Fauci clashes with Sen. Rand Paul over NYC's COVID sucess

"This coronavirus has been politicized from the jump in the United States. But this week's pandemic politics have been particularly jarring. It started on Monday. The CDC pulled guidance from its website that said that this virus mainly spreads by air guidance that they only posted. Friday guidance widely accepted as fact in the scientific community but the CDC pulled it and said, it had been posted in error not a great look lots of unanswered questions. Then on Wednesday Dr Steven Hahn Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration appeared before the Senate to reassure the nation that the vaccine approval process would not be politicized that a host of experts outside the organization would weigh in before any approvals were granted almost immediately after that happened president trump said in a briefing that may or may not happen and that the whole. Thing sounded quote like a political move at that same Senate hearing Wednesday we saw something rare Dr Anthony Fauci. The country's top infectious diseases. Experts seem to lose his cool with Senator Rand Paul. You've been a big fan of Cuomo in the shutdown. New York lauded New York for their policy New York had the highest death rate in the world. How can we possibly be? Jumping up and down and saying Ho Governor Cuomo did a great job hit the worst death right in the world no you misconstrued that Senator and you've done that repetitively in the past they got hit very badly. They've made some mistakes right now if you look at what's going on right now, the things that are going on in New York to get their tests. Positively one percent or less is because they are looking at the guidelines that we have put together from the task force of the four or five things of masks social, distancing outdoors more than indoors avoiding crowds and washing hands, or they've developed enough community immunity that they're no longer having the pandemic because they have enough immunity in New York, city tax challenged that senator. Free. Please Sir I would like to be able to do this because this happens with senator rand all the time you and not listening to what the director of the CDC said that in. New York twenty, two percent. If you believe twenty two percent is heard immunity I believe you're alone in that we're used to seeing heated exchanges in Congress, but this one felt different because Dr out she has been a paragon of patients during this entire pandemic we got in touch with him earlier today to ask his patience was running out but we started with what's to come with this pandemic as we head into winter. Good Morning Dr out she. Good Morning. How are you today? I'm doing well great to have you back on the show. Welcome to my closet. Okay, get good ventilation in there now be careful we don't want you fainting on me. Happy. Equinox and new season is upon us, and of course, winter is coming what's in store for the United States as as the seasons change during this pandemic well, you know it's going to be complicated because what we really need to appreciate is that as we enter into the full in the winter, a lot of things that we would have done outdoors, which is part of the public health programme the protocol a now going to have to be done indoors, which means it'll be an. Extra special challenge we often say the four or five things that really do work. If everybody implements them is wearing masks keeping a distance avoiding crowds outdoors than indoors washing hands. If everyone had done that diligently, we would not have seen some of the surges that we've seen that have given us. What I would consider is an unacceptably high background, and by background I, mean is the number of cases per day which even when they're in young people who most of whom are without symptoms, minimal symptoms nonetheless, it propagates the outbreak and you've got to get that down remember when we. Were trying to open the economy in the country a couple of months ago month and a half ago. The southern states you know literally metaphorically caught fire. And the number of daily cases were around seventy thousand with about a thousand deaths per day. Now, we're back down but you between thirty and forty. But like day you go yesterday was forty some odd thousand cases that's unacceptable as you enter the winter. If you WANNA, go into the fall in the winter and have to have the extra challenge of a potential flu season, which will have hopefully, we can mitigate it together with the fact that most people will be indoors in most climates. In this country, it's an extra challenge I would like to get that baseline way down way down in a few thousand, not thirty or forty thousand.

City of Dallas Cancels Young Americans for Liberty Convention

"To to Dallas Dallas this this weekend weekend for for a a convention. convention. Organizers Organizers say say this this city city waited until the last minute to cancel over fears of covert 19. Charlie's Allen's Kaya joins us live with details on that, Alan. Good morning. Scott Young Americans for Liberty is a libertarian group described as a graph grassroots youth organization. They're based in Austin, and they'd been planning convention of the Army in Dallas this weekend called mobilized 2020 President Cliff Baloney says they were expecting about 1500 students and then hundreds more investors and political leaders, including Rand Paul, He says young Americans for liberty and agreed to wear masks. Everybody had to stay together while they're here, and they would serve boxed lunches instead of using of a fame. He says they had already arrived with equipment, signs and materials to set up on the stage of the army. But they got the call this week they could not hold the convention. I think where we got frustrated was the city of Dallas through a bunch of curve balls at us over the last month, and we continue to adapt and comply, and even about 10 days before the event, I mean, they gave us full sign off from the fire marshal. So that's why it's frustrating. They waited till the last minute. Riding kind of giving us a heads up that the city of Dallas has management at the Omni Hotel made the decision and says they offered to postpone the convention centers to cancel it. The Omni says it did not want to hold a convention because of the pandemic, but has offered to reschedule. Young Americans for Liberty had moved the convention to Dallas when they were not a lot before in Austin and Pony says they're just gonna have to cancel instead of try to reschedule again. "Everyone John Worth I'm here is this with sports illustrated tennis podcast. Sweet. We have two guests, I. We talk with Patrick Rata Glue who of course wears many hats in tennis keeps the Tennis Miller's busy. He's a broadcaster he's a coach. He's a promoter Today we talked to him in two capacities. We talk about the the ultimate tennis showdown that he ran over the past several weeks. This was an attempt by Patrick to speed up tennis, make it faster younger draw a new audience. We talk about what worked what didn't we spoke with him in June and he invited us sort of wouldn't he said we'll do a reassessment when we're done and see what we did well, and what we need to work on, and so we took him up on that so. A conversation about the UTSA ultimate showdown, and then we talk about Serena. Williams. Patrick of course has coached Serena for almost a decade now, and we talk about where she is what she'll need to do to Win that elusive twenty-fourth major He is about to leave niece for Lexington Kentucky from the south of France to the land, of Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul but Patrick. is going to meet up with Serena and couture in Lexington on her way to the US. Open to we talk a lot about Serena Williams how she's handling pressure, which he needs to do differently if she were to get to the final and her sort of general disposition during during the Cova crisis. So good conversation that we talked with Andrea Leeann Andras a former top fifteen player. A commentator she also wants did a brief stint as an agent She was at the Greenbrier for the final of World Team Tennessee other day she was sitting courtside. So we talk a bit about tennis and a bit about what the US Open is going to look like under this sort of quasi bubble configuration. So good to good conversation sort of looking back but also looking forward. So let's get started in the south of France with Patrick. So we spoke a few months ago before. Before your events began and we said we would we would check in and you were open to suggestion and you sort of you wanted to hear how this went. So you you tell me first. Grade yourself what what work well. Most of it. I to to see the reality of something you've you've imagined is is amazing. It's an incredible feeling. And it was it was really impressive to see those those great champions play. As. I mean something that was difficult to imagine like play formats. So different from tennis. The accepting to be in such in this comfort zone at the start because it's very different it's very stressful. Is Very difficult in terms of physical because you don't have a lot of time between the much less so he can't recover well. You're so much more stress. To see them go through all that. In a completely new environment All the things that go is the software we had to give up this machine we had to develop for the JEREM buyers day so. I mean. The whole feeling for me was just incredible. To be completely honest, you you you sound to me like you you've written a screenplay and then you've you've actually seen it performed as as a movie. Perfect who put it What did you think first of all, what what did you think of the level play I mean this this was a different environment for the players. They were also coming off along break. What did you think of quality of Tennessee? I think at the start of Utsa one level was really so-so. After a few weekends decided to play well. the one birds for example, who on your gs? One I think is level the first two weekends was wow. Was Far from very far and then. He took off and then he started to play a some of his best tennis I think. Why he won and the level of I think for UTA. Finals. Men and women I. Think the level was really good. I think it was very good tennis. That's I really enjoyed so much watching.

Democrats and Republicans remain divided on enhanced unemployment benefits

"In Washington, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin telling Senate Republicans that negotiations are no closer to a Corona virus relief deal than they were last week. He's putting the blame on congressional Democrats Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer. They're leading the talks last Friday. Of course, that's $600 a week federal enhancement to state unemployment benefits it expired. Other Republicans emerging from today's briefing with the Treasury secretary and White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, saying it appears the bipartisan negotiations are now at a stalemate. CBS NEWS Congressional correspondent Nancy Court is with this question to Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. In a variety of proposals. But at this point what do you believe the consensus Senate Republican view is on how large the federal unemployment insurance benefits should be per week and how long it should last. Well, I think I've made it very clear for some time. Now. If you're looking for total consensus among Republican senators, you're not going to find it, so we do have divisions about what to do. What we're hoping for. Here is a bipartisan proposal negotiated by the president of the stage and his team who can sign a bill into law and Democratic majority in the House that can appeal to a significant percentage of Republicans in the House and Senate. That's where we are on the unemployment issue. We all know it needs to be solved. We don't want the exploration to continue what we've suggested that Short term fixes. Others have indicated they've objected to that a better outcome would be to get to a total solution sooner rather than later. And that's what I am encouraging everyone to do on both sides. Part of the challenge with this negotiation that Negotiators know what the Democratic negotiating position is, but it's unclear what the Republican position is. It's no, that's not a big challenge at all. I'm not anticipating 100 nothing vote in the Senate. This time. I said that in the very beginning, I said it when we laid down our trillion dollar heels. I don't think we're gonna have A total consensus in this round. The atmosphere is much more partisan than it was back in March and April that much closer to the election. So I don't think the definition of success here is whether we have a unanimous vote. I think the definition successes is the product. Something that will actually make a difference. And yet part of the problem is we hear from other Senate Republicans, including Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Rand Paul of Kentucky, saying that they do not support the price tag for the Koven 19 2nd round of relief package is more from today's briefing with reporters, NBC's Casey Hunt and Senator Mitch McConnell. Nancy Pelosi, that House speaker seems to have suggested that $600 per week for federal benefits is for red Line. Do you think a bill with that amount of money for unemployment could pass the Senate if the president were to say he wants that, too? I think I'm pretty safe to say that there are plenty of Republicans in the Senate who may not vote for a package if that's where it ends up, But we know this is going to be a negotiated settlement. I just said it's not going Produce a Kumbaya moment like we had in March or April where everybody voted. Aye, but the American people in the end I need help. And wherever this thing settles between President United States and his team have to sign it into law and the Democrat not insignificant minority in the Senate and majority in the house is something I'm prepared to support even if I have some problems. "So also in the news right now is this whole idea of the origination of the Russia probe and I for one am loudly. Calling on Senator Lindsey Graham to start holding hearings on how our civil liberties have been threatened and abused by the Federal Bureau of Investigation into the federal government. And Senator Lindsey Graham better start acting like the chairman of a committee with a majority not just someone that wants to appease people on both sides. You've been talking about this issue for a while and if I'm not mistaken you're the only dissenting vote against James. Call me nomination. I could be wrong with that but I think I'm right. Can you comment on what's going on with the FISO abuse issue and also the origination of the Russia probe? How Lieutenant General Michael? Flynn is a victim of law. Entrapment not law enforcement. Because I know a lot of conservatives are very angry right now at the lack of action from Senator Lindsey Graham Conservatives are rightly angry and many of them are angry at the abuse of power by Obama officials including Joe Biden an unmasking General Clinton. I agree with all of that. But it's really important that we also get to the heart of this. This is about allowing Americans to be eavesdropped on the protections of the bill of rights. So my objection to Fiso. End to the unmasking rebates brought president trump. And anything that it's terrible. What happened to President Trump? Glad more be were paying attention. But I don't like the idea of going around the Fourth Amendment Fourth Amendment says this if the government wants to listen to your phone call they have to go to an independent judge and they have to ask the judge or proved that judge that there's probable cause that you either committee of. I'm going to commit a crime. There has to be some evidence. They can't just listen to you because they don't like you but if they don't like you they can listen to you or they have this bizarre notion of a Russian conspiracy. They can listen to you because it's not the bill of rights. What happens under FIS up and also under the unmasking approve probable cause that someone has an association with a foreign government? Well that's not the fourth amendment and so what happens then. Is you get abusive. You have biased. People and as Madison said if men were angels would need these rule but men are not angels and particularly the Obama Administration was not full of angels. Joe Biden unmasking general. Flynn is not normal so in the left says Oh this is just a normal and masking if it is then. There's something terribly wrong about unmasking and I think that does get to the heart of this. I think unmasking should be unlawful and less. There's some content that comes up. That makes you suspect someone is committing a crime or getting ready to commit terrorism or or involved with doing that. My guess is if you listen to the entire. Flynn conversation which I haven't and I think it's still classified. I think adviser policy discussions between a new policy advisor in the trump administration with the Russian ambassador will not only. Should THEY NOT UNMASK GENERAL? Flynn's name they probably should not unmask or get rid of the mitigation of the conversation. I was always told the. Nsa tells us oh of we have. We're listening someone we've honors American. We don't listen at all. We minimize the conversation. That's what should happen because there's no way to do this. Constitutionally there's no way on the back end and this is why objected to reform the recent visor reform. That came through kind of tried to make the system less bad. They said there's going to be a friend of the court argue for you in this nap. My point is you cannot make defies a court constitutional for Americans. It's fine for foreigners but it doesn't work for Americans and I promise to the President and I've been his rallies. I've heard him say I don't want this to happen to another president and I promise you Republican Democrat. No president should have to go through this again but the only way you do it took Americans out of the Faucet. Gordon said you want to serve surveilled or spider American. You gotta go to court. The end got eleven votes for that because many of the people here pretend to be on the president side but they're actually on the side of the deep state and I promise everyone looks at him source. Yes Mr President was president. But they're not really on his much more allegiance to the deep state the institution the bureaucracy and basically the power being not limited sort of an unlimited power without checks and balances get a warrant is what I really want to deal with an Americans. Meta data and their conversations. My goodness. That's what Warren Sir for. You don't need some secret. Underneath process that has no transparency to be able to go after Americans and now we know that has been abused we know materially it has been abused and my criticism is not just towards Democrats. It's also towards people that seem to just drag this out and one name comes to mind. Who's having a tough go at it right now? For an unrelated issue Senator Richard Burr. It seems like he has been perfectly fine with the status quo of spying on Americans and who knows where that actually ends up. And I want to commend. You senator because you should take victory lap after victory lap for voting against James. Call me because you the only senator to do so and I sure hope justice gets held up against him today also senator the Homeland Security Committee. I might have that terminology wrong. Approved the subpoena towards Hunter Biden related companies. Can you build this out for us? This is somewhat breaking news. It's happening in real time. Arguing support the subpoena. And what is the significance of it? Yes I voted for the subpoena. It passed on party Lonzo. Democrats are hopping mad. It's a subpoena of at American lobbying arm. That did lobbying for Orissa Ma. The company that hundred worked for there is evidence that they in all likelihood have email exchanges of saying. Hey let us hunter Biden to get access to the State Department. And I think when that's presented a look you know once there's transparency stretch Baresi shined on this. It's GonNa look very very damning to find out that not only was this young man with no experience recently kicked out of the military Who Really had no experience? International Finance or international companies or oil and gas was making six hundred grand to maybe a million dollars a year and it turns out they were trading on his influence. And the really you've got everybody knows the reason you tired. Because in even amid because him was Biden on but you know they really should not be able to use the federal government has an ATM. I still would like to know is flying on Air Force to to China. That's got to be against the law. Why didn't somebody prosecute that whatever happened the Department of Justice whatever happened to the FBI? They seem to have a lot of time for other stuff. They don't seem to have time to go after somebody using their political office for material game. Yeah and taking advantage of our country and I also just want to remind our listeners. You filibuster John Brennan from thirteen hours. So when Rand Paul puts up a fight against something. There might be something to that. It seems like the moderate. Republicans are always defending the status quo. And then they're happy to attack at once it's revealed it's the people that can predict ahead of time and actually stand for liberty that are deserving of praise so center. I know you're I'm sorry. John Brennan deserved every minute of. I'm just disappointed. We kept him out of office. What a terrible terrible person. Look Senator Can I ask a question? Does he still have his security clearance? We've sent a letter to the director of national. Intelligence actually is going to go out today asking that very question you know. I brought it up about a year ago maybe a little longer than that President Trump. I HAPPENED TO BE IN OVER. Offset Day sets a great idea. Let's do it. There's a couple of other people and we ought to add to the list as well and these people trade on this they get gigs. Making several hundred thousand a year on television and it turns out many of them have a history of either leaking to the media illegally lined. Congress like James Clapper or like John Brennan doing things That caused the potential harm of others in the field by leaking things to the media. That involved secret operatives overseas the remember the bomber in Yemen. We had someone on the inside. And I think Brochures Brennan and released this through other cohorts who said notably were. We've got someone on the inside. Talk about the idiocy of someone. Who's in charge of the entire? Cia to reveal something like that on television. So now I think he's a terrible person and turned out to be a terrible partisan but once again it's not just about keeping John Brennan out of positions of authority. It's about making the rule such that. If you get a bad apple like a James Clapper John Brennan that there are checks and balances so it doesn't occur and that's really what we have so we have to change the law as well as trying to get people in office. You GotTa make the law such when you do get bad people in office. They get caught doing in whether someone to stop them from doing it. That's well put so. I know you're very valuable center. I just WanNa get a quick comment in the couple minutes. We have remaining on this potential phase for I senator I. I started following you and the tea party movement when you were that. Red Penny on your on your sports jacket. I know you do where you talked about. Debt and deficit and how it can deteriorate our currency and lead us to hyper inflation and it actually is the middle class. That is a victim of the Central Banks. Creating money schemes. Can you quickly comment on the Federal Government's addiction to the spending and are we going to see more of it? There's not one Democrat up here. Who cares about the deficit at all soon? Discount the entire Party. They don't even pretend to care about the debt. The problem on our side is that most Republicans pretend to care about the debt and about Oh I don't know two or three in the Senate care about the dad five or ten care about the dead. Now it's a small number and particularly in recent times all the stuff. We criticized Bernie Sanders for this enormous. Bailout that we just got through those are all Bernie Sanders kind of ideas. Enormous amount of spending government bailing out industry. This is not what we're supposedly for. And this is why. It's so important when we look at this that we talk about. In retrospect and also the next time we get a pandemic we've got to understand this shutting down the economy's terrible way to do that deal with this and in fact there are some things that we could have done and still could do well late into nursing homes that could cut our mortality and half. We have to figure out how to take care of our elders in the nursing homes but as far as shutting the economy down. I'm not so sure it's saved any laws but it did destroy our country. Basically we can still come back but we got come back as we've got to open the economy and the six trillion dollars created out of thin air. We couldn't even print money. That quickly is going to have ramifications for. I think it locks in the next business cycle so boom and bust cycle somewhat endemic to the marketplace but exacerbated by government creation of credit. Because what happens is the credit becomes a misallocation. People think they're richer than they are. They buy more of stuff. It gets bid up. And then there's a discovery market somehow discovers that Sort of the emperor has no clothes that this gracious of wealth wasn't real well and then there's a correction and we've seen the run up in market before which all the collapse of the market with pandemic. We're now seeing the market. Do Pretty well again. But my worry is is that it's an illusion. It's it's a fiction of wealth that it's not real and then about the next business cycle and the Austrian theory of the business cycle is shouldn't be like this is that the manipulation of interest rates actually create the boom bust cycle and natural behavior human action. As von missus would argue. This is natural. This is actually an artificial cycle. That were in well. Senator I know you gotta get back to protecting our freedoms and liberties. "So maybe maybe you can help me understand what is obstruction of Congress. 'cause I can't I've had many people. Ask me the. It's not really a crime and basically the president is arguing that he has executive underprivileged and one of the things that I do definitely agree with sometimes I think presidents try to get too much power on. You've been really really consistent on this but I'm privilege I'm actually with the president and having this product so if the secretary of state gives them personal advice and national security advisor gives them personal or the chief of staff. Think about the chief of Staff Chief of staff Abbas with the president fourteen hours a day. Do you think there's personal conversations that really nobody in the public should absolutely not so. I think it's one thing and this may be something something you see as you go forward is if the president says and he already has said this publicly that I'm gonNA claim executive privilege for these people. I think it'll be an interesting debate because I think Republicans Republicans are fairly united in believing that executive privilege should not be pierced and that we should not force the president to divulge conversations. So I think eh if that question comes before she will see actually probably all Republican standing together and trivialization of the impeachment. Process is what it really is. Can you talk a little bit about. What the founders? Actually thought impeachment should be and this is so far away from their original intent was on it. I think they wanted something out there. You know we were just very close to our break away from the king and things and what they didn't want is like some king or Duke would offer a president you know the million dollars or back. Then let's say one hundred thousand dollars to do something they didn't want rob for money. They didn't want people committing high crimes and misdemeanors. I only was ever intended good for policy and I've said Look Democrats say it hurts our national security to withhold foreign aid or military aid. I'm actually the opposite opinion. I don't think the constitution allows as for foreign aid. Yes nor do I think it actually helps national security. I think it hurts us to go further in debt. And that's my political opinion. That's not an impeachable offense. The president kind of agrees with me on this he says European Rabin should pay more. NATO should pay more. And he's been a skeptic that these people some of these people deal the money and I I mean I'm I'm probably in the minority opinion. But why the heck are we giving Ukraine foreign aid in the first place. I don't understand where twenty two trillion dollars in debt and the biggest corruption out there. I shouldn't say the biggest but one of the things that is out of control. Corruption is the foreign renate industry that exists overseas dictators and despots get really rich and it never goes down to its intended purpose. Look look at Egypt move. Our family was said to be worth each kid about about five billion Wadad about five billion. And how much did we give them. We gave them about sixty billion about two billion a year over thirty like a nice lawn laundering. They're taking about a third of of sixty billion or a half of sixty billion dollars in stolen off the top half the dictators in Africa. Half the dictators around the world and the president's right. What does Ukraine famous for corruption that the heart of correct and both sides have been corrupt? There's either been Russian leaning government or a Western government and no matter which one we've gotten empower the one commonality has been corrupt. It's very important point that these countries countries will never established their own sovereignty if we continue to subsidize their bad behavior. And I think it's true also also sort of fighting for liberty you know we like to look back at our history and art in the famous part of our issues. We fought for our Liberty Stadium fought for liberty and yet we think somehow we we can win liberty for other people in Afghanistan Iraq. Look at Iraq. I mean the. Here's the thing about Iraq we defeat Saddam Hussein we give them liberty the Sunni insurgency comes back we defeat feet the Sunni insurgency and give him liberty Isis pops up Sunni extremists. We defeat them read times we gave him liberty and how Iraq respond they WANNA kick. Our troops is out but there are also align with Iran. The Prime Minister of Iraq shows up at the funeral basically for the leading terrorist from Iran. And so this is the craziness but it's also wine. I think president trump was right. We never should have been in Iraq or to being well. And what frustrates me about this impeachment. Fight is we can actually talk about the serious news. What's going on with Afghanistan Stan which it's long past time completely and totally withdraw from Afghanistan? You've been a leader on this issue. The Washington Post actually a rare act of journalism. In the last I think last last month or month and a half were they published a lot of this unbelievable discovery of generals admitting that it was winless war and that there was corruption and waste. Can you talk a little bit about that because our audience is really interested in. We're GONNA have a hamburger Schwartz in one of the committee's chair in the next month. Terrific the Afghan papers. And we're GONNA talk about this because I think think every soldier every young man and woman that goes to war deserves to have a mission and they deserve to be able to believe in the mission and the leaders APP too. So how Allen Fair would it be to send a kid to war and then privately everybody's saying I'll is not really any possibility what's immoral immoral absolutely absolutely and I think you're gonNA find I think we're going to have some leading voices. We're GONNA have some generals colonels and people participated in it talking about that. The mission no longer exists in Afghanistan. What is the mission gene? We're fifty or fifty four African countries. What is our mission if your son or daughter dies there which somebody just did a young people just Somalia someone in Somalia? Yeah so we astore losing not thousands of kids like they're still alive but we've lost six thousand between Iraq and Afghanistan and a lot of people. Don't talk about this fifty thousand wounded well not not to mention the PTSD veteran's suicide so we've lost a multiple more of people trying to fight terror than we did on on nine eleven and this is the real question we have to ask. There are bad people out there and we have to side when we're GONNA kill him in Congress is for isn't it. Yes and the thing is we have to decide the when we kill one bad guy if we accidentally killed their family or a wedding party with them. Are there less terrorist more. Does it multiple the rebound and the blowback. Is it worse. I than than the other. So I don't know I think ultimately that each country has to decide their own destiny and in some ways four aid is kind of like the what we complain about in our our country when we give people welfare forever and no limits and they never go back to work because what's incentive to go back to work. It's the same with fighting for your freedom in Afghanistan on. They're really going to fight afford if we keep fighting if we keep doing all the defy billion a year to Afghan security forces we bill natural gas gas stations and they don't have natural gas cars known as a natural gas car here in America let alone in Afghanistan. We're building a new hotel for them in downtown Kabul. That's become like a terrorist. Hot Spy. So they can shoot at us and I had this conversation and people can go back. I can listen to my conversation with congressman. Dan Challenged him on his position and he obviously served our country courageously but his argument was basically what we have to be there. Fight them there so we don't have to fight like them here. You extrapolate that argument. We'll see I think that's a platitude and we shouldn't fight were over platitude it also may or may not be true. It may be that they fight is over here because we're over there. There's a lot of merit we can reverse the platitude and the other thing is there are times. We have to fight but when we have to fight it needs to come from Congress. That's that's what constitutions yes and people say oh congress will never vote for war was not true five times right on the most recently I think when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor on December number seven. FDR comes on December eighth and it was nearly unanimous vote to declare war on Japan when we were attacked on nine eleven they came nearly unanimous. Vote again but we can't allow devote nine. Eleven was very specific. It's like sixty words. Says we will go after the people who attacked us who plotted or harbored. The attackers on nine eleven specifically all tied to nine eleven and there were people bin Laden and his crew. That was that was in. There was in Afghanistan. But now they've done one is they've said Oh and associated forces and associated forces of associated forces. But that wasn't in the in the authorization yes so now. We have troops in fifty fifty eighty four African countries. That's UNBELIEV. Why are we fighting a war in Mali and they say well because of the nine eleven proclamation the nine eleven proclamation was about nine eleven? It wasn't about going on in Africa and I think the American people are honestly fed up with these endless wars especially with the amount of problems. We had a vote nationwide. I think there'd be vote for coming home here here. In Congress. Congress is still more bellicose than the American people but if you just interview soldiers who fought in Iraq war the majority of them now think that the Iraq war and it lowers morale and the US military and all throughout it. So so what else anything else. Uh under an Paul that you have coming on the horizon things you WanNa make our audience aware of things. You're fighting four ways that we can assist you. Big things impeachment. The next thing we're going to do next week is the Afghan payoffs. We're going to be watching very closely. You know I think that people need to recognize research and talk about how much money we're spending overseas and well. We need to concentrate on on things here at home. That's one thing that president trump has done and said better than any other. The President of my lifetime better than any of the bushes really is that we got things to consider home. We have problems here at home. Let's take care of them. And I think even in Iraq or Afghanistan and I think he would bring the troops home but I think he's sometimes gotten people appointed who actually don't agree with him. In fact I said this recently said look everyone of of president trump's appointees that comes through the Foreign Relations Committee I asked him do you agree. With president. Trump at the Afghan war was a mistake. The vast majority of them don't agree with the president so we need to try to keep people out of the administration who actually don't support the president's and one of the worst arguments people say well then the Russians will come in and say well good. I mean didn't really work wealth and last time it hasn't worked could for us if they have a solution to the Taliban. We're not aware of then. Let them figure that staying that we should realize. We are the largest mightiest the biggest missiles but we have a defense system that we spent seven hundred fifty billion. Russia spends fifty. Five billion. Rand spends Seventeen billion we are bigger and mightier than any country on the planet including China. All of them doesn't mean we have to use it. I agree with the way the president put it the other the day but it also doesn't mean we have to occupy acres all over the place that we have to have soldiers in every country because we have the ability to strike back to strike harm from anywhere on the globe job but having those targets troops and all these countries I think is a hook. It's a trip wire to give us more involved. I was GONNA say. Do you think it actually has the opposite effect to put more conflicts. Yeah so if you sent five thousand troops more to Kuwait. We said more. If they didn't go into Iraq. I think they went. Which I think's a mistake? Well the question is are are. They had five thousand troops at deterrence to Iran or the target for Iran. So I think they've become targets and I don't think they deter anything you know. And the argument argument people say well determined at five thousand ground troops. That's one of them gets targeted by Iran. Someone could make the argument that that's a reason to get into a very expensive and costly conflict there. Well Senator Senator Rand Paul. Thanks for all you do for our country and everyone go buy his book the Case Against Socialism. So thanks so much thank you. "In wash inter republicans are discussing rand paul is and may be promote we hear from ram pauline convinced the president to start going in that direction hopefully cell but for the majority of congress it's not going that way simply about how much government money should be put in it's about how much more socialism should we have in the healthcare system it's how much more of a monopoly should we have and there's a little disagreement between republicans and democrats but nothing is moving towards freemarket nothing moving in the opposite direction the public on those issues are shift it it is is shifty we are becoming a country that believes the government can take care of us but don't intrude on us don't take away our gun rights don't tell us how to speak don't don't you know as stay out a stand of our religion give us the freedom of speech don't take away my freedom of speech oh that guy's yet take his away that group of people yet take their way yet why of four therefore profit business take away their freedom of speech they shouldn't have why because if they're forprofit some hall must be evil and would not be good for the country so we make and rationalize he's decisions all the time and so i don't know eric at i just sort of sit here and at times and throw it up beds roar hands up and say in a wide with people not wish to live in the real world and again it was just accelerated by.

"Not about a free market system simply not of out of one it's not about repealing obamacare it's not about repealing the death spiral it's not about doing anything except the republicans arguing well we want to put a little with few shoot dollars less in to the healthcare system than the than the democrats yeah it's increasing on both sides every single year and it's going to increase and yes government's gonna be more dominant over over the healthcare system but the debate is not free market verses a single payer system no it's it's a it's should we have a private insurance system that is massively subsidised by the government to a certain degree to a lesser degree what republicans want to a greater degree what does some democrats want to a single payer system that's where it is the free market is not being discussed asked except for rand paul now rand paul says he does have a bug in the ear of the president wills island widow when it when it comes to executive orders i hope so and i would love to see the president uh do it especially since our president really hasn't taken any type of of stand on on on the specifics of and that by the wealth where columns was alluding to the other day when she was saying um by the present were were hoping the president won't take action that that we debt we'll get this done legislatively and that the president will take action because there there has been this room out that he was in a considering actions uh which would be executive orders of course or administrative actions i guess through the.

"Face paint and ease on his horse and he's a ski shouting about freedom and his name as rand paul and unfortunately nobody else's listening you know it with william wallace or at least in the movie they were shouting and and yet they were behind him about with rand paul ifs yawn well you know if you take in your in oil within the the what i said it at rand paul position yes yes you know your your uvira founding fathers and and what they put in you know we we talked about how obamacare came to be especially the individual mandate net came from the social security decision that said basically said look government can tax you for anything and so you know it's it's legal and that's how the that's how the mandate basically came in was based on the social security a precedent to begin with but we live in a representative government and if they an and in a represent of government if the the people through their elected representatives wish to have bigger programs will then you're going to get now mas remember that's that's the hope and by the way we're not tribunal know were the last ones to ever let anybody in congress off the hook where do we know hey including republicans i never led to a w off the hook we never left who you know let anybody agua newt gingrich when newt gingrich when after mitt romney because of the business that he was in who says stopping a democrat and we said that was so we don't care who you are in a wheat we could we could care less but but uh it's the american public it's it's the real and i look i wish it wasn't that way but i we're not wants to sit here and deny reality whether it's an economics i'll economics works or what the public is feeling at a particular moment and the public is moving left on fiscal issues and this is one of the issues republicans now believe a growing number of republicans now believed that big government is better intrusive government is still bad you've got the vast majority of republicans had believe that yeah but we believe that it gets to a point where if you if you believe that it becomes a tale because of governments going to be taking care of everything some is going to have to pay for it.
