"I think what they <Speech_Male> might be doing is measuring <Speech_Male> clicks instead of measuring <Speech_Male> actual <Speech_Male> on page impressions <Speech_Male> because their own tracking <Speech_Male> sex. <Speech_Male> But because we <Speech_Male> trang data. <Speech_Male> And because i can see <Speech_Male> that in multiple areas <Speech_Male> across <Speech_Male> multiple clients <Speech_Male> i can be confident <Speech_Male> in that assertion <Speech_Male> and if i'm proven wrong <Speech_Male> that's fine because at least <Speech_Male> i can say this is how <Speech_Male> i reached this conclusion and <Speech_Male> whatever it was you know maybe a <Speech_Male> software engineer can explain <Silence> <Advertisement> to me why. I'm an idiot <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> but <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> i think that for <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> clients that's what you <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> wanna hear. You <SpeakerChange> wanna hear the <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> confidence in your <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> agency's ability to <Speech_Male> be able to <Speech_Male> see the truth <Speech_Male> and the tracking <Speech_Male> the reporting. <SpeakerChange> That's the <Speech_Male> truth. <Speech_Male> While <Speech_Male> said well <Speech_Male> at least <Speech_Male> i mean that's never going <Speech_Male> to equal perfectly. <Speech_Male> It's never going <Speech_Male> to be perfect especially <Speech_Male> in this. This <Speech_Male> new age of <Speech_Male> of lessened <Speech_Male> visibility <Speech_Male> to say the least <Speech_Male> but the point is is like <Speech_Male> you have to have <Speech_Male> an agency <Speech_Male> that can speak to you <Speech_Male> in an educated way <Speech_Male> about it. And hopefully <Speech_Male> we've given you some <Speech_Male> pointers <Speech_Male> here on this particular <Speech_Male> section. I think <Speech_Male> we could probably go <Speech_Male> through about five or <Speech_Male> six other specific <Speech_Male> points. We might have <Speech_Male> to do a part to <Speech_Male> or on this <Speech_Male> because there is a <Speech_Male> lot to it. But <Speech_Male> i think the first <Speech_Male> section here <Speech_Male> is super important. <Speech_Male> And <Speech_Male> obviously <Speech_Male> you know if you're looking <Speech_Male> for <Speech_Male> an agency <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> you're a marketing <Speech_Male> agency or anyone for <Speech_Male> that matter who is <Speech_Male> going to help you scale <Speech_Male> and grow. I think what <Speech_Male> we've mentioned. Here are some <Speech_Male> pretty salient <Speech_Male> points. <Speech_Male> I mean <Speech_Male> we're drawing on <Speech_Male> experience from what we <Speech_Male> do right now <Speech_Male> so if you think. <Speech_Male> This is just a self serving <Silence> episode. Well <Speech_Male> maybe <Speech_Male> it is. Maybe it isn't <Speech_Male> but the point is <Speech_Male> like that's what we know <Speech_Male> and we do see it all <Speech_Male> the time at <Speech_Male> the end of the day. I mean <Speech_Male> we're really in this. You <Speech_Male> and i are in this <Speech_Male> a surly that just make <Speech_Male> gazillions of dollars. <Speech_Male> It's actually to help. <Speech_Male> Scaling grow really <Speech_Male> cool businesses. <Speech_Male> That want <Speech_Male> to do some pretty awesome <Speech_Male> things. And i think <Speech_Male> that's the big part <Speech_Male> of this and <Speech_Male> we see a <Speech_Male> lot of mistakes that are made <Speech_Male> out there. A lot of charlatans <Silence> in this space <Speech_Male> guys <Speech_Male> and beware <Speech_Male> of them so <Speech_Male> certainly go back through this <Speech_Male> episode here <Speech_Male> and check <Speech_Male> some boxes <Speech_Male> it will have more resources <Speech_Male> and probably a part <Speech_Male> to here on <Speech_Male> how to pick the ideal <Speech_Male> marketing agency <Speech_Male> between the two <Speech_Male> of us so <Speech_Male> any parting words <Speech_Male> for pt <Silence> listeners. <SpeakerChange> Qassem <Speech_Male> yeah <Speech_Male> say that you can't <Speech_Male> afford an agency. Don't <Speech_Male> do it if it's <Speech_Male> a stretch in <Silence> if you're concerned financially <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> then it's probably <SpeakerChange> premature <Speech_Male> if it's <Speech_Male> your last check <Speech_Male> that you right <Speech_Male> don't do it <Speech_Male> seriously <Speech_Male> like <Speech_Male> learn yourself. I <Speech_Male> couldn't agree more <Speech_Male> like <Speech_Male> if that isn't a non <Speech_Male> shelly <Speech_Male> thing <Speech_Male> like we've we've had <Speech_Male> many <Speech_Male> discovery <Speech_Male> calls you <Speech_Male> guys don't need us <Speech_Male> like just go. Spend <Speech_Male> like ten to twenty <Speech_Male> dollars a day and test <Speech_Male> this thing out on facebook. <Speech_Male> Take the <Speech_Male> Here i'll give you my course <Speech_Male> for free. Go figure <Speech_Male> it out for yourself <Speech_Male> then come back <Speech_Male> to me in six months. They usually <Speech_Male> never come back. Which is <Silence> which is fine. <Speech_Male> You know maybe they <Speech_Male> didn't have an offer that were <Speech_Male> converted or whatever <Speech_Male> it happens to be but <Speech_Male> the alas taller <Speech_Male> for christ's sake <Speech_Male> like figure it out on your <Speech_Male> own. Lots of training <Speech_Male> out there. We'll leave <Speech_Male> lincoln the show notes <Speech_Male> but yeah <Speech_Male> well said so <Speech_Male> for all <Speech_Male> the resources <Speech_Male> that we mentioned

"So i think that's that is so we're kinda on both sides of the equation here to a certain degree. But i think there's pros and cons on both but you as a business owner you know cmo vp of marketing. When you're making this decision. I just have to weigh both sides of the equation to a certain degree and i. I think there's value to both because we've seen it on both sides so but the point is you want to have that experience. You wanna be able to see all right. Do they have case studies. Do they have testimonials like not necessarily in my specific specific niche. Maybe if you do. Google you know montessori advertising agency or whatever it happens to be maybe you can find somebody in your specific niche and may be start there and then branch out after that. I don't discourage that point is they have to have that experience and it's not necessarily always the industry of the exact niche experience because of the you know the cross ponds ation of ideas angle. So let's get onto point number three here. And i think this is an important one for both of us is tracking and reporting on saying. It's number three because assuming it's going to be your number three but putting words in your mouth that is kind of an important one to have dialed in or would you rate that differently so this it gets really tactical and if you're not used to the digital marketing world you might hear that and go. Gosh y'all we're talking at a really high level a moment ago we we were talking about goals and direction in whatever and then all the sudden we just got really granular. And the reason for that is because mike's princeton. And i'd be interested ralph if you've had the experience when i look at failed campaigns which we do all day primary collection..

"Well going hand in hand with that. And i don't know if it's necessarily number two. And i couldn't agree more is they've got the qualifications but do they actually know what they're doing like qualifications is one thing but secondarily perpetual student. Yeah for sure. Are you a perpetual student. But actually don't implement anything so we're very much ready fire. Aim kinda company here or or we operate so we get the qualifications and we'd go do stuff and that's really where i think the third most important thing is is experience really like how do you apply those qualifications yet. You've got the badges yet. You're staying on track with everything and you're doing the continuing education. That's great you're at the tip of the spear but then as a cmo vp of marketing director of marketing. Like how do you figure out whether or not they actually have the experience in a corollary to that and a lot of companies asked. This is like do you have experienced in my industry Which is a tricky one to answer. And it's not necessarily the one that you would think. Yeah that one's non-linear. I'm going to split this apart. And then you and i might end up fighting rough. I don't know you should be able to do this. All the time on the podcast. You'll say oh. It's like this customer. It's like this client is like this campaign is like this account. When you've been doing this long enough you should be able to draw correlations from your experience in a way that becomes very organic in terms of my ability to perceive what it is. You're you've done so you can ask about experience of course but i don't like these people give you like the fifty thousand foot view all we've been doing this for fifteen years. I don't care actually might work again. I've been wages. He's been around for fifteen years. And i just realized this year i was talking to my business partner was like you know that might not work well in our favor from a brand perspective because that just means old like oh y'all just old and you do all things the old way..

"Do real organic reviews right. But what i would do and what i've done i'm shopping for right now. Is funny actually talking about this. I'm shopping for a cold email. Agency i wanna. I wanna get better at cold email. We don't do it very well. Somebody out there knows you know. Something can prove it to reach out to me but in shopping Agency one of the things. That i ask them. How do you step to date. How do you know what major changes are. We've got iowa's fifteen that's about strapped is going to change the way that e mails delivered. Who are thought leaders that you listen to. Where do you go to get educated and that should roll right off the tip of their tongue. If somebody's act. I mean our listeners are really good examples. Y'all at the tip of the spear most people don't invest in themselves this way. Most people get the job. Gets a gig. Started the company and then rest on their laurels. I think that that's a pareto driven truth. I think eighty percent of people not they know in. That's about as far as they're gonna go with. And then you get the twenty percent. They're actually willing to invest and continue education. And if somebody would ask you know regardless of what you do. Dr laura plummer. Hey how do you stay up to date. You're gonna have an answer for that. Oh man i followed. Listen to this podcast. Watch this show. I read this book. This is my favorite author. It shouldn't be a difficult conversation. I don't think it needs to be formalized but you wanna make sure that they're properly qualified and for me qualification needs education especially in this space where things are changing. I opened up google's newsfeed today and they just announced new identity attributes that are going to change the way that we i mean every frigging week. I'm shooting a video about all the updates and changes the youtube. It's difficult to point where you go to get that information. If you actually go to get that information your.

"Within thirty days within sixty days like you should like you should set the bar high but you also have to think all right. What's the realistic approach here. Specially if i trust them i do see that they have qualifications which another whole thing which we haven't discussed yet but you know it is a marriage to a certain degree provided that you do you propose to somebody who does have qualifications. Somebody who is actually good. Maybe has some experience so but the whole process is going to be a messy. And i do think as long as progress is being made and the agency is constantly iterating and moving forward and showing that progress in you as a business owner or the cmo or the vp of marketing is on board with the plan is in make sense. Based upon the data you're moving towards the right result even though it's not there yet you wanna get there as fast as possible. I get it but like that. Initial phase especially is a messy one and one. That isn't clear in isn't clean. And i don't care what kind of proposal or deck on a marketing agency put together it all changes within like thirty sixty ninety days. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. Mike tyson said so get punched a lot in the mouth and marketing. So what's the what's the second most important thing. I think we've sort of beaten that one up pretty much a number one like what would be the second thing that you would recommend people whereas they're looking for a marketing agency which they look for qualifications. There's there's a real world of education out there in. It's not like the post-secondary ecosystem where i can just come to you and be like. Oh look i have a bachelor in ads. But i can show you. Every member of my team has gone through this training. Certification france digital marketer has amazing levels of training and certification on multiple topics. That are all even if they're not related directly to paid ads they're necessary to understand the ecosystem and how you know what it is that i'm doing is going to interact with the primary goal at hand and so make sure that whoever you're working with his actually investing in themselves and the way that they do that by the way. I don't think there's a right way. It just needs to be articulated. And i mean i buy everybody's education you know. I feel like forgive me for being mild arrogant. I feel like we're told authorities. And if i'm running through scrolling through facebook and i see somebody's little dumpy youtube training course. I'm gonna snap that thing up. Because i've learned stuff you know. There's some kid in a basement. Somewhere in the middle of who knows what ohio pickle for some reason and he knows something about you to that. I don't know he figured something out that i didn't figure out. And so yeah making sure that you're properly qualified and that you maintain your continuing education is and building that into the culture. The agency i think is critically important. How does how does somebody who's shopping for marketing agency. Figure that out is it hall badges and blooms on the site. Because i know from google side. Sometimes the emblems in the badges don't necessarily equate to qualifications or competence. Like how would you like take it. Take a step back as a non agency owner. If you were trying to hire an agency for your agency like how would you figure out. Are there really good. They're qualified there at the bleeding edge. The tip of the spear all that sorta stuff ask so. I think the badges to your point.

"We are back here and we're talking marketing agencies. Google facebook you name it how to actually hire them what to look for and qasim. I think you brought a good point is your first point i would imagine is what is credibility is like making sure they're good. And maybe they're not masters of everything in a second jack-of-all-trades but master of none right. Yeah it's actually not about the agency yet. It's about you the listener customer. So you're the business owner the cmo whatever. Get clear on what you want. Because you're if you're just out there trying to hire agency that's going to be a real easy thing to do but you might say. Hey i need growth and need scale any proof of concept and he'd offer design a need and what's the interesting thing about that too is a good agency should be able to walk you through this conversation but you wanna make sure that you're not being too easily lead so there's the thing that you think you want and then there's the thing that's in front of that thing that you probably need to buy i so you know you might say like oh i just need more sales and i'm sky bless america the amount of times. I'm on a call. Somebody thinks they need more sales or they think they need more leads. Excuse me i need more leads. And then i look at their sales process. I'm like your closing one out of twenty right. You don't need more leads. You need better sales process so get really clear on what you want and then look at the things that would be necessary in order to achieve that goal and that will help you begin to shot for the right agency. Because now you know ryan deiss says something that i really love and i don't know that he coined this but he definitely popularized at my mind. He says Prescription without diagnosis malpractice. So there's it doesn't make sense to go out there and just find the random agency it's finding agency that can do the thing that you need them to do so clear on what that is..

"Is your host ralph burns and this is episode three hundred and twenty three. And i'm really excited because it's just mean qassams so low this week no gas. Nobody distract us. Nobody to argue is maybe. We'll just have to argue amongst ourselves instead. Pick a fight amongst ourselves because today's topic is something that's near and dear to both of our hearts here is. We're gonna be talking about how to pick the right marketing agency now before you say. Oh my god ralph. Let's so serving. Yeah you run to your eleven and costume run solutions eight. Will you know half of the listeners. If not more people that are actually looking to grow their business and usually do that by either doing it internally so you can certainly take a lot of the stuff here ply that to your internal team or if you've got an agency right now that's running traffic for your running your marketing or maybe you're looking for another one. I think there's going to be important points here and we will try not to be as self serving as humanly possible educational as we always are here on perpetual traffic. But you know we to reliance experience within our own agencies so having said that qasim Great to have you back. I know you on vacation last week. A well deserved vacation for us to be talking a google marketing facebook social media agency stuff today. Yeah i'm excited to be here and to the point you just made. I think that this topic is critically important for businesses on a growth path because my experiences everybody makes an. I'm no different by the way everybody makes the wrong first choice. You always universe agency always. That's just it's like it's like an entrepreneurial rite of passage and so if there's anybody out there that we can either say from making that decision or at least help. Soften the blow. Yeah i think that this is going to be where the conversation. Yeah and i'm gonna go out on a real limb here and piss off a lot of listeners but a lot of agencies really suck they really do go out on a limb there at all ralph. I feel like that's just. "Sometimes the average order value on the order bump is now that incremental average order value that you get from. The orb is the prophet for the product. Yeah yeah so. I think logic applied to the checkout process. I absolutely agree with. I think where i go off the rails a little bit with funnels and this is maybe really sticking. Point is the it's the squeeze in the initial squeezer that traffic and then my inability to see you know who that person is or where they went. Because i don't have a multi page experience or environment which i understand. You know you already told me that. Multi-paged kills the initial opt. But in the google it can be super helpful. Yeah it depends on where you're coming from. I totally blank on what you just set. But honestly we got kind of quick anyway in terms of what we're talking about. We started went full circle. So maybe if there's a way to just like learning at us out bring it back home. Yeah let's do it. I just checked that customer site. They do not have an order bump so funny so there's money left on the table right there. We'll have to figure out exactly what to do about. So that's the stuff that will look at in these deeper fun. And it's not a very deep funnel but as soon as we go into digital like webinar options. And we've got customers that are doing all that sorta stuff you know multiple video sequences to a high price offer. We talked about one a couple of weeks ago. Maybe on our youtube live but a coaching customer. That we have which is worked really well on facebook and our transferring that over to youtube same type of thing multiple step in the funnel and we just find that an interruption marketing. It's like it's it is more of a necessity than a luxury but if you do combine some of those front end video especially with a sales funnel. It's a really good combination. And then you layer in the right type of intent based advertising on top of that. Be that google that youtube which is intent and interruption sort of a combination of the two. It's a great way to scale and grow business. So i don't know who won the funnel debate here but i think it's sort of a standoff between you and i and other continuing subject of conversation because it's super interesting because at the end of the day is a sales funnel the right thing for you. Well it depends on your business. But i think there's some different definitions of exactly what a sales funnel is. And i. i've. I've enjoyed debating this one with you costume. We need a way for our listeners to chime in in like lobbed grenades at us in pick sides just go full on twitter trench warfare. We should you know this might actually be a good add on subject for youtube lives for perpetual fridays which by the way every friday over the digital marketer youtube channel eleven am eastern eight am pacific. I was one of reverse those for some reason but don't show show up at eight. am eastern. because i won't be there but qassem will be there at eight. am pacific. I'll be there at eleven. Am eastern hope to see their every friday over a perpetual fridays and yeah look forward to the interaction. That will get here. I think we should definitely do this. As a as a funnel debate funnel showdown part the part. It's all. I know about french right there. So everything that we mentioned here.

"You still need some selling in the news feed and what we refer to as an explainer video. This is a different type of video than the teaching pitch so we probably wouldn't use the teaching pitch in that particular case we will use more explainer videos. Quick short stuff but still like today have a sales funnel they kind of do to increase their average order value. There are hybrid. they sell that upfront. And then on the back end. There is two different up sells for two different products which are sort of add on to the original shelf so in that case that's an ideal customer for us because we know that we can increase average order value like doing consulting on the back end can also enhance. The sales page can also do all kinds of other video assets on the front end. That would be an ideal ecommerce customer for us to work with. Would that work on google shopping. I don't know. Can you get their attention. Could you get somebody to click to understand all that kinda like yours. Waddling babies in customer might be a little harder to do so. There is a case for and against potentially a sales funnel or modified sales fall. When you just said something to that maybe this is a semantic argument. But like you mentioned the order bumps. After the fact i never thought of ordered bumps a sales funnels and if order bumps our sales funnels than i am now prosales phone because i think every commerce on the planet should have ordered bumps. I've got a buddy Pro scott cunningham. Over at socialite. And i forgot the percentage but it was like the majority of the profitability that they were creating for these case. Study clients if his all came from order bumps so they're selling the product just to liquidate the traffic costs and the order bump is where they're making their money. So there's my question for you is an order bump a sales funnel. Well they have in their case they have ordered bumps and they have a one time offer after they actually purchased so there is an order. Bump the misspoke. There's an order bump on the actual cart itself which is little check box. Get this and actually click over to their site right now to see what the order bump is and then after they purchased then there is a one time upsell which you know through. I think it's infusion soft. Or the i forget which they actually have. They then are allowed to upsell on that one time offer for you know super specific finish or a coupon to get this certain type of armament like that kind of stuff so it is definitely a sales funnel. It's a modified one. At least it's a small funnel but then there's you know there's upsell pathways after that. There's additional products that they can purchase typically through email. So is an order. Bump part of a funnel i would say yes. It is because there's some thought to increasing average order value. At least it's one. It's one tactic that you can use. Because at the end of the day like a sales funnel is to convince as well as to enhance average order value so you can are willing to pay more for customer especially in an increased competitive world especially in the platforms that we deal with primarily and obviously google as well so is that a sales funnel. I would say it's more than just sending them to a sales page or just to a product page rather and nothing because at least you have the opportunity to enhance that average order value. And like you said..

"Click especially because of a lot of the signal loss that's occurred with the irs update so for us. Sales funnels have become far more and far more of an integral overall approach. Combine that with front end assets that we know really really work in now. You've got a really killer combination even in spite of all the stuff that's going on right now so that would be my exception to know sales funnel for an e commerce business. The only well the second exception. I suppose would be. If you've got a product that nobody else has it's the only one. And i always say well if you have the cure for cancer you really don't need a whole lot to sell it. You just need to put yourself in front of the audience. That needs your stuff. Put it in front of the starving crowds so to speak. And then they'll buy it on their own and but the real trick with most advertising that you probably don't have a product or a market that's data distinct so you need to do a lot of advertising a lot of hook research lot of video up front a lot of convincing and the news feed before they even consider buying your stuff so if you've got a great offer that no one else has great for you. You just said something that resonated ralph and extra reminded me of a client that we feel that you're talking about if you've got the only thing you've got for cancer you can put your offer not in front of a starving audience. The issue with that is convincing the audience. That you're offer will satiate hunger. We had a client who invented a new type of baby swale. And when i took this on. I was a new dad and it was amazing. It was amazing though the swallow you could change the kid's diaper while keeping swallowed swallowed. There were all these like cool little pockets in the way that it went on and went off his way easier than the swallows. We were using unbelievable. It's really brilliant product. We ran e com. Smart shopping you know inbound in the beginning died on the vine in died on the vine because the value proposition was more complex than could be understood in the fraction of a second. You could see you know a little bit of the bureau videos or some of the images so to the point that you just made. That's a product really needed a funnel and that's not a tool. It's my tool belt. And so we just didn't go in that direction. But i bet you had. She built something that really explained what it was. How it did it. You know you're talking about your client with these three five minute videos. That's what you need it. You need three to five minutes to watch this thing in play and then you're like oh that's why it's twice as much because it's ten times as good. Yeah so i think. I think that's a point. We'll take the. I want to add to that is. There's a lot of products where the product is a piece of the funnel. We've got a client who sells in industrial tape. And one tape is ten bucks and the.

"Maybe it's not you know it's the exception to the rule. Do you have any like in the digital products based businesses info based businesses. Or we all talking about like non. Dm kind of kind of folks as far as your average customer goes Well we have customers span the spectrum. I've got some some clients that build micro sites for specific offerings. And then honestly we do have some clients that have single page funnels that you know they. They convert pretty well and generally those are info products for us that we're running on google display the issue with that. Is you have to spend just an inordinate amount of money like if you're not spending twenty thirty thousand dollars a month than google. Google doesn't function the way facebook. Facebook can conversion optimized much faster. Google needs way. More data for outbound interrupt. Her and i think that's changing with google's new performance. Max which would be a whole new episode. I'm answering your question. Most of our clients have traditional websites. So most of our clients have sites with five plus pages and then our economy clients of course every product is his own page basically in the way they choose to structure that is going to change the way that it's laid out. Yeah i was at for an answer. That's good. I don't know every single one of your customers. I was just curious if one of them are two of the might actually exert crossed the line. We have actually talked about some of those in the past which is really interesting. It begets the question. Now that you bring up ecommerce should ecommerce have a funnel and if so is it necessarily the click funnels type of funnel and what would you consider like a customer of yours. It's in the ecommerce space. Forget about funnels. Take that aside. They don't need funnel. So that's why i'm anti funnel and they've just been able to succeed on their own. What are the core characteristics of those that don't need the final and then i'll kind of go into some of the examples of the ones that i know do need a funnel without it. They really wouldn't be able to operate on interruption marketing based platforms e comes interesting because our economy class aren't intent based we use something called smart shopping which talked about before. There's another episode. you can hunt down. If you have any interests we'll.

"Consider that a funnel to a certain degree. Now there's email sequences that go along with it this. The sales call there's ultimately the sale at the end of the day. Like there's going to be a lot of convincing. That's going to go on after that landing page and thank you call pre frame page and then multiple touch points after that which isn't in our funnel but it goes off line at that point because they're buying something that's six figures potentially and then obviously then we is the agency that actually do a lot of their legion. Was they become a franchise so it's actually a good good way of doing things so they come in through facebook and then we ended up helping them grow through facebook and other platforms. Point is is like that is a sales funnel in my opinion because you are off line. Interaction is still something that is extremely important now. Can we put more pages in after that and make it sort of a classic click funnels sales funnel i suppose but all we really want to do is capture their attention on ads video. That's engaging talking about business opportunities etc get them to opt in and then it's really. It's our customers good. Follow up and they have supreme. Follow up in this case because it's obviously it's a sale that they want to be going after a that's a really good example of a service based business with a very high ticket item that can be sold through interruption marketing with a mini sales funnel. Man if it were just you know lead and then nothing else you know with really no follow up. Maybe we don't get their phone number or something like that. Just the will send them. A packet will put them into an email sequence after they initially show some kind of interest. In buying the franchise it would be far less effective. It'd be a non starter. When i think that's maybe where we're i'm spoiled because i'm a gu-guy i do you know we don't focus solely on search but that's where we start and so i get in front of somebody..

"Ubiquitous truth that marketers have made them out to be like it's weird because they almost feel like oh. You can't drive traffic without a funnel and in my opinion you need an excuse to have a funnel. It's not the default. In some of this might stem from the fact that you and i just served for customers of my anticipation i i know i. I definitely fish small pond than you do. But we've got professional services local services e commerce sas and those engagements when somebody's shopping for that type of service it takes time and it takes multiple touches and it takes multiple narratives and you want them to kind of self direct in a funnel doesn't allow for that a funnel a squeeze page per se. But i think funnels used squeeze pages as part of the kind of the scaffolding. I just don't think that our customers liked to be squeezed when they're shopping for especially hiring services. So the way that i'd i'd build the fork in the road is if you have something. That's an impulse. Something that can get a quick easy optin than a funnel starts to make sense but if you have something that's i don't use the term high ticket but longer sales cycle maybe higher end product or.

"Is the best digital conference digital marketing conference on the planet and yeah pretty excited to be attending this year so but today we're going to be talking about some other stuff which is sort of on the conversion side from the traffic side. We do talk about both sides of the equation. Not that they're really any sides but we might actually pick different sides on which we are in favor of here when it comes to the conversion and of digital advertising digital marketer in that is the idea of the sales funnel should you sales funnel or should you not sales funnel and that is the subject of today's conversation between myself and casa. I feel very passionately about one side. He on the other hand hills very passionately about the other side. So we'll see how this all plays out. And i think this sort of comes from an interesting moment in time in digital marketing especially within the last ten years or so. I don't remember the exact date. But i remember when i first heard about it. It was the launch of this thing called. Click.

"Episode three hundred nineteen and joined alongside my awesome co host. Qasim ozlem virtually from. I don't know about two thousand miles away. I'm always trying to guess how far away you are. But anyway it's not that far because you're just you know you're virtually like right next to me on my screen here so i feel like you're here so you're welcome back to your show as co hosts casa moslem. Good ralph right there. You just kinda inflated my ego just a little bit to your show now that's right. Well we're gonna talk about some interesting stuff here today. i don't know. Is there anything interesting going on in your world that we should touch on before we get into our our hot debate topic here today on perpetual traffic anything. You want to give a shout out to the folks spout. Maybe something that we do on friday afternoons are friday mornings pacific time eleven. Am eastern time. Anything like that going on in our lives to not what he refer no. We do petrol fridays. Which have been a blast. I've had so much fun. We just you know. Honestly it's pretty casual and we're getting more people showing up now is great so what we really want to do. Though if you're listening to this is we won't your questions and you wanna hang out with us and get a little interactive show up. It's on the digital marketer youtube channel. Easy to find will include it in shown out and would love for you to join to attend record there. I don't know why don't you do a live. He just go live you just soon you just and there you are so yeah digital marketer youtube channel where there live every friday eleven. Am eastern adm pacific. And yeah to answer your questions whatever's on your mind from a digital marketing marketing business agency perspective life questions. You know we answer it all over there on those lives so it's a lot of fun and obviously we've been doing this show now for five six years and it's the only times i find that we really interact with perpetual traffic. Listener is when we do a survey which we did a few months back which was really cool or we go to conferences. That's always sort of a fun thing to meet. P. t. listeners and talk about what's going on in their lives but we haven't had many of those conferences recently. Although there is one that we should probably plug. That's coming up pretty darn soon that you're speaking at that is traffic and conversion summit. Some people listening to this show might have heard of it. It's pretty big this year. It's going to be half virtual half in person correct. You can go either way. You can go either way but they moved from the mariot marquee to the convention center. So i think the anticipate as being the biggest one they've ever had in i i hope they're right. I think that'll be blessed gel. Absolutely i mean. I think the last time i was at a conference was when this whole thing was just sort of breaking out of the social media marketing world and through some people..
