"But i came in smacked against the scoreboard. Which it's solid and it's serrated like you can feel the edges like almost like a like a like a like a ruffle chip and i hit that thing hard and it was like don't shit but the thing for me was there was no like if you bungee or something you feel that you go down and up. There was none of that like once we went out. There was a swing. But you could feel we were super strapped and i never felt like wobbly and then i felt a little bit better about it. You know how was it for you guys getting pulled out for the whole time to go back to your question. Early with the mind set up. I was helping that. We were talking the us antenna. Were like off to the side and we were talking so it helped me get distracted and i was just focusing on the instructions. I never looked down. I was like my look down. I'm gonna freak myself out. So i'd never looked down. And then when he said three two one go. I was like i'm just gonna go as soon as he says go. Whatever i'm going to trust in the equipment trust and everybody and go so. When i went i pushed off when flying off and then as i'm falling down i remember saying you can grab the the rope that harnesses attached to in front of you. So i'm right. I'm right handed just automatically. I want to go grab the rope but then as soon as like you hit attention. Economy pulled up a little bit and my fingers slipped down and hit the metal. Part of the clipper the clip. Yeah and my finger narrowly hit my cubicle. My fingernail almost cable. It is now so then it just started bleeding and then all the fear. I had went away because my my finger shots that i'm in the air. I'm supposed to look like a bad ass this figure and luckily man my finger get caught with all that pressure coming down. Dangerous man i. I would've kept going with a finger on the floor. Like what i would have did. But i also finger but jake being the only smart one. He stopped by gas station. Early named got gloves. And everyone talked to there. Were like you're repelling and you didn't have gloves godless. Yeah no one told us we do this shit every week entertainment movie. Tv whatever they'd have stuntmen going down and then we get about six feet up the ground say cut and then we get the glory shot. That's not what happened. That was us from the beginning to the end so when we go over the edge what are you guys thinking. And how much longer was that until santana and hager go so right before it happened like for me like the sitting down and putting your legs over the edge and just kind of dangle there and then they had to pull the slack out of the line and it kinda like polls your hips out so you got to have a good grip and before you let me. Just say what are you saying. We're literally sitting on the edge of that thing like a little kid dangling. His feet over the dock to slow splash sitting for twenty minutes. So continue and Over the top of were sitting there was like a steel cable. And i noticed that like my my thing got it right away and i was trying not kick my butt over it but not go to for and i know you guys had problems with it and i felt like i was on an island screaming. Hey there's cable But you know how it in the moment but after we got up there and we got over and like i saw three go. I you know it's time to go. I can leave your brothers behind and like you said you felt very secured and going down at the very end. The pyro starts going off and they had need the last one. I was right over the pyro and i was literally like yosemite sam running trying to get away from the fire. The fire guy came up to me. It was like how was it. I was like you. Money did make it easier when you saw school over sense it did a little bit but i i just Again i think we all had trouble with that that cable that yet because i had gotten caught to all when when it was time for us to go and push off the ledge all i kept and i think i met a yelled at going. I just kept thinking of that scene. The lost boys were. They're hanging from the bridge and they just let go and they fall into the clouds. And i remember just keeping that in my head i was like you know a fall into a bed of cloud. We're gonna we're gonna be okay. We're going to be i. We've said that. On the kids. And the ad i watched it before they put the sound effects judas and.

"You're legit just climbing the steep as larry's story or is that our story long and they're straight down and like i made the mistake of looking down some like filling. We've been climbing for a while. And i looked down on my. Oh shit. we're high you know. We weren't hooked up to anything that doesn't strapped in and they never really told us that which maybe is by design. They just said he gets climate. These ladders and i was thinking like pretty high because this scoreboard. i mean. is it a hundred feet hundred fifty feet. I don't know so we're basically climbing one hundred and fifty feet straight up and it's nighttime so it's windy. That's super wendy. But wendy enough. I also had that stupid arm. Brace on and my arm was taped so my hand was taped. So it's a little bit. Slippery slimy and that thing that kept getting caught at times and i was like if this thing. If you fell off this latter you literally would die for false stories. There was no like different platforms from each from what i recall. It was just one big ladder the kind of like a little area than another story of ladder than a little area. And you're kind of asked flying in the wind. Now you said jake that was more terrifying than a may fight. It really was. I had to like go to a special place in my head and just tell myself step by step grip and it was one of those things that i was so glad that i went through with you guys. Afterwards it was an awesome experience. And like i mean how many like feelings or do we write that in life. But y'all would not have been there my ass when not have gone on those shares. That was for you guys. Mario jacobs first of all. Jake we we still got beef. The stone coordinators. They were like the two biggest heaviest guys have to be on on. It'd be an end so so we're getting up there and we're climbing. We finally make it up to those terrible as ladders and we're inside the scoreboard. Or right behind you see those giant spider webs of the now. I gotta deal with spiders. Yeah like right out of a hollywood haunted house spiderweb. Survive the clive right to these. I swear the moment we came up. There's this giant spider on what's up. I'm like are you kidding. So we're we're inside the scoreboard and you know the guy. The coordinator he's like. Hey all right so obviously the two the two biggest guys have to go first or whatever and and you know he was making sure quarter and the roof. I yeah. Yeah and so he goes. So who's gonna go first. And i just see jake do the homer simpson into the bushes. Yell looking around. Jake is a big dude. That was the first time. I didn't see jacob disappeared so so i was like well. I guess i gotta go up there. I and i remember getting up there. And he strapped me in your real friend. Thank you. Joe does real love but you know we get up there. He puts me a position. He's trapped me in and then he goes walks away and i look at it. And what are you going. He's like. I gotta go get the other guys and i'm like so i have to stand up here by myself like that's what you're telling me you ll be quick. Quick my s. i was up there. And i saw thirty years of my life through my and i'm just holding on tight in the wind is going and i'm just like this can't be my life myself by myself. I can't even talk to the one. It was jake. I love you. It's a further point. I went up. Second and i was like i'll go party. I'm not going to leave him while they're hanging. His face was hilarious sitting his pants and he's looked at me and he looked like he saw goals l. and he was a psych i so my whole life flash before my eyes and i just started dying and he was really like whatever the thing is to were walking on on the on the top of it they have you safety lines and in between every poll that take the safety line off and put it back on. That's how we're kind of inching way down. And i remember every ten that safety lankiam offers a backup and then when you get to the physician you've got to be safe like are you kidding me you know and so because you were second then third and then fourth and then jake was last by design design so then they said the three guys in the middle which is samuel thiessen. And i you'll go first. And then and then jake and santana second and i remember him saying that. Now that you're hooked up here like now that you're on the line if you fell asleep right now you would still go like you have no control anymore now right so then we're sitting there for twenty minutes As they're getting the shot ready. That's when i started to get in my head and started lose. It was it for you guys sitting there like that. That was terrible. Because like you said you're you're you're head starts going to like some real dark places when you start being reminded of other situations that that have happened and as much as you try not to think of those things as almost next to impossible. Because you're you know this this is such a even though you know we're all professionals and the guys that were taking care of us were all professionals. Anything can happen right over me. And but i remember looking down and it was so high up that the these little black marks on the ground that later on i realized with the refs they were so small they look like little tiny lake smaller than than grains of rice. Like just little kind of little like eyelashes almost smaller. You know how about you sammy. So yeah when we first got there. And we were strapped and just sitting with their legs dangled over it just waiting I was like oh shit. It's kind of scary but then like after a little bit. I'm like. I'm not backing out. I know y'all not backing out. Some like whatever's going to happen is going to happen. I might as well just try to enjoy. You know probably never going do it again. So then i started kind of around like kinda dancing a little bit next to j. It was cool man. it was. I definitely don't want to do it again. But then you start getting your blog yes it does gives you mentioned joe or stunt guy. He climbed up with us just to be there and then climbed down again. You can't imagine climbing down those stairs. I would do it again. Because i would not want to get back to the top again but i'm not doing not climbing goes anyways so you're doing your blog thing and i remember. I made a joke. When you're in a circle you always on top with a stupid catchphrase. We're all laughing except for jake. Who's looking straightforward again. Jake has a little bit of a grin and that's it. We're all like not going around as we get down on the ground i had so many production guys come up to me and like man. We got your face when you're at the top and i was like yeah tough but it looked like he was undefeated and then i go so you guys have zoomed in cameras on us. I should have found out before had so then they go. It's three two one. Go and this is go time and i saw you guys went Santana and sammy. Sammy went i. I sat there for a second a little longer. Only because like a little bit intimidated but like you trying to make sure you're in the right position and there was kind of cable created wire underneath our seats that he me got caught up on say. Here's the thing when you guys went. I saw the rope that was right in front of gets pulled out. And i'm like oh that pulls them all it's bullying me out too and then here we go so i came off. I swung straight out. And i came straight back and things scoreboard and i can still see they'll cut. I didn't cut my ortiz. Jose ortiz hurt his finger. But i came in smacked against the scoreboard. Which it's solid and it's serrated like you can feel the edges like almost like a like a like a like a.

"But it's the publishers who own it okay. So then gave him like. For judas like judas. I can't just use it. Sony who owns publishing has to approve. So dear max was the idea. And i thought well. There's no way so i asked mega. Who's who's as cohen. I will call her legal girl which has now changed. I w legally changed her instagram. To if you guys she kind of does this lets her forte's for the nfl to get licensing for song. So i said go. There's probably a long shot thinking about the van. Halen eddie had just died the probably never use it and they came back and said yes for x. And give it to you and it was for not a huge not van halen money and not frank sinatra money which is fifteen grand but somewhere like than that where it was affordable. We didn't do it. And i even said like i'll go half's like get this and this is funny because this is like and you'll you're having some rough times santana was and i was like dude. I got a surprise for you and eagles surprise. And like i said we got d max i thought this is going to be like you know and were all excited and i think you probably so. What's the surprises. I just told me it was a surprise off. So i can only imagine like what a prick just just gave one of the greatest example. He's still actually. What the surprise. What a jerk. So then a couple of days before. Poor daryl because you guys daryl's one of our production managers who he's on the field with us during the stampede. Now you've got the guys in the truck and you got us and he's the middle man. I remember last year because he was wearing. That stupid mask goes ready to rip his mask off like at five in the morning. I'm like why do you say tell them this. Tell them a facial expressions e superstar. He's rated his yeah. I'm super emotional. So he tells me so. I heard that we don't have amac. I'm like what are you talking about. So then this domino effect goes to where we were originally given permission but the family has to sign off on it and they did sign off so that i have to break the news. Like oh man. We don't get so then. We're trying to get some of the suggestions. I was trying to reach out to some of my friends that are part of like griselda records which is like this popular hip hop group now with west side gun. And benny the butcher and conway the machine. Then i reached out to the desert. So i was just trying to reach out to all the guys that i knew that are popular in that you know have a really big following stuff like that and enjoy wrestling defender huge wrestling fan so they would have definitely like let it. It's funny because i messaged west side gun the day before when when we were trying to figure things out and he didn't see the message. Until was i think. Monday and then monday he responds. He's like. I'm so pissed that i missed this message. Because he was like road the next tough he was like the next time. You ever wanna use anything. You have my sign off like any any time. So but i was like you know next time. We'll we'll we'll definitely make something happen. I'm just looking through trying to find some of these names there so we're looking to try and find anybody with a certain vibe to it once was is like what are we going to do. You know what i mean. And so because she's like We were offered kurtis blow the brakes and she sees us that is the most feel-good hip hop saul you do because she goes It's it's similar iconic. I rap song every certified golden number ten of list of the hundred hip up songs of all time right so i said can they get it to us for sure that i listened to it and i go this thing is way to how to be dirtier and vibe and then she came up with a couple of god bless she was working hard trying Because we just couldn't get anybody. And i was like my hip hop knowledge is limited. So i was asking you guys ahead eddie kingston. Come in. i know he's from the streets. Can you give us a lot of his ideas. Were the same. And we just couldn't find any. So then i asked mike ruckus who is the guy. That's come through with a couple times. can you make something. Can you make exco and give it to you. But just not we're going to get sued and remix all. Yeah he came back with one. It was and mega. Just that you've got to change the horns or whatever and he came up with one. That was pretty pretty close friend who is close. Yeah when you sent it to me. I was like that they use the same. Beat how's it. Sound exactly the same atlantis. Lanta that came in. And and this this mikey ruckus. He's an unsung hero. Because you got how much time do i said you get twenty four hours find some rappers and do it. So he really he really did. End came through in the clutch for that for us. So just trying to find the represented omega sparks and doe the paper boy From atlanta lay down a great rap for yes and then the last thing i'll say about is we originally tried the country music but i was like okay..

"Chased by the motorcycle club. And then it's like we're back at that little area and his three two one go through the door and people are still watching it back. People are still thinking okay. This is the next scene and then suddenly they realize like oh. Wow oh my gosh see this. Ripple effect of like earned the arena. You guys on the corner and it was really right Cortizo was the one who also came up with the idea of all of us coming in through the crowd. As if we were coming from the stadium and i think that was awesome to the fans. Were expecting us to even be in the building and and you know we give them a huge surprise in all of us coming through the audience and stuff. It was selfishly. I just wanted to the validation for the fans i just walk through the sea of to to feel that energy man had just at the energy that night was unreal and it was definitely a testament to us. Coming back is the best way to for it to happen. I just like man. We need to walk through the crowd. Like why wouldn't we. You know what i mean. We just had this insane brawl throughout the whole entire stadium. Why wouldn't we walked through the crowd. And i just want. I just wanted to be amongst the fans. It was perfect. There's no other way we we should have done. That would have done that. You know we were talking earlier and someone made an analogy about this in in that match was almost like mimicking what we had been through the past year we started out in our match with the repelling and all that stuff. There's no crowd we're doing this. Great cinematic thing people are watching and then slowly emerged into the arena. And then the end. It's like the five of us in the ring. But everybody's singing everybody's having just the best time and it was really like. Here's the perfect example of where we're at right now. I think it was the perfect validation for all the hard work that we put in the entire year just leading up to that in and finally having that moment if front returning crowd and just it's definitely something that will be with me forever personally like it's a all five of us being in the ring and just feeling that energy and having the crowd singing and and just man whose emotionally oh really was my favorite part was jake's it was like he was in a mosh pit doing like the fruit. I got a lot of gifts guys. Dancing a yeah. Yeah that was the best to just feeling this crowd and it was real and like you're talking about when chris came out like it was so cool because you can see it on the on our faces backstage as they were slowly coming out and slowly revealing to the audience you could hear the rumbles and then the rumble got bigger and got bigger and then there was the big reveal that everyone could see him and it was just like we haven't had that feeling and so long and it's just like i really don't wanna toot our own horns but it was like just man a great energy all the way around. It was good for the wrestling world and disgrace to be a part of going back to win. The idea was proposed because we had thought about doing this. Cat this long angle. That would lead to blood and guts at the pay per view than tony wanted to do it on tv. Some so stadium was the retort for that and.

"We're talking kind the last time we did this last summer. After stadium stamping one with the inner circle. Talking about how crazy to match that was and we kinda wanna continue to do to talk about stadium stampede. Two which just happened and we found out it was the second highest rate in a w history which shows that the stadium stampede is legit draw and i think that's one hundred percent because of us i mean we're the kings of the match. I think it's officially become an inner circle match like the thing that everyone was talking about his last years. I think it was such a surprise as far as no one really knew what it was gonna be. And how do we kind of change it around this year. So like asking you guys. What do you think the biggest differences were between stampede. One and stampede. To you can start. Richie i think for me personally right away was just a feel of it and the vibe that we gave off last year you know had a lot of a lot of pretty comedic spots that were amazing and great and i think we. We did our job in providing an escape for a lot of people during that time like the height of the pandemic you know everything was just starting and i think we did our jobs with giving a little bit of everything in that one and then with this one. It was just pure violence. It was it was. I felt like it was. It was exactly what it needed to be with what we were building and especially coming off of blood and guts and just all that it was. Yeah it just had a totally different feel story was different this time because of to right like more of a blood feud that started with the blood guts and we can talk about that earlier as well but wanted to make it more of kind of like a fight like like like a like a big long fight scene. It's kind of what we were going. Yeah the the hardest thing to do with a intense storyline. Intense feud is the finish really asked the equal that intensity. You gotta pay it off in such a way and to me that finish in the ring live in front of everybody will paid off all the violence all the pain all souls that we had to take for that match that finish in the ring was something else that was your idea for that.

"That's that's true, too. And Anthony Davis and all the ill will and all the ideas about him and all the frustration of Norman's fans and all the critics like me who think it wasn't appropriate. It's gone. It's over. It is a race by a championship. Doesn't make it right. Doesn't make it wrong. It just means he won and that's significant. I do think that guy feels all the fields and Rob Pelinka. Who was the deputy Magic Johnson, who was an agent for a long time is going to have his own complicated moment because he wasn't just an agent for a long time. He was Kobe Bryant's agent. And he was Kobe Bryant's best friend, and there's going to be both. Ah, morning again if they get this win for Kobe, but also rappelling CA was criticized really heavily, and I criticize him really heavily. Hel. I didn't like the region Rondo Rondo decision. And it will be a justification for Rob Pelinka that is both universal with people not like Kobe Bryant, but also very individualistic Lawrence Frank, one executive the year yesterday, which I like Lawrence is a joke, and we'll get that later in the show. Now Robert Lincoln can know even if he doesn't have the hardware. He was the best executive in the MBA. Doesn't matter if LeBron James isn't 70% of that and gifted himself to you. Jeanie Buss, who I really like. I just keep saying that because I want you to understand whatever bias I bring to the table. I don't like Chris Paul and so you can make this happen when I criticized that guy's Maybe I'm just being too personal. I July Jeanie Buss a lot. She is a really kind person. I think there were some questions about whether or not as an owner, her kindness her love for the city, her love for that team. Her absolute obsession with living up to her father's legacy was going to lead to success. Sometimes you can want something so much you lose it. And Jeanie Buss is on the verge. Pulling off one of the more impressive turnarounds in sports and again Maybe it's just LeBron gifting it to you, but it doesn't matter. Success is the ultimate bomb and the ultimate final exclamation point. For those teams that they can claim it as champions. Jeanie Buss was the controlling owner. Of an organization that was an utter disarray. He had to fire her own brother. If you think about that Jim Buss ran basket operations. Mitch Kupchak was the GM who was really Jim's really Jim's guy and come to have been here for years. They had forced Jerry West out. But come check had survived, and Jeannie came in and made some serious changes. People you've never heard of them. People like object. They have who she got rid of. And it was searing for a lot of folks internally because it was a family run business. Jeannie didn't just get rid of her brother. She changed the organization on one of our first big decisions to bringing Magic Johnson and that was to put it kindly an absolute debacle. And yet, we fast forward and in a season where people thought the Clippers were a better team in a season, where the voters thought Johannes was the better player in a season, where there were so many interesting teams that might make a claim toe what was going to be the post LeBron era. A year after LeBron had been injured. Gini bus is on the verge of turning a franchise around culturally and obviously in terms of winds. Not the long term, but the Lakers were as much a disaster. Terms of how they were running what went on internally as the Knicks are As the Washington football team has been. I mean, you think of incompetently run disappointment. The Lakers were a part of that they were They were not to disparage the late great Kobe Bryant. I obviously have a ton of respect for him and his connection to the city. But that doesn't change the fact that contract that was given to him in his last two years set the Lakers back years. $57 million for go could play that level. I know. I know, but we're gonna get mad here. That is true. Whether he deserved it or not accept the Lakers back and Jeanie Buss has been able to be the steward of turning that thing around the validation for her significant and then obviously LeBron James and his pursuit of Jordan. Whether you want to talk about it or you don't and it's interesting some people that's all they want to talk about when it comes to LeBron and some people want nothing to do with it. And I'm not going to pretend that it's conclusive after tonight, but it gets him closer. I mean, T to track down to chase down to pass. Michael Jordan is the best player of all time. Whether it's going to be done or it's not. That is not a Sprint is not even a marathon that is a 15 in LeBron's case now 17 20 year journey and none of the none of the moments that you mark off your list are are going to be the decisive one. There are some big ones and being an MBA champion. For the fourth time. Winning with a third organization, do it for the Lakers and accomplishing everything that I just talked about is going to be a significant Significant reality on the LeBron James. Greatest of all time. Resume whether you accept it or you don't it matters tonight. A lot of things we can hit on basketball, and I'll get to that here in a second. What the heat have to do what the Lakers have two D'oh In a very real way. This is one of the more poignant Meaningful, interesting and complicated MBA championships were ever going to see if the Lakers do indeed win tonight or Sunday or God help them in Game seven. Feels very much obviously like it's coming. And when it does, all of those things are going to be front and center for a city that has been waiting for this for a long time. 855 to 1 to four CBS If you want to give us a call 855 to 1 to four CBS. If you want to talk, some Lakers, some MBA finals or anything you want to.

"Show you can either call us or text us at three hundred thousand nine hundred seventy two hundred either of those ways will work it'll be fun. Right. Here's what you need to know for understand this, and whether you were part of this. But you already know this part you, and I we moved over to this new building about a year ago and run the eighteenth floor in the old days. We were on the first floor that people would walk by and smile and wave at us. Sometimes sometimes not as cordially as a smile and wave sometimes there were other reactions, but we were right there at ground level. So now, we're on the eighteenth floor at every once in a while we will see behind us in order. The windows will see a rope dangling moving around a little bit. And what that means is there are window washers. Working on the building more times than not that's kind of a precursor to the fact that we're gonna see we may see one of the window washers. They may come to the eighteenth floor and wash the windows during the show. So yes, say during the show we kept seeing the rope. We knew it was inevitable at some point. And you said look behind you. And there was a guy right behind the window on the eighteenth floor. Just almost like like, it was a ballet of some sort. He was just moving around. From window to window. He was cleaning. But he was he was doing all the windows at one time swinging back and forth. And I waved at them and turned into a little boy, by the way. It does to an engineer. I did do that. And he waved back and you screamed, and you said don't do that. Because what if you're putting the casualty and I didn't want that to happen. So videotaped during the business lunch. I saw that. You know, what did you say? Like someone's watching hilarious. Is always over my shoulder. All right. So I I have to see that. Steve I want to see that is the same guy. All right, so yes, Fayez I'm leaving. Ryan burrow gets in the elevator with me. And Ryan says hey, that was really funny with the elevator guy. He goes, I mean with the with the window washer guy. He goes. I there's so many questions I have for those guys I said like what what are your questions, and he goes, well, the first question is he goes, this is the eighteenth floor they're on. So when you start that job as a window washer? Do they start you out on a building this size or do? They start you out like three or four storey building. And then after like six months, they move you up to an eight or a ten story building. And I go Ryan that's a great question. And he goes I have other questions like what if every one of his questions were were great news, ma'am. He that's him. Right to everyone of God. Ryan, those are fantastic questions. We get to the ground level. We get to the door and the two window washer guys are right there. Kind of just outside the building. And Ryan, this is your chance. That's those questions because I want to know the answers. So we went over and we introduced ourselves to the guys. Did you say I was the guy who? He laughed so hard and his friend said you could have killed him. I I know I'll never do that. Again. I go let's have like this. This look that will have like if I see you through the window. And you see me I won't I wanna wave to you. But I won't, but I'll just give you a kind of a nod of others you, and I'm here, and here, we are, you know, and he was okay with that. But Ryan asked all those questions like one after another. He's like a machine gun. He's just like pelting them with all these questions. All great questions. All great answers. I feel like I know more. He said he's not scared at all that was actually one of my questions come on. You've got to be scared. How could you be on the eighteenth floor? You're just dangling. There's nothing behind. He goes. No, there's not I'm never afraid and he was up above the eighteenth earlier way above right? I don't know how many floors around this building. But it's pretty tall. He said that you have the option when they teach you to do this. You can ask for lower buildings for a while or you can just jump up to the the hires skyscrapers. And he goes. Got in this to wash. I you know, I'm doing the big buildings. It's funny. I mean, you're not going to be less dead after falling three stories. I don't think so. Three stories you could survive. Break a leg. Eighteen three. Gonna break. More than a leg depends. How you fall? Yeah. If you fall in a trampoline, maybe break a couple eggs. Jumped out of three stories before from fires. Dusted themselves. They'll be injuries. But but but then also think about this. He doesn't do this building every day he and his friend dude different buildings. So the rigging on every building has got to be a little bit different. You know? I just am worried because I said don't wave to them because you know, but his friend concurred don't do that. I was just saying just because I thought you know, if they're they're kind of propel rappelling kind of down the building. So if one hand is holding the rope, and they let go to waste too. So my question is is the sponge attached to them? All that's a good question. Sponge jus got to the sponge has to be. It's like more like a squeegee thing. Anyway, it has to be attached to them like it's a squeegee suit. Like, it's make. With a hoop in a loop connected. Wouldn't that be great? If the wearing the wiper. Why don't you? Wendy. That's a that's a million dollar idea the square the question asked him about spiders. I'm always. I don't know. But he brought that up in the newsroom, he's run into all kinds of spider. Right. And they get bit by spider. I don't think they get bit by him. He brought that up in the elevator. But he didn't ask them. He said I had this is Ryan speaking he goes, I bet half the job is just spider cleaning. They should be called spider cleaners now, I go with window washers because that sounds Dane spider. They both sound dangerous but window washers just say, oh, there's a guy really high up. That's dangerous. You should call yourself. A high rise window washer though, I would only do basement windows. I would only delivered in Shirley's apartment. Right guard. Apartments only. Got it thought it was that you wanted to see Laverne and Shirley. Fellow appealing. That's my favorite fireworks on the fourth of July to entrust. What did you get mom keeping squeegees is going to be the fourth of July ever? You were very afraid for that man yesterday. I can't even walk to the edge like to look out that window glut. No. Because when we first got up here. I it's one of those things where you walked towards the window, and you have to put your hand out to brace yourself even just to look down. Now, I'm pretty used to it. It's you haven't gotten any better. I can get a little bit closer. But as I'm approaching it, my body just slows down and goes to stay away from the windows state deep away from the windows safety. I know hotel windows. Did you ask them if they have to give people notice and warning in case, they are very that's a fantastic. I didn't ask that. But that is a curtains if you see the ropes closed the curtains, that's what it says on my bumper stickers and you're sleeping, you know. And I think that's part of the reason they go into the job to be honest with you. Yes, there watch your legal voyeurism your window on a rope. It is. That's exactly what it is. It's a lot of questions. I, but I give Ryan, you know, Ryan to professional you've, you know, he like you Steve he just he just he pelts the way with the question. Now, those guys head no time to even answer some of the questions. So you said he wanted to know if they start out a high or move up did they said, they they give us the do you want to go to a high building? Right away. Or do you want to take it easy for a little while and work your way up and what was the other question you brought up? I can't remember if I could have potentially have killed one of them by waving at them. Ryan said he was the fray desk in the bud spiders, why those spiders. That's a great question. For people that don't know. And I wouldn't know this if we weren't working on a daily basis of eighteenth floor as the summer progresses. These windows are just they're filled with spider webs, and spite and big spiders, really good sized spiders. So that's a solid question. Does do the winds hoist them up here is that how they get up here. They can't that little baby spider cannot possibly crawl all the way from the ground went up to waterspout or Don. Came the rain and watch the spider. I want them out. They know they cling better than Saran wrap. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, I think Saran wrap was inspired by spider. Can I just say Saran wrap only sticks to your hands? Not to what you're trying to wrap every time so much trouble. But I have a little trying to wrap leftovers. Oh, yeah. Put it in the freezer, and then what has store your Saran wrap in the freezer, and they say I haven't tried it yet. But I read it on Pinterest. Thank put it in your freezer. And then when you go to use it it won't stick to your hands because it's a little bit frozen. And when you get it around the bowl, that's one of the sort of and will completely seal people. That's excellent. I like to be the new halloween's hence from Holloway's Barrett. Why can't I be can I just say Kelly Clarkson loves she loves her mind. See this is the end. Love her. I have one more thing to bring up, and it's totally unrelated. But I need to ask. I know this'll sound mean-spirited. It is not mean. No, no, not at all. Do you think on days like today, where there's puddles all over the roadways that cars, go out of their way to splash, you if you're on the sidewalk now, you really don't they're the puddles are taking over the roadway so badly with this rain, we've been having all the creeks and rivers are swollen. I don't think they can avoid it. And in I was just telling Michael driving to school today. I said don't swerve into the other lane. But make sure you slow down. And then I go and don't splash. Anyone did you tell them that good? But sometimes it's unavoidable. Did you get splashed to that? I did not get splash. But it's about a three block walk from where I park to this building. Right. And I observed on the way in that cars when given a choice between the three lanes because there's three lanes that they could choose from on the roadway and the bridge to get from there to here. They almost always not always. But almost always chose the one closest to the pedestrians. The splash. Shing them throughout. And I thought they have the option they've got to other option. They're gonna turn right after the bridge. They wanna get in the correct lane. Lane despite so when you see people build you think that they are out to get you. The average person is a good person or evil per more. Good than evil you do. Yes. Okay. Why do you think someone's intensely splashing someone? No, one would honestly ever do that unless they were maybe a Firebird or z way sometimes perfectly. It is tempting I never been tempted splash. Anyone bertrand? I just watched so many cars like you see the bridge.

"Start out with traffic? Troubles this morning. There's a semi on its side cross. Westbound fort Washington way, Cincinnati police and fire trying to clean up get out of the way. It could be a while. What this means anybody to go south on seventy one trying to get to the airport. Or if you're working all the Kentucky. You're not gonna be able to go across fort Washington way to catch a southbound seventy five so what they're doing right now is diverting traffic south on seventy one four seventy one. If you're headed for the airport to seventy five go over that way. Not real clear just how long this is going to be a problem though. All lanes it the whole thing they've got blocked back like around Redding road. So if you're trying to get downtown, and you would normally get off like a third straight right now get off early at like reading or Gilbert and go into town that way, if you're going through you're gonna have to take four seventy one all the way to seventy five and comeback over that way. Or you could if you for that you could cut across north lateral something like that. It looks like it's gonna be a while though. The couple of pictures saw naked pretty clear that this semis knifed to probably going to take a little while to the clean up and get out of the way it happened. Maybe a little less than maybe an hour or so ago. So they're still in the early stages of getting it out. Do we know what the cargo is? I don't I haven't heard that yet. If somebody's coming through or give us a call for two one AWS when they first reconfigure that it was always a beer truck through the tunnel. For some reason that one cargo that was the problem there were like three of them in the first couple of months, then you're down in this canyon too. So it's kinda makes it difficult to get in and out. And we had always worried that if it was ever like a hazardous materials truck or something like that that overturned in there. You know, what firefighters would do to be able to get down in? They're not allowed to be in there in the first place. They, you know, they always talked about like rappelling down the sides and ended to try and rescue people and stuff like that. I've seen. The training. They've done in the past to make sure that they're ready to handle something like that. Okay. This is not the case though, this time it's just jackknifed semi that needs to be cleaned up. Five thirty. We'll talk about the loss of the Korean police officer who passed away late last night. The department in mourning today. More five thirty NewsRadio seven. All right. It's getting close to five eighteen right now, we've got to Jay Ratliff here in a bit talking about. TSA agents as they miss a paycheck. They're going to be looking for for money somewhere and not showing up for work, and there's already been a bit of that Seattle Tacoma airport on a seatac has had some people missing flights because TSA agents are calling in sick. Maybe it's a protest. Maybe they're actually finding somewhere else to make a living. But they're calling in sick. And it's part of the the government shutdown the partial shutdown, but it finally got to the point where people have been missing flights. So Jay has more on that. We'll get to that in less than five minutes, but four minutes from now they pause in the action. We've got just about five nineteen in the morning..

"That was like you the with that pencil or your pen, basically because we didn't make the first tent you start in the dark, and again, three hours and fifty six minutes like you can time this thing and the second successful attempt. Not in the successful mission. Was you didn't start in the dark? That's the difference. Between fall time this time of year. Right. Yeah. Why wouldn't I would want to just? Be. Yes, it's springtime. He's during the mentally light. What actually is hit or miss springtime is normally better. And that's when I did it was in June the days are longer, and because the sun is higher in the sky the wall shades itself for longer, so you basically have six hours of shade to work in which is long enough that you can climb the whole route in the shade. But also in the light whereas in the fall, which is when I bailed. The sun comes up so late, and then and then it so low that the way tracks cross the sky the wall, get on instantly. So you basically have two and a half three hours shade, which isn't enough time to climb the whole route. Which is what the star in the dark to make sure that I get through the hard part. But also when I was doing all the preparations I thought it would take me close to five hours. Maybe just because nobody's ever condo cap that fast. So it's hard to you know, like Tommy Caldwell who had prepared within the film. The two of us is a great character in the movie. Yeah, he's he's an amazing, man. Yes. He's awesome. But you know, he's been inspiration from childhood like Tom is. No, those old thing magazine covers of. Yeah. He said like his kid phase exactly the two of us had climbed that route together and six and a half hours previously. And that was that had been the speed record on the route. So we kind of thought that six and a half seen pretty fast. So then when you're doing the planning, I definitely didn't think that I was going to go sub for because that's, but it's really hard to know what difference it'll make when you take the rope way because there's just wait wait on you. You move. More quickly. And that's so awesome. Yeah. I mean, that's kind of the nature anytime you're doing something that hasn't been done. It's hard to into space. I mean, this is the only time in the film. They showed you running into somebody so to speak, but you you're going on in this fucking guy in a unicorn outfit is is come on. How by Eric on el-saad free thing in in a full body unicorn outfit has one of those free things. So actually, but that has that was did they know you were coming. No, no, no it's random because you know, so. So so it's like a unicorn feet. It's funny CHAI director loves the unicorn thing and every time we do CUNY together. She's like oh the unicorn the unicorn feet exactly exemplary corn. Thank you. She's like is Alex the unicorn or is there an actual unicorn. And then there was a eunuch Orangi. So fire has to be somebody somebody plows just unicorn no, no serendipity, then why is on L cap with the unicorn suit. So I pass three parties that morning. So they were the third party that I passed and the other two parties, we're just normal. You know, actually, the lower parties parties at three so there are three guys together on ledges. And I mean, it's totally normal for people to be camping on cap and in a bunch of the preparation shots where I'm like rappelling on the wall to work on sections. You can see other people's ropes all over and like things going on because I mean, okay. I mean, that's the media public land. We can all just drive in there and climb. I mean, it's seventy is the climbing unregulated you just show up, and you do things so on any given day there's dozens of parties all over. These people must have the unicorn the other people must like holy shit. You can you can a day. Like, we saw him I met I've met a couple of them later at some of the foam events who were like, oh, I was on this ledge when he passed and asked a couple of I'm like, oh, you know, how long did you watch? Or you know, because in some ways it's like, oh, this is amazing. This feat is happening while we're up here..

"Hey, brainstorm listeners today I wanted to tell you about the new podcast the brink in which hosts aerial Casten. Donovan Strickland shared the stories of entrepreneurs who took a bold step without really, knowing if solid ground would be on the other side, tune into learn how Walt Disney bet his company and his house on the world's first feature length cartoon, and how a refugee from Vietnam turned a door to door business into a chili sauce empire every week. The brink will bring you new stories of the trials and triumphs of people who didn't let adversity stop their dreams because sometimes things just don't go your way. But what really matters are the choices you make when the odds are against you. You can listen and subscribe to the brink on apple podcasts, I heart radio app or wherever you listen to podcasts. Welcome to bring stuff from how stuff works. Hey, brain, Steph Lauryn Boko bomb here, even if you're not tobacco user, you're probably familiar with e cigarettes from their aggressive marketing campaigns and popularity with former smokers there, the electronic battery powered devices that heat a fluid aka liquid or vape juice to create an aerosol that's inhaled in place of the smoke that conventional cigarettes produced by burning tobacco leaves these fluids can contain any number of compounds to create the puffs of aerosol their flavors and their effects, including nicotine, the active ingredient in tobacco east. Cigarettes are rising in popularity with ten point eight million adult users in the US as of two thousand eighteen part of the attraction may be that they're perceived as being less hazards to the health then conventional smoking since users don't receive the cancer causing tar found in conventional cigarettes and two that the allure of the sweet tasting flavorings available. For addition to the liquid and people such as US food and Drug administration Commissioner, Dr Scott Gottlieb, where he it may be all too. Appealing to youthful users. But that pleasant taste may have a downside. Researchers say in a study published in October of two thousand eighteen in the journal nicotine and tobacco research. Scientists from Duke and Yale universities found that chemical flavorings for vanilla cherry citrus. Cinnamon interacted with solvents such as propylene glycol and glacier, all in the illiquid forming new compounds called avatars, which can trigger irritation and inflammation when inhaled according to the Duke medicine press release the interaction occurs. Even before the liquid is heated. We spoke with Hannah Arendt repel a post doctoral associate at the yield tobacco center of regulatory science. And a co author of the study he said, we simply don't know what long-term effects these compounds and many other compounds in east cigarette liquid have on the Airways, many of the additives to liquids have G R A S status, which means generally regarded as safe, but that's based on ingestion and on d'ormal or skin exposure. There isn't much knowledge about what these compounds. Might do in the Airways and lungs, and that's true for all vapors young and old earth. Rappel added that scientists already know that further reactions take place during the heating step of vaping. All of this means that the initial list of ingredients for illiquid, quote is likely different from the final illiquid composition, which in turn is different. From what the user is exposed to in the generated aerosol, how that might affect vapors bodies isn't yet clear, but the researchers say that the irritant compounds will persist in the body for some time after a user vapes. Overtime that mild irritation could trigger the immune system and create an inflammatory response in your body. Which isn't a good thing for anyone. But especially for users with conditions like asthma and repel notes that the researchers have other concerns as well. He said if this reaction can take place that creates a more irritating compound or possibly more toxic. What other reactions can take place that might cause increased risk for users. We simply don't know I would add that term effects of aping on the air. As and the whole body are generally unknown, given how young these devices are independent of the final composition of illiquid. Abut the fact that these more irritating compounds form is certainly not reassuring in that regard. We also spoke by Email with Robert strongin, a professor of organic chemistry at Portland state university. Who was not connected with the Duke Yale study, he said that just as users aren't aware of these new chemicals being created an illiquid scientists similarly don't know much about the effect of those chemicals on the body quote. We know very little or nothing about the flavoring additives or even much about the solvents as far as their inhalation. Toxicity especially as chronically used in e cigarettes, a chemical safer ingestion are not necessarily safe for inhalation inhaled, organic solvents and flavorings bypass processing by these stomach and liver. Lung tissue is different. Just because we can eat flavor molecules doesn't mean at all that it's okay to inhale them. A repel says that more research is needed. On the chemical changes in illiquid 's and what health effects they may have a which will be a challenge CENA's how there are an estimated seven thousand flavors or more on the market right now. And that market is growing. Today's episode was written by Patrick j tiger and produced by Tyler claim for more on this and lots of other health, topics. Visit our home planet has two forks dot com.
