"Yeah, the only thing I would wrap up with. Is You know you and I both? Heard from some older folks in hockey or saying? Stupid. Name players. Will Never WanNa wear this? They'll be called crooked, so my God and the rebuttal to that is that a very small Brandon Committee and on that Brandon Committee was one Ron Francis who I dunno played twenty three years in the League has been around for frigate ever has known every hockey player ever. He knows what guys like and you know. He knows what is respectable. The fact that he signed off on it I. Think does say something. Yeah absolutely and also the fact that these players get money from this team and get a chance to live in the Pacific northwest, so I think even if someone says hey, you're crackhead. They won't care because they will be living in beautiful place being well compensated and playing for team. That'll probably be really good out the gate, because that nobody can keep their players because the flat cap anyways. Let's talk to an all the Palo Vars who's now venturing into new ventures. Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Pronger's. Joining us now. The line is Chris pronger. Hockey Hall famer former senior VP of hockey operations for the Florida Panthers, and now the man behind well inspired travels his newest venture. Need joins us now on ESPN, and let's just get this out of the way man. Business working on VIP travel. What you're doing now? We're a boutique luxury travel company that caters to elite athletes CEO's C level executives and business owners and high net worth clients. Now currently from wrong, but you've always kind of been interested in this space I remember covering you back in in two thousand ten in the in the final. When you like stealing pucks and stuff and you wearing you, where'd you wearing that hat of the company? That was like you could rent their their private planes. I had had a marquee jet on. Yes, good Mary's. So is this. I am I am I am I right in of drawing the connection that you've always sort of been interested in this sort of like? Travel Space. I I've always been the guy that that booked our golf trips or fishing trips. I I enjoy it, and got a passion for travel and the healing properties of travel from a mind body, Spirit perspective, and it certainly helped me. Kinda. Get get healthy myself in. You know early You know two, thousand, twelve, two thousand thirteen You know. My wife has had a number of Of things happen to throughout the course of her life with er, her father, being diagnosed with stage four colon cancer when she was a young kid, and and then obviously further down the line, he had a stroke and things of that nature self You know there's a lot of different. Things that have happened to the course of our lives that that kind of steered us in this direction. And you know I think it was. It was just the timing of it with our kids getting older, and almost out of the house and and US wanting to to build a business. It's something that I've always wanted to do. you know since I can remember is own my own company, and be my own boss, and and and run a company, and and try to grow it to the best of my. Chris you mentioned your health and you haven't played the league. It's bound to be ten years and your career ended with post concussion I. Know Sorry. Sorry didn't mean to rub it all in. Concussion. No No, no, but I'm curious. Though you did have a lot of elements you know and concussion. Stuff is scary and I know you also have some vision impairment Hit in the eye with a blade so I'm just curious how you're feeling now. You've any effects from any of that. yeah, I gotTa wear glasses, and my is get get tired of time for the. Sleep when I. Do get sleepy. It's mainly I related. where my is just get very very tired and they're. You've used US enough. It's time to go night. and and really you know from from the head, perspective and the concussions. Just just finding the right remedies and the right things that allow you to kind of. Clear your mind and refocus. There's there's so many different things that people can do. to try to get better, and and and so many people take different paths to get to that place, and and mine was with travel, and obviously put a lot of time and effort in working on my eye, which turned item, the stipulate concussion so very much I related you know so it it really the the the healing properties travel, and and and how all that kind of melts together, fit me personally and fit fit my life, and not everybody as I said are going to have the same issues that I had. And so you know whether it's Let's say it's marks of are getting hit and he just from the dizziness and. His was a little bit different than mine so I said just the difference in injuries in the difference in the types of injuries. Varies and can really. Guide you whichever direction you're looking at. Besides travel. was there any other therapy or treatments that you tried? Maybe we're experimental, maybe commonplace that you feel really helped you. Yeah I did a lot of did I went to the eye doctor, and did a bunch of I did a bunch of us a little bit later on once. They stopped playing and. Trying to him. I was blurry and found I needed to really read train my eye to focus properly and my my right I the I. that got.

"Talk about the Olympics next time. Let's do it absolutely a huge thanks to I. Guess Chris Pronger who is great getting him You know he kinda had not the most friendly reputation with the media when he played but he's certainly opened up his instagram his He's very open there and he seems like a pretty kind fellow and I I enjoy talking to a man I know what did too is is a guy who looked up to him But now we're GONNA move onto a weekly Mash segment where we let you know what superstars hurt from the last time out and unfortunately there's a couple of big names on the list Stamkos is hurt. He's going to miss six to eight weeks. After core muscle surgery. I mean Tampa's pretty firmly ensconced in a playoff spot right now but you know why you want to top guys getting fucking surgery this late in the season ranges they sit. They don't Trade Chris Kreider they extend them. They keep the next few years and what happens. He breaks his fucking foot blocking a shot. They haven't given timetable yet on his return. Originally Brock vessel was supposed to be re evaluated in a week out. Now it's going to be up to eight weeks. Saul not good another team. That's making a playoff push losing a key player Thatch Adecco has been named the comic started. In the meantime because Matt Bomb Oxfam's out In a couple of the deadline pickups by the oil. They're already dinged up. Andreas A thin anthony. Anthony Butch intimacy you. He suffered a lower body injury Wednesday. But it doesn't appear to be serious However was defensive Mike Green. We'll be out of action for three to four weeks with a sprained MC L. and Mark Stone. We mentioned a few minutes go. He's out with a lower body injury as well as status is still being evaluated so we don't have an update quite yet Couple of the notes show Jay Bo meets the his first game. Back at Saint Louis He was up in the press box or the teams box. Or whatever you gotta a really touching Steno from the blues fans Give a nice little wave. It's you know I mean the guy was fucking near death in you. Know he come back to is from that. Thanks to the staff and the the the fucking foul faculty over the Anaheim show is great to see him. Give full smile. How about Noah Chari wet? He cracks twenty goals for the first time created doubling his previous career. High Man. You'd love to have this guy in the bruins. Still what a season he's had. I don't know if I'll ever get twenty again. I'm sure he would actually admit that right. I mean some years everything. Everything goes perfectly everything goes in but he brings so much to the table. That scoring isn't really what you counted for accounting on him for when you sign them so to get all this. It's such a bonus because the guy plays hard. He's a streep piece. The Panthers All mad faulk. Jesus another skunk today. They lost three nothing. It's it's like one of the when they traded tro check. That was the weirdest train we talked about it. Then and then you just go out and you you see Hubert Oh and Barkov making like six million dollars that you have these two studs completely underpaid and you still can't even get in. I don't think they're gonNA get in the playoffs now. No I think they're toast and it's David Down. I don't know how many in a row they've lost at home might be ten. Yeah it's been rough sale and right now they are presently three points out of the second wildcard spot and they got Two teams between them so like I said before the right dead yet. But they're not dead yet but it's they they they they have yet to get consistent but Brodsky all season and only paying a guy fucking ten cheats. You should be getting Spencer night like the Best Goal in college hockey. You drafted him in the first round. It is what is going on there. No doubt about it well. It's been a tough break for a lot of these guys in if any of them have allergies as well they're going to need to check in with our friends at Roman No. It's not the usual.

"What he's read your Lynn. That's unbelievable I'm like Oh all right. He's like don't worry I won't tell anybody. Heck okay coming out tomorrow. I think everyone regular tournament. That's that's all so what about now. I mean you you and your wife started. I believe a travel company. Luxury travel how about you know what she It was her baby in the beginning. You know she's been trying to figure out something to do and our kids are getting older and you know we. We both have a passion for travel. it's something that She kind of took the reins on early and wanted to start a Website and social media and all that at the time I wasn't on social media as you know and I think the the the biggest point for her was when she was growing or her father had Colon cancer and and had stage four colon cancer and he wasn't in great shape so he wanted to travel with family wanted to go see parts of the world that he might not be able to see with them and so they go to China one year and they plan the trip these these trips. Kinda kept him going and he would go throughout the course of the year to his treatments and all the rest of that stuff and something to look forward something to look forward to and then they would go on another trip and they'd go to May go to Egypt and they'd see the Pyramids and do all that stuff and and then the next and as it kept going spurning him on and he you know he's wanting to get to that next trip wanting to so she sees travel as happiness and and power and healing people. And you know she. We've obviously talked about a lot of this stuff before. And she said you know I. I really wanted to do something. She's really into. Health and wellness and spirituality. And she's trying to figure out what to do and how to help people and we start talking about trying to mentor. Athletes and Mentor Players but but more importantly mentor the wives and the children. You know so when I get hurt everybody asks me every single day. How you doing you okay. You know when you come back you feel and how many times do you think somebody asked her the kids how they're doing zero you know so there's a there's an opportunity there to help mentor and helped athletes and their families whether whether it's post career and they're struggling with what to do next whether it's during an injury and you know their newly married and got a baby in the house. The wife's life gets an eyes wide open and like not knowing what to do. And you know. Try to be an outlet for that but so as we continue to brainstorm and talk you know we love to travel. We love seeing new parts of the world and creating experiences. I know when I played. I didn't have a travel agent and eagle back to the same place. You don't see anything new. You just get into your same old rhythm. I wish I had somebody like you're going to spend money on travel. This is what you should do. You know whether you want to you know. Our Niche is health and Wellness. And all over the world. But you know we obviously do everything and it when you're when you're talking to somebody and you're trying to steer them in the in the right direction to get asser questions you might think you. WanNa go to. Mexico would really mean the Caribbean. Yeah no the Bahamas or whatever or maybe mean you want to go to Africa and really want to go to Asia. And there's all kinds of questions that need to be asked and so anyways we start talking and and you know like what she's like. I want to start this. This travel business and I can be a consultant. I'm like okay great and then I went to Vegas for the travel show virtual so travel week. I had a blast. I mean these people are all happy. They all work together in in helping one another even though their competitors they help one another they they push business to one another they. I it. It's pretty impressive. The network of people in the hospitality industry that they sell happiness and they you know they kind of push to people and I wanted to be a part of it. It was. It was pretty neat. So I kinda joined forces with my wife and we rebranded our website while inspired travels dot com and We're now getting ready to kick things off and kind of get started but you know I think the value prop for athletes is the mentor inside and being able to travel places you may not have thought of and that you guys can fill them in on. We can fill them in on. We've got a great staff underneath us. doing the bookings and doing all that stuff and It's it's GonNa be Great. We're we're excited about it. We're we're just getting started in she's passionate about it. I'm passionate about it. Were Were invested in and WanNa. Y'All I think another important part of it is Is Flat therapy and We're donating Five percent of our commissions to world pediatric project which is An organization with the head with one of their headquarters is here in Saint Louis. They traveled to Third World Countries. And and and bring teams from the states down to Do Surgeries and help those either. That don't have the medical needs or don't have the money necessary for for Situations and and various Medical needs that that either can't be handled by the medical staff there Sometimes they'll fly them here if it's a more needy situation but we're We're excited to partner with them and help raise awareness about that. I got to potter. What's the Favourite PLACE? You've been so far. What place you looking forward to go to the most Favorite place I think it all depends on what you WANNA do. I was just down in Kabul after Christmas with my family and We went to a couple of great spots. Went to the new ritz-carlton Za Dune which was fabulous. Went to Great Spa Great. Great fitness in. What's neat now is because health and wellness is growing in. That industry is is growing leaps and bounds. When I was traveling when I was playing there was hardly. You can barely get a gym in a hotel now. They're building these big fitness centers inside the hotel or if it's in downtown quarter they're partnering with equinoxes and different places like that to to have a big. Jim like the one in Boston. I think it's the four seasons or the Ritz. The I don't know I mean I don't stay at those kind of hotel. He's on a trip with me. He's a big shot. I was GONNA ASK. Wears a fun place to go to where maybe your your ball and on a budget imagine him in. Asia just sticking out of the house were inches tall and we're in the luxury travel business fund. You problems all right. Let's stick to craigslist being trails. Going to Fort Lauderdale for. I've senior. Instagram you're pumping a lot of product. There are maybe I can get maybe give me a free trip and I'll give you swipe up quickly. Have you ever been on an African Safari? No but that's on the bucket list. I've got you know what since we started doing this and doing all the research and talking to people and Meeting People. It is impressive. How big my bucket list is. There's so many different places in the world that I WANNA see. There's a handful that I definitely don't want to but there's a lot of places in the world into Europe and I haven't been to Middle East I haven't been to Been to Japan a couple of times. I've never been to China and never been to Australia. Be another one terrible. What's going on there The Maldives and other one I'd like to go to Africa Uh South. America is a lot of spots. I haven't been to but if you go on wall inspired travels you can see map. Aw Clawed Frogs or borrow with visa footed on your Amex is it also getting people out of their comfort zones a little maybe expanding. Their Horizons Circus People. Sometimes like you said they do the same routine they go to Aruba. Maybe the same hotel at times. This is our hotel. Oh this is our this to go absolutely and by the way I was the exact same way we used to go to the same spot. It's either an easy flight or you like it there you. You don't want to try something else because it could not work because you're like. Oh Shit what if it does? What if it's not as good but when you have somebody doing it for you and checking on all those things and mapping out and coordinating and and making sure that all that is and probably better? Then that's what we do. We take the hassle out of it and there's a lot of people I used to book my stuff online. I used to you know and if you WanNa do that feel free. But there's a lot of people that don't have the time or don't have the wherewithal to know the no the GM or make a phone call to so-and-so or whatever to handle things in a little more professional manner right and get you the different perks that that are available that you need to know people for while Bronx. This was awesome We're done we go into the Olympics but fuck we. What are we done an hour and a half already buddy and listen? Let me tell you something fast. Which hotel the come up too? So we got him back. You got that. Oh God I remember the last thing. I'll say hey you gotta get him to tell you the story but when I would have been New Jersey there we go. That's one. Taurus offers only right there. Last thing I'll say is when I signed on to go to the National Development Program One of the top eighty-three birthdates in America. Thanks a lot. The Guy sent me the guy everyone a piece of paper. What do what do you want for equipment? I need to know what skates what sticks because you want. I just sent a picture of the tongues out the long gloves and this Guy Jose. I wonder if he'd remember the stories that you've sent me a picture. Chris. Pronger asked you kind of gear. You WanNa she wanted to look like him so to get interview. Now was really cool. Thanks what's crazy. Is that same guy? You're talking about Jose Ortiz. Yes was my equipment manager and I got the Saginaw Spirit. No so off the bat during a shepherd podcast with prongs we'll have him on hall of Famer supposedly on fifteen minutes because we don't want to know too much.

"Philly when you're golly they're coming for Philly. So what what precipitated your trade from Anaheim to philly another great conversation with GM he took over from Berkey and now I think just wanted to remake the team in his own. You know in his own way. I was the norm was there guy and I was the guy that teams would want and he started shopping me. He felt that they bought it heads. Because of that. Did you feel that at all And it wasn't it had nothing to do anything with personal view it just it was more of his relationship with Lavi. Could I see that you know not really I bet again? I wasn't paying attention and what Richie was doing. And you know the private conversations they were having. I wasn't privy to it You doing your thing Yang. I'm doing my thing I'm preparing. I'm trying to lead by example and I. I'm there to help. I was brought in to help support Ritchie and help him Become the leader. The best leader. He could be and to help our team win. You know at the end of the day. It's about winning and You know we came up to game short against the team that turned into a dynasty. By the way there's another team you know we talk about Carolina. I don't did. They have a really good team. Yeah they had a way better team than Carolina had but I still think we should have beat them. We were winning game. One like four one at one point and we lost six five and then we lost game two to one. We Lost Game Five. We were never ended. I was done like. You're like Whitney with the golf shots. You can remember every game in play those games. Yeah there's a lot of games I can't remember but the ones that hurt my feelings bad. The game got suspended. Shit Games losses going back to that series against Chicago you in Gaza not buff. Well yes they. They had something going on. But in the media wise Birch all pick out the Parker and eager and eager. Yeah yeah they didn't like that. I don't know why you picked up there because now everybody realized now where does it say on the Puck in? Is there a rule in the book that says the winner gets keep the puck? Did you have like a big Washington pox in your garage? Zero look I last time I read the rule. There's no rule in there that says when you win the game you might put one now the prongs now. It's clear that that you did it out of spite and you're better about the game but you know it's funny because the media gets around with it. It's another story line did you. Did you purposely do that just to try to get in their kitchen? I did it the first time to Piss them off. Yes the second time I had a pissed off and I'm like you know when a team they always do this stuff after the Games and the show. The here's the board. We're keeping pucks and not getting this going to be a fake. You first game. We Lose Ed's over there are going to snap. I wish I would've kept game one. I never did. I got it. I got no room and I just checked it in the garbage. I kept game too. I still got I shoulda brought it. What about we can show they come to the the blackhawks organization so you know what for all these years of hurting my feelings? I'm finally ready to go. Sure spikes it still thinks I had game six but I wasn't even on the ice. So how can I get it not even saw the thing? Go in besides Kane. I want to go back to the series students. Please do a- against the Bruins you have been part of a comeback like that before down old tree and coming all the way back auto. Three down three one. Okay yeah in Saint Louis Sir. We beat Phoenix. They were up three one against we came back and won. No that was But you know what it's funny we were down three nothing and we easily could have been up three nothing like they were super tight games. Both teams are playing. Good it just. They started they got the bounces when they needed them. And once Richie ran over criterion. Yeah screwed up his arm. They didn't have the depth up the middle. We kind of took over from there and won game four in overtime And then kind of took charge of the series from there so unfortunately like not for for most guys at the careers end in a tough way and glad to see you doing great now but there were some tough times on. Want you fill everyone in for what happened. I think it was a stick in the eye. And Yeah you know I gotta stick right in my eyeball as stick was coming up. I moved if I had not move. That would have probably shattered my orbital and all that stuff but may not have done as much damage The brunt force of the stick was totally into my i. I had like a one stitch Kat and the rest of it was trauma inside. I am it was bleeding and So I had a concussion that I got diagnosed with later obviously had some trauma I was blurry and much other stuff but Yeah that was. That was nice. What's the very first headman that happens like when I got hit? Yeah like fucking get off the ice get off you know you you get hit like that and you go down for like that. Split Second. You're like in your head you're like get off the ice you know. I just do not lay on the ice. Get up. Get the hell off and figure out what's going on because I could see you know you're kind of not opening. You're you're Kinda looking for blood you're you know you don't know you know what hit you in the. I don't like all faulk what. What is the outcome of this going to be like right jeeze so it was? You know scary initially But how old are you at that time? Thirty seven so it's like. Did you have any idea at that point? When did you realize all right? I'm probably this probably done why I get hurt. I lay in bed for nine days. You know try to get the swelling out You know putting these drops in to get your flush out the blood Then I right I. I had a bike in my house so I wrote a bike for five minutes. Like super slow then. I went outside for a walk then the next day I went on the ice at the rank and then the next day I practice the day after that I played nine days so I didn't feel good playing but I'm like well I just took two weeks off so I'm thinking in my head I'm justifying it as You know I'm lightheaded. I'm a little Dashi so I'm like well I'm just I'm out of shape. You can spend it. That's how I felt every during normal normally I feel nothing. How'd you play those games? You remember I was all right. I wasn't great. The first game was actually in Tampa when when we held it like all right. Here's how they're going to do. They're going to stand there and those all right. We're just GONNA stand here. You see me one time. Like come already. And he's looking over the bench ago. You don't have to look at him. You can come on come on so that one game was nothing like it was a no hitter Then we went down to Florida We won that game and then we went to Carolina and I slid on a two one. It's weird like slash two one fresh cut I slide and Kinda run into the boards and I just could feel my head Bam oh boy and I kind of jarred me again and the whole time you know you get a little bit of headache. Your little lightheaded dizzy and almost like it'll go away. It will go away so then the next game at home we're playing Phoenix and handle hits me from behind and kind of elbows me in the head and I you know I felt it then I frigging snapped and I look at the REF. I you know the first reaction going to see if it's going to be penalty. I I look and instead of frigging attack him. I go right at the REF. I'm like what the fuck you fucking stupid idiot. Yes and you know which normally I would went the other way but in this day and he started doing stupid shit and kind of I mean I chase them all the way to the penalty box. Get away from me. I'm like no. Why is that not a bucket penalty and then the last game was in Winnipeg? You know allow that building was this was there. I might have been the first year. It was crazy it was it was the first year it was so loud so loud and I was like Oh guy I gotta headache. I'm lightheaded. I was doing shit on the ice. Remember Tanner. Glass said a coincidental penalty. And I knew he was in the box and go back. I pick up the PUCK and I knew he came out and I'm like I just picked up the puck and just casually turned into him and thank God. He kind of saw me and hit me. We could fricking killed me. He could have killed me and I never do that. And I'm just like sums up. I went to take a one timer and fell down. I mean it was not pretty okay. Finally I went off the ice and after the game like we're going home. I need to see a doctor. This is not good sums up some not normal here now. Normally it would go away or you'd start feel a little better. There was going the other way so I'm like something's going on here is not right. So then that that's it and Faulk man how long how long have you? You know just sitting in the dark room and trying to get your head longer. You foggy for so so then I went and I went to. Pc UP EMC EMC in in Pitt- and Mickey Collins and worked with their group for better part of four months probably and just trying to get a handle on things and figure out. And he's looking at me you know we're going through my chart and he's looking at my injuries and he's looking at my head stuff and he's like well. How many concussions? I go walk documentary zero zero. He's like wow. Maybe I don't know I mean I know you can't even I mean I don't know.

"If the rules went into a fact what the way they were Mardi Saint Louis Sergei Gonchar and me and they said we're going to stick with the current rules this year which made it thirty one So the three of US could not be free agents and then we're going to start the next year and I and I was like all right this shit and then GonNa actually signed the next year. He just waited. Yes with Pitt. But you had already had re upped so I didn't realize that so there was three guys. They got screwed out of the lockout amongst a whole host of players but out of the free agency side we got screwed and I just had I waited. I could have picked where to go. Did you did you. I mean aside from that awaited bent over on how much money you mean. I still think you may still hundred. I should add one hundred. Going into that season we're expectations that high to have so much success in Edmonton I will say this. I really liked our team. You know we brought in Michael Pekka as a season when we run in Yaro Spacek. Jason Smith Rousseau's was solid Matt. Green was a young kid coming in. We had mark Andre Berge around who I played with enough. We had a young Ham ski. We had a whore cough. We had the moulet Ryan Smith. We had Just taking your shots that one. Let's get you Steve. Stale Sweet Ethan. Moral we had a good guys and it was a great locker room and I like the way we played. We played an up tempo. Physical style. new Makati under MAC daddy who I played with and talking a couple of guys when I came in. Oh thank God. You're here and I'm like why we know we know you can T and you know you're up here and we need days off. We never get days off. Well you never get days off because you guys run so hard to pick and choose your spots. Guys you gotTa slave or they were insane. Long Raffi Torres. There was there I heard a young solely hemmer a good group of guys but he also I. I'm trying to explain it. I go guys I will get days off. I need to put the work in on the ice and I will get us days off but you gotta take care of yourselves. In the days off I go. There are going to be green lights and you guys can go run amok and do what you do but you gotta take care of yourselves. We gotta play so it took a little bit of time but you know I would just go in and tie with some days. I was tired but I'm like fuck it. They're not they're not getting it yet. We need to practice to sum up. How much how much fun they're having Wrath Torres. You know you ask. What was the run length of time and it always giving that look like I used to pull up the club? I used to toss my car. Keys are highs. I could in the air and let the let the Valet guys fight over the club. Taurus saying the story like zealous but that year. I mean you guys just sneak in the playoffs and rollason catches third second last game. Second last game. We beat Anaheim in overtime so inconsistencies throughout the year. Where you're like what we'd be Colorado. Pardon me it'll be Colorado and overtime yahoo just you know. We didn't have a number one. Goalie Cox is having a tough year. Juicy Markkanen was okay but he wasn't having a stellar year. We didn't have number one. I mean we lost the Saint Louis twice we outshot them forty two fifteen and I think we lost four to five to fifteen shots on that. You can't win four. We had forty shots on goal and they were good shots. I'm just like we can't be losing these games. They were dominating the game. We got the PUCK for three quarters of the game. We lose so it just once we got roll and we got comfortable with him. Then it brought the other guys up. You know when you're not a number one but your number two and you have a number one that elevates your play because you know you don't have to go every night you could prepare the way you're used to preparing and be a number two and you're seeing how a guy who's done it for a long time. Gets it done so but that so in? Saint Louis you guys win the presidents trophy losing the first round fast forward a few years you get. Detroit. Hundred Twenty four points first round this year when you're on Edmonton and you guys get a win there. I mean how going into that series. What was even the approach? Like how do you? How do you beat this wagon of of an a team of all stars? There's a couple of things one we went to and to that you're against them so we knew we could number two. We were young and cocky. And you know I don't care where that is yeah Enough number three which is so stupid. We used to go to onto on a four check while we went into the trap. We went one to two and I heard the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Somebody in Detroit now. I don't think it was a player. It was like the media. All they're cheating they're cheating. They're playing the trap harden. I'm I'm sorry. Well they always plant is two one two. Why are they doing the one to two? I'm like let's call it an adjustment. They're like dumbfounded that were playing as a patient. Gain this young group of kids playing this young patient game and and trapping and Moody talking. I'm like what do you that's what you play like. Go left wing lock and you play at one to two. I'm sorry we're cheating makes no so anyways. We played hard play physical. We played fast. We got timely saves and goaltending not. We were not scared. We felt like we could beat them so you it obvious at that point. You're the guy in the locker room. We kept everyone accountable. One of the things that keeps getting brought up on the podcast when your name comes up specifically is how after a period. If you didn't if you weren't happy with the performance by some guys you have no problem coming in and saying wit. What the fuck is that? Twenty minute game starring hour ago he also go this way. I think of him intermissions Bronx. He'd be cut his fucking fingernails. I don't know why you did that. Every American and then he'd be like let's go over the blind. You know who you are. I heard you know who you are five thousand times for how season you know you are you. Did everyone knew who you knew who you were. What was it like? Continue to be calling guys out. Let's go you know what because we were young group we had we had you know. Gator WARRIOR HARD NOSE. Quiet leader You know I think early on. I was harder on guys just to. We're here to win. Yeah we want to have fun and we WANNA party. We want to do all the things that happened in the NHL. But we're here to win hockey games and play the game. I think once we figured that out then my other guys took charge and other guys like. Hey let's go you know where you start in morals talking to his line and and hawks talking to his line and and Stevie is talking his partner. And I'm talking to gator Mark Andrei and like it now. It becomes a culture and a team and and guys are looking for one another but they're also like hey you better get your shit going. Hey I've seen you can be better. And and also on the flip side the positive side Yuli. Hey Great Shift. Great great period. Let's get another one of those you know just you know it's not always about Jabeen guys. It's fun doing it but also the the positive when guy makes it. Great Passer Sacrifices himself. You know that Detroit series. I think that was one of the biggest things that I noticed about our group. We're trying to lock down a game and Sean Hoare. Cov Dives two seconds left and he dies face. I drove waukesha sacrificing. Guys start believing in guys understand what's at stake and how bad you WANNA win. That's when you see things take hold and leadership and you don't have to say much when you see that because guys the metrical did you see Horgan so number one center on the team and he's diving face I the block a shot and one thing for you to run but still point you probably halfway through your career and with that team. That's the first time at any point you'd made a run for. Yeah no absolutely. So how much did you take away from that in in transitioning over to Anaheim and I guess that goes back to when we interviewed Brian Burke without all I got more questions about Edmonton Segue I got? I was just GonNa pump his tires in the fact that when you did end up going over in Anaheim Brian Burke when they had their meetings to address what they needed address in order to maybe get over the hump they said. What do we need and and Brian Burks? Answer was Chris pronger. Yeah well and they got him. We'll get there by questions you get to the finals. Okay and fucking four roles and he gets injured in game one but not only. Did that happen in Game One? You scored the first penalty shot and Stanley Cup finals. History what do you remember? Yeah exactly you gotTa always trying to glance over that and bring that up. Didn't WanNa tap me too hard. I how did you even get the shot? Here's the thing I was on the ice with the fourth line. George Lock wasn't going take chopper was out there and I can't remember what you say about. Fourth Liners yes. No they were a valuable part of our team and was not taking out. Guy Covered up the pocket in the crease. Also his hands. Okay so you pick anyone. We practice shoot practice shootouts every practice. I always scored got my move. You saw in the video The fun part about that is that I hurt my back lifting like four days before that because we had a nine day break which that makes no sense not win and five. And you'RE GONNA penalize us for not going seven doesn't make sense so nine days off. I'm lifting whenever I kinda tweaked my back. Mike. Oh Boy. This is not good. We're three days so I'm taking flex all flexible. So I'm on a little muscle relaxer. If you notice in the video I'm like at the far end kind of guy mostly was I was relaxed. Commute Orlando another one. I was like who the white by move wonder. Teams thought getting like aspirations shit. We can win. The copy was an after the Detroit series always a couple more series later like I think I think we gained confident confidence with the Detroit win. I think as we went along we were down to nothing to San Jose coming into on and know that that's down to nothing. We lost two one goal games. Tough Games in San Jose. Then we come home. And they were hall. Ron Wilson Co. I ran into him. Walking into the rank and chest was puffed out had was minimum. Okay we'll take over. They get up for in game three. I think they were up three nothing. I mean they were steamrolling. Us and Nabokov went out to play. The park screwed up. Sammy Samsonov puts it in and it just we made a save. We scored a goal and the momentum just flipped..

"You can leave the jumping test. I like no then and I knew right away. They told me they were taking him. I think prior to the draft had already signed so we knew right away that he was going to the intrigue was San. Jose had the second pick and we knew that they loved Viktor. Kozlov had already scouted the Bejesus out of him. I Dunno spent countless hours watching them and we all knew that he was their guy because he was supposed to challenge deg for number one overall in the draft and had a tough year and slipped a little bit and it was I'm the night before the draft. My Agent Patty tells me you know you gotta stay in tonight. Just don't go to harass Quebec City. Come on exactly so me and my brother went out that night on the dance floor and I look up there. Rick bowness head coach of Ottawa. I know he's not drafting me anyway. So that's great. That's hundred so crucial end up drafted by half it. Will you just happen to be drafted? A WE KINDA bummed out because the situation with the team where the fuck happened. I wasn't I didn't I don't know much about it but you know news. Some of the players that were on their team and not personally but knew of them and and obviously watch them play and I was intrigued by the trade burkey made to move up to get me and kind of his vision for what he had plans for in Hartford. And you know to be honest with you. I just wanted to play in the NHL. I didn't really care where it was. I was just excited to try to make the team and be a part of the NHL on live my dream. That was a pretty young team to there was a lot of. Was there a lack of leadership on that team? When you were there would you say no. I think Pat Verbeek was a great captain He was a madman wasn't he? Yeah we had him. We had Andrew cassels. I think just you know from from the ownership. It was kind of hopping around moving players around and moving pieces around the trade. That really hurt him. Was Ron Francis straight to you know it. I think that kind of set them back where it had. He still been there. That would have been a focal point of our team for a long time and You know they just didn't get enough back for so two years there and talk about given up on a guy quick. I mean granted Brendan Shanahan. But you're coming into your own and like you said it would take you a year to figure it out for you started dominating. We're you shocked when you got the news. And how did you find traded? It's so funny I end the year out zapped allocco then we play path year. I have a meeting with Jimmy. Rather for new tells me Chris Rebuilding around you. You're you're you're first. You're our core piece words a strong so as soon as I hear that in legal boy this is. GonNa be a tough goal and in my contract it said I had to train in the summer in Hartford and I said Jimmy. I gotta be honest with you. I cannot come back here and trained in the summer. I cities adopt twenty years old. It was a tough couple years living in Hartford. I live with a great family. Great friends to to this day there amazing but other than that. It was tough. Yeah there's nothing I was still twenty years old. I couldn't quote. Everybody knew how will they was a thank? God there was no social media. That'd be done but it was. It was tough so I was like you know what I want to stay home. So mid mid Summer Paul. Holmgren flies up to meet with me. Who still head coach and see how I was doing. My training was going. We go fishing for a couple of days. He's flying home again. Know cell phones flying home and he stops eve flies through thunder bay any calls back to the office and she goes so. How is Chris Good well I just want to let you know. We just traded them all away literally just spent three days with our head. What did I say Jesus Homer? He really had my doctor go home. Could send me up to three days exactly so. Do you think that that had something to do with it? No no no no no not at all not at all he. He just left. And then I got a call from agent and I'm sitting there with my friend. He goes Who is living with me in the summers? And you get the call and I'm talking right really. Oh and all of a sudden my vase perks up and I'm smiling and he goes what's up. I go just got traded to Saint Louis Awesome boom. It's been the top off a bottle of whiskey and had a great night. I mean you get to Saint Louis and talk about you go from a young team in Hartford with not much success. Now you're in a room with Brad Hall Alma Guinness Gretzky. Was there the first we traded for? So what a difference and like are you going into that room pronger of nowadays where you're loud or you just kinda quiet at that point? I I can't ever picture you not being very loud and every law wasn't necessarily loud you know. I think more more so during a game in the locker room you'll with fewer Z. Frizz ease of quiet and in his in his own but fears Ian holly-hollywood pretty much an offset right there. He took the room. Jeff courtnall Al. We a lot of veteran leadership. Craig tavist was there We had a lot of guys so I didn't really have to see much for sure. I couldn't even imagine the amount of jokes and chirps go mark. Berge was there all him. Him and cardinal were relentless on one another just pulling Pranks Leptin really talked to court and although he was over to her. Those two are like vicious. Berge was on the cover of the hockey news as the funniest guy in the NHL when he was on the blues as a gesture. It was Yeah we had some good times at first coach in Saint. Louis Mike Keenan. What was your relationship with him. Like right away. He was known for his head game. Yeah it was. It didn't get off at a very good foot I was excited to be in Saint Louis but didn't train very well that summer. I probably was a little excited about The Moven didn't fit training into my schedule to put it lightly. I knew I forgot. I got their starts getting with the guys and whatever and you know. We do our view to testing you know. He was huge into fitness testing. And it was not very good but I always worried about being able to play the game and not worrying about that stuff and be was not happy and I was not the fat club but the Bike Club. Jersey was in the fat club with me under the bus for different reasons sent he home and told him to get into better shape. We were both riding a bike and and get no one another but that first year was tough here in Saint Louis. It was being booed every night traded for a fan favorite Shani was beloved here and it was. It was hard I. There was a lot of a lot of nights going to the bar by myself after games. Thursday and Saturday nights where it was like. Okay just take the pain away this brutal. Yeah boy I was thinking about a year. You're what's twenty twenty? I just turned twenty one itself yet. Yeah was training something that you hadn't really gotten into yet being physically dominant as you were for your age all those years and then and then all of a sudden was that something that just made it click because from what I hear. You're you're known as a workhorse on and off the ice yeah. I didn't train a ton I lifted wasn't Hartford would in the offseason. I didn't have a regimen. I didn't have disciplined in. How aid and discipline my training schedule. And all that stuff. I was still pretty raw and just relied on my talent. And and my hockey sense to kind of navigate around the rink and didn't have the physical aspect cornered yet and he was all over me and you know we had a lot of guys in that team that I was in great shape. And I'll introduce me to Charles Polokwane. Who became my trainer? And you know has taught a lot. You won't talk every Robertson and resurrected gay Roberts's career and you know he's been a staple for in the in that field for a long long time and recently passed so wrestle but he was unbelievable for me when I first met him I am. I'll came into Seattle and I walked into Al's house and Charles our walk towards me. It's like five steps from here to that wall and I walked the five steps. You can get a sore knee left knee I go yeah because the left shoulder rotator cuff issue. I go yeah. Five steps pinpointed. Everything those wrongly and then he does the fattest and I'm like tall and skinny. I'm like I got this. He goes you're fourteen percent like what just from pitching you all like all he had that I was GonNa say real for me anyway so I'm like. Wow that's is amazing and then. I start training and following his protocol in the supplements. And you know eating habits in how you eat and when you eat and then you start seeing the results next year and the rest of the sister just owls became Iran on we would he basically turned me into a binge drinker. Because he's gotTa Stop Drinking. What am I do. I'm going to weddings. I'm going to this. I'm going to go. That's not GonNa Happen. But he's at K. I would rather you drink twenty four beer in one night then. Drink six four days. Yeah he's he's I it does it do you do it one day. It's the same damage as six as twenty four. How many awesome man? I'm going hard. Tonight's I'm driving one guy over from China right now who drinks like the hunter drinks in a row. But you didn't have social media the time exactly so I go out one night with somebody's all right. I'm driving. I'M NOT DRINKING I. I mean I literally had my calendar and know drink. This is a check mark so I go out and I'm like I'm not a big pop drinker soda pop for You Americans out there losers Paul. It's part go back to grab a coke and not paying attention you know. I'm not drinking so I'm kind of bored. What am I doing? You know next thing you know Got A toll Paca Cogan next thing you know. I got six more. You know I leave this party. I'd like to. I wake up in the morning with the biggest hangover I've ever had in my life. That just tells you how much sugar and how much crap isn't a coke. Yeah it's disgusting. Yeah so I don't drink pop anymore. Chris. When you're at Saint Louis playoff success kind of eluded the team. You had here sorry.

"And Tom. Kite will come up on the T. So Tom Kite was a really good player. For Longtime Therese Stone. Cold Tops One into the Gallery abode twenty five or thirty yards to the left of the Thi box any. He raises his shoulders up. Like right like we would do like. Oh My Gosh. That was terrible. It's you really got to see it. It's don't even have time to scream for. The whole thing was that that thing was a kill shot bullets into the crowd. We've got ask green drinks coming up some real great submissions raindrops dot com. You can check us out there or you can check us out on rand's on twitter as well social media channels instagram at Cetera. We're GONNA take between the benches and ray you want to talk about mark. Gorby ask the Ottawa. Senators and I fully endorse this discussion. Because I don't quite understand the approach of Peer Dory and I get it. He's got a slew of free agent sells top of the pages. Jj Patio. I get it. I get it but Kenny Hall and the Edmonton oilers appreciate recognized. What Zack Kassian brings to that organization? So they re upped Kassian four years at three point two. I think that's fair. Value for Zack. Kassian all provides Mart Barbie. That's for me doesn't get the credit for being good hockey player as he is but beyond that. What more can this guy do for the Ottawa senators and yet he and his family are being held hostage here. He doesn't WANNA leave Ottawa. I mean give him a contract extension of three or four years at two and change per and he's probably happy as can be while three years and six million bucks seems pretty easy. The Guy Wants to stay there. He's he's he is. He has been as loyal and as effective as he possibly can be. He lays it out on the on the line all the time. I was in buffalo the other night. He got hurt in the third period. He got his skeet kind of kicked out from underneath them by Kyle Okposo Yeah. He looked like he had heard his hamstring and his back kind of so he comes but he ends up coming back in the game. They're defending lead with the empty net. He blocks two shots from Marcus. Joe Hansen in about five or seven seconds and then banks off the boards for the empty netter in the room after the game. All the comments coming out of there were just the guys just they love them and I think to me of of the decisions that Dorian has to make this as an easy one. Because I don't think the return if you decide to trade bore. Viet Ski is going to be enough for you to make a significant difference in your overall plant he is. He is part of what you need on a team. And aboard the Eski was available for trade. I could see him One of those guys that nobody really talks about it the deadline he gets raided and then in five weeks ago while that was a really good addition because he didn't cost much and man that he play his ass off for us. I I like bore. Viet Sqi a lot and he would be for the guys that have to come in to adjust to a new system. He is about as low maintenance as there would be. And Look. I don't mean to peck at at Paradorn. I gotta believe gotTa believe that. Mark Mortgage is a priority because of everything that he brings to the community and to the Ottawa senators. Well so I hope so because he deserves it to us lots of times guys get signed you you don't you don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other but Viet Ski deserves to be signed. Let's go to the mail. Bag Right As Iran Drake's and question one is from Carol Anne and Caroline says I truly appreciate your guys awesome interview last week with Jayna Hefford? How big do you believe? The women's pro game could become in North America if it was supported by the National Hockey League and its teams and television partners like has happened with the NBA to grow the W NBA. Well when you say how popular I mean are you talking about the number of teams are you talking about the viewership. I think all encompassing it'd be supported and if it had the backing of the National Hockey League would it become as popular potentially as the WNBA? Tough one that's a tough one because you got to remember here you're starting from Ground Zero the NBA's got twenty year head. Start on you And there were lots of years where the WNBA was Kind of in the Wilderness. A little bit right like it was It was a less notable product because people were had to learn about it. If you want eight or ten or twelve teams you gotTa think that's roughly twenty two players per team. That's one hundred seventy ish players where they all come from because you want the quality to be as high as you can. And that's why I think a sixteen league sounds best because you're you're still talking about one hundred and twenty to thirty players you you would have to realize that of course that there would be injury so you'd have to bring people in can they all be from North America or are you going to bring players from from Europe to play if you bring players from Europe. How how do you? How do you pay them? How do you make it worth their while to come and play? And there's a lot of challenges and a lot of work to to getting it off the ground and then once it's off the ground that's just can be the launching point. I don't I don't have a great answer for but tight one. Because there's there's a lot of moving parts to it yeah thank you to. Caroline for that Just two questions. This week great. I'm busy I get stuff to do. Good metoo along from you and not to go all the on you you and says and he loved the digs by the way at Duffy last week. Who's enjoying Miami and Super Bowl by the way? How does Dorothy end up with the third best? Hairdo on that panel. Go Luke. Wilson's got the wild hairstyle. Jabari greer's right down to the would do it. And he's got whatever he does on his head but but James carries an entourage with him right like he's got make people that they might hire locally but I think they actually travel somebody from Toronto to look after and manage the hair. See I feel like I can make comment on hair. Because of my lack thereof right like what's he gonNA say? Oh you've got terrible hair. I know yeah see. I think he dips and he swears he doesn't. I I think that there's been a considerable M- amount of hair dye applied to James Dot these coloring over the years really. We'll we'll have to investigate this at the finals. Make the haircuts the same day or the every time I bring it up. He denies it so he'll denied again. Anyway I derailed. This thing you an is using Duffy as a jumping off point and he says which of the current First Round playoff matchups besides the battle of Alberta. Do you find the most intriguing and hope happens. Un says for him. It's the Bruins and the underrated Columbus Blue Jackets. He thinks could be a six seven game series and an upset special in the making with Elvis shutting out. The bruins possibly. What's your best match up? Who else do we have do. We no no not really I mean Tampa the Tampa Bay lightning Florida. Panthers could be a match up. I Dunno it. Wouldn't it wouldn't have the wide appeal. But I think it would be really cool to have the two teams from Florida. Play play against each other Now is there any way Boston? Philly can play affiliate up the second or yeah l. Boston would have to win the division. Then after billy would have to end up as the second wildcard. Yeah which is possible. Yeah we'll see. That would be a series. I would want because it takes me back to the Old Stanley Cup. Final and stuff like that. You know the one year were Boston. Had the three nothing lead in Philly came back and won four three after David. Krejci broke his wrist and That would be but I. I know if Columbus in a series it's going to be a physical one and yeah so I I don't I don't I don't know unless you unless you're given me exact examples. It's pretty tough to come up with a series isn't it? Yeah but let's thank you in any way. We didn't really answer his question or give them anything to work with but I'd say you added nothing to that fair enough. We have a number of great sponsors on the raindrops eggs. That sounds right. Yeah that's right. Okay so I. My Fan says Kansas City because I liked the way they play in love watching Pat. Mahomes play but I think San Francisco is just too good this year. Really really good. I'm with you. I Love Kansas City and part of it for me not to just pile on James Duffy. I mean James. Duffy is a lifelong San Francisco. Forty niners fan. Oh does he ever? Yeah and we don't have skin in the game. He seems to so. That's just extra incentive for me to cheer for the Kansas City chiefs while I guess so what you're saying. You're not really cheering for somebody to win. But you're hearing for James to lose.

"I mean it's just sticking it to the owners one more time intentional or not. I mean not again speaks to. What is a real legit rivalry in the National League? Okay when Jose Batista had the Bat Flip in Toronto when they had that crazy seventh inning In the in the playoffs if united mind that either okay but at the time I hated it. I'm like man you hit your home run you should be pomp and you throw your arms up in the air if you want and because a lot of things had gone on to build the momentum to that moment much like riddick's poke check last night but I didn't like it the more I thought about it. I'm like why don't I like it like that's crazy not to like it like we want the players to show emotion and they've clearly there was so much built into that. And when when I look at it now and I see the highlights of Batista's flip the backflip. I'm like of course he should have done that. Like that was that was great. I would've I would've wanted to do the same thing for sure. So when I saw David Riddick yesterday we we talk about all. It's entertainment as well while man the guys pumped he's in the other building and he's it's like a mic drop like. I thought it was awesome. Yeah and remember. Last year he had they were in overtime. And Johnny gdre think they were in Denver and Gujral had a breakaway in overtime. And before it was in the net riddick had his arms up in the air. He was way out in front of the crease. And I'm like man that's part of his personality. Other guys aren't going to do it but he did. And I don't have a problem with it at all. I'll tell you what if that's me. I'm riding my stick and I'm slapping. My backside do everything within my own realm of possibility to piss off the wall. And you know that they're looking at it and they're like screw you pal. Like they hope riddick play Saturday. They hope they can get one hundred twenty three goals on him right like they just they don't they wouldn't like it but I thought it was. I thought it was actually a pretty cool ending to a terrific night hockey. It really truly was. It's episode seventeen of the rain rigs hockey podcasts. We've got Chris pronger standing by as we've alluded to Ray. Let's get into this week's top five headlines. The presentation of our bowels at lagaras jewelers. You can check them out at LAGARAS DOT com for all of your Valentine's Day shopping needs to remember use code Ray ten and you'll save big box. Lagarto DOT com earlier in the season. You referred to the Vancouver canucks Raymond as the best team in Canada now in fairness it was early in the season and they went through some tough times. Some Dark Times Ashley. Right after I said that here like oh thanks. Yeah in that market. You probably took some heat. It was my fault but back on top in the Pacific division a bit of a sloppy division to say the least but Diaz stand by that claim today given the fact that they've gone through adversity they faced some challenges and they've come together as a team. I still I think if I were do select today I would. I would have Toronto in front of them. Only by a miniscule margin. I Vancouver's the type of team. That would be a bear to play against in a playoff series and In talking with Travis Green. Their head coach one of the things he said that That is really a strength of their team. Is they kind of figure it out themselves? The players like as they play. What's their best style? What's their best way of playing? And they are aggressive. They're fast the really skeet. Like push the pace travis. Wants them to be aggressive in almost every spot around the ice. They've gotten excellent goaltending. Whether it's Jacob Marks Jerome or fatter dempo who was unreal against Saint Louis the other night They've got this consistent high end production from Quin Hughes. Who's had a terrific year? He scored in San Jose last night. Jt Miller been outstanding the best year of his career. Elliot's Patterson is is a star legit star and And then bullhorn VAT his. He's shown I think the reason that they selected him as the captain and he plays this all over the ice style. He takes more face offs than anybody in the League but Ryan Riley and I've left brock besser because he's kind of been put in a little bit of a secondary role. They wanted some balance in their scoring. And the guy that's exploded as Jake Virtanen got fifteen goals now right so i. I like their team a lot. I mean the the biggest challenge I mean. I look at those five teams in the in the division Arizona Vegas Edmonton Calgary and Vancouver. And I don't see anyone that's any better than anybody else I think they're kind of all the same So if you if you fall into a three week slump and you you play nine games and you only pick up a few points that might be enough to put you in a hole that you can't get out of looking so tight and I don't. I don't see anybody running away. I don't really see anybody falling apart. I'll be really interested to see if somebody can make a significant addition At the deadline. That like this could be the one area where a really good player changes the balance of a team's future in this year right and I don't get the sense in talking with connects management that Jim Benny's likely to do a whole heck of a lot as he's made clear to local media in Vancouver most of your shopping was done in the offseason. And I don't know that the Vancouver canucks need to add. But let's switch divisions to the central because the Winnipeg jets as we talked about on insider trading on Tuesday our most definitely identifying top four defenceman. They need some help. They've needed help all season long and the truth is if they don't find help they may be in store for a better draft pick in June than than what they were. Thinking is an absolute. Must that shoveled off? Gozo does whatever is possible to acquire that defenseman. No and the reason I say I mean yes from a on the ice standpoint hundred percent. I mean I did three games at the end of Jenn. What's January now I guess when the heck was it I guess it was two weeks ago. A couple of weeks. Oh Man I don't know one day anyway. I did three games in a row with the jets and in that time they were really excited to get Dmitri Kulikov and Lucas visa back in the lineup and with all due respect to guys who play in the NHL though should not be game changing guys that come back in. But Paul Maurice's had I don't know how many defensemen he's had to shuffle in and out and around the lineup and and then they're you know so that's Maurice's problem Kevin. Chevrolet offs problem is that he's trying to build as good a team as he can. He's got a six point. Seven million dollar hole in the middle of the Roster Drake's. Maybe you know this. Why does the dust in Buffalo in arbitration takes so long like? Is it not like okay? Everybody here's the date running your paperwork. Let's get going on well to be fair Ray. I believe that the players association isn't pushing to schedule a date because nobody is convinced that dust in buffalo is common back either this season or at all so I guess at some point. There's going to be a reason for challenging loss dollars but maybe there won't be. Maybe that'll be part of the case of the National Hockey League. If he just decides that he can't come back that that he's done so I think the Players Association and the League for that matter. I want a better handle on whether or not this guy has any intention of coming back before they expedite that process. Well well how are you GONNA know? Well he's going to be getting you can use right right like you're you're gonNA ask him because I would say you know that can be a yes or no and it really. Does that mean anything right so I I just think it's I think from the NHL Perspective. I'm surprised that a member team is stuck in limbo. Like this young. It's not fair to them. At drags you know. I side with the player. Ninety nine and a half percent of the time and this is the other half. I don't think it's fair to the jets. I don't think it's fair to their fans that they have. This unresolved issue that you know. We never know really what goes on behind the door but it just seems to be hang in there and so the reason I say that Kevin Chevrolet off. The general manager shouldn't necessarily go ahead and do whatever he can is to add. A top four is A. I wouldn't be interested in a rental player. They they gave up a first round pick. Two years ago for Paul Staff Nate and he was outstanding. Last year it was for Kevin Hayes and that fell flat. I mean they were trying. They were in a position they felt they. They could make a difference in act two years ago they almost made made it Stanley Cup finals right now. So but you've blown. Oh first round picks now. I know they've acquired some in the trades that that They've brought back. But if you make the playoffs which would be iffy even if you get a top four guy like if you're in like how much damage can you really do? So I don't know if this is the time be blown out assets. I know the people in Winnipeg. Don't love to hear that but it doesn't matter what happened a few years ago. You're you're in today and you can't you can't blow out assets even though they do have some very very good young prospects coming we see them at the world. Juniors that means there are a couple of years away or eighteen months away. We see those guys. They're in a tough spot and they're they're in a tough spot but I I wouldn't. I wouldn't chase it at all costs. We're we're GONNA talk about the Maple leafs in the Montreal Canadian shortly but just timely you were in Nashville for the leafs and the pres- on Monday so if we stay within the central here the Nashville predators man are they as bad as they look because when I watch the natural predators. I don't see even remotely a level a consistent level of compete. Well I I was really disappointed them. Coming out of the break Now Toronto dominated that game. It was Toronto's first game out of the break and it was nationals first game in Toronto dominated that game virtually the whole night.

"Beauty big bitch. I do have a couple things quickly. One is his roommate for five years and he was always at the head of the curve of stuff so he started drinking these protein shakes and just had the worst act in the world. Old would absolutely destroy. The room is body accessing the protein while and I was the unfortunate unfortunate person that had the sitting room Next thing is asking about a special. MVP sees in not only did he with the League. Mvp Appear Hart Trophy. You're not sure if anyone's ever done that. Maybe Bobby Orr was especially airy ensure games from the back end giving them a compliment compliment but he was unbelievable that here I'll also ask him about When I showed him on his Amex points he had no idea that you could griping Amex points? I was so proud. I had two hundred twenty thousand Amex points which is a dollar per point. Eight looked up his account. We made him Out and he'd had one point eight million bottom shelf our house with Amex points. I was a little Johnson. I pretty funny and then I also follows pretty funny. That Pong was as you know really mean on the ice and I always found it funny Johnny on the H.. With him when he would make grown ass top hockey players show fear in apologized to him and he would respond with the fact that he is not afraid to take suspension. Calamities elected joke around and You guys loved the game as much as him so I learned a lot about being a leader from him But Yeah you can rip him about those couple of a good time later. And he looked at me I go. I'm not fucking kidding. And so the play goes on we change and he's Kinda looking at me all of a sudden he's back. I don't know why he was on the ice when I was out there. But whatever he's on the ice and the puck went near. I don't know how and I went to lift his stick and I missed and I get hit him right on. The eyebrow almost took his eye out and for like a half a second of. Oh and then I was like I fucking told you. I told you I was going to get you. Fuck this guy's back get that for like half a second. I caught myself. I was almost like. Oh sorry yeah no fuck you I could talk to you for fucking ever. This is already awesome. I'm going to stay with it at the end. I said all right well mom I got a couple of meetings and I. I really enjoyed talking to you and I want I want you to have a happy birthday and I love you and that was a and it was for her and also felt good. If they'll get some just telling you what to do when you can just every once in a while it does help a little active kind of act of gratitude. Yes those things fucking go long way do. Do you ever say it to your parents. You ever say yeah. They're getting old. Now Yeah when they can hear me are they both deaf now Ra. "Are you able to be grateful as it taken time to take a step back once. Read something. There's an article in sports illustrated southern about you a couple of years ago. Whatever and how you you went through such a hard time because you know you had to concussions and you had the injury you went through fucking hell with the I I mean Hell? I know how bad you wanted to get back. I know how you know how hardy fought to get back but you know you limitation yeah. There's something that you know. This was this is life and how hard was it to finally accept that to. Did you go through therapy. Did you have to like we you say. Hey I'm fucking like you're hurting your family inadvertently or you pay the ask to be around where you miserable will the first year when I first got hurt I remember like three or four days into being heard sat in my room in the dark for nine days. And you know I'd try to get up. Take a leak in the middle of the night and fallen into walls. I'm all over the place. Well why just like my head. I couldn't concussion. Yeah I just couldn't catch my bearings. How scary is that? Well at the time you're not you're probably a little bit out of it but you're you're also just trying to get back. I I just always used to push you off my Nissar. Don't worry about it you know. Oh my heads around you. Don't worry about it you know you just try to push the stuff aside. He's down at the game. You'll be fine. Yeah throw the lights on it. Whatever rub some meant on it? He'll be fine. It'll be good. You're fine You know I just always. He's had that old school mindset of mind over matter just fucking. Don't worry about it it's not it'll it'll go away or you know it always gone away before it will go away. You know I get. My Bell rang a few times. I always went away. You know it just this one kind of stuck there and hung around and hung around. What year was this two thousand eleven because as is one of the old and go why just? I was getting nauseous and driving. Mike I had to drive my car at night. Shades on because the lights coming at me bothered Bothered eleven hell out of me so I'm driving around my car my shave. You can't even think of playing and I used to go over the bridge over to the game. Aim rank and due to. I'd used to get so fricking nauseous. Just the remember now I could see feeling awful. Well yeah is starting to get sick your stomach and then your head gets all fucked up and then you show up at the rankling. I'm going on fuck this ultimately when I when I when I went to see the doctor and you're done he said that. Yeah he's what we say. How the fuck are you playing? Because I I was playing so I came back. Can I played five games and then I was off. I mean I just wasn't myself. Nauseous nauseous on the bench Shimon. My eyes were the bright lights. Were bothering me. I had a headache. You know all the all the symptoms but again I was just like fuck it. It'll go away and I was actually getting worse. Not Better and it was bothering me. More and more fun told the triangle sums right fucking. See the doctor so the doctor Doctor I see the doctor and she's like well. We got to send you to Pittsburgh and go see the concussion guy and I get there and I see him and he's looking at my file. How you fill out the forms? How many concussions? If you had like fucking hundred when you think about it when you're a kid you banging your head on the wall that's you know when you're seeing stars stars you start trying to understand. What is a concussion? What is the medical term? And what is the medical diagnosis of. What is a concussion? There's so so many different you know. Think about back to when you blacked out. I blacked out. I'm seeing stars. I got a Stinger I got a you know I got hit one night in. La here frigging against too bright lights right. You would never know it was an innocuous hit just hit me in the jaw kind of coming across really quick. It was quick we both fell and then you were five was I was right beside our bench. I'm like fuck I'm like. Oh my God I soon as I open my eyes to bright lights coming out of thank God. Auto's right beside the bench. I just stepped onto the bench sat down. I call the traffic dude. I got to bright lights. You know this is like mid nineties. He's okay well are you. Can you play. I'm like yeah I'm good I can just. I sat back in the rocking chair. And just kinda use my peripheral vision and look got lifted my head up so the bright lights weren't straight ahead of everybody was just kind of lifted. Jesus and you weren't sharing all well ours. You don't know twenty fucking better than I play. Hog is what I do and you know. You're I think it was in the playoffs. So you're just Playa Lia- need you're not really paying attention a lot of that stuff. I mean that's terrifying like I'm here in this book but when you went to the doctor for the first time or not to fall. Yeah so to get back to that. He he looks at my file and he looks at gotTa looking at me checking me out and he comes back. He's like how. How are you planning? You're just you just played go. Yeah I played five games. He's like what the hell were you doing. You should not be playing gone. Oh okay I mean ever what is your. You can't play anymore. You're talking just like that well because you're like well you're Kinda finally we'll see you know that will lose their party. That goes my God. I think he's right. And what is when you never really go through your whole file. You're not going through all your home at this point I've had thirteen surgeries on your. I know thirteen surgeries of all your knee. My Body my back. My knee my risk my hand all L. A.. Different things my foot all the different stuff. And you're like okay. You looking at that ad fucking files like the stack and you're like Maybe this time I don't know do I really can. My body really takes US pounding. Can It really and now your heads all fucked up. And you're like my I was fucked up. My head was fucked up. Where's IT GONNA end? You know now lawrence like what are you thinking about here. I'm like I don't know and then the doctor. It's almost like he did me a favor. So you're you're done. And then and then what. "He looked at me and go. Hey this is on you. You're in charge. You take the bad guy del. Nobody's nobody's in charge of him. I remember going in in Toronto and you came up for urban legend. We went to a bar and some guy was just trying to be hot. Head guy was just trying to. Oh there's Chris pronger Nhl Star. He's a tough guy he's like. Yeah Fuck you and you're like God come on. Let's not do this. You're trying to do the right thing but then had another couple couple of drinks on on fuck you you. Let's go outside and I'm like no no no. We're not GONNA do this. You know you gotta remember. I was twenty twenty years old. I was like twenty three I think. Oh Yeah you're younger than me your kid. What I'm saying is your kid at the time but this guy started with the? Did you have a lot of that. Guys would just start shooting. You know what not a ton I think as we age figure out life you figure things out. I think a lot of times early on like once I turned pro eighteen. Nineteen twenty twenty twenty one. It was a little awkward where people they want to say something and it always comes bad all and I don't like people staring at me so they're staring at you. They don't know what to say. So then you're like what the fuck prob like. They're they're kind of. I don't know starstruck whatever so you don't even know that they're just starting to just like kind of awkwardly and you're like what the fuck is your problem when you're young you don't realise and you did a lot of that. Yeah and and it didn't end. What no I never got any fights never gotten the white? So did you always hanging around other guys that would fight. No I never I'd never been the only the only and it wasn't even a fight. The only time anything like that ever had all the alleged brawl in Buffalo. So it wasn't a brawl. We're all got suspended. No I didn't get suspended. They couldn't because we were like mid to late March Boston and Buffalo were fighting it out for a playoff spot. There was nine of us in the bar and they was it twister. No no this is when I was in Hartford but there was nine of you we have. We spent the night in jail and you didn't hit one person. No nobody on our side touched a soul. I was actually being the peacemaker. What well well there is frigging six vouchers coming at us? And we're like hey relax coming at you. They didn't swing punt the punch step. They're stepping forward. We'd step back day. Step forward we step back. We're like hey we'll leave. Wanted to fight you. Yeah we're GONNA scared no a little no because then the guy kept. Yeah pushing kept pushing. I'm like all right. Listen stop. Please stop we'll leaf. And then he stirred Chirpin more. And you're like all right finally you're like okay fuck. Let's go there and then the cops came busting in so they had called the cops. The COPS combusting in we didn't there was no punches. Thrown on our side. We're getting. We're getting are amazed. You the cops the cops you got maced. My I I couldn't figure out is trying to figure out I'm like and why is my ear so sore because they started burns I turned and my whole ear was raw and I was like what the Hell is wrong with my ear and then I remember them like Oh shit I got maced one. Another player got he got cuffed and then they may seem like it was a total disgrace and this was in Buffalo. Yeah did you hate buffalo to this day for that I do. I do just got bad taste in your every time there break out in hives. That's why I just I just you don't out. I'm in and out if I got to be there. I'm there in my room I I I'm not going out I'm not I'm just I'm done you know it'd be fun. Why don't you take a trip to that Bar Buffalo? See what's happened after all. He's at that motherfucker. You know what the funniest mall. It's funny now but then we're in the bar. The bar is right across the street from the police station. They put us in police cars and fuck and drove us around the fucking city laughing and purpose. I mean it was go. Wow how I didn't even know. The cop shop was across the street. I went back to later. I'm like well. Didn't they get reprimanded. Did anybody ever write an article about the police. Lisa Buffalo. No but that's pretty fucked up. They get a rise out of you guys. Yeah and they wanted to being a mom. We'd take we didn't take the bait but you still got mazed. East still got arrested. Yeah Still Piss you off to this day. Yeah does it does. Yeah and then. So one of the bouncers kicked a guy and broke his toe. So who do you think God suit and you had to pay it. NO FUCK NO I. It was like two or three years later. All of a sudden you get served with a lawsuit lawsuit for what pain and suffering guy broke his toe cheap shot guy when he was on the ground. And we're going to give you know the had to pay for your drinks. No good fuck them. I mean I know you probably had a lot so then you were traded from Hartford. Obviously everybody knows the story for Shanahan right up. You get traded to the blues. And that's when the real and I remember reading articles along the way keenum's like oh he's impatient he's immature. You're young you're twenty four twenty five twenty I got when I got traded traded. Their twenty I mean. I don't know how you do it if you look back. It's just like yeah of course while you the the funny part stupid part as kids and then grown up an adult and understanding a lot more you just wish what you know now you could have known that but why then you don't have those memories good memories a lot of stupid stupid. Don't make those mistakes you know. They always saw it. Makes you Michael. What it's what makes you? What makes you Ryan Mold you? Yeah you don't look you do much stupid. Push it in your life. No I I keep a good. Yeah you have a good head on your shoulders. Yeah screwed up pretty tight. Yeah it looks like it is. Yeah but he's mature. Let me tell you it hurt. Does I could see that Spielberg said. I've quoted this. He's the most immature person the race. Believe it or not Steven Spielberg elbrick. Says he's the most damage but he's incredibly responsible and those two things. It's okay if you sponsor immature any responsible your Fox you are fucked right. Sean had a successful career he wants to the NHL. He wrote a book. Great Guy Smart Guy. Good hockey player was there any brother brother. Jealousy issues ever-growing up whatever like he was rather and then all of a sudden you became the MVP Norris Trophy winner. No I think when you you look at and you asked me about growing up and dried. He left when I got to high school. He left to go play junior hockey in thunder bay so we even go to high school together where he bombed a little bit. I think your your you you want to have that experience but you know there was the the the friendly brotherly rivalry right. You know where you're competing. You're as a younger brother. You always try no I. I truly believe that was a big part of my success was always playing against bigger stronger. Your kids all other kids. All you gotTa keep up that scene in young blood where he goes out there and the older brother teaches them how to fight. That ever happened with you and show now is that there's any truth to that scene. Remember barley the right. was there ever a moment where you're like. I gotTA learn how to fight it. Someone teacher to fight the boxing lesson. Though you gotta throw a punch well I thank you. Tuck your your Tom around the this. I'm a very visual learner. You'll learn real quick play defense or at least I did MM-HMM I don't know too many guys that like getting punched in the face now so there are some that do but do you at all like getting punched in the face. Do you like punching people methinks. I felt pretty good back in the day. Yeah what what's one fight that you remember just in the Nhl that you punch someone pointed that. Feel fuck I fought. Todd Simpson in Calgary one night. This is ninety six might have been my big year. I'm trying to think where he was caught off and Posey say I don't know just acting tough and we're we're in big scrum and I don't I don't necessarily think he thought I was going to fight so there was two going on. I was one of them. There's another one going on and I was like all right. Well then let's go. He's sacked tough and I'm like okay. Let's go then. The boom gloves came off Mike. I'M NOT GONNA NOT GONNA wait for him so then I dropped my gloves. He's going God. You suckered me I'll go. I did not go you. You WanNA fight. I said let's go then. Go on punch. No no no no. It was a good fight. I hit him with a good laugh. Laughed at kind of buckled him. I think it kind of surprise them because he tried to switch and then I switch and hit him I with my left. And he's like Oh now railroad. You think that A Lotta Times players in the NHL especially people don't understand this building. I hate hockey hockey. The fight so stupid. You don't understand you have to be a part of its imagine being as intense and competitive as you possibly can in the hits and this and that and something happens and you can change the outcome of a game by getting a crowd into it and you get into this fight and then afterwards afterwards even though it seems like these people hate each other. Isn't it true that hockey players can go to a bar and go. Hey what's up you know. I think when fighting is about commotion and the Mental and Physical aggression that trying to win at all costs. And you know your your anger gets better all right fuck it. Let's go those. Are the ones where you can see the passion between the two guys like okay get the stage fighting. I was never a big fan of you. Know it didn't really serve up.

"There's there's two of you too you too and I mean did you. Your parents seemed like they were good. Folks looks right. Yeah did they let you get away with murder. That's what I'm guessing pretty much. Yeah my nickname growing up chaos. That's it that's it. Every day. Every day we either played road. Hockey played hockey in the basement. Played Out on the outdoor rank or were practicing singer playing down at the rink. What else is there to dirty much? Everyday what else is there on the summertime. Then we'd go swimming and golf golf to lot Just kind of fucked around like stupid kids and did you know what we were allowed to be kids back. Then that's the beauty of it. They just said you. You know I'd leave and I'd come home at five and God knows what I was doing. Your parents never worried. He's GonNa Take Care of himself. His brother's watching him. Where are you gonNA goats? That'll guide and what are you. What are you gonNA go? What are you GONNA do? That's true in life on an ice fishing hole or something. There was ice fishing. There ain't great ice Fisher. He's you still go ice fishing there. No why not to you. Got To go for Dryden because you used to want to do that. Yeah I love it I I love it. I go snow machining new all that fun stuff. It's great so you off now too soft your parents so they let you go now. Jim was a drinker right. Not Really No. He wasn't because I always remember one story about Your Dad. The story of the olive oil was his buddy. That was done. That wasn't handled. Oh that was dawn. Remember we were at dinner. Go ahead all right Grad dinner Local Italian joint and Clayton where I lived lived and Munira Dinner With my dad and his friend on Don's crushed from this after a game crushed and and he keeps trying to grab drink but really. It's the bottle of olive oil for the prayed. And I keep pushing the Waco done no and he keeps coming in and I put you to good done no. I moved to a different part of the table. And then me and you start talking and I kind of forget about him and sure enough. I look over. And he's chugging again this olive oil. I'm like Oh my God what do I never forgot obviously did forget and by the way that night he got up at like four in the morning to take shit and broke the toilet and somehow figured out a way to turn the water off off the toilet for me. I don't know if he like dropped down on it or lean back too hard the toilet I can broke and he had the wits about him to turn the water off the bottom. Did your you and your dad ever get into any kind of altercations going. I noticed that you're a hockey player. Shawn's hockey player. Dad's a big guy. He's like like you. Did you ever get into things where you're like you because I know you I know you have your hotheads. Sometimes things done your way whether you're playing or whether you're control freak like me me at times you like things your way did ever Kirti like you stepped over the line. You'll see. Yeah fuck that. I'm not. I know that happened. I want you to tell me a story stories. You recall were you in Jimbo got into e only got mad at me twice like where he was pissed where I was like. Oh Fuck I'm dead. How old were you I it was fourteen. Maybe what happened. How tall are you it for? I was six one maybe sixties thought. I'm cool I just know I was. I can't remember what I did. But he was pissed and he came fire and home and was like can sat me down as I ever. We WanNa fuck and see who do that. In first time for me to really was so mad. Were you scared. I was like Holy Shit. I'm fucking dead here. I got up when I stood around behind the coach so I could get out of the way. Holy Shit. He's pissed but never like a smack DAB. No my mom was usually the disciplinarian. She'd spank thank you. She would spank me and hit me with the wooden spoon when I was eight I clinched the Bill Belichick and they're spoon broke and I turn around and laugh out and that was the end of that. I'm doing squats GONNA work. No more than fact. Oh no I mean but you're already like a strong kid. I mean you grew so fast. Did you know you're going to do something that you know. Now you know what I always tell people they don't you know super small town middle of the nowhere. No Internet no frigging nothing. You don't even know like I used to get the hockey digest and the hockey news once a week. That's the only hockey information should I had. We only got hockey night in Canada. One night a week on Saturdays there was no other hockey games on TV. So that's it. That's why roadside. We're outside every day. So that's why and how do you make it to the NHL any other country well but that's changing that I think Canada's like forty five percent of the league now what does a slow ocoee or some Shit No. US The US is. I think twenty five percent that it's the it's skiing Taylor. Yeah shifting. The tides are shifting tides Really all you could do go outside and play and play hockey and do whatever needed but do you think about it. I mean routes. You're outside you're being a kid you're outside you're screwing around with your friends. I think we had a close knit group of friends. Who Whom you've met that we all lived? You know you're not like you're living too far anywhere in town but we all live fairly the close we all congregated. Your parents knew where they knew who you were with in on there. They were friends with their parents. Right so you know it was all it was easy lizzy growing up but I never had any information on anybody that my age that played down in Toronto or played out in Vancouver Calgary or any the bit Montreal any of the big cities. I know who they were or I didn't know anybody and then I went to a camp down in I think it was G- wealth where off off growth. That's an Tarot. It's about an hour and a half from Toronto and really just started to see these kids. I didn't know Oh how good I was. I didn't know you you don't really know you play in the local tournaments parts we go is Winnipeg you play against some kids but you don't really no but did anybody go that pronger kit. You know the giants. I was always from my age group. I was always a better best kid on the team You know I played up a little bit. You know I was one of the kids I think being tall you have that allure or that aura of well he's big. I was skin and bones owns but I was tall always tough I mean I liked altercation. No I mean I fought a little bit but I didn't. I thought when I needed to fight all the time I didn't I was playing so much that it's tiring and nobody wants wrassling around around Tiaret right. Anybody did when you were younger. Did people even picked fights with you. They're gonNA take the guy down Yeah sometimes did you ever taken down you got to pick like your battles you know. That's a smart player will always pick his battles one of the things that I know the best I know I know who's on the ice at all times. I know who's coming on the ice. I know who's leaving the ice. I know matchups. I know who's behind you is around. I know everything I know everything. That's going on something that was just natural to you or did you really have to learn that. Because that's multitask as right. I mean it's sense. It's it's awareness. You know some of its hockey sent some of its awareness. And knowing what's going on around you a street smarts all that shit plays into it I think But I think just always knowing and understanding your role understanding your matchup understanding what you have to do to be successful. What you gotTa do to win? I just wanted to win right. And there's some hurt feelings at times where you would. I just want to win prior when your kid. It seems to me like you like. There's those kids that are so full full of anger and so full of emotion that something didn't happen you go back and you start crying and not at a young. I would fly off the handle I would. I don't know if I cried a ton you break your stick throws shit. Oh Yeah I got boy faulk. Yeah I remember you playing hockey with you I think it was you and Jack Your Little Jack. Yeah we have the same birthday you am him. Al McGinnis and myself McGinnis one of the best slapshots ever in hockey. If you want to look him up Google but I remember we were just taking some soft off shots on goal. He was playing goalie. And if you let a fucking going to go look at don't fuck and scoring them. Remember that's going to happen. I mean he's a big one now too long is Six seven. He's six foot seven Jack and he's obviously what we're playing. He's playing basketball. He just said no to hockey He was playing and then he was good. He was all right and then he just kept growing. You know it's it's awkward and he's playing high school hockey. No He's not playing hockey at all or none of asking ball yeah. He's playing high school basketball. So as George and George Georgia's sixteen now Schwarzer's I turn. You might do Lila Lila. You're fucking up every name are you. It's hard with those names She's probably five feet Doing her art and tennis and she's easy so the bunch she's an old soul. It's nice to get we're GONNA get to all the dirt and stuff because you talk about growing up shit this jitter now dirt when I say dirt. It's just like you know people like I wrote some shit down like I I know. Oh you so to speak pronounce your mom's fucking name so we're sorta because we really hung out along a lot and then and and then you got famous no no. That's not true. But I was in Vancouver. Ten muncie for seven years but then you got married obviously and you had a family and you sort of playing and things started changing the teams were planning for your plane from the bill wasn't necessarily a lose of the other to the Anaheim ducks to the flyers liars. Some would say to the coyotes really. I mean that was true. I mean you look Boehner civil rights but I was always like man. I do miss those times. The problems I do. Miss those times with McClennan was the the coach. Joe McLennan no Joel Quenneville Glenville L.. Jamie McLennan you are having a tough goal right now. We'll edit that out. Let's start again. Joel Quenneville right is your coat. Here's a look if they're not a hockey Ben Lag. Odd Awed McLennan is. He's a great coach. I love Quenneville. I remember Quenneville seeing me. Come to your some of your games on the road or whatever and he'd see me show up to the like you know we go back to the hotel because we're GONNA go out..

"And he actually apologized about that after the game and like enemy and got to do what you got to do if you feel like you don't wanna get chill your cards who was a hell of a game series but it's funny that a lot of guys now to you guys run it at redwings team and that rightly emphasised like whole says there's going to be like when it's all said and like sixteen hall of famers on that at oh my god but pronger gets her thinking like game two or some sat in the first round a second round was the for you guys beat the blackhawks in verse five yet in redwings yeah uh but the oath three is the team that everybody talks about and that's that that team was up three to one on that one bothers like anybody who is on that team that was the team yeah we kind of blue down one in was homeless since vancouver's tough team back then have building to win so that was hard to swallow and then them no four i always i always wondered about this because now you see what your cuonzo's been able to do but oh force the year he gets let go and i think you've said it and chases said it that the best coach who played for working joel quenneville absolutely is what he gives let go so what what's going on every kinda thought it was going to happen you guys to go into the playoffs hits coach near but you lose to the shark's kinda like a nondescript fivegame loss here what happened with quenneville villain in my they use here a long time and at that point like nine years maybe he and he's he's immune he's such a smart codes players codes a guy that you know you have to have some benson's when you're on the on your when you're running a bench you have to have an ability to see was going who's not going we ability make changes that's what made him really good he could see who's going he could see things how they develop and he would make line changes and he would make you know different personnel changes now is what makes them so successful so that was tough to see him go but.
