Afghanistan: One Year After the Complete Biden Disaster

"A year ago, we were in the process of watching Afghanistan fall. This was August time frame last year. The Biden administration had made their faithful decision to say we're going to have all of our troops out by September 11th, 2021. They wanted to have the symbolic political victory of being able to remove troops, you know, 20 years after the terrorist attacks on 9 11 in New York in Washington, this was their political C I did something that Donald Trump didn't do. I got us finally out of Afghanistan. I've done what I promised to do. The problem was is they made no real conditions on how they were going to get out of Afghanistan. Thus leading a vacuum in which it was seen by many in the Defense Department, there's many personnel on the ground saying, look, if you remove these troops, the way you're removing them with no conditions, and then you're moving yourself out of magro air base, you're moving back to Kabul. The issue was that the Taliban was going to take over and they took over at a very rapid pace, and this was predicted by many in the time that this was going on. So in understanding that issue, I've said and made the case many times at the very problem with the Biden administration in their underlying problems with how they see their support. And why do they see their support in the low 30s? And why they see the disapproval right in over 60. You can take in inflation, you can take in the economic we have a gas process food process, the baby formula shortage, whatever you want to throw it on top of this. And you can understand why Americans are very frustrated, both Democrats and Republicans with the administration.

The Top 10 Cities With Emerging Housing Markets

"The number one city for emerging housing markets yesterday. Elkhart goshen in Indiana. Number two, Burlington, North Carolina. Number three, Johnson City, Tennessee, number four. Fort Wayne Indiana, Indiana doing very well in this study. Number 5, billings Montana. It comes with a snow shovel from Andrew and Todd when you buy a house there. Raleigh, North Carolina kind of makes sense to me. That's number 6. Rapid City South Dakota is number 7. It felt a little bit in the rankings every year, but still that people are moving to Rapid City because it's affordable. North, port, Sarasota, Bradenton, Florida, is an 8th place. Again, we're talking about low cost states, low tax states. Number 9 to pick up Kansas. To pick a Kansas and rounding out the top ten improbably the salia Porterville. Dwayne is looking at me like, this hell yeah, Porterville? Yeah. You ever been to Visalia? I'm not sure that that would be my recommendation to anyone moving out of favor. For about 5 minutes.

Joe Biden: We're Not Going to Be in a Recession

"Biden was asked about it yesterday. By Peter doocy from Fox News. Mister president, we're getting GDP numbers on Thursday. How worried should Americans be that we could be in a recession? We're not coming in a recession. And in my view, the employment rate is still one of the lowest we've had in history. It's in the 3.6 area. We still find ourselves with people investing. My hope is we go from this rapid growth to a steady growth and so she will see some coming down. Feel better now? Are you struggling to buy groceries this week? Will Joe Biden says, we're not going to be in any recession. Recession for smashing. We're not in anywhere to come on. Calm down. Don't worry, be happy. The Democrats are in control.

Dr. Mark McDonald Explains the Dark Effects Lockdowns Have on Children

"There's something deeply troubling happening in America. We have the most depressed, suicidal, alcohol addicted, generation, in history. Why is this happening? Did we do this to ourselves? Well, with us to help unpack and explore that topic and we don't have enough time to do it, but enough to get started is a great American patriot doctor Mark McDonald, doctor welcome back to the program. Good to be back, Charlie. So doctor, let me ask you from a psychological perspective. A lot of parents are wondering, now that the lockdowns are over and their kids are back into the flow, why are they now more depressed than ever? What's your answer to that? Well, my answer to that is, you know, I've been seeing children for ten, 12 years now in private practice. And in the last two and a half, I have never, ever seen such a rapid precipitous decline in mental health, anxiety, depression, suicidality, two children and my practice died during the lockdowns, both from fentanyl overdoses in their homes. I also see incredibly huge rapid increases in drug use, especially marijuana, which as anyone who's been listening to news lately has heard, is finally now starting to get it to do as a cause of significant psychotic breaks and executive functioning problems in young people. It should have happened years ago and finally it's now being heard. The reason why we still have problems, even after these lockdowns are over is that we haven't actually addressed the fundamental problem. And the cause of this mental health collapse. And in my view, it has a lot to do with alienation, particularly young men and young boys. We have not supported strengthened and encouraged boys to become men to explore, to grow, to challenge, to accomplish. We have essentially been telling them now for years and years that they are the cause of every problem and society that they are rapists that they are misogynists, that they're the patriarchy. And so what you see, and you saw this just a few days ago on the July 4th shooting, as you see a very disturbed young man, you can tell just by looking at his face, his hair has gone to expression. He's confused. He's wearing a skirt he wants to be a transgender girl. These boys don't have a place. They don't have a sense of purpose. They don't understand what their identity or their meaning is. And so they're leaving now this locked down period where they've been sitting in front of screens playing games and watching porn, not going to school, not being tested with reality. And they are completely at a

I got up very early and rally the troops and told everybody that in western Michigan, we need to put our forces together to go get a certain person elected by the name of Peter Meyer. Now mind you, I don't know why we endorsed Peter Meyer largely because I thought it was a flip district or something like that, a way to kind of gain ground. "Give us the update from the anchorage summit to today, have things improved with regards to U.S. Sino relations. Are they static? Have they gotten worse? Give us an update, Gordon. They've gotten much worse. And the reason is that the Chinese have become much more aggressive. From anchorage, which was March of last year, we have gotten a series of propaganda blasts from Beijing around the fall of Afghanistan in August, where they're very clear and they're very open about it. And over the last couple of weeks, we have heard the Chinese say things and we've heard the and we've seen the Chinese do things which show utter disrespect for the United States. So we're at a point where deterrence is broken down and this is exceedingly dangerous. Perhaps the most dangerous times in our lives. And you know, people will look back at the Cuban missile crisis of 1962 or the checkpoint Charlie crisis of 1961 and say those look more dangerous. And yes, they did. But we also know now from the archives that both Kennedy and khrushchev knew that they would never start a nuclear exchange. Lots to discuss, not necessarily including backyard generator, but we've got actually a, we've got to generate our question of our own today, which is, what does this economy generating? Is it going to, is it going to continue to generate rapid growth as Janet Yellen promised yesterday? Or as a recession coming as a previous democratic grocery secretary promise. Now, you've got really two different really two very different looks at this coming to you from democratic press secretary treasury secretaries. Let's take a listen to Janet Yellen yesterday talking about what her outlook is on the economy. And the economy to slow, it's been growing at a very rapid rate as the economy is the labor market is recovered and we've reached full employment. Well, I'm not exactly sure how much you can squeeze into that 12 second clip. So that's not correct. First off, we haven't reached full employment. I mean, honestly, this is just math. All you have to do is go to the bureau of labor statistics and take a look at the numbers and you'll know that we haven't reached full employment just on a static basis. We are about 900,000 jobs short of where we started in February 2020.

Trace Gallagher: The Fed Is Running Scared With Rising Inflation

"Here's Fox News channel's trace Gallagher, no relation, and his reporting just yesterday. The definition of a bear market is when an index drops more than 20% from a recent high. Today, the S&P 500 fell 3.9%, it's now down 22% for the year and the bears are roaming. In fact, of the 500 components that make up the S&P 500, 495 of them were down today. So how long does a bear market last unknown? But during the Great Recession, more than a decade ago, it lasted 517 days. Today's drop is all because the inflation report came in higher and hotter than expected and to slow down inflation and bring down sky high prices. The fed is talking about raising interest rates in rapid succession, meaning by the end of the year, rates could jump by 2.5%. The highest increase since the mid 1990s. And that is an indication. The fed is running scared because raising rates ends up costing jobs and causing

"In addition, a 2017 city traffic stop study commissioned at the recommendation of activists found that in 2015, black drivers were twice as likely to be pulled over than other drivers. A subsequent traffic study was planned, but delayed by the pandemic, Thompson Jenkins, who is black, says. The results of a Michigan department of civil rights investigation into the department, which began in 2019, have never been made public. John E Johnson junior, director of the Michigan department of civil rights, who is black, told time in an email that the department didn't have the resources or staffing that would have been needed to thoroughly investigate the department's patterns and practice. The agency is currently working on 29 individual complaints of discrimination. The department in the past and again in the wake of this tragedy, he said, has asked the U.S. Department of Justice and the office of the Michigan attorney general to look into the matter. Johnson said he could not comment directly on the Liu ya shooting because state police are still investigating. And then there are the individual day to today experiences that haunt the minds of some Grand Rapids residents. Not only those who experience them directly. There was a 2017 incident in which an 11 year old black girl was confronted outside her home by officers with guns drawn, who were searching for her aunt. The girl was handcuffed and put in a police cruiser as she and her mother pleaded with officers. The officers were not disciplined, but in 2018, activists successfully pushed for a policy change, guiding police interactions with children. The rule was named in honor of the girl, who subsequently died of COVID-19 in 2020 at the age of 14. In 2019, a Latino veteran, a U.S. citizen with PTSD, was reported to ice after an arrest. The man was put on a path to deportation until a lawyer hired by his family was able to intervene. The department agreed to pay the man a $190,000 settlement. In 2021, a black man missed his mother in law's wake after police pulled their weapons on him while he was waiting in a driveway believing him to be a different man, one who had been wearing different clothing who had just pulled a gun on a group of people. And Brandon Davis of the oversight office keeps one such incident in his mind, too. He learned via social media about a march incident in which an officer appears on tape repeatedly punching a man in the head during an arrest. However, Davis says it's important to note that those issues occurred under previous police chiefs. He believes that, despite activists frustrations with past experiences and improved relationship between the GRP and black citizens is still possible. Pain the recently retired chief who rose through the ranks of the grp could not be reached for comment. In interviews before his departure, he described community policing as one of his chief priorities, as well as the work of improving police community relations. Police he said at the time had done work to be proud of, but had also contributed to systemic racism. In 2020, he was one of a smattering of police chiefs across the country who took a knee during protests after the death of George Floyd. Past administrations were not as open, Davis says, and I don't say that to speak disparagingly about anyone. But our new chief has expressed a much greater commitment to providing information and I believe.

About an hour's drive from the shores of Lake Michigan. In fact, his role at the office of oversight and public accountability wouldn't exist if it weren't for the prodding of local activists and a city manager also black who have spent years demanding the Grand Rapids police department, abandoned programs and practices that have been shown to target black and Latino residents in extreme ways. This is a place where funding levels for the police department are written right into the city charter, where for nearly a decade, every police cruiser has been outfitted with colt M4 semi-automatic rifles. When Grand Rapids first black police chief retired earlier this year and was replaced by Eric winstrup and experienced officer from Chicago, who is white. Few would have predicted that things might have been about to change. After all, activists and officials had been pushing for reform for years and despite repeated rounds of meetings and debates, have felt stymied at every turn. "Blessing send a message and then obviously get a win and effectively ended the bob bradley tenure with a goal contribution in a win on sunday in mark anthony case so i guess we get into the actual tactics nuts in the bolts of it mark l. Afc's been mostly playing back five in that. I think this is a fairly predictable team albeit not saying that. That means that it's going to be easy. You stop cristian arango for the most part you stop this team offensively. They've got some good and some good species and a balanced midfield amid field. That i think the colorado rapids are capable of dominating if the rapids win the battle in the midfield their back line could be had and if and controlling the midfield limit these service to arango than i think they're gonna be just okay. They for the most part bente lot but did not break against gustav a. I think that'll be a good representation of what's l. Afc might look on the counter attack. Obviously didn't let didn't let Who am i thinking. Freddy montero have much of that one hetero opportunity so this is going to be a good. It's going to be a good test. Given the way other teams recently come the dsp and played colorado. I also think it could be a good setup in terms of what they would expect against an ourselves against the minnesota united against the l. Afc ornella galaxy. Excuse me in that first. Round playoff game and so with that mark..

"They didn't really have any idea. How long used gonna be out and just kept going on and on and on. And that's the thing for a sports fans who watched hamstring injuries. It's really really common right like when a guy tears. Acl you're like. Oh it's going to be months like you know Jordan morris came back just yesterday and jordan. Moore's came back after ten months and that is pretty much the the amount of time it takes. You know you need to have your meniscus scoped out. It'll be for eight weeks and that's fairly normal a guy pulls his hamstring. You've no idea whether he's going to be back in in next week. Or if it's gonna be like an all season long trouble any like you know comes back three weeks from now plays a little bit pulls up Comes out for another month. Comes back on pulls up. Like and that's the problem with fellas that he's their best player. He's electric player. He's the most important player and not only has he been injured but he's been injured in such a way that they were kind of unsure as to what was going on. I think mix that with all the things you said about bob bradley. I had heard that. Bob bradley was on his way out. I had not heard that he was on his way to toronto. Matt is dropping knowledge on his podcast. Ladies and gentlemen you do not need other. Mls podcasts you just need holding the high line But like yeah. That's all that's all the things i have to say about llc. I didn't i don't read them as as pathetic as you do you know. I've been looking mostly focused on. You know what people need to do to get into the playoffs. And i was just thinking like oh they they can do it. They can get into the playoffs. Of course i say that While also clicking on the updated mls scores because as we speak. They are playing against vancouver during the fifty fifth. Minute is one to one by the time you get this podcast. You'll know the result of that match but like l. Afc is in a position where they can still qualify for the playoffs. So able lot to play for the rapids. Have a lot to play for in that they could maybe sorta kinda possibly win the western conference And they could leapfrog to second which is like hainan ice but like i don't know that it has the same level of urgency as l. Afc so i actually think that l. afc might come into this one with a lot of pardon the expression piss and vinegar. Yeah so i think. I i guess you know. I apologize. Marxism probably given by know bob. Bradley listens to this. That i'm giving him in his team. You know bulletin board material for this coming sunday by already pronouncing them dead on arrival at dnc. because diogo. rossi's gone. Bob rally tomorrow on sunday sunday. He's gonna lose his game and then monday toronto sees going to tweet out the press. Release saying that. He's been hired as their new head coach in everything. And then obviously you know. I think it's i think it's a fair question. Mark whether or not carlos velez back. So i think to your point. I don't know how much the like the main core of this team that had success. You know that was an expansion team that made the playoffs in. Its first year that just two years ago won the supporters shield first trophy in club history. Set the record for points. Total basically had dislike had their ceasing. Completely derail the twenty twenty because of covert and carlos vela couldn't make it to the.

"I think. Rl lassiter has had all the chances in major league soccer to prove that he's at that level or a striker and he has proved he is not at that level and that is really harsh coming from a guy who doesn't watch who hasn't washed every minute of the kids career but you know in the couple years that he was with galaxy. He couldn't hang out with them. He hasn't looked particularly good for one of the worst teams in major league soccer I think It's time to to let it go mark. I can't believe neither of brought this up. We need to talk about dominic. Balji do now has four goals in three starts in eleven appearances since returning to colorado rapids. He's done that all in three hundred seven minutes. And if i'm not mistaken every single one of his goals had been consequential because you had the goal against san jose which was the winner in one match. He had the first goal in the one. One draw a seattle. He had i believe it was the match-winner 'cause i think it was the first goal against portland timbers as well and then obviously he had the only goal any game winner on sunday well so dombrowski scoring three game winning goals another goal to help the colorado rapid get a point. He's been extremely efficient in those shots. Something that he's been much for for the colorado rapids if we're talking about eleven shots six on target and then four of them for goals on. He's been effective in terms of the lincoln play. He's been good on set pieces. I asked him about that a couple of weeks ago. And he said he'd worked with sharpie. Obviously then he went away from the club. The teams gotten better. He's been integrated into that evolving system spend effective and gotten chances and score goals on set pieces. I think mark the only area where i'm really convinced rubio would be an improvement. Is that diego rubio. Likes to work the referees in very calm caffeine and that can be effective in a playoff game. And i'd say diego rubio when fully healthy is a more mobile better presser defendants antagonist than dominic body. Is i think that is something that athletically capable of doing. We just haven't necessarily seen it and that might just be a function of that. Hasn't been what the games that he's played in have called him for mark. Are we at the point where we can comfortably say in a must win. Game like a playoff game. Dominic botchy should be the starting center forward for the colorado rapids. No we are not there and there are several reasons for that one is that Diego rubio up top By himself is a possibility with Like a four three three with rapids views. But it's been a while and it'll depend on how they wanna come out in the final or they will go to like a five to three with to kind of wing players. So like that's the thing that robin frazier is.

"As are is there as well and then it was michael barr olsen dodgy forming a striker partnership up top and then we did see a rare. Start from eunice nominally. Back from knee injury. keegan rosen and killing. A kosta. were both listed as injured for the two games this past week. A couple of these chances. Maybe this may be the most boring first-half i've seen all season from the pids mark. Twenty first met yet. A nice say by yarbrough on rodriguez estimates had a decent shot in the thirty third from outside the box. That was parried away. By the backup goalkeeper nelson ultimately a goal completely against the run. A play and really surprised me the camera angle on. Espn plus didn't even catch up to it in the fifty eight minute rapids getting it. Forward getting the ball in tight spaces with defenders converging around him and ultimately the guy that passes to he passes the dedom- balji off His foot takes a touch to ultimately control the ball and set it up and he just slots the ball and perfectly placed just spatial awareness of the ball coming in where he needed to put it to score and where he needed to control it. In order to set up the shot a proper strikers goal and that was ultimately enough in a game that really had nothing else to talk about Mark what was your good thing. From this past sunday in which the colorado rapids made the houston dynamo ye their last hough. I guess just getting the point on the road. This is a team that didn't use to go into opposing teams and play tightly enough to earn the draw even So the fact that we would go in and keep it tight and get. The win is big i. It was interesting. Because i agree with you. This game was boring. And yet i did a very deep dive old school back pass on it. That went out today. And that meant that. I watched the whole game twice effectively and i did a bunch of video breakdown of what i saw..

"He knew i kind of passively asked him to start off the call he felt better about the game having slept on it for a day or two and you said he you know he. He didn't even really feel that bad about it. You know he wasn't even you know. He was happy with the he was happy with the performance and given the circumstances to the point where he you know he wasn't even matt. You throw your hand up and you say we play the supporters shield champion on short rest in mid-week game that we were always going to lose and we rotate the squad. And the fact is we were converting one of our half chances or somebody getting step two on page on cannon potentially getting out there with a normal drawn. You know look drew more equipped himself. Well yes you cleaned. The rapids are a little bit more organized from defensive shape standpoint on a couple of those plays where buca buchanan. He'll a half look. i think. Yeah marginally you know. Is the team a little bit. Better in terms of breakout play. Offensively going down the right. Flank heating rosen berry in a wingback position as opposed to stephen beta. Sure maybe You know they had a number of opportunities in terms of set-piece opportunities in this game. I certainly think that there's more venom in their service than they get better chances off of that. If jack prices there. I certainly think jack price would multiply on the improvement in their defensive shape and being able to deal with ben but not break against the new england counterattack. If it's price in wilson in there. So i'm looking at this game mark. Positively where i look at this. This is absolutely a nil nil or one one. Dr robin fraser chooses to play his preferred. Starting eleven in this one. I think michael borrows would have given them a lot. More to think about defensively. Certain o'brien galvin as well but look you went in. You rotated the squad heavily. Because he knew you were going to focus on the houston game. That was the game that you needed to win. If you rotated the squad to the point where you had guys who were healthy enough so you get the win against houston. I was okay with the decision making going into it. I was okay with the performance. And in that i can't really complain too much about the result. I guess just another thing really harp on mark is this is still a team than granted the main finishers now will get tuna minute with don dodgy getting back on the scoresheet andrea. She kinko bassett. Both had good opportunities in the game borrows as well and i think this game while on the whole of it or for long stretches you could say were the rapids clearly. The lesser team in were they playing a little bit like the smaller club. Maybe it was clearly obvious who the better team was the team. That was dictating the play a little bit more and i always felt inevitably like new england was going to get a result in this game at no point. Did i truly feel that the rapids. We're going to threaten them and actually get the equalizing goal and in that i think both the whole that ninety minutes and in that microcosm i pointed out in the seventy four th minute where bassett has another opportunity doesn't do anything with it. New england goes down and scores the match winning goal that just that continues to show that this game can be a game of moments and find margins and when the rapids play against the top teams in mls typically at least historically throughout the season they had not always come up in those moments in typically their opponent has and i think new england is a very good parallel for seattle sounders sporting kansas city..

"On forty three points and they beat them on goal differential. So there's so much to be looking at I'm glad that this thing exists. I'm glad that we're not looking at this as a regular. Mls regained where. Maybe there's a spanish language nationally televised or twitter game on friday. It's the usual break-up that you have out today maybe a couple matinee games for the most part teams playing in their home. Markets playing at seven pm local time on saturday and then scattered games for the national televised broadcast. Give me all the chaos. Have me triple screen. Watching the only thing that i don't like about this day. Marcus a member of the media is the fact that if i'm physically at the game can't be like quad. Boxing tanakh complain as much as i could about the press box wifi exploring its park. It is not set up for me to have two laptops in my phone in all of them streaming the three or four games that could be relevant for the rapids. but let's get into it mark We finally finished out this. Hella stretch for the kids in which they played five games in sixteen days including back-to-back digi ws. We'll be reviewing that listeners. This past wednesday at gillette stadium in foxborough massachusetts. The revolution was not televised. And there were no highlights on the eleven o'clock news to speak up because the rapids did not score lots and lots of squad rotation from robin frazier in this one. We saw drew more. Get a very rare. Start on the back. Line as danny wilson. And jack price both got rotated lucas estevez was back in at the fullback position. Steven beta sure. Got a start on yet. Calling warner and cold. Basset in the midfield nicholas mosquitoes. Starting and then diego rubio and andre cheeky as well up cop for the most part a first choice. Line-up from bruce arena's revolution matt turner and goal andrew. Farrell and henry kessler anchoring. The back line matt polster in the midfield and then the front three designated player of he'll go buca were top station on buchanan with the only goal in this one no victory played in the right midfield position and ultimately mark. This was the victory that gave new england. The points record in. Mls they went from seventy points with the win to seventy three points to jump over. Bob bradley's l. a. C team which finished on seventy two points little bit of debate about the quality of schedule given the Reduced to mount of conference of non conference play that we saw relative to twenty nineteen mark. Obviously i would say. This year's eastern conference was not as strong as that year's western conference. Obviously if you look at the goal difference between these two teams is it a is it a marker of a team that you're able to blow out teams that have a plus forty goal differential or. Is that a mark of good team that you win a lot of games. One nil a mark a hallmark that has been typical of bruce arena's very very strong man in any case matt turner with the i really good save in the fourth minute. Off of co bassett with a nice little bending ball going inside the backpost that turner was able to save yet. Bowen buchanan getting a lotta sniffs throughout the first half mark colorado. I think equip themselves well in terms of bending a lot but not breaking but definitely new. England had more the ball. They had more chances. It was just a matter of whether or not they were going to convert them. Andre yoshiki flips very good opportunity in the forty eight. Th minute to open up the first half and then. Henry kessler denied on the doorstep with a fantastic lake. Save on the corner. Bob william yarbrough ultimately mark. I think the The seventy four th minute was a microcosm of the game because you had rapids going forward..

"And there's some people in the industry that gave me a good foot up the endorsements Some of them. You people don't even remember anymore stan. Weinstein there was bob grows. He ended up in a couple of people. So end up selling their financial newsletters to us over the years chuck allman who was very well respected and started Gsa fund and stuff. He sold us His newsletter when he retired from it stan weinstein and marty's y very active at that time mark. What i what. I appreciate about mardi swag for for those of you who are old enough for or analysts who have gone back and read about mardi so he used a unique approach that made sense to me in was a combination of technical analysis and monetary analysis. Everyone i think a lot of people learned young. The old adage don't never fight the fed that came from marty right and barney's waikato started developing monetary indicators at that time and attract interest rates track fed liquidity and so. We took a natural inclination to go back and look that same thing and the irony. We stayed we stayed good friends. We became friends over the years. We spoke at conferences together but He was he was my senior and he was also my mentor in some long distance And yet in one thousand nine hundred ninety eight at this was at the height of the tech bubble. He was Managing only abbas was avatar associates. Large money mansur in new york and he called me up and he said jim. We're having trouble selling managing risk. And he said. I want you to come back and do a presentation to my team on what you're doing in selling managing risk the importance of managing risk. So i went back and did a presentation to to marty's key technical team at the time i think lizanne. Saunders who is the chief market technician with With schwab i think was there at the time too. So but The late ninety s was was a struggle for defensive safety. I money managers because one thing that that happened at the time and this is very characteristic looking back at historical bubbles is if you end up with evaluation bubble a couple of things number one it's never identified with certainty until aftermath in deflate secondly those inside the bubble of you know it's invisible to them and don't try to get in an argument because you're going to lose because the market's going keep going higher you're and you're wrong and tell it unwinds so The the difference between a just a highly overvalued market and a bubble is a subtle one that is really only defined in the aftermath looking back and saying you know how far it fell afterwards. Of course when the nasdaq fell for eighty percent as a result of the washout italy ninety. Yup anyone who looks back and says yeah. It was a tech bubble. What they tend to forget is the snp also lost forty eight percent right. That was a big bear market for. If you weren't prepared in if fewer defensive for well clearly you have a focus on risk management. And in this day in age of i call it the passive investing. Your methodology seems like a deeply contrarian thing like you said managing risk right now is not a popular thing. It's it's difficult sales pitch for people you know. I just put my money on my money in the stock market. And sp five hundred. And i don't just chase or just chase the latest talk investment and you see this in the trading out there you see it the speculation. All of a sudden you'll end up with a day when all the blue chip index is down in the nasdaq's up one and a half percent. It's like you know everyone stampeding into the same stocks it. It makes me deep more nervous about today because we do have. We're in the ninety fifth plus percentile in almost any in terms of valuation. In almost any way you look at this market. This is a very expensive market. That doesn't mean that we've seen the high. I don't necessarily think we have But it does mean that if you're going to invest you need to be careful And that means be selective dunk go after the maximum returns. And that's a message that doesn't sell today a we're doing very very well. Just crossed one point. Six billion on our money management side the fm or stack financial management. That we thousand nineteen four the research side on the investec side. we basically. You're focusing on the facts. Just the facts. And what are they telling us about this. Market right and and That's the interesting part. That's what we did in the late nineties to get through the tech bubble We were too defensive too early we were recommending to high of cash. Because we didn't know how to play in the bubble and and that's when we did a lot of our historical research we bought all i. We bought all the all. The books. mania panics crashes and the great crash and and the the gogo fund era and we learned about all of these past peak areas the psychology what carried it and and it really tied in with our technical analysis time it really identifying the the warning flags very often are the same in terms of psychology in terms of breath in terms of leadership. And and they're not always all present but most of them are and what you have to try to watch for them and train yourself to be disciplined to avoid the emotions and stay with you. Know what what your technical gut is telling you. And so i want to dig into some of these indicators specifically but first of all before we get into any of the specific indicators themselves where did you find a lot of these things in. How did you test them. I guess i'm curious to know how to you Separate the valuable ones from the ones you ignore. And how do you synthesize synthesize the indicators into an overall investment framework. Well there's there's several ways you can look at indicators and you'll see a lot of these things tossed out like As i said you'll see point fail-safe fibonacci series or elliott wave. And you'll see you know volume analysis and stuff. I ironically one of the better technicians back in the early nineteen eighties was joe grandville. Who ended up know basically failing miserable miserably in in the bull market of nineteen eighty two. Because we took win out we took off in what would turn out to be the greatest bull market in decades and he stayed bearish and part of the reason. He did that as he did. Not pay attention to his own tools. His on balance volume is net field trend and stuff but we looked to those tools. And we start okay. What how is this working right. How's that working wrong. And how do we want to look at it so And one of the books that we really liked it at the time was stock market logic you can still buy it out there on amazon and reprint slack in his thirty four reprint from from a norm fosback but It basically add has. This has all these chapters and each one looks at different little different tools Young short sales of advanced decline ratio and stuff. And so we would look at those. Let me say okay. What do we want to get in an analyze and let's go back and look at what these different tools were saying if we get the data and run them through the major peaks in other words. I didn't go back and studied the bull markets. It's easy to investable right. I wanted to study the bear markets in particularly the market topping process before the bear market. How would you know how you determine that you should be building a more defensive cash reserve and something. I learned a front nine expert there from my experience in seventy three seventy four and and as we ran the research firm in nineteen eighty foreword because we have over forty years with investec research. Your i i learned. Never get frantic about the market. Never get panicked. You know that you're that you're being left behind profit opportunities always come around to get right and and what you want to do is number one. Make sure that you have the cash available.

"One side or maybe back to the Scottish Premier Timer League. We could say similar things Tommy Smith with them having to make a decision to either restructurings contracts having take lower pay or just take into his option. You you know. There's two or three really big questions that are going to determine their who the starting centerback czar for the Colorado rapids. where I think Anthony Hudson and was maybe moving more pieces? They were less critical questions or that was diffused out amongst the number of decisions that they were making. You know whether or not the team backs law brings backlog Guba car. That's probably the biggest non DP related question of this season. That is the what future. That's the of the Edgar Castio of of last year. If you ask me and then I think the other. I don't think we're going to see a lot of movement in terms of the midfield. There's maybe one or two players or maybe pick up somebody else to help out with that. I think you know. The Forward Corps for the most part is structured in there if we do see a changing of personnel that is going to be the rapids having moving from position of strength to get something also. I'm not saying that I've heard this. I'm not saying that. I think this would happen. But you know I think right now on the open market I think the rapids wanted to move somebody to a lower level level. If suddenly he would become available. I think the rapids could move any one of their four record players and get something really really good on return not saying that they should do that but but if suddenly somebody comes up and wants a million wants to give you a million dollars for a Chi- Kamara that's at least that's a conversation that at least like Porsche. Pick up the phone and they should hear out whatever that party is and the rapids are going to get a good exchange of value in there. So I don't think we're GONNA see a lot of change in the forwards we could see a little bit of moving in the midfield position room personnel. All but I think Mo- like it's pretty set that right now. Robin Frazier has a starting eleven. That he's confident in. I think there's some depth options on the backline some depth corruptions in midfield. That need to be revisited. But what are they doing with us to Santa back roles with two players who are the incumbents with physicians were they doing with potentially the one under the two. PS that they're gonNA sign in January to wait for the right time in the summer. Is Robin Fraser. Think they've in. Needham is a better for them to spend that allocation money elsewhere. Those are probably the two biggest biggest questions for the two thousand twenty season. I don't think it's a big question in terms of goalkeeper. Just because I think there's an obvious answer but at some point there has to be a conversation of. Hey Robin you still like clinic goalkeeper. We're good so there's fewer questions to be asked. I think there's going to be less turnover in terms of number of faces from twenty seventeen. Eighteen to twenty eight eighteen as there will have been from twenty nine thousand two twenty twenty. But there's going to be way more critical decisions and if the rapids. Get those two DP slots.

"JANAKA bully to be the one thing that was consistent of just if the defense can like give up less than two goals a game on the team consistently consistently got the ball the kyw Kamara they are going to be able to score. And maybe kind of the big thing that at least I noticed marker You know I had a conversation with a lowery from the athletic On twitter. GM's maybe a couple of months ago when he was writing something about frazier incase seed is the one thing that was kind of consistent for me in the tactical approach approach to that Hudson hat. And this I think is true whether it was the three five two five three two hybrid or the or the four four two diamond as well as is just he could not get the midfield on the same page and the midfield was unable to transition from defense to attack consistently. So you know if if you take the Orlando game for example it was called Basset counter cost to a lesser extent Jack Price. They had games where they were capable of supporting. The offense ends with numbers with service to Kai Kamara whether it was the rubio the other wingers in the other forward but then they completely let the defense out to dry other than jack price being and mostly we as defensive register role there was never any consistency or any good quality from Hudson either in twenty eighteen or in those first ten games. Where are the midfield? Had a coherent idea what they were supposed to do or is able to play in transition. I remember writing a long tactical master's thesis effectively on on this the last word on soccer. Basically saying that the diamond wasn't really a diamond and the transition shape was obvious but not good in any way shape or form that ultimately undid this team team in games where they had a chance to get a result like at Orlando like DC united. You know Chicago Fire Of all teams completely tore them apart and then the one time that he actually south defensively notes against land united and then maybe the one thing that I remember from that we can mark. I did not watch that game. 'cause that's the weekend that I was in England and then basically every every single game after. That was a joke of which have I seen in person get more wins this season Fulham being one. Oh with a one in over Cardiff city or however many rapids home games. That had been at that point because it wasn't until may twenty fifth that the rapids actually get their first home win. And and that was the second game of a seven game unbeaten streak in the real start of the conor Casey. I would call it kind of keep fighting Pablo tactics. Plus plus just because conor Casey being former forward and probably living vicariously through Kamara actually had ideas for what to do uh pensively in the counterattack so Colorado rapids get their first win of the twenty nine thousand nine season on May nineteenth against the galaxy. I believe Andrea. She knew she off the bench. And that one mark in that. Seven game unbeaten streak street. They go on to be Columbus crew. That was a game that saw Federico Igwe seen get hurt and effectively end his time with the Columbus crew. They get a gutsy one. One draw the Philadelphia Union. And they take care of FC Cincinnati at home and then beat Minnesota. United GonNa draw at thank couvert and then one of the Games of the season on a one nil win off of Danny any Wilson of all people on June twenty eight against l.. AFC on and then they had that crazy game that had the lightning delays and went into past midnight night on Fourth of July technically July Fifth Q.. One loss to New England revolution and Bruce Arena with the club at that time they get you to draw with Echo Lhasa by SAM. Nicholson after that the lose to New York City F C and then San Jose earthquakes. They have the. The prairie dog plague keen on August. Third `Art Montreal impact. That was a six three win and kyw Kamara with the hat trick and then causing one of the own goals and another thing that happened with him and then they beat San Jose earthquakes and that that was kind of a real flipping the switch for me at least mark where you had that seven. Game unbeaten run. It was mostly against bad tease. And then they'd had some losses and you know points unstrapped against quality opposition but then the fact that they were able to learn from that loss just two weeks prior against the San Jose earthquakes show just a little bit more ruthlessness and then ability to not make mistakes. Leave the door open for their opponents on. They get a one nil loss against Minnesota united thousands of scheduled congestion. Nothing that we can really you say about that. A two two draw against Houston Dynamo ultimately finishing out the Conor Casey era ending in a loss in Rocky Mountain Cup to nail to Real Salt Lake. High Hi Kamara sent off in that one and some late goals for ourselves that ultimately get them to win six points against the raptors in two thousand nineteen once again the Rocky Mountain Cup mark. Walk me through your the perspectives on the conor Casey interim era of the Colorado rapids. You WanNa go through the whole middle section that whole middle section season. Ah Yeah I mean if you WANNA break it up into the end of the seven game. unbeaten streak and then the the latter half. That's fine. Yeah coit I don't really know I. I suppose the way to look at the car. Casey era was that he succeeded too much. Really simply put He was he. He got the team to believe in themselves. He got them to play less rigid soccer author and start to form multiple ways of attacking while putting themselves in position to defend that worked. Better which was specifically very simples? Essentially telling Kelly Acosta and Jack Price You guys stay Back play defensive midfielders and telling the fullbacks you guys stopped bombing floor exposing yourselves on the counter and that was it. I mean you know that. That's my humble sense of the only changes he needed to make get this team on the right foot Which is maybe I'm wrong or maybe I'm too simplistic but it really very much felt like Mike? Hudson was too wedded to a specific way of playing to the effective and he would not give up on this vision of guys. If you just follow me. We're GONNA win and it didn't work and Casey was just much more pragmatic and said like this is not working. And let's play a simpler brand of soccer and try and win. Some Games in a tight way does not hurt that. The rap is wound up playing a bad Columbus Columbus a mediocre Columbus crew team a bad cincinnati team An Okay Minnesota team Who are on the road A A very bad whitecaps team In that stretch the one game I can't explain is l.. AFC Don't understand how they won that game. I will never understand how they won the game. I literally predicted they would lose that game in the Denver Post the week before at which everybody in the world made fun of me and I'm fine with that I find And then you know now I think the rapids came back to reality. which was they didn't really have the talent to to beat every team in the league? They had some gaps especially in terms of creating and creativity And the League. Is You know better than them. And I think that was those. Were all kind of Things to to be aware of when when was the last game of of the Conor Casey Era The loss to real salt lake at RS L.. Did I mean at that point. Most of us had thought that the playoff hosts were completely dead and if nothing else the one thing that they were fighting for the Rocky Mountain Cup was completely out of reach Wjr. Yeah and then. I'm just looking at the scoresheet in and trying to figure out what the hell happened when we played Montreal on the two teams scored nine goals altogether. I don't I remember that that game vaguely and I don't remember what the Hell happened except I think Montreal just quit right like like fifty minutes. They were done something like that. But that that game stands out. As forget about the conor Casey Erin summing it up because I think I gave a pretty decent thing but like yeah there was an early own goal and then there was a penalty and then they just blew them out after the house. I don't really understand what happened there. uh-huh yeah so it was. It was an own goal from Kai Kamara with a thumping header. That competed with Tommy. Smith's own-goal at Portland and then Evan Bush. With an own-goal Work High Kamara creates creates that scores on a PK. In the thirty six minute and then two goals in first half stoppage time with Shinya she setting up for an absolute of volume volley and then Diego Rupee on a set piece two goals against the Rana play for Montreal that gets us to want to three fourth. That gets us to four three and then having it gets another to counterattacking goals from senior cheeky and Kyw Kamara. So the game on a whole was the dumpster fire I think it was emblematic of the best best. And the worst things that the Colorado rapids capable and I think at about some up the occasional moments of brilliance from the attacking players but overall no cohesive idea and very easy to get completely destroyed from the Montreal impact that ultimately saw them miss the playoffs mark they had that one loss at home the FC Cincinnati and now it looks like you know for what feels like at least the fourth time in Montreal's analyst history of Joey pseudo is completely burning down the club and starting from scratch with regard getting sacked. They brought in Wilmer Cabrera. He wasn't retained as interim head coach. And it looks like Maxi CARUCCI Nacho. PRDS's probably out so that that game had a lot of very strong teams undertones of all of the best and worst things that I think both the twenty nine thousand nine Colorado rapids in Twenty Nineteen Montreal. Impact were capable of doing. I don't really remember like I can't fully make sense of what happened in the madness that did happen but it was exciting to watch and knowing that I didn't get the plague afterwards because clearly. I'm still here. I enjoyed that game. Yeah Yeah Yeah. Gonzo weirdness is always fun and soccer even if it doesn't fit the narrative that we sat up and I think that's why I guess I stopped and paused on that game. which was like? I don't know what this game was. Is this an outlier. Is it indicative of anything you know. And I think that that's another thing to kind of reflect upon with the early part of the season was like what what did we learn about the Colorado rapids during the era You know there's too narratives. I think you set it up a little bit. One is Anthony. Husband was the worst manager in the history. We've managers of bumbling Moron who couldn't find his way out of out of his own car with the keys in his hand. You know that's that's too simplistic narrative. I don't believe in black and white in almost any facet of my life which is why I think assigning a significant amount of credits. Pablo to Portsmouth for figuring. Hang out what players. The team needed was helpful. That being said I don't think that Anthony Hudson would figured out a way to use Jonathan Lewis us in any way shape or form Also to that end. NYC AFC didn't figure out a way to use Jonathan Lewis. Either don't make torrent..

"Neither of them are is defending but both of them are an immediate outlet further fullbacks and I think just based on the precedent knowing that velos probably GONNA play in the middle. I Like I've been writing this all season in terms of Sammy vines improving. I think you put trust in those two fullbacks to win those battles one V one just get the ball. Get it to somebody in the middle of the park who can then distribute or just just lay it out for somebody for Jonathan Lewis into space with you having numbers of field and so I think mosquitoes better from that link-up play standpoint point. I think probably my first three players off the bench. If I need to go I need to change something. It's probably Rubio Cheeky maybe depending on the situation and who that I ended up having in to bring out. I'm not sure there's any defender. I'm subbing into the game. Maybe you decide to go full five at the back like how we've seen the three five two with Keegan Rosenberg centreback in which case then I probably bring on seven Anderson for for Nicholson just move him back and then it's a proper five-man back line with the wingback not really going forward. I don't know that there's any like Goto like this is a game that I'd love to have Michael Zero or Sam. I'm grown and available to come in off the bench mark but I I don't know that there's a Goto lock down defensive sub. I think that'll probably just come with the team playing a little bit more conservatively ed or the formation switch that I talked about. You feel like we shall we do. We Dare Rabbi Mark. Good men make a prediction on the results of this coming Sunday no. Why do you have to do this to me? Matt while I do have to make me like say something. I don't WanNa say I have been pessimistic all season. I have said since June we weren't gonNA make the playoffs. I feel the rapids finishing eighth. which is where they could potentially finish as well? Yeah that's true I I feel awful about betting against his team that I love because I am not just a pundit. I am a fan but there's a bridge too far man. I mean you're asking for three results to go our way. Including including one of the most difficult results you could ever ask which is L. AFC I will point out that I literally wrote an article for the Denver Post in which I predicted they would lose to L. AFC Z. and then they went out and the L. in harshly in Oh my gosh to that moment. I'm just GONNA go out again and say the Colorado rapids are GONNA lose was to L. AFC The rest of the results aren't really gonNA matter and that's that hardy though as you know Matt is saying that because I really hope that I will be proven wrong again. What do you think Matt? I will say that the rapids will also miss the playoffs Orland gets a result. I think Portland gets a result. I think they win. Rarely get a draw. I think there's goals in that game. It's not gonNA be a clean sheet for either side so that one's going to end up not mattering I think. FC Dallas else gets a draw against Sporting Kansas City as well but I do think that the rapids will go out and beat L. AFC I think it'll be one at halftime and then at that point Bob Bradley Oh will sub out the main cavalry. I don't see Carlos Fella playing any more than a single half in this game one way or the other sort will be a goal in garbage average time when Bob Bradley's effectively said we've gone up there. We've done our job in terms of getting the legs loosened. Let me get some young guys minutes Carlos go ice up and get ready because sauce on his coming in that the rapids who are absolutely going all guns blazing playing like their hair is absolutely on fire will go out and get a goal in garbage time of that that will probably be the final twenty minutes or so and it's so Dalo got them a two one win but ultimately not enough that said mark. I I think if we've learned anything from the season or even just covering this league independent of having a a rapid focused lens on covering this league like at this point like I'm convinced anything's possible this is absolute chaos lending anytime you think you've absolutely figured out a narrative or what the results going be or how season's GonNa go or what's going on with a team or an individual player. This league will absolutely turn on a dime so if there are soccer God's if they have a writer's room room of amyloid script writers and everything I think anybody out here you're listening to who you're reading folks who you're talking to you on the edge of the bar right before kickoff on Sunday anybody anybody who says. ABCD effort can happen. I'm absolutely certain. I don't think there's anybody out there right now. Who knows what is going to go down on on Sunday and I wouldn't be shocked if it's something that we completely weren't suspecting including but not limited to in some form or fashion the Colorado rapids qualifying for the play offs all right mark let said ask h h l long show but I hope you've really enjoyed it listeners? We got an email asking she h. L. From Eric Jansen then mark shoutouts extratime radio for actually carrying about the rapids and not being like you know we be like trying to provide therapy you and me mainly but he asks them any other tidbits on how much of the credit pie should be given to Frazier Casey or even pork Smith. I say Smith because everyone lambasted Danny Wilson Tommy Smith I and the less to a lesser extent Jack Price last year and part of this year Wilson wasn't a complete hit but also wasn't a complete bust either not everyone can be a starting centerback back. Tommy and Jack are looking really good in the system with the surrounding players add on that Guy Rubio Boubacar and drafting Shinya Sheiky for this year. Those are all hits. We have done the blame pie on this show. In the past we have done Momma Abubakar's awesome Pi. I'm going to amend this to say the returning to relevancy at the end of the season credit pie how much credit to Robin Frazier Conor Casey Pork Smith and is there anybody else who you think deserves credit for the fact that we're talking about this team mark and they are very much relevant in the final game of the season. I I mean the easy way to go as a third a third with with the three names that you mentioned Smith Casey Frazier but I wanNA give more credit fifty percent credit into powder casey for reversing the curse for stopping the slide for turning the mentality team around I think that this team could have very well delve into a position where they were beaten down they were desperate and they went full on. FC Cincinnati cratering and just is becoming a disaster but they didn't they turned it around. I think Casey units third game. He started to get it right. They played a little bit more conservatively. At first he e e- pinned the fullbacks into a defensive position instead of bringing them up he kind of asked Kelham Mukasa and Jack Price to to do the dirty work in the middle of the field used them as kind of Pera defensive midfielders. you know he got a lot out of that. I want to give a lot of credit support Smith who did some really good wheeling and dealing at the deadline he gets credit for senior shaky the beginning of the year he it gets credit for bringing in Boubacar. He gets credit for Jonathan Lewis. who was a big spark plug in? I also think a side thing that we may have talked about before floor. was that somehow Anthony Hudson just wanted to play narrow. He wanted his wit to come from fullbacks. In this season. When they went to a four four two diamond he basically wanted to play narrow? He wanted the fullbacks to continue to bring the ball up. There were no wide midfield as before for went out and God Jonathan Lewis conor Casey figured out a way to use chinyere shaky and natural striker as a wide midfielder. He got Sam Nicholson to be a useful and productive again. and frazier continued a lot of that you know frazier continued a lot of that and then I just want to add one more thing that Kinda will end up in your end-of-season stuff for last word on soccer. is is not related to this. It's a little bit of the blame pie but I wonder whether Hudson broke Shellberg and CERNA who had a terrible game in the fourth game of the season and then they basically were banished to the bench that we've never seen them again and that kind of breaks my heart. These were both functional practical football players at the end of last season now now. They're like you know a burnt out husks of themselves before the show started. I was looking it up just to see who was on the injured list in case there was a player that I wanted to talk about for. LLC and they weren't actually available. It turns out Dylan. CERNA wasn't available last game. He had throat surgery which is an absolute mystery to me. Yes swimming he was at he. I did see him at ESPN. He was talking to a couple of his teammates. Assume the throats okay but yeah he's you know I. I'm not sure what what the timeline is on that or what was going on with his throat. That's a very non soccer. Injury is a very non soccer injury and I was told that earlier in the season Benny fell harbor also had a non soccer injury surgery I'm off for when it did not seem important for him to be with the club after I think he got a rat also right so yeah injuries and losing players players but that's neither here nor there so ago I'm giving fifty percent credit conor Casey but frazier for for raising the spirits and tactically planning really well these last couple weeks and pork for making important adjustments. He gets definitely get some credit I'd probably have to think a little bit more because there's a few other people I wanNA give a slice of this pie too so maybe I won't get percentages but the the biggest the plurality and the largest slice of Pie should go to conor Casey. This team was absolutely absolutely in the dumps after eleven games and he just came in and he steadied the ship and he got some potentially unimpressive results against some potentially unimpressive teams but the end of they mark the three points at the rapid God against the Hapless Columbus crew and a hapless. FC Cincinnati count just as much as any points that they're going to get against Elliott the the win in terms of just the actual results matters just as much as the one against FC Dallas so he got results. He said he the ship notably they went on that nice little unbeaten run. They had a couple of other really good results the game against San Jose at home for example and he just he steadied things from a club standpoint. This club was an absolute chaos and anything that he did to even just revert to where they weren't gonna be contending for the wooden spoon. I should eat some crow on that on that guarantee now that I think about it he deserves the biggest slice because if he doesn't steady the ship hip and put them to the point where they're even remotely average during the summer months then there's nothing for Robin Frazier to come in here and and try like the ships ships already sunk by the time Robert Frasure takes over the team in terms of the twenty nine hundred so conor Casey gets the biggest piece I wanna give the next biggest slice ace to Portsmouth just because of the midseason acquisitions what Jonathan Lewis and also boubacar bent and absolutely fantastic they all deserve a small slice of the uh of this pie as well as shaky and then the next biggest one after pork would-be Robin Fraser all the players get smaller pieces after that the two other players I'd probably highlight right after that mark would be Clint Irwin him stepping in which is all the uncertainty regarding Tim Howard and the injuries and everything and he just came in and you know it was almost a seamless transition whether he started games whether he sub games in in terms of players being familiar and him being familiar with the game plan in his communication style being king slightly different than Tim Howard but equally as effective and the other one. I'll say Jack Price you know now with the most set-piece assists from an entire season. He's been a fantastic box midfielder. He's calmed down the yellow cards and he's been contributing to the offense. I think of all the players that I've listed..

"The exact same branding as the club of which there is no other yeah that almost made sense in in other words they weren't playing in Swope Park and nobody knew what it what the joke was was swope Park Rangers so they just gave up and said all right where we're GONNA play play in Kansas City will just call them the Sporting Kansas City junior they congressional are they keeping the the the bigfoot mascot go. That's a good question. I don't know I don't even understand why bigfoot is their mascot do that. Nobody understood it and I think that like the whole point was an inside joke that didn't make any sense and that that was the joke all right them very good. anyhow Christian nemesis is maybe the only bright spot in last week's EXC lineup yet. He has goals on the season. He's been a little bit he he disappears in stretches but you know long story short Sporting Kansas City is really not the team that you want to rely on in order to get you some points. So you know the first game we previewed it kind of could go either way but we're we're really hoping that Portland can help out the rapids by beating up on San Jose. That's reasonably possible Sporting Kansas City helping helping out the rapids by getting a result against FC Dallas is a little bit less likely but likely talked about in the rapids game. Dallas Dallas looked pretty damn aimless this last week and you put them against S. K. C. who've looks pretty damn aimless for the last five weeks in it's six to five and pick. It's like really hard to figure out whether you know at least Dallas has something to play for. Were a sporting may just go out completely flat and likely mentioned between the red cards in the injuries. There's just not a lotta horses in in the in a stable to carry them through you know forget about being outta gas. They're out of men yeah. No I agree. I agree with you mark so I mean that's this is the game that I'd be worried about rapid fans. This is the game if you're GONNA do boxing or anything or whatever you have to do in order order to watch the rap game if you're pulling up something else on your laptop or ESPN plus on your phone it is absolutely sworn in Kansas City against Dallas and maybe set notifications on fought aww mob or mls soccer or whatever other app you use as far as the San Jose Portland game that one's also on national TV so maybe you could toggle back and forth on your TV depending on what your home entertainment setup is but if there's a second screen that you're peering at occasionally while watching the rapids against l. AFC It's absolutely gotTA BE FC Dallas and Sporting Kansas City. Maybe the one liner hope or thing that I'm looking at as far as this is concerned how well really two is smart in Kansas City's out of men but also I think just the way this season went that Peter Vermes is probably looking at this as reshuffling the deck like a mini reload to try and get one more chance that a trophy with the Bay Gutierrez is Tim Melia Graham Zoo see map Beasley Roger Espinoza core and so maybe he ends up shuffling line up with some guys who weren't as good the season weren't a part of it you mentioned I mentioned you mentioned Daniel shallowly boost IOS and homegrown. He's still relatively the young so maybe this is a game that if he showcases he's starting with the first team instead of with the cell squad at the start of the season so maybe they're not fighting for anything collectively as a a team but depending on the type lineup that Peter puts out there you know there could be a bunch of guys who were fighting for their spot on the team next year or contractor already know that they're probably on the outside oats and then they're trying to create some of their highlight reel you know we saw that a little bit with the rapids last year with getting the win against FCL's on decision day and ultimately that helped down the down down Dallas who had a chance to host home playoff game and afford the wildcard they ended up losing to Portland. I believe on Halloween the following Wednesday so maybe that's an opportunity for sporting in Kansas City. Maybe playing spoiler something significant but I'm not really sure how I'm GonNa feel about this game until I physically see the lineup to see what kind of a squad they you know Peter Vermes duct tape together with the parts that he actually has and you know switching formation. I mentioned they didn't look like they had a plan. Plan against the Colorado rapids they pretty much just put eleven men behind the ball in their draw Seattle sounders and they came out absolutely flat against against New York City F C their most recent home game up until the Sunday so I don't I'm not sure similar to Portland and San Jose. I'm not sure about either team but we could see a Sporting Kansas City team. That's actually going to go out there and fight tooth and nail because they want their contract for twenty twenty. We could see team where Matt bazars. There's like the season's over who cares and maybe the team ends up mailing it in I mean I have to think if if you can't beat the Sporting Kansas City team at home and find some form of identity and you how to do that. FC Dallas deserve to win. Their backs. Were against the walls. It was I mean I guess they're Baxter. Maybe tied to their duct taped to the wall wall and now they've got to find a way to fight their way out of it now on Sunday and I'm just I'm not sure what I'm GonNa see until they actually kick off and I know that the lineups and the formations are in seeing just how these these teams initially respond with that mark. Let's head to the game of the day as far as rapid transit concern and that will be the Colorado rapids taking on Los Angeles. Those were ball club. We did get an ask H. T. H. L. About what L. AFC has to fight for they've already clinched the Supporters Shield so they've got nothing to worry about like they're already at home. They're not doc getting on another plane for an MLS game for the rest of the season even if they go on to host molest cup they have sixty nine points on the season mark the MLS record was last year New York Red Bulls who were sworn the supporter she'll with seventy one point so in terms of what is l. AFC trying to fight for if they win. They'll have the most points ever in a single lamela season. They've already clinched goals four so from a team standpoint. They don't really care about getting a blowout. They already have the highest goal-differential by far the next highest after I was forty two I believe with Toronto. FC from a couple of years ago so as long as they don't lose four nil to the rapid they've already got that locked up the only other thing that they really have the fight for other than the points total is last week with the game against Minnesota Carlos Villa tied Jost Martinez of two thousand eighteen for the most goals in a regular regular season. Both of them are sitting on thirty one Martinez still at twenty seven and obviously he's been out with an injury so he's probably not playing for Atlanta. Zlatan Ibrahimovic Nick is at twenty nine goals so delegates one he sets a new record for the most goals in analyst regular season and maybe Velos like looking over to the bench to see if somebody's checking underscore for. La Galaxy against Houston Dynamo to see of slot as a hat trick says fellow wants the Golden boot he wants the MVP he wants to set the record all time and he I think more so than all three of those things he wants to finish with more goals than slots on Ibrahima thing other than Velez setting the goal record and L. AFC setting the points total record record. There's nothing really for L. AFC from a result standpoint to fight for maybe the one thing that you have going for them is out of the game on October. Six playoffs are not until the international after the international window folks so the next play at the first playoff game doesn't start until the weekend of October nineteenth and October Twentieth L. AFC's already the number one seed in the western conference. They've already clinched a by. They wouldn't be playing until the following Wednesday. So everybody plays on Sunday. The other playoff teams have a full two weeks to prepare L. A. S. Seventeen maybe eighteen days depending on which days that they end up playing on a prep for it so it's not like you're saying Oh. Let's give the guys a week week off. Maybe they're thinking just give Carlo run out just to get some miles and stretch out the hamstring. Maybe Michael Maybe Bob Bradley thinking. Let's just do a simulated game in the following week. Can we have complete control of the situation and don't have to worry about Tommy. Smith going in with the studs up tactical mark if you were Bob Bradley how you be approaching this and how much is Carlos Vela e Velez Ego especially given the recent run of form and a hamstring injury affecting how you approach this game boy i. I don't know if I'm Bob Bradley. This game is sort of meaningless to me and I leased Carlos Vela on the bench until at least minutes sixty st in case I need him but I would just give him the week off because I think you make some really good points about wanting to keep him kind of in game mode the end that giving him a fully is probably is potentially just as damaging as risking him being out for injury but at this point you know he's got nothing nothing to prove. I mean you pointed out that he wants to stay ahead in the goals race overs lockdown but he's two goals often. I don't think that's likely to pass them. No matter what he's also logged a ton of minutes he is twenty two thousand six hundred thirty six minutes on the season. That's a lot in the already has fifteen assists. There's there's nothing left for valid would approve that being sad. this team is really good. Even without Carlos Fella I mean they are an absolute juggernaut. the line up top to bottom is completely stacked there's just no way of even even if you sit vela and they are also missing one other important player which is a domino diamante out with a slur Bolland recovery yeah so so they're missing some key players but I still think teams ridiculously good even if they don't have them you've got Latif. Blessing has been playing as kind of a box to box eight eight in a role that I don't know that anybody really anticipated and he's doing really well. You Got Mark Anthony K playing as maybe one of the best finds ends in major league soccer this year he just kind of last year he was a it was a useful cog in this year. He's he's an exceptional midfielder. you know this is a team team that can pull Lee win off the bench short run out if got Eddie cigarroa on the back line it's just an exceptional team top to bottom so you can sit him down m you can still down still probably get a result also impossibly most importantly for L. AFC they're just absolutely lights out or home. I mean they've just been an absolutely exceptional team at home Matt. Do you have their their home away record in front of you. Yes they're home record. This season and League plays twelve wins one Austin three ties and the one loss was against Minnesota united in which Carlos Pella was unavailable and their three draws. I know one of them was against the Galaxy Galaxy and I'm blanking on what the other two were off the top of my head right now. Yeah I mean they're just beating them at home is really hard. It's the last game of the season it'll be packed. The atmosphere in there is just off the chain. you know you said that you know counting on. SKC together results is probably the best thing of the night but like it is almost equally difficult if not more difficult for the Colorado rapids to go uh-huh into Los Angeles get a victory. It's GonNa GonNa take everything that being said the ramparts have everything to play for..

"rapids " Discussed on Holding The High Line with Rabbi and Red

"I did see one report one of the Games is on national TV so the probably be simultaneously kickoff what that'll probably be at the usual one time which is like two twenty to twenty five the half half hour at the absolute latest so plan accordingly. You can get a little bit late to setting things up as far as that is concerned. We are thirty three thirty four th through Ooh the twenty one thousand nine Colorado rapids season mark. They currently find themselves in ninth in the Western Conference. They have forty two points off of those thirty. Three Games played they have a record of twelve fifteen and six with a negative three goal differential and they'll be taking on Los Angeles Football Club who are top of the Western Conference. They have already clinched clinched the Supporters Shield. They did that with a win against the Houston Dynamo this time last week. I believe they have sixty nine points off of their thirty. Three Games played they have a record of twenty wins four losses and nine ties. They have a forty six eight plus forty six goal differential and their record at home in league play. The season listen is twelve one and three their only loss was to Minnesota United Carlos Fellow was absent for that and I believe they also you were at the Open Cup game that they lost as well right mark against Orlands okay so that's a curious situation and then here the other games that are also relevant Portland Timbers who are sixth and and have not clinched a playoff spot are taking on sporting are taking on San Jose earthquakes at Home San Jose is an eighth they have forty four points two points ahead head of the rapids in one point one spot ahead of the rapids and then FC Dallas who are in seven have the final playoff spot have forty five points one ahead of San Jose two or the three ahead of the Colorado rapids are taking on Sporting Kansas City Kansas City's already eliminated but they tried really really hard to down the Portland Timbers over the weekend mark. We kind of almost have to to do three previews on this one so I guess let's let's save the best of the most important one for last the rapids can't clinch over the Portland Timbers so oh Portland getting points doesn't really matter but to make things simple for you listeners. The rapids have to win no matter what the scoreline is the rapid have to win on Sunday. FC DALLAS HAS TO LOSE IF FC Dallas gets a draw the rapids out if they lose in the rapids would overtake them with a win they would be FC Dallas on the first tiebreaker which is wins so don't worry about goal differential title. Don't worry about scoreline. It's morning Kansas City as to win the rapids to win than the rapids overtake Dallas. The San Jose earthquakes can lose they can also also drop in the event that San Jose draws with Portland and the rapids win though we tied on which is the first tiebreaker the second tiebreaker after that is goal differential San Jose has a negative one goal differential. The rapids have a negative three in the event that you're tied on goal differential. The next highest tiebreaker raker is goals for the rapid fifty seven goals San Jose has fifty one. I'M GONNA make a safe assumption mark that if the Portland Timbers draw the San Jose earthquakes. It's not going to be ten goals to ten goals so all the rapids have to do is Tai San Jose on goal differential in order to jump them in the event that they are tied on points and tied on wins because then we tied on goal differential the rapids overtake them on goals for so if San Jose gets a draw in Portland than the rapids will need a multi goal win doesn't matter the scoreline it could be it could be ten to eight it could be two nil. The rapids have to get a multiple win over the over L. AFC If all of that happens the rapids clinch the seventh seed in the Western Conference. We'll start with the least relevant game for this mark two teams that that are I made a joke with somebody at training this week that Portland and San Jose. It's a battle of two battleships and it's not about what can you do to make them sink faster Mr but just stay afloat. I have to think especially with just the way that San Jose's when playing and the red carpet Christian Espinosa all the timbers have to do is start up and have Valeri exists as long enough for the quakes to collapse of their wait. What are you seeing the game providence park on Sunday which will be on national television? I mean you know Portland doesn't need need to win to get in They're not in a position where they WANNA arrest players but they also can't nothing nothing matters in this game for them. If they lose the worst that can happen. They dropped to the seven spot instead of the sixth but there's still been quenched mark. They can fall out of the playoffs. Oh that's right right. There is one scenario in which they candidate involves the earthquakes in Dallas going in right yes in involves the San Jose earthquakes beating Portland Portland Timbers right ignore everything I just said so it matters. It quickly mattered but they're they're in the best shape of these teams games so I feel like this game that Portland probably has this one in handle handle and I think the other thing that we've learned about San Jose since they've really faded at the end of the season is the Matias Omega man marking the happens in requires a tremendous amount of energy in order to defend wears on players over the season that they get they get beat up and you need potentially a deeper team in order to be effective at this method the other thing is as you mentioned this is a home I'm game for Portland to their home record seven five and sore which actually isn't that great they had that really long road trip to begin the season while their stadium was getting finished but San Jose on the other hand has been pretty terrible away from home the three ten in three on the road so I feel like Portland has a lot of reason to be able to win this one but again. I think if they don't win this one it's the least consequential of the three games like you said Yeah. No I agree with you know. I don't have a lot of confidence in either of these teams but but San Jose is definitely been the bigger dumpster fire like I have to think there's been a lot of rumblings. You've been paying attention to the Diego. Valeri is out of contract. He has a contract contract option for twenty twenty and that hasn't been picked up yet and that's been the main reason that he hasn't been playing. He did not start in the game against Sporting Kansas City city so that's one where I really have some doubt Brian. Fernandez got a Red card in that game as well. Maybe by the time this podcast comes out or certainly by Sunday. We'll know whether they're not getting overturned but I mean I just you know the San Jose team they look absolutely out of gas mark Michio may did a fantastic job of implementing his identity and the man marking system on them but in MLS thirty four game season with all the travel and all the different elements you need to have a distinct double pivot at some point join a successful team and MLS needs to be able to go on the road out of conference play and just put numbers behind the ball and get out of there with a one one draw and that hasn't been Almeida's him Komo and this team looks absolutely exhausted. They were gassed a couple of weeks ago when they had a home game against Philly and they were one nil and they ended up losing that with some precarious situations situations they've had a couple of red cards and everything you know Wanda's clearly winding down and potentially he'll be hanging up his boots on. He'll be hanging up his boots on Sunday as as well so that's something to think about just the Portland Timbers all they really have to do is show up. Valeri has to say okay like I'm putting aside my the contract negotiates whatever however start me I'll play the ninety minutes. Let's just get a result and get into the playoffs and focus on winning now kind of like the US women's national team saying we're going to fight the good fight for equal pay but we're going to put but that aside and focus on winning the World Cup validate that Larry if you want the team to pay your money and prove that you're not slowing down with another year wear and tear beating the San Jose earthquakes and making another run at Emma's cup is a really really good way to convince Merritt Paulson to give him your money man so I think I think Portland has to show up and I think they get the result and even if they get a draw that's not the end of the world for the rapids. I just on the road. It's going to be on national TV. Portland's going to be desperate in everything they're are you know they they need to get a result. San Jose is going to be without Christian Espinosa. WHO's their best player for me? The game's going to be on turf and everything this'll be the first time my mate is. It's going to that stadium in that environment so in terms of planning and understanding that and everything I have to clean the timbers get a result in this one mark. Just I mean if that doesn't end up happening. Then I mean we're further down into chaos men. I think either of US want to be so I think that has to happen. I don't think it'll be pretty Portland is has to show up and play their game remotely at what their averages which is not very good right now and eventually the quakes will collapse of their own weight and Sin Brazil be able to get a result with that. Let's transition mark to FC Dallas taking on Sporting Kansas City FC Dallas get some win and no matter what anybody else's hewing they're in the playoffs Sporting Kansas City. We'll be without Roger Espinoza. They played kind of a hybrid lineup with some of the younger guys and everything I've got to think with this team being coached by Peter Vermes that they're not GonNa mail it in and in terms of this actual result mark but I mean I just I wonder do you play some of the old guys and maybe grams Uzis like Ma as opposed to like Gian Luca Bucci Oh unchristian nemeth who are fighting for time and potentially another contract and twenty twenty going out there saying I'm GonNa make a statement. I'm very curious about what version and what team team shows up for Sporting Kansas City and just on on the continuing theme with FC Dallas like what is FC Dallas. How do they go about getting result against Kansas City? Well well yeah. SKC's been bad they're winless in their last five with four losses. They finally got a tie this last week against Portland Island there centre-back pairing votes on Barris and early Sanchez was standing in and and they're they're they haven't been very good. Sanchez got a Red card last game so he's out for this upcoming game which means that your other defenders are Jalen Lindsey Enzi us very very young and Cecil Novick who's actually a fullback and not a centreback. I don't really know what they're GONNA do here. They I think Dana shall we finally got a goal this last week. it was his first goal in like eight tries he had before that he had an expected goals of seven point zero zero actual goals he was the kid that couldn't shoot straight and they paired against a next to Gianluca blasio who you mentioned seventeen years old five foot seven hundred thirty seven pounds than playing most of the beginning of the season with swope Park Rangers who manager here they got renamed this week yes so they are now Sporting Kansas City to sew the no no other club rebranded their other club to be.
