But I'm sure it was a hell of a Mac but it's surprised to know what? I'm. Like. I. Like Him. But we we see Omega in that. He'll bat ask version of Omega. Great, it's going to be great when he goes cleaner against. Page. A full gear is GonNa be as nice to see in I'm probably buying the paper you just to see that plays tech the built off mocks. I'm ready I was all four months winning and he's been a good gene again, but it's it's time for him to drop. Like I said. On the underground pods when Tommy did the recap show, remember the match between Johnny Chest and Kenny Omega because the look the way he did everything that was the beginning of the coming of the cleaner just remember that folks that you're getting exactly the. Garbage storylines like that because it's such bullshit. Area. But this is my the point I was making they're showing that same edge and I'm seeing the original. Elite these those three. They said for the first year they were not gonna put themselves strong and they did they kept that promise we got. The years over. Now. It's time for them to ride DA lightning ride the high side into to show people exactly what the product should have been like I. "Let's listen to Amazon, open Darling Darling armistead or teddy as his family Tell me about the time because he and mcallen came. I come out. Yeah I did. Say How did that come about? I think Ian had been seriously considering it. All along and wanted a little support in that way and. My. Partner at the time and I were. More than. Willing to. Give him my opinion. You know you were friends prior to that. And he was in the closets publicly. Yes. I mean IAN was. Pretty Open. People. Knew IT professionals but he didn't. He never talked about it. He didn't I see. This subject but they didn't bring it up. And contextual textually than was obviously a big thing, but we'll say. Did sort of them make you an activist Jesus have to then. Every day. No. If someone came out in public life like Oh, that's what the that's often the fear that I'll have to be an activist. Really. But. Sorry. That's what happens. That happened Ellen Degeneres. She said the very same thing. Really. I don't want to be an activist well. Once. You're out and you're and invulnerable to the. Public's opinion you you. You start getting indignant. About the difference in the way you're treated you know. And and Ellen in her own way is a big activist just who she puts on that show Totally. And also. I think there's an. Sort of. There's a benign version of activism which is just being around just being around and being gay and just well I've always been a member of that. Well I think. What you can do is just be ordinary about it in public and that's what I think people always connected with about your stories it was. It was it was gay straight everybody all mixed in. Yeah. Yeah and I think that's why find interesting is people. What's gay life like? Mostly straight people. Can in my way. Yeah. Yeah. That's been really my. Called arms all along, just be yourself. And get on with it. That's all I've done. Really I don't I don't consider myself an activist in the sense that I've taken to the streets a lot. That's really interesting. Yeah. but I think what I've done. This insisted on the. By visibility. And the early days when I did press I'd be. Off Rambo with a reporter and Telling some queer story and they'd say, of course, I won't put him really that they were censoring me on the spot and and I said, no, I said that to you because I want you to put it in I want you to say that one thing that I remember. Was You said publicly about rock Hudson. And the he was gay. And That caused A. It, but you felt among people. Yeah. Usually had to be set question it had to be said. First of all, he was clearly a man with AIDS and it wasn't going to be around very long and I wasn't going to keep silent about. How he got that. because I had lost so many friends myself very brave people who've been openly gay and dealing with the prejudice. Most of all. I knew that the world would be kindly or to rock if somebody spoke intelligently about what sort of man he was and honestly they were lying brost hunter, his producer was lying and talking about a watermelon diets and things. And the liver cancer liver cancer just ridiculous panicked responses. And I. I didn't I couldn't take it. And Rock ended up sending his biographer to meet me he said you're the first person I should talk to so. I realized that he understood what I had done. Why done it but a lot of queers didn't really. Thought it was a betrayal because they were still that code of secrecy you must. You must not spell the spill the secret you know if you're lucky enough to know a movie star and you're supposed to keep quiet about it. And I didn't sign on for that. Did, you talk to him about it ever? Before thing you know I I yeah. I did when we first met I, said, you know. If you told your story would make a huge difference in the world and and. He was kind of fascinated by the idea really but his partner. Tom Clark. Said not until my mother. Dies. and. All I could think of was if I was fucking rock, Hudson. Which I tried briefly. I would be happy to tell my mother about it. and. She would probably be happy for me. See Me over the move.

Trader Joe's to change packaging after accusation of racism

"Is getting cancelled. The reason I have to not go on a sidebar on this. So they're changing some of their some of their packaging is the thing. And They've They've always had. They've always promoted. Different food products from different ethnicities because they would take the trader Joe name. It's like what Bro Force did with a different characters that you could play in, bro Force, like if you wanted to be Rambo and Bro Force, it's It's Ram, bro. Right. Every one of the major iconic characters would have, like Bro is some part of the name trader Joe's did this similarly with selling different ethnic food products. So they would. It would be a play off of Trader Joe's so like trader Jose right if it was selling if this is like the Hispanic food section to be instead of Trader Joe's Trader Jose Jose or They did like trader, meaning. It's it was a gimmick.

New Rainbow Six Content Coming Out

"They also announced the UBISOFT team announce that there's new rainbow six content coming so I got the press release that I have here. I'm not GonNa read this whole thing. But essentially it's the second season for twenty twenty of siege for year five. That's your five that we're in now. It's wild I think it's the game is just better. Operation Steel wave is what it's called an introduces two new operators ace and Maluzi new attacker and a defender from Norway and South Africa in addition to an entirely reworked house map and a slew of gameplay changes. We won't go too deep into the weeds here except to say that they're looking for from factions. That I'm not too familiar with yeah. They're they're unfamiliar for shore. Ace looks like it. Uses the attacker from looks like a rescue unit of some type and then Melissa the defender has very interesting character design with her braids but aside from that. They're they're not very familiar at all like they don't clearly belong to any of the factions that we've seen yet do you thank her. Braid design is a South African thing. It's not a felony design It I mean it looks like it's too thick it like it. Looks like hair on top of hair so I I would imagine that it was just something that they didn't enemy urged didn't dumb draft out natively like it's something put on top of an existing players show. Now that I see it up close it does look like a wig. Looks LIKE CORN? Row Wig omos. Yeah it's I mean. They tried how how someone is is literally amazing air every time. How do you feel about this choice? Are You mad about it or you? Like I'll take the representation. Oh Immune it's always a mixed bag with hair and in representation for black women specifically but I mean they. They gave it a go and other other than our hair. She looks cool It's a very interesting gadget. That she has so I give them pass on this one. I have a lot of love remo sick. So they'll get the forgiveness this time. What's her gadget? I haven't looked at this. Just pull up the video so that Steiner and I can take a look. Yeah some operator. Gameplay yes so for from Lucy the defender Gadget is a banshee. Sonic defense and it looks a lot like diggers what I would. I forget what it's called. Whatever the anti-grenade where you can put it on walls or surfaces and it emits a pulse. Sonically that will slow and disoriented people as they approach it and from what I can read here you actually have to disable it by hitting it or by hitting it with something very very close range so it seems pretty decent on slowing down and that in combination with the new proximity alarm which is a sticky grenade that you could probably put on ceiling. This could be a real problem for for really aggressive attackers. I like that. They're putting in some of these defenses for aggressive attackers. Because I think that it kind of changes up the dynamic even though I think we all agree that being the defending team always feels inherently easier than mainly attacking team. Which is why we got the really aggressive defender in the last round. The guy whose name I can't remember. But he can like jump up level or ix or x Ten. But if you guys aren't playing rainbow six or you've never played Rambo six. Now's a great time to jump in. There's so much happening in the game. The Operation Steel. When does that do have a date? There did I just put the Dayton when it goes live Live delays date. I see all the notes here on the video. They announced this week in the description box. I could also pull up the press release again. Sorry everybody listening hoops. Nope it's not in the description back dealer so little halloween or no. Y'All know say not seen either. Maybe there's no maybe in the future this will be in the game happening soon happening after this show airs. We're not we're not giving area take we're just gonNA keep you guessing. Yes yes we will be no but this really really

Venezuela's Ongoing Political Saga

"Venezuela is in the news again. There's a failed raid. Actually two of the advisors of one guy lull have resigned. They resigned Monday so I wanted to talk about Venezuela a little bit third rail topic of Latin America so over the weekend. I had the opportunity to connect with Gabriel Hetland Assistant Professor of Latin American Caribbean and US. Latino studies at the University of Albany and here is the conversation. Hey Gabriel thank you so much for being on Latino rebels radio great to be here. Venezuela seems to be doesn't seem to go away before we get into the deeper issues regarding Venezuela. I would love to get your reaction about what has happened over the last Last week in continuing this whole notion of this ex green beret with a raid. That was going to go after. Nicholas model can you begin to breakdown your reaction or or give your take on all this. I'll do my best. I'm shaking my head as you say. This almost makes me chuckle. And I've heard so many accurate ways to describe it tragedy meets farce handler with Alaska historian at nyu said someone else. From the Obama X. Obama said described it as keystone cops meets failed Bay of Pigs invasion someone else a bad rambo movie. I mean it's almost absurd if it weren't tragic at the same time so you know the sort of short story is that there's a a ex green beret Jordan gaudreau based in Florida. He's apparently guarded trump at a rally at some point in the last couple of years He seems to be described as totally out of touch with reality by everyone. Who's met him over the last several years he got involved into that. Anna's Waylon really randomly was last February at this concert. That March I guess when Richard Branson people was having a concert in Kuku Columbia on the border blah to raise for humanitarian aid and basically for an armed invasion of Venezuela by the opposition at failed utterly but from that point on Goo throw with his Sort OF SECURITY OPS Company in Florida Silver Corp got interested in Venezuela and the money that might be involved with toppling meadow and it as more and more of the details. Come out it's truly scandalous and Lurid and it's GonNa Impact Venezuela for a long time to come but There was a armed invasion. Which happened just over week ago on Sunday. and You know about little less than two dozen Folks got got off a boat An eight of them were killed and another fifteen or so were captured by the Venezuelan army. Apparently fisherman actually are the ones who initially captured them and their plan was to sort of invade Venezuela's through the ocean. You Know Landa boat make their way to cut off us. Topple them Dodo administration free Venezuela goto warehouses filled with cash. Us dollars take the cash leave and be treated as heroes Total absurd but what really makes it know scandalous as the main opposition leader. One Guy Dough is involved in this And there's more and more evidence coming out that he knew something about what was going to happen. It's not entirely clear how much he now and how much he knew and it appears that he didn't know a whole lot but in over last year he had a series of meetings. I think by phone basically with Guerrero and there's recordings with his voice and he's been invited to save. These are not true and he hasn't done so to my knowledge so far where he you know says it will support the agreement and one of his deputies apparently gave fifty thousand dollars as an initial payment which was supposed to go up to two hundred some million dollars And other Guido officials apparently had some level of knowledge the trump administration has denied it but in very interesting terms where Secretary Pompeo has said the US was not directly involved and so his use of the word directly suggests that they were somehow involved. That's what I mean exactly. And here's the thing that I would say about all this. Given how third rail of an issue Venezuela is there because it's so damn partisan this topic you could literally make a case that each party involved could have been involved. You know what I'm saying. I'm not trying to be like that's how messed up. Venezuela's right now in terms of the understanding because I'm sure that there are people who are saying well. This is his mother will conspiracy. You know he just created all this because you know the opposition and goes like I don't know anything about it the US. I feel like it was being taken from like amateur hour so it Kinda to me speaks to how Venezuela is often misunderstood misrepresented because it is being seen through a very hyper partisan lens that is so complex that I don't think it's reality right now in this is sort of an example of this absurd story that this sort of like bad. "rambo" Discussed on The Flop House Podcast

"I was some country music. I don't know I read it yesterday. I forgot about our already. The point is I'm GonNa kill you STU wall. I'm glad that we're doing this digitally instead of over instead of in person. No no I can still get your because I'm taking virtuosity lessons and now and now I could travel to the Internet so I'd better get going. I have one question. Are you drawn to characters specifically with our names? 'cause YOU GOT. Rocky Got Rambo. And you've got of course ray tango answered both of those questions one. I'm not drawn live action but thank you. I consider myself kind of animated person with a lot of energy. So I'll take that as a compliment to yes our is just. I consider it a power letter And that's why Rambo Rocky. Rae Rae the movie about Ray Charles. Which I addition for but did not get the part unsuccessfully pushed for that one yeah other movies are Oscar Ends with an R. And of course let's not forget I was in spy kids three D. And there's an rn three so you know all there's an art connection to all the movies that I've been in Judge Joe Red Fans Stop Erm. My mom will shoot out. I mean that's one way to pronounce it. Sure but let's face from being delighted by this five ruined jumping with Cobra. Of course there's A. Yeah the movie where I was where I was one half of a Bra. Yeah and the other half was I believe Who Was it wasn't allies? Cody S wasn't James. Woods wasn't Raimo land. It was it was it was Rosie greer. Thank you yes yeah. It was Rosa. Grammy were mad. Scientists turned us into a Bra. That was one of the craziest movies. There's earlier in my career. Anyway I should go and you can finish. I assume talking about how great the movie is. GotTa go by Diet. Sure some some kind of mass figure came in and tied me up and let me go because my throat was starting to hurt so anyway I would have been a loan. I didn't hear it Elliott but but it would have been great if Rambo and his niece killed all the guys right because then she could have actually enacted some kind of revenge on her own part but no no no. That's not in a human being who has gone through some trauma and like working through it and seeing how that affects that person. I don't know similar to a movie called I. Yeah so He. He buries her Stewart. You had something to say about her grave. Well what I? I have a lot of questions one is that like. They seem the gravest covered. The headstone is a simple cross. But it's covered in like like scrawl from. I'm assuming classmates like it was like a cast. A PLASTER CAST BROKEN ARM. And so does that mean they had a funeral and if they had a funeral what did they tell everybody and did they tell the police? Like what how? How did how did they get her body from the truck into the ground with a headstone on it guys? I mean I mean maybe he just always has a headstone. Ready for everybody knows in case they die and he has to get revenge on them and he just pulls it out of his tunnels a lot of storage space and other notes were notes that he wrote to me of Seattle actually had a bunch of friends he wanted. Her goes to think that she was more popular than she was so he got into the character. A bunch of teens probably dressed up like them to really get into their personalities and he was like yeah. Have a great summer and stuff like that. You know You know bb F F this his best buddy friends forever and yeah. It's assume that I assume it was all him. Play acting different parts. That answered my question. Guys there's no no plot holes in this movie. Rambo does the most healthy thing. Which is he takes all of her pictures off the wall and puts them in a crate and then says says to the to the older woman you leave. I guess I'll go back to being a drifter now. We basically said you find out later. Why because he's got a murderer a thousand people but he says there's nothing who for you? There's nothing here for me. And he so he tells her the the false cover story that he's going to wander the earth basically. Yes yeah yeah. Righting wrongs and possibly taming horses somewhere. At first I wasn't sure that it was a ploy and so he just hung around his house and I was like well. That was a mean way to get rid of a roommate that I guess you've heard of but that yes it's time look Sylvester Sylvester Rambo. This whole movie. He's been doing things that don't come natural to him. Riding horses going to Mexico having a family. Now it's time for him to do what he does. Best make weapons and traps. That's right it's a montage of him. Prepping his farm and tunnels with lots of defenses. And you know. He's serious because he makes a new bow and Arrow and a new knife. Which is like that's how you know he's he's flipping the switch you know and getting back into killer. Rambo mode He goes back to Mexico and he asked the reporter to help him. But I don't know how she helps him because he just goes to one of the Martinez Brothers House and kills everybody there and cuts off the brothers head and leaves a picture of Gabriella there. I just love How he disposes of this head by like we see him driving back to America and he like puts it out the window and drops it then like how long has he been Alfred Garcia. Being this just telling him she like took the head. He's like okay. I gotTA MAKE. It really dramatic like why not. Just leave the head there. But he's like no. I gotTa do this for the Unseen Camera. Take it with me. And then the window he had just seen hereditary. I mean just like I want to reenact that head on the side of the road. So that's spoiler alert. I assume that he you know during the he he took the head. And he's like I'll throw this into on the ground. And then he's he realized he never had a friend and so he just started talking. It was like Wilson and castaway. Like he's like. Oh my friend but on the drive back The head wanted to change the radio station. Or maybe he likes said something mean about Rambo's car and ramblers like forget you. I don't need to head for a friend and and threw him out. I assume that he it wasn't until that he he started driving. These like what I took the head. Well past the garbage can throw it out but like you know garbage all ramble. You're so APP absent minded like is this is and then. He's like in his car. He's like googling like is a human like you know Decompile like whatever it was compiled. I mean also. He's already driving without a license because the bad guys took his driver's license earlier in the movie so it's exiting while driving assist another one of crimes. And it's it. I guess it shows how sensitized. I am to violence in movies that after I watched. I was like it a lot of driving without a license in this movie. That's not okay. But this moment is so superfluous. I wish they'd just gone further with toss out this new way to get ahead here to hear me say that. There's there's a car driving the other way. And it's a family going down to Mexico on vacation and the kids in the back are fighting and the days like so help me. I'll turn this car around the headlands on the on the hood. And they go and he does turn the car around on the or they could be playing highway. Bingo decapitated head finish every game. Every space on the card is marked except for decapitated head. And they're like Oh man on never win this game and then and then the headlines Lahood and the kid goes Jackpot looks up and says thank you God like he he He Punch sister and goes punch head. And you like Card Games. Yeah anyway so. He's baited the trap he is. He's Beta the traffic address to stay have is they have. His driver's probably off camera. Is the scene where they go to their tech guy and he looks up to see if that's still where Rambo is registered at for voting or tax reviews youtube extra driver's license. It's like okay but it's GonNa Take Time Computer Enhanced. They just holds it closer to his face so they he ran knows there's an army of goons. That's going to be heading his way they do. And this is comes up to. I feel like maybe the most perfunctory defending your house under siege scene. I've ever seen because Rambo is just destroying these guys. Miss Traps are destroy them. And it's lucky for the remaining Martinez brother he bought has many guises he did because he didn't Rambos wouldn't get to use all his traps like I'm sure every single if he if he missed out on one of the traps killing somebody would he have to maneuver someone around very carefully to us. That trump is the questions. They're just set. Rambo is is tunneling underground and popping up every now and then like bugs bunny and shooting people going back underground. And it's like there's no and I while watching them like Oh. There's no suspense in this scene. But it's not supposed to have suspense. It's just the it's the visceral catharsis watching people who are not like you murdered and blown up and having rakes in their faces and around the fiftieth guy getting killed I was like are they getting introduced any new tracks the same traps over and over again. This is the point in the movie where you're like okay. There's like twenty five minutes left and you're like okay. This is what the whole movie this is. The whole point of the movie like this movie exists for this last twenty five minutes and you have to sit through all the ugly unpleasant shit to like set up the reason why this this crazy like ending where everyone gets rid of the phases happen and that was my same review for home alone. By the way you're like me and you're totally desensitized toward violence and like can just view it as like okay. This is a fun house. Like Hollywood saying let's see how they killed this guy like I could see getting like visceral thrills from just like okay. Well this is like the. Yeah Stuart says like the ultra violent home alone but God damn. I do not recommend anyone wade through the sewer to get to this point. The crazy thing about this point to is edited like the Super Cut of best. Rambo kills that you would see on Youtube Rambo. Last blood best kills and it's just like rape to the face blown up shot in the head napalm in his body at like an alligator goes up as but then like piranha jumps through his name and another rake to the face and then like buzzsaw through the crutch like just cut. After after. It's really crazy. Rube Goldberg Esque. Ways of killing people too. It's it's just not efficient. He drills a hole in a wall so that he can poke somebody with.

"rambo" Discussed on The Flop House Podcast

"Called the ramble room where I would reveal my How you know my biggest fears and anxieties and then to overcome the shame. I felt from that I would then enter the Rambo room which was just me pretending to be Rambo and doing a mangled version of the monologue from the end of the first movie. Where he's like. Oh my friend who he was getting a shoe shine and they blew shoes up northern came back and they spit on us. The call baby kills and grab and so yeah. I've I mean I've always been fascinated by Celeste Sylvester stallone. Occasionally stop by the studio. Doesn't like I mean. Tell me but I've never been here when it missed. It's been pretty great. I wanted House hoping to find out how he's doing with his soft heart disease. Three existing condition increases health risks. The fact his heart is soft. Like a cheese. I think one point is love to St. Does I wonder how that might have played in the locations of this movie and you brought up. You brought up the first Rambo movie first blood and which starred Brian Dennehy. Rip Right. That's true who just passed away this week so this is. This is a really timely time to time at Rambagh timeless time I did some research and it turns out that they've been working on that Rambo movie of ingesting for a long time at one point. It was called Rambo the savage hunt and it was going to be about him leading a team of hunters to find a genetically modified kind of half human creature. And it's like. Why didn't they make that movie? It also would not have felt like a Rambo movie that would have been the Kingdom of the crystal skull of Rambo movies but I would have loved it so much and stood. That's the attitude that the movie takes towards Mexicans Genetically Modified freaks and at some point he was he teamed up investor. Sly I call him. I've never met him. But his sly Fox sly teamed up with Rambos Creator David Morale and they're going to make what we competed just quote. Seles loan saying is going to be a soulful journey for John Rambo. But the producers said No. We want to do this human trafficking story so I just said okay. Fine I don't care and apparently Well I guess should we like at least the story you're describing her like plays on the themes of the Rambo character? Yes which is a man who is who can only express his his post traumatic stress disorder from war by just mowing down. People like there's the scenes in at the end of the last Rambo movie which was just called Rambo and Balboa yes called Rambo Balboa by the way Elliott. I think that you and I saw Rambo together right like they might have the. I like early in our friendship and that movie also has some xenophobic elements but So much more fun because it like issues like just destroying the female lead this movie does does not do that and it is so absurdly violent. Yeah there's a part of the end where it? Rambo is just standing with with a huge machine gun with a truck mounted machine gun just tearing apart wave after wave of energy a Burmese soldiers running after him and there's and he gets shot in the shoulder and he just keeps mowing them down and he just runs out of bad guys to shoot like. That's just how it ends. It ends running out of bad guys. And then he's just standing there looking with his hand on his shoulder and for the life of me it looked like they had shaved of bear on and just had him stand there. And like. There's there's a part in that movie where he is. He is sneaking around the enemy camp. And he's like under a bridge and it looks like the Frankenstein monster escaped. That was when slow slide was really hgh it up the storyboards were by Bernie Wrightson. He doesn't he doesn't look exactly small here he's still now that he's credentialed at the at their occasionally moments especially at the end credits they show you scenes from first flood and he looks like a normal relatively normal human being and the thing that the first flood really brought home to me is like he's always had kind of beautiful is these like big dough is for like a tough guy and so in the past he's able to be kind of like a somewhat emotionally wounded tough guy but in this one he's just it's just logan unforgiven you know stuff but we'll get to that so the foreign version of this movie begins with John. Rambo saving a missing hiker from flood and that triggers his PTSD. We don't get to see that scene in the American version of it so I don't know I had the choice on Amazon prime between the extended cut and the release version said. I'm going to see the one that they thought was good enough to put in theaters and boy so we know by the movie starts at the end of the last Rambo John. Rambo went back to his family's farm. It seemed like he had turned over a new leaf. And you know it seems like he has. He's been living on this farm. He's retired. Does he have a room full of his favorite weapons. Sure does he have a network of underground tunnels under his farm. That are very easily transferable yes of course but who doesn't in this business for parties for kits. Yeah and this. The the walls are covered in knickknacks to like a TGI Fridays level. It's like a Rambo. Tgi Fridays where it's like there's the bow and Arrow there's that knife there's the machete from the last one like there's a license plate that just says our show. She does spend a lot of time in his tunnels blacksmith thing weapons but you get the sense that that's his necessary therapy. He can channel all his like paranoid rage into that and otherwise. He's a nice rancher now so he's got these these two women in his life. I were they in previous Rambo movie. No these are new characters. I mean the last Rambo movie was fifteen years ago. I think something like that. Last one was in an. Let's see two thousand eight so it was twelve years ago so during that time he has picked up a niece. Gabriella and a housekeeper. I kept shoes related to Gabrielle. In some way. She's not her mother. She's maybe Gabrielle's grandmother. She's not yes. Mister Saloons love interest. I kept over them to reveal that Sylvester Stallone was in love with this woman and it just wasn't happening pedia for what it's worth. Okay identifies her as like he wanted like. She and Rambo managed the ranch together and she is The Young Woman's grandmother. Okay and I think uncle may be just sort of a like honorific. I don't know if they're actually related. I assume I assumed that she was the daughter of his Sister it made me wonder what ethnicity the name Rambo is. Is it like you know hers to take? It was supposed to be Italian. But there is a rambling. Change it a little bit. There's something much more anglo-saxon-sounding like Rambo Gabrielle's like about to go to college. And she is a great moment where she she asks Rambo. Did you like being a soldier in a bike? I don't think he did learned in the past ten years. It's not like he doesn't pretty much every ten minutes. Talk about how terrible everything was and how there's no humanity left him. But I I want to say about these about the actors the supporting actors in this. I bet that they're really doing their best with not too much. Like they're they're not bad and especially. I think the young girl Gabriela was actually there are moments where she is in this kind of insane revenge plot and actually seems like a seventeen year old skirl might be might be in that scenario. I would I would also argue that That stallone doing the best again with what he's given. He seems like a genuinely wounded man. Who's has a lot of rage? The movie the movie around these actors is the problem. But yes he's he's sort of learned how to be quiet and just be himself which which is Kinda great and actually I would have watched the two hour movie of them hanging out at the farm and just dealing with normal stuff much more happily than there is a great Rambo Movie. That is exactly that which is him and like training for like a big horse competition because they taymor they train horses at the ranch or like just like existing at the ranch and her trying to get him to reveal to her the things that he's never revealed before about himself like there's a really. I would love to like. That's the movie they should have made. And it would cost a lot less but then you wouldn't have scenes of guys getting rakes through their head so like. I guess you could probably find a place for that. I guess that's true. That's where Rambo kills a bunch of ranchos Rambis Rambo. It's called Rambo Rando blood. It's called Rando Rambo five and he's still dealing with trauma. Obviously he's making Gabriella a letter opener. That looks like a knife and I kept waiting for that to be like the big revenge weapon at the end. But I don't. I don't think it was used a much bigger himself. Illiterates for you or something like that signs decapitated head off. He stuck it in the one brother's chest with a picture before it was that what he did not laid off. Everything is set up. And we'll get that we'll get to that Yeah actually Stewart. If I COULDA got a bumpy on this skype call I had to bump Elliott off the call so I was bumping before us. That's that's my new character CA Rambo Columbus. It was like one more thing you did. And then he shoots somebody. He's like. Hey did you. Did you leave these? Pow's behind and they're like yeah. No no I didn't. He's like Oh yeah good sense it makes sense one more question can kill you and then I should say yes or do you just shoot them. I don't way I know it doesn't really matter what they're going to say doing anyway. So the thing is this is kind of like an intricate puzzle boxful film and so everything introduced in the beginning comes around. It's like Anton. Chekhov said if you introduce a letter of the beginning then you've got to use it to stab the photo of your dead niece to decapitate drug dealers body enact three and so the thing that I want you to remember while you're talking about this movie Rambo last blood. Is that the subtext which unfortunately was cut out of the American is that Rambo only has so much blood left in his body. Because as you may remember the the blood and my body's normal human right so that's why the veins and your arms are so pronounced because they were enlarged to let the blood go through not in. I mean it's just naturally it's it's blood that is the consistency of you. Know like audio cable for going through my veins you know just like pushing like a pipe cleaner to noodle you know. They've basically so. I saw just remember that. That was a whole subplot that alarm. The movie makes more sense about if you remember that that there's You know There was supposed to be a counter on screen at all times that counted how many drops of blood. We'll have to my body and I don't know who grew up in post foot of some reason that wasn't that I didn't find out till the premier and I'm like well. When does the counter go up? Because it's kind of what the movie's about doesn't have so much blood left and it never happened so a crank situation where he's gotTa keep his heart rate up. No that would be worse. You want to go down. So the blood does it get pumped out of the body. Because that's the other thing is it's earlier in the film. I was supposed to get shot like that. One Gremlin who gets shot and then he drinks the potion and then all the stuff comes out of them like. That's what's going to happen. So it's like a sprinkler so I mean if it was moving fast I lose the blood faster so I guess what I'm saying is this was not my ideal vision of the film. Rambo less flood. But you know maybe I'll have some more answers for you later in the show got to go digital gentlemen guys. I'm sorry I was having some trouble with the Internet and I couldn't get back on the skype call. Everything okay anything. Everything's great okay. Okay so Gabriella. Invite some friends over for a going off to college party in size secret murder. Tunnels tunnels shows in the tunnels and she realized her friend. Giselle calls and says I found your your dad who abandoned you. He's in Mexico. Do you WANNA come meter. Meet Him and Slice lies like your dad's a bad man. He and she's like I don't know about my world and he's like yeah I do. It's worse than mine and it was like Whoa big. Clint sample has like such oblique. View of the world and Humanity. Heasley this whole monologues. Basically basically everyone's got a black heart like like there's no goodness in the world in his own is he thinks that that a murderer tunnel is a is a good place to invite. Teenager Party. I was going to say Dan. We all know for Bruce springsteen that everybody has a hungry heart so yeah yeah or soft heart. But I know but it's funny because movies like this like the hero expresses this bleak view of Humanity. And then the whole arc of the movie is that.

"I think there's probably When I set my mind to something I am incredibly focused and detail oriented and For lack of a better word just a little bit anal retentive about things and. I think that that's what I'd probably bring to Beth. The other two characters are maybe like my sister's rebellious in funny and and A little rougher on the edges and my friend is maybe a little bit more relaxed and loving and I'm of the nerdy rigid one that they're always sort of I rolling at and sort of like. Oh Beth didn't get the joke or Beth doesn't understand this or you know Does a little bit of catching up with Beth? And I think I have. They would have to explain to me. They reference something and I do. What is found there like Instagram Christina? Oh I don't know like you know. So they have to teach me stuff just like my kids just living somewhere else on the national scientists. Have no idea what I'm catching up. That's kind of Nice to know that the world well you know I figured if I was Gonna continue to live on planet earth I was going to have to join in some of the activities So when I started I got on instagram. I finally broke down with a little help from my friends and slowly easing into it. It's fun it I'm a I'm enjoying it. It's fun but it's work. Well it is to take a whole separate job. It's not just you doing this. People want to answers. Well you sort of feel like you want to share yourself and Be True to yourself. You know your image and personality so manipulated by interviews magazines in these kinds of things. So this is your platform to just say this is who I am and and it's not being manipulated by anyone else. This is just me. What vision do you think the public has of you? Just based on magazines and social media and the world outside I think that Life see you. Yeah I think a lot of people Assume that I'm sort of Joan from madman that I that maybe I'm a bit more stern or a little bit more uptight or maybe a little more put together a mess like I was there but gene you know dropping things on the floor girl I'm not nearly as sort of put together. And maybe prissy as I think people think maybe I think so. Maybe I'm not well. It's kind of a famous story. Now that basically the agency that was representing you said Madman what. We're not WANNA representative. You're doing that. Show what is it? Amc Show AMC did not have a show. There was no breaking bad at that point there was. There is nothing and we were show. They used to play old movies So they were like this. This show's not going to get picked up. And this shows not gonNA pay anything and it's period show. It's going to be super expensive to make no one's GonNa WanNa make the show it's laborious and you know wordy and And I was like all my favorite. I love laborious because it was it was about characters. And so yeah. That's scary as an actor. Though to have an agency say okay. Go and do it. But we don't want to represent you. It was humiliating. It was awful. It's very embarrassing to be working with people who all of a sudden go. Yeah we're just not interest like we don't think what you're doing is good enough to represent you. You're not worth their time. It's it's awful. They should be embarrassed. Well you know I hope they were and I hope you haven't spoken to and I you know I just haven't seen her because she's no longer an agent but I liked her as a person and I have no hard feelings. There's all sorts of stories in this town. You know what I got to work on that show for ten years and I made the right choice. That's it that's I got another agent. You just go and get another one there. It is people out there who are wondering what you do. Just go get you know you can get another age. Yeah well you good girls to do that. But I'm looking at you and I'm thinking where did the start last time you were here? I don't think I ever asked what it was when you were a kid because I know that you lived in different places when you were growing up. Yeah did you always have this feeling? This was what you wanted to do was at well I started. Dancing was started dancing at a young age. I clearly liked to perform and when we moved twin falls Idaho. I was in third grade and my mom had my brother and I dish for a local community theater. Children's group called jump company junior musical playhouse and she just thought it was. She was just trying to help us make friends 'cause moving from town to town and she she didn't want us to necessarily get stuck in the cliques. At school she she liked the idea of it being community and my mom always liked to do theatre in college and high school so We went and auditioned to be in the best Christmas pageant ever and You know then all of a sudden I was on stage in musicals and doing bye bye Birdie and the chorus in the background and I was like this is. This is where it's at this. This is the most fun I'm ever going to have and I just continued to do it and I just found so much joy and at and singing and dancing and doing the whole thing that I just kept kept going but when you moved again you will go into Virginia to and we went to Virginia after Idaho so when I went to Virginia was the first time that I could take Acting classes in high school as a option. You know as an elective course so my brother. Yeah my brother had been in theater or drama class and so I was so excited because now I was like I can like start to really study. Be Real actress and And I went in and I remember some of the senior students. I was a freshman and they were like. Oh you're really serious about acting and I was like. Oh yeah definitely when I you know and I got a lead in in the in the school play and I was the new kid and I was a freshman and everyone was like ooh fresh. Br One I think it was a blithe spirit. Oh Yeah Ghost. A ghost ghost perfect thing. I had read that. You were bullied at the time when you were going to school in Virginia. Yeah when I first showed up. I was kind of Quirky Weird kid from Idaho that like listen to like new wave music but wore birkenstocks. And like like I. I just like no one could figure out what my story was and I I just. There weren't sort of categories of people where where I went to school in Idaho. You were a kid and I just happened to have like sort of my mom would help me make clothes and I would see something a magazine and we would make some weird snakeskin pants and I just I didn't realize it was sort of odd Until I got to Virginia and everyone was like. Oh you're weird. Trust me here weird and I was like maybe I am and and I immediately went into drama class. Which of course alienates you in some high schools already. Sadly put you with other alienated. And they're the best big creative Weirdos together with the rest of them yes so you know as the years went by then I sort of went through my sort of rock and roll punk goth all that stuff and and just celebrated being different. Didn't they're still? I'm still one hundred percents. People are like. Oh it's so funny that you were. I'm like I am still God. I don't let this Rambo sweater fairly lax eye. Shadow is a black lipstick. Saying yes I will do that. Let's have her. That Goth is bring her temper. Gabby Gabi really. She's the she's in there. You go just vocally in there to do that. How NOT to get Discouraged After Getting MULTIPLE "No" Responses On Sales Calls

"Right so one of my clients message me recently. Actually this happened last week when my clients went over seven on his sales calls over seven so literally call after call after call. It was like he would ask them to enroll. They said no seven times in a row and I don't know how many of you guys have ever gotten on seven calls in a row begotten seven nose in a row but you can imagine how discouraged was after getting seventy dollars like he messaged me and he was like do like screw. This man like I'm so done with this. Bs like just another person. Say No to me on the phone. I just had another person said that they don't have the money. Everyone's broke February sucks. It's not a good month people. Just don't have the money right now. I just keep getting these broke ass people on the phone and so for me like I get it like I've been there so like I let them ramble and I'll just let 'em ramble and Rambo and Rambo but how like it sucked and then I was like dude. Okay okay enough like stop. I was like Bro. Like guaranteed guaranteed. You're saying something on these calls that's causing them to say no right guarantee. There's something that you're saying on these calls with potential prospects that's causing these people to say no and I absolutely guarantee that if we fix that problem in the process you're going to start to get some yeses so I made them role play with me amid him. Get on the phone and like sell me as a client and we role played where he was selling as a coach and I was pretending to be the client and we did. He was doing a few things that I talked about in a previous episodes. If you guys really want upper sales game and you'd want the practical step by step go watch three golden nuggets to your sales game but we fixed those things and on the next eight calls. He went eight for eight. So after going over seven and getting zero calls or zero sales and seven calls he went eight for eight and thirty six hundred dollars so guys. I want to give you guys three practical mind shifts three Paktika like absolute necessary mindset ships. That need to happen so that you guys never get discouraged on your sales calls because discouragement is the enemy of you growing success business. Like if you're like not book and cause because you're feeling sorry for yourself or people keep saying no like that is the enemy of your growing business. So I'm going to be three practical mind shifts. That never get discouraged on your sales calls so number one practical mindshift number one. Everyone is going to have objections. Everyone is going to have objections. First of all on my fitness coach. Every single person that you're going to get on the phone with is going to have an objection about whether or not they can take action a Finnish course. The reason that most people are struggling in their fitness goals in the first place is because these people have been making excuses for their fitness journeys for the last three five seven. Maybe twenty years. They've been saying themselves. It's not the right time you know like my kids are in school or I don't have the money or focused on other things. I gotTA CHECK WITH MY spouse like most of the clients that you guys get on the phone with been making excuses their entire life so just because they're interested in transforming their body and they're interested in your almond. Coaching program does not mean that they're ready to take out a credit card. And commit to you. So all my fitness coach. The first thing that you need to understand not to get discouraged on your sales calls is everyone is going to have an objection. So you need to expect objections. I think a lot of finished coaches. I think it'd be reasonable. Why do you guys are getting discouraged is because you just expect people to fall in your lap? Like I'm just GONNA get on a call with the client and they're just going to pay me the money. I'm just going to run through the script. And they're just GonNa pay me the money guys people are GonNa have objections. That's why they're stuck in their current situation. So if you understand that everyone's going to have an objection then you won't take it personally when they have an objection like Oh. I don't have the money like I kinda thought you were going to say that. So let's talk about it and then you have a conversation instead of saying like. Oh I don't have the money and you're like okay. You can go about it and I'll talk to you in like a week. People are going to have objections. So you have to expect that. Everyone's going to have an objection. Just come with that expectation and then be willing to have a conversation with them all right so key number one mindset shift that you guys need to understand if you guys are tuning in right. Now it'd take some notes. Write this down. People are going to have objections. Stop expecting people to fall in your lap. Everyone's going to have an objection. Okay all right. So the mindset number one people are going to have just like understand that okay mindset number two mindset shift number. Two guys need to go through in order to never get discouraged. On your sales calls is sales is a learnable. Skill sales is a learnable skill. I think that too many people take rejection. Personally I wanna Kinda hit you with this one and let me know if this kind of hits home for you. Have you ever gotten rejected on a call? And you just feel like you suck as a coach. Have you ever gotten rejected as calling you like on man? I suck at this if you guys are like that like somebody says not on the phone yourself. This sucks I suck at this as ever said that. I'm not good at sales. I've always been terrible sales. Getting a no on the phone doesn't mean you suck as a person getting a no on the phone. Means you're sale skills might suck straight up getting on. The phone doesn't mean you suck as a person getting in on the phone means you're sales skills might suck straight up. I just WanNa be straight with you guys. I don't WanNa be guys but let's talk about doing squats because we're all night coaches. We understand squats right. So do you guys remember the first time you did a squat like the first time ever walked into a gym and you got under the bar and you did a squat right do you remember how terrible terrible like the first time. I did like a full body so I was like terrible I do. I was horrible. I squad was terrible but the more that I went into the gym and the more that it had squats the better I got at them. I actually hired a personal trainer so I had an in person training for like a year and a half two years so that they can educate me on the proper form. Get better squats. He helped me improve my form and so the more that I practice the exercises that the personal trainer gave me right the more that I practice mobility in a form etc etc. The better my squad get guys. Sales is the exact same thing. If you're getting a no on the phone stopped crying and bitching about it and do something about it. Study sales sales is a learnable skill. You can get better over time. You will get better over time. If you don't get discouraged discouragment those the enemy of progress because you're GONNA get discouraged. Me Man Suck at this. I'm terrible at sales. Nobody says yes to me. Nobody has the money everyone's broke. That's like all bs all of it. People saying they don't have the money for your program as a signpost for me that your sales skills need work. Nobody has the money to hire finish coach. Somebody wants to take three hundred fifty dollars under the bank account and pay you for monthly service. Somebody wants to give you a thousand dollars for twelve week. Nobody wants that but if you practiced in the art of enrolling them into your program and you are good at getting people to say yes people will see ask because I want to commit to their goals. Sales is a learnable skill. Getting knows on the phone stopped crying about it and start doing something about it. Steady sales literally go to youtube and wash them Denmark videos if you go to youtube study. Dan Lock democracies sales wizard. He's an expert watch videos. You could watch them all day study sales. I'M GONNA start with my clients right now because I know a lot of my clients. Listen this if you're in my course right now and you're getting knows on the phone. You better be at savage sales every Thursday when we post the training straight up. And if you're not at savage sales and you're not studying sales and you're complaining about the sales game I don't care straight up like sales learnable skills so if you're getting no's on. The phone studied the art of sales better over improve. Make sure you're holding. Your skill set makes getting better over time. Ask for feedback from coach. If you're in my course. Please ask me for feedback. It's like I'll accept you complaining a little bit and then I'll say how do we get better from here? Watch youtube videos. You don't suck as a person. Your sales skills might suck okay. There's a difference. So if your sales sales suck make better right so sales's learnable skill that's number two. That's the second mindset shift that we need to go through okay now mindset shift number three mindset shift number three. This is the most important once. You're taking notes please. This is the one you need to write down. I'M GONNA say it's slow to get every no is one step closer to yes. Every no is one step closer to yes straight up. I actually like it when people say no to me on the phone. It's weird like I actually like it. Maybe if I got seven or eight and relegate kind of Pissy but anyways I kinda like it when people say notably phone I actually do because when somebody says not me on the phone. That means that I'm one step closer to somebody saying yes. This is actually a game that we play my circle to my circle of close friends. That are all in the business like if one of us starts getting a bunch of knows on the phone. We always recycle that Bourbon factory. Where we're like every knows one step closer to yes guys. Although sales is a learnable skill people are still going to say no to you like even the best sales people in the world still get knows it happens and guys if you don't have the skin and for somebody saying no to you like you're just not in the right game. This isn't for you. Understanding that sales is a numbers game. And you can get better at sales. But you'll still get nose on the phone will allow you to improve your sales over time and get better and progressively move into the next call's enthusiasm. I think we can kill your sales game and kill your enrollment game is if you get into this mindset where you're like getting discouraged because you're on calls and people are saying no to you and then you start thinking yourself like on. Nobody has the money in Boban. Maybe I'M NOT CUT OUT FOR THIS. And then you get on the next call in the next call actually want to buy from you but because you're in such a negative head space you push them away right so every no is one step closer to yes is a mindset that will allow you to show up to calls with enthusiasm it will allow you to show up to potential calls with clients with like energy and enthusiasm because you know you. Just gotTa know. This might be yes. That's the way that I view it so I actually like when people say no to me every no is one step closer to yes. So if you're an online fitness coach this is like a great closing rate so a great closing rate is one and three calls. If you're closing one. Three calls absolutely phenomenal. If you've been on five caused and you've only close one you need to work on your sales game. You need to be closing one in every three calls or getting on if you're not you need some work to do you decide sales. Go Watch videos on YouTube. If you're in my course you better be at savage sales every Thursday. We have a sales training every week right. So Great. Closing rate is one of three. If you're under one and three you need to work on. Your sales gain a phenomenal closing rate. Like if you're doing really good is two and three calls if you're closing every two and three calls your savage you're amazing you need to give yourself pat on the back. It's doing good if you're closing every single call you get on. You should probably increase your prices because that's saying like your program super high value and everyone's like Oh my God. I can't believe it's cheap. You should probably increase prices all right guys when you get. No I want you to get excited because every no is one step closer to a yes.

Jackie's Coming Out Story

"Out for. The swearing comes Jackie. Haiku poet Comedian Anthony. To Mak- she grew up in skelmersdale in northwest England. I'm just white hair about her. First sheltered crushes. I think she's the first person that's ever taught me about being attracted to an object couple of into this. Well I always take the bisexual box literally but the small size ends than that isn't the I like. The word Queer is on fire with an lots waves produced Survive Queen just meaning like fucking things off like an assault of of quite like you know doing it wrong for any sort of purposeful goods. Why saw linked to and GAL rank had to go wrong. Even crepe wrong lights disabled wrong so that people can say me so got one leg and so I- folk that applied instead of being like the. Oh God of Gotland Lego. Pull me or you know whatever light the thing that people expect to be as I do like stump poetry. An you'd like you know you've got to get a celebrity is obviously so it's like things to fuck shit open. A really goes. Why THEM OPENLY SURF expectation? So that's your favorite subject to them. Basically yeah yes. That's what it's called like. Calm Yourself Queer. Because that's what I'm about ways so alike but then when you say queer people like what does she really mean. What's the real sexuality as if it's an umbrella term that means nothing? I don't think that I love it so then you like you're right. Yeah you just want to know. What jets wholesome into his own? Yeah so I mean some yeah. Yeah so all of them all of them and then as problem as advice actual isn't words now. It's the the problem of sexual I mean. A lot of people now are saying Pan Sexual as opposed to vice may be in the past. Marta said bisexual this big shift. Isn't that the problem with bisexual? So people again and a couple of ood might people's on from scam in Wigan listen cone means like he got he got gangrene loving bisexual because of buy into so people like that means that you only like men and women. I'm by taming. You hate transpeople. Or You are an unseen. Non Binary so. That's absolute bollocks. You know historically bisexual people of been translated some advice on use of limited space. It's not like Oh you're bisexual you've got twice. The amount of exceptions gay people hate you straight people here generally people just keep the fucking down which at some yes so historically. It's like being bisexual rights. I don't care about being accepted by any of the group of people Which is true as well of being non binary and Trans and you know occupying all. I'm spices song. Yes was bullshit just because just because the prefix by means ten means that people can really like so fixate on the Ron and going Oh do you know what this represents people and people more complicated than that? By definition you probably would identify as being panned. But you'll just quite happy using by sexual stuff is just like the underdog. I just wanted to defend the word bisexual. Rarely saw stay with it and also I just saw a fought for inside and outside to me. That's because it's you're yourself as well an fought for it for so long about. Just give it all you know so. We'll just fight the case for because there's a lot of sex was out there but the core find not enough people put their head over the parapet and go. Yes me. I'm bisexual. Well exactly. Yeah and especially when you've got a platform if you perform in some sense because you don't know that she giovanna you're gonNA pay the rent Matassa if you like. Oh Yeah Bisexual and the streets you folks on what Stacey Wipe People's so it was sort of come to the conclusion that you were by social what was like my first crush was multiple. Was on tremendously Sasi. Yeah like h three with multiple. I was very very politically correct when it was on the way. Multiple glomma model lovable and Rambo. Rambos Rob Rumba Joe Jr so take like Kinsey. You know it was the people you love some crushing Mongo. I'm moms what you call this. Big Massive St that Intel from the way of Santana big massive tape Zack. Were get so plus plus two. What about the guests that was in there with the group? I was as a Christian Catholic blaster as well. Okay well. This is moving into a whole news. Fair inanimate objects as well well you'll stay. There was just so didn't have any I mean. I think I haven't changed that much since I've lived like quite hard life but in another way quite charmed life because of never rarely socialized. I've never had an office job. I add my parents who great I was never really told off. Fancying ghetto blaster. So we're never stops at quick fair enough check. And you're the first person that's come out. Mister trump's object today like you. I didn't know that you sexually with age child. You wouldn't really so. When was the first time you sort of articulated that and said maybe to your family or someone that union Joran advance and Brooke signs and at been getting the balls up phrases. Well I should suppose that was some some of whom Ananta parents and it didn't say to them moms odds I'm bisexual because it sounds to sexual you know like even just saying the words something sexual Siemens feels embarrassing society as well. He's just embarrassed. The rivalry so aside at the the girl saying I'm not my friends. That's my girlfriends. Go thirteen year. But she wasn't she didn't really like me. That's why USC skips over at nine nine thousand virus so you were having a relationship with not just it was you liked to. I live in a world of delusion. It's like even citizens vets-go angle most the most the reality of this because one year reis from performing you re rice life the narratives in your own life because you use it using the angle. What really happened so at thirteen? There was a girl at school. Presumably that you liked. Did you tell her that you know I was studying like everyone I think is? Is that my sexuality? Always been like a won't the elicit thing on the saying I'm not meant today once a Catholic school. So maybe that's so you're not meant to go out with women but then once so as like very established in the lesbian community. It's like Oh you're allowed to go out with women now. So that's not fun anymore for how Lesbians Hate is shackled men. Let's go to that and then once it was like Oh Giannis just bisexual or okay. So now I'm allowed to Shag out everyone on so where to go. Now so did you. Really get flack from les pins than for food. Let me yeah. Yeah Yeah I was angry. Sort of twenty something. You get more people on the late. I didn't see you face. Those quad knock ECOWAS land. I wasn't this wonderful chairman. Of course you got loads of like bi phobia. I go threatened and stuff life performance pride and do stuff about bisexuality and go like threatens and the Beer Garden say threatens me and you know when you think Oh my God. I'm going to get my kicks usually annoyance and like some people get an annoys for being in Chris Vices or existence in general and then you got like straight people alike. Think just think that it means the Kinky and you WanNa go fronts while I watch so. Why is it so difficult for people to comprehend? I've never really understood. It's just proud. People love binary is learning. People are obsessed with like extremes. The idea that the world's and people are just very gray area and everything's fluid scares the shit our people because humans needs the categorize things like pick a solid any side. Exactly you feel miserable. Yeah it's just don't give a Shit. Choose one very very similar to the football analogy. Yeah it's interesting. I know why phobia exists. I've certainly dated a lot bisexual. Men over the years and a half off lesbian friends. Turn around and go Emma. Why are you bothering? Yeah and the assumption is. They'll never commit to you. Because in the end of the day they will go up and find him on these sump. Shen and then I guess in straight world. The assumption is for men that you're going to go off and leave them for women so you can just want you have kinky sacks. Yeah yeah difficult so you haven't told me yet. The conversation over brookside. What happened to be here for us? So let's go back in time and they were just like okay. It wasn't a difficult kid but I was fucking whimsical. You know thought could fly. It was a more lowest much so they were just like okay okay. I think they saw us. It was a phase but because it was a faizy kid not because they were pricks. And you said you couldn't say reverse bisexual. So how did he phrase it? What did he say? I sat this girl. I such as my girlfriend but then you start talking about what she really Alfred portion on you have to keep coming out so it was. It was years I was being bisexual. I would say it was bisexual swell the people and then Owens University and I was so excited about joining and it was just the algae bay then feel old. I was so excited about being around people and then I got there and it was like Oh okay. You know survival instincts that sends us and you like folk. I should say. Espn so then. There was a lesbian to try. And Fa these people are whenever fest with anyway so it was more of a class thing than a sexual thing but anyway he didn't think that except you. You said that you were born. Not Definitely

Dog King: King of the Dogs

"Today. We Find Dog King King of the dogs sitting on His throne gazing easing out at his kingdom. It was beautiful that morning shining and bright. Like a weld shooed. Bone the lovely trash and old boxes and mattresses that usually littered the alley kingdom were hidden atop at all like a layer of sweet frosting on a stale cinnamon bun from the dumpster behind behind the donut. Shop was a layer of snow it had fallen during the night laying down a few pillowy pristine inches soon own. It would be marked by paws and tales it would be stained yellow again and again and then trampled into slush for now though it was simply leap. Perfect it's so beautiful. World Dog King said climbing upon his dirty mattress thrown he had added a Grungy Green Green Garland to his cardboard crown and they both sat crooked on his shaggy head. Isn't it gorgeous buddy. uh-huh said pickles breaking through the snow like a newborn penguin. He shook himself from tip to tail wiggling and sending snowflakes flying. The A little Chihuahua was dog king's royal assistant but how much assistance he provided was up for debate. Easy for you to say Your Highness. sinus is right. You're tall and you have snow privilege. Dog Kings scratched at one year. And then the other relocating more than a a few families of fleas and what is no privilege. Well it's simple when you squat to pee. Your rile but doesn't as to the ground. If I was meant to be in the calls I'd have more for my great aunt. Norman now was a hairy dog. Looked like a wig. On a mission auto swear dog king laughed and pulled pickles out of the snow lifting him by the scruff of the neck. Like a mother would a puppy. He sat his shaking friend in his favourite flowered bike basket. It was propped up on some crates up and out of the snowy drifts. I will take curve it dog king said and then he started digging on one side of the alley. His big shaggy pause moved mounds of snow with every scoop. Hey John King said Rambo the pit bull had just walked into the alley dragging giant gnarled log in his teeth eighth. Are you digging. I love a good dig. He got room for one more. Come on in said Don King. The digging is fine. Oh boy said Rambo leaping in and out of the snow bouncing on his paws on mcgibbin ticket revving up. I'M GONNA tunnel straight to Australia over here. Snow Rambo eventually stopped fighting the snow and started helping dog king. More dogs talks began to trickle in and some help dig kicking snow wildly and taking the occasional frenzied bite. Soon there was a clear patch of ground and the short dogs were able to conduct their business without freezing their tails off. Thank Christmas said pickles. Still Shivering I thought it was going to be more and more dogs arrived and dog. King took his seat on his throne tongue. Long lulling and snow stuck all in his coat making him look like a mangy polar bear or maybe a cloud that got into the garbage. So ooh what's on the royal scheduled. Today he asked this morning work decorating the alley pickle said it's going to be so pretty perfect and then the party. Yes party lights. Pickles started to a shake with excitement his little body trembling like a snowflake in the wind and the stuff and the square. Sweet Georgia Brown. The squeakers can't wait to sink my teeth into a good Christmas squeaker center. I've been so good I've been the goodness by Don King smiled and greeted the rest of the dogs as they arrived. Some live nearby like dog king pickles and others had homes around the city but they all came for the holiday party. Everyone was especially excited because this year for the first time they were all getting together. Early to decorate rambos giant logs started the pile but it was only the beginning. Pickles Nichols and Annie dragged in a mostly Green Christmas tree. Broadway brought him minora with mismatched candles. One of which looked suspiciously like a hotdog. Other other wrecks brought candles of his own and Luke the golden doodle brought a small drum that he had chewed up only a little just around the edges on and on they came laden with holiday supplies or food or both there were down. Nations with decorations. Pekingese steeping steeping. Tease retrievers Corgis in oodles. rotties and Beagles and poodles. There were Matz as big as reindeer and Mutt so small they could could fit in a gift box. Broadway came with a Cask of hot broth tied around her neck and she was pouring it onto lapping tongues with bad accuracy but good reviews dog. King patted down the alley to where a group was talking. Garland and Crown wobbling atop his royal head. He accepted did a mouthful and apple and knows full of hot broth from Broadway and stood with his friends. So what's with that. Big Log brought sugar pie. The Saint Bernard asked Rambo. That's a yul log. Rambo replied my mom's. Take me to the woods every year and we burned in one with a bunch of their friends. Altogether I get to chew sticks and last year I almost caught a squirrel. It's my favorite holiday. The the dogs all agreed that that sounded like a pretty excellent time. We always do Christmas said pickles. My family gets altogether even even my great aunt. And I get a stocking with my name on it and everything. And it's full of treats and a new stuffy with a squeaker I've gotten a fuzzy duck a fuzzy Moose of Flamingo Another as an elephant an alligator. We always get a Christmas Christmas tree and he said I'm always the first one to pee on it Christmas Eve my humans leave out cookies and milk and sometimes I sneak sneaker bite later I hear something in the chimney and I fall asleep when I wake up. There are presence. I wake up everyone else and we all sit under the tree and open in our presence together as a family a lot of the other dogs new Christmas and thought it was a fun day but they were divided on wrapping paper half thought that tearing it open was the best part of all and the other half thought it crinkled in a way that was entirely too spooky way do Hannukah said Bronwyn and others around. Her nodded their heads. It's around Christmas but not always at the same time. We do eight nights and my people in I all come together to celebrate the invention of lot. CAS which pancakes made a potatoes and the best food in the whole world. I like mine with sour cream and apple sauce and maybe some gravy to Hanukkah's more about the temple in Jerusalem said Dexter the bulldog but you're right about the lot 'cause in the dribbles especially the one my girls play with. They get all sticky with candy He smacked his slobbery flip. I love a good Radel. Best eight nights of the year. The next state can be a little rough though a lot of drills coming up non if you know what I mean who my family does. Seven nights said Luke ours is kwanzaa and we have seven candles plus stories. He's and dancing and the drums like a big party. All of us together. Hey have you ever chewed a good drum sometimes somtimes. They have leather in the middle. It's like the most tender rawhide you've ever chewed. You can really taste the music man man.

These Are The WORST Games of 2019

"The worst games of twenty nine thousand nine all right and definitive. This is definitive and we played any of them. You and I have played one of them. Okay Yeah I wonder if I've played any of them I know I haven't I bet which means I did. Good Yeah you chose wisely. That's true we put up an article on this This week the article was very specifically the worst reviewed games and it was based on the metacritic scores. Because the truth is allow. These games idea doesn't even review because if it's a game that no one's ever heard of it's not doing anyone much services say hey here's a game you've never heard of. It's really bad. That's a good way to not very useful information information. But there's some high profile games from high profile Delo developers and publishers like squaring and left alive. Whoa you remember that one? No and it's Square. Kleenex live weight in review. We did that one. Yeah okay so we're only talking about the ones. We reviewed. Okay well there might be one gender Eh. Critics gems Yeah this is actually our lowest score the year three point eight. Wow that's as low as we got got. Yeah that is a rare the score for us. Yeah let's have. Some people were interesting. Because it used the artist that used to work a metal gear so the art was sort of reminiscent of Medicare but Kulik Kulik pinky like kind of style. Yeah Okay in our view. Call The creek creaky and frustratingly broken mix of stealth action. That's just what you want. is frustrating frustrating stealth any game. That's the worst combination possible so three point eight is as low as got. It's been a long time since we've given out like a one. I looked. Yeah I think two thousand and five what was it. It was like Elf bowling but it was ever boy it was elbowing one and two one. One carts yeah. That's really when you what about like bowling was free as like a flash game that you played free. But you'd rather pay for it. You WanNa play on your Nintendo DS. At least a two. If there's two games in their oneplus exact maybe it was one zero or two point five. We were in a meeting where a pair told us there was zero given even out and we said what was it for immediately. Should the name of a hockey game that we've never heard of so. I don't know if it's true or not I want to say I don't know if I want to say it was a an Olympic game it was it was a hockey. We're all right. It's both of them. They re released that year is hockey game and the review is zero and it says when you make a new game will write a new review. Yeah it was just. It was last year's game with new box art which I think happened with Viva this year actually on switch. But that's in their the twenty legacy addition addition for that was a switch version and I Jeans Review. I think it was Simon reviewed. It said this honestly no genuine reason. I could give you to purchase fever. twenty-nine switch if you already own fee for nineteen on switch which we gave it a four and even nineteen was matic. Simon should have given it zero that wouldn't really reserves Zeros for like utterly broken. I can't barely low the game. I'm not confident. Giving his era wouldn't break something on energy. I if I were I would make it my goal to make a game that I would review and give zero two. So how would you so that you can get the Guinness World Record for quickest failure. Well I think the point it would be a lot of copies because it's bad that because we get attention women get attention because it got zero. I'm picking up with SAM. swigging down what. He's saying. Novelty like Munib on twitter. Actually broken game generally ignore Games we get us to review it the slap slap on like marvel on the title thanks Star Wars. And you just can't let expensive license and zero game. Sounds like a really bad journey an evil Virginia's that Evil billionaire genius. And that's exactly what it's been my time doing or if it came from a studio well-known studio that we typically review games from either they can throw all their money away and with crash bandicoot literally crash like it just crash crash. That's the only way to get zero. A Contra game came out this year a new Contra Game Longtime Damon forced me to play we did play it and play. We haven't talked since looks like we're talking to each other right now but I'm actually talking to Tina Justin only Samsung even in the room. It's weird record. Santana San Spread separately. So who do we play. Cj I think to the three players top down Contra game and to be Fair Contra has had top down segments before entre three the alien wars. Yeah but it's just it wasn't didn't feel like a contra game but it was like Okay Schutte top down thing gave it a four. That's not okay okay. It would be a sick Sam but but I didn't review it giving it a sick I play enough to review withhold judgment. It was pretty bad and it's just like honor consciousness in a very sad state of affairs over Konami right now so it's been a long running beloved game series. It hadn't seen a new entering a long time Hammond Hoof. That was not what people want. Can you imagine being the artists digital the metal gear art and then being like I'm out of here and getting your game review as a three point eight or do you think contras a good candidate for getting unlike the God of war style boot like take it very seriously. Lemur cinematography version just like lean into the seriousness of the character and like introspection inspection of his past bill and bringing all sorts bill. That's a good point. It's already a knockoff of Terminator Alien. Yeah so it's like like just maybe those franchises should make a game but I know alien have some pretty good speaking of all that this is a this is a tangent retake a strange corner I I just think new term bombed at the box office new Rambo bombed New Alien bombed last year or two years ago. I just wonder if like that. That's sort of the eighties. Installed your wells. Drying up or nine hundred installs franchises for very cheap and make a game that would get scored as zero journey. The silliest Yes yes exactly yet they did blade runner sadly also later honor which I thought was a good movie credible movie I loved that movie. Okay moving we on bad games worst games. WWE K twenty which has been pending? It's been bad for a long time to have a fever and w beyond there that are like that rejected by their audience is in that bad is really really crappy. Because as we're like the heights of their franchises either Games Assira could give that a four point three really really botched. WWe This year Mitchell. It's a buggy mess though buggy mess but his game play also feels notably worse than previous years. Remember this stretchy people running around doing so. I mean if you look at it as a comedy game. It's a nine awesome. See that's the thing if I had it for you that game aside from and not knowing anything about WB. I think it gets and pleasure out of it because it was just so stupid. Able there's vibrating through the ropes simulator. You Guys Know Avalanche Studios. What do they make you mad? Max and just 'cause yeah yeah they put out a game. This year called generation zero. No one knows that I know nobody knows that but it they put out a game and we gave it a four okay. I know it's crazy. You would think Max okay which is really good and just goes but they put out this generation zero game who've pretty bad and then there's Wolfenstein Wolfenstein Wolfenstein cyber pilots we didn't that's the VR game. We actually didn't review it but it has a fifty on metacritic in there. Much of the criticism is directed at It's a very short story. underwhelming comment combat in general lack of content. So it doesn't make everybody universally puke. nope is that would be a really cool. VR game another goal of mine all those people that play VR. And they're like Nah doesn't make me motion sick. I'll make in my next game. You want the badge for that. A terrible kind of a bad year for Wolfenstein youngblood didn't make much of an impact either. I didn't play it but I wanted to play it. I still want to play. That's that's impact. Can you believe the latest leisure suit. Larry the reviewed very well. It has a fifty if lead is Larry hasn't been good or popular appealed forever and had thirty years of games. Like how do you reconcile that. Who is making it an exchanging license and buying it and making more games? I just I don't get how it happened. I think it's the original guy critters. Don't make Larry Yeah. Speaking of Terminator there was a new terminator game called Terminator Resistance. We gave it a four. Don't remember that that might not just came out wrestling okay. What I was going to share leaser shoot suit? I can't say that leisure suit. Larry how did you just do that. And a lot of the original game had very body content and and so a to ensure that no kids played it. You had to answer trivia question when you booted the game up about that. Only adults would know what was the name of Presidents Reagan. President Reagan's Blah Blah Blah. Pretty good. "You got. PTSD with dramatic stuff in Vietnam all the get some therapy. I think that would really help you out route like stop killing people. Did you guys okay. You guys can come back in did you guys wonder like what's going to happen like obviously cops. We're going to have to show up or something. Is he going to bury all these. SUV's tall he's GonNa have to explain this first of all. I think he has seen a shrink. Where else did he get those antipsychotic beds that Heathrow on the ground I mean he was taking being some sort of psychotropic drug. My Wife's theory was he had actually tunnel to Mexico. He was helping El Chapo out to escape. An intern was getting the opioids because you just can't get those anymore in the states but then also he is so far out on that ranch. Is anybody coming I mean I don't think cops regularly drive by farmland in my state by be true. I had the same thought. How is he going to clean up this mess and then when he collapses all the tunnels at the end. I'm like well thank goodness. He had a plan for that because he bird everybody underground when he collapsed all the tunnels but it's the SUV's in the front of House. How is he going to explain this. I have no idea because honestly he's going to prison for murder. Regardless heartless. I mean I know it's self. Defense really is self defense but then again he was also prepared for it with all the explosive. He knew it was coming. He went over the border. Just straight up murdered a guy like that. That is still murder but that's across the border. There's no US jurisdiction there. Apparently there's no cops it all there yet. Well no there to protect the bad guys as we'll see when they go to that that house here's the weird thing for me again with this film where it has nothing to say he had this whole conversation with Carmen where she's like. Oh I'm going to expose and he's like well. That's not gonNA change anything. That's pointless. You've got to take action and she's like no you grieve and you move on and what is. Rambo changed here like he and all the rapists and drug dealers in Mexico no like like he hasn't accomplished anything like he didn't free any of the other girls he tried and they wouldn't go and that really. I understand it sells me on how much they've been psychologically ackley beaten into submission sure yeah. He never goes back and saves them. Does he call the feds like does he call trump. Go look you. GotTa call this out. Trump would have been happy to call out this kind of thing going on in and getting some kind.

"I hope he gets a cool Dan. I don't care I know they're just all. GonNa die did occur to me that this tunnel sequence is reminiscent of Rambo three when he's running around with Trotman killing those guys in those tunnels in the jail so finally another call back to a Rambo moment that we've known albeit a little thin but it's still we've seen remember this sort of thing before and it's a nice little call back for those of us who remember remember Rambo three my wife. She's like the best part is I gotTa Hear Door Song. I guess he does that. Just throw him off and they can't hear him creeping around. What Song Was it. I couldn't understand it was it was did you catch. The song's. Title is five to one which is a military song. It was written about the Vietnam War because they were saying that one in every five live is getting drafted and Jim. Morrison wrote that song about it but it's most famous lyric is no one here gets out alive and that's what was the message being accent here. Yes very on those. I just never pictured Rambo being doors fan but who knows maybe he's not going to find the perfect song to play and this is the one he came up with it would make accents that Rambo in Phnom would have listened to the music of the sixties in the early seventy three so the doors he just he hasn't kept up with the newbies although he he did tell Maria he liked what Gabrielle and her friends were listening to at their party so I did the body count here. I wanted to get Rambo's kill count because we had on our site way back in twenty eleven when we did the series. I don't remember that yet. Rambo Kills Forty five in this movie. He Kills Four Rescuing Cueing Gabrielle. He kills four when he beheads the crime boss. There's thirty seven kills now. I'm guessing four people in the truck that exploded. I I didn't actually see them but if there were four in their count thirty seven deaths here too much or is this what we needed for a Rambo film I mean it feels like a lot less that he killed in Burma. Uh I didn't even realize there was like thirty. Something gangsters coming to get them over the border. I it it felt. Maybe like fifteen felt about half of that. Oh no no it felt like thirty guys for sure. Are you counting the nieces death in that body count or only the ones that Rambo kills no. I'm counting Rambo's kill count. I would count it from being a neglectful full caretaker when he should have just gone down. That's cruel man by the blackness of Jacob's aren't changing Lord word dark man but when watching it I felt like it was a lot of slaughter but when I think about how Rambo films have ended since part too I mean part one he blew up a town but we like to think he didn't hurt anybody except for Trautman but Rambo to flying that chopper and blowing up all those Vietnamese and Rambo three killing all the Russians Rambo for. I don't think there's anybody left in Burma. I guess this is what a Rambo film says. It's following the formula right. I guess maybe in that aspect I duNNO I. I've never been obsessed with what the body count is Rambo Film. Let's check now playing PODCASTS.

"I did not see this. Did you see the International. I don't remember this at all. They walked down some stairs in a dirt and then you see the wall and then you see them come up the stairs in America into like a store Rome with guns and cars. That's crazier than them just driving through that barb wire fence yeah. I think that's why there's an entire caravan of Mexicans coming into Arizona. Zona is to show us how easy it is. That's the political message I took from it before they get there. We have a little mini montage of Rambo finishing up the traps and getting things ready to go and then the guy's drive up and first blood is drawn. If you will win one of the cars drive over a land mine and then all of a sudden the big river of fire comes up from that big trophy did before and then the guys get out of the car and I'm thinking to myself why aren't there land mines all over the front yard and they can end it right there because Rambo makes horrible decisions in this film throughout so yeah he plays his traps everywhere invites him into the tunnels where he could have really done a lot more damage outside. I did like this moment 'cause they. All got to go through this little pathway. They're approaching the barn and we saw him like pull like a grain dispenser something up there and it's like a sprinkler system shooting gasoline all over him so he could shoot them with these magnesium bullets that big flames coming out and that was kind of fun. Yeah I liked that. It was a good way to take a bunch out at the beginning. There's a a Lotta guys here and it's going to be very difficult to keep up with WHO's dying in which man it doesn't matter what's weird to me like they're going to get into the tunnels and I'm thinking okay. These are just a bunch of gangsters all the sudden though there swat tactical soldiers like doing hand motions and every okay. This is not what you set up. I Agree Korea. I thought they all have knowledge of how to use guns and how to do tactical and not I mean one guy does have a gold. AK47 it is not an AK47. I know you got expert occurred. I wanted to know because on Rambo's wall. I thought I saw an AK forty seven. I went and I did my research here. At I found you know the Internet movie. The database at a letter to it and you're at the Internet movie firearms down now identifies every gun in this film and it. It looks like that would be an ringo type. Fifty six one plated gold our listeners that are gun people appreciate that that you clarified yeah. I thought so too and I don't want to say anything I want to show off the talents and knowing the difference between those two but you know yeah. You're right totally right. I couldn't really see the the muzzle on that to figure it out and I thought Rambo had on the wall and AK forty seven. That's is what I was really looking at is what is Rambo's rifle because right now. AK's are very much in the news and if they're wanting to send a message about the wall would would they want to send a message by specifically having Rambo using AK forty seven no uses an m sixteen a one with a thirty round magazine. This doesn't mean anything to me. I just know they shoot bullets. It is a variant of the fifteen the one that everyone uses for the mass shooting. That's when you always hear about in the news so I guess they said the message. We need our air fifteen to stop the invaders. It is the well regulated militia. Rambo is the well-regulated militia so when we do horror movie retrospectives I respect is we typically go through the kills and how different Clever d- kills where we talk about how we're done like we did. Charles play earlier this year we talked about various kinds of methods of death so I was trying to keep up with the various methods of death in these tunnels thinking that we might talk about it a little bit but about five or six coming so fast and furious I could not write down fast fast enough and I figured it doesn't matter no it. Doesn't none of these people are characters that brief. I wouldn't say cared about that. Were invested in at all like Oh..

"All of a sudden has these tunnels but again we have seen Rambo set traps before so it was kind of Nice that he threw back to first blood in in that he was setting this up of course with very different intention but they're not gonNA come for him. I mean all he did was kill a few guys and Take Gabrielle. I don't think they're willing to to come and start a war in the states for that. He has to go down this time. It's personal and make sure that they come after him by again. Needing Karma to find out where victor lives and then here is a true montage of carnage really really what hit me watching. This is how little action we've had in his action movie and how Little Rambos done he went to Mexico pounded on door threatened. A girl got his ass kicked. It's not until now that we finally start getting Rambo and we're halfway through this this movie. That's why I'm so shocked when he gets the climax because I'm like well. Surely there needs to be like another big action scene. You can't just have like he's GonNa throw some knives and hit some people with the hammer hammer big action scene until the end and you get pretty consistent action through those other ones some of the big reasons feel like a Rambo film and I understand Danny's older and it's a different kind of Rambo. I get that kind of aspect of it but at the same time Rambo films have a certain way about them. Even the first movie has a way that you can and see how the other two came after a big derivation but this one does not feel like it belongs in the serious at all and it's a big reason is because it's missing a lot of these beats well. I felt like the Burma one missed quite a bit of action in the beginning to true but when it had a lot of action just ramble wasn't doing it other people were doing the violence right and then you had when he did come mm to play Rambo he was there like I was a Rambo movie regardless but this one even at the blast scene even these last action scenes. It's still felt enough like a Rambo movie. I guess but not enough for me to really feel this belongs in with the rest of the series. I want to know how hard rambo throws things. He throws knives at the speed of bullets because they are going so fast. They're penetrating skulls. Dress bones looked dudes ripped. I get that I don't know if you could do these with knives. Though knife throwing is very a fast may not be bullet fast but he is penetrating some again. Skull like at times at knife is coming out the other side. My issue with this whole movie is it's. It's kind of not feeling like a Rambo movie to me in a lot of senses and here again we have a throwback to Rambo taking with him out one at a time using these different kinds of cool sneaky ways that that we've seen him do before so I wasn't thinking about how hard it is in your screen with you. I think you're right but I didn't think about it..

"I know they're talking about a fourth one and they had the trilogy and they have their fans but these aren't aren't huge films like they used to make and I think that's why we're seeing our action. Heroes go back to the well. We're going to in just a couple of weeks. Be Discussing Very Old Arnold Schwarzenegger Egger in a Terminator Film trying to explain to me how a robot ages and here. We're back at Rambo. I think it's going back to those. There's something else I noticed though that I didn't put together when we did our Rambo retrospective series the pattern wasn't there the first trilogy of Rambo Films what I thought for a long time would be the only Rambo films all Reagan era films eighty to eighty five eighty eight strong Republican force in this country Clinton era nothing nothing Bush era twenty eight. We get Rambo Back Obama era. Nothing now trump here. We are Rambo last blood. I make these movies. He's will only come out if there's a Republican in the executive. I figured that it was kind of his thing. I don't know who did direct this. I looked up. I know the the second unit director is I don't know like a first assistant to the director is like he's got a lot of those credits in one directing credit the assistant directors are the Dick's the director forgets to be nice and everything at the assistant directors the one who screams beyond set move over here yeah the one film did you get the Gringo was written by Mel Gibson. How did he get the job because get the GRINGO ABOUT MEXICANS. Here's what I found out looking them up. His name is Adrian Grunberg. He has been living in Mexico for fifteen years a he's raising his children in Mexico so as I understand it he was not born Mexican. He lives there now. He has lots over like the U. And his last name so yeah I don't. I think that's Mexican. He worked on a number of films with Mel Gibson including. They really became like friendly on apocalyptic. Oh where he was one of the the I eighty s and after that Gibson kind of came up to him and started talking to him about doing a film based on an American who ends up in a Mexican prison and these two cove road it together and spent a couple years figuring out the concept and everything when the time came he gave Grunberg his first chance at directing now this was many years ago though this is only Grunberg second film get the Gringo Watch. It never got released. theatrically here was direct video. It gives us an had taken many years off from acting after his whole meltdown yeah. I wonder why yes and this was kind of during the beginning of the comeback. I gotta say it's not a bad film. I actually rather enjoyed it is. Mel Gibson plays a criminal who runs to Mexico but is picked up by federal. He's he's on the border and because he has about two million dollars with them. The federales decided to take the money and throw them in Mexican prison rather than hand back over to the states. I watched watched it as well. It's the craziest Mexican prison. This prison is also a city your family come visit you. You could buy heroin shoot up. You could get tattoos. You could buy guns suns you can rent a tent and sleep with Hore..

"Contain in harsh language. Listener discretion is advised. I didn't come here to rescue rambler from you. I came here to rescue you from him. Today we're talking Rambo last blood starring Sylvester Stallone Paz Vega Sergio Perez Chetta Adriana Baraza Yvette Montreal and directed by Adrian Grunberg. This is Brock Co host of now playing this is Arnie and I'm GonNa tear you apart. Oh sorry I was just re securing one of the post on my podcast tunnels. This is Jacob. No wonder you always get such great sound. Quality Jacob best the best way to block out all the sound. Stewart and I have of police sirens lawnmowers subterranean. Yes my elaborate trenches that I've built underneath my home for fun. I mean you had nothing better to do should see my boundary to I can make you some letter openers just blacksmith and away down there. My wife loved the plant hanger. Thank you so much. Welcome back to our Rambo retrospective. That's words. I never thought I would say eleven years after the last movie and was it nine years since we record original series yeah it's become the new now playing curse when we started the show when we started our retrospectives anyway back in in twenty zero nine the now playing curse was we'd review a series and the sequels would never ever come out now. That outplaying curse has changed. We've review a series is that we think is dead. Oh my God like Zombie. It will never die. I mean children of the corn came back. How crazy is that. It's one of those blowing. My mind is brock. You're going to be back later this year. Talk fucking black Christmas Yeah Rambo. I thought it was dead after that fourth with one but I guess I wasn't reading enough articles because stallone has been talking about making another Rambo since twenty eight. Yeah I read had wikipedia so however accurate that is like he's like that fourth one is successful. There will be a fifth and yeah this is in development for a very long time different scripts one where he fights basically Idris Elba from Hobson. Shah genetically engineered human which sounds crazy for this franchise but lots of ideas were out there. I Guess Rambeau Abo- The twenty eight film was successful enough on a fifty million dollar budget globally. It made a hundred and thirteen million successful enough to get a sequel eleven years later later. This had to be green lit after creed success right to because we talked about this back in the day when we recorded this original series that Rocky Balboa was surprisingly well received received right and so of course he brought back Rambo again but even though that Rambo movie was already developed before rocky right well this now with all the heat on that. Why wouldn't you think about comeback. I was wrong again because as you just mentioned I read the same thing this move around in development for ten years so none of this factors come true at all. I guess what really did was. They decided we'll make it because of those other movies but he was planning this for a very long time. The question is what made him pull the trigger. No Pun intended. I gotTA think part of this is our eighties action. Heroes are all pretty washed up. These days aren't they. I mean Sylvester Stallone. We reviewed the creed creed movies. We liked him in it but you look at some of the other stuff that he's been working on. I couldn't believe escape. Plan was a trilogy of films that I tunes tried to sell me the same period all three. I know he comes back. In the second. One is he in the third one yeah wow but those are direct to video on either not released theatrically exactly xactly in this country that should be set okay internationally. Arnold and sly still bringing pretty big money. I mean you wouldn't think of Arnold Arnold Schwarzenegger still being a box office draw based upon his recent American films but they do great overseas. This movie did get Chinese backing like they're going to bring it out out there and it will probably make a ton of money and even the expendable..

'Downton Abbey,' 'Breaking Bad,' and Why TV Is Still Jealous of Movies

"Chris. You're here along with Amanda because you know a lot about television and Amanda and I are for a little bit out on television sort of as a general rule. I'm post. TV POST TV separate succession. Now there are some television shows that I love. I started to watch when this weekend that I think is incredibly well made which is called unbelievable but I was just home with my mom for a little while and she while she's a stranger to cable news but she adorable still gets a lot of her news from the newspaper so two days later she'll be like. Did you hear about Joe. Biden and I'll like what what do you mean. Did something new happens you know. Did you hear about this phone. Call and that's just what you did with unbelievable where you were like. I'm breaking to you guys that there's this show well no now. I admit I am one one week late and you've already covered the show on the WOK yeah. We've already covered the sh the show on the site. I just didn't have the time to get to you. I hear you I'm seeing all these movies but one thing that is interesting that it's happening right now is is that I even though the just happened and even though TV is having this incredible boom time I feel like TV is still a little jealous of the movies and we know that because Downton Tanabe rather than comeback as an eight part miniseries has decided to become a full length feature film and the people said. Yes they said Yes to the tune of thirty three million dollars a lot of money for an extension of the Downton Abbey University was a show that was popular and a phenomenon sort of when it started. I believe the first episode of the Hollywood respective podcasts was a recap of the Dow naby premier guess which is just amazing what times past its Niche Butler's Butler's and and and you know that's a show that I liked and I really did you recap Amanda you recap what an amazing time capsule of our life on the Internet in creating culture and now it's a fulling feature feature film which is something that I think twenty years ago it had happened you would have said Downton Abbey really grew up and stepped up to the big leagues in this case. I wonder how you guys feel about what what it means to extend what was once a broadcast. TV Show into movie platform and also like why why this movie work. Why did it work so well. I have a couple of sites and the answer answer of why to turn it into a feature film is money which worked out because it made thirty three million dollars we had a great piece on the ringer last week by writer named Kate Loyd who's based in London and it was he's about the downtown Abbey Economy essentially in how the show changed both tourism in the UK and like she went to a lot of fancy locations and like talk to British these people but also how it changed the British TV industry and down abby the show. Was this wakeup call I think for people in the UK okay that people would from other parts of the world would watch when these costume dramas it was kind of a revival of the costume drama and also had a finance the shows so that they could me distributed around the world and so the piece argues that you know everything from peaky blinders to howards end to all of the things that we now consume and treat as part of the television firmament at least the latest generation of them are a result of Downton Abbey success right that show relaunch yeah Adia so in that way. It's not that surprising to me that it did while because it was like a legitimate phenomenon and we've lived with it for a long time in maybe season six. I wasn't as great as season one but it made a lot of money in a lot of people liked watching it. It's short relief to because the two other big releases over the weekend and that it beat out were ad Astra which was covered at length on this podcast last week and as a movie that I would recommend people see and Rambo last blood. Did you catch up with that Chris. I didn't see I saw ad Astra instead of Rambo because this was not playing anywhere near me. Oh that's a shame why was that I woke neighborhood for you. so neither of those films which are very male centric stallone doesn't play well in. Philly yeah that's a good point you'd think he'd be in every theatre getting but I guess partially one of the the reasons why down succeeded so well is because a lot of women saw this movie and it was the primary opportunity for women at checkout films one week after hustlers dominated the box office and sensing a trend here if you like this happens four five times a year when people are like there are movies for women as well yeah. I think that's true also float yes women see movies. Rah Rah route whatever old people really see movies and the theatres is there is nothing better to do with your time if you got a mom or Gramma Ma than to take them and see the Downton Abbey. That is just wholesome entertainment for everyone so I think that that is as important. The age is as important as the gender breakdown on this one. Let's let's just very quickly. Even though Chris has not seen the downton movie talk about what's good about the downs and movie you and I attempted to recap the film for Chris via slack last week. You feel like we did a good job. Ah Yeah I think so recognized all the names. All the actions made sense I just did they didn't really come together in a sort of visual sentence for me so that is actually a notable spoke to Michael Angler about this. It is a little bit of Downton on steroids. You know the theme music is amplified in such a way that maybe they had three hundred more brass instruments. Mintz played playing the theme song. There's a lot of drone shots of Downton Abbey. It is it is a a muscular rise version of this upstairs downstairs costume drama the film itself did strike me though I think you may have originally said this to me as just one long episode of Downton Abbey to me it was like a Christmas special sel which they do in the UK and I think it was the season two Christmas special of Downton Abbey which is when Matthew and Mary finally get together and like kissing the snow outside outside of the side of the House I would say it's on par with the Christmas special except for like to party set-pieces instead of one as you said and fancier dresses addresses and I guess there's like a first episode climax halfway through the movie and then a second episode kind of bringing everyone home. The thing is downstairs to get into some hijinks and then there's ramifications upstairs. It's crazy what happens on almost like it's upstairs downstairs I thought it was an enjoyable movie and I'm not surprised that it was successful. I'm surprised it was successful. It was also the biggest movie in the history of focus features which just fascinating I have spoken to some people who worked worked on this movie and they have when they acquired the rights to release this movie. They said we have our IP. We have our version of superhero movie and focus features. That's what I was. GonNa say really leans into that older audience that you're talking about the identify women as their audience much more clearly and this is a part of the same strategy so I wouldn't say necessarily the Ad Astra had this problem but I do think that it is near impossible to sell anything anymore without some pre existing kind of awareness of what you're getting when you walk into it just because there's so many options for people that if you just sorta like here's a movie about butlers and rich people story. Michelle dockery people are going to be like I don't know but if it's something that they have this decade long relationship leashes ship with if they have the kind of extra screen relationship that they have they cared about and if there is like I was I was watching a lot of linear television this week because I was with my mom. We were watching the Ken Burns documentary. There was down Abbey stuff sandwich. Every episode of the Ken Burns Documentary Music talking to the country music to let you know it's coming out. Here's the history of the show. Here's a recap of everything that happened. Here's the making of the show like they actually did their push. It just just happened on public television. We didn't see it as much necessarily as like Robert Downey junior driving around in an Audi with a Samsung phone pushing vendors do you think that this is now now a sort of MCI -ation of Downton or is this just a one off thing that they struck gold on this one movie or is there going to be another one have been teasing the sequel for weeks. Now that's yeah yeah they've been talking about how the possibilities open and I think you know which is code for. Yes it will happen and they certainly leave the door open in the movie. Everyone is in in a happy place but more hijinks cannon sue and I'm sure well a Dan. I'm curious how far you can probably only take down into world war. Two 'cause post World War. Two I think all of those states just for their museums museums the economy economy of the upper class in the UK just breaks down and it's just not how upstairs downstairs doesn't really apply as much anymore the film kind of glances at the end to the how much longer can this go on which I thought was an interesting potential way to seal office equal in the end zone dunkirk what we'll talk about this more. Maggie Smith is in this movie Maggie Smith Chris do modify spoil Israel okay. I guess if you are really really strict about spoilers. Turn it off now. Even but Maggie Smith gives a speech that's kind of like a farewell speech but notably nothing actually conclusively happens to whether Maggie Smith math will be in future episodes of down nappy. TV show or something happens to her but then they're like. We'll see what happens yeah she could've done urge becomes iron man. It's incredible credibly. She defeats the end of the movie. It's wild. It's nineteen twenty seven in this movie that's right. They've got like twenty more years. Yeah okay. What's interesting to me about. This is is the movies in theaters. It's an extension of a television show there have been there's been the super sizing of TV shows into movie form a lot over the last year. This isn't the first first time it's happened. In the ninety. s we saw the kind of like met a rift commentary on things by having. Beverly hillbillies movies and Brady Bunch movies now what we have is just a more clear extension of the stories that originally told there was a dead movie earlier. This year was a between two ferns movie also released over the weekend which is not quite the same serialized television but is in the same tradition in a way away and then in October. We have a breaking bad movie called El Camino Dave Dina do this for a long time. They've been dying to get this kind of multiplatform storytelling going because of the amount of money there is if you can actually do what they wanted to do with dark tower where you can tell something that has has a feature presentation that maybe is the sort of the danger of the story but like you have other storylines going on TV and that you could actually create a like twelve month a year sport out of your story. That's why they want you know and now there are different things now.

"Yes, that's the fucking makeshift bow and arrow is awesome. There's also a weird thing where like this huge stone column falls Rambo, this is great. This is where there's some hulking out fucking vein, penis, shit going because he's like, crushed by this thing, and there's all these like onlookers that are like, well, that guy's dead. Yeah, and it just rambling. Oh God, this columns Evie and he's really struggling with it. And then out of nowhere, he throws it like forty feet. He hooks out his arms and it just he gets enough strength to throw it forty feet. Yeah, things in the blood as like I'm cutting. But then we cut to Rambo's team who the woman is like a master of disguise. Yes, we'll we're told that uncle Phil is a mechanical genius, and this other woman is indeed a master of disguise says, so she's going to figure out what's she's dresses turtle like Tena Carpi. What does the Tom Cruise thing a lot, the emission impossible, the glut of. Facing. I could've used more of her in this saved to dig into the rest of the series to see these special abilities really Asian. Always the Rambo show. I feel like everyone's like waiting around, whereas Rams the silent Rambo show until you hear like. Oh, geez, it's me and sometimes she wears a mask. I'm gonna. Do. It there because they show a scene in the opening credits where they're talking about Dr Phil or uncle Phil or whatever. The fuck. Yeah, where insert Dr. Phil, where it's just a race car. I was like, he's kick a race car. Talking race. Oh man, this tunes Elkin. See, let me get this straight. You're side kick is a talkin racecar and you think that's normal Dr. Phil Rambo, when was the last time you talked to your father to get me started? I my father that when we talking about my wife and you're okay, impregnating that girl. Oh yeah, even know she's wearing all sorts of faces who she is. So this master of disguise goes undercover as a granny as grumbling, garbage in the South Bronx like it did in nineteen eighty six. Nothing funny about that. Chris, Kevin, not a joke. It's surprising. She didn't get stuck. Oh, man..
