"Tired of being hungry all the time a motor for you being in in the heights which is a very idealized presentation of a block and the people living on it where there's like everybody's singing and dancing and everybody basically likes each other a lot and is there to support each other. You know even when circumstances get bad and you grew up in a neighborhood where it was violent. You saw terrible things. You felt traumatized So can you describe a bit. What what's been like to star in this very idealized version of a neighborhood because the thing about it is right. Every neighborhood got it stings like you hear the. It'd be the nicest neighborhood ever and you like your own deed on opium whatever yeah. I thought that. I thought they were fine. He was just in school yesterday. Like it's like that's that's why everybody's going through something it don't matter them when you're rich poor. Whatever life still happens right and that's why you know what i'm grateful for is that there was a lot of good to the music culture where i grew up it was rich was a rich thousand kids being inventive. You know. even if we didn't have cable we'd be in the backyard. We played football. We played spongebob baseball. We'd be out there to the wee hours of the night playing manhunt tag. All of that. Like nothing with these phones the social media so we were actually talking to each other. You know yet they were. There were moments of trauma and stuff like that. But yeah when you live in a neighborhood where everybody's just scraping by you know. of course. yeah people wanna rob you. Were going to do what they gotta do. But at the end of the day like there was so much good to in. And that's what i love about in the heights because we've seen the movies about the hood and we've seen the movies about people shooting people doing this selling drugs and doing whatever. But i'm grateful that we have a movie about a neighbor like washington heights where we just. We see people love on each other and embracing each other and dancing together in the street as singing about where they from the mini game republic in puerto rico and mexico and cuba and diverse cast coming together as celebrate and not only the community but where they come from celebrating life. You know especially after the year and a half. We've had where people haven't even been able to connect with each other. You know what. I'm saying. Like i know what. You're saying a celebration. Yeah one of the things that you're doing now is that you're in a cavern clyde underwear ad campaign in these really sexy poses like with your pants down the underwear showing and bare-chested and did you ever imagine yourself in that kind of image. Did you think of yourself like yeah. I'm sexy no i still. I mean i still gotta wake waco some days. It'd be like your man. You're good enough. You'll man now you you know like you still have those days where you're like man my ears a big. My eyes look like piss. You know. I got this strand here. That won't go down. You know what. I'm saying like this like like reminds us of yoga. You okay you gene and That was funny. My brother used to say to the umbrella would be. Hey you're going to be underwear model. Because i'll be working on the crib on the wheel of time laughing making jokes like that. May i'm telling you bro workout. you'll you'll be underwear model. Kevin kline thing him. I was so surprised. I was like what they had. The right person and It was wild. I like rap. This movie shooting in budapest. Run out of budapest traveled. Twenty one hours back to los angeles to do this photo. Shoot whether any poses. You were asked to do. You said no no. That's that's just too much. I'm not gonna do that or that. That just seems silly. I'm not gonna do that anything that i might have. "Episode is coming out so for the first episode of season two. I am so honored to say that anthony ramos is my guest. I have been a fan of his music and talent for a long time. We talk about so many things from the stigma around mental health guys hamilton. Behind the scene stories of course the new album. He's working on filming the movie in the heights. Tau he's actually creating a musical and we talk about a very special charity. He works with that. I'm so excited for you guys to hear about and finally this was recorded before the election. So that is why we did not talk about it. I hope you enjoy the first episode of season two anthony. I'm so excited to my podcast. You have no idea to happen. We come on. actually. I saw you in concert in brooklyn. Wow one of the best concerts. i've been to genuinely one of the best. I think one of the reasons why. I love it because you gave context before every song and you kind of explain the lyrics and actually learning difference in auditory processing so allowed me to understand the lyrics and the music on an entirely different level. So i think more should be doing that. My gosh. she just made my whole day. We end the interview right now. This is amazing. Thing to have your. That's so awesome. I'm glad you're. I'm glad there for because i try to do that. I was like did you go to so many shows. you like. Dang i wish i could understand clearance in the context behind found him. Yeah yeah yeah you know and like where did this song come from and like some songs in our personal right but like but but when they are like yo wanna know like who was that. Who was that person you talk about. The first versa was that. When did that happen to you. Like what was that time in your life you know. How old were you where were you. You know what. I'm saying like that kind of thing kind of just makes me feel more connected to the song you know even as as the same as an audience member. Yeah well i also think that the good and bad is so brilliant. Because it's this it's like it's kind of like a movie. It's the chapter of your chapter of your life that it's told so eloquently and it's kind of like a show. Yeah yeah yeah you know what's crazy is like when i was writing all these songs like they were all like little movies in my head. You know like making a movie craze out. I started talking. I started thinking about it. I was thinking about how to develop this as a as a as fell more mute movie musical. I don't know if we're going to do it but it was like some house like this story. Hit like like all we gotta do is put some by logging between a regatta story. Yeah yeah imagine being like an animation. Now be so thick but you know it was crazy life even so even like So from ucla is the fourth song album and one more hour is the third and one more hour. It was like about the two people who had this like long night and they were hanging out on shelves right. Yeah and then. At the end of the song i was like. Y'all would've we had because the next song was about vacation. I took with my fiance mcgraw. Jasmine went to puerto. Rico as i would have. We had likes the piano at the end. Guess dreamy like if you close your eyes you can hit so that we put birds at the end is just about to say those little those little things that you put in it like sets it up for the next song so it flow so perfectly as though i'm glad you i'm glad to dig it. Yeah yeah we. Yeah i mean i ca. I lost my favorite part about our together to like like. I love putting out singles but my favorite part about making music is like being able to whole body of work together and really like peace. The songs together like i. What goes where. Why does this go here are we. Will we need uptempo here. We wanna feel pulse right here. You know what i'm saying. It's those little things that really make it altogether that a lot of people don't notice One of my favorite songs figure it out and there's a line in it Why am i pushing away with silent task to say and when i heard that i was like that is so powerful though. I was wondering how you came up with that line. I was having a hard time really Really dealing with myself in all just really having a hard time dealing with myself and a guest with myself in the silence to you know. I think there's a thing that comes with being silent. Now we have phones and now we have all these things to distract us. Right in in i was just kinda like downs. Who else like depressed like tan. Like why am. I feeling like this in In in what is this recurring theme in my life. That keeps happening that. I can't like i can't just shut my mind off. I don't know how to sit quietly mike. I'm always doing something always like. I'm like working on talking on a phone or might sex and somebody will listen to the music always like like on watching something or like like so. That was where that lyric came from. You know why. Am i pushing away. Silence has to say you know. Why do i push through. The daily tomorrow is gonna figure it out. You know like someone else will figure it out. You'd think about even right now like you know. Even now in the world had to stop and we're seeing this like for example black lives matter been around for Seven years that actual organization. I think rights is on in the seventh year coming on seven. But like this is this year views like this crazy. Wave of twenty. Twenty if we're if you feel me but like in the middle of a pandemic when we're when we weren't winning we've all had to stop you know and i think like this thing. When we stopped up the truth the truth makes his way to the service. And you can't even the and it's always been there but because right you can't can't you can't avoid your your brother or your sister your mommy that whoever you quarantine with your significant of you cannot ignore whatever compensations. Y'all may have not had before you do quarantine all in the house to like. You know what. I'm saying like found can only keep you busy for so long during quarantine only so many so much. Tv you can watch and and there's only so many times you could take somebody before you look at that person and you're sitting across mitch on so nighttime we we should talk about this. I also feel like with your music. You're just your. There's this weird stigma that like is can like have feelings or be down or the anxious or depressed and i just think you like you word it so perfectly that it's so normal but like i'm curious why you don't think it's talked about enough. You know to be honest with you. I don't know why Does this thing about like this thing about men. I think that we have sometimes that we feel week. If we're vulnerable vulnerability weakness ri- right as opposed to in our as opposed to Someone who was not afraid to be like you know. I think we substitute sadness with anger. I think men mostly are at least maseru. Most of them in ahmed right and i know myself to right. We substitute sadness with anger. We like it's not it's like it's always like i'm frustrated but it's like most of.

To get a trophy. I. Love Girls Night in and What I loved about it was. Being an introvert I think most people assume I'm an extrovert because I'm very like loud online but I someone once described you know being introverted versus x rated as where'd you get your energy with other? When you're by yourself and for me, it's when I'm by myself. Yeah I. was also always a yes person and I really had a hard time saying no to anything and and girls night in was sort of the first time anyone that was like not my therapist was like you can just walk off time for yourself and if someone asks you if you're busy, you can just say, yes and you don't have to tell them what you're like. You don't have to like lie and say like, no, I have work than no I'm yeah off time and to know that there were other people. who also felt that way and who would also rather be like kind of spending that time with themselves was was very helpful because I always felt. Like the one extra in I mean in a sea of extroverts and and felt like, I was missing something by to like recharge my myself. While I'm so glad to hear that and I I remember you mentioning that you were an introvert during one of your previous episodes and I was also surprised because. We all have our Internet personas. I'm definitely more gregarious and outgoing online than I am in person but. I'm glad to hear that and it's it's funny because we also have a lot of readers who identify as extroverted and team members to which has been interesting. So I think it's it's definitely introversion paradise like Jianye, but I also think there's something for extroverts to who need permission to like set boundaries. We all need permission to set Andre So. Yeah that's very yeah. Yeah. We all need permission to set boundaries I think. I think quarantine for me and I don't know how you feel about it. Lately. I've been going back and looking on instagram at everyone's like March twenty third posts which are very funny because it had only been like maybe six days and like. Quarantine like what?.

"Hello everybody. My name is Jordan Fronta but enough about me, my guest today is a star of stage screen and song it sounds like a cliche. But in this case, there's no other way to put it. He truly has done it all. You probably know him from the original cast of Hamilton or the hit Netflix series she's gotTa have it or appearing alongside lady Gaga on a star is born. Last fall he dropped his debut solo album good and the bad a series of soulful tracks that tell the story of his remarkable life so far you think global pandemic might slow him down, but you'd be wrong. He has a new single stop which explores the beauty of staying still just a little bit. Maybe one of the only good things that come from the COVID Tenek I'm so happy to welcome empty Ramos. Thank you so much for being here. It's such an honor. Him so you've been so busy these last few years you've gone from filming in the Heights. To recording your debut solo album filming she's got a habit, and now you're sitting still like how you adjusting all downtime man dude I think. I think it's been nice. It's been nice actually. I had that much downtime. But I've had more than than than usual and it's been really nice to be to just. One in an apartment that I pay rent for I'm saying like not on a place where like you and I love traveling, I love working I. Love. Doing things and seeing things and experience in you you. Thanks. But I, really am hyped an and just like. For this time I've had an owner. Just, is really made me appreciate it more more like after this. I think being home. As much as I can't will be at the top of my mind way more than it was in for. I before your where we go. And now, working on my second album Adam almost done. So. So we're. In, thick of on his acquaintances. Labor was like y'all. Great you're feeling productive I. Feel like I hear both sides I hear people that are like all right I'm here I'm going to work so hard Oh. There's people that are just like i. just am not feeling right now you're feeling inspired right now. No really fire for sure yeah man. Because you know I. Think there was pressure that I put on myself at the start of this and will first of all, I was like how not going to deal with this this is a whole new way of life that have not experienced I don't know ever and as far as like. Learning how to be still actually likes finding comfort in being still. So there was two weeks I was just trying to get over that, and then after that, it was like Oh shit. I make. How do I? WanNa do like like write songs now. DO I. Don't know what do I do I script I don't know why I don't know what to do right now myself in and they were On. The people toast in about if you're an artist, this is the time to make art. But I don't feel as fired all those by the art. and. This I think wasn't he wasn't until maybe a month until April which oddly enough was like the Armageddon period. I would call a New York anyway was who lives in New York in. New, York in April knows that that was like a crazy here. The hospitals were full like we signed never heard sirens like the way I heard them. In so-so. So that was wild I think in that time. has started to accept like what like life is going to be where it is at the moment and then I think then the creativity anthony then then the spark to write songs into. To do stuff kinda naturally happened in a stop Kinda. Kinda happened when a stock forced myself to. To work I was you know Force myself to work for the sake of doing it right like I was just kinda doing it just because like cycle. What else among to do but then? Like. Nine actually like is okay if I just want to sit on the couch watch Harry Potter. That's fine. I can do that as much as I want to do that. I should actually do that as much as I want to do that right like. In, and then when I feel compelled to write a song or they'll come out to move and put the pencil. On. The phone and. then. We'll do that. So I think. That was kind of the natural progression. Tell me about your new single stop I mean to me it sounds like sort of Zen lessons learned from from lockdown being present being in the moment is slowing down what is the genesis of that songs that sort of everything you just mentioned like learning how to just sort of be still the genesis has. What was was interesting about that song was written. I would say days before I came back to New York and probably a week and a half before I found out that we were going to lockdown on wasn't even about. When I'm going through now but it sounds Wow is crazy like best song was about what I was going through before this. So that's I. Mean I go back to what I was saying about those first two weeks when. Dealing with the readout. Of now being the lockdown at how how was I gonNA? House like. Adapt to that because I lived that way like some people are good in silence on people know how to just like read a book and show for all day and they find peace in that like. I'm just. Going like, what am I doing with my life right now josh be seeing friends or I should be. Working on something and That mentality like I've had for years and I think, I, mean to be honest. Some of it comes from growing up in a way where you feel like. I have nothing in after to everything to just get something was funny like I had a baseball coach who says my brother actually say to to say Yo you know when you sleep somebody else someone else's is trying to take his spot. When you sleep someone else working hard. And and it's almost like so you grow up now now at twenty eight years old is almost like I feel guilty went up like to sleep. For sleepy for for resting. I being still because it's like a still someone is out there working auditing and then and this time it's taught like so I wrote a song about. This song is me saying I WANNA learn how to do that one learn how to stop and then the world stopped. And we were like learned other do it you know a song that was about one woman because it out more than. You know and I think that's that's the beauty in in. In the music and this song stop from you know it's like a I I sometimes I wish my life was like a photograph double tap. The good wasn't just photoshop the bad. I put them in my wallet in my pocket if I needed an God of alive, don't work like that. Sometimes I feel like I'm a Nike Zone. Attract even if my cedar even when my Cedar up my mind is running fast when I'm holding on getting piece children going Kinda hate it but my life works like that. And then right and then we go into like like sunsets over water skies full of technicolor is beauty right in front of you. There's so much to discover if you stop and breathe it in for the moment stopping, give it a minute in your own stop it. It's only just begun right by every moment. Like when you stepped in only just begun soon, it'll be almost over. So stop see what comes into focus stops crazy. What you notice stop it's like a setting sun soon, it'll be almost over stop right like I think we always acquaint some of the most beautiful. Cycle what a beautiful sunset what have. You ever heard that what an ugly sunset. Never, but you have to stop to see that taking how beautiful that sunset is. The sunset only happens for this much time. And then it's gone. A beautiful message what we all need right now if I can't believe that was written before all this it's so perfect. It just really you're right couch at the moment..

"Was wondering is this making up for when i heard you tell her hey ramos you're in in while you student acting student everybody else getting all the job interviews you're not i'm wondering if that's part of what you make up for and you wouldn't be in place by taking all the roads that i couldn't get when i started it out i n y you i study what the best acting teachers like all my friends and all my wife's gonna file additions a day and i'm gonna want every few months into the drug dealer right and it's which i'm incredibly demeaning and putting a negative image on screen which we don't need yeah maybe i maybe i am overcompensating for all those times you know it's possible i mean i do have a blast on stage i mean i really enjoy myself now you know denzel washington came down and he said you know what's the most important show he'd seen onstage stage in a long time and you know it's it's striking other people to you know i think it's unifying show it's not a it's not a divisive show how did you come to montezuma is just slightly feminine well you know there's a lot of research and then i didn't realize that there was some plays and books they had made those same assumptions that i made because montezuma which was captured by cortez and their lives in the palace cashman stain came to conquer room takeover mexico thank you see she's not a moron ron mcgill became sort of the puppet and colluded with cortez against his own people so you know there there's always gonna kill him in his sleep and it was all like very weird stuff that was going on that sound a kind of strange homoerotic so i i brought it out even more frida kahlo at the break you have the unit brow she comes in later in the play more in my son speech and junior high when my son gets woke gets a chance to get back at the bullies with all this information he throws and frida kahlo saying i've got a lot of heroes in me says her child is the civil rights act of is frida kahlo ancestors of the mets even though he's always injured that really happened did you sound really get wilkes who your research in his hat knowing this history he was a awoke young man in some ways more more in terms of dealing with emotional abuse said he was doing when i mean 'cause it was in session where do you think about the climate now might be contributing to billing yeah well i mean that is a sad side effect of trump publicans denigrating mexican americans and taking down to be bilingual page in the government side that's been up there for decades by putting quotas on legal immigrating latin people and black people to this country sends a terrible message wondering do you ever think john leguizamo of taking this show taking it to places when people may not have met a person of latin or hispanic origin except no you would not i would not no i'm not a i'm not a circus freak i'm not a animal and is due to be looked at that way you know i'm not a social studies project but i wanna go where there's a mix where where where there's land people and white people and black people and people of all colors but i wanna a latin group to be in their cause they need to hear this is i i'm having a blast i am having a blast doing the tocqueville is not for everybody but i do i do alexander the tocqueville from the eighteen hundreds in my best friend said i can you hear now into a perhaps i'm not sure she out of here we get a any.

"Easy to deploy preferably delivered by the cloud which what's ramos's speeds are amount of security service provider because the middle market becomes a tremendous opportunity for innovation because while they need the scene defenses in the same type of sophisticated tools the large banks and critical infrastructure companies have they're the same needs in the hat twenty because regulations abdessemed reporting requirements so in the bin it into trends we see a move to cloud base native big security companies enterpreneurs but also thinking moral not just the tip of the ice for about large customer with thousands of cybersecurity professionals but i made it retail customer with maybe ten fifteen people in a tea in one of them has spent part time responsibility for for security saw a theme debts uh so how do we automate would being automation in simplification so that the shortish professionals can be the not only achieved by training but more importantly by bringing automated tools in tools it can help uh preparations understand a tread and eventually the fence dc lost uh startups than other companies aiming toward that the bigger market versus the middle market he not traditionally um if you see the new innovation is in the market has always focused on the large companies why because there early adopters they're willing to work with you pulp through the feature said but eventually when he gets to a point where this is a mature solution you want to bring it down market in so.
