I wish that. I wish that actually was. I never say the for a movie. That i can watch because the drive skin tones in hair colors is really fascinating It sounds like a kind of technicolor world. What what prompted your decision to just have kind of a rainbow of people I really wanted something that was buried divers but also fun and Kind of unique to me. Call of Duty: Season 5 Roadmap Revealed

"All right first up. Is that call duties season five is going to be titled reloaded is gonna be hitting us at on september ninth and will basically be a very interesting one because it's gonna have looks like for an operator judge dredd which would interest me quite a bit because i like those movies like the second one breath the sylvester stallone first one but he's a comic book type of character. It's a very interesting worlds. It's very disturbing very sad looking world as well. You're always going to have a few new maps for for backups. Cold war also new warzone perks austin news arby's new seasonal events as well so it's a whole bunch of interesting things with the biggest interesting thing i think. Judge dredd is finally coming to this so this adds to more of the action heroes type of things. We had the eighties. Rambo and john maclean. Now we're going to have this one as well so it's very interesting thing. What they're doing are like this way about doing their little characters. Which i most of the time never really care about in general but this is what we're going to get so be prepared to open your wallet if you wanna get it if not then. It doesn't really matter quite a bit because you can still play but it begins. September will it says seventh but also says ninth on the thing so between that time seventh to ninth and should run until probably about the end of the month probably into october beginning october. In general so be prepared for. Be ready to unlock your wallets and get this. If you feel like you want to get something like this

Dog King: Burnt Bun Breakfast

"Today. We find dog king king of the dogs sitting on his throne gazing out at his kingdom out in the streets. The sun was hot and humid. As a pool of drool and the roads were scorched enough to skull the paw humans were bustling around head down headed to work and traffic clogged up all the best walking spots. That was all okay though because the kingdom the alley behind the laundromat was shady and cool as the dirt under a deck and more than that. It was a summer monday which could only mean one thing time for a burnt bun breakfast dog king called spilling too heavy trash bags into the crowd of waiting dogs from the bags. Wrinkly crinkly sides burnt hot dogs and hamburgers and stale buns spilled onto the dirty ground. It was kind of like christmas. If christmas smelled like ketchup and mustard day-old meet burnt bun. Breakfast was their summer monday tradition. Where the dogs gathered all the burnt barbecue thrown out from the weekend before and had themselves a feast. A whole mess of matz had shown up for this one. There was the usual crew of pickles and rambo. And anne plus some lounging. Labs hungry hounds. A beefy boxer boxy beaver and a group of rowdy terriers fresh from a run at the dog park pun breakfast best fist. Crooned pickles the chihuahua. He leapt from his little pink bike basket bed and shook himself awake. Nothing like a good chart burger with the extra black bits for flavor. You don't see this every day. I see these literally every day said rambo. My mom likes to grill all the time. And i get all the one. She messes up. I think sometimes she messes up on purpose. Because i'm her special handsome boy. No way said pickles yes way. I'm totally her special handsome boy. She tells me all the

The CDL Champs Is Underway

"Playoffs for the Call of Duty league just began today with a juggernaut matchup Dallas empire taking on the Minnesota rocker who of course won that last major coming back from down four O and a 9 game series versus Toronto ultra. In case you missed it we had a chance to talk with the empire head coach and GM himself Rambo ray on the eSports network podcast where he said the main focus for his team was to nail down their own play styles before zeroing in on their opponent's strategies. And it appears that tactic played into empires favor as they pretty much wipes the floor with rocker they win in overwhelming three O fashion over Minnesota in that opening game. Dallas will take on Toronto next in the quarterfinals while rocker move on to face LA thieves tonight in the losers bracket to try and make a run there. More matches to come is currently opt in subliners playing before we move on to that first round of the aforementioned losers

"All right federico. We are back for another in our series of summertime. Os preview interviews. I'm pretty excited. It's been it's been fun. We had a good time talking to marcos tanaka of few weeks ago and today worker speak to g rambo who we actually talked to last year but i really wanted to talk to gi this year again. Because i know that he's working on some things that are very relevant to what's going on at where what went on at ww. See this year. That's right that's right. And i really wanted to talk to each get a better sense of some of the announcements some of the api's especially the share play stuff. It's facetime integration. Because that's like personally speaking. I could use these very conversation as because i need content for my roots research. It's research for me and share. Plays one of the things that i'm struggling with. We'll talk about this later on. But i think i could use geeze experience. And the fact that he's been looking into this sort of stuff As additional research for my story. So yeah. I'm i'm i'm excited about this one. Let's let's say in. We're here today with ghirmay. Rambo the developer of air buddy and a whole bunch of other apps at which will hear a little bit about in a little bit. But i wanted to say welcome to the show. Gay how you doing today. Hi thanks for having me. I'm doing great. How are you guys doing all right. You know before we dig too deep into the individual. Api's and some of the real nitty gritty details. Once you tell everybody who's listening a little bit about your yourself and your apps and just reintroduce yourself. I know we talked to you last year. But there's probably some people might have missed that episode. Yes sure soul. I'm gay rambo. I do air buddy as you mentioned and also do a bunch of other apps including chiba studio which is on that for us. I also do the unofficial dub dub dc app for mac os and a bunch of other open source projects. I also happen to co host stack trace on nine to five mac. Alright diesel. i so busy working on my irs. In fifteen review the moment and one of the things. I'm struggling with and actually part of the reason why really wanted to have you on. The show is the shirt play section of the review. So i want to talk about this new feature coming to facetime fifteen all the updates leader desire and very high level. This is a way for participants in a facetime call to share different kinds of content and sort of have different kinds of activities together so in music he will be able to listen to music together in tv. You can watch a movie together. And third party developers comp- plug into this framework. As well so i wanted to ask you walk kind of opportunities you think sharply will will open up for developers like yourself. Yeah it's quite flexible in what it allows you to do one thing. I was worried about. When i first saw the announcement was that it will be the thing just for things like disney plus and that flee accent over services like that's right lemons but it's nothing like that. It's actually quite flexible. So even if you if you have a media app but it doesn't use like all of the system av foundation stuff you can still plug that into sharply but even beyond that any type experience that could be shared between users. Live on facetime can be done through sharply so basically what sharply were sharply allows us to do is to create this data stream that's shared between multiple participants in a facetime call and that's also at the same time it's Something that expands the functional. But it's also a limitation because you cannot keep that alive beyond the context of a facetime call. So if i want to say a share a document editing experience in the facetime call with my friends if one of them leaves the call they basically by default. They're out of the sharing session so they can't added that document anymore with the friends. But i do see a few ways How developers could basically fix that. So you could kinda like starts an experience on facetime but keep going beyond facetime call Because you can basically exchange arbitrary data between the participants you as the developer has that ability so it will depend on the creativity of developers to the depth of of how this is implemented. But i do think it's a very well thought out of framework and and i think we'll see some interesting experiences on top of it Just not sure how. Big of a size of implementations will see it might be the next. I message apstar but it might just be this coal thing that some apps implements And just for context so. This kind of collaboration is different from the sort of cloud. Kit based collaboration collaborating in real time in sharply is different from say sharing a note in apple notes right and collaborating woomera cloud. Yeah that's correct So this collaboration will will exist within the facetime environments wild. That facetime session lasts. But there's nothing stopping developer from using the facetime Call and the sharply. Api as a means to exchange of the data in credentials necessary to start another type of shared experience. That will then outlive the facetime session. So it's technically possible for developers to to do other types of shared experiences that basically outlive the facetime call got it got it so i have to assume you've being playing around with it so far. How have you been using sharply. What are the kinds of things that you can share right now that you've been experimenting with i've done Three actually far things. I think so. The first one was a simple damn. Oh that i made for the dec- by sundown dot com. Which is the the deceit by sundell and friends website. That i run with johnson. Sundell every dub and si- made the little simple app where you can do stuff over sharply..

"And I feel like there's <Speech_Male> a lot of good teams that are <Speech_Male> playing very well, right. <Speech_Male> So we <Speech_Male> have nothing to <SpeakerChange> lose and everything <Speech_Male> to gain out of this. <Speech_Male> So, obviously, <Speech_Male> you're scared of Seattle, <Speech_Male> search. I'm just <SpeakerChange> saying right? <Speech_Male> That's it, that's it. <Speech_Music_Male> That's it seem to be scared <Speech_Male> of, <Speech_Male> I mean, they're going <Speech_Male> through their own issues, I <Speech_Male> guess. Yeah. That's <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> that's for another podcast <Speech_Male> episode. But <Speech_Male> obviously <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> staged for coming up. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I mean I wish you the <Speech_Male> best of luck personally cuz <Speech_Male> I want to see some <Speech_Male> some crazy games <Speech_Male> coming out of out of jobs. <Speech_Music_Male> Weekend and really <Speech_Male> want to see Vivid <Speech_Male> and and and as always <Speech_Male> shots you pop off gets. <Speech_Male> Those are two guys. <Speech_Male> I want, I want to keep my <Speech_Male> eye on this weekend, but <Speech_Male> I know you <Speech_Male> also have your fun <Speech_Male> times, right? You play some <Speech_Male> war zone <Speech_Male> and I know you just <Speech_Male> this news Rambo <Speech_Male> there was a movie <Speech_Male> character coming into <Speech_Music_Male> war zone, how <Speech_Male> you're <Speech_Male> coming <Speech_Male> in? I mean, <Speech_Male> come a house and you really play <Speech_Male> Warzone though, are you ever <Speech_Male> going to pick up a <Speech_Male> a rainbow character <Speech_Male> dead? <Speech_Male> I'll be completely honest. <Speech_Male> I've already bought the character <Speech_Male> for the just the cold war <Speech_Male> game, because I play a lot. I've <Speech_Male> been playing a lot of rain play <Speech_Male> with my friends <Speech_Male> recently, <Speech_Male> I haven't played War Zone in quite <Speech_Male> some time. I'm looking <Speech_Male> to get back into it. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> just gave <Speech_Male> me a ballerina. Alice, be <Speech_Male> honest are really good <Speech_Male> friends for a few weeks <Speech_Male> to a few months. Actually <Speech_Male> play Warzone. Probably afraid of <Speech_Male> majority of like three or four months, <Speech_Male> but <Speech_Male> once I feel like The Meadows <Speech_Male> kind of stay away, <Speech_Male> the games typically get away <Speech_Male> from me, and I just don't enjoy <Speech_Male> him as much anymore, so <Speech_Male> I typically <Speech_Male> kind of go on and play <Speech_Male> other stuff, but I'm looking to get <Speech_Male> back in. And I've seen, I've heard a lot <Speech_Male> of good things about where to Matt is <Speech_Male> right now. And where's on them, probably <Speech_Male> to try. And I <Speech_Male> can play with my buddies cuz I have <Speech_Male> a lot of friends. Very kind of bugging <Speech_Male> me to play. So <Speech_Male> I have to like you said <Speech_Male> the rainbow character dead. <Speech_Male> So I can just be <SpeakerChange> rainbow Asbury <Speech_Male> about, it's pretty dope. <Speech_Male> I need you to stream <Speech_Male> with like the Rambo headband. <Speech_Male> Like the, <Speech_Male> the light on the face, <Speech_Male> all experienced the whole <Speech_Male> experience in character <Speech_Male> Rambo <Speech_Male> rent. Like just <Speech_Male> make it all Rambo, inception <Speech_Male> for every month. <Speech_Male> This is the weirdest dream <Speech_Male> will ever <Speech_Male> see, but as <Speech_Male> always, we wish you good <Speech_Male> luck going into <Speech_Male> stage four. <Speech_Male> If you ever get a chance <Speech_Male> to to <Speech_Male> hit me up on some war zone <Speech_Male> games and carry me, I'd be <Speech_Male> I would love that but <Speech_Male> I'm not <Speech_Male> going to put that on you. I'm <Speech_Male> not going to put that on you. <Speech_Male> I'm cool. <Speech_Male> I like playing people <Speech_Male> that are that are fun to play <Speech_Male> with. So you said <SpeakerChange> like a fun dude, <Speech_Male> so I'm down like <Speech_Male> some like a funded me. Some <Speech_Male> of my my wife, we started <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> dating. He saw like <SpeakerChange> a fun dude <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> <Speech_Music_Male> Joe <Speech_Music_Male> Millionaire but <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> it's okay, fair <Speech_Male> enough. Yep. Guys, from the Star like you guys had a Target on your back. I mean, based on their success, early in the season, like we were, we were definitely a team to beat like a month before the season, actually started in probably the first two weeks of the season. So off, we were definitely kind of at a point where we were playing very well. Things started crumbling for us a little bit after that. Obviously, if we're comparing to season the last year this year, it's not too different. I think it's just the the difficulties and adversities, we're facing are coming in a different point of year. We faced adversity, very early last year and once it kind of got the ball rolling, after that event, win things were pretty pretty steady from that. Like, our progression was was incremental. We had a few kind of step back, but not very many obviously nothing like this here and that's kind of the biggest difference. I would, I would say for the season standpoint,

The Metro section the B section. If you go to the last page below the weather, and I'm not kidding, it's below the weather. Seen fatally shot by state trooper Now this is yesterday in the Washington metropolitan area, which is the You know, the rectal aperture of the news universe I think and a teenager with a replica gun was fatally shot Tuesday in a confrontation with the Maryland state trooper. State police said. The youth, identified by police as Peyton Ham, 16 years old, was shot in the Leonardtown area of ST Mary's County Police said he lived near where the incident occurred. Place that the teenager confronted a trooper with what turned out to be an air soft gun. A toy gun A, which shoots nonmetallic pellets, The Washington Post says the other non metallic because they're foam their little yellow foam balls and therefore should not your brother across the dinner table. Police said it resembled a real gun sound like Tamir Rice when to the riots begin, state police said The trooper was sent to the scene after two calls reported a male who was acting suspiciously and apparently had a gun. That's exactly what happened in the Tamir Rice case, precisely and exactly Police said A witness told them that ham the 16 year old took a shooting stance in quotation marks and was pointing his gun at the trooper before the trooper fight exactly like to memorize. Now. Here's the very important sense that this is the only sentence that matters. The Trooper and ham are both white Police said There was no indication that hands gun was not a real weapon, see how the standard has changed. Now there has to be proof that it's not a real weapon. That's the opposite of the standard that it was applied before after being wounded, and I've got to say I find this part to be a bit difficult to believe. After being wounded him. 16 year old boy with an air soft gun produced a knife, Uh, witness recounted because he's like Rambo on a suicide mission with an air soft gun and after he shot his air, soft gun laying next time he pulled out a white knife because he's with al Qaida is something I got a little trouble believing that part Ham died at the hospital, so

Is it not? I know it is, but it's It's very imprecise. Mm. And that's a good question. How you can look at just how the police log had documented. This is why you developed sources in the police department. Right, Taylor? Yes. So you could you so you can find out what was really used. Is that a dig at me that I didn't find the source of whether or not it wasn't a BT or an I D? No, I'm just saying Taylor Taylor used to go down to the New Bedford Police Department, just like I used to go down to the Winston Salem Police department and sometimes the Boston Police Department, Ednor Flores 34 entered a PNC Bank and the city's humbled park section. And waited in line before handing a teller A deposit ticket with the words armed and no dye packs. But how we die. What spells? Yeah. Uh, well, you know that. Here's the problem. The Chicago schools have been out for a long time and the teachers, the teachers are still refusing to go back, and this is the kind of the kind of tragedies they're going to occur. Leading the quick, quick witted bank employees to press a silent alarm. The savvy teller then asked Flores, who was wearing a hood in a surgical mask of the time. If he wanted to make a deposit or withdraw the employees then gave floor is a blue withdrawal slip on which he scrawled $10,000 and filled up his account number as 123456789. Before handing it back. Florida's proceeded to give his authentic I D to the teller when asked for he over his temporary state I d card issued by the Illinois secretary of state just days earlier. That's his name. Ednor Flores. Mm hmm. I'm gonna get. It was not a legitimate driver's license under any circumstance. I'm starting to think it might not have been either man covered in. It certainly wasn't a voter ID card says Rambo for 13 we I think we can assume that safely. Yes.

Trump could make a Biden transition messy

"Joe Joe Biden's Biden's transition transition team team wants wants to to get get to to work, work, but but it it looks looks like like a a government government agency agency won't won't cooperate cooperate just just yet. yet. We We have have reports reports that that the the General General Services Services Administration Administration will will not not sign off on the transition until at least Friday. POLITICOS White House in Washington correspondent Daniel Lippman joins us live with Mohr Dan. I like in this to the end of first blood when Colonel trap men trying to get ramble out of the building, But he's saying nothing is over. And apparently Rambo is getting company here, Dan. Why is the refusing to sign off on the Biden transition? And why is it so important for the Biden team to get there? Okay? Well, it's important because they need to access those funds. You know millions of dollars that ah, a new presidency requires new presidential administration needs to use Teo actually gonna pay employees and to get the work of building a team. Kind of in place. And the reason that Jessica has been holding onto it is because they don't want to get crosswise with President Trump, who is still fighting this election battle, even though all hope seems to be lost, even even as Jared Kushner and Melania Trump privately urged him to give up. On, so the point is kind of refusing until the pressure becomes too much. On Friday,

"All right. So the spoiler is what Rambo dies no sprinkler is that well, the story is there's a young woman that he's been helping to raise it is not his daughter right calls him Uncle John right the daughter of someone. We don't think we've discovered that this is not from any of the other movies. So something happened in the last year old enough now to go off to college, but she wants to go to Mexico to find her father. He tells her know the woman who cares for her tells her no and she goes to Mexico on her own. Anyway, it's within driving distance of where they live. She goes there. She's one of the people who gets drugged and taken off. Of these brothels and thus our John Rambo decides to go fuc everybody up. Correct, but the actual thing. Yeah, he's going to savor. So keep in mind we got taken going on here. We understand either the parallels. So I was like I got this movie going to suggest is going to bring it back to the the lips on this call Big Farm in Texas going to bring it back Arizona but close enough and then he's going to defend the farm from them coming back because he killed a lot of that dude. So they're going to be pissed right? That's what I thought too. I felt that was it. Like that's it. He's going to be defending the two ladies at the end, you know in his booby-trapped farmer well weapons on the way after having rescued her driving her home to be safe. She dies and we were both like what yeah, naturally didn't pull any punches of when she did get captured actually showed that they were drugging her with heroin or whatever. Yeah cuz something and then there was like a montage theme where You could see that different dudes that actually bin weather. Yes also, so they never liked kind of go. Did she did they do anything with it? No. Yeah, they're not sugarcoating her very terrible storm. And she's like, you know, I was going to say a nice just an average teenage girl, right? She's not like she's college-age. She's getting ready to go off to college. Yeah, and she seems from what we see at the beginning really sweet and she loves John and basically been raised on this Farm isolated. Yeah, you know, so that makes it even worse cuz it's like we should gets into this. You know, she goes to see if she goes to see a friend Giselle this jerk. She needs somebody smack her to that girl. She's a bitch then she gets you're not going to find me having a lot of sympathy for characters who represent sort of the worst of human nature. Right and this maybe it's like super it's it is very heavy-handed and there's lots of stereotypes and simple like it's it's a very simple thing like this happens happens Revenge, but yes, like it's not complicated. There's nothing complicated the dialogues not complicated. You can't there's never you can't be a moment where you like what's happening? I don't understand, So there's no lack of clarity when it comes to understanding who's bad. Right?.

This week's movie is Rambo first Blood, which is the final installment in the Rambo Trilogy know what would you call 505? He's survived. It's five altogether. What would you call back a pentalogy and don't know I'm calling a pen solid oak is a pentagon has five sides. Okay. It's a 2019 movie release wage is actually out on 4K right now rated R. And it's definitely an R-rated movie and it's from our friends at Lionsgate. You send us a copy for review since I'll give us the synopsis of Rambo last blood I think that you're not really asking me for a synopsis. Come on, it's Rambo. There isn't anyone who doesn't know what that is right know and if they don't know what it is, they're not interested. So Rambo Defender murderer Defender, I'll tell you what it says on the back of the box almost four decades and not say Rambo Defender murder on the box. It says almost four decades after we drew first blood Sylvester Stallone his back as one of the greatest action heroes of all time. John Rambo now Rambo. What else? Okay. No, okay. I missed the. She said the very same thing. Really. I don't want to be an activist well. Once. You're out and you're and invulnerable to the. Public's opinion you you. You start getting indignant. About the difference in the way you're treated you know. And and Ellen in her own way is a big activist just who she puts on that show Totally. And also. I think there's an. Sort of. There's a benign version of activism which is just being around just being around and being gay and just well I've always been a member of that. Well I think. What you can do is just be ordinary about it in public and that's what I think people always connected with about your stories it was. It was it was gay straight everybody all mixed in. Yeah. I knew that the world would be kindly or to rock if somebody spoke intelligently about what sort of man he was and honestly they were lying brost hunter, his producer was lying and talking about a watermelon diets and things. And the liver cancer liver cancer just ridiculous panicked responses. And I. I didn't I couldn't take it. And Rock ended up sending his biographer to meet me he said you're the first person I should talk to so. I realized that he understood what I had done. Why done it but a lot of queers didn't really. Thought it was a betrayal because they were still that code of secrecy you must. You must not spell the spill the secret you know if you're lucky enough to know a movie star and you're supposed to keep quiet about it. And I didn't sign on for that. Did, you talk to him about it ever? Before thing you know I I yeah. I did when we first met I, said, you know. If you told your story would make a huge difference in the world and and. He was kind of fascinated by the idea really but his partner. Tom Clark. Said not until my mother. Dies. and. All I could think of was if I was fucking rock, Hudson. Which I tried briefly. It's like what Bro Force did with a different characters that you could play in, bro Force, like if you wanted to be Rambo and Bro Force, it's It's Ram, bro. Right. Every one of the major iconic characters would have, like Bro is some part of the name trader Joe's did this similarly with selling different ethnic food products. So they would. It would be a play off of Trader Joe's so like trader Jose right if it was selling if this is like the Hispanic food section to be instead of Trader Joe's Trader Jose Jose or They did like trader, meaning. So in Germany, police with helicopters and Everything. I would point out that there's a secondary conspiracy theory here because a bunch of people were put it sharing pictures of this huge, huge gathering. Of German law enforcement to track one dude. A dude who had assaulted us. Ah, four German police officers. Excuse me German intelligence officers and fled into the wilderness. They do do they were referring to his German Rambo. As they were hunting him. And the best part was that initially so you have that narrative, but also people were sharing pictures of where all these police were staged before they headed into the mountains to catch this guy. And they were the conspiracy was that this was an Illuminati human hunt. Oh, it's the most dangerous game. Yeah, we'll stage Oh, yeah. So this again multiple facets. So anyway, police were looking for this guy years. Roush. Who had fled wearing camouflage dearie discerned for police officers and was armed with a bow and arrow. Now this is the BBC. This is the way the BBC wrote it. Some reports have nicknamed him Rambo after the fictional violent Vietnam War veteran who goes on the run from us police Stop Stop No violent war veteran. "They also announced the UBISOFT team announce that there's new rainbow six content coming so I got the press release that I have here. I'm not GonNa read this whole thing. But essentially it's the second season for twenty twenty of siege for year five. That's your five that we're in now. It's wild I think it's the game is just better. Operation Steel wave is what it's called an introduces two new operators ace and Maluzi new attacker and a defender from Norway and South Africa in addition to an entirely reworked house map and a slew of gameplay changes. We won't go too deep into the weeds here except to say that they're looking for from factions. That I'm not too familiar with yeah. They're they're unfamiliar for shore. Ace looks like it. Uses the attacker from looks like a rescue unit of some type and then Melissa the defender has very interesting character design with her braids but aside from that. They're they're not very familiar at all like they don't clearly belong to any of the factions that we've seen yet do you thank her. Braid design is a South African thing. It's not a felony design It I mean it looks like it's too thick it like it. Looks like hair on top of hair so I I would imagine that it was just something that they didn't enemy urged didn't dumb draft out natively like it's something put on top of an existing players show. Now that I see it up close it does look like a wig. Looks LIKE CORN? Row Wig omos. Yeah it's I mean. They tried how how someone is is literally amazing air every time. How do you feel about this choice? Are You mad about it or you? Like I'll take the representation. Oh Immune it's always a mixed bag with hair and in representation for black women specifically but I mean they. They gave it a go and other other than our hair. She looks cool It's a very interesting gadget. That she has so I give them pass on this one. I have a lot of love remo sick. So they'll get the forgiveness this time. What's her gadget? I haven't looked at this. Just pull up the video so that Steiner and I can take a look. Yeah some operator. Gameplay yes so for from Lucy the defender Gadget is a banshee. Sonic defense and it looks a lot like diggers what I would. I forget what it's called. Whatever the anti-grenade where you can put it on walls or surfaces and it emits a pulse. Sonically that will slow and disoriented people as they approach it and from what I can read here you actually have to disable it by hitting it or by hitting it with something very very close range so it seems pretty decent on slowing down and that in combination with the new proximity alarm which is a sticky grenade that you could probably put on ceiling. This could be a real problem for for really aggressive attackers. I like that. They're putting in some of these defenses for aggressive attackers. Because I think that it kind of changes up the dynamic even though I think we all agree that being the defending team always feels inherently easier than mainly attacking team. Which is why we got the really aggressive defender in the last round. The guy whose name I can't remember. But he can like jump up level or ix or x Ten. But if you guys aren't playing rainbow six or you've never played Rambo six. Now's a great time to jump in. There's so much happening in the game. The Operation Steel. When does that do have a date? There did I just put the Dayton when it goes live Live delays date. I see all the notes here on the video. They announced this week in the description box. I could also pull up the press release again. Sorry everybody listening hoops. Nope it's not in the description back dealer so little halloween or no. Y'All know say not seen either. Maybe there's no maybe in the future this will be in the game happening soon happening after this show airs. We're not we're not giving area take we're just gonNA keep you guessing. Yes yes we will be no but this really really

Venezuela's Ongoing Political Saga

"Venezuela is in the news again. There's a failed raid. Actually two of the advisors of one guy lull have resigned. They resigned Monday so I wanted to talk about Venezuela a little bit third rail topic of Latin America so over the weekend. I had the opportunity to connect with Gabriel Hetland Assistant Professor of Latin American Caribbean and US. Latino studies at the University of Albany and here is the conversation. Hey Gabriel thank you so much for being on Latino rebels radio great to be here. Venezuela seems to be doesn't seem to go away before we get into the deeper issues regarding Venezuela. I would love to get your reaction about what has happened over the last Last week in continuing this whole notion of this ex green beret with a raid. That was going to go after. Nicholas model can you begin to breakdown your reaction or or give your take on all this. I'll do my best. I'm shaking my head as you say. This almost makes me chuckle. And I've heard so many accurate ways to describe it tragedy meets farce handler with Alaska historian at nyu said someone else. From the Obama X. Obama said described it as keystone cops meets failed Bay of Pigs invasion someone else a bad rambo movie. I mean it's almost absurd if it weren't tragic at the same time so you know the sort of short story is that there's a a ex green beret Jordan gaudreau based in Florida. He's apparently guarded trump at a rally at some point in the last couple of years He seems to be described as totally out of touch with reality by everyone. Who's met him over the last several years he got involved into that. Anna's Waylon really randomly was last February at this concert. That March I guess when Richard Branson people was having a concert in Kuku Columbia on the border blah to raise for humanitarian aid and basically for an armed invasion of Venezuela by the opposition at failed utterly but from that point on Goo throw with his Sort OF SECURITY OPS Company in Florida Silver Corp got interested in Venezuela and the money that might be involved with toppling meadow and it as more and more of the details. Come out it's truly scandalous and Lurid and it's GonNa Impact Venezuela for a long time to come but There was a armed invasion. Which happened just over week ago on Sunday. and You know about little less than two dozen Folks got got off a boat An eight of them were killed and another fifteen or so were captured by the Venezuelan army. Apparently fisherman actually are the ones who initially captured them and their plan was to sort of invade Venezuela's through the ocean. You Know Landa boat make their way to cut off us. Topple them Dodo administration free Venezuela goto warehouses filled with cash. Us dollars take the cash leave and be treated as heroes Total absurd but what really makes it know scandalous as the main opposition leader. One Guy Dough is involved in this And there's more and more evidence coming out that he knew something about what was going to happen. It's not entirely clear how much he now and how much he knew and it appears that he didn't know a whole lot but in over last year he had a series of meetings. I think by phone basically with Guerrero and there's recordings with his voice and he's been invited to save. These are not true and he hasn't done so to my knowledge so far where he you know says it will support the agreement and one of his deputies apparently gave fifty thousand dollars as an initial payment which was supposed to go up to two hundred some million dollars And other Guido officials apparently had some level of knowledge the trump administration has denied it but in very interesting terms where Secretary Pompeo has said the US was not directly involved and so his use of the word directly suggests that they were somehow involved. That's what I mean exactly. And here's the thing that I would say about all this. Given how third rail of an issue Venezuela is there because it's so damn partisan this topic you could literally make a case that each party involved could have been involved. You know what I'm saying. I'm not trying to be like that's how messed up. Venezuela's right now in terms of the understanding because I'm sure that there are people who are saying well. This is his mother will conspiracy. You know he just created all this because you know the opposition and goes like I don't know anything about it the US. I feel like it was being taken from like amateur hour so it Kinda to me speaks to how Venezuela is often misunderstood misrepresented because it is being seen through a very hyper partisan lens that is so complex that I don't think it's reality right now in this is sort of an example of this absurd story that this sort of like bad. "I think there's probably When I set my mind to something I am incredibly focused and detail oriented and For lack of a better word just a little bit anal retentive about things and. I think that that's what I'd probably bring to Beth. The other two characters are maybe like my sister's rebellious in funny and and A little rougher on the edges and my friend is maybe a little bit more relaxed and loving and I'm of the nerdy rigid one that they're always sort of I rolling at and sort of like. Oh Beth didn't get the joke or Beth doesn't understand this or you know Does a little bit of catching up with Beth? And I think I have. They would have to explain to me. They reference something and I do. What is found there like Instagram Christina? Oh I don't know like you know. So they have to teach me stuff just like my kids just living somewhere else on the national scientists. Have no idea what I'm catching up. That's kind of Nice to know that the world well you know I figured if I was Gonna continue to live on planet earth I was going to have to join in some of the activities So when I started I got on instagram. I finally broke down with a little help from my friends and slowly easing into it. It's fun it I'm a I'm enjoying it. It's fun but it's work. Well it is to take a whole separate job. It's not just you doing this. People want to answers. Well you sort of feel like you want to share yourself and Be True to yourself. You know your image and personality so manipulated by interviews magazines in these kinds of things. So this is your platform to just say this is who I am and and it's not being manipulated by anyone else. This is just me. What vision do you think the public has of you? Just based on magazines and social media and the world outside I think that Life see you. Yeah I think a lot of people Assume that I'm sort of Joan from madman that I that maybe I'm a bit more stern or a little bit more uptight or maybe a little more put together a mess like I was there but gene you know dropping things on the floor girl I'm not nearly as sort of put together. And maybe prissy as I think people think maybe I think so. Maybe I'm not well. It's kind of a famous story. Now that basically the agency that was representing you said Madman what. We're not WANNA representative. You're doing that. Show what is it? Amc Show AMC did not have a show. There was no breaking bad at that point there was. There is nothing and we were show. They used to play old movies So they were like this. This show's not going to get picked up. And this shows not gonNA pay anything and it's period show. It's going to be super expensive to make no one's GonNa WanNa make the show it's laborious and you know wordy and And I was like all my favorite. I love laborious because it was it was about characters. And so yeah. That's scary as an actor. Though to have an agency say okay. Go and do it. But we don't want to represent you. It was humiliating. It was awful. It's very embarrassing to be working with people who all of a sudden go. Yeah we're just not interest like we don't think what you're doing is good enough to represent you. You're not worth their time. It's it's awful. They should be embarrassed. Well you know I hope they were and I hope you haven't spoken to and I you know I just haven't seen her because she's no longer an agent but I liked her as a person and I have no hard feelings. There's all sorts of stories in this town. You know what I got to work on that show for ten years and I made the right choice. That's it that's I got another agent. You just go and get another one there. It is people out there who are wondering what you do. Just go get you know you can get another age. Yeah well you good girls to do that. But I'm looking at you and I'm thinking where did the start last time you were here? I don't think I ever asked what it was when you were a kid because I know that you lived in different places when you were growing up. Yeah did you always have this feeling? This was what you wanted to do was at well I started. Dancing was started dancing at a young age. I clearly liked to perform and when we moved twin falls Idaho. I was in third grade and my mom had my brother and I dish for a local community theater. Children's group called jump company junior musical playhouse and she just thought it was. She was just trying to help us make friends 'cause moving from town to town and she she didn't want us to necessarily get stuck in the cliques. At school she she liked the idea of it being community and my mom always liked to do theatre in college and high school so We went and auditioned to be in the best Christmas pageant ever and You know then all of a sudden I was on stage in musicals and doing bye bye Birdie and the chorus in the background and I was like this is. This is where it's at this. This is the most fun I'm ever going to have and I just continued to do it and I just found so much joy and at and singing and dancing and doing the whole thing that I just kept kept going but when you moved again you will go into Virginia to and we went to Virginia after Idaho so when I went to Virginia was the first time that I could take Acting classes in high school as a option. You know as an elective course so my brother. Yeah my brother had been in theater or drama class and so I was so excited because now I was like I can like start to really study. Be Real actress and And I went in and I remember some of the senior students. I was a freshman and they were like. Oh you're really serious about acting and I was like. Oh yeah definitely when I you know and I got a lead in in the in the school play and I was the new kid and I was a freshman and everyone was like ooh fresh. Br One I think it was a blithe spirit. Oh Yeah Ghost. A ghost ghost perfect thing. I had read that. You were bullied at the time when you were going to school in Virginia. Yeah when I first showed up. I was kind of Quirky Weird kid from Idaho that like listen to like new wave music but wore birkenstocks. And like like I. I just like no one could figure out what my story was and I I just. There weren't sort of categories of people where where I went to school in Idaho. You were a kid and I just happened to have like sort of my mom would help me make clothes and I would see something a magazine and we would make some weird snakeskin pants and I just I didn't realize it was sort of odd Until I got to Virginia and everyone was like. Oh you're weird. Trust me here weird and I was like maybe I am and and I immediately went into drama class. Which of course alienates you in some high schools already. Sadly put you with other alienated. And they're the best big creative Weirdos together with the rest of them yes so you know as the years went by then I sort of went through my sort of rock and roll punk goth all that stuff and and just celebrated being different. Didn't they're still? I'm still one hundred percents. People are like. Oh it's so funny that you were. I'm like I am still God. I don't let this Rambo sweater fairly lax eye. Shadow is a black lipstick. Saying yes I will do that. Let's have her. That Goth is bring her temper. Gabby Gabi really. She's the she's in there. You go just vocally in there to do that. Yeah goodness

"That's what you're going to have to ask them. When you listen I I I do I am I I do follow stallone on social media of course I do go through his comments every now and then and I do see sometimes when he will respond to people on I remember someone wrote on there like oh where's Rambo's long hair and like stallone wrote like Oh will sometimes people change like Okay Apple Change. I guess they cut their hair but I mean Rambo always fucking puts on a headband when he goes into battle yeah ridiculous yeah. I mean listen. I had a lot of fun watching it. I enjoyed it more. The second time I saw aww knowing what it was like the first time I was just like oh I kept wanting wanting to like it and wanting to like it and I kept giving another chance and I kept being like well. Maybe like the last twenty minutes will save it and you know what you would think to a lot of people that last twenty minutes probably really does save it for a Lotta people but not for me. I feel like that last. Twenty minutes is totally ridiculous way overkill and just it's like a lot of gratuitous violence silence. That's just like unnecessary. I don't know it's just it's just a very bizarre and weird movie to put the Rambo name on that's all well other than seeing all of the Rambos in the theater as well as at home and seeing this one twice. What's another movie saw recently that you'd like to recommend recommend well. I came out earlier this year but one movie I really enjoyed that. I think is now on demand. The man is bright burn. I love and seeing that I really really enjoyed bright. Burn a lot. I love the simplicity of it. I love like like there's only a few characters and it's on like a farm and it's pretty violent and are rating and it's like it's it's. It's it's it's worth checking out. It's good I thoroughly enjoyed it right on yeah. I wanted to see it. I know I wanted to see it in theaters. I missed it then. I missed it again. Dan and then finally I love it. You dig it. I'M GONNA have to watch it sometime soon. We'll right man. I'm glad to finally get you on the podcast based on people where they can find your your stuff your work well if they go to your website and ah they check out drilling on their probably now. I know because I think you would only on facebook instagram awesome yeah. Hey yeah check out the hoarder. You could see a little short that I wrote and directed that you scored l. Yeah man and okay. I'm glad to finally have you on and we'll see what happens with another another stallone movie. Will we'll have to get you back for yeah and next time. I run into sly I'M GONNA. I'M GONNA have to give him a piece of my mind because this this the sequel just not. It's just not an okay way to finish it in. He totally axes if it's like the finale in it's just like the worst finales ever a to a beloved series so yeah. We're we're counting on you man yeah. I'm you'll see what I could do. Hey I got this. "Welcome to another episode of piecing it together the podcast where we take a look at a new movie and try to figure out what movies inspired it and today on the show we are taking a look at Sylvester Stallone's Rambo last blood Let me tell you right upfront so first of all my buddy David Michael Join me for this one. He is like the biggest Rambo fan biggest stallone fan and so it was always set in stone that he was going to be the CO host for this episode so really glad to finally have him on the show. He's a filmmaker who I've worked with a bunch of times over the years so we had a really fun conversation but about that conversation I wanNA say just upfront this episode while we do get into a few puzzle pieces it. It is very loose. the movie really didn't it didn't warrant the full on puzzle piece conversation that we normally really have on this show. we just kind of went in just to talk about the movie and talk about Stallone and talk about what when wrong with this possibly final entry in the Rambo series I mean it should be but then again who knows Ed. We're still on anything's possible. There may be more but we will get into that as we get into the conversation about Rambo last blood for now. I do want to remind you to make sure you're subscribed grabbed piecing it together on your podcast APP choice and follow us on social media at Piecing pod and join our facebook group popcorn and puzzle pieces where we have all kinds is a conversations about all these movies and a friend of the show Joe Black just posted a incredibly long like has to be at least a thousand words taking dissertation on why this movie actually was great so not be a fun thing for you to read. If you didn't enjoy this movie so go go join our popcorn puzzle pieces group make sure subscribe to the podcast and let's get into this conversation on Rambo last blood all right so today on the show where we're talking about a movie that was a little bit of a letdown but we're going to get into that in the minute with a a Superfan of this series. We are talking to my buddy. David my Car David. How's it going man. Hi Hello. How are you thank you for having me. Eh on your show finally was there any other choice but but there really isn't when it comes to Rambo when it comes to anything stallone stallone there isn't but especially Rambo you get a creed to episode and I wasn't on it and that's that's. That's a terrible terrible terrible mistake. We did agree to episode. You weren't on it but that's all yeah I. I'm sorry to say but if you go back and we could do like a follow up second creed need to episode and get yawning. It's okay I mean no we we missed the chance it might be a cred- three slides going to be in it but I think he is going to do another rocky this movie. I I'm convinced after this movie. He's basically going to just do everything over and over and over and over again until he absolutely can't do them anymore right but we'll we'll get into that a little bit later as we're about this movie since your first time on the show. Why don't you tell people a little about who you are. Hi Hi Hello Hi thank you. My Name is David my car. I'm a writer director. I've worked with Dave Rosen here many times in the short film moral he scored a few shorts of mine a few little comedy sketches here and there Yeah Yeah Numb amped getting going on the last October with you here shortly. I Oh yeah I I'm. I'm excited as always to continue talking to you win win the recording about all the projects. We're GONNA work on in the future but right now Rambo last blood good so tell tell me before we start really talking about what did go down in the movie. based off trailers were you. We're you in on this like. Did you think it looks like it was going to be good or were you already like I don't know I was so excited. I was so excited excited from the very first trailer I saw the trailers made this thing look awesome. It made it look like a very real Rambo movie. I I I at one point. I stopped watching trae slide was going nuts like posting instagram stuff and he was showing a little too much but but men according to the trailers and everything this thing looked legit. I not for a second was I think it. Oh my God. It's going to be the absolute absolute disaster mess that it turned out to the but oh my gosh am I just I'm. I'm very like heartbroken just to be honest. I'm very sad I take it. You like the last one which I did. I know most critics already were done with with well. There are probably done after the first one I haven't gone back and look at reviews of the time of the second and third but the it seemed like most critics hated the last one. Did you like it. I loved it. Okay now are talking about Rambo for. I is that what they called it. I thought it was just called but just ran with an absolute salute tree that came out twenty years after Rambo three. That was an eighty eight to two thousand eight jump and so when that came out. I was like a kid on Christmas Christmas morning. I mean I was just like Oh my God I was so Giddy and after watching them all back again recently before the the new one came out. I was like an no. I'm not that much of a fan of four Rambo's barely in it needs light the exact same plot Plata's three. It's like oh come with us. No okay. We're all GONNA get captured. Okay now. I'll go oh. The rebels are here to help me. Oh wow it's like the exact same unfolding of three and so I was like whatever but after watching last blood I I like look now at Rambo for as a masterpiece compatible blood because because last blood is just such trash. It really is man. It said so sad. It's a very bizarre movie. It's very weird. It's not a Rambo movie movie at all. It's now okay. We're going to start getting into this for the listeners. I just want you guys all know. We talked about this a little bit ahead of time. There's going to be a very loose episode. I have a few puzzle pieces. I know Dave a might only have like one or two. I mean we're we're going to mainly be talking about how disappointing this movie allowed to talk about anything in the movie. Absolutely we expect people to have seen in. This is going to be be a deep dive. I like to think of this show as like back in the day on the message boards but with a little bit less racism took. Let's say I like to think of like you know just digging into the movie and really really you know really trying to pick it apart and and look for connections and things like that and just have some fun with it and continue continue the conversation that you would normally have after watching a movie but then we're probably gonNA forget about this one pretty quickly after today. I mean listen. It's not I've seen it twice okay. It's after my first first viewing yes. I was like just so distraught but after watching it again I I could. I could appreciate moments here and there I could appreciate moments but yeah it's still it's still very sad. It's just yeah I would. I'd say I mean to that point. I would say you know the thing that we all. Kinda came for the all the killing at the end the last twenty minutes there. There's there's a few fun kills in there and like some good like Gore but there's a lot.
