I've called the old band back together and say, guys, I'm back. Here's the head shots. Here's the resume. Let's fucking do this. And I know I'd have two, three people, excited to send me out on shit again. But I also know that I wouldn't get anywhere. Because they'd see me coming a mile away. And nowadays they check your Instagram, they check your face, but they check God forbid they check a podcast. He's voted for Trump. He likes Trump. I'll never work again, guys. I'll never work again unless unless I get hired with a daily wire to do something and then do one of the new movies they're making. You know, what's his name, Ben Shapiro, producing movies with people who are rightly. I'm not gonna work again. I know that. But such is the way of the world. But Jeff, he said he's hugging people and they find it uncomfortable. He said, I gotta be honest with you. I don't even know how to respond to this because as a comedian is somebody's offended by what I say. All I can say is I'm sorry. I've never physically come at anyone for any reason. So I find it terribly confusing and untrue. I'd feel bad for him. But you get to a certain age and you've lived your life a certain way and suddenly these new young woke warriors are telling you, this is no good anymore old man. And he's lucky. He has a boatload of money where he can go, all right, fuck it. I'll walk away. He can do that. I can't. I don't have the boatload of

"Was really fucked up. So Jack and I are with my father and some guy gets wheeled in, his family wheeled him in for a treatment. And his sick as he looked no hair, sunken in cheeks, lost that weight around his temples where it really looks like death is knocking on the door. This guy's making jokes with the nurses. And Jack happened to call him, look at happy go lucky. And I don't know why that made us laugh. My father was my father was going through an extraordinarily painful treatment. And happy go lucky became happy lucky. And then we always call that guy happy gloppy every time we went to the city with my father while he was getting these treatments, which were very painful. We would see happy lucky come in. And we got to the point where we were talking to a guy. Say, how are you doing? He had no idea what he would call him happy. He just happy to talk to anybody. How are you happy? You're looking good. He had no clue. So we laughed our balls off. Now let me tell you how cruel life is or how funny life can be. My father had the cancer in the early 80s, Jack got cancer several years later at 39 years old. And his colon. I was having a catch with him. My name is 39 years old. Jack is 77 now. 39 years old having to catch on the front lawn and he doubled over in pain. And because Jack took pre med in college, he said, I know it's wrong. I'm having appendicitis attack. Let me go to the hospital around the corner. It's going to be fine. I got to get my appendix out. And I'm like, okay, I was young. His son, Jackie, was an elementary school kid and jelly was very young. We're talking to Jack goes to the hospital. It turns out there's a tumor, it's cancerous, and it's growing in a hit your appendix. That's why you felt that pain. So you don't have the appendicitis, you've got cancer in your colon. And then began this myriad of tests and operations in years of bullshit with Jack got cancer three different times. It kept traveling up his tract until he got his esophageal cancer where they told them he can't have 6 months to live. That was back in 1996 where 2021, that motherfucker's still going. But while Jack was in the hospital. And really suffering, you know, losing weight, the whole thing. It was an Easter Sunday that me rosly and Joey and Jackie went to visit him. And he was at that stage in the hospital stay where it's time to walk around the floor, holding a walker, get your strength up, blah, blah, blah. And he's doing that. And all of a sudden, we see this old couple come out of a room with Easter Bunny ears on their head. And Jack, all of us started laughing and Jack was like, please don't lift, please, please, 'cause he had surgical squads. He couldn't laugh. And maybe you have to understand, maybe you've had family went through this or maybe you've gone through it. You can't laugh with surgical scars and me Joey rosalie and Jackie are doubled over because it is all coupled fucking bunny ears. And Jack's like, please, please, please. No, no, no, no. Crying, begging us to knock. Oh my God. You gotta laugh, guys. You gotta laugh when things are that bad. Am I right or wrong? You just can't sit there and stay glum, you gotta laugh. And then when Jack went into surgery one year for, I don't know, what cancer, which one? Who knows? Second, third, first. I can't remember. He's up at Sloan Kettering memorial hospital uptown first avenue in New York City, V cancer factory. And they say, look, he's going to be in surgery for four hours, you know, why don't you go take some lunch, come back and four hours and we'll talk. So me and rosalie went down to Greenwich Village and met a wonderful friend of ours named Joey kuchi, who said, we got to go to John's pizza down on bleaker street in Greenwich Village. And I never been there before. We're going to go with pizza place. He's like, no, AJ. Believe me, John's pizza is different. John's pizza only sells pies, no slices. And I hadn't been there yet. And I sat down in these wooden bolts where people scroll their initials in the wall and the chairs and the jukebox was a perfect jukebox from the 40s and 50s and I was in heaven. Not to mention the pizza is out of this world, if you listen to my ask me anything a couple of weeks back, I said my final meal in my life is a pizza from Johns. Sausage and extra garlic. There's no better pizza. In fact, it's voted top pizza in the country multiple times. Jack gets the operation. We go down to get pizza. We fall in love with this place. We rush back uptown 60 blocks to go to Sloan Kettering and Jack is being wheeled out of surgery. And we go, how was it, doctor? He goes, it's good. He did well. He's going to rest for a half hour, then you can be free to talk to him, but he did really well. We got it all. It was a success. And as he's being wheeled, under anesthesia, rosalie leans down and goes, honey, honey, they got it all. You're fine. Her breath from the garlic won't him up. It disrupted the anesthesia and Jack woke up and almost set up and said, oh my God, what is that? And she said, we went to John's pizza downtown. He has no idea what that means. John speaking. I almost fucking died. Oh, we went to John pizza. We gotta go back there one day. He's like, he passes out again. 5, 6 days later, it's time to take him home back to Long Island. You know what me and rosalie do? We pick up Jack. We get him in the car and we go before we get on the queensboro bridge to go to Long Island. We thought we'd go down to John's pizza and bring a couple of pies back to the house. And he still has no idea he's like, where's John's, don't worry, Jack, you're

It was so moving That that museum. If you're in new york city got its kind of you have to go to ground. Zero visited Because it's a beautiful memorial and then the museum really really brings home so yeah being able to see the frames of the old buildings underneath their bad loan is pretty bad. The base there. I was there that day. And i remember very well. You're still working there. Yeah now. I i moved out of new york city about six months after that and i remember watching marching across the queensboro bridge with millions of just dumbfounded people in the network to it working. And what was gonna happen next, where we under attack was the whole was something going to happen in California or something going to happen in Texas or Florida or some other part of the country? Yeah, I know people. Always kind of have in their mind. What? Whatever city they were in what was going to be attacked there. I know our boss was saying the Liberty bell. And finally they without telling us why they sent us back to the gate. And everyone was dispersed, and we only found out by watching. I don't think they even told us what had happened. But we started watching TV monitors, saying the city there had been Two planes that went into the twin towers and the city was in lockdown. "Plus three hundred ten days. We need to be moving faster. Climate change certainly isn't waiting for you know our whole set of studies in assessments. It's been coming so we have seen moving a lot faster on that. And i would say you know. We have a tremendous bike. Boom citi bike has hit record. Numbers of ridership in the last year. And it's to stress this. This was not a time when we had allowed. Tourists coming in so sustainable. Modes of transit are are increasing across york and our city needs to accelerate its pathway building bike infrastructure Soon we'll have a bike lane on a dedicated bike on the brooklyn bridge that is a small And a big win at the same time. We'll soon have one on the queensboro bridge so the city is taking small steps but again it goes back to scale. Now we've had to fight forty years for a bike lane on the queensboro bridge. Who has the time to be fighting. Forty years in one neighborhood for some small insignificant said a change. We need to be fighting citywide much larger pieces in. That's why. I would just close with near the streets. Master plan advanced by speaker. Johnson will be a tremendous shift in terms of you. Know hundreds of miles or protected by busways More pedestrian space. More greenspace i mean. These are the type of ideas that we need in york. More big at scale citywide ideas. That are not leaving communities behind. That are better connecting us and making us resilient for what's to come. I've been thinking a lot about that treats master-plan and its promise Recently and will be interested to see where the initial planning for that and implementation is coming in in the coming months ahead in our new administration boats. City council and mayoral will deal with that. Come january rob eminent. Probably echo a lot of danny said but but to wrap it up. It's really what the city does well when it recognizes the assets. It has in uses those assets while so whether it's investing in public transit connect more people across the city Getting more buses building more busways Those are the kinds of things that have benefits using the public states. Well and then using its tools like zoning on to make sure that we're doing the right thing In moving past the kind of injust zoning practices and policies of the past so not. The city has an opportunity here to to grasp multiple crises at once and really take a solutions that solve them all in a lot of that going to happen in its own. Realm in the public stays In its zones zoning codes in its rules. So i think the city has shown well that can adjust and and incrementally change You know that the zoning for coastal resilience is one example where the city and looked at all the reasons. That's only was keeping people from recovering from things like sandy in in making changes conference of waterfront plan of the city's putting out Is is showing the way to the saying that they're going to be places. We shouldn't keep investing in if they can't sustain themselves beyond fifty years and if the city uses those tools well and really speeds up how work can be done there I think we've got a chance. But it needs to use his assets in us. It's our for for the good of solving crises. All right in our last few minutes here. We're gonna go around one. More time with specifics on solutions Some of you some of you got into that in that last Last moments of of discussion. But brits start us off in terms of implementation of cpa implementation of local on ninety seven. And then take it from there on other specific things you want to see happen in the coming months and years.
