"Your best known of course for leaking the pentagon papers the secret defense department study of the vietnam war and you had spent many years of for the government in vietnam examining the war concluding that it was futile. That there was no way to win it and you had spent many years as a young man as a real patriot. I mean you truly believed in the country you believed in the security clearances right. Pardon me. I think i'm going to make it clear but i wouldn't even want to question to reset that question in a way. I am a patriot. Change and forgive me for putting it that way. I mean you. You are devoted to doing the right thing for your country but at that time you were you respected all of the high level security clearances that you had and it must have been hard for you to take the step of taking this top secret documents and making it public. What did it take to get you to make that step without young men going to prison for nonviolent protest against the draft men that i met on their way to prison. No pentagon papers. It wouldn't have occurred me simply to do something that would put myself in prison for the rest of my life as i assumed that would do so. Obviously that was an obvious decision to make except one side. Seem the example of people like randy taylor and bob eaton and others david harris. Who did go to prison to say that this war was wrong. The vietnam war was wrong and that they refused to participate in it. How hard was it to actually copy the material. Well in those days it was one page at a time. We didn't have these zip zip multi-page co-leaders and whatnot machines that they have no or the course the digital capability so it took me a long time Months actually so you would stay at night in the office copying and then come back during the day. Yes did you did did nightwatchman. Ever come upon you or anything. Well twice in that office which was a Small advertising office owned by a friend of a friend really twice during that period. Police came to the door because she had turned the key. The wrong way instead of the burglar alarm and on one of those occasions i children were there. That was one time. Police came in and found my son running xerox machine. You know i think. I was running the machine and he was collating or might have been the other way around. He was then thirteen and my daughter who was ten was cutting off top secret from the tops and bottoms of the pages with the with the scissors. The reason they were there was that. I expected to be in prison very shortly. I hope to get the papers out quickly..

"At adak yossi laser. Yeah i'll do it better. We're we're glad you're back and talk about lacrosse. I have so many coming from long island new york. It's across heaven and and i have so many friends in the college coaching world in lacrosse. But it's just not even something that. I even have a fraction of a minute for now. You know with being exclusively working with the high school football players and things have been really busy because we we've kicked off kind of camp series and we've had various kamson combines which Well tell you it opens. It opens my eyes as a recruiter to some of the players that you know i have not yet seen but also give me a closer look at some of the guys that are already with me so it benefits us in many ways all right. So let's talk about those can't so what's what's cooking while today is the under armour camp and that's you know a a very prestigious series of cam sped under armor puts on. There's no cost and players will come out there. They'll get out that it in in all under armored year and they'll go through a series of drills an invite only caliber camp to compete in the under armour game. So it's a great Privilege to get out there and we. We've got a lot of guys. You know. Young men that you covered. You're gonna be out there angel floor is the quarterback from casa grande. We're very excited to see him. Perform out there and a couple of others. We have showing up but most recently I had a arizona. Combine locally here is doing a great job. I brought a couple of guys out to and Johnny noriega young writers hit twenty two wide receiver. I have that At a healer ridge he did amazing Guy and hegel you gotta chaparrals won the award for that that the combine palestinians in a young man that you covered also He got the fastest forty combine. So the meyrick. Kyw's performed really well at the arizona. Combine nice and we were pretty excited. you know there. There's a lot of great combines and camps out there but there's also a lot Ga- i was with gary howard last week. Gary howard runs the n. P. showcases n. P. showcases a series that travel the country. I've known him for some time. randy taylor worked with him. Who is the recruiting coordinator from ucla for twelve years. These guys are big on the block. There are no joke so we a lot of a lot of our players. Come out there. But i also was able to see a lot of local talent that didn't cross my retreats desk and we were able to get them on board. So we're even more excited about that. I see matthew mcclellan out there from our pay threats who's a two-time ed dougherty nominee young man sitting on twitter. Forty eight dollars. i mean it. Who are you seeing in terms of schools or conferences out here. That are trying to make a splash that maybe had in the past but all of a sudden now. Have a flurry of activity out here. Is there any one school or conference. You're seeing more than any other well the nfc conference. I think is doing a great job. Particularly you'll see you know. Northern state has really made a big push out here grabbing Mason osborne and a few other guys so the thises division to conference mainly in the north of the country. But i feel like they have. They have really Establish themselves in and recruiting out here. Southwest minnesota state has made unbelievable push out. You see more sure bowler boilerman. The linebackers coach is A good friend of mine and he is really just dove in. And you know he's getting a chance dirty and that's what and that's what it's about these recruiters you have to get involved. You gotta get to know these these kid. You gotta get to know these families and i and i had a conversation with a college coach at finally. I hate to sound like an idiot. "I also noted that there are resource is available on the statewide level, including tax incentives and rebates, incentives and other things that non fiction filmmakers almost never were taking advantage of. And I started to wonder why. So I launched a research project to kind of figure that out and what I discovered was, wow, there's a lot more available. It's potentially on the table then, so makers are aware of or know how to tap into. It's not an easy system to navigate by any means. But I don't believe that things should be hidden or veiled or mysterious. And so I set about trying to communicate that in a simple way as possible, and that became the indie film money map. I'm not letting some dark filmmakers might think that the tax incentives air for you know simply for scripted features that bring big money into a state. That is the assumption exactly. But for 30 States plus Puerto Rico nonfiction films are eligible the program's change every year, So the idea wasn't to say. This guide will always be factually correct. The guide was designed to say this is how these programs work and bread resource is for people to look into them individually. But the assumption is even that it's only for fiction films or that the minimum spend is going to be massive because we're making a mass of Hollywood film. But oftentimes the minimum spend is not massive. So we made an easy chart. Two people can see quickly. What's the minimum stand in each state? What's the potential incentive, etcetera. It certainly seems that you know, we we have a lot of documentary filmmakers on this show, and the streamers have definitely seemed to play a role in enhancing the world for documentary filmmakers. I don't know Garrett, whether you have any feelings one way or the other about how your films they're seen. Yeah, I don't. I don't know. I mean, if we live in such a way that we live in such a fluid world right now, where the theatrical experience you know, specifically with co vid I have to say, I'm not sure what that means. Right now, You know, I think that access and meeting as many people as possible for me is paramount. And it's sort of by all means necessary. Whether that's in theaters whether that's on a streaming platform whether that's on YouTube. I think it's a conversation and I think it changes from one project to the next. I think with time specifically and you know, this is my first feature length documentary film. I've never gone through this process before this journey of selling a film at Sundance and and actually having something properly distributed on him. Large scales of future, but I know that you know, big part of that conversation with Amazon was really trying to say well. This is an issue that affects the majority of our country. And so it needs to be in a place that is as accessible as James Bond. You know, it needs to be a success. Herbal is buying deodorant. You know, it needs to be present and available on Di Think a streamer like Amazon is able to facilitate that not only just by that this year number of people that they reach but also You know, I think we've been incredibly lucky to have a really collaborative team where they listen to our feedback. You know, for Thanksgiving, for instance, the film was brought in front of the pay wall because we know that Thanksgiving Is a huge part. A sort of a marking point is Fox talks about in the film for many incarcerated families, and so we've tried to find as many different ways as possible. To reach people in if you say in pandemic time is something moved to some degree, right? It was already pandemic by the time the film came out, is that right? Yeah, it was, And it actually presented even deeper questions around just the ethics of You know, putting too much emphasis on the theatrical experience. When we understand that Cove it was affecting black and brown communities at unprecedented levels and unequal levels. What would it mean to try to speak to our target audience while also encouraging them to go to theaters, you know, so we really had to be innovative. We had to reinvent the path a little bit. And on defined, you know, really think about two dimensional space in the Internet as a space for there to be a zit being the main space in the main place for the conversation to a certain extent. You guys are in very much, according to my colleague, Scott Feinberg. In the Oscar conversation. I don't know what you thinking. In the beginning when it was going back and forth, Garrett thats could be an Oscar movie or do that never even occurred to you. Oh, no. I mean, I can't imagine a world in which I would ever assume something like that he had. No I mean, I think, um I think that Feeling accepted. Feeling scene is meaningful to all of us, you know, making films is an incredible amount of hard work for everybody that's involved and Certainly the possibility of that hard work being accepted and celebrated. Is a dream come true, but I've never really allowed myself. To be honest with you. And maybe I will regret saying this out loud, but I think I don't have a whole lot of precedent. You know, I haven't seen a lot of other black women in the documentary field. Get that far And so it's been hard for me to imagine that for myself, I'm really trying to honor the work that we've done collectively to celebrate how far we've gone and hopefully You know, Hopefully, that continues actually, no matter what. Parent, Bradley is the director of the documentary time. Randy Taylor is the head of the artists in Residence program at Concordia Studio. Thank you both so much for joining us. Thank.

"But the defense Absolutely just garbage. And you know, some people might say, Well, the Cowboys should have focused on the defensive backfield instead of getting city Lam. I like having city land myself because of course I'm a Fantasy fans. So I like the offense, but the Cowboys have a lot of issues in the defensive backfield. Their defensive line is an absolute mess. Right now. All of the players they signed in the offseason basically are gone right? Everything is gone. Gerald McCoy got hurt? Never played, Don Terri, but I mean, everybody we added during the offseason help how Clinton Dix didn't even make the final roster. How bad is you Gotta be kidding. Theo Cowboys Final roster with that horrible depends of vacuum. Whatever, man, it is what it is. I'm looking forward to 2021 for for more than more than a few reasons. The Cowboys being one of them. Let me go to another NFL question. Then you know people who know things. Why have they not pushed back? The Packers 40 Niners game. I could only guess. At this point because Aaron Raj, I was still playing the I would think I would think that if it were a scenario that we're going on. For Sunday game, and this game wasn't nationally televised and Aaron Rodgers wasn't playing in the game. Then maybe things would be different. Right? I don't know that they want to lose. A Thursday night game. Now they could potentially have moved it like they did with was Buffalo, Kansas City. They moved from Thursday to a doubleheader on Monday. That could have been something that they could have done. This might also have something to do with the fact that teams have already had their buys, and let's be honest, the NFL Has kind of been bulldozing through covert. Even though they've had a lot of issues. They're kind of bulldozing their way through it. So tomorrow night, you're going to see Potentially a practice squad player as the number one running back for Green Bay. Dexter Williams, who I have picked up in a whole bunch of leagues, because that's how bad it is The Niners. The Niners are an absolute train wreck. You want to talk about injuries? Well, and that would have been their number one receiver, and he right that they let him go eat with the Giants now, so the number one receiver is what Richie James and Trent Taylor. I think Richie James might be questionable. For the game. I mean, they may need to call Tio and Jerry Rice and bring back Bring back Japan. Didn't you just say John Taylor is going to be the number one receiver for the 40 Niners? Randy Taylor. Oh, I think you said John Taylor that are going to start thinking John Taylor is probably better than what they have That disaster. I mean, think about agreement talkers, defense is is a nice streaming option. Without question, But I mean, the Niners have nothing there back field right now is Michael Hasty? Who no one even really talked about fantasy draft and then jerk. McKinnon, who snaps have been significantly scaled back tires on a couple of weeks. Hey, Harvey and I are starting to Michael Lacey and our faith in our Ah Celebrity league that we do with you. We have no choice. We have to start in this week. You know what, Though? It's actually a good place. The Packers defense there saw fel against the run Their terrible against the run like Dalvin Cook put of historic numbers again. They're terrible. So I like that play. I'm actually playing hasty in one of my leagues as well. But hopefully Aaron Jones, Khun go. He's questionable at this point, but if you can't go, it's going to be Dexter Williams as starting running back for the Green Bay Packers, I would suggest Aaron Rodgers is probably going to throw for 3 50, maybe three touchdowns. Davante Adams probably comes down with a couple of those touchdowns and the Niners. It is just an absolute nightmare. You've got their top three running backs or hurt Right now you've got what their top three wide receivers are hurt or Have coded or on the covert Alicia and and a little bit of irony here, Okay? Kendrick, Born is in my celebrity fantasy Football League. I played him last week. He didn't have a win. I have the most points scored in the league. He beat me. And he had I think what? Eight for 71 last week or seven for 81 last week, and that was the difference. He beat me based on the point that he scored and now He's got cover on he's out. Unreal, unreal. He's on Twitter at Michael underscore Fabbiano That's at Michael's underscore Fabiano senior fantasy annals for Sports.

"Let's listen. I'm worried that we love all these situations in together, and I feel just bad to young leader lost her life. But You know, we do have to take into account that whole boyfriend did shoot at the cops and shot a cop. So, like I say, even though I'm really sorry she lost her life. I don't think that we can just say we can put this in the same situation with Joe is flawed. And Ahmad Aubrey, I just don't believe that, Sir Charles, in the words of me, Lonard McKelvey. But I guess now Dave Chappelle since he used this phrase the other night at the Emmys Shut the F up forever. Okay? I don't understand much like Torrey lanes. Why right now? Charles Barkley is talking. Well, I take that back. I understand why he's talking is his job as it is mine, But if you are going to talk about a situation like this, could we deal with the reality of this situation? Could we deal with the facts of the situation? Simple and plain Charles. Brianna's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker is a law abiding citizen who has never been arrested. Ever. He was a legal gun owner who thought someone was breaking into his house. There is not a gun owner person on the planet, All right, especially here in America who would not have done the same thing. He literally fired a single shot one shot now. To scare what he thought with intruders, Charles said her boyfriend, Randy Taylor's boyfriend, kind of Walker shot at the cops that if he was just in his crib, so I was the police and started recklessly busting. No, that's not how it is. When Charles I am a black man from South Carolina born and raised G to the core, and I totally believe in the second Amendment. We all have the right to keep and bear arms can of Walker was illegal gun owner He was doing what the Constitution says Americans can do. But sadly, Charles Barkley, like so many white folks in this country doesn't think the Constitution applies the black people. That could be the only excuse Charles Because I don't see why you would get on TV and paint a picture of kin of Walker in this way when the reality is even that crooked ass judicial system in Kentucky, originally charged with attempted murder of a police officer, and then those charges that indictment Was dismissed without prejudice. Now, Charles I don't know if you know in that we can have walk and filed a lawsuit you can if it's seeking immunity for firing one shot that injured a Louisville officer tonight to search warrant was executed. He is seeking immunity under Kentucky Stand your ground law, which protects anyone acting under self defense. Contrary to your popular belief child, Barclay Kenneth was acting on your self defense as king of, say, Briana and I didn't know who was banging on the door with the police know what they did. Charges brought against me were meant to silence me and cover up. Brianna's murdered. We have that audio clip. We played it. I was laying in bed with Briana around.

"City. The Reverend Philip James of Mount Zion Baptist Church, says that's just part of the plan that Indianapolis clergy have come up with to help stop the violence as best they can. Another part of that plan is a demand for a meeting between the mayor I MPD chief Randy Taylor and the clergy involved. They also plan a social media marketing campaign and have asked all churches, synagogues and mosques to preach peace from the pulpit. Chris Davis, 93 WNBC Mobile news person was shot and killed on Andy's Westside Sunday night. That's now the 119th homicides so far in 2020. The federal government hasn't executed anyone in 17 years. But that's likely to change today because the seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the execution of Daniel Lewis Lee can go forward in Terra Haute. It's something the sisters of Providence Catholic Congregation prayed would not happen when they had a vigil in your goodness. You have given us the awesome power to generate life. And also to take it away. Be with us Oh God. Lee was convicted in 1999 in Arkansas for the killing of two adults and an eight year old child. Li's family convinced a lower court to put the execution on hold, but this ruling on Sunday overturned that lower court's ruling. "Abdul, You're you're fired up about black lives matter since you could say things I can't the floor is yours, My friend. OK, alright, man, So let's set the scene for everybody because I wake up and I opened the social media's and There's you being very upset about black lives matter. They they went after the Indianapolis police chief yesterday. Is that right? Yes. What they did Wass. It's a story by our friends at Fox, 39. Black lives matter. Protestors honked horns to make themselves heard early Sunday morning. Outside the home of Metropolitan Police chief Randy Taylor. So wait a second. They were driving past his house honking their horns and Sunday morning at six clock Now I know I don't know what the rule about driving past someone's house honking your horn is I know you're not supposed to cut your grass until 9 a.m. on the weekends. Well, let's put it this way. The black lives matter. Okay, They're there to demand action Not on the case of the Shinri but also Mikael Rosa's well. Both men were shot and killed by MPD on May 6. The group gathered at six seconds Michigan, where Reed was killed around 5:30 a.m. And from there, they headed to chief Taylor's neighborhood. They say their voices aren't heard downtown. So maybe leaders will listen when protesters are at the doorstep. Underestimate a few laps. They honk their horns and make demands. They wanted autopsy report and reach deathly release. What they're asking for more. No. Give me two civilians since we're here. This is what the officers be fighting to Shawn Reeves case at any apples, Black lives matter. Organizer Kyra J. Only the officer killed Rashad, but the officer that made the comments about him afterwards laying there dead. By these laying there on the ground, the group said they are great for the demands met so far such a special prosecutor being named in Reese case. Names off has been released, but a dozen in there they say they have more demonstrations planned. But of course, they will have to wait and find out when and where. Okay. So last night Five more people were shot in our city. One person was killed. And yet the same people are completely silent on that and Abdul this sort of stunt, which I think we talked about this for one on there. That's basically what this is. It just starts to seem very political. It's not even political. It's ridiculous. And here's why, because number one Driving through somebody's neighborhood at six o'clock in the morning, honking horns. It's not going to endure you when you any friends or any favors because you see it's not just the person that you're honking the horn and I can hear you. It's the neighbors that can hear you too. And the neighbors going. Come on. What's all that damn noise? That's going to be happening. Number one, not Number two. You're absolutely right. We're now in what 100 for 106 murders so far in Indianapolis. 70 80% of them have been African American. And not a peep out of black lives matter Movement, and I'm a firm believer that black lives are going to matter. Then they should matter all the time where they're taken by somebody with a police officer uniform or not taking a police office uniforms. And the fact That these people Have gone nuts over John Reed, who, by the way, fired shots at police officers. Let's make that perfectly clear. And McHale Rose, who remembers is correct, tried to ambush police officers. I'm sorry, but guys, I wrote this on WNBC that common in deposited or are these really the hills? You want to die on today? Because if they are, we gotta have a meeting after the show. We really do because this is ridiculous and a big part of this and we talked about this when we filled in for the chicks over the past couple weeks. We get a lot of occasion I'd loved I want their agent. They negotiated a hell of a deal, but We talked about this that a big part for many of us is I want to listen. I want to hear what you have to say. And if there are viable and achievable things that will better the lives for all of us A Moliere's But this doesn't seem like anything other than just agitation. When very serious issues that we should all come together on. You don't seem to care all about well, like I said, the thing is Ah, John Reed and Mikhail Rose, where we're not the best actors in the universe. Now I feel for their families. Because I don't want anybody family had to go through. You know the loss of a loved one. But with that said You know, the investigation's going to come out is going to end is going to do what it's supposed to do. But this honking horns and early said he went outside the police. She's home and waking him up waking up his neighbors. The company was came out like Saint chasing people away with brooms. I think it was to rob Kendall and Bill came Shabbas infer the Czechs. Let's switch gears to what was again another tragic night of violence in our city hall before we do, we do, Teo Darius Johnson wrote on Twitter. Neighbors have come out to ask people to leave casing with car bats. They called police also tell me they're breaking the noise sort. And so I and we saw this in ST Louis. I'm sure you've seen this video of these people who are defending their home in ST Louis came out with the very high powered weaponry say and get off my lawn. I am very concerned. This is going to turn Violent quick because let's face it this. This guy's a police you He's trained on how to deal with this sort of stuff. But if you're the average person you wake up and this is going on, you have no idea what's gonna happen and something very tragic could happen. Ah, for behaving like that. I think the good news is in Indianapolis is that's just not how Indianapolis's However, hopefully these people got the right house. All right, So let's let's switch gears. I send you the template of what we were going to talk about last night and I knew I almost put it in the email that I sent to you. I said, Here's the story on violence so far. I know as soon as I wake up, we're going to have to readjust this because that's just what happens. It doesn't seem as though the mayor has any desire. Five more shootings Last night alone, one person dead. It doesn't seem Abdullah's, though the mayor has any desire to tackle this, and so I guess it's just not going to end for at least 3 3.5 more years. Well, the thing is, and here's my problem with the man..

"And today we're GONNA start off in South East South Dakota In Minot saying hello to Randy Taylor Cherokee Cowboy and pro announcer. He is also choctaw and he is the host of native voice one radio segment word with champ. Thanks for joining us for another native America. Calling Randy the pleasures mindshare. Hello Hello so Randy. When we think about being that athlete and then there comes a time to start a new chapter We turn to you and talk to me. A little bit about Having a career in sports it's been somewhat natural for me. My Dad was a race. Car driver He was a first generation race car driver. His popularity grew in the sixties after starting on a drag racing strip and then he continued in dirt track circuit racing in Oklahoma where I'm from. They called it super modified and then he graduated industry car right think which went with the big boys. We moved to Tennessee and then came back home where he were. Instead of building and designing and driving cars he simply showed up to the race track with a helmet bag so my life in sports. I would say that certainly began with him and his dedication and watching him win lose crash and continue to follow a passion that he had and and I think that developed my passion for sports starting and wrestling and the child sports that we do in in peewee baseball pop warner football and continued on into the Rodeo circuit. So that that's how I began. And it's been a blessing for me ever shits insulated when you think of being that athlete and then moving into the position that du Sir that you feel very well now How do you think that to work together? Beat ANNOUNCER AND ACTUALLY. What's happening There in the arena. I feel that the opportunity to have accepted victory and defeat and knowing what it takes to be successful and what sports comes defeat. I mean. That's huge you know you look Babe Ruth. He struck out more than he had home runs and he's probably the greatest Baltron as many other athletes. Are I believe that There are some announcers that are dedicated to being announced that. Do not have a background in sports but I think they have to really dig in and dig within themselves and do a lot of research but are believed that being an athlete from the ground up as provides a lot of authenticity. When you know how a man feels or a woman feels when they when they're experiencing that in the arena and then transferring the emotion to a a ticket by customer. What when that does happen. Or maybe even your ability to interpret. Why certain While in the Rodeo arena. It's not plays but but maybe why Even a bull did something that it did. You have that kind of insight in a lot of times when we are those athletes in action We don't necessarily know what those lessons that we learn as were moving and competing What they may help us with in the Future Randy. When you think about that knowledge you regaining when you were in the love. The sport Helping you out years later. What do you think about that? That's a good thoughts and and I think that There are a lot of lessons learned on the field or on the match or in the race track and the race car on about can horse. I take the probably the biggest lie that we all learn. Sports Humility No matter how bad you think you are. There's GonNa be a bucket horse. It's coming along and he's going to hurt you and he's going to throw you off and and and bury your head in the sand in front of a lot of people and some of those people are your friends and family or you might be sixteen hundred miles away from home so so so no matter how much success you have and whatever endeavor you pursue. I believe that's that's where the biggest lessons that we can learn. And in the sports arena or at a microphone especially. I am challenged today I have. I have challenges that are presented and I have to stop and think how would I have handled this? How do I handle this? And what would my peers and mentors? How would they handle this? And I and I and I think that you are correct in that speaking on a market sold about sports she participated in certainly gives you an advantage in a leg up and so talk to us a little bit about the announcing announcing that you do this weekend I was in Waterloo Iowa and a coors bull riding classic next weekend. I am a monster truck. Show in rapid city South Dakota. I've had the privilege of announcing the Indian National Finals Rodeo six times and I've had the opportunity to announce the championship of champions. Which is the Indian relay horse racing Championships at the Horse. Nations Indian Relay Council. This'll be the sixty or coming up. I believe it is scheduled in Walla. Walla we started in billings and then went to Walla Walla. The past couple of years
