"I forget what dreams thinking of but it was available to just watch. But there's some kind of races shitting there. Well it's a fucking classic. It's it doesn't matter. I watch that and see what racism was like at that time or how it was presented in films. Don't fuck it sterilize that shit. Let's see how it actually was. And if you were going gonna watch it with your kid. Cool like what. I think the thing with them. Putting a warning at the beginning is a twelve. Second warning that you can't skip. That says there are racist and stereotypes in this excetera. I support that you in milan movie. A what he has a move motion was a dragon in an original moulana. Animated out that dragon. There was a racist dragon. Wasn't a racist raga. No but he was. I think it was played by eddie murphy. In a movie and guest at the asian community didn't like it like they were making fun. Like what the dragon. So when the live action came out they remove as a whole character bro and they just have like an asian person. Do it or a popular. She was nato in but you know even like dumbo live at dumbo came out. They didn't put the racist. Crows the crows racist black stereotypes. All right okay. Also like do we do. We need a quentin tarantino like fucking sand nigger like ninety eight times like seven. Two quinter tina moves are amazing. One of my favorite. They've thought of censoring those yet. And i really hope they don't because there's a bunch of classic movies that would be pretty much ruined because twitter coin tarintino says the n. word thousand movies. I love. I cannot watch pulp fiction with that whole scene. His get rid of django. I'm done bro. Not a can't they can't do that was made in the era now but like this is funny to me that he writes himself as a character and then he says it. Like he's like. He's like live papa. John's dream to me that is so obviously. Yeah right so obviously a bad idea but we thought it was normal in the nineties. Nobody thought twice about it took decades of people being like. Why do you have to say the n word eighty times in this movie. I mean leonardo dicaprio did it and it was it was like it was like setting and django. Oh yeah honestly. He didn't write the move if you are if portraying that character and that's that's what you gotta do what you gotta do bro. But the thing is you know. Sometimes i wonder how much we repeat ourselves because people always say that we have the same conversations over and over like i was about to say something that i've already set on here so i'm just coming in the bud. Was michael rap. Heart rappaport rappaport. Was he in higher. Learning as one of the nazi niggers wild. I just thought that just popped up in my head like bugs out and goes up on the fucking clock tower. He's the one that shoots the moore's wife for because he no no no no. I was thinking about him because he has whole. Kevin garnett right. Yeah i mean we kevin durant right. What was up with that. I saw that five thousand dollars. Because because he's beefing michael rapaport. So our guest kevin durant. Am and were saying all this shit like pull push him fuck you work and everything like that and then my michael puts it on his instagram ice. Look at kevin durant threatening me like laughing about it. How could you not do that. But the nba find him fifty thousand dollars for the bad sportsmanlike conduct or whatever they all the time. Why would they be. Even because michael rapaport was talking shit about him. I don't i don't know that is dave from barstool. Did what they did a slam dunk. Michael rapaport kevin durant kevin durant shit. Oh he was just sorta joining in on the michael rapaport district. He didn't bring that same smoked a little bit. That's auto came in like he's like he's crying have hey. If he wants to win this he needs to go on his story. Right now in play for kevin durant by little. This went on near like like. He's crying he's like damn you guys on the internet thing it was. I didn't actually watch that. I've kind of like out of the michael rapaport controversy mill is seen. Fuck kevin durant by little. I remember that was. That's my. That's my little putting curses on people. where he lifted. James harden curse. I was happy. I feel like that was the last time that was like a main topic of conversation and pop culture. Now remember he went. Please disobeys remember. He went on. Espn over her grandma. yes he did. He did the diamond in the forehead before he was operated. Wow that's hard. You got him a little bit. I remember when they built them. Beat up lobi and didn't know that anyone would care. Everybody cares like beaten of jesus. I mean that's all beating clearly a beat him up to offer god a gun on his story talking about how all the new york grabbers sing like bitches and shit or something. I don't know if he said boogie. Federal wop or some shit but basically that's what he was getting so then so the abm pnb packed him out to out. You know he's back. Stage rolling steel said. No one do anything. Yeah show him love but you know i remember hearing what a guy i remember hearing that was making all kinds of plays calls up there but it'll be pretty sure could make some shit happen for sure. He's got crazy. I would like to see him catch his own body though..

Where's Guerrero? Is Alex? Girl? Tom, We gotta get the field. Actually, there's a top senior said he went like lifted right after they won the first Super Bowl. Beat of a is wearing that actual shirt of Brady at the weigh in at the combine back in the day in the shorts and the Skinny Brady. He's filling it out better is he's the best area. He's the best Bay Area football product on that team there. So what did Jason White say? We're going toe Effin win this thing again. Somebody said GM think where they pull up. It rightly chasing light said that Siciliano treated that Their cock. Oh, he wasn't having light beers. Jason Light was going full. He was deep in he was deep into the Tequila. Is that what he said? We're gonna booze is what a shape shifting that Jason light he gets after it so They're all hammered there, girl. They're all drug man for them. Yeah, Yeah, He did say that. And then areas like you said you went in there and he's talking trash. Whatever. Have fun that day Post that at 49 40. Bruce Arians also said the free agent to be Levante. David, your ass ain't going nowhere. Yeah, we'll see. Who said that light or somebody else? No, it's an Arian said to live on that. We'll see. We'll see by the right. Remember voice. The thing is, yeah, Extremely. We got up here yesterday that like every other tweet was that thing. People were crazy that yesterday but social media What would we do without it? "Time. So you know, I am found them. I'm exhausting. Whatever. I think my top three options are I'm doing everything I can to get those types react the first time since the shot Lawson That's the god of anything out there, too, shall watch everyone top parted. I would trade so much for a guy like to shout in Boston. So OK, That's him answering a listener. Question. Do you guys believe? Because he's just tapped in his they come. He's the guy that broke spy gate. That's what in that video he's talks about when he got the video on SPI Geh tee goes Nobody. A Fox gave me any run whatsoever, and he's in this production meeting And they said, Hey, we're doing an extra segment for J today and how we, Terry? They're like Why is he getting more time? And they said he's got the video of spy game. Terry Bradshaw when he has the video. No way. Yes, I have the video. Okay, then you're good with me said it made his career so anything, he says. Now he's pretty tapped in. You think he stepped in right there. Are they truly all in to try and get Watson? I think he's might have heard something. Seems Jay Glazer, right? So Jay Glazer's different I think, then Adam Schefter or Mort Rappaport Rappaport or the guy from CBS. I just come forward. Yeah, I think he's different because he's very close to the players. He is Maybe too uncomfortably close sometimes, but at least he gets the scoop right And he's not getting it from executives. He flips it. Where Schefter will get it from executives, but not as much as players shifters work are Glaser's working out with him correct. He's he knows because they know him very well. So it would not surprise me if he's heard rumblings because He has that in with players correct member when Urlacher was mad at the media because they were covering the divorce stuff, and he was talking to nobody, and then Glazer would come out on Sunday morning. Here's with Brian Urlacher is thank you like whoa Because they were boys. Yes. So, Danny, do you think Glaser has some info that the Bears are going to leave No stone unturned. No cost is too much. To get the right guy? No, I think that was just Glaser's opinion. I think the difference between like like what he was saying The difference between Glazer and Schefter is Glaser's not scared to be very, very opinionated, because you know Schefter is very cautious that when he says something people assume that it's going to be he's reporting it. I remember when he used to join Carmen and your co. Every week when he'd say something bold. He'd be like, guys, I'm not reporting this. I'm just speculating. I think what Glaser was doing. There was just saying what he would do if he ran the team. But by no means do I think he's reporting it? Jeff, I think there's more there. I think he's heard from players. Hey, bears. They're gonna be all in man not telling you that's where I'm going. But they are going to be all in. Yeah, I agree More with Danny. I think And whom you too. I think it's more of Ah. He's more of a player's guy, and we know that you laid out absolutely nowhere. His sources come from end to his credit generally when he says something I've trusted more definitively like you know that he's giving you the actual goods. But in this case, it truly does seem like he's just recognizing what we all see for ourselves. You're in a position. If you're the bears, you need to win a sap and you need to go out and fix this quarterback issue. That's been I'm going now for as long as we've all been alive. I would love the idea that for the Bears to be in a position to get themselves a franchise, young quarterback like to Shawn Watson, and hopefully that will be the case. You know, I'm because he goes back to our topic last week. What I did think differently of Ryan Pace if he's able to pull off that deal. Well, of course I would, Because now you're able to right a wrong right. The travesty thing didn't work out, but I got someone who's even better. Well, that's what Guys that really know how to trade really not a wheel and deal. They do They write the wrong They fixed the problem, right? So hopefully that will be something that they do because that quarterback list you've been giving us That's not the future for the Bears know those free agents. That's not good, not good, but there could be unprecedented movement this year. We had 10 a bomb yesterday, said 18. And Schefter said last night. Over 18. Like cheese. Mean? Stafford and to Shawn Watson and all these different names that are going to be out there. They got to find a way to get one of them. They got to What It's the Bears and if they did What are we going to talk about? Year to year? My God, if we had Aaron Rodgers is our quarterback. We would never have anything to complain about it. But we'll be talking about winning for a change for you on a regular basis would be nice People don't realize this and sometimes we have to refresh people to understand. No, I could speak for myself, and I think I could speak for you. It's better when the Bears win. It's better for the bottom line that pocketbook. It's better for the ratings. It's better for the interest of the team. No question. Everyone gets another tent when the Bears win When they lose, people start leaving and finding other things to do I rather for the bears to be a perennial winner. Then to be losing and being foreign 12 every year, just saying it's easier for me well, said. 3123323776 Albert Breer will join us at eight o'clock about all that is going on in the National Football League, and it's snowing out there, folks. It's not that bad. The roads are okay. Be safe. All right, we'll be right back Cap and G Hood mornings on ESPN 1000 Chicago's home for sports bottle in Sylvia's.

"Red Letter Christianity. What is it should we be concerned? Is there a danger in believing in the red letters over the black letters we. We'll discuss that today. On the rap report look into the rap report with Andrew Rappaport we provide biblical interpretations and applications this is a ministry of striving for eternity and a cushion podcast community for more content or to request the speaker for your church go to strive for eternity dot org all right. Well Welcome to Andrew Rappaport Rappaport rap report. We're glad to have you here with us. And as always we're looking forward to Dealing with God's God's word says on matters of culture and this is one issue that we're GonNa see where culture and religion are mixing and it creates problems. Now before we get to that. I just gotTa let you know Bud. I have gotten a message this this week. That is phenomenal. I'm GonNa Yeah I wanna read this this. This was just great. This is a something that I got. That was based off of last week's message last week rap report I was well essentially what I was doing was I was more in the mode of I just wanted to kind of not do not have nothing. I always want for our audience to make sure that we're always providing some new material. And so that's what I wanted to do. And in that light I put Basically my testimony I had it from another I was recording for another person's podcast and I just put my testimony Nia and it was more specific to how I got saved than it was the previous time I have one. They've talked on rebooted talks. More than just how I got saved but events after this was really the events that led to to my salvation and someone actually in my testimony. I talk about having been in a McDonald's where there was a shooting I talked about my mother dying a young age and I got this from a gentleman and this is just a great testimony because it tells uh when you and I do these things behind the scenes you write a bunch of the blogs at striving fraternity and some great stuff that you do every Sunday morning with the come less worship the articles that you right and we do these things. We usually don't see the impact until people contact us and so contacted me with this testimony it says. Hey Hey Andrew I just I wanted to let you know that your episode with your testimony really hit hard with my oldest son. We live about about an hour from Church and we're listening on the way Sunday night. My son and daughters sister and mother were murdered in a mass shooting. In two thousand nine fine I could tell that my son really was able to relate and feel your pain when speaking about your mother. I didn't let my son go to the funeral because I didn't know how to handle it. I regret that so much I was never. He was never been rebellious but has never been vocal about God. After your testimony he asked me about God and why did God let his mother and sister die. I was able go through the Gospel with him and explain got sovereignty and things Wallet Church at the end of service he asked if he could go forward and pray with the pastor. Mister we're calvinistic church. We don't do the pray. This prayer thing but I truly believe your testimony softened his heart for the Gospel. I appreciate your work so much. My son's name is Isaac and he's fifteen years old at and that was so touching. But wow that is tremendous. I mean to think to the things we do behind this microphone that we often don't think of. I can't wait till the day we get to heaven and see the real impact that we ended up making on the Kingdom with people that we didn't know or listening or reading and the the impact it has on people that we have no way of seeing this side of heaven. Exactly exactly so. I'm I'm so touched by this It's it's an amazing Testimony to have. And you know I I just if if you know this families listening especially for for Isaac. I mean it's it is hard to deal with. You know having dealt with the losing my mother when I was ten. It's hard to deal with life. Sometimes but it is reassuring to know God is sovereign. He knows what he's doing and there's nothing nothing he's going to he's going to allow. That is for no purpose. There's nothing he's GonNa allow. That doesn't give him glory. We may not understand this side of Heaven Evan. But he knows what he's doing. I mean this is the thing. Have to reassure myself with. He's all knowing all good all powerful so he knows everything he's going to do what's best because there's nothing that surprises them. He's capable because all powerful do everything and he's going to do what's good so it's like when I think. Think of those just those three attributes. I realized I may not think things are good but he knows better than me so I just trust them. We never view God big enough. Yeah that's a good point and you know that's GonNa come into play very well for what we're GonNa talk about today but because we're going to talk about. This new movement called Red Letter Christianity. And maybe this is new for some folks. They're going to go okay. What's Red Letter Christianity? We're going to give you what the first thing I wanted to give you from themselves from people that are starting this movement up so you can hear exactly what they believe their goal is and then I want to show you how it's being used because I think it's a little bit seductive. I think what they say and what they do and teach are going to be two different things what they say usually to promote. This is one of the things you always will see. People will say things and it sounds right and therefore you're going to be more trusting of it and then when you see how it's put into practice you go wait a minute that doesn't exactly fit with what you said. Your goal was so. Let me give you the. This is from their website. Red Letter Christian Dot Org their mission. They're about US their values. I use them what we do so. Let me read this to you. Their mission is this staying true to the to the foundation of combining Jesus and Justice Red Letter Christians mobilize individuals into a movement of believers. Who Live out? Jesus counter cultural teaching. So let's start intermission and look at this. They're not just about Jesus. But it's Jesus and justice so here you're seeing if you if you listen to US talk about the dangers of Social Social Justice Movement. This is going to be one of the key things you're going to see. They are about social justice and notice they talk about Jesus Counter Cultural Ultra teachings there the teachings of Jesus counter cultural only because of the fact that he's counterculture to the world and the problem. You're going to see what this movement is. They want to be liked by the world. That's the problem what we teach counter cultural to what they're going to teach. Yeah it's it's can't go without notice that they're very mission is to combine Jesus and Justice and the subtlety of that is missed by the fact that okay we serve a righteous just God These two things go together and they go together in the scripture. But these guys don't get it accurately according to the fullness of the word of God so they have the about us let me read what they say. They are about the goal of red letter. Christians Christians is simple to take Jesus seriously by endeavoring to live out his radical counter cultural literal teachings as set forth in scripture and especially embracing the lifestyle prescribed in the sermon on the mount by calling hauling ourselves. Red Letter Christians we are we refer to the fact that in many bibles the words of Jesus are printed in red that we we are asserting therefore is that we have committed ourselves first and foremost to doing what Jesus said Jesus Calls Us away from the consumerist values that dominate Contemporary America. Instead he calls us to meet the needs of the poor four he also calls us to be merciful which has strong implications of war and capital punishment. After all when Jesus tells us to love our enemies he probably means we shouldn't kill them so that's what they say they're about now if you look even at this again. Their focus focus is the sermon on the Mount which I always find interesting because they want to focus on one area we're going to see him The one of the the guys is behind this. Talk about the sermon on the Mount. But what you see is they want to focus on areas that are pleasing sound good. It's the same reason Jeremiah. Twenty nine eleven is so many people's life first and no one's life versus sixteen seventeen eighteen. They want everything to be good in their life. But what is Jeremiah twenty nine seventeen seventeen thousand nine hundred God is GonNa. He knows the your plans he has for you. Plans a famine and devastatation awarded. No one wants that. Is Our life verse but this is when wants something could but what is their mission. They say their bout with their about is trying to deal with feeding the poor. The feel-goodism that you can get in any religion. There's nothing unique about Christianity with this. Now here's what you see so far. You're not seeing. You're seeing them. Say We take what Jesus says but it's not what Jesus says about repentance. It's not what Jesus says about. Sin And redemption. That is the core if you're GONNA skip the core part of his message. Then you're not talking about Jesus then you've missed the mark precisely right. They are elevating the ethical teaching of Jesus. Listen they're doing that at the very expensive his redemptive work you sacrifice ladder. Whatever you do with regards to the former is just works? That are dead dead and that's the point. That's the whole thing. I'm going to have an issue with this. Whole the whole thing? They do is because their whole thing misses the mark of what the the core message that Jesus came to so look look at their values are the this is what they say. Values are the words of Jesus as authoritative and compelled to do nine things here. They are one all people are made in the likeness and image of God. Okay we could agree with that number. Two Jesus is the Lens through which we understand the Bible and through which we understand the world in which we live okay agree with that..

I think what they say and what they do and teach are going to be two different things with they say usually to promote this is one of the things you always will see people will say things and it sounds right and therefore you're going to be more trusting of it and then when you see how it's put into practice you go wait a minute that doesn't exactly fit with what you said. Two Jesus is the Lens through which we understand the Bible and through which we understand the world in which we live okay agree with that. Do Number three. Doing Jesus work leads to or doing Jesus as work leads due to personal growth and greater understanding. Now here. I'm going to have an issue because when they say Jesus work. I think we're going to have a different view of what it means is to do. Jesus work I'm going to say to Jesus. Work is to share the Gospel that people come to repentance get saved and have attornal life..

Greg Abbott orders, Texas, university boards, university boards to investigate admissions policies after bribery scandal. That's the scandal. Undergoing right now what I think we have some scandal music. Oh, no. That's the wrong had reaching to have some better. Some under my thumb that that's a reference to John Sharp. If you're just listening to the show for one of the first time, John Sharp chancellor at tech stadium, but had some more ominous. Oh, there's the scandal music right there. Yeah. Got it investigated missions policies after the bribery scandal. Texas monthly a week after federal prosecutors charge dozens of people in a massive college admissions bribery, steam governor, Greg Abbott Cinna letter to all Texas regions on public university boards on Monday, directing them to investigate their own admission policies. Quote, the legislature has signed important responsibilities to the governing boards of Texas institutions of higher education, including setting campus, admissions standards, Abbott wrote in the letter every board must therefore closely examine and investigate. It's as mission policies and procedures to ensure that no university employee engages in fraudulent schemes quid pro quo arrangements or improprieties of any sort are universities. University of Texas at Austin was one of several elite universities across the country implicated in the scandal. Let's go back in. Let's try this. Again, let's read. Let's read this through a different thing, shall we? Let's read Abbott's comments one more time. And get this from a different vein. So that we can see the irony involved because I'm sure several of you are already there. The legislature has assigned important responsibility. So governing boards of Texas, Texas institutions of higher education, including sending campus admission standards, Abbott wrote in a letter to regents every board must therefore closely examine and investigate its admission policies and procedures to ensure that no university employee engages in fraudulent schemes quid pro quo arrangements or impropriety of any sort..

"And we talked to a lot of people. The the problem that I see emerging in the house in the Senate is that the house wants to do as speaker said put the money into the district's let the districts use it at their discretion the Senate side. No, we want to go straight to teachers, but the bottom line between those two is this whole property tax discussion, Wes, and it doesn't seem to me that you're going to do much about property tax. Axes in the state share versus local property holders residential property holders, especially without putting that money into the district's hands. So that they can lower their tax rates. All in. And that's part of imagine. What will come out of tomorrow's discussion when we house Bill to the house version of the property type feel goes up for it's hearing tomorrow. And so, you know, there there are so many different ways to look at this. And you talked to anybody anybody will give you a different version of the priority different, you know, approach for how to tackle it. And so, you know, how did you do two separate issues that are so different. But so intertwined you have to approach them both differently and together. I mean, it's. It's complicated for a lot of people. And and. So the the idea is. To navigate. Did you did you? Did you still office or straight? No, that's true. Where? Doing battle with Austin fire department. Go ahead. But anyway, so you know it. It's all gonna come down to you know, is is this going to work in for. The constituent, quite frankly. And and if it doesn't go down the way the constituents want, then they're gonna vote some of these people out if it doesn't go the way that they you know, that they were promised. So we're kind of have to see how it all shakes down. But it's exciting to follow it along as it goes. When you talk about on your live report. Well, I am the behind the scenes of the live report today my co workers talking about freestanding ers and some of the the trials and tribulations come along with those things are kind of shame. I have several other things working on as well. You know, I think really the only people that I might hear anything from is that as as you well know Fung legislature. We we have I have two leaks. We have numbers in. Let's say you're who just don't believe in incentives, really at all, you know, whether you're walking, you know, whether it's about three twelve three thirteen agreements or you're talking about the governor's, you know in abroad fund, or or any of those things just find out. This don't really believe that we ought to be offered incentives that that that, you know, these businesses will come anyway, I don't subscribe it. Obviously, I do think that incentives are not everything that they are part. Of an overall package cities. Right. Right. Absolutely. And so you have to be able to those things and I want local communities to have as many tools as possible. To make sure that they can be successful. You know, not all of us wanna live Dallas or Houston or Austin or San Antonio those find places to visit. But they're not home, you know. And I think about people like me, you know, to voice seventeen and fourteen and a lot of folks that might community share the same thought of you know, sure what like if they choose to the like the fact that maybe my kids could choose to live in east, Texas as well and make a good living. And the only way we do that is to be able to investment economic development communities, which we can do. My mother is a home healthcare nurse, and she's a sane of woman in love her dearly. She's driving. Pulls out from an intersection in somebody's flying down the road to the north. "Hello, miss Leeson. She's a big fan of yours all sorts of stuff to get into today as we roll along on the program. Wes Rappaport Rappaport reports it's pretty cool. Whenever somebody, you know becomes famous in west Rappaport has become that in the state of Texas next star. And he will join us here in about thirty minutes from now, but this is where I want to start the show has been featured now across the state in different publications for an interview we aired with kill cylinder yesterday. Kill Seliger losses chairmanship today because Lieutenant governor who's all in on anything and everything Donald Trump ever said do you wanna go through that list? Opposite your that was my tag in. But it's not I will say, but he lost his chairmanship. But also gained a lot of Texas legend, you know. Yeah. Decks legend, right? And so he took on. You know? Media mogul, Patrick, you know, he says all about them headlines. Yeah. So this is where I'm going to start with all this people are surprised right now that. That kill cellular lost his chairmanship. But here's where I wanna start raven on was he ever not gonna lose his chairmanship was he ever not gonna be sidelined by Lieutenant governor in if you follow Texas politics closely or even check in every once in a while, which you know, is it kill Seliger on behalf. A rural Texas has been a thorn in the side of this Lieutenant governor who has no compass right now, politically he's lost. He's or less on a canoe that is Texas politics and completely misguided. Now people want to cite the show, and I took calls today. Oh, what do you do in there on that show? You're making people, you know. You're making west Texas lose position stick with me for one second. Who came up to the panhandle in tried to beat kill Seliger with two opponents who were virtually? Pretty much the same guy a one in Amarillo one in Midland in try to take him into a runoff who did that that was Alan blakemore who works for Lieutenant governor. That's who did that who took to Luton who took kill Seliger off of higher education and finance the Lieutenant governor who came out and said that kill Seliger. If he doesn't like his committee took him out of context, if he doesn't like his committee needs to let the Lieutenant governor. No. And the Lieutenant governor would replace him who did that Lieutenant governor spokeswoman that's who did. This was always going to happen. This was in the car. I'm surprised it didn't happen last session where the Lieutenant governor came in and took away kill Seliger's chairmanship. That's the news across Texas right now. Kelsey, Seliger losses. Chairmanship, and I don't know who is surprised about it. I mean, why would you be surprised now kill Seliger? Did was it came on this show? We aired the audio yesterday. And he said that the Lieutenant governor's spokeswoman Sherri Sylvester that he has a recommendation for MS Silvester. About her lips and his back end, which I think that was a really respectful way of saying that it was very family, right oriented. I way of saying I think the way in which is really confusing to me is how they're they're really attacking him right now. I really thought hold a whole thought that was a liberal thing. I thought I thought attacking someone's character is something that the left gained backing masculinity in in that. Okay. So look, you're you're looking at a guy right now Daniel the digital guru millennial. Yeah. Who voted for Donald Trump twice twice in the same election of form in the primary and the general, but I know this about Donald Trump, you cannot call. Back end and lips lewd. And also be a strong adherent of this president. Okay. That is a there that's disingenuous and it would take a bridge across the Grand Canyon and logic to make that play out. Why is this so personal?.
