"That was what everyone was looking at at the time and it's a more fragmented world today in terms of the media and so on. But you can still be sure that there will be a huge TV audience for a major event like that. And we also have to see that as a sign that racing is still doing something, right? But it still hasn't quite slipped as far off the radar as some sometimes like to seem to want to suggest. But we've lost, we lost quite a few spectators during COVID. There's no doubt about that. I think the attendance was down below 5 million for the first time last year for a very long time. But that still makes racing either the second or the biggest spectator sport in Britain. And that's a pretty good place to be. Yeah, I think that can get a little bit lost in the overall coverage. And when we're talking about you've written about racecourse attendances and obviously we've talked about it quite a bit here on the show as well. You can link the cost of living crisis. Very much to that. People are going to be reluctant to go racing because it's a great day out, but it's an expensive day out. And it's particularly expensive when you're deciding to eat a meal at a race course or you're going to have a few drinks there with friends as well. It's not a cheap day out. It's a brilliant day out, but it ain't cheap. And so people will rethink and I was in the shop buying cat food and dog food the other day. Something that was 8 50, 5 months ago. And I'm sure it was that price. Maybe it was a year ago. It's now 14 quid. For the exact same pack. And I was thinking, God, how are old age pensioners looking after their pets and things like that? And look, that's a story for another day. But things like that are going to have a negative impact on the sport. But then you look at the Irish media rights. And it's 47 million a year that OMG are going to pay for the benefit of racing TV to have access to the Irish broadcast rights. And that's just those 21 Irish race courses. That's an example of how huge the sport is, and it can be. There was a woman arguing about how and she was making an excellent point. We're going to have her on the final front podcast next week. She was making the point about the negativity in American racing. She's based in the U.S.. And she was talking about how there are a lot of issues with inside American racing. There's a lot of things that the sport has to get right. And that it frustrates her when people argue that all the sport is set to blow up the sport, Sophie shore is her name. She made an eloquent Twitter thread. Twitter thread detailing some of the issues within the sport. And she was arguing that, yeah, the sport can blow up. It can get huge. But in order for it to do that, we have to correct what's wrong. And she takes real issue with when the media are highlighting, for example, the top lecture story with force a and the fact that that horse tested positive for a band substance, he'd claims he's innocent. Protests his innocence and they are going to appeal that decision, but it doesn't change the fact that the horse was withdrawn from The Kentucky Derby, is ineligible to run as things stand in the pregnant stakes and won't be able to take up his engagement there is now being disqualified from a two year old race. And this was the leading horse going into The Kentucky Derby, and her point was, the journalists who were writing about this, they're not doing it to harm the sport. They're doing it to highlight the fact that this is a huge story about a big trainer and a huge racehorse. And that should be embraced. No one is writing that. There will be some people who will be malicious in their intent to the sport. But the vast majority of people, if you write something negative about this sport, you're doing it because it's a story that's in the public interest. If we cover the Rachel blackmore story, for example, and allegedly writing a Finnish circuit too soon, she says she didn't. Video evidence would suggest otherwise. That doesn't mean we're turning on Rachel blackmore that we dislike her or that we're trying to tear her down. We have great admiration for Rachel blackmore. She's a fantastic ambassador for the sport, but nobody is above reproach and nobody is beyond criticism. And I thought how she argued that was excellent. And you mentioned it at the very top of this interview as well, that there is an attitude within the sport at times where we can get very defensive, and we can get our backs up. And there's a lot of nonsense that these people talk. And I thought, never choose Dale when he's debated them and Richard hoyles, just to name two, have used logic and reason against them to debunk their arguments, and they didn't get heated, they didn't get heavy handed. They just calmly swatted away their arguments. That's the correct way to deal with it. But when there is, when there is negative stories within the sport, I mentioned pork image to you beforehand and historian potential drug abuse within Irish racing. Guy was vilified. It was as if he was just trying to make another name for himself. This is a highly respected journalist who's speaking to a legendary trainer who's making some serious allegations, and it was just swatted away as though it's nothing, nothing to see here. That's all nonsense move on. And really, we should be looking at those stories and saying, well, look, we're the ones who should be policing this sport in the best way that we can. We should be highlighting any issues and putting them in the spotlight ourselves and exposing any wrongdoing because this is a great sport. It does have the potential to blow up. It does have the potential to be as popular as Formula One if we do documentaries like drive to survive and access to the wider public. But the issues that surround this board need to be dealt with by the racing governing bodies by the organizations and by ourselves and we should have confidence in our own sport and in the public to be able to deal with these situations, front facing and still be able to have a sport that we can all believe in. And if we're

"He's a man who takes no nonsense and he's an incredibly talented trainer, but he's going to need to be honest a game title that he kills best of luck to him. And lupus looked princess oh, as well. We want to see her fit in well and competing. I don't like the idea of running in the Galway hurdle. Quite frankly, I just don't think she's taking turtles, but she can still have a lot of fun in the flat. And this whole thing really came about because she failed the vet. At the sales and Patricio, as far as I understand, doesn't want to read, doesn't have any interest in breeding. So they were taking her to the sales as a broodmare prospect. She failed the vest, and then they decided, well, let's go jumping with her. I'm pretty sure that's how Tony described it in the build up to Shelton. And it's just gone horribly. It's played out terribly. It really has I feel very sorry for Tony Mullins. I feel sorry for Danny as well. In all of this, then he's an exceptional jockey and he's catching. He's not just catching a stray. He's getting it both barrels from this fella. But best look to fall not only because he is a top class, a top class jockey in the jockey Jesus Christ. A top class trainer and it's not his fault. He's fully entitled to take the horse on. Charles burns. Again, Charles burns falling foul of the Irish racing authorities. He's been fined €6000 and the jockey Gavin burger has been banned for 21 days for breaching running and riding rules with a favorite at gore and park. They were found in breach of rule that rule we talked about with Rachel blackmore earlier on two one two a but this one is two one two AI not allowing L at to run on its merits of Goran park. It was a three to one favorite for one mile 6 handicap race. The horse ended up finishing fourth. How did it look to you? I didn't watch this race live. I got a text from my friend just said Charles burl. Charles burns. Oh God, what's going on here? I don't know, it's a Charles burns find, and I thought, oh no, this guy again, what's happening here? Having watched back the race. If you had backed that horse, you would be absolutely screaming at the TV going, what are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing? Go go and just nothing happens. And the horse kind of finds a little bit of speed. Not too far from the post and runs forward quite nicely and finishes fourth, I think it was. But from the replays I saw in the horses highlighted, everything about it, you were just thinking, okay, this sauce is good. This one looks really good here. So when our favorite, I believe, did it? Yeah, three to one favorite. Yes, between sorry, and you just think, well, the favorite's going to win this. How can it not win this? It has to win this. It's not going to win. And look, this is obviously a very contentious issue with what goes on. In races throughout the world, which is getting the horses handicap marked to something they think is winnable. I think it was, I thought it was really, really telling after this actually that burns said that wasn't pleasant viewing. I think that was the quote, wasn't it? That wasn't pleasant viewing at all. So you can make of that what you want. What does he mean by that? Does he mean what the jockey's done? Does he mean the jockey's the instructions that have been given to the jockey heaven carried out or who knows what the instructions were? I haven't read the report in great great detail there, what's been explained. But just watching it, you're just thinking this horse has got to win and it doesn't, and it doesn't really come close. And I just go back to being a punter. If you haven't a bet on that race, you would feel so. Pissed off is right. This is why a couple of words, I guess, is you just be thinking, my money, what's happened there? What has gone on there? It didn't. If the trainer himself is saying that wasn't pleasant viewing, I think a punter would be reduced some different words to describe it, let's put it that way. Yeah, it's an Omni shambles. Is the polite way of saying it? It should show would be sorry if your kids are in the car and you're listening to this, or if you're strolling around your kitchen, I apologize, children, every now and again, we use colorful language on the final for the podcast. It was a disaster. And it was pretty bloody blatant. And I was Charles just trying to throw the jockey underneath the bus because if that was the case, that's not how the stewards deemed it. They went, yeah, we're not taking that excuse is credible either. Which is why he's been handed the €6000 fine. It just looks horrible. And the thing is, they've made a comment afterwards that the horse is a history of making a noise. And that wasn't prouder was saying that he had been given instructions to try to settle a horse early. You've got a double handful, mate. The horse's absolutely

"But this site you tapped on seems pretty shady. And Daryl from IT just jumped up from his desk. Oh no. He's coming your way. It's a good thing built in malware production keeps you safe and sound. Not from Daryl, though. Sorry. There's no place like chrome. Download Google Chrome on your phone. James Griffin is the racecourse commentator, nailed this. Rachel blackmore just having a look over her shoulder, I think she may have mistaken the winning post. Now, the stewards brought her in as they had to. I believe Rachel was saying that she didn't mistake the winning post and that she was revved the horse up and that he can be a little bit Larry. They said under rule two one two a, they couldn't be certain that her misjudgment, if any had caused her to fail to obtain the best possible placing and therefore took no further action. But now cronin of the IH or B, their communication manager, he told the racing post that they noted the comeback at the stewards inquiry and they were in the process of gathering all the relative information surrounding the race and the subsequent inquiry and that they are going to investigate it themselves. And rightly so because it doesn't look good, Sam. Now I was watching this live and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. And I was like, what's going here? And like you said, the commentators seem to nail it exactly and call it as he saw it as it was happening. There were some really, really interesting wording in the stewards report, which I can't remember for the life of me now, which would they use. But basically, it amounted to they knew that this looked strange. I think the way they use now, it's not coming to me. But basically everything pointed to the fact. Everything suggested, sorry, that what blackmore did go and past the

"About two weeks. Oh, sorry, 12 day break in August, but I think if we had, if we could condense all the summer jump racing, a lot closer rather than just having scattered about meeting here one week, two meetings here another week. It just seems like it's so, so stop start all summer, I think if we had if we did have a substantial break where jokey could go away and spend a few weeks with their family stable staff could do could do the same similar and I think it would make the jump fixed it. The jumping fixture is a lot more attractive. And during COVID in Ireland, back in Joey guan Brendan. As well, you know, there's so much so much little price, but you've been scattered over so many meetings during the summer and I think that could be the reason why that would be beneficial. It will prize money is pretty brutal in general, but it's certainly not good. During the summer months. And I've spoken to jockeys in the past who said it's actually costing the money. To get to the races and they feel obliged to go. They feel obliged to be there because if they don't, there's an owner looking at them funny, there's a trainer who's taking a bit of an attitude to it. And that's adding further pressure on you. And it's not really their fault. It's the fault of the fact that the fixture list is there. The system is there. During COVID, in Ireland, in 2021, the HRI introduced a new system which restricted only jockeys who'd had less than 15 winners in the previous year. So if you're going to have racing at least you're going to give it an opportunity to jockeys who aren't necessarily tearing it up Paul town in style. Would that be beneficial in the UK? Definitely. BMI spoke about obviously dads working over Joseph sent down and I think the last couple of years in Ireland, they've had those couple of weeks where like you said, those meetings have been restricted for riders that have ridden a certain amount of winners unless the season before and I agree that would give a lot of the jockeys that are struggling to make a living and struggling to get on those better rides for those better trainers. They give them an opportunity if they want to hang around to do it. And I just think it would be fair to everyone really. I haven't explained to any of the Irish champions about it, but I have heard positive feedback secondhand. Yeah, it's gone down the storm here. And it's fair. It's giving an opportunity to jockeys who are either haven't had the best of seasons or are younger and are coming through, whereas the jockeys who were well established like yourself are now able to take a proper break. And I think that the reason why the likes of Rachel blackmore and Paul tennant are happy in Ireland. First of all, they've got a great jobs and they're getting great rides. But secondly, the calendar just plays much fairer. We don't race every single day in Ireland. And you know this through your father. It's a very different setup in Ireland. And how the BHA aren't prepared to do something similar. And look, maybe they will. Maybe this is one of the great things about the new fixture list changes that are being made. There are announcing culling of races left right and center will hopefully they'll be able to extend this in as well. But do you get a sense from the BHA that they properly understand? Just the kind of unique challenges that you're facing. You're driving right now on your way to a race course where you have four rides later on today. It's a pretty intense daily battle that you have against the scales. Minding your diet, the travel that you have. And that's the same for you and all of your other colleagues. Do you get a sense that the BHA fully understand just how much is being asked of you on a daily basis. I don't think they do. I'll give you, I'll give you one example. Obviously, they, the racecourse, and the VHA, so it's a bit of a VHA decided to get rid of solar's in the Japanese weight rooms during COVID, obviously due to COVID protocols, social distancing, all the rest of it, which was fine. And then they obviously gave us an extra waiting allowance. During COVID, which was a help. Don't get me wrong.

"Really figured out that he went off at a 7.17 .2. I think John O'Neill came in for a few quid as well. He was probably one of the best backed the other day at a bigger price. Envoy and then really, really impressive winner made a bad mistake for it. How do you make a few mistakes in the way around not necessarily John for that? They raise koi team and did make a mistake at stake at the Tour de France, but look, he was already winner in the end. Okay, you can make excuses for shishkin. I touched his trouble right from the get go. He was nudged along earlier on. He made a mistake at the 5th or 6th, then he made a bad mistake, real bad mistake. I actually thought he was going to be pulled up there because I actually placed him to be on switcher because I passed if things weren't going to go was way, you know, he was going to be pulled up, I just had that feeling about him. And when he made a mistake, I really taught nickel was going to pull him off but I did because he made a couple of mistakes up till then boss, but a horse that we weren't 100% there and would stay up the hill and chat them over too well for I know with the idea of a goal called but he really did rattle harm, didn't he? To hitman for a second, where will he go to entry and this is just made a great point there and a bit of horses haven't had races. He did have a higher race. For me, he had a very hard race in second. And he had raised right to the line to get up for the runners of medal. If he did turn up at entry, I wouldn't be look, he was undoubtedly unlucky, but I wouldn't be piling an injury at a slightly short price but look back to the winner envoy Allen and again just hops off a great beak for Henry and Rachel and chief depart have a great probably more along with it with our flat horses and they had a great week. They're having great chaplains that last couple of times, but yeah, look, he's always been a classy horse to the last couple of times he's tasted defeat was against energon man over two more and he's really come into his own over that trip and it's great to see him back to his best and again for connections. He's a 9 year old now, so I'd say the target will be to go back there again next year but a really good winner here she's going to look in second, but as you can go forward actually, I think had quite a hard race there. Yeah, he ended up being the try and get this phrase correct, shall I? Square peg round hole. Oh yeah, I actually got the most words out properly as opposed to earlier on with Paul Ferguson. Like he's not fast enough for a champion chase. But he ends up there because they had a laho and they clearly didn't trust him for a gold cup. But this is his third child and festival victory. He goes very well when you go on to the race form data on left handed undulating tracks and he's very, very good when fresh. I'm pretty certain from memory the three of us put him up for this. So we're all on the right side of it, boys. And Dennis, he was given a magnifique ride from Rachel blackmore, and speaking to Henry du bromhead, he was emphasizing that they were just puzzled with the king George that he was never as happy with them, going into the king George, he'd never felt that he was in a better place. A neither of them could understand neither him nor Rachel could figure out what went wrong at captain. But it's probably a blessing in disguise that it did, because he's rocked up to the rhino chase and put on a stellar display. Oh, he has, I thought it was a great performance. Now, where he traveled to the race was unbelievable. I've never seen the horse go as well to a race, usually he's kind of switching them off and all the rest. It was hard on the steel, the whole way, jump well, yeah, maybe he did make an art little mistake early on, but not really, you know, he was just so fresh and well, wasn't he? He just went through the rays with so much fire in his belly. He was enthusiastic. And he was electric from two down to the last down to the last couple of events. He showed some speed. It was awesome to watch. However, it was a tricky kind of a race and if you watch it back and I did really did have the right position secular on the outside. She had the whole front box 8 covered. And she gave it a really good ride. And I taught nickel the he was just a bit unlucky in that he got caught in a pocket which is the whole way around and he just couldn't get out of that pocket. His heart is in his heart and his insight. He couldn't get out of that pocket. And I just felt the horse wasn't comfortable surrounded by horses. Now I have to say, she can demean her. Looking at him before the race, it just didn't look quite where I'd want him to be for a championship race. It just looked a bit not sure from that happy to be here. But he did, in fairness, Ronnie's heart failed. And it's clear that he's a global parts for next year. He never again on the runner ever. But I just think, you know, he needs a bit of light, a little bit of space, and I just can't think or he just got in his pocket in the race. And if you watch a bank and told you understand what I mean, there was like a diamond, a diamond park at all the way around. And he just couldn't get out of there. He no space to jump. No room. And to me, he looked like a horse that was thinking about that around him. And he wasn't actually focused on job and that led to a couple of mistakes. And I feel like custom. Now, you know, he was coming back again at the line that we wouldn't have beat and violent on the day. But it wouldn't surprise me. He turned that far around if things were a bit different. Totally agree with Barry, and he got a very hard race. I still haven't quite worked out, but he's still a very, very talented horse. And a good ground to the ground maybe might decision him as well, but if you watch it back, you'll see where I come from with the whole diamond shape, the way the race worked out for him. He just could not get out of that pocket. He was stuck in a park at the hallway and he couldn't get into that flooring rhythm, and he'd have been better off nearly just in between Rachel and the leader, say, in between them and looking and getting a good side of the expenses. And he would have had a better chance. You know, I just feel he wasn't comfortable in amongst them. And I think that led that brought about that little bit of claustrophobia, whatever it is with him. It just brings that out in them. And he kind of got gone when there is all over at no doubt the mistakes cost him. And I could never see him running around here again. I absolutely 100% he'll be in the goal next year. And Harrison all would end vial and I don't think he's there to trip in the goal. But I could see him in place and I go home. But I could never see him. I really staying the trip in the goal. And I don't think he's a hostage, you could write like gallop and sharps out the back and writing for speed eater. He's not that type of horse. He's kind of a far we're going horse. But I wouldn't go back to two. So I could see running again in the Rhine air next year. Next year. And I wouldn't surprise we have to a bit of headgear animal as well. I was going to ask you about head gear for shishkin. Would that be an option? Shishkin has gone from being this superstar who you can trust implicitly to being a very, very high class racehorse, a proper grade one horse that you just can't trust at all. And that's how I would categorize them. He's not a racehorse. I wouldn't say it in a way that he's gone like he's not gone into any sort of like he's not an on January and I'd say the horse has had a few issues. Oh, definitely. And that's led to a that's led to him being a bit that kind of way. And he's obviously gone through a fair bit of pain. And

"Can get there in three hours. If you make it up this week and of course, you'll be able to hang out with Bobby Newman. Oh, yeah, God, you know, that's why you got to look forward to hanging out with Bobby humor. I hope you show up. You come out here, I'm buying you lunch, my friend. Thank you, Bobby. And bob, nice talking to you, okay? Absolute pleasure, Charles. Take care of yourself. Good luck this weekend. Yeah, thanks so much for calling. Let's go back out to the phone's Paul in Connecticut. You've got Bobby and bob on the Bruce net dot com call in show. So Bobby, the reason I'm calling is I always chill and adequate following Charles, but I'm more serious, but I have a shtick too that first of all, and maybe three or four points one is you're very good in your unlikeable guy on the radio and you're a very good announcer. If you've got that job and melded like evicted with Nancy because she's very good at what she does. It would be really fun because I tend to like to watch Oakland and these dreary winters. Second point, twin spires has this thing going with the jumpers all week. And I've had a ball. It's a $10 bed back. And it's so enjoyable to watch these races and I've been looking at various British bookmaker sites and kind of reading what they have to say. And you know, it's not a numbers thing. It's insight thing. And I'm having a good time with it. And if anybody wants to have a good time, they should be betting those races. The third thing is the Saratoga race track admission charge at $10 is ridiculous. And I worked there 9 summers. Working there, you didn't pay, but I'm a pretty frugal guy. And I know the limelight track situation. And I know what they're going to put in money into in Belmont. And I've watched some of the feeds regarding all the state legislative support for that. But $10 is a lot of money for admission and I know the price is on the food and so forth in their gouging people. And the last thing is kind of an overall commentary on something I go at it with people on regarding I guess I'll say in the trainers and what I believe is not above board behavior by trainers. And I just watch these numbers and I think like an internal auditor's presence when they're in a big company, the mere fact that people know they exist curtails, I would say less favorable behaviors and part of trainers. And I think just the presence of this entity if it continues forward without that Louisiana guy Landry trying to get this overturned or who other state rep type situations push against it. It's a good thing that they exist. So that's kind of my thought, but I hope you get the job, okay? Really appreciate it, Paul, thank you so much. I can't really speak on that. First thing I appreciate the kind words from both Paul and Charles and sounds like a couple of guys that want to be your agent, Bobby. Well, I may need them to be my agent. It's always nice to hear praise for your work. Bob, you follow European racing more than anyone I really know here that's based in the states. I follow some of it mainly because I'm a degenerate. I handicap the French races daily, the French thoroughbred races. I should clarify that. Fantastic. And I actually handicapped Hong Kong, the two days a week that they race. But I said, like I said, I think it's more of a degenerate thing with me than anything else. But obviously, Paul likes the races and is not strictly interested in the thoroughbred races. He was talking about the jumpers. I know that you watch these things more than anyone else. What is it about the jumpers themselves that draws you into them? I mean, they're incredibly tough animals who the last few days at Shelton. They've been racing in pretty dire conditions and the last couple of days in particular and heavy rain. And they're just such determined tough animals. And one thing about them is that most of them are older geldings and you gain familiar familiarity. They're racing careers tend to last longer if they remain healthy. They come back every year. We had a wonderful Philly or a mayor named honeysuckle and Irish trained Philly trained by Henry de bromhead and ridden by Rachel blackmore, who just finished her career 17 for 19, and she ran a great race, winning the mayor's hurdle, she won the champion hurdle last year, and a brilliant horse, one of the most exciting horses in training of horse called constitution hill trained by Nicky Henderson, ridden by Nico de boonville, just blew apart the champion hurdle. There was the champion bumper yesterday, there was an 18 year old kid named John gleeson riding for the first time ever at Shelton who wrote a marvelous race for his 86 year old trainer. So just the stories, the excitement, it's just basically, it's the Pinnacle of the jumps racing season, all the best horses are pointed there from England and Ireland and a few from France. And it's just remarkable competition. Tomorrow is the last day the feature raced the whole meeting sort of the breeders cup classic of Sheldon as the a cheltenham gold cup, and right now, with the Eastern Time zone only being four hours behind England, you don't have to get up too early in the morning to watch it. It's just a brilliant way to start the day. It's just that amazing spectacle I've been to presbury park many times in Shelton. It's right in the Cotswolds. It's just an unbelievable racing venue. And you'll see some stunning drama, and that's what we love about racing and the dominant stables like Willie Mullins and Paul Nichols and Henderson and Gordon Elliott and guys like that, but there's a lot of little guys that jump up and win and have become once in a lifetime horses. So it's just like all the things that attract us to horror stories is great stories and great drama and tremendous efforts by horse and rider and you'll see plenty of that at Sheldon. Let's take one more call before the break Tom in St. Louis. You've got Bobby and bob. Hey Bobby and Vaughn, how are you, gentlemen. Great. Thank

"So the cheers the sexy, your 13 mistakes you made in the Welsh national. Either going through the top of events or making an absolute highfalutin mistake. Go look at the race to get this quite busy. But this is obviously going to be more difficult for lucha. Nikki Henderson when he has a novice, time is never of the essence. He's very patient trainer, isn't he? And he said this before with Lucia that she's very headstrong at home. And it's taken a long time for her to drop the bit, relax, and use that motor to maximum effect. But this is completely different. Therefore, I think she's a little bit short at 64. She could very well go in and hose here with a clear round. ASTRO diamond is solid. I mean, the form is there, isn't it? At the highest level, really, really solid behind facile Vega. And reverting to novice company, one of the great ones solar arena, just over length and chitara, that's really solid. Lots of joy. Magical zero remains really interesting. Henry's taken a very softly softly tiptoe way around the race course of magical Zoe, almost as if he knows there's more left in the tank, but he didn't want to test her before Thursday. I think her biggest attribute is she travels so well through a race like almost she's got under the gear, but she hasn't had to use it since. The ground is what you say could be a factor with her. But I think she's I think she could be 7 to ten bound better than she's shown so far. And that's worth bearing in mind when you come to working out your own private ratings are which is what I do. I obviously look at a time form and I look at the racing post and other people's ratings and then I'll adjust them to my private ratings and she has almost in time form palance got a big P and my book. So with a clear round, I think Lucia may be good enough to win this, but that is not a given one with loss of joy. We haven't mentioned 90 day. You wear it well. This is going to be, it's going to ask an awful lot more of the chair. So I'm almost going to sit out on the sidelines in this one saying, I think the two will win with a clear round. But it's by no way, by no way a given. Yeah, so I was saying I would have loved her to run in the supreme. And I understand why they've chosen not to do that. So this then might sound odd. I'm taking her on. Why am I taking Iran when I was so keen to back her in the supreme? Because reading Paul Ferguson's excellent whether he's children, first of all, been a goat, which if you haven't bought yet, you can still get the PDF copy delivered to your email almost instantly. Whether it be shop, use the promo code final 23, lower case. Two three, and you get 5 pounds off, and it's yours pretty much instantly. British bread mirrors in this race. Zero from 23. Why? I don't know. I have no idea why British bread horses struggle in this race, but it's a thing. It's also a thing in the boodles. Something you should worry about for biker. If he goes and bolts up, don't have too much of a puppet, this is all his work. I'm just stealing it. Nikki Henderson trained mirrors, including epitaph. All beaten, ten. He said ten runners in this race. They've all been beaten. This is a tough of the race. And she didn't jump very well the other day. And I remember you were tweeting me because I was going, oh my goodness, this is like the next superstar of racing, or some bombastic tweet like that. And you pull very quickly respond, but didn't she just do what we would have expected her to do. Was it really that mind-blowing? She didn't jump particularly well. She was a long odds on favorite. She should be beating that field, by the way, that she did. And I tend to agree with you. So ashur diamond would have been high on the list except for the fact that she's giving away the penalty. Lamini and Lorena did that. I could have been let's dance in arena, both carry the penalty to victory. So it's not impossible, but I love a lot of joy. And I think Paul tendon's got a rider. I think town and really wants to ride a lot of joy, and I think he will. Took her a while to get the hang of things over hurdles. She ran very well in cork on heavy ground that formers worked out okay. Deep cave be sure somehow managed to get up on the line under a power packed ride from Rachel blackmore at leopard stone at the Christmas meeting. I think she just started to tread water that day over a distance that's probably a little bit further for than ideal. She was a very good flash horse, won the Swedish saint ledger. Run two crackers on the flat as well for Willie Mullins in Galway against echoes and rain who Patrick chose and Patrick was desperate to win that race. The amateur riders handicap. She was badly drawn that day. She had a horrible draw in the Irish Cesar, which of the Cara behind waterville, who Mark and I talked about extensively. And she did amazingly well together for third that day. So she has a lot of class. She's a young horse. She's improving. She's a Camelot. And I know they're thinking of a lot of her and she did it really well the last thing. Now she was a million that aren't. She should have won the last day in one easily. But she did it really nicely. She jumps beautifully. I think she's got a lovely profile for this race. I think town end will write her, even if he doesn't, I'd still be keen, but I suspect how this is going to go as Patrick will ride Azure diamond. Paul will ride a lot of joy and Paul will win. Mark, who do you like? Oh, you two are a tough crowd.

"But that was last week, obviously, after the horse was sold to the new connections. And our things change, obviously, but I did hear that he and actually, mister McManus is very good at supporting isn't he? I know he obviously has his top people, but he's very good at supporting younger younger jockeys. Yeah, he is. And he's very fair that way. And look, amateurs have won this race. Robbie McNamara. Katie Walsh, it's an insult to goal. Jamie card and Patrick mullens amateurs. But ruby Walsh, Tom scooter Moore, Paul townend, Rachel blackmore, as professionals, like amateurs do win this race. Just depends on experience, and it's a lot of pressure on the young that. It's a lot of pressure on them. And you have to bear that in mind when you're back in them. Like, he looks a machine and he might just be way too classy and trash everything. I think the nature of the race, the way it'll pan out, the going, the stiff uphill climb, all plays into factor file strength, and he would be the one I would go with. With definitely an easy way to pick on queen's gamble, but factor file is the pick for me. Final selections in the bumper, then pull a fillet. Loving that. Brief word on better days ahead. I was very keen on him. But I haven't gone through the pedigree, jeez, that mayor has thrown out a lot of forces and they don't really do a whole lot. None of them have done it a graded level. One of them won 48 grand for Jon Jones. I think he costs like 200 K? Yeah, 145,000. They flatter. Could be that he's the different one. I wonder about the fact that Gordon Elliot is sending so many runners to this race. What does that say about his bumper crop? Because when he's won it, it's been with the only horse. He's just had the one runner. So fauna was his only representative for G one and violin, which is only representative. That used to be a thing with Willie Mullins. If he came up mob handed, forget him. If he went with one horse like champagne fever, then you'd be all over him, but maybe that's just a changing nature of the game because Gordon and Willie have so much stuck at their disposal and so much firepower that it's just getting stronger, but it is intriguing that he's only two runners came with just one runner in the race. That would worry me. So Lizzie, final section for you. I think I'm going to go with queen's gamble. Yeah, stick with her. 20s. 20s queens gamble. And factor file for me who tens of disappeared. The 11s have disappeared 7 to one as we record with bed duck, even the 8 to one just vanished. I promise you I did not vacuum. Yet, that is, yeah, right. You have got a free bet from the good folks at beta. You could do a ten pound trixie or a four pound Yankee. Trixie is three horses, Yankee is four horses. And all winnings, it's win only and all winnings go directly to the Irish injured jockeys fund. Ben, you swung for the fences on day one, and you went for other days. What are you gonna do for day two? Won't be swinging quite as well, but still, it's for sure. So you know, I'm not gonna play it safe. And again, yes, I'm going for other days. You know, just why change. So I do have one Queen mother, Edward stone, mayor's novice, ashur diamond, Albert Bartlett, sandor clayne, gold cup, brave man's game. Don't say that too loudly because you have the president of the gallop on the shop fan club here in Lizzy Kelly and I'm vice president. But I'm going to start. Yeah. Laser can down Lizzie. Lizzie put that knife down. It's just an opinion. We're all friends here. All right, we're all friends here. He's not saying that he's rubbish. He's just going for the value. Lizzie, what is your three or four horses for the backpack charity best? So I've done a bit of a mix, I've got rare edition in the supreme. I've got where is it? Oh yes, west by boa. In the mayor's hurdle. What in the name of God is going on? Yeah. I've got

"Was also an important race in the since come out on one. So I think his level of forms quite good and trauma for one 26 further down and he'd be interested in a bit of big odds but definitely in terms of he was going to win those and he got a favor the Irish really when you look at the form of the juveniles in Ireland is seen as a high bar that nobody and I think takao and so I'll go to top any shortlist. Yeah, I'm going against convention because it should be the Irish horses, but quite like a laugh style. Mainly because of his price, he's 20s represents a Paul Nichols won this race three times. He's only gone left handed over jumps once that was at haydock and that's when he bummed out, but surely that race just came too quickly. And I think that was the excuse of the day as well from the Nichols team. Prior to that, he looked really good. Bidding mammy's boy daunting, Churchill, when he beat him at muscle people started talking about him as a tribe force. Yeah, you have to get that third quick run in if he was going to. He did. So he has to get that in that way and it was his only option really. So maybe that maybe that was some sort of impact. So I actually just switched some of that. I think this race is definitely getting better. And we are seeing higher rates of winners in recent years. Say those three winners we just saw you all when the race that nice one off marks a one three 9 one three 8 one three 7, which goes to show the classes kind of the common source towards the top two of the four in this race in recent years. Yeah, and that's a key factor for worse. I'm going to talk about it in a second, but I talked about Samuel spade on Thursday's show in the handicap special. I like him an awful lot. Ben pauling has had three children winners and four in the frame from just 33 runners in the last 5 years. And he had to go into consideration for this on the back of his Huntington run. He was a long odds on for he was a million that hunting in the last day, but I liked that performance. He was really good that day. And just going through it with George Gorman the other day, George was George had remembered that differently, having worked for Gary Moore. He thought perseus way was giving way to Samuel spade. It was the other way around. Samuel spade was giving weight to perseus way. He was on 11 stones. Because it was the class of the race that he wanted to come to the first time out and then. Yeah, and the second I said that to him, he paused and just went, jeez, that's some pull of the weights. That's gonna be some turnaround when they get to Sheldon. And I wouldn't underestimate him at all, particularly coming from Ben pollings yard. I think he's a big, big player each way. Again, Percy is what he wouldn't say that in front before me run well, there are no threats in the cracker. And the thing that puts me off for a serious way is he's jumping. He made some bad mistakes. He had to, he literally had to somersault over the folder. When Robbie Dunn came down, he said to jump over that horse. But then he's made a bad mistake. He makes a mistake at the second last and he makes a bad mistake at the last. And that probably cost him the race. He might have worn otherwise. So I would, I wouldn't rule him out at all. I just, I'm concerned about his jumping over role. So Samuel spade, look, if you like perseus way, Samuel space has got to come into consideration for you. And the other one, and this goes to the racing, is bad. Now the price is gone, but he should be off a mark of one three 8. That's his French mark. But similar to Gaelic warrior last year, the BHA handicappers don't see it that way. And so he's got a mark of one 26. And Ben polling has talked about this a few times. Because he entered him in the grade two finesse juvenile hurdle at cheltenham. And then pulled him, simply because they were surprised at the mark they got. He thought about running him in the Adonis. Had him entered, was still in there quite late, took him out because they think he's too well handicapped. Not because he wasn't ready to run, and Rachel blackmore has been booked for the ride. Can't really get a better jockey than that. So there's an awful lot to like about him. He also handles soft, heavy going. He won on heavy ground in France. So soft ground is going to be no bearing to him at all. And if you just purely use the Gaelic warrior logic, if he jumps better, he wins that race last year. So if the point you were making about higher class sources are becoming more and more into this race, well then bad is thrown in off a mark of one 26 when he should be off a mark of at least one 38. Diego de shamil went on his British debut as well and not long since he arrived from France. That's right. That's right. And Kaley warrior came real close to doing it. Came really close to doing it to be sure. But that doesn't pay house mark Milligan in the likes he would back to him. So I think he's very interesting. The problem with them is the price is gone. That's the problem with what price will he be on the day? I don't know. Will he start to drift out a little bit, as people look at him more and see, he hasn't had a run yet. But I get the feeling that Ben polling is more confident about him than he is about Samuel spade. And so he has to be in the reckoning. But I'll go three. A laughed out Samuel spade and bad I'm probably going to back the three of them, the overall pick would be Samuel space. Final selections, Ben? Sir all in, or no? Yep, so I'll end. Very much in contention on my try cast as well for what it's worth. Paul. Again, quite entered with this stage. Samuel spade. Bad slash laughter. I'll go with Samuel space the overall selection. To the final race to the final race of day one, the well child national Han chase where gaya de menil had been pushed out to us against is straight back into even money with all this rainfalling. Mala mission 9 to two chemical energy 5 to one church stone warrior been taken out. That's a blow for anti post punctures, but a boost to the Gerard de meal supporters. Manila crooner of 15 to two mister coffee with darker color board is the same price there, the current odds with bed 100%, 100%. 0% commission for a hundred days. 0% commission for a hundred days, that's insane. Punish bed duck for all your worth right now and take full advantage of that, particularly with some exchanges, just all at sea, but that's there to be the voice of reason and the value in the

"Let's airbrush the whip out of the cheltenham poster. That there are none. In terms of a lot of things to tell into their in terms of Rishi sunak, it was great to see him at the staff and stable staff award stable staff and still towards words just completely failing me today. Great to see him there and offering his support to racing, but horse racing needs to be engaged with labor because inevitably there is going to be an election that government is going to fall and according to the polls, the conservatives are going to get wiped out. So what's labor's view on racing? This is an anti racing view is he's in support of it. Does he understand how important the sport is? Do labor as a party understand it in Ireland, we are facing an election sometime soon. This government simply can not hold in the way that it is being run right now and it's faced a number of scandals recently, which have rocked it and there have been no confidence motions. So at some point this government is going to fall in the not too distant future and the polling would suggest that Sinn Fein are going to walk it. And that Mary Lou McDonald will be the next T shock of the Republic of Ireland. Now, I don't have any problem with that, but I'm very concerned as a racing fan because Sinn Fein has made it pretty clear that they do not like the amount of support that horse racing gets from the Irish state. Even aside from the fact that for every Euro that is put in by the Irish government to horse racing, they're guessing €30 back. So it's a massive incentive for them to be able to support horse racing in the Republic of Ireland. And it's not like they're just subsidizing the sport for free. They're generating massive profits from it. There's a huge incentive there to support the sport. And Ireland, I'm obviously biased. Clearly, the world leaders in horse racing 8 Brian William Mullins Gordon Elliot Henry bromhead. Joseph and dunk O'Brien, Jessica Harrington. Look at the bloodstock farms that we have. Cool more colored up dollars at the late great Colorado dollar with the shadwell. You've got godolphin have a farm here. I can has a farm here. Irish national stud. We are we are really punching massively above our ways. Irish bread horses are in huge demand, Irish racing is very popular. And unlike in the United Kingdom, field sizes aren't really a problem here, but we don't race every single day. And fundamentally, I think that one of the major problems with the sport is there's just too much racing. And it appears as though they're going to tackle that and I'll circle back around to that in a second. You talked about syndicates. And why was there not a promotion of that at tracks? They'll probably argue that they don't want to be seen to be pushing one syndicate or another, but they could sell the concept of it. Like the idea that I have been in the parade ring with the David by bracing club and involved in the ownership of a horse trained by Gordon Elliott, getting to talk to Jamie card about the chances of her horse beforehand, getting to talk to Lisa O'Neill about how our horse is going to get on. Rachel blackmore riding a horse for his. That's hugely exciting. Whenever the David park racing club have a horse running, I'm very excited to see how that horse is going to get on. Noel feely's racing syndicate is hugely successful. Sam Hoskins runs two syndicates that are hugely successful. They're accessible. They're cheap to be part of in the scheme of things. And you will get access to this sport that you simply will not get just as a regular fan. And it's not going to cost you an arm and a leg, you don't have to be spending half a €1 million to get a race horse, but you could be in the parade ring with people who are like JPMorgan like Richard G and you might beat them. So that is a terrific incentive to be able to get more people involved and certainly race courses and the BHA should be pushing that great British racing. They should be pushing the idea of syndication and being involved in syndicates far greater. The BHA could also just look at what are the good things about the sport. Nikola daily podcast. The final four on podcast. William hill are producing excellent content for racing. Kevin's doing his show with Bedford. That's hugely popular and obviously he's creating good content. "Think carefully selected we'll take that. That was a huge performance in the ties chase. Doubt that some people will have a supposes that he could bounce. But surely he'd have bounced in the diastase. Now it can happen on your third run back. It was a long time ago. It was a thousand days, wasn't it? Yeah, 1022 days since the 2020 national haunt chase, which he was odds on for. Ran better than the finishing position would suggest in the paddy power and then was brilliant in the tasks and a backed stones off. Some gambler on that day. Don't be surprised if pencil full of lead turns it around. Because he might have needed that. He had also been on the track for quite some time. He'd been missing for, well, he was off for almost a year between 2021. December 2nd, 2021, and then came back literally a year later. I'd ask us where he fell against la prese last year. He's made his comeback against blue lord and ran very well under Rachel blackmore. We only been 7 and three quarter lengths. He was last, but he was only beaten 7 links by blue lord over a distance short of his best. And then on his comeback after 70 days of a break at corn park, he's run a blinder in the ties. He might get closer. But you would think the grand national is the main aim with him. So it presents a really good opportunity for carefully selected. And horses who have won the thyestes have got a pretty decent record in this race. So keep an eye on it. It'll give us some more information about the diastase on Sunday at nice the Johnstown lovers hurdle. Right now, Corbett's cross is entered to make his debut for Emmett Mullins, having been purchased by Paul Bern, just taking the step back from three miles to two miles. Or in fact, one mile, 7 and a half furlongs. Okay. If he does run, it's clearly with the view to just getting him ready for the potato race. See how he gets on. The horse that I would be I'm very intrigued to see what he does because the market ruby Walsh put him up on the road to cheltenham a few weeks ago. And ever since he did, there's just been a market move for him. He was due to run at the weekend, they pulled him out because he was coughing, big step back in trip here. We'll see how he gets on. That race that he was going to run in on the 16th of February was over three miles. This is over two. So tells you all you need to know. The most likely winner of it would be found at 50. But God, he was impressive. Dennis Regan was blown away by him. Barry was blown away by him. I was blown away by him. That was a really, really impressive performance. They expected him to go and win his bumper. On debut, he was backed into odds on favoritism under The Godfather. And he came up short on the day, but against the highly touted parmenion, he murdered him at various. Murdered him. It doesn't have an entry for the cheltenham festival unless they've thrown him in a handicap. Yeah, he's in the champion bumper, which he's no longer eligible for because he's gone over hurdles. So cheltenham not on his agenda this season, but there's more to life than the children. First of all, and found a 50 if he takes that engagement would be very, very hard to beat. And then that brings us to Saudi Arabia. Because we don't have declarations for font world for the national spirit hurdle. So let's just jump in to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi cup, 16 million pounds on offer. Who's going to win? Yeah, this is a conundrum for me because I really, really fancy bob Buffett's tiber to win this.

"See him bounce back at entry and spring grounds some of these back. It's very hard to keep going back to the world with his grandma and Harris. You know, he's you know, I don't mind the house that's not performing all season on background because when you get a bit of nice grown then produce our best effort. And I wouldn't raise him off just yet. Well, the horse who was in the process of beating him before crumpling on landing and giving the race away was hot on kaloor and he didn't exactly advertise the form either in gore and the red mills chase. You were writing a gorn that day, Dennis, Janet hill ends up winning for Rachel blackmore, terrific ride from her. Cappadona probably over a distance short of his best, giving a lot of weight away on his first run of the season, but Janet hill was second in the Ryanair last year, and he's firmly put himself in contention for that race now. Yeah, again, you wouldn't rule him out now to be placed again and it just, you know, you need something. He needs something special, don't you? To win the chasm and tell you a very good ride the other day and go right back to the right coverage in any kind of just read some comments afterward Willie said that he was expecting to need the run, you know, so you might improve again. Who performance though? He's a good horse, isn't he? But just, he's a bit under the picked areas camp, I think, is more written. I think you're on a huge race, but just might just might just fall a little bit short and it's just so hard to see beyond shishkin because we know he's called the unbelievable amount of ability already and we know in order to try to Susan it's actually publicly played to his friends. I mean, firstly, can I just say because I just mentioned aloho, absolutely gutted. The alejo is out of cheltenham. I am so glad. It's sickening. Yeah, but obviously leaves the race wide open. So that too is exciting, but yeah, anyway. Yeah, like I said, finish second behind all the close El Dorado island. A good horse. I think it probably win this one. And I've not written much else, just excited. Moving forward after this for Chapman and seeing where they all go. This is only a 5 runner field, isn't it? Yeah, just a 5 runners. I mean, look, we bash British racing quite a bit about small fields and yet here we are with a small field of this one. At least it's a small field of quality though. Yeah. I'm sure he'll improve for this race, and it is a distance short of his best. And he's having to give away the grade one penalty. But 5 to one about Capitol Hill seems fair. That seems reasonable to me. And I have been looking forward to this fellow coming back out. And he is in the gold cup. He's in the grand national as well. He'd need to absolutely bowled up. To become a serious goal cup contender, but this is a winnable race. It's a very winnable race. If hot on color is able to replicate what he did in the kinlough brais slash the horse and jockey, essentially the last day. If he's able to replicate that without the mistake of the last. Then your winner is that horse. But capitano is waited one 60. He's literally 5 pounds better than him. And while he's giving the weight away, William monsour isn't going to want, isn't going to be struggling for fitness in the first round of the season, so I think from a value proposition outside with. I thought last month, down royal and in a small field race where there's question marks about the favorite and question marks but the second favorite, I will go with Denis Oregon and doctor bravo. I'll take a swing at him and hopefully he can run a big, big race here. And I think he can win it. I think this is gettable. If Sharjah is charged up, then he'll bolt up. But I'm not so sure that he still is. Red mills chase. Surely hot on Claire will be throwing his hat into the Rhine in a ring in the absence of a laho. We do have betting for this race a bet that go 11 to ten about Paul towned and Willie Mullins who tries to rectify that mistake in the kinlough braid the last day and horses who ran the kid like brave got a good record in this. Janet ill for the William ones bandwagon 11 to four Rachel blackmore on board, Capp Dano for that man Willie Mullins comes back after first run since punches ten and he could throw his hat late into the ring for the gold cup 5 to one shot at could have gone for the red mills hurdle goes for this instead for Joseph O'Brien, 9 to two with beta and it's 33 to one about battle over doyen for Gordon Elliott is if Holton color jumps around is he going to be in the right picture after this race. Mark Milligan. Yeah, I think he is. We'd be talking about him as Orion our content that now if he stood up last time, look, hot on color, he's taken a while to put it all together in the jumping department, hasn't he? But he's only 6 year old and to be fair to him. He didn't do anything wrong last time. He actually jumped the last if you go back and look at the video by the actually jumps the last quite well. And he just kind of knuckles on landing, doesn't he? He's almost like galloping. Yeah. So I think look, for me, he's finally putting it all together. Some people will be a little bit reticent to side with him given that he fell last time and he's jumping hasn't been all that fluent since he first went over fences. But that was a much, much better round of jumping last time. I think he was just unlucky more than anything to come down when he did. Pugh she she is with me and my first real encounter with was during the town festival and she was a huge boss of fasten. Organizing assitance gauges the basically guessing movie irish staff over that and everyone to do it in a safe. Mata so she i have so much respect school And the whole operation who managed to figure that out. It wasn't as though. Because i know that those kind of debates this on sunday the weekend people. I mean nate. Lock himself made the point to say. Well that's the nature of being self employed. So you know a white conti. Just take days off and things like that. But it's it serbia on that because people do not realise unless you read the whiffs a junkie. Oh you all one or you have a family member. Who's gone the hours. It's not as they just turn but the races they ride however many who says they are up half five six o'clock every single morning if not earlier driving today are not getting paid to ride outs. Back to ride out at these yards and ninety percent of the time they will not be paid for that and he's just considered a sponsor job then to driving and karen yesterday when to pass and back in one day for one rush. How far is that just just for context as ours cheese. Yes they sixteen hour around Yeah i do eight hours there. Eight hours back. Yeah yeah it's it's ridiculous. He did that in a day. That's just considered normal. People people forget all of these things and how long it actually takes to get to these places and you know that's all Cost efficient. What maybe eight may was about six tacoma them anywhere but it's it's it's ridiculous and then getting up whatever time at night off again in the next morning see the same thing but you cannot just take a day off for the jockey because if you take a day off it doesn't go down well with the trae note doesn't go down well with an owner. If you liberty saying i'm not gonna ride you'll stay because i just want to break out. Does not the way that racing is programs to walk. It's things right or wrong. It's not the way it's currently program to and if you're fat hose then you basically lose ride on holes could win that day if it doesn't win you've probably lost the ride in any way as you're in the bad books of the trainer of the it's a huge honor for basically say and do the freezing road a ball christmas day We had a week break than the sandown and straight back into may was insane. How easy it was this week. So busy again and i mean last year before covid struck. It was the first time it was actually meant to be a two week break entire break and that was thanks to abbot new. Snap it with the ernie reyes cool. Who moved the only race school who agreed to the pj asking for more freedom. So i have so much respect over lot state for new snob full wanting to do that. None of the race goes is one inch. Yeah it needs to be based whole collective rather than racecourses betting conference as such strike just being single minded but but even in ireland's lazar. They were losing out on the racing because they just made it. So the you know the more experienced top level. That's not very condescending. Today's who was still riding But the more experience jockey's one too loud so the conditions of the race meant that you'd have already assessed under assessed amounts of winners. Could you ride in the race. Oh the betting turnover is still the race for us is still getting the racing on the meteorites. Still after the race as the host is still able to run. But it's forcing the hand of those jockeys to actually have some time off and it gives more opportunities than to the right over unless one is to actually get a win. is that without. Likes of rachel blackmore. Whoever coming in the and At winning those races so it was just a genius idea. And i just wish and we've really good i mean yeah the the pj here. I just wish there was more a voice to say. You know this this. Why isn't as easy to make out. I don't wanna preach. I won't i behave. They do it for the love. The 'cause they get into it because of that but at some point it takes a toll on the on the mind this job and everone break at some point. I don't think asking two weeks. A year is asking for that much rainy so to clarify and you did a good job showing up something that up but this is no no is excellent. This is an irish initiative. will begin From the first of july. You're sorry you're not allowed to ride into the first. July applies to any jockey who has ridden fifteen winners or more. Yeah so as you said. It's giving you're not stopping racing racing continues but you're giving opportunities to younger women and younger men or maybe even jockeys who are very experienced but don't get the the amount of that they show it on the opportunities that they should so. I think it's brilliant. Meanwhile we have are asking for more racing in here. I said jesus. Christ read the room like everybody else in british racing like the horsemen's group and liam liam leonardo said as usual wrote about this and wrote brilliantly abetted saying In the racing post last week that the horsemen's group or not happy about this but.

Sporting occasion is controversial but fascinating to watch. It often occurs masters weekend as well which is very interesting as well. It too great. Sporting events together But it is graham national day they had a virtual grand national that was based around statistics and computer generated Horse race last year. That was very interesting as well looking at the form and putting the form which horses prefer the good to soft ground or ground and everything else but the grand national is a national hunt race which is run left handed over four miles. That's two and a half the longest for the people at their four miles and five hundred and fourteen yards over thirty fences. Few eight hundred surround want to four ALU tired hides a BS five point five which is nine to two and did eleven or ten into one in running which again until surprise me to be honest. I mean our plutarch's the youngest one in the race I suppose the kind of almost forgot how amazing and I wrote Shetland. Moore's last time I if I was looking at the shotgun slot ruin it. They last year obviously young harsh on in the champion Bumper Cheltenham. Blue Saturday. He'd already disbands. We may talk about emily and so some slightly stain season going on now William owners now some of them just come back to check on Bush lost some of them. You could argue are are needing to run a little bit. That would not be the usually it would win over the years so I was bit. Negatively is the bubble burst Chakma Shaw possibly reports this and he don't have a sort of an impossibly high salen after punches. Tony he destroyed. Not just was a brilliant performance and dig a statement another step forward. I was very good on the clock as what trainer comments can always be open to interpretation. And that's something that Mara was referencing in our bonus. Bonus betting special podcast. which if you haven't listened to strongly recommend that you do that? He often takes trainer comments with a pinch of salt and he's more interested in just doing his own form work and coming up to his own conclusions. The initial plan was Ryanair. That was what they were. They were staging they were going to do. And of course. That's the distance that he the handicapped children last year. But Roy was putting the source up as a big price for the champion chase at the start of the season and you have jost post given him a little bit more encouragement. And when you look at the current Marcus like does a question mark over your deputy Sawyer is coming through and has looked very good. He's passed every test so far. But there's probably going to need a little bit more
