this in May and Omar constraint of locked in and streaming your goalie the future. That's great. But if not, you're in for a rude awakening as to what Lee average or even above average goaltending is because you've had a leak goaltending for almost two for almost two decades now. Has any other team had this level of gold? And the only thing I can think of is the lightning with Ben bishop and then Andrea vasilevsky, that's the closest I can think of. One quest is just right now. Yeah, that's true. That is true. It does not happen often, though. No, and that's the thing. And I mean like with two goalies where you get two back to back like legit starters and Thomas kind of just came out of that was totally out of left field. We always do this where you kind of compare to different Boston athletes and rask, I think is one of the greats. I know people are gonna think, oh, you never want anything. Well, there's a lot of bus and athletes who didn't want anything. And the closest I can think of. And maybe I'm wrong about this. Maybe people can kind of dispute me on this. And there's only one area they differ. But it was Pedro. Because Pedro was dominant, DOM manned in his prime, had the 2013 Grady little leaves of men and then what did I say? Did I say 2003? 2014? Did you I don't even know. I said a different year than it was. But 2003 little doesn't take him out. And then in 2004, he has the rough outing against the Yankees at the end of winning. And you have that whole thing. But he seemed like someone who, I guess they could be comparable. They were elite. They couldn't win for a little while. And again, rasters on the doorstep numerous times, or at least twice. So weird legacy. Do you have any guys that you would compare him to? And plenty of guys over the years that have been fantastic that haven't didn't win. I mean, he's not the tier of Ted Williams, Republicans didn't win shit. You want to talk about that? Everyone's went to one World Series and hit what like one 90 in it, 'cause it was under $200. I think it was, which the greatest of it couldn't live, couldn't hit out of a shift. But I got a lot, there's gonna be a lot of pissed off comments if I do that, but I don't know. So if you want to start going to the rest, of course, below. We'll go back to the 1940s and 50s. But I digress. I digress. Yeah. All the old commenters here that I believe couldn't hit out of a shift. It's like in the 50s when bob.

"And welcome to poke the bear episode 82. The old Trent Frederick. The tread Frederick beating that bag out of Brandon tanev episode. I am ski. That is Connor Ryan Connor, what is up? Evan. I'm okay. How are you doing? Okay, only okay. What's the, it's a slow news day. So we're really going to be scrapping the bottom of the barrel here to get you guys some content for tonight's episode. So just okay. Just okay. Yeah. Not a lot to talk about today. And what's funny is all these things came out mid game and like a second. In the second period, I was actually doing work for NCAA dot com. Actually, I was in charge. They put me in charge for the night, which is bananas. And I was just kind of taking a look at Twitter they're in the game, taking a little break, and I saw the rask news. And I said, oh boy, mid game. Not great. Mid game. Yeah, that is a quite the time for that news to drop. Now granted, I was reported by fluid ocean salad the athletic. It's not like he's like, oh, I'm gonna wait till the end of the game. That's just a good wait. But you know so we'll jump right into it because this was gonna take up the first portion of today's show. I'm not shocked by it, and I'll tell you why I'm not shocked by it. The reason I'm not shocked by it is because it felt like when he, when swimming got called up to back to Boston when they were out west. Didn't you have that feeling like something's a little off? Something's off here. Is that the same feeling you got? Yeah. More or less. Not that I thought retirement is going to be at the top of the list, but it's not something where even with just a nagging thing where you or you're shaking the rust off. I still thought going into it. We talked about on brune's beat about our predictions that was going to get maybe 5 starts over this next kind of stretch here. You end up being right. He will pray at 5 sides, right? But did not expect it to be, again, a red flag in terms of retirement, but definitely sometimes worth monitoring because something that did seem off even when swinging first got called up. Yeah, and that was the thing. And I think, you know, again, he's not spoken. The bruins haven't said much about this yet, casty kind of said he'll leave that up to rask. But in his, from rask's perspective you're to think he's 34. He was probably playing against in the gaming as the ducks or the jets. And afterwards he sort of started to feel that pain. And he was like, you know what? Maybe this isn't as good. Remember after the Philly game, it was I feel great. You know, I felt great out there. I think this was more of a, I tweet something. I don't feel great. Why am I doing this? I was retired. What is the point to this?.

"You know, to be a really good goal to be like that true number one that you're talking about, you've got to stop shotzi not supposed to stop you. You've got to steal some, you know, rob some goals. And that's actually one area where I think all Mark has not been great. If you look at his percentage on high danger chances, it's improved a little bit from a poor start. But it's still below average in the NHL. And that doesn't mean he's a blow average goalie. It just means in that one area he's not he's not doing a ton to save to take away great chances. But it's also to your point about meeting a number one that you can ride and potentially steal games against a better more talented team. That's also why it's worth giving rask this shot and seeing what you have there because I know some brands fans will never want to admit this, but he's the one goal in this group that has done that who has been a number one on.

"Takes like a binder full of papers and he's like, throwing them everywhere and stuff. But you noted this, I think, on Twitter or you know to this to me, I forget when you said this. But how many times was brought up between Providence in Boston? Back in the ten times ten times 7 and O 9. Yeah. Ten times. So that's the thing. This isn't gonna hurt his development. It might actually help it because he's going down to province so he's gonna play consistently. He doesn't even play consistently up here. What do you think of this whole swim and stuff? I mean, like, again, if you want to sum it up, yes, it's an unfortunate situation because, you know, swimming, all things considered, can you work on his game down provenance? Yes, of course. We'll make the most of his top his number one reps in Providence. Yes. All I can consider is still unfortunate for a guy that even as a younger player has shown very good returns. I still think he has exceeded I think everyone's expectations in terms of not really having, even though he's had rebound issues. He's had a few tough games. It's not like it's been a snowballing issue for him up in the NHL. He's going to be a very promising player. So what stinks for him, right? Like obviously this is a very unique situation when the rats coming back. And net as well. What are you going to do about it? But the notion that sending him down is now going to torpedo his confidence and he's going to request a trade. That sent him into some soft ass thinking. I think when you just look at just the grand scheme of things, is it unfortunate? Yeah, of course, but one they've mapped it out. You know, back in October, September pretty much for these guys. And again, it's one thing to hear that in October and then another thing to actually get sent down to Providence in January. But you look at swimming's whole trajectory right now like how many guys unless you are like the chosen one of a prime like netminding prospect. How often do you just go right up to the NHL as a true rookie and kind of just stay there? Like permanently. It doesn't happen all that much. It seems like Spencer nights doing that. Yeah. That's about it. The only one. Pretty much, right? And that's another situation we're also like it was forced because we're first two years was dog shit for Florida too. That wasn't that, right? Lands up here because also don't forget rask. Had hit surgery. He was out for the whole year, and you know if he was even going to come back. So if you're swimming, I just look at like you project the road to the NHL that so many of these goalies face. And again, we'll use rask as exhibit a ten times back and forth between Boston and Providence over a two year span..

"It's kind of not blown up in their face, but it's not gone according to plan, right in terms of now you've got two guys playing league average hockey. And now you have rats coming into more or less try to Bill you out. Now you've got to kind of pick up the pieces and put them where they may. They have a stolen game yet. I think that's the biggest thing. I have not looked at a game, they've won yet, but that's because the goaltending. That is because their goal attending one of that game. There has not been that game yet. And again, just like the other night, you know the struggling to score goals. All Mark huts and what two goals on 16 shots? Not great. Not great. So yeah, no, they need rask back. I think that's pretty undisputable. And I think he will be back. It just comes down to what the money will be. I mean, maybe it would be veterans minimum, like that might be it, but I'd have to think it would be a little more considering he's probably gonna be your starter. Yeah. So I don't know why he would have had to be something prorated, but also like I mean, rask is said before in WE. I'll be a cheap goalie to play for chief. Doesn't matter to me, but also like, all right, does that mean you're signing a vet minimum or are you signing $2 million or something like that? I still think he's gonna be below what he was paid before, but I think you have to look at rask and be realistic in terms of the leverage you now have of like, oh, like you guys need me? All right, I don't think he's gonna put them over the coals, the bruins, but still, I think he's do more than just like a vet minimum deal. So how that impacts how you're juggling the cap or maybe that's why brass is more of a cap dumping move..

"You know, if they get to that point and swim in is kicking ass and Omar kicking ass, I don't know how you just say, all right, well, swan you run it down to Providence, you know? You're gonna go to plenty of HL. I don't know how that works. I don't. I don't. And again, even if rask is fresh, if those two roles are hot, they're hot. So that's something that we can't unpack. Now there's no right take right now on that situation. That was not something we will be able to accurately assess until the season gets going. We see how the goalies are playing. And again, I think if Omar or swayman starts to falter at any point, I think you're going to see every beat writer writing the story of when is rask ready to come back and when can they have that signed immediately? But it doesn't point to Omar, so I'm struggling. But we will see. We will see. Joseph lapa asked about the game of music. He said, when the game of musical chair stops, pretty quickly the centers from two C to four C already did answer that earlier. Ethan lacrosse has a good question. Who do you think will have a breakout year on both the main and the AHL roster? This year. To me, I think Charlie Coyle's a good pick for a breakout candidate on this Russia. I don't know if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking for a younger guy, it doesn't feel. I mean, maybe Trent Frederick scores some more. Maybe. I don't know. To me, it's Charlie Coyle. You know, he's elevated. He's, you know, he is someone who now has a much bigger role he's with better linemates. You know, there's not really anyone to take his job. I know he said on videos to earn it and all that stuff and I get it. Obviously, you're not going to come out Charlie Coleman come up and be like, oh yeah, I get all the second line center on the air David. No, but at the same time, I do think a guy like Coyle is set for breakout year coming back from injury, healthy, better line mates, you know, kind of a better job, a little more job security. Yeah. You know, in need of a bounce back year. So yeah, I do think he'll be the quote unquote breakout guy that you'll see another guy's Derek forbert, you know, does he 3 million is a lot for him right now? Does he live up to that? You know, I think if you want him to live up to it, he needs to be a really steady shutdown presence on that back end, who you can consistently put up against other teams top lines and have him shut them down..

"But you know, there's so many things that are in play for it. So I think for the bruins though, it's a good problem to have right now in that for, you know, it's a situation that 90% of the NHL is probably envious of, right? Because of the way they're going to situation. And it's like, oh, you had to twist my arm now. I do we sign two giraffes like the guy who's one of for cheap, or do we keep these two guys who look like the future of our organization in that? It's a good problem to have. One thing we're asking continuously stressed also is wanting to help out the younger guys. That's something you said Wednesday again was helping out Jeremy Swann and helping out different goalies, helping out the younger goalies in all marketing would fall under that as well. And I wonder if it's also kind of we come on as sort of a coaching role. You know, as well as playing obviously, I'm not saying he's like an actual coach. But his mentor to those guys. And yeah, I don't know. And this is something I think that we're not going to know the answer to until the season happens. And until we see how swimming and Mark are playing. I mean, again, if it comes down to December, it Omar is not playing wells servants playing really well. You know that you know what's probably going to happen, rascals kind of step in for all Mark. But if they're both playing well, then you have a decision to make. And that's going to be tough because you know that they'll end up playing really, really, really well. And then somehow in March, they'll both kind of like fall off after they don't sign ask. So that will be something to watch. Let's say it's a safe bet to bet that rask might be back. But there is a safer bet in town. And that's our good friends over at bed online. Absolutely Evan. Listen up guys. It's an exciting time of the year around the sports world. The Red Sox are playing kind of they still kind of suck. Patriots training camp is here and soon, the bruins and Celtics will be back. "We're here with Connor. Ian Connor, what is up? Evan doing well? How you doing? I'm doing well. How's the off season? Treating you? When we took like four or five six days into it, I don't even know what this point but I know we're in the off-season. Yeah, we're not officially in the offseason until you get bike paths, like the the zoom calls and what have you. So like we had we had the marriage On on on Friday which was 4 hours and 20 minutes. Yes, not too bad, but but once you get past those, obviously later on this week, we're talking to Swedish nearly then we can hit the full offseason mode, but obviously, whole bunch of digest from what happened last week and what's what I think as as expected is going to be a pretty good pretty pivotal offseason for this team. A lot of changes probably on the horizon. Yeah, there's going to be a lot this offseason and yeah, Friday was nuts. 8 a.m. to like 12:30, I just kept going, just person after person and when you thought that they were done, there was another person to go and you're like, oh, I forgot about this person guarded that because at the end I was like, oh, it's just Jake debrusk left to go and then they're like oh we got Mike Riley up next. I'm like that's right. He's on the team as well and I didn't even talk to her lock and you know, know Frederick and notoriety. So there was there was just a lot of people person after person after person, but there was a lot to take off. A from it. But I want to start here because again, you mentioned it, pivotal off season for the Bruins. And I think, in this this hit me after Rask's exit interview, when he said that, he had a dog in labor, met, his hip played through it. Needs surgery, won't be back until January and February, obviously, Rask is a UFA and it hit me. And I said, even if he comes back, he ain't home. Until the second half of the Year, you still have to find people to play from October through December and who knows. You know, swimming could be playing great, whoever they put in, that could be playing great and off this just became a whole lot more complicated in that because not only is it do the Bruins bring back Rask. It is. Also how do you finagle that with his injury timeline? And now it has become that much more complicated and there's lots of things that they can do, right? There's there's, there's free agent goaltenders out there. There's Devan dubnyk, there's James Reimer. There's, you know, there's Phillip grubauer with the Avalanche but he'll, you know, sign out there. I'm certainly forgetting a bunch of different free agent goalies, including obviously, Rask Catholic, as well, lock is up as well. Give us to him too. So you have this issue in that where you know who's starting day one may not rest, you know, Rask will not be back and you know do you trust it to be swimming? Invalid are for three months. I don't know. I don't know if that's the route to take. What, what should they do? Yeah. It's it's going to be a tough call for the Bruins in terms of how they approach that cuz it's a tough Balancing Act, Right. Ideally, you know what you'd like is you suck Ur ass back for a year or two years would have you on a much cheaper contract, which works out well for the Bruins. Right? What's a rat's was healthy..

"Guy you're going to love the feds great, Puck mover, but I do think that with with swimming in that, you know, but but again, it comes down to Rask's Health, you know, for the last month-and-a-half now rest seems to be healthy, but the last month and half Rask missed all that time. And even again, there was a moment in a recent game who was against, but they dumped the puck in and Roscoe's to get any knocks it down off the glass behind the net and comes back and he's holding his back. And it's like I think there is a concern there that that's going to continue and that's going to pop up and that's why you're going to see more swimming and I think that's the way it is. Absolutely valid to watch women to be tobacco. I don't think that that is like, oh God wrestling. Like I think one thing if if someone said who do you want in a playoff series swimming or lock, it would be swimming because, you know that he'll actually give you don't have locks to the million percent, a mediocre goal, you just make some really big saves, but he's going to let in some real soft ones and I like a lot going on, I guess, like I'm just saying, like I think there's so much more upside down. Play me, that's why I think, ultimately, this offseason. I would expect them to let halak walk and to just have swimming as to back up for next year and hopefully get Rask on a one or two-year deal. Do you think that's what I, that's what I would want to do and you're right man. Like I, you can't trust the back thing with Tuukka Rask. So you should have those guys as the guy's name that should be the, that's the one too and going forward. Absolutely. Ideally, I talked about this with a few people last Mount know, since women became a thing on a daily, you sign Rask for two years at between four and half and five million dollars a year..

Sabres Trade Hall to the Bruins for an Underwhelming Return
"Stumps were never super high on Taylor home after a few years in the league which is a viewer Observer thought was crazy but eventually you can't you just can't deny the fact. Again you can disagree with with teams and GM's not thinking that highly of Taylor Hall, but the proof is in the pudding every time he gets moved. So he gets moved for Adam Larson and that's a terrible trade anyway. But but yep. And so everyone's like wow, he got moved for that. Little, when he gets moved to Arizona, it's like, wow, was I forget was, was there not a like, he was a conditional first-round pick up, right? I believe it was right, but so you you're thinking, okay, it's going to be a ton of stuff and it really wasn't a huge huge deal. Then he becomes a free agent and obviously it's in the pandemic and he signs a 1.8 million dollar deal with the Sabres and I you I'm sure everybody is like Bruins what are you doing site? He's one year and eight million dollars to play for the freaking Sabres. Top that everybody should be trying to top it but they weren't then he gets moved at this deadline and Elliott Friedman comes out right after and he said he said since that Paul had to do with it with wanting to go to the Bruins and having to know move, but he's like the interest in Taylor Hall. Just wasn't as high as people thought it was going to be. Again you can disagree with them. But every time he moves, we all say, why is everyone so stupid? Why is that one? Giving up more for this guy but it's happening teams don't like Taylor Hall as much as we do,

I don't I don't think that's a 37 37 on the Bruins. Mm. Can't think of one's escaping me at the moment. Yeah sister go back. We'll take it to Twitter and see if people can can help us out there. We'll see if people can think of a of a name but for now, oh Bruce borchardt might be one that might be the guy maybe I don't know maybe 36 or 66 know you're thinking of Marcus Smart. We had this conversation. Yeah, so that's right. That's right. It's all kind of Cloudy. Well, we'll Circle back we'll figure we'll figure out who a good number 37 for this but at any rate off, I'm in Marion off ski alongside conried a Boston Sports channel Connor how we doing? I'm doing very well. How you doing? Good. It was nice to see the Bruins, you know when it was when a game. Yeah before 2 in the third. The Devils I'm thinking I got every time I think the steam can't get lower they do but they didn't they pulled themselves out of it. They Charlie McAvoy Matt grzelcyk just went on an absolute tear at the end zone, but that game was now Tuesday night people will be listened to this on Thursdays. That'll be old news. And so he never really talked about games. We don't what's the what would you why would you talk about a game when it's pretty much like over and done with the next day. So I'm considering the schedule is also like every other day now until the end of time we've have a game so that stuff gets lost in the shuffle very quickly. It's so weird to have nights where there's no games since I'm like, oh, what am I going to do tonight? There's no Bruce Lee. Yeah. We're not going to sleep. I go to bed at a normal time. New Insights on the Bruins' Disappointing Week
"A great way for Bruins not a great week. I know they ended it on our early started next week Sunday. They started to walk on a good note, but not ending particularly. Well, there are a lot of problems. What was the biggest to you? Well, I mean, obviously the the one where you look at just the Optics of it right is the defense, right? I mean you give up 13 goals in two games. I think everyone get concerned about that and I think that's wrong. You see the right flag is you know, you're seeing way too many transition goals created chances in front of Rask and a lot, but the thing is is that that's always a concern. Oh shit. Like when you go that many goals. I'm sure not to spend learning but also, I mean I look at it right where I think we all are in agreement of the rooms and needs more depth on the blue. Looks like we've talked about at home last week. Like that's a guy they need right? So this isn't any surprise and when you missing three starters on your blue line, you know, including two guys in lausanne and Thursdays are good at kind of showing up that net front and girls like ew, you know as much as I think people are now the critics been hurt. I feel like there's like the The Narrative of like, oh they can they they can do well without them, you know, he's an injury-prone. Even though it's really only been kind of this year. We're didn't really really bad. But you know you miss Chris leak in his ability to get the puck out and you know, get the brake outgoing and hit those first passes cuz off these games have been stuck in their own Zone with for checking issues. So but you look at that defense, right you miss those three guys, you have back and iron in a top pairing roll and you know, yes potential. I mean we've seen multiple times we're out of something. He's big enough yet to handle some of these guys and he's been just kind of Knocked around by Chris Kreider which led to a goal. He got knocked around by Andrews Lee and pushed around which led to Chicago gets the island is so I mean you go to depleted decor and you know, you got drawn more playing like the minutes and he did not look very good. The last two games so wage. Obviously, you're shorthanded you hopefully you hope that a shorthand unit doesn't give up 13 goals, but still it's not expected. But you had to know that there was going to be some issues with your going to be giving birth. One more chance has given how the state of your Decor is. Now.

Video stirs emotions on Trump trial's first day
"This day was entirely focused on the constitutionality of whether or not this trial should even be taking place. The president's lawyers arguing because he's a former president. This trial should not exist. It's unconstitutional the democratic house. Managers prosecuting the case in the senate. Say that's an absurd argument because that would all of a sudden right were jamie raskin. The lead house manager called a january exception into the constitution. He said that's impossible to imagine that the framers intended that way that a president must uphold his oath of office and commit to it from the very first day all the way to the very last day of his presidency. Not some january exception where they can act radically illegally against the constitution in some way and escape any kind of accountability for it that was at the heart of what was going on today but there was also the emotional experience that the house managers put front and center in a compelling video looking at what happened at the capital on that day january sixth and interspersing it in a time line with what was going on inside the senate chamber inside the house chamber as donald trump was inciting his followers at a rally to go storm the capital you see in this compelling video that they put together the connection between donald trump was saying and what was occurring at the capitol and went this insurrection sort of broke through the barriers at the capital. This is the direct line that house managers are trying to present to the senators and it was to shock and awaken the conscience of all the senators in the room to remind them of what they all lived through on january sixth. Here's house manager. Joe goose like everyone of you. I was in the capital on january. Sixth i was the floor with lead manager. Rask like you. I was evacuated as this violent mob stormed the capital's gates what you experienced that day. What we experienced that day. What our country experienced. That day is the framers. But yeah, so I don't think the goal-tending crop is anything crazy for the free agents. Maybe it is and I just haven't seen again people are using the cars right now, but I don't think nothing is beating Rask. Nothing is better than Rask and I don't expect us to ask for more than what he's getting now just cuz he knows he wants to stay here. Which yeah, there's not a great thing for everybody cuz everyone's set that as not a ruin any more but I that's the one bad thing. Yeah. But at any rate, we covered everything we had to cover actually lets it one more thing before before we finish here. I was going to do a separate video on this for the YouTube channel, but wage As well hit on it here cuz I think Bruins fans are kind of curious about this handle handle obviously is going through some tough times Florida management almost didn't the Iron Man suit was broken and then they were like now you're going to play these scores a goal, of course great, but obviously, you know, everyone connects key piano right back to Boston and rightfully, so it's from Milton. So am a local guy should the Bruins go for him. I think we both have the same answer on this or well kind of but should they go for him not I don't think so. I am in love with this game. "The goal is Tuukka Rask. Jaroslav. Halak people are probably in the car listening like it took them this time Dimension how good they were but it's kind of expected it. I know one was like surprised by any of this Rask I think you know is the more encouraging one considering, you know, he's the starter pack and what it's funny when I was watching the games this weekend and I saw Matt Kalman right this, you know, the Bruins now have to sign Rask and I agree. I think they they have to re-sign rest. I think the number one reason you do wage is swimming invalid are already. Yeah, they're not and so like Rask has to come back Rask actually has to come back because you know, you can have signal. The day, you know, a lot of people say well, you know, Jordan binnington took it into the shop and it's under job and took a team to the cop and you know, all these Fringe starters young guys guys out of nowhere taking teams to come home. That's all well and good but the probability of that that you're going to hit on the guy who gets hot is so small. Why not stick with the probability of the guy who was Elite and has bought a good track record of going to The Cup Final. Yeah. I think that's also the thing is consistency like I mean, yeah Jordan help them when it caught but also what happened the next year we should his pants against Vancouver and how's it going off or getting actually lit up so and crew got all those defensive draws. Yeah. Yeah, we can talk about that another time. I guess once we have a longer sample size, but like Craig berube's am putting like Krug and you know only 20% ozone faceoffs just negligence on knowing what the players good at. Like, that's like, what are you doing? Idiot? Like why why you putting him in a dog? Like that where listen we we all love touring crew game, but we also I think the Bruins are well aware of how you can best make do with his his abilities and account for some of them is in his game if Craig Berube just having him on the PK everything him doing these own drawers like you get what's coming to you if you think that was the expectation going into it. So anyway, that's right. That's my thoughts with the blues and Jordans in each sucks. Yeah, you know, I think it makes so much sense for the Bruins and it's just you map out just they're they're planning net and it's just you know, swimming of the Dodgers aren't ready yet and as much as both those guys should hopefully be in a spot where they can get some reps down in Providence. Let's be frank like it's a 20-game 20-plus game a season. They're not going to get the workload that they both need. Especially Galax women to all sudden be ready for training camp next year to make a push for the NHL roster, right? That'd be pretty cool job. Not going to happen like Jeremy swimming's a fantastic goalie Prospect but 20 20 games in NHL which prize is going to end up being what 10:15 for him all in considered so I can be enough to make adjustments up to the pro ranks because we've seen plenty of goalies come from college who looks fantastic and then they just kind of don't really can't adjust to it not saying swimming's in that boat, but you need to see what these guys do in the Pro level before just dropping them in the NHL exactly. Same McIntyre. The number will actually name I thought of there but yeah, I think Rask has been great, but I don't think that's going to be a issue at all. And that's that's one thing that I think Bruins fans have become so comfortable.

Could this offseason be pivotal for Don Sweeney?
"Could be like if we want to go there this could be the second most pivotal offseason. Don Sweeney's tenure is Jim Morrison would be I mean, yeah, we obviously know what the the first one was some hits some misses I'll defend on Thursday and say people forget the meal music trade was was very solid but should it be his want this could be kind of the offseason wear off he shakes it up and there's been there's been little shit shaking in the Don Sweeney tenure really other than that 2015 offseason where he kind of came in and moved Hamilton moved Lucic got the Draft Picks 6 in the first two rounds. We all know the story there but dead. This could be like the next kind of version of that obviously not as big but like if you look at where the Bruins are, I mean what happens with Krug? What happens with Chara those to move up itself are pretty franchised altering. And then from there there's obviously been the the Rask rumors. I I wouldn't be surprised if something happened with Rask because we we should never be surprised by anything that happens with Rask anymore. And this point that's the case. This was like a weird enough year and obviously with it happened in the the postseason like There's so much uncertainty surrounding that player that that nothing that happens with him with surprise me. So yeah between Krug we think departing who knows what happens with Chara. I think the flu tone made a really great point that was sort of an obvious point that we've all been kind of sleeping on like it is possible that Chara reaches free agency and who knows if the Bruins have or anything with him maybe a team jumps in and they're like, hey, man, you're the missing piece like this is your what what we need and maybe yeah, maybe he just maybe he departs so possibilities are plentiful and I haven't even gotten to the Do they make like a real hockey trade? Do they trade Jake debrusk? They trade Brandon Carlo. My pie-in-the-sky thing that will never happen is like they find a way to make Carlos the centerpiece of a Patrick line a deal which financially and for other reasons just does not seem like something they would do but oh my God, I have been banging the table to get more scores on this team and if they found a way even if it's losing Carlo in an offseason where you also lose Krug, like imagine if I thought they had Patrick lyonnet David pastrnak and like imagine having three of the best goal scorers in the planet on your team

"So to start I wanNA talk about exact sciences ticker symbol e x a s, and they are now trading at around twelve billion dollar market cap, and what they announced is liquid biopsy testing data in six different cancer types showing a sensitivity of eighty six percent and a specificity of ninety five percent, and they did kind of a grab bag of cancer types. We have lung ovarian, liver pancreatic, and Alpha Jill. And so I did video on exact sciences quite a while ago I thought their evaluation was a little bit toppy back then and was waiting for dipped to buy, and that's what I did during the Cova crisis I took a small position and then I sold just recently at around ninety four and I think is trading just over one hundred dollars right now but this. Is Nice to see them kind of moving into new areas because I think one of the things that they're struggling with is leaning on their old testing kit the colours guard while all these other companies are trying to get into things like liquid biopsy, which it's going to be a real game changer in the space. Once these treatments get validated and approved by the FDA. Now. They're not alone doing this exact sciences is kind of just finally getting into this because other big players like alumina through grail they just acquired this private company called grail officially officially. We've garden health personalisation of been floating around and invitations. Well, who just acquired archer DSL there's a lot of companies in the space, but exact scientists has shown some pretty good success in their previous testing kits. So it just makes sense them to jump into this new area and be a good competitor. So I think right now probably a little bit toppy with the price around one hundred but I'm pretty pleased with the small profit. I made given the number shares that I have. So that's exact sciences. Want to move now into regeneration ticker symbol. And they're trading at a sixty billion dollar market CAP. I did a video on them also a few months ago, looking at kind of their staples in terms of the different products that they offer and I concluded that they were relatively over-valued back. Then I think now also a little bit overvalued, but it does depend on how well their product. So and the kind of revenue they can bring in obviously but the news that we heard is that they released data on their antibody cocktail for covid nineteen. and. What we saw is that it reduced viral loads and symptoms versus placebo in non. Patients who are infected with SARS co to and what they shared our results from initial cohort of two hundred and seventy five patients, and they also have nine hundred or more patients enrolled. So this is kind of a preliminary analysis that they're showing US and they've called it a phase one, two, three trials. So they're doing the PK the safety along with the efficacy and other sorts of secondary outcomes all at once and when I look through their stuff, they started off by kind of categorizing patients based. On Sarah Negative or zero positive and I, think it's important that they do this because we're looking at a treatment for covid nineteen and if people are already sero-positive in their bodies, already mounted an antibody response in order to bring down viral loads. So what regeneration is trying to pose here is that the negative patients which means they have not mount that antibody response have significantly higher viral load and they make a better target for most treatments probably also their antibody cocktail that they're gonNA share data with. So. Then the data that they show here shows a range of efficacy based off of viral load. So we have tended the power of four copies, parallel all the way to tend to the seven copies personnel. So quite a big range in viral load here and I just blew this up on the screen. What we're seeing is that at the higher viral load, the treatment and there two different doses here in the green and the red line, we see that much more dramatic decrease in the amount of viral load in. These patients and it does kind of make sense because if your body's already mounted an antibody response, the window of efficacy is just going to be a bit smaller than if it's before the at which your body's manning response. So I think for these patients, it's definitely positive data. They also looked at other other metrics as well and I'm not going to get into everything but they did look at a day to alleviation of symptoms and they looked at the overall population of patients. It's the difference of nine with Placebo. To between six and eight, depending on the dose that they gave the antibody cocktail with the negative group alone, the placebo was thirteen days and then the low and high dose was six and eight respectively. So obviously a big difference when it comes to whether or not the patient is zero negative or positive. So that's probably going to inform the FDA when it comes to approving the drug or giving some kind of guidance on which patients should take the drug and who are likely to see more positive outcomes from that. So overall. I think it's good. It gets a step ahead of the Gilead data where I don't think we've even seen a placebo group yet. So it's nice to see regenerate actually do this placebo controlled trial. We can see whether or not there is efficacy and I, look forward to seeing the rest of the data I'm not if this merits taking a position regenerate here given that they're such a large company already and they have so many different assets that are I would say more likely to contribute to their bottom line. This doesn't entice me to take a position, but it's nice to see that we're getting all these therapies are starting to see vaccine data, and this just makes me feel better in general that we're going to move towards being able to treat this disease and hopefully get out from under this and then Kinda recover with the economy. With that, let's talk about the main story for today, and that is morality Therapeutics Ticker Symbol M rt ex, and they're trading at a price of one sixty, two point zero five per share giving them a market cap of seven point two, billion dollars. Their Q. Two, twenty, twenty, net loss was eighty, three, million dollars, and this represents an eighty percent increase year over year there their q two net current cash is six, hundred million dollars giving them a runway of about until twenty twenty two I would say but let's also be careful that if they see positive data. This year or next year is a good chance that they're going to raise again. And what Morad is trying to do is develop targeted cancer treatments and they're specifically looking at solid tumors and even more specific than that are K. Rasa inhibitors, and so they have to compounds Marta six, eight, four, nine, and x, one, three, three. They're also looking at checkpoint inhibitor resistance with their compound sicher Vance it, and I'll talk about that in a bit later. To start though we gotta talk about chaos and the reason why this is so important is that chaos mutations are present in a large population of cancer patients. The first thing it's important to note is that chaos is pretty ubiquitous. It's a critical part of the map kinase signaling pathway, and this is very important in basically every single cell. This pathways involved in Cell Proliferation Cell Survival had differentiation here. There's a whole bunch of other stuff and it makes a little bit confusing because it is involved in. So many different pathways that if you were just to inhibit this molecule non specifically, you're likely to see significant side effects with patients. It's for this reason that it's important that we can come up with a targeted therapy that will only target cells that have a mutation in chaos rather than the healthy normal. KS. To talk a little bit more about its function, it works as a GT as and what this means is that it takes a molecule GDP converts it to GDP using that phosphate group to continue the signaling pathway. The next step is Raff or something like that mutations in. A company twenty, one point, six percent of all human cancers, and then I have here that chaos the predominant or exclusive Rask's mutated in three of the top four neoplasms that account for cancer deaths in the US lung colon and pancreatic. Cancer.

Out there have probably talked Theresa Had Her as their nutritionist. And you can really send her personality her sense of humor coming through in this blog so I thought she did a really great job with the writing in this particular article. So thank you Theresa for that and you can find. Theresa's article and any of the articles the blog articles that we right at our website weight and wellness dot com rate. So when we say cooking and eating the weight and wellness way. What does that really mean? You've heard US say eating the weight and wellness way for many many years now and very simply when we say e the weight and wellness way. We mean that this is an anti inflammatory eating plan. That is based on real food so I WANNA put a pin in that term anti inflammatory we will be circling back to that and for your overall health and wellbeing. We recommend evening real food. And that's a term you all as listeners have now heard many many times real food and you may have heard terms leg whole foods on processed foods foods that your grandparents eight or foods. That are plucked from the farmer's field as Melanie is infamous for saying we talk about eating real food. This is protein from grass fed animals vegetables that you could grow in the garden or that you could buy from the farmer and natural beneficial fats. We will really elaborate on those good fats leader on the show. It may surprise you to learn that most grains lentils some being products are actually inflammatory foods for many people so we suggest limiting the amount of these foods to no more than a half a cup per serving. I have some clients who are really sensitive to those foods and we do have to remove them completely sometimes but a lot of times even just at half cup serving is enough to help people bump their blood sugar up. Get a little bit of energy and still feel good now. We have listeners. That are here with us all over the world so we hope to offer each one of you a pearl of wisdom that will have you saying. Oh I didn't know that in the kitchen or the next time you're doing some meal prepping so I'm happy to share the Mike this morning for the first time with Marianne but before Marianne introduces herself. Mary-anne going to ask you about garlic because you had. I attended one of your kind of previews in the cooking. Classes that you did and you had some really interesting things to say about Garlic and I think even most of us in the room or really surprised by the information you shared so I'm going to hand it over to you. Great thanks Leah. So I am a big garlic lover. I like to put it in a lot of my recipes and so when I make my garlic the trick to getting all of the heart healthy or cancer fighting benefits out of that garlic is to allow it to sit for ten or fifteen minutes after you chop it or you crush it or mince it and it actually releases an enzyme which allows it to be more nutritious for us so once you let it. Rask then you can go ahead throw it into a pan and let it do its magic. That's super interesting because I have always just chopped the garlic and then boom right into the pan with the onions and everything like that so I think I like. I know I'd really took that Pearl away from you. That the time I heard you say that. Yeah we just have to be a little patient so then throw it on in and let it do. Its thing so my name is Maryanne. I am a farm to table chef and culinary nutrition educator with a company called the cooks cure and I work with nutritional weight and wellness to create some really fun cooking classes We developed some recipes and teach clients how to put their meal plans into practice into the kitchen. Yes and isn't that kind of that's the key thing is like you have all this knowledge about foods what they do for you but then how do you translate that into actually getting it onto your plate exactly? Yeah exactly so yeah. Marianne you mentioned the cooking classes that you offered in and we were able to get those in just before all the stay at home order stuff went into place. I know that it was a big request from a lot of our clients for many years to get some sort of education or just some sort of class around that and as soon as we opened it up for the masses to be able to enroll those classes filled up immediately we knew there was a demanded an interest for that and according to the reviews everyone really loved these classes for one reason or another and some people enjoyed learning the new recipes. Others said that they love the time saving tips. And I promise for those of you with local here to the twin cities that we will be offering these classes again as soon as we're all able to safely get back into meeting as a large group But Marianne you know I wasn't able to attend those classes. But do you remember anything in particular or one or two things that really people seem to look into? It really seem to hit home for people that they were able to take away. Absolutely we all had a lot of fun. They were great classes. They were full and And you know it was great is we had beginners and people that love to cook all in the same room and we learned from each other and we asked each other questions. It was fantastic and the other little nuggets. That was fun was Exposing people to vegetables that they might not try normally we. We tend to get into these these ruts and and in our routine of eating the same vegetables. So introducing something. A little unusual was really fun and everybody was really curious and I so enjoyed that was. It was a ton of fun so so I hope that we get back very soon too so that we can do those classes again and so you know now. That restaurants are closed indefinitely and people are staying at home. Almost everybody is dusting off their slow cookers and their instant pots. They're pulling out that collection of cookbooks and they're getting back into the kitchen. Which is a fantastic thing for me. It's the thing that I love so I'm thrilled. That people are doing that in so today. Leeann and I want to share some recipes and cooking tips and some reasons why cooking the weight and wellness way is changing lives here and all around the world. Yes I've been hearing that from clients to mary-anne that it's you know we're we're kind of forced into necessity at this point to actually have to dust off those aprons and get some of that cooking equipment and and dust off of skills a little bit absolutely. Yeah and right now. We want to touch on a few reasons. Why cooking the weight and wellness way or cooking and eating that real food at home is so much better for you and your family's health so I mean as a as a Dietitian I like some technical and the logical reasons to avoid cooking with those unfair refined fats and oils and on dishing up nutrition. We have said so many times that it is best to avoid the refined factory fats and oils in those foods and to actually eat for your house. Oh Marianne wants you just at least mention what some of those Refined oils are. You are so right Leah. So some of those really unhealthy refined oils that some people might find are soybean vegetable canola corn and cotton seed oil and nutritional weight and wellness. We recommend avoiding these refined fats and replacing them with real natural beneficial fats. Such as butter olive oil coconut oil avocado oil and even Bacon Grease or Lard Yum. Yeah the kind that our great grandparents used to us as to have a little coffee. Coffee can underneath the same and either Greece. Definitely so go to your cupboard and read the label on each oil and if you are still cooking with these refined damaging fats maybe now is the time to walk over to the garbage can toss out each bottle one by one and say to yourself. I am done using damage factory-made fats and oils. Yeah are a perfect will Maryanne. Let's put a pin in that for a second. We have to go to break the. You're listening to dishing up nutrition and today we're sharing a number of reasons why many people are cooking the weight and wellness way. And we'RE GONNA BE PROVIDING SOME TIPS TO HELP YOU. Make the most of your time in the kitchen. So we'll be right back going back to dishing up nutrition. I've worked in many restaurants and I've worked every station in those restaurants and one of the tricks that I learned was to always have lots of onions celery and carrots chopped because they are often the foundation of so many recipes and I'd like to add them to a lot of the recipes. I'm preparing and always have homemade bone broth to use in soups or anywhere recipe calls for water. That's my little trick to add a little nutrients and I usually add bone broth to add more protein and to make it more nutritious

Fujifilm X-T4 Launch, DPReview Analogue Forum and Jonas Rask
"Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of caucus take which is my take on photography news this week. So let's begin now. It seems twenty. Twenty is all about flagship. Cameras and Fuji. Film Wasn't going to be left out so they just announced their brand new flagship hybrid. Murless camera the new x t four for those of you who might not be acquainted with the term. Hybrid Camera. It's basically a digital camera that can do both stills and video equally well and for years the top two camera lines has been the Panasonic G H series and the Sony a seven series but Fujifilm challenged their market dominance back in September of twenty eighteen by launching the now famous x t three for shooters the XY. Three was groundbreaking terms of the features. It offered seriously offers as well as still shooters but the one thing that was missing. And what the competition had already at that? Time was in body image stabilization. Well no more. The main feature of the brand new x t four is the addition of the older exit ones ibis mechanism updated of course and matched to Fujifilm's latest and greatest sensor and processor combination. It's important to note. The X T three also has the same sensor and processor combination so the image quality south dean the x t three and the X X T. Four won't be the same between these cameras but the difference is of course again. The addition of ibis but as well. There's a brand new three hundred thousand actuation shutter mechanism with magnetic springs to dampen and quite the entire shooting experience as well a brand new seven represent more capacity battery system any turbo charged firmer update. That frankly does circles around the firmer of the x t three which again shares the exact same processor as the x t four so look for a upcoming future firmer update I hope the launch price of seven hundred dollars of the four is well in line with the competition regardless of the sensor size. But what differentiates these various cameras between Fuji Film? Sony and Panasonic is the availability of excess series which includes third party cinematic lenses for which Sony and Panasonic have a much larger ecosystem of third party support however many still feel including myself. That Fuji Film Has the Best Balance of sensor size native Lens Selection and firmware. That gives equal weight to both stills and video shooters over the competition as many of you know. I work closely with Fuji Film Canada and was given an early pre-production copy to test before launch. I'll leave links in the show notes to my article on Fuji Lab as well as I do channel on my first impressions on this camera. But if you don't WanNa go there I'll just let you know my overall thoughts on the camera. So far is very positive. I mentioned this in both my video and article that this camera is what the original x h one should have been back in twenty. Eighteen Fuji Film was too anxious to release the camera the X. H. One and decided to use the aging process or pro which was the third iteration of their processor instead of waiting for the upcoming x processor for that was eventually launched. The xt three just seven months later if film decided to wait until September of two thousand eighteen to have launched the H. One at the same time as the x t three one with ibis and the one without that four hundred dollar launch priced her friends the H. One being launched in nineteen hundred dollars. Us Back in two thousand eighteen and the fifteen hundred dollar price point for the t three back in September two thousand eighteen. That difference would've made a lot more sense and I believe that the X. H. One would have become the hybrid camera choice back then right until now either way better late than ever and the exit. Three has already been an award-winning winning camera. Even without ibis. So it's not like it was a failed camera. The x three is still great. In fact there's a decent deal on the x t right now so if I this isn't your thing or you have a decent collection of stabilized lenses already. Then I would seriously consider picking up an X. T. three right now while supplies last
