I just love these people lanes barbecue. lanes bbq dot com their web site there in bethlehem georgia and. Now listen. I got a lot of places. Barkley is retiring the luke's at turner broadcasting have come for charles barkley and he has had enough listen. This is not surprising. The turner broadcasting. Charles barkley is a popular popular host. And he said that the tertre management made him stop making fun of san antonio's women says he says we get a funny more. Now here's the thing you need to know. Charles barkley has been making jokes about the women of san antonio texas for at least twenty years He refers to as the big old women san antonio and he's not wrong and he's had enough he. He's if if the if the woke set turner can't laugh then they're done he's he's ready to be gone And the the turner people are so scared of the woke mob on social media that they're gonna lose charles barkley now because he's just fed up with you know this is part of the problem. This is is part of the problem. The management of various news networks are deeply afraid of the works and the woke mob and the like and they can't take stand. They're scared to death to take a stand. They're scared to death to stand up to a twitter mob. With not reality you can survive the twitter ma by just not engaging them they eventually pretty rapidly usually move onto something else but the turner management. If you're on the left you care. More deeply about what social media says turner management is on the left. So they very much care deeply about was this. By the way would they get bought by discovery. Ats seldom to discoveries. Only gonna get worse. It's only gonna get worse the phone number here. Eight seven seven nine seven eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. When we come back. I do need to spend a few minutes. It actually is a very big national story. The southern baptist convention is media. Nashville is the largest protestant denomination the united states and they've elected a new president. It is not who the media expected them to elect in its turn on all of their narratives on their head. It's actually been very funny to watch the meltdown in the media as they realize the guy they thought was gonna win. Did not win someone else did. And what does it mean well. Their conclusion was predictable and also wrong could join me the phone number if you would like to be a part of this year program is eight. Seven seven nine seven eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. I listen. I realized this is an esoteric conversation for some of you eat shouldn't be and i want to explain. Why out of the gate. I on a off a news. Talk program i feel compelled to talk about the southern baptist convention and i'm not even baptist The reason is because it is news worthy in fact every major news outlet today is covering the story. They're covering it wrong. Of course. I would like to set the record straight. The southern baptist convention is the largest protestant denomination in america. There are millions of baptists across the country. Some of them now prefer great commission. Baptist southern baptist They don't they think. The southern branding clauses regionalism issue for them. They had their vote for a new president today. There were four candidates randy adams from washington. State ed linton from alabama. Al molar from kentucky and mike stolen from here in georgia. In fact mike stone talked to was the speaker at my kids. School graduation Couple of weeks ago Mike stolen was the guy everyone expected to win. He is a conservative conservative. Al molar is a conservative. Serve as well alborz like this other baptist. Pope alma has taught and trained almost all the prominent southern baptist preachers in america. He is the president of the southern baptist. Theological seminary ed lynton is a baptist. Preacher from north mobile alabama. I think is north mobile baptist churches. They moves church and he is perceived as a moderate. He talks about racial reconciliation. He's not a critical race. Theory proponent but has thought that the education against it is misguided and then there's randy adams you really didn't make a bit of difference. He was thrown from washington state. Got like six hundred. Seventy five votes out of almost fifteen thousand cast is only big issue as the. He's not happy with the international mission. Board within the southern baptist convention now A lot of people are the headline. is that edlington. one and the baptists reject to the hardcore conservative. That's not really true. Yes lytton won with fifty two percent of the vote but they do a they essentially take two rounds they have a primary runoff so to speak and whoever unless one person gets fifty percent the top to go into the runoff well almo- or came in third. It came in second. Mike stone came in i in the first round l. Molar and mike stolen together got sixty percent of the vote on the nose. Mike stalled is backed by the most Hard core of the conservatives. El molar is backed by the conservatives. Effort was backed by the more. Moderate people Al molars voters went to clinton in the second round. Now you need to know some background. Here al muller was probably had the election been had last year a shoo-in but they extended jd greer's by your because a covert they couldn't meet to do a vote so the executive council of the spca agreed to let greer stay on another year Normally when your term molar did not back. Donald trump in two thousand sixteen and the hardcore conservatives held it against him in addition Al molar is a very nice man. He is very nice. Everyone who meets elmore and elmore when reason people did like him as he's not a nasty person and there are people within the southern baptist convention the conservatives have decided they disliked like for example russell moore and beth moore no relation between the two. Both of them have left the southern baptist convention Al muller says. Nice things about both of these not willing to attack them in fact russell more Worked under amour for a number of years. Aller has come out aggressively against critical race theory. But he hasn't performed remember yesterday. I told you guys that what are the issues. We're dealing with in the country right. Now is a song and dance routines. You can't just say you're against something you've got to rip off your shirt spray. Paint your opposition across your chest. Beat it and scream and if you're not willing to do that well then are. We really sure you really are committed to what you say you're committed to alor is not into performance. He's into telling you what he believes. And you either accept it or you don't some conservatives have gone into postmodernism and decided well unless you do me a song and dance. I can't really believe in truth. And by the way you didn't vote for trump so clearly. You're suspect so. Those people all with with mike stolen from here in georgia now. Mike stoled is a good guy. Mike stone is a committed pasture. He's in black sheer georgia. He is as conservative as al. Muller is on everything but mike stolen is willing to do the song and dance. That al miller's not so a group forum to call the conservative baptist network. it's a group of people. some of whom are griffey's not all of them. But some and they had convinced themselves that they're indispensable to the southern baptist convention and that it is a necessary fight to stop they left wing drift the southern baptist convention and you were either completely for them or completely against them there can be no nuance. And jesus wept. They ran a political campaign as if they were running for congress instead of running a campaign to be the head of a of an intra denominational loose confederacy of pastors churches They engaged in character. Assassination and smear campaigns whether it was dimmer their supporters. Most people think the cbi and was behind a lot of it They were engaged in the mike stone. Supporters let me. Put it to you. That way mike stone supporters were ruthlessly engaged in the character assassination of some very good some very conservative people. But they weren't with mike stolen and they weren't with the this group therefore they were the enemy and they were treated as such so a lot of al molars supporters wound up going within lytton the more moderate person not because they see eye to eye with lit on every issue but they wanted to rebuke the way. The people around mike stone conducted themselves so this was not so much a vote against mike stone as it was a vote against the people who were aggressively pushing. Mike stole he was repudiated because of them and because he never said anything about him. I mean they were going after. Danny aac full disclosure. I've been working on my doctorate at southeastern baptist theological seminary. Da deviated is the president there and the man is a conservative. He's just a nice guy he doesn't get into the tit for tat fights that some people Believe they should these days. He has drafted statements against critical race. Theory he's a complementary. Meeting men should be the head of the household all the things that any baptist could want he is and yet he's been has character assassinated by people tied to my own because he didn't support. Mike stole it. It was really really gross to see. A group of people justify their nasty conduct in the name of defensive faith and they've been repudiated now the headlines in all of the newspapers was that the baptist chose to go to more moderate direction. And it's true He is a couple of maturity. Believes men should be the household. He's against critical race theory although he thinks that nuances can be used to jam relations. He is in favour of talking about reconciliation. He is believed that the sexual abuse survivors of this other. Convince you need to be treated respectfully And so yes to that degree. He's more moderate than some but he's also still believes a biblical inheritance. He believes the bible's the word of god believes in the physical resurrection of christ believes in complementary And on and on a go so it's not like he's a liberal he's just not the hardcore conservative engaged in song and dance of burning down the critical theorists that supports them so you gotta have some nuance to understand this. And the fact of the matter is that the conservatives who back stolen really did behave terribly so lytton one As a rebuke to those who backed stone and to stole himself. There were some criticism stolen of how he handled behind the scenes stuff related to sexual abuse survivors within the southern baptist convention and that all came out of the last couple of weeks and that hurt him as well for the media to say the southern baptist decided to go to more moderate direction to is. A is a flat-out Willful intention to try to break up. Southern baptist convention. Now there are some of the hardcore conservatives out there who want to break up the southern baptist convention because mike stone didn't win That that would be a schism within the convention that would spill over into american cultural life. But it's the media. Do its best to stir the pot right call. The spca gone more moderate. They really haven't i mean. Sixty percent of southern baptists on the first ballot voted for or or mike stone to men whose conservative credentials are not in dispute but the media course always views everything as conservative versus liberal anti-trump versus always trump and that's the way they viewed the southern baptist fight. There was some of the trump stuff in the al molar situation. And that didn't back trump in two thousand sixteen and in twenty twenty like i did came around the backing The hard core conservatives who interestingly enough almost all of the prominent ones who were opposed to miller from that angle or are deeply involved in politics and in fact were deeply involved in the election. Donald trump. They held a grudge against molar in helped Make him come in third place but then they themselves were rebuked now a number of friends of mine and politics of reach out to me and said how do you interpret what happened well. My interpretation is not that The moderates really one they didn't i mean sixty percent went for more sold the first ballot and lytton maybe more moderate in tone. But it's not like he doesn't believe in biblical near and see your couple materialism the real issue here is that it looks to me like this. Other baptist convention is moving on from donald trump because this convention is made up of a lot of people who very much are ardent supporters of donald trump and. That's why the media thought mike stolen was going to get elected because he was perceived as being the trumpian candidate. But the conventions demographics are younger. Now it's a lot of committed christians they're committed to biblical sexual ethics. They're committed to Complimentary unisom they're committed to opposition to critical race theory. All of these things in fact they passed a resolution saying that A world view that views people by their race or ethnicity is incompatible with biblical christianity. They rebuked critical race theory without rebuking critical race theory. Essentially one of the arguments in favor of the resolution was that we shouldn't just condemn. Crt because it just changed the name. It's to do the same thing so let's pass this instead and they did but what is really notable. Here is that the younger audience of the southern baptist convention is no less conservative than the old guys who backed mike stone but they certainly do think they're speaking into a world that has changed and they believe toll matters. Now you can think tone. Does it matter but they did. They didn't drift to the left as the new york. Times is reporting today and the wall street journal is reporting today and the washington post is reporting today. They just decided to go forward not backward. They decided to be conservative. In a way that might actually reach people who are skeptical and they decided they don't want people bringing political fights into the southern baptist convention which in and of itself isn't important shift culturally moving forward for the southern baptist the largest protestant denomination in the united states to essentially signal. That it's kind of. It's not done fighting the culture war but it is done fighting politics for a little while that's going to have profound consequences moving forward. The phone number is eight. Seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. The associated press has decided. It's not going to name names in certain crimes anymore. I want to get there. But i i want to finish up thought of you just tuning in All this back and forth. It's nice to see a respectful back and forth between people on the right who disagree these days David french and dan mclaughlin engaging with each other over critical race theory. And i i got to read you from damage mclaughlin. Who does a very good job of characterizing david french and and you all understand this. Because you're all kinda against david french right now but french actually has a concern that all of you should have is valid. His underlying assumptions defensive. David french assumes small government conservatism is going to lose more than it wins. The assumption is born out of decades of experience. He assumes cultural conservatism will find itself more often anita protection from government institutions. Then running them also of you supported by recent experience in a defensive posture it's vital to have neutral procedural in structural rules to protect the weaker side. By contrast the new populist right stints to assume it can and will take over institutions and culture. And probably soon it rejects the need for neutral rules of constrain and abandons its defensive it's the mindset of the french armies plan seventeen in one thousand nine fourteen with zil conceived insistence on launching an offensive through the center while the vast german army was sweeping down to paris from the north and every man france could spare was needed to hold the line on the marne in other words. It's it's foolish. And by the way. I think that's right. Listen a cultural. Conservatism is in large part premised on christian theological beliefs. Say that again to get to the next point here. Cultural conservatism is in large part premised on christian theological beliefs and christian morality. The things of the world hate the things of god. There are more of them than there are of us. to the a cultural conservatism. Going to advance through institutions and the end of days is foolhardy. It's foolish it's not going to happen so french. Classical liberalism has a pretty good argument to make right now and that is that we should have our institutions assume neutral procedures in neutral rules. But this is where it breaks down. And this is the problem with bridges argument He is upset with state governments passing laws that banned the teaching of critical race theory in public schools now. His argument has been modified since mclaughlin pointed out some flaws and that's essentially that some of the bills reportedly drafted but there are great institutions other alec. For example the american legislative exchange council bogeyman of the left is actually really highly competent organization that can help draft good legislation to prohibit critical race. Theory from advancing. The problem with bridges argument is that public. Schools are extensions of the government. They're not private enterprise so if a government bans a government school from not teaching the reindeer governments till schools. What to teach you what not to teach all the time. It's perfectly fair. Why should conservatives unilaterally disarm on that front. I mean the left tells schools all the time which you gotta teach. I mean in some states. They're trying to impose sixteen thousand nine project on public schools. Why the hell should we want. The sixteen. nineteen project taught anywhere. And you're given no choice if you can't afford to send your kid to private school or you don't have the time to homeschool mute goddess injure kid public school. The government will throw your butt in jail if you don't send your kid to school so to tell conservatives. They can't block critical race theory from public schools win. Conservatives are one forced to pay for it to forced to send their kids there. Is i think about argument. I in fact think that we have got to stand up and fight critical theory in all government operations because it is designed to divide us. It is designed to divide his. I would love to stop talking about the topic. I feel like i talk about it every day. But they're so much on there and by the way. I am happy to answer your questions on. If you've got questions on critical theory feel free to call the show. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. It is just a nonstop cavalcade of corruption on the left Trying to do this. I was An email changed with a guy down in florida talking about the hearings in florida and it was a foregone conclusion that the florida government was going to ban teaching critical theory. It was a foregone conclusion. They were and left wing. Protesters came in and tried to shut them down. Tried to shout them down. Tried to stop him and when they went into recess. Take a bathroom break. The left wing protesters got up and left. And so this guy was telling a group of us already changes. I went out to the bathroom and was confronted by one of these guys started yelling at me and i looked at him and i said. Aren't you going to come back in and see the media. You know we know how you're going to vote. We just want y'all know y'all racist nell. How is it racist to block critical race theory seat. There's a shuttle subtle shift in the argument on the left. Now that if you ban critical theory you're actually going to ban the teaching of history. See what they're doing here. They're connecting critical theory with teaching history. That that if you ban it you're not going to grow. We want to teach history. We want people to learn history. We just do not want them to be under the impression that they are somehow bad or evil because they're white that's not history that's racism and yet the left now in the country has equated White people with be racist and they must have their nose rubbed in it or else. That's that's really is problematic that we're at this point that you're you're presumed to be racist. You're one hundred percent presume to be racist unless you embraced the idea of a left-wing orthodoxy and that that can be sustained now that gets me into the associated press dissociated press decided eat is no longer going to name names in crimes because it does not want people in the future who may be looking for a job to get in trouble when someone does a google search on him and found out. They broke the law. They don't wanna be defined by their mind racks so the associated press standard. Is that if it's a crime where they have no intention of covering the details of the crime beyond the arrest. They're not going to mention the person's name. And i get that because there are oftentimes people who are Who who are arrested for crime and then they're found not guilty and that arrests could scarred them that'll arrests could hurt them. So i get the concern. I think the concern is legitimate here but it's also starting to get under. Get out of hand. I gotta get the name right. Hang on i. Gotta i gotta get the name right because yes yeah. Yeah yeah okay. You gotta understand what's going on now. There's a trend now in the media where the media is not giving you racial details about people so for example in austin texas in austin texas. The austin statesman newspaper refused to give out details of who the wanted. Shooter was for a mass shooting in texas the other day because it was a young black man wearing a particular type of shirt and they decided that that would stereotype black people so the people what the shooter looked like. I'm not making that up. They literally announced they would not release the details of the shooting suspect because it could be used to stereotype people and now in georgia. The same thing has happened. Victor li tucker junior was asked to adjust his mask in a grocery store he killed. The cashier. started a shootout a customer. This the washington post a customer who argued over wearing a mask at george supermarket shot and killed a cashier monday before engaging in a shootout with an off. Duty sheriff's deputy that left the deputy and a second cashier. Wounded officials said police identified the slain cashiers. Forty one year old liquid willis. The shoot unfolded just after one pm. Monday at the big bear supermarket in decatur georgia when investigators say customer later identified as thirty year old. Victor li tucker junior left the store after the mass dispute without making his purchase but he immediately returned chucker walk directly back to the cashier pulled out a handgun and shot her. The georgia bureau of investigation said after killing willis. The gunman opened fire on the off duty. Dekalb county sheriff's deputy who tried to intervene during his shift as a security guard. The gunman's bullet struck the deputy twice in grazed. Second woman who is also a cashier. None of their wounds were considered life threatening the deputy fired back and hit tucker at least once. Police arrested tucker's. He was attempting to crawl out of the front door of the supermarket. He was charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault according to court records. Now there's a problem with the refusal now to go into details about the suspect if they're black. The reason is because a number of progressive activists heard that it was someone shooting up a grocery store because he was told to wear a mask they immediately concluded it had to be a white guy. They went out and found a guy named Victor tucker victory tucker who happened to be white and began saying look at this. This is a white guy. Had he been black they would've killed and it took on a life of its own and it turns out the victory tucker who the left was passing around as the shooter. The white guy wasn't actually the white guy. It happened to be a Young black man and within the left realized of course they deleted all the tweets and tried rabbit hole. But that's the point here because the media refuses now to discuss the race of shooters if they're black. The left is immediately. Able to engage in disinformation while it clearly. It was a white guy. I mean he who who else is about. Not wearing a mask in america white people and they found this guy. Named victor li tucker. They assumed it was him. They put up his picture. It's not him. The media's willfulness to withhold ratio by the way the associated press dot to cover the stuff. I guess it's going to give them more time to cover hamas propaganda but this is where we are in the country now race believe it or not is actually an identifier of people in allegedly. Were supposed to talk all about racing. Be obsessed with race in fixate on the color of skin unless you commit a crime and were afraid of syria. W the whole thing is just nonsensical. Let's go back to the phones tony. You're up next. Welcome the real quick about so critical. Everything was against What this is really about the democrat party is they're losing their grip on This generation of what they're trying to do with it trying to set up the next generation of black victim and if this is what they're trying to do because believe it or not will up. We know what democrat party is about. We know that they just try. Feel like you know where the victims and you know. It's racism and support us and so these children the next generation so we get into schools and now we teach them but they're losing grip may know it so this is what they're trying to if all about i say this because i'm encountering this regularly now thank you for the phone call. I incurring this regularly with people who i know in the black community. Who they're just they're kind of over it. A couple of them have gone. So far to flirt with voting. One of them did now. Most of them are still voting democrat. But they're less into everything is racist. The system is racist. Mean they voted for barack. Obama got elected twice. It's really hard to say. The system is racist and you have to in order to believe that. Have to ignore our history and how much progress we've made but as the left is losing its grip on for example black and hispanic voters in the democratic party. Have you noticed that. They're up in the rhetoric. They're up in the craziness there up in the shrill nature of what they claim. Try to keep people from leaving the democratic party. Once a black or hispanic person realizes That the republicans support getting them jobs and giving them good educations. It's amazing how quickly they are prone to start voting republican. You've got to completely dismiss everything about the current patterns and breakfast. Gop northern by the way the democrats internalize donald trump was bad. Donald trump is racist. He got a higher percentage of black and hispanic voters to vote for him than mitt romney mccain did and they are having a real hard time rationalizing why that was the case and they seem to think that somehow fox news lied to these people and that's why they would republican. That's not true. at all. And to the extent they continued to believe that the extent to which the republicans will continue to outperform those communities. And by the way. There's a lot of data out there suggesting. There is a massive shift in hispanic voter voting to the gop because of jobs in safety turns out the hispanic community really isn't in the defunding. The police eight seven seven nine seven eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. Let's go back to the phones bill. You're going to be up next. Welcome or good her. You yup well thank you I just wanted to start off. Congratulating uribe syndication congratulations. Thank you now. I've got a question. Yes sir i've got a question Your local to atlanta and you're familiar with victory hill cases just of the federal tightness pertains to civil rights violations at the county jail. Yeah right I grandfather was better aged sixty s and north florida and he had to go to many prisons but many indictment sought terrible terrible people that did terrible things not damaged and it made national news. I'm just curious why. Victor hill hasn't been national news. A well i if i had to guess given the the way the media covers these things yet. There is a racial situation involved. I think if rows now for those of you who don't know let me read you from the department of justice in their press release clayton county is on the south side of atlanta. It is a majority minority county. Victor hill is an embattled sheriff. There who was removed from office by the voters restored office. They've been all sorts of crazy allegations over the years about this guy. He's now been indicted on federal civil rights charges for ordering his employees to use excess force against four pretrial detainees at the clayton county. Jail in twenty twenty. The indictment alleges that sheriff victor hill without any legal justification ordered his employees to strap the detainees into a restraint chair and keep them there for hours in violation of their constitutional rights. The indictment further alleges. That hill deprived detainees of their due. Process rights because such use of force was unreasonable amounted to punishment and caused the detainees physical pain and bodily injury while the vast majority of our law enforcement officers perform their duties bravely professionally and with honor those few who abused their power must be held accountable. Said the acting. Us attorney occurred or skin. According to the us attorney's office indictment other information presented in court. The clayton county sheriff's office inmate restraint cheer policy which was approved by hill states. That are restraint. Chair may be used by security staff to provide safe containment of inmate exhibiting or uncontrollable behavior and to prevent self injury injured. Two others or property damage when control techniques are not effective consistent with the process clause of the fourteenth amendment the cheer show never be authorized as a form of punishment and yet. They believe that it has now. What's the deal here well. Victor hill is popular and black and disrupts the narrative. If you were white sheriff the media would run this as a national story. But because he's not a white sheriff he's black sheriff in a majority black community. The national media could not care less about the story because it disrupts the prevailing narrative that the media would prefer you to believe in.

"The world and everything in it is made possible by listeners. Like me i'm kevin cusak of grand rapids michigan. And i'm a board member here at world i serve and give because i believe in world sound journalism grounded in facts and biblical truth. This happens to be world's june giving drive. Please dig deep and give big by joining me in supporting this important work by visiting. Wnyc dot org slash donate. I hope you enjoy today's program. Good morning the southern baptist convention has a new president. He'll tell us his vision for the future. I think we're worried about drifting. But i don't think we're drifting into liberals i think we're drifting into also today analysis of the summit between president biden and president putin in geneva last week plus hiking for the soul spending time on the trail to deepen your faith. There is some kind of wisdom that god reveals through nature and principals. They think you get from being outside so much. It's tuesday june twenty second. This is the world and everything in it from listener supported world radio. I'm mary record and armed. Nick eicher good morning. Now here's the news with kent covington. The senate is gearing up for a showdown today on. Us election law. Lawmakers planning test vote of the four. The people act the sweeping elections bill would be the largest overhaul of us voting law in a generation the legislation could shift a great deal of power over voting rules from states to washington during debate on the senate floor monday. Republicans texas senator. John cornyn said he will oppose it. The constitution doesn't give the democratic party or the republican party to govern how states run their elections. That's reserved to the states by the constitution of the united states of america but senate majority leader chuck schumer said washington has to step in to walk back. New voting laws and republican led states which democrats have called on just about election integrity. They're not about voter fraud. These policies have one purpose and one purpose only making it harder for younger poorer. Non white and typically democratic voters to have to access the ballot moderate. Senator joe manchin has been the sole holdout among democrats in the chamber declining to back. His party's bill but late. last week. He aired a list of proposed changes including a national voter. Id requirement but even if every senate democrat chooses to adopt the changes republicans can and likely will filibuster the bill. The supreme court decided unanimously monday. That the ncaa cannot enforce rules. Limiting education related benefits for athletes. It's a ruling that could help push changes and how student athletes are compensated but ncaa president. Marc emmers stressed that the ruling did not erase the lines between college and pro athletes headlines what to portray. This says now trains to athletes and do paid professionals. Who were you know. Very large scaled payments and compensation. That's not what they roll it. All the case does not decide whether students can be paid salaries instead. The ruling will help determine whether schools decide to offer athletes. Tens of thousands of dollars in education benefits for things including tutoring study abroad. Programs in graduate scholarships under the current rules students cannot be paid in the scholarship. Money colleges can offer is capped at the cost of attending the school. The ncaa had defended its rules as necessary to preserve the amateur nature of college sports but the former athletes who brought the case argued that the rules were unfair and violated federal antitrust law designed to promote competition. The supreme court upheld a lower court ruling barring the ncaa from enforcing those rules fans will be allowed to attend the summer. Olympic games next month in tokyo but the stands will not be packed. World's anna joe hansen brown. Has that story. I up today a reset for the united states and russia last week. Joe biden and vladimir. Putin shook hands in geneva switzerland government-backed media in russia hailed the summit as a victory for their guy. They said it marked. The beginning of next phase of world politics reactions in the united states. Were much less enthusiastic. Biden says he's trying to play a long game with putin he believes washington will ultimately benefit from a stable and predictable relationship with moscow but are the short term sacrifices worth it world. You're correspondent jenny. Lynch schmidt reports in separate press conferences following last week senate both biden and putin described the meetings as constructive but they had very different. Take on two of the top issues on the meeting agenda cyber attacks and human rights putin dismissed accusations that the most recent ransomware attacks on. Us companies originated from russia instead. He tried to flip the narrative claiming without evidence that most cyber attacks on russian institutions come from the united states. Paul petite is a professor of cybersecurity at geneva college. He says we can't know for sure who was behind attacks on colonial pipeline and the jbs meat processing plants but the attackers did use ransomware software created in russian. So if you're looking at that do we then say it's a russian attacker just because it was a russian group that made the ransomware then. I don't know who actually was benefiting from the ransomware. I don't know It could be somebody that india could be somebody in the united states south america so could be but Yes the ransomware was created by a russian group However we don't know who actually uploaded president biden said. He made it clear to putin attacks. With russian-built ransomware persist america would respond. He implied that the united states has the cyber technology to inflict real damage petite appease because that scenario extremely problematic this gets into the political side. Where if we talk about actually taking action against another nation state then we are. In the definition of an act of war it is virtually defined as any action deliberately taken against another nation to caused them harm so some hacking group hacks amortization united states and then the us military is going to go attack. Russia no i would say that's crazy any cyberattack by any. Us into russian systems would play directly into putin's domestic narrative of the west trying to destroy his country so the issue of cybersecurity remains a stalemate. But what about human rights did biden. Make any more headway on that issue. I'm dr ian von. Yeah daughter of alexei navalny one of our top local rivals a week before the biden meeting the geneva summit on human and democracy gave it's twenty twenty one moral courage award to russian opposition leader. Alexey navalny his daughter. Doria accepted the award on behalf. It's a big honor for my father and everyone who supports what he's doing. It's an important sign of recognition and it means that the world cares biden says he talked to putin about navalny and would continue to do so but that didn't change putin's take on his opponents jail sentence. He insisted navalny went abroad to seek medical treatment of his own accord violating his parole in fact navales family transported him to germany in a coma after he'd been poisoned with a soviet era. Nerve agent in an interview with cnn. The day after the summit novell chief-of-staff leonid volkov said putin's bald faced. Lie may have been intentionally farfetched. I'm lying what will you do to. Maybe this was exactly the message he wanted to deliver. Putting doesn't know such things as like compromise race roussev button red lines for the only news of he could do with a hurons and he's good to go away but he does and the still still be like talking about strong condemnation grave concerns. This member of the russian opposition in moscow agrees. We're not using his name to protect his safety. Russian government and putin see it as a victory since two thousand fourteen. Russia became an outcast for the western countries and it was really important for putin to show That west still sees him as an equal alleged leader. He said the summit ended up striking a blow against the russian opposition because it made putin feel stronger. He realizes that he can do everything. And then the time will pass. Us will forget everything and try to restart in their relationships during the obama presidency once and it looks like it is happening again. In the last months moscow has cracked down harder than ever on the opposition movement. New laws make even associating with navan. These group a retroactive crime that means hundreds of thousands of citizens are liable for investigation and it effectively eliminates competition for september's parliamentary elections at the same time putin has clamped down on independent media. Outlets like radio free europe radio liberty. They are now required to label their content as from a foreign agent or face stiff fines. Some opposition leaders fear putin interpreted the summit as a signal that the west will let him finish off the opposition with no consequences. Leonid volkov says one thing could deter putin from further abuses freezing his assets abroad putting this kind of trying to increase his exchange fund to get like more hostages also american citizens and russian political prisoners to kiss that's in billions of dollars at he's stashed abroad of his told from russian taxpayers. They have also to be taken hostage. This could create strong leverage against him. And this could really deter him the for now. that's not on the horizon instead. Russian media outlets hailed putin's return to prominence on the world stage. They noted other world leaders like the. Uk's boris johnson now want to schedule their own meetings with the russian leader reporting for world. I'm genuine schmidt in geneva switzerland at like to add one quick thought before i go. Thank you coming up next on the world and everything in thoughts from the new president of the southern baptist convention about fifteen thousand southern. Baptists gathered in nashville last week to cast their votes. For the next president of the sbc among the contenders southern baptist theological seminary president albert more molars member of world's board also randy adams state convention leader who ran on reformist ideas and georgia pastor mike stone who many expected to become the sbc's next president but the surprise winner was a little known pastor from alabama named ed linton world reporter. Syfy lee spoke with litton shortly after the election. Although her questions were off mic so here now are snippets of that interview with litton at a point that he called an important moment in the conventions history. This is a seminal moment. We we deciding as a people if we're gonna stay on target are we're going to be distracted politics. Are we going to get get serious about the gospel and the difference that it makes the transformational difference. That makes them people's lives. Lytton says he believes baptists are opting for the latter returning to the gospel as he put it and he painted a word picture of the southern baptist convention drawing on an indelible image from the last world war when the united states launched a world war. Two we sent navy destroyers to protect these massive of armada's ships that were taking supplies to great britain. And i see those ships as analogy of southern baptist. We're not a denomination. Where a collection if you will convention churches so every every one of those shifts is a different church and their payload is the gospel and we're getting the gospel to the nation's that's the focus as we're getting the gospel a staint keeping our focus not turning inward not being self protective but actually taking the risks. That are missionaries. Take every single day to share the love of jesus christ with others and there's a lot of directions if people want to go and ships one of your off and by the way every captain of that ship and go where you want. But if we're gonna get this thing done we're going to have to stay in line with each other. Not only that. If you'll remember that analogy is really good. Because there was an enemy. Nazi u boats were coming after these shifts them right left and when one pill off they would they would nail it and lives were lost. It was it was. It was real. We're in a real spiritual battle and we need to stay together. Move in the right direction and sticking with the german new boat metaphor. He said one of the deadliest torpedoes in. The enemy's arsenal can be summed up in one word pride prejudice. Serious problems with us. The bible tells us that our job is to humble. Ourselves is all of us to humble ourselves before the lord realized that we are desperate centers in need of a savior and even redeemed. We are desperately in need of god's daily grace and the power of the holy spirit so we all need that and when we turn on each other Sometimes it's because of envy sometimes because of pride and so all those sends come into our personal relationships. There's a reason why jesus left his disciples. He said i'm sending another comforter of the same kind of the holy spirit because you guys going to work this out the same struggles we have in southern baptist convention the early twelve or eleven disciples and they add up with is the twelve. Had guess what they were able. And with god's help to get enough together to work through the minor things to keep focused on the major thing. We wouldn't have the gospel today if they failed but they weren't gonna fail because the lord was with them so so yes we just it when we demonize each other when we are attacked We we it. Builds wounds bills trust bills at fragments us as a people. And we've got to see satan schemes on this pastor. Lytton said he recognizes. That many southern baptists are concerned that the convention is drifting in the wrong direction. And he said that that is a legitimate concern but he added the sbc might be drifting in a different direction than many people think. I think a lot of people. In the southern baptist convention are concerned we by nature as southern baptist. I think are are people who are always concerned about drifting you hear that terminology concept in you know in order to drift you should pull yours and let the current of the culture take you. We forget that. I think i think we're worried about drifting and i think in some ways we should be but i don't think we're drifting into liberalism. I think we're drifting into fundamentalism. And and that. That's where i think out of fear. People want to tighten things down and make sure that everybody's lined up on all the tertiary issues and our folks has got to be the gospel one of the big concerns for southern baptist is we have declining baptisms declining cooperative program. Giving i'm gonna tell you why i believe that's happening. I believe fear has driven us to become a to live in a bubble our churches. So that we don't trust people who don't look like us fake like us or vote like us and so what's happening is we're being isolated from the world when jesus said no no. You're to be in this world not of this world you need to love the world you need to love the people rather in the world and you are to engage them with god's love which means we care when they are treated unjustly we care when they are harting. We care when they're struggling. And so i think our people are not winning people to christ because church has become our cultural bubble where we protect ourselves and look at the look out the windows. How bad things are god. Got put every one of us in a city for the purpose of of being his representatives in that place loving people in that place helping people linton said that is the path forward for the southern baptist convention and the body of christ lifting the churches collective gays and understanding who the enemy is and who the enemy is not each other unity. He says is found in a renewed focus on the great commission that was newly elected. Sbc president clinton to read more of his conversation with world senior reporter. Sophie lee visit. It's the world and everything. Today is tuesday. June twenty second. Thanks so much for joining us today for the world and everything in it. Good morning. i'm mary writer. And i'm nick. Eicher coming next spiritual encouragement from nature. World correspondent jenny rough heads to the great outdoors with people who take time to look closely at the world. God has made three hundred forty five point. Four miles left to go. Those fractions are important. If you're hiking the distance sounds like a long way on foot but for the strawbridge is it's not that much. The family of six has already hiked thousands and thousands of miles together. If you've been following this podcast for a while you may remember meeting the strawbridge family last summer on the divide trail in pie town new mexico. Vince and monica are the parents. Therefore kids aiden. June henry and georgie right now ranging in age from nineteen to fourteen we are doing triple crown as a family because i think our number one thing is that we wanted to be together. That's aden the oldest daughter triple crown refers to america's main cross country trails. The family has committed to hiking all three. They completed the pacific crest trail out west in twenty eighteen the continental divide trail last year. And now they are on the appalachian trail a footpath along the eastern united states. They started march first at springer mountain north georgia by early june. They are in new hampshire after a town stop for showers and laundry. They cram their packs and tracking polls into shuttles to be driven back to the place. They left off crawford notch on the ride to the trail. Head they recap. This year's trip hiking has not only brought them closer as a family. It's allowed them. Time to enjoy sunrises trees rivers and starry nights. here's monica. There is some kind of wisdom that god reveals through nature. And and you know it's not. It is his creativity in the power of his creativity and the diversity of his creativity. There are just like principles they think you get from being outside so much. Heavy mist can serve as a reminder to trust god when life seems unclear. the missed will lift and the sun will shine again. A fresh blanket of snow fall can bring to mind the purity that god requires of his people and the gift of it. He has freely given through. christ. Monica is drawn to the wildflowers. Aiden likes nature's patterns. Georgie is all about natural light as the official photographer instead of simply reading about the lillies in the psalms or the briars and isaiah hiking allows the family to experience. The natural world firsthand. Here's aiden you understand it and you hear it and you can see like the decay and the new life. That's coming out of the way as he hikes up a steep incline in the white mountains. Vince police out another reason. Nature provides a rich spiritual experience. No distractions walking has something to do with it with opening your you know helping you think more clearly more slowly carefully more than anything sense of dependency but you have as it relates to things that are outside of your control. They are genuinely always outside of our control. It's harder not to acknowledge them here. Vincent families approach is a little crazy and shouldn't dissuade others. There's a lot of different ways to do it day. Hikes half day hikes weekend hikes a gap year or tackle along trail over many years. One st at a time in west virginia. The appalachian trail is only four miles. Long the strawberries decision to spend months and months on trail. Not once but three times was a hard one. It was vince vinci's idea so he was game but monica was not for it at all. No totally on opposite sides. Yeah i mean we just had different visions completely. What we thought our family should be doing vince. His uncle had a suggestion on. Why don't you the two of you get some couples that you trust around you and just say we're we're kind of enough here and we can't make a decision on this. Would you help us and persuasive. Still lots of logistics to sort out meals resupply packages and handle an additional education. The school part of it is still the most I get the most fearful about that. I really think honestly though in my heart. I think everything's they're fine. They're going to be great turns out homeschooling on the trail can happen. It just looks different. Here's monica and georgie. Listen to jaber crow in the smokies in the rain and it was perfect. Because it's like a low low tone book and he like goes into all his like deep thoughts. Henry has decided to continue his unique approach to education in future years. He's come up with his own school curriculum like knowing about like The economical kind of stuff works and how like stocks and all that stuff works. I really like history and all three trails have had scary moments last year. A blizzard this year. The day they lost george being stopped put on my rain jacket because the books were killing me and I thought we were going to the top of the mountain to the shelter up there. So i kept trying kept hiking. Didn't actually ever think that. I was lost until i got to the top and it was like getting really dark. Thankfully everyone was reunited. June the second oldest says the nice thing about hiking. This year is that they are closer to their home in florida. Friends and family can meet up for surprise. Visits friends and family have actually come out to see us then on the other. Two grandpa will come out. He'll drive up from florida. He can't do too much because he's had a hip and knee replacement a truth about hiking and life. One small step might not seem like much but it's the small steps over and over that lead to the accomplishment. Yesterday the strawbridge bridges took their final step on their triple crown journey at ten twenty two. Am they reached the northern terminus at mount katahdin in maine is is moral support reporting for world. I'm jenny rough on the appalachian trail mcgregor. Today is tuesday. June twenty second. Good morning this is the world and everything in it from listener supported world radio. I'm nick eicher and i mary record. Some things in life are too serious to take lightly like learning to swim. Here's commentator whitney williams. Miss margaret doesn't take any lip. She's serious about teaching kids to swim tears firm and two year old. Don't face her dry it up. She says as she pulls tiny girls into the water screaming fits on the side of the pool. You zip it she tells the kids sternly with pointed finger vomit. There's a hose over there at the side of my yard. Just hose them off mom and then get them back over here to the pool. Thanks the water based in the water after a few minutes of lesson she allows the kids to fall beneath the water right beside the wall. Reach rejete she yells urging them to take hold of the wall and pull themselves out. She praises them when they do and rescues and warns them. when they don't some parents may think miss margaret's methods a bit too harsh but after one of my sons nearly drowned last summer. I decided we were done playing around when it came to swimming lessons. The situation still haunts me honestly. I feel ashamed to even talk about it. My son jake was three at the time as was his twin brother luc. The twins and i along with my oldest son colt. We're at a neighborhood pool with church friends. It was bustling with activity. My three kids to take off their life jackets to eat lunch more comfortably. I reluctantly agreed and laid out a tau behind me for them to sit on. I handed out three lunches and three drinks carefully packed. And then i went back to chatting with friends a few minutes later. I heard jake crying. I looked up and he was standing at the side of the pool. Dripping wet terrified is no life jacket. His hair was wet so i knew he had gone under. Oh so he saved himself. You might think that's great. But no no. He did not. He had walked past down the stairs into the pool and sunk silently helpless with his mom. His god given protector oblivious. Just seven feet away. I almost lost my child that day. Were it not for a stranger standing by the stairs. Who rescued him. Were it not for the grace of god. I signed my boys up for swimming lessons with miss margaret. The very next day miss margaret knows. She scares a lot of the children in her class but she doesn't let that dissuade her. Her mission is not to show kids a good time or to teach them how to blow bubbles under the water. Her only goal is to protect them from drowning. Her discipline comes from love. Swim lessons at miss margaret's remind me a lot of our relationship with god how often we flounder in the pool of life thinking his rules in rebukes harsh and unfair fighting his life saving instructions. The very instructions not to from drowning way out of the water. I'm whitney williams. Ready god off tomorrow. Trade with europe the united states and its western allies have called a truce ended decades old trade war. Talk about the reasons. Why on washington wednesday that and more tomorrow. I'm nick and i'm mary. Record the world and everything in it comes to you from world radio. World's mission is biblically objective. Journalism that informs educates and inspires. The bible says since we have been justified by faith we have peace with god through our lord. Jesus christ go now increase in peace.

It'll be on television in an hour and twenty minutes and back here on the go in twenty four hours it. It is nine minutes after four now. That's twenty one to the our most parts of labrador time for traffic check. Here's maggie gillis with that well. If you want to know about twitter traffic it's about rob ford admitted meaning to smoking crack bumper to bumper to bumper bumper to bumper but as far as real traffic goes a little bit of a slowdown on portugal cove overrode. There's a backhoe tearing up the southbound lane near hoiles. Ask azzoni down to one lane. There northbound slow as well <hes> other than that. <hes> looks pretty good about fifty minutes ago. There was a report of an accident at the bell island very lineup <hes> but other than that. It's been pretty quiet this afternoon. If you're out and about and you see something i should pass along slowing people down. I'll let me know on twitter or give a call to five seven six five two two five. She's maggie gillis. I'm ted blades in jim. Fiddler is here to talk about. His new cd called r._p._m. This is the first gut it's called mr mann and tell you you'd better buckle up. Things could get loud. Um hum in a <music> have a plan the mirrors such a very inside <music> soon <music> inch <music> upside down the show <music> <music> <music> <music> <music> <music> <music> <music> uh-huh gene and thus begins. Jim fiddler's new album called r._p._m. The official launch is november seventh at the masonic temple downtown but right now the multi talented multi instrumentalist singing songwriting. Mr fiddler is sitting on the far side of the on the go table good afternoon sir hello now the first time i heard mr mann that opening track i was sitting at my desk in the newsroom upstairs but from the opening putting power cord i gotta tell you i can almost feel myself being transported back to my teenage bedroom to go before children before responsibilities lying on the floor between the speakers nothing else to do but let the music flow through. That's what it's all about your best song. There is really all about that high that idea that a lot of people seem to have that dream. Everybody sort of wants to be a star somewhere. You know you're a teenager new. See the you see the guy on the t._v. or whatever he's up there on the stage age and he's got a limb lights on them and all the girls were screaming and he's <hes> you know people say i won't do that. How much of what we heard in that song is you all of it and actually louis every screeching guitar solo. Is you yeah even even you know pushing the buttons and turning the knobs and the engineering and all that stuff to to you what do you do that. Why do you work that way. Lots of people like to get abandoned and jam with them. You spend a lot of time in your basement by yourself. I don't mean that in a bad way but i'm just wondering why that's the way you work. Have a studio is an it's not in the basement but to me. It's it's composition thing. It's like <hes>. I've always thought of myself not not just because i kind of liked to think about myself this way but because i don't don't know any other way to describe it as a sound painter so if i'm painting getting if i've got my brushes out and i'm working on canvas and you know i'm doing my sketches and i'm doing whatever <hes> it just seems strange to me to to just bring somebody in the mega spots red up here spot to green down there. I've spent a whole lifetime playing with other musicians and love playing with other musicians but in the process when you're by yourself alphand you're in your studio and it's in the middle of the night and you're getting things done. Just doesn't seem to be any reason the next day when you play it back to say okay. Let me delete that and get somebody else in and spend all the time that it would take to kind of communicate to somebody else <hes> how to try to imitate you when you've already done it and what your idea is yeah yeah and i mean if i were playing a working band then that process would be happening but see. I don't have <hes> i. I'm not a member of a band so i. I don't have those those those people. You are. The bat who i am are those people i would ban the so. How long has it been. Since you laid down the first track the first i instrument on one track up for rpm from beginning to end. It was eight months literally to the day i i the last when i when i tied the last ribbon on it the date on and the final mix was exactly eight months to the day from the first day when i lay down the first track eight bucks at every day day and night literally day and night yeah let me and tell you that and you set out to make an album yacht a collection of singles but an album in the old fashioned sense in the sense of the wall dark side of the moon loon crime of the century that kind of thing and it came from a friend of mine rod him and i were listening to i i kind of came up with this term <hes> <hes> n._f._l. Are full length recording and not just the quote unquote concept album. You know it doesn't have to be psychedelic about you know somebody <hes> wearing multicolored clothing floating through spacer on some kind of drug or something. You know it can be about anything. Scientists call them full length recordings just something that is composed and arranged and and done in such a way that it's like a movie and the songs belonged together and they were written together and record together and this n._f._l. Are tells the story of young mickey finn <hes> tell me about mickey well mickey when i started doing this in the the first place i was setting out to take the mickey out of the whole idea of stardom and people worshipping kings and queens and presidents and movie stars and singers. There's and things like that but then i realized that i was dealing with something that was really more a part of me really than anything more than i guess you know. <hes> reggae is a different thing for me. That's that's kind of more. I i would say above intellectual spiritual <hes> social whatever celtic is is kind of part of my cultural growing up in newfoundland and all that stuff but bigger than that even is the big bunch of music that didn't really we haven't name the stuff that we heard on the radio <hes> when i was growing up it was just the radio back then that we never had the extra smooth lefthanded <hes> black hat wearing jazz channel and the whatever whatever we just all turned on the radio and we all heard on the same station led zeppelin and dolly parton and then kenny rogers and supertramp and whatever often back to back often back to back and we had our favorites but you know mom and dad knew my songs. Maybe like someone. I'm an didn't like some of them. I knew mom and dad san's and like some of them didn't like some of them. We hadn't all been sort of broken up in segregated at that point so at that point. It was just music. We didn't really so much think of things in terms of genres and breaking things up like that so really when i did for this record was just kind of just go back to that that spirit of that time so i mean this really for me was the funnest album i've ever made in my life because it really in a in a real true. Sense wasn't even me you know. I didn't really feel like jim fiddler making jim fiddler album for me. It was just i was just doing this thing and even all the lyrics on the album morale what they call <hes> <hes> stream of consciousness i i didn't. I never wrote any of the lyrics on this record. I literally laid down bed tracks. Put on the headphones got in front of the mike and just sang and then after listen back and said yeah i'll keep that and that happened over and over and over again i i had to go back. I can write one verse to complete one of the songs <hes> but the whole rest of the album was all literally before i hit record. I didn't know what the name of the song was. I didn't know what it was about. What i had no idea this album here really is i think the broadest appeal type thing that i've ever done and it's it's it's not for or any kind of <hes> reason other than just a natural progression like i said with me and my friend listening to thick as a brick and the wall and things like that and i was pointing out to my friend you know what they're doing. They're you know as a composer arranger musician myself. I said i can see the lego box that they're snapping together to you. No i did lyrically in tainting limited limited you know and i was saying and then they're going to continue to you know whatever ever i said. These are all like little lego box. This is easy peasy stuff. He's my my friend ronson really and the very next day i recorded mr mann and the day after that i recorded the second track on the record and at that point i said hey this is fun. Why don't i just make an album here. We are we are yeah. I kind of <hes> gained some some inspiration from of all people the ruttles <hes> because they did something that i saw as being so clever. It's not quite the idea of parody it's creating new music in the spirit of something and nailing it so when they're saying when the ruttles are singing hand yeah yeah hold <hes> hand yeah. The beatles never did a song called. Hold my hand yeah yeah but what i'm sitting but you know what i'm saying to myself man i i think i like this song better than i wanna. Hold your hand or she loves you. You know they they nailed it so really what i what i did was just kind of put myself into that frame of mind into that spirit as though i were back in seventy eight seventy nine again as i said when i was i actually making music in those days and buying these records as they were coming out. You know i'm not making it to a a twenty thirteen kind of kitschy retro corny seventies thing i'm may this this album is as though i just went back to seventy eight seventy nine and just made a record base pretty much on on what music music i had experienced up to that point with some vision for the future because the main thing i remember a big picture thing going on that that as of ronald reagan in the eighties just seem to seem to fade away somewhere so what happens thursday night thursday night <hes> we get together and we have <hes> at the spirit of newfoundland used to masonic temple boy for we're still masonic still kind of call it that i think you know where it is but yes down there downtown on cathedral you gotta come down if not for the music if not to help us <hes> give birth to this new baby. You just got to check out that night. You gotta you gotta come up to me and check out my a handshake. I got a special handshake for the for the launch. At the masonic temple k joy buzzers out doors open at seven thirty. I think is that right. Lillian says yes so that's really and what does it cost. It's thirty dollars which includes a c._d. So so for the sake of gordon clinton mike hanrahan derrick harrington myself and being out in a place where no one's gonna start punching coaching. You're giving you a hard time. It's going to be really nice atmosphere. I'd pay that for sure all right. Let's say give them a chance to hear one of the other songs here thursday night okay something new from r._p._m. Willoughby probably a son called not the thing at the end of the line jim. Thanks for coming by thank you that is jim fiddler an from his brand new c._d. R._p._m. Here's jim with not the thing at the end of the line they to go in. Uh in the <music> uh sir. Let's get a okay in the the yeah uh-huh <music> aw aw that is jim fiddler on the go and not the thing at the end of the line. It's from his new album r._p._m. Which is being launched thursday evening. At the spirit of newfoundland productions the former masonic temple in downtown saint john's. You ought to reserve a ticket which it comes with a cd. S10 EP100: Rage, Rage of the Democrats

"If you've noticed. I haven't taken a ton of phone calls. If y'all could see my office my office i i mostly broadcast out of my bunker. I rarely go into the actual office these days. There's been this global pandemic you might have heard of and i've got extension cords and cables and headphones and i might have poured a yeti tumbler of the foam screening computer. And it's fixed you. Can you can call okay. We must move to to the news of the day the democrats they are mad. The democrats are mad. They're they're mad mad. They're upset their angsty alexandria. Ocasio cortez she just. She's she's really really really frustrated. They all are. Here's some of it. I believe i believe representative. Jones has point and we have had very difficult experiences with making. I believe the opposite mistake and especially if senate democrats are not going to pass reforms on. Hr one we cannot rely solely on on a wish of winning elections Particularly in the senate. When voting rights are under attack in georgia arizona and texas across the country. And if we're not going to pass. H r one with preemptive clauses that karol some of that voter suppression attacks back. Yeah i believe that we should protect our supreme court and that that should absolutely be a consideration by issuing protect our supreme court it and she wants to rush through. Hr one because she wants to guarantee democrats are elected. They are really now. Let me explain what's going on here. Democrats have for thirty or for really going back to nineteen seventy-two richard nixon's election democrats. Have for some time. They believed that the republican party was going to be wiped out and even now the democrats are convinced. The republican party is going to be white out This has become dogma. among democrats and their friends in the media who have per they've become believed embraced acknowledged held onto an idea that the rise of the democratic party is inevitable. Because you know california was the future look at california look at the republican california the republicans nationwide or going the same way. Therefore the democratic party is on the rise dogma. Set principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true and it has been and thus must be incontrovertibly true that the republican party is on the decline and the democratic party is on the rise and they feel so close so close to absolute our and believes the republicans are the ones who are doing everything cheating stealing. Hang onto power. Remember stacey abrams would be governor except it was the republican suppression. See this democrat cunanan. Democrats have their own conspiracy. Theories and their conspiracy theory. Is that the democratic party is inevitable and it is the republican party that changes the rules to steal elections to hold onto power. It is a republicans in two thousand twenty believe. The election is stolen. Which is what the democrats believed in two thousand and two thousand four and two thousand sixteen. It was only a matter of time before republicans themselves that hey if they can do it we can do it. Every election democrat does not win is an election. Republicans suppressed voted stole. Well now guess what. The republicans are doing the same thing only now. Is the media upset about only now. Is the me like. Oh you can't de-legitimize elections the media and the democrats have been doing it since two thousand and really even before that. So they're really mad. They feel like they should be on the cusp of absolute power and they can't even get. Hr one past. They control the house. They control the senate if they can't get. Hr one past they're frustrated. Now they've got steven briar the oldest member of the supreme court of the left who they desperately want to retire and they've launched a campaign to get him to retire. They're running ads in washington. Dc the supreme court is wrapping up. Its term it'll probably it'll be done by the end of next week. They're trying to pressure going gonna retire. They don't want her to the ruth bader ginsburg discern situation. They don't know that he will and he's a lifetime appointment he doesn't have to retire in one thing. A lot of people understand about bryer. Is that if you try to publicly pressure him to leave. He may double down in stay. Bryer is a liberal. But he's a pragmatic liberal and he doesn't wanna make the court scene political. You've got infrastructure. It looks like republicans are going to cut a deal with the democrats and do a multi billion dollar if not trillion dollar infrastructure package that then we'll preclude the democrats from doing the green deal component of the infrastructure deal. They won't have the votes. Joe manchin we'll go with the basically put everything. Joe man wasn't a package. That mitch mcconnell controls say they'll pass it forced the democrats in and then they let everything else go. They can't get a january six michigan politically unilaterally. Do it today. We'll find out today. But they can't get one through congress and now they've been pushing critical race theory. At the local level conservatives have caught on their pushing back aggressively across states school boards in even a democrat leading areas of the country are now walking back. State never mind. We're not gonna do this. And so the the democrats conspiracy. Theories side must be organized. It must be organization at the coke. Brothers the left doesn't understand how the right operates. I don't know that the right always understands how the left operates but these jane mayer who writes for the new yorker. A adherent of the theory that it's always the coke brothers. The left believes the coke. Brothers are responsible for everything. And if you've ever point out. The george soros stuff anti semite critical race theory in conservative opposition. It does not have to do with think tanks in washington. Dc what happen is conservatives got wind of through talk radio the internet and fox news and they themselves at the local level begin to agitate about it school board saw what happened in carroll independent school district in texas where all of the proponents of critical race theory just lost their election and l. school boards across the country of freaked out and so they're scrambling and walking back critical race theory there. Welcome at all back and now conservative organizations washington of called audits that. Hey we can organize this making even more powerful and maybe make some money off of it. But it's not organized by the takes in washington. It's been organized by the grassroots. The local level across the united states. That's the way it always happens. The tea party happened as an organic movement after rick's until he made his claims on cnbc atp party sprung up around the country and then the washington groups caught on and started helping organize asap the heritage foundation and the like all got involved but it was grassroots building. Originally and the left looks exhausted. Hawes organized sinister cole. Brothers but over. No it's really not it's really a grassroots movement and it's been really damn effective you've got a democratic trending counties. Cobb county georgia. That are running as quickly as possible. Away from chris christie the carolina school district in texas state legislatures around the country. All now running on grace theory. So in georgia brian. The governor's being challenged by clown show named vernon jones who has come out. Instead of he's elected critical race theory will have no place in the schools. Someone sent me is is statement and said is this true thinking. I said yeah brian. Kim's already done this. In the attorney general the state already. Crackdown critical race. Theory in the board of education did army done. You can't take credit for it. You'll try so the democrats. They can't get infrastructure they can't get. Hr one. They can't get the generous commission. They can't advance critical race theory. There have a really hard time getting steven briar to step aside and to adding level of anger and frustration to all of it. Joe biden hasn't weighed in joe biden. Hasn't done on see for bro. You know donald trump was able to convince anthony kennedy to step aside. Allegedly this is what the left believes that this is what makes it so much more angry for them. They generally truly believe that. Donald trump cut a deal with anthony kennedy to put brett cavanaugh on the supreme court. They really believe that. The president of the united states deal with us reward justice to retire people's report people anthony. They deny it but the left believes it so it must be so so they want joe biden to cut a deal with steven. Briar and biden has done anything yet. Bras joe biden has it weighed in on infrastructure and behind the scenes. Joe biden is laughing about. Hr one says it was never going to pass the senate and he wants nothing to do with the joe biden doesn't wanna put his name on. Hr one or campaign on hr one because and this is the the for the people. Act the democrats. Comprehensive voting reform package. He knows he can't pass the senate. It's not just joe mansion on top of all of that the republicans lost the senate because forge twenty seven thousand. Two hundred five of them decided it was going to be stolen away so they didn't show up and vote in the runoff and the result is raphael warnock. John collected. She got a fifty fifty senate. The democrats have it barely but they can't control it because joe mentioned christian cinema like to stretch their legs and reach across the island. Be a little bit bipartisan. So they can't get anything done. The biggest thing they've done is yesterday. The senate voted unanimously to make juneteenth the federal holiday. Good they should. it was appropriate. They if they need to get rid of one. Get rid of labor day. We don't need to celebrate unions. Anyway we memorial day we got juneteenth. We should have a federal holiday Where we get a day off in every month anyway now. The the senate is at a standstill. And by the way gridlocks. Not bad. Democrats think gridlock is bad because democrats want washington to do stuff conservatives should never want washington do stuff. Gridlock is a feature not a bug of the system. The founders wanted to be exceedingly hard the filibuster country the democrats would have you believe goes back to the early early eighteen hundred. The very first filibuster was about who would get the contract to preach the senate journal no surprise. It was not about race and racism. The democrats do a very good job of repack american history making everything about race because it is the democrats not the republicans obsessed with race but it was actually the very first filibuster was about printing the senate journal and who should get the contract. They can't get anything done. This is a good helpful. Time to point out the states actually matter. Democrats in some states can get things done and they should do that. But both sides have become fixated on washington. Dc in washington dc has a hard time getting anything done and right now. The democrats have a fierce urgency of now because they know in november twenty twenty two. The odds are the republicans. Take back the house and there's actually a chance there's a good chance they could take the senate a better chance in two thousand twenty four. Almost likely they'll take the senate back in twenty twenty four but there's a good chance in two thousand twenty two. If a few things go right for the gop the democrats are actually hoping donald trump screw stuff up for the gop. Twenty twenty two but the house looks almost issue. The republicans only need five seats to take back the house representatives. They'll get that through redistricting alone and they probably don't even redistricting for that because the party. The white house tends to lose seats in the house the way it typically works. I think early three occasions where it wasn't so all three were in wartime. We're not in wartime right now. Maybe we'll be next year. Who knows how the biden putin meeting is gone but right now they're frustrated and i understand their frustration but also you know what the republicans had that frustration to democrats just the republicans should always be blocked and they should always get stuff done. And they've got the media on their side tried to give them legitimacy trying to make it v. The republicans are always the obstructors. Would actually democrats themselves obstruct just the reality of the situation and they should know better. There are a lot of democrats who seem shocked. That republicans would vote to make june team the federal holiday. Why would republicans not lot to celebrate the day. The republicans freed slaves from the democrats. I have no idea. I mean i think we should memorialize this day in history. It was the republicans who freed the slaves from a bunch of democrats. Now i know as well as evidenced today actually not true not true george wallace stay a democrat the whole time all right. Y'all i i listen. I've offended some people. And i have to apologize. I have twice now. Used the phrase to describe the media. I have referred to them as Wallace leg humping joe biden and i apologize. But you gotta listen to this. Cnn's coverage of joe biden going into meet vladimir putin who he called the killer significant handshake clarisa from these two leaders. The russian president the us president The opening statement from the swiss president translated into russian and then english. Welcome to the city of peace he said and wishing fruitful conversations not just for your countries but for the entire world and. I think that's part of what's important to remember here when we're looking at the summit when we're looking at the historical significance potentially this isn't just about the us and russia sitting down for a conversation. This is about democracies challenged by authoritarian regimes. Many countries across the world will be looking to see what happens today whether anything can be taken out of it and turned into something more productive. These moments are about moments. And i'll tell you what in the interaction. The handshake biden likud. In in the eye with a smile. I looked away again. You don't wanna read too much or too little but again these are about public posturing it's about how you project strength and that was a notable moment to me as you watch. The hill extends their hands. And you didn't. We were waiting to see if there would be that handshake and and there was that handshake and it was a significant handshake. And it's a good way to start this beating. And let's see what happens with the next four or five or six hours and as the president of the swiss federation said to promote dialogue and mutual understanding. That's the intention then. He said goodbye because his job is done. He's done the ceremony now. The hard work is happening behind. I i can't listen anymore. This oh my gosh. She goes on for a little while. Longer i gotta tell you i. I should fire my producer. I should i know i tend to firing every other day or so but i. I am very very very disappointed that my producer did not surprised us delight us all by by putting underneath that some light nineteen seventies porn soundtrack and heavy breathing. I'm just. I'm i'm disappointed. I am. I mean given his sense of humor natural. You need to do it. I just i mean this is jill biden rates. End out. i. Joe biden smiled and putin he looked away. Does is the coverage. No listen. I know that you sometimes after fill time. I myself occasionally have to fill time when you know for example like the president's coming up for a press conference at all we're we're two minutes delay and it was supposed to start and it's not an hearing up late he stopped. He's he's talked his. I know you do that but really this. It's it's the moment. It's a moment about the moments joe biden which he reaches handle first putin touched smile champ on people. It's ridiculous it is ridiculous coverage they should be ashamed of the coverage. They should be embarrassed. I'm embarrassed forum. Glad to be with me. And i am glad to be with you. The phone number to the eric your show to me if you would like to be. A part of the program is eight seven seven. Nine seven. eric e. r. i c. k. That is eight. Seven seven nine. Seven three seven four to five. By the way. Gary kasparov the the the chess champion. Turn human rights activists he himself is rather unhappy with joe biden's performance thus far. No this is not a win win situation and it's that this game was already lost now. It's putin one united states we lost. The question is how much damage you could be could be controlled because was exception of the baltic states and eastern europe while the threat which represents europe kicks caving in to putin without american leadership. Biden was to stop that even campaign on me. She called putin killer correctly. But looking tougher geneva using words does matter action matters and so far biting is failing that test biden is failing the test. Of course jerry. Gaspara memory hold by the media now because he's attacking joe biden instead of donald trump. There you have it all right. Speaking of donald trump the former president of the united states has accepted an invitation from greg abbott. The governor of texas to go to the border the southern border with the mexican border Yes yes my friends. The donald trump is going to go to the southern border and turret with greg abbott. Now this actually Kills a couple of birds with a single number one allen west The after congressman. Turn gifty chairman of the republican party in texas has decided to challenge greg or at least now. He says he's thinking about it so Allen west who the there is enough baggage on that mandate to fill up The teepee Where the braves play. And he left congress we into work in the media for awhile decided to become. The chairman of the republican party in texas actually had a fairly bad showing as the republican party chairman in texas and has now decided to quit being the chairman so that he can run governor and always be gripped infringe always be griffin i. I'm not impressed with the man. Nor have i ever been and republicans in texas. The based are actually kind of hacked off. Now there's no nana love lot of love lost between greg abbott and the base in texas right now The republican base in texas does not particularly care for greg abbott. But they're pretty hacked off The allen west is suddenly going to quit being the chairman of the party and go run for governor when they putting there to help build the party up and all he did was talk about secession and then bolted show. There's a lot of aggravation now by donald trump taking greg abbott offer. It highlights greg abbott getting face time with donald trump by the border. I assure you allen list. West will not be touring with them. So this helps. Greg abbott's reelection In the primary it helps restore some trust between him and the trump base it allows donald trump to highlight the fact that when he was president. This mess was not happening. You did not have the this flood and cavalcade across the border. You simply did not have it and even reporters out. There are willing to go on record and admit that is happening in large part because of washington dc. Mike pompeo was on with me yesterday. Mike pompeo if you want to hear that interview you can text The word eric rico k. Two three three seven seven seven. You can hear my interview with mike pompeo from yesterday but this was him talking about the border situation the other day the conditions down there are no different today than they were in january of this year. And we've had multiples in multiples of people coming across the border. It's not the conditions down there that have caused the current crisis at the border. It is the policies of the biden administration. We we knew how to make it work. I negotiated remained in mexico. We convinced the mexicans and the central american countries. This was in their best interest as well. Don't take my word for this week. The mexican leadership and the guatemalan leadership said this problem is a direct result of team biden's foreign policy and its immigration policy. Now this the the conditions are pretty static down there. We should do the things we can to make them better. But the first responsibility to keep us southern border secure. We had it done chris. We got there. We just simple math. One hundred eighty thousand in may is the highest in twenty years. This is a result of a bad border policy. It's created a crisis caused enormous devastation. To the human beings that are being traffic across the border. This is not only bad for them. It's really bad for the united states and it's not a result of what's happening in central america as a result of what's happening in washington dc. That was mike pompeo and he's not wrong. We've even got We've got reporters who are going down to the border interviewing refugees l. who we wouldn't have come when donald trump was here the coming now so trump gets to highlight exactly how the bite administration has failed. Trump gets to help greg. Abbott trump gets to remind people when he was president. This wasn't a problem. Trump gets to remind people about his border wall and he gets to highlight the fact that comma harrison. Nowhere to be seen. You know the the thinking already among people on the left and the right is that harrison is going to be the democratic nominee and twenty twenty four. I don't know that she is but the current thinking the truth of the matter. Asserted is that kamla harris will be the democratic nominee. Not joe biden and the result. Is they are. They've been trying to game out the scenarios by which due after harrison the border is the issue calmly. Harris cannot help herself except to screw up the border the result is that Donald trump has a campaign issue ready to go against her. Should he run in Twenty twenty four but so does rhonda scientists in every other republican. The border right now is a big issue. Not just for your average white. Americans see. This is the thing. Democrats have so internalized race That they think only white people care about this issue but actually there are a vast array of hispanic voters who came here illegally. Who are livid about what happened to the border also. They're livid because of the conditions at the border that Some of their family members are now trapped in there really really upset about it this polls terribly across the board. The result of course is that the democrats have no answer except anything trump was bad. It turns out that what donald trump did was it that bad and now it turns out that in fact they may have to reverse it embrace of donald trump's policies at which point donald trump can point out that they're now embracing his policies rejecting their own policies. All of this is a perfect storm to get donald trump elected twenty twenty four or get ron to santa's or a mike pompeo were nikki. Haley or tom. Cotton or any of the other. Republicans elected by pointing out that the prior policies worked at the current policies dole on top of everything else going on and frankly comma. Harris is a terrible candidate which also helps the gop now to the phones we go eight seven seven nine seven eric. Eight seven seven nine. Seven three seven. Four to five jerry. You're going to be up next. Welcome jerry well. let's see here. I have no idea. Jerry just dropped so okay well never mind we will we will. We will try again Okay we'll we'll we'll see i may have to. I screwed up the phone system folks. Okay we will move on now because we have while all of this is happening. We also have the israel situation firing up the israelis well. They're they're not happy with the palestinians the palestinians how they knew this is okay. I'm sorry i have to acknowledge that it's bad but it's also. This is kind of somewhat ingenious. The the palestinians have arson balloons or fire balloons. Incendiary balloons is essentially. The palestinians are launching balloons that carry fires across israel and start burning down. Yes they actually do and it is. It's striking that they come up with this idea. They're not firing rockets because most of the rockets were collapsing into their own territory. And now all of a sudden you've got. The israelis are launching more offensives into the goth area. Now remember we had an upheaval there. We we had a change in leadership in israel and the with this change in leadership in israel. Everyone thought up. We're going to be able to to get this. We're going to be able to get peace in the middle east now but it turns out that the new israeli leadership is hard core against dealing with a moss as the previous leadership was and now the american media somewhat settled very much like they're befuddled over what happened at the southern baptist convention which will get into now. Let's see jerry. Can i get you here bert. Yep i can hear you how are you. Hey i'm doing well thanks hurt. We'll quickly Had a couple of comments on china and my big winner from the g seven was china. And if i'm china. I think i invade taiwan this weekend because after that lack of leadership there think they know they get the exact same response the west had when they did. They did hong kong. Nobody even flinched. And so that's my big winner. And i wanted to comment on pouching. He keeps doubling down. Saying it's highly unfloppable that china would release a A disease that would kill. Its own people and i remember reading an amnesty international article a couple of years ago that said every year china killed more of its own people in the rest of the entire world combined. And look they can to. They can't feed them all and three. Some of them are religious and we know force In a communist there is no religion. The religion is the state itself. But i do think was the big winner. They'll look back sam. Yeah that's the leadership out there. We got this thing in the bag. Your eye jury. Listen i. I appreciate the phone call. And you're you're absolutely right. The the chinese came off winning big in fact the eu and the us essentially decided. They got to put aside some differences to be able to take on china. The chinese have now flown. I think twenty five planes into taiwanese airspace and done some more saber rattling if yes. If china invaded taiwan. Next week the world would do nothing. And that's the cold reality and in fact i think if the american president tried to do something the american president would probably be pressured by congress and the like to back off and not do anything. Nobody wants a war right now. Nobody wants Nobody wants to pressure. Nobody wants to engage china. Everybody's intimidated by china. The chinese no it. But i'm afraid they're going to keep pushing and something's going to happen. And that's that's a real problem. You know what else is a problem. Barkley is retiring the luke's at turner broadcasting have come for charles barkley and he has had enough Listen this is not surprising. The turner broadcasting draws barkley is a popular popular host and He said that the tertre management made him stop making fun of san antonio's women says he says we funny more now. Here's the thing you need to know charles. Barkley has been making jokes about the women of san antonio texas for at least twenty years He he refers to as the big old women san antonio and he's not wrong and he's had enough he he's if the if the woke set turner can't laugh then they're done he's he's ready to be gone And the turner people are so scared of the woke mob on social media that they're gonna lose charles barkley now because he's just fed up with a you know. This is part of the problem. This is is part of the problem. The management of various news networks are deeply afraid of the walks and the woke mob and the like and they can't take a stand. They're scared to death to take a stand. They're scared to death to stand up to a twitter mob which is not reality. You can survive the twitter ma by just not engaging them they eventually pretty rapidly usually move onto something else but the turner management. If you're on the left you care. More deeply about what social media says turner management is on the left. So they very much care. Deeply about was this by the way when they bought by discovery. At and t. is seldom discoveries. Only gonna get worse. It's only gonna get worse all right the phone number here. Eight seven seven nine seven eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. When we come back. I do need to spend a few minutes. It actually is a very big national story. The southern baptist convention is meeting. Nash is the largest protestant denomination in the united states and they've elected a new president. It is not who the media expected them to elect an turn all of their narratives on their head. It's actually been very funny to watch the meltdown in the media as they realize the guy they thought was going to win did not win someone else did. And what does it mean well. Their conclusion was predictable. And also wrong. Glad you could join me the phone number if you would like to be a part of this year program is eight. Seven seven nine seven eric. Eight seven seven hundred seven three seven four to five. I listen. I realized this is an esoteric conversation for some of you eat shouldn't be and i want to explain. Why out of the gate. I on a off a news. Talk program i feel compelled to talk about the southern baptist convention and i'm not even baptist. The reason is because it is newsworthy. In fact every major news outlet today is covering the story. they're covering it wrong of course And i would like to set the record straight. The southern baptist convention is the largest protestant denomination in america. There are millions of baptists across the country. Some of them now prefer to call themselves. Great commission baptist southern baptists than they think the southern brain dean clauses regionalism issue for them. They had their vote for a new president yesterday. There were four candidates randy adams from washington. State ed linton from alabama l. molar from kentucky. And mike stolen from here in georgia. In fact mike stone talk to was the speaker at my kid's schools graduation A couple of weeks ago. Mike stone was the guy everyone expected to win. He is a conservatives. Conservative molar is a conservative. As well like this other baptist. Pope al molar has taught in trained almost all the prominent southern baptist preachers in america. He is the president of the southern baptist theological seminary and linton is a baptist preacher from north mobile alabama. I think is north mobile baptist churches. They of church And he is perceived as a moderate. He talked about racial reconciliation. He's not a critical race. Theory proponent but has thought that the agitation against it is misguided and then there's randy adams you really didn't make a bit of difference. He was from from washington state. He got like six hundred seventy five votes out of all. Those fifteen thousand cast is only big issue was the he's not happy with the international mission board within the southern baptist convention now A lot of people are the headline. is that edlington one And the baptist. Reject the hard core conservative. That's not really true. Yes lit one with fifty two percent of the vote. But they do a that. They essentially take two rounds. They have a primary runoff so to speak. And whoever unless person gets fifty percent the top to go into the runoff well. Almo- or came in third atlit came in second mike. Stone came in i in the first round l. Molar and mike stone together got sixty percent of the vote on the nose. Mike stalled is backed by the most Hard core of the conservatives. Al molar is backed by the conservatives. Everett was backed by the more. Moderate people alamo leaders voters went to lytton in the second round. Now you need to know some background here Our was probably had this election been had last year a in but they extended. Jd greer's turbines here because cova couldn't meet to do a vote so executive council. The spca agreed to let greer stay on another year. Normally term molar did not back. Donald trump in two thousand sixteen and the hardcore conservatives held it against him in addition out. Molar is a very nice man. He is very nice. Everyone who meets elmore tins liking and elmore when people to like him as he's not a nasty person and there are people within the southern baptist convention the conservatives have decided they disliked like for example russell moore and beth bore no relation between the two both of them have left the southern baptist convention Al molar says nice things about both of these not willing to attack them in fact russell more Worked under normal or for a number of years or has come out aggressively against critical race theory. But he hasn't performed remember yesterday. I told you guys that one of the issues were dealing with in the country. Right now is a song and dance routines. You can't just say you're against something you've got. Rip off your shirt spray. Paint your opposition across your chest. Beat it and scream. If you're not willing to do that well then are. We really sure you really are committed to what you say you're committed to al malory's not into performance. He's into telling you what he believes. And you either accept the results some conservatives have gone into postmodernism and decided well unless you do me a song and dance. I can't really believe you're set in truth and by the way you didn't vote for trump so clearly you're suspect so those people all went with mike stolen from here in georgia now. Mike stoled is a good guy. Mike stolen is committed pastor. He's in black sheer georgia. He is as conservative as l. Muller is on everything but mike stolen is willing to do the song and dance that mellor's not so a group for him to call the conservative baptists network. It's a group of people. Some of whom are gifters. Not all of them. But some and they have convinced themselves that they're indispensable to the southern baptist convention and that it is necessary fight to stop. They left wing drift of the southern baptist convention and you were either completely for them or completely against them. There can be no nuance. And jesus wept. They ran a political campaign as if they were running for congress. Instead of running a campaign to be the head of a of an intra denominational luth confederacy of pastors and churches. They engaged in character. Assassination and smear campaigns whether it was dimmer their supporters. Most people think the cbi in was behind a lot of it They were engaged in in the don't supporters. let me put it that way mike. Stone supporters were ruthlessly engaged in the characteristic assassination of some very good people some very conservative people. But they weren't with mike stolen and they weren't with the this group therefore they were the enemy and they retreated as such so a lot of al molars supporters wound up going within lytton the more moderate person not because they see eye to eye with lit on every issue but they wanted to rebuke the way. The people around mike stone conducted themselves so this was not so much. Vote against mike stolen as it was voted against the people who were aggressively pushing. Mike stole he was repudiated because of them because he never said anything about him. I mean they were going after. Danny can now full disclosure. I've been working on my doctorate at southeastern baptist theological seminary. Da could is the president there and the man is a conservative. He's just a nice guy he doesn't get into the tit for tat fights that some people Believe they should these days. He has drafted statements against critical race. Theory he's a complementary. Meeting men should be the head of the household all the things that any baptist could one he is and yet he's been has characterised fascinated by people tied to mike stone because he didn't support mike stole it. It was really really gross to see. A group of people justify their nasty conduct in the name of defensive faith and they've been repudiated now the headlines in all of the newspapers was that the baptist chose to go to more moderate direction. And it's true edlington A couple of maturity believes minshew household. He's against critical race theory although he thinks that some of its nuances can be used to examine regulations. He is in favour of talking about rich reconciliation. He is believed that the sexual abuse survivors of the southern baptist convention need to be treated respectfully And so yes to that degree. He's more moderate than some but he's also still believes biblical insurance. He believes the bible's the word of god believes in the physical resurrection of christ believes in complementary and on and on a go so it's not like he's a liberal. He's just not the hard core conservative engaged in song and dance of burning down the critical theorists that everyone who supports them so You gotta have some new watch to understand this. And the fact of the matter. Is that the conservatives who back stolen really did behave terribly so lytton one As a rebuke to those who backed stone and to stoled himself there were some criticisms of stone handled some behind the scenes stuff related to sexual abuse survivors within the southern baptist convention and that all came out of the last couple of weeks and that hurt him as well for the media to say the southern baptist decided to go to more modern direction. Who is a is a flat-out Willful intention to try to break up the southern baptist convention. Now there are some of the hardcore conservatives out there who now want to break up the southern baptist convention because mike stone didn't win That that would be a schism within the convention that would spill over into american cultural life. But it's the media do eat. It's best to stir the pot right of the species gone more moderate. They really haven't i mean. Sixty percent of southern baptists on the first ballot voted for almo or or mike stolen two men whose conservative credentials are not in dispute but the media of course always views everything as conservative versus liberal anti-trump versus always trump and that's the way they viewed the southern baptist fight. There was some of the trump stuff in the molar situation in that moeller didn't back trump in two thousand sixteen and in two thousand twenty like i did came around to backing The hard core conservatives who interestingly enough almost all of the prominent ones who were opposed to miller from that angle or are deeply involved in politics and in fact were deeply involved in the election of donald trump. They held a grudge against molar in helped Make kim coming third place but they themselves were rebuked now a number of friends of mine and politics have reach out and said. How do you interpret what happened well. My interpretation is not that The moderates really one they didn't i mean sixty percent went for molar. Sold the first ballot and lytton may be more moderate in tone but it's not like he doesn't believe biblical near and dear couple materialism the real issue here is that it looks to me like this. Other baptist convention is moving on from donald trump because this convention is made up of a lot of people who very much are ardent supporters of donald trump. And that's why the media thought mike stolen was going to get elected because he was perceived as being the trumpian candidate. But the conventions demographics are younger. Now it's a lot of committed christians they're committed to biblical sexual ethics. They're committed to a couple of materialism they're committed to opposition to critical race theory all of these things. in fact they passed a resolution saying that A world view that views people by their race or ethnicity is incompatible with biblical christianity rebuked critical race theory without rebuking degrade theory essentially one of the arguments over the resolution was that we shouldn't just condemn. Crt because it just changed the name and it's going to do the same thing so let's pass this instead and they did. But what is really notable here. Is that the younger audience of the southern baptist. Convention is no less conservative than the old guys who backed mike stone but they certainly do think they're speaking into a world that has changed and they believe toll matters now. You can think tone. Does it matter but they did. They didn't drift to the left as the new york. Times is reporting today and the wall street journal is reporting today. the washington post is reporting. Today they just decided to go forward not backward. They decided to be conservative. In a way that might actually reach people who are skeptical and they decided they don't want people bringing political fights into the southern baptist convention which ended of itself as an important shift culturally moving forward for the southern baptist the largest protestant denomination in in the united states to essentially signal. That it's kind of. It's not done fighting the culture war but it is done fighting politics for a little while that's going to have profound consequences moving forward. The phone number is eight. Seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. The associated press is decided. It's not gonna name names in certain crimes anymore. I want to get there. But i i wanna finish up a thought of student in All this back and forth. It's nice to see a respectful back and forth between people. The right who disagree these days. david french dan mclaughlin engaging with each other over critical race theory. And i i gotta read you from damage. Who does a very good job of characterizing david french and you all need to understand this. 'cause you're all against david french right now but french actually has a concerned that all of you should have it as valid. He's underlying assumptions defensive. David french assumes small government conservatism is going to lose more than two wins. The assumption is born out of decades of experience. He assumes cultural conservatism will find itself more often needed protection from government institutions. Then running them also of you supported by recent experience in a defensive posture it's vital to have neutral procedural and structural rules to protect the weaker side. By contrast the new populist right stints to assume it can and will take over institutions and culture. And probably soon it rejects the need for neutral rules of constrain and abandons its defensive it's the mindset of the french armies plan seventeen nineteen fourteen with it's ill-conceived insistence on launching an offensive through the center. While the vaster army was sweeping down to paris from the north and everyman france could spare was needed. Hold the line on the marne. In other words it's foolish and by the way i think that's right listen Cultural conservatism is in large part premised on christian theological beliefs adidas. Say that again to get to the next point here. Cultural conservatism is in large part premised on christian theological beliefs christian morality. The things of the world hate the things of god. There are more of them than there are of us To think that a cultural conservatism is going to advance through institutions and the end of days is foolhardy. It's foolish it's not going to happen. So french's classical liberalism has a pretty good argument to make right now. And that is that We should have our institutions assume neutral procedures a neutral rules. But this is where it breaks down in. This is the problem with bridges argument He is upset with state governments passing laws that banned the teaching of critical race theory in public schools now. His argument has been modified since. Dan mclaughlin pointed out flaws. And that's essentially that some of the bills reportedly drafted but they're great institutions other alex for example the american legislative exchange council boogeyman of the left is actually really highly competent organization that can help draft good legislation to prohibit critical race. Theory from advancing. The problem with ridges argument is that public. Schools are extensions of the government. They're not private enterprise. So if a government bans a government school from not teaching raise the iranian government till schools. What to teach you what not to teach. All the time is perfectly fair. Why should conservatives unilaterally on that front i mean. The left tells schools all the time. Which you've gotta teach in some states. They're trying to impose the sixteen nineteen project on public schools. Why the hell should we want. The sixteen. nineteen project taught anywhere. And you're given no choice if you can't afford to send your kid to private school or you don't have the time to home. School mu got us kid. The public school the government will throw your butt in jail if you don't send your school so to tell conservatives. They can't Block critical race theory from public schools win. Conservatives are one forced to pay for it to forced us in their kids there is i think about argument. I in fact think that we have got to stand up and fight critical theory in all government operations because it is designed to divide us. It is designed to divide is i. I would love to stop talking about the topic. I feel like i talk about it every day. But there's so much on there and by the way. I am happy to answer your questions on his. You've got questions on critical theory. Feel free to call the show. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. It is just a nonstop cavalcade of corruption on the left Trying to do this. I was in an email exchange with a guy down in florida talking about the hearings in florida and it was a foregone conclusion that the florida government was going to ban teaching critical theory. It was a foregone conclusion that they were in left wing. Protesters came in and tried to shout them down. Tried to shot them down. Tried to stop them and when they went into recess. Take a bathroom break. The left wing protesters got up and left. And so this guy was telling a group of thirty milkshakes. I went out to the bathroom and was confronted by one of these guys started yelling at me and i looked at him and i said. Aren't you going to come back in and see the media. He's no we know you're gonna vote. We just want y'all know y'all racist now. How is it racist to block critical race theory. See there's a shuttles subtle shift in the argument on the left. Now that if you ban critical theory you're actually going to ban the teaching of history. See what they're doing here. They're they're connecting critical theory with teaching history. That that if you ban it you're not going to teach just you know. We want to teach history. We want people to learn history. We just do not want them to be under the impression that they are somehow bad or evil because they're white that's not history that's racism and yet the left right now in. The country has equated White people with be racist and they must have their nose rubbed in or else. That's really. it's problematic that we're at this point that you're you're presumed to be racist. You're one hundred percent presumed to be racist unless you embrace the idea of a left wing orthodoxy and that that can be sustained now that gets me into the associated press dissociated sushi decided it is no longer going to name names in crimes because it does not want people in the future who may be looking for a job to get in trouble when someone does a google search on them and found out. They broke the law. They don't want to be defined by their minor actually the associated press standard. Is that if it's a crime where they have no intention of covering the details of the crime beyond the arrest. They're not gonna mention the person's name. And i kinda get that because there are oftentimes people who are Who who are arrested for a crime and then they're found not guilty and that arrest could scarred them. That arrests could hurt them. So i get the concern. I think the concern is legitimate here but it's also starting to get under get out of hand I gotta get the name right. Hang on i. Gotta i gotta get the name right because yes. Yeah yeah yeah. Yeah yeah okay. You gotta understand what's going on now. There's a trend now in the media where the media is not giving you racial details about people so for example in austin texas in austin texas. The austin statesman newspaper refuse to give out details of who they wanted. Shooter was for a mass shooting in texas the other day because it was a young black man Worried a particular type of shirt and they decided that that would stereotype black people so the people with the shooter looked like i'm not making that up. They literally announced they would not release the details of the shooting suspect because it could be used to stereotype people and now in georgia. The same thing has happened. Victor li tucker junior was asked to adjust his mask in a grocery store he killed. The cashier. started a shootout accuster. This is the washington post a customer. Who argued over wearing a mask at a georgia supermarket shot and killed a cashier monday. Before engaging in a shootout with an off duty sheriff's deputy that left the deputy and a second cashier. Wounded officials said police identified the slain cashiers. Forty-one-year-old liquid willis. The shooting unfolded just after one pm. Monday at the big bear supermarket in decatur georgia when investigators say customer later identified as thirty year old. Victor li tucker junior left the store after the mass dispute without making his purchase but he immediately returned chucker walk directly back to the cashier pulled out a handgun and shot her. The georgia bureau. Investigations said after killing willis. The gunman opened fire on the off. Duty dekalb county sheriff's deputy who tried to intervene during his shift as a security guard. The gunman's bullet struck the deputy twice in grazed. The second woman who is also cashier none of their wounds were considered life threatening the deputy fired back and hit tucker at least once. They went out and found a guy named Victor tucker victory tucker who happen to be white and began saying look at this. This is a white guy. Had he been black they would killing and it took on a life of its own and it turns out the victory tucker who the was passing around as the shooter. The white guy wasn't actually the white guy. It happened to be a young black man and within the left realized it of course they deleted all tweets and tried rabbit hole. But that's the point here because the media refuses now to discuss the race shooters if they're black. The left is immediately able to engage. Disinformation while it clearly was a white guy. I mean who who else is upset about. Not wearing masks americans of white people and they found this guy. Named victor li tucker. They assumed it was him. They put his picture of. It's not him. The media's willfulness to withhold racial by the way the associated press dot wanted to cover the stuff. I guess it's going to give them more time to cover hamas propaganda but this is where we are in the country now race believe it or not is actually an identifier of people in allegedly. Were supposed to talk about race and be obsessed with race in fixate on the color of one's skin unless you commit a crime and then we're afraid of syria taibbi. The whole thing is just nonsensical. Let's go back to the phones tony. You're up next welcome. I wanna say something. Real quick so critical everything was against What this is really about and see the democrat party is they're losing grip on This generation so what they're trying to trying to set up the next generation of black but that can take them and this is what they're trying to do. Believe it or not we're waking. We know what democrat party is about. We know that. Just try and make us feel like you know where the victims and racism and you know support us and fifty these children the next generation so we did into schools and now we teach them but they're losing grip may know it so because what they're trying to do. This is all about this. Because i'm encountering this regularly now thank you for the phone call i. I'm encountering this regularly with people who i know in the black community who they're just kind of over it. A couple of them have gone. So far to flirt with voting. One of them did know. Most of them are still voting democrat but there are less into everything racist. The system is racist. I mean they voted for barack. Obama got elected twice. It's really hard to say the system racist and you have to order to believe that. Have to ignore our history. How much progress we've made but as the left is losing its grip on for example black and hispanic voters in the democratic party. Have you noticed that. They're up the rhetoric there the craziness there up in the shrill nature of what they claim to try to keep people from leaving the democratic party. One say black or hispanic person realizes That the republicans support getting them jobs and giving them good educations. It's amazing how quickly they are prone to start voting republican. You've got to completely dismiss everything about the current patterns and breakfast is of the gop to ignore that by the way the democrats internalized. Donald trump was bad. Donald trump racist. He'd got a higher percentage of black and hispanic voters to vote for him than mitt romney or john mccain did and they are having real hard time rationalizing why that was the case and they seem to think that somehow fox news lied to these people. And that's why they voted republican. That's not true. at all. And to the extent continue to believe that is the extent to which the republicans will continue to outperform those communities. And by the way. There's a lot of data out there suggesting. There is a massive shifted hispanic voter voting to the gop because of jobs in safety turns out the hispanic community really isn't in the defunding. The police eight seven seven seven zero eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. Let's go back to the phones bill. You're going to be up next. Welcome hair color. Good yup well I just wanted to start off congratulating with syndication. Thank you now. I've got a question. Yes sir. I've got a question your local to atlanta and you're familiar with the digital cases just popped up in the federal. Indictment pertains is civil rights violations at the at clayton county jail. Yeah right I grandfather was federal agent sixties and north florida and he had to go to many prisons in vinnie. Indictment sock terrible terrible people that did terrible things that day and age and it made national news. I'm just curious why victor hill hasn't been national news Well i if. I had to guess given the the way the media covers these things yet. There is a a racial situation involved. I think if ross now for those of you who don't know let me read you from the department of justice. Their press release clayton. County is on the south side of atlanta is a majority minority county. Victor hill is an embattled sheriff. There who was removed from office by the voters restored office. There have been all sorts of crazy allegations over the years about this guy. He's been indicted on federal civil rights charges for his employees to use excess force against four pretrial detainees at the clayton county jail in twenty twenty the indictment alleges that sheriff victor hill without any legal justification ordered his employees to strap the detainees into a restraint chair and keep them there for hours in violation of their constitutional rights. The indictment further alleges. That hill deprive the detainees of their due process rights because such use of force was unreasonable amounted to punishment and caused the detainees physical pain and bodily injury while the vast majority of our law enforcement officers perform their duties bravely professionally and with honor. Those few who abuse their power must be held. Accountable said the acting. Us attorney kurt erskine. According to the us attorney's office the indictment other information presented in court the clayton county sheriff's office inmate restraint cheer policy which was approved by hill states. That restraint chair may be used by security staff to provide safe containment of an inmate exhibiting violent or uncontrollable behavior to prevent self injury injured. Two others or property damage when control techniques are not effective consistent with the due process clause of the fourteenth amendment. The chair show never be authorized as a form of punishment and yet they believe that it has now wants the deal here well. Victor hill is popular and black and disrupts the narrative white sheriff. The media would run this as a national story but because he's not a white sheriff. He's a black shirt off a majority black community. The national media could not care less about the story because it disrupts the prevailing narrative that the media would prefer you to believe that americans continue to navigate through multiple crises. this year. I was going to talk about the composer and the arson and i will get to that but first a listener sent me the story. The listener clearly gets me because this is the store story. That infuriates me. If republicans are really interested in a populist revolution in the country they need to take on speed cameras chicago speed. Cameras are churning out hundreds of thousands of tickets after a rule change this is from. Cbs news in chicago. Chicago's speed cameras. Churned out hundreds of thousands of violations. In the month after the city dropped the threshold for automated ticking ticketing from ten miles per hour over the speed limit to just six on march first twenty twenty one speed cameras. All over chicago began issuing either warnings. Or real tickets to speeders traveling. Six to ten miles per hour over the limit in specific children's safety zones near-certain parks and schools previously thirty five dollar. Tickets were issued at ten miles over the being limited one hundred dollar tickets for eleven miles or more. What they've done is they have lowered the threshold for tickets by using cameras washington. Dc is notorious for this washington. Dc will put a speed camera at the bottom of a hill. So either you ride your breaks down the hill or you get a ticket. Speed cameras are an abdication of police. Money-making tool you know in in some areas of georgia's like alfa reta alfa reta has Traffic camera speed cameras in parts of atlanta have speak humor. I am opposed. And every city that imposes them and puts those those Red light cameras and in speed cameras out there that they really every one of them should should burn in hell for eternity. I am opposed to feel that strongly about him and the knees others. They've now they saved. I've no no no no no. If you're interested in save lives hire more police officers. What you're trying to do is generate revenue for your city abdicate. Your responsibility and your wants his in georgia. Thank goodness it is the law in the state of georgia that you cannot get a ticket based on a speed detection device if you're within ten miles of the speed limit so long it's not the state patrol the state patrol can do it. State troopers can do it. but it's county and city. cannot. I am fundamentally opposed to speed cameras. Because they're not really being used for law and order purposes around the country. Despite what city say they are being used to monetize people's driving habits for the city. Take the red light cameras in virtually every city that has deployed red light cameras. Do you know what the cities have done. They've reduced the number of seconds of yellow light. A lot of people will go through a green light. it turns yellow. They make it through or they see yellow they gun and they think they can go through and yellow lights. Did last certain number of seconds. When i was on city council making our red lights tended to last eight seconds. If there was traffic going through it was eight seconds. If not i think it was like Four to five seconds with cities do when they put red light cameras is they reduced. The number of seconds for the yellow light to ensure more people go through a red light so they can ticket more and raise revenue in georgia. One of them. I want to say the speaker of the house. One of the ranking republicans in the georgia legislature. I think it's the speaker. It's as as a kid. That's a lobbyist on behalf of the the speed cameras in georgia. They have allowed the speed cameras to be put in school zones. Not many places have done that. Thank god but it's only a matter of time as local communities decide to beef up their taxation and this is for the children father. Elgin this for the children. You'd put seatbelts on your buses but no no no no no. You're perfectly fine with the kids dying on a school bus. You just don't want the guy going five miles over the speed limit in the school and the way. i think. I'm the only person in georgia who actually goes the speed limit in a school zone when the lights are flashing. I am stunned by the number of times people flip. Offer you dirty look because the lights flashing it says go. Twenty five is slow down to twenty five people are with around me. You could put a police officer in the speeds zone. But no you want to abdicate to a camera because you're not really interested in getting people to slow down. You're interested in making money off of the taxpayers. Because you hope that it's not your tax payers. oh people like for example in the district of columbia. They put the speed light cameras at the border. So that the people going into virginia and maryland are the ones pain the tickets they don't do it to the washington dc taxpayers. They give tickets. The people going into virginia and maryland or coming in from virginia maryland. I am so opposed to the cameras. I am so oppose and here now is another example of why chicago they have lowered the threshold. It had been. If you're within ten miles you're fine and now it's six miles. The city did it. They didn't tell anybody they didn't advertise it. They just lowered it and they've raked in more cash. The cbs investigators looked at publicly available data as well as information received from public records request for a thirty six day period before and after the change took effect. We learned that citywide tickets went up from thirty five thousand seven hundred eighty four in the five weeks before march first. Two three hundred ninety eight thousand two hundred thirty three in the five weeks after those thirty three hundred ninety eight thousand tickets amounted to eight hundred. Seventy thousand thirty five dollars in fines. So of those tickets could have been first warnings that did not result in a fine owed. This is absurd it is offensive and you know what i have very little sympathy for the people of chicago because they keep electing the clowns that imposed this on them your state legislature can ban the use of these speed detection cameras and they should and it should shame the legislators places like georgia that are republican that they have not done so not only that they allowed them. It is creeping authoritarianism when your government will put an speed light camera not actually even higher extra police in the name of safety. Just put in the franken camera the tax you and that's what it amounts to is a tax but it's called a fine for speeding they just wanna make money off of you and then they claim all your been speeding within six miles of the speed limit. I'm opposed to now. I feel better. I can move on to. The composer was canceled. This is such a bizarre story. And i feel really bad for this guy Reason magazine has the story up and it just. It was a head scratcher to me that a composer condemned arson and has now been canceled for condemning arson. No i wish. I was making this up but i'm not This guy lives in nashville tennessee. He composes mostly classical music. Daniel elders a thirty four year old musician. He had a promising career ahead of the theme of the prize. Winning composers work truth through emotion is evident across his catalog of choral music including his debut commercial album. The hearts reflection elder isn't composing music these days and even if he were no one in the industry is willing to buy his work his publisher has blackballed him. Local choral directors refused to program his music for fear of provoking a backlash. They won't even let him sing in the choir. My artistic wellspring is capped said elder. I think it will come back but things have remained in quite a rough place after all. This happened what happened. Elder made a short statement on instagram. that went viral. During the george floyd protests the young composer is hardly the first person to suffer significant professional consequences after causing a social media firestorm. Virtually every day brings more examples of people saying slightly offensive things. Soak the fury of the mob. The problems now so exhaustively covered the media that cancel culture is become a top issue for many republican voters even though conservatives engaging cancellation as well but even among those cancel culture successes elder supposed transgressions. Stand out as particularly absurd though. He was tarred and feathered as racist contrary. The instagram post that caused all the trouble was neither racist nor contrarian an overwhelming majority of people likely agree with the sentiment behind it which was basically arson is bad. Elder always considered himself a man of the center left. He was not particularly political or outspoken. He supports liberal causes including police reform in opposition to racism. The fact he was on the same side of progressive activists strange betrayal. George floyd death at the hands of minneapolis. Police on may twenty fifth twenty twenty calls widespread protests on may thirtieth around a thousand peaceful. Protesters marched down. The streets of nashville. As part of an i will breathe rally but not everyone on the street was peaceful. A group of activists joined the protest as it was drawing to a close started smashing windows spraying graffiti hurling rocks and someone set the city's historic courthouse on fire. The courthouse windows were smashed. Its walls were spray. Painted with graffiti and fire was started inside the building damaging. A portion of the mayor's office noted the nashville tennessee newspaper. The destruction spooked elder who live nearby and was thus under citywide curfew. He saw the mob and he with to instagram and said enjoy burning it all down you well intentioned blind people i'm done. He was criticizing the activists for setting fire. They've now come for him. They've decided to bully him. They've decided to drive him out of the classical composition. He's had to shut down his social media. He cannot get a job he cannot get hired. No one of the classical musical industry wants to hire him His mini former appreciator of his music. Rescre expressed regret one commented that he needed to read white fragility and hope that he might find a way to lose the hate in his heart. All he did was say are soon as bad. Gi publications is the major publisher of religious composition and it decided that it needed to stop publishing his work and he needed to apologize. He's being censored by private. Companies aren't bound by the first amendment for daring to say arsonists bad. This is insane that in the twenty first century in the united states someone who supports black lives matters can be cancelled by black lives matters for just having the audacity to say hey Maybe you should burn stuff down including his city but this is where the left is. They always come for themselves. It is well When we come back we gotta talk about environmentalists. Who thinks to intersection are coming for themselves. And cancelling themselves but i. They've canceled daniel. Eldery composer of classical music for daring to oppose arson. Tracked down some of this guys. Music daniel elder who's been cancelled by the leftist publisher won't even publishes music anymore. Here's a sample yet. this guy. He's been canceled now by the left for daring to oppose arson. That's just bizarre right to the phones. We go eddie. You're gonna be next eddie. Welcome to the program. How are you doing a great. Thanks love your show. thank you earlier. You were talking about the the stop light cameras. I was under the impression that by law. The accused had the right to face his accuser import. But i don't see how you can do that when my accusers hanging from a wire at the corner you see this is a another good point and i'm ashamed of myself i didn't make earlier What these cameras amount to is a tax on poor people because rich people will know more likely than not or have a lawyer. Tell them that they have to be able to face their accuser which they cannot do in these cases therefore it's the poor people who are the ones who are going to be suffering defines. I mean you can go see. It wasn't me in the car and you when they say who was. I have no idea got three people in the house. I don't know now. Some of them will try to take a shot of your face depending on the camera setup But yeah i mean you you should have the right to face. You're accused and if you know what you're doing. Oftentimes you can get out of these sorts of tickets you can appeal and if you're poor you don't have time you don't have a good lawyer. You don't know a lot about the law. Well then you're screwed. It's it's the rich people Who art and again. This is such a popular issue that the right should seize on that. These sorts of things are being brought to bear by the left It is different democratic politicians and democratic states. That mostly do this. The right and republicans should flat out oppose it and it would be hit in poorer communities for them to oppose it particularly with the poor communities. Understand the camera's always go in poor neighborhoods. Well this just in this is breaking news here. In the third hour of the program the federal reserve has a sharply raised expectations for inflation and brought forward the timeframe which it intends to raise interest rates. The central bank gave no indication as to win. It will begin cutting back on. Its aggressive bond buying program leaving investors to watch for jerome powell. Press conference on clues about when tapering will begin. As expected the policy-making federal open market committee unanimously left. Its benchmark short term borrowing rate anchored near zero but officials indicated. That rate hikes could come as soon as twenty twenty three after sade in march that its all no increase soldo increase until twenty twenty four the so called dot plot of individual member expectations pointed to two hikes in two thousand twenty three though the fed raised its headline inflation expectations to three point. Four percent a full percentage point higher than the march projection. The post meeting statement continued to say that inflation pressures are transitory. This is not what the market expected said. James mccann deputy chief economist. At aberdeen standard investments. The fed is now signalling that rates will indeed need to rise sooner and faster and their forecasts suggesting to hikes in two thousand hundred twenty three this change in stance jars a little with the fed's recent claims that the recent spike in inflation as transitory. They're still saying it's transitory. But they're acting like it's not now if you want a sense of what's going on the markets as a result of this now for those you listening to me In podcast or on delay. i'm talking. It's two twenty eight pm right now and the dow is down two hundred eighty eight points. The nasdaq is down. Two hundred twenty one points and the s&p five hundred is down thirty two points all because all. Because joe biden was warned by larry summers. And now it's not even larry summers. It's several obama administration. Economic officials including steve rattner have come out and said hey This big spending by the bite administration causing inflation and if they do the infrastructure deal is going to cause even more inflation. The fed is saying that's transitory. It's going to pass quickly. But they're acting like it's going to be for a while and guess what you know after an it after interest rates go up within about nine months of interest rates going up there tends to be a recession. The fed is saying that they're going to raise it twice. Twenty twenty three. What is twenty twenty four. That would be a presidential year with interest rates going up and probably a recession. Good luck. democrats good luck. Democrats will see you and twenty twenty four with someone like to santa's who got us economy firing on all cylinders where you rectify do not know this reporter. This reporter is abc. News reporter. rachel. Scott i can't believe she asked this question but i'm proud of her as an american for asking this question of latimer. Putin comes key news. American colleagues mr president. Thank you so much for taking my question. President biden has said that he would respond if cyber attacks from russia. Do not stop. I'm curious what did he tell you. Did he make any threats. And a quick. Follow up the list of your political opponents who are dead prison or jail is long alexia volume organization calls for free and fair elections end to corruption but russia has outlawed that organization calling it. And you have now prevented anyone who supports him to run for office. So my question is mr president. What are you so afraid of awful. Bravo to rachel scott. Let's hear the answer should ensure of right well once again. I would like to repeat what. I said about the so-called foreign agents and the people who say that they are part of the unauthorized opposition. I've already spoken to. You'll colleagues but now i have to repeat to us okay. Once again the. Us has passed a law which said that the us would Particularly favor individual organizations impression and at the same time they declared the russian federation as an enemy. They've publicly declared that they will try to contain russia. Take my question is which organizations which political organizations in the us aren't going to a supported by the us especially if they paid does not answer the question. Wow that's a dodge. That's a dodge. Not she's not going to be able to get a follow up there good for her for asking the question. It actually is remarkable What he vladimir putin does and doesn't have a lot of engagement of the world stage with stuff like this now. I wanna talk about the story. I've been saving this went up. This is just. I love the story so much. It's worth talking about this room national review. This is zach evans at national review. The auckland new zealand chapter of school strike for climate. New zealand is shutting itself down. This is an organization inspired by greta. Food and berg thunberg to stand up and now it's disbanding itself. It says that it is racist and white dominated so it's shutting down. Now what what would. What do they do. That makes them racist a ha- school strike for climate. A movement of student protests against global warming began in the wake of dune burg's activism and ballooned allied spread student strikes twenty nine hundred around twenty thousand new zealand. Students went on strike in march twenty nineteen organized by school strike new zealand. It describes itself as the new zealand movement of greta. Jon berg strikes in europe. The auckland branch of the group is dissolving. It says by park communities that is what black indigenous people of color. Or whatever way. I don't wanna get canceled. I don't wanna get cancelled. What does it stand for i. It's person of color. Black indigenous an other people of color when they can't call it bio pic. Because while you think it was a biography by park communities are disproportionately affected by climate change. So the fight for climate justice should be led by their voices in needs not by white new zealanders. We are disbanding since because since two thousand nineteen schools strike for climate auckland as well as the wider national group. Though we can't speak on his behalf has been a racist white dominated space. The organization apologized for the hurt burned out and trauma caused too many by jacques individuals. There probably traumatized by be goldbach as well as for the further trauma caused by our slow action to take responsibility. We recognized that. This apology can never be enough to make up for our actions. On top of years of systemic and systematic oppression sophie hanford one of the founders of schools right new zealand express skepticism of the move. You're probably wondering what really did this. What what seriously. What did they do. What racism did they get. You know you've missed the point. They've they've shut themselves down because there aren't enough minorities in the group and because it's all a bunch of white people in the group. It is a definition louis racist group. You see where this all leads. The this is the the sort of nuttiness it's like in washington. Dc there's a story about a girl she got dragged by the hair and pulled out of a bar She's lawyered up already. She says it was racism. It was a Predominantly black Club that she was in what they black balancer who dragged her out. She herself was black and cheats now screaming. racism the balancing engaged in racism. I'm sure critically when it comes to critical theory. You know if you're a bouncer. You're you're kind of law enforcement. Law enforcement is what white people do. Therefore you're a tool of the white oppressors. I just find this hilarious. They're going to eat their own. they always do they. They come for their own. And you know this is getting so pervasive. Now the pentagon there was an awkward hearing with the chief of naval operations in washington. Listen to this guy. He is thoroughly indignant. That republicans don't like them teaching Critical theory it's admiral michael kildee. He is the chief of naval operations grilled before a congressional committee on the critical race theory. They're forcing cadets to learn you. Kennedy's book states that capitalism is essentially racist and kennedy is clear that racism must be eliminated so yes or no. Do you personally consider advocating for the destruction of american capitalism to be extremist. Here's what. I know congressman so yes racism in the united states navy. Admiral you recommend every sailor in the united states navy. Read this book so yes or no. I'm not forcing anybody to read the book. It's on a recommended reading lists admiral. Did you read the book. I did okay and in college. Kandy stated that white people are a different breed of humans and are responsible for the aids virus. Yes or no. Do you personally consider the conspiracy that white people started aides to extremist belief. Sir i'd have to understand the context is somebody made. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna admiral. This is a book that you recommend. Every in the united states navy very picked quotes from. Somebody's book i'm gonna do that. This is a bigger issue than kennedy's book. What this is really about is trying to paint the united states military in this case the united states navy is weak as woke. Ed kind of getting that way. Isn't it one last clip. You're listening to this one. So if sailors. Except kennedy's argument that america and the united states. Navy are fundamentally racist as. You've encourage them to do. Do you expect that to increase or decrease morale and cohesion or even recruiting in the united states navy. I do know this. Our strength is in our diversity in our sailors understand. That race is a very racism in the united states is a very complex issue. What we benefit from is an open discussion about those issues that we don't try to ignore it a rewrite it but we actually have a discussion about it. And they'll be various views. And i trust sailors will come and and to an understanding of hopefully separating fact from fiction agreeing or disagreeing with kennedy in this case and come to hopefully very useful conclusions about how to treat each other in the united admiral. Why why did you put this book on. The reading list recommended that every single united states sailor read it. Because i think it's really important to consider a variety of us remember. You said you read this book. What part of. This book is redeeming and and qualifies as something that every every sailor critical about his own journey as an african american in this country. What he's experienced. Let me ask you again admiral. Do you expect that. Say after sailors. Read this book that says that the united states navy racist that we will increase or decrease morale cohesion and recruiting race into the united states navy. I think will be better navy from having open honest conversations about racism I mean two point. Ebron kindy ill. By the way abram kid. He's the guy played the clip. The other day of kindi kindi believes the College kids are no longer about slavery in this country. I think i. I am sympathetic to teachers and educators everywhere who are committed to doing our jobs and our job is to tell the truth Job is to tell the good and the bad Our job is to tell the light and the darkness. And i think that's what students want and i know i've had so many students who've come to my classrooms in colleges angry that they did not learn about systemic racism and even about slavery about well first of all. Why should they learn about the mythology. Systemic racism but ticket they. Are you really telling me. They never covered the civil war in their high school. Really really the good woke white kids who go to the rich private schools who send them into to the ivy league data. All teach those they really. Are we supposed to believe that really. This is the guy who believes that. In order to fix discrimination you must do reverse discrimination and make it painful on the white people and he is the patriots and by the way he can't. He can't define racism He was asked. Remember the aspen institute. I played that clip. He was asked to define racism and he was incapable of defining racism himself. He could not do it. They gave him multiple chances to try to do it and he couldn't he defined racism with the word racism. Which is the thing you're never to do. You're never ever supposed to define the word. Racism with the word races like defining the word hamburger with a hamburger. You don't do that and yet he did. Which is generally a generally acknowledged as not being a particular bright thing to do. That's what he did. he defined. racism is racism. I'm looking for clip. I can't fight it immediately. in But that's what he did. It's just bizarre to me that we've made this guy kind of the the the man. We listened to to try to acknowledge and define racism in this country when he himself is largely incapable of doing it And e- it's just. It's it's bizarre. I felt the clip here. Listen to this you glasses. Somebody shari this. Guy's on. Mike now wondering i just entreating robin. Sorry that that clip is so terrible. It's not worth me to finding racism. But but unless i missed it which is possible i i i didn't hear your personal definition is there. Is there one that you would offer us like. How do you define racism. racism. I would define it. As a collection of racist policies that lead to racial equity that was substantiated by racist ideas. He's asked again. can you do it. Sure a collection of racist policies that lead to racial equity that was substantiated by racist ideas. Anti-racism is a pretty simple using the same terms. Anti racism is a collection of anti-racist policies leading to racial equity data substantiated by anti-racist ideas. So what is racism racism racism. He knows that when he sees it and of course he sees it everywhere and now the united states navy is reading his book that says the navy and the government and the constitution itself or all systemically racist and the head of naval operations is doubled down and defensive that Good luck wanting to get people to join the navy to defend the country after teaching. Those people That their countries systemically racist and oppressive really good job there. I look forward to the stories about falling recruitment in the military. Can we spend just a moment on the canadian healthcare system because the media and the left this country love to say we should be more like canada canada. The canadians are the growing increasingly authoritarian under justin trudeau. It's it's kind of shocking. What they're getting away with. And what the media itself is allowing to get away with they actually have arrested a reporter a journalist for shaking hands and laughing in public His name is david menzies. Toronto based reporter and he's been covering the lockdown restrictions in canada. you're not allowed to shake hands or laugh in public and he has been arrested for shaking hands and laughing in public They've also arrested yet another preacher and candidate for allowing people to come to his house to worship. They've been shutting down churches in canada now. A lot of stuff is open in canada Marijuana dispensaries are open a lot of bars or open but churches allowed open churches because they might seemed in going to jail. You california steroids california whoever's has dropped its restrictions now one of the most notable things here as well in canada's that the public is going along with by large the christians are but everyone else is even the catholic Christians and canada are beginning to complain about the restrictions It is shocking to me that there is not much of an effort to oppose this stuff but There in lies one of the issues. We are not allowed to oppose the government. It seems you're somehow racist and bad if you want to oppose the government. I think you've got to stand up for your rights. Listen there's a reasonableness out there But when the government in the media so badly misleads on stuff. I'm not sure why we really Want to take their word for what's going on it. It's just striking to me to see the media doubling down in defense of themselves over the the wuhan virus stuff Terry moran from abc news actually blaming president trump for the media's refusal to consider the virus. Come for rwanda. Why because the president was so insistent that it did the media. Says he lies about everything so they couldn't believe him. Now you got dr redfield from the cdc who was on the program a while back. Listen to this. It just seemed like a lot of people wanted to squelch any idea that there was another hypothesis. And i think that's what i find the most disappointing because i would expect that from politicians. I would expect that from governments. I would never expect for the scientific community and yet what we witnessed was. The scientific community went on heavy to try to stop any open debate about the origins of this virus. And i find. That is very very sad very disconcerting. In very anti science very anti-science the community is so far left that the left wing politics can shape their conclusions and in shaping their conclusions. They undermined the integrity of the operation. And now it turns out the virus probably did come from that lab. And they're still in denial. They're canceling jon. Stewart for pointing it out. Accurately on stephen colbert show seemed to be broken by the. You know sometimes the truth that work for you liberals.

Some of these women were the old wives didn't seem to know who any of the. New wives. Were it was a a masterpiece I'm sitting in my bathroom of a hotel room. Just watching it all and Holden. He likes a leather face. That's okay. Now speaking Carol, not giving us the things that we ordered which were a lot of things like our, well, we'll see later, but carols sky, she's up to some very strange stuff online with what she's selling. And I know we talked about it last week. But we found some other dues ruse. Now, she is telling her wares on posh, Mark. And by wears I meant rescues, I don't know brand new in-box sonacare toothbrush sold. Yummy, tummy tank tops. Andrew we've got you here in a second and talk about Bandra plumper rules, but we wanted to introduce. Are boots on the ground? Mike. Now, we've got a new rule for tonight's. If you come up just lineup you're gonna you're gonna sit on the floor. And I don't know how else to say. Because other people can't see it was no problem for show base that right down. Yeah. And then they sat right up when we call them, and we're going to give you thirty seconds to just get it out there. And then we're going to move you along unless it's amazing. So come up when you're ready, but we're going to get into Vander pump rule. Yes. Andrew, what do you make of it? I mean. Okay. So I forget what when they go to that place where they dislike break stuff because they have so much raid. Yeah. Yeah. All they do is throw drinks and break shit. So what is it? What would they escaping from? Exactly. I was a little confused by that's very misdirect like a new trope for all the Bravo shows these rooms used to be escape rooms now it's break room. Yes. It's very awful by that baffled by and also as I mentioned, the fact that starchy described herself as a hard though in a wrecked. Dick. And a rat. That was her defense by being a raging bitch. I'm more of a flaccid penis up aghast ashore to fly. I'm more hat half-mast semi semi sensible semi, dick. Sensible semi. Yeah. That's it. I mean stocky so I just wrote to me. And I thought it was really funny that their friends said that they called stocky. She's not the Mary Tyler Moore we want. But she's the Mary Tyler Moore we deserve. Here is really true pointed out something about poor Katie that everyone's calling her, you know, everyone trying to defend Katie and saying we'll know, but they all how many times are they going to invert only call her fat. And they called her fat the fat girl. She said she's fat. And they just kept saying they're like remember when he James called her fat, you fatty over there this heifer, they call her and then cap saying spill right into it. They're like she she could stop eating cookies. But you know, it's wrong. I mean, I'm just worried for her health. Yeah. I mean, I want her to be healthy. But she's fat that he called her back. It was fucking insane. While she's not. Ring. She is boring. She's boring. Wow. Very dark energy to me. She's like a void. I don't know what what's any LX women that are scared of her. She's got a dangerous energy anybody'll seeing this everyone. I if I faced Katie and Kristin do duty. Doughty Dodie Jody. That's the worst version of what that could be. If I face them in a dark alley. I would run the other fucking way. I would gladly get into Ted bundy's car be like dry me from those crazies. No, let me Tom, Tom. Yeah. I also I thought Tom and Tom were a couple, and I was really bummed that they weren't. But they do seem like they probably sucked each other's Dicks. Suck suck, bro. Mombrun? Did you Brexit sack or a suck for us ach? Well, suck force knows saying a sucks. A sow for suck. I mean, suck for a suck makes more sense. Very democratic. I was implying that they were just like it was good drunk one of finale, probably part of the families their friendship yell little Hanje. Yeah. Just a little something. I'm really elevating your show. Blasting it elevating. You're elevating and herbal things. I. Ars weller. Hi, what could later? Help us make the Mike taller after this lovely woman seeks to us. Hi, hi. A friend of mine works at a salon on the upper east side. And there's a lot of house way. Jason people of one of her clients is a really good friend of Jason, Hoppy. Yes. Just wait. Like, we said voldemort. So I they they think it's a really big joke that he passed himself off as a businessman because the only way he ever made money was being a personal trainer when he was with her, and he was only with her for her money, and he's going to use Dennis's death as a way to get more custody. So that he can get more money from her. That's no real this real dark. No, it's it's a dark boot. It's sometimes you need to. Yeah. Thank you so much. I needed it. Think you I left your shirt that says not today saying, thank you. Hi. Hi. So my best friend and talking to the sorry, my best friend, and I recently went to a meet and greet with Jesse from ninety day. He is a monster ninety on say Jesse. Yes. So we were taking a selfie with him. And he didn't like the photo. He yelped my cell phone from my hand. No asking nothing just put it from a ham and started taking pictures, and then gave it to someone else to start taking photos, like get all he's a complete nurse assists. Yes. But more important the people who were throwing this meet and greet for him. We're like sopranos on steroids. I've never seen people like this in real life. Thank you. Thank you wonderful. Sorry. He has pimples all over his face. Also. That's probably why the angles. Thank you. Bye. He's terrifying. Guys. I'm still waiting on my cameo from Jesse. I ordered it two months ago. What's he doing? What are these people doing a cameo run from Jesse? Well. I believe jesse's was forty five dollars seems right? This seems right said that like Lou N is shifting her cameo price weekend week. Yes, she fluctuates with the market. And like, you know, if she did something funny, it's up it's down. Okay. She's in rehab. She has more time to Bank. Andrew you are a singer and you're an actor award nominated loser. It's an honor to be eligible. What did you think of the orgasm worker? As an actor LA is very tricky because there's so many acting teachers out there, but they all probably lead to either being trafficked or a Colt. Oh, don't. Every Colt starts with an act like unemployed actors l L Ron Hubbard was a failed a science fiction screen rate. You think you're in a cool. No by screenplay. I'll make it a religion guys. Screw if you don't think this is a call right now started by two actors, you're wrong. But we're all in one next thing. You know, going to set this beater on fire the doors wanted to. Wants to. We're gonna put on Malania video. Lower than. Up. And have a peaceful release. That was a dark boot. Very. No. But that was like an acting teacher who asked you to fake an orgasm in front of them strange and either of those girls, what are they going out for like really she had his dabbled in the craft. But Lalla, I didn't know. Okay. Was it her hus- her man's movie? The one that Hollywood is afraid of because they won't touch gangsters. I think so I saw God, I told you. Come on up. Oh, hey, I'll be ready. It's bring up at a moment's notice. Well, we didn't you know? We're all very pull it out. There you go. Hi, guys. Love you. So I worked for a law firm that did both Bethany and Ramona's refinances. Finances class, you know, they're refinance Ramona hit on my boss via Email for over a year after her refinance. And Bethany finances are not in as good of standing as she makes them seem. Use. I share it. That says Giovanni to you. Funny to you in joy. Wow. Dark south while while while wow, come on here. I bankrupt. I think it's just bankrupt. Okay. So I actually have to boot on the ground one one. Isn't that too? Okay. To the make one decide you okay? Okay. Tinsley Mortimer came to my friend. The other one is about you. So we'll do Tenzing. I am bankrupt. Okay. So Timothy more where it came to my friends Christmas party. And she's my best friend in spite of the fact that she doesn't watch real housewives. So Tennessee walked in. She has no idea. She is. And I'm like, I'm shook. So she comes in and immediately have to find a way to talk to her. We happen to go to the same hair colors. So that's our for. So are you talking her collar? She. We start talking about Kyle, and blah, blah, blah. And so then obviously, unlike China tow this line like a refund or a huge fan. So anyway, long story short. I obviously go too far. And I'm like talking about the show, and whatever, and she basically said that the reason that she and Scott keep breaking up is because he doesn't wanna be on the show. And so she says every time they film they have to stop being together. And she was like so hard to choose between the two loves of my life. She really doesn't wanna be on the show. She just wants to be married. But like you can find a decent guy. She does want to be on. Yeah. Yeah. Or or she would quit and just Mary Scott live in Chicago. But she's like I can't live in Chicago. Yes, allegedly. He says like it's he realizes it's a big opportunity for her. So he doesn't wanna take it away for her. I have boot on the grind about me. I'm scared. Okay. So I'm truly scared everything in my body a saying, let's not here. All right. And you lose your hope she doesn't work in wardrobe. I've had some stumbles in my day with costumers. It's none of that. Much like when tamra found the church when I found bitch us, it was like all I could talk about. So you had said something hysterical. That was not house, right? Really like me. Was anecdotal. I can't remember what it was. So I was talking to my brother and I'm on phone with him. I'm like, oh my God. I've been listening to this podcast. Casey Wilson is so hysterical. She said the funniest thing he goes. Oh. Sorry. You were looking. And he goes, oh, she is historical. You know that I dated her. And I. Yeah. So I mean, I was like my sister. But yeah. So I'll give you hint to it is, okay. There's. Go through the catalog. It'll come he used to be a magician? This gentleman. Down. I. Team besides being a magician. Boot his name was Ashley. Wow. Ultimate disappeared act. Thank him. Thank you. I did not see that coming. Thank you, those great that actually kind of nice to hear from him again. Yen because. I had to take I think in sheer fashion. I. Yep. Okay. You're processing allow right? I know he's alive. Ask you a question. Did you how the break up? Not okay. It doesn't. Literally never heard from him. Wow. So I'm saying it's nice to check in on him. So welfare check. I'm glad seats. So. Refunding now. Very nice. Okay. Wow. We we bring our next guest. We. Now, we're going to do a scene for Vander pump. And we need to call out some guests burst. We'd like to bring to you. Now, actually just moved back to New Jersey. Back in play. I think that jersey lost its way for a bit after I left the show. Off L apart. They tried to kind of make glamorous like all the new franchises that are coming out. But it doesn't really lend itself to glamour or. Glamour's Kachins those dark yards like it's just not very those like Rosty like houses, those Muslim houses that I don't have a bit of furniture does like it's very weird. But it's back. I think jersey is finally. I'm really happy for them and Corey back. It's back. It's back in what do you think about Jan? And jackie. I'd actually like to start with March because we want to start. Hi, mark. Sar MVP Shannon Bador during like X factor. Right. They call in the business. It. She's great. She's fine. Likely it, but it's she is due. I mean, Stephen King it a little. Her husband's always, Tommy Bahama t shirt. Him. So. Little porch swing and just chatting about he's a construction worker, right? That cannot complete construction. And she's like, that's that's he Hollarin' accepts much for she brick friendly person. I do love it. I kind of knew me, but embrace it when she's like, they're working hard. You know, they're pushing March, and I'm like, you know, they're pushing marches house lady. She's great, right? I don't know. It's just as six eighty. Smart lamely Marlee turning it up a bit. Yeah. She got a little mama joy center. Marleny always comes in. And like a cute little align dress, which just like I love her and her short central oils on Facebook class. No, I'm kidding. I was like, of course, you seem very natural jersey strong. Essential oil. Can't wait. Can we also talk about Jen? And that seen the end of that seem jetted Marge. Now, if you do that, see the altercation between Jenin Marge, all you need to know is that grown women said the following each other. March said to Januar lip liner looks like a monkey's asshole. And then Jen says that you saw. Doc. Probably. Like, I like that. She had mended at she's like that. You would suck probably. All together shore. She's like maybe you'd head and then head away. No, probably Jenas. Jen is not for me. But I think she's good for the show. She's thing you have to be able to recognize that in house sometimes you don't like them. But they cause problems, and we need that we need conflict in our life house her house. I'm sorry. Her house husband is such he terrifies me so much. But then when she called him when she was away in Kabo. I felt like well, he's got a little kick. Misstep? He was like, hey, and then I realize T so happy to be away from. Oh, yeah. And when she was like when when a woman has to tell her man to pay attention to their children. It makes me sad when she was just like talk to your kids, and he was like, oh, I'm going home. I'll write back. Real an addendum to then after the whole monkey sucking asshole thing, then goes, you know, what I'll suck that asshole. Nobody sucks an asshole not how it works. You know, don't really mean. Yeah. You might lick it. But you don't suck. It. It was so confusing and yet so how would you would have to be like a breath of air? Now, they're doing it wrong. I think it's like reverse. Just trying to picture, and I'm just trying to you sense memory. I'm an actor. Someone also told us that the meet and greet that their friends with Marty. Kathy's kaffir tease. John kids was like, oh, yeah. They're very upset. As you would be if your father married Daniels. Douled fucking dirty John. Yeah. I mean, she's such crazy cheekbones, and I'm genuinely terrified of. Oh. Although she did you beautiful cameo for you. Yes. Skies was beautiful. It was placed on what I was not shy with like fifteen bucks. If it was a day. No, no. She's like sixty five oh, really? Sane. Pay extra for the crazy. I feel like her friendship with Theresa's oddly, like very grounded though in very real does. I'm like what does what does have on Theresa? I don't think that's it. I don't think like have you guys ever seen Space Jam obviously, you've seen, you know, in the part where like my George is chains to the ground and the little aliens are running up the stairs to dunk on him. That's how I feel Theresa is on this show. Like, she has to do this. Like, she like she has to I have not. But doesn't she know she'd secure her job so much more where where she to turn on rape down that I feel like she liked being rich more than she likes being famous. And I think it's a little what did you think? Like Danielle comes out with that fucking lunatic hair. And she's like, okay, you can be my friend like I'll share a room with you. And all I could think about on that trip was like those cameras go down, and like they're in that hotel room together all night wakes for day. Right. Just hair extensions. Every the witches like Daniel pulls her face off. I would like to talk about one of my favorite moments on this show with Frank who's become my new favorite house. Then. Because they were talking about Frank junior and how they were oiling him up and getting ready for the competition. And and and she says remember when Frankie couldn't even fill out his pajamas was when he was born. And then Frank says Cousy was a baby. Because he was a B. Visit was the baby I get a bunch of the house has together. Like I'd like to see like Frank senior with David foster. When Frankie senior Frank seniors used me was lathering up Theresa's, self Tanner. I've never in my life seen anything like that the house, husbands like it. More than the housewives. I'm going to tell you that like when you're there. And you're getting ready to film, something that house husbands are like, let's go baby. Mike mea. Like, let's do it knocked the scene out. Real. Yes. Thank you for being so patient on our very now, the Mike is so low Chris wherever you are. Can you raise the mic leader? Hi, that's fine. I'm delivering this boots on the ground on boyfriend. Have you slept with any of us? Would you care to? That's off bachelor number one. We'll talk later, but. Anyway, I'm delivering this on behalf of my best friend who couldn't be here tonight, he slept with gauge from flipping out. Really, your friend. Gets okay while Jeff Lewis watch. I. A new look. I'm three. Wow wild. We're any info we're getting some good info these deeply personal in. Greg. You're right, deeply, personal info. Yeah. Wow. Greg. Okay. Speeding Danielle Staub. Cage. Now any else out being Daniel, Sal? I I've been thinking a lot have a little list of housewives who I would love to see got like the big Hollywood bio pic treatment. It's a short list like Ali or cheese number one on that list. And I'll tell you I I did some research. I read a Gawker article from two thousand nine. And I read PD page, and she has quite an interesting story. And so if we could do a bio pic great, but if not maybe like a Ryan Murphy American crime story. Get starts with her stealing mardi cavities home goes backwards. Like the for Sachi one ends with her like in Italy as I'm interrupt. You really quick. I asked the girl who is friends with Marty's kids. I said he's mardi. 'cause I read this article that Marty's trying to haunt her through her Ness Cam. Taper ready. What was his newspaper was? Daily. Marty. His name's Marty going to the NASCAR. She's still living at the house and turning up the heat and turning down the a c and just fucking with her. You're so weak. Yeah. So I would love to see that. I know Ryan Murphy loves source material. I don't think like Jeffrey Toobin is writing a book about Danielle stops life about oh. And the other on. So I actually I drafted a short poem. Prevost by saying that writing homes like for people you love like oh Countess Lou is the pen to paper just flows right out. I wrote three actually I wrote three of them and Danielle haunting your pen. I actually like midway through this poem. I kind of had a realization and you'll see. Okay. Well, it was a journey. I'm gonna stand. Get it right at the last minute. Ryan Murphy, if you'd like to option this you are welcome to. Feel more comfortable than the town. This is called the ballad of Beverly Mero. That's Daniel stops real name. Learn that in my research. Why would you change your name to Danielle? Because its beauty and motion. Sound when you say the name, it's almost like pre. Jan. Yeah. You have just pushed through a Danielle. And I think you wear beautiful. What you say to someone is in a tight top. All right. The ballot of Merrill. Born to an unwed teen mother in Italy, and unknown number of years ago was a girl whose real name to this day. We don't know. She was sent Pennsylvania in saved from a life of Perreault. They raised her as her own as their own and named her Beverly. She's gone by different names. This was the first of many she moved to Miami where her working girl. Name was Angela Minelli. Rhyme. But it's still bit. Ryan. I was just a burlesque dancer. She claims to this day. But one former client doesn't see it that way. This client sold blow for the Colombian cartel. And that's where this story goes straight down to hell. She was jumped by four men while brokering a deal. The man thought her neighbor did it. So they kidnapped him for real. Angela burlesque dancer called the boys dab saying if he didn't pay twenty five thousand dollars that things would get bad the father called the FBI and sent them to the place. They arrested the dealer, but all Angela escaped. Then on June twenty third nineteen eighty six at a Miami residents on south west forty fifth. I read the indictment. That's actually where it happened. They found Angela Manelli shouldn't put up a fight. They also found six kilos of cocaine in sixteen thousand dollars cash sitting in plain sight. It's shirt. Wow. She turned on the dealer and cooperated with the feds pled guilty to extortion. But was now wanted for dead the dealers mother would call her all day and all night, your life's at an end. Honey, she'd say with such spite. And then at this point, I stopped reading this woman's rap sheet, this poem, my dear listeners, I could not complete. I started to fear for this life of my own. See I have a good job in a boyfriend at home. She could do this again if she did it before. And I don't want Beverly knocking on my door. So Ryan Murphy, if you're listening a change my mind, it's still your call. But we don't need Beverly Merrill season of American crime story, not even a little bit not even at all. Being of beauty. Speaking of beauty. Ain't you Greg? That was that was like a history lesson that I want to hear it was halfway through. I didn't even finish the rap sheet guys like it goes on for apple. Ballot of Paul Bunyan. Like, like, truly terrifying. Speaking of truly terrifying. We wanted to talk about Theresa's face. Oh, yes. Yes. When she when when Andy Cohen told us, the news of his upcoming baby. Yes. So excited. If flashes at one point we could find it on the internet, but it trees, it does a flashing of a face that is she just there's nothing at all. So all the g's like ni ni and Kyle. Everyone's so happy for Andy when he announces this and Theresa doesn't move a muscle over face. She's like. It's very terrifying. Let us to think, you know, Andy has a surrogate he's about to have a baby boy. And so we wanted to just put out into the world kind of an opportunity and indecent proposal. Someone say wanted to offer up our our bodies. So this one sandy for song. Me. I may be looking for mine. Maybe in your pants. Stay. We could be your babies. Next era gets. That's weird dumb. Don't have eggs laughed to you still come. Sweet. Mistake. Bruce. So maybe now. Family. Who will be? They're calling him. Gene. Mom. It's very confusing and actually quite sad will. Will make changes sees hat. It's. Maybe this. Won't you please bring us. Yes. Felt like a solid yet. I think. We will give this Andy's. Maybe when I steal him in midnight. Like, a dingo and take his baby. Let's take everyone who's here. Happy then we'll do the half and thirty seconds. Yes. You don't need any details. Any start? Hi. It's about Tom. So I have many mutual friends with Tom skirl friend. Lou am can you come right up to the they went to Tom's brother's wedding together. And she was wearing this high neck dress was a mid price point. I'd say she leaned over a table and it caught fire on a boat. This was also taking place in the pool room at the four seasons. If you're familiar with Bethany getting married. Question marks. So he paid in a bucket and Tom throws her in the pool. Throws cool. She comes out the entirely gone up Scott about second degree per sites. Leave the party. Okay. You can't your face. She smiling. The party and go. Trout hospital. No, good, his -partment and. Burns. Okay. Dress and they go back to the wedding and fish tonight. Thank you. When did this happen? Seven months ago. Wow, surprised nobody we didn't hear about this. This feels like a real daily news like headline this Countess in friends. She has made herself Coit a photo. I mean, you should see it in color. We have. It's beautiful. So I have this t shirt because I worked where Liu and does her cabarets this summer. Fifty four below the ass. And I was there for when her agent slash boyfriend and director decided to have an intervention with her to send her back to rehab. Fifty four. Intervention in a fucking Bauer because the night before she had gone on a bender because a drag Queen had gotten a standing ovation during her cabaret, and she was passed. Bongo's didn't get a standing. Bongos were not in the set at that time not at that juncture good. Thank you. Fifty four below for all of your intervention need. Over fifty four below. Hi, everyone. So our boots on the ground. Is we have met the unicorn that is Sonia. Morgan's daughter. True story. We spent many hours with her. So a coworker Vars we work at a popular digital media company and a coworker of ours was at an industry event and bumped into Sonia. And it's like, oh, by the way, I work for this company. And so when you have to her credit was saying that her daughter Quincy Adams Morgan would love to intern there. So we were like, let's Randy Adams as direct descendant of the atoms and the mortgages, and so we invited her for an immersion day to me to stop you. But do you think they're proud of Sonia? Just the end festers being. Listen Tang on the family name spreading it take losing teeth losing top. They're they're like we got the declaration of independence got zone. My. Quincy was quite proud of her mother, though, the no sign CHU is. She said zero disparaging or even like slightly sarcastic remarks about Hong right? A little too smart. She's like super hardworking, right? She just loved her Quincy couldn't care less about us. We spent about like an hour and a half with her trying to engage her about what we do. And she just was decked in head to toe says. Just living her best life Faldo on the gravy train? Yeah. Did she have on the family crest? Did not see the Sonia low. I I think it was early days early for that. Much. I'm glad she's alive. And well, I was starting to think she's like Shelly Miscavige just lost lost lost. Thank you. Like these. So I'm going to follow up on the Quincy Morgan very weird summer interning for Sonja Morgan. What are you give him? I never met pickles. Sadly. Never met pickles. But it was a weird time. I had a lot of weird tasks I was never quite sure. What was going on what an understatement? It was a weird time. The best of times. But she was amazing Justice funny as you would expect amazing. Nice friendly had a lot more money than you would expect like silence. What did you have to do? Oh who? One of the weirdest things. I did was I built a fence around her Koi pond in her garden because apparently several dogs and cats have died and said Koi pond when she's not home. So I built a fence around that sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. When she's out of town from I don't know about it. I thought you were gonna say the Koi were like. Apparently seven dying Ambien Hayes would eat the fish. I can't I have eaten meals out of her toaster-oven and. Gonna come to market. Never probably. But she was delayed a little we're paid. No, no, no. This. I'm I'm from like an hour away. And so I just would I found her Email on her website. And she just texted me. And it was like Hello come on this day from miss more. Like task crappy literally literally do you work for task, Greg? I might as well. Sorry a year. No a summer like a few days that we've. For hours. I am sorry. We'll just felt like going. I went. What did you say? I said whenever I felt like going. I went. Pretty kind of casual Friday over there. Very cat. Catch care is special about ten right only. Good things. That's really love me. Let's see show. Oh, yes. We have did you be pickles. That's for you questions. But I'm gonna let you go later. Thank you. Okay. Where do you to get on that pair? You're cute. Okay. This is a break boot right up to the I know is controversial. It's very positive. We didn't say tell us who killed themselves. Okay. I work with Leon Robinson. I love he's so going Jay. Ex husband. Talen mary. He's been married on video gorgeous love him. Okay. He's actually the sweetest person ever. So sweet so fucking hot. Oh my God. He's so gorgeous. So sweet love him. Great dad, the best ever you get something going. Get her out of the picture. Well, that's the other thing so humid, Cynthia never going to be. I know it's very. They're both very happy. And it's got. But just wanna let you know. He's an amazing. Thank you so much. Darkness to now. Try to fuck him though. What he said what he's? Hi, thank you question or my calling. So this is Ted talk. I'm like jersey throw foreign raised or from side Nyland. So like totally of that jersey stream. Anyway, he may in this morning. I texted my high school friend, turn carp? Who is Andy's right hand lady personal says stint, and I was like hey going to be a bitch suss tonight. If you're there love to see you hope all is well yet, blah, blah, blah. Yes. Yes. And she said won't be there. But I will be at Andy's baby shower thrown by all the housewives and let you know, how goes which obviously wanted my pants but also about Darren went to middle school with her close with her. You love Darren Darren type girl that would hide her homework. So that we all couldn't copy off of her. So thank you. Nice wants to anywhere. Weekly say that while I was waiting in the wings. I was looking at live from that baby shower, and fajor parks is in the house. Yes. And I heard that Daniel style was thrown out due to misunderstanding. That tracks that tracks land Lanta? Okay. I'm loving it so much there is what are you thinking about Atlanta think it's great. I mean, there's a a big empty space in my heart for both Kenya and fade DRA. I miss them. As my. Charade and give us what we needed from sharia last season. And that's her fault. She was too busy talking to that guy. Is this show is a bit later without? Ray remember, two seasons ago Schrage that was the charade that gave us everything that was on you. It's time to go. Yeah. A high now there's a fan. My favorites. Housewife of all time has been emerged this year. And her name is Porsche. That is someone who loves life. I love her. I walk across the room. I love her this season. So much fun. You pointed out the sales guy, just hells guys. Like, I cannot even be a part of. Menia really looking like Janice from the Muppets. She's really going through a hard time. Greg is at death's door. Like, we have to be happy. Oh, I'm sorry. That's too much. Use it a whole bucket screen presentation about a woman's face left. I say looks like a muppet and I'm God damn billon. Andrew you went far you went to fun. You do not talk about a woman muppet form. Needy. Goes completely crazy when they're in Tokyo. Yes. What's her name the Canadian girl girl Tanna her? The kitchen and her like her and tells I knew she had botchy broom. And I was like all aboard. She was like should we adjourn to the botchy? Ru. And I was like. I'll in there. Now you like Eva. No, I'm not crazy about it. You know? She wears tablecloth with a hole cut in the middle every episode and just plots it over her head, and I need like. Mike basis doing the work for me. And I'm like, let's do a little more beautiful. I what I do. Love though, is Porsche's imitation of Eva. It's like it was quick was like a few weeks ago. But she did it like the spot on vocal fry. It was amazing. You should check it out. And do that do it. You're not you're Porsches pregnant the hotdog king. Some of my show brought me a pickle. 'cause I said I want. Our it been with kings Porsche what the hotdog king. And of course, I'm Jay. King these very. Because she's hot dog king every episode. She's eating a hot dog. It's tough. It was really making me laugh when knee was talking about how much Porsches eating set it on the like. Nina's very disturbing. How much Porsches eating pregnancy? Not afraid to say it. Now, I also am loving Marlow and seeing her without any of her luggage. Without undergarments without makeup without. Plot. But we head. She was very upset beside her. So she was truly upset. I've never seen her like she looked like a like a flaccid penis girl. She looked like shell. She had been stripped. Yes, it was like a pack of newports. And that was. Yeah. Love marlow. She couldn't bring any pillows or picture frames where she she always brings an entire room with her. I can appreciate Marlow is kind of like the Danielle Staub in the sense of like she's got a danger element that the producers are like we want you around a ton. But we just can't make you full cast member go out and do press on behalf of. You can be on the show in some Indies baby shower, we love to have you. She's got a pay. I'm happy. Look, she looks great. But she does. She can be bit scary. Oh, yeah. Completely. But she gives us fashion. She gives us glamour. I'm all about her. I don't know if he was gonna stick around. I this season has not been kind to Eva bargin candies are demanding our home minibar. Yeah. She's like, I'm out of my minibar. Where's yours candy? I was like, oh, she was like my grandpa died. Give me your minibar. Like all right just down to the liquor store. Liquor store high. Thirty Wapping seconds. But I want to say that you closer helped me survive postpartum, anxiety Kudo said, Greg and his oath to Lou and shadow to any whispering leans here. Got. Feeling better. Thank you. Thank you believe anything, Lance. We should probably be wrapping up wrapping up. Okay. We're getting there. I'm liking Shinwari. Okay. I like Chamari. Sure, you don't like. Now. That's why I like her. I like her. Over here says she can't trust. It's not nineteen. What do you say? Come stand up stand up. Please. All right. All of that. She's making us all look bad. See you by girl. Thank you agree with that. But I go away. Mike. I'm. I'm. She was like, I don't know. You made a good point. I was like she made a good point. She is trusting like it's nineteen ninety nine. Maybe I've right up to date. I actually really did. Like when her husband thought, he was sitting down to film a nice scene in the yard with her. And she was like so that time we had a three seven and almost broke up our marriage. He was like. He had no idea that was coming off. Like, I've got a peach now. Talk about giving someone the shocker. No just with that comment. You just can't get enough of the show. But this. Like, a claw like. All right, guys. You know, we're getting to the end of our show. I know. Evening with eight. Guys, we have to 'cause I'm sure what's coming in after a movie. They're gonna show the favorite Danielle. We have something here. Okay. On time. Yeah. Hey, sorry. Sorry. Sorry. So I went to Puerto Vallarta on my bachelorette party and the first night we went there. We went to on lease and the OJ of the OC was there. What a wedding gift. I know. I couldn't even believe it. It was the best in my life. We did shots with her. We it up there. She hung out us all night. She was amazing. Her brother. Billy was there. On my friend was round there to now. No couple other people. I'm Billy Billy hit on all my friends exchange numbers with one of them. They texted for like weeks after never saw him again. We asked him a we asked Vicky if Brooks had cancer this was three years ago. She swore absolutely that he did. She wasn't speaking to any of the other women at the time. She John, but yeah, but she was lovely insurance. No. But she told us that she was trying to buy on lays. But there was like issues with the management that she was there hanging out. But she was trying to buy the bar. Thank you. So. Stickies gray person. Remember when Leslie Grossman called her and she answer from Cosco. But then I had another insurance agent like slip into my DM's. And was like that's bad insurance. Don't do it. So okay. Wow. Thank you for that. Last boots were very positive as it. Kind of we needed to cleanse the palate. We shared is loose one. That was fun. No, yes. Yes. I have okay. Watch me up sucks, though. I felt bad just saying out of the blue if you ever met, Jeff like all gay people know each other. Yeah. How and he engaged together. But I'm done with Jeff without giant. I'm not I'm at a surrogate about. Out never watch it again. True. He makes me fucking sick. Now. Not okay. Take it back down. Time to thing a song time to sing a song. Now. And you know, you were gonna sing this with us and last minute, you know, you cut in which we understood and luckily, we got someone fantastic to fill in for you. Yes. I have an under study that I often use that was available tonight. Yeah. So he's gonna he's gonna do it for me. Great. Let's please bring out to sing with us. My father Paul will. Wow. Wow.
