"Hey, Dave. How you doing? Good to talk to you again. It's good to talk to you, too. You are busy, man. No doubt try to stay that way. You know, it was putting a lot of putting together a lot of plans for a lot of people that are getting me the readier to retire or looking to retire soon or We're at that point where they're going to retire. Yeah, So you know, the main thing is I have a plan. You gotta have that plan and in hand, so that's what I do, and that's what I'm gonna be continued to do. For the foreseeable future for a long time, because I people ask me all the time, Marty When you gonna retire in it, I'm not going to retire. I'm expanding my company. I'm opening offices in different cities around the country, as you know. And S O. I'm not have no intention or plan to retire. I love what I'm doing and enjoy what I'm doing. So why stop there? Exactly. I mean, you have to keep working so you can help other people retired exactly how they're going to retire if you were tired. Life if I'm not there exactly Aziz, you said earlier. Some signs and even tips to help you be successful in your retirement planning, and we're gonna put this and maybe a little bit of just not throughout, but version of Jeff Foxworthy. You have You're familiar with the routine He has, like, If you go to family reunions to meet dates, you might be a redneck, but we're gonna have to switch it up a little bit. And, uh, went and actually focus on retirement. Here's the first one. If you're looking for quick retirement fix, you might not be ready for retirement. Well, that that's probably the case unless you have a huge inheritance. Say you're anticipating the quick fix. You know the you know that everybody remembers Ralph Kramden and those schemes of his lawyers get rich, quick scheme. Yeah, well, you know, they get quick retirement fix really doesn't doesn't happen unless you I have a client who bought Bitcoin when Bitcoin was $3 a coin and look where it is today. With that $56,000 appointing s O. He did extremely well, obviously. But that was, you know, just some insight that he had that he or, you know, in Penny stocks, and he just, you know, put 100 bucks a week away inside, and then he invested and now he's he's He's quitting his job, and we're doing a whole bunch of financial plans for him. But there, you know, there is no quick solution. It ZMA thought Ical. Save every week. Do what you need to do, You know again, Let's not be a Ralph Kramden here and find one of these get rich quick schemes because they just you end up losing in the long run. And that's that would make matters even worse. So Let's sit down, have a conversation and and put together a plan. And as far as how we're gonna proceed, Tonto move forward. You know, Kramer had those two on Seinfeld and I loved some of his ideas, but they always got stolen. His best one to me was the cologne that smells like you've been on the beach and I I buy that in a second. You're gonna like this next one? Because you like you calling a spending plan? If you're spending without a plan, you might not be ready to retire. Well, that's that's quite true, because if you're just, you know willy nilly spending and not really having any kind of a plan in place. A budget TOC save for retirement. Yes, you might be putting away a couple $100 here and there. That's you know, it depends on how old you are. If you're if you're like my kids age and their twenties. Yeah, that's okay. You know, putting a few $100 here and there a way they don't have any kids yet. They don't have any real responsibilities yet, So that's understandable. But if you're in your fifties Or even in your sixties. You know that you should be raising some red flags. If you're thinking about retiring, and you haven't really put together a plan of any kind. We definitely need to sit down and meet. We definitely need to put together a plan for you. T see where you stand and what the what The goal is going to be long term because retirement last a long time, folks. I mean, we're living longer. We're living better quality of life and we make she have to make sure that you have the income to sustain yourself during that course of years in while you're in retirement. And the plan. The overall retirement plan for you, crafted.

"Of Ralph Kramden and telling me he's infected. They had it on the news that people are receiving these letters, and they have not been tested. What's the harm done that? What would what? What's the harm better that we forget the harm? What is the benefit? Why would I do it? Why Mark Mark the benefit of showing there's more co bid is that Is that all of the fear mongers like CNN and all these other people get their way. That's why they want to keep the country closed. They want to keep things shut down. They want people to choke. They want people to be miserable. I shows a revolt against the government. Yeah, I'm not going into deep. Say you know what Mark? You even said this yourself that they want to make this look worse than it is for election. And now you're saying that's not true. I don't think the governor is telling people I don't even when they don't. I don't think the governor is either. I didn't say that. I don't think the governor know you personally. Yeah, And I don't think any I don't think any what is purposely, I think they are purposely with in play, inflating the numbers. Yes, I do. But but I don't think by making up tests. No, I just think that they're assigning Cove it almost anything that looks like it might be Cove. It And and I don't think they do a lot of tests. Now that we know we know that for sure that they've been doing that all over the country, but no, I don't think they're going to give you. Um uh, say you took the test when you didn't that part. And and even though I worried about for this series. I'll be damned if I'm not worried about you James harden, Chris Paul in the crew come into the house you play like that. You gotta love the Ralph kramden MIR bag shells from the honeymooners there along the way. Well, it's still three two series. They still get an opportunity to wrap it up in game. Six in LA, all this winning and all this on even play of late Nick for Dell has a correlation. He was on the jump. They're more vulnerable than they've been in this year stretch to me home because they are emotionally exhausted. After all these wins and all these titles in the drama that has surrounded this whole season. It's not to say that they still can't turn it on enroll pass the clippers and get to the finals and winning again. I believe they will this team is exhausted though. And it's not a physical played a lot of minutes. It's up top in their brains. This is worn on everybody. And the fact that they're now going to game six against the clippers is another reminder. But I'd I'd remind everybody this this team all season has been at its best. When their backs are against the wall. How about this one? The rockets traveling to the bay area later on today, even though the clipper season series is not over as their tipping next round matchup with the two time defending champs night in baseball clued. "That's going to change. And it's not gonna change this bullshit. Like you. We have to show our children what it is to be a man, we have to show them that nasty Lindsay isn't just thing on her freaking chest acting like we have every fucking the answer. We gotta shown shit is real we have emotions that the masculine and feminine is inside of each of us. And so for me with social media for me with what I do is is somebody who's using it. I'm very engaged with what my kids participate in what they see. And I feel like the more. I'm around my kids. I don't need to check their cell phones because I'm with them so much right? And and you know, you know, what they're doing. And you know, where they are. And that's something that's very very very important to me as a father, you know, in this day and age with technology with social media. I think it's a beautiful thing, man. Yeah. Well, said and part of what you said they're showing is exactly what I was alluding to about the portrayal of Dan's. We're still kind of being viewed like that old school Ralph kramden character who just brings home the bacon. He can't figure out how to change diapers or anything and. That's not who we are as fathers, you know. But we're not babysitters. We're fathers is kinda how I like the freemen on the show here. But let me ask you about discipline because as the CEO of his successful company. I know that requires a ton of discipline of and how are you when it comes to disciplining your children? I'm old school, man. I I know it sounds funny. In fact, cutting funny story a little a little bit ago. I was in the store in my little guy was he was almost ten years old. He was he was just being a little shit. Right. I mean, my kids are little system like everybody else. They they're not perfect. Just because the dad is is there like some radically different kidding. You know, I reached overnight and I grabbed him by the ear, and I like pulled him in and we got no snows. And I'm like, listen, we had this little chair. And there was this. This this lady was standing there the game the dirtiest look, you know. And and and and to me, it's just boggles my mind, how far we've gone to this idea that children should just be able to like run. I mean there there are responsibility. Right. You hear these little CD's little kids throwing temper tantrums at the store so for me. It's like look, man. Like there's a time for discipline. There's a time for love and make no mistake like kids need discipline. They need to know what it's like to feel pain. They need to know what it's like. To feel happiness. They need to know what it's like to win. They need to know what it's like to get their ass kicked on the football field, and we create this you Ford situation where they're never disciplined. They don't know the difference right wrong. They don't know the difference of winning losing. They don't know ever seen pain. And pleasure. They're gonna grow up. I mean, they're going to be fucked completely fucking their life down the road. I mean, they have no ability to to solve problems and one of the things that I'm very very very passionate about is is allowing my children, but helping them find independence and that solving problems. Like when my kids come up to me and the dad's so and so said this or so and so said that my my my little response every single time to them is solve the problem. And I don't get involved in that stuff. I don't get involved in the spa in the fights in the business. I'm like solve the problem..

And I said, nobody my Rice Krispies is that really empty that better not be empty. You guys ate all my rice. Crispy, I said, don't eat those rights. Didn't even have one. Oh, did you look at ROY? Look. Rice Krispies. You guys aim, I Rice Krispies. Believable, asked a security guard. I honestly didn't have any of them. You know what happens? I'm just going to say this every time Allison leaves minutes after she leaves. ROY goes there and he snacks over there and then you starts eating her food. He does so ROY. You're the Cobra I eat you, right? So upset, crispy, ROY things. Every food in this studio is communal. I can't believe you guys eight. I had one of those Rice Krispies and I left it there. And then what are you blabbermouth said, oh, what do you have Rice Krispies? And they're now they're going to eat the Rice Krispies because it had a secret stash their, you ate all my rice, crispy. This is unbelievable. You can't even keep secrets. Well, nice, secret stash. It was a secret, but one of them side, the blabbermouth told the whole riveting. Clearly it wasn't a secret was on open than had six in it, and now it's empty because there's a blabbermouth amongst us, Bruce. Call Disney global security like Stu gods, Olen sandwich. I wish you could have varied that that was so fun does my favorite. That's one of the few things that we aren't able to hear that. I really wish because I have a show secret am I allowed to tell this show secret? Am I into deep day you mind? If I say the show secret, say, can even hear me. I don't think you can hear me. He took his headphones off. Hold on a second. He's walking back to the microphone. Dan Le Batard put down his coffee. He's sitting on my chair. Really? You're the first one to use the word blabbermouth since Ralph kramden and the honeymooners. I know I did that. Yeah, I guess so the stugatz call to global security that we didn't air is not one of the only things that we've recorded that we could near. We in the height of what was her name. The none that's got was always gene. Sisters got in contact with sister. Jeanne had a call with sister gene, and we couldn't air it. I was, but just know that he talked to sister Jean for like a nice twenty minutes as bad as I've ever felt all my guy, it was the worst. It was the worst profanity laced interview that's way. Billy was your experience like in New Jersey with Lorenzo man? Lorenzo's something. He's so nice. He means well, but he's he's so much..

"There were times on a street in Memphis, for example, it was clear to me that that car caused more than all of the houses on one side of that street and then watch people sad, never seen a car like this. I've never touched a car like this again, wasn't the America. I thought we were living in like I thought we were living in. I remember when the plaza hotel here went up for some sort of privatization. And I remember thinking, wow, that. That was a place that Ralph kramden kind of working man in New York knew that if you really saved up and he really did well at the bus company once a year, you know, he could bring the wife there and be the man for the night. You know, or I remember when Yankee Stadium when I saw the ticket price guy rocket because all these stadiums get named after corporate monsters. Now, you know the MCI this or the the AT and t. that that now the ticket prices, they've knocked down wants to put up another one and they make the ticket price. So a father and son can't do the game anymore. You know, when all those changes started to happen, I don't think I quite did the math on how wide spread it's become. I've been in forty five states in the last few years, and I've seen them in all levels and it's a staggering gap. And the car really brought that out and then brought of course people into this beautiful space that had to do with Elvis in this beautiful. Face of nostalgia, and occasionally they would understand this is a weird car because you could have done a Cadillac or something. But this one feels like the king of England. This one feels like something else, and I was really, as there was a loss boy king in this car in on aid, he died in this car. You know, he looked out the window and saw he. I think he was always trying to get back to blow in the car, kept gone the wrong way. One moment that really moved me that was sort of a metaphor for the of lost American away was this little audio clip of Elvis, the possibly lows to market lost to waiting for us, yes. Okay. Hiding this little voice of Elvis saying if I could something like if I could find a wife and a baby, I would never leave that house on a, you know that that that little voice over in the film. I kept removing from the film and then putting it back for time because things movie can only be so long, and it's already on the edge of that. So every time I would take it out, man would find its way back because it was something about that in knock use, little fiber in the grand tapestry that gave you that again, reminder. What would any of us do had we been presented with these deductions? It's so easy to judge Elvis in hindsight, but I don't know what I would do with all that place before me all that power, all that money, all that sexuality, all that opportunity loneliness, those little clips were so beautiful. They really add it such texture and such heart to who this guy was. He was. So he's so huge, but yet sensitive small guy too. Yes. You know, I mean that there's always two answers to that question. You know, I'm a mutt my life is one answer because you these films become real sort of bookmarks of your life and you couldn't have made it at so many other mistakes and and moments not happen. So the the smug answers, longtime many, many years. But the practical answer is I started really preparing my thoughts in earnest twenty fourteen and I was going through my own midlife crisis around that time, and I discovered I was the same age. Elvis was when he died, and I had been making speeches to audiences around the country on prisons and in churches and community centers with previous film might made about the war on drugs and in audience after audience. I noticed Jean, if you're not careful, these are working people whose lives are already unrecognizable to them. They've become a cuff guy. S. Maze of mortgages and dangerous to their children and drug abuse and incarceration and and the rich getting richer and everything else come. So if you walk in there is some comfortable filmmaker from the east coast and you're going to say, oh, guess what people it's even worse than you think it's an active cruelty..
