Mark Levin Teases New Book Announcement in Two Weeks
"It's a totally different kind of book I wrote it a totally different kind of way it's it's a lot more plain English even though it still has significant aspects of philosophy but not just that I'm already talking about not even supposed questions going to be once you hear the title are retailers going to hide it in the back or even have it you can present it tell you another interesting thing we'll see if the Reagan Library if we make an offer to go there we're the number one money generator for the Reagan Library of any author ever see if they'll have us Mr. producer they may not we love the Reagan Ranch it's just too small to do that sort of thing I'm going to do very few book signings and I will tell you why safety it's that simple up there safety maybe maybe two tops there'll be three two maybe one I don't know we shall happen to agree with Megyn Kelly which apparently I often do which is why would you vote for Democrats when they're talking about chopping off minors penises and adding those penises to a minor girl hey that's my party that's for me now you must confess that

Joe Biden says he has no comment the Attorney General of the United States who's the quarterback of all this hasn't been heard today they send out their hitman today and he looks like a hitman gives a short statement about the rule of law that Trump is innocent until proven guilty and walks off the stage it's a documents case that should never been criminalized and they have turned it into Trump needs to go to prison for the rest of his life and die their case I just want to be abundantly clear about this they tried to destroy the man with Russia collusion they tried to destroy him with two phony impeachments too they tried to destroy him with a prior criminal investigation in special counsel Mueller they tried to undermine his administration every step of the way you know this man Trump he's never been able to even enjoy the presidency he's constantly fighting for his liberty you you his family hasn't been able to enjoy Biden's having a grand old but not Trump he does it because he's trying to help the country loves the country that's the truth you Biden's doing it because he makes millions from foreigner corporations and foreign governments in Democrat the parties behind the whole damn thing history is going to be very brutal on us brutal brutal and we took a Republican turned it into autocratic regime totalitarian and we allowed the Democrats to do this but they support abortion on demand ok that is the preeminent issue in our lives isn't it I just want to be clear the Biden regime has brought so many charges against Donald Trump that it is their goal to get convictions and to imprison him for more than a hundred years which obviously means the rest of his life think about that again not only is it the first indictment of an ex -president not only is this the first indictment of a candidate for president by an opposing party president not only is this the first use of an espionage act to take down an ex -president but they want to send Trump to prison where he'll die because of the sentences of the so -called crimes that they allege it's Friday evening all over the country you can hear this program it is critical that throughout the weekend that you tell everybody you know what I just said you let the same mark said I'm just saying tell everybody what I just said that that the Democrat Party that the Attorney General that the special counsel but Joe Biden's in charge of all of it he can play rope -a -dope all he wants he's in charge of all of it that and he they want to send Trump to prison for so long that he would die in prison at the same time the same individuals at justice and the FBI have covered up bribery involving Biden you payoffs sellouts involving the Biden family and Biden by foreign governments to the tune of up to 30 million dollars according to Peter Schweizer the first to call them out they covered up that form 1023 you better believe that Christopher Wray was coordinating with the Attorney General who was coordinating with the White House but finally Wray buckled because he didn't want to be held in contempt want that on his resume the Department of the Treasury has obstructed wire information that has been sought by multiple committees in the House which they made available to Democrats in the past so the Republicans have had to go directly to the banks and I ask why do you need 20 shell corporations since 20 under LLC protection that means secret protection why do you need 20 shell while corporations Joe Biden is Vice President of the United States why do you need to set that up well the Treasury Department wouldn't tell the Republicans in the house but that's so they could launder money through these shell corporations they to a regular corporation they didn't want to receive them directly into a regular bank because they're hiding the and they're dividing it among their family members including three grandchildren Joe Biden says where's the money with your family you moron you damn well know it why do you think the IRS is going slow on Hunter why do you think Treasury's going slow on Hunter? Why do you think the Department's going slow on Hunter?

"Of the creative producer who's a creative director who's sitting there and ideating and trying to figure out the pitch. You're not going to pull that person out of that process to say do you need 7 artists? Do you need three? Do you think you can get it done in two weeks? Do you think even 5? I feel like there's almost like a hybrid role for the right size studio that could be really, really beneficial that doesn't really have a name yet. I always put in my head a creative creative producer. But I feel like there's another role that started, especially as we start taking on this wider range of types of jobs that are right over the horizon coming up to motion design studios. Yeah, that's a great question. The title creative producer has existed in different segments of our industry. And I think of like when I did movie trailers, a producer there really was kind of the creative director way more than they were the business manager, like in other segments of industry. So there is a role there, but you're right, there is an opportunity for someone who's creatively minded and technically minded to do a center role. If you come up to the creative ranks, you usually end up in a technical director role and doing the same thing where a producer asks TD, can you tell me who I need? How long it's intake, the software I need. And that technical director can walk through those elements. But coming from the creative side, many creatives are many producers are creative. And so coming up through the producer ranks, that creative producer has the opportunity to say, I know what it takes to get something beautiful out the door. And I understand that some of the creative decisions that he made, maybe I'd be more viable in a certain producer role than actually be the one pushing the pixels out the door or doing the face to face client meetings and getting that presentation done..

School of Motion Podcast
"producer." Discussed on School of Motion Podcast
"What's awesome awesome about that conversion is there's a technical side of production that the creative person knows. They've been in deep inside the software. They know the filters and the rendering issues and the composite problems that would come up. So that they can anticipate them sooner and solve those issues or solve them for multiple people. When you're on the box yourself, you can fix it for yourself. If you take on a producer role, our technical producer role, you can systematically fix it for a whole company or even sometimes for whole industry. So I love when that creative person steps into that role, has that thought and does take on that responsibility. You can say the tension that would exist is sometimes your people are taking on that role in spite to show a producer. I can actually do it. And they might be missing some of those other attributes of how do you empathize and how do you add clarity and how do you consider the other pieces of the pie than just the creative? So no matter what I feel like you want multiple sources of input in that production team. So there's balance between that center job because they really are the spoke of a wheel in so many decisions are being made for the company and for the project for the creative for the client. Joseph the cash, like all of those pieces are really going to come together on one person's shoulder. And the method and the practice that they have learned and couldn't put in places is great when it's working symbiotically with all those elements. There's a secret tip in there, I think, for a studio that's starting to grow. That's getting larger. And there's decisions to be made, whether it's the EP or the how to production or the owner, that producing core, I've always found this. They're very responsible for what the outward facing culture of a studio actually has perceived as. Whereas the creative directors really a lot of times be the owner of the crave directory can really help establish the inward facing culture, the language you use, the vibe, the way you talk about yourselves, but the producers really manage a lot of what a client may think of you. And I feel like there's a lot of times where that clash of the inward facing culture and the outward phasing presentation of it, those break down in terms of like the overall corporate culture and having an artist in as a junior producer working their way up the line, I feel like helps kind of find that balance where the way you talk about yourself out to the world and the way you talk about yourself inside start to find some kind of equilibrium, I think. Those have been the healthiest producing teams I've worked within when it's a studio that's bigger than an EP and one producer. When you have a team of 5 or four, you have a squad of producers all trying to keep everything spinning. That mix has there's been something magical. There's an alchemy when you have that mix, I think, of producers. I think you're describing.

"Limits. And when the owners are creative person, they often feel like they don't have a voice that can be very unhealthy. But there really is a symbiotic relationship when done well. And that's what we want to teach about mastering the creative ingredient investing is understanding those limits. Yeah, we've mentioned producer masterclass a couple of times now. And I'm really interested in finding out, who is it necessarily for? Because we've talked about the wide range of ways you can get into producing the range of ways of actually defining what producing it is. Who are you targeting? Because there is a dearth. Like we said, school motion does not have a producing class. There's no place you can go. You can't go to LinkedIn learning or Skillshare and get a really solid course or instruction about how to become a producer or how to be a better producer. So what is it all about? Who's it for? And when is it going to be available again? We just gave me a great great idea. I should call LinkedIn learning and see if they'll take our producer masterclasses. You know it's funny you ask the question earlier of how rev think is pivoted in the last 12 months and this is when those areas where our primary focus has been on the business owner, the creative business owner, and helping that person navigate what it means to run a creative business as well as be a creative director or salesperson or producer, whatever that primary role might be. This is one of the first times we actually reached into the company and said, hey, we will train your producers for you. And then signed up people who want to be producers, regardless of their ownership, criteria. And we did that because we recognize our clients needed somebody to build up their production team or future production team, give them some skills that might have been missing or at least some insights that might be missing in the job that they're doing..

"There's sometimes it's physically like the producers sit above or below and they're in a separate place. But a lot of times it's just strategically, it feels like they're set up against each other. Their goals and intentions are actually like, oh, you know what? The creatives have to try to get the most beautiful most creative most inventive thing in the producers have to make sure they don't bankrupt the company, but the best situations I've been in is whether joined at the hip as true true partners because there's something interesting when you work at a shop as a creative that gets to work with a producer that you're not just looking at that one job. You're also looking at the jobs alongside it, the opportunity is getting ready to come in and the ones that have just finished that may be able to be exploited or leveled up for even bigger relationships. The job that just shipped is sometimes the best way to open the next stage with that client, the creative director is very rarely ever thinking about that, but they're going to get tapped on the shoulder by the producer to make it happen. Those two people should be working way more together in the big picture and the vision kind of state of the studio as well. Have you ever really had a producer that's been able to do that that's been able to kind of be like, oh, I understand the wide picture, but also can go very deep on one single thing. At the same time, because I've only had in the 20 plus years I've been here, I've only had one partner in my entire career that's been that type of producer. Well, I'll say yes, I've been fortunate to work with some producers, especially like at the senior and executive producer level that really do have that sense of I'm here to facilitate and bring to life this vision called this is where this creative company is going..

"So that guiding or building up of your producer is a way greater impact on all the possibilities of project can go, the relationship you have with a client in the long term, the direct injection of your business. And even the direction of your career, if you find a good partner in a producer, that producer can make really amazing things with you for your entire career. I think there's a great magic and ability in our industry when we are finding those connections and making them well. I love what you said about that because I really feel like that's half of the producers the producer producers issue is there really are those four things, right? You said, the project itself, the company, the client, and the creative team, like you're literally juggling four of those. You're spending all four of those plates at the same time, and it's very typically not just one set of four plates. You're looking at the past and trying to figure out what to learn from or to avoid. You've got whatever is current right now, but a producer a lot of times is also like the tip of the spear when the future jobs. The RFPs are coming in. The request, the bids, the all of those things, is that something you talk about in the producers masterclass because I feel like there's a lot of tactical things, right? There's tools you've talked about harvest a couple of times. There's things that you can adopt and methodology, but there's also just kind of like big picture point of view. Being able to understand, do you talk about that in produces how do you get your head around the full full suite of things that producer is going to be asked to kind of take advantage of or take control of in a studio? Well, I'll jump in and say the lesson I've learned.

"Because like you said, there is no, you were from imaginary forces. I was there. You'd come in as a PA. You might be able to be a coordinator. You'd sit and watch a junior producer that junior producer gets promoted a senior. They spend a little time and then you hop into like a one off senior producing position, but you have somebody there to kind of like guide rally. And then you just work your way up until you had a production, managing producer, whatever those things might be. There's a natural hierarchy, the same way artists have. And that has been gone for I feel quite a while, or it's been honestly out. I have not seen. I've seen junior producer producer relationships in the last ten years. But I have never the word coordinator has rarely existed unless you're talking about a resource manager only. So solo procession of just finding booking talent. But PA, I mean, why would you need one anymore? There aren't any there's no need to have just people sitting around waiting to help fix something with clients don't show up in your office anymore. There isn't tapes to run across town. So that generational thing that we skipped is really something that you can see it in truly the age of most producers. Or at least successful producers. You can just see it in our age. I was a producer at 24. I have met a 24 producer 24 year old producer at all. No, but I've seen a lot of 24 year old predators. I feel like predators ate the PA job PA title. You're expected walking in the door to be able to throw a little bit of graphics together, know how to write a good email to a client, be able to produce, sit on final cut or premiere and cut something together, make a sizzle, do some social media, like that is the equivalent of what IPA position used to be 5 years ago, 60 year old years ago, 7 years ago..

"These about 455 yards away. He's gonna hit about 218. This is the school of motion podcasts. Come for the mo Graf. Stay for the puns. This situation we're seeing with producers in our industry today is that we're missing that education that used to happen when you had a hundred people in a room and there were PAs and then there were coordinators and they were producers. And you had the ability to make your own. Now we're very segmented. There aren't, we're missing some of those positions that people could learn, the apprenticeship positions people learn hands on. We are just infusing people at gigantic problems hoping they get it right and hoping that slack and harvest do their job. It doesn't all kind of click. We know there's a talent crunch. We know there's a rush to get artists of every shape and kind out there in the industry, but we're the real problem actually lies in motion design. It's with producers. That's right. We're going to talk about the producer problem today with two of the best people I could think of, but before we dive into that, let's just hear a little bit from one of our school emotion alumni. Hi, my name's Joe judkins, and I'm a 2D and 3D freelance animator and director. My love for drawing and illustrating was actually really limited by my knowledge of software. So I was very comfortable just drawing in a sketchbook drawing even on procreate, but that's kind of where it stopped. And so when I got to the point where I thought, I really feel like I would like to learn more about Photoshop and illustrator. And I'd like to be able to make some of my own illustrated boards someday. So this is where school of motion came in. I took Jake Bartlett's Photoshop and illustrator unleashed course in 2018 and then I followed that up with Sarah Beth Morgan's illustration for motion course in 2019 and I finally learned the techniques that I needed combined with some software tips and tricks to be able to turn those sketches into final finished illustrations. So thanks to school of motion, my name is Joey Jenkins, and I'm a school motion alumni. Motion airs normally we talk art, we talk artists. We talk tools. We talk a little bit about the industry. Everything you can think of. But there's a whole other role out there that you interact with every day. And you may not really think about who that person is, where they come from, how they got there, and if you fit into that role as well. But today, I really want to bring two of the best deep thinkers the rev thinkers, if you will, about the motion design industry. I have Tim Thompson chief revolution thinker, and Joel pilger, manage partner to talk about what I like to call the producing problem that we have in motion design..

"I don't like this record. And i've tried it. I've tried listening to it several times. But i'm not a giant iron maiden van and never have been But i respect them. I you know what i like. I love but i you know i thought the book is also was better than this. And but even that's not so much great and i could have really picked. I picked the new one to talk about this episode. Because it's top of mind. But it's also symptomatic of their work with kevin shirley and kevin shirley been there producer ever since brave new world. So we're going back a long ways now. Several records and i just think they've gone downhill with pretty much every up every album that they've done with him and it's like especially this new one. The biggest thing that bugs me is like the base. Steve harris's bass guitar has always been like the loudest thing on their records. At least since. I started working with him. That's part of their charm. I guess if you're if you're fan. But i but the part of this one that really bugs me is. Yeah that's the case again but also nicos drums are way up in the mix and it's like wired the drums the highest thing in the mix on this thing and it's just it's produced so strangely guitars are buried. The songs are over long. But i am not going to get into the songwriting. Because that has nothing to do with kevin shirley although because we're just talking about producers here but it's just one of those things were i just don't i and i'm wondering how much of this is really kevin shirley. Or how much is steve harris. Barking orders and kevin going. Yes master and doing what he wants. I mean when bands get to a certain level you know when young and upcoming band and you put in the studio with somebody who's a legendary producer and that producer goes. Hey sit stay played. Ed you do it. You know. but there's a point in a lot of these bands careers where they become so big. Who comes in and tells them what to do. I mean a lot of our favorite bands have been to that point. Were to me the producers. Always supposed to be the guy that grabs the reins and directly. You know the animal knows where it wants to go but it needs somebody to hold that leash to get them to where it needs to be so that the final destination is exactly the way they envisioned it before. They started the quest to creating new music. That's right and so if the animals just dragging the the producer around all that's not gonna work so great you know and a lot of bands have gotten to that point where they're megastars now and nobody's gonna come in and tell them what to do. You know it's like the difference between you know. Kiss destroyer with bob azran and kiss revenge with bob azran destroyer lady and everything. He told him to do jump. How high here. We go got heels on jump..

"It's going to take a commitment from the band. Okay you guys are not feeling equal as moneymakers in this whole situation here. But here's the situation. Where you guys can be equals set. The money aside said the differences aside. Let's write some songs that are going to kick ass and be the greatest thing that you guys have ever done. So peter chris you bring me your best song and ace freely you bring me your best song and then gene simmons brings one paul stanley brings one and the rest of them are songs that they work on together. These guys aren't going to say. I'm to save this for solo project because at this point they should be all in on kiss and if this album would have been as good as it should have been no bruce cubic. No tommy thayer no kevin valentine just kiss with eddie kramer in their laying down own classic kiss style given every member there do letting everybody contribute and really takes him and the attitude of we're gonna put out the best album of our career now at that time all eddie kramer in the ninety s. He was winning grammy awards and he was working with jimi hendrix is a state and he was working on producing all that unreleased music that came out in the nineties once the jimi hendrix estate. Got the right stall at soft back and if that would have been a thing where kissed would've said ra you know. Maybe the money's not equal. Let's at least make it right on the album and come together as a team because we know these guys can write great songs together. It would have been awesome to see what psycho circus could been. If it wasn't the bullshit album it ended up being right. And i think with that attitude and eddie kramer. I'd be interested to see what would have been like so on this one. Though you're you're not only you're not only proposing a producer switch you're proposing an attitude switz- for the whole bay. It's it's gotta be because. I mean bruce fairbairn is going to go in there and he's like okay. I'm just gonna make this be epic and poppy and something that can be played on. Radio kiss is an aerosmith and kiss and bon jovi..

Oh yeah that's a great idea in. Actually the ordinary man record kind of grew on me over time i i. It's not i. I think people were kind of blowing that one out of proportion for how bad it well. Yeah the the the the low lights are low but there were some decent songs on that record. I thought i don't know if you stand up is collection. I think its way towards the bottom for sure. I liked it better than some of the other more. Modern releases put out. Yeah i thought it was more interesting than some of the gus g material it had its moments and it had some good songs but it also had elton john and post malone. I liked that. There's you know so that'd be that's something we look forward to doing and like i said before we started recording. Today we did some recording christner and show where we discussed what we're doing today. We tried to figure out if we were going to pick any same albums or any same producers and so we figured out that without giving it away to each other that we each picked a kiss album. And we each picked an ozzy album so we decided. Save those for the end so chris. I've got an ozzy album. That i'm going to switch producers on and you've got an is either we're going to switch producers on what do you got. Well it's a perfect segue because Involved michael wagner also so And this is a bit of a cheat because he kind of was the producer for this record. It's a complicated story. But so you know. Michael did no more tears. Which one ozzy's big might be ozzie's biggest solo album. I'm not sure but you know huge record. Then around ninety four he started working on the next record and actually early on in ninety four. He was actually writing with steve vai for the record and apparently they had a falling out but Ozzy got together with michael wagner. And they did. They recorded songs with mike. I nece randy castio zach. Basically the touring band and and it's with the intention to make it sound like no more tears and because obvious why would you you know metal with success and they did that in reno in early ninety four after the tour was over and they had seven songs done and michael told us the story himself and my jaw hit the floor below it. It shouldn't have because it's record. Companies being record companies but then wreck the cell. He turned in some of the songs i heard. Some of the rough mixes and epic records. Said we wanted to sound like soundgarden. Bad motor finger had come out and was huge. Then they said oh music's changed you know. Things have changed for bands like motley crue. Things have changed for bands like poison will then clearly that must mean things have to change for guy like ozzy. Yeah and so. They went ahead and they and michael of course came back and was like well. If you don't want it to sound like a michael wagner record then. I'll just drop off the project. Yeah the quit. And then The accompanied metal even further and wound up having a different lineup recorded. with Michael biehn horn buying horn producing it and it You know and i you know i got this story out of we you know. We got the story out of michael just purely on me mentioning that i loved that i liked the most this record and not even realizing he was a part of it at. We were just having a chat and he goes. Do you like that. That album and i said yeah. And what do you think of this. He's like this after we've been recording with them for like two hours are getting ready to leave one of the most amazing things that ever happened to us as a show and then he goes. "But when i think about could it have been better with a different producer. I'm gonna say would have In nineteen eighty else. Cooper kind of started what was known as the blackout era and Put out flush the fashion produced by roy. Thomas baker who was kinda hot on the heels of working with queen the cars and kinda. Had you know this kind of thin pop ish. You know style of doing albums and he definitely brought that to this one. And i think it was an intentional decision for alice to pick him as the producer of this because he wanted to compete with punk new wave which yes. That was the ethos of that of those genres was to basically strip everything down to nothing. And i do love songs on this record. Don't get me wrong. I think pain and clones like two of the best songs ever did sure. Rim facts is an awesome song Even like model citizen yes. Aspirin damages goofiest fuck. But i love it but it's a it's a great record so don't get me wrong about that. This is an album where i wish bob. Azran was still on board and would have brought his production value to this album because he knew how to beef up guitars. And and make cordell passages more powerful and and there's enough dramatic stuff on here on this album too especially with. Could you imagine bob. As producing pain sounded really cool. And i i just think it's It's one of those. Things weren't hindsight. I'd like to hear what would have done with it for the time it came out. It's it's perfect for what it is. Because he was trying to do that. Whole new wave. Punkish thing but to me. I'd love to hear bob azran. Remix this record himself and kind of beef up everything and do a modern version of it. That's pretty interesting. Because i think the blackout era around here amongst us is kind of revered. We like those albums from that weird period of alice cooper's career and when we originally talked about doing this i actually pick ten and didn't realize we're picking five and i did have alice cooper on there and but instead of that one i went with special forces but same thing i wanted to come back and do special forces because i kind of like flush the fashion the way it is. You know i like that. That's what he was going for. And i think they were able to achieve it because clones is. You know that's a weird album but it's not by far it's not the worst album of the blackout era. And i think i think special forces is one of the worst things alice cooper. Ever come out with so. I think that's the one bob israel comes back and fixes but i don't necessarily disagree with yours either because i think in that blackout era as we seen because i think the last thing bob done with them was what. So you guys who were think. Maybe you do too many drugs. You're out of your mate. I dunno although i did read started doing some reading up on. Because i'm not like super schooled on the background on this. But apparently they wanted to do this as a like a supergroup and not call it black savvas and dardenne the manager insisted they use that name game we call it deep purple. No right then we're calling its sabbath and that's final. And then apparently they had considered robert plant and david coverdale before settling on gillan. Wow and they would they of done. It probably not. It's real easy to say well. Yeah we'd like robert plant coming here and sing on this album. I can't see robert plant. Doing it covered elmont saturday. I don't know but and then they also had an audition tape from michael bolton when they were making this record. Wow yeah how crazy would that have been. It could've gone very different ways but to me. I think you know martin birch with you know his track record and his history was sabbath already. I think he would have been a great producer for this and it would have given it a better shot but Not my favorite record by what a love to hear what he could have done with it. you don't want i'm not going to disagree with that and i'm i'm not. Nearly the hater of that album is you are but some of the stuff you say is valid. You know as far as the tone and you know the the overall sound the kind of the strangeness of the drums on the album. I think the songs are great. And i'm a fan of ian gillan. So i dig it you know i. I've always liked that album. And really if you think about it it makes sense where that would have been more of. It's not really sabbath. You know to me. That's when i think of black sabbath you know. Obviously think ozzy anything deal. And they think tony martin and you think of like the one off guys you know and andean was one of them but if you're the lead singer deep purple than anything you perform on sounds like deep purple. You can't take the deep purple out of ian gillan so it's not sabbath. It's not deep purple at something weird. In between where. I think martin birch could gave it more of classic sabbath sound know the heaviness the crunchiness of it the songs were there ian gillan things like motherfucker on it. And i like that but yeah. Take chief correspondent Jason Kelly. Of course, my old partner in crime, He joins me on the Axis line in Sleepy Hollow. This is so on brand for you the type of things you're interested in and tell us that you know, Jason specifically why you wanted to sit down with him. Well, Hi, Carol. Hi to be with you have to be pre fourth of July. Um, you know, it's interesting. First of all, it was so amazing to actually sit down with you and I got to go. And spend some time with Charles at his home in Los Angeles. Then we actually took a little road trip to another part of Beverly Hills and stood outside his first office at W. M. E. William Morris and Associates. Where he started in the mailroom. You know, this is a guy who grew up in Decatur, Georgia, went to Vanderbilt went to Howard got a law degree. And the reason I wanted to tell the story to actually answer your question is because I think we have spent a lot of time. Collectively thinking about representation on screen and I wanted to look at representation behind the camera and most importantly and you and I've been doing this for a long time. Following the money who's holding the purse strings? And the answer? Charles King? Well, that is why How did he get there, though? How difficult was that process? You know, it was an interesting process because it goes back to actually him being a kid. And seeing this is going to be a little bit of a throwback forever. You and me, remember l a law Never. Blair under the Blair Underwood character? Yes. He basically watched l a law as a kid and said, Hold on. There is a black lawyer. That guy looks like me. I could do that He goes to law school. And But even when he was at Vanderbilt as an undergrad, he sort of got bit by the entertainment bug. And so he knew he wanted to be in that business, and someone eventually said to him. Look, you would make a great agent. Why don't you head out? And you know that the way you have to start in the business is literally in the mail room. You start in the mail room that he become an assistant. Then you become a junior agent. True agent, but he had this meteoric rise there at what is now known as you know, Endeavor. And what he saw was this opportunity to represent literally represent people who weren't being represented. And so he ends up representing Tyler Perry and many others. And then ultimately, he goes out on his own to say, You know what? I want to be the guy putting all of this together, right? And you know, it's interesting. I love what you said about l a lot because Jason how many conversations have you and I had about the importance of having these role models, but the importance of visually being able to see role models, whether it's where you work where you go to school or whether what you're watching up on the big screen or on streaming. Look, you people of all walks of life need to see people like themselves doing things right. And I think What's really important about that, too, is you know a Tyler Perry or an Oprah or a Shonda Rhimes? These are generational talents, right? I mean, these are lightning in a bottle in many ways, and Charles would be the first to say Listen. He's a very talented guy. But there are a lot more opportunities to be an agent or be a producer, or, you know, be somehow involved in that ecosystem, and you can make a huge impact. In the business world and I will tell you in terms of the reaction that I'm getting to this piece. That's one of the things that's really coming back to me. So are things getting better when it comes to Hollywood? How many times have we done stories too about you know, it's a very white Hollywood He is behind the scenes. He is providing the money or providing the supply chain and infrastructure to get things done that in a more diverse way. Is it getting easier? I think it would you say it is a little bit easier. I mean, look at the results are going to have to speak for themselves. You talked about the historic nature of Judas in the Black Messiah. You know, One of the cool things about this piece was I got to talk about Charles to both. Ted Sarandos, the CEO of Netflix, as well as Ryan Coogler, of course, the director of Black Panther who ended up being another producer on Judas. This was the project that Ryan Cooker said. I've got to do this. He got together with the director Shaka King. They brought Charles King. No relation into the mix. He raised the money. So that was historic, You know, but we are not very far removed from hashtag Oscars so white, we know that, um, the academy is making some movement ultimately. The money does the talking and I think one of the things that is happening is you are seeing that there is not just a domestic audience, but a global audience. All eyes, of course, are going to be on Ryan Cukor's next project. I spoke to him while he was in pre production for like Panther two. Oh, my God, I can't wait either.
