Taking Handwritten Notes for Live Players
"Hand written notes for live players. You have to have a two step process step. One is to put something in place whether it's a piece of paper a note pad and a pen or maybe evernote on your smartphone. You have to have some kind of process for taking your notes and What you need to do to help you out the most right. You don't really wanna ride out full blown notes like three hundred word hand histories right. You have to learn to develop a shorthand for the hands that you're noting and you have to record this critical information. Four pieces the type of player up against everybody's positions who are involved in the hand the actions made and the bet sizes made for example. If you have a sa- clubs queen a heart. The shorthand for that would be a c q h my simple right clubs queen of hearts. Pf would be pre flop action f. T. r. flop. Turn river the board on the flop. The turn of the river. Whatever the cards are you want to write those outdoor type them out in evernote but if the suits are important make sure you include those like a h for ace of hearts ki. Ay que de for king of diamonds seven s for the seven of spades. If somebody makes a half pot seebeck just put pot. Cba if somebody makes a quarter pot dunk bet one slash four dunk. Something like that. Of course record the player type. Like i said maniac fish tag lag. Recreational new player. Whatever you wanna say and make sure you use positional shorthand for For the positions right c. o. for cutoff bt and for button bb forbid blind once you do this a few times and you get some practice with the shorthand. You're going to become much better. And then you're shorthand notes might only contain like five quick lines. But that's going to be enough to take that hand history to flop zillah and really analyze your opponents ranges in their post flop
Massive Coolers at High Stakes Live Cash
"Let's dive in to these hands. We're going to start out with hand from live at the bike. John you wanna break down the action for. Yeah if you're so this. I believe they're playing by one hundred one hundred two hundred fifty one hundred. Two hundred eighty as the big wind is two hundred dollars. Jd opens quinton off suit to eight hundred. James wakes up with aces and the cut off and puts an a pretty standard size three. But this is where the hand starts getting a little wacky. Honestly andy wakes up in the struggle with pocket kings and decides to just flat the through bet listening the audio commentary for this had and the commentators seem to imply that like. Jd had some reason to be tilted before the start of this and he started the hand with exactly twelve thousand dollars. So i think it's very possible that maybe he got stacks very Like you know maybe right before this hand and just reloaded for twelve k And thought that maybe. Andy is trapping kings here with the hopes that jd would find some sort of four bet Or you know just rip in his twelve k stack over the three but And he'd be able to kind of put. James tough spot if james aside flat or or do something with After three bedding so Yeah already sort of often kind of a strange. Start here with andy. A flooding the kings pre flop. Do you know anything about james specifically because it could be the james He is an elderly gentleman. And so is it possible that james just has such a tight three about range that andy doesn't have a four bit range versus james three but i mean okay so what i know about james is. He's a regular on these high six games on my but the bike he plays very very frequently. I'm gonna assume that he's not a professional or like never was a appro. But you know i think he's like you said like leave. It reaches certainly going to be tighter than it should be that being said like i. I still can't see. Andy not forgetting kings just as the standard plate universities. A three from james i. I don't think james is is someone who only has like aces kings queens in king. I think he's gonna at least have you know more more hands than like the ultra-tight wreck player through about range. I mean we'd have to ask andy to know what his strategy construction is here. We can't no i think. The commentators speculating in the same way that. we're speculating. And i think that you know this is. They're very deep here right. Yeah pretty deep spot. It's a three about pot. Already to andy and i don't know i'm not exactly sure. Always constructing is prefab strategy. I do know that. He called very quickly though which means that he kind of knows what he's doing in this spot for some reason or another whether it be the read that like you know the twelve k stacks just gonna jayme it in Although you know facing a three bad and then a cold flat like you have to think that the twelve k stack is going to be a little hesitant to just acts stack in no matter how tilted they
The Wild Ride of the '86 Mets: Inside Once Upon a Time in Queens
"Nick davis. I watched your four part documentary. Once upon a time in queens. It is debut in over two evenings tonight and tomorrow. It's the new thirty for thirty. And the thing that i was struck by about your story here about the nineteen ninety-six. Mets is how much of a character the city of new york is. And i know you're a native new yorker. I am a native new yorker but i was born in one thousand nine hundred five so i could not get enough of the city as you captured it. I'm curious why it was important to you that you did it in that way. Well i think the thing that always struck me about this team was that they captured the spirit of the city as well as any sports team. I can imagine. It wasn't just. The city fell in love with the team Which happens all over the place but the the way the team came together and the the rollicking wild crazy dangerous energy on that team mirrored the city in the eighty and that was always. The goal of the film was to talk about how the team and the city were fused and became one. You think about the nineteen seventy-five cincinnati reg team lots of wonderful personalities. But you don't associate them with cincinnati in the mid seventies the way you do the nineteen eighty six minutes with new york city
Rose McGowan Says Gavin Newsom's Wife Tried to Silence Her About Harvey Weinstein
"Now Here's what Rose McGowan actually said at this press conference Cut 23 Go gives me no pleasure. To be the bearer of truth, which is sometimes ugly. But do you want a society that has gangrene on his leg, but puts on a fancy suit and pretend it's not there while they hobble and pain? What do you want to just stop? Look at reality. Take your medicine clean up the wound. And run. Run free. Why not change? Why not go big? Why not put a stake in the heart of evil? Because that's what this really is. This is good, and this is evil. And if you're tired of people looking at this country like the Florida of the world, which it is looked upon that way, because you know it's earned in a lot of ways. Um I know this place has it in it to be better. I know it does. I have met so many good people in this country, not the elite. Absolutely not. But the person I meet, you know That's the housekeeper. The hotel was staying at Um, who shouldn't even have that title because she's a queen of a woman. And then we have the Jennifer Siebel Newsom's of the world. Mhm. Why Why do you keep choosing that? Why do you keep electing that? Don't listen to their buzzwords called leaders, which is what these people are. I would know. I grew up in one. Like I said, they massage your mind. They keep your fear. They keep you in doubt. Mhm. They do all those
Curtis Sliwa Is Taking the Fight to the Boroughs of New York City
"Well. There are five boroughs and as approximately close to nine million people 5% live on the island, and it truly is an island because politically it is so different than the rest of the city. It is a Red island. It is a Republican island. It is Staten Island. It is the reason market. I'm running for mayor of the city of New York because against their own party leadership. They nominated me to be the mayoral candidate. And now my battle is in the other four boroughs, which many of your listeners originally what from Brooklyn and Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan. And they're all blue. I mean, we're talking an 8 to 1 registration rate of Democrats to Republicans and those Republicans who used to be on the rolls. Either they passed away and there in heaven or maybe someone straight to hell without and especially shoot, or they fled the Florida North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Texas, Tennessee. And the exodus continues because it's an unlivable city. No quality of life. There's no zero tolerance towards crime. They vilified Rudy Giuliani, who saved us in 1993. And they view what he did as having been offensive to people of color. And yet you look now Mark you look at the horrific number of shootings, stabbings killings. The attacks of emotionally disturbed persons. You need mental health care in their medicine, and it's almost all by people of color against people of color. You mean to tell me it's a better city in this in this case? In the city that Rudy Giuliani inherited when there were 2000 murders a year 5000 most unsolved shootings and we went from being the crime capital, the murder capital to the safest big city in America. In the eight years of the Giuliani administration, and he attributes a lot of that to the help that I gave him with The Guardian Angels in our patrol in the roughest, toughest in its city neighborhoods of this city and on the

A Look Around Good Vibrations - The Antique Vibrator Museum
"The good vibrations antique vibrator museum is about the size of a living room. And in glass cases around the walls arranged in chronological order are about one hundred vibrators dating all the way back from the late. Eighteen hundreds up to the early nineteen seventies and some of them are these beautiful lustrous jewel toned pieces of plastic others not so much they were super steam punk looking in the early twentieth century in and before they were definitely little machines. This is our tour guide carol. Queen carroll is the museum's curator has a phd in sexology and has worked at good vibrations for decades for a first stop on the tour. Carol wanted to introduce us to one of the oldest vibrators in the museum's collection. It's called the v. d. vibrio tori massager. And whether it was supposed to make you think of venereal disease. I don't actually know that's lost in the midst of time at least as far as my information. Sources are concerned the v. is old school. No batteries no electricity. It's got a hand crank. It kind of looks like an egg beater. If i'm honest and the museum has an old photo of a doctor holding a similar vibrator using one hand to operate the crank and the other depress the applicator end of it against a standing woman's back. Yes her back. In the late eighteen hundreds most people would have come into contact with vibrators in the context of a doctor's office in the vibrators early days it was seen as this kind of cure all for all kinds of medical problems and it was used at first in the doctor's office and then later in the home there is an nineteen teens book that was published by the hamilton dietsch company. Yes the same company that makes the blender that we make our margaritas on friday night which made vibrators and was one of the major vibrator manufacturers. There were many but they're one of the major ones in the nineteen so hamilton beach made a vibe and they published a book called health and how to get it

El Salvador Embrases Bitcoin
"Firming topic today. We're doing a global tour of bitcoin who's embracing this disruptive digital gold this proto money system. Let's start by doing a quick revisit to el salvador on tuesday's show. We discussed some of the controversy leading into el salvador's bitcoin day. The formal enactment of their bitcoin legal tender law on surprisingly and continuing the themes that i was just exploring the gladiatorial battle on twitter continued throughout the day professor. Steve hanky who has really really tried to use. This crypto cycle to jump to the very top of the bitcoin antagonist list. Just would not shut up about it. I mean we are talking about ten twelve separate tweets many which said the same thing over and over. Here's a good example contrary to president. Bu kelly's unfounded claims el salvadorians do not want. Bitcoin is legal tender. The only ones who applaud are criminals. They know that the bitcoin law paves the way for rampant money laundering and corruption. This is one of those arguments. Where as soon as you even dine to make it. I look around at myself. Everyone that i know. Who's working in this industry. All the people that i know who are connected to this industry all the people who are in places like asante who have proven over the last few years how. Bitcoin has relevance for community like el salvador. And i mostly just stopped listening to what you have to say. Because you're clearly not in it for an actual conversation. And yet he continues. He tweeted at least three times about bitcoins. Volatility bitcoin nineteen percent to a twenty four hour. Low of forty two thousand nine hundred and twenty one per bitcoin today to queens volatility is an obvious reminder that it can never be a reliable unit of account and thus can never be used as a currency. Btc is nothing more than a highly speculative asset. Naib kelly's bitcoin law will do el salvador. Never mind his careful use of hash tagging on. Bitcoin and btc gotta make sure. Everyone sees his angry tweets. Professor hanky also hated it when president. Bu pele bought the tip and made fun of the imf all in one tweet saying buying the dip one hundred and fifty new coins added. It appears the discount is ending. Thanks for the dip. Imf we saved a million and printed paper el salvador. now hold five hundred fifty bitcoin.

If you stay silent right now you will be destroyed with us but help will arise from another place. So we saying best to remain silent There's a good chance that something is going to happen to her in this. She's dot going to remain queen but help would arise from another. That's kind of what's happening right now. If the united states stay silent the leadership of the united states while the people are crying out to help israel help will arrive. God will raise up health from another area. Now that's hard to imagine. Because i can't think of another nation beyond the united states now a israel it would be interesting to watch. It could be. It could be a part of the united states part of the military within the us. That doesn't agree with the leadership. There could be a lot going on here however we know the leadership right now of this country is not doing what they are supposed to

Raising Rivers as a Bluff
"Theme is Bluffing rivers raising rivers as a bluff. Like we've done a bunch of episodes those but those most exciting hands generally so that's why we do so. This had opened with me. Cut off with ace. Ten of spades. this is we are four handed playing five head. No limit cash I open the slogan foale. Three butts and the big blindfolds gonna be flagging a senator spades alday versus three but from blinds from the cutoff. So i call. Yeah this three sizing tell me about the sizing. It's like a little looks a little weird. But i don't really open to your size so this is like pretty close to this is that they should be through bettering to versus the two point. Two five i think like i don't know if you want to scale it like exactly. It would be like close to one hundred dollars but this is just i dunno. It's half the half a big wide less than that. So i think this is is is really. Yeah i would just go like one hundred ish but i mean whatever. They're they're dialing it back like point two five big blinds for this. I feel like they're using like some. Scroll like there's just lazily just kind of like scrolling and like okay ninety seven fifty. That's close maybe. I don't know. I i don't know if that's the case or not because i mean seems like there'd be more precise than that at there's some people like there's some people who three that and i can tell. Just click like they just click. The pop feel like three position that that number is exactly. What like see ladies and gentlemen if you've listened to deep patrick leonard episode of why he thought he could make a run at high stakes poker. That whole story. I suggest you listen to the podcasts. And because that's just a hilarious story. And this is kind of alludes to that that i guess we should never underestimate the laziness of poker players and even the highest of stakes maybe even especially the highest stakes poker players. Why did you say that. Why especially just. Because like i think the i i just think that the highest of stakes poker players can get a little lazy. They can't get lackadaisical they can you know get less hungary. They can just be playing to make money every single month. Then just get kind of distracted not zone and whatever i mean like you said to be fair ninety seven fifty one hundred one. Those are all perfectly fine through bet sizes. So they are they are so we get this gorgeous flop of five of hearts in eight of clubs and a nine of spades and fabulous check-check. Let's start there to check on the flop your check back but do you think about banning the flop stabbing the flop checking back stabbing the stabbing these like low and middling flops With range if you wanted to facing check is probably fine I think with a hand. That's worse than as hype certainly Be way more inclined to stop. But when i block villain from having like eisai. Hans himself I think that i am going to be ahead of white. A large portion of villains Range at that. I if i stop the swap with this sort of hand i'm really just getting mostly worshipful I'm a little skeptical though like. I'm i'm skeptical. That you're gonna always realize what year even a high percentage of the time realize equity on a variety of different run out like you are being king queen but like you know. Are you always going to realize equity and just call down on blank run outs. Well i mean if you wanna see what i could prove it to the fans. If you're on a you prove something. I don't know don't know that you prove you're gonna call down but we prove very talks about the theme of the episode so yeah and then also like especially with this eight ten of spades with like eight and nine with a spade on board. It's like it's way more painful to get check raised off of this. I think when you have like a ton of diamonds for example like there's equity more equity tibi realized on this particular board with stem space. So i if. I bet the swap and get check raised. I'd be way sadder than if i had said of. Diamonds are like king queen. Whatever and got chuck

If so when did it become so or was a focused mostly on trade slash kaga. That is a great question and it's not an easy question I mean this is relatively simple straightforward answer But it's one that requires a little bit of context as well. So singapore Was is as alex says very important port and nowadays will up until pre covert you know we kind of saw as a portrait world cruise ships would pull into There was obviously local crazy. There's been local cruising resuming in singapore with with dream cruises not something but You know historically the line. Voyages in the end the passenger ships that used to operate in this part of the world weren't just passenger ships. They were cargo carriers as well. So the the linas. This isn't an arab with thinking about the era prior to the nineteen fifties before jets before containerization of congo. The ocean liners used to be the primary mode of Of of large-scale cargo transportation. Along with things called tramp steamers which you'll see us to carry basically just goes and then i had combination line as well which was small compliments passages and large complement of cargo but the majority of the cargo travelled by ships that also traveling with passengers and in many cases the males as well because that Postal service was the the the subsidies where the backbone of the shipping lines in the early in the early days all the way up until the age of the jet so for singapore It it was an important port for multiple reasons kogo and and Mayo notwithstanding also for passengers because the singapore obviously with at that time was part of the british empire And so britain had connections into into singapore and for example would operate into singapore And also into other major asian ports from their hub in In the gulf of suez and then later when the suez canal was cut through they they obviously do the direct voyages that would go through from the mediterranean under originate in great britain.

We got to be old school but man. Oh my bad sorry. Let's is that the right line now on that one and then that and then there you go. We got him. Which one the onto to richard. How you doing. Who you got yasser. Okay janice joplin with that The big brother and the holding company band. I saw them live in person. It was july august nineteen sixty. It was downtown. Houston on the old square. It at the music hall downtown. Her mud the big deal about it was her mother and dad were on the front row. What an awesome. Nice ask you a question. Real quick yasser. Yesler is your alias. Roy d mercer. I don't have an alien sound like grow. You know who. Roy d mercer is now. You're not right on my god. You go listen to roy d mercer. You sound just like him richard. That is a great call with janice joplin and having her mom and dad. Front row in houston grail. She eats them. Stand up best raise when you. She had her mother and dad. Stand up and then took a big slug of southern comfort now. The bottle and they started singing. It was cheap thrills are anyway. I forget it was on that live album. Also how it was. Great experience janice joplin would tend to say the same thing janice joplin. I like it then just to top it off. Thank you richard. We get a little janice joplin with some southern comfort. Seriously you've not heard of of roy d mercer. Go watch roy d mercer to prank call but he would prank call people back. How are you. And that's how come down there like your ass answered. Sounds like if you can. Yeah you there. You're on man we got. Hey how are you longtime listener. First-time caller i would bring back jimi hendrix to john with his best friend. Eric clapton the best friend when he died to can great call by you. Jimmy would invite eric clapton to your backyard. I think that would be a really good one jimi hendrix. We've had a lot of people. Yeah it'd be hard. Be hard to pass up. If you just want to shred. And you had eric clapton to the group. Come on now. You kidding me jay. What's up. Hey moron brothers say magic gotta go with the elements man earth wind and fire philip bailey and yeah gotta you gotta marie white had a chance to see them back in seventy eight live at chrysler nina university of michigan man. They put on awesome show and the johnson of their music vocals horse. Manage still is still popping today. Man you gotta be hard. That's a two hundred and fifty person. That's a fifty person intimate or not. That'd be a hard one to pass up that would that thank you for the call. That would probably make some love that night. Feel like bill daley on the vocals. that'd be pretty cool matt. Tom said we were talking about barry. Manilow and paul mccartney and those are matty's groups that you'd probably have a private concert and then all of a sudden tyler you undercut you. You discovered something and what was it. He does not usually tip uber drivers on shorter rides. Okay let's hear seventy five percent of my trips. Were less than three miles going from restaurant meetings and people some places very few long distance trips of these twenty or so that i took i did not tip on the shorter drives on me to do so indifferent. I let's row it usually now at least a buck. I would usually tip at least one or two dollars even if it was really short. Am i gonna blue star points. Because i don't tip you potentially so that was a conversation between me and mashed. I thought it was actually got to tell you this. I don't care if he drove four hundred yards. You gotta tip him the dollar and i'll tell you another tip takeout. Oh i do too. Yeah you better tip take out. I'm talking about where they just walk up. Yeah hand me my food. Did i give the order. I give them less than what i give them at the table. But i give them tip and fifteen percent out of twenty. I xdrive for door dash to make a little extra money and most people do temp on doordarshan. I have noticed that door dashed. You've you're vert your versatile. I'm a man of the streets. You really are out of the people that the street walk. Et mattie three miles or less he ain't tippin iming to me. That's tippin pippen. I if i was driving. Yeah i'd not because number. I've only gotten my number. I see. I've i've deleted uber from my phone because i don't use it anymore. Like since coverted haven't used it so deleted it. But like i think i got my my number got down to like four point seven on the on the stars because i had like two. We like to people in a in a two month span. That like literally scared. The crap. Out of driving driving eighty. It's taken us home and gave them. I gave them one star reviews and didn't tip those people. Because i felt like i was gonna die the entire time and they they not me down. They gave me a bad review and return now like could be crappy driver. And i just don't trust other people understand that part but they were bad driver. It takes a lot to give me to give us zero. Give you a one. I'm i got a tip though. I i those people. I couldn't hit because this guy one guy weaving traffic going like eighty five in the city. It's like bad service at arrest. Somebody come. they're rude the entire time late in an hour. I get it. I get it. But the distance won't the distance doesn't determine rudeness right correct. So you got your star your marketing down for that tyler. I mean i. I would you and mattie ballgame. Somebody's a good dude. Just took a tip your waiters right now. It's funny because as a driver you can. I mean you can obviously leave a review on whoever the passenger was. I've only laughed a one star review once today. Throw up in your car Nobody was pretty close. Here's a slobbering drunk. Yeah and wearing up and down..

I thought the focus actually pretty good. Alright, I wouldn't have I wouldn't have let him go so quickly if it was a good boat tonight. Yeah, Yeah, it's Tze attack. Once He seemed too very much appreciate you though, Like he loved the frontman on front man love he A quote that will live with me forever. You've only got two holes. So pick one of those Jews free song of the 19 eighties. But put that on my tombstone so I'm trying to think like if you had to make an all Star hard rocking band, but only with outwardly gay people. I know you have robbed Alford as a front man. I know you have Bob Mould as the lead guitarist and backup singer. Maybe I just need a bigger pool of gay men maybe swimming because Bob mould from Husker du and then his band Sugar He has a new album out Blue hearts. He's definitely wears his politics on a sleeve. His song American Crisis is get a little bit of a run, and he rocks hard 60 something, Albert, by the way, 69. He's old, hard rock and gay dudes. 77 5791025. I'm looking now for a nice, Ah list of gay rockers outwardly gay rockers like openly gay rockers. I don't know. Too many. Okay. They need to be alive for him for a mystery band Necessary. Okay, well, fictional band and Freddie Mercury is is number one on this list, followed by Rob Halford. I don't consider a queen Hard rock. Yeah, Yeah, You're right, Joan Jett. At ease. Oh, wait. I'm okay. I'm not trolling is Joan Jett. Okay? Although has not confirmed or denied rumors that she's a lesbian or bisexual, she said, simply told people to believe what they want about her. So you know these lists. You can't trust them throughout alive. Who are you? Jessie. Jessie. What's up? I'm sorry. You guys talk about openly gay. Ah, rockers in the band you make. You're not gonna throw Freddy Mercury up their front. Well, John said that and ah, it is a I don't consider queen to be a hard rock band like I'm talking hard rock like Husker du Judas Priest, Harder Rocket and Queen Queen. Don't get me wrong, phenomenal band Exceptional rock and roll band, but they'd hardly be called hard Rock. Thank you Appreciate What about? I mean, we since we have to put together a whole band, and I know you appreciate this band, Roddy Bottom of faith, No more leave orders for faith. Amore sure came out 93. So can he be our keyboardist? Yes. Yeah, that seems like it would be cool. Definitely because faith no more. I would consider them a hard rock band. There's there's ah punk rock band of three gay dudes called Pansy Division. And I was I was really into their band when they were on the lookout label, which is Green Day's original label, and they've got songs about being gay and songs. Not about being gay. One of them or infamous songs is Bill and Ted's homosexual adventure. Oh, man. So what? This is early nineties.

corona virus so stay a minimum of six feet away from others and stay home if you can more info at corona virus dot gov let's all do our part because we're all hash tag alone together brought to you by the ad council this is a masters in business with very results on Bloomberg radio extra special guest this week is professor Jeremy Siegel he is the Russell he Parmer professor of finance at the Wharton school at the university of Pennsylvania he is the author of numerous books probably most famously stocks for the long run which is now in its fifth edition he is frequently voted favorite professor at Wharton Jeremy Siegel welcome to masters in business thank you very happy to be with you today right glad to have you back last time we were here we were discussing something completely different today obviously the pandemic the lock down has caused all sorts of economic changes how do you see what's going on today impacting the market and the macro economy yeah and this is important as you know very my background is got a PhD in economics with a specialty in monetary policy I went into finance after because it was an interest but actually my training was money dat federal reserve a beer and all the rest and very early on in March when the pandemic was still raging and markets were tanking hi look at what was going on and I said to myself wow we've had unprecedented stimulus by the federal reserve but this is very very important in in terms of shaping how I look at what our future is going to be macro economically then we can take a look at the structures of of you which industries are going to do better before the financial crisis in two thousand seven eight bank held zero excess reserves they were tight against the limits and was very little and we were talking about fifty billion dollars richer take basically the crisis basically said Hey you can't do that anymore and because of requirements in on all the rest the fed started expanding its balance sheet hugely but almost all the expansion of the balance sheet went into excess reserves held by the banks they didn't lend it out in other words there was very little increase in what we would consider to traditional monetary statistics M. one M. two and I'll talk a little bit about that later the big difference this time is not only has there's been a huge increase in the balance sheet again on the path but two eight a much greater extent this money is going right into a checking account to write into transactions come right into payroll accounts right into the bank accounts of individuals or businesses in a way that I've never seen before and I mean that many Astoria monitors six I brought up in just a moment ago M. one M. two they're not talked about very much anymore but when I was going to school they were like things you look well one we haven't taken place M. one is basically all transactions accounts that are held by people their debit accounts checking accounts and they're each called Nahla count their transactions accounts and it also includes all the currency outstanding but that's a pretty stable mount those accounts are with her very very important those accounts in the eight weeks after the virus he from the middle of March the next eight weeks increased by almost twenty five percent I've never seen that before in the entire year that followed the Leman crisis the increase in the M. one money supply with fifteen to twenty percent year that's amazing so so let me ask you the other side of that question the fed obviously cut rates to zero they injected three trillion dollars in liquidity but we also swore on the fiscal side three trillion dollars in stimulus passed by Congress how impactful was the combination of fiscal plus monetary issues absolutely he you know I was privileged you know my first teaching job after I got my PhD was at university Chicago and I was I was and as we talked about earlier a colleague of Milton Friedman and I remember you know him saying to me said you know excess reserves are good you know it's good stimulus for the economy but if those excess creatures get pushed in either M. one or M. two they're going to be far more R. more point and that is exactly what is happening this time that did not happen last time and I think that as we get therapeutic vaccines as our economy opens up this liquidity that is in this economy there but that's not going to get rid of it I mean it basically committed zero eight to five and the government's not going to put a tax increase on its absorb all the.

Yeah I wouldn't do that but it looks as though there's another one. I don't know if you saw this online or not. I did not happen. Is that what it is the Lens Wars and rumors of wars? No the one. The first one I saw is where the murder Hornet It was on TMZ. They called it a thrill. Kill because usually just go after honeybees. Right I mean just decimate them they decapitate them and take the thorax back to their nest for the Queen Hard. It truly truly name. Although Japanese honeybees have come up with a way to thwart the murder Hornets I in fact she read what that is but I have seen a headline how so what is this. What is there how do they? How do they Solve the murder with the candlestick. No clue what they do this once one of these murder. Hornets invades their NAST. What they do is they formed this big honey ball and of course you can have some casualties in that effort but they form this big honeybee ball around.

You know Your teacher probably also is very good looking it really funny yeah smells grains all of which are we going to pander here I think we I think we've I think we've pandered ourselves into a corner. We reached peak. Pander we have and we've reached peak podcast as well. I think we can get close to wrapping up this tale today. Can't we yeah we can. We just want to end on an epilogue with Pemba with what happens to who arrived own self so as we said He is not working in physics education. He started working at the the Ivory Room in Dar es Salaam he was working with wildlife and he originally wanted to be a doctor but there were financial problems problems to pay for the training so a wildlife management was the best way for him to overseas scholarship. Is it mayor as the Ivy Room selling the name of a very exclusive nightclub club like the Viper Room or something. Yeah Yeah and across town you have the Ebony Room Yeah like Ivory Room. Sounds like maybe something. A Victorian era tycoon has in their mansion. These will adjourn to the ivory room for cigars and lodden and just just backcheck with a quick my reference to the Ebony. Any Room was just going full circle to Michael Jackson Dear do Pemba tie there you go. You got there and eventually he did achieve. His goal of studying abroad got his degree in Australia at the Canberra College of Advanced Education. Camera is how you pronounce it. Think that's Ozzy's pronouncing like Melbourne Kazak Melbourne and Canberra. So he got a masters degree from Texas. He became a principal game officer Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism and Wildlife Division and he after a great career he retired. His wife is a doctor and he When he was asked if any of their children were physicists? He said no they are not doing well at all physics. Do you think he's still enjoys a good ice cream a hope so man I I I feel like he's earned it I think so too he gets sprinkles and he gets sprinkles now. Where do you go for ice cream? Wise you guys go for really like a chocolate dip like the deal. Dairy Queen Hard hardened chocolate dip. Yeah really fond of that. I like Like a hazelnut. ooh Yeah there's this Turkish freakish ice cream. I always wanted to try Turkish ice cream. Like substance Ansi. Yeah you know. My favorite ice cream flavor is of all time was it's not a favor for everyone's it's A. It's a very polarizing housing flavor. Pistachio Pistachio I get down with some pistachio. Haven't you Casey Pam. I'm pretty boring. I like Vanilla Chocolate I'm pretty easy going. Get Out. Yeah Yeah Wow I'll show myself how can we maybe Convert you because there's I I'm a guy without a sweet tooth and I gotTa tell you even for me. There's a lot of amazing ice cream out there. Yeah I was. I was in a kind of a Ben and Jerry's face for a while and I had to stop doing that so yeah yeah well you know. It's it's easy to tear through one of those folks in single sitting so tell you what a good alternative that is. They have these new They're called pint slices. They're like chocolate covered. Like a cross section of one of those rather than eating whole pint. You eat a circular cutout of the PINT I can get done with. That is the thing about the Ben. And Jerry's is they've got such variation as as as you know in the ripple or whatever and the texture one bites not gonna give you all know especially when like the hard kind of chocolate chunks. Whatever you're digging for You're like let me just is get one more those and then like half the things on it so they also there. Are these what you're talking about. Men are the the tiny cups no no they also have tiny cop shows. The tiny cups APPs are great. And that's a very good alternative to getting a because then you can get a few of them and you can kind of mix and match but the pint slices are literally like an ice cream sandwich minus the sandwich covered in chocolate. And it's like a cross section slice of like a pint in the middle kind of get a check those out also gelato. I like a good you lot. Oh good what I think. A A lot of just has more more heavy on the cream. If I'm not mistaken it feel silkier smoother and yeah Maybe that's just the way it's been sold here in the US also lasting unrelated ice cream. Fact I love this I think we may have talked about in previous episode but haagen-dazs doesn't mean anything really. The term is just made up. Because the people who created haagen-dazs wanted it to sound fancy and it has allowed Senate you can't just put 'em louts in things. He's been sorry man. We live in a society that the memes were right like the Ben motorhead pronounce it as you were supposed to it would be moot or it. Yeah that's great. I hope it haunts them Yeah I well. Rip Lemme yes R.. A. P. Lemme and huge thanks to Erazo mccumber Emba. I I hope we all find the story inspiring because it means that no matter where you are in life no matter who you are in life you can you can genuinely make a difference and you can do that just by paying attention to the world around you and sticking to your guns so that's that's the takeaway from this. At least on my end you know and then we gotta get get Casey some. We're going to get you some weird ice cream man. We're getting some some. We're getting weird with it for it. "More capable of people for, for the for the jobs. And also the managing the budgets and basically, there's no nice way of saying it. You have a bunch of thieves and crooks in, in, in power, and basically, they themselves and they don't take care of the infrastructure, as a result of that one of the collection. You were mentioning is the power. There are power outages the goal all through throughout the whole country. Not just one section. One area, one St. is the whole country and they go through phases. They just went recently through faith of I wanna say super -secutive months of no power at all. And people who've been made jokes. You know, it's not like if I will win out, is it comes back, you know, every so often during during the day, and that makes everything else collapse. The internet communications everything else is a mess. Whether you have good income, you're middle class or your class and impacts you differently. But it impacts everyone. I think that's an awesome point. I think that's something that people forget about, when you think of socialism and the results of that. And we hear okay well Venezuela's economy's not doing well. And I think the everyday American thinks, well, yeah, maybe the job, Mark. It's week. But you're forgetting that the infrastructure is crumbling. Right. You're forgetting that crime rates are going up. I mean, it's you know, you're forgetting that, you know, the police department isn't there anymore to arrest the bad guys. I mean really it starts to tear it not only the economic fabric of a country, but the social fabric of that country, absolutely any any take after a while. People start getting used to things not working properly. And then you move onto a next level of crisis. So the, the crime people people don't talk about it too much. They it is it could given the on a regular day. You cannot be driving, and using your cellphone attracted light. You gotta hide it go. Somebody may just just not just from you of let out searching print, you know, and that affects also the like I said the infrastructure you have. Really few days ago, there was a India news that there were three power stations the free much probably the whole country and two of them were down, and without for a long time, and you would think we're where was the money that was supposed to go towards that. And dancers is very simple to people in charge. Just keep, you know, taking the money and says you're gonna win different countries. And they let things go the as they can until they do, formerly collapse Gabriel. You use the term of a, then I, I don't speak Spanish, I don't know how the term was, but it was just plugged in. Right. So what was that term again? Yeah. Because when you hear the terrible people eating from the from dumpsters. You may think that everyone is industry tuition. But there's a number of people that they said incursion into files that means. Plugged in the number of people that are in with the government either working directly or somehow connected, which to a certain degree in every country. There's a level of cronyism people that have, you know, connections have benefits the difference in Venezuela, though, is that you kinda have to be within the party, within and group of people and to only get access to two contracts. So that's one everyone else gets completely shut down. And some people talk about much is fine to pass at one point in the early two thousands. There was even a list that if you voted against Chavis of the time you have put in a list, and you go to find a job. And if they looked you up in database you can get a job just as level of contrast. You know, you really really have to be from the party, or at least say that you are to be plugged in Sofres. Right. Those that are. They're still having state dinners or still going to the cabarets. Right. They're still having all the wine and cheese and all sorts of, you know, they're leading a good life on everybody else's backs. Right. Well, a good life could be under statement because this guy are making themselves millionaires and billionaires. Yes, I way to to compare. I don't know if you're familiar with that other breaks scandal, this company from rustled bribery, let of high ranking officials and prisoners throughout Latin America. It wasn't a big corruption scandal. And I think the number was one point five billion this one company, the bribe lot of different people. Right. There's one of insulin official that worked during during the Travis era. He leaves actually hearing in Wellington. He was recently winds trial on nothing court here in West Palm Beach for money laundering. In all that for the amount of one point two billion. That's one person being involved in corruption for those big amounts of money. So those people that are plugged in, like I said, they live their lives. They have access to importing goods. They have access to to currency, which is a big problem, Venezuela. This currency control only the government can assign US dollars. The regular rate. Everyone else have to go to the black market, which is some a five thousand times the regular rates. I'm sorry, one thousand times, the regular rate and this lived in, they have they have access to everything they traveling to regular basis of houses here in Spain. They live like kings and queens, hard to believe right? The gap between the rich and the poor actually gets much wider when socialism, yes, that's on as a funny though. The promise of socialism is we're gonna make everything's more fair more even. But the result is just the opposite. Gabriel ticket back a little bit. What was the feeling like as that the country changing? It's hard to believe. We're talking about Latin America's richest country. Right. And oil-rich place pretty wealthy. You know, unemployment rates pretty low. You know how does that all change? Glenn opened up by saying, literally within ten years, you know, one voting cycle. You just basically saw the destruction of that. How does that happen? You know, it's really hard for somebody like me, who understands it has studied, you know, capitalism and socialism and in a why anybody would want that is, is, you know, you really have to shake your head and say, why you were smart enough to get out of there. But you know what does that momentum change feel like how does that happen? What was it? The university's is there, something that you can point to, to say, here's exactly why. This went the way it went. Well, I believe the for generators, the and I wanna see that drew for a little let new American countries but. We're talking only about Minnesota and love dictators was in fifty nine. So I grew up after a few years of government, regular democratic governments. But oh them leaning left, and people got, they got the people used to depending on the government, a lot and being and seeing that the president as a messiah figure, and Chavis came along ninety nine we seem versus or speech that you hear from people like Bernie Sanders, these days that all either it's one percent, make all the money all in one percent. And how will they power in Venezuela? And this is terrible, and we need to change it and give power back to the people. And he keeps saying that people should have all the power and resources and is unfair and social Justice, right? There's been there's few Bula so rich in a large number of Ulan are so for. So he'd promised equality and social Justice, which. -ironically and it's a it's a really bad jokes that now there's more inequality and more of a gap between the top one percent in the bottom ninety nine percent. Because they're talking about you never never heard before job is people like regular basis digging from the trash to, to eat. So now the country's

How? And that my beautiful beautiful screamers why I never ever ever do laundry where once and just throw it out the window. Better than that. And attract serial killers. Am I correct? Of course, I'm correct? Okay. So what's been going on? It's got Patrick so depressed. Well, it's it's a lot of stuff at once. Okay. The big thing is. I'm trying to make things better for the show at everything. Backfiring. Like, for instance, I have been working forever to try to get this plug into work for work press that links patriot to WordPress that those of you who are not a patron how the opportunity to buy individual episodes that put out that are exclusive episodes for patron for patriot. You can buy that episode for like two or three dollars Bennett. And roll having one side. Everything's supposed to link up beautifully. And I can't get it to work. And I thought after hours and hours and hours of this week of sweating over it and going over Mnuchin going over to toil toil that was set up perfectly. Everything seemed to be working except the text tough on the work on the on the blog was locked as it should be. But the episode was the episode still went out to the feet. So after. Countless hours. It was all for nothing. So some of you got the episode for free. I pulled it down right away. And if you got it for free, if you would consider a donation to the show, that'd be cool. 'cause he shouldn't have that. If you're not a patron. But. That was enough to put me in a tailspin. 'cause spit a lot of stuff to laws stuff. Lot of things happening all wants. And most of them are good and. I can't get any of them to work and it's frustrating. And that's what broke me this week. So I do have some voicemail in the can I'm going to save it for next time because I'm just exhausted. Even now like hinder Burke that great program. I have that this this new audio program. All the sudden is working, right? I don't know what happened. Now, everything record comes out. Like, I recorded it at this teeny tiny, like miniscule mouse level. I have to run it through another program to get it back up to snuff. And then it's twenty five extra steps all of a sudden that I don't need to be taking. And I don't know why I'm taking them. I don't know what happened to mess up my settings. And I don't know who to ask. 'cause nobody else uses the software and it's frustrating. But. These are the joys and perils of being podcast, especially doing it for as long as I have been. And here we are. And also, let's say I'm trying to get things underway with the getting stuff ready for the countdown Halloween marathon, if you want to be involved in that I'm going to be doing. And I can't get basic tests in front of me done right now. And so that's what's frustrating. That's very frustrating. Also over unpatriotic, I'm about to launch another podcast over there that whole Friday the thirteenth series podcast. And I'm thinking if you can't handle what you have. Now, why take on this other stuff because I believe in my heart of hearts that. All this stuff will fix it self at some point. I will get the golden goose that I need. Make this text of go away. And.
