"I think he can be a bit bit more selective in what he says then comes out because i feel at the moment that he plays such great tennis and he's such an entertainer on the court but at the same time he say is just Is saying things that maybe a little bit putting putting potential fans of him off and he needs to focus on his game. Because i do think the allies vary i think has picked up his mental. His mental strength in his in his tennis wouldn't necessarily say the same of specimen. I still feel that. He always is clutching defeat from the jaws of victory and again a player of his caliber of in that third set in the semifinal. Being a break up he would have gone out he would have expected to go on and the fact that he he did it. I think will be very kind of disappointing team in a game is still feels that he has some sort of fragility about him. The regardless of what score is in a match. Whether that's in the moss's or in a grand slam feels like if you really really good You'd be able to exploit it and leave. Maybe surpassed ruining his opportunities. Yeah and another player. He's still fragile. Joel i would say it's donahue medvedev. When it comes to leasing the in the course of a match. They i would say. He's got some some right to be a bit annoyed. Because he was in his semifinal with with rib he collided with a camera at the back of the cool in the middle of the point and he knocks. It could have been quite a nasty accident between onus with the a broken hand. Yeah i think he was threatening to sue today the toward off after that But yeah he then kicked. The camera wants as a backup right again. He's of karachi kicked the lens which was not to move moving injury perhaps during that. But yeah i mean it's a it's an interesting point because this is something i didn't think about cameras on cool until something like this happens. But perhaps they could be better located. Yeah you just to see it's there and then you can kind of what that into your kind of movement around the cool looking at the replays. I've i've got a. I've got to be on my my connotation. Is the player safety. Shits be above all and dot camera just has no reason to be in corpus lee. Yes i know it probably gives you the the fans. Yes it gives us a court level View and i know some fans really love that that point of va. I'm you know. I'm a i'm a cave. It's essential giving but I just think it it just had no right to be. That's you'll nissim felt looking at. It just felt like a little bit of an obstacle and i know of the players of played on that coal. Probably you come into contact. had a collision like medvedev but It just for me. Yeah just. I just didn't think needed to be that of i. Think places it could have been ole could have been managed a little bit better so i wonder i do wonder if we're gonna be seeing those sorts of cameras in in cincinnati in the future. Because i did think it was a bit of a a bit of a health hazard. Yeah absolutely i mean it's it's a you could argue the same with with line judges and all sorts. I suppose it could collide with a line judge and have a terrible incident when you can't remove overdose can be but certainly Maybe they can. Maybe this opening up a conversation about wag hammersley it was. I think he was so of the week. Full at grade is rip. Lev himself had agreed with mom facing in them which rivers basically accusing gal when face of always cooling for doctors and trainers and every time he starts gonna leasing You know he pretends he needs medical timeout of thing off to the the aero of raffarin raja you know. I think a lot of talk about that rivalry particularly as a cement hitting. The atp is so very nice. Very friendly ally again. You think this week. We have seen quite a bit of echo. I think you know you. Spike about that incident with with rebekah memphis face. We sell with deftly so between a pass and serve yes handshakes in the embassy. Suddenly in the heat of the moment It wasn't particularly kinda friendly And then yeah Bet the cabraha be bev. Could just have acura. I feel like with anything encore. Not necessarily just his appointed but Yeah even it inaudible objects but yeah. I do think that this is going to be a a character. i think. Act to be of the tool. It's common it might. It might be a bit bull spicy. Might be a bit more interesting. Maybe even a little bit less today than what i think. Maybe we were used to in kind of the peak. So of raffarin and roger era from a few years ago. Yeah i need to some people. Assaulting refer to refer to the little four which i- ashim which encompass. I guess the the four semifinalists that we had in cincinnati. But then i. I wonder where is dominic team fit into that. I feel like i dominate. Make teams kind of is he always a kind of between the big three full because he's you know he's won a slab and i think he would cause any acura with anyone i think he's he's a nice guy. I mean it. Certainly i think cincinnati was interesting in the fact that it did feel that all the semifinalist it was the battle of the young pretenders and that was what made it. I think say fascinating and you know it was a little bit surprising because i think we were all sort of expecting medvedev to to come through weekend swear to come through against rupe love that some young sets up very very nicely i think for the us open just before we got onto the the women's draw him..

"To the projection booth. I'm mike whiteman we once again. Is mr krista shoe. Mike thank you as always for pushing my cinematic boundaries as much as you can and i always appreciate it. I am glad to be here and joining me for this month. Is mr spencer. Seems thank you for inviting for months. African cinema month continues with a look at con directed by muhammed camera. It's the story of two men manga and story guinea. Who are in love. Everyone and everything tries to tell them that they shouldn't love one another including mangas mother and stories. Father we will definitely be spoiling this film as we go ahead. You have been warned so spencer. When was the first time you saw khan. And what did you think it would have been. Aw a dot and who's on fan door somebody on there. It's all this on video of people want to watch it. Yeah i was watching raffarin films. I stumbled into this one. It's grown on me like i It's favourite it's not super watchful because it's kind of tragic but it's still just say It's one that i really like in. I like more and more Chris about yourself. What did you think i know. It wasn't intentional. That you had me on the show. Mike as someone who is bisexual and i know. We've joked about it. I came at this from a different angles spencer. I don't know your sexuality sending my business as someone who is open and bisexual as someone watching this movie. It was at times heartbreaking at times massively uncomfortable and at other times massively relatable similar to derive in a way it touches on some stuff that this area of the world especially this topic even now has a very hard time dealing with africa's stance a countries stances on homosexuality is really bad as bad as any of the eastern european countries like russia in regards to their treatment of lgbtq a plus. Yeah it was honestly. This movie was a lot like a lot a lot. I had to stop at a couple of times. I watched it twice. But it's there's a lot going on. I'm excited to talk about it. But yeah it's it's a pretty heavy movie. Yeah i'm research. I was going through like Countries with ultra bt. He writes stuff. And i found like a a for who did the list but it was like a score of like laws and conversion therapy stuff like that and a lot of african countries are at the bottom and i was not surprised. No i mean similarly to what we talked about in derived with the country of chad in its massive amounts of corruption. Unfortunately there is still a cultural. Push to denounced deny rebuke homosexuality. And this i mean you see a lot in this movie so this film came out in nineteen ninety seven which was the year that the story of brokeback mountain was written. I say it's funny. Because as i'm watching the movie. I just kept thinking of brokeback mountain. Because of the idea of these two guys. I mean with that one. It is two older gentlemen who are kind of already set in this pattern of their life. They're not necessarily old but they're in their twenties and just kind of like figuring stuff out still though they're being pushed in this heterosexual lifestyle type of thing. I just found it very ironic. That if anything in. This didn't necessarily informed brokeback mountain but it could very much be seen as like the african brokeback mountain. I guess it would be like a brokeback kilimanjaro. I will say it's a good companion piece again. It speaks to like you said mike. It speaks to similar themes maybe not entirely the same once. Definitely not exactly the same cultural ones because again will. I'm sure we're going to get into it. But there's a lot of cultural subtexts going on throughout this movie especially with the usage of the music the traditional guinean. I would assume gideon. But i'll just say african music. There's a lot going on here. Almost more so than brokeback mountain in many ways. Because brokeback mountain. Kind of again. This movie and brokeback mountain dew. Lack subtlety. i think that's one thing that i would. I was reading reviews of people were like. This movie lacks subtlety. That's kind of the point. There's no beating around the bush here with homosexuality when it comes to. The african continent like spencer said almost all the african countries are at the bottom. This is a known issue throughout the subcontractor the continent and then the countries within the continent as a whole so it's getting slowly better Like it's gained decriminalize in some countries and and sudan had a death penalty for gay sex in the repeal that law last year so it's overall things are inveterate still it's their fifth behind and you can trace it till colonialism with like the forcing her shanty on people plus like the how like a lot. A conservative christian by la churches in his country go to africa in day shreds spreader gospel. Whenever and sometimes gospel some phobic and so the problem will never end pretty much which is kind of the sad thing while i mean in this country within the last hundred years. We've had sodomy decriminalized in many states. Sodomy was a crime. Might still be on the books. I'm i would wager a guess. It probably is. Yeah there's a difference between repealing the law versus enforcing the law. Yeah marijuana is technically federally illegal. But the federal government's not knocking down doors in people's houses in colorado so enforcement verses. Maybe they are. I don't know i think i think it depends on the color of their skin to sure does. Doesn't it this movie yes. It is not necessarily that subtle. But i appreciate that. It doesn't pussyfoot around things we've talked about characters being coated gay or possibly open gay charlie character to keep ilke. I wanna talk about that first. Second the gay character that mike. You consider charlie character homophobic little bit. I mean it felt very much. Like here's this gay guy. Let's rob him but at the same time. It's not like anyone's exploiting him. It's definitely not like the cops are not listening to him. It's not like the cops are coming over to charlie's place in busted his head. They are very responsive to his complaints. Channel death i can wake can fanatically make sense of the geic with the joke of that character's kinda wake they wind really the iffy part of like. I don't know how to feel about this exactly. It's funny but also like i. I don't know if you.

"Mean there are full crowds. Because i noticed it was absolutely empty in the evans. Bubbly machingegun in. That was just them. Not appealing to people. That was that was curfew. Fit in. toronto crowd of around four thousand. Six hundred is allowed in the main stadium. They're not allowed to go anywhere else in the ground so all outside courts are crowd louis. Four thousand six hundred in the main stadium then this this curfew of approximately five pm so in between the second and third matches on center court. The stadium was emptied the preceding match on centre. Call as you a really good match so bizarre but really good one five fini against strip which fanie one despite being deadman walking for setting off The crowd was told to go home after that. Much and then donovan's play to an empty stadium. I felt like there was some fans that had come back in two evans versus book blake at the end of the match. There was a smattering of people. There and i think that there is a night session crowd in toronto. I'm pretty sure right. So it's two separate swathes if four thousand six hundred people but they have to make sure that they don't overlap polls right right situation. It's it's it's weird but we're used to weird yeah the other thing. We should say That there is to look forward to is rough out being inaction in toronto. I mean look. It's fantastic to see him. We can talk as well now about what we saw last week in in washington which were full crowds and which were dal just whipping them into a frenzy which was a real reminder of full crowds in america can be like and what an dow can the effect he can have on on a full crowd. Because we've just been without that because he didn't play wimbledon he hasn't played many tournaments with with lots and lots of people presence in recent months and that was great to see his match against jack sought that he managed to win from a bright down in the final site. Vintage raffarin that respect but blaming the tennis generally and his physicality were not even on the practice court. He was whipping them into a frenzy. David i think we've all seen a clip is doing the rounds on twitter of a local reporter in washington doing a piece to camera with adult behind him on the practical just about the dull coming to washington for the first time and he was absolutely cheating the bed about in washington. He was losing his mind on. Live television about it. It was sort of adorable. Yeah it it's it's a crowd pleasing thing we've done to play in washington It was it was a really cool reciprocal relationship. I felt that needle loved being there and they loved having him. They really sort of rolled out the red carpet for him and gave him this incredible reception. And we also got my favorite my new favorite in the dole which is tourist and dull misidentifying washington monuments mixing up the capital and the white house posting a picture of him wearing a bicycle helmet on top of his cap. Brilliant and adorable. Yeah looking startled dogs in the street it was. It was great instagram nidal last week. And someone commented you've mixed up the capital in the white house and he just replied yes. I just see a limited number of fans roughly five thousand or allowed procession this into we exhausted this david. We definitely exhausted it. Okay what's the deal. Matt with this foot issue that the dow has because because he lost his match second round match the ended up playing and and didn't look in great shape. Well the foot is a problem area for nidal i think right back at the start of his career almost ended his career before it really started. I think they were really struggling to control the pain in his foot and understanding is it was kind of a last last resort the solution they ended up finding that foot and he you know he's played his whole career with implants in his shoes and he has managed some pain in that area. And i think anyone who watched that fourth set of his lost djokovic shit roland-garros you could see. He was limping he. He wasn't moving freely in that force. I don't think it was necessarily the reason he lost and i think he. He was outplayed on that day by djokovic but there was clearly an issue for him there and he subsequently as we know poured out of wimbledon the olympics and he gave some quote saying that. He's not really been able to train as as pain free as he would like in in these last couple of months since rao guarantees he's had ongoing issues and hasn't healed as as quickly as he would like. And i think particularly that sock match that you mentioned in washington again. He was very visibly limping. And struggling with it and then he said it was a bit better for his match. Against loyd harris which she actually lost he beat salkin and lost. The loyd harris in washington both three-set matches. I think his tennis was up and down as it has been all season really. He's not he's not been quite vintage. In the dow this season he has had some slightly odd matches But you know it's his first time playing in a while. And i think the consensus was that his tennis was okay but this this is a problem and he needs it to get better quite quickly because otherwise he's he's in a race against time for the us open which obviously is is the goal for him over the next month or so. But yeah. I think going to be very interesting to watch him over the next few weeks. It wasn't the said of ravenous dull kind of like a caged animal. That i was thinking he might be after a couple of months and on the sidelines. With everyone else really pushing through wimbledon the olympics and he was sort of raring to go that is that is not the situation wherein there are. There are some doubts about adult fitness. As well done yeah. Let's just hope that foot does clear. And he's opening match in toronto is gonna be against the guy that beats him less than a week ago. Washington is gonna play lloyd harris again. That's that's must see tv because harris one is much tonight. I saw in your coverage catherine and he. He's coming man isn't he. He has really put it together this year. Yeah and yet. I still keep forgetting about him somehow. No i i know what you mean there. I feel i feel like he's someone doing that. Attention more than than what. I feel like i give him really but is it the i was trying to compare him to to boob. Blake earlier where i feel. It book is really a conscious really forced himself into my consciousness this year. Kind of we can we count. You know he's showing off. He's the seems to always be involved in a match. That is sort of notable significant in in some in some way. And i just of course. There have been notable results and weeks. Lloyd harris this week. Of course this year lost last weekend's of couse that we can in dubai where he reached the final..

"Yeah absolutely it will. We'll see how he progresses through the rest of the. Us open spring but like gin thaw a genuinely thought with food crowd. That would have been the thing. The would have got him excited. We've seen him go to the crowd and osc wedge will be to serve on. We're going to have the team. Have out white i was. I think he really loves that. The interaction say. I mean maybe in the future. Maybe that's the that's the source that he needs. Maybe he just needs to reduce rediscover that and that that means. He needs someone on his team to help him. Rediscover that is able to do that himself. But i certainly feel like yet. It's the fans obscene. Love him being there and yet maybe he can. He can use that as a source of inspiration going forward he probably needs to play the raffarin. A factor being a give him a a piece they were small of close to each other in the the drool. What what was that was on the cards. But it wasn't was eight because rafeh I mean raffle. I mean raff had a couple of matches. Were win very tough. Win against jack walk. And then he came. unstuck against loyd harris. Yeah and you love a bed. Lloyd harris thank you. You love his hair flowing so yeah. I was like typical lloyd harris. Yeah six four one. Six six four lloyd harris kind of getting of crucial break in the said set. I mean yet. Disappointing as a rapper found. They didn't go further for me. I was just pleased to see him back. And i thought you know. He's had six sets of tennis. Hopefully that's what he needed in terms of match practice you know. That's why he's probably comeback early. It's this event as opposed to starting out at the mall. Sary's and i think positive news was that he said his his kind of injury which is sort of still bear. Bear it's improving. It's getting better and you know he hasn't been able to practice kind of the time like he would have been wanting to say to be able to get through these team matches. I think he he seemed to be kind of fairly. Oh right Afterwards and hopefully you know in toronto this coming week he can. I mean he's actually going to potentially playing noy towers again but we'll get into that later. Loiterers could have two wins of his life in the space of two weeks paps but think that was probably lloyd is biggest biggest win of his career. I suppose as anything he's ever defeated someone of rafters caliber are. He's become the first player to win his first meeting with rafeh since eighty euro data chiappa valve Him in twenty seventeen in the The rojas copying montreal so Yeah it was really really really impressive from him. Think we've seen yes. We spits in spurts. I think from lloyd harris this season i think particularly earlier on. I think i remember in dubai. He put pretty good run to get the from qualifying all the way through to the final in the main draw in ever since i've sort of cut a been predicted to kind of go on and so kickoff on bataan yeah i felt like with dave that victory. He really did show The talent. I think that he kinda possesses and gay. He's any kind of twenty four years old he sort of. I think now the battle has been passed to him. I feel from kevin anderson In terms of kind of south african tennis. And i think yeah he should be a moment now where he can kick 'cause i certainly think he's got the the tools to to to go to go. Hi physically i think with his ranking so he will obviously take great confidence from that victory with ivan. The dow came the other match. The dow played. I think we need to talk about that as well. Because three hours against jackson walk the crowd were absolutely loving it. I thought he was actually one of the matches of the year. So far it was just such a it was it was such a surprising Surprising encounter. Because i didn't realize why think we've gotten actually is fans how good jack salt can be on his day. And i was really really impressed by the level that he that the salk brought the core against the dollar i think both players and it with more winners than than unforced errors yes. Nadal played an absolutely expert Tiebreak to to win in that third set but again that was not an easy That was not an easy opening match for nidal and it was just a fantastic fantastic battle between the two them. Yeah i mean. Jackson was seen a former top tan. One i think the paris masters like quite a few years ago. Now say we know on his day he has. The game is just black. That day has not been happening for a long time. And i guess when you're out on a night session with rougher you wanna turn off your date so if there was an occasion where he was carry on that is exactly what it curiosity needs the nights he needs tonight session. He needs the cameras on him. And then you'll be right is right. He just wanted to say tension doesn't play. Well an american as well. Jason brooks be. He reached the semifinals. And i mean he really is like on a hot streak at the moment because he is now into the pundit i think in the world whereas only you know a few afi wheat well it seems like a few weeks ago. He was outside the top two hundred and he's got the newport fine all. We got to the semifinals hair. And yeah looking looking really quite quite prospect but also you know andy murray been getting involved on twitter which might be paying the kype shorten him. We all know are berries. Prediction sometimes can be bit interesting. I but yeah he he so upset that jensen brooks bays exactly so apply that he loves to watch because of his variety and his his high tennis iky saying his backhand volley was almost identical to flurry. And maya which supply. The i had not thought about in a long time. How could you. How could flory remind won't be at the front of your mind kim on him and his back. I'm fully. i love that. That was quite a niche reference for berry by app see loveday and flora was a quality player back in the day. I remember watching him. I think against you'll see one on like an outside. Cool flushing meadows of the us open and it was just such a thing. I just that battle of of double-handed backhands dislike offices so good but yeah jensen bixby is was. I play this week. Who i gain think like mckenzie madonna. Just one lots and lots of fans probably not law players. Sorry fans at her had heard of him. He got to the final in in newport. Where las to to kevin anderson Yeah kane came in herod just picked up some really really impressive victories and watching know i don't watch much of him before and kind of watching him on tv again. He's just got this style that he's just a great defender. I think and He was just able to get the everything back. In the i watched against He took out a felix. Elliot's it was just really clear for me. Murray talked about the fact that he had high tennis. Like you and i completely agree with that statement. Because you don't sit to him on the net faa. I think the moment yes. He's got talent. But i think he's gonna low tennis. Iq i think he's strategy wise. I just not sure he's got it. I just don't think he's got it down yet. And when he came up against someone like brooks be between was just getting everything back and faa just didn't really know what to do and i don't think he necessarily has that variety yet the a thing she chiappa is so i think overtaken him in terms of prospects for canadian tennis right at this moment and doesn't have that variety and as a result you just of standing behind the baseline hoping to hit winners and win the match that way and brooks was absolutely having none of it and he was running around the corner gang app. See everything back in and it was just really really impressive. Yeah i suppose the faa win probably his most impressive as well as his win over in the round before an came out saying this is. He's very difficult to play against. He you know. He's not the most orthodox suppliers as well so Is very tough. Very tough opinion. And and i think american tennis.

All I could think about was the one of because friends of ours brought over some deviled eggs. But all I could think about was the person who texted this last week to say that She was making 18 eggs in devil ng them so there are 36 Deviled eggs, right? I don't know about this one. Raffarin's burger. I don't think that was a very good move. But I also would know that there's a story out there. "Sam Shane. The KF became morning news news 93.1 KFBK now trending a big drop in rental prices appears to be luring new younger renters back to the city of New York. Even as office workers and wealthy New Yorkers remain in the suburbs and more rural resort towns. A new report shows new leases in Manhattan. Increased 33% in October, making it the best October in 12 years. The fight continues to solidify the results from the 2020 election. Georgia announcing that the election there is so close. They will start counting more than five million ballots cast. Georgia's secretary of state, Brad Raffarin's Berger says he will stand by the results. Obviously, this is a very close race and people that were on one side the hour are don't like the results, and I get that I'm a Republican surfer Republican. But the results will be the result. NBC NEWS Radio National correspondent Michael Bauer joins US live to provide some insight into this latest on the election counting the lawsuits have been filed. So Mike what other states are considering recounts and what states have pending lawsuits. Well, we know that there are certain states that when you reach a percentage in this particular case, a 0.3% differentiation between President Trump and Joe Biden and Georgia there's automatically a recount that goes into play in other states. Like if President Trump is demanding a recount and say Wisconsin, for instance, if it's not within that range that the state does itself you are responsible for paying for that recount. So that kind of upends a number of these places that Somebody could say I demand a recount you have to pay for a lot of people are thinking twice about that. So in this particular case, too. I just wanna have like this with Georgia because I think they're a lot of people that are confused about it. They're saying they're going to do this by hand that they're going to do this recount by hand, are calling it an audit. What it actually is, is kind of a hybrid of an audit. That audit means they're gonna look at a cluster of ballots that were put through the machines for accuracy. And if they're cluster with people looking at eyes equals out to where the machine was going to say. Everything that was put through That machine seems to be validated right on track. So we're good to go, then they'll move on to the next machine and go that direction. If they start to run into problems, then they're gonna have to go through and do everything by hand and by eye for that one centralized machine at that time and then change up as they go forward, so It doesn't work. It's going to be all counting and all ballots from one person or multiple people with eyes. This is going to be something that they'll do in clusters and spurts. Which is why they're thinking they're gonna get this thing finished and have it done by November. 20th. Oh, that's well, thank you for explaining that because we were thinking, my goodness, they're gonna have to take every one of those ballots by hand. That's crazy. November 20th you having everybody in this state do this because it would take forever to get there, Right? Absolutely, Mike, thanks so much appreciate it. NBC news radio National correspondent Mike Bauer joining us this morning. That's a great explanation, breaking it down for us like that a lot. Let's get on with roads. Let's check in with Brian Noble Field rolling on a Thursday morning. Morning, Brian Good morning getting a little bit busier. This report is brought to you by Mercedes Benz of Stockton, Not Did you know it on I 80 coming in from Roseville. It's 13 minutes in from L Grove on I 5 17 to do it on 99 cats, um, slowing the beginning about halfway between Mac and Florence. That's due to an action it a little bit further up the road, just past 47th. "Hello everybody happy while wherever you are on this glorious year revision we can came under your Eurovision Song contest fan you. I think you're even begin to it this year. Weren't you in in Rotterdam so? Have you been coping without the prospect of any sort of live dies than well getting Easter? Now Joel tennis being canceled Irvine being cancelled. Yeah I had tickets for the first time and it's law it was council but hopefully out next year and we had celebration on on the TV last night and had some Swedish food and some cocktails to kind of raise a bit of a glass to what what never happened. But but yeah I think I think you were watching us. Well Joe. You're right yes I was. I catch Lubbock came. I'm going to hold my hand up here. Johnny Logan he comes on the TV and have no idea who he is by turns out. He's he's pretty much the go of of the on contests Mariah a bit. Like the Federa of of your vision life. If you don't tennis you you at least know the name federal. Maybe Johnny Logan could could be a bit like that but yeah. I was quite surprised. You shouldn't you've never heard of him. He's one well three times twice as a singer songwriter. Say He is the kind of the winningest person in in your vision. I guess you could say but yeah maybe actually we can do a European podcast as well. But let's let's go to tennis because we're going to be looking at the Italian. Upn and top eight movements. The happened in rave the last few decades. And perhaps I should lead on this one job because I'm going start with a moment featuring the man himself rapper. One of surprise well yes and listeners. And said he'd rougher bear with us because we all see you're not the end of the alternative Casey's season I mean let's be honest because light Madrid. Rome is Dallas. Hi I think he's one like what nine titles zero something ludicrously say is as as hardly a surprise to kind of see him featured this list say yes came. More is was the first moment. We're WE'RE GONNA be reliving. Well I thought we have liquor two thousand five. Which was you know I play horses and really where he takes. The kind of took it by storm. He won the first time. Yeah his first of nine titles. I think back in five and so he came up against Korea. Who at the time I guess was probably the most to stop ish claycourter of over air or at least one of them very face competitor for sure but the final was another five-set Masters Final five-set thriller? It was over five hours long. Which if you think about now if they were doing that consistently Austin Final Monte Carlo Madrid. That would just be insane. I mean I actually am believe that they used to do this to be called with the but yeah it was. It was a real ding. Dong to one of the better word. Joe Six four three six six three full six and then rougher one at seven six on a law set tiebreak but think about this much. Rougher was a double breakdown and fifth say. Who's three lockdown Sakaria? Really could've gone on us up momentum going away and one but I think really is kind of weakest point throughout his whole career was was his mental strength and he kind of collapsed that combined with with. Rafa you know. Obviously he's attitude his diehard shoot. Never giving up. He was on like a sixteen match winning streak at this point and say obviously he. He had a lot of belief in his game. And but I think Korea would be very devastated after this loss at I think. Actually in his post-match she interceded say this was one of the hardest defeats of his career. I think it was interesting to is. I think Korea probably getting into this matching gains clay season. Yeah he's probably thinking. I'm beatable on clay call. There is no one else out there better than me and who comes along on the Dow eighteen year old teenage eh relatively unheard of and I think this match proved that even when Korea was playing his absolutely best tennis possible. That was someone else out there better than him and I think he was kind of disheartened by that and I think this much great show us. You said mentally he you know he wasn't as strong as some of his other competitors or I think when you're three love up Double in the fifth set us really should be closing that match out and he wasn't able to do that. I think that's one of the things we might associate with a player who you know as brilliant as he is in Korea kind of on the mental side of things. I don't think you could put him up there with the greats and I kind of look at this match. I look at the two thousand four French Open final as well where he Gaston Gaudio. In the final game was five sets but again crucially he was two sets up. He was six love. Six three up was unable to close out the the match. And you know he's probably one of these as you put in the category of greatest players never have one. Ud wonder if if he hit if he had won if he had won this final in in Rome beaten Dow that would have given him the confidence indicate and reinforce that belief that he was and he was at the time the best the best clay court player in the world. I think obviously that loss against scout and then going into this match against Rafeh just his. His mental side of things just wasn't subscription. A Rafeh had beaten him in the Monte Carlo. Final just a couple of weeks before this so again he knew he was up against and he kind of let it. Let it slip away to be honest with you and Yeah so I just thought you know. Obviously this was this was a great match and it was symbolic because again you have this is like the birth of of Raffarin. His kind of play. Call dominance in this. Totally kind of pulsing off of his. You know the best steak or two at the time we had people like Carlos Moya one Ferrara Cowdrey. Kara in a sort of all very good establish trae which just as soon as Raff kind of started working his magic. He'd I guess it kind of became almost impossible. Perhaps to argue against for being the best. Geico

I'd like to see that then as I said, you know, I'm like, I'm like a shoe sale, like a foreshadow or I like I said there should be a movie about this woman, and all of a sudden, boom there is remember you said that. Yeah, you're, you're magical are should be in the business. I should be show biz what okay show biz. In many cities radio be considered show. And people stand up to shake his hand. He said he has not paid for a meal in five years, every time he goes to a restaurant there jumping over each other to try to pay for his damn. He does a local show in Portland, Oregon. Conversely. In Los Angeles radio is considered like like the fourth or fifth rung of show, business's movies television. Youtube sports, right politics. And then, you know, maybe six or seven there's radio, but, you know where the real people are real blue collar workers. They're listening to radio. The good old, our people. That's right. And that's the people I like this. So we're home is, we have the best people ever, the smartest funniest and people work for a living. And to prove that bender put up a, a picture for a caption contests, and we've got this some of the funniest responses ever. It's not bars. It's. The other planet. Your highness. He has an OJ story because he was working at his dad's restaurant in San Pedro, when OJ came in when a no OJ during the chase and when he got on the one ten south petro, says his dad yell we're going to have to hide OJ. Well, he thought OJ was coming to the Raffarin. Yeah. Oh, that's great. All right. Here's more on Gloria Vanderbilt she passed away. "Parents, we try to divert money to our six MARTINI lunches, and we need only it's just the Taurel can't have that because schools don't care about kids. They care inasmuch as they have to while they're there, but they're happiest when the kids go home for the day school ministers don't care about kids, putting this mom. Represents the frustration. That every parent anywhere has ever felt dealing. Dealing with anybody at any school anywhere. She's South Carolina, mother. She has been arrested after she entered a Greenville, South Carolina area school to confront her child purported, bullies schools. Do nothing about bullying nothing that matters. You know, they have bullying awareness month, what does bullying aware with purple purple ribbon. I don't even know anymore. All of the colors had been. They've can't be anymore causes because all of the colors have been taken. So it's pointless, but they have bullying awareness month where they spend a week rather, where they spent a week, telling victims that they've been bullied telling bullies that they're bullies and explain to everybody why it happens when they all ready know and then they Pat themselves on the back, and they say, okay, good. We saw the bullying problem. And while they're busy breaking arms. Pat themselves on the back the bullying victims are still victimized and the bullies are still bullying because schools don't care. I don't know why they don't care but they do not care. Now thority is charged. This woman. With. Was her name. Can I find this rathburne is our last name, Jeannie? Rathburne is her name is thirties, charged? Aimee Rathburn with non student interfering and disrupting or disturbing schools. Okay. But they're perfectly good living, there, her child get beaten and abused constantly. But the moment she stepped on campus. Whoa, whoa. The problem here. Why? Because it proves that schools don't give a damn about the students that's what it proves now. Jeannie rathburne entered Greenbrier elementary school and verbally attacked a group of third grade students who are sitting in the hall. Authorities reported that Raffarin reportedly shouted at them pointed her finger, f group. I love that we are supposed to clutch are pearls my God. She pointed her finger at children, doesn't she know. They're just kids for the love of God yet. These kids go home and play video games where they kill people. Okay. Shaking a finger in someone's face now that deal, but she pointed her finger at the group in a threatening manner. How is that? What does that does that? I'm sitting here trying to point my finger in a threatening. Maybe I just don't have it. Maybe it's just me and used profane language when addressing teacher Raffarin center son, enduring a long period of bullying while attending the school, reference said he was told that he was ugly that he was stupid. Nobody cared and he was called gay. He was cut out any when he reported these things he was told to ignore it. I was probably wasn't just told to ignore it when it comes to school. I bet it was like, well, ignore it. We are. So, you know. If you don't ignore it, you're probably going to tell your parents, and then we're gonna have to have meetings. All right. And after school is when we drink. So if your mom comes in from meeting, we can't drink, or we have to drink vodka because it looks like water and not everybody likes so. You know what I mean? So just chill out, dude. These she documented many of the attacks in a ledger style book. A portion of the entries read hit kicked hit with computer shoved jerk off slide ladder, aunt from behind his neck, kid, tried choking him. He had small scratches and red marks on his neck likely wasn't a surprise that Raffarin ended up at school on the same day as arrest, the South Carolina mom reportedly shared a Facebook video complaining about the alleged bullying behaviors explaining that she was not playing around and insisted that the children's stop harassing her son. The incident was caught on the schools closer, TV cameras Beth brother tin, Greenville, county schools director of communications, so that the district does not tolerate bullying, regardless of age. That's funny. They tolerated it just fine when it was her son getting bullied. They were cool with it when the other students in the class were bullying her son, but she comes in and suddenly, they don't tolerate it. Is this a new policy just passed in twenty nineteen probably? Brotherston. The spokes hack said an incident on the playground where her son was pulled off a slide was addressed swiftly by school administrators and the child responsible was disciplined. According to our behavior code. It was also reported that other students had made faith that him and comments about haircut. In these cases you could argue that this is typical behavior from eight year olds is it kind? No. Is it right? No bullying. That is in the eye of the beholder. Well, the kid view, behold it as being bullying and the mom, behold it as being bullying. You know what the school, did the created the perfect situation where the little eight year old boy could be bullied more. He got his own pet teacher to follow him around everywhere. He went at every moment he was at lunch. His teacher was there. He walked down the hall. His teacher was there. You know what you saw bullying? I don't know why schools won't do this. They won't. But I don't know why they won't. You have one bullying incident, the bully gets punished. You have a second one. The bully gets punished. Again, more severely, you have another bullying incident. The bully vanishes poof by. Goes to one of those schools have the wire razor around the top. One of those schools that you see on TV. Where everybody's bad all the girls are pregnant, and all the guys are gang members who are just lingering around long enough to get to make their moms happy before they venture off in their drug trade world, what you do is you force these kids to spend a little time at a school with real tough people and find out exactly how tough they are. Maybe because I guarantee you don't get bullied there. But schools won't. Do you know why they won't? 'cause they don't care and this mom went there, because she was frustrated, this mom went there. Because her baby her eight year old child with being bullied, incessantly constantly and school did nothing to stop it. All they did was create a situation where the bullying continued. Over and over and over again out of complete frustration. The mother went to the school. Out of complete frustration. And she admits it, by the way, she admits, she crossed the line, and that's fine. But the school did zip when it came to actually solving the bullying problem. And I think you will find. If you go to any public school anywhere in the country. The schools do nothing when it comes to bullying. You know what we do? We have another bullying awareness. We do. We have any purple ribbons left that solves the problem. Because everybody knows if you wanna solve a problem. Well, you have everybody wear a ribbon. That takes care of everything. That's why there's such a mad dash have them. Because like I said, before we're running colors once going on colors, nobody can wear ribbon for that any more. And if we can't get a and we can't solve the problem. I wonder sometimes when this nonsense happens, if the administrators are sitting in the teachers lounge. Goes on with teachers lounge. I imagine like hookah that kind of stuff I don't know. But I never been in one, but I imagine they're sitting around they're going. Huh. Why is there still bullying? We did that thing. Why is that is that still thing? Anyway, the mom went over the line right now. Here's the issue Jamie rathburne faces either two thousand dollars in fines, or a year in jail for what she did or and or a year in jail for what she did go she's already banned from the campus. She can't go back on the campus which is good from the school standpoint. Because now they can, you know, not worry about the kid being bullied anymore, not that they ever did. But they can still if the kid be bullied and then the they don't have to worry about mom coming down and complaining and more. She could probably still call, but you know, it's like when I was younger and called girls, they just let it go to voicemail, but they don't have to pay any attention to the phone calls anymore. But I wanna know if you think this woman should be punished for trying to protect her child out of sheer frustration because the school did nothing and schools don't do anything. I'm here to tell you right now. And get neither one of my kids were bullied in school. I'd never those kinds of problems. But thank God, because I don't even know how you deal with it. Because the schools don't care. So I didn't know how you deal with it. But if you, you're a parent, young parent, and you are preparing for your child to go to school, God help you. If your child is bullied. Which they horrible evil thing that kids duty. But God help you, if you are bullied and the reason you better hope that God helps you is because the school will not. The school will pay lip-service when you ask what happened to the bully? They'll give their standard line. Well, we can't discuss because of privacy issues. We can't discuss what we did. I'll tell you what they did. Nothing. They may have done some superficial. You're gonna miss recess young man. They might do something like that. But they won't do anything substantive because they, they don't care. But God help you if your child is bullied because the school will not, and I wanna know if you think this mother should be prosecuted. She didn't touch anybody. She didn't use any words that the kids don't here at home or on TV. I know my kids could probably write a foul melt novel over what they've heard me say, but she was frustrated because China was not only bullied by the other students, but then the school created an environment where he would be bullied more. What else could.

"ESPN LA sit down and show here on ESPN LA. We are outside here at the plaza thankful to have the fan. Stop by say, Hello pre sheet that. We have some breaking news on Lonzo ball. I know we're supposed to have Ramona Shelburne on here's you guys. Let me know. She's there. Let's let's get to Ramona. Ramona's got some breaking news. It's on the front page of ESPN dot com right now about Lonzo. Ball, mama. Thank you so much for taking the time on quick on such short notice for those that don't haven't had a chance to either hear about it or read it yet. What is the news about Lonzo ball? He's he's sever ties with a man named Allan foster who was one of the co founders of big baller brand. And if you watch the Facebook watch show if you've seen he followed the ball family being him quite a bit. Can you play the pretty pretty strong pretty big role in that in that series and anything around the brand? And it's you know, if you read through the story and find all the reasons why. But I think you know, what I found to be the most interesting part of this is is simply Lonzo made this decision on his own. I mean, his his dad initially was not on board with it. And then eventually is on board with and you'll state that affected the story. But I think to me that was a a substantial dentals movement for Lonzo ball to make that decision. You know, all out on his own serve against the you know, what what his father had set up on. Ramona. What's the history between this Allen, foster gentlemen, and the family prior to creating big baller brand? Yeah. I mean, I think what was they've launched told me that he had bad Allen through Allen, son. I guess Lonzo in Allen's son, Enzo guess friends in the seventh grade, and they they're still friends. Actually, I think if you look last maybe fifteen th they released a a revenue together ends those a Raffarin their friends, you know, live music too. And so they out fosters in a friend of the ball family for. It's probably went two thousand ten that's as long as the seventh grade year. So they've been real close, and he's identified. Always is lavar business partner says, yeah, he owns sixteen percent of the companies of big baller brand. And he was the business manager for all the all the ball family companies. Lavar says is partner in the junior basketball league and all the other other things they own and so it's going to be there's a there's assistant tangling..

"Manny Machado. Ddos tenure three hundred million dollar contract. With the San Diego Padres recon is going to meet the media sometime during the one o'clock hour out in Arizona. We will carry that live Scott merkin from Camelback ranch at one thirty soccer disappointed. Obviously, I'm disappointed at SOX fan. And maybe they could still get in on Harper. Who knows are they willing to go to three hundred or three twenty five they weren't willing to go to three for many. I guess they're out. And I don't know why they wouldn't be willing to go to three for man. It's not like the White Sox Raffarin 175. That was never accurate. I it just wasn't. It was much more than that. Now. Did they were they offering enough obviously, not? The disparity was Kenny Williams tells me they didn't offer enough potentially. But a ban. Those aren't words. I wanna hear what I'm negotiating the deal. Dr Josh is in Skokie on ESPN one thousand eight Dr Josh. Josh, josh. All right. Josh Apu going on. All right. Let's go to Mark in downers on ESPN one thousand. Hey, mark. Hey, guys. How did you decide to say? I'm disappointed. I thought that for once the White Sox. We're going to be in the game. I think it would have been very important just for the psyche of the team and it puts them in another league when they get somebody like Machado with the free agency coming next year with everyone that's gonna be available. It would tell all those people that Chicago White Sox could be a destination for that. And if if I really appreciate recon and the way he speaks to the media, the honesty didn't like the fact that Kelly Williams made a statement to say. At the same time. They should've known what it would take to get Machado. Been saying it for a long time, and they should have went out and did it. Yeah. Maybe those last three years he won't live up to its potential, but who does very rarely do those long term deals work out. I mean, I get that. But you're still looking at what if you got seven, you know, you still had six or seven prime years of Manny Machado where you're going to win games with players like that, you just aren't improving odds. She will he was on some successful teams not all by himself. But he was unsuccessful teams in in Baltimore. Same thing with Bryce Harper was part of a winning culture and winning teams for a lotta years in Washington. We told you that franchise before. Strasberg's apart of it, Ren dones. Apart of Zimmerman's part of harpers a part of it. I get it. Brizo. Put a really nice team together. That franchise. It hasn't been to the playoffs since one thousand nine hundred eighty one up until they all kind of came together in two thousand twelve and they've gone four times in six years. Let's go to Eddie in Chicago. And I'm sorry Cicero on ESPN one thousand. Hey, eddie. Thanks, guys. How're you doing? Disappointed today. This guy's twenty five years old. I look at the franchise as far as having a franchise player the organization right now doesn't have that guy. Currently ender innovation this guy. Also based on the position he placed third and shortstop those are key positions in baseball. And then you're talking about a second third fourth batter. So the production and the type of player that he is to me. I think it would have been worth going after having signing him because of the type of player his age and he's a proven player. He is. Thank you, Eddie. And I read you that story from a couple of months back, actually, I saved that I held onto it. I don't know how much they've adjusted for code numbers to they're looking at the future. Pagoda Prokhoda projections though, back at baseball perspire over at baseball prospectus. I think this was like in December maybe early January when I found this article. But if you look at their historical comps the guys that have achieved what David chief through their age twenty five season Harper Machado. And then you started the average out with the players prior to them did over like their next ten years. You're looking at for Harper wins of five point one five point five five point four or five points. Three five point two. And then after thirty it does start to decline four nine four three four three. Those are good numbers. Machado's not quite as good four four four four four one four one and then down into the threes. And that's you know, that's obviously all because of the age projection. Prokhoda does not like players on the other side of thirty. But I mean, look at those Harper numbers. Five and a half, maybe six I'm more. You're White Sox calls coming up when Rick Hahn meets the media will carry it live. It's carbon in York on ESPN one thousand we all know, the Kentucky Derby is one of the greatest sporting events in the world. But the road to the derby is long at spring training is underway. So if you wanted to add you picking.

"He had Thunder Gulch, and then they came into ninety five and they produced, you know, and he got the diverging was the big Philly, and and the two colts and the eventual winner, you know, this is kind of like Lucas into ninety five is kind of the way feels and backwards just show berry strong. You know, you gotta keep in mind, you know, Baffert Brown and Pletcher have combined the wind, you know, what nine of the last twelve triple crown races something along those lines. I mean, these these three guys have you know, dominated the series and dominant in American racing. One of those winds in between there. Steve Asmussen creator in the Belmont. Of course, activists and has won the previous stakes. Rachel, Alexandra, most notably. So the only thing missing for him this year is or in his career would be a Kentucky Derby, and I think Steve ask. We're going to have a little say this year. Well, you know, one of the stories that we had and and one of the one of the groupings of horses as you refer. In fact, you've got a piece on that topic where you group you group the. You know, the the big the big outfits together Pletcher in and Baffert and Brown but last year at this time, we we were really watching Dale Romans. And and Steve Asmussen who would certainly be at the top of the list of you know, of horsemen that would like to get that that derby trophy added to their their sizable collection, and they both by the time we got to June had really disappointed and spite the fact that both of them had eight or nine seeming contenders. Among the sophomores really nobody stood up and stepped forward. Ten the board in the Preakness was probably in the end. Raffarin, but but not not to the level. Right. So to be a real contender too. So win one of the classics, and yeah, I agree with you. And Dale is the really quiet this year with his two year olds to three complex. You're extremely quite who was pleasures best horse. I mean, I king for a day as his top runner coming into the season. But not you know. He doesn't have the kind of hand that we're used to see. Now, we know January February where he's wraps up the wsa coffee golfing story, and we're expecting to win a school of made the specials, and I level around traits there over the next two months, but you know, his runners need to kind of move forward. But remember when always dreaming won the derby a couple years ago. All he had was the maiden race at Saratoga where he didn't run that. Well, and came back two months later, and you know, all of a sudden, you know, rose to the level of Florida, derby and Kentucky Derby champion. So it's not too late for these horses for sure these force men, we're just getting started with and it's gonna be a lot of fun throughout the whole season down. Well, with the the two preps on the horizon tomorrow quick thoughts about the sham and macho man. Both are part of the express bent, Pete, the host contest. So I'm not going to reveal totally what I'm doing here..
