"Doing that. More like the gap between that is really impressive. So I'm going to say give me the Missouri valley on that. But the other school I want to say is Utah. Utah, like there's the Devon lloyds. I mean, I'm working on a draft store that'll be out in a few days. And it's almost impossible though. I talked to a half dozen coaches to find anybody to say anything that's not glowing about Devin Lloyd. And we see time and time again where these players that go there, you know, turn out to be really, really, really high level college players. And I just think they have a great feel for it. And I think it's the culture of what happens probably when they get to that program. So I did this last year. I looked at. Recruiting recruiting rankings and just in terms of like a four year span versus the four year messy rankings just to see who actually overachieved underachieved. And I'll give you this list of ten schools here that overachieved. Iowa state, Iowa, Wisconsin, Boston college, northwestern, Oklahoma state, Kansas state, wake forest, Utah, Indiana. I think that the trend there is kind of the Midwestern schools, really. There's a lot of schools that just don't, you know, certainly if you're like at Iowa or Wisconsin, you can win the battle for like the 5 star in state guy. Not most of the time, but you have a chance at them. But you just don't have access to these SEC guys. You just don't. And so you have to find the three star guys that 24/7 is underrated. But I would say Oklahoma state certainly stands out because they don't intend to sign top 25 classes. They don't. I mean, and I know not everyone's going to agree with that approach and it probably drives people like crazy, but they know that there are certain guys that go to OU and they kind of don't want those guys. They want the best in state. They want good players from Texas and from the junior college ranks in the portal. And that's kind of how you build a roster right now, especially when you just, no matter how successful you are, you don't have access to a, the guys that are highly rated and now be the guys that want to be paid for their signature. We saw Utah go toe to toe with Ohio State and all their 5 stars in the rose bowl, even while having to play running back at cornerback. Last four classes, 42nd, 30th, 34th, 38th. I think definitely definitely qualifies on the short list. So you agree. Oh, for sure. I agree with all of those on the list, except for maybe northwestern. Not really. It's just sticking in your craw about Kyle prater and hunter Johnson, isn't it? I mean, who bugs you more ravel or to be associated with you or hunter Johnson and Kyle prater? I just feel like if we're going to give somebody credit for developing underrated players, you should occasionally have more. They had rashaan slater and Greg newsome going the first round last year and it was like the first time they gave Notre-Dame Brandon Joseph. That's a good player. For the most part. Ben's quranic. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, they'll have like, you know, like the scattered hits like that, but we're not to the level of some of these other schools we're talking about. You know, it's interesting, max. We're going to talk about you for a second, too. I have an added appreciation from this podcast for our pat Fitzgerald because it's given me a window into the national or the sports writer who really dumps on northwestern because you hold him to a different level of scrutiny or that program. Then you do other programs. You're saying like the self loathing northwestern fans like too high of a standard. It's a little bit like for the average fan, they probably don't have like, I don't know if poor Mick McCall, like there's like people that I feel like doesn't get worked up about them. But because it's his Alma mater and I feel like there's a lot of other sports writers because, you know, that's a top four school when it comes to sports writer journalism. And so you have a lot of people who have that affinity for it and they're out there and they're prominent and they just kind of they get worked up. I just think it's two of the last three years have been pretty pretty miserable. So the assessment happened but it would be I've heard before from people Bruce like they've seen pat Fitzgerald speak and these are like people at a big power 5 schools and be like, oh man, that would be like, if we could ever hire him someday, that'd be awesome. You know, obviously it hasn't happened. Do you think if he became a free agent like people would be surprised by how many schools would want to hire him? Oh, I mean, I think he tried. It was a really good coach. You always hear the only place you might leave for would be the bears. Right. So the packers tried to hire him a couple years ago, Michigan tried to hire him in the coaching search that led to Brady hope. He's a great coach. I don't want to, what he's done there is absolutely remarkable over the duration of his tenure. Things have things that have stagnated a little bit recently as well. Why do you think that is? Because we heard so much about how their new facilities were going to be a game changer. Well, I heard it was like right on the water, isn't it? Isn't that the ultimate proof of something I've always said? Just buildings don't win football games. All the bells and whistles and everything. Does not win you football games. It seems to me like they need a quarterback. Quarterbacks. That would be helpful. And receivers. Yeah. Yeah, there's been a they used to actually add a pretty good run for a long time of like sneaky good receivers like Ben's chronic. They just haven't had any of them recently. As always, you can send your emails to the audible pot at Gmail dot com. We can't promise the max will be on here to answer them every week..

"He will join us here on the show at one pm so in thirty minutes. We'll be talking to the new office coordinator from the midway panthers coach. Tommy allison but right now are on the phone lines talking all things cowboys and rj. It's fisherman. the cowboys are headed. Back to oxnard california for training camp and the cowboys brand doesn't need any help. But how big is that. Just to get back into the routine of going out to oxnard. After missing a year due to covid last season we know what it feels like normal. It feels like old times and You mentioned the grand. Hasn't been any help. But i mean isn't about being on oxnard is Smokes chilly. I mean you know if we're not talking about that as one of the biggest benefits of this happening here then we're really missing the market right. No doubt about that and you know as far as them in training camp they'll be scrimmaging at some point with the rams and we've had mixed mixed feelings on this. I think it's a good thing when they do that. I think that coach is like it a lot when they do that. But i've also heard other people say that they're not big fans of that. Where do you stand when it comes to scrimmaging with other teams. You know ultimately. I think it can't hurt I can. I can see a person saying that. It's not their favorite thing. But i don't see how this can negative impact you in any way. Maybe you'd rather be practicing on your own but I think i can be less of a fan of it. I suppose if it's a weaker team but the fact that it's the rams and the fact that it's this incredible coach sean mcvay I think it's a good thing. I think especially you know a team that is really new in terms of offense of identity. This season having traded for matthew. Stafford i that you know it makes sense and so Because the the monotony of training camp can kind of you know every day. You're going at the same guy. Same got same guy. So i think it does inject a bit of a reminder that like hey we're here in a different sense. I think that those practices can be more valuable than even preseason games. Because it's not like you know. Dak prescott amari cooper get a whole lot of reps in the preseason as it is so I think it's really exciting. And i think you know you've got to start normalising yourself. You know we talked about feeling like normal camp in oxnard. But i mean this is a a season where the nfl is gonna feel more normal than it ever has and so How ever many steps. You can take kind of ensuring that. I think it's a good idea especially for cowboys team. That's making so many changes on defensive side of the ball or jay. We were talking about kelly moore yesterday and how is he the next head coach in waiting and maybe not even necessarily for the cowboys. Maybe even another team is he successful as the cowboys offensive coordinator this year. Do you think he is that guy. And if so how does jerry jones hang onto him. Kind of like he did jason garrett funny kind of cosmic energy. I guess that that surrounds killing more Just like jason garrett. He was at one point in time. A backup kind of middling quarterback For the cowboys War number seventeen got his first start. Obviously you know first major. Start coaching and the nfl the cowboys. A great offensive coordinator early on And you know what kind of ada jason garrett's you know rise to start them. I mean people forget that he was offered head coaching jobs. Out of the two thousand seven season in baltimore and atlanta jerry jones and there was a different time. It was a little bit easier to throw money at people Wade phillips kind of there was a really obvious clock on him in terms of winding down Ironically it was a game against mike mccarthy green bay packers ultimately spelled enough for the convicts to fire wave and so. I think that that's the only thing standing in the way. Is the cowboys. Moving on from michael mccarthy and so I think that they would take so much if things went bad. And to the point that necessitated or justified mike mccarthy fired out of the promoting kellyn more but but to your point. I do think he's an nfl head coach sooner rather than later in fact Different shows and stuff. I've done i think he's the head coach of the bengals next year. I think zac taylor. People think mike mccarthy's on some hot tea which is a weird taste. That taylor is you know. I don't ever want anyone to get fired. But if if coaches coach going to get fired in the middle of the season. I think that i should have the heaviest odds and i could see more headed to cincinnati working with joe burrow and kind of turned offense around. So do you think that that. There's no chance that that jerry jones would just say. Hey you know you're going to be the guy we're gonna move on from mccarthy. I'd i mean you know the circumstances would be interesting to kind of you know. Lay out that hypothetical right. Because obviously you know telling more what have to have success for jerry. Jones feel like move as necessary right and if killing moore's having success then theoretically the copy is having copies offenses having success and mike mccarthy's having successfully So it's i mean it it worked out. you know. I worked out for jerry jones. I guess but not really the cowboys that it made sense to promote jason garrett what they did in two thousand eleven i just i mean you'd you'd be threading the needle of all you know it's like You know like when dr strangers you know saw like all the possible outcomes. And he's like there's only one of like eight billion outcomes where we win like that's it because most situations either mean to callan was bad at his job at the cowboys. Good enough to the point that it's too difficult to fire my mccarthy. A lot of people say that this offense should be so much better and it's going to be better with deck there. There's no doubt about that. But is there enough audit of lying debt to make this offense. Take that next step that everybody expects it to this year. You know. that's that's where probably you know. Things are the scariest. I think Because i think everybody does believe that that's going to bounce back and obviously the incredible once again but the moment timings missile cons kind of sniff any sort of injury. You're kind of up against the cowboys. Did time kind of sexy this offseason so that does give them a little bit of death at the very least but I think that you know depending on what kind of mood you're depending on. How good your lunch for suppose You could feel better or worse about parents. Dealer brandon knight. I mean they're still young players and they didn't know they had moments where they struggled that season but it is so rare to be that young and particularly to be undrafted and to have all of the nfl experience at they do So i think the you know the glasses kind of hassle in that sense But you know and maybe they're foolish for this but the cowboys did pass on. Rashaan slater twice because they traded back off. He played in the first round so they clearly feel that confident in the health of tyron smith and michael collins. And that's really saying something. I mean you know that it would have healthy offensive line. Dak prescott can obviously even more great people don't realize he has never played an nfl. Season with tyrants missed for all of tyrants smith lacks healthy season was twenty fifteen went back prescott mississippi state. Wow that tells you a lot right there talking right now when rj offer for blogging the boys talking all things cowboys and we had our guy. Leon hit us up on the text line and just ask your thoughts on deck..

jason garrett jerry jones Tommy allison zac taylor michael collins Rashaan slater yesterday kelly moore Wade phillips michael mccarthy next year Dak prescott tyron smith mike mccarthy sean mcvay prescott kellyn taylor Jones thirty minutes

"They selected in the first round at mississippi state. Not that long ago. So i think you add morgan. He can be that cover one center fielder and they like to play a lot of cover three concepts. At least gus bradley. Does they bring him over to be their dc and you can have that center fielder. And he can do a solid job. Good ball skills. He has excellent range. He's not the biggest type of player but getting them in the second round. Lebed picking the second round. I think that's a solid yet. For the las vegas raiders. Malcolm coons at buffalo. Was our third round. Pick outside linebacker thought. This was a bit of a reach to be honest. And i guess they're looking for their next. Max crosby who got a little bit later than this in the draft but is six for two two hundred forty nine pounds. I saw him watched him against the run. He played a buffalo. He's getting pushed around a little bit. Not exactly a pick. That i am in love with and they haven't necessarily nailed outside of max crosby some of these edge rusher. They've drafted max. Crosby was a fourth round. Pick and twenty nine thousand nine hundred balling out for them in his rookie season and had a solid year. Lash clean them. Feral their first round pick and twenty nineteen is been quiet throughout his career. He's a solid player. Good run defender but not somebody who is giving them the athletic upside or just pass rush upside that you would expect a top five selection. The ad bring carl massive. They bring in sullivan thomas and you look at their funday. It's not terrible. But malcolm kunst the other selections at the guy would have went with that point in the draft but in the third round athens go divine diablo at virginia tech and then the fourth round they won with barry gillespie missouri safety. Both of these guys are safe. These diablo's more box type guy. Six foot three two hundred twenty five pounds could step down one of those hybrid type of defenders that the nfl's gravitating towards who can play that star role hybrid linebacker safety type of guy. Really really good and run. Support is a little bit. Undisciplined in coverage product is a little bit better but man he can really really lay the boom and just be a big physical presence. The back end of defense for team. So you know this is just has mike mayock written all over it to be honest less via. He's another one who six foot two hundred and seven pounds. Downhill run defender. Who really is just strong. Tackler i i think he could be a little bit better with his ball skills and just being able to be a playmaker on the ball but getting them in the fourth round here just to add to a safety group where you already got trevan mooring and you already selected divine diablo. They're labeled safeties. But i believe to be used more versatile away those second level defenders that we talk about. Because you still. John abram this team and i think you're going to see a lot of these guys will guys lineup as linebackers especially divide diablo. Along with cory littleton iniquitous cows and some of the other guys that they have on this roster and in the round out their draft. Nate hobbs illinois. Cornerback jimmy morrissey the pittsburgh center. I don't really have a lot on the corner back from illinois but morrissey he's a cool story kind of undersized he's about three hundred pounds smart type of player he got a call to go down to the senior. I think it was. It might have been thursday or friday. The senior saturday's already miss half the practices and all the times with his teammates. Thousand senior bowl. But jim nagy the director of scouting for the senior bowl director. There invited morrissey down because there were some injuries along the offensive line and more she was one of the replacements and more see to his credit went down. There didn't miss a beat ended up playing in. The game was pretty impressive to so getting him in the seventh round. He's just a tough gritty type of player. That's a solid addition for the raiders. I love this draft. I think the better players to be selected at certain picks. But if alice were can hit and be just a solid right tackle to kind of hold down that often line that just needed to be replenished because everyone got just shipped out outta town and it seemed like and him called miller and up being just presences on that often line for car. Then it's going to be much better than how i view it right now then. We have the chargers draft which i really did like run through the picks real quick and give a brief overview first round sean slater northwestern offense of tackles second round asante samuel junior florida state. Cornerback third round two picks. Josh palmer tennessee wide receiver. Trey makita georgia. Tight in fourth round chris rump duke outside linebacker. Fifth round brendan hamied nebraska. All of tackles six round the nickname in iowa inside linebacker and larry roundtree third missouri running back in the seventh round mark. Web georgia safety. Look they needed. To upgrade the offense of line for justin herbert. You're an evil to get one of the top. Two tackles in the draft in rashaan slater can now sliding be the left. Tackle along with brian. Balogh who's going to be on the right side added later in the draft. Hey me's whose fifth round pick and a pretty darn good player brendon. Thorne love this guy going into this draft. He can be a developmental guy. You can kick them inside if you really have to. But you made a focus to upgrade. That offense of line. And i really really respect. I also made a focus to bring in a cornerback who can come in and play man coverage effectively and help. This rinaldo hill coached defense. Because you have. Tim barron campbell. You have michael davis. We brought back brandon facing son. Who was the kid from..

justin herbert michael davis Tim barron Josh palmer Max crosby mike mayock sean slater jim nagy friday six jimmy morrissey Nate hobbs seven pounds max crosby brandon fourth round second round thursday brian third round

"Obgyn radio for final segment. Jimmy we have this written down in the show notes for last week. And i'm assuming by the way we're done their observations right. You didn't. that's good enough. Yeah yeah same me. We're kind of stretching there at the end. Anyway i was gonna say erin suboxone point the punter yet a four point four eight hang time on the time on the fifth best in the league on average last year so there you go really exciting anyway. You had this mark down the show sheet last week. We didn't get too long. You ask the question. Where do you have. The eagles ranked in terms of nfl wide in the nfc in the nfc east. Let's do them in reverse order on that day. So where would you have that makes the most sierra what word you have managed east so i have them for the nfl. Although as i did record prediction i had them. What eight and nine this year ended with you. And then i did it. With rj on the nfc's mix tape and we actually went through. We didn't go game by game for each team right odd cast but we did that activity on our own and said the records at the end of it. Okay and i came out with this weird scenario where washington wins the division at nine eight and every other team goes eight nine. Okay so it's not a like like you know huge drop off from the other teams that i do have them for how would you rank them the division i output washington i right now I think they're the best head coach. I think patrick is kind of underrated as back. And i just don't like mike mccarthy at all. I don't trust him yeah i can. I know dax good. But i i think dax early season last year is being a little bit romanticized to like. He wasn't going to keep on. That pacey was on and the first year the way those numbers he was posting like. There's some empty numbers in there. The team was losing like they weren't good wasn't like killing teams in his posting. Great numbers he was like posting these numbers because they kept getting the ball back because their defense can stop anyone anyway. So yeah i the cowboys to the giants three. And then you'll see last. What about you have cowboys one. Because i do think that deck is substantially better than any other quarterback in the division I do have enough injury though. I do like the washington football team's roster from top to bottom side of course better than any other team in division. I actually think there are significantly better than any coaching staff. Yeah i like rivera Cowboys i think even though i'm not a big oh man. What's the defensive coordinators naming real. Dan win dan. Quinn can't think of that. I like. I'm not a big dan quinn guy. But he's going to be an upgrade over. Can't remember his name either. No net known mike dolan. Mike nolan joke of a higher. Yes like i mean. He's been a terrible. Gordon was the last two or three stops or whatever. It was pretty predictable that he was going to be good. Yeah their defense trash and remains try actually there are sniffing around apparently gino atkins last year. They sign or they signed. Gerald mccoy griffin getting. Hurt like immediately So anyway they're going back to that. Well they're dirty events garbage but Do you think the dak. And there. I mean those receivers in cooper gallup in lamb lamb. Very quietly had a pretty good year last year. Seventy something catches nine hundred. Something yards only five touchdowns. But that's only going to go up On the zeke is cooked but the offense wanted still good enough. Were on the downswing. But they're still good enough so obviously healthy. I think they're down mean it's kind of a toss up who's better like the cowboys offense or the football team defense. Would you take. I would take the football team defense. Even though i think defense in the stickier the year and that concerns me but i think people are overrating the health concern like i said this before my biggest fear jimmy that the cowboys would have done in. The draft was not to your quarterback with their first trump. It was that they would have taken off until women. Because i think the offensive line isn't in good shape especially gets hurt again like i think they're offensive line could easily unravel this season. I have definitely taken rashaan slater over. Mike parsons our them. yes i when. They're on the clock. Like i was like i was okay. Well there's going to be response later here and no so. I thought the giants were gonna take him once. Devante was gone and then of course. They traded out Anyway so i've giants three now. I think it's closed between the giants. Kneel i don't think giants are good at all. I'm not a daniel jones guy even a little bit their offensive. Line still sucks. They do have good scopus players. They do of good pieces on defense. Secondary's fine but they don't have a pass rush. And i mean their linebackers are good. I guess but like it's just not a team that i don't like the gentleman's been getting better. At least he's just not making like absurd some good moves like and they've drafted a okay ish but i just don't i just don't like The way that the roster's constructed at all. But i would still give them a slight edge over the eagles. Yeah do you think the giants win more games than they do last year. Which is like what like six. They're six.

Mike nolan mike dolan Mike parsons Jimmy Gordon last week last year patrick nfc Seventy washington nine hundred Gerald mccoy griffin erin five touchdowns rashaan slater six rivera Cowboys nine three stops

"He's the giants beat writer over there and on the star-ledger Great job and he made a prediction for us. He's he's thinking devante smith interesting. Well and let's be honest. I mean joe. Judge loves his alabama guys. And so it wouldn't it wouldn't surprise me. I mean there's a lot of ties to alabama again the the the signing of kenny golladay. Without golly i would be i would be sitting here saying almost definitely jalen waddell devante smith. You know whatever of those wide receivers. they're the golly. It's thrown everything a little bit of a loop. I you know because they do have other needs offensive line although that one of the things. That zack said that we have a ton of time to get into. Your was that the giants in the building. They are a lot more confident about the offensive line than i think. Everybody else seems to be then definitely more than i am. I know you're you kinda right. Rashaan slater seems to be your guy right That that is my preference. Aw i'm always of the belief that you work on your line and and work your way backwards. And i'm always all for taking the best available lineman whether it's on the offensive side of the ball or the defensive side of the ball taking another receiver makes me nervous But look it's worked for them before. Nick says a super bowl champion. So we'll say like the vaunting smith alone. I think he's an explosive player. he's just a little small at that. You know that eleven. Pick either really tiny guy. That scares me a little bit but it wouldn't shock me to see him be pick like i. I could see very easily. I mike parsons is the guy. And you and i've talked about this on our podcast. Very talented guy sat out last year. Apparently has some maturity kind of character. Stuff put. I don't know i keep having this kind. A gut instinct gut feeling that he might be guy he i i i. He's one of my my two or three guys. I could see being the pick He is he's going to be on the board for them He's the kind of versatile player that that joe judge loves that dave gettleman loves and they're gonna have to make a decision. And how do you weigh those personal issues verses the performance on the field and i'm really happy that the two of us to make that decision. Thank god now is actually the good stuff that he had in there. That like that. I was not aware of you. Know kinda inside the building and a lot. It seems a lot of the joe. Judge stuff and everything really good stuff new york. He definitely has his ear to the ground and he he knows what's going on over there and you look and if he's wrong about devante smith i know you you won't hesitate to call amount of alyce but the i'm gonna say one thing about the draft in this is non giants and it kind of ties into the jets. Here is that just feels is my guy in this draft. That's the guy i think is going to be the the guy out of this draft trevor lawrence. I think will be good. But i wanna questions about him too i. He's not as short of the thing..

"Who cares about anything else. When you've got rick tittle on the radio. I know really welcome back to the show and by the way with these drafts have not gone well. Recently with the mike mayock picks you said some decent guys. Max crosby hunter renfrow. But he's had some real with a ruse and how about the weird quote unquote trade of solomon thomas. Arden key and berries i. It's one man's you know what is another man's you not let as we start to get more towards the The draft and reggie mckenzie when he ran the raiders always said that The big board does the draft and he swears by it in other words. He's gonna write down a list. Hundreds of players literally hundreds of players. And when it's his turn to pick whichever name is not crossed off that's highest up on that set list. We'll be the guy that they will. That's it the big board does the picking which is one of the stupidest things i've ever heard of my life. You know if you're the chiefs and your big board. When it comes time to pick says trailer lance is that who you drive That's kind of what the packers just last year. Even though they traded up to get it. But see what i mean. We'll don't do mahomes exactly. Yes they have mahomes. So one thing that i thought was interesting too when it comes to The draft is that you know the the madden game in a video game. sure you probably heard of it The madden game Does a you know season preview. They run some sims facto run hundreds of sims. And they'll say hey. We played out the season. And here's what we saw and you go. Oh pretty cool and then you'll play the play offs we've the madden game. Says that this and that okay well. That's that's cool as well but then They run their own. Mock draft the maggie and they just run through the algorithms and they try to see. Who's gonna go where and who's going to do. What and for the most part when i looked through the algorithm that they ran It was pretty funny because things kinda got a little bit weird when it came to the because in the first round now remember this is all fake but in the first round of twenty two overall they selected notre dame offensive tackle liam aiken berg. Leeann ikin berg. Everyone has as a day two pick. Maybe day three so that would be reach right. And then their second round pick. They have devante williams at a north carolina. Now devante williams. There are some people who like him better than najji harris. I don't but that's just goes to show you that. This is a kid in the tar heel football program if you wanna draft. Nc's devante williams. That's not a bad pick. But it doesn't make much sense for the titans who already have derrick henry as their bell cal of all bell cows leading the nfl in rushing two straight years and then last year they spent a third round. Pick on this guy darrynton evans who they like. So i'm just saying truth stranger than fiction with a lot of this stuff But with the big board as what. Cbs sports did was. They went out and they made a consensus big board and then they made a consensus mock draft. In other words they have thirteen people at cbs. Sports dot com. That do mock drafts. And i look at them now on then and if i had to gauge the one that i would probably trust the most it would probably be prisco's just because he's been the closest over the years and any of them that have mac jones at three throw out but there consensus big board I'll give you the top ten remember. This is best player regardless of position. Which is a weird thing to say. Because when people say jerry rice's the greatest football player of all time but he couldn't throw a spiral and he couldn't block and he couldn't tackle anybody. Well that's the thing it's hard to say regardless of position. But here's the top ten consensus big board for these people. Trevor lawrence one kyle pits the tight end at a florida to zack wilson. Three mike up hearts linebacker at penn. State four patrick 'certain junior the cornell alabama and sewell rashaan slater at seven. That's the tackle from northwestern justin fields eight tamar chasing jalen. Waddell are nine and ten by the way the big board has mack jones. Twenty four which is exactly where he should be. This guy should be first round pick in the mid twenties. This is the first thing that i've seen. That made any sense. But i did see because they went through their top fifty. They had naci harris forty nine. That's what they think of him on the big board big boy big board big bird big bird so as my pick seventeen if they went with the big board and everybody went in the same order. Though it'd be christian darris saw tackle from attack and like mayock has destroyed the offensive line right now brandon. Parker is the starting right tackle. Another jon gruden pick was awful but the consensus draft when you throw them all together. They have top ten lawrence wilson mack jones third and it's You know once again. You don't trade up all those spots to just take. Aj mccarron junior. I just don't think they do that. This to me has justin fields written all over it. Unless they're in love with trae lance you know and they look at trae lance and and shanahan says that's my you know i passed on. Mahomes doesn't keep you up at night. But it's still bugs the crap out of me and i'm going to be the guy that's gonna make trae lance star or justin field does everything we want and a quarterback east mobile. He's tough he's tall. He's got a good arm. This is my guy. You don't just take like mac. Jones say or trading up to three to make sure we get them they have trae lance four by the way this consensus mock to atlanta and listen atlanta from what we hear is desperately trying to trade down because they have needs and they they think they can get a couple more seasons on a matt ryan which i think they can but with matt ryan and his Waning stages. I could see that. Pick the to me. The draft is going to and this is the other thing too the other day i had carson palmer on my show and i said you know you got a lot in common with joe burrow. You both want the heisman or the number one overall pick by the brown family.

Trevor lawrence shanahan najji harris carson palmer Leeann ikin berg last year Parker first round nine Hundreds of players mike mayock thirteen people hundreds of players Max crosby zack wilson ten jerry rice Waddell darrynton evans second round

"The cowboys. Here at picton. Maybe see grades being higher on hornets retain but boy certaines a safe prospect. You often see him mocked as you mentioned and maybe those first nine different guys off the board. But he's still sitting there in the dark horse for me though is rashawn slater because you look at jerry jones's career. He invests in offensive linemen. How long has tyron smith going to be around. Slater be guard in the meantime. I mean he likes having the best offensive line in the league. So which work needs to be done on the defensive side of the ball right dako scott until the passing game the weapons. That dallas cowboys. Have i got to believe. There's a defensive player coming here. Let's see if they stayed shock with the selection. Marcus and landed of locked on cowboys with the tenth pick in the ultimate mock draft. I am marcus mosier. Joined by land are the host of the lockdown kabyles podcast and with the tenth pick in the two thousand twenty one. Nfl draft the dallas cowboys. Select patrick santan. Junior cornerback alabama. Yeah it was. This is a pick that we've had written in pencil since october. It's not surprised especially once. Jay z horne came off the board made the pick really easy cowboys. Pick another a starter that go up so trayvon digs and hopefully a long-term starter for the next ten years. Yeah day one starter for the dallas cowboys. I think he's very similar to like a marlin free coming out of alabama a few years ago a perfect fit of scheme in the dallas cowboys. And now we turn our attention to the second round where the cowboys potentially trying to trade up to get back into the first shot to add some more premier defensive talent and it was the alabama corner. Patrick attend the second. We saw his father playing the league. So well for so long. Seemed like a second version of patrick's ser tan was destined to be a top ten pick and he does sneak into the top ten here in our ultimate mock draft. Yeah and kind of a tricky as you mentioned but a high quality player. I mean exactly what they need. This defense does need a lot. It's lacking talent and also just made a lot of mental errors and mistakes last year. You would think they would that some that the latter we get cleaned up a little bit too. I'm excited with our odyssey experts. I love this. We've got the playmaker today. Michael joining this. This is pretty cool. It's pretty cool hall of fame. Big time awesome receiver. That was a big of growing up. Get get his take on this. That's awesome. Let's go to michael irvin and his thoughts on his dallas cowboys selection patrick's ten number ten. This is a great pickup for the dallas cowboys. Now they compeer patrick's thirteen the second. We're trayvon deeds on the corner at at have rate corners for long john. I asked patrick's attend about this on my podcast. He says they have had conversations about being in the corner for the dallas cowboys was decent for years to come him in trayvon. Let me tell you folks. The dallas cowboys need a lot of help on defense. It is always easier to find the guy that get to the passer than it is to find the guy that can break up the past we could find. Is you get to. The quarterback is hard to find. Is that could cover the wide receivers pick for the dallas comes now with another breakdown of an alabama prospect this time patrick's for ten luke robinson of locked on obama with his thoughts on certaines career with the crimson tide. Patrick certain from the university of alabama. Of course the son of a patrick certain senior and he's a great great player. He's going to be a shutdown corner in the nfl for a long time to come and he's just the kind of guy that just doesn't give up any kitchen he he doesn't take any plays off. Either that's what's so interesting about him. I think defensive backs can get bored when player when quarterbacks decide not to throw in their direction ser tan just always was ready whenever somebody did have the cojones to throw it in his direction. It seemed like something good happen. In terms of he would have a pick six. Now he did get beat for a touchdown against florida in the sec championship game but it was just a perfect pass and a great play by the receiver and sometimes The receivers just gonna make a good play too but those those kind of moments were far and few between when you're talking about a defender the caliber patrick ser tan. He's gonna having least that the kind of career his father had. I eventually believe he will surpass a his father in terms of nfl rates. Let's finish up day. Two of our ultimate mock draft matt with the new york giants who are standing by with the eleventh pick in this draft patricia train. The host of locked on giants has some decisions to make the you go wide receiver. Do you go offensive line. I mean it's probably going to be really hard to pass on. Somebody like devante smith here but they did work in free agency at wide receiver. It would seem that the need there is gone. But you can always help out your your young quarterbacks if daniel jones is indeed their guy mac jones is still out there. I don't know if you up on jones's at quarterback would russian dc giants going here pick eleven devante. Smith is probably the highest graded player by most. That are still out there. Sean slater would certainly feel a need. Though i mean they went tackle the first round last year slater could be a tackle or guard. Frankly slater might be their best offensive lineman the second he put on blue but we also know this team needs edge pass rush and they always covid big guys you know. I mean going back to the parcels days. I mean this organization love bringing big people. Would they love a russo. Were a pay or somebody like that. I mean i think that's not off the board for that. Let's find out who. Patricia selects for the new york giants at eleven the host of locked on giants with the selection. What's good giant fans. Patricia trainer host of the lockdown giants podcast and with the number eleven. Pick in the nfl. Draft i have the new york. Giants letting northwestern offense of lyman rashaan slater now. This was a tough one here. I really wanted to trade down in the strath. I really wanted to draw from number eleven down to maybe around number twenty. didn't get any offers. And the reason why i wanted to trade down was because kyle pits off the board mart chase off the board jalen. Waddell was off the board so three players that i maybe would have considered at number eleven. Had they been there all god so that said i look at the giants offensive line. Didn't really add too much to the offensive line in free agency. Just some really players. But i'm looking ahead. And in were sean slater. They have a guy who can play both left. Tackle and right tackle predominantly a right tackle. But he's also projected to play inside it right guard now. Obviously if you get offensive lineman at number one. The idea is to get them in there and have them start from day one. If at all possible. I do think that if the giants go with sean slater that is. It's certainly a possibility. And you know. I could have picked. Mica parsons penn. State at that spot. I do believe the giants will be able to get it edge rusher in the second round of the draft. There's a couple of guys. I'm bali that they might be able to fit there so again my pick for the giants at number eleven with sean slater northwestern offensive linemen and it is the offensive. Lineman rashawn slater out of northwestern. The selection number eleven by patricia for the new york giants. And you know kind of need eats value here. I think what this election you mentioned. How the new york giants. They love big people so absolutely. I could see this being the pick. Here at eleven for the giants. That's what i would have done as well with all respect. Devante smith that you just signed golladay munich. Daniel jones life is easiest possible saquon. Barkley coming back i mean. How many times has he been. Hit behind the line of scrimmage in his career as well slater's a great player. And there's gonna be some spot for this for him hopefully for a very long time on big blue's offense you know who played against the new york giants quite a bit in his career. Is michael irvin. We just heard from him talking about the dallas cowboys pick. Let's go back to the playmaker on the giant selection of.

Michael daniel jones Patrick Daniel jones tyron smith Sean slater patrick santan marcus mosier jerry jones dako scott Patricia patrick mac jones luke robinson sean slater rashawn slater michael irvin Marcus Slater Waddell

"Now they can address the offensive line yet. The way you want to address the office a lot as you want to put a right tackle opposite of mci becton. So what about rashaan slater from north west and. He's got a glee anywhere on this office. Line but he could be a premier right tackle. You put him opposite mci back edges protect the but you also have the ability to push people off the ball. You wanna be able to run the football you now. Having forces in front of your quarterback you've really made a lot of improvements by simply making a good pick to give one of the best if not the best ed block in the draft. I wouldn't hate it if they line them up right next to mci and either at left guard buck and you could be a left-handed run team there with those two guys play next to each other a lot of fun they still have pick number twenty three That's the one that got from the seattle seahawks. This is a team that has needs all over the defense edge. Rusher in at the corner position. Look they need a big town corner to play in the division where they're playing where you begin to see quarterback play pop up josh allen. You alija thing that lower emerging year too. So let's get somebody that can do. J. seahorn from south carolina would be nice. Pick dynamic ethic playmaker. Tough physical does a great job getting his hands on the ball. He can come in and you would like to think day one he steps into the lineup and ask some sauce and sizzle to this defense. Look we'll see if he can get there to pick twenty three again. This is our optimistic view of fixing the vehicle. That is new york jets. Let's get to some add ons here. We talked about fixing the engine. Went the draft to add ons. Come via free agency. This team has a lot of money to spend. They took their medicine last year to free themselves up this year. And we look at some of the positions that need. We still need it. We still need to complement this receiving corps. They got some good pieces there but needs more as well. What do you think here in. Free agency who. I think we have to go both ways. I think offensively is about making sure that you have one of those playmakers because the staff coming from san francisco. They understand the value of a wingback. How 'bout curtis samuel coming over for the carolina. Panthers terrific playmaker had over one thousand scrimmage yards. You can use a variety of different ways much like the niners were able to use. Deebo samuel and brandon curtis samuel certainly in that area. And then you've talked about edry made me bud depre- but depre- even though he's coming off the acl. He gives you a dynamic athlete off the air. He's coming to his own as a pass. Rusher over the last couple of years helps digest because they have to find somebody who can get after the best. Yeah got to address that pass rusher whether they do that with their draft. Picks were in free agency that has to be accomplished in this offseason. The next thing we wanna do want to upgrade something here. And i think maybe we can even do it with the guy you just talked about their incurred the same got upgrade the run game and when you look back at this next gen From last year frank gore. When you look at the yards over expected so the yard. You're expected to get. How much more do you get. He was minus one hundred and ten yards which was the worst in the league last year. So we look is a hall of famer. He's had a great career. They need some youth. They need some fresh legs back there. And i'm not so sure. Curtis samuel you can throw him back there he gets you a thousand yards back. There's a running back. Yeah he he absolutely would be able to contribute to be able to add to the run game but how about looking at what they already have. In the michael p ryan learn compete round. Last year he had two hundred and fifty two hundred six yards. Only three point six four kerry. But what we know about this run game. They're rob a solid and his staff is bringing over. it is one that really can create an elevate. The players that are runners certainly accelerate scheme. Like this i. I liked what i saw last year. Let's give him some more opportunities like that all right. Let's boost something up. We look at what we already have. We want to boost it up. Talked about rhine man. I look at cornyn williams in the way he came on at the end of the year last year. And i look at robert solid and that's came coming over. Were they are going to let these dudes attack in get upfield man. I think you're gonna see a huge breakout year here from williams coming off a solid year last year. Last she was more of a breakout year. We saw the light really come on the last effort season made a ton of played made impact. Plays at the line of scrimmage when you put them in a scheme that has really tailored to establish meaning. He can just play. You can come up. The field. Play aggressively utilizes hands. Combination of athleticism. Power to play on the other side. Of the line of scrimmage the jets need him to be the premier player on their front line. This scheme could help him can meet those goals and expectations. Yeah he saw the numbers there at the bottom of screen. The pressure rate was not great here for the jets but may quinn. Williams was outstanding seven sacks last year. I think he gets in the double digits this year. could've made a strong case for the pro bowl last year. I think he gets it one this year. He's a phenomenal talent. And i think you're gonna see a big year from clinton williams in this scheme all right. Well that was next. Gen stats powered by amazon. Web services center hit steady state dobbins stopping. Stop the ohio. State university has produced the second most running-backs drafted in the first two rounds. I'm about to be joined by a guy who just joined a fraternity. Jk dobbins second round pick fifty fifth overall in last year's draft jay. How're you doing. Good man blessed. How're you doing. No will so wonderful things that i have to get to because you guys are so terrific. I want to start out pro to prospect series by having you take a look at one of your fellow. Buckeyes trae sermon. All some of the similar trace that you guys share when we start out. I just want to say you're one of the more physical backs that i've seen. Talk a little bit about your physicality so you know. Try to play a physical game. Whenever i have to. You know what. I'm saying. Because my thing is i don't wanna be brought down by just one guy you know what i'm saying because you know in ohio state coaches were preach about. Have you get brought elmo white guy then we probably the situation and then she says so. So i try to find myself in that you know run physical in gaining the extra two or three yards whatever the it should have been a one one yard gain or something like that so yeah i probably Work real hard weight room. You know saying nope. We don't away. So i can do things like that where it's funny that you talk about. Physicality seemed like it was a culture thing at ohio state. When we look at trae sermon he also displays physicality. What have you seen from him. Oh yeah deborah running bar he real physical. You know guy bring him out. He'll run the ball real hard. You'll get x. yards and you know i like his game with my man I think he's gonna be. He's going to be good at the next level as well. You know all running backs particularly lea. Running backs have great vision. One of the things that you just played at ohio state and also your first season with the baltimore. Ravens has been your business. Buildings see cuts.

"You must be crazy. Used a d. o. g. And if you was my man. I would have been kicked you out of my house by now. This is what had happened. It was what had happened. Had had happened one. Eight hundred eight seven eight play. There's also reports this morning. That the broncos are going to decline von miller is option which will make him an immediate free agent. i'd rather have him than. Jj watt. i would really really like to have von miller care. How is i would really really like to have von miller on team. Just throwing it out there is. They could say them. Hey play play here in vegas and selena dean on your favorite and siegfried and roy. I think are still around and you get to stick it to denver twice a year. Anybody dealer you can openly campaigned for guys. That are free. Agents deondraye hopkins stone. Remember he and. Jj watt brought four divisional titles to houston and hopkins of course now and cardinals jersey and if you look at his twitter he put Jj watt in a cardinals jersey. Oh photoshop of them embracing after a game and he tweeted it and said i guess it was on instagram. He said let's finish what we started. So juju smith schuster who is also slated to become a free agent. He responded to what with. Come play with your brothers in pittsburgh so look. The cardinals are not in the mix. There's no way they started off great or they. Six three eight and eight in the play offs. Six years and and hopkins. you know. he's on a team. That's got some talent. Mary buddha baker. Patrick peterson if he stays. They got some good backers. They're jones and riddick but they have some Have some free agents is the question we've been asking kinda like with rothlisberger is larry fits coming back. I think he could if he wanted. The other thing is is that arizona's pretty good defense and they were fourth in sacks forty eight sacks and you think about compensating a guy like that when you already have a good pass rush and see. It isn't fit. It's just me but the other thing to keep in mind about this draft. That's coming up guys who sat out that we have to kind of get to know again. I keep mentioning tonight. You know the number. He could go as high as two. Some people think you could go. Hi as one. But that's not possible. You mentioned somebody trading with jacksonville to give an ice. but he's six five three thirty and is incredibly athletic is he's a jaw dropping tackle and the thing that i think is so amazing tool is that he looks athletic enough to like the tractor trailer like small forward but the pass rush he athletic. You can't get around him but then in the run game. He's out there running in front of running backs at six five three thirty but he opted out but he's the real deal jomar chase magnificent as a wide receiver with lsu bullied defendants but opted out. Like a parsons as i said. Number one linebacker in the draft. You can go hand in the dirt tooth. You want him to rush. Only question on him is is pass coverage but definitely is at least a two down guy kahlo farley. Now the guy we talked about in the first round cornerback from vitek. It look on the film on him from two years ago. And then we're sean slater. Rashaan slater is offensive tackle at northwestern who people talking about his phenomenal balance. So that's good against pass rushers as well. Speaking to oregon. But they had a lot of people have to have edge of on holland and thomas graham java. db's and safety thomas grams a corner and giovanni holland was interception machine and nine interceptions which is amazing. In college and thomas. Graham was a super productive productive corner as well. They didn't play saying that. The woods in the pac twelve levi owned rica. those new laws name defensive lineman at u. dub. This was a guy who can go inside outside good band. I was like that his teammate. The joe trion try on over here. The combine joe try on sixty five to sixty five elite pass. Rusher didn't play last year. What about do is anybody gonna draft. Jamie newman anyone quarterback listed as georgia. But he never played for the bulldogs and for the first two months at wake forest. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Great frame dangerous runner played into gimmicky. Offense obviously transferred never played. This is one of these things where he'll probably be an undrafted free agent. Is anybody gonna spend. Let's say he's a seventh round. Pick and then it's like. How did everyone pass on it. But i just explained why but joe trion is someone i think who's going to be a great pass rusher and but the guy we talked about a lot is gregory russo. From the you now the last report i read on him and the guy said I'm i'm down on him. And i thought oh no. What did he do that. He sell drugs and he pushed the girl down the staircase that he say. Don't you know who i am. Like even foster. No no no. It's just that the report. I saw said that the db's in miami were so good that all his sacks were covered sacks which i think is. I don't even have to look at film to think. That's one of the stupidest things i've ever heard. Every every sack was a coverage sack. All right well then those sacks better happened four to five seconds after the snap if they happen less than seconds give the guy some credit sixty seven to seventy kenny gain wells running back on a memphis and just a guy who's fantastic in the past game as well but he's undersized. He's not a true breakaway runner. He opted out. He thinks he's going to get drafted like the tell me will but i'm sure that a lot of people forgot about him. Some defensive tackles tyler shell then from lsu jalen men from pitt us's j to fellay to fell a master. The howie long swim move. So he's going to get some looks Jalen twin- pittsburgh is probably the most impressive interior rusher. If you wanna look somebody who could be.
