"Know how to spell that one if not I don't know turning out to be the most inspiring wells gas we've had Rashad Jennings on the show You just told this crazy story about being the fifth string running back and then scored four touchdowns in a game and Tennessee scowl seeing view and being like all right this kid can actually play which is just bonkers. You had a point six. GPA how does How does one get points? Why didn't you just go for the Buckshot and go for the zero point? Zero four zero. I guess they didn't want to give me zero Don't but now seriously a funny story to kind of explain why how two point six one we had a right. I love writing one time we had to write about our Had Essay paper ninth grade. We had to write about a hero. Yeah and I decided that that's on the right about Dr Martin Luther King We had to put it in. CLA format you. How to cite your sources right as a a paper yeah I go to the library and I gotta find some people that say what I think you know. I gotta find some good quotes and as as I'm looking in the library I can't find anybody says what I want to say So I got the bright idea to quote myself nice so I wrote down. Sometimes I thought I put it in quote Unquote Rashad Jenness. Then I wrote about what I thought about that quote so I decided you know I use myself and I wrote at the in of the paper my source was Rashad Jennings mine turn it in a big fat F F plus so I guess Phil Good about that. So that's why the point six but now And I go and I asked Miss Salman I ask US Emma Salman Why do I get a F and She said Reshad. Yeah you quoted yourself and I said is what I wrote on a paper true. She said yes I said is when a road and a paper relevant. She said yes. I said so what I get a f she said. Because you're not a credible source and I looked at us as you're telling me I gotta go do some Otley the amazing in this world twenty years from now just to come back say the same thing because true now is going to be true later. Yeah she looked at me. gave me my paper Kinda smile and it's every shot get out of here fast forward I'm an. NFL Did a lot of public speaking always dedicated an hour. Every Tuesday at doing community work and there was one teacher that knew me. She asked me to come in and speak to the class. That's because they were doing essay. Paper Professional Athletes Had to pick one favors and write about him and Says sure came in. I spoke to the classism. Speak in an answering questions I'm watching kids. Write down what I'm saying. Put It in quotation. Yeah instead of Reshad generates so I just got geeked up when I I saw it and my asset teacher said every a paper that quote was shot in his cannot please get a copy of it. Took every copy of that. A paper took it back to me Salman twenty years something later yeah slapped it on a desk to say check this out and She looked at. It had a big smile every shot. I knew us going to do some special Monday Sunday. I had a point six though because of it Then but I really did. I thought I was smarter than school. And I until somebody kind of like sit me down and really really explained. Listen you know you just gotTa get through it you just gotTa you got it right or wrong you gotta play the game with school and then once I figured out it was a game I played it. I got my grades. Up is amazing you went back and you probably pissed off your coach with what you what you said all his players and then you've really pissed off his well that's awesome. It's so funny okay. So then you you graduate from high school you go to college. Where'd you play? started off a Pittsburgh University up and Play there for one year started as a true freshman and How you went from junior year fifth-string to not even a red shirt? That's that's that's incredible. Yeah okay sorry. Continue on that for people that don't understand football like to play as a true freshman. That's bonkers doesn't happen very often. The and you had limited limited time running the ball in high school because you are on the bench the most time that's just crazy. Continue on. I'm sorry no you're totally good and Yes started their freshman year and was funny. Make it even funnier. I won freshman right out of the year award at Pittsburgh University. Descend that paper to Shirley did it's still hanging up in the school in a in a I want a road fifteen page paper about the word nothing. Yeah that's what one And so I transferred though because my dad it his illness and sickness he has diabetes and I at the time he had to get his leg amputated. Yeah and so I wanted to be closer to home. You know Nineteen years old at the time. All our newest family. They've been there for me forever. I figured I could transfer and be there for closer to home for three more years And and so I went to liberty. University Liberty is ten minutes from my house and saw finish their three years and then was drafted. NFL in two thousand nine To the Jacksonville. The Jaguars played there for years. Oakland Raiders for one the New York giants for three. What do you consider yourself? Are you a giant. Are you a Jag or are you a writer. Esa S. two. I'm I'm all Retired as a giant all-purpose though You know I'm grateful for Jacksonville believing me give him giving me my first. I shot and You Know Oakland when I signed there for one year deal that was kind of like a prove yourself deal I was almost on my way out of the League. And they gave me another chance and Giants as kind of where I made my name. Yeah Song kind of bias there and one of the greatest organizations top to bottom To work for four and as the Mecca of everything. Yeah and so I I feel like I feel like for being from force Virginia right and then and then and I and then get into chance to play an NFL. It's just like them paying you to post something on instagram. They're trying to get visibility. Players are walking billboards in the more players become aware of this the NFL GONNA strike down with a larger fine because it's like we're getting getting it. How much power player has so Odell is is open the door opening the door to a lot and I will save? Break that I mean it's true because you know why tech's no here's why because as a professional football player like Odell Beckham you don't have time to go to the genius bar and sit there sit there for like two hours waiting for some genius shown up as Larry. We'll see I you know. Have you ever worn anything like that on a field no okay. Have you ever had the need need to check the time while you're on the field what time it is. There's a big. There's a latte that time we'll sit down and distance. You know whoever it is fashionable style. Odell is a rock star that is true. I mean there's no denying but I mean you have have to win. Football Games in order to wear watches like that right. I mean technically you would you would want to go hand in glove would there's a odell shows out he performs. He catches the ball thrown to him he practices. What do you think it's gonNA mean for him to be back in metlife Monday night out is going to be s gonna be everything giants but he's back in that building? What do you think is going to be emotional for him to be in a in the opposite locker room because you know obviously there's a home team waiting and so but he's he's going to be actually in the same locker room because the the jets are going to be in their locker room so he's going to be in the giants? Es Locker rooms right he probably go set at his own locker in that room from the team that cut him that talked about him in his in in the same is going to be it's going to be He. He might get emotional. He might do some crazy score a touchdown. I'M GONNA BE I'M GONNA be tune in and see. What do I know you're GONNA do so? Many might check check the time I don't know but you'll do something. Priority probably lay in a prop as we speak on this because that is I mean. I didn't think that the away locker room in metlife life when it's the jets is the giants locker room absolutely so he will be back in the same room and that is just only conjure up all sorts of emotion and he will yeah no literally and figuratively what time it is and he would be on the same style Oh yeah I bet he is a big game. See born impact, and they see thirty five hundred five star reviews and they see all these raving comments. They're, they're likely gonna download an episode and check it out. And then, you know it's history after that care of the rest. So we're very grateful for those who have left reviews and five star ratings, it helps out tremendously and just seven months. We've been doing this. We have almost four thousand five-star reviews on itunes, the other than it, you can do is super super important, because this show is all about impacting as many people as possible, and you guys who are who are loyal listeners to the show are the embassador for getting the word out about the podcast. Yeah. They're not gonna listen to us the lesson Bill. More to them. Believe me, we are in Basseterre is as well as well. Everywhere we go. Dan, is telling somebody about the podcast, shredding podcast yesterday. He said, it's on. I got. Uh-huh. Okay. Yesterday, the wives are in Miami. I'm like, I'm do something a little different. Why the kids are in school. I went over to whiskey Joe's, which is right there on the causeway. It's the water's right there. The sand my feet in the sand pulled out my computer and I got a girl coming over bringing me some waters, and I had a little shrimp, cocktail. Okay. Guess what? When I left she was subscribed to born. Okay. That's how simple it is. You literally just tell the next person that you see all about this. If you love it because we know you're gonna love it. Rashad is going to bring the fire today. You're gonna know and you're going to get inspired. And so we ask you to do is word of mouth. Right. Tell someone I don't care who it is. It could be anyone just tell them if you love this, and why you love this, and why they should listen. Right. If you have an Email lists, it's out there. I'm taking us over Joel, if you have Email list out there. Right. Maybe it's a thousand maybe it's a million or more people that are subscribed on your Email list, if you would take our podcast, swipe the actual copy from the actual individual podcast and just paste it into your Email, and send it to your list, that is a huge impact because if we can get just one percent of all those people to listen, that would be huge. And then social media, of course, shot, what is your handle on Instagram at Rashad Jennings everywhere? Okay at Rashad Jennings or at kill mo-, Dan long or at Joel Marian. You can actually take a screen shot, take a small video those videos are amazing, by the way, I took a screen shot today, actually when I was parked in my car listening to. Trent Shelton, which just aired out, and so, basically just tag us in their share that you'll probably get a lot of followers from us just from that because I mean, here we sit with Joel's got one point three million followers on there. I'm growing, okay? Don't even look at how many I because I just literally just got on there. And then Reshad I know you've got a bunch of people following. So you'll on accident, you'll get more followers just for helping us out. So that would be greatly appreciated so share with some other. Thank you so much for doing that, again, to help spread the message help spread the impact, don't peop- it to yourself in experiencing. So many DM's text messages from people. You can impact. Lotta people with just a few seconds of your day today. So we appreciate it. If you are new, or they're gonna start Dan, episode. One and two guys go back to episode one then episode to then venture wherever you want on demand. The most important thing is to lay the foundation of why you're listening to this podcast. Why we do it and why we give back and we're not asking for any money for it. Why is that? It's the foundation so episode one and two Joel. That's where they need to go one and two it's the five pillars of impacts, right? We, we have to put the pillars in place before we can do anything else. So the five p's the five pillars of impacts, and you'll see those sprinkled all throughout Reshad story today. Patience perseverance passion. Okay. Pure motives, all of the all the five p's. You're going to see them all throughout you. Always see him all throughout. And there's a reason why because they're the pillars the guests that we have on here are living a life of impact. And if they are doing that there's certainly have in place, those five pills, that's the foundational elements to live in the life that you were born a lip. So as we tell Rashad story, and you see the life of impact he is living, you're gonna see those five pillars all throughout, so you can tune into exactly what they are though. "Bullet-point criteria type of way, what constitutes the penalty. So DPI is pretty easy. You know, the the the defendant arrived before the ball the defender in face guard, the defensive, you know, impede the reprieve receivers ability did they establish the definitive establishes on his own right to that bowl. Legitimately defenseless receivers. Another big one you already have definitions on that. No. I know as well. Right. And then there's another one Nathan to you know, where a holding penalty and Richard Jennings's walked on the set. And so. Back again. Nathan. Thank you. The holding penalty. So that's the ultimate gray area. Right. Ofensive holding. You can call that on every play just the same way that you can call foul on every play in the NBA to right. I think so it's the the art of the hand goes into the breastplate and pull down that's got to be clear and obvious or the around the shoulder pulling the hug, right? Yes. When you tackle a guy that's telling you like there's ways to to to codify it. And there will be an unintended consequence that we're not thinking of. But it's better than a consequence of the entire country seeing that and it's better than the consequence of people who we've met Wendell Pierce before. Okay. Who was on the show yesterday, the actor from the wire and Tra may and all these other great movies and television shows that he's been in. We've met him before. Passionate guy, but a normal regular human being correct at times it sounded like and I say again with the ultimate respect it sounded yesterday. The conspiracy theories thrown out to try and fill the void of the bizarre. Consequence of that not being called sound like had like a tin foil hat or said at times, but some of the stuff that you're not so fans are just so worked up some are gonna turn it off which don't want. I still profiting say it will be a record audience for the Super Bowl. But. I'd rather have the unintended consequence than this. Again. We gotta figure something out to make sure this doesn't happen again. And God forbid it does happen again. And we find out one of these guys. Was thinking about something other than making the right call. And when you think that's impossible. It's happened. "What a pleasure to welcome to the show former running back nfl running back rashad jennings a you remember him of course playing for the giants the raiders and starting with the jacksonville jags also you might have caught him on dancing with the stars big winner there and he's got a new book out called the if in life how to get off life sidelines and become your best self rashad let's dive into football first before we talk about your book we just get through the draft and now we're seeing how some of these guys are working out in a mini camps etc and saquon barkley was one of my favorites i i watched him play for penn state actually went to one of the games and psalm had a quick conversation with them really like him a lot do you think hey as a great a great chance to be a superstar in the nfl i appreciate you having me on and yes i do ironically enough to two months before the draft i predicted him as being the rookie of the year so now that he's a giant i'm even more excited to cheer more i think he's an exceptional talent i think he has his head on right i think he has great work ethic and you know i'm i'm rooting for him and i hope it translates to the pros and having said that you know the giants some people criticised new york for for picking barkley knocks they didn't think he was a good player but hey what about the quarterback situation and eli manning.

"Thinking you'll be slighted children aren't worried about amassing an empire to be humble like a child means walking in the steps of the son of god who focused on giving and not gaming so hurry being called to give your life away these days rashad jennings played for two years at division one aa liberty university and while there he said a big south conference record in yardage jin touchdowns he was also present almost every day to help his dead who ended up having his second leg amputated to due to the ravages of diabetes jennings showed love to his father and rebuilt that injured relationship and he play football after giving away the prominent spotlight of football it pit a miracle happened jennings was drafted in the seventh round of the nfl draft by the jacksonville jaguars the spectacled in overweight boy with a point six gpa who gave up a prominent football scholarship was now a professional football player but rashad jennings realize that becoming a professional player wasn't the mark of greatness he said there's nothing special about me i'm just in the special position if i'm just known as rashad jennings the running back then i failed so jennings started the rashad jennings foundation its aim is to bless kids who are enduring the same kinds of adversity he endured this effort to bless to bless others is what resahd jennings wants to make his life's work purposeful he c that's the third point about what it means to be humble like a child in means you concentrate on blessing the people in your life ego side a focus on giving and concentrating on blessing the people in your life that's being humble like a child that's the gift of life through faith.
