LOVE Magazines Editors on the Fashion Magazines New Role in Culture
"Hello. Welcome to. Live today we are talking to Ben, cobb and Pierre Lay who are co editors of? The Astonishing new issue of love magazine I hesitate to even Cooler to magazine it is volume one and volume two. of Hud covid will books basically a fashion magazine like you've ever seen before and they are a remarkable time capsule of this remarkable time, and so I'm really looking forward to talking to Bannon Pierre about how this came together. The obvious question is that this. Book these books raise because I'M NOT GONNA call magazines. What what is what is the place of a fashion magazine and this particular moment? I think the role of a fashion magazine right now. As. Bringing its community together and drawer and yet network together. To, really move forward. As a as a unified thing, I think it's about coming together with your community and all moving forward are not leaving anyone behind i. think that's the world. Today. Now as as I've worked my way through the hundreds of pages in in these books. What strikes me is that. The hierarchy that we used to in fashion of Edison fashion end said. Creative director, whatever it doesn't seem to exist in these pages I, think that what we are. Looking at. Here is something is quite a new way of approaching putting together magazine almost. I guess it's almost the way that people used to do things you know in in the high the idealistic height of the sixties or something. I, how how do you feel about bad. Yeah. Million questions also. Suddenly I, feel like it it was a great way to share without having to thirty compromise because someone was above us all below us. It was real conversation between everyone. So that's what we call the love collective because it was really about sharing. Ideas sharing concepts and sharing philosophy and bring that forward in making the issue. So when we completely Removed the key I think it's It's sending out night a good message about what people in fashion actually are in how they actually work, which is a lot of people working together because they love fashion. So. But by. Kind of restricted in the situation by the fact that. We you we everyone was in lockdown because of covid nineteen and. He you ban you make it very clear on your editors, Lhasa and Co. edited Katie Grand I'm also writes about this very, very Very. Very. Honestly that you were old ill with coded nineteen while you were making this magazine and and L. Like. Not just sort of. You know not just a came and went you will and Came into this situation as the new boy on the team. I mean. I. Never. been working with love longer than I I'm I joined in January has been. You know contrbute saying I'm parts of the family for longer. But yeah, I mean I'm sure you know let's hit from but I'm sure of very strange environment. You know a lot of. Three senior members of love who in a very, very L. were convex. I think that was. In some way you know I, don't wish on anyone on. Glad we could go through the together. It would have been very difficult. Dying. Three out process with able ready. Didn't understand what you were going for. Being, able to share information. You know literally every morning we would speak with each other how he feeling house today. And because of the nature of of this virus. Everyone out very different symptoms as long as operating in very different rhythms. When someone was not feeling good. we we stepped up and filled and DOT rall. On old came together when I wasn't feeling well. the same thing. It was a really going back to earliest this collect and saying it was. Logistically as well as philosophically dot was the way through this. As well as coming together as a collective intelligence which. I think is really you know it's all hands to the pump for everyone.

"In the last little bit here tonight I'll get to the Robert foster up I thought I had tomorrow night I got a full show we're going to our show tomorrow before there is enough football when I get to some calls you're the before ya your let's let's start with just give rather let's go through to Jack Jack you're on that I can't what's up. I was just wondering no I and I would listen to the whole thing about the whole justifies story kind of brought into are there any New England because they're so crass. the story it would not I I get where you're coming from but I don't believe so I know that there's a horse named Gronkowski I know that Tom Brady goes the Kentucky Derby but I'm not that I know of but I know I know you're coming from that's funny let's go to buzz buzz you're on that I kept up what about Joe how you doing good are you good good event sound works is a four year but I and this is not something you actually like Lasix is the big deal all building go down towards this and that but I will say that the the last caller in the news the New England Patriots was genius. really what what I really have to talk about those real quick real quick got the bills are going to match up really well with with with eight Ingram in with Barkley they're built to match up with hi Dan and in the end when you talk about today this white it might as well just take the day off he's actually going to be probably covering the tight and which you can do with a grunt he as using grok people are in or Barkley at Barclays flashed out you know yeah it's it's whacked out you'll be on that good good get the bills are gonna Rall bad it. later yeah thanks bye thanks to comment on I did that you know you're right like tree what you would think of a matching up against tight ends because of the size but I did think he did a pretty good job of its courthouse you so I'll be interested to see if they want to use them against Ingram arm I think you could do it but. I'm not sure you'd want to have in shadow Ingram because the size I don't know if you want him covered him all day you know I mean but yeah I don't disagree when you've only got two great players that you need to focus on that I think that makes a lot easier as a defense we are you know the bills defense has look great for at least two seasons here so I am not thinking the giants are a score many points on Sunday and as for our far as the horse racing thing part of it I guess that's not surprising super surprising to me. I think about boxing for that when you have so much power in. I guess it would be the fighters in this this example does not horses but like the owners and the trainers and yet when they have enough power I think that's when doping in cheating can really start to thrive and that's what happens a boxing at the very least let's go to Pete Pete your last call that I can put them in. they still love the show thanks man all I wanted to improve the bills left offensive tackle I know you have the young Dawkins. yes Sir I want him on the street I don't wanna laying on the ground you check that play in the fourth quarter when he calls and they have a quarterback keeper to the left side this guy's laying flat on the ground without touching anyone are you talking about the quarterback keeper where they got the first down yes yes I want you to focus on this guy bone because the more he improves the left tackle offensive tackle the better our passing game going to beat this guy came in pro white planning is free making that first bunch it's a two handed clutching the stand the guy up a him P. thanks a calm and like I get what you're saying but I did I don't. Lee I don't see it the same way I get what you're saying in that I you you're left tackle I think you need improvement of the young Dawkins as a whole but I thought he was great on Sunday I love the office of why the whole was great and there was nothing Dawkins did that I saw I know the player talking about I think. he was he was on a design block to kind extend out to the linebacker so I think he still did his job on that play if I'm trying to remember it right off the top of my head I had no problems with the young Dawkins on Sunday I think he definitely need to improve but instead as far as who the left tackle is right now I have no question about who that is for the bills at least for this year hello question all about it all right they give the calls and I gotta get outta here NASCAR fancy to pit reporters on the way next I'll be back with you tomorrow night at seven o'clock for an hour before we will carry you Panthers Buccaneers Thursday night football I'll be on the air for an hour before that have a good night it's been the nightcap Jody Biasi here on WGR your in charge of hiring and indeed has solutions like company pages where you can get people excited about working for you and we give you this toy monkey which will bang it symbols when the right resume appears..
Saudis blame Iran for drone attack amid calls for US strikes
"Though. We'd been worried about Iranian provocations for weeks. You never know where the strike is coming for ships, targeted near the strategic Emirati port of food our food, Jiwa rall in which the described as a sabotage attack. One of the ships was flying a flag another Norwegian flag. This attack is part of the complication of the Gulf, because there is an ongoing feud between the UAE and Saudi Arabia on one side, and Katha Amman Kuwait on another side. This is the Gulf Cooperation Council. There's also an ongoing war between Saudi Arabia and the element in Yemen, the who phase who are allied with Tyra, so. An attack at the UAE has everybody looking around and saying who did it. And why? And how do they gain from this? It's a mystery that begins immediately within these last hours. We have the crown prince of Saudi Arabia on a tweet and through a newspaper. That's published in English not only blaming Iran for these attacks. But. Recommending guiding the US just surgical strikes on the Iranians in answer to the attacks on these four tankers. We welcome ambassador Barbara leaf. Bob relief was the US ambassador to the United Arab Emirates during the Obama administration and early in the Trump administration. She's a senior fellow at the Washington Institute, Madame Basseterre very good evening to you. When you heard the news about the attack on the tankers, what was your first thought surprised? Did you look to Tehran? Did you say this could get worse? Good evening to. Well, you know, frankly I wasn't entirely surprised. It's the sort of thinly disguised, the Niable kind of, at that the Iranians have gotten quite good at now that said it didn't come, right? Out of the blue did it because you had as a backdrop study esscalation of tensions between Washington Washington and Tehran. Of course, the, the big backdrop is, is the decision by the one year anniversary recently of the decision by President Trump to withdraw the US from the Iranian nuclear accord, and enter exert a campaign about pressure economic pressure largely, so there have been some straws in the wind, but I think the most important thing to look at for the moment is the announcement on the fifth, but the national security adviser John Bolton that the US had decided to accelerate deployment of, of. Carrier strike group, that was already in route to the goal against of US detecting certain threat streams. And so with a very stiff warning from the national security adviser that the US would use relentless force studying attacks on the US interests or those of its allies. I think it's a little bit predictable that you would then see Iran do something that was denial. But just their reports of fighting in who died the as the who the's and Saudi forces both broke the cease fire. That was that followed an announcement that these going to withdraw the troops from that. So what is what, what account for the resumption of the hostilities and is the reached in Stockholm in danger of completely collapsing? Well, I think there's, there's real. Strain. There's real pressure on the agreement and the agreement was really just showing some attraction with the beginnings of the redeployment out of a data in two other small ports, but you have to recall that on, that we had the, the, the sabotage attacks so mysterious, bombings of four tankers off of gera- on Sunday, the twelve and then the next day, several drone attacks of on armed return attacks against a Saudi east west of oil pipeline, which likes the pipeline that runs from different era is a way for the Emirati the Saudis to export oral without going through the strait of our moods. So stations were bombed, the who in fact, took took responsibility. Responsibility for these attacks and the coalition then retaliated yesterday. So I think there will be in fact, some very significant strain on this on this agreement. But, you know, the Hootie really had no cause to do what they did Madame or is it? Is it possible that the Iranians believe they're about to be attacked? Is that what's going on here? Do they believe that the US is going to use our strength to crush them? I do not accept that I think the Iranians are shuffling. A lot of assets around an have been prepatory step possibly. But I don't believe I don't believe Tehran. Thanks. It was about to be attacked by this carrier group, coming to the Gulf after all, we have traditionally had a carrier group in the Gulf. We've, we've several administrations now have have strived to keep a carrier present in the goal and there are casually, gaps in that coverage. But I don't think they looked at this as an imminent attack. I, I tend to think frankly that it was a test. It was a test of the proposition that we would indeed meaningfully extend such a security on wlov. Over of loosely define. And allies in their interests and see what we would do if if they wept some. So they denied it. They were the first to report on it. In fact, and expressed shock and indignation at these mysterious attacks. There are suggestions, and people who try to says that the Saudis, you a coalition have reason to feed the crisis and against the US to ramp up tensions with Iran. They're being hit from various sides, and see the danger in the streets of her Moos. What do you think? Do you trust that the, the non US intelligence on? This conflict is scribe responsibility to Iran, which is certainly capable of doing all of these things is this tied to the arrival of the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN. So I the attacks are tied but I think it's more. They are tied to the to the bay fifth announce mentor. That makes warning by the White House about any any move to attack you interest or those of an out of allies, but I don't you know, look, I haven't seen the intelligence, but having worked in government quite recently and seeing this kind of thread intelligence for years. I don't have any reason to think at suspect the problem with intelligence of courses. It's a piece of a larger puzzle that you are trying to put together and trying to divine intent on the part of your adversary. It's very, it's very tough, tough enterprise,

They, you know, here's a they had someone go through a disassembly of the code and try to step through it and comment. Like, hey, here's it's doing this doing this. Here's something that's in the code, but not looked up right? And and promotional images that they found throughout kind of the history of the game being announced cancelled and or just going away on they ever formally came out and said digital art book. Yeah. More or less. Minor notes and stuff, and it's a hot zip zip file cool shit. So it's it's a neat. Way to release that stuff. I think a lot of prototypes. When they get dumped. They get. Yeah. Here. It is out there. Like, hey, here's I think over the break. Also, here's a beta of tomb raider for the PlayStation weird that put out an another another loss game. Here's my question. Is there any sort of worry about Nintendo involved in this because you know, over the last couple years they've made it pretty clear that they're not a fan of rom sites and then enroll. Rall it's probably to protect their Ps that they're interested in reselling and stuff like that. This is a game that they're never going to sell. I don't know that they would own a hundred percent of the rights to because somebody sim city. There's a Bill right or a maximum focus. Intendo game. Yes. So so there is part of that. But that was Nintendo developed and intendo published game for the for the snacks anyway. So the stuff made it out to archive dot org, which has an exemption from the oh, and for kind of historical yeses, and that sort of stuff. So I think that there there could still be fight around that stuff. But I think it's a lot murkier than than maybe some of the just Rahm site shutdown stuff than intendo has been doing. So yeah, I the way it's out there. It's you can't you can't. It's out there. That's the power of the internet. So yeah, it's been interesting. I took a look at it..
