Who Was the Uvalde Shooter?

"Throughout the fourth grade, Ramos was bullied over his stutter, short haircut and clothing, which he often wore the same every day the report revealed. And the tale of the time when a girl tied his shoelaces together, causing him to fall on his face. So the reason that I'm reading this to you has nothing to do with the ivaldi police. This part. The cruelty of children to other children is known to everybody except the well educated who have bought the dangerous idiocy of human nature is basically good. How do you explain that bullying and the cruelty that children engage in against other children? Is that what they were taught at home?

Report Slams Uvalde Police Handling of School Shooting

"This uvalde police thing is beyond belief. One praise that this is just. That this is just a elaboration that this is not something that is at all typical. Of police forces and generally it isn't, but it is it has been it's an amazing thing. Let me get this report back here. The reports land the police for failing to prayers is the Texas from the Texas legislature. Texas House committee. The reports land the police were caught failing to prioritize saving the lives of innocent victims over their own safety. 77 page document blasted system failures and egregious poor decision making. By merely all those in power during the May 24th attack, cops failed to follow the active shooter doctrine imposed after the 1999 Columbine high school massacre by not engaging with Ramos. The school's safety protocol for keeping doors to classrooms locked and shut during school hours was not adhered to.

Doug Takes a Deep Dive Into Gun Legislation

"Today, I want to, this is a timely issue, and I wanted to go ahead and discuss this because it's just something disturbing issues that are coming out. And it's going to happen very fast. This is what happens in Washington, D.C.. When circumstances in the world meet the emotional response of people and the fact that they need to do something. We talk about this a week or two ago on the podcast. When I talk about what makes you feel good doesn't always heal you. And it's talking about an honest discussion about guns. We're going to have another honest discussion this morning about the fact that what happened and you vote text is what happened at that school. Is a tragedy? What happened at school should have never happened in many ways when you had someone who decided to go into a school to use a gun and to kill people. I mean, that is was the choice that this Ramos made. He made the choice to go in there. He made the choice to kill people. He used a gun in the process. We've talked about how the many aspects of what is being proposed will not solve this, but again, as I said just a little bit ago in one of the other podcasts, was it always seems to be the very first thing that we do is to solve something is take something away from legal gun owners or legal possession to fix something that, frankly, is not going to fix.

Texas Officials Answer Lingering Questions After Disastrous Conference

"Stunning press conference from Stephen McCrory He's the director of the Texas Department of Public Safety and he helped answer some of the outstanding questions from yesterday's very disastrous press conference Again I am a big fan of law enforcement I'll call them out when they do things wrong But I generally have a bias in favor of law enforcement and even yesterday I said that that was just not a good press conference While understanding that there are times and someone who actually covers a lot of police issues I know that police sometimes have to hold information back But the way that they handled this yesterday was just awful And it would appear that some of the information that was held back was just very damning Information Very damning information as to what happened in Texas So we know that the degenerate Salvador Ramos he crashed his car he actually entered the school 5 minutes after that He entered the school through not merely an unlocked door but a door that was propped open apparently by a staff member And he spent several minutes going into a classroom firing hundreds of rounds at innocent children And staff members and it takes a certain level of soullessness glue to go up to a young kid and execute them And yet that's what this monster did Now there was no school resource officer on campus We don't know why Apparently the SRO heard the 9-1-1 call drove over to the school but when he did that apparently the shooter was kneeling behind a car And so the SRO wasn't able to spot him

"We've now learned that in fact the mayor murder was confronted when he went into the school by an armed guard And they exchanged fire and apparently as reported Ramos ran down a small hallway with short hallway And that's when he barricaded himself into the classroom Where he murdered everybody I mean the 19 children and two teachers And oddly enough last night I told you good lord he shot enough kids to be in a single classroom apparently that's what he did And one of the teachers ran to the window to try and let the kids out and he murdered her So when you have people going around yelling at the Republicans or it's the NRA and the gun law these are very cold people

"In their relationship than they should. I mean, celebrity is but an invitation to poke and prod at relationships you're not a part of. And in some ways, that's what the wife guy invites. The wife guy shoving his relationship in our face invites us to scrutinize it. It's not my fault that it's fun to be nosy online. We made entire jobs out of being voyeurs online. That's true. And frankly, the more details you can find in those voyeuristic online investigations, the more invested people on a platform like TikTok get in you because being on TikTok and having an inside scoop means eyeballs, clicks, views. But specifically on TikTok that I think that's other platforms have yet to really capitalize on. I mean, you mentioned Douma, but TikTok really seems to manage to have a breaking scoop that you can only get on that platform every so often. And it just invites people to get even more invested because if maybe you keep scrolling through your FYP, or through the tag, you might find a stripper from a club randomly posting a video of your favorite celebrity allegedly cheating on his fiance. You might. And while watching it, you might also keep in mind that there are real people on the other side of those investigations, and sometimes not all the time. But sometimes,.

"Experience with everyone. Yeah, I've been on the wife I beat for years now, and I several years ago now, woke up to an email, the subject line of which was like opportunity of a lifetime. It was Robby trip, curvy wife guy wanting to get coffee. We did. And I wrote a piece about it, and he. He did not like the piece I wrote about it. So what exactly do you think makes wife guys? So annoying? I think the best wife guy to use here as an example is, in fact, not curvy wife guy, but instead cliff wife guy. Oh. Oh. Are you familiar? I am, but for our listeners who aren't a, I love that your brain is free from this, but be Madison, can you explain what cliff last night? Sure. Cliff wife guy, I think this was like 2019. It's a guy named Sean McBride. He's at shonduras. He's been like a long time Internet influencer type across many platforms. Post this insanely dramatic video where his wife Jenny falls off a quote unquote cliff in Hawaii and they're like, it's a near death experience, and they film the whole thing. First of all, everyone's fine, so we can be having this conversation, but it was so insanely dramatic, so cloud grabby really very gross. And all rooted in this, I just love my wife so much and live every day to the fullest and like this really changes how you see the world. It was so gross. I mean, I think you get it an important part of the wife guy trope, which is that in shouting out their love for their wife, they also somehow managed to either neg their wife or display their most embarrassing moments. Do you have a favorite wife guy? Like a good one or a bad one. I mean, there are no good wife guys, but no, there are. There are good wife guys. I think that's important for this discussion. There are good way of guys. The higher you rise in kind of transcending the genre of bad wife guy, the furby you have to fall, which is why we're all looking at one mister Joshua Jackson and making sure he does not embarrass my girl, Jodie Turner-Smith because the moment he does. We ride a dawn. We are picking up our weapons. We are defending her honor. But he's an example of a good one because I think that he his love for his wife is self effacing. It's not about him. It's like, look at this hot woman who happened to love me. Am I not so lucky? I don't know. I might have to disagree with you that there are good wife guys out there. Oh. A hot take. Look, you're married her. Of course you love her. You're supposed to love her, my guy? Like, that's the deal. The more they tell us about how much they love their wives, the more we get suspicious. Like wife guides doth protest too much. I think that's accurate, which is why I think that the good wife guy manages to find the razor's edge of not posting too much about his wife. Because it is true. Once you doth protest too much, we all get suspicious. And if there's anything we've learned, is that the Internet loves nothing more than suspicion. That's true. There is nothing that the Internet likes more than suspicion. And frankly, that's what ties every single man we've talked about thus far on the show today together. Just think about what happened a few months ago with our good friend couch guy, who if you don't recall, went viral against his wishes in a video of him sitting on a couch next to a few women when his girlfriend walks in to surprise him. And all hell broke loose. TikTok went crazy. Dissecting this video and just slowing it down, frame by frame and trying to reveal this man as a cheater. Which didn't work. It didn't work, and you all need help. And you know where you can find that help, a nice episode of ICU IMI entitled TikTok's couch guy is not your friend. But since couch guy happened, TikTok has not stopped over analyzing relationships because they haven't listened to our podcast. I will say, I also fall into this trap, and by far to this trap, I mean TikTok has deduced that I want videos about this shit. I feel like every other video on my FYP lately is about somebody else's relationship is either a happy couple which shaking crying throwing up. Or it's this video that has like 4 million views and it looks completely innocuous and I'm sitting here trying to figure out why this has so many views and why is on my FYP and then I look at the comments and it's just a bunch of people playing relationship forensic investigator, like they are bones but for relationships on TikTok. So this TikTok is set to California girls by Katy Perry. And it's part of this trend where, at the beginning of the video, one of the people in the relationship, they pull generally the guy into the screen, and he looks like, I don't want to be here. And then he does his dance. Yay, I'm here. You brought me here and I'm happy to be in this relationship with you. But the caption reads when your boyfriend won't do the dance with you, but his roommate will. So you look at this video and you're like, oh, what a cute couple. And then you look at the caption and you're like, oh. And in the background, it's clearly a college dorm. Her boyfriend. We laying on the bunk bed, looking at his phone, not paying attention in any way, shape or form. And everyone in the comments is just like, girl, his friends are waiting in the wings. Like girl get out. He does not like you. And I saw this and was just like, I'm sorry. Didn't we just do this? I'm gonna suspend my disbelief for a minute and pretend that those videos you just described to me are real. I'm on the record and we'll die on this hill that they are not. But if they are real, I just find myself again shouting into the void like, we don't know these people. It's the same that I had watching that TikTok of Anthony Ramos in the strip club with a woman who was not his fiance, we don't know what their relationship was like what the terms of it were like what the conditions of it were like. This might have been totally normal. We don't know how they've negotiated their relationship, and the fact that they split up afterwards could have nothing to do with this video. Of course, it also could, but it's just, again, we don't know these people, they're not our Friends. We were not in the strip club. I'm just shocked that we've managed to make it this long until this episode without mentioning parents socially. I was really really trying not to say it, but that's what we're describing. Especially in regards to Anthony Ramos and Jasmine safest Jones because they're actual celebrities. People on TikTok are attempting to accumulate celebrity, but Ramos and safest Jones are actually legitimately stars, which means that people have even more of an investment.

All right, we're back and ready to grab our pipes and our deer stalker caps and our magnifying glasses. Except what? Dear stalker caps. It's what Sherlock Holmes wears, the little like plaid cap with the side flaps, the tie up over his head. The name is dear soccer? Yeah, I think it's like originally a hunting cap. I don't actually know that, but etymologically, I mean that thing. But I mean if it doesn't refer to hunting, then I'm really scared about what else a deer stalking had. Just, you know, bamboo got it out for him, better watch out. Except we don't actually need any of those props because TikTok's already done all of the sleuthing for us. So the Ramos saga began with an account. The handle is dear Jane one and they basically share just a shit ton of celeb blind items about undisclosed name of UFC fighter or DJ or actor. The TikTok that's about Ramos just describes him as a Latino actor. I feel like we should also note that we are in a post and while economy, there are so many quote unquote blind items that are just roaming the Internet on fact check and totally false. Kind of incredible that this panned out. Yeah, I mean, every single time it's like this celebrity was spotted with this person. I'm just like, I'm gonna file that away for potential, maybe facts, but mostly just to bring up at a party. So the original TikTok by at dear Jane one is our favorite kind of TikTok here on I see why am I because it's only music with text on screen. So here's one from Gabi Whiting with a quick summary of the drama. If you are a sorry Rachel, a Hamill fan, this is all gonna seem extremely Reynolds pamphlet. Breaking news, Anthony Ramos and Jasmine cifa Jones have ended their engagement. They were together for 6 years, they met during Hamilton, but how this news broke is what's interesting. Yesterday, a woman who works in a strip club uploaded a video on TikTok talking about when she was working, how he came in with a girl who was not Jasmine and was all over her. She included a little video of them at the end. He didn't specify any names, but needless to say, the TikTok investigators figured it out. Clearly, some damage control needs to be done and People magazine released this article this morning. The devil works are but messy TikTok works harder. So that's an example of the tiktoks that circulated after the news broke. It's a fairly serious one, but it's TikTok, so people can't help but make a shit ton of jokes. So here's one from actually one of my favorite TikTokers who screen name is Wakanda on the weekends. Just like your damn daddy. Am I surprised not on the sliders? The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. You did say you wanted to be like your father. I'll give you that, but we thought it was gonna be some successful lawyer. A politician. Or writer, that is. Not you being a damn adulterer. She literally. She's not actually talking about Anthony Ramos his father, of course, she's talking about Alexander Hamilton, because Anthony Ramos played Alexander Hamilton's son in the original Broadway cast. This man looks like a damn amphibian. He looks like and along with these videos, Ramos name also trended on Twitter with most commentators questioning how he could dare to cheat on miss Jasmine, which, again, fair. I think my favorite moment in this saga was when it went into platform. So after the TikTok has gone viral, but before the PR approved, press announcement in people, there was a moment where people were watching both Jasmine safest Jones and her father actor Ron safest Jones. Checking out their Instagram posts and they both appeared to have deleted their birthday posts to Anthony. I love that. Messy. I love mess. Celebrity cheating on their partners does seem pretty much par for the course. But we do need to talk about why this particular instance has been so newsy. Enter stage left, the wife guy. Wife guys are the type of man who are endlessly to the point of seeming disingenuine, obsessed with loving their wives. Very vocally loving their wives. Yeah, yeah, one of the classic examples of a wife guy. Perhaps the definer of the genre is the curvy wife guy. AKA Robbie trip, AKA Madison's favorite person in the world. Who went viral for this long ass Instagram post, talking about how much he loves his not skinny wife. His conventionally attractive wife. And that's what the Internet picked up on. He was roundly made fun of at the time. We actually got into this recently in his sleep piece, but I discussed both Anthony Ramos and Kirby wife guy with a few colleagues. We'll include a link in the show notes. But Madison, you have some personal.

"You have a play coming your podcast. Yeah absolutely killing it man. Yeah man house so rob. What do you have to say those people coming right behind you any advice for those just starting out. Don't do nanking right on. that's it thanks. Guys know bro. Make your work One of the things that i realized when when i booked heels was there was a i could find a direct connection between writing that play that i did in new york and booking heels because of the people that i met through that play that and introduced me to my manager that then eventually landed me heels and it was because i wrote that play that i met some of these people so my my advice is always make your own work even while you're doing and as a matter of your sketch of your does it matter to make your own work Pull your workout. They're put yourself out there and you never know it's not you might not get on. Snl do but you might meet somebody who who gets you something else or who helps you meet somebody. Who's going to be your your creative partner. I mean you don't so make your own work. That's that's the only way it happens. Really it's just the knowing. It's the i'm fifty met somebody here from this. I did it for free. I didn't know that it would lead to something but absolutely make your own stuff not not only making your own work but volunteering other other people's as well you know i mean it is it is just. It's all about the collaboration and community and this person knowing that person so Absolutely i lumped that advice. He played the abolitionist john. Lawrence and alexander hamilton. son philip. You got into acting school. Anna was just so wild to think that like teaming up with the two women that gave me a shot they. They are the ones helping me do that for someone else innocent. How special is that. You know. "Right. Yeah it was a great example of that two thousand two world cup for the us. Don't lose that match instead. We would've played italy but we got to play mexico and much lower comfortable beating the next group. Unfortunately ed had to play the random style drill. Yeah okay thanks for the memory case if you don and stevie how would you. Oh how'd you inspired the scottish team to go into wembley win. He's gone into wembley in want. So you just say do what we did. We'll eat it play for pride. yeah Would you got webley the england if they go beyond. That's exactly what happened. You get that early goal. And it's exotic told us because the game hamden was a tight affair no game all day long and the analysis. We don't on england. We had you know where the english players were going from white. Free kicks on the right side. Left side corners left side corners. Whiteside skulls never made his way into the box. He did twice at honda and score. Two headers skorts. You head is in his life. So we zo an off psyche. It was a tight game and we went to wembley thing in school. The first call we can And we beat them. And then david seaman for saving the last seconds of christian dailly if that goes to new england ingeborg on down this quarter scotland that day. Dunno handsome chuck. Do you think the one on. Don't you think clarke's taken a clip. Definitely the head tennis and the diving header from yesterday to read. I'm expecting the phone to ring me and barely above quote stevie..

"Did you booth on. It's going to sign with palm at the age of forty three going back to where it began playing in the second division. Hold on you hold on you asking why. Let's see why why is before continuing to play now in the second division. Think because he loves playing one of those people who you know you kind of feel like you're going to have to carry him off the pitch genuinely attached to to department for obvious reasons. They're their owner krauss. Obviously they went down putting money into the team and he just wants to keep playing and some people are saying. Oh go he just wants another gig so we can extend his record of appearances and say no. You'll go to sadie and deal with it there. I'll tell you what. I generally think in his mind when he went back to you from paris is your man he thought. Oh maybe maybe i'll be able to unseat chesney. I love that about and that's what makes them so good. He's so confident. I think he feels he can do a job. He signed for almost no money. And let's see how he does. It won't be good enough. It'd be maybe he will love it you do. I love that. Yeah four three year. Old going into saturday bay and still wanting to play hunger to play rather than just chasing a move way magister on the bench and be a number two or number three or retire hanging out or retired so gone planes. Sorry can't help hamas. Let's see what sergio monsters he's not going to go into. Who's the goal came and said the bomber. Then i'm not sure he's going to play. You don't like it. You don't not even in a romantic sense going back. If he's going back to coach go back to be a part of the the the staff you've done at forty three even can't help siri team. I'd be surprised really. Yeah it'd be surprised. La great leadership. Great there but i don't know if he's going to come up with the save that they need stevie on the field. He's not going to be fantastic. The professionalism has the naming. Ha's expediency highs is going to be great for all the other players the football club but on the field of play. He's done. he's donnie kalash. Show what you think. What do you think does he have. What does he have left in terms of use here. We saw him play last season and he wasn't as good at shows knee in my opinion by he was good enough. You've it played him in a bunch of games. I think between the games and the cup games i would imagine. He played fifteen twenty games season close to it so he was obviously to to do that. He felt like he was the third goalkeeper only he was yuba scott carson or something who never plays. He was good enough that they trust them with the number two with president goes and embrace his kneecap on february first. Hey you're taking the rest of the way. So they had enough faith in there. They didn't need to be could've brought in a third keeper if they thought he was going to be rubbish. So to me that says that you know you may have made some mistakes. But they rated him enough and so yeah. I don't see why he can't do a job in city of beef for another season. He knows his body well and when he can't do it anymore you'll give up or they'll bench him. I don't think whatever problem and benching him if not getting it done..

"Benitez your thoughts. It doesn't feel like a good fit to me. Not for the personnel. Have at the moment for the personnel looking at a very defensive minded coach still lives on merseyside. That's the easy draw for him. It's the easy pick for him if he takes seven. I'm not sure this is going to end. Well stevie you agree phone this a little strange. Listen there's no question that that is a good coach. But i wasn't a huge fan of the wheel of apu please under them. You know the fact that the fact that he sat back when he's at home unfilled against teams comedy unfilled phone that completely wrong because i was brought with the complete opposite. And so i said defensive style as settling the owners an hierarchy. I've been talking about trying to revolutionize ever the bringing oldest money in the buying players who attack hamas being being the obvious one straight off the bat you think hamas is going to get a free role on the rough prediction because that's like sexy appointment because he's a big name rafeh right but it doesn't fit it doesn't fit and you constantly new lease he's performances of other style of management weren't great and the not sexy manager. I think would have better suited evident the moment someone graham potter brighton. I think he's done unbelievable. Job is improved every single player. But he for some reason won't get linked with the evidence job. I think that to me would have been a better fit than ready. Maybe coming in for eighteen months probably not work and then cost him millions to try and move on. I think also tricky. When you've coached your rival you've had some words or at least the fans think you said some derogatory things about the club and then you gotta go in there. And how much time do you get to win them over. Well let me tell you. I have to do that. That was it livable. When i was young then went to and later on. So you've got to win them over so rougher benitez now i've been living manager is going to have to get after unbelievable start hung overtones back inside. How different is it from. When he was a chelsea in terms of winning winning the fans over where he didn't yeah it didn't and they did not accept him since day one and he struggled and he lasted what seasonal seasonal just overseas and. So i don't think evertonians are going to be too happy. Gab was still got you on here what do you think of any test everton. Good idea bad idea. Yeah he did win. The did win the euro. Police chelsea was always an interim appointment. But but don is perfectly People never respected him but they never loved them Like he desperately wanted to get back. I don't think to progressive appointment at all. He's very good at what he does. But equally maybe interest a little too romantic. I just kind of feel that happens in italy all the time fine but that's not great either. I don't think you should go. Coach your rival. Not when you're so strongly identified with liverpool winning the european cup and it's going to make life difficult for said. Does the whole agent rafa was trending on twitter. Remember back when he called everton. A small club Stuffy said he only people are gonna use that to hammer him and things are going to be really really tough. Yeah that's the funny one step especially off the back of on july you can see why moss and fahd machinery and bill kenwright. Want the big name. You can see it because if you went from nonchalantly to suggestion grandpa still the person i would have chosen. Put my name forward. Going from angelo di. Graham potter might not appease the fans so therefore the gone for the rafa benitez and what we've gone ancelotti got rafa. Benitez was still serious. Thing is well respected across europe. Well respected as forever. Yeah he thinks. Oh i think so. Yeah it's faded. But it's it's still there just about looking over newcastle really. Bumped up to that sean. I just ended in tears more news today from around europe..

"You what there's one thing pet looking and looking at seven eight nine ten fixtures and he's looking at one facial as the first one of the season and always interested in is preparing for an actually some change when you have a so called big test rate in the start if you komo the rate shade set you up for the rest not just the next two or three games but that says you out for the rest of the season so i don't think bald. Now he's facing nobody beats the night tottenham pizza to nothing of top my head. Yup so you'll be. You'll be analyzed and what went wrong in that game for sure. It's not a big concern. I mean you're gonna play those teams anyway at some point a rough start to the season. I don't ever remember once looking at affects you lesson going. Who full seven games. Look at how i remember. We we started. We asked me fox game of the season. Ata beat them two one. Yeah but that's the only the only game we looked up. If you're a manager and you'll picking and choosing you want a nice little start at ease then yeah yeah if you could get but i think it's more important for teams that are fighting relegation. That are fighting for the title. Because i think if you're fighting relegation you wanna come in the league and you want to pick up points. You don't wanna go three four games into the season and already put yourself in a hole for what too many wins inside the first five or six games city. Can i tell you deserve to win. The title cannot you know who you don't want the false game of the season. A team is being promoted because you talk about a cup final against you and it's the first game of the season where maybe you're not quite ready so liverpool ishaq's boop will teach you three or four games to get any straight and all this so let's a couple of years ago norwich liverpool norwich. They'll be on a team. That's come up. I'm telling you you'd rather have knowledge talk about never said i'm just telling you as a player and as you call you. Don't want a team that's just come up. Didn't orch meet man city two years ago. What does that mean that means the search for them seriously again. Like nfl final bill. Yeah wanting we didn't see on that seven for manchester city everton. That is the first seven matches of the season for pep guardiola and company. Sometimes we make a lot out of this but man. That's that's a tough start to see. It's tough tough locker fiction trying to look at a block of fixtures where you can get a really good start still mark to a great start. Obviously but i don't think anyone's got his toughest. I guess if there's a sense of relief from manchester city fans i didn't get off to a great start last season stevie so run away with the league. "The voice he's messing around or not doesn't doesn't change really should study the guys the guys getting bit. Well he didn't really get big win. Look at this reaction. That's not a guy who got bit there. Yeah but then. He grabbed them. And it's almost like the grab was worse than the than the little things that we play against each other so he's really gets being chelsea for many many years though probably be. They'll have been talking every single team that played against each other messing around the ways grabbing them to me is he's messing around and that's what it is. I think the situation right unless you wanna percent sure the you can to see he intentionally. Then you can't send them off but rudiger's putting themselves at risk billings is really silly shoop. Yeah we've got. Julian laurent still with choose. What's been the reaction to this. In france being really interesting because as you said paul pogba was very clear very very quick to say this is nothing beautiful yellow red cards. It was nothing with friends as we saw quotes and franz the perspective different over the referee and now just on this incident over the whole game. The french fell down with israel. Which by the way. I never ever. Before referee in euros was young and inexperienced. The french media fell down and they've gone to senate extent as well and some of the players felt that it was never really in sort of the game. There was a few incidents. Maybe a second yellow for kimmage when he hit lucas on in the face was w the big clash between goossens and pavon in the second half there was maybe the penalty from homers as if there was a few things like this and that the bite. Because it's a bite. I don't care what you're saying. A love bite or beaten one hundred percent and da just adds to the list again. The french not asking for anything and you are not going to shoot these and is probably the right thing to do. I think good. Let's not forget the comments that he had the day before the game when he said we're gonna go dirty on them going to play dirty. You can't be too nice with the team like this. We have to be aggressive and be dirty with them. And i think that's what it did in goossens did the same does what rudy gobert did. It wasn't enough. But i have to be careful what the senate did coming into the next few games. Germany surprised there hasn't been a big reaction casing a little bit. I mean i think you gotta give a lot of credit. Because i think pogo wanted it to be a bigger deal. It would be a bigger deal and but again when when you're used to seeing a bite you've seen some bites little. She's a nibble nibble. Yeah well i guess we should go with the victim right. If the victim says it wasn't able he would know best so Speaking.

"Win three nothing but it could have been four nothing. Let's go back to the waved off goal from gallini and the eighteen. Th minute this is one of those moments and the rule shifts you know. Almost monthly now But this has been a gold on no not under the current laws and not under the laws next season. That trying to relax this law maxine across the you like the rule. I don't mind you know next season if that falls to teammate of kaylene. He's and he scores. We'll be allowed. It just seems to contradict myself. It seems a little bit harsh from the air that we came. Because you know it's accidental. But at the same time. I am completely relaxed about because he benefits from the humble with surely feels wrong. Stephen i think the route fantastic. You're not many rules. You can make black and white and They'll make everybody happy and will stop an argument. This one is great. If the ball strikes anybody's hand in your team that means you end up scoring a goal disallowed couldn't as he can argue with that. It could next season hand a team by e scores. That's allowed right so it's getting relaxed so it's good. Yeah no. I think anytime soon said black and white. It's nice because then all of us on the pitch fans owners. Everybody can just say this is what. Va are showed its right. And there's no argument and we can all just go back down and get on with the magic. It's been quite the run for the italians. Not just in this tournament but leading into it came in today's twenty eight games on beaten. Roberto mancini certainly turned this team around And it's not just the results right. It's the style of play gab. How much credit does many deserve for for what we're seeing from italy. He deserves a tremendous amount of credit came in and his coaching.

"Tired of being hungry all the time a motor for you being in in the heights which is a very idealized presentation of a block and the people living on it where there's like everybody's singing and dancing and everybody basically likes each other a lot and is there to support each other. You know even when circumstances get bad and you grew up in a neighborhood where it was violent. You saw terrible things. You felt traumatized So can you describe a bit. What what's been like to star in this very idealized version of a neighborhood because the thing about it is right. Every neighborhood got it stings like you hear the. It'd be the nicest neighborhood ever and you like your own deed on opium whatever yeah. I thought that. I thought they were fine. He was just in school yesterday. Like it's like that's that's why everybody's going through something it don't matter them when you're rich poor. Whatever life still happens right and that's why you know what i'm grateful for is that there was a lot of good to the music culture where i grew up it was rich was a rich thousand kids being inventive. You know. even if we didn't have cable we'd be in the backyard. We played football. We played spongebob baseball. We'd be out there to the wee hours of the night playing manhunt tag. All of that. Like nothing with these phones the social media so we were actually talking to each other. You know yet they were. There were moments of trauma and stuff like that. But yeah when you live in a neighborhood where everybody's just scraping by you know. of course. yeah people wanna rob you. Were going to do what they gotta do. But at the end of the day like there was so much good to in. And that's what i love about in the heights because we've seen the movies about the hood and we've seen the movies about people shooting people doing this selling drugs and doing whatever. But i'm grateful that we have a movie about a neighbor like washington heights where we just. We see people love on each other and embracing each other and dancing together in the street as singing about where they from the mini game republic in puerto rico and mexico and cuba and diverse cast coming together as celebrate and not only the community but where they come from celebrating life. You know especially after the year and a half. We've had where people haven't even been able to connect with each other. You know what. I'm saying. Like i know what. You're saying a celebration. Yeah one of the things that you're doing now is that you're in a cavern clyde underwear ad campaign in these really sexy poses like with your pants down the underwear showing and bare-chested and did you ever imagine yourself in that kind of image. Did you think of yourself like yeah. I'm sexy no i still. I mean i still gotta wake waco some days. It'd be like your man. You're good enough. You know freshman sophomore and junior year. But i was being a little hard headed. My aunt politely asked me to leave. I moved back in mother. I don't even know can't even remember what the what those essays but. I'm sure sarah would remember. I know i have to write about my life. "That they're almost thank you so much for doing this. I would thank you. I am happy to be here. Your mom's Costa Rican. Puerto Rican growing up. What were the messages? You got about Healthy Living actually we did not talk about Healthy Living. I really the only thing I could really remember my dad saying was no too fast foods. So we always ate at home. He felt that fast foods were unhealthy. So the rice and beans and meat, you know, lots of plantains, you know, that's just how I grew up very traditional in culturally food-wise and nobody ever went to the gym. I mean that was unheard of growing up your parents, especially your dad like so many immigrants parents really big on the value of Education was the dream always to be a doctor. I always say my father brainwashed me ever since I was in first grade. He said look, the only way to progress in the United States is to get a diploma get a degree get some sort of recognition through education. He gave me three choices. He goes you either become a doctor a lawyer engineer pick one song. I just want to tell you every one's listening right now and raising their hand cuz it's like yeah. Those are those are the options. So I kept hearing that of course as a kid, you're like, oh God now, he's known knowing me and you know, I just want to be a kid, but I did realize probably around fourth or fifth grade that I was actually achieving significant goals and scores things came not easily but with studying and hard work, I think there was a positive impact. So that was a self reinforcement of I can actually do this. I'll be okay. If my mom had to work two jobs and my dad had to work two jobs. Why get the MS instead of going directly to medical school? So that was the argument I had with my dad for a few years when I told him I was going to probably not to a traditional biology undergraduate. I wanted to do nutrition and in my head I said well as if I was a nutritionist or dietician I could get a job. Okay, so I was a little pragmatic from the beginning. He was like, I don't know. I hope you can go to medical school, but then I decided I really thought having a bachelor's in nutrition was not enough that it needed to have a master's in order to get an acceptable sort of position. My dad was disappointed. He thought I let him down I think looking back he realizes that I took a little bit of a longer route, but he actually thinks it was probably a smart move on to UMDNJ now known as Rutgers School of biomedical and Health Sciences for your birth. What was that moment for you? Oh goodness from the beginning. I think that by the time I had applied for my life have been you know, pretty successful. I got a full scholarship for all four years at UMDNJ for my tuition. They had a very supportive system at the medical school down as Hispanic Center of Excellence. They had some infrastructure to help but I think in my mind I did not have the basic tools. Of really how to sit down how to study how to organize my thoughts. That was something I kind of haphazardly learned on my own but it wasn't taught by my parents. It was thought by anyone had no organizational skills. I was all over the map.
