Mookie Betts makes history with another 3-home run game

"So mookie betts last. Night Raby. Three homers Ford does in a game for the sixth time in his career Johnny. Sammy Sosa the only other players do that and movie didn't in a thousand fewer games basically in Mayes and fifteen hundred fewer than So when you look our call you red sox fan but you grew up there for goodness sakes and you see mookie bats, the red sox traded away it off to a start like this and avenue another three homer game. What do you think? Well I. Think it happens on the same day that the red sox give up seventeen runs and look at a single late in the Celtics and Bruins I think both lost and the Patriots are going to start a season without Tom Brady I think this is I think this is a reminder of the come up in Boston sports fans are are about to have to deal with and the next few years now I mean look it's It's a tough pill to swallow for red SOx nation to know that. One of the transformational players of his generation in an era when Mike Trout is playing mu batches is going to be in the conversation. You know there's there's a Jack Nicklaus Arnold. Palmer. Gary Player. There's the Tiger Woods Phil. Mickelson for Awhile, David Duval conversation. I, mean my child's GonNa. Have you know mookie Betts in Clayton Kershaw and that's what this group is going to be about and to know that he was once part of your franchise and now he's not and a franchise paid him a lot of money and you believe your franchise and was capable of doing the same. For those that are moving in dying with the Red Sox I know it sucks. It really really does it's It's just a it's just a reminder and he's got to be that guy we all grew up with them that. Whatever he does he does to a level that few others can do it. So the three six times you know that's the same guy that has four. That's the same guy that bowls three hundred games. He does those things and and there'll be no surprise. You know when he wins more world series wins MVP's that's that guy he's the guy we all grew up with he's just doing it at the highest athletic level.

"For Chris Raby Tom Ackerman this year I've been refreshing ESPN on my browser all day and for the whole day there's not been one story on the front page of ESPN dot com about Major League Baseball which is sad really it's just kind of set now that doesn't mean that we're not gonna get news Tom but good lord what was it two weeks ago you had mo on that Sunday show and he said we we better get something soon and that was fifteen days ago yeah I had someone text me today they said I thought it was supposed to be this week well it it might be this week it might of it last week it might be next week we don't know what baseball is going to get themselves together although a lot of reports have come out today including Bob Nightengale of USA today who said that MLB and the MLBPA or trying to see if they can get an agreement together here last minute a sixty game season is what has been proposed by the owners the players want seventy games if they don't come to an agreement what does that mean will rob Manfred the commissioner go ahead and just implemented games a season of say fifty four to sixty games somewhere in that range on his own we don't know what that is with the executive board of the players union scheduled a meeting for this afternoon to discuss the sixty game proposal will wait and see what comes out of that the biggest news today was the NASCAR race at Talladega and Bubba Wallace has received a big show support so this race has begun fellow drivers however before hand made the news they lined up and pushed his car to the front of pit road in a show of solidarity today this move coming a day after a crew member of Wallace's found a noose in his garage stall Bubba Wallace the only full time black driver in the top NASCAR series the Cup series two weeks ago he pushed NASCAR to ban the Confederate flag at its facilities and he was successful in doing so now the FBI is involved in this investigation of the noose found in his garage stall the president of NASCAR Steve Phelps says security has been stepped up for Wallace sense that noose was found and today again every driver showed solidarity for Bubba Wallace who says that that new spot is garage will not break him also in the news today in hockey Chris Thorburn the tough guy for the Stanley Cup champion St Louis blues has announced his retirement playing more than eight hundred NHL game since two thousand fives with his last time on the ice raising the cop that's pretty good fact he was one of the first people to raise the cop as it went his way from Alex Pietrangelo too J. Bowman Easter to Chris Thorburn as they made sure they it took care of seniority and that way some of the blues actually starting to get out on the ice today in this phase two of the NHL re opening Vladimir Tarasenko among those skating at Centene community ice center today cardinal baseball and cable X. tonight six fifteen what the pre game of the two thousand twelve wild card game between the cardinals and the Braves wise that game so significant just ask any Braves fan it was absolutely nuts when the infield fly rule was called on the Braves and out was called debris came on the field a twenty minute delay it was an ugly scene you'll hear it tonight on KMOX beginning at six fifteen on the home of the cardinals cable access you know I I talk about this time a little bit earlier a couple times in relation to Bubba Wallace that scene at that track was was really amazing and what I'm about to say I want to be misunderstood in any way shape or form so let me put a cabbie out I'm not saying what I'm about to I'm not saying this is a in any way shape or form potentially ajustes fallout situation where somebody fake this however there's just something about this that's that's strange to me in the sense that there's been no pictures of the noose not saying it didn't happen but what I think you have to watch for a story like this there were cameras everywhere they're going to find whoever did this I mean I'd be shocked if they didn't so I there's just something about it that doesn't seem right at this point maybe it's just me it probably is just me well I will say this that an investigation is under way into the high security area like that where it's very difficult for anyone to get into a garage there has to be something that they can find it's very dignified able to get in there but but in in my opinion whether it happened or not whether anything happened or not I love the solidarity for Bubba Wallace for what it means and for what he goes through and for being on that circuit and for what he pushes forward whether something like that happen is garage yesterday today or tomorrow is awful that's still a great job by NASCAR to come together today and put together an amazing video and picture that will stand for a long time hi Tom he's back at four forty five and again I all I'm saying is that you know this is unusual circumstances it's a horrific situation and in the end I I do think they're going to find out the truth here what the truth is I don't know what that means and hopefully gonna find the person who did this Tom is back like I said for forty five I came like this for twenty five for traffic and weather together captain Roger Brandon Michaels flowing out dot com traffic center you know mark a an corolla did a a good documentary on the racer on a **** T..

"This morning we check with Chris Raby and discuss his documentary on the two thousand eleven World Series right now Somers joins us from pi pizza is the pizza that president Barack Obama said was his favorite and of course we know president Obama his family are from Chicago so that is saying a lot Chris good morning how are you good morning Charlie thanks for having me and you know Amy Amy Chris Hey Chris I love your pizza bar thank you I appreciate that means a lot really I think she speaks for a lot of people in our area and beyond well Chris I was really astounded when I heard in the news this morning you said that restaurants are required to buy their I'll call from a certain few vendors as opposed to going on the open market I thought what yeah that's a little known secret that really hamstrings all of us it's called the three tier system and it means that there's a manufacturer there is a distributor and then there is not a restaurant or liquor store or grocery store and we are forced to buy liquor from those distributors and only one distributor can carry a particular brand of alcohol or spirit so yeah we are mandated so there's a bunch of different hands making money in that but now the the bugaboo the crazy part is that any of these distributors want to tell us restaurants who and how we can sell the product that we're forced to buy from so it's kind of crazy to think that a lot of free market folks capitalism guys I think that this is okay in some how this is reflective of their larger world view when in fact it's it's not at all if they were free markets would be able to buy it from whoever sold it cheapest and we could sell it however we want it what is the argument for the three tier system it's just one that keeps lobbyist in profits in place you know maybe they think they're some more control because liquor is you know if you're somewhat of a controlled substance but really it's it's not it's just about keeping entrenched interests further entrenched in it you know same thing that happened with the task and although the auto dealerships they have a three tier system as well and you know test was doing very well selling their cars directly to consumers in the auto dealers didn't like it so well now in let's say the county if you have a restaurant you want to buy beer or let's say it's in highs are bush do you have to buy it from grey eagle and in the city if you want to buy in as a bush at a restaurant there do you have to buy it from war yes one hundred percent so it may be a lot cheaper for us if we could go to Sam's or Costco and buy it but we can't so we have to buy it from grey eagle or one more you know now that does seem truth be told us he was very antiquated yes yes and it's been fought I mean there are actually states that have a four tier system in in Maryland you actually have to buy it from the government who buys it from the distributor so then they manufacture sell the two distributor which sells it to the county of Montgomery County who then sells it to the restaurant and they know that so screwed up but they make so much money from it that they they can't let it go but it's it's it's similar I mean there's just the fact that you have people getting paid to to enforce this is lobbyists to for big you know choice and in free markets and you know many of the political leanings of those people who want to keep this in place are contradictory and hypocritical to the very nature of this arrangement well how how's pi pizza doing right now you know we are fortunate to be doing moderately well with the the carry out business that we're doing and and limited delivery that we're doing we're super grateful for those who are supporting us and you know that the biggest challenge is going to be what happens next you know my downtown stores are going to be the hardest hit because in every restaurant in any downtown across the country because those are gonna be the last places to rebound so it's working right now is fine but we're like it's very eerie because we know this isn't real life and the next eighteen months R. what scare us the most because it's not there's not going to be a switch that swept and everything gets back to normal so you know all of us are in bed with you know large restaurants brick and mortars that you know accommodate a hundred seats are more and more you know have lease agreements that reflect that level of business and you know we're not going to be back there anytime soon whether people like it or not I've more than anybody would love to be back there but you know the science and the reality of increasing cases of this and what's likely to happen in the fall means that conventions are going to be canceled sporting events are going to be cancelled you know through twenty twenty one so press we're not we're not optimistic but we're grateful for the support that we have right now are your employees making more money in many cases by being furloughed or laid off you know there's probably a a few people who are but we're bringing people back is is quickly as we can most of what we find is that you know a lot of people enjoyed a little bit of a break and they enjoyed you know being able to be home with their families and be safe but most of them are really eager to get back to work and they know too that those those benefits are going to expire soon and you know the that the tipped employees now you know our guests have been really generous with them so they're they're making decent money now back at work blur I've been very kind and we appreciate that so I think there's probably a few isolated cases of that but more and more so what I'm hearing is that I want to work I'm gonna be safe you know there's a vulnerable population out there may be people who would be best to stay home and and collect that unemployment but by and large human nature is that people want to be feeling that use in feeling the part of you know an economy and and that were seen at our operations a final question perhaps do you think that cocktails to go should be a permanent part of the Missouri restaurant scene yeah I mean to my point earlier absolutely in its last actually safer to of people gonna go out and order a pizza why not allow them to pick up a little alcohol at that time rather than you know subject themselves to another visit to a grocery store other place to that they have to stop it it's safe it's reasonable and for those to say anything else I think is really just a serving some self interest like those those lobbyists for the at the wholesale distributors Chris summers pi pizza thank you so much for take your phone call again on KMOX thank you for the opportunity bye guys absolutely Hey Mister summers joined us this morning on the TV K. technologies gas line and in just a moment where to put Chris radion it he'll talk about his special looking at the two thousand eleven World Series my goodness very aggressive pricing going on right now at Saint Charles Nissan the only Nissan dealer affected by on March twenty sixth hail storm it was kind of a microburst where the hail hit the St Charles Nissan parking lot and it was pretty bad for the dealership there but it's good news for you if you're searching for a new car because now with minimal damage I mean minimal you can't even see it with the naked eye I mean you need a magnifying glass to see some of these scratches they are so small that you can get thousands of dollars off of M. S. R. P. so hurry in now for this amazing hail sale hundreds of cars in a parking lot by the way the quarantine I guess is the word of the day all these cars in one location so they're all in one Hey all parking lot so you can walk from one to the other and did I mention that there's never been a better time to buy a Nissan at this operation which is family owned and operated.

"Chris Raby at four fifteen at the new ball BMW Toyota sports as we were talking about the last dance quite a bit you see the story those got the name of Chris bangle who posted this on CBS sports about an hour ago about Brooks KEPCO trash talking am J. on the golf course you know about this no filming is awesome I know that Brooks plays with Jordan down in Jupiter sometimes apparently he he told Scott van pelt this and I don't have the audio right now but I'll tell you the story so they were heading to win ninety well I just saw it through the seventeenth and eighteenth hole during their round he doesn't say where this was kept his up one on probably Jordan heading into those holes and he says to L. M. J. as they're walking to the tee at seventeen and he says look it might be the second time I've ever played with him it was me him there were few other guys whatever it was that was one up going to seventeen we've been John all day we have like a forty yard walk back to the seventeenth tee he hasn't said much the last couple holes I've kind of taken them and I'm walking back and I say something like I've got you right where I want you any tea is the ball up he takes is practice when he looks at me he goes it's the fourth quarter baby I don't lose and sure enough cap got lost seventeen and eighteen eighty so that's the last time he's ever talk smack to him which is a great story that's unbelievable and you know the biggest thing is I think watching the documentary but not only that but hearing all of these mark like little peripheral stories come out it's incredible that that's just to Jordan was he never wanted to lose anything there's a story that in Chicago they had a ping pong table at the training facility and I don't believe this is in the documentary at he played ping pong against one of the assistant coaches want after practice and lost and then he went home bought a ping pong table and practice nonstop for the next month came back to the facility and then didn't lose at ping pong again for the next you know the rest of his career it's just that's the way that he's wired and that's the way that he went about stuff I suppose I guess I I knew is pretty good golfer but it I guess is a scratch golfer he was when he was playing Brooks he yeah is it well yeah I heard he was gonna couple pops but yeah he's a he's a heck of a player not only that but I don't think anything Raz's him like if you're playing for like a hundred Bucks or fifty Bucks or thousand boxer like not like what's gonna phase Michael Jordan he's Michael Jordan so he probably doesn't get intimidated very often but at that's pretty good that's perhaps a great story though I'm gonna use that trash talk with you the next time we are out on the golf course together do it I welcome it well get ready for game two of the World Series tonight cardinals winners last night over the Texas Rangers a twenty eleven replay continue six fifteen I've got Ammon total access join me before game two of the twenty eleven World Series will hear from Alan Craig on pregame just had a great chat with Alan he was a hero last night as he drove in the go ahead run for the cardinals as they beat the Rangers at Busch Stadium six.

"To Chris Raby tonight we have game one of the twenty eleven at World Series the cardinals and the Texas Rangers as R. twenty eleven rewind continues on cable lacks last night we are game six of the NLCS the cardinals beat the brewers twelve to six to advance to the World Series the following day John Mozeliak joined camel accent gave his impressions of the Texas Rangers a couple of days before the World Series got under way I think from a line of standpoint they're very similar to us ET in the sense of their offenses this is this is huge potential I can go out and and and produce crooked numbers left rights such as well so you got to be careful of their bullpen obviously was used like ours and and had similar successes so to me those are some of that we have to be prepared for but I think you know it's gonna be exciting I have no idea how to really handicap in terms of head to head or anything of that nature is because we just we rarely see them yeah and so yeah I think it's every year great for baseball because it's not too common that that the Texas Rangers in the St Louis cardinals match up so it'll be fun six fifteen tonight M. and total access six twenty five the first pitch cardinals and Rangers game one of the twenty eleven World Series Chris carpenter on the mound against CJ Wilson meanwhile in twenty twenty we continue to wait to see if we'll play baseball this year I chatted with cardinals chairman bill dewitt junior yesterday and he said he's more optimistic that he was perhaps a few weeks ago I think there's a good chance that will end up playing baseball this season at some point don't know don't know exactly when obviously there are a lot of hurdles to get over we certainly want to do it in a safe manner probably a nationally and could be the whole season for that matter would be without fans but you know when we.

"Let's talk sports with Chris Raby sitting down right now the people B. M. W. Toyota sports desk yeah thanks mark we talked on our last update about the cardinals speed among the Major League Baseball teams that will pay full time employees through may thirty first Jeff Passan of ESPN first reporting that the majority of major league clubs were doing so earlier this week I chatted with cardinals president of baseball operations John was a lock today about a variety of topics including the decision the club made to pay their full time employees so build where Billy to wet myself you know we've had a lot of different strategic meetings on on what that looks like but all employees all full time cardinal please know that they're being paid through may thirty first so that's good news in terms of of what June July look like we were we were really just trying to be patient trying to learn more of what actually the season may or may not look like but you know look we're we are all lucky to have the ownership group we have been you know certainly if we can continue to do things that make sense we we will try it but on the good news is we are through may thirty first was a lock saying that the last couple of weeks have been fairly quiet for his staff but offered some insight into what they've been doing yeah for the most part most of my staff it's it's fairly quiet right there's not a lot being required from them on on a day to day standpoint I think from the major league side we are still trying to keep those touch points with our players are not only from just a communication end of things but also trying to to make sure that we were following them from a medical standpoint so there there are some people on that side of of of the business that are actively working and as you can imagine we're still preparing for draft so the scallops or having to to adjust adapt video scouting because that's all we have but that group is is moving forward and then our our baseball development group and that's a lot of the analytic side of the business they are they're pushing ahead on projects that you know normally always got pushed off to the side but since we don't have our day to day it really been given the freedom to start tackling some of those are some of the innovations and and and and software projects that we just haven't gotten to so that so that groups all moving and then of course as you can imagine with no minor leagues active right now player development is this is almost a dormant state but you know we're trying to just keep everybody engaged as best we can so you know we redefined that communication tree to some level but for the most part he won the baseball side it's pretty quiet more from my it came O. X. dot com we're getting ready for R. twenty eleven rewind that comes.

"Back in the cardinals content opening day presented by amber alongside Mike Claiborne I'm Chris Raby a lot of looks at cardinals prospects and perhaps none more exciting than our next guest as we head back over to Mike Claiborne dealing Karlsson is our guest in first of all a week in the books now for you in the big league camp what's it been like and give me your thoughts on how things have gone it's been great you know we've been learned a lot working hard and the guys really begin after it's it's been a great experience so far I see where you sit in the club house is a unique spot I mean a rookie normally doesn't sit on that side of the the clubhouse very often use in around a lot of veterans on this on that team so tell me what you've been able to learn from them it's been great I'm right next to leaders and he's just been great ease and you know joking with me and you know we've been able to relate a lot as far as talking about switch and how he prepares for games just you know being able lean on someone in there and not only him you know everyone in that clubhouse it's been a really great and I've been really thankful and how how willing they are to share advice and you know just be able to pass along their past experiences talk about the at bats this week I mean you obviously we've gotten off to a good start what was your approach coming into the spring about how you were going to deal with this I don't I'm sure they told every opportunity I got whether it was starting coming off the bench I just wonder show them you know not to play the game and you know I can get it done so for me it's just been understanding the process and trying to you know be best prepared for any situation I'm put in you know I watch you in the club house to watch you use you ask a lot of questions you you kind of like a sponge and I'm sure even coming up in a baseball family so to say there's always some you can learn about the game so what have you learned so far at the big league level so for me just I'm a big question Asker I just I really feel like that's the way to you know help you help myself get better every day so for example like a question I'd ask so with leaders I'd ask him you know how he approaches which ending you know does he take an equal amount of reps does he just and then I guess the same thing to dexter and see you know if their answers are similar how much it relates to me and then you know if I like something I'll try it out and you know that it's just it's just been really cool to be able to have guys in there you know I I'll even go to Willie because he switches so I mean it's just so so many different options in there where I I have been able to go to and it's been really incredible what is your approach is switching because that's something we don't talk a lot about because you go to see a lot more right handed pitchers but don't forget yours which is so you need to turn around from time to time so what is your approach as far as how many swings you won again so for me I try to make it pretty cool but you know find no I'm not going to necessarily get right handed at bats that day I'll probably do more work off the machine that way I'm still working at game speed in my opinion so for me you know maybe a little bit more machine work ready than lefty but I still try to get nickel number of swings I watch you the other day you had a triple and I thought the reason why you got the triple was because you cut those corners so well on the basis of seeing guys find themselves running on the grass as they make their mark hunter.

Interview with John Nunemaker About His Developer Career

"So John. What is your developer origin story yeah yeah what the basically the way it started as. I always enjoyed math and stuff like that in high school going way back and when I went to college I just started. I kind of assumed like there was some computer stuff going on so this was two thousand and two thousand four and a lot of stuff was was happening opening that seemed exciting and at the Ogden programming so I took some programming classes the first one I think was visual basic and I did well in the the class didn't really feel like I learned anything and then I took another class next semester that was see and the teacher was in my my opinion back then then it was hard core so it was like we were on Lenox. We learn how to compile. We were doing you know see and even some Pearl. I think also and I remember you're right out of the gate struggling big time I basically had not I basically learned how to program in the first class and so I I spent every office hours for the entire semester and pull my Grad from like an F. Which I had never had my entire life about three weeks into I think I ended up with like a b. Minus so ended up kind of getting the hang of it and and progressing then my senior year it would have been the end of my junior year. They had this major class where you could take one class for entire month and I was all you did so it was like really intensive three or four hours a day and I took a web job in like Photoshop class and absolutely love because it took the stuff that was cool programming. I enjoyed making Gregorian calendars and things like that but it being able to put it on the Internet and then instantly like have my mom was kind of next level and so I think that's from then on basically I've been hooked on the web so the next semester I took independent study in PHP and my sequel build a little bed and breakfast website and and then kind of fell into my first job and then fell into my second job small consultancies and stuff like that just cranking out websites and then I think from there ended up at Notre Dame and got to University of Notre Dame got to learn a lot of really good things in work around great team and Matt eventually who become kind of my co-founder at ordered list Steve Smith and and with the two of us hit it off. He was Kinda Front End. I was kind of back end and we both enjoyed our our parts and so I ended up leaving Notre Dame and joining him and then the rest of it you kind of mentioned where we went to build some stuff and eventually ended up at at hub so I think that's kind of where it started from me so it's basically like two thousand three two thousand four kind of got into some web stuff absolutely loved it and did nothing. I mean my entire twenty s were like way too much time with my sequel and that eventually into like ruby on rails and stuff like that was ordered list building ruby and ruby on rails yeah so we when and he went Steve and I were still at Notre Dame we built the content management system that we call conductor because conductor had an NDA and it was conducting inducting websites. We were very smart all the names we probably took all all the vowels out because that was when you know flicker and all those didn't have have bowel so that was probably it probably didn't have vowels either but basically we were like. We're going to build this in rails. It's going to be awesome and like I remember Notre. Dame was very against at the time against new technologies and so we kind of just did it. We paid for out of our departments funds instead of using like a general. It stuff like that and it was on rails and then when I joined ordered last I mean we were consultants basically but or list inc but what we did right away we knew long-term we wanted to be in products and so we started started harmony which was basically like we rebuilt conductor from the ground up as a way to make it faster for us to ship websites for clients basically and so that's kind of yeah so it was all all ruby on rails stuff so awesome will the next question I have for you is really kind of a two parter so first of all. I'd love to hear about box South Sports. What is that yeah so box out sports I just joined in January and what that is is it's basically we hope mostly college sports and now kind of delving into high school as well with their social media presence and so basically any kind of info graphic or game game update half and of Quarter player the game interesting stats quotes all the stuff that if you are on instagram lot you'll see it all over. ESPN bleacher report those kinds of things infographics huge on facebook and instagram sell the company started maybe five years ago and and it's again with Steve Smith and then with two other guys Raby lightfoot and Jeff Myers. Neither of them are programmers but the four of us are all in now and basically they. They started it. Maybe three or four years ago and I just joined and it's going really well. a lot of good saturation in College a lot of college sports use us for just updating on. Here's here's how all the Games are going for all their teams James Volleyball Men's and women's football soccer basketball baseball softball everything that you can kind of imagine we have different graphic packages packages for as really similar. I was talked to Steve. About how similar it is to harmony harmony was basically this like template and data's system where a developer would like like create this template and then that from that template we derive like a pretty form to show a contact person so they didn't have to worry about html and CSS and where things will go and just made it really easy for them to put it in and this infographics thing the exact same thing. It's basically like this template system where a developer primarily Japhet box out will create these templates and they have what what's what are the data inputs that we need and then when a sports information director her or someone who's athletics or a student worker whose at a game is doing an update they don't have to think about like what's our branding look like does this is this designed find well or any of that kind of stuff they have these stock templates they just fill in the data and then they get beautiful graphics to share just a a really simple way to like you know defined templates and end up with with Japex and PNG's and actually uses electron on the back end for some of the rendering and stuff like that which is kind of cool too.

The UN support mission in Libya, in a statement issued amid intensifying conflicts in and around Tripoli instigated by forces, loyal to general Kelly after on the fourth of April on smell reported that a compound that was hit by an S strike had been used by members of Libya's UN recognized government. In addition, the mission expressed serious concern at the reported kidnapping of a member of the high council of state from the cast. Egypt on track to reduce food loss and waste by 50 per cent in five years: FAO

"This is Matt wells at you and us about one third of all food, which has grown in the Middle East and North Africa is lost or wasted. According to the UN food and Agriculture Organization FAO in Egypt that adds up to an estimated fifty kilograms of food per person per year. According to you and figures most of this food lost from the farm to the table rather than wasted at the consumer level that results in loss of nutrition, which is alarming for a country, which is facing already. High levels of malnutrition says the agency governments in the region have pledged to reduce food loss and waste by fifty percents by twenty twenty four and FAO along with the Italian government is training farmers and wholesalers to reduce food loss and ensure greater food security as a nice Houghton reports from Egypt downtown kale. The Bill is full market is high of activity hundreds of tomatoes accurately stacked in foot. Creates ahead of men assessing the process the seller bacon. Them to make a bit daft, plenty of tomatoes to go around after Egypt is a major producer of tomatoes. But for every one thousand kilograms of tomatoes produced industry did in Egypt five hundred and sixty grams is lost a wasted. That's more than half new production, huge amount of food that would otherwise be available for consumption. Engine rule. Two thirds of all food laws in ways happens during them food production and distribution stages. The resents behind his losses wrench from inefficient food production to poor technologies and infrastructure. Infamous major producer of grapes. Q? Good them any in Michelle. Yeah. Yes. Stella mussa. He's an expert on grape cotija at a fait. Would I be an shackling be good the Nala ally? Farmers fist many problems that result in grip losses. For example. The groups might develop problems that only appear at harvesting things such as tightly compressed clusters of grapes as a result of rotting moldy, and this color, grapes, or grapes with the wrong sugar, content or size are all causes of creep loss. That's why if you is helping to build to food processing units in northern Egypt in Bangalore and Suker Antigua dare it trends cooperative in grip handling processing in distribution practices as well. As order I control methods. Title. We tried to identify the weak spots in the grip food production chain that resulting these losses as fuck. Fuck the training scheme. Also has long-term goals has after the initial training. We need a recommendations that as many farmers as possible could exit the train. So what followed was a course in training. The trainers about twenty five agriculture engineers in the region were trained and the now continue to train other farmers in the region spreading the knowledge foreign light. Greg Raby took part in one of FAO's training courses, learner, talent amusement. Madonna lynton. Was. The forty three year hold grapegrower leans in the village of Tiba about one hundred kilometers northwest of Cairo's should be enter recently. He was struggling to make ends meet. But he says his learned a lot I learned to avoid overthrows -ation by using the right amount of risers. We avoided losses on the farm. I also learn about proper method of spring and recommended amount to use depending on the condition of the vine another thing I learned was how to kick rates properly and how to get the right grape sites. The sugar any plans to pass on this knowledge to other farmers in his community. I want to transfer the knowledge I've learned to others, for example, you might find educated farmer with the specific concerns, I can advise him. If I see him doing something wrong on his farm or Ciprian incorrectly at can guide him with what I know what I've learned. That food production may toads are not the only coast for food loss in there. Also economic factors explaining food loss such as price fluctuations. Mafuta runs the business that manages our cure waste. He buys to maters from syndrome to may to cooperate is setup by FAO. The market price for tomatoes is lower than the cost of harvesting them. Farmers won't harvest tomatoes. So they lose a large amount of produce. This has a significant impact on smallholder farmers who not only dominate Egypt's would production, but also accounts for last portion of the country's poor which is thirty five percents of the population of how. So we try to have farmers to use losses by setting price levels. We say if the market price of tomatoes falls below one Egyptian pound per kilo than tomatoes have to be dried. If the price is more than one pound day can sell them on the market. Another bonus is that when the price of a product is fixed to farmers end up producing good quality produce because they are sure that their production costs will be covered. And that they will not have any losses. We tell you. A few plans to build the syndrome to me to facility in Bongo soco in other facilities, specialized Indra in grapes is currently under construction into Nubia area. It's hoped that these two initiatives more farmers like Greg grow Raby can help reduce food loss in waste energy. And at the same time boost their livelihoods.

"It we doing it right now that the shoe's on the other foot the doj and dni are also again with this will be like this also has a lot of sense of information and they're saying oh well we don't wanna fuck anything up so we we should really reconsider this is a very sensitive document it's just like the selective outrages i guess isn't surprising it raby expected so basically now there's like four options someone can you'll low it on the floor and just read the shit out loud on entered into record which technically is an illegal but would just be kind of weird rod they could kill the thanked completely and just not do it but i don't think that'll happen the house could vote to override the president okay all ronald do that and or they can redacted and released a memo like they did a republican one that seems like that last option could be the one whit redacted like the republican ammoniac it it it reduction it from the republican my mother nokia they did sort of relent and then redact certain things like that where certain detail certain details but with this one they're saying like we can just do the same process route will see again because it doesn't benefit the republicans to have this out now i know smart people on the left and the right who think the russia investigation is like overblown and they're like you know this is just a thing that democrats are doing to distract themselves because they can't accept the trump won i know people from both sides who say that and like i'm having a harder and harder time believing that with the way he behaves slick it just seems unless you're just going to say he's lake just accidentally behaving like a incredibly guilty person i i'm just confused why he.
