"97 7, you're information station. By the million Americans are expected to again hit the roads and skies for the long Thanksgiving Day weekend. Derek Guinness is watching it for ABC News and he spoke with northwest news radios, Bill O'Neill. Derek, let's look first at the expected number of travelers that's been put out by triple-A. Yeah, triple-A says 55 million Americans. 5, 5 million will travel during the long holiday weekend. That is an uptick slightly from pre-pandemic levels. So it's interesting that more people are traveling now, at least they're feeling more confident to travel now. This Thanksgiving than they have been over the past two years during the pandemic. Now, of course, this does all come though at a very challenging economic time for most of us, you know, it costs money to travel, gas prices, airline tickets and more, depending on what you're saying. Right. But the economists say inflation has actually cooled since October since last month, roughly around 7.7%. So Americans, even though they've been feeling pretty badly about the conditions that inflation is brought them higher prices for goods, higher rents, that kind of thing. And gas prices are now down, but they were at record highs over the summer. They are noticing and beginning to at least feel like they can get out again and do some traveling. I see their loved ones. They're not expected to take a break this year from the holidays with the travel forecast being up. So much this year. Are we hearing anything in terms of incentives to get people to travel? Or maybe they don't need it at this point in time. Well, the incentive is really only personal. People wanting to see their loved ones get to grandma's house and the like. But they're not seeing a lot of discounts in terms of air travel for instance. Flights are up. Airfares 22% more than they were in 2019, 43% higher than last year. So it's sort of like the opposite of an incentive in terms of airfare ticket prices, but still people are planning to travel. And of course, I guess the same old advice does apply. You know, if you're going to hit the road, leave early, get to the airport early, all that kind of stuff. Yeah, that and there are actually some other tips for people to just kind of stay calm. Get up and stretch, limit the alcohol, try and use calming techniques because you're going to have to pack more than your patients when you're dealing with 55 million people traveling by the skies, the roads and the rails, this holiday season. So the normal advice leave early, check your status of your mode of transportation, but also use some calming techniques. You might need them. Little courtesy just might go a long way. ABC's dark Dennis with us on the northwest news line. That's northwest news radio's Bill O'Neill. From ABC News, tech trends. The most popular hybrid in the world just got a major redesign, Chad Kirchner of EV pulse says early versions of the Toyota Prius offered hybrid technology to the masses and environmental street Cred, too. This was the green car. Not only for saving gas and stuff like that, but you wanted to be seen in it. And last night, at the LA auto show, Toyota pulled the wraps off in all new version. The Prius, which comes in either all wheel drive or front wheel drive, and then there is the plugin hybrid the Prius prime. Toyota says the plugin model has 50% more electric range in the current car. They're probably going to say 45, 50 miles, I think, is probably where they're trying to think. But the plugin is heavier than the standard hybrid. So if you're somebody who does a lot of highway driving, the regular premium will be more efficient. If you have the ability to consistently plug it in and do around the town stuff then the plugin hybrid will be the more efficient. With tech trends, I'm Andy field, ABC News. "Seth. Hey Robin. So the most commonly discussed future queen air travel is electric and there have been some successful test flights this week a united announced that they intend to have electric aircraft aircraft flying regional routes by 2030. That seems ambitious to me, but also just stupid question, but are they just plugging in airplanes? I mean, is it like a car? A little bit like that. Obviously more to it and there are all kinds of other safety concerns we were talking about something that's not moving along the ground, right when the car stalls less of a problem than an airplane stalls, but yeah, I mean, this is battery technology. As you said, it exists, you know, we see drones, not a lot of passenger flights yet. That'll be coming. They're talking about 30 seat jets that could fly up to about a 125 miles purely on electric and then there would be a hybrid motor that kind of like a car, like a Toyota Prius or something, it relies partly on gas. You can fly about that much farther. So let's say you flew from Indianapolis to Chicago. It would make it most of the way on electric and then gas powered engine would be kick in. Oh, okay, maybe. I mean, well, it would, if it didn't get their entirely on electric, that's what beds. Well, look, I mean, we talked yesterday with Robin farsad about a carmakers GM saying they're going to make batteries for cars that can then also heat homes and heat solar panels and maybe homeowners can sell some of the electricity and Robin came right out and said, I don't think this is going to be happening soon. I mean, for instance, the industry, the grid, they're not going to be happy about people selling electricity. What are some of the impediments to the airline industry doing electric? Well, the simple fact is we kind of joked that up before, but just that you are keeping an airplane in the air. This is an industry that has had a harder time going green than some others. You know, the industry says, look, we don't consume very much carbon. We don't emit very much carbon compared to other industries, but it is a growing source of that. And just getting sustainable fuel. Even something resembling current fuel but sustainable produced on any kind of scale has been really challenging. Airlines are flying using sustainable fuel using you go from algae and so forth, but it's just hard to scale it up. Okay, some of the other things you're talking about delta is talking about creating an electric flying shuttle service. American is investing in a hydrogen production firm with the hope of having a hydrogen based aircraft frontier looks like it just wants to cram a lot of us on a plane. They have the first ultra fuel efficient aircraft from Airbus more efficient, but what is your sense of when all this is happening? Less than a minute here. Yeah. Well, a combination of what you mentioned frontier, they have unveiled this plane. This is the new Airbus three 21. And it becomes more efficient. Yeah, through a mix of high-tech and low tech. It legitimately has some of the most efficient engines are called geared turbofan engines for Pratt need a new technology out there, but you mentioned part of it, part of how they're so efficient is by doing something not a lot of us like, which is taking away leg room, right? The more people you put on the airplane, the more efficient it becomes because you burn, not very much more fuel, but you can carry more people. But it's our carbon footprint too. When we're up in an airplane, so

Trish Regan Knows How Bidenflation Will Affect the Average US Consumer
"We've got the report from Bloomberg, a group of economists have said that you can expect Americans should expect to have to increase or find for their budget and extra $5200 this year for inflation purposes alone. That's the reality that you can comment on and then this from Washington state governed governor Jay inslee has just signed a bill that will ban all fossil fuel field vehicles by 2030 in the state. So it's going to be just teslas and priuses in the state of Washington. Your reaction. A bad time and on that one. Look, I mean, we need all the help we can get because we are facing satire oil prices, which means higher prices at the gas pumps, which by the way, means higher prices for everything, right? From food because it's going to get from point a to point B not to mention we've now lost the bread basket that is Ukraine, right? So a lot of things are going to be going up in price. I think that Bloomberg is right when they point to economists saying a $5000 increase, I think that's exactly what you're going to be looking at possibly even more. We'll see, you know, once inflation starts, sometimes these things kind of get rolling, Seb, and you have a supply chain crisis that won't end, combined with money printing, like you've never seen, combined with really, really bad policy choices. I mean, I'm frustrated and I may have said this to you last week because it seems as though our intelligence folks that they knew this was coming, right? They knew that Putin for years. They've known he was at risk of doing something quite like this. So why weren't we doing a better job at making sure that we had locked up our own energy sources right here in the United States of America, knowing that we would be exposed to this vulnerability? And then you got people that clearly clearly don't have all the wires connecting in the head. They're out there in Washington saying, okay, we're going to ban vehicles other than EVs. It's actually mind boggling and it's frustrating because I know how hard this is going to hurt the American consumer. And

Kevin, I think the thing that you might benefit most from at least from the psychic perspective is do a little Google search on the phrase remembering the hits and forgetting the misses. True. Because one of the tactics for a psychic, if they're doing it, what's called a cold read where they truly know nothing about you. Keep it in mind. There is no such thing as a cold read if you're in person because they can see you and they can figure out things about you just by how you look. But cold read is a process of throwing out things that have high probability of hitting like I could say if I'm a psychic, I'm seeing something about the number three. Does that mean, no, I'm only kidding, did you have parents? Yeah, I got a mom on a dad. Okay, well that's what the three is about. Because, you know, and it's not the mom and the dad, if you have two siblings, well, there's the three. If you have one sibling and a dog that you love, there's the three. So they can post hoc rationalize this random number that they threw, which is not actually random. They often start with three because they know they can always build something with three. If they said 7, well, that's a lot of harder. So you start off with something like, I'm seeing a name of a person and it starts with a D and an M they aren't picking random letters. They're picking some of the very most popular letters, and if you pick a, B, C, D, or MST are letters like that. The odds are like 95% that you're going to have someone within the 5 or 6 most closest people to you that have one of those letters in their first or last name. So it seems like, oh my God. You got something right away. Plus, if you're in person, they can look at you and like my hands are baby soft. So I don't work for a living. Someone who studies humans will know instantly that I don't do any fucking work. And they can look at you and make some educated guesses. They know your age. They know you're maybe your race or maybe they might be able to identify your gender. If they're going with a binary thought process, they can see what you drove up in in a Harley-Davidson or a Toyota Prius and make some assumptions about what your lifestyle is. I agree. Does that affect the longevity of the of the system, then they can. Yeah, Absolutely. It can mostly affects the functionality. "I drive a 2010 Prius. My husband has one of the scam tools and it keeps coming up with a P 0401. Which says Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected. What's that mean? Is that something I need to get fixed right away. Is it dangerous? Yes. First of all, give it to us in layman's terms. What is it saying? That is an exhaust gas recirculation valve E g. R. Okay, There's a valve on their problem is likely not the valve, but the valve opens up, and it allows combustion gases that have been burned that have been passed into the exhaust to be recirculated back into the engine, which controls cylinder attempts and affects your emissions to the good to the positive side keeps things cleaned up. What happens commonly on that model Prius? Same thing That happened years, Chris. To pull the intake and clean out the e G. R passages because the egg passages get full of carbon, and it doesn't allow any flow, so we take it off. We clean it make sure that they're completely open and then we pull the valve off and do some testing. Make sure they're blocked, But everyone we've seen has been blocked. So far. It's so common that when we ever put in a certified used engine in one of these vehicles The intake comes off. We clean those passages and with it out of the car, we can do this in 10 minutes, so we do it because once it's in the car, you're looking at 3 to 5 hours to do the whole job. It's going to keep your check engine light on. It's not going to run clean. Got a Prius. It's a green car. It's not going to be as green as it could be, like lime green these little help there, But that's not a real cheap fix. When you're looking at 4 to $500 to take that apart and clean it all out. A lot of people just say, Well, I've got a lot of miles by car. I'm just going to keep driving it. It'll probably be fine. Does that happen? For the same reason that they have to really do a strong catalyst system on those cars because they just don't build up engine operating temperature. That's part of it. You get the carbon start to build up and then the engine's not run a lot. It hardens and Yeah. You get card Bill up. You can use and emissions system cleaning kit from one of our partners like Justice brothers that will clean out some of these things before he gets blown right. That's what I was. Just once it's plugged. You can't clean it. It's kind of like a house drain. If it was full of wet cement. You could probably flush it out and get it cleaned up. But once it dries, you're not no Always that something you recommend taking care of right away. Or how many miles around the car 233 saddles. I would leave it because if the car makes 300 with that engine engine, I'll be surprised, but it could. I wouldn't say surprised. I'd say, Wow, that's one of them made it to 300. Because a lot of them don't we see a lot of them that are engines fail in the 2 50 range, And that again depends on how much has been driven on the highway versus in town, because those things really screamed. Going down the highway, and that really wears them out. Are you using or losing any oil? I'm not a lot when it's due for an oil change. It's about ready. It needs a little in it. So it's do anyhow. So that oil is turning into carbon and hardening in that e G R system as well too. So, yeah, I probably wouldn't mess with it. I'd save that cash to four either an engine when that time comes, or Replacing the car, and it's funny that I say either an engine or replacing the car because right now, with the number of cars in short supply, like they are, people are fixing stuff that I've never dreamt that they would fix. And we're seeing lots of old nice looking cars with high mileage getting re manufactured and used engines put in them things much older than normal that are going for much higher prices. When it's time to look for Or a replacement car. If you go to our studio sponsor auto temples dot com, you will find all the cars from all the websites that you could search in one place and you'll see stuff first, not only increased prices on cars, but things for sale that normally may not be listed on a site like that. You're going to see 98 Buick list sabers. I was on there the other day, and I saw an Aztec with the tent package. Shannon all the times you've said to me or to people put 1000 bucks on it. And set it in the yard. I mean, just it's at the end of its like that's not necessary. It's put 3000 bucks on it said in the artists the point I was going to make just reinforcement. Russ was saying, I think that for some people they're looking. You know what I'm going to spend more money than I'm probably comfortable short term on replacing the engine instead of over paying for a used car or or a new car that I can't get right now and then putting myself into a deeper financing burden if I have to go longer term or have to do a different pain. Payment. It might be better to do the short money and pay it off in a shorter period of time and just do the major drive train replacement. If that is what happens now that we've seen the new cars that have all these lines have been shut down, and they're dragging out. People are asking Well, if they're selling a 21 in the end of 22 or even 23. Are they going to still title is the 21. Well, of course they are, because it's a 21 that's never been sold, but it looks like the used cars are going to remain high end price. The cars that haven't been sold yet are going to sell for about the same or a little more and the new cars there. Already saying, expect them to be more money when they come out. So right now, I think it's a great investment to fix If a car looks nice. It's a great investment to keep it going Medium fern, that was the we had a green car once and that was the color medium. Fern. Tessa. Thanks very much for the call. Good luck. We're gonna take a quick break. You're.

Yeah, and we were speculating, you know, trying to forget what How do you do? How did they do it so quickly? And I guess this is I don't know if this is the exclusive way of doing and having a jack it up and get under there, or some people are able to do it without doing that. But that was the mode he chose and the Jack failed and fell on him. Converters were targeted because they contain some precious metals, which can be scrapped and then sold to make a quick buck. On day estimate that the thieves are getting about $200 from each catalytic converter. Wow, and they're in the story. There's some photos of, I guess, um Some of the recovered catalytic converters on and it's amazing these things they're just piled up. This is this is rampant. This is really, really, really, really, really way to protect yourself. So that yours is installing. Can you go to the garage and have them welded on? Or is this something that they actually cut off? There's really not a way to protect your vehicle. Well, looking at these photos, it looks like they're literally cut off. So I don't know what the hell you would do. The only way I could think you could really prevent this from happening is, you know, Be sure to park in an area where it's not gonna be too isolated and maybe an area where it would be hard for them to pull this off in your garage and home. I think if somebody was doing this in your neighborhood Maybe somebody is has gone to work in that third cars in the driveway, walked outside and you saw somebody working on your neighbor's car. Protect Your Camera Gear from Theft
"So i have a few stories to start out with one very close to home to from the headlines just to illustrate just how crazy things are right now and it comes to real stealing camera gear and then i have. Some ideas These are things that i'm practicing in my own career But i'm going to share them with you in terms of how to protect myself how to protect yourself and how to hang onto our cameras because it feels like there are a lot of folks out there that want to take them from us and obviously we don't want to lose any of our gear that we like so much and we don't want any harm to come to anyone. The happens to be in the area at the time. So these considerations are very important. So let's start out with a few stories of what is going on now. The first one is close to home because it happened after one of my workshops in two thousand nineteen the bodega bay workshop. And this is the gas station smash and grab so one of our workshop. Participants Had finished up and he was heading back to the airport and a rental suv and he had his camera gear in the back in the hatch area of the suv and he just made a stop at the gas station and he needed to go inside to get a couple items and in that short period of time that he left his car which was locked he left it locked to go inside to get a couple of things. Someone had either been eyeballing him or you know. We're never sure exactly how this happens. But they knew exactly where to go and they went to his suv. They smashed in the back window. And that's what they do. They don't mess around. They just smashed the window. They reach in. They grab the gear in his case. I believe it was two backpacks full gear and then they speed off all in just a matter of seconds truly disappointing to hear that that happened to him. He had had a great workshop. It was one of his first workshops with us and then to have it. Finish on that note made me feel very bad and you go inside for a minute your cars locked and he still lose your gear. That's what i'm talking about the state of things right now. Now this next one was in penn. Pixel i read it on pedal pixel just today in Let me read you this. And by the way i have the link to the story In the show notes. The talkers robbed while stuck in san francisco. Traffic lose seven thousand dollars in camera gear. I don't know if you saw this or not. There's actually a video that goes with it at someone else. Videoed it happening okay and you can see that when you go to the link. Regia the text right here. This may be the modern day equivalent of a stagecoach robbery. A of photographers were just brazenly robbed. While they were sitting in traffic in san francisco robers smashed their rear window and stole a bag filled with seven thousand dollars in gear and it was all caught on camera. Abc seven which is a local news station reports that the husband and wife real estate photographers ben. And marsha of home shots were waiting to get onto the interstate eighty ip around four thirty pm friday afternoon after finishing a photo shoot near dolores park as the video above shows and so they do have the video there a dark honda than pulled up. Alongside the photographers. Prius a man jumped out quickly. Smashed the rear window smashed. They're sitting in the car. Smashes the rear window. Grab the equipment bag that was in the trunk hop back into the car and sped off. The whole incident lasted about ten seconds. Start to finish and it was caught on camera behind. By tesla driver named alex who then pulled over in exchange. Contact information with the photographers marcia. Who had been driving. The car had noticed the dark car falling them after they left the photo shoot. This is a very important point. Then estimates that his stolen gear which includes a camera lens drone in was worth around seven thousand

Lx and infiniti q fifty so people don't buy a lot of cars anymore they specially don't buy small cars. But i'll tell you the ones that are the most reliable small cars the chevy bolt. The honda fit the mazda three the toyota corolla and the toyota prius and the toyota prius c in addition the toyota prius prime. Could there be enough. Prius is on there and the volkswagen beetle so The only american owned company that made the list was chevy bolt but most of these other vehicles are actually manufactured in north america. Even if they're owned by quote unquote foreign automakers that a vehicle. That's very reliable. Starting you're looking at a vehicle that's very reliable is key but not enough. You want to do to other things you want to check the van to see if the vehicle has been in any major accident and it's time of ownership that the van research would show and then the other thing is a condition to purchase. You want to have that vehicle. Checked out by a mechanic of your choosing. I
How Native American voters swung the 2020 presidential election
"This election president elect joe biden democratic presidential candidate to win the state of arizona in twenty four years and one group who played a major role in flipping. The state for biden was arizona's native american population. According to high country news counties that included the navajo nation hope tribes and to hana autumn nation. Where some of the key areas that help. The president elect carry the state and in the swing state of wisconsin. Native voters also appeared to have been part of turning that state luke now as president-elect biden prepares to take office organizers and tribal leaders want to make sure he doesn't take their votes for granted the leonard horsemen on chairman of the sukhois amish trod president affiliate tragic north west indians under president obama chairman forstmann was appointed as vice chair of the advisory council on historic preservation. And last month he endorsed the biden harris ticket. Along with more than two hundred other. American indian leaders and biden begins to assemble his cabinet. Chairman foresman has a specific request. Appoint a native american official as the next secretary of the interior. He and shannon hosie president of the stockbridge muncie tribe made their case in a recent opinion piece for reuters. When i spoke to the chairman. I asked him to explain why the department of the interior is so important to native communities. Many of our indian programs of course are housed in the department of interior. Of course the bureau of indian affairs and Many other agencies that affect indian country holding the breeland management the national park service and a lot of this has to do with our Trust resources which are land and water and Cultural resources sake replaces. So it's very important that we have a secretary. Interior that has a A good understanding of any country in our values and traditions. What are some of the main environmental issues. That are most important to indian country and that you think the next secretary of the interior should focus on well in the pacific northwest here. We really really rely on Our treaty resources as we call them or our natural resources. Wildlife salmon traditional plant's clean water. Not only for food but also for medicine and also for our spiritual life and ceremonial life and We feel that A change in leadership at the interior prius back from the last four years of of focus on deregulation and prophets seemed to have come over the importance of protecting habitat and Sacred places and that's been demonstrated in a lot of the activities the administration's engaged in that have Ignored tribal needs and priorities in many parts of the west. One of the people that you suggest could hold. The secretary of interior role is representative deb. Holland of new mexico. Who had on the show before and who is a citizen of the laguna pueblo tribe. Why do you think representative holland would be good for the role while we've known deb hall in a congresswoman now for at least a one term or more and She's demonstrated his Commitment to indian country obviously being a member of laguna pueblo and very close to their traditions and values which are very similar. Many trump's across the nation the importance of place and landscaped. The cultural landscape be importance of our traditions. Our stories our way alive on. It's all connected strongly to respect dean and holding our lands and waters sacred to our survival As an people something very important to us so we really believed that coming for new mexico deb has an understanding of energy policy and also understanding of the importance of environmental and resource protection. So i think she'll be a good candidate for trying to balance those two things in her leadership of the department.
Killing Conflict with Dangerous Love Chad Ford - burst 13
"I'm going to hold myself accountable to how I see others, and then how I treat them in three I'm GonNa roll up my sleeves and I'm Gonna I'm GonNa. I'M NOT GONNA. Try to win a conflict nor am I just going to give in and rollover nor am I going to avoid that that real relationships are when we roll up our sleeves and work on our problems together if that takes weeks fair enough if that takes months fair enough because we're committed to each other. And we're committed to each other success and each other's well being in each other's happiness. This message we live in a really polarized country I'm right now J. seems to be lost on. So many people right now that there is no successful outcome. No right to an election if half the country feels abandoned if half the country fills loss of half the country feels like they are not being seen or heard or valued. There's no win ready. For anybody for the winners or for the rights, there's really no. Right, and that's true. All the way down into whoever our partners are to our relationship with our kids you you win an argument and your spouse loses you lost to. Absolutely. And you might not recognize it today. But YOU'RE GONNA pay for it I'm down the road and so learning how to collaborate and really problem solving committing to that. Is is is something that is a value that I think sits at the very basis of what it means to be human I'm right and what it means to be a good person. Right and so I can have a value about is on time or you know this is my political stance on whatever it is and and that could be really important to be fair enough right and we disagree on it fair enough values important to you. It's not necessarily important to me, but because it's important you. How do I? How do I understand that I understand what underlies that what? What, what, what's in your life experience whatever that's made that? So import do and how do we get creative about finding solutions that meet that need for you as well as meet the needs that I have I'm GonNa Bring the table because one thing I think people misunderstand about dangerous love love and thanks soft and okay. Here's here's what you're actually telling me. Just, love the person just give up whatever it is that I dream. Hope for one. Just let them let them win right because that's what that's what a really good person does and my answer to that is also the exact same as why you don't fight them right that doesn't work either right in a relationship. We it's it's about us not about me or them it's about us, and so us preservation becomes the rule of the day. We're Chad. Do. Right. There I'm just telling you. Chat four dangerous love is the book. I WANNA I wanNA talk about I. Think there's something fundamental about the metaphors at US between smog and the cocoon. because. I think. We've kind of danced around it but I think the metaphors are so powerful. that. If if people understand whether they're whether they see conflict as from a smog perspective or cocoon perspective that can really help us I believe because it helped me you know start to see conflict in a different way I. Think it's an important concept I. You want to just go ahead and give us the smog versus cocoon. Because I think they're powerful metaphors by the way. The Somebody engages me and says, Hey, I want you to help me mediate your conflict or whatever the I I asked them is can you give me a metaphor of what this conflict like means to you usually people pick things like volcano exploding or you know shark chasing nereo something that's really sort of dark and Morbid it's really helpful for me because I would say in my book they have something called the smog, the of conflict and and I use smog as an analogy right as a metaphor because you think about smog is it makes everything hazy it's not good for your lungs to breathe. Continued exposure to that can even cause cancer in your lungs and what have you. But also people feel pretty helpless of what do I do a smog like I can go buy a prius or something like that or I can start walking to work, but there's millions of other people driving cars. All over the place and none of them are necessarily going to be doing that as well, and so something has to change externally me. But in the meantime, I'm slowly suffocating dying right and that and that's sort of a view of conflict. It's going to lead the self-defeating conflict styles and start competing or I'm gonNA start running or I'm just GonNa lay down and die and given an in each of those cases of not actually going to get anything that I want that nor will I get something that will actually be released sustainable in a relationship but if you Have this cocoon view if you think about it. Okay. Like there's a caterpillar in there like walking around their leaves they're doing they're thing right. But then one day they wanted to become a butterfly. So they get in this Christmas or this cocoon and it's really tight and it's dark and probably pretty scary and there I doubt it's very comfortable for the Caterpillar. If you know what happens next the Caterpillar actually liquefies it actually actually essentially dies right but then it comes out of cocoon in it's it's got wings and it looks completely different by the way to I. A butterfly is not a caterpillar with wings. It looks like a different creature, but it can fly now. And I think that's a better metaphor for what we're trying to get with conflict. Yes. It can be a little scary. Yes it can feel confining. Yes my heart might be beating. Through it, but it allows us to fly at the end allows us to look at the challenges that we're facing together and find solutions that work for both of us and that so much better. Than just running or fighting or laying down. And and when we do that, we can we can fly and so yeah, conflict could be hard. It can be scary. That's that's that's true. But look what it can do to transform us. Right and transform our relationship and the best relationships as beautiful in the workplace are collaborative the best marriages. Are Collaborative John. Goodman. Who's done tons of research on married says you have an eighty percent chance of your marriage not working out if you don't let your partner influence you. An influence, your decision making. And then vice versa right. In other words if it's all about me, if I've got the inward mindset and my partner doesn't influence me, I influenced my partner. Right eighty percent chance of my marriage falling apart sometime. I'm right because people need to be seen. They need to be regarded. They need to be heard they need to feel like they're influence matters and that's true for all of us, and so I have to be alive to these people aren't always going to want to do it the way that I wanna do it or see it the way that I wanna see it and have to be open to finding pathways. Right that that worked for both of us in that, that's what makes a. Relationship a great relationship and why so many of us are right now struggling with certain relationships in our life and saying man I just wish I wish this was better I. Wish I had a better relationship with one of my kids right now really struggling her I know my wife and I are like roommates right now like you know we we live together but we're not really connected where the walking dead where zombies like we're living. But we're not living our communities we can't even engage. In these things and the answer is yeah, because we're not. We're not allowing ourselves to be influenced.

The Only 3 Ways You Can Differentiate and Compete
"I WANNA start by saying that I've come up with these. Three ways is just through my own experiences in business. Our Business Webinar Jar. Webinar software competes in a very busy market with some big players competitors veterans like zoom and go to Webinar have literally millions of users. How do I get a slice of that Pie? This is a question I had to force myself to ask. And it really just boils boils down to three ways a differentiation. Let's start with the first one and that's Nishi down. Whatever your product? Whatever your service you can serve lots of different markets but if you focus on one market on one group of people you become their choice because you've built a product of service and experience around their needs simple? You want to start a software business that helps go build their websites like like a website builder instead of building a website builder for anybody who needs a website. Let's say you focus on photographers and videography hours and your Website builders really cater to that market. These customers have unique needs and the certain things. They don't need that they don't WanNa be confused by so he become the website builder for photographers. Viagra offers all the videography in photographers. That are using something else can move over to you because you serve them directly. Let me give you another author example. A real world example CANVAS CANVAS DOT COM is a cloud based graphic design tool. It's incredibly popular. But it's a niche product. Product is canvas more powerful in feature rich than Adobe Photoshop Note. It's not it's a fraction of what photoshop can do but not everybody. It needs photoshop professional graphic designers. They need photoshop. And they're gonNA use Adobe Photoshop and they're a ideal customer for adobe before before people that are just trying to print a flyer for their book club or for Garage Sale. They don't need photoshop. They need something simple. Easy to use with limited limited features. So they don't get confused and this is where canvas comes in. Canada actually provides a product that's limited and they kind of force their market by saying. Hey we're for people that are trying to just easily design something in a few minutes without a graphic design degree this means they are excluding the professionals bunching down. They speak directly to people that they serve that their product release four so the first way of differentiating is initiating to a group of people in your larger marketplace. The segue differentiate is implementation. And I believe this is the most powerful way differentiate. It's what makes the biggest difference. The most popular example of this is facebook okay. FACEBOOK is not the first social media platform there was my space friendster but facebook implemented it in a way that made it easier. The concept is the same but their implementation was different and therefore they were easily able to differentiate themselves and stand out. There was a period of time where friendster and my space had more features. So it's not about feature sets but but it's more like hey they figured out a way to make social media work and the implement of the I did differently. Here's another real world example in the automobile industry before four. Tesla if you were conscious of the environment and you're a green customer you would buy at Iota Prius to Yoda's implementation to serve. This customer was to create a hybrid vehicle to compact car. It's not really a performance driven. It's not very fast as not really great to handle. It's not a great drive is not luxuriance but it was a symbol. If you drove that car it was a statement. I care about the environment. That's why Leonardo DiCaprio drove Prius until Tesla came around and Tessa Tesla said. Hey we want to serve this market. The people that care about the environment that want to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. But we don't want to sacrifice style or speed or comfort or luxury. We're going to implement this idea differently. It's GonNa be a little bit more expensive but we believe people are going to buy it and enjoy our implementation of this idea. More more than Toyota and history speaks for itself. Leonardo di caprio drives Tesla now. But the point here is that they decided to implement this idea differently with your product. Doc with your service how you implementing your solution differently in a way that adds value with us with women are Ninja. There's a lot of different webinars offers. There was a different ways that you can create you know meetings and do mastermind calls. There's so many ways you could do this. Coaching calls why US while our implementation tation is quite different from everybody else. We actually really focus on ease of use a great experience in terms of building the Webinar an incredible quality. So this is how we want to really implement this idea. We understand if our users find easy to use. They're going to continue to use is it and they're gonNA use it more often and therefore they'll be long-term customers so we're attracting people that say. Hey I love doing webinars but I don't want another headache right. We actually have a testimony L. A. quote a message came from one of our users said I love with an tried other platforms but I said No. Because they're overly complicated. I need a Webinar service. Not another headache. And that's exactly who we attract all right number three. The Third Way to friendship is service. This is a game changer. When when you understand this you understand this is really a way for you to Propel Your Business your competition can copy you? They can copy your features then copier pricing model hectic and copier sales copy. And even your branding but the one thing they can't copy is your service how you treat your customers before before during and after the sale the customer service experience the whole experience of being customer the emails you send now the chats you have the live webinars. You do all that kind of stuff. That interaction you have with your audience with your customer makes the difference. Okay this is something that we tripled down on on an ARP business for the last three years and it's paid off and now when we look at our customer surveys. The number one reason why people love women are inches because one. It's easy to use to who the customer service if you're a small business. This is a great way for you to get a leg up on the bigger businesses larger companies. It's hard to regularly great service. They have large customer service teams and sometimes things become impersonal. But if you're a small team in your managing tickets yourself or you have a small team running customer service you could still train them and be very friendly and very very personal and helpful and be available in human. Our biggest challenges oranges as we grow the business. How do we maintain that to make sure our customer service never suffers because it's one of our biggest differentiator so you could differentiate with the your service the way you treat your customers throughout the buying journey pass Their purchase when they buy the next product with the Knicks Service. So the next you you know a thing that you offer them so they have niche implementation service. Those are the three
