"And if this had happened, the bed would have been known as help. Hendrix Everson Lincoln Palmer. Look at that. I guess that's real. That's real. That's interesting. Did you know that? Mark Smith. I bet you didn't. I bet you Perry dead of it to do it, though. And Lou, because Lou has that, it is, it is notebook. The little colicchio notebook, the infamous notebook. Hey, hey, Mark Smith. I want to know since you're watching. Have you put any notes in that gigantic notebook that you bought to compete with? The Lou colicchio, what do you call it? Novel. Let's see. On this day in 2019, Ozzy Osbourne offered $25,000 as a reward, I have 13 F okay. 13 glorious pages. Boxman's getting there. He's getting there. You guys will be on again soon. I kind of miss you guys. I got this to you guys. On this day in 2019, Ozzy Osbourne offered $25,000 as a reward for the return of stolen instruments previously owned by his late guitarist, Randy rhoads, after the school of music in north Hollywood, was robbed on Thanksgiving night. The stolen instruments included Rhodes's first electric guitar at 1963 harmony rocket as well as a rare martial prototype made specifically for roads. I would assume those are probably in a private collection by then. Probably went right into a private collection. And on this day in 2021, Scottish singer songwriter, Steve brodsky, died from smoke inhalation in a fire at his home in Soho London at age 61. He was a cofounder and keyboard player of the group, Broadsky beat. Known for the signals, small town boy, and why. He was also well known as an LGB activist, it was openly gay himself from an early age. That's what the song small town boy is about. I believe Jimmy Somerville is the lead singer, the bronski beat. That's a great song. Small town boy is one of my favorite 80s songs. It's a great song.

"Goddamn. Fucking Steve I dude, powerful, so good. So powerful. I'm good. Thank you. Dude, I went to concert with Cory. It was like generation axe. Just on a whim, right? Like he just called me, was like, yo, you should cover this concert with me because nobody else wants to. Everybody else, nobody else can. You know what? I was like, you know what? It's a free ticket, a free ride and free in a free drink ticket when we get there too. There's literally nothing for me to lose going up there. Fucking Steve I headlined. He was there. The guitarist from animals as leaders. Was there? The dude who played in Black Sabbath after Randy rhoads died was there? What? The guy, you know that song at plays in Bill & Ted when they're in the mall with all of the historical figures that do you wanna play that one? That guy, the guitarist, was there too. Right? So Zach, I think it's Zach wild is the guy who is from Black Sabbath. He starts doing war pigs, right? And was walking through the aisles just dude, I need fucking slay in this fucking solo to just all the way up and into the balcony. And then all of a sudden the spotlight turns on and fucking Steve is just sitting in the middle of the audience fucking guitar in hand and just starts fucking shredding right like perfectly along with him, dude. And then the rest of the stage lights up. And the kids from animals as leaders is fucking due. And his thing too, and it was like a symphony that I've never, it was fucking amazing, dude. Best, most impromptu concert I've ever been to in my life period ever. And you know what? I think this is the best, most impromptu podcast that you've ever listened to because this is fun and soul pies. And this is your weekly information dump your impromptu if you're coming here for your information you're probably in the wrong place. Are you done? No. The falsettos will continue. I think it's funny. Annoying. Not funny. For sure. Sounds like a stupid little doctor pepperman. It sounds like a small feeling. But let's be honest. If Evan was full gay, full gay, he would be a twink. There's no doubt about it. What are you talking about? Like Freddie Mercury twink level gay. Mustache and all. I had to buy a lot of wife beaters. Tosca. I get 12 pack of. Oh, I hate you. I damn it. That was funny. I was good. All right. Well, what are we talking about today guys? Because. That's just a solid question. I don't know either. Okay. So I mean, things are 100% in stone, but they are 95% stone that I'm going to be spending some time in Florida, helping those folks down there after this hurricane. We're going to be moving a whole bunch of equipment. We got a whole bunch of generators, a whole bunch of water. I mean, all sorts of stuff to go down there and basically help rebuild, so I mean, that sounds like what's going to be happening for me here in the next month or so. Good for you. Way to make a direct impact. It's going to be interesting. We'll see what happens. For sure. We're set up pretty good. I mean, that's what we've been doing. The past week or so they're leaving tomorrow morning. With the RV and a Taylor packed full of generators, water, all sorts of shit. They head down there. So my prediction is, right? You go down to Florida to help some folks out and stuff like that. You meet angel. A.m., right there. And then you never come back to Colorado Springs. I was going to hear. Because I'm really close to Sarasota. Which I know a few people there. But yeah, angel, mikaela, all them angel just gets over the whole height thing, which is the only thing from stopping her from. Right there, boom. I don't know if I was in some vodka, but I'm gonna do it. Fucking one night, I was supervisor for the night. And it was just me and her, you know, after a little while after we closed, and I don't know, I can't remember exactly what happened, but all I remember is she looked over me, she was like, oh, what do you mean? We could have been just like fucking in the back that whole time. And I was just like fuck. Yes. No, I do it. 100% of the time every time. All the time. Yeah. For sure. No, I mean, good for you. Good for you. That is actually really cool that that's what you are doing. I know it's going to be interesting. And we got a badass. I was just staying in. We got a couple jobs signed up to. Just figure out how people. So when exactly are you leaving? Listen two weeks within two weeks, for sure. Well, best of luck to you, see how this all seeks out. I should still be available via phone to do this. So, I mean, that's my hope I'd like to keep it rolling. I don't want to just completely go nav since or maybe even maybe I can take one of these and see if I can figure something out. I mean, I doubt it, but maybe no, no. Well, we have other mics. Yeah, I took a lesser mic. If you had a laptop and you got the right cord, you could have the balanced to a USB into a laptop, like that, and then you could use that at microphone. If we had the video figured out, we could just do it that way, but it would still be better quality with the mic. It is what it is. Oh yeah, in fact, so cell service down there is still a major problem as well. I guess sir, I was all sorts of troubles with that waters back on. But power looks like it could be upwards of three weeks or more. For

"It doesn't have to say anything because he's like, I own this. You know? That's what you do with that. You learn how to be a fucking criminal, buddy. Jesus. Fucking people. Hey, what's your favorite Aussie song? My favorite Aussie song. Wow. There's a couple of them. I've always liked flying high again. I've always liked, you can't kill rock and roll. I love both of those songs. Mine. Yeah, I don't know. Far and away. And it's probably his darkest song as a soloist. No more tears. That fucking yeah, great. Yeah, great. That fucking song, it's just Doc. If you listen to the lyrics, he's basically a serial killer. And he fucking kidnaps his girl and torches her terrorizes her fucking kills her. And then goes out, he goes back out, kisses the dead corpse, and then fucking, I gotta go out again, right? Now, what's that? I have to tell you, those first Aussie tours. So I was lucky enough that I actually got to see him at the orpheum with Randy Rhodes. Fantastic. And I had some buddies of mine from winthrop where we actually had kind of our annual track trek because Ozzy toward every year in the early 80s and whatnot. So after Randy rhoads was gone, we actually saw them with like Brad Gillis from night ranger and that crew. Those early tours were a fantastic Aussie was a hell of a lot of fun. As a matter of fact, I think the second time, I think the first time we saw them, if I remember correctly, motorhead was the opening act. The second time we saw them, Mötley Crüe was the opening act. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, nice. Those were those were amazing tours. Those are great. So the story behind how that song came about no more tears. The bass player was just kind of riffing around. And he hits that.

"Ozzy Osbourne's no more tears, my favorite Aussie song of all time. And that guitar solo is performed by a young and energetic Zack wild. And that dude, his solos were lightning. He was, if you listen to the solo on that, it is heavy, man. And, of course, he went on to form a black label society, right? Yeah. Yeah. I'll tell you, Ozzy, you know, he's almost a caricature of himself. You know, people, you know, they rag on him because of the way that he speaks and moves around and whatnot. He's, you know, he's had a very interesting and activity filled life with a lot of different substances and whatnot. And he's definitely paying the price of it. But one of the things that you can't deny is that great songwriter and has some great great fantastic albums, especially some of the early ones. But more so than anything. That guy could put together a band. You think about the list of guitar plays that he had playing with him throughout the years, whether it was Brad Gillis from night ranger, you know, whether it was Zack wild or whether it was Randy rhoads or whether it was Tony Iommi, I mean, that guy has played with some of the most talented guitar plays in some of the greatest soloists of all time. Yeah, he knows. He knows what to put around him. That's for sure. No doubt. No doubt. So yeah, no more tears. Solo by Zach wild. And you got to give him credit for in the video. If you watch the video, he has this iconic bullseye Gibson guitar. It's great fucking guitar. It's looks good, plays good, just the whole package. All right, what do you have next Jack? You break it up. There you go. Now I can hear you. That New Hampshire Wi-Fi is kicking in again. So Zack wild you know, because we're talking about guitarists and whatnot. That bull's eye or a circle guitar, however you describe it is one of the he's one of those folks that you see his guitar and you know it's his. You know, there are just some people in the world of rock that had, you know, those those guitars that were iconic, right? So some of them that come to mind. Obviously, Eddie Van Halen with his kramers in the early days, you know, with his Frankenstein, which was something that he called together from a couple of different guitars. You know, you think of Randy rhoads with a flying V and the polka dots, you know, you think of Zach wild. Even Eric Clapton or David Gilmore, both played stratocasters, but they played those famous black houses or even Pete Townsend playing the Les Paul with a number on the bottom of it. You know, they all they all had their ways that you could identify their guitars. Stevie Ray Vaughan's offender strat all worn out with the SV SRV on those like they're not glitter like prism letters. Yeah. Yeah. So why don't we stick with that because that's actually who I was going to bring up next. So Stevie Ray Vaughan is absolutely one of my favorite guitar players of all time. In his version of. Texas flood. Yes. Is one of those even though it's him and only him that's playing guitar. You could almost consider it a little bit of a jam just because it goes on and on and on. But that guy was such an amazing guitar.

"I'm sure people have heard that song and they just might not have known it was Gary Newman or I'm telling you that the majority of our audience have never heard that song. Then I hate my audience. He's The Godfather of Santa how could they not know this? He's The Godfather of synth pop. He actually, he listened to craft work, right? And he's like, he loved it. He loved the police. He's like, I can't do that. How can I take this to the next level? So he's pretty ingenious how he marketed himself how he created this persona and actually the guy is afraid of his own shadow. He's very, he was very reclusive. He was shy, and here we go, oh, he's got the IT I finally came in when the show's about to end. And all he does is dog. Well, you know, it's because we generally started 8 o'clock. You can't yell at them for being on time, God damn it. We started early. Hey, hey, we're coming up on 6000 downloads. I want to see my outro, well, you didn't get any hot sauce for Christmas anyways, so. But yeah, so let's jump into it. He didn't get any hot sauce. I haven't gotten any hot sauce. I carry this guy. Randy rhoads was a big flying V player, although I don't know that it was a less Paul. I think it was kind of a custom job. Certainly, a lot of people in the 70s were big flying V people. I think the guys in triumph played it. The guys in blue oyster cult Judas Priest, I think. You know, the funny thing is, is you didn't see any of the big classic groups play it. Like you didn't see the who, well, the stones. No, no. Jimi Hendrix, Mark Bolin, Billy Gibbons, big flying V guy. As Perry, Perry died of it, Lonnie Mack. Yeah. Oh, and 2015 after keeping quiet for more than 40 years, Kali Simon admitted that you're so vain was about Warren Beatty, but only one verse of it. She said the other verses were about two other men. See, now I can come clean. And by the way, Carly Simon, greatest mouth in the history of music. Kali Simon has the best mouth in the Sheryl Crow is probably second. Yeah, now people are gonna go look at Kali Simon's mouth when she sings. Greatest mountain music. I pay attention to I don't even know how to respond to that. I pay attention to Jack. I pay attention. I think that Carly Simon is just an absolutely talented genius woman. I don't think her physical beauty comes into play at all. I don't objectify women like that. Okay, sure. On this day in 1975, the mayor of Boston canceled the Led Zeppelin concert after over 2000 fans rioted, trying to buy tickets. The fans caused an estimated 50,000 to $75,000 worth of damage to the Boston garden. The gig during the band's North American tour was rescheduled for February 4th. And I think we talked about that. Very famous event those asshole kids ruined our opportunities to see Led Zeppelin. It's fucking bostonians. They ruined it was probably freaking brothers. Yeah. Well, someone we know. I'm sure. He would have lost his shirt if they had canceled the tour, So they pushed the dates back, and I went to it anyway. And Ozzy did not want to be there. He was hammered. And he was just going through the motions. Hurting. Yeah. I never got to see Randy Rhoads play live. That was was that a plane crash? That was a plane crash, where they were taking a break from the tour. There were on and Randy and I think it was the makeup artist and one of the roadies who had a pilot license. Ran to the little Cessna, and then they all got drunk and decided to fly a plane and buzz. The tour bus where Ozzy was wrapped out drunk and the landing gear. They almost killed Ozzie. "Well dude. I never heard that. Before i guess wild. I think i've said. I think i've told this story a couple of times on the show and i always edited out because it's not relevant but we went. I saw him like three years in a row. He was like the headliner for the asbury park. Sir festival and one year was like my wife. And i were like fuck it. Let's go twenty bucks. Sure i knew who he is. I saw pulp fiction. And he was like he was seventy eight and he had to get like they're playing at the wunderbar little tiny place in his report he had to get held up on stage. That was our body the help them. yes like. You see the guy just helping on stage. That's our buddy. While though any jokes like he can't play too hard 'cause he's going to blow out his colostomy bag like i'm only playing because i'm trying to earn enough money to pay for my cancer treatment. Yeah they were like man. This is going to be real sad but the biggest fucking sound came as he had that guitar his hand it was like he was no longer a frail person. Historians use a. He played that song nitra his hands. Were just as fast as you just heard unbelievable and like there was like a fan by his face. Ponytail was blowing away and i remember like the whole thing ended. Everybody walked out. My wife. And i were standing there. We walk outside and we didn't say a word to each other just like holy shit. What did we just see. There's a there's a some great recording stick do with sceviour avon. If you ever see my have not do with this week is also. I mean dick dale. I wondering how big his fingers were like. Well you hear like song like that. It'd been them like up and down the neck. His fingers must have been huge. It's as right hand because he's so fucking fast right hand's doing to picking you know what i mean. It's the fast so he's and it's also is instrument. He's left handed right so he was playing the guitar upside down but it wasn't like like so hendrix did that and hendrik switched all the strings right. Dick left them the way they were so we really talk completely upside out while really for his never do that. Yeah it's crazy. And he said like i guess he did he play a lot of he played cords play chords. He made up his own way to play. That's what his sound was. He invented a sound that it was his own. Nobody can sound like him and he was like when he was playing in like southern california with the same place where leo fender was coming up. And it's a dick. Dale was playing so much he was. He was blowing out his amps. 'cause he was trying to play this enormous sound leo fender developed like the stacking amplifiers where the amp sat on top of the speaker cabinet. He did that so dick. Dale could play as loud as you too so how much he influenced the creation of like audio equipment and stuff like that and he said he would actually play so fast in a used Such a heavy pick that even almost like he would burn through his guitar. Strange or is crazy. He had such a awesome. I mean gets hit all good cars. Were straits yeah. That was his sound strategic as a pacific. Sound to it He's used us one of the greatest gail said he had a His his strat was called the beast and it had really really heavy gauge weight of his strength said like how heavy they were and he would wind them so tired to have a ton of tension to give. It sounds really cool. Man just really really interesting. How he's pushing the envelope with all this kind of now and it'd be breaking strings like crazy if he didn't like us the godfather of certain music. Yeah and he said he would channel all the the sound of the guitar. Sound back into his pedal. He called the wet factor in the wet guitar. You're right. I wonder if he served i think so. I don't know but what gave what gave him this influence to make this music. Yeah it was before the beach boys before it had to be speed some of it to like surf. So the so miser lou of the pulp fiction song. Yeah that is a his version of a mediterranean song. It's middle is grounded in like middle eastern music could really weird really down the rabbit hole with him. I don't know how his music z. From california i think so. Yeah he's from newark. Would so so many guitar players where where did they associate the surfing with his music. How does it get associated with it or his music with early skateboarding. you know. yeah. I don't know definitely a cultural thing being at the beach. That's the sound of at the beach sixties. Maybe they adopted that sound. Like you know because like honestly austin texas like you think of all. The players came from austin. There's guys that have like a certain way of playing. They don't have that slowhand kind of thing. Either you know. I just keep rolling man. I could talk about the ever. I'm a huge fan. So next man. Randy rhoads yes. Great pick. Let's hear some reindeer right off the bat. I love randy lake. Doug why did you pick randy. I think you know with the rainy roads. The first time we heard heard him is of course like on. Tv from like crazy train. So i think ryan you were the first one to buy tribute. Yeah and. I think that was just the gateway to like heavier music for us growing up. That lead into metallica for us. You know and like like dude just amazing. I remember the first time. I've listened that whole album. I listen to it and it blows me away what he was doing. And who's such you know. A great rock and roll heavy rock metal guitar player. You know he was also like this. Brilliant fucking class guitar player yet will listen to a whole lot of ozzy from that era. But just as you're playing that clip like the their rift to kind of go off on their own and they come back down. I was like that is the essential eighties metal. If you're going to listen to something from that era listening to attribute that is the because like he has like blizzard and nervous. I'm sorry diarrhea but they don't capture his sound that what.

You know that they're just the you wanna hear the solos so you know it was posts encouragement and then the thing happens with pressure. Where hey you're doing a solo on an ozzy song so step the fuck up and i like pressure. I like being made to perform god who perform right. Now you know and so it was just. It was so much fun. I think chad was over while i was doing solo. And he's always like the best cheerleader. Because it's like it's good enough for chad. Maybe maybe it's good enough for everyone else. That's out like. I always think in terms of the guitar parts. We caney mean i realize like we could sit here and geek out for wild but i wanna truthfully say that like haiti and i have said like there are so many of your songs in past few years. Richest like man. This is so amazing. Lake the the miley record like five sauce. Like it's just it's just sort of insane kind of the the breadth of the production. And this is where i was gonna say something about stevie nicks but that will just fall into a rabbit hole probably sudden right now. Now you can man all good did you. Did you actually get to interact with stevie in any capacity or was it all through email or something i did. It was really really great We were working on the song And poor speaking sky odyssey the remixed version. Just one. yeah that was. Yeah you know when we were doing the song and the song has it's obvious not edges seventeen Miley reached out to stevie being. you know. she's so. Respectful are creators of of You know lineage. Of music realtor to show the song and be like. Hey you know this has a little nod to you. I hope this is cool and stevie in stevie fashion which now i know 'cause i got to talk to her a little bit was so receptive and so cool and was like i don't even hear the similarity besides that guitar rhythm. I love the song. It's so great. So it was kind of like the natural progression which that in her doing doing the remix And then you know we were. We were working on it and talking to her over the phone because there's in covid. Her assistant actually recorded vocals in her apartment. And we were kind of sending them back and forth doing notes together and she stays up real late really so you know i would get this call from an unknown number after she would hear the next bounce and i remember kind of fallen asleep in my bed one night talking stevie nicks about Just we've just got into a whole conversation about the world and then it was kinda one of those things where i was like kind of dozing off until an amazing dream. Steve is talking to hello still kinda kinda there. But if felt like a dream and it was a dream And we had to work through the wee hours night to kind of get it done in time for when they all wanted to come out But another situation where is like is this fucking real like you know steve. You know that song is one of the greatest recordings ever And then i got to get the multi tracks and fucking listening to them in the studio playing listen to those drums by themselves and listening to that amazing waddy wachtel guitar by itself. And and sit with it in my. It was what inspired me to make the other songs so it was it was just really kind of surreal and amazing and those kinds of things you know you you just do for the love of music and it's like one of the one of the perks of doing this amazing job. Is that you get to connect with you know people that have touched you in the reason. Why your ear and it's never lost on me and i'm so grateful for the opportunity to do that. You know i love. I love the fact that what can like is is a student of liner notes. Knows all the guitarist and players on all these incredible records. And as i am by dad had a huge crate. Vinyls as a kid and i sat and i went through every single lawn and read every single thing. And who's playing those horns on on the odds michio parker who's like learning all those guys you know just a those guys are the shit and that's that's what. I became a studio musician playing on other people's records and stuff like that like you said who's a qatar player on the post malone song like this just you know you hear something that touches you needs to be able to flip over record and says it boom right there A student of liner notes. The best way. I've ever heard it put my thing all let you take it away from here and do what you want to take what you want. I would like to do and say thank you so much for talking to us today. We really appreciate it and can't wait to hear more music from you coming soon working on right now and just kind of run outside because i could realize that through my basically you might be able to hear something. I was working on that. We didn't we didn't have. It's probably just stevie nicks recording her next album with you wish. Can we just make that happen. Let's just wishing to the universe. Nato happen that would be so cool. We really appreciate it. Thank you guys had a blast. Thank you be good. Thanks no.

They are Jay Z the go Go's Tina Turner, Todd Rundgren, Carole King and the Foo Fighters. But then there are several artists, including Kraftwerk in a local J who are receiving these other awards. What are these categories, So the early influence and musical excellence awards are Ways to maybe honor performers who didn't get in through the strait balloting. Both Kraftwerk and L. L Cool J have been on the ballot for a while, but they've been losing out to other artists like you know, the Foo Fighters and Jay Z. Even though I think that you know their influence on popular music cannot be disputed. I'm sure he would give girl would agree. Craft works pioneering synth pop and L'Equipe's early hip hop records. Did a lot more to push forward the idea of modern popular music than the Foo Fighters who are great then and who I have enjoyed live many times, and I have enjoyed the records. You know something else about this year, though the Rock Hall is making a point of highlighting This year's diversity. Do you feel like this is late? I mean, it's 2021 the go Go's, for instance, had never been nominated before, despite making history 40 years ago with the first and only number one album by an all female band, who also so happened to write their own songs and play their own instruments. You know, it's a It's a process of Reaching out to voters who are younger. I mean, when I started voting back in 2012, you know I was in my mid thirties and that was you know young for this on because it's been such a, You know, it seems like a long time. It really 10 years is not that long of a time for massive structural change to happen. So you've laid out for us this shift and the Hall of Fame acknowledging what is defined as rock and roll? What else surprised you this year? I was a little surprised by are made and not getting it, I guess, although I guess another recipient of the musical Excellence Award, which l L cool J got was Randy Rhoads. Legendary guitarist who played with Ozzy Osborne on but I think that Metal is, you know, still kind of scruffy outsider genre in its way, even though it's fill stadiums and arenas, the shifting change of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That is Maura Johnston, a writer and music critic based in Boston. Talking about the 2021 rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Mara Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Kate Bush, DEVEAUX Check in time Feel a cootie L L Cool J New York dolls Rage against the Machine and Dionne Warwick. Of that list, charity, anybody that you think should have You know, I know l l got some kind of consolation prize this year, but I think he should have been in way before Jay Z. Um, I don't think I would agree. But that's why it's not my list. Hey, actually got an award for musical excellence, along with guitarist Randy Rhoads of Black Sabbath and the fifth Beatle Billy Preston. See anybody. Listen to iron Maiden. Yes. Yeah, I was a little upset that Dionne Warwick didn't get it. I'm okay with the list. I'm okay with the list. It's about time for Todd Rundgren. Your class this year will be Tina Turner. The Foo Fighters. Carole King. The go, Go's Jay Z. Todd Rundgren and Randy Rhoads. Is we or Randy Rhoads and L L. Cool J's we mentioned got those awards for musical excellence, and Todd Rundgren, who of those Did not surprise you. Or let me ask it this way. Who are you? Most happy for Carole King. Tina Turner. Yeah, I'm most happy for Todd Rundgren. Runt 1970. Now as Utopia. Produced albums for the New York Dolls. Badfinger Grand Funk hauling notes cheap trick. Meatloaf. Not only meeting produced me Glow fund bat out of hell. But he played guitar. I'm bat out of hell. Todd Rundgren should have been in a long, long time ago. Who the hell that craft work, You know, influence, I guess all the electronic music that's out there now. Daft punk. And, Yeah, the media, My guess is they call it rest of us. Now. Tina was already in the hall as part of the duo. I contain a Turner. So now she's in is a solo artist Dave Groll. Winning is a member of Nirvana. He's now going in as a member of Foo fighters. Carole King was previously inducted is half of the song writing duo Goffin and King. And now she'll be the first Person to be inducted as both a performer and a non performer. Individuals in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who are in twice Both times as members of different bands. That's a hard that's a hard one to a changes, and, by the way, will wrap up the segment by pointing out there's only one person in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Him three times. And we know that that would be Eric Clapton. Yes, sir. Yardbirds cream and solo. I actually think you could make an argument for Derek and the dominos. But that's just me. "They add? And they always find somebody always somebody who's well, Jay Z to be in there is fantastic, Tina Turner. Of course, People are shocked with whether when they saw Tina Turner nominated and Carol Kickers like, Aren't they in? But of course, Carole King was in with her son writing partner, former husband, Gerry Goffin. The Tina Turner was in with I Yeah, yes, but now they're certainly deserves it. She's very much go. Dave rolled, who's coming in with the Foo Fighters is in for the second time because he's in with Nirvana. Couple of They're interesting notes. Billy Preston is getting a early influence or award. Remember Billy Preston he played He had a couple of big hits, but he was actually I didn't know that she was in Little Richard's touring band, and he played on Sam Cooke out Billy President's big hit. We used to sing something from nothing looking great something Yeah, you would know and l l cool J will receive the Musical Excellence Award for originality and influence. Music. All right, So just a couple of things those guys they were kind of funny. Nothing from nothing needs nothing. But okay, So Jeezy is made history as the first living solo rapper to be inducted into the record room. That's awesome. And getting in on his first year of eligibility, just like the go Go's and also the Foo Fighters. Okay, their first year of eligibility, and, as they said in the piece Dave Girl is in The record All Hall of Fame with Nirvana, Of course, Tina Turner as a solo artist Carole King Todd Rundgren. They have a couple of categories and when they were talking about Billy Preston record, you know why he's always why he's referred to is the fifth Beatle. Well s o in some of those later years, and I think this will come out in that Peter Jackson the letter B. He played as some keyboards, I think on like that, let it be album and stuff, and I think when you watch when they do that rooftop Performance. I want to say he's on keyboards. Yeah, All right, So he's s so people have been waiting a long time for Billy Preston. Roger Friedman said his manager, Joyce Moore, has been fighting to protect his legacy. Like what a great artist Okay that he was. Apparently Jay Z was Dead last in the fan voting that there were record Roll Hall of Fame does, But in the critic voting, they do performer category and then the early influence and then the musical. Excellent. Which is Randy Rhoads, Billy Preston. L L. Cool J. And, um, Iron Maiden did not get in there. People are mad about that. People are mad that the go go's got in there. Of course, I got all mad and I'm gonna be doing a vintage scandal on all of this because of course, share and sunny and share are still not in it are still not. Oh, I can't wait. This deserves has been to scandal segment. Yes. Yeah. You know, I was looking at some other snobs. No, George Michael know Mariah Carey also rage against the machine. Is that it? I don't know why they Don't call it the Music Hall of Fame. It does seem weird because it kind of like the popular Music Hall of Fame. But then do you need to bring in like Bing Crosby and story with why it's called the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It Xev different Such a disconnect with the categories that I that I just think for the average, Yeah. Person. It's just should be called the Music Hall of Fame. Well, joy it is not, and it's not going to be called that. Well, I'm petitioning right now. Change dot org's Let's change it. Let's see. But there will be a ceremony this year. You know last year, Okay? Because last year wasn't it will be October. In Cleveland and, um what the New York dolls or not in it, Kate Bush. So people were like, all really and iron made nets where people were like, really fired up the go. Go's got him before those I would I can see that again, based on the name Back and Roll Hall of fame and can see it. Yeah, I see that The other one was Deveaux didn't make it or Mary Jane Blige, MJ Bridge and they've been eligible. Maybe they have a few years, but So anyway, so that is going on. I didn't You know, it was kind of surprising that it's the first time three women have been had to say at the same time, I know. Yeah, I know so so slow. On all of that. But, you know, I think you know, I'm happy for Tina. Not that she's gonna be there Anything but wait. Well, why would she go? I think too, that that go Go's documentary that people might watch my golden some. But why? What was so good? Why wouldn't Tina Turner be here? You have a stroke or something? He knew Turner. Is that going to be making any more public appearances? I don't think based on that documentary that we just saw her based on the I don't know that she has. I know. She has a lot of Health issues and everything but you know, she made a new appearance at the at the Broadway That was two years ago, Right? I mean, didn't you feel like Glory said like a den of that documentary. Seems like this is this is my last public appearance. Did she know she was going to be inducted into the rock and Roll Hall of Fame, though at the time when that went down, can do a video master. Whatever. I mean, Tina's Whatever. What do you think? And do they get to choose Who inducts them? Who do you think she'll pack? I want to be called, like, Don't know. I mean, that's the interesting thing Like, Who does Tina Turner?.

Um 13 new inductees. And that I get everybody. I think I think I got the highlights here. So pretty good list this year is Erdogan Award. I'm named after a record company executive. Given to non performing industry professional goes to music Executive Clarence A. Bond, the man known as the Black Godfather, the recording industry. He was the subject of a Netflix Documentary, The Music Excellence Award, which the Rock Hall is used to honor artists, songwriters and producers that wouldn't normally or an induction and its performers category will be given to L L Cool J. Billy Preston. And Randy Rhoads. Rhodes is a heavy metal legend. Considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, having played with Ozzy Osborne Quiet riot. And others. And let's see here. They're also doing Something called the early influence Award with three UN deck inductees. Charley Patton. Man called the father of the Delta Blues. Yeah, Let's see a couple of others here so Those were the highlights. That's gonna be a cool induction ceremony. Lots of good music. Yeah. Foo fighters. Go goes Jay Z, Carole King, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner. Yeah, I'll say 7 13 right now, and I wanted to mention this today because it's made 12 And Lot of us. Remember? But I do have a congressman going on on Saturday and Fridays beer in the balcony is going to be with the great Rudy sarzo bass player extraordinaire who played with a quiet quiet Quiet Riot Whitesnake and Ozzy Osbourne. He's the one that introduced Ozzy to Randy Rhoads. So so that should be a heck of a beer on the balcony. Look if you happen to come a patreon wage. I think it's time. You know what I mean? "Hey bankers this is rudy sars zone. You're listening to cat tails but it also put the spotlight on the image. Didn't and what people look. I can get a the hairstyles and that clothes suddenly sort of flipped to use it just from the sound. Didn't it to the world know You know yes yes you are. But in a way that started with elvis. You know elvis and you know chuck berry going. They're doing the duck walker. Doing all the funny you know while he's playing guitar or little richard with crazy outfits and you know and playing in a certain style and jerry lewis just setting piano and fire and you know so you was always been a bus showboating a half as nathan show now. Yeah exactly exactly. And the what what. Better way to you. Know to showcase your showboating down on a video. That's going to be watched by billions of people. That's true that is thinking of that show then when you've moved from boston to band it's almost like you've been a gun for hire away in some situation often because of his you've been in in some bounds for quite some time but when you actually almost like plunked into a new situation it's like oh my god. How do i adopt to this. Do you change the way that you that you perform that you play and everything to fit without bombed and yeah that's that's an interesting question Of course you know. Bands like quiet. Riot which i was a full member of the it. When you're in a ban ban you're an equal member. Everybody kinda like does they're saying and taking no doubt that's taken for granted and that's the way it's going to be you know. And but when a joint ozzy it was really my first exposure to what my philosophy is now you know. which is. You're you're joining the band. The band is not joining you. That's my philosophy. You know and i have to find the okay. So there's a piece of the puzzle missing got an. I had to like bend myself into that shape. And then become seamless like if my ultimate goal is to be so seemless would that shape ad that it. I project that i've always been there yet. Yeah you don't mean to like oj. Ringo was the original drummer for the beatles was best right. but i don't point. Rengo became seamless with the band. And you can't imagine ringo the beatles with ringo. That's right so that's like my role model because prior to that. There were really no bands. It was elvis chuck berry you know then the band eric amid out of nowhere because it was it was always kind of like Let's say Frankie valli and the four seasons or jerry and face makers he was kind of like even even if there was a band was kind of like one guy and then the band he hit. Oh and but the beatles were the beatles kind of like a lot of the of the of the rock you know using a metaphor as a good one know so So i yeah when. I first joined ozzy again. You can only work from real life references. References things i have experienced so my major reference of being on stage was what became on sunset strip rock because where i used to play with choir which randy rhoads and we don't do the same thing we will get up on stage and try to be noticed you know mainly because we wanted somebody to notice whether it was the girls or whether it was the record companies or more maybe a bigger band and the band that you were. Join them pin. It was kind like it was a bit of showcasing. The band is showcasing yourself. Yeah he goes everybody. Nothing was for sure. It doesn't mean that the band you're playing in today. That was the ban. You're gonna be in next next month. Everybody went bad. As a matter of fact you can do a family tree and negative family tree and i mean negative because let's say zero is the point that the ban get sign right so so the world knows knows that dan right no. That's that's that when you get exposure but if you go in negative numbers and you look at the people that actually play with a ban prior to the ban getting sign like everybody was in everybody else's bam was so that's the roots an actual ruins of that band. You know everybody else that was at at four for better for worse you know And so would. I join ozzy i i just went ahead and say okay what i what i know how to do is be like a sunset strip player sort of kind of i know nothing else. I haven't even been to yet. So what sharon hair vision was first of all and the blizzard vase tour was for the united states because again. I've i've only to the point with ozzy in the us for ozzy establish thread from the black sabbath fans to him becoming a solo artist. So there had to be some commonalities of what british medal was about. Not glam rock which is basically. That's what what the sunset strip was in the seventies. It was very queen and mud. Hoopoe and bowie ish influences. All the bands had that so. That's not that's not black sabbath recycler very quick follow chat with me fact. I wrote all about this in my book. off the rails and she had a chat with as she took me to. The side is like about a couple of weeks or two or three weeks and to me being onto over them and she kind of like later on very simple she a square on on the ground and she said You see the square this where you're going to stand all night you're not gonna go to the other side of the stage. You're not going to put your foot of the drum rice. You're gonna be in front of ozzie. Ozzie boost back. You moved back and you know she laid down some some fundamentals of what atypical.
