Lonzo. And the sun's there's a supposed quote that you want to speak into existence. Do you wanna see Lonzo ball as Phoenix son? How the Lakers I gave the Lakers the first writer refuse. I say get all three of my boys, and you got championships. They think I'm just talking. He's he's a better feeling seen is because they got some some young athletes. They they've been losing they need a winning attitude. The Lakers game, my boy that losing out to newborn was the worst coast ever for Lonzo because he had to lose tabby. You've been losing for three years if a coached is behind Lonzo and have 'em. Tha that's what he's very successful. But if you don't get behind him, and you know, I know countless he don't start him in the fourth quarter, and you take him in and out. And then, you know, he gets his job and goes about his way. The sound annoys me. Welcome back to I take where coming to live for behind a convert project here at pier. Seventeen in his halftime. Thanks for hanging with us. All right. So lavar ball has been relatively quiet least by lavar standards until now with these comments about Anthony Davis. I will ask you this max. And I want to welcome in will Cain here. I I will. Hello. Are we next max is lavar hurting their chances of getting Anthony Davis? When he when he goes off like this before even answer that question, Luke, Walton losing attitude when he took the Lakers job, which was obviously a rebuild. He was the winningest coach in the history of basketball is his head coaching experience was taken over the warriors during that seventy three win season and having a better winning percentage. Steve kerr. Far talking about look he is hurting the Lakers chances of landing AD not in some huge way. But maybe in an important way. We all acknowledge I hope that the reason the Lakers have it already landed really is because the package can't be overwhelming enough. Because when the Lakers had drafted at the top of the draft number two overall three years out of four it was Dangelo. Angelo, Russell Lonzo ball. Brandon Ingram bright. They haven't done a good enough job. At identifying developing blue chip talent. I mean, that's the bottom line. So the weight on their side is not equal to Anthony Davis. Right. The the commodities the assets they have to trade or not valued heavily enough to balance the scales with Anthony Davis. They need all the help. They can get with their trade assets. Any I mean, if it's close, and I don't know that it is. But if it's close. Us they need every little bit to help balance the scales. And this even though it's not a major inbound, it takes it the other way they can't afford to go the other way on this thing. And there's just no way around it any team. That's a Quiring. Lonzo knows they're also acquiring lavar and who wants to put up with it. That's really what this comes down to if I'm Magic Johnson. I'm on the phone day. And I'm trying to get Lonzo ball to another team by tomorrow. I would trade Lonzo ball immediately. And I'm sad to have to say that because Lonzo ball is a nice kid with a good upside. And you know, and I'm not denigrating lavar ball, it's not like he's been talking every day. He we hadn't heard five for why you haven't heard from him in mumps. But would he says what he says what you think he's never spoken to his son? Do they his son has mentioned a word to his father who's who considers himself a basketball genius? Who's a basketball coach, you think he hasn't said anything Luke Walton you'd think there are people in that locker room who don't believe this is a father son conversation going public in some capacity, certainly laws aboard in ten for that to be to be the case. But you'd think I and I'm not saying that does that. That's exactly what happens. I'm simply saying that clearly is the perception. But also, let's get to the big issue. Lonzo ball ain't worth the trouble. That lavar ball can cause Lonzo ball in his year and a half in the National Basketball Association is averaging ten points. He's shooting thirty eight percent from the field. He's shooting thirty one. Percent from three point rate. I'm not going to get into the numbers because that's not my issue with him. My issue with him is his lack of aggression. I wished Lonzo have his he's attitude. I was laws that were going to court and go forward. I was Lonzo would push to offer lope and show some level of Gretchen and assertive as opposed to being the number two overall pick that passed up what Jason Tatum. The Erin thought Dennis Smith, junior Donovan, Mitchell, etc. That you pass on all of those guys for. I was Lonzo would be the guy that was a certif- that wasn't content to the ball a half court, and then handed off to somebody and go hot in the corner. Because that's how he looks out there half the Tump, I'm not even getting into his skills. I'm questioning his level of assertiveness. He doesn't seem to appreciate the fact that you intend to town. It's L A. It's LA LA. It's the bright lights. It's what you said about Dr Jerry Busk and what he wanted in one he visited when he drafted Magic Johnson. And Magic Johnson is the. President of basketball operations and get somebody. That's so fast that if we discovered for some reason that Lonzo ball was a recluse. We wouldn't be surprised because that's the kind of personality he gives off you don't need that. And LA, particularly when you have a daddy calling out the coach calling him a loser. You can't have stuff like that going on within the Lakers organization. And that's what's going on right now. I would definitely move beyond this. Yes, lavar is hurting to some degree. But but just as much as all lonzo's innocent of play is hurting them. Well blow me away. I mean, the Lakers may not be blown away by the trade. Polls are the pelicans not blown away by the Lakers trade polls. But I'm blown away here. No, lavar ball is not hurting the Lakers chances of landing, and I cannot believe that. I am the one here today to defend lavar ball, I'm serious. I had no idea. That would go this way. I think max you went down just the right analysis in landed at the wrong conclusion. Here's what I see everyone. First of all is weighing in on this trade. Everybody is exerting their influence from Rich Paul to clutch sports to LeBron James everybody at this point Lonzo ball's being dangled out there. It's clear what is future is. And it's clear it's not now lay. So I don't begrudge lavar at all at all for weighing in. I don't begrudge lavar for trying to influence where his son lands. I don't mind him saying, this is better for my son. And that's worse for my son. He's just doing at this point what everyone else is doing. But. Does it actually hurt the Lakers? The Lakers have now pretty much offered the house everything everything they can almost every player on the roster every young asset every contractual relief and two first round picks in the pelicans and said more they have basically

"He had some work to an obstacle to overcome and his trying to overcome them. I wanna talk about another young player entering his second year. Luke Walton telling spectrum sports net that Lonzo ball won't be ready for five on five scrimmages when training camp begins next week. While also said the Lakers quote won't rush Lonzo back ball, of course, Arthur Scott surgery on his left knee into lie, still recovering. So look on the one hand, you can say the organization that really playing it, smart with Lonzo. They rush him young guy. Brian says, all knee surgeries are serious. There's no minor knee surgery. On the other hand, I can't help thinking this is really convenient, right? Because weren't wasn't one of the big questions when they traded for Rondo, who's gonna start as Lonzo gonna get sat. Do they have to worry about you Saiki what if they want? We want Rondo to take serve a leadership role right from the start in the. Bron obviously interested in playing Rondo such smart player is, does this strike you as a nice way to solve that problem? But I think that problem comes back whenever he's healthy because lonzo's better than Rondo even now I think it is in the Lakers interests to start Lonzo and a figure out if you can fit with LeBron. Because to me, that's maybe the biggest question hovering over their team for the next year and be can't. He's gotta look good because they're going to have to start investigating what they get for them. If they just conclude that that's not a match that works and they need them to play, and then even be healthy actually liked the fact that they're doing this because when Lonzo had knickknack injuries last season, there were times. In fact, I remember in the preseason particular, there were whispers, why isn't he out there? Why isn't he playing this idea again, being soft? I think Lonzo heard some of those whispers he had surgery. Okay. So if he needs more time to get back for whatever reason, whether you think he soft or he has a different pain threshold and everybody else, let's be smart about give this kid. Fair shot so they can make the determination that he fits with LeBron the Lakers. I think this is fine. It's interesting though. When you talk about trading, he's not a regular player as a piece to trade. He comes with so much stuff off the court, and there's frankly, some of the stuff is the why the Lakers wanted, right. He had a very high profile coming into draft at a time where it's been very quietly have liked having high profile players from the beginning. He was always never the big. Guys would go at him and he would just say, I'm gonna play, but his persona and obviously created a lot by his family. But his persona was an element of tractive to the Lakers going into that draft. He had the biggest persona, the Lakers love stars. He's from LA all of that stuff, chino hills from the area, but trading him. If that becomes a question. That's a lot to treat for that. I mean, when you guys talk to teams in front offices, the idea Quiring Lonzo, what's the temperature on that people are certainly intrigued by his talent. That's just flashed. It's not an encouraging stat and that needs to change everyone. Roles there is, I don't know that there's any organization that is afraid of lavar or or you know, we couldn't handle it. Every organization is always confident that it can handle anything that team's screwed up. We can right. I don't. I don't think that would be. I don't think we'll prevent the deal. No, I agree. And you know, the the issue is is ever be a complete player even if he's an incomplete player, he still better than the lion share of the rookies was drafted talented kid. He's an interesting kid and, and you wonder, I'm always wondering, what is he thinking? And I, I don't know. Well enough to give you an answer personally. I hope that the Lonzo ball Calcutta Michaud goes on forever because that is fun for me. So we'll say, I hope it works out..
