"The Queen City of Cincinnati. Chick Ludwig alongside former Bengals wide receiver Tim McGee, The Pride of Tennessee. Welcome back to the Arnell carriers. Pregame sports talk presented by your Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky. Toyota dealers Toyota, Let's go, Places Bangles Steelers kick off at 4 25. Here to talk about this heated rivalry past and present is a quarterback who belongs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's Bangles legend Ken Anderson. Kenny, How are you? What I'm doing so good in that music worth it. Got me pumped up check. All right, man. Great to hear your voice. Awesome Having you on the big one once again, canny. And when you think of this rivalry, which Sports illustrated called the nastiest in the NFL back in 2006. What are some of the memories that come flooding back for you, Kenny? Well, you know, Gosh, I guess a lot of them, Um The one that was very, very What it was 79. We were all 17. They came in seven or no on the way to another world championship and we beat him. I think 34 7 34 10 something like that. Didn't cross midfield till the fourth quarter. So you know, and you know, in all those years that I played against them, you know, very few. Those years that anybody sweep the series. It was always kind of, you know, one and one. Yes, I got to go back to the 83 that Monday night game when you keep their kids grab my face mask. Um you know that kind of laid me up for a while, but Probably the most satisfying game was always the next the last game of the year up in Pittsburgh in 81, They always said that the road the Super Bowl goes through Pittsburgh, and we went up there and knock the studios often and clinched the division title to go to the playoffs. Awesome. I can't Anderson's with us and Kenny, let's go back to that Monday night game in 1983. When Keith carry the Steelers defensive and grabbed your face mask. It twisted your head like a bottle cap. And I remember being in the locker room after that game standing behind you and man, your neck was so red Gosh, there's pictures off. You know, Dr George Baloo and Tom Gray and in others walking you off the field man that had to be painful. What I tell you. It was it was scary because you know nowadays with something like that happens, you know you're on the field that bring out the board. They take you off the field and I'm laying there, and I had no feeling from the neck down and the doctors come out. And of course, now the You would never do this now, but the first they did was take off my helmet. And so I'm laying there and I could start. That's about 10 minutes. Feel the tingling coming back and the doctor said, Can you move your toes? And I remember I didn't want to try because I was afraid that I couldn't We're all set. Now. I got the feeling back and they put a neck brace on and they get me up when I walk off the field to go in an ambulance to go the hospital, see if I've got a broken neck. And now I'm in the ambulance in the ambulance drivers can't find the hospital. So I get up off the bed and I kind of go over their shoulder and tell my turn left of this light up the hill. Take a right and you'll see the emergency room. Oh, my job, But so you know, I did not have Ah, broken neck. Although I did miss a month of the season because of that, Yeah. Wow and Unbelievable. It's it's always the Steelers in the Bangles way. It seems like Kenny. Well, you know, Yeah, and I think, you know, check. It's changed over the years, and they talk about the heated rival weigh in. And it certainly you know when I played, it was a tremendous rivalry. It wasn't a robbery of respect. And, you know, I think it kind of got on the nasty side. You know, in the 2000, but, you know, I remember. I go back to the You know, the 79th season. You know we were. You know, we beat them earlier in the year, but we were not having a good year, and that was probably the worst Bangles team that I was ever on. But We're playing up in Pittsburgh. And you know we're getting beat handling in the fourth quarter. Joe Green. Sackman is laying on top of me, and he says Kenny wants him in the locker room for beer after the game. At the old Three Rivers Stadium at that time, the locker rooms right next to each other, so I showered quickly, and I walked, you know, just outside the door into their locker room, and Terry Bradshaw was the first guy that I saw. And he stopped his media interviews and took me to the back of the locked room and they turned off their Sana and they had a garbage can full of beer. And so we sat down. I had two or three beers. I'm feeling better about life. And go to catch the team bus is to go to the airport and they've gone and I'm thinking, how do I explain to the head? I got fined and had to buy a plane ticket from Pittsburgh, Cincinnati. That meant a student's locker room drinking beer. And so I'm looking for a cab, and there goes Tom Grandy equipment truck and I run down the street. That's like them down and get to the airport. And for some reason, our flight is Islamic coming in and you know, in those days, you could just pull the truck up to the game. We're coming into its security guard must be in and Like I said, We weren't having a good year. I was not having a good year and I walk in and I kind of just wanted to the crowded it first time a little bit upset. I said, the starting quarterback out of the bus and they don't know. Yeah, I started thinking. Maybe they know they just don't care. That is an awesome story like a sports writer, Never turning down a free meal. Can Anderson We'll turn down a bigger brother. That's beautiful. Gosh, candy Tomorrow is the 100 regular season meeting between these two teams. The Bengals have played the Steelers more than anyone, and it probably would have been a Browns here. They'd not exited. You know, after after three years But man, it is a tremendous rivalry. And even though the Steelers have won what 10 in a row It's still it's still a huge Huge deal. No, no, it is. You know, it's a big game for us, and you know, it was really proud of the way they played against Tennessee to to get that win. And, you know, it seems like you know, every game that they played this year is the one score game and You've got to be really impressed with the job that Joe Burrows is doing. But you know the thing that concerns me tomorrow is I think the one game that we kind of got embarrassed with the Baltimore game. But you know, they had a blitz package and I don't know if we had the answers to it. But I don't know if it was Mr Assignments. I don't know what the steam Woz But you know, Pittsburgh, you know, as they're known sometimes as Pittsburgh, they're gonna have an extensive blitz packages. Well, I think we've got to get on top of our game as far as I passed protected this concern No doubt. Can Anderson with us for a couple more minutes. And Ken? What would've victory mean to the Bangles if they can knock the Steelers off their eight? No pedestal. You know, I think it shows that we're going in the right direction, and I believe that they are on. You know, we've got the quarterback in the future. There's no doubt about that. You know, tea, Higgins is, you know we got another receiver that's going to be You know, a big time player? Um You know, last you know, In the last game we played, you know, Chief forget what four starters in the offensive line that weren't there and they don't give up a sack. And so I think there's a lot of encouraging sign and You know, I think we need a few more pieces and you know, it's just you know what kind of a play here to play there from, you know, having a winning record. You know, I'd like to say I really like Zach is a zit head coach. I think the team Lies into what he's saying. And they always play hard and you know, and I go back to Ah, a year ago when you know they were over in London, and the season was not going well and My wife, Christine. I had gone over to the game and You know, work. Friday's practice and you know they had practiced on Thursday got off the airport got on the plane flew all night. Go to the hotel and go out to the stadium right from there to practice..

Point and then it was not that long over here. That was like the only thing that actually somehow did reopen I or stay open ended. They just had the longest lines in the world I might not no one makes coffee. Tea. Sarah Okay I was just in Charlotte. It is bad. They're still because. do do you go to starbucks? Still I remember just being like what is going on was like fifty people at Align de man I would not wanna live here right now. To the Queen's city but. Put your mask on and going there I guess right did he goes still kind of like half shut like half like restaurants and stuff are kind of open like minimum capacity I think our gym's open yet but I think Close I don't. That's why. On. Gyms opened up because there's a gym in La Hoya that I'm Jay described to you because every time Jim they opened August thirtieth August thirty first. Let me guess you go to dit. Much to the gym. A. Gym. On A. Workout harder. So we're talking about working out I don't think but gives a scoop man because we. We've been following you guys for a long time you in Chris Evans you guys are partners traffic and funnels a physical newsletter. What the memo's I think it's called right Think, they changed the name to insiders access but. Hey Go. Yeah. It's cool because it's like short punchy just gets to the point I think monthly. Dirt cheap. So it's kind of a no brainer. That gives us a scoop of your story, dislike a little brief background, and maybe you know at t.f, trafficking funnels and all that. So. I started freelance as a copywriter in two thousand fifteen. and. I'm at Chris in a mastermind that was run by Ryan Leveque time, and if you haven't had heavies awesome already know him. So he he was a mentor of sorts to me back in the day. I met Chris in I. Think it was called like. You guys remember this this NASA got on facebook next level or next level masterminds Ryan levesque's thing. Yeah I remember. Yeah. Now, you can't call anything next level because it's so cliche but he was one like back in the day it was also. Who some next level shit back and it was the next level stuff. Exactly. So, Chris was doing advertising just space book advertising and I was doing copywriting and we met. Some. Of the stuff that I was doing, wanted it for some of his clients. So we kinda disconnected we sent clients back and forth for about six months in eventually was just like the list of partner up and see what we can do because I'm sitting implants you're sending me your clients, but if we could put it under one roof, you know it'd be amazing started agency. So we did the agency thing for a couple of months and it was great we. In the first three months we got up to like twenty, five, thirty game we started consulting in January -cause we were. We were doing work for people, but there were friends were asking us what was going on we that we started doing education because of that Excuse me a little Kobe remnants here. Not, really all. Now really okay. So we stopped, we actually hired a guy named Sam in January of two thousand sixteen and he looked at our economics in our business model and he was like you guys are GonNa make way more money. If you just teach the ropes rather than doing it, you're like I oh, you know we we kinda like doing it and but we got so busy on the consulting side that our prices were like two hundred brands of the funnel people don't WanNa pay that. Ended up. Yeah. We kinda discontinued it just from pricing so His been it's it's actually just hit. It's five year mark. says. It was actually started in September of two, thousand fifteen don't. We just crossed over that threshold twenty twenty. So it's been around for five years. started. Go really fast two, thousand, Sixteen Golf we were at half a million dollars a month. By the time we got to the beginning of two thousand seventeen be Kinda got stuck there for a little bit lassoed out of two thousand eighteen we started hiring a team did everything wrong lost the team tried again lost that team to but by the? Nineteen it pretty good team. We had a really good operator who came in our coo in we started sales mentor. The beginning of nineteen sort of wealth gap mid two, thousand, nineteen. We just acquired a business in Australia a couple of months ago. So now we have A. Four or five businesses kind under this portfolio of companies anti is it goes back and forth from being the biggest to the second business at biggest business actually. So kind will know for is becoming the second largest in the company of the portfolio companies

"38 in the Queen City chick Ludwig 700 w Well, Delvian. It's great to be joined in studio. Chris Sparks, coach Sparks five. Good to be here, My man Awesome on Twitter and regale ng us with all kinds of stories. A broadcast sheriff Big Dave Keaton during our break and telling us how wonderful University of Michigan fans are. How brutal Ohio State fans are, too. You see fans Coach Sparks. Can you imagine the anger, the frustration? The disappointment Ohio State football fans have knowing that you see is playing football in the Buckeyes, Aurens. Can you just imagine? I mean, if you're a coach or a player, you're sitting there shaking your head, because where's the science or the equality behind it, right. I mean, this whole thing supposed to be about protecting everybody, Okay, but You know, it doesn't make any sense to me. And then further more a little bit more Like what? You guys what we were talking about during a break. How the things that we miss. During this time and college football in the fan interaction, you know, say talking about his time as being a student in the fan section. There you see you talking about your time in all your travels in like How you can talk about like when I went and played at Michigan State. There were the worst fans ever because they were the best day they were relentless or going to Michigan. But for This is more than just Being a student athlete for these guys, This is a pathway to a career and even for the guys that don't go on to play professionally, right? I mean, they're getting exposure to get a good job after they're done after they graduate. It's just if you want to pull your hair out Chick Oh, no doubt, no doubt and Yes, the health and safety of the players, coaches, parents. That's all paramount. But how can one part of the country be playing and not the other part? I just I don't understand. Well, look like I was saying, if if I'm a Donald Trump right now, my number A one priority is to get the Buckeyes plane fulfill the largest association in the world. I I would be making his many trips here, as I can, as many trips to Chicago to speak with the Big 10 commissioner and make sure that that happens. Absolutely because it's become a political football. Absolutely no doubt absolutely doesn't make sense at all. He's pushing hard for it. Yeah, it doesn't make sense at all. That's right. And but who's listening? You know that. Center for Disease Control and, Well, Here's the other thing that gets me okay. So Ohio State, as many universities do has one of the finest medical institutions on its campus in the entire world in the entire world. And so you mean to tell me that they cannot come up with a system to protect their student athletes. As they would protect their students. It makes no sense to me whatsoever, and we talk about the level of technology that's going into protecting these student athletes where every time they go into any room to any weight lifting session to a meal on the field. They're hip. They're punching a code in. So you know exactly where they've been there getting tested almost daily. And then if you look at the statistics of it this age range Of kid young men, young adults. They don't get affected by this as much as everyone else. The death rates. We've seen the statistics. Nowhere near is what the rest of the population is. So I would think with a fine academic institution like the Ohio State University. Ah, tremendous world class medical facility on your campus. You can't find a way I know. I know it's it's It's frustrating. You know, it really is and man just the whole I would hate to be a college student. Deprived off. Thean ability to go to a party. Oh, my gosh. The Evan Scholar house I was going to say been rocking back in today Can Oh, my gosh, we Yeah, well, we marched down to the library on Friday and Saturday nights, and the library was a campus tavern on high Street, You know, and just Oh, my gosh. And the beer blast that we would have, you know, the fraternity house? You can't have it any more than the police are out for you. If you have more than 10, people in the crowd well, and how about this? At Northeastern University In Boston, Massachusetts, there was a group of six kids. I believe that regular students were in their own dorm rooms off campus dorm rooms off campus dorm rooms having a little get together, they got caught. And they got kicked out of school. Not for having adult beverages there, but because they were too close to each other for this period of time, and to top it off. They're not getting their $36,000 tuition back either. Oh, my goodness. Gracious. That's amazing! Yeah, Yeah. Northeastern Yahoo! That's where Dan Ross, the Bangles tight end from Yeah. Wow. Hey, let's take another break and we'll be back. Hey, I've got my coffee, Chris as his water. We've got our computers. All we need is you to join us. At 5137491 7800 the big one. "Forty in the Queen city of Cincinnati, chick Ludwig, seven hundred wwl, w welcome to the Kelsey Chevrolet, extra innings show is the reds chop down the mighty Houston Astros. Three to two tonight at great American ballpark. The reds capture the opening game of this three game series. But it sure felt more like the reds survived. The astros. With one out and one on the ninth inning manager David bell turned into sparky Anderson, captain hook. He pulled closer rise. Ella glazed in favor of Michael Lorenzen in turn out to be the right move, because Lorenzen retired. Michael Brantley on a fly out to center in, then he struck out your Dan Alvarez swinging for the third for his third. Save the third out how what a wild game tonight. The Ritz improved. To thirty two and thirty eight enjoying back-to-back victories. For the first time since may twenty seven twenty eight when the pirates were in town those, those victories were eight to one in the second game of the of a day night doubleheader and then eleven to six the next day, will the Astros, they fought a forty eight and twenty five they suffered back to back losses for the first time since may twenty second and twenty third the reds pitchers tonight, walk nine Astros. Six by Lewis castio, but despite that unsightly number castio improved this record to seven one his pitching, line six plus innings. Two hits two runs. Six walks seven strike outs. A wild pitch in his ERA is now two point two six and Nixon Zell, man. He came through with the clutch to run single in Ayu, halio swore as edit an RBI single is the red scored all three. Three of their runs in that fifth inning in the reds are now ten and fifteen in one run games in the reds had an opportunity that same inning to blow this game wide open because your cell. Walked to load the bases. And then bell pulls Phillip Ervin in favor of. The hero from yesterday. We all know who that is in. That was. Jesse winker? But what does Winker do he grounds into a double play to end the threat to read still had that three to nothing lead after the fifth inning? But the Astros bark back with two runs in the seventh. And it was Jose Peraza throwing air to open the floodgates for those two runs to score, but things got really dicey at the end of this game and some pitching moves no doubt. And there's gonna be some fallout here because what David bell did was. He sent a message to rise relic Lacey's. We put you in there to get people out. You walked two batters. He wound up pitching one winning in parts of the eighth and ninth, he came on with one out in the eighth inning survived it. He got one out in the ninth after walking the first batter in the ninth inning. But then he got pulled in favor of Michael ranson. And the message is clear to Rizal glazed man, we put you in there to get people out. You weren't able to do it. He got pulled in Michael Lorenzen came in and shut. The Astros down. Michael Brantley flies out, and then a three and one count on Alvarez, but he winds up. Getting him out k swing to end the game in a real thriller in a game that took two hours and fifty six minutes along with a fifty two minute rain delay in the in the third inning in this game. So reds win and back to back victories, it feels good thirty two and thirty eight. Maybe this is the start of a run here for the reds. But for that run to continue they're going to have to conquer the great Justin Verlinden tomorrow. Night game. Seven ten tomorrow night. Anthony display find he goes for the reds. He's three and three with a four point four three ERA Justin Verlinden. A nine two record for the Houston Astros with a two point four one ERA, so he thank heaven for Nixon Zell here tonight, because the guy is clutch with runners in scoring position batting right around four hundred and he was fantastic tonight. In that fifth inning. And it really started started great against Wade Miley. They chased him here in that in that fifth, any with Kurt Caselli singling to to lead off that inning. And then, Kyle former walks in the weeks, castio puts finally puts down a beautiful sacrifice bunt just that one play turned the whole momentum of this game. And all of a sudden with one out runners on second and third. And Nixon Zell comes through with the line drive single to center field, scoring both Caselli and farmer and Joey Votto walked in up came a you Hainault Suarez who singled on a ground or rightfielder. Michael Brantley in Nixon's L scored and that made it three to nothing. Like I mentioned Yasuo Puig, walks to load the bases. And then. There's David bell, bringing in Jesse Winker and Winker promptly grounds into a double play four to six to three in ending that threat. But the reds hang on in win three to two tonight. I've got my coffee. I've got my computer.

"The Queen city of Cincinnati, chick Ludwig, seven hundred wwl, w welcome to the Kelsey Chevrolet, extra inning show is we dissect the reds five to two loss to the Washington nationals at great American ballpark, this afternoon, aside from two years. The nationals digits about everything right from a hitting and pitching standpoint while the reds did everything wrong. The nets slammed three home runs to off starter. Tanner, Roark, a three ruined bolt from Geraldo power in the second inning and fourth-inning bomb off the belligerent Batum that atoms his twelfth home. Run at great American ballpark. Brian Josiah ripped the final homerun off reds reliever. Matt Bowman Bowman finally given up a run in his stint here with the reds that happened in the ninth inning. In the homers given up by Roark. We're only the third and fourth. He's given up all year, the reds. Meanwhile, couldn't buy a clutch hit. They left nine on base in. They were over nine can I repeat that please go for nine with runners in scoring position? And while all the reds position players were struggling pitcher Tanner, Roark traded to the reds from the nationals in the off season delivered both of the clubs are be is a squeeze bunt sacrifice that scored Jose glaciation the second inning in a solo home run in the fourth Tanner, row works first career home run. And you believe it, but what we witnessed on Saturday, was a microcosm of the reds two thousand nineteen season. So much promise so much potential so many chances so many opportunities in Indiana and failure. Five runs eight hits to wears five left on. As for the nationals, who improved to twenty five and thirty three two runs eight hits, nowheres nine left for the reds, who folded a twenty-seven in thirty one tried to break through that four games under barrier. The reds finally did that they got the three games under last night with that victory directly to get to two games under five hundred today in day Blewett. They're back a four under at twenty seven and thirty one in red starter. And former Washington, National Tanner, Roark it takes the loss. He's four and four with a three point four seven ERA healed it. Four runs on six hits including those two home runs in his six innings of work, the winner, just so happen to be the guy the reds traded for Roark in the off season. He's Tanner, rainy. "Five thirty five in the Queen city. This is chick Ludwig with the Kelsey Chevrolet. Extra inning show. The reds fall to the cardinals today. Six to three at Busch stadium in Saint Louis and Marcel Zona definitely the star this game at three run home run a two run double five RBI's. And he's the guy that did the reds in today. Tyler Malley takes the loss and Dakota Hudson gets the victory for the Saint Louis cardinals in the Saint Louis cardinals one of the really great franchises in all the baseball. And you know on a Friday night after they get hammered at home by the rich twelve to one this team the cardinals as a day of a tremendous amount of pride. You knew they were not gonna lay down today. Okay. So after falling behind two to nothing they fight back and wind up winning this game six to three in front of a crowd of forty four thousand one hundred and ninety seven. So a lot of those fans disappeared last night is the reds play pile on. But man, they're back again today. Just incredible franchise. No doubt the Saint Louis cardinals tremendous amount of pride fighting back rebounding with a six to three victory today. And there were a couple of innings that were really critical here in the in the third inning. When the red scored two runs a you. Hainault sore has got tossed out at the plate to end that inning man in that would have given the Reggie three to nothing lead at that point. In the sixth inning. The inning starts with Paul diong. Make it a brilliant play on a ground ball from a you. Hang yo sore as very very close play at first base. But a brilliant play by Paul diong and in that inning. Derek Dietrich was credited with an RBI sacked fly. And it came very very close to being a three run home run. So right there band baseball. Like a lot of sports a game of inches. No doubt. And you heard David bell say if Dexter Fowler's throw was just a little bit off line swore as what a scored in the third inning to give the reds a three to nothing lead. That didn't happen. It was on the money swore as tossed out at home still the reds Haiti to nothing lead. They could not hold it in Tyler. Molly, man, it like I mentioned in the first first segment is promising is he is. Is talented is he is he makes that one or two mistakes that that are so costly and van the phone lines are wide open. "Thirteen in the Queen city of Cincinnati chick Ludwig seven hundred wwl w welcome to the Kelsey Chevrolet extra inning show. And I honestly wish I had good news for reds fans. But I don't the red suffered yet. Another two to nothing loss to the pirates at PNC park in Pittsburgh tonight. Cincinnati falls to one and six with six straight loss its third straight shutout loss and fourth shutout defeat in seven games. They've been outscored twenty one to eleven in seven games in they've gone twenty eighth straight innings without scoring a run in the immortal words of hall of fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman that is staggering. Yes. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's no longer raining. It's no longer pouring. But the reds bats. Are snoring. Three measly hits off the bats, Joey Votto. A you swore as and Jose Iglesias in yet another reds loss and entering tonight's game. According to stats by stats, the red starting outfielders have gone a combined six for sixty five zero nine two batting average so far this season. And that is the worst average by any starting outfield through six games of a season in the live ball era in that since nineteen twenty it only got worse tonight. Amazing. Isn't it? The red starting pitching has been awesome. But the hitting has been awful reds catcher. Tucker Barnhart had a ceremonial backburning earlier in the day, but that didn't work and folks how badly do the reds miss scooter Janette who is out with a strained, right? Groin injury vary. They miss him very much. Not only in. The Honda field with his back but in the clubhouse on and off the field. That guy is a tremendous leader it without him. This team is lost. The starting pitchers the red Sonny gray and the pirates Joe must grow. They threw up more zeros than Mike Kat, Mike trout's contract, but it was must grove who tossed one more scoreless inning than gray in the reds fell to one and six in there walkie, the talkie brewers hang onto an eight to four lead over the cubs. The reds and cubs will be five and a half games out of first place buried in the basement of the NFL central a week just a week into the season in the reds put runners on base at each of the first five innings, but couldn't score. And then they went out in order in the sixth seventh eighth and ninth innings in the fateful. Seventh inning was the difference Starling morte. Let off the seventh with a sharp single to left morte than took second on a wild pitch that onto third on franscisco survey. Groundout the reds dodged a bulletin Jose Peraza cut down more at the plate on Josh bells. Fielder's choice grounder but on sunny grace next pitch young ho gung ripped a hanging slider. For a double down the left field line scoring bell from first base giving the pirates one to nothing lead. It was all Pittsburgh needed for the victory. But the pirates did add another run in the eighth on Adam Frazier's bloop double to left scoring former Ohio State Buckeye B. Shock to runs five hits nowheres four left on base for the pirates who improve to three and three with all three victories coming against. It's an Atty. No runs three hits nowheres for the Cincinnati Reds. All man. Just absolutely brutal. Who fought a one in six the only victory coming on opening day on Thursday, March twenty eighth a five to three win over the pirates? Sonny gray was spectacular. Six and two thirds innings. Three hits one run. No walks. Seven strikeouts. One wild pitch. He's got a two point eight nine ERA. It was a nice comeback. If you're getting knocked around in his first start against Pittsburgh when he lasted just two in two-thirds innings, but Joe Moscow was just a little bit better seven innings three hits. No runs. One walk eight strikeouts. In his ERA is all zeros relevant teams. Get back at it on Saturday afternoon. A one thirty five first pitch Tanner, Roark. Zero zero on the season with a six point two three ERA. He goes against Trevor Williams who is one that victory over the reds, and his ERA is all zeros, and I'll be honest with you. I was worried about the reds defense tonight. When Jess Winker gets the start in center field. Luckily, he didn't hurt the club defensively but offense of -ly. These batting averages are absolutely brutal. Well, folks, I've got my coffee..

"This about it's like, you know, what like give them a shot, man. Like, they got some solid programs. That are gonna you guys mentioned there sour program. Solid stuff going on there. And I just talked to a gentleman we'd probably talk about living more little later. But when I was at the building blocks for kids event, you know, he's a brewer from Ryan guys and him. And I would just spit ball. And it was like is awesome. Because here's a guy who is in an industry where you know, obviously, there are a little bit more into manufacturing distribution. But being able to pick his brain about stuff and then him actually coming back and being able to pick my brain on stuff. And you know, he. Just really enjoying the beers. That we brought to that event. I mean to me that was huge. That's awesome to make that connection. You know? And the thing that people miss about that is back that they pump out enough of their beers. That you're familiar truce. You know and drama to write in Abel's them to do the other. Right. Exact. So or truth you buy the more cool stuff again? And you're you're hurting yourself if you're trying to protest this and say, they only do that. Well, if you stop buying that can't do goal stuff that I like y'all keep buying. So let's let's dig into some of these other beers. And we'll talk you talked about kind of figuring out who you are. And there's some new branding going on some some ideas. What do we have? We don't have time for that. What he poured you? So I'm assuming that's overhaul related. This is definitely the Belgian. Yeah. He went this is one three or four. I see. So I stole the the read this one. Yeah. Where do we start wherever you like buddy your show? We'll start here. And everything seatown stout as the seatown so seatown is an interesting one back in your one. I did a seatown that's actually a plug for my girlfriend, my buddy, and I won't choose to work out another bar restaurant. It was called check it over in Greenhills place, and they moved into Fairfield moves fearful. Yeah. And for whatever reason me, and my buddy, Mike, we just are calling seatown. And of course, when we open she's like, well, you're going to name a beer after me right shit. How do I do that? Yeah. Let's go seatown. That's perfect. So yeah. So basically when we first opened your one, it was just a cinnamon stout. It wasn't very overbearing or anything along those lines. And then last year, I took that same recipe. I actually added the cinnamon toast crunch that became our sin seatown crunched out. And then this time around actually did a little bit with some cinnabon in there. So just to enhance some of those cinnamon flavors really kind of round out that little bit. And to be honest next time, I'd do that. I'm probably going to do a little maybe a little marshmallow fluff in there gives them a little bit of vanilla going on. I feel like if that was up to little bit. It would be it would be like a cinema. Marshmallow fill in on that. Yeah. Yeah. Once you shouldn't have said that while I was drinking. Even been there. But for me is, you know, just putting out there, again, we're we're kind of just telling people that it was brewed with some cinnabon, but really it's just still just cinnamon stout. So the next time I do that. I am gonna do more of a specialty version of it probably little bit higher AB. And like I said really make a true cinnabon. Let's what I like is that sentiment isn't over the top overpower. I feel like sometimes. Places like to kind of if they're going to put something in there. Go Ramco crazy with that's all you taste like here. It is. And you made and have it burst appear. As is. This is still a beer front and center. No, the four gradients is most. What you I that's what I love about it. It's it's still a beer and not not that. I don't like some of those over the top things every once in a while to see again. Yes. Some of those flavors are so strong it when you go over the top could kill it. Yeah. So palette for the day. I'm actually a huge fan of hand stout. Not a fan of their left hand was at their milk CHAI stealth at didn't try..

"So it's actually one of the myth mythological creatures, but basically with a Kutai yoke. You know, living in the Arctic circle, as you know, you go through your your freeze, and your your anytime the in you would come across. And I hate to say this sounds really weird sounds morbid but come across the dead. Whether it's you know, people animals, whatever as they're coming across the dead. They would actually notice that during the thought seasons. It looked like holes were drilled into the said entity. So they didn't really have a way of actually understanding that are explaining that. And to their best of their ability. They created a Kutai yoke and Kutai is again, the one who drills, and she has a brother who is nameless. And the brother would actually hold said victim in place and Kutai would drill the hordes. Yeah. But basically again, it's just their way of trying to interpret understand their national environment. And obviously since science has progressed, many, many, many fold since then we now understand that as things freeze and fall that you start to get these little Pilla or drills looks like drill holes. So basically, the one that was nameless. Her brother was the ice that help people in place, and then Kutai yoke is actually just the effect of the ice has on the body. So again, kind of abstract out there. But you know, again, it for me, it's always about, you know, I'm a big believer in science and all those other fun things. But you know, for me, it's like, you know. Sometimes it's hard to explain you know, what we come across every day. We always wanna put a name to it or some sort of understanding and then later down the road, we realize oh, no. We were actually completely wrong in science actually explains everything right? Dammit. Dammit. Tell me about the beer, it's an imperial red ale. But not so imperial that. It's going to blow your socks off and ruin your night. It's still really drinkable. It's. It fits with their wind up. When you come to Queen city. This is one of the reasons that I like the brewery because I don't live very close..

It was moved away from Charlotte because of the controversial bathroom Bill went to New Orleans, and is back after some government business that needed to be done was done. So the game is back weekend. Is here got the celebrity all star game tonight. You've got of course, all star Saturday night tomorrow the game itself on Sunday. But before any of that. Beat Oklahoma City staff the thunders four game winning streak. Okay. She had won eleven of twelve but New Orleans gets a one thirty one one twenty to win. And while you would think it would be great. For them to be able to slide into the all-star break feeling wonderful about themselves after a very very good win. Now, the wind comes with controversy. Why? Because in the final minute of the first half, Anthony Davis. Yes, who was playing Anthony Davis banged into Nerlens. Noel tried to block the thunder centers shot. And he hurt his left shoulder any hurt his left shoulder, and he never came back to the bench after halftime. He left with his agent Rich Paul during the game to go. Get an M R I. A source told Ramona Shelburne that ADA is coming to Charlotte for treatment who knows if he'll play on Sunday at the all star game. It really just kind of depends, frankly, how he feels and on a night when the pelicans who need any good news. They can get get thirty three points. For Julius Randle at thirty two from Jrue holiday and hold Paul George who'd been red hot to eleven of twenty nine shooting and three for seventeen from the three point line. So what they gave up a triple double to Russell Westbrook. It says NBA record eleventh in a row, but on a night when the Pels did all of these things, right? It comes back down to the drama surrounding Anthony Davis. Did he leave the game because he's aggravated with the team? Would he have stayed for the second half before going and seeking an MRI had? Things been good between he and the pelicans had never been a trade request, and then a refusal to trade or to make a deal with the Lakers or anybody else before the trade request before the trade deadline. All fair questions. But Alvin gentry the head coach of the New Orleans pelicans who is in a very difficult situation gave his take on a D leaving the game. No,.

We're both kind of chuckling that we actually are pulling this off and having an illicit interview in some ballroom of hotel. No, no, no, no noun. Some of you may know NAN from her Instagram handle Queen city flower farm, and that's how I know you and you are based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Right. Yes. So okay. You're in Seattle. You wanted to tell everybody why you're the Pacific northwest quickly. And then we'll jump through the interview. Yes today, I spent a workshop at the herons would Dan Hinkley herons would propagating hardwood. So I have family in the north west. So I just use that as an excuse to come visit everyone and go to this workshop, I love woman who flies across country to take a propagating. It's really extravagant. You know? And I just wanna say there's something about your philosophy of life that have always appreciated and you brought it up to me a couple times about this. Like if there's three things happening I can get on an airplane and describe that a little bit because I think it's a good life philosophy. Right. So a lot of times I'll look at where these conferences are. And then I'll find just something else in the city that's of interest, or I may have wanted to do unfortunate to know a lot of people in a lot of different places accussed countries. So I can visit old friends sometimes their family. So I usually put three things together. And then then I can justify it. I love that. And I'm kind of same way in that. If I'm traveling, you know, I'm gonna find a flower farm, exac, someone interviews. So I think it's great sometimes you invite yourself too. But who would think there'd be a propagating class in the middle of January and the Pacific northwest a famous guard. And so I love that you did that. So when I knew you were you were in town. I was like, okay. Well, we're going to get together. And I want to get you on the podcast because I've had you on my wishlist for while. Not that you knew that. But you have such a great story. Let's talk about Queen city. Flour from you wanted to give us a little snapshot of where you are. And what that has has been for four years. So Quincy's fire farm is in Cincinnati, Ohio. I grew on less than a quarter of an acre. And I grew on a farm that was being so a young couple Lisa's land. They were going all the vegetables, they had livestock doing the whole local slow foods, and I had a conversation with Claire one day. And it's like, hey, come grow flowers on our property. So so they had extra land. Exactly. So I jumped in and just started growing and just really jumped in and sent like this was an offer. I knew was not gonna come again. Because as anybody in the city knows. Land is hard to come by. So so I grew. Two thousand fifteen when you start started or sixteen fifteen okay? Yeah. Nothing. I met you. Yes. So. I sold through farmers markets, and I had a couple retail florist, basically, the farmers markets were through Claire, and there I was just an added value to their produce. And then I solicited a couple of floors. Yeah. And you just did it. I just did it. Yeah. I jumped in and I joined the SE of g because like we don't need to reinvent the wheel from people who've gone me for me, and just you know, listen to podcasts and just dived in. Yeah. First. So I love it. You're like a superfan, or at least a super podcast listener. Because I was remind we've just set down a little bit before this. And I was remembering that out of the blue. You contacted me and said, maybe I'll meet you at the field to dinner in Brooklyn. I'm coming and because I had been working for that. And. I think that you heard about it on the podcast or something -absolutely. Yeah. So I have a long commute for my day job. And I listened a lot of podcasts. I I got in early on that game. And I found you at episode five looking for guard walking garden podcast episode five and we're now on episode like two hundred eighty now. Raising an easy. Wow. Yeah..

Flower farm in Cincinnati, Ohio, I met man virtually in two thousand fifteen when she emailed to introduce herself. It was a lovely note for a woman who would become a kindred spirit, and friend NAN wrote this, quote one base at a time that was the line that hooked me. I could make one vase. I'm a podcast junkie and Gardner, so flowers hit my radar either via Kendrew or Rizzi as early in the game. I listened all summer. I wanted to hang out with these people. I showed up at the ASEF g meeting in Delaware to explore more. I met you ever so briefly I. Came home wondering how can I be part of this movement? I could read between the lines people already owned their land. There was a husband or family in the background. But let's be honest. I'm single in my late fifties. And I wasn't about to leave. My good job with benefits. However one afternoon in late November, I had coffee with a local CSA farmer who had no interest in flowers, and she said NAN come grow for us on our land an offer I couldn't refuse. No details yet, but they've acquired him. That's awesome. Yeah. Sunny grades the little guy that the cubs always liked from Oakland. Yes. Yes. And he he was sought after by a lot of teams. And then he was promptly traded in turned into a horrible pitcher. Yeah. So I mean that that my guess is that lack of performance will probably continue in the Queen city. We stink. What to tell you? We have some better players east. Okay. Thank you. Appreciate that. Larry, you're on ESPN one thousand layers in downers what's up there? Good afternoon. I have two comments one is on the overtime. I get the fact that you can say told the defense to stop them defenses are tired at the end of the game. The fairway to do overtime is to give both teams equal possession. And when one team is ahead after equal possessions could be one could do whatever. Then it's over even even to make it sudden death after matching touchdowns the other team has an extra. So the first point is I think you'd give both teams equal possessions until someone's ahead beckoned. And that's the fairest way of on yesterday because fences tired, right? No, it's because it's fair because both teams gets the chance to the equal chances to score. The other interject this real close. How would you feel about the outcome of the first game? I know it could work out where it turns out there. But it doesn't always turn out fair the way I'm suggesting is if you give bulletins equal possessions. It's always going to be fair. So whether the team scores a touchdown or not it doesn't matter. The coin flip doesn't decided it's both teams had an equal amount of opportunity. That's that's in my opinion is the most fair way to do. But you can score on defense in the NFL. I get it. I get it. You're right. The defense shit stop. And why the other defense have to make this because they lost the coin flip. I just think it's fair might opinion. I respect your. You want the innings or like in the shootout where each team gets the same amount of shots. Yes. And I think that's then. Yes, the second team might have a little more of it manage because by going second you can go for it on fourth down where the first team. But it's still more fair to give equal possession then to potentially deny eighteen of either getting any possession or the same number possession. But one other comment on the saints the saints. I get the fact that they're upset what Peyton said and brief that. But if you go back to two thousand nine NFC championship game against the Vikings. There were six to maybe eight calls in that game that were horrendous all for the saints many of which were admitted the next day by the NFL including two and overtime that literally gave the saints bed game. And I think it's hypocritical of reason Peyton not to say anything they happily accepted that win. But they're upset about yesterday's. And the last communist why not just add one in the booth. Forget all the challenges. If you see that the past is incomplete if you see it should have been a fumble. If you see it was passed down to the field and say, here's the right call why what's wrong with adding a rough up in the booth. And I'll I'll. They basically have that in New York. You want morale river don't want more. L? I surprised that Al river on didn't go into his usual denial. You wouldn't that be great? If he told Sean Payton. You know, I like it was just an optical illusion. The ball was actually there at the same time. They hit occurred. But you just you don't have it. Right. That's how bad it was the NFL eve lied to us. It was so agree on has been doing this this deceiving act for years like with remember the touchdown in Newark New Orleans with Zach Miller, they told out to go get a sandwich that point. Then don't worry about it. We're not going to need you for an explanation. Look again, you can sit and you could give me a thousand explanations. This is just one of those things where I'm your party adamant about. I'm not going to get you know, four matching the innings or matching it like in college football that for that. I mean, what did they do this year? They the one changed overtime this year. Believe it was was they took it from fifteen to ten minutes isn't overtime ten minutes in regular season that yesterday was a fifteen minute period because you're playing. That you're actually starting a new game. Essentially, like when you halftime if for whatever reason to there's another halftime, everyone is back to the locker room, and they come back. That's the one change that. I wouldn't have a problem with if you wanna make the change that you play a set period of time ten minutes. That's why they're doing soccer. Right. And you guys are you don't have a problem with there's five possessions as five if there's one there's one right? So if you wanna do that, I would say okay now, people are going to suggest where you can't do that. Because you're exposing guys to further injury. Well, if you implement college plan, you're gonna think you could be out there for a day and a half, and again drives and understand why you don't want to drive. The college doesn't give you a dry. Why do you want to college overtime? I don't want to cause in the NFL. I think it's the best football way to do overtime right now. Like if you compare the two colleges better than the way, the NFL, but Sylvie. Because when overtime starts if you want to you can kick a forty two yard field. Right. It's at the twenty five twenty five. But most no, I know, but my. But the end medically in scoring position went on. Have you seen? Everybody's. Put it put. But you're talking about the NFL understand that dick Sylvia's point is. You take away the beauty and the drama of one of those historic drive. I'm not saying you should put the college in the NFL. I'm saying that it gives it gives both teams the equal amount of time to score. And both. It's fair is what it is. This is I know you're gonna say, well that's not fair. It's not fair. The way is if you want to make it fair just do ten more minutes. That's it is do play ten more minutes. And if there's no score after ten more minutes, then you play ten more minutes. I'd be fine with that. I'm not as hard and fast as Waddell. I wanna know. Are you guys having the same rules in the playoffs as the regular season? Do you want this changed only in the postseason you on this change an all regular season games? Will I think you should do ten minutes, regardless? I in the regular season. There's only sixteen regular season games. Vision ends in a tight ends in a tie the same way. If you go ten minutes now. Nobody's scores. It ends in a tie. The problem is you had the MVP the league didn't get to touch the ball in overtime. Because that's the first sixty minutes of the game the shoe's on the other foot and the chiefs win the toss and they get the ball. So we would be say the greatest quarterback of all time. In their logic. From my perspective is flawed as well, look if you go on and nine minutes and fifty five second drive and then kick a field goal. And that's how it ends. That's how it ends. But don't ended after two minutes. Then I think we should continue to further devalue defense. Let's continue the rules that further devalue defense. Let's just do that. Well, it is the tougher scoring teams made the made it to the final four. There is no value. I like the idea of imagining that John Elway's drive was actually twenty-five a three play twenty-five here. Exactly, these are legendary drives that engage in overtime. I love that. I I'm not for college. A you. You can definitely convince me into the ten minute. Just play. You know, you have ten minutes use your timeouts wisely. And you may not touch the ball equally is the other team. I'm totally cool. Without that is all good. Okay. There's one change that I could sign off on. It is a set period of time and the game isn't over until that period of time expire three three two three seven seven six. Lots of hot NFL chatter today. These Super Bowl is set in less than two weeks. Waddles world is coming up next is you've heard me talk about this.
