"Derby on September fifth four B Wayne Hughes Spendthrift Farm in the special day that that was for him and then he talked about some of the chaos that ensued not only after the race where Bob was. Well knocked on his backside authentic in the winner's circle, and of course, talked about thousand words in his assistant Jimmy Barnes, and thousand words flipping in the paddock right before the race not the way you drew it up for Hall of Famer Bob Baffert and nobody. Knows more about that situation than the man who was talking about it on NBC television and that's Randy Moss who works alongside Mike Trico, Jerry Bailey, and the great team at NBC to bring you that coverage and he was there he has seen it end randy was a I guess ties into twenty twenty in the strange year that we've seen with the triple crown. Yeah I mean I know it's a cliche my but I mean, we've all been on a roller coaster ride obviously in twenty twenty but Baffert has been on like one of those screaming really scary rollercoaster rides with a huge drops in the and then the elevations and It was really remarkable story was it to see authentic win after all the bathroom stables been through this year. Yeah Charlotte in doll top horses that were being pointed for the Kentucky Derby early in the year both off the trail obviously, he ends up with authentic thousand words and then the situation with thousand words before the race and then getting it done with authentic it you know and then afterwards what authentic did in the winner's circle at I've never seen Bob get knocked around like that before but I'm sure he's never been knocked around like that at least not on national television but that was something interesting to watch. Yeah he said he was embarrassed more than anything else look. It was a little soft you know and then in between the. Charlatan you know and then authentic and thousand words in the Derby. As on a lot of people thought. were better than authentic and better than thousand words, and then they didn't pan out in their final for the Derby. So it's back to its back to plan a in the Kentucky Derby and obviously it turned out to be good at us I thought for my for my money my. All of the triple crown race wins that BAFFERT has had. Either fifteen or sixteen I gotta go back and count again but it's a lot. I thought his job training. To the Kentucky Derby. Was the best job that efforts best best training job that he's ever had a triple crown race. Tough to argue with that and I think tough to argue with what Bob said after the race on NBC were he said that he's had some tremendous rides on his horses in the Kentucky Derby but the ride the John Velazquez gave authentic was really really special. It was a it was a veteran hetty Kinda ride Velazquez said after the Derby that with authentic breaking from the outside post and the way he had started in the Santa Anita Derby from an outside post he was kind of and Baffert. We're both kind of anticipating that authentic wouldn't break all that sharply. From the gate he didn't break badly but he broke maybe a link links and a half. certainly behind his law and some of the other horses to his inside, but having prepared for that. And having some concern in his mind about authentic getting the mile and a quarter. The strategy for philosophy going in was just if he could get away with it just a carefully. meet out his speed during the first quarter of a mile and kind of baby to that I turn. And maybe play possum a little bit with the other jockeys to is inside. And at the last possible minute, Kinda spurred away from the others in and drop in hopefully on a clear league. And and that's exactly what he was able to do and I think another important Component to the authentic win and it was kind of a perfect storm me a lot of things developed in in favor of authentic. But because of the scratches during Derby, week of art collector in Guillermo. You had the withdrawal of a couple of horses that could conceivably have applied pace pressured authentic in the middle part of the race. Going down the. backstretch. they both had enough speed and enough quality to be able to do that and with those two horses out. And with New, York traffic certainly not the same horse that he was in the Haskell and with Manny Franko strategizing probably that authentic couldn't get the mile and a quarter and he's GonNa. Wait till. You know much later in the race to make his move authentic basically had a base on balls. During the middle part of the race that he might not get today. Dizzying with NBC racing analyst Randy Moss here on the Horse Racing Radio Network Randy I started the show this morning by talking about the fact that the way that the three triple crown races were run this year not the most ideal way that we'd like to see it all come together. But I, also credited each of the race track for finding some way to work them in as Steve Asmussen. Pointed out in an interview earlier this week you said, you know these three year olds are only three once and making sure that they had the opportunity to compete in the triple crown races is significant on a lot of levels and I think we'd all agree with that when you are asked about this year's triple crown season, how do you sum it up? How do you describe that to people? Exactly, the same way you just did they my that it, it's not perfect..

"Realized Oh boy there's his mom and so there you are I I come from a long line of Horseplay degenerates basically. I guess you could say Steve. So from my My parents do my. My father always told me you know he taught. He taught me how to read the racing for him. He said I taught you everything you know but not everything I know and my uncle both uncles I mean I was there all crazy about the worst. Were well people need to see it? it's really A winning five minutes six minutes. Whatever it is it well done. And we'll actually. Let's let's use that as a segue into figure making and I've got some other things I want. Ask on the back end. But you know we're being treated randy to these Saturdays at oaklawn and not that Gulfstream and Tampa's Saturday action is engaging. It's fine but you know the the prime part of their winters is over but to have a day like Saturday where everybody is just eager for for some quality to have that apple blossom and then to have a horse like whitmore. It was a tree. Oh and then you have break even in an allowance race you know writing between the Count Fleet in the apple blossom you know and then you get Desmond winning an allowance race right before that You know I've I've been around Oakland. Obviously a very very long time and I was actually handicapping.

"That video was taken and sure enough? The first race of the day for two year olds ironically in March back when they used to run to your olds at Oaklawn and they had the prices on the board and so I just started going to newspapers dot com and doing a search for race results and it turns out the Detroit. Free Press was the Go-to back then in newspapers dot com. I went day by day by day by day and look at all of the results until I found prices matched and it was Monday march tonight. Thank t fifty nine. I just tremendous and died there. There's even a moment where the as the horses are coming down the stretch it screened caps. And then there's the you know the the prices that are superimposed out of the free press and it just Is just great and the imagery you know I. I've actually got a similar box right over here that my my dad gave me. And it's all the all those brownie eight. You know the Brownie eight films and we want to do the same thing and I got some kids and yeah and transfer them on so I'm GonNa send out that For those that didn't see it. You'll really enjoy it and especially you know when when the hook because I knew when when you said you know. How did they sneak me into the racetrack? Because you have to be eighteen at the time and I realized Oh boy there's his mom and so there you are I I come.

Tom Brady & the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

"While the suspense is over. We now know that Tom. Brady's me going to Tampa. Bay buccaneers thirty million dollars per season. Which was what Michael Lombardi had predicted? It was going to take to sign Brady. Twenty Seasons forty-one Playoff Games thirty playoff wins tour in one thousand nine regular season. Wins SIX SUPER BOWLS. Three League? Mvp's seventy four. Thousand five hundred. Seventy one passing yards and five. Hundred and forty-one touchdown passes Tom Brady is leaving New England. Mike. Quite a resumes. Put up the greatest player and NFL history and the box have not had a pro bowl quarterback since two thousand fifteen when James Winston was a rookie and look at the town he's got now Evans and Godwin OJ Howard. And so on you. And I were thinking charges. But you'd said charges or bucks and Tampa Bay now that we know it makes a lot of sense because the offensive weapons and as you would sit yesterday's pod and of course you can check it all the GM shovels. We talked with Tom. Brady and detail. The key is that Bruce. Arians is willing to adjust his offense four. Tom Brady yeah no doubt I mean first of all I think in talking to some people yesterday proximity to New York was really important to like. He wanted to be able to get on an airplane. Fly Back to a you know whether he buys a home in Greenwich or somewhere. After a game on Sunday fly back spent a couple of days his family come back to Tampa and do that so that was important. Easy flight turnaround so that was there and look. This is just a tremendously great. Human being I mean Brady literally face timed most of the people that he worked with at the Patriots yesterday. Obviously being safe from People Xinhau and not could he could see anybody facetime and thanked him. I mean you're talking about one of the great human beings and it didn't work out a New England for a lot of different reasons but I think now. Tom Gets to become a little bit like manning he gets to be able to go down to Tampa he can run his offense however he can put the offense and there's just no chance no chance Byron left. Which is telling Tom Brady what he's going to run right. There's just no chance of that. Nor is Bruce Arians. I think we'll definitely see. There's been a lot of reports out there about Antonio Brown. I think we'll definitely see Antonio Brown in a buck uniform. Add more skill and I'm sure they've promised him they're going to rebuild the offensive line. But he's going to have a say. I mean Jason Light. The general manager of the Tampa. Bay buccaneers has just hired an assistant general manager. His name Tom Brady and they're going to do everything in their power to make Brady happy. They've already increased ticket sales on season tickets. It's of fork for them. We'll see if it works out. It's amazing to think Mike. And you know this with your time in New England but the Patriots Way and where guys go Mike. Rebel is traded the chiefs Randy Moss shift to the Vikings. Vince will work with the Texans Adam. Vegetarian a great second career the colts and your window. Now it's going to happen. Tom Brady with Tampa Bay. Like you said Byron left which is oh see. He's Tom Brady tells him and he's got lots of weapons. Right there Evans is probably the best receivers play with since Randy Moss. And now you can see why the line is already jumped at. The box. Went from forty to one odds to twenty to one odds to win the Super Bowl. He gets paid which is important as you would guest thirty million dollars a year. That's what he's GonNa get didn't make sense for economics but here's the key. I think when it comes to Tom Brady is. How much does he have left the tank and for all the Brady fans they would say listen? His receivers couldn't hold onto his passes right. He did not have enough weapons around him. Well now he's got the weapons and if you believe that. Brady's still got some magic left for a couple of seasons with clearly his leadership and his Moxie and his talent and a smart board than anything will lift this team higher to where they go. Jameis Winston. They're seven losses a seven of the nine losses. Last year had eighteen turnovers guy was turnover machine. So theory is as long as it doesn't make those turnovers completes passes gets things done. There's no reason why the box to have very quick turnaround next season. No doubt and I mean look todd. Bowles has done a great job with their defense and they've got more cap room to spend on what they WANNA do. We don't know what the structure of the Brady contract is. But the idea that there wasn't a market for Brady. Obviously there was a huge market for him at thirty million made more than Philip rivers at twenty-five we'll talk about him in a moment but I think for the first time in his life. Tom Brady wanted to be able to go somewhere and kind of do what he wanted to do. You know and to be. I don't WANNA call Patriot like but I mean for the Patriots to spend thirty million on a quarterback and then spend more money in free agency that violates their culture. That violates everything. They believe in and for him to do what he wants to do what she deserves to do at this point in his life. He's earned it to go out and kind of be. I think this is like a great coach. Who finally wants to be able to run his program right. You know. I've been operating in this system but now I want to go into another system and that's how I look at this with Brady's movement I mean he was never going to be able to do what he truly wanted to do in New England. Now he can do it there. He can do it in Tampa and no one's GonNa tell him he can't. I think the concern. You have to have a few of the box. Is You know. Tom Has got to relate to some of these younger players. And that's GonNa be you know. We spent a Lotta time understanding millennials in New England understanding. How he's going to relate to that because there is a huge gap between Tom and these other players. I think getting someone like Antonio Brown in there who tom loves will help them. I know that sounds crazy. But it'll help the other players in the room kind of have a relationship. Can you imagine? Antonio Brown's the great pacify higher. I mean can you imagine that? I'm saying that seriously. They give out that eighty. He's the bridge so if they did that and they improve their offensive line.

Patriots may soon have to deal with their first Antonio Brown issue and it has to do with his number

"We have to talk about the biggest storyline in the NFL Antonio Brown as it looks like the saga for Antonio in some ways is finally ending and in other ways. It's just beginning for number eighty four as Antonio uh-huh Brown signs a one year proved deal with the New England patriots and it's hilarious because there is so much speculation when all his shenanigans with the Oakland Raiders for going on that really it was just a grand master plan for Bill Bella check to somehow land the all world talent wide receiver in sure enough he gets released from the raiders and later that day signs deal with the New England patriots another huge weapon in the offense four. Tom Brady and this has shades of what Randy Moss did did when he was with the Oakland Raiders. Moss spent some time in Oakland during his games he played for the raiders. You could just see that the big hall of fame wide receivers hardest wasn't in it. He wasn't really producing for the raiders he was now running routes with this full heart. You can just tell that he wasn't the Randy Moss when he was sooner in Oakland and then he goes to the Patriots under Bill Belichick and has a career year a record setting year with Tom. Brady Brady threw for fifty touchdown passes does that offense was just a cold plays away from being the first team to go perfect nineteen in Oh as they were trying to catch the seventy two dolphins they lose of of course the super bowl to the tremendous comeback led by Eli Manning and the New York giants. Is this going to be just like that. Are we gonNA see a patriots team. That could possibly go undefeated after Sunday night. That's a very real possibility that defense for the Patriots absolutely shut down the steelers and and if they know they're gonna get just a boatload of points on the offensive side of the ball you know Bill Belichick GonNa give all of his time and effort to making sure that that defense is ready eighty each and every week for their match. Make sure everyone's healthy ready to go that the scheme is right and we very well could see a run at history again in New England might right sound a bit presumptuous just in week one but the steelers are a classic. AFC favorite especially when they had the big three Bell Brown and Rothlisburger now with two of those three pieces Gone Smith Schuster looks to pick up the slack for Antonio Brown but now yet to find someone to pick up the slack for Juju at that wide receivers Chris to spot you also gotta be be frank here that James Connor is not living on bell. We saw that in that game Sunday night so the steelers were still a good test defensively civilly always are fantastic and brady made them just look like a peewee football team out there as he had no problem going for thirty three points in that game and pass over three hundred honored yards. You put a be in that mix with Josh Gordon Julian Edelman the running back tandem of James White as well as Sony Michelle is going to be a really tough challenge to beat this patriots team and because of that you who who's to say I mean they they could do it. They could do it you. You can't say they can't there. There is a real world possibility with the addition of Antonio Brown that the Patriots could make some history but now we gotta look back at how this came to be an Antonio oneal brown you could tell really from the Gecko once he got into camp once he started running some routes with Derek Carr in this raiders offense something clicked in his head that he did not want. I WANNA be in Oakland. I mean he did the cryotherapy happens and you chalk that up to operator malfunction with the frostbite on the feet then he goes on this insane escapade with the helmet trying to get all that taken care of in think in trying to use his old helmet. He's used forever he. He's had six months to do it and he doesn't think that's enough time to find a new helmet. I mean he's not looking for new kidney. He just needs a helmet you. There's ways to figure that out to make it fit and make it. It'd be comfortable everyone else in the NFL did it why couldn't he that becomes an issue. He's stays out of training camp. He doesn't do the walk throughs. The helmet issue did not mean he couldn't couldn't practice with the team he did that on his own accord and then he goes after the general manager of the raiders after he gets fine for actions he knows our final. He did them with that in mind. There wasn't like that fine just came out of the sky on him and Mike mayock gets verbally costed by Antonio Brown he goes on a barrage. I use of slayer of slurs cuss words to Mike May Auchan your raiders still still planned on playing him in there Monday night game against the broncos broncos that says a lot about the raiders as an organization that they were willing to take this abuse from Antonio Brown and take all this Prima Donna behavior behavior that was happening with Ab and still play him Monday night when he's barely practice with the team we talked earlier in the season here here on this show about how Antonio Brown by taking all this media attention has helped the raiders rookies developed because they haven't had to deal with it and that's still true in the lot of the raiders rookies have talked talked about in themselves and the second year players have said by having Antonio Brown. It's been nice that they haven't had to deal with the media coverage and hard knocks and that was really a lot more centered around Antonio Brown but he's also had a terrible example as an a way to conduct yourself as professional with what he's done with the raiders clearly didn't want to be there show the the reaction video when he finally gets released from the raiders and all of that finally goes down and I think the raiders are better off for it you if you're going to establish a new culture in Oakland. You can't have this going on in your locker room on your sideline. You need to get Antonio Brown out of out of there if he wants out all the better let him go you cut your losses just saved a lot of money by voting that twenty nine million that you would yet. You'RE GONNA pay him over the three years Antonio Brown you get your wish you go you get to play for the Patriots I think both sides can kind of wash their hands of the issue but now the rest of the NFL has to deal with the Patriots and Tom Brady having Tony Brown as viable and very real. You'll weapon for them

Antonio Brown, released by Raiders, reportedly signs with Patriots

"The hundredth year of the anniversary of the NFL is this Antonio pound saga well I mean it's it's insane it's crazy and you know everything that played out it's almost the case where listen you know I get to the point we'll get to the patriot idea of it the raiders were left with no choice now they were left with no choice and you could even make the argument and before he went on Instagram early on Saturday morning and basically said release me after the you know two hundred plus thousand dollar fine which made his money not guaranteed here moving forward in that Oakland Raiders deal that they re worked after they acquired him from the Pittsburgh Steelers David that even before that when he say what he said you know with racial undertones to Mike may I could practice in in that once you do that you overstep your bounds as a player win in terms of you know not understanding the leadership of mac is general manager that he should be gone then but then you had after that you know the teary eyed apology that he had to the team right thirty million dollars correctly right there's no doubt about it and then he gets hit with a fine once again we're grew to make the announcement before that that he'll be playing right and they'll be suiting up and playing against the Denver Broncos then you get the fine once again then he goes crazy on Saturday morning on Instagram selling the raiders to release some and they end up really so it was a very interesting forty eight hours for the Oakland Raiders to say the least and you know first and foremost the one thing that you and. so when it comes to the NFL and when it comes to the owners the head coach and the GM the one thing that they're always looking for with leverages is how to take away your money and he came from that complete leverage I've also heard fancy well you can't you can't find star players they don't get fined they get fined each and every week if their wait for meeting if they mistreatment well I still watch go berserk it's just not something that the team put out to the media it's something that's handled in house right so if people think that star players don't get fined that's a ridiculous statement because it happens each and every week out of the NFL season and when you look at the structure of everything that happened on in experience GM if you don't think Jon Gruden knew exactly what was going on and was there a point good cop bad cop I don't know what you're thinking about Jon Gruden has to do that for the face of being the head coach because he doesn't want the blurred lines of the GM and head coach but he was a hundred percent on board with what Mike may I was doing that's why he hired him so that he basically can control the entire situation I grew the David but here's the point I have is the one I get rid of them initially you know after he gets into the altercation with may Oct the verbal one people say downplay whether how physical just was but just when you have that go down a practice and you have Antonio brown screaming what he did when I repeat it Mike mac on the practice field why not just get rid of a man don't you at that point when you decide to bring him back are you sending the wrong message to the rest of the guys on that team because you know a cures everything vitamin W. winning that's what cures everything and when you look at him with that hundred million dollar contract this team going on the road to play a division rival in Denver they're a better football team with him out on the field that being said what else is the big thing that they're looking at they're looking at next year moving to Las Vegas and having a big splash to bring that fan base and to bring a drawing crowds to the Los Vegas readers to you look at the overall landscape of things. Jon Gruden gave him as many opportunities as possible because let's face it that's what had photo gallery supreme GM's and owners to win Taylor puts production out on the field right now and they were left with no other choice and then the conspiracy theorists are that brown and drew Rosenhaus right his agent Bailey forced their way out of Oakland left them with no choice to do this and then he ends up with the New England Patriots Rosen house in the pats Abella check of a very good relationship he signs up there joins the litany of guys who've had trouble careers before going to notice anyone that's according to the in areas Tom price range of all fourth fifth. that's exactly I Randy moss Corey Dillon guys that had issues with other organizations went to New England I basically bought it and now it's a one year deal ten million guaranteed five million in incentives we can earn fifteen million dollars he's not could be playing against the Steelers later on tonight as the patriots and Steelers do battle but you will look at the very fact of now he ends up with the patriots and now you look at this patriot team with adult men brown and Gordon yeah I know no grown cow ski but you look at it and for Antonio brown everything that transpired in Oakland I would probably bet anything that none of that will transpire up in New England no because there's veteran leadership in the locker room you think about the last chance he's got without a doubt if you think about things that took place in our locker room when you have a Michael street him when you have an Antonio Pierce we have myself Chris me and other guys that our leaders that we don't let the stuff take place in the locker room and go out into the public figure who's gonna stop anything he did in Oakland there's not a single player on there that has a resume like him that could put him in his place now go into New England it is a completely different story because they've won without him and they don't need him to win but let me ask you this question now I mean sometimes guys just go author yeah I mean go off the tracks yeah know he's definitely offer the tried your office right there's no doubt about it but I my point being is that you know I don't know if even that was great veteran leadership on Oakland if they were gonna pull a massage I mean nobody could do no I don't know what what's even if there was to prevent exactly what transpired and what happened and how hay wire it got whether it be the feet the helmet how they support him through all of that and then the very fact of he they handed him down you know basically a fifty thousand dollar fine he goes haywire has the apology then after screaming at back then he gets find out once again they're going after his money and rightfully so pure the Oakland Raiders because what would lead you to believe the behavior is going to change but I'll tell you it doesn't get a say I don't get a sense even if that veteran leadership was there in Oakland that that also was going to. change with the way that he acted out there in Oakland not it's not a winning program like you love Pittsburgh yeah and the way that we love Pittsburgh and you didn't hear about all this nonsense I'm sure was all gone behind the house down in my home when was a cover up of the Steelers recovered as team week seventeen when the plane for the playoffs no doubt about it but I would say this is that the Steelers were smile and and the very fact is is that they don't have to deal with the headache and then all of a sudden the headache bloomed out an open window and I heard everything that tree outside with Antonio brown and and it's all sort of go along with that you know the one thing that you always said as an NFL player that was like to joke around the NFL players go to the raiders to die that's where their career ends and obviously with him you knew that he didn't want to be a part of training camp hence the whole helmet situation the whole foot thing the footings wanting them with the helmet you weren't even practicing anyway so it's not just to disappear from practice well you're doing the standard to ride the bike or doing whatever for your feet at that time that's once again him believing that he is more important and has a different set of standards than the rest of the football team so there wasn't a player nor do I think Oakland could have ever done that now he falls into a situation where it's going to the New England Patriots and like I said it's completely different because they won without you and they can win without you so the standard that the put on it and the patriot way is do nothing outside yourself to cause controversy for this lock permit do bulletin board material we just talked about the examples that worked brand I think they're different points in their career but look how bad it was for channel chill Cinco because it showed that he was in a dynamic player he was the Purcell St precise route runner and he couldn't pick up with the language and we're Tom Brady wants you to be everybody knows that Tom Brady is a quarterback he demands you to do things to perfection and if you don't break your route off the ten yards and break it off at night you're not going to be on the football field that's the difference were Antonio brown is different the channel two signal and fits more into the mold of like Randy moss because they work that well it of players are more. technicians that nowadays is just to biting by the rules and just make sure you stay clear of all this yeah and I think he will be is I'll be ours you David if he blows up in New England we'll be all rights will be god and not just that I don't know how many teams that will be clamoring to bring a man at the kind of money that he's looking to make music Tony brown does want to sign a one year deal worth two million dollars he's looking for the kind of contract that he got in essence in a performance based contracts but he is getting ten million dollars guaranteed you want to do the re work from the Steelers the Oakland Raiders it did now we lost a lot of money yeah terms of Garin a lot on it a lot of money but he has the opportunity to make it back and if he is able to change the discourse the conversation around him and have a great year and buy into that patriot system and he minds is pleasing cues and there are no way should be as you know this he is going to be under the magnifying glass and they're gonna be people Diggin it see what's going on behind the scenes if he's able turn all that around then everything will be fine for Antonio brown then okay contract next no doubt about it but if he doesn't I don't know how many teams will be clamoring to bring and then all of the thirty two year old receiver this is his last opportunity let's face it if you go to New England and you box this for them taking the chance on you as a player and you go back to what you just did in Oakland and back to all the things that you did in Pittsburgh yeah that talent won't outweigh the cancer that you'll be in that locker room and the headache that the coaches and GM selected deal with so this is really his last opportunity with bill Belichick because I truly feel this organization of bill Belichick are the only ones that can

"On this moment. I just don't have any fat. It sounds like I'm just ripping t over to. But you got fake. He's going to do something tonight. I just take his ring. Well, look, I'm offended by the phrasing of the question that Whitlock, obviously frightening. He let me look on us. If you heard that word, he won't be hey, she'll handle tonight ceremony with class. There's on what you call class. Just what I should have been in the first ballot hall of fame class. As you say when you invite me, you invite mob behavior, and guess what? That is. I'm gonna let y'all know I don't know anybody else. So and helped me that has ever retired from the game top three by the numbers at their position. And was not a first ballot Vanisi football hall talk to you right down. So so guess what? I get it. This is simple as an hall of fame committee can do themselves a good deed by emitting this te'o son jaw when he was playing reporters media everybody out there -til was like y'all my feet and my mercy. And then when you all finally had the power your son them back. Okay. Now te'o is like, okay. Invite me back. I'm gonna let everybody know why I'm disgruntle, and it will be disruptive. It'll be honest because I think te'o is standing on the proper premise, y'all plan shade, y'all out here being petty was so one status and Accolate earned that don't take that away from me. "Yeah, it's twenty five between their top two backs Dame so hardly any rushing attack even speak of now. But like when a lot of teams, if you name it team like the eagles you'd think trap runs in the g. sweep or the center and the garter pulling to the perimeter with the lions. I don't. I don't have anything to think of yet. I don't know exactly what their identity will be in. That's that's a little bit unsettling because they've got a pretty good offense. One, they haven't aligned that they have invested heavily in which means they have really scouted those guys in know what their personnel is. You don't sign Wagner and TJ laying was who was out last week, but you don't sign them. You don't draft rag now without having known exactly what they are and how you want to use them. So they need to find the identity and their running game and. New England's not the easiest offense to do that against because they take away a lot of gaps with the way they lined up on defense. But if you can, if you can run the ball out of three receiver sets which the lions, I think that's going to be their approach over the course of the season. You've got a chance against knowingly, you have to execute. They're lining to execute better. Let's let's talk, Josh, Gordon this look. He probably won't have much of a role on Sunday night. He'll he'll have been there for five days or so at that point. But I do wanna talk general fit here with Gordon in New England. The easy comparison is sort of like, oh, remember when the patriots got rainy, Randy moss from the raiders. This will be just like that. Randy moss had had a a. He was sort of a. Very conscientious guy when it came to, you know, study and and route running and sort of the precision of the game. I I mean is that Gordon's can't commit become Gordon's game. I would say moss was that way when he wanted to be either I am. C was very, obviously not that. And when he got to New England, that was a big thing that he wanted to. You know, he wanted to be basically mentally on the same plane that Tom Brady is on. Yes, that's always it's always helpful. When you get on the hall of fame, quarterbacks Mansell plane, the patriots are not an offense that you just step in and start playing for. That's that's what's getting lost in this Josh Gordon conversation member. Also, Chad Ocho Cinco who came in and he came in later and did not learn the offense could not learn it. A lot of option routes a lot of sight adjustments which is where your routes based on how you read the safety after the snap, that stuff is not easy to learn because you're. Learning it on top of the terminology in the formation and the patriots do a lot of different formation ING. So I'm not up to mystic that Gordon's going to be a big contributor, certainly not right away and maybe over the course of the season. This is the say, nothing of what you've got with the guy personally, if you can even rely on him, I understand taking the chance, oh, New England's looking for wide receiver. I can't believe uniting, get a call to try out for them at some point and they are thin at that spot. But I think we're going to see the offense take shape when Julian Edelman is back. I don't think Gordon's going to reshape offense at all. How much how much is there to just saying, okay, we're gonna put Josh Gordon in the outside and just have him run straight down the field, and that will demand a certain amount of attention from proposing defense and sort of lift some things for the rest of the offense. Yeah, you could do that. You'd be doing that in the three by one set? Probably with the with him as the excise. Although what gets interesting is the rob gronkowski fact that and do you Gordon grog on the gronkowski is so good down the seams, and that's where they use them most and that impacts the safety. So if you've got Gordon outside of gronkowski, what do you do with your safety? But you know this, that's the same. They had this scenario last year Geary Brandin cooks who's a better player than Josh Gordon at this point in their careers. So I don't know if it's anything to radical, we'll see that we have that we haven't seen before..

Bill Barnwell says all 32 teams can get to Super Bowl LIII

"At me because you are just consuming information, nonstop as football approaches. Well, I mean, Mike Reese is saying that this is the second worst wide receiver core that's on Brady is ever had. I mean. I find that fascinating that is that the second was that Tom Brady's really never want has has done so much winning with such poor wide receivers with the exception of Randy moss. That is pretty amazing. It's kinda like Nick Sabin doing all that winning without having a quarterback. And now he has the greatest quarterback of the history of college football. So there's that and then there's Bill Barnwell who wrote a piece explaining how every team in the NFL could win the Super Bowl and how they do it and what their percentages are of doing it, and he grouped them in category, Mike, you have a chance you, you have a chair. Now it's a point, one percent chance, but you have a shot. Mike Ryan is a Browns fan has been since his childhood when his I will eat that the dollar

"All right, we'll we'll cut off Rice's career at the same point. Randy retied and he had two hundred more receptions, but eight more touchdowns like that's p you. That's not good. Again, he played with three MVP's during their MVP seasons. I've heard people I will play with Cunningham. Yeah, and he was fine. He was also thirty eight. They must played with the MVP and a half. Who's the half. Didn't. What's his name? Split MVP with Peyton. Who, why am I blanking on his fucking guy? The co pepper the Culpepper, didn't he get a half, didn't they share an MVP one. You nothing? The only split Wu's. Number berry. Sanders split one thing for, but I think McNair split one with manning COPA. Never got any kind of VP maybe that's. For sure, but yet not MVP. You. That's fucking rude. I'd like to retroactively give todai cop ever an MVP. I must have been thinking about McNair. Then he had the very first year he started. He was first team all pro and sure was. And yeah, he never hit their peak again. Ledley touchdowns that year. He deadly lead the lead the league in yards and four. But yeah, that was he played for the Sacramento mountain lions and twenty ten out note that means. So, yeah. I mean, what was he doing? He was forty one makes you think. So, yeah, rice at some like two thousand more yards on two hundred more catches in only eight touchdown. So yet he was Wes Welker very good, very good for what he did his era and also like the fact that he keeps having to prove as he knows. He's not the best man. I would also like to say, people bring up the air. The air also worked in his favor because the defenses were so much more rudimentary than they are today. Also my one who was like he rice scored five touchdowns in the game because the coach refused to move Dion Sanders under rice by world. I mean, get credit to rights taking advantage of that. But yeah, he just eating the second-string guy live right it. Sanders coach told me, stay on the left side, feel it, what can I do? Why wouldn't they put rice on them? It makes you think. Yeah, they were hiding rice. I mean, I, I'll tweet out that chart until the day I'm dead. He the game is about touchdowns. That's why you play. Why we make fun of specifically why Tyler makes fun of Julio as much as he does. Ramaz have more touchdowns until he literally retired, like the age retired and then rice overtook him. Let's that simple. They came league different ages, maybe martyrdom better Twenty-one. We got this cracking earlier. It's a and it's also I usually get upset when I think about moss getting kicked out of Florida state because he would have just been an absolute different monster fy and had that as well. But the fact that since he had to go to Marshall and play d one AA, it means got to shatter all of rights as records. Maybe as part of the long con thinking, yeah, I mean, listen, Randy moss no fool. Man that in the tide, the hall of fame ceremony house, like I imagine that not being goat a Madge. Right, right. There? Yeah, there have been very few days in my life that not even sports lay today's just days in my life where I've bet as happy as the day, the patriots acquired. Randy moss. Yeah, like that was coming off his worst years, his worst right years. Like he's done. Okay. I refu- I just I don't know how he was what thirty. Maybe probably not even probably just about if even by get guys done man, he couldn't. He wouldn't do fourteen ers Markey's to ask Sopo. He's been no more. No more. Good. Is a malcontent p you. Yeah, Moss's. Perfect. You being either, but it's fine with me. I have. Yeah. Bill Belichick wet days hall of fame induction because he was like, yeah, one of the greatest players of ever seen not even close. Stead higher wearing chicken mass. Yeah. When we get Bill on the pod, I'd love to ask him who he thinks he'll he'll say, someone who played in like nineteen thirty four, Don Hudson. Someone asked him who the best quarterback ever seen dot named Tom Brady was, and he brought up someone who played for the lions and sixty eight. One good year that question knowing van Braga then is like, I'm fell off. You like, listen back. I didn't get hurt. That guy was from. But go back and watch tape buck. You know what? I was incredible. He didn't lie..

"Browns, have none from everything I've heard. I wonder why hasn't worked. It just continues to not work like. Like maybe nineteen. We'll see. Man p you. Is very funny. So yeah, Corey Coleman. I feel bad for him. He now has to go live in buffalo and. I mean, he's got no good pick of quarterback. They're just none. I'm not even like that low on buddy from Alabama, Karen, black? Yeah, not even like out think he's great, but some people like those guys shouldn't be in the NFL. That feels bit preposterous to me. You know, that also seemed like people's trees. They should treat Dalton start McCarron. I was like, wow, that that feels way extreme. And again dealt no great shakes, but you know what he is. You have no idea what Macaire new E-e-eh feel like Dalton's good for course season. I might take McCarron in a single game though, just from what he showed. And most of that playoff game, he played in four years ago to did he did he the reason they lost like emptor was go. Listen much like any other saying he would being. I don't want volunteers to come run me down in the streets either, but. Felt like it was a little bit his. To be fair. It was everyone's fault. That I'm fine with that. Even though it was like Macaire like his his dress or not arm strength. I'm just glad it's not windy in buffalo. Gladly played nice indoor fastest field in the NFL's what they call buffalo stadium. Maybe if buffalo has figured out how to like make McCarron and Josh Allen one person. Six and ten. Hey, that's better that I'm ready to project them at right now. They'll they'll fuck it up again. Peterman get paid out there guys got his own merch Manto map there. That was probably the most fun. I've had watching football and many years since moss was playing. That stinker. People get real upset when you say Randy mosses the greatest wide receiver of all time. It's like, the thing is I've never never have heard anyone like if you're so sure that go, what do you need to like? Nobody's like here Jordan's the goat, not prove it. Just like now he's the goat. If you disagree, whatever, or whoever that people have in the top spot with rice, it's you have to look the numbers in the air and the row run. Okay. He's not been Randy moss. Yeah, sure. Wasn't. And people point to the air, like the forty Niners were not has been about throwing the ball around with that. I think the worst point of all, like rainy malls into multiple times, like Randy moss was forty one. He's getting inducted into all the fame j. Rice's forty-one. Catching eight balls against the Seahawks. Okay. Who cares. What does that mean? Say made rice didn't have to keep proving his mosit- net to keep proving his buoyant. Everyone just agreed. He was already fame. Yeah. We, they only do this receiver. Nobody's like image the best because he did this when he was thirty nine with the cardinals and he's all time leader, I'm sure like who's got the all-time quarter. It's either got to be the Payton or for right for like your yard down. Probably. Yeah, I don't think I'm sure the people probably think Peyton are Beverly, we've mostly got off that. Nobody argue as hard as people will for rice. But now right there, yeah, they come in strong with the rice takes as he's fine. He's just not the best p. I saw people go..

Randy Moss rode big-play ability all the way to Hall of Fame

"Randy moss is a, I first bottle hall of fame. My colleague here is very proud of him. He deserves it out of voter him in the first ballot hall of fame as well. But if we're going to use the criteria to keep te'o Al. How do we justify doing that for Randy moss who literally admitted he played when he wanted to. Te'o played heart all the time. There were times and Oakland. Randy moss admitted. He took off. Because he was frustrated, played hard in England played hard in Minnesota. Wasn't the case in Oakland. What about that. See. That kind of up and down mood econo- stuff has no place in voting when it comes to the hall of fame. Your level of production matters. For example, there are people who say, Chris Weber's a hall of Famer in the NBA look at his numbers. I would say to you is damn show a hall of fame if we talk and fat five. But we talk an MBA career yet a numbers might be, you know what? I remember. I remember ready for this new knowing cat. I remember how to basketball was a hot potato for him when they were in the Western Conference finals against the Lakers and he couldn't give that ball up to Mike Bibby soon enough. That's what I remember. Reggie Miller never went to an NBA finals, but dad brother always wanted to ball. That's not what I saw over Chris Webber. It's not what I do. Numbers watch Shoygu deserves. It still was short deserves. It. What he accomplished in college Shoygu deserves. That's too many moments. When the franchise face the star of the team on the NBA level, not college basketball, NPA level one, no parts that basketball and thank God. He had Mike Bibby and pages to yackobitz and to a lesser degree Vladivostok. I remember. Would the dog Christie's in the world. I remember. So those kind of things that I'm talking about. Got to be about production. It can't be about emotion. And that's why support te'o in that it eight say ESPN. It's inundate seven to nine, three, seven, seven, six thing I want to touch on real quick before the calls is this new NFL rule where you're getting penalized, teen, y'all penalty of for leading with your helmet. I got no problem with it. If you're talking about avoiding launching your head and being like a missile. But I saw the the the penalty call last night by fichus were guys extending the on and trying to lead in it with their shoulder, but ended up their head. You know, the the head ended up touching the body. I something you know what the problem with that is, do y'all know that the hit the Anthony ball put on my man, Aaron Rodgers last year? Do you know that would be a penalty? That is utterly ridiculous. There is nothing illegal or de legitimate about that hit. That is preposterous. Absolutely. No place for it. And I'm here to tell you. Here. The biggest reason why Yasha hate this rule. It's going to delay the game more. Gonna late, the late the game more. As if we don't have enough time spent with the game being delayed because all of these damn penalties. Understanding trying to make the game safer, but dammit, there's a risk that comes with it either planet or you're not. I think the NFL's got this wrong. Aides say he has been seven to nine, three, seven, seven, six to the phones. We go trae you live, Stephen, what's going on with your even. Good. Thank you..

"I mean, it's there's days that I wake up and walk out my door and look at the swimming pool, and it makes me smile. Then I'm able to do that. I worked hard to be able to that for my kids and you know all those numbers and stuff that you just out at me. I mean, it sounded good, but stuff did. That's that's not what I play for. Man. I enjoy playing hope that the entertainment and the joy that I brought to the fans. I hope it was was enough because I love doing it and but you asked me the number one thing that I take for fourteen years playing the league. I made enough money to take care of my family man. And that's one thing that any man would love to have just enough money to take him provide for his family. So they have that. I'm older, like I said, you know, happily married, got a great youthful family got kids in sports yet kids doing this and doing that man, and I'm, I'm able to provide for had them. I mean, you can't actually more for you act. Oh, more than that. Would you let your kids play football? Randy Thirdly, close early, but I gotta advocate him on it. I football a very brutal sport, and I would never let my kids go out there. You know, with blinders on, you know, took them to see the movie concussions. I like to talk to other players and stuff when we meet him. I like to educate them on the game of football. I like to educate them on the business side of football, so, but I don't want 'em plan football just to feel that they need to follow in their father's footsteps. I wanted to play the game because they genuinely love it and it's in their heart in their blood. But that's the case in I welcome to the field with open arms and do they know how different their life is growing up compared to how yours was growing up in ran West Virginia? Do they have any idea? They have no clue. They have no clue. I may not try to preach to them. I try to tell it to him sometimes, but in this generation, just some things that just left unexplained, especially when they really can't have the more understand where I'm coming from. It's just more of Adam. I grew up for street dude, man, I'm not. I'm not saying that. I'm not here to say, man. I just grew up in the street. I'm a street type of guy, so kids didn't grow up that way. So it's just certain things that I that I keep away from them. But I think it's certain things that they need to know educated up onto. And that's why on that Saturday night, when you're giving that speech and your mom is in the audience and she's looking up at you and you're looking down at her, you'll know how far street dude has come to get the canton, Ohio. Best believe that Adam appreciative rope Randy. Thank you very much for the time today. Congratulations on a whole fame run and really a hall of fame life. It's incredible everything that you've been able to overcome and I salute you for getting to where you are today, and I'm proud to have you as a teammate breach data. They had a much loved. So your brother seeing a few. I look forward to my friend. Thank you Randi. Thanks, bye. How great was that and how great was Randy a very special. Thank you to my friend and colleague, Randy moss and congratulations to him on his pending induction into the pro football hall of fame. We'll be back next week with another special edition of the Adam Schefter podcast. Thanks for listening this week. Everybody. Only small knew she had a strong kick even back in the womb and from then on Allie was always kicking a ball and saying she was going to play pro soccer. And one day mostly was kicking a ball against the wall. Her skills drew even more attention for boss said, could you please stop that? And gave me this quarterly numbers. I asked for turns alley just wasn't that good talker, but she was a good accountant. That's why she switched gyco. She knew they could save her a bunch of money on car insurance. "You know, being able to look at the schedule and just being able to see we got Dallas or thanksgiving. Oh, it was just more of, you know you supposed to take it one game at a time. Your coach always tell you to take it one game at a time. Yeah, I have my coming out party Monday night against the Green Bay Packers, but Adam and in all honesty, there was, you know, I just really wanted to play down with not think that the year that I was having really gave me a little bit more comfort that I could go in and really make plays. And you know that touchdown with me up the sideline. It's like early in my career, like later in my career, I probably went out of sight out of probably went out of bounds right there. But early in my career was, you know, I was just terminal. I just wanted to get an in in zone anyway. I could possibly get in the end zone and you know, that's that's. That's something I will never forget as as a player of of how how many. Times I played the Dallas Cowboys and how many times they want. Did Jerry Jones ever expressed to you his regret for bypassing you? Did you ever say anything to him about it? Oh, he's, you know what's funny. We were on the set. We did the preseason game, Dallas Cowboys against the LA Rams two years ago. You remember that game. We were there. We watched in the truck together. There you go. So Jerry comes out and we're on the set. And so you know, I just wanted to pay my respects. Jerry, you know, just destroy some love, you know, just let him know. Like, you know, I I, I'm not, you know, mad or bitter anymore because you didn't draft. You know, let bygones be bygones. So I came off to set, you know, Tempe motive shoulder. You know, held out my hand in my hand and he actually gave me a hug in West Virginia. My ear man, Randy, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Hey, we should have drafted to. You're not mad at me, and I just said, you know, Mr. Jones all is forgiven. You know, understand it was a, you know, businesses Hitchens a game is the business. I understand that man, you know really good to me that he was able to just, you know to say, sorry. I mean, that's Jerry Jones. He didn't have to polish out for that. You know. So for him to say that to me, hug me whisper, my ear. That meant a lot to me, hopefully emit something to him. But it meant a lot to me knowing that, you know the Martin that I was able to put on the National Football League, the market, I was able to put all others, you know, with with with with the genuine Mark, you have the owner of the Dallas Cowboys come up and apologize to me for not drafting devil. See that would have been some kind of combination. Randy moss on America's team. Thinking about that for a moment. Randy moss on the Dallas Cowboys. Wow. I feel like the ring to that. Hey, I'm to happen, but one that could have happened that would have been a great. I mean, I would I went to the locker room. I think I'm trying to think. I think Michael was in there working out and I just really just look at the history, looked at their Super Bowl rings and just look at, you know, a professional locker room been able to see inside, you know, talk to to Jerry, been able to talk to Dion and you know, kinda like you go to your first recruiting trip and they kind sale. You come into this school and they don't want you to take any other visits, kind of like, you know, the visit, I took the Dallas, they kinda sold me, but I didn't know it was like college recruiting. So. And that was your that was your that was your Predrag visit? Yeah. I mean, that was the one that really sold me, and I was so used to what what I was recruited in college that I thought, you know, I really wasn't up to speed about. How it went. But I think that my mindset was kinda like the the, the college for matter of recruiting. And so when they were telling me they were gonna draft, they weren't kidding me..

"The hall of fame roasts you and the incoming class and you're sitting in this room lamb I, you're sitting in this room Randy with the greatest football players of all time and they don't allow anybody in. But back when I was the president of the pro football writers of America, they allowed the officials of the PF w. a. in there. So I got to attend some of those luncheons, and I could tell you to this day, it still was. One of the greatest honors of my career to be allowed into that small fraternity even though I'm not in that fraternity, but to be allowed to observe that small fraternity and to see how they treat the incoming members that that luncheon on Friday is gonna blow you away. And then Friday night, you're going to be handed your goal jacket and you're going to be brought to tears. And then Saturday night when ran west, Virginia's in the audience and everybody and you gotta get the speech, you're going to have truly one of the most emotional weekends of your entire life ever. It's going to overwhelm you and it's going to be more than you could ever anticipate. Do you have any idea about what's ahead. No, but I'm gonna tell you what I told you. I fun Adam for fourteen years playing a game that I started out playing since I was six years old. So my wife told me I've never ever celebrated any of my -ccomplish live. I don't know what it feels like. I don't even think I know how to party or celebration if if that's what it is and I'm not, I'm I'm not blowing smoke and I'm not sitting here looking for any seventy, but I've never celebrated any accomplishments that I've ever had in fourteen years. So like I say, I don't know what that feels like. Why is that? Is that? Is that because you're just so busy focused on what was a head. And I guess I because I was just so used to it. I, you know, I I've been laying over six years old at him. So the only thing that I really cared about was winning and losing because that's that's really what I was taught. I mean, you win games. Everybody's happy if you game loose games. No one's happy. So I was saying I really cared about was going out here to compete with with with a with a team, and we, you know, just win. And like I say, when they're when they finally, would it dawned on me that they were paying me to play this game? Oh, man. I didn't know what the thing you know, because I love doing it. I mean, I've been doing it for so long. I just love playing football. So when they told me I was able to get checks from it, man, I didn't know. I didn't know what to think of what to do. I just know that there's been able to to put smiles on a lot of people's faces manages. That's really what made me feel good with playing football, being able to help him please others? Would you. Allow yourself to celebrate your accomplishments on hall of fame weekend. I mean, I don't. I don't really know what they're would really feel like. I mean, I, I know I'm gonna have my family and my friends around me, hopefully have some of my teammates. You know, I'm fighting Dante colpepper a hope he comes. He meant a lot to me to my fourteen year career, you know? So just being able to, you know, just be around, you know, a lot of guys that that that really meant some to me. I guess if that's what the party in reminiscent and hugging and stuff listening to music, and if that's what that we can consist and I look forward to it yet, that's that I'm going to do it. We'll be back in a moment with more of my conversation with Randy moss..

"Of fame week, we'll be joined by one of the newest members of the pro football hall of fame, Randy moss who recounts the road from rand West Virginia. Take Cain, Ohio. How are we feeling about the pro football hall of fame coming up here real quick Randy. What what, what is this experience been like for you? Well, you know what Adam is is actually being crazy because just been able to think all the way back to to Mr Baker knocking on my door, man, it's been a, it's been a crazy journey, but you know what I've been receiving so much love. And I think that the biggest thing that I've been overwhelmed with was me going throughout my NFL career Adam and, and you know here in, you know, all the negative stuff that was said about me, talk about me and then being able to receive that, that knock on the door from from David Baker and going out to different parts of the country and just receiving a lot of people's genuine love Mansour up just over well with, I think there's more of the fast important than anything else would that love coming your way and deservedly. So is there one message from one person or one gesture from one person that is stood out to you and left him. Mark with you. This thing off the top of my head really know. One thing that really stood out to me was we're just being from a small town and come from a community on corporated where a lot of people were just looking at me just for, you know, one reason and that was just for happiness, entertainment. And I think this throughout my whole career of people heard me talking about rain university, ran West Virginia, you know, shout out to all my people back and ran and stuff like that because that's really, that's really all I know. You know, just throwing up. I just I only really new rang. It really didn't go many places growing up and went to college, ended up coming back to this date. So you know, for me to be able to be on that big of a stage, you know, all I can just think about is, you know, being back on the country roads and just wondering if my. Was you know, making the people that I grew up with is making them proud and making them happy. So that was one of the biggest things that I that I took throughout my fourteen career as you know, taking my community and putting them on my back and just making everybody. Well, when do you have any idea Randi growing up in West Virginia going to do in high school? When do you have any idea that the pro football hall of fame would be an attainable goal? Never never ever. Wow, I never. I. I mean, I never ever really ever thought about. I mean, you can go back to high school college. You can go to any of my interviews. I don't think I've ever said professional. I've never said home and fame and any of my interviews and I can't remember. So for me to thing, I just wanted to display football..

"No and king or your wife did yeah we were sitting around trying to think of a name. For like about three weeks after I signed with NBC and every name somebody. Hated we've thought of two hundred names and one day and. King says hey isn't the Sunday night In called football night in America why don't you call your, column, football morning in America And I said. To myself Sam flood is going to like that name We're going to get some agreement on that one right. There I think king deserves a little cut of the KYW due, to I think she gets a little cut All right the topic. Right now in the NFL was what Oh look out We got a spill and I'll six-year. Bill the, topic I, mean I guess unfortunately is Terrel Owens or. Levy on Bill let me start. With, Sarah head Do we know what his gripe is I assume I mean look I I'm assuming that it's the I got into my third year and the way I look at that basically is. That two thirds of the three hundred and some odd people who were? In. The pro football hall of fame got in after? Their first year of eligibility does? That, make Harry Carson and Ron Yeary and Lynn Swann and, Fran tarkenton does that make them less hall of, fame deserving does that make their bus. Different no it's just the silliest controversy in hall of. Fame history, but it's, a controversy so we must address it but. Also this is what he wants I mean Yeah if he went there and, just said thank, you ungrateful and it's great to. Join these these fellow hall. Of famers You know there's there's no I was out in, Tahoe last week that golf tournament. Aaron Rodgers out there but was out, having a drink with a bunch of older guys like people of? Peter king's, generation and one of them said to me does he have any idea. How for the, rest of his life I mean, he's going to be able to make money off the hall of fame now if he this is, the hall of fame is he going. To be able to make money off the hall of fame and this was a this. Was a, very well respected person and so you know the? Hall? Of fame sort. Of shuffles, business hall of famers ways I mean are they, going to do that with Tarallo wins now I don't know it's I that's, not the. Biggest reason or the biggest anything but it just strikes? Me, that he's cutting off his nose despite, his face but, whatever should he have been a. First ballot hall of Famer I mean I've supported him all along I didn't think it was some, grave injustice because I do think there were some things against him Nobody. Wants to hear this but he was a third of a teammate that's all there is to it And he dropped the ball a lot particularly later in his career. I in my. Opinion though without any question he deserves to be in the pro football hall of fame I, supported him I'm glad he's in and I could? Care less whether he's in canton or not in Kim, do we view Randy moss differently than we do. And I think we do because Randy moss. To me I look at Randy moss is a singular, player I don't look at Tarallo Enzi singular player I think Randy. Moss was such an incredible, deep thread so incredibly great stretching the field and dominating games with his speed And his hands deep downfield. He had great hands I I mean I. Look at Randy moss is being fifteen percent better player, whatever the number save and tear allowance also he's grown up yeah Yeah he has Randy moss who's really has yeah yeah he's shirt. And now Tara loans wants to still make a comeback in the CFL I read I just read that this morning on my way up here in teaches own if he wants to do it I will say, this few years, ago when, I. Was running the QB we had CFL week and I went up to two games in the NFL and I met like three. Or four, coaches had long conversation John health, Nagel remember him yeah he was a either a coach or, GM of the stampede IRS state Penn State. Guy anyway as the. Former giants quarterback coach. But anyway they all all these coaches say all these guys come up from. The US and they say..

"Fame just from being on this with you every day and i had no idea that it was so hard for wide receivers to get in for whatever reason there's so many of them is there any possibility that this may be changes at that maybe we got over the hump with with allowing wide receivers in or is this just because they were so ridiculously gifted will drill own should have gotten in two years ago so they they've hold him they held him out because they moved the finish line randy moss they couldn't deny him larry fitzgerald and these other guys will become the next seven to ten years the bar is so high you know because if you look at te'o and randy both one hundred fifty touchdown over a thousand catches like no it didn't get an easier just because they got in it's going to always be very difficult for why receivers to judge what isn't hall of fame wide receiver based on inflated numbers i showed my son randy moss highlights for a half hour this week because he's too young to watch couldn't believe what he was saying what a fun athlete to watch happy for him and all those guys finally one of the more important defensive plays of the game brandon graham managed to strip tom brady right here in the eagles were covered allowing them to extend the lead from five to eight while taking another minute off the clock see how big of a play was this one play the super bowl i mean if you look at tom brady driving to win the game brandon graham that they don't have any sex of this point if they don't get any sex or not gonna win i'm not it's hard to take it back and be like okay hindsight but if they don't get pressure on those laugh driving if they don't sack brady they're not gonna win the game so let loan sacking but they get the strip the turnover the momentum which leads to three more points to build a give them the margin of victory that they had man this was a big play after not being successful so the bility to stay positive.

"And t verizon wireless we've talked about the phillies we talked about the sixers let's talk about football and the pro football hall of fame and one of the greats especially in a short time served in an eagles uniform is one terrel owens terrones has been elected into the two thousand eighteen hall of fame class along with the likes of ray lewis and randy moss brian urlacher brian dawkins in the eighteen classes it's an exciting time to be associated with the eagles and you thought okay tvos got some some good company this hall of fame ceremony with the induction speeches should be pretty exciting but teo lets us know this week he's not showing up for that and a lot of people have been just why would he not do that that's so disrespectful to the hall of fame but let's look at to's case specifically it took them three years to get into the hall of fame now i did take him three years to get in the hall of fame he was arguably more deserving than some of the guys that went in and then you have guys like gary myers who was a columnist for the new york daily news saying that his off the field antics subtracted from his production as a player and he was a cancer of sorts to his teammates and that's why he didn't vote him in and he didn't deserve to go in but then gary myers in year three does vote him in and teo decides he's not showing up and gary myers goes on to say this quote terrel owens informed pro football hall of fame he's not he's not attending the induction ceremony unprecedented this is in.

"Two guys that you could argue statistically were top three receivers all time to avi more polarizing personalities surely all time the only reason why teo is in this conversation as a guy getting in in his third try and not anything sooner was because of personality fit was because of the way the he was viewed as a team may i found out more things about the perception of what the hall of fame actually meant through the lens of teo but maybe any other player in history used to just be i thought were you a good enough player to be in the hall of fame hall of fame caliber player now apparently it'd be a hall of fame caliber teammate you had to be hall of fame caliber when you address the media and all the above apparently we had digital just like youth rolv this which seemed like an unbelievably teddy part of this process that is supposed to just reward guys because the whole thing is littered with guys that are probably substandard human beings they we can find enough of those i just come there for the really good football players more often than not now is cool moment for us here at espn one of our colleagues seem on sunday countdown randy moss straight cash the minnesota legend getting to do so in the city that he played so much of his career four particularly emotional moment for him that was fun to sort of get to live as they document the announcements the guys getting the news that they are now pro football famers during move.

"And now looked at him he's professionally broadcasting much thinking his forehead he's got his back to the microphone and his forehead he's redfaced with his forehead against the steel studio door laughing at his own joke anyway what i was saying is bill barn well first of all you guys here the rumor that randy moss was almost traded to the packers four aaron rogers look that up as well what sat is something that has made an appearance over the last twenty four hours and bill barnwell was where it is that i learned it but bill barnwell put on twitter a photograph i don't know are a video i don't know if you remember this of randy moss catching a touchdown against the dolphins and one of the most special unstoppable things then i've ever seen in sports not just football was tom brady throwing deep to randy moss i remember specifically randy moss tom brady throwing deep to randy moss against the dolphins in tripple coverage he just torn up there 'cause he knew randy would go get it and randy go went and got it but bill barn we'll put up a video of tom brady throwing a ball poorly to the corner of the end zone and randy moss jumping up over the safety to catch the ball when the safety was in perfect position i wasn't even a wealth through ball and what he wrote was announcers said this was moss wanting the ball more which is probably true but also that moss was on another plane of existence so what he said is that randy moss the idea of announcer saying moss wanted it more.
