"And that is going to be the gift, the grace that we can receive of peace. And not just that of authentic divine action, which will help it will call out what is my line. It will make light reveal what needs to be changed. And therefore, accountability can come into effect because that's the problem right now. People have made decisions, haven't necessarily been held accountable. And sadly, people feel powerless, and that is a real problem. There's much more of us as individuals of us who are probably more meek, more normally you want to call it that. Maybe more innocent and good natured. Where the ones who should be governing the planet, government should be listening to the people. So if we're doing it in the right way, we can make this earth better. There is war right now, but hopefully that will move on. And if it gets more crisis, which is a potential, then we will know what to do in times of crisis. We will thrive. We will survive. We will create life for the next generation to create wonderful things that can happen on the planet. And that's the best we can do. And on that note, I'm going to pass it over to a special guest now. Hello, everyone. Are you leaving? You don't want to say anything at the same time. After you? Well, hi, I mean, I just was listening to your Instagram Live, it's time to really good. Good. Hi, everyone. Are you going to I should just talk a little bit? Okay. Hi, I'm going to talk a little bit if you all want me to. How's it going? It's good to see you. Ryo, I see you're here. I was just texting with you. How funny is that? See those beautiful pictures and let me see if I can show you. This. We are in this incredible place at Tara was just saying that we're down in the four corners region. Between what Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. It's so incredible. It really is. It's like heaven, it's heavenly. So I just wanted to say hi, this is of course Tarek's opportunity to talk to all of you, but I'm here if you have any questions and I can answer questions if you would like. Otherwise, I just wanted to say, hi, that's the main thing. And that a lot of what's hark was talking about this piece of not knowing exactly what is the where we are settled yet at such a big theme of what's going on right now in the astrology and in the world and I'm glad he addressed that because we've been talking to a lot of people who've are frustrated that things aren't solid in their lives yet and it seems that that is what the thing with your honest and Taurus is all about. So I have nothing more to add to what he said. So unless any of you have any questions for me, I'm gonna end this live, but I just wanted to say hello. While I could. And yeah, that's it. So good to see you all and I hope you are going to have a great day today and a great week. And yeah, much love to all of you. Okay, bye.

"From Bloomberg's European headquarters, here in London, I'm Caroline Hepburn, with this Bloomberg radio business flash. So the focus really is on rising U.S. yields. The U.S. ten year one spot 7 two 5 up by one and a half basis points and starting trading in Europe, German German yields also heading towards zero. Now at negative 7 basis points, so up by one and a half basis points. This is a shifting landscape really for investors as yields are expected to rise with the FOMC minutes. Yesterday, underlining really the hawkish pivot formed the fed, the S&P 500 E mini futures are down in the red at not even a tenth of 1% NASDAQ, even if he's also in the red for Europe, though U.S. stocks 50 futures currently down by 1.4%. You had really a very broad sell off and particularly strong tech sell off, both on Wall Street yesterday and also in Asia this morning. So the topics down more than 2% nikkei two two 5 dropping 2.8% this morning. The S&P 500 slid by 1.9% of the close yesterday, the NASDAQ tumbled 3.1%. And so we expect that perhaps to continue also in the trading sessions today, Lisa, according to the futures, the dollar and the yen both gaining oil prices are down half of 1% omicron also overshadowing in Asia in particular with more lockdowns in China, for example, WTI crew features at 7 $7 41 and a mitts all of this turmoil, Bitcoin, slumping 1.1% this morning at $43,000 just there or thereabouts. That is a big big radio business flash. Now here's the anger with more what's going on around the world's familiar. Caroline good morning and thank you. Let's start in the U.S. where president Joe Biden will mark a one year since a deadly capital insurrection by seeking to rally Democrats around voting rights legislation. He will also warn that in action, risks emboldening extremist followers of former president Donald Trump before the midterm elections. Biden and his allies in Congress plan of full slate of events today marking the January the 6th a riot. Now, North Korea said it test fired a hypersonic missile yesterday, as it continues to develop strategic weapons in a challenge to the U.S. and its allies. State media say the missile precisely hit the target more than 430 miles away, the test comes days after leader Kim Jong-un indicated nuclear talks with the U.S. were a very low priority for a peon Yang and Rio has canceled its world famous carnival street parades for a second consecutive year on a new wave of COVID infections. However, unlike last year parades of summer schools in front of seated spectators will go ahead after a relatively low in infections, Brazilian health officials are beginning to sound the alarm again as the omicron variant and flu does spread through big cities in the country. Global news, 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quicktake, powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts in more than 120 countries, and this is Bloomberg Caroline. Gosh, so no ryo carnival. Thank you so much Lee and guarantees with the world news this morning. Now let's talk about our top story, the issue driving markets, fed officials, mulling earlier and faster rate hikes than had been expected due to rising inflation. That's according to the minutes from the December FOMC minute meeting. Now after the release, we heard from a number of guests on this topic as you'd expect, I want to bring you a few of their thoughts, Michael contopus of Richard Bernstein advisers, also Brian levitt of invesco and the former Federal Reserve vice chairman Alan blinder. Powell said during the press conference very clearly, they were going to go, is this a meaningful shift to the place where the Federal Reserve is going to raise interest rates so rapidly what's changed in terms of the fed's reaction function? This is the early stages of a tightening cycle. And as we know, it's usually not the first rate hike that matters. It's usually the last one. On March the live meeting for hike. I think the only surprise, perhaps, was sort of the view on the balance sheet runoff. We should expect volatility to return to markets when we get unexpected results at a central bankers. I think so far, so good. They learn to handle that better than they did in 2013. So that was the host of our guests speaking about the FOMC minutes and where they see the fed trajectory. Let's turn to Jennifer mcewan, who is head of global economics service at capital economics, Jennifer, I'd love to have your take then on the minute and where you see the rate path now, according to Bloomberg economics, it leaves the rate path at the end of next year just shy of two and a half percent in the U.S.. How quickly do we get there? Well, I mean, I think the first thing to note is that while the fed is talking about that faster pace of tightening, that's faster than was expected pre December. It's not faster than with expected after these are just a minute of the December meeting. So I'm quite surprised that it's been taken such as a surprise, but clearly it is a big caucus shift. There are three three hikes next year in the median projections and I think there's no reason really to deviate from that. I think we can probably take the fed at its word that it will be about three next year. And then I was anticipating maybe another three or four the following year, race still at the extremely low, very accommodative policy despite the fact that the economy is not operating with the large degree of space capacity and inflationary pressures are really building. Where do you think that leaves the risk of a real surge in yields and in real yields? We started to see yields rising. Does it become disorderly? Is that the risk? Of course it's a risk, but I think what the fed's doing is really trying to communicate quite early on what is plans are. It's trying to flag this rate hike at least a few months in advance. And markets are starting to price in the kind of profile that the fed is anticipating. So unless there's another big shift unless we see inflation persisting for longer than the fed is assuming then I think probably it's steady as she goes and so far so good. How important will be the payroll non fund payroll number on Friday then? Is that going to have an influence or has the fed sort of definitively shifted towards a greater concern around inflation? Yeah, well payrolls are always pretty important. We're expecting a gain of around 350,000 in non farm payrolls, which would be a pretty healthy increase, but consistent with the gradual downward trend in payroll gains. In recent months. So I think that was just really add to the fed's view of support the fed's view that the labor market is recovering that it's getting towards its targets for full employment and clearly inflation targets have already been met. Puts the ECB in quite an awkward position, doesn't it? I won't say fighting the fed because that's a tricky one, isn't it? But it does put Christine Lagarde in a very difficult position now. Well, I'm not sure. I guess it would do if the Eurozone economy was in serious trouble when you were seeing Eurozone yields rise as we are in that kind of tightening really wasn't warranted. In the Eurozone. But the ECB also has taken a little bit of a hawkish shift recently in inflation. Of course, is very high. In the Eurozone two. So I don't think it's too difficult to position. I don't think the ECB is going to follow up with rate hikes in the near term. We're not expecting any this year, but we are seeing that it's tapering its asset purchases. Throughout the year. And I think that's kind of that's where the ECB sits in a much more modest kind of removal of policy accommodation rather than any kind of move

"Week of october fifth. I'm katherine lecco on here. With terry morrow hello usually on this. Podcast we talk about parenting issues. But once a week terry and i liked to get together to discuss. Tv movies books and other entertainment topics. Because it's nice to talk about something other than parenting for change So we are now into the third week of the two series that we have picked. We have ted lasso and only murders in the building so yes you will start with ted lasso. This week's episode. We're on season one for everyone else in the world is on. He's into this. Episode is called. Trent krim the independence. And as i promised you last week the incriminating photos proved to be dealt with very quickly and easily. Yes we've not have to worry about that and the scary two-tone hair report. A guy turned out to be khanna decent. Yeah he was him. He was won over as everyone is slightly. Ted yes and he you know. Rebecca agreed you know. She stopped publication of the photos because she was afraid that keely was gonna figure out that it was her who had caused them to be taken right and her her deal with the newspaper publisher. Was that this. Trent krim the scary two-tone hair man was going to do a profile of ted and she that would achieve the same. Yes and the community against ted because to this guy right and sure enough that backfired upon rebecca as well. I did and i kind of loved that it wasn't like ted went to the school and made a big inspirational speech. That one the guy over or you know there was like no one big thing is just he could see what ted was doing and that it made sense and then you know not just that he was a good guy. 'cause i don't think you know who cares about that but that he's doing his kind of doing something valuable for the community one way or the other right and also that obviously his i mean. Some of his strategies are interesting in good for the team. Another not winning yet ryo. Yes we see the started to see this week. The little cracks. In roy kent as starting to realize that he needs to be a leader on the team and he really doesn't want to be no. He is feeling compelled to do it. He knows the ted has manipulating into doing this. And yet still makes him angry that he has to do it. Of course yes do it. Yes and there's really nobody else who can so that. That was fun. We mentioned last week. That the actor who plays that character won an emmy. We haven't really seen much of him yet. So now i see where we're going with that. Yeah he's terrific simultaneously decent.

"The road in tj. Three a shock. I'm mark not a traditional choice for a podcast is still my favorite mark. My voice when. I'm speaking completely in awe selection if it's just going to be may on the recording like maybe on the bubble podcast for example which is a tv podcast that. I don't like a hubby cher. That mock works. Great for that when i think about what. I'd like to san locked recorded. That mike doesn't fill me. It gets me there but there are a few issues with the mark being a super cardio. Patent mania has a very taught pickup patent in front of the microphone. Basically when those patents start to become more narrow it does open up a window at the back of the marker fine for whatever reason physics that you will sell a some re noise problems. So if you've got a holly reflective surface directly behind the mic or annoy souls like a small feign or an air conditioner on the wall directly behind the mock you will mice lockley pick up more of that san than you're expecting to and the other thing is and this is something that ryo tiger actually mentioned to me that ryo tiger from the podcast. Roundtable shukan mocks. Ken behave little bit strangely in very small rooms and i mean a very small room at the moment. This is a small bedroom. That i mean now so i don't use it in. And i'm not sure why is just the way does marks wick. It does tend to send muddy if it's not in exactly the right place in the room. I'm going to need your wisdom here. Because although i think we're we're kind of thinking liking this but i think greg is a bit of an emotionally damaged person for one I think that he has had like some emotional issues. Probably since his dad died agree. A lot of people are saying that he's just like a player and he's just you know an actor but i don't know i was believing him i was leaving. He got way too into this and he i think he really i think he saw himself as more of a front runner than he is. I think he completely bought in to every thing about katie about them. I think he sits there one time. She said him down and he was like. I don't know i get worried. And she was like how. Can i reassure you. Would you need me to tell you. I think from then on he bought in to the thought of shady feels the way i feel in i am in love in this whole thing is real. This is real every bit of it. And i don't think would he factored in is that katie will forever keep the show. I yes in whatever check. She's getting listed the way she has hounded on this will end in engagement lice. Winnie is talking to his family. He is completely without embarrassment. Basically telling them like this is happening. He he's talking to his mom he's like. Oh yeah this is happening. And he says a couple of things that i thought were sort of telling one of the things he says is To his friend he's like yeah. I'm in love with the scrawl totally invested. We've already worked out the details. I heard that to her too. I was like oh case. So he's not getting this from nowhere. No no i think she. I do believe that she gave him a shorty that he was the one That's what i think too. Yeah not like the type that she's doing with these other guys of them being like oh she makes me feel like the one i believe she said okay. Yes this is happening. How how are we going to make this work. Who's coming where. Because to be honest. I mean again. I haven't watched this many seasons of as many seasons as you. I do feel by the time they're at home or whatever you call these things Hometowns yeah he's shit towns that they know they're going to go with. They know who they're going. There's i don't really think it's like a down to the wire thing at least it hasn't felt like he even season. It didn't really feel like it was down to the wire. we know for sure. Their format james's season. It wasn't down to the wire. Well write that. One was getting kind of obvious. But i feel like this one will be more obvious. Headed been edited the differently by we would not be they barely. They did not release. Show greg a lot in the middle of the season like they showed them but they didn't show they didn't show their interaction as much as like i would have like thought or wanted them to but without that we could see that she liked him right by so anyway so like when. Kate is with the mom. She there's a scene where she's like well. Greg is the front runner so she still. So which later is gonna come back when they're having this argument because he's like stop with the front runner stuff like 'cause she's very show speak front runner like i don't know if i'm supposed to say this but greg's going to be here next week and i would greg when he's like what does it mean. Who cares like who cares about your next week. What matters is do. I win the show. There's two more guys like you telling me on gonna make it another week is just basically telling me like i'm going to beat out just in our blake What i think he's like we've started talking about how you're moving with me right out. Soul soul these other people then don't actually exist having she's like she's talking even when she's talking to mom she's like the moms do love him and she's like well. Listen i will say this. Like worst soulmates were destined by the stars were shared. But there's two more guys. So i'm not going to say like i love him because i you know i'm going to save that for the loss guy. Okay.

"You are so correct. They're so generous. And so like supportive and just happy that we're all here still. Yeah you just lately nice. Yeah people just really wanting to support small businesses realizing how much yeah. How much salons really did suffer like we're somewhere like again. Everyone went through something but it was like they. If anything made more money just work in from all. So it's like if salons did end up kind of raising the prices or you know you're you're appointed. We'll take longer because it isn't a touch of its. You're starting people from scratch. Ryo sounds was aiding acid normal routes headshots. You had to actually add extra time and what we did was we added a buffer to give people Hadn't come out until they have their shots time to just dumb to just talk. I found that a lot of people just wanted to tell about their experience through He's needed to build that time. That is so true to be like. Oh my god we've just been chatting. Yes yes yes so. We started building an extra fifteen minutes just purely so we raised our prices a little bit which i noticed a lot of people did and then i don't know about you but i noticed a lot of the vendors everybody's raising their prices right now buddy everybody and so that has been kind of a challenge. Keeping the team excited that even though the price is going up mike it's across the board. It's not just us right. The yeah everywhere you know another good point like someone brought up. It's like okay. You know even the our price or everywhere's gone up. Some people literally stayed at home in made money if anything. You didn't get your hair done those times. He could've went in for your appointments. You did so even though you got. Yeah yeah yeah you know. And it's and it's also they have to understand but yet from restaurants to. "Were. We were influence her. But we were kind of playing in that space of mom influencers and i felt like it was almost overnight. So many of those a certain type of influence our hit the wrong mark or No longer felt relevant. It's not that people don't like to follow influencers. I certainly follow a lot. And i find it interesting and entertaining unrelatable but everybody needed to be more authentic. Everyone kind of needed to stop faking it. If you were faking it or your house to perfect or you were able to still consume and a kinda got away in that. Did not resonate with parents across america Anymore and i felt the magazine our most important job when the pandemic started was really just to make parents feel seen and understood and to be kind of an empathetic place for them because parents were so burned out so overwhelmed that they lost every support system. They were so freaked out and we were kind of an invisible like population. It was not known. Focus was on parents of young kids. You know In terms of mortality numbers parents of young children were not at high risk when we run the height of the pandemic and so even though it was probably the most strenuous existence. We were not in the headlines. It was not anyone's top concern. I think and so we just wanted to be that place where parents felt like the priority where they felt scene where their needs were met. You know one. Basically i think parents across america kind of felt like abandoned like okay. Can't imagine i remember when Pandemic started my my building. Where i live in manhattan sent an email saying no childcare providers can come into the building anymore and my gosh i mean this new york city it was really terrifying time and my building is a lot of elderly people who have home health aides and that was obviously the top priority like bringing the home health aides but we can't have extra visitors and if you unless you can prove that both parents to work outside the home as first responders and you're going to be home with your kids and i. I have a fulltime job. My husband works outside the home the physician and hospital so he was obviously at high risk. And i was like i was just me by fulltime job at my two kids and i can have no help and it seemed like nobody that was not anyone's concerned except from ryo and i just think across the country people felt like that like that. You're just supposed to feel like. I'm lucky that i have a job and i'm lucky that mine healthy and you weren't allowed to be panicked about. I've been surprised in this period. By how pejoratively the word babysitter has been used in so many spaces as though that is a non essential function not to default pandemic language. But you know when when schools were closing there. Was this kind of will. You guys just want a babysitter. I thought well. Childcare is really important yet. And i i was just surprised by the attitude during that initial period. Yes i really. I agree that school does provide child care. You know that is not why our kids go to school but certainly everyone is dependent upon school for childcare and when that evaporated there was a sense that like oh you just want. Put your kids in school because you want a child care. I don't think there's any shame in saying that to some xia. Nhl care right. I do like my life was set up for my kids to be in school Like i have a job supports my family and i really it was. It was a strange you know. I don't think in the childcare centers that fall open that stayed open were heroic and maybe we're not really given their due in terms of providing that going to work every day that was at a time when we really didn't know what the risk was in terms of children's spreading the virus and you know so many childcare centers closed but some did stay open and yeah. I don't really feel like that. The heroism of that and was rated. I also feel like parents were kind of guilt. Did for using child care which eventually did after about four or five months. And i actually did get covid from a childcare provider well-known. My kids got it. And then i got for my kids and i don't know i felt really i did feel a little shamed in that moment By own nobody was overtly nasty to me but there were just undertones where i felt like Embarrass that. I had to be that mom that working mom who had a babysitter and i we fortunately did not. We were really careful. We didn't quarantine december contact tracing. We did not spread it at all. But yeah it's it was. I do feel like yes. There was there was a lot of guilt and people to kind of hide their baby over the last year. Which i think yeah. Babysitters are absolutely essential for.

"Wonderful. Welcome here brother. So i have a question. You talked about it being okay to be a christian in that country. Would it put you in the spotlight for Connecting the dots of you being Involved into -verting muslims jamie. Yes it is a problem my friend his family. They're not fully aware that he is no longer muslim that he is a follower of jesus. They do know that he has been studying about it. That he is interested in it and this has caused tremendous anger with his mother and he is forbidden to ever come to my house again. So yes there is trouble there is. It's a problem. If if muslims decide to to follow jesus and couldn't get into all kinds of hot water could stay here and get old and die of cancer too. There's always that risk yes. Hello brother i'm i actually live in mexico. Probably many of you don't know me. But thank you. And we're trying to to follow teachings of jesus here in mexico like two hours ago for two to two hours away from mexico city anyway Ever since i was a kid and i was baptised. I had like a desire to go to a muslim country and now things have changed my have a family. I'm i have my chickens ear. And things of that since i don't have an anti baptist background i i have a degree and and all that i work as a translator and interesting. It's not something that i feel like. It's really hard to reach them if you've never met them before. And if you don't live among them If you don't see them every day so Yeah if the time has ever right and the lord direct you and your family. Just think about time differently so all of us complain about how little time. Mary's and ultimately the only thing you can do with time is bigger out how to better leverage at rights not creating more of that so it's a book that forces you to think about leveraged more. And what's the the number one way anybody listening. If you wanna talk to ryo about doing some branding work with you or see if you could have road work with you as a client. Because i know you're very selective about that because you have a limited number of people can work with but it's the best way for someone to reach out to you a mo- because it clubhouse right i've become more interactive on instagram. So raoul davis brands at instinct of or instagram is a roy great way and then of course you can go to. The website is sending group ranting. And we'll have all of that again on the show notes at conscious millionaire. Show dot com. Well this is my curiosity question. What's the next summit for you royal and what might be a challenge or an obstacle. You're gonna have to overturn to get to that next mountaintop. Yeah manasseh one is or us to kinda get ceo and executive branding institutionalized amongst enterprises right so thinking about is not about just the individual ceo whoever is ceo should be achieved stories. Our business any executive position may need to be out front that human to human connection matters so growing no wayne that becomes a message and being able to work with companies with multiple executives. The challenge with it is multiple number one just in terms of the journey. It will take to get there and getting me awareness out and then number two obviously just priorities right. There's a lot of companies. There's a lot of opportunity out there. And i think for any growing entrepreneur being able to make the right set of decisions and improving decision making ends up being paramount. And it's a continual journey row. What's the legacy. Wanna leave the legacy. I'm gonna leave. His fat people understand that sharing. Your story is a positive thing. It is not ego driven. It is a way to inspire of her people. I have a business partner. Chris collins makes his point that logos only been around for about one hundred something years right but what has been around for much longer. Is storytelling people communicating with each other. And so that is how you should connect your business is that storytelling aspect is not about ye goes about effectiveness and it's about inspiring people and ultimately if you believe your product or services great.

Kelly Marie Tran on Quitting Social Media and Becoming a Disney Princess

"Earlier. Today i spoke with actor. Kelly marie tran. We talked about going from star wars to portraying disney's first southeast asian princess in russia and the loss dragon. Kelly marie welcome to the daily social distancing. Show gosh here. thank you so much. The last time we spoke we were talking about the journey that you had had you know being part of star wars being the face of what many felt like was like bullying online. You know where people were like. This is part of the biggest problem that we have on social media. Since then you life seen seems to have been like really peachy before we talk about making a new disney movie. I wanna know as one of the few who's doing it. What what what is the world when there was no social media. It's made dang. I mean. Okay i will say this. I do have like a lurker account. Because i want to know what's going on about the active stand of the world right but not having to constantly be sort of publicly on. It is the best thing i've ever done for my mental health. I will say that. Yeah so you're saying that you don't wake up every day with people just telling you that they hate you. This is not a thing that you do know now. That's not a thing that i do. Well i don. I don't know what that's like. I wake up every morning. And i check and i'm like yep they still there and then i start my day now. I feel like. I'm going to use my lurker account just to be like we love you. We left me. No don't do that. Don't even do that. don't do that. I hate because then i go. At least they see me. They see me You you've had an amazing journey. I mean not being in you know. It's not just one not two not three but it's going to be like what four disney movies. You'd use like the disney darling right now. It feels like the movies ryo and the lost dragon. Tell me a little bit about the story. I mean i've watched it. But i don't wanna spoil anything for people so it is about a young girl named riot. Who is technically a prince aspen. Think what's really cool about this movie. Is that really sort of flipping the narrative on what princesses. She is actually really warrior. And she comes into the world and sort of has this really idealistic way of viewing the world and then the world breaks apart and then she starts really distrusting. Everyone the whole movie sort of is her journey on a figuring out how to find the good in the world again in figuring out how to trust people again. The whole story is about how the world was working and then everybody started believing that in order for them. To succeed of the people have to fail. And that's when the world starts falling apart and it feels like that's the world we live today. What's also cool is that you know. We live in a world where everybody who is generally not white gets put into one category with asian asian would done. But what's cool about the movie is. It's like no it tells. The story of life was like. Hey this is not a monolith. This is not homogeneous. There are asian peoples. You know. obviously this story takes place with a south asian perspective but it is still a story about like all different people coming from the asian sphere. You know there was so much research done to make sure that this specific part of the world was honored in a really authentic wave so to be able to be part of that had to be able like you said to serve china's spotlight in all these really specific things like not only. Are we talking about the specific fabrics that people from different tribes but also the type of martial arts that you're seeing depicted is specifically from this region of the world and the food and it goes on and on non so to be able to recognize how i guess how important it was too. Isn't he just made me really happy as someone who was really starved to see herself as a kid.

Am I Good Enough with ILL TONE

"Already, one welcome to the addicted mind podcast a great guest today. His name is Chris Hamilton also known as Il Tone in the hip hop scene. Chris, introduce yourself a what's going on. Dwayne, thanks for having me on this show. My name is Chris Obviously. As DWAYNE is introduced I go by the name of ill tone and I may get off artists slash music producer from Vancouver island on the West. coast. Of Canada a right. So you I think you reached out to me and you said, Hey, I have this music I'm in recovery I have a story to tell so I clicked on your links I listen to your music I. Loved it. I thought it was great and I said Man I I WanNa have Chris on the show I wanted to. Share his story and his passion and I could tell in your songs. There's just a lot of thought and there's recovery in them. I guess I should say so tell me a little bit about your story and how this all started. So I grew up in a relatively small town on bank hoover island here it's called the Komax Valley. It's actually an amalgamation of three small towns that together comprise one region and I always found that growing up the age old story of not having enough to do in a small town. You, know I played sports I had I. You know my whole family was around and stuff like that. But I was constantly complaining about how they're. I was nothing to do and I mean there's always something to do when it comes down to vote doors override or something but the town that I'm from is riddled with substance abuse issues. So at early age, you know about each eleven twelve I started drinking. I found right away. The powerlessness aspect of my diction was prevalent right off the Bat. I was always the first starts the last stop and the most terrible feeling the next day. But the most willing to go back out and do it again, and that's sad as powerless as it gets. When you know I, just I hate doing it but right away, I'm still perpetuating this addictive cycle. So I started smoking pot to in addition to the alcohol that was consuming I went from being a straight a student who played lots of sports to being a straight C student who played none. had behavioral problems all throughout school mainly high school on that culminated with me being expelled for biting and another thing that was happening around that time was I realized that I was identifying as being bisexual Ryo to make worse for me internally I'm in I'm in a small Redneck town I'm struggling with chemical dependency and I feel that there's no nobody that I can come out of the closet insured this wet. So that was a big part of as wall. I struggled with social anxiety as well, and I felt that the alcohol specifically and later the harder drugs like cocaine ecstasy things like that were away for me to actually become my actual self I say that in quotations. Yeah for sure I wasn't afraid to tell people about You know I wasn't afraid to cut loose to tell jokes to you know hang around with my friends and I introduce myself to New People through parties and things like that whereas I was shy and reserved when when I was sober Angry shine reserved as sober by funding outgoing I wasn't, and so this continued as a cycle throat high school got worse and worse like I said culminated with knee being expelled from school for biting and through all this I found a love for hip hop music. I'd heard hip hop music and loved how how expressive that was lyrically the average hip hop. Some is a law or lyrics than there are in any. Other Genre Newsweek, and I found that these rappers that I was listening to at the time were talking vote a struggle. It didn't matter what it was. Their struggles were much much different from mine but they were talking about some aspect of struggle I thought that I could relate to and so while I started writing mainly just for fun that was always a constant source of inspiration for me one of the few things that I still Enjoy doing after having given up the sports and you know school having flunked out a bit and having been expelled. There were two things. One was positive. It was the music and one was negative. It was the substance abuse

Intentional Leadership & Culture Building Leads to Lasting Impact with Matt Fouts

"We'll matt thanks for taking the time to visit with today welcomed the show. Thank you yeah glad to be here. You know. I'm a a big fan of Tanganyika. A season pass holders. I've taken my kids. Are you know multiple times but ah for the people that are listening in particular. Don't live in this area. What is the Tanganyika Wildlife Park working? And how did it come into existence. Yes so you know. Taking necas family owned its own by my family He started out as a breeding facility over thirty years ago. I mean my my my parents. Parents Dream was to build a world-class breeding silly for rare and endangered species. And that's kind of how we started out Until two thousand and early two thousands we start doing some private private tours in the backyard. Yeah and that just continued to grow and grow and to a point where we kind of had to make a choice. Like how do we expand this uh-huh and then just in that process we were like you know. Let's just build from the ground up and so so that's ultimately what we did but it was centered around Ah in addition to the breeding it was centered around connecting people to the natural world right. Because that's what people loved the most about those private tours we are doing. We did a tiger demo We drafting we're one of the first Susan country do draft eating right how you could feed the lemurs through the fence at that time. And through those connections we realized that we could strengthen strengthen the connection between people in the natural world. So you're a little kid when those is happening right. So you're always been around your your. Your parents were breeding these exotic animals. I mean that's all you've ever known as a kid growing up yet for the most part I mean it hasn't been So when I was real young it was definitely the primary focus for from my parents. Rents are at least my father as I got older though he he. He's an entrepreneur. He started number different businesses yet. A ELK business. He had a vitamin business for a while. He actually was a construction. He built homes in developed us. He's got some developments around town that were his at one time and so he he kind of diversify I five into other things in the animals. Were just kind of there. I don't say his hobby but he adam and we still bred them some but it wasn't his primary focus and then I at some point I mean early like once we start doing the tours and decide to grow. He started shifting his focus back into What he's always been passionate about? And that was the animals animals and so You know the great thing for him for the park Because he's not he's not overly big people person right like most of my kids grow on my my friends growing up or kids in my school growing like they never saw my dad and my mom very active my dad not as much so. He's not as much of a people person but he's definitely an animal person in the parks allowed him to really allowed us to take on a lot of new species that we wouldn't otherwise be able to support financially You know like the penguins because eat a tone efficient fishing very expensive or the rhinos. I mean they're probably the most expensive thing we have to feed and take care of but we wouldn't be able to do that without the the public support of the park. Yeah it's it's interesting to especially the the the re talk a little bit about the reach or at least some of the unique aspects of a lot of people don't realize right here in the center of the country provides all over the world right. I mean Gimme some of those examples that people may may know about maybe familiar with so as far as the encounters so yes I mean and most of what we have at the park. We're not the only ones or even the first ones to do it. There's a couple of exceptions but what we've tried to take the best ideas from around the world and so we have a lot of encounters with the draft being like I mentioned we have the the rental Lemur island where you go on the island now in enhanced enhanced. CDs lemurs and there's Lear walk-throughs all over Europe. But there were very few in the United States. And so that's kind of where he took. That idea are kangaroo walkabout again you go to Australia in every every zoo. There hasn't like we have go petting zoos and you can feed them and stuff so it was like why don't we. Let's do that here. And we worked towards that so you can go in and you can pet the KANGAROOS. Now Alan you know feeding the lorikeets you know one thing that is unique to us. Is We do penguin swims right. The only place I know of North America and the only place. I've heard of an e even in Europe up where you can actually get in and swim with African Penguins. I mean there's plenty places swim dolphins or whatever but the only place that I know of that. You can swim a penguin so we do have some some unique experiences like that. But it's all about finding different ways to connect people to the natural world Ryo animals in the wild they're losing and and especially with younger generations and just the sheer amount of information. Right of the millennials on down. Like if you can't find a way A to strengthen that connection on a more emotional level beyond just I'm GonNa go to the zoo and see animals one hundred fifty feet off or whatever it is. If you can't find a way to do that then then people are going to care. Less in animals are going to suffer even more right so so we really take that. That's the core of our mission is strengthening that connection and so those encounters are a great way. We do that. What about relationships with other zoos I mean do you do? You provide any relationships sir with them to provide animals for them. Has that happened in the past. Yes so you know I mean a lot of people. Maybe don't realize unless you're in the industry is. We have a world class collection of animals at the party. And it's even something. I took for granted because I grew up with not all the ones we have today. But a lot of the ones that we have I. I took it for granted but the more directors from different zoos and different places from around the world have come to the park. And they're like. Wow you have that animal. Wow you have that animal and and I've come to realize that we have a truly special collection especially being a family owned facility one and two we are accredited by a there's an organization called the Zoological Association America Z.. A. Were credited by them. It's different from like Asia which is like County or a lot of the bigs are credit Summer both a lot of one or the other We are accredited by Asia and Asia. I would say controls majority of the species and animals in the in the country so for us to have the collection of animals. We have is is pretty amazing and so but that's because the gym's relationships in working with other zoos your question I I mean. He's been in the industry for forty years and he knows you know so. Yeah we do stuff all the time with San Diego Zoo and We're getting ready to get an Okapi from Cincinnati. Dan we I mean we've done stuff with Denver Kansas City a little bit with such a county. I'm so so yeah. We've worked with zoos all over the country and all over the world. I mean we got stuff in from Singapore Zoo. We've got some himself come from Australia. I mean we work with zoos all over the world.

Weekend Racing Preview - Rosehill & Caulfield

"Group one rising everywhere so we're GONNA have contracts Coalfield Josie and Melissa to Sydney with your track report here. We'll stop because obviously it's a great bond. Rising on Saturday Ryo true good full lose hill a little bit of wing North North Easterly which will maintain its look. It's not going to have that much. Impact only fifteen ks but here. I think this is going to be a big advantage on spayed around Rosehill on Saturday and now we get to coalfield on Sunday at six. Mehta's good good for now windy speak of and again I think on Spain is going to be a huge advantage for shoot rices aimed for eight hundred plus the Emma. You've got to be on. I think they're going to be winning. Lots of rices absolutely group one racing tracks. GonNa Cover today but we got to Sydney first because that is the satellite. Let's have a look at the golden rose market. He People Act as your fiber. Currently it's free dollars exceedances sixty yard dash and yes yes yes yes at four hundred fifty. We we go from there. Cube Rick and Castle Vecchio both eleven dollars prints firewall twenty dollars passage twenty-six and others further further Josie the map match really important. I think probably the most important part of this race is a small field and I don't think they going to go fast Yale. Dash I think laid and he is where I think the rise can be one lost because I think maybe we can see at so. I just don't think horses and exceedances even Castle Vecchio had that early Gates Right Speight close enough and you in a slower on rice doesn't matter if you're not too far off them but when you go to host like bb Wack in front of you lost dot ran twenty to one eleven into lost four hundred loss two hundred and they couldn't catch him. I think this is gonNA sit up exactly locked at Yale Dash. Hey can laden. He's going to give a massive run as well as to. I think you're going to clear out and I just think the widest rice is going to be run. It sits up perfectly for BBC wacky got back to his best on the dry track. I think these treacle suit horses on Spe Kobe on with the Godolphin Blue Army to win the Golden R-ariz. Bv Wack Very Good Josie. Do you agree that's good as before no because he writes divert different pressure here. There's any tools is in this race that have won seven for the loans. That's Prince foul was it was terrible. I up and of course Kosovac and I want to talk about Kaseke. I because he's had an unusual preparation Russian coming into this race. He ran over fifteen hundred meters. I up with fifty eight. He got back on a die way. You couldn't really might grand and when he indeed when you go to the outside after being ridden CODA gain a flu and he showed the acceleration that I wanted to see adjust picked on these running saw the last fifty so he comes back an extra hundred meters fights while while like castell Vicki I was because this is a small field josie spike speed dash guy fold and dictate terms terms BIVOUAC with full. Don't pass each go forward and put some pressure on these horses in existence needs to come across us. Don't passage BIVOUAC and sit on those horses. This is a group one. These more pressure is tactical in this small field guy back and Watch Castle Vecchio when he sat when he drew and saw it and he set up on the speed when he when he's group one champagne. Hey Ken seek close. You don't have to draw net where he has to come back in Roy Court. He's only going to be three pays back a set. Nas and close when he want. He's a group one and he saw has run out of the fourteen hundred when he was thirty at to go back in a massive run once again and he has the acceleration tuna foot to seat off these pressure in a group one race ace be close enough this time and pick them apart light dropping back set whites drop from the fifty eight to sit whites a seats closer. He's drone bed up oil blocking and I can't believe the price that we're going to get castaway. Cay Ifa may cause he's proven at this four hundred hundred and he's absorbed this type of pressure group pressure beforehand so i WanNa wrote

"Along to the show kennedy. Thank you very very much for downloading. Thanks for the kind words and social media over the weekend as well much appreciated. We'll look back on some exciting promising types for the future. A little bit of brief national hunt chats a new arc contender some bloodstock corner and some controversial topics as well along the way speaking speaking of controversial the queen of controversy arrested by the young jardins it miserable of herself john jones miss vanessa ryo the queen of controversy. I'm literally like the most uncontroversial controvercial personal history of the world will. That's controversial demand news a thousand pound light who would argue differently variety. We show the thing is i'd actually forgotten to ask vince about this and she said oh and don't forget about the dog story a now. I haven't so our listeners. Listeners will get to get the outrageous update towards the end of the show and speaking of money. Who's rolling in it. After the weekends i congratulations the only thing that really annoyed me was when you did your life piece to camera with vanessa ryland sky sports racing. I was fully expecting expecting you to either a produce a little bag full of money be throw cash into the air or sea just go like a rapper slap and cash around the place and making it rain congratulations on another big sail racing breeder kevin blake ninety five is no mean feat out of interest interest kevin. Were you expecting to get that kind of money. Nope nope nope basically no but it's nice to get surprised surprise the right way occasionally absolutely lots of d._m.'s from final fallen podcast listeners jerk kelly who you know well of course from doing the show with me all all saying congratulations to your calves so long may it continue speaking of exciting young talent palace pier is some of kingman kingman himself won on the group three scenario which will talk about a little bit later on in the show this son of his palace pier over the same course and distance looks to be a right type for john gosden and one of two on the day who absolutely bolted up strongly backed cost an awful lot of money so obviously i'm intrigued straightaway than what did you make of frankie dettori and john gosden palace pier well that was a big day for the golden two year olds boasts of the palaces coming out one at sandown and then one last late newcastle which touch upon tallies pit was probably the sex here at the two in the sense that ridden by frankie at sandown <hes> probably be much more in his field than cape policy up in newcastle and probably did it in a slightly <hes> smarter shop shop away and say because he's by kingman he sort of by the sar at the moment and he did it really well. He was pushed along esquel squeeze. The long toucher he you just to get an ice position and frankie oversee got him integrate palsy in the end and then what's really interesting is when you watch the race back cow. There's just the point where frankie starts to preska fresca essentially to go away from some more experience than some nicely bread rivals behind and he just takes that moment to the penny starts dropping often holds his heads realm not high in in sort of when he first presses go you can tell the horses just thinking this is the first time i've had a squeeze this. This is the first time i've been asked to do this and just for a minute. He's not giving he's just quite kingman. Lake is quite a short length of neck and so the rain has quite sure and it's not auden non-genuine cards. It's just the way it goes but then by the time he gets to the line. He is really stretching out very nicely. Indeed it it just from where frankie starts push to the line. It just takes a not at a time for the pennies to drop i want the penny has dropped his going away. He got it right through the line. Those loads the likely pulled a long way clear of some pretty decent rivals. Lots of people go excited about it and rightly so he looked really really smart. Individual ritual abdomen. We watch it back sort of better at gets to be honest with you.
