"I thought this was super inventive and funny and thrilling, and there were so many moments in this movie where I just felt like I was just in all of what I was seeing because I can't believe they have the Adesina to like do that John Lee John Hammond progressive park. It's like they spared. No expense, right? And there's like people characters who appear them like oh my gosh. I can't believe that character is there, and I'll dive more into that in this was but overall I had a great time. I thought this was an incredible theatrical experience, I think you're right, Jeff like we are just fortunate to have been alive during this time. They can you know, you were talking with Dan Trachtenberg on Twitter. But like, can you imagine like twenty years from now trying to explain this to someone like what it's possible nothing like this will ever be accomplished again? Right. Yeah. Probable it. It's a it's a it's a wildly improbable thing that they pulled off and it's not easily repeatable as we've seen other companies attempted a dark universe is starting. Coming back. It's going to work this time. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, it's possible. Like, you know decades. This will be the time. We'll think of this as the time where they pulled off that cinematic universe thing. I also think if they had if they had made iron man going, you know, what we're gonna do is we're gonna make an Infinity saga. I think it would never have worked. Right. It. It really was organic. It wasn't just didn't just play out or Ganic. It was legitimately organic. They they were the beneficiaries of their own success and smart enough to not overextend and be patient and play it out over a long period of time. Yes, there were some missteps here and there, but overall it is it's an unbelievably deft thing that they did, you know, it's extrordinary. Well, I think the whole idea of them building on success is really the key. Right. If iron man if I didn't work out, the no this would've ever happened. Right. But also, I think it was smart how they certainly planted the seeds of. Something up ahead. Right. Just the just Samuel Jackson showing up at the end of iron, man. I think was enough. It was the Colonel of idea and also the ending of our man certainly made us want to see a world where people actually know who the superhero is what is that like because we hadn't really ever seen that before. But Jeffey we're talking about like how this is yoga economic odds to this is like a glorious by Disney. I I think it makes complete sense. I think they just doubled down on everything and smart ways. And certainly there were many great creative decisions. And I think they were certainly instances to like my kingdom for GARRETT'S Ammon. I would love to see that at some point. And whatever went down there like there were certainly certain corporate sides of things where you know. I'm not sure the best decisions were made. We've certainly seen some of the sequels that didn't turn out so well, but overall like, yeah, they at least led to this. And this is worth it. Yeah. I read that book the big picture, which kind of details a lot about the origins of marvel. And iron man was made it around the same time as incredible hulk was that they'd make a few of these movies and see how they went. And if they went, well, then they would keep doing it. And so they made ironman they made incredible hulk they made like one of the other ones, and I ended really well, but if they'd all done badly, we would never have gotten to this point in time. Yeah. It was smart gamble because it was like it wasn't like they were banking. They didn't invest money in the whole franchise, right? Which is what Warner Brothers ended up doing kind of work out. Well for them. I think back to who was at new line rate for lower the rings. They banked on that trilogy in if that first movie failed Quogue boy that wouldn't have worked out so. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that was kind of the prototype of this whole thing..

There are more than five hundred cases of the highly communicable diseases in twenty states is includes California health officials say one reason for the outbreaks is the spread of anti vaccination information with little basis in science pediatrician and UCLA. Professor, Dr Alice Quogue blames the sheer quantity of miss information online. I think definitely the presence of social media. I read on the internet. I heard from my friends on social media. I read on Facebook. And so I think social media. Has been a game changer for this debate. Because you know, there's always been vaccine skeptics ever since vaccines have been on the scene. There have been people questioning why we would introduce purposely introduced a potential pathogen in order to elicit immune response. And there have always been people concerned about that. But social media has given that very very small minority large voice a large megaphone to promote their message. I think has caused a lot of confusion amongst parents once again that was Dr Alice quo view CLA in California. I just think that they're not I don't wanna say vulnerable, but they're certainly not at their best. And then if you pay his rendition Duke, suddenly becomes half fourteen and again, they're just not super efficient. So I it's fascinating to me that we're in this position. I think it would have been catastrophic deal for the tournament. If we would have lost. I because I don't think there's another guy look at it. Like, you know, you know, you must see TV, then maybe our guest today grant Williams I mean, and and so feel the bone like those three guys basically tournament. I don't really know. If there is that. So I'm excited that do still playing in that sense. But because he the pressure has is gonna. Continue to to increase for them as we get closer and closer to the final four knee. It's only going to get harder for them to come away with victories especially once team's begin zone. Them up. If a team gets hot on one particular night or one of the big three I'm calling the big three now, and they're in college. But if one of the big three get some foul trouble or has off shooting night. All those things could determine the fate of that do program as they get closer to date in the final four it's gonna come down to execution. It's gonna come down to whether or not the other team has impact player you look at dock ins from UCF. He was an impact player guy capable of taking a game over and he did just that. And the most interesting part of all of this was the fact that. They were in that game for its entirety. They had two chances to win on the last possession. But ultimately missed miss. What would have been the game winner? Let me ask you from a standpoint of like watching great Dr play the tournament usually lend itself to great guards. We've seen the Kimball walkers Napier's and guys like J McCollum have incredible runs in the tournament fish shifting gears a little bit. I don't know how much you polish John Moran. But at least on the highlights and some some of the Murray state games. What what did you see from him that you think this guy can be a a real superstar or a real difference maker right away? As a pro. I liked him right away. I've been watching him throughout most of the season. You know, seeing his ability to to make his teammates better seeing the explosiveness his pace his vision. And how everyone kind of response to him around him seems like a very likable guy. And I think he had a great. Showing the tournament. He showed his ability to pass he showed his ability to lead a team. He controlled the pace of the game. He scored in a multitude of ways e finished around the basket. He drew fouls hit threes in that final game against Florida state in. Although the team was overmatched. They had a lot of land in they made it difficult for him. He dominated at first half end, basically scored twenty eight of his team, sixty points, whatever they ended up within kind show in what he could do in open floor would he could do it in a pick and roll and how he can really really adjust his game to the NBA in flourish. I I love to get. I think it upside is the roof. I think war is really high because ability to get downhill you, correct me if I'm wrong, but his ability to get downhill pick and roll run a team. He's a great passer, either Willie bachelor, he has a really special feel forgot it has not played on a basketball should more. Any plays with chip on his shoulder. You plays like a guy that I like you that wasn't recruited by all the big schools. And and just has that extra that you need to be a great pro is is all that fair. Yeah. That's definitely fair. I think the fact that he played in South Carolina small city was teammates with Diana wasn't recruited by the big schools..

So we don't leave people on hold for too long. We'll go first to Eric in Portland, Oregon. Hello, eric. Hello, thanks for taking my call. You bet question for professor Plum. I have a out of state relatives who's receiving social security. I told her by the way that if you didn't know the answer there is no. You got you got that. Right. She is seventy six she started receiving benefits when she was sixty two. She was married from opera Quogue years from nineteen sixty eight to nineteen eighty and her her first husband, and he earned the maximum social security income each year that they were marriage. You know, for a fact based based on that I'm wondering if she can confirm what her benefits should be. I'll tell you more. She was married. A second time a few years later and divorced. And I don't know I believe that was less than ten years. We can ignore that one. Then. We can ignore that marriage. Then okay. And she's single now. She's single now. She's she's single. Okay. And she's receiving a benefit how much is her benefit. Well, she said it was around eight hundred dollars. Okay. And and I wondered is there a way to calculate what the maximum would what she should receive four to started early having from sixty to seventy six so she was born while she was born in forty two she's four nine hundred forty two. So her full retirement age was just slightly shy of sixty six. So her full retirement age benefit would have been about eleven hundred give or take her own her own. It's about seventy six percent of what she received otherwise. So. He's about, you know, call it eleven hundred dollars the if he's really did max out all those years now, he's still alive. Yes. That's all they'll tell her is that he's still alive, which which also means to tell me that that is less than what the spousal benefit would be. Now, let's say that he made the max. And at the max given the years that he was working back, then he was gonna receive twenty two hundred dollars a month. I'm just making that number up. And because she took her they're not gonna look at her and they're gonna look at full retirement age versus full retirement age and the spousal benefit would have been a battle hundred bucks and her benefit would have been about eleven hundred bucks. So there's no difference the discount that she took it hosts for taking it early for those three to four years will be applied to the spousal benefit as well. So the spousal benefit was greater than her full retirement age benefit, she's not going to get a spousal benefit while he's alive. Okay. So I'm I'm not.

"I mean, this had been one of the best games from Shawn Watson who did a great job bringing them back. But you can't survive. I saw Seth Payne tweeted out over the last three weeks Watson one hundred ten rushing yards. The rest of the Texans running backs have eighty one combined over three weeks their offense. I mean, they couldn't keep up with the eagles firepower in order for them to move the ball. The play had the breakdown allowing Shawn Watson to just improvise and make plays at that point. And we'll talk about the Cowboys later, but their win clinched the NFC east. So the eagles can't win their division. But if they win next week at Washington coupled with Minnesota losing or tying or the Seahawks losing out the eagles can make the postseason and the Texans did Clinton playoffs. About today with that Steelers loss. But now they have to win against the Jaguars Texans that is to hold onto that division. I don't know they're going to be undermining Blake Bordeaux's back. Fun. This is. For the Texans as undermanned as they are right now. Let us move on it more cry for the story. I, you know, I don't care who wins or loses. I root for the story about Blake Bortles coming in and like amid period Delaware album, title, bizarre warcry. Let's move on river picks the snap. Path across completed gay to the forty arline. Jerry Sandusky with a call their Tabin young scooped up. Antonio gates fumble took it to the house the dagger in the ravens twenty two ten win over the chargers. The win coupled with the Steelers loss, nor liens moves. The ravens into first place in the AFC north entering week seventeen. How about that grog? How about these ravens who every week like you keep hearing about how this this isn't sustainable, the recipe doesn't work but great teams memorable teams take their fans for a ride. And I think this ravens team have been taken their fan base for a ride the last five or six weeks. It's been a blast to watch. I've never seen such an entertaining ravens team. And they dominated in LA, which they could be returning or they could wind up hosting the chargers in two weeks if the seeds held as they are right now, and that's a match Philip rivers would not wanna see because he had no idea where the pressure was coming from in that game. And the chargers offensive line had no ability to stop them whatsoever. It was a mass like disaster for all five of those offensive lineman pouncey and Sam Tevi we're just getting thrown around by Terrell suggs into various Smith and Michael Pierce in this ravens team mostly because of the defense is just dangerous. I'm so I I don't know. I feel like we're going to be covering them in the soup. Well, you know, it was a week ago that we were saying the chargers were taking their fan base on this wonderful narrative ride, and they had knocked off the Steelers knocked off the chiefs, and here, you are the worst possible end for them would have to deal with the ravens two times in three weeks. It was they held the chargers under two hundred yards total offense. That's first time. That's happening four years and fill rivers who entered the game as a fringe MVP candidate. He looked like a daughter-in-law man at times he was confused. He was firing the ball into the turf. It was incredible to see that. The ravens could turn that charges offense into. Basically a bad ally. Manning game where the protection seizing him. And he doesn't know how to move and he's just living throwing the ball way to live for another down. So you gotta give Baltimore a ton of credit for what they were able to do. I watch this game. It's been so long since I've been in this atmosphere at a neighborhood party with about eight other men in the room average age probably sixty eight years old and tie was just shut was elks party you bringing that that average down at least. We do not want to shut down the government. You will call twenty times to shut down the government. You say I want to shut down the government. We don't we want to come to an agreement. If we can't come to an agreement. We have solutions that will pass the house and Senate right now, and we'll not shut down the government. And that's what we're urging you to do not threatened to shut down the government. Toys. You can't shut it down. Yeah. Say something Mr President. You just say my way, or we'll shut down the government. We have a proposal that would Democrats and Republicans will support to do a CR that will not shut down the government. We urge you to take out of it's not good border security is very good. Good border security. It's when you look at these numbers of the effectiveness of our border security, and when you look at the job that we're doing what you said it is effective. Can I be here? I tell you. You just said these are only areas we want to do you have lost jackets effective. We you don't have it is not a so at that point Nancy Pelosi steps in and says, hey, maybe we should do this behind closed doors, and they go back, and they talk in the president comes out again. What I would suggest in. And I hope that there would be there could be bipartisan agreement on this for those people listening. You like Trump you don't like Trump. You like Nancy Pelosi. You don't like her Chuck Schumer. I would fall in maybe not liking any of them, quite candidly. But why not have more discussions like that with leadership and hashing it out? I think that's pretty useful booze relatively civil right? Was kind of like the roundtable. So the president comes in and says, you know, what it was pretty good meeting. Well, believe it or not I think it was very friendly meeting. You know, you saw the beginnings of it. Cut hit actually worked out to be pretty good. I've actually like them for a long period of time. And I respect them both. We read a lot of progress. If you look at criminal Justice reform, that's a big thing. You know, we've been looking to do that for many years, and they haven't been able to do it. We've done it. Hopefully, very soon in a bipartisan way sort of deflecting back to the issue of criminal Justice reform, but I just played you Chuck Schumer and the president going back and forth. He said this debated Chuck Schumer for a long period of time because he was saying it's yours at your idea. I don't mind. I don't know. What do you think what he goes? I don't mind having the issue of border security on my say, if we have to close down the country over border security, I actually like that in terms of an issue, but I don't want it to be an issue. I wanted to be something that the country needs assembly an issue. It's something that country needs. It's common sense the country needs it. We need protection we need border security. We need security from drugs that are pouring into our country. They're coming in right through that southern border. And we need a wall we need border security and part of border security is a wall. So I don't mind owning that issue. I mean, Chuck's problem is that you know, when the when we last slows down that was his idea, and honestly he got killed, and so he doesn't want to own it. And I said, you know, what rather than us debating who's owning it. I'll take it. I'll take it. We closed down the country. I will take it because we're closing down for border security. And I think I win that every. Single time that is an interesting chess move when you think about it because that takes off the table the potential on Friday night, or whenever this happens. If there is a shutdown the president tweeting about Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer in particular. Because it's the Senate that's the question here. And if he can't blame them he says, look, I'm gonna he's gonna own this issue. Now, I still think one of the important aspects of this that apparently nobody is concerned about anymore. I'm just being honest. Dan. But I think that after was hard. I think that's I think that's a fair criticism. I think if you think that was a fair criticism. I was hot. I think. Alan. I never listen. Now, you put now you're putting words in my mouth. What I said was yesterday is that I've been down this road many times. And sometimes it doesn't get better. See I've had that people said they couldn't listen to that. Again. I'm I've been doing this since a lot longer than a lot of you've been born. Okay. I've gone through full seasons of this stuff coaches in every sport. Coaches who would come on. And just give you the same thing every single week. And never went baseball. Coach baseball managers will come on every day and say the same thing every day. Jeff Quogue would come on and say we're scuffling with Scotland. Scotland. Every every day. So he couldn't take it anymore. Buddy. Harrison did it for like a month, and he quit when when doing so they can't do it. So hopefully, we don't have hopefully, we're talking about the fact that this week the offense of line gave time open holes for the running back gave the quarterback time. They made plays down the field. They scored touchdowns they won a game. And everybody's Rosie. We hope that's the case. I know one hopes that more than me. I don't want to see the giants have a terrible season. It's tough. You don't want. These teams to have a terrible season seasons thinks if you have no football in town when you got two losing teams football season gets very long, and we don't have a good basketball season the look forward to. So that makes the winter really long. No one wants his teams lose every week. Listen, the the one show out of out of a bad game. Yeah. You get one show where everybody's passionated. But after that, everyone doesn't care they just they just ignore. It gets to a point where you ignore it. So you don't want that you want people to care about the teams you want you want the teams that have something to play for you wanna season that has some meaning nobody wants to lose every game. You're not right about about the Dallas game. Go look at the analysis. Go look at now to every play. Said this is almost completely. I've had worse throws in the Jacksonville game. Where I said he didn't play. Well, then he evidently Dallas game Dallas game. He had few chances at all to make plays. You're telling me he's dumping down. And he's got open receivers that's nonsense daddy's checking off the Barclay. And he's got open receivers. That's just nonsense. It got to a point where that's all. He was doing was dumping a ball to Barclay. That game is on listen. There is no running game. And you tell me what quarterbacks going to be successful when they can't run the ball ever. Okay. Ever for positive yardage? You can't start. They had one. They had one third and one in the in the game when up to twenty two three I stopped looking at the game.
