"That next show. It's you're the best stores morning sponsored by ram trucks spill to serve. It is friday the lakers with the blockbuster remove of the draft night reportedly acquiring russell westbrook from the wizards in return. Washington gets kyle. Kuzma mantras harrow. Pcp in the twenty second overall. Pick lebron james. Smith's her social media took to the gran posting this picture. The new big three brow brody braun the king in la times report said those three metres. Lebron's house go for weeks ago to discuss teaming up to win a tidal putting their egos aside brandon. You mentioned before might have been on the court from space jam where they had that meeting which we can. Now confirm if you look closely some hard hitting on first things first when we got to the bottom of that. So there's that like the lakers trading for russell westbrook yesterday. Listen i like it. What is not going to work. I like it because How aggressive lebron lakers are in this in this quest for another championship. Like if you gotta try you gotta fight. It's hard to win at the pro level and you got to be doing everything you can. Every single practice every single game every single off season to get better if you're staying the same. You're getting worse. So i like it. Because they're trying they're not content. They're not sitting there saying. Oh if when ab comeback healthy and then he get out of that rut that he was in because he is a superstar. He's a top five player when he gets there and then lebron comes back and he doesn't tweak his ankle to do don't just run into his ankle or we'll be fine. We'll be right back where we need to be because those two are exactly what we need. They'll get it done no. They're not saying they're saying okay. We're seeing what the other guys around the league or and let's make sure that we're staying competitive. And that maybe not even competitive even in his discussion when it comes to how you notice quest for another championship but i don't like it for this reason. This is why. I say that is not gonna work. It's not gonna work because you got lebron. Lebron is a point guard. He wants the ball in his hand. He wanted to be able to do this right here. Okay you go over there. This announced back up. Oh oh he's open he wants to dictate everything he he moves. He makes everybody movie. Get everybody involved and it works. Russell westbrook without the ball in his hands. It doesn't work. He plays out a different speed. He is he's bald dominant. Which everybody's gonna be talking about today but wh- there we need to look at as they tried to put russell westbrook in a different space with the houston rockets. It didn't work chris. So who's wanna make the sacrifice. How's this going to complement each other. It worked in in brooklyn because those guys were able to do other things offensively and move without the ball russell. Westbrook knees the ball in his hand. Now he's a beast he's gonna go down as the goat because of what he's doing with rounds told triple doubles this stuff but at the end of the day. He's the ball. Unlike brandon marshall outta like anything that doesn't work are you're saying this it you like it but it's not gonna work. What would we they plan for division. Titles now they're playing for the delayed. Sit the pieces don't fit. It's as simple as that now. I'll give them a punchers chance because lebron james is brilliant and maybe can figure this out. The talent is great all that but the pieces don't fit you. Look lebron with all this big. Three's the third guys had the backup and really sacrifice. Chris bosh miami kevin love in cleveland. Who's doing that this crew. Now it can be anthony davis because they need him to play the mvp level to chance to win the championship right. It can't be russell westbrook because russell westbrook is not russell westbrook. What's the point. I should've win. got somebody else. Be the guy that israel is with brian. james which sounds crazy. But here's what i think. They gotta do luke bryan. You're the point guard. Russ you to the ball. When lebron's on the bitch you'll be at a it'll be your show with the second unit. Russ you can push the ball in transition. You can do your thing but in the half court sets running our office making our decisions. It's lebron james and we're russ's off the ball drive and slash when you get the past. Don't just shoot a three pointer lebron's brownies to look at himself as the third scoring option. His job is to be magic johnson. Make sure the anthony david a russell westbrook eat and lebron get his twenty plus points. Because he's that good just by being out on the floor but those two needs to be the first options that's their only chance of winning it all. I don't really like it. I think is a huge chemistry experiment. But i'll give him a punchers chance. Yeah i'm worried about three. Things are sharing shooting and spacing. First of all we talk about. Sharing russ was the guy. Bring up the court the ball up the court all last year. Guess who else likes to bring up the ball. The court labron russ was number one. Lebron was thirteen so somehow they got to figure it out if ross is not bringing the ball up like you said that's what he wants to do. That's what he's the best at doing so they got to figure that out. The second one is shooting. The lakers weren't good shooting team. Last year they were tenth. Worse than shooting from three. Ross is the worst high volume three point shooter of all time pretty bad last year as well and the last one to me. This is really interesting and shadow to tom. Habits throw for bringing up this clip spacing. This is how the lakers played the rockets when hardened roster on the floor will double harden let rush shoot so the lakers know what russ's achilles heel is. Now they're going to be victims of their own game plan so if they can somehow solve the spacing issue i'll give them more than a punchers chance maybe russ abandons those shots totally just drives the who but then again you got a good speech spacing bizarre and hope that a out there because russ legs clear lanes which is why. He excelled when capella was out. So maybe it'll work. I'll give them more than punchers chance. Then you start a lotta people are saying. Oh they're gonna be miami. David phys dell's on the coaches staff. Da couldn't shoot but it was a different nba back. There to three pointer wasn't is lebron was in his athletic prime i. It was a different team. They had shooters around. Knows to as well with the lakers or not as many visits to stop three guys only played together in eight regular season games. Tweet concerned executive christopher star this week much appreciate. It have a great weekend. We'll see back your monday morning..

"How comfortable he was. Why everybody's so uncomfortable when the player start getting a little bit a little bit more power. That's what we are seeing here. There is a shift inc in power. That's what we're going back to last year man. I'm not going to go into all the bad stuff. I because i truly believe it's the good thing and i think it was wild or maybe it was joy yesterday to say. Look it's it's the one percent of the one percent. There's a couple of guys out there that should have a seat at the table that say look jay. Kuma rules my guy. I like jay oumarou. We can get done together. I don't care what you think. But that is my. I'm the one out here that got to get the job done. Y'all can do everything you want in a board room. Y'all can do anything. You went in the draft when we get on his phil. You gotta be able to listen to me. Because i see things differently than you guys see. I'm right here so when you take j. coomer by and you don't talk to them. That's a problem. And the same thing. Jordy nelson the same thing with james jones. The same thing with randall. Cobb now randall. 'cause back so you can you see that. He was uncomfortable. Talking about oh. I don't think aaron rodgers understood. You know why. We made some of those moves. May we gotta do a better job explaining. That's basically what he said. Nobody aaron rodgers is saying is the moves who made was terrible moves. Who made made no sense so now. If you don't listen to me i'm gonna be out there right. That's what he's saying. So now it's on air. Rogers in ron randell. Call to go out there and get the job done. So doesn't blow up in their face and people like well our air you ask for this but you guys aren't getting the job done randall. Cobb isn't helping you out randall. Visit making your team better. So i think it's now the pressure's on aaron rodgers. And if he delivers he's not only going to put himself in a better position. But he's gonna put other quarterbacks like russell wilson other quarterbacks like josh allen and better position because of what he the success. He's going to have we saw with tom. Brady so would they gotta do is on third down the tight rid. You know situation. Football is when he has to thrive randall. Cobb is not gonna come in and have a thousand yards. Randall cobb well maybe he could potentially two thousand fourteen twelve hundred air rogers. But don't expect that. Don't expect randall cobb. To come in and light it up. What you need to see is in this in in the toughest moments. That tight windows will randall. Cobb come in and deliver. That's what we need to see all right. So my take away was different brandon. Might take away was that we applauded. Aaron rodgers for transparency but oddly. I am not going to applaud brian. Guten coups for transparency because he was very transparent about two things one. He did not relinquish control. He's still controls. The situation to other really want random rob on the team if it was up to him rental common the squad so yeah transparent great for the players but if you're in the management you know we should do manage buddy it's called management. It's a noun verb. You gotta manage manage the message. So here's what you can. Do you relinquishing control. I don't even view it like that. I don't view it like that question. I don't view it about who has control. I'm laser focused on winning. And you know who else is. Aaron rodgers randall. Cobb so the fact that we're all laser focused on winning. That's the only thing i'm concerned about instead. Relinquish control yeah rail cops here erin is important. You like well you know i. It was important to me. And i have all the control of you. Brought him in already aged for juilliard. Ask meryl streep performance stars. I am asking to manage a message to the media and to your own players in other management that you're working with an overall. I am not warning in the academy award or for management or acting. I'm with their while. Look i'm gonna say bryant guten kuhn's one time henceforth. He is known as gucci. All right. i'm calling his argument to say. Hey sign that man. Randall visit hardy. You waiting on waiting on air. Rodgers hand and foot for the rest of disease was going to make my job hard. That's what he really wanted to say. All jokes aside i actually. I think you're right while he was being honest and transparent and i'd get worries come from no air. Rogers is not running the show are. He's not making all the personnel decisions. I don't think that's what rogers once i think. What rod this situation is rodgers. Now his opinion is being value. They're coming to him to hear what he think about this player you you know. What do you think about this receiver. What we we are listening to your opinion. You now have input. It should've been that way from day. One or at least at least once. He became an all pro. Quarterback is should've been that way for years with aaron rodgers. now it is and this is a good thing. What really makes guten clues job. Hard is that he. It's all out in the media as the primary reason that aaron rodgers doesn't like the green bay packers organization. That's what makes his job. Is that all the guy. Pressure is now on him. So other than that. I think he was being honest and transparent. You're right wilder doesn't play that well in the media but yeah it's now there's a little bit give and take with aaron rodgers and i think this is healthy. It should always been this way rightfully so guys look. That's my job is to go back and pull on my experience. You know playing in the league right. I go back to chicago. And we had Jay cutler but before i even got this call. I'm sitting there. I'm sitting down here in miami florida plan for the dolphins. We weren't doing well. We were terrible. And i was looking at this icago beers play sunday night football and native. Were doing well. And they were terrible. And they're not called jay cutler after the game because he just got sacked like seven eight times. I'm talking about bruises all over the place. I'm like buddy man. I miss you from our our denver. Bronco days man. I'm just calling just to say. I miss you. I love you and also man just hanging out. That was a tough game. There's nothing you can do. You had no time. And then also the mike marsh system they have. You dropped back seven steps with that type of office is it's not gonna work. Just hang in there man just hanging. We all see the world series where happened. After that year jay cutler went to management said. I need x. receiver. Oh they said okay. Day what x. Received want in the draft. Who who's out there free agency as he said no. I don't need any of those x. Receivers i need my guy brandon. Marshall what he do that's that feel emory and company came and got me then. They went and got martellus bennett. Then they went and also jeopardy listen to jay cutler in they wanted him to have the table when it came to the draft. They brought an also. Jeffrey and then they pay matt forte. And what happened. They became the number. we became the number one chicago. Bears offense in the history of the organization. Why because they listened to their quarterback. Now obviously we're not aaron rodgers. Tom brady we didn't win a championship. Do anything like that. But when you have a franchise quarterback you have a face of the franchise a guy that you're paying millions of dollars you better listen. And so that's just one example. But it happens throughout the entire league. With some of our league's best especially at the quarterback.

"Can't possibly work. Somebody's going to have to you know sacrifice like way james heart was trying to sacrifice with the nets. I don't know who that is but you have. Ad anthony davis who in his prime. You are going to as anthony davis now. Okay give the ball up your phone. A guy that can be league. Mvp tonight you're just a guy. Are you gonna say russell westbrook. We're bringing you here. We're gonna put you in a in the same situation that we put they put you in a houston. No it's not happening. lebron james. He's the king. We know about his decision. Making we know how awesome he is getting everybody involved. So now you're gonna say is lebron. James will sit back and say okay. This is the year where i sit back and now more of that leader. We talked about this when they were leaving a bubble as the rainy chance. We talked about that. I just think it's wide open. There's too many variables in the situation out in the west. There's a couple of names you need to. You need to go out there. Klay thompson daimler. Where's willard going to go. Who's going to come play with daimler if he choose this day so it's wide open right now. We need more time brandon. You've just spent five minutes talking not answering the question. I'm not gonna bail like some people on this. I i say this with no confidence whatsoever. I know not a lot of trouble. The phoenix the phoenix suns. Who is right. This thing is why. I'm gonna go with lean because they're going to be better from the assuming neighboring bankers paul. They're going to be better from what they learned in the championship in the finals. We know they're well coached davalos. Better the de'andre eight. It'll be better. Their role players will be better. You know hopefully chris. Paul could stay healthy on vegan. Diet so i think that should help. But don't ask c. There's no world-beater out. There actually liked darris. I think lewis shit. I think luka. I think lucas really dallas a contender I like golden state Utah denver portland. Are dato scare anybody. You know there okay is. Litter was held the go with the clintons. And i say with confidence to but we don't know i don't i doubt he'll play next year even if he comes back in march or april regains. Warren quickly. I go with the clippers. But i'm gonna say this sons with a whole lot of trouble okay. So far named almost every team. So we've got a hit on one of the team. We've just got chips on every on every number saw right. Parties gave healdsburg brandon's lunch. Money brandon was the son guy all year for start chasing him off the ongoing sons brandon. I don't know jeeze go warriors. I'll go with the warriors. And here's why. Oh i like it steph. Obviously it'll be great play in the olympics. He's gonna come back in shape. I don't think he's gonna wear down if he's going to get better. We play is gonna come back after rest and he's been kayaking so much out on the bay he's going to be in shape rating knockdowns shots. Now the question is who is the fourth person on that spot is gonna be bradley. Beal he said he doesn't wanna leave. The wizard is gonna be dame. I'm not sure is going to be ben simmons. They just turned down. This big ben simmons deal but at least we know they're talking so i think the warriors are so aggressive. There's enough smoke there that eventually they'll make a move and will not only be the big everyone else. Is the big green lakers. The nets is gonna roll out there with a big four. So i'm gonna go with the words. Gem big four officially hit. Every team again lakers though right now. He laid it all out. Well yesterday it was gm. Brian goodman goons has turned to answer questions explaining his person. Who of why. The packers went and got randall. Cobb take listen really just here to make aaron primarily the i think that's a big part of it. I think it's a big you know. Obviously without aaron. I don't think we would probably pursuing that Reynolds stole really good player Seeing him last night just kind of reminded what an impact lavon our locker room for our football team but You know this is a. This is a very important thing for aaron and that's why we did it right. Was it difficult over. The course of the season for you to relinquish some of this personnel decision making control and says look this literally just finding incorporated and maybe errands thoughts and make it. There's plenty of why we're think that's been part of the things that he's got some agreements on. Maybe it doesn't understand exactly why we did what we did and we. You probably didn't communicate that. Well i guess the reason. I ask that is because he said reynolds here to to make him happy player. That might be here if not sure it so i wanna say relinquish control like that. Does that make your job anything hard. Yeah i mean. I mean there's lots of things my job harder and certainly What at the same time. This is kind of unique player and a unique unique circumstance there. What we're trying to accomplish packers camp. "Himself about the dissolving relationship between him and the green bay packers management. Rogers said he wanted more say in decisions about the offense. He said he didn't want to be a lame duck quarterback he said quote if he can't commit to me pass twenty twenty one go ahead and make a change on quote. He said he wanted to recruit free agency listed about ten former teammates. Who he said. The packers got rid of the bothered him. He said they were high character. Locker room guys. He said the packers ultimately threw money at him. But that wasn't the point and finally rogers said quote. I know i can still play. I wanna play. I'm not a victim here at all unquote public. Do you think roger's can flourish in green bay being this angry tony. I love that you are asking me this question because you have been motivated by spite and have flourished for decades now so no. I'm just gonna work in your case in. Aaron rodgers is casey when an mvp feeling all of these ways right like this is something that i think is going to be increasingly angry. Aaron rodgers is going to be infuriating to him because look he's going to flourish. And what does that mean. It means that the packers are going to get a ransom. They're gonna get a hall in exchange for him when they try and trade him. After the season and in the meantime aaron rodgers knows that because he showed up and because he's gonna play this season he doesn't have many moves to make here. He's going to be a really good quarterback and they're going to do exactly what they wanted to do the entire time his employers that is this entire tot. I love the fact that you're looking down the road on this season. I'm going to concentrate right now on. What a wow. It was to see. Aaron rodgers and here aaron rodgers. Say these things. I did not expect this at all. I thought he would be typically coy and mysterious and hazy and sort of superior and he was not and i took notes on this okay. He was specific he was angry. He was methodical and pablo. This was the pain of years. This wasn't just as he said a draft decision a couple of years ago i mean he sat there and he said i'm quoting now. Green bay is not a vacation spot. People are coming here to play with me. And he said. I offered to help recruit them and the packers didn't want any part of this. He listed these guys name by name by name that he thought the packers dealt with shabby manner and he knew was. He was doing this that he was speaking directly to coach. And the general manager and the president of that team and he made it very clear he hated them. And i have to tell you pablo and thank you for saying this as someone myself driven by spite and anger my whole life. I thought he was a working class hero. And i wanted to sit there and applaud. I did well. Here's where. I began to boo a little bit because i loved everything that he gave us. In terms of the honesty and the bluntness. The thing i didn't love and this sort of feels like a window to look into the future again into how he's going to pivot here. He blamed the media for making up all of these stories that he thought were unfair. Because you'd have anything to talk about. He basically called us giraldo. Tony here are here. We are in front of the vault but inside the volt in turned out. Was this press conference in everything. All of the animosity the animists. Despite its in there and it's real. And that's why this is going to be so fun for me so a geraldo rivera reference. Very good for me. Very good. Because i remember geraldo well on channel. Seven in new york. Let me get to what. I think he really did. I think he directed his comments at his teammates. His teammates have to love him that is his constituency. He said i'm labor. I'm not management. I don't care about their money. I thought he was playing teammates. Gone and teammates present. I thought that they thought he won the locker room. And i think for a player in any sport. That's the most important thing. I don't think a player can say of aaron rodgers. Oh he thinks because he makes all this money. He's better than us than us. I didn't get that sense at all. I mean i think honestly that players particularly in football they wanna save these things they want to say management things that can pay us and then treated shabbily and they're afraid aaron rodgers not afraid not afraid no he won the locker room. I think is well. He won the right to randall. Cobb again because that trade just went through for a sixth rounder. The question i have. Tony is whether the stuff i just listed. Is that enough to make him realistically do anything. Other than fuel. Another new cycle as the season progresses. I feel like we're going to do all of this. Tony the same exact conversation. We're going to have it like next spring once again but now for today's drama in college football because just one month ago tony. Sec boss. Greg sankey was hailed by other conferences for what appeared to be is inclusive effort to expand the college football playoff to twelve teams. But now that the. Sec is on the verge of adding texas and oklahoma. Something sankey was just trying to create playoffs space for more sec teams. The athletic reports that other conferences are reconsidering the expansion as a result. The you think they'll punish sankey and the sec. Binoche going through with it. Tony so i wanted to try to understand this question. Are you asking me that. Because they're mad at the. Acc other conferences gone to limit sec. The amid at the other conferences are going to limit how much money is going to be out of here all of them on the table. That's costs they. Don't like the scc because the sec is smarter and better than they are because they feel the big twelve feelings were hurt well without texas and oklahoma there is no big twelve. They don't matter at all. What do they bring to the table. Then he bring west virginia the. Sec is by far the best football conference and has been for years and now it is even better most of these conference commissioners who are very highly paid and overpaid. I would say if they are actually going to limit the amount of teams in the playoff which will necessarily limit the amount of money. They're going to get if they do that. They should be fired immediately immediately. Yeah bob bulls be. Who is the commissioner of the big twelve one of the great names in human history given his profession that guide. Tony had no idea. Greg sankey was plotting this while they were in discussions as recently as weeks ago. So i understand why bob bulls. He feels like he needs to stop his feet and threaten to derail the money train for everybody because that guy had his lunch taken from him. No way around that but you are absolutely right. Insofar as everybody. I think also realizes the status quo financially is not going to work for everybody else. That is not the. Sec weirdly is the best position big picture of anybody. Everyone else needs to eat off of their plate. And the way you do that necessarily involves a twelve team playoff so again and again and again conferences are done. The ncaa is meaning goes. There's going to be one giant conference with between forty and sixty schools. It's gonna be subdivided geographically. It's going to be a cash cow. Can i make myself any clearer. I'm more in the end of conferences. You know i loved conferences. But you know what. I'm more in the end of the times when i used to have to get up to change the channel but i've adjusted i've adjusted the seattle mariners traded their top reliever kendall graven to the houston astros. These teams are division rivals. Seattle is.

His <Speech_Music_Male> old teammate randall. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> Cobb there's <Speech_Music_Male> moments ago tweeted. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> i'm coming home. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> They played <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> together for eight years <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> in green <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> bay. And <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> who knows if <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> one of the concessions <Speech_Music_Male> that the packers <Speech_Music_Male> may have made to <Speech_Music_Male> just was giving him <Speech_Music_Male> some more say <Speech_Music_Male> in personnel decisions <Speech_Male> like bringing <Speech_Male> him back <Speech_Male> here in the general manager. <Speech_Male> Brian gouda kunst addressed <Speech_Male> the media just <Speech_Male> moments ago. We're <Speech_Male> trying to get some of that. <Speech_Male> Sound turned <Speech_Male> around for you but quickly. <Speech_Male> Marcus <Speech_Male> avenue c <Speech_Male> randall. Cobb <Speech_Male> coming back. What does it <Speech_Male> make you. Think <SpeakerChange> about with <Speech_Male> aaron rodgers in green <Speech_Male> bay. Do you <Speech_Male> say who knows <Speech_Male> we know. Dammit <Speech_Male> he <Speech_Male> gm <Speech_Male> they are <Speech_Male> going to do what air <Speech_Male> rogers says <Speech_Male> needs to be done <Speech_Male> and this randall. <Speech_Male> Cobb <Speech_Male> acquisition is another <Speech_Male> example <Speech_Male> of what we <Speech_Male> were talking about earlier <Speech_Male> era. Rogers <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> did not <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> come back to the green <Speech_Music_Male> bay packers because <Speech_Music_Male> he eh change on. <Speech_Music_Male> He came back to <Speech_Music_Male> the green bay packers because <Speech_Music_Male> he the president hone <Speech_Music_Male> in general manager <Speech_Music_Male> of green bay. Packers <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> when you run <Speech_Music_Male> an organization <Speech_Music_Male> you gotta show up to <Speech_Music_Male> work. And that's <Speech_Music_Male> what aaron rodgers is doing. <Speech_Music_Male> He's got another <Speech_Music_Male> weapon <Speech_Music_Male> in randall. Cobb <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> as well. Cobb is <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> not the guy he used <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> to be. But you <Speech_Music_Male> put him outside <Speech_Music_Male> with devante <Speech_Music_Male> and you tanya who <Speech_Music_Male> played well last year <Speech_Music_Male> tight in he <Speech_Music_Male> can absolutely <Speech_Music_Male> make some noise and help <Speech_Music_Male> this offense <Speech_Music_Male> wonder what that means <Speech_Music_Male> lazard and valdez <Speech_Music_Male> scanlon. But we'll <Speech_Music_Male> see to be to <Speech_Music_Male> be determined but the <Speech_Music_Male> bottom line is <Speech_Music_Male> the bigger part <Speech_Music_Male> of this story is <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> air raja's <Speech_Music_Male> came back because <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> they made him the damn <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> gm <SpeakerChange> and <Speech_Music_Male> the owner or the green <Speech_Music_Male> bay packers <Speech_Music_Male> well. Let's hear from the gm. <Speech_Music_Male> I'm told that we <Speech_Music_Male> do have it. "Is going to send all four of its team to the playoffs. Kimberly i'm starting with you. Which divisions are going to be. This is a tough one. I'm gonna go. Nfc west because we don't seem to be talking about the forty niners and the seahawks look at that division the rams everybody's pencilling them into the super bowl. The cardinals are the one team that you could say. I don't know we need to see more from the cardinals but overall team the team had to be the nfc west right guys. They've added a aj green in arizona as well and jj defensive side. Jeff saturday which divisions gonna do. I agree with kimberly look. Nfc west when you look at the division as a whole. Have probably the four best quarterback in in one division. You look at all these all. These guys could potentially lead their teams to play offs and victories in the playoffs. If you're going to pick one division that you would ride with you for these guys and these teams head coaches honestly. So as i'm going for this. I'm going to see west true for to show. Where do you go. i'm gonna hitch with some of that rare genius i'm going. Afc north check me out. Three teams already did it last year. The browns the steelers. The ravens already made it to the playoffs last year. All we gotta work on the bengals. And i i'm not. I'm not a bagels defender. I'm not going to say that. But they already had three teams. That did it. they got jomar chase. They have some offensive line. Help maybe the bengals can speak in there. But i'm going. Afc north. I looking at the look on marcus spears face it's making kind of swagger which division how you picking might not win the damn and division. I'm with him in in just saturday. The nfc west. And i could see. And i think my reason is these guys could split each division game. They could go one in one hits each other in their division because we don't know like college taking a step forward san francisco. Being happy messed up. I mean healthy. Man staffer being in l. a. And obviously we know russ is going to give us a chance to win every game. The nfc west makes the most sense and remember. We got seventeen games this year. These teams out divisions should do very well against their opponents as well. So that's how i look at it. I look at them just splitting games in this division as opposed to somebody dominating it like in other divisions potentially once again to touch. Oh i appreciate your genius. And you and i and our purple coast member as being right all right. We continue here. I want to remind everybody we got baseball coming your way tonight. Gain two of a three-game set yankees and raise at seven eastern here on espn and you can watch on the espn app. One app one tap as we continue next. Texas and oklahoma have officially taken. Another step towards the sec. And.

"And he wanted to go and robert kraft. Actual owner of the team was in favor of giving tom the opportunity go elsewhere. He said i he deserves it right. He's been such a good player for us. He deserves to go on. I think as you look exactly as what aaron rodgers did he just kinda followed that map in that progression. Listen when you have that type of power when you can go in and command. Say listen. I'm done with this organization. I mean they're not gonna play and you force their hand. I think it shows the ability of this point only a few players. But here's the kicker green bay. I think did it early before camp even started because i think they they have the hope of restoring this relationship in the only way to restore. It was to extend some type of olive branch. We all ask. What does aaron. What kimberly wrote a letter about what is really what i think. Green bay gave him what he wanted. And now this is going to be the start of a conversation of. Hey aaron what can we do and let me say this. They win the super bowl. I can guarantee you those two sides come together to do they been in to see. Jp jamie should games if they get a third. You're talking about buffalo bills type dynasty way back in the day. Will you get there. What they're doing is not unprecedented. But it's pretty freaking close so i liked. What green bay did. Kimberly brought up an interesting point though earlier this morning. That sometimes if you look at some other players in the nfl that we think to be very high profile. Who would seem to have a lot of russell. Wilson had his thing. This off season. Couldn't get out to shawn watson. We know the circumstances of change but before all of these allegations came out he wanted out and it didn't look like the taxes are willing to trade him. What are you hearing from people. You talked to inside the sport about the concern on the part of front offices that players might start doing exactly what mark is saying. I think we're seeing it. I think they know it's probably coming more guys but again you've got.

"For the Packers. I'll always remember my draft a phone call. He asked me if I'd have his back and I responded was saying not only his back, but Aaron Rodgers back too. Hash tag. Our I P hashtag. Thank you, Ted. This one was tweeted out by Randall Cobb. I'm heartbroken by the news of Ted Thompson. I'll forever be grateful for him believing in me, hashtag win it for Ted. A couple more here. Brett Farve is weighing in today. Also Brett Farve Ah telling Lance Allen of TMJ four sad news of the passing of Ted Today, Ted was a friend and should be remembered is a very important piece to the Packers present a success interesting coming from bread fire because, of course. Had drafted Aaron Rodgers and wept. Brett Farve got pushed out and then this one, Charles Woodson. Once upon a time in 2006. I was a free agent and one team took a shot on me orchestrated by Ted Thompson. Thanks for bringing in this washed up player and giving me a chance to play in the green and gold. This is quite a loss for Packer Nation, Greg. Yeah, it really is. And you reflect on some of the incredible players he brought to Green Bay. He had a style and not everybody agreed with it. But it was his style. It was his way. And if you look at the roster today, John and the team that's one win away from the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers, Mason Crosby, Davante Adams, David Bachtiar E Corry, Lindsley. Kenny Clarke and Aaron Jones. While Thompson draft picks on Lee Rogers and Clark were first rounders. All those other guys were drafted in the second round or later. That is, It's remarkable, remarkable again hits and misses that done every Yep, any general managers ledger, but You got the quarterback position right? And that's not easy to do in the NFL, and he's secured the future for Green Bay for nearly two decades. In his first pick, ever. It was Erin Runnion. Talk about guts. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, You got that right. 3 14 wtmj much more on Ted Thompson as we head through the afternoon, much more on sports in the world of sports with Greg up next Hi, folks..

"Watch all three hours coming up the great voice of Sunday night football al Michaels will also talk to the former Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert and Bryan Cranston who was Walter white in breaking bad will join us coming up as well come up with a poll question got a play of the day a stat of the day or two but we start with UFC two forty nine after holding out as long as they could you have C. two forty nine is been canceled for this weekend UFC president Dana white said it wasn't his decision this one up the totem pole Disney and ESPN they're in business with UFC they decided to pull the plug also yeah the governor of California you also probably was the one who kickstarted this Dana white is always been aggressive in your face that styles made him a lot of money and grow new support to incredible heights but it's an attitude that's not playing well right now I'm sure MMA fans would be thrilled to watch an event right now I don't even follow the sport and I'd be thrilled to watch a live sporting event but safety is paramount here whether you're on a island or an Indian reservation or wherever he was going to be able to hold this and I still think eventually they're going to be holding some events here soon but like the UFC the NFL is used to doing what it wants to do in this case it's probably okay because the draft is being held virtually but sports leagues in general are going to have to wake up to a new reality whether we like it or not the old way of doing things is changed at least for now but that means even Dana white web to be patient that's something he is not very good at and a lot of these commissioners arc and fans art and cultures aren't and athletes are but it said the new normal as we like to say and U. F. C. two forty nine is not going to go on as scheduled here's Dana white talking about it who told him that he can't hold this of event today we got a call from the highest level you can go at Disney and the highest level of of ESPN and the powers that be there asked me to stand down and not do this event next Saturday ask him I may have told him to stand down but look at semantics I used to work there I don't think they ask they sort of tell you here is Dana white talking about the sport and when he thinks it'll be back all of my employees nobody's getting laid off of the UFC everybody's good we will be the first Sportback fight island is real it's a real thing the infrastructure is being built right now and that's really going to happen and it will be on ESPN I don't know if it'll be something greater the fire festival I got I think I don't know because it can't be somewhere in between I think it's either going to be great successful I gotta get Jeff Probst to host this right fight island Joe Rogan hosting in fight welcome to fight island our goal here yeah and I think it could work and I couldn't how many nearly pulled this off then maybe they are the first four to come back I would have thought golf would be but maybe this is the first sport to come back right a couple of the things the rams but I had gotten wind of this I probably three weeks ago maybe I don't even know the time frame anymore maybe a month ago that they were going to unload Todd Gurley and Brandin cooks well they got girly to go to Atlanta and we got Brandin cooks now with the Texans so that I'm looking at the Texans and what they're doing and look I know nobody is on bill o'brien side with what he's done after de Andre Hopkins some of the other moves that he's made but I will say if he gets this right is anybody going to giving credit as he traded the Andre Hopkins who from what I was told by a source they were trading him this offseason because the Andre Hopkins wanted eighteen to twenty million dollars and bill o'brien I think had run out of patience with dealing with the Andre Hopkins this is just from what I was told they were trading at now I would have thought you could have gotten something like a first round draft pick in return but you didn't Brandin cooks you take him it was the rams made a mistake I think if you look at the money they paid him Brandon cooks at a pretty good track record because he is one of six players in NFL history to have one thousand yard receiving seasons for three different teams so the saints patriots and rams but I feel like he's on a concussion away from really putting his career in jeopardy at times she can be a wonderful player he wasn't that great last season with the rams had one of the biggest decreases in number of yards from one season to the next he went from twelve hundred yards down to five eighty three but now you go to the Texans she got Randall Cobb in will fuller okay but you lose the Andre Hopkins and you don't get a first round draft pick in return because if you didn't get that now all of a sudden you're going you could get a great wide receiver then I don't need to do this with Brandin cooks or I don't need to spend that money with Randall Cobb but they didn't and yeah I'm not sure what the ribbon you know the rams need to get rid of him but he he's going to cost them about twenty one million dollars in dead cap money it was just it didn't work out they went all in to win the Superbowl and they're paying the price literally paying the price for that and they take a couple steps back because you got the Niners now class of the division Seattle's better than the rams in Arizona's coming I mean you put fitzgerald in Hopkins in there and Kyler had a great year kind of a under the radar here near big make some smart moves here coming up Arizona is on your heels here when the rams now you gotta decide who are we what are we because you got a quarterback are you all in on Jared Goff being your franchise quarterback you're paying him but what kind of what kind of team do you have here and now you get Brandin cooks to the Texans maybe the tech I look at bill o'brien and I say I don't think he's a very good GM and because of that he might not be a good coach because of the moves he makes as a general manager it feels like he over pays for a lot of things or doesn't get value in return but he does win his division and he's one of those guys like Jason Garrett you win just enough for you to go camp for bill o'brien I think has won his division all but one year that he's been there I think he's been there six years yeah Paul is there any chance bill o'brien knows what he's doing I can hear from now with us okay he he has to know what he's doing right because he was with the patriots and everybody who was with the patriots is smarter than everybody else well that's right they're not when they leave I'm I I just don't know what he's doing is a G. I don't want my coach to be if you I I don't but I think that's part of the problem with you know he's coaching what he's also making decisions on and and that would that would make me nervous here Hey Sean Salisbury a good friend of the show who live lives and works in Houston bill o'brien has become the fire hydrant of the NFL unless he unless he somehow pulls this off but I I saw that move I wasn't surprised Brandin cooks was traded I'm always curious about what are you getting in return you get a second round pick in return okay but that was a move that was a financial move and now the Texans we're going to be paying that contract as well you're basically gonna have to pay deshaun Watson at least thirty five million dollars a year and then that's going to get interesting as well because they don't have the benefit of Kansas state what Kansas city has cancer city hasn't paid Patrick Mahomes they won a Superbowl and you still have the skill position players it's when you pay Patrick Mahomes that's when you're going to start to lose players you know the beauty of having a rookie contract on your quarterback he is you get a window of opportunity and that's why did the bears haven't capitalized on the window of opportunity with Mitchell Trubisky the giants with Daniel Jones can you capitalize on the window of opportunity Arizona with Kyler Murray is Browns with Baker Mayfield you know the window.

"We arrange baby. New tobacco will be joining us in forty five minutes from now new Baca. Thank you got. Imagine that there were a lot of people given what the Kentucky Derby is given that it is the place where Tom Brady and his frat boy show off Aaron Rodgers shows up. It is a party, and it's an unusual party in two thousand nineteen have you ever tried mint? Juleps? No don't. So the Kentucky Derby is festive and fun and great. And what I want to ask you is how many people because they were just sort of there, and they don't know the intricacies of sports of horse racing. And they're not sitting there doing the degenerates and Mike francesa saying look when that horse's weaving all over the place. You can't you can't do that. That's not allowed. How many people do you think tore up winning tickets like what was the what was the time that passed between the end of that race and the disqualification and what do? Think that people who are there for the party that a lot of people tore up winning tickets, if they had maximum security because that was that was the favorite if you have the other horse who actually ended up winning with those odds, you probably held onto the ticket just to see what was going to happen there. Right. I don't think. So I don't know. I wonder horse races over do you expect the Kentucky Derby to reverse a ruling do you expect the u usually sport Anton's when something when a racist over? That's it. There's not a D Q afterward that that changes the result. I like to describe myself as a casual sports better. However, I will take a flyer on a horse. If I hear somebody has a good feeling, and I wouldn't have known as soon as that race ended to just make sure to hold onto my ticket. One of the more satisfying things to do when you lose a bed his terrapin ticket because at least you get some sort of a motion, but how quickly did they go to the stewards like how quickly did we know? And we still doing it just with. Tickets like if you play your bed is the someone have that are you are you doing the wrong things in two thousand and nineteen as a sport. When you're championship is being decided by going to the stuarts. I never have disqualifications like that's very rare. But there are often objections in a race where it's the race ends. And then they see objection, but I get your point on a Kentucky Derby day. There's so many casual betters that a lot of people might not know about objections. If you go and bet a lot if you see objection, you know, to horror people who know what they're doing aren't ripping up any. There's definitely were with all the betters. That are betting on the Kentucky Derby, casual betters. There had to be some people that threw away winning right? Randall Cobb is there with Aaron Rodgers rent Randall Cobb is there is there a voice over PA. That says, hey, don't tear up your tickets just yet because they're going to stewards because I'm pretty sure Randall Cobb Seren of his stick. If he doesn't have that. There wasn't announcement that there's an objection. So they do say hold onto all takes you guys you remember couple years ago. Oh, west Welker one bunch of money and was just giving it out at the Kentucky Derby, you think that west welter so deep into those mint juleps waiting around for. Hey, we got a check with the stewards. First of all, I. Stewart here. Accrue now out proclaimed horse racing dead because of because of a triple crown winner. But controversy is good for sports controversy is something that sells and get your attention. When a race is one and you watch it being one. And then you're told that the the the horse you thought one didn't win. It gets people talking about something they otherwise wouldn't have been talking about if it had just gone as planned your take. When you're championship is being decided by going to the stewards. They never have disqualifications like that's very rare. But there are often. Objections in a race where it's the race ends. And then they you see objection, but I get your point on a Kentucky Derby day. There's so many casual betters that a lot of people might not know about objections. If you go and bed a lot if you see objection, you know, to horror people who know what they're doing aren't ripping up any. There's definitely were with all the betters. That are betting on the Kentucky Derby, casual better there had to be some people that threw away winning rental Cobb. Is there Rogers rent Randall Cobb is there is there of voice over IP? That says, hey, don't tear up your tickets just yet because they're going to stewards because I'm pretty sure Randall Cobb Seren, his stick it. If he doesn't have that. There wasn't announcement that there's an objection. So they do say hold onto all ticks, you guys you remember couple years ago. West Welker won a bunch of money. And we're just giving it out at the Kentucky Derby, you think that Wes Welker so deep into those mint juleps waiting around for. Hey, we got to check with the stewards. First of all, I. Stewart here. Crew now proclaimed horse racing dead because of because of a triple crown winner. But controversy is good for sports controversy is something that sells and get your attention. When a race is one and you watch it being one. And then you're told that the the the horse you thought one didn't win. It gets people talking about something they otherwise wouldn't have been talking about if it just gone as planned, you're you're talking about the Kentucky Derby in which was Welker headed deny taking Molly because it was a test situation memorable one. "They'll have their two hundredth meeting later in the year. Lambofield? That's how the NFL is going to start the season your I love the idea. Best rivalry in football. Right. Oldest rivalry most games. Played. Thursday night or Chicago's Soldier Field. Prime time but seven twenty our time. And then the other announcement the NFL New England Patriots will open their season on Sunday night football. They of course, the Super Bowl champions. This is what bears chairman George mccaskey's said as an organization we are thrilled to be kicking off the hundred season of football in the NFL as charter franchise we think of a better way to begin our centennial season by hosting our longtime rival in primetime as Soldier Field. Now the bears had a better season the Packers last year. There's not a big dispute about that package. Missed the playoffs for two years bears. Got in the playoffs at a rough go, but there's gonna be a lot of anticipation about this game. I cannot think of a better way to kick it off. If you remember last year the Packers started their season at Lambeau Field against the bears. And that was the game famously where in Rogers was hurt in the first half cut. It off comes out rises from the carts in the second. Half leaves a great comeback. That's probably only highlight of the season for the Packers. Because after that they didn't do much the Packers lost week fifteen at Chicago. That was the game. Unfortunately with the bears clinched the NFC north title, Eric can we're talking about this last week. The NFC north is up for grabs. You got the Minnesota Vikings. Took a step back last year. After after a great twenty seventeen season the bears, obviously on their way up a lot of great young talents. Great defense quarterbacks still trying to figure out things Mitch Trubisky. But they're on the upswing Packers brand new coach, Matt leflore. We'll see how that sorts out. They spent a lot of the off season money on defense. I'm excited about that. Because their defense has been a little suspect the last few years, so we have a new coaching staff. Lots of enthusiasm departure of some popular players. Can't can't hide behind that. Randall Cobb going to Dallas clay Matthews going to the Los Angeles. Rams. So there's some big changes there. But for all all this Packers fans kicking it off at Soldier Field on opening night that Thursday September fifth. I think that's a perfect way for the NFL to kick off its hundred season. And it's it's the best rivalry in sports. And it's one that I think. All of us. Sports fans. Oliver's football fans are gonna be looking forward to number three of our four at ten. He coming up at eleven o'clock hour be joined by Martin mortgage on me last Tuesday as well couple stories. We're going to talk about apple big news yesterday. Video streaming news. Plus the new credit card apple credit card. That's still not sure what that all means. Martin will help me break that down and an eleven thirty five. I've had the summit list for a while. Are we doing high school wrong? Are we teaching in the wrong way as our structure of the classes, not the most productive for students is the constant shifting and changing of the of the classes during the day the students moving through the hallways. Is that the best way to teach? We'll break that one down for to eleven thirty five. Our show poll is up find it at Facebook dot com slash six. Twenty WTMJ also on Twitter at six twenty WTMJ. "Welcome back to the GMC football podcast. We're on the final stretch here. And looking at more free agency players that can benefit us. We're gonna move past the running backs, and we're gonna go into the wide receivers. Or would you like to go to full backs running A Cevers? sears. Okay. I think the first big name. On this list that you say is big name is Randall Cobb. I know he's up there in age. But he's still has that that name like I said to it, and he can still like he could be a veteran to younger teams younger wide receivers. Don't you think? Yeah. Maybe I do think he's well past his prime. So. Yeah. But would you would you bring him in as a veteran as a as a mental also this? Okay. I don't think there's any place where he could go where I will draft him. So I don't know what the perfect scenario is. But even if I was like man that's a perfect team for rental cop. I still don't think I would draft him in in a fantasy draft. You think he's a waiver wire type guy anyways? Yeah. And you know, honestly is you're going to go anywhere better than being the saw receiver for Aaron Rodgers. I just don't see it happening being slow receiver for Grady. I don't know. I just I obviously cattleman. It's like. EU Rams will they Hoover up coming back? So no. Even talk about that. How Cooper could have been a major factor in this game? They missed him and the Super Cup. I think the Rams offense overall missed him because he was good at getting separation, and he could have changed this game. Absolutely. I absolutely Cooper Cup getting injured. This year was one of the most under reported things in the NFL because of how much he meant to that offense. I didn't even think about prize their offense was pretty mediocre from the time. He got injured. I mean about saying it's all because of that, obviously there's other factors to girl Jared Goff rely too much on coupe compared to everybody. I mean, he's just really good player and he was best red zone wide receiver. So, you know, puts point so yes, he does. And I I honestly totally forgot about him. Until just when you brought them up. You have an excellent point that could have been big difference factor in the Super Bowl without question. And with this carrying onto Randall Cobb. Honestly, I don't see him going anywhere where he can be a top draft pick either. But I do think he can help younger guys get better though. So if he's with a younger team with young wide receivers, I might look at those guys not rental Cup. He might help other guys who else will go on that list. Don't on Krief and other old player. Dante von is interesting player because I thought he was good on the Colson. I thought he was too. I had him all my fantasy team a couple of years ago. He helped me out. He's a free agent. I think he could be a big help to team. I'm not gonna lie. I like him a late round pick. Yeah. I think he could be depending on the right situation. But he is he's not really a name in. Honestly, he's under rated for put for the Jaguars as last year, and a lot of people didn't know that. Because a lot of people don't watch Jaguars. Yeah. All right. He did his his his games and he had good games despite a terrible quarterback. And honestly like I liked him a lot on the colts. I thought he was a pretty good colts player all things I thought it was him in paragraphs on if I'm not mistaken on two ns, and they were pretty good together. I would like to see Tim on Krief go. Go to Pittsburgh and replace in Tonio Brown..

"They're one of the ram teams because luck already been paid. Oh, yeah. He he's doing the thing. Now, it's like luck. And Russell Wilson are like the best values because they got paid so long ago that they're cheap now. Right. But you've got Rosa wasn't looked like the next two years making like twenty five mil MI one like Derek Carr and staff Stafford are making like thirty one. Yeah. They're both my colleague junior eight to see. You've got your quarterback. You won ten games you the most cap space like spin now like there's no windows been now. Yet. Go out get another receiver. Abraham was an incredible hit. And if they can get like ballet or just someone compliment Marlin maximal, I still don't think my MAC is an answer. I think it can play in the league. Obviously, I don't think he should be lead bag. I'm I think because I wanted Bill there. Now, I think I want like I was like, I don't know any of these receivers and T Y Hilton was so hurt. He couldn't run Sunday race on like Randall Cobb, and golden Tate is like he's just got weapons now. And then you sign lie on like seven Coleman to go with Marlin, Matt. And then I I said what I was like whatever defensive lineman falls on the draft. I'm making sure I get by like some one of them's gonna fall by Oliver's there, Tim, I'm trading. Terrify like you add Oliver you signed d Ford clowney when he's pass rush guys. There is Leonard to star now. Oh, yeah. Like me cookers good outside another secondary guy. And I'm good to go like their lines are good. They're like they're set. They've got one hundred million cafes one ten times tab in history enough. It couldn't have those yet. You just like golden Tate Randall Cobb. Here's like two years thirty million right? Guarant- comply with Angela play in a dome. Come win fourteen games with complained the AFC self. Say no more. So you're going Houston. Baltimore. I wanna I'm tempted to go colts. But now, I just I think the Sean doesn't man they're at home. They're playing well at home. They started their Lebanon, five miles. I they were like one in four so. Yeah. No, they they bounce back in a crazy way. I feel like the Sean said like a really good season despite that first month, especially coming off the ACL and blame with broken ribs having to take buses to games night. Great so injured that's the only that's why could see the Cocos with like fuller. Went out the Maurice's out. Hopkins is hurt. At a certain point. I do think it where does he go their land already stinks? So it was time to find people so colts might but I'm just I just wanna see the Sean do ongoing Houston. Someone tweeted on the other day, and and BIC tried to prove it rocketed couldn't. But it wasn't like he was trying to be dick. He just it was like an unbelievable staff to Sean and his whole college and pro career has never lost by more than a score in a game, which you started. Yeah. Just doesn't Ludhiana that isn't prison. House this week. Forty four to seven. So I want to go with the same mostly because I just wanna play Houston more than anyone few. And then Dallas Seattle. I like I like, I I haven't looked this up, and I said this on the act too. I feel like when these teams play no matter what who's on. What team? It's always a good game. No yet minutes back when Roma was fumbling. Snaps. From Luna extra points going. I'm taking Dallas though. I don't hate it. There. I like them needing the comeback against the John understand this division rival. But man, they stink putting up no points against the colts two weeks ago on very troublesome. And if it was any other team, maybe I just think Seattle does it like Rosa wasn't amazing..

"The season may be over for the Green Bay Packers. But that doesn't mean that we go quietly. Packers insiders now. Greg Maddux still joining us here in studio, and Greg let's spend some time at the end of the show maybe five fifty one or so talking about the very latest when it comes to the Packers coaching search right now. Let's just focus on what happened on the field. This year it was such a miserable year. But there had to have been a few highlights. A few bright spots who the players that to you had a really good year in what was otherwise a pretty disappointing season. Well, a couple of names that I think you can point to here. And I think it's also important where they are in their careers because they're young players, but Kenny Clarke took another step forward. I know he got injured toward the end of the year. But you want to talk about a defensive line in having he and Mike Daniels coming back next year and being healthy big deal. And and Kenny Clarke was maybe the most consistent performer on the Packers entire defense this season and just in the second year. So. On the other side of the ball. I think Aaron Jones became an a a guy that you really relied on as a as a playmaker. So when you talk about big playability, there's not a lot of that in the Packers offense. But to have it in a young running back the running back position just in general with Jones in his Williams is a backup. But he's a little better than a backup. You know? What I mean are they they're in really good shape at that position. Not a lot of good point two for stellar seasons. Collar kind of came out of nowhere to have double digit sacks. That was a big deal us getting double teamed more than clay Matthews toward the end of the year. So you saw some bright spots. But it remains a roster that you'd like to see a more developed core in backbone, and I think ultimately, that's why Brian has made the trade has made going back to draft day last year, you mentioned trades. What is the status of the Sean Kaiser is he still under contract? Or is this it for him? And is he the backup that they would be remains an open competition. I think you have to look at it that way anything behind Aaron Rodgers is open you still want to rookie contract. So you're not paying them a lot of money, and you can ride it out. I mean, I'd be surprised if he didn't bring him back. It's going to be a different offense next year to be sure. But no reason to suggest that he can't compete for that opportunity. In his opportunities. He didn't do much other than run, but he made mistakes, and he made a lot of mistakes in Cleveland. Even though he's got a handful of starts under his belt. He remains a work in progress to be sure so clay Matthews Randall Cobb those. I mean, what what do you think happens now in the offseason with their situations contract wise, and what the team might do move on? Maybe not pretty think. Yeah. I wonder how much influence the head coach is going to have on this. If you get an offensive minded head coach and love to say, Josh mcdaniels for no other reason than he's a guy. We know the Packers are going gonna interview he has thrived in building an offense around guys like Julian Edelman, not really speed burners the offense wide receiver position, but a reliable guy out of the slot. I think Randall Cobb is still that, but it's a matter of being healthy with clay Matthews. He's an unrestricted free agent mighty except a two year deal that really isn't terribly expensive. You've got some to go shooting power with clay Matthews because his contract is up. With cobb. He's got money coming to him next year with Nick Perry. It's still relatively early in this five years sixty million dollar deal. Can you afford to pay him to go away? And then the other names, I think that you'll hear a Brian Balogh who still only thirty years old. In cap, it'll be a little over eight million next year who's the suitable replacement on the roster today to Brian Balogh. You don't have it. So you have to be cautious about giving up players until you know, there's somebody more than capable of stepping into those shoes, and we have seen. Look, there's just not enough talent on this roster to compete for a playoff spot injuries aside. So you've got the twelfth pick. It's just a matter of best player available. You can't pick and choose with this roster as it is right now at twelve would you agree? Yeah. I think so because your needs today are going to be different than your needs. Come august. The Packers didn't need to receive receiver a few years ago, and then Jordy Nelson towards ACL in a preseason game. So things can happen quickly. But there are more holes on this roster than there are solutions. So I think you with three picks in the top forty five or so likely to have that's either currency to keep moving up. But I think ultimately you want to develop the corn backbone of this team you need. Those picks you really need those picks, and you might be able to multiply them into more perhaps. But I think the more at bats he get here could Brian Gouda codes the better, and you've got the two first rounders, right? You've got yours at twelve. And then wherever the saints fall. Saints will be anywhere from twenty eight to thirty two. So you're not talking about an early first round pick. But again, you've got the opportunity to move back a little bit maybe to the top part of the second round in acquire a fifth or sixth round pick. In addition or you can package your first daughters move up a little bit. I mean, it really depends what the board dictates but the Packers need talented football players. Then you're likely to get that by owning three picks in the top fifty. Appreciate it, Greg. We'll talk about the coaching search at five fifty this afternoon. Packers insiders sponsored by Bob cat. "This was who weeks after the after the draft k said I'm gonna explain to you about this offense. Every time you go back to pass or you're in the shotgun. And you take the ball every time there will be at least one. Receiver open great that is a guarantee, but you don't have much time at all to hit him. That's why the decision making process in this offense. If you're not fast you can't play here. Right. So you better learn everything when I give you a play in you understand the play. You're gonna have two seconds to understand everything about the play. And then to hit the open guy. That's it. Because if you wait too. And if you wait a half second longer, he's not going to be over any more. Right. So that is to me what I think has been missing in Green Bay degree. I don't believe from watching them play. I believe many times because it's interesting the Packers play a lot of national games. There's a lot of cameras on them so Randall Cobb there's going to be an ice. Oh camera on Randall, Cobb and Davante Adams, right? And how many times have you seen on replay? The like, the cloud camera that can see everything, and you don't see a guy either open at all right or open enough to take that risk jockey. Right. And I just keep thinking to myself if mcdaniels is true. And if or if he's right that means you can have a mediocre receiving group and the patriots to put it charitably ah have a mediocre receiving Griff. But they're usually going to have a guy open that Tom Brady can find whether it be Chris HOGAN, right or Cordeiro Patterson or whoever the flavor of the week is Philip door set. Yeah. Right. And so you you don't have a great group. But usually you're going to have that. So I just ask you that. I mean, what do you think of that? Is that right? I do think. That's right. I again, I think that's why we see Aaron Rodgers back there holding the ball because he's going. Well, yeah. I could jam it in there, and maybe Randall Cobb catches it why? He's very securely. Covered. But maybe the defender gets his hand in there and Bassett in the air, then it becomes interception. Then we go. Oh, look at Green Bay. They're in trouble here because eratures don't interception. So he is a really grown in the office to realize you know, what I'm good enough to just sit back here. And if they're not wide open right off the bat, I'm gonna dance around. And I'll wait till I can see something clearly to throw the football because more times than not when I breakdown Green Bay film and anybody ever listened to my podcast or anything like that. I sit there and go, okay..
