"Will forever be the guy that traded away in one of our best players in franchise history. They've got a lot of GMs that have traded away. Great players. You know, bottle trades away O Reilly, and he might not be one of the greats in franchise history. But you've got Dwight Hash chick You've got right. Darcy trades away. Brian Campbell. Darcy didn't write didn't resign. Briere nor Drury. You know, like you. You've got a lot of players in the history of the French. Michael Peca was traded, right? Mm hmm. It's a It's a thing. One thing that I would say and this is something I think to always look for what message stays despite people changing And that came out yesterday to which is something Ralph Krueger said. An awful lot that Adams said again yesterday so important that we have open communication we have. We have great communication. We don't have great communication here. He went on to talk about it again, which means I mean, I think it's a pretty safe bet that comes from ownership. Owners to the owners. Communication is a very important word. Yes, right. Very important word between the GM and the coach between those guys and ownership, the GM and the coach and the players, Right. Hey, Dan. Bosma. Go have a you know. Was it plasma who, Murray said needs to be in the locker room having a cup of coffee with the players every now and then. Yeah. I think that is a buzzword in the for the coach or how whatever it looks like they are. They want to be seen as an organization where everybody's on the same page and Lockstep or synergy or a lot of different ways to say it, But I mean Ralph when they would be losing four games in a row. You talk about how everybody's buying in the communication is tremendous. Okay, thanks. You know, okay. Yeah, well, the results weren't showing on the ice. So you can course doesn't miss the whole point You could buy in. You could like a guy. I mean, it sounds like a number of the guys liked Ralph Krueger personally, but it was a disaster in terms of a coaching situation, so likability and all that stuff buying in goes out the window if you're not actually producing on the ice, but they bought into Granado from what Kevyn Adams said yesterday. So they have that going forward, I guess. It's a Friday morning. We have some other stuff to get to as well. But of course, we opened up the Sabres Zoom call yesterday. Paul is going to join us at seven. Talk a little bit more about that. We'll get in on the There's not much really new to report. About Jack Eichel, but we'll talk a little bit about that as well. We'll talk NHL draft on the show. Today We are three weeks away from the NHL draft round one of the NHL draft. Ryan Wagman will join us from McCain's hockey at 8 30. And, uh, let's see what else I don't know. We'll come up with other stuff. Over the course of the day we have win cash coats. "Why was Ralph Krueger paid so a lot of money? Right? Three. Right. Look at what did collapse. Gerard Gallant got less than Kruger, didn't he to go to the Rangers and Rod Brenda Moore signed on to be the coach of the Hurricanes. It's 600,000 before his extension. Now he's 1.6. Is that all he got? Yeah. Britain to remember what Gerard Longuet from the Rangers. What Kerger was making 375 issue something like rivers making nearly for $4. Why did they give him so much? That's a great question, Jeremy. Every time I see the coaches salaries, like the top coaches he's getting with like the top coach or God. What the top coaches in the league are getting according to kept friendly Gallons getting $3.5 million and they list Rod. Well, they have Rod Burnham or is unknown, but I thought it was something like $1.8 Million or something. That's like ridiculous numbers. Pennies on the dollar. Yeah, right. Krueger was me. That's right. That was weird. And Kruger had not accomplished anything. Why was he getting so much? And it's not like you were. He was leveraging you in a bidding war with other teams to hire him. As coach, right, right? Yeah, I did. I don't. I didn't really think about it in season when there was talk that well, if they fire him there on the hook for X amount of dollars is never a conversation that should be taken seriously for a franchise that says little spare. No expense, You know, like before, is not never should never matter. I did not hear anybody. Montreal talk about how they got to play Pay Claude Julien. But on top of that is these other coaches are not getting a lot of money. Why did Kruger gets so much? No idea. I mean, the Brenda more thing. I mean, that's still low anyway, although the way it was going out was portrayed that Brenda more. It's almost like he was willing to take a little like coaches around the league. We're getting on Brenda more supposedly right. Elliott Friedman was talking about this. They knew Brenda more was going to come in way under market value, and they were angry because you know you want salaries to keep going up. And if a guy is going to get a big extension and bumps every right all the salaries up, so coaches were angry at Brenda more because they could see what was happening. And I thought he also might have taken a little bit less so his assistance would be taken care of, like, Wasn't that one of the holdups in the extension? He wanted the strength coach and the video coach. Everybody to be taken care of. So we got that too. But 16. Yeah, you know, for a guy with what he did, and as I said, How does how does Gerard Gallant, who has been in the league has one in multiple stops, took a team and expansion team to a Stanley Cup final, where they lost make less money from the Rangers. Big market team Deep pocket owner Then I then Kruger got. Yeah, I don't I crazy. I don't know why they pay them that much money to coach this do you guys want to know the top salary coaches according to cap friendly from what they know who's, uh, I mean, didn't Babcock get like 10 million or what did he get what he wanted? I'm talking current coach. Yeah, No, I know. I'm just for contextually. They do have a coach history. To have a coach History page, but either way 56 million for the top coaches, Maybe according to Cap friendly. The highest paid head coach right now in the NHL is Joel Quenneville at $5.25 million for the next three years after that, Todd McClellan making $5 million from the Kings per year. Elaine Videos making $5 million from the Flyers per year. Peter Laviolette $4.9 million per year from the capital. It's crazy. Yeah, I mean, I mean, and another coach, That's great is Barry Trotz. He's only making four. Kruger was Kruger is making the same money as trots. Yeah, it's crazy. Uh, You know, I don't have an explanation for you other than they, you know, they were really enamored with the guy and they thought, Let's do something nice. Let's give him $4 million a year. I I have no explanation for that. It's really puzzling. Uh, so nice job on the email. They're very good. 80305 50 to join us 8885 52 5 50 With its see where we're at Code word, Yes. "But the fact that we can now see this is a little bit Clearer. Um I think the picture is clear. Table three or 5 50. No, I think anything. It absolutely is clear and I'll be interested to see how the how the players react. I mean, listening to Josh l on the other day again. He didn't say they're not going to whatever he said. They're talking about it. They is. Players are working through it. He? He's never once said that he won't get vaccinated even when he was talking a couple months or so ago. He did say, wouldn't he kind of said he hadn't really thought about it. And it's everybody's personal decision. But he didn't say I'm not going to get vaccinated. He just said I haven't thought about it. I haven't decided. Well, Albert Breer said, Um, he tweeted that Commissioner Roger Goodell said 30 of 32 teams have a better than 90% rate among Tier one and tear to personnel. And the other two are over 85%. Now that includes more than just players. That's people that are around players. So you know a little context there, too. You know I the the issues an issue because it matters for how these these billion dollar organizations are going to operate. And you know, the league went through a lot last year to make sure everything happened from testing and all that, and everybody got mad at the Titans for a while, and we had games played on a Wednesday. Someone tried. Someone told me that the Steelers game was five o'clock on a Monday. And is that right? I don't even know why I like you could tell me the bills play the game on a Wednesday or Tuesday or Thursday. I wanna remember like the league had to move everything move, having unearth to get the games in. And I would bet that this year they're very much saying, like, Come on, We're all going to get on the same page. Here is best weekend. Um, So, um, that's that's where it stands right now, And I think the league, of course, is very invested. Let's connect with our fans. We got a phone call on a question for you, Paul. Yeah. Toby in Buffalo. You're on wdr. Go ahead, Toby. All due the favorite soccer coach based on how well he could work with Jack or how he could make Jack happy, and is that the right way to pick a coach? No, they don't. And, you know, I think Kevin Adams has a pretty good idea of Jack Eichel is going to be around here or not. Um, that's the decision he makes before the coaching decision, right, Right, right. He's talked to him. He's talked to his agent. He knows how Jack feels, Um, quite honestly. Even if the injury thing we're not an issue. I think Jack might still want to be the person that doesn't want to be around anymore. He wants to be in the playoffs. He's said that I don't blame him. On and you know, he just may. Look at the organization say, Where is this headed? I mean, is this whole? I also want to be in the playoffs is Yeah. Is this organization going to be able to be in the playoffs in the next two or three years? Is, he said, he said in his interview. He's got a lot to think about A Zafar is moving forward. But no, the coach isn't going to be decided on because of what Jack Eichel wants. Now the coach might be decided on based on What they decide to do with Jack Eichel, right? If they if they keep Jack and make a couple moves and decide this team's got to get the playoffs right away, then maybe Kevin Adams goes with Bruce Boudreau. And if they trade Jack and get a bunch of young guys, and they're turning things over to the next era, well, then maybe they think Don Granados the right guy for a young group, so I think the decisions are intertwined, but it's not. You know, One is the other. Just cause Jack wants to go doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen. I mean, I don't think our Jack wants to be traded. We'll just take the best trade, you know, and I keep going back to the O'Reilly thing. Where the sabers Botterill wanted Thomas. The Blue said. He's off the table. We're not doing it and natural should hang up the phone. And said, Okay, we're not doing the trade. I mean, you're you're getting Ryan O'Reilly. We need Thomas. Your top prospect. We're not going to settle for your second best prospect of your third best prospect. Um, And so, you know, I think the phone should have been hung up right there. And that's what I think the sabers have to do. I don't think just because if Jack decides he wants to go, you just do a deal. We gotta take the best deal here because we gotta let him go in. The other question is, you know, and I've brought this up on the show before. A lot of people on Twitter asked me. Did Jack do this on purpose to make himself untradeable for one year? So he could play one more year with sabers. Reestablish himself and that is no right. Yeah. Then he decides. His agent has done it before. I don't know the player, but he did it with the Rangers so that it would not be the first time his agent, not this. But he would get one more year in and then on July 1st of next year, his no movement would kick in, and then he would have to say where he goes. Huh? So that's the thinking. Some people are thinking that with Ryan are to take your qualifying offer they do you know where wherever you want for free after next year, right? The difference is, if they disabled think that right now it's going to do that. They can make the move and say, Well, you're going here for that year. Instead, they have the but you're smart. If they don't first of all, it's value would never be higher than it is right now. And if you've offered him a long term deal, and he just absolutely has no interest in it whatsoever, you know where that's headed, and you've got to cut it off before it gets there. Was getting connected with our fans brought to you by bond, Panic and King, a full service buffalo law firm regarding, um you know, Michael liking the coach, You know, I think sometimes reputations you know, it's the kind of thing you never get a chance of a second chance to make a first impression. Wasn't it like a deodorant tagline at some point? Yeah, you know, I call did not like Biles, Ma. And we all knew it. But when Phil Housley got fired, I mean, I remember distinctly Eichel pushing back on the second. I can hear him saying it. It's not on Phil. He said it with that tone. When you know people would ask about housing getting fired and here when Ralph Krueger got fired, Michael, in his postgame said he wants to maintain a relationship with Ralph for the rest of his life. So Not like Jack Eichel's just, you know, sniping off coaches one by one. He didn't like miles. And since then, like You know, he's kind of got a reputation is someone that they he must like the coach, which I'm not so sure. And, you know, what do you think that I don't think he much cared for Phil either, But you're right. He did support him publicly. Um, he liked Ralph Krueger a lot and But I think he's smart enough to know too, that what Ralph Krueger was selling wasn't working. And that's what I call say He wants to have a relationship of friends of friends relationship with Ralph Krueger forever because he's a fine human being. That doesn't mean he's a great coach. That means you know, they hit it off as human beings and they want to continue. That relationship is human beings. But that doesn't mean that e mean I don't see how You could. Especially if you were playing for Ralph Krueger. He could have thought he was a great coach. Right, And, you know, sometimes that is that is tough. It's It's one of the things about the business that can be tough is if you're a GM, and you hired a coach, I mean, you know, I think back to Lindy and Darcy, right, of course, close forever work together forever. There's gonna be a day where you've got to fire that guy. And Robbie, not an easy day. It's probably not an easy time you if players, uh, you know, it's it's players always believing in their teammate, even though that teammate might not be the best player that position, you know, you get personal relationships inside the locker room and from inside the sport. Remember we were in February. Botched roll and how's he was the coach and we're in Tampa and I asked you to Ben A. While. It's time for Botterill speaking, I asked if he could be made available..

Kevin Adams Ryan O'Reilly Jack Eichel Jack Phil Housley Ralph Krueger Albert Breer Bruce Boudreau 30 Don Granados Thomas Paul Michael Toby Lindy Ben A. Tampa Thursday February Phil

"As motivation to see author of That story. Bill Bella track Yeah, right now Ghost written I think I think there's not a big assed far as I know that's the difference between five and four is one so I don't think that's disrespected. You get the second highest possible total of night games you could get on the NFL schedule and again. You might get 1/5. They could flex a game right? They could flex a game into Sunday night. I keep forgetting to check whether this is the Monday night is in the flexing of Monday night is in effect now, Or is it 2023? They could move there Carolina game to Saturday night, December 18th, and you'd have five Primetime games. Or more, if you if you flex stuff Don't worry about it. Saw Darren Dreger tweet sake. Tweets Gonna Make me Mm. It's fine. Everything's fine. Nothing's fine. They tried to turn Michael yet. No. But Taylor home on the Bruins are talking are going to talk extension he's doing. He's done very well. There. He has done well there and You know, you'll see every once in a while, like we'll get back to football, but quit hockey. You'll see the occasional sabers fan think that that is Taylor Hall's fault. I just urge you I ask you all Excuse me is the 17 million good player doing well elsewhere. A sign that every player here doesn't try. No. Taylor Hall was good. Well, who's here? Taylor Hall did try. He took a slap shot to the face did and came back. It's based on a last place team. Then when they change coaches, they sat him. So why didn't he score more goals? Maybe we would have seen without Ralph Krueger. He would've scored more goals, too. And when he went to Boston what a lot of people say Oh, he's probably really good because he's really good. He's actually generating a lot of offensive chances. He's had some bad luck and West team he's playing on this entire career and what has happened. He's scoring. Wasn't it like 889 goals or something like that? Who's surprised nobody be surprised, right? And it's another example of Oh, yeah. Hey, buffalo. Why don't you give us that amazing player who really needs a change of scenery? I mean these teams Teams. They're just lining up to take advantage of the sabers on the cycle deal. I could just just You know the point about no movement clause. The sabers did not have to trade him. The only place he was willing to go. They could about hall now. Yeah, it could have just decided We're not gonna do it. I mean, I'm not saying they should have. They got a second round pick out of it. That's fine. But No, no, We're not going to trade you. The only place you want to go. We'll just we'll be stubborn. It's funny how it is funny How you think about that now, It's just, you know, it just popped into my head since you brought up. Essentially, Taylor Hall told them he wanted to go to Boston. And the sabers accommodated him on which I think is actually which, I think is a good thing that I think the Super's did the right thing there, But it's funny wasn't in the best interest of the organization to do that. Probably I don't know. I don't know what the other offers were. Well, but again, I'm getting to the thing with Michael is all about Doing? What's in the best interest of the organization. Right rehab. Conservative 12 Best interested, Okay? Was his tailor housing. I want to go to Boston. OK, we'll send you to Boston. The best thing I don't know. It probably was, But maybe what if it wasn't when one of their like Taylor will do you a solid You wanna go to Boston? Cheryl will go to see. I mean, I doubt it would have made a big difference in the return. But in but in the truest sense of the term, best interest of the organization you worry about where you want to trade Taylor home. You don't say. All right. We'll send you the boss. But if he won't accept that, if there's no movie, sure you can try and call his bluff. You could try and push him a little harder. You could You know, See how that goes. I mean, this is where G M's and agents relationships. You know you're playing a poker game to some degree, so you don't have to do it. I don't have a problem that they did that. I don't think it's seriously altered. The return of the cycle, of course, is very different because he's not expiring Contract, but The thing I have a problem with just I don't agree with sabers fans that are just going to decide to get on another elite level player and blame that player for failures here. He played for a coach who couldn't put together an offensive system on any level for this team. Taylor Hall is a fast skater, a transition player, and the sabers did not play a transition game. It's the biggest change between Kruger in Granada was changing to a transition game. And now what's happening? He's scoring goals with Boston. Shocker. Well, no one should be shocked. No, because again, you know, I know they what they made the playoffs one year in Jersey, right? It was M V p year. He would have made the playoffs. They think it least one year when he was an Edmonton but this is clearly the best team has been on the Bruins compared to the Devils of the Oilers or You know the gazillion places he's been here? Of course, he's 29 prized. He's talented. He is me and you see how long.

"Three sports talk Saturday coming your way right now, making a recording Griswald hanging out with you all morning and into the afternoon. I'm going back to the Western Hotline for my final guest of the afternoon. It's Pete Jensen. He's a senior. Fantasy editor over at NHL Network Pete First time, Long time. Just kidding. It's been a long time. No man, it's good. Oh, it's good to have young. Um, Unfortunately, I wish it was under more positive circumstances. But we'll talk about the rest of the league and the playoffs that are about to get underway here. But yeah, I'm at first were gonna rip offs and scabs and talk about the sabers. Yeah. I mean, it's tough because you see what went on in the division outside of Buffalo, right? You saw like the Rangers have a really good season, missed the playoffs because they drew the tough straw and played in a division with Couple other jug or not, So even like with the Flyers going off the rails, Rangers were unable to make the playoffs. Nor where the sabers then the Rangers go ahead and pretty much blow up most of the organization from the leadership standpoint. With Gordon and John Davidson gone and the coach David Quinn, and then you look at Buffalo, like the expectations were also high, but it's just It's crazy like how the league has reacted to just this shortened season and things like that. But clearly, Buffalo has some issues and the biggest one is the Jack Eichel situation, which is just Such a big topic for us fantasy wise because he's a top 15 player in the league, you know, but I mean, if he's not happy there, if if they have to move on, it's just like it's an unfortunate thing for all the fans and buffalo that they couldn't Seymour out of Michael Yeah, I think maybe the worst part about it. Pete is just the continued narrative that oval trade him to the to the kings. But don't even mention by fields name don't even do it. Don't always go into the Rangers Will. You can't even talk cock. Oh, so it's like to me. How can you have these conversations around moving Jack Eichel when you can't even mention the team's top prospect, coming back and return and and what does that say to you about the state of the rest of the league and how they're viewing this Jack Eichel situation does. Guess. Does it speak to how dire the situation here in Buffalo is that even though they still have the leverage of right now, this year, this is the sabers have the most leverage right now heading into the season with the no trade clause kicking in next offseason. So does it say more about the state of the franchise? That there is still this view that even though they hold the cards in terms of financial and note movement clause that they're still being talked about is well, they're not getting anyone's top one or two prospects. I mean, what does that say about the state of this franchise and the leverage that they have in any Jack Eichel trade? Well, the state of play of the whole league right now. It's tough because you know it's during the pandemic. Luckily, they were able to play the season. But you know, a lot of these teams didn't have any fans for most of the season and Another cap is flat and their teams out there that are on the custom contention. Some that air in the playoffs that would love to add and Michael and, you know, I mentioned the Rangers obviously, like Seem like Montreal or Minnesota that are in the playoffs clearly need on elite center on the roster. But in order to do so, like you're you're strapped in terms of your cap. Constraints and stuff like that, so and then you have some top prospects. But you know these teams they're not like The sabers are not in the driver's seat, because it's kind of a falling out if they if they do have betrayed him, you know, it's not like we're these teams can they all feel well? Feel free to give up cold Caufield for? You know, like, why would they? Why would they offer them? It's gonna be the leverage is not Really in Buffalo's end. Unfortunately, so even though I kal is a proven, you know, top flight player in the league, so that's what's going to be. I'm sure like some of the conversations will be. It's gonna be really tough, you know? I think they're going to be able to get a lot back in return for a player of Michael's caliber, but It's unfortunate like this injury this year is a serious one, right if it was like a neck injury, and then you know throughout his Buffalo career, it's like coaching change after coaching change and You know you don't pin all of that on Jack Eichel, but especially, you know, the captain of the team past couple years. It's you know, it's been more and more on him, the more and more that it happens. So that's just something that follows the player. As he has You know progress in his career. Unfortunately, so the numbers speak for themselves, but there's a lot more attached to this situation clearly, and I think I mean, obviously, the same conversation is likely being had about Sam Reinhart, who's coming off of Ah. By the way, a top 10 scoring season in the league. Maybe his most consistent start to finish campaign We've seen from Sam Reinhart, and I think what it speaks to Pete is how long it can take in this league for young players to find their game and hit their ceiling, and it's what makes it so disappointing that you know, you have finally got to a point where Sam Reinhart's playing his best hockey. You have Jack Eichel, who sort of entering into that prime of his career, and now we're talking about them moving on from them before you get to actually reap the benefits off those dry Have pecs and I think you know the same conversation will eventually be had about Rasmus Darlene, who I think had a really nice turnaround under Don Coronado compared to the system he was playing in with Ralph Krueger. But you know, you look at this team and you say to yourself. It feels P Taylor wise or not far, and I was talking about this with Joe. You're done earlier here, and we talked about how There's this disconnect in the term Byeon, which has been used a lot by Kevin Adams, and by the previous coaching staff in this current one, where you have this talent and Taylor halls perfect example of this Taylor Hall scores, two goals and whatever it is 40 games here in Buffalo 35 games and he goes, he goes and scores five in the 1st 10 games when he's in Boston, I think buy in is an interesting way to basically say. I don't know. Try hard play your best game and like like, what is it about this team, But they can't get their best players or really talented players to buy into what they're trying to do on the ice and doesn't speak to him or organizational problem, Or is this strictly They didn't have the right coach. Maybe they do now and maybe that it's a simple is just the coach in the scheme. The coach is a huge part of it right. I mean, the night and day turn around when they're in the midst of that long losing streak, and they fired through there and then the way they played down the stretch was like really encouraging. And like, I mean, Ryan hard played his best hockey down the stretch for sure. And you saw middle stature step of. I mean middle stead last year's like in the H..

It's a gas call right by South Bay Disabled. I believe it's in the right lane here right at self. A breaks wide open after that, all the way to the split just a struggle getting out of the tunnel. It's they slow up. Basically. Now it is slow once again from the split over the route 24. That's what I meant to say. There's a stop and go with the start of 20 for us, of course. And then delays down past 4 95 and rein him back to the north on expressway which is really slow before granted. Have a past neponset then pretty good up towards the tunnel. Route three South all brake lights route 18 down into him with a crash by Derby Street. At least one lane has gone there over the upper end of 1 28. Now we've got the WBC news radio traffic up there. That's not fun. Either direction here on 1 28 1st off you gotta South found crash at North Avenue. Wakefield South Onside Jam back on Main Street almost back to sail on the street in Lynnfield, and we have a crash of 1 28 North found at Washington Street, Woburn that has you back to re 38 movement. That is probably going to get worse as well. Kristie Anakin, the WBC news radio traffic copter. That's been one thing after the next all day long. Well, Ruth threes in pretty good shape up through Lowell and end up in two tings for Route One is fine. But 93 North found slow going from 1 33, a past 4 95 into Methuen that was set off by an earlier crash to my king. WBC's traffic on the three much support projects by your home for sale dot com. The Subaru retailers of New England all wheel drive traffic on the three spike. Where's the worst of it? South of the city? For sure, Banyon, the North bound expressway can't catch a break. It is jammed solid. Coming up from Braintree. It's a crash. I believe left Lane just happened a North bound exactly a mile after the Furnace Brook Parkway exit. Basically, just one lane is getting by there. So a real problem here on the expressway North South found is crawling out of the tunnel down to South Bay. You're back in at a little after squad, Um, street, and it's like that most of the way down to the range re split. Route three South is pretty good coming out of Weymouth and hang him and won 28 South just slow going from room 109 and dead him down into westwards Westwood for a little while up to the north to get the latest on 93 High Above is the WBC news radio traffic copter. Well, we just arrived here at the 93 1 28 cloverleaf and I could tell you things. They're moving Well, heading up past 1 28 so little busy in the right lane Approaching the ramp to 1 28 north, so maybe stay to the left. If you're not getting off a 93 here, how about the rest of the trip? It's busy up around the Wilmington Lane drop, but no big issues heading up with the New Hampshire state line at this point. Christian back in the WBC news radio traffic copter Tough going out to the West. This is to 90 West that's backed up for a few miles to Worcester with a crash cleanup going on right at the start of 1 46 south, So you may want to think of another way to go. They're familiar delays on route to west in Concord route 62 out to the rotary, the best turnpikes off to a pretty good start in the downtown. Things were pretty normal. I'd say Stora drives backed up coming in to leverage Circle. It stays slow on the leopard up ramp. But the lower deck the Tobin Bridge, the airport. Tunnels are all good for now, my king WBC's traffic on the threes. We'll have some clearing skies as we head.

It's gonna be back to the Braintree split Well, with in no time here, South bound the expressway crawling from the tunnel all the way down to that scene. Lots to look at here. Plus the rush hour volume is picking up his well so Here we go with the expressway. Route three is clear on the South shore that lower in the one 28th wide open sores re 24 delays on the Cape. "And then complained there's too much replay right now we can criticize the league if they don't do anything about it or in the course of the off season. But let's wait and see all right? You talk about system all again. How many things do you wanna get replay? I mean, did you thinking your mind every time something like this happens? I begin. The list of things that could be reviewable. And I never thought that there could be a hand pass. That would be missed that glaringly that we would have to review it so things begin to pile up. You can't think of every single thing. So I think. System. It's wrong even though it probably will correct it. I can't say that going into that game. I major concern was there may be a hand pass. That's missed so alternately. The one to blame all the officials there are two of them. It's right in front of the net. Now, I don't know whether it was Jeunet or or work that was standing behind the net. It looked like he had a clear view. But maybe he was blocked by Bennington maybe was blocked by by a body, but it's just amazing to me that guys that are paid to see that didn't see it. So alternately. If you're gonna blame anybody a blame the, the officials if the officials are better, this is not a problem. Okay. We still wanna put replayed a backup. The mistake ultimately, there was made by the officials in the first place. So if you want to blame anybody that's the way you gotta blame David Hynes has how successful do you think Ralph Krueger will be in buffalo at seems decent in the one season with the Oilers before they fired him over Skype? I still think he could have had more success. With Evanston than with that. Dallas, Eakins had, we will never find out and that's why he was the head coach replaced by Dallas, Eakins. Listen, it's hard to really criticize anybody who's been the head coaching Edmonton because when is it ever worked, right? I mean, everybody that seems to have coached there over the last twenty years, or I shouldn't say, twenty years, obviously mctavish did a good job getting them to the Stanley Cup final in two thousand and six but since then who's done a good job. So I can't really criticize him for anything that he didn't Edmonson or what anybody is done in Edmonton. But if I was to be critical of the hiring is does he have a lot of NHL experience? And most of the time when you see a guy that doesn't caveat of NHL experience. He's come from college, and he's younger. Now, the, you know, the Rangers higher David Quinn, he's fifty Kruger's nine years old. Or is that, that big of a deal? I don't know. And I'm not saying it's a bad higher. It's just it kinda came out of the blue and ultimately, we'll see whether it worked or not super-striker twenty nine says, if I'm a betting man. I bet all my money on the San Jose Sharks. The NHL, obviously, we'll make sure to make any calls in their favor, the onsides the offside goal that was stripped from the avalanche to the obvious illegal hand pass well on not gonna count. What happened? The avalanche game that might be serendipity. All right. But Landis Gog was off side. They actually got that one right now. The did anybody think that. Is going to be the case. When the goal was scored. But you can't you can't count the land, Scott offside he was off side. So maybe that's a break. But technically it was caught. And that's that was ended up being the right call. Why would they I'm gonna get into this conversation? I get into this conversation every day, it seems that the, the they want the San Jose Sharks to win. They want Joe Thornton win the Stanley Cup. They want the San Jose, Boston match up because that would be great for ratings and baba. Okay, fine, if they're going to rig it, okay. Then why? 'cause member, the NHL there's, there's a lot of Canadian players. There's eight Canadian franchise. Are you telling me that if they can rig it there? There hasn't been a Canadian team to win a Stanley Cup since nineteen Ninety-three that the Toronto Maple Leafs who might be pound for pound the most popular team in the league hasn't won a Stanley Cup since nineteen sixty..

"Because that was an absolute classic. And it's one of the great games that we're going to see in the postseason. I didn't want it to end. And I was hoping that, that would go a long time and we would have saw classic finish. And that's that's one thing that everybody just praise. Right. Is that an I do when I'm calling games that are in overtime? And there's a special moment. Specially in the playoffs and I say just make sure it's clean goal. That's all anybody ever asks for a clean goal in overtime, and unfortunately that did not happen. I didn't get a chance to mention this yesterday on the pod. Cast, but the Buffalo Sabres higher Ralph Krueger as their head coach. And this one kind of came out of the blue I did not know that he was on the radar. He's been primarily a European coach. He actually left the sport for awhile to coach soccer. They did have some experience in the Edmonton Oilers organization as an assistant with the Oilers. He's fifty nine years old this one. This one's a little baffling to me. There are a bunch of different directions. They can go there were some minor league coaches college coaches younger coaches. This doesn't seem to check any boxes for me doesn't have a ton of experience in the NHL. Not a former player in the NHL, although he did play internationally. He's fifty nine years old. He can't even say well they wanted to go younger. So we'll see how he relates the players Tomas Vanik had nothing. But nice things to say about Krueger, so it's not like he comes without some credentials, as far as people respecting his game. But this one kind of came out of the blue to me, and we'll say, so we, replacing Phil Housley. So now the Buffalo Sabres have their new head coach. Let's get to you. At down the Greco hashtag game as conduct. Let's hear from Troy says, given all of the crucial miss calls and last night's game is a fair to expect the NHL to at least break up this officiating crew for the rest of the playoffs or take them off the schedule for all the games this season. Of course you also had the there is an elbowing penalty as well. That could end up being a major a possible suspension that Casey brings up here with the headshot. He says the hand pass is catching all of the attention. But what about Peron's puck over the glass, which we talk about in the headshot that blade on Braun should that hit be a suspension? I think there's a very good chance that it could be. But you're right. There's a lot that was missed. And I would think that there would be major consideration the rest of the way of how much we will see those officials going forward. I mean they're, they're there because of their credentials and what they're able to do during the course of the regular season. But when you're involved in that kind of. Controversy Jeunet and O'Rourke. I would think would not work the Western Conference final anymore and probably wouldn't work anymore playoffs anymore. We'll see what the league decided to do their. You gotta be proactive. Right. You can't sit on your hands. I understand you can't change the rules in midstream, a lot of these things will get fixed or in the course of the off season. But officials make mistakes the way that they did certainly either. They have to be broken up or just not used at all Tim peel was the backup official for the game. I think he's one of the best in the game. I'm wondering if he had been on the ice for that, whether that would have been missed forever t h says of the sharks won the Stanley Cup hockey fans, give them love or just say the reps helped them out to win the Cup..

Kevin Weekes former NATO joining us for a few more moments towards the. Addenda amazing job Saturday. Kevin. I saw you tweet that when it comes to coaching vacancies patch of wash should get a look break that down. What makes him such an effective coach? Yeah. Thanks. The big thing for Patrick wa obviously is playing experiences arguably second oh, really second to none. Only tomorrow there who best him by most wins ever in the history of the league for goalie, but Patrick is one. He's been a winner. He was the Jack Adams winner in his first year, which is coaching. The you're in the NHL is first year in Colorado has the head coach. Or what else you like about Patrick is? He went back to youth hockey. He started coaching youth talk with his son like TV bantam. I'm talking like driving up and down in a minivan and coaching and before going to coach a major junior in Quebec with in Quebec City with the Quebec rampart and then coming on to coach the avalanche. I thought he was greatness first year. I think a lot of guys in that group needed some maturing to do in that second year. And consequently, he he ended up parting ways with the avalanche. But I feel his grasp on the game. Feel the fact he's innovative. He's got the passionate and he works hard. He understands in nosing lived what it means to win. Obviously at the NHL. L level with the avalanche in Montreal. But also the major junior level is Quebec he's helping develop players that are currently in the NHL not have played from Radulovich point in Dallas right now, Anthony do Claire who's in in Ottawa right now he's helped develop those players any understand today's player. He's got that jam. He's got the name recognition. I don't really think that there's any blemishes. If I'm if I'm a team, I know that he hasn't been referenced publicly, I see that we're looking at a lot of potential coaches in terms of a lot of the more notable names that people would expect. But I think that Patrick wasn't amazing candidate and another person. I think that'd be great great candidate is Ralph Krueger, he was the chairman of Southampton in the British Premier League, an English Premiership soccer. Yeah. Football but longtime coach coach in the NHL coach team Europe at the World Cup of hockey up in Toronto three years ago and lead senior up to the final against Canada. And he was he was incredible with that group, very measured. Very professional. So those are two potential coaching candidates that haven't been getting a lot of public play in terms of name recognition. But on the basis of the ability to do the job and their quality of people. I think that they're being highly under looked if anything right now, let alone overlooked or being under looked right now. Kevin Weekes gas. Remember, you can watch Kevin NHL networks NHL tonight, which is airing live before and after every single game of the Stanley Cup playoffs and NHL network analyst and more than fourteen years in professional hockey.
