Chicago Public Schools Close Over Teachers' COVID Concerns

"Where teachers unions have managed to strike and so Chicago's public schools cancel classes today. They voted overwhelmingly to return to remote learning, and they defied the city's orders. They should all be fired. Now I realize that sounds draconian, but when the inmates are running the asylum, you've got to take steps to cure the situation. And they should all be fired. Governor pritzker should fire them, should put a call nationally for teachers, just disenfranchise the union bayonet. It's illegal. What they've done, they have screwed hundreds of thousands of parents and students because they don't want to go to work. And it's that simple and it's that brutal effect. You know, if they get rid of the filibuster, I don't think that's going to happen. But the upside of it will be that when the United States elects a Republican president a Senate and the house are representatives, which could be as soon as 2024 and it looks like this, given Joe Biden's collapse in the polls, we can ban at the federal level and be certified every teacher union. Absolutely, we can do a whole body can sever their pension benefits. We can pass all sorts of laws. It'll be great. So I have mixed emotions about the filibuster because getting rid of these draconian self interested parasites. And I know there are fine teachers out there. I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about your unions, their parasites, and they are not doing their job. There are many years to get vaccinated to protect themselves. A year to get a booster and these kids, there's a David Leonard column, which I'll come to later. That's the number one story. The second largest city in the United States doesn't have school because their union doesn't want to have school. It's not because of the virus you can help with the virus, $130 billion spent in the United States on school relief. They just want more money. They want more time off. They want something. They don't want to work. They want to stay home and do what I'm doing right now, which is talking

The Most Insane Leftist Responses to the Rittenhouse Verdict

"Excuse me, the daily wire. Collected, they listed. We're going to post this, Mike online dot com. The most insane leftist responses. To the rittenhouse verdict. President Biden, while the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge the jury has spoken. What do you mean you're angry and concert? What are you angry about? What you wanted this kid's head on a platter? Is that what it is? Self defense isn't supposed to be self defense? How about Gavin newsham? This nutcase, governor, America today, he said, you can break the law, carry around weapons built for a military. Shoot and kill people and get away with it. That's the message. We've just sent to armed vigilantes across the nation. You see, newsham, these kooks never condemn the rioters or the looters. No, no, no, no. The guy that had a gun in defect was trying to protect a business and was defending himself. He's the bad guy. Not the pedophile trying to kill him. No, no. He's the good guy. How about governor J B pritzker, of Illinois? This classic. He heard about Newsom evidently instead hold my beer. Pritzker said, carrying a loaded gun into a community 20 miles from your home and shooting unarmed citizens is fundamentally wrong. How about the congressional black caucus? Here was their statement. It is unconscionable our justice system would allow an armed vigilante who traveled to Kenosha Wisconsin and killed Joseph rosenbaum Anthony huber and the wounded gauge grows gross Croix to go free. Colin Kaepernick. He said, well, but I can do you better. We just witnessed a system built on white supremacy validate the terroristic acts of a white supremacist. NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, ha, let the boy be black, he said, and it would have been life. Hell he would have had his life taken before this BS trial. Sad. House judiciary committee chairman Jerry Nadler. These are not insignificant people. This is a very prominent Democrat. He said, quote, this heartbreaking verdict is a miscarriage of justice and sets a dangerous precedent which justifies federal review by the Department of Justice.

Border Crisis Sparks Calls for Change in Immigration Policy

"June twenty first two thousand nineteen jv pritzker signs measure to help protect illegal immigrants in illinois governor jv pritzker in june of two dozen nineteen signed three bills designed to protect illegal immigrants in illinois that would prohibit law enforcement agencies from coordinating with federal immigration authorities. Pritzker sign the keeping illinois families together. Act which prohibits local law enforcement from coordinating with immigration customs enforcement. Now this was two years ago. Why am i mentioning this. Because you have blue states by the way this is one of thirty examples of blue states that have been signing laws that prohibit police officers and local sheriffs in da's from coordinating with federal officials. That's an act of secession. That's an act of nullification saying we don't want any part of this. Federal compact and we as republicans and conservatives sat idly by like. Oh yeah that's bad. Let's keep going to the courts they've been ignoring the courts and ignoring the laws for years. And so then when one point eight million illegals come into the country to change the country permanently by the way what do we do. We beg joe biden for help. So what are the democrats do when things start to trend in a direction. They don't like they take action. The democrats have the willingness to reshape. Destroy the country. Republicans are getting there now. Some people emailed us and they said well. Charlie couldn't joe biden nationalize the national guard. It is very rare to do so usually only done with the consent of the governor and prayer pet presidents have rarely federalized a state or territory guard without the consent of the governor in the wake of hurricane katrina president. George w bush declined to take control of the louisiana's national guard due to the objection of governor kathleen blanco. But this is such an easy thing. First of all joe biden can't nationalize state troopers. Secondly he can't nationalize texas rangers. Thirdly the governor of texas would say i'm sorry what did you design a piece of paper. There's still our national guard. They're not gonna listen to you federalized nationalize i mean federalize. And so what should have been done. And what's still can be done. Is every single. "One of the main reasons why we are seeing the dramatic escalation in certain areas struggling with the chinese corona virus in addition to monoclonal being suppressed and in addition to ivermectin and hydrochloric. Quinn is how overweight our countries and again. I say this is someone who has my own health problems. I don't get enough sleep if someone is overweight. You should look have a health problem. Don't try to own it. They'll be like oh. Yeah i'm fat and proud like that's actually really creepy. And it's not the way it should be. It's not good for you. it's not good for your joints. It's not good for you could get diabetes and so what we have here. Amazingly is to governors. That i think are that actually. That's not true. Jay pritzker is actually fatter than these governors. So jim justice. I don't know who's who is bigger. Jim justice or jay pritzker. That's tough tie again. I'm not fat shaming okay but at some point when you get to that level it's just a lack of will. "What do you think the future is of exchanges i mean i think exchanges. They're like they're kind of like casinos right there basically a feeding people's base Desire to gamble and that basis not gonna go away as long as there's no sort of you know regis regulation to stop it and i'm not pushing for that regulation by the way. I think people should be able to trace the coins that they like so You know like they can trade penny stocks right or whatever You trade whatever he wants to go to vegas right. If you wanna gamble you can gamble i think those exchanges are They firmly in the gambling camp for me. I think that they started off as ramps but because they turn into the gambling platforms that they are They can't really serve the on ramp case too well because they're really just trying to get people in the door so they can do their thing Which is fine again. I'm not against that. As a business model it makes lots of money. Obviously coin base is a very valuable company but For me and for us it's one hundred ethical mission to teach people about what aquinas and turn them into bitcoin irs. Because we don't care the gambling is going to happen. That's it for me. It's like a total side note to the actual revolution of changing the money of the world. So i think the exchanges will exist in perpetuity. They will just like you know. Stock markets will exist perpetuity and pink sheet stocks and penny stocks will continue trade in perpetuity it's Those companies have any value or any fundamental reason for being is just people want to trade them so they'll continue trading them Doj in meam coins will continue in perpetuity. Write these things will happen. But i think it also just means that the on ramps that are focused. Because why do people come to us versus some other places because they like our education. They liked that they can talk to somebody. They like that they. Can you know have a essentially a big point where everybody's going you know like if you have one you can talk to them great but a lot of people don't have acquaint- friend so it's nice to be able to talk to somebody and ask them questions and i think at the end of the day in this phase of bitcoin. We are in which i think the last for the next twenty five years where people are just learning about it That's where on ramps are going to really shine and exchanges will continue to make their money but it's not. That's not their future. Their future is really just Gambling platform yeah we are in a war narratives in. This is quite interesting. You say about that something. I've been discussing recently. I think even disgusted with this war narratives in the moment that bitcoin is an instead of for me. It's exciting but for most people isn't exciting. Penguin enough teaser. Exciting theorems exciting schick. Abc don't coins. Exciting comer and be because i think it feeds on that kind of Vs on that. That desire like the people have gamble that that chance get rich. "And one of the things that have permanent taper bear and how far in the cycle we are so it sounds to me like the one of the most important things to educate people is that we are. We are changing the money therefore anything that you are. Investing in this is something you should be considering holding for motiur perhaps decade or decades. I think so. Yeah i i definitely always talking about inheritance. And i think that's another kind of area that's difficult you know isn't fully solved. And i know there's like Companies that are focusing on on setting up multi sake inheritance purposes and all that but again it has to be really easy and has to be something that people don't worry about right now is really only accessible bible if you folks with significant amount of steak and like they're gonna invest in time setting off all the stuff but it needs to be a no brainer and then it's like okay. We'll i. i have bitcoin savings account. And i'm not worried is going to go to my kids when i die. It's going to be great You know it'll be multi. Sega magical happen and We need to be there for this to be really more of a cultural thing. But i do see that a lot of our customers. You know. it's one we actually have probably like. Half of our customers are coming. They're older Fifty years and up a lot of the volume is coming from those folks and they're all asking about it like i'm going to leave bitcoin to my kids I'm looking at this as a savings account and looking at this for for the long term. They're not looking to like get in and get out. This is not what somebody in that age group thinks about. They think about their legacy so It's it's really interesting to see that because it is happening and it's it's a really exciting change in how people think about. Bitcoin is not twenty seventeen retail mania. Anymore what super bullish. I mean we keep having bitcoins being taken out of the system put in long term storage for for the future I think is ultra bullish within the car market. So tell me about a little bit more about one. Apart from the fact that you guys into recruiting all the best. Concrete is in the space. What is this one two t. What does the one mission. So i mean the swan mission was and remains to be the best onramp for. Bitcoin is bringing bitcoin and specifically we use the word. Bitcoin is as opposed to just like customers or whatever we wanna make. Bitcoin just people buy bitcoin and see a number. That's going up but people who care about the coin. People who are going to explain is their friends. People who are going to run nodes. We're going to set up wallets. We're going to actually do all of that stuff. So our our mission has always been to align ourselves with the core tennis of bitcoin. Now yes we kc service. I mean there's gonna be tons of. Bitcoin is. We're gonna come down and say you know you should only ever buy bitcoin and like pure pure markets. Whatever but the reality is if you want on the next ten million..

"How does bitcoin break this. I'm trying not to have that fundamental. Believe that bitcoin absolutely definitely fixes everything. Because i think. I think i think that destroys a little bit of objectivity but i am. There's more nuance there. Yeah i think there's more. That's where i think twitter doesn't help. Because it just becomes binary arguments and appealing to the echo chamber rather than going through the nuance of okay. If bitcoin does fix certain things how does it fixes. How does this work one thing on my mind right now. As majority of bitcoin activity now is in north america. Majority of the big companies that are being built majority of the investors the majority of my listeners All the activities. In america we hype. Bitcoin is and there's a significant proportion of the bitcoin wealth held in america. How does that. How does that impact is that bad as it does not matter. It's really on my mind whether that like there's a different kind of shift in power and different shift in wealth equality. Yeah i'm. I'm not sure i mean i i i kind of think of it like there's no such thing as equality right. There's there's always luck of the draw where you born you know in the middle of a desert and oilfield like what what do you have at your disposal right and we here. In america we have at our disposal at relatively free society. We have strong property rights and we are attracting. Bitcoin activity right. We also have a lot of the world's wealth already And we have a lot of the tech innovation right so because of all those pieces that are here. We are better position to take advantage of bitcoin than most other countries. But that's not to say that we're not the leader in necessarily bitcoin usage. I mean i don't know what that number is but if you look at some of these other countries of people been surveyed and they have very high proportionality and terms of people having touched the coin or crypto or whatever the servers are saying the point is that we might have it by the numbers by like dollar volume right because we have michael sailor whose gonna go out and buy a billion dollars you probably not going to get like an all salvadorian buying a billion dollars of bitcoin. But you might have more of them. That are actually using a day to day. So you know there's some degree of proportionality were the old guard. Wealth is going to you know be able to transition into bitcoin In in larger size than say people who are who aren't wealthy to begin with but at the same time. I think it is in a certain way great equalizer because it creates the opportunity for people who are in disadvantaged societies to save money. You know they're no longer essentially like shadow tax by their money just bleeding out through inflation. So they have the first for the first time ability to save that for the first time potentially the ability to leave their country right like as i was saying and that actually puts pressure on the country itself right so when we say. Bitcoin fixes i think of it always in the margins. Flake russia experiences to the soviet union had like brain-drain right everybody who was smart and had access to capital left right..

You don't have to pay for the sandwich because it's because it's a sandwich guy am i into him right. You've always had like you've had like a good banter. Whenever he comes to the office. You know what i would do is i would say would find out his favorite sandwich. Then i would bring his favorite sandwich to work and then we switch sandwiches. And then i wouldn't have made for the sandwich and then it would kind of be like flirty. I love that cutest date. I've ever really unless he was like. Why would you bring me a sandwich. I literally the worst okay. I'd find out. Like what like what his favorite thai food or or whole all or whatever is now in him. I think that's great. I love that. I think i would probably if i wanted day. I would probably treat it like a and awkward to pay for the sandwich and see how it win. Unfortunately it's not a date all why very he's very good at his job so i do have to pay for the sandwich. It's a real bummer. And then you just made something you brought him something for no reason. He had to pay for that. That's all that you can't make some pay for gifts you're carrying was both embarrassed yourself. Head lost the fifteen dollars on the pad thai that you brought him. Oh okay. i was like the sandwiches. fifteen dollars. but it's the pad titus fifteen dollars on. That sucks for me. Bummer truly so are vital game. Are you a terrible parent. Your child is turning five and for their birthday. They want to dress up as elsa and anna from frozen with you for the entire day. K you agree but say you will have to change when at work. Because you're a high powered attorney they saab and insist you dress as elsa for the entire day or they will have a birthday you give in and show up at work dress as a disney character and this causes you to get fired. Are you a terrible. You get fired for dressing like elsa yes because you have a really important meeting and the client doesn't respect you do to this and they drop the drop the firm and then you get fired. I would walk away and i would go. The cold. never bothered me anyway hours. I would be my work. Environment was so anti new dressing as elsa for a day. "A highly sensitive nature to averaging for for me and for many people. I work with chris not everyone. Adhd and sensory stuff is absolutely a part of the back. One of the one of my top three performing posts on instagram was one about sensory sensitivities just like hundreds and hundreds of comments being like i had no idea this is me talking back and forth like you do this so yeah i think there is a range there sensory processing disorder. There's a range outside of that. So just more in the world looks at the tippety by see a lot of talk about the tags needing to be cut. How i see a lot of noise. I live in the middle of the littoral forest by myself like no noise rate helps me nervous system so much and yeah just like burgess certain textures or a lot of people really struggle with like what water feels like exists. Showering can be harder like water in the is one of your posts. One of your posts was lake me setting alarms and and then every time the alarm goes off which is like my partner so easily spooked so yes. Any noise is like well like what is what the startling i had. That i have a lot of censor- yes you have a lot of sensory issues and i have a high startle response. It's interesting and it's like it's not fun or not fun because you live in fear of it right so i go to like a play or like vegas show or something and you know there's gonna be or like a concert where you know. There's going to be like these like theatrical explosions. I live in fear of that. So i'm laying sitting there in the audience with my hands over my ears. Like crouched over linkoping now like that. Pass needle like Fear like the full minute before it even happens. You know i. Everyone else is just sorta like why we have a. It's it's a real thing and it's definitely really comment. I don't really know if they're if or what kind of neural biological basis for it. I often wonder if it like a trauma tape response not really sure for myself at least not for everyone but yeah it's definitely a real thing and i know it's hard for new bringing up your partner my ex partner now my friend. I felt so bad for him because he would be like so scared to like walk into a room because literally he can like bed. And i'm like jump off the floor man. I tell my excellent would walk in. And i would scream. Yeah know god. Sometimes you try to be like hyper aware are they. They're not they're not like you don't get scared and i find myself being so like around other when i'm going to walk some just like project thing that everyone has been startled reflecting. I'm like trying to like shop on. The floor is like make sure they can give me say okay so so we got a lot of questions about dating someone with with. Adhd so what do you. What do you recommend. I found firm me like letting go of frustration or just letting go of like expectation on you know like just not just being like this is not like something that is being done to you. So i'm thinking from my perspective as the adhd partner. I think you know it comes up with two so obvious. Insurance like really been communication and a lot of compromising You know at the end of the day like figuring out for the non. Adhd partner league west to make it or break it right like some people. Maybe it's not okay for them to live in a house at super messy or to have whatever these things are. But i think that were often times there things that can be compromised on and for example like i think about my ex partner would say like hey look i don't care if there's dishes in the same but there needs to be at least one set of clean silverware at all times and i was like okay cool like i can totally do that and so clear kind of compromising like that and having a clear directive like that. It's just like great okay. I can totally handle that. Still clear communication on like what is make it or break it style Grace if sometimes fall through. But i do think it's important like adhd the i view it more as kinda just an explanation of what's going on and not an excuse right like we're still humans russillo capable and we still are in partnership with someone in that meeting. There needs to be compromise and working on things that are hard for us. Saad are really impacting her partner. So it's kind of like this. Dan by guys know for sure. Yeah a lot is like letting go of shame to like don't make. It sounds obvious blake. Don't make fun and like don't like be like. Oh why do you have to you know and also the shame of talking about it right so like you know if there's an errand that needs to be done during the middle of the day i can do it. I can do some work in the morning. Go do it and then come back mouth cannot now needs to keep working through or else yes reeled and yet. But that's just that's just different. I mean there are things that i i needed. I do and i you know there are there. It's just like it's it's specific to to what you have or what you're diagnosed with. But it's no different than a partnership of being like what works for you. What works for you like who who needs to do what who can. Because if i insisted if i was like i know you need to go do this thing at noon then. They would never get their work. Done in like was not being supportive. It's so true. I think that also will comes up. It's like getting to two things. Come up one is lake. You said everyone has things that they're good and not so great in a relationship. And i think it can also be really helpful to have your partner really recognized and acknowledged strings there are so many and being acknowledged and recognized for that can make it feel a little bit better when they're things that aren't so good. It's like okay. Here's my package. Come with a lot of great things. And a lot of arthur great things but like at least when it feels like i'm being balanced the things as well. Look what are the good things. Tell us the good things again obviously depends on version but a lot of the things that see. Adhd folks are often really in like a crisis or an emergency. There's a theory out there. Calls like adhd people being hunters and not farmers so having this super attuned kind of fast paced. like you'd go out for a hunt. Everything gets activated the attuned to everything right versus farming where it's like so slow and boring and you've got away and plan everything out so there's a theory out there that were kind of evolved more from the entertainer.

"I'm a writer baikonour bisexual. I and my roots are horrible right now. We don't need to say horrible. You could just growing in. They are quite dark. So what's with the tattoo does it have to do with relationships is about love. Why are you being so accusatory in your question about that. Oh well the. I'm not being accusatory. I because you you made it a mystery. It's not accusatory it's like you made it a mystery so i'm trying to justify solved it. I got a flower represent resilience. Okay but that's all you want to say about it. Implies like in all aspects of my life like to me. I think the low like means a lot of things but for me. It's like about my ability to thrive in all sorts of circumstances including knock great wants. Of course okay. So it's not just about love and relationships it's about work it's about everything in life. He interesting so explain to the people where it isn't what it looks like. So i already had a a late blooming flower on my right forearm. And that's the symbolize that the best is yet to come. And then i got on this exact same place but on my left arm. A lotus flower. I mean did. I do a ton of research into what lotus flowers mean before i got this to know i basically told My best friend. That i was getting a flower represent resilience and she was like. Oh a lotus flower. And i was like never heard of it. Let me look into it and it looked prettier than the one i had been planning to get right but i didn't totally understand all of the meaning associated with it and how many people have looked better. Yeah but for me. It represents resilience and it's just like kind of a reminder that i can get through stuff that's beautiful i mean. Look you're not the the first person to get a tattoo in the wake of a break-up obviously when i broke up with my ex. I chose a ghost on my forearm to represent that. I wanted to die so have different ways. I wouldn't say that bite is just at reaction to the break up i will. I did get a tattoo earlier because my ex did it really like tattoos. So i was like okay. I guess i just won't get any more no big deal and now you know. I love tattoos and so now that i'm not with him anymore. I was like now. I can totally get one without like. It wasn't like he was like you can't have any more tattoos. It was more just. Like i knew he wasn't a big fan by families. Not a big fan of like okay. I already have to the world. I don't get any more. And then i was like. Oh you know a fun thing. I wanna do is get another two. Yeah when are you dying your hair. Pink member remember that conversation of recent. You wanted not recently but you always wanted to die your hair pink. I feel like. I don't feel that way anymore. The rebellions over to me. This is not a sign of rebellion to be. This is like i just think it's beautiful and I think tattoos are beautiful. And then i it's a fun. It's a fun reminder to myself you do very good like black and white line work like that's kind of your vibe and then mine is like a a child scribbled on a napkin at a tgi. Fridays is like. That's i've got yet like. I had to like book. This appointment weeks out with this artist. I went to the same salon that i the right way to Parlor parlour got my right arm but it's different artists but he also does fine line tattoos. So yeah i like. It's very beautiful. I saw on instagram. I like that you have like a thought out. Sort of theme and color scheme. What's that like and also what is this. Show welcome to just between us. Variety show filled with heartfelt advice. A ridiculous games and brutal brutal honesty. I'm so happy okay today. We're doing our big. Adhd episode which. I did a video with your partner now about living with adhd and that was definitely like had some of the most feedback from from my posts on there. And i think it's just really helpful for people to understand like the day to day of of what that looks like. in the misconceptions. We have about it so much. Also plug my own patriotic but subscribe for months. Just wash video with now because it was so helpful. I watched the whole thing. That'd be weird if you didn't well they were. They felt very supported. Watch the whole thing. I was like it was great super fascinating. Yeah i mean. I think like people have this idea of what it's like that is just even. I did before dating mile even though my sister has. Adhd but. i didn't realize how much of it was. Not what we picture it to be. It's not like a A hyperactive child. And i think that a lot of people have been done a huge disservice by the incorrect stereotypes And so they don't get diagnosed her. They don't feel that they can self diagnosed. They don't feel like they can get the help they need. and so. That's my wanted to do this. Episode and also it was kicked off by alison wanting to episode on her patriotic. "By governor Pritzker signed that and his budget address tomorrow. I understand he plans to pitch an austere spending blueprint no increase in the state income tax rate, yet a bump in education funding, new revenue from business licenses. The hope the state will create to sell recreational marijuana also taxes on e cigarettes and vaping legalization of sports betting. Let's start with the minimum wage, Mr. Schneider. Welcome back to double d l not a single Republican not a single member of your party supported this. Why and good for them? I think I think when you hear what gbi is going to be presenting tomorrow along with the increase in the minimum wage. I think the wall we're gonna need to build a wall around the entire state of. Illinois to keep all the people in jobs from leaving that didn't work. Trace Germany minimum wage is going to be devastating to the people. They'll annoy nobody's gonna want to build a business here. People are going to be wanting to leave. You know, it's just tomorrow is gonna be no more than you know, what we've seen the status quo business as usual biotechs bend, and repeat it's going to be a resurrection of the Clinton administration's on steroids, in my opinion. Mr. Snider is are any way that the Republicans can slow down. Jay Pritzker, progressive income tax. I don't I don't think. So you know, when when gbi Pritzker was first elected he was said he was going to speak with a Republican. Leaders in the house and the Senate, and I think since he is since he's been in. He's completely disregarded. Any compromise anybody partisanship. So I I really don't see this from happening. He's got super majorities in both the house and the Senate, and I think we're we're we're traveling down a very dark road. He's also presented in his budget. He's going to likely go out and and take the down the road. I eight hundred million dollars in pension payments to defer pensions out another five seven years from two thousand forty five to two thousand fifty two to raise another eight hundred million dollars. So that he can, you know, make good on the campaign promises. He's always donors and supporters was last time we had a truly balanced budget here in Illinois wasn't that. Edgar. I I wouldn't doubt it at all. It's been a very very long time, generally, John, it's there's there's an awful lot of smoke and mirrors that go into these things. Now, the governor's gonna propose an austere budget. But he's also go to propose another budget tomorrow from what I understand that is what he would really like to do which is which is a lot more spending three and a half to five billion dollars more in spending to to make good on his campaign promises and use the legalizing the piece from legalized marijuana from sports spit betting from video gaming tax to to sort up the budget. I mean, this is gonna be sim city before you know, it. Well, I think that this brings up a good point. If you wanna be a good citizen in Illinois. You should drink lot gamble. Smoke pot. What else? Smoke cigarettes to he's going to raise the taxes on cigarettes as well. So the tax on cigarettes may be in Cook County will be four to six dollars a pack. So the so the bad guys can go out and sell them by the stick on the coroner's for, you know, a couple of dollars a piece that's people just over the state line love that they love it. Yeah. Absolutely. Everybody's everybody's lining up on the borders around, Illinois and around county just just to stay away from these taxes, but but being an environment where the population is there where they can make a living look at what's going on in Wisconsin. I mean just across the border. You've got this huge plant. You got you line manufacturing? Everybody's lining up around Brown, Illinois, and nobody wants to come in it. It's it's a real shame. Appreciate your time today. I hope to get up to your golf course. If I foot allows in the weather allows as soon as possible. Sounds great look forward to it. John take care of this attempt. Schneider GOP chairman here in Illinois. So Jesse smell at the question of the day is if in fact, this thing turns out to be a hoax feels like. If I had said. Muslim on Mexican. Or someone black? I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot much more a lot more. And that says a lot about the place that we are in our country right now. Well, maybe he was using this whole thing as some sort of performance art like a teaching moment. Let's see what Lupe has to say. Thank you for your patience. Lupe your next up on wwl's go ahead. Oh, thank you. I think it's insulting people from Chicago right away knew what? Because our problem is gang, bangers and trucks. Not who you are because the whole world it's here. So we're not trying to beat up people that are black or gay because everybody in their family has somebody. That's gay. We love the gay people. We look black people. We don't have that much hatred. And we're not we're not from the south where you're gonna feed Lynch. So I think that if he takes a brain tumor change back and shows damage that he has in his brain. Maybe that'll help him the mitigating factor. Yes. Agents probably telling Jesse it's time for rehab. I have it all worked out. There's a nice place in Arizona will send you and you can deal with your issues. Perhaps I'm waiting for the police to tell me what happened. Jay. Thank you. For your patience, sir. You're part of the wwl's Jerry pool. Your thoughts on Jesse. If it's folks. That's great. I I it's my pleasure to talk talk to you, John. Yeah. I think that this. It is a hoax. I think wouldn't if you've made it up like claimed was a race a race crime. Wouldn't that be considered federal offense? We'll have again this. This shows the dough penis in quote, unquote, hate crime legislation because it either is a crime or it's not a crime. It doesn't matter colors. It doesn't matter words. It doesn't matter. What is in somebody's head when they commit a crime. It matters what's in their hand. And what they do. So. But again, I again, if it's a hoax, probably you can charge somebody with a false police report, and it can be either a felony or misdemeanor, depending on the state's attorney and how they want to move on it, ladies and gentlemen, Mike. The city worker would like to weigh in. Go ahead, sir. Thank you. John two things. I want to say really quickly found guilty of a hoax the worst punishment. You can give an accurate gay persuasion is to make them do. The perp walk the halls that street and boy scout wearing a Boeing shirt in Chicago softball pitch destroys reputation. Second of all I want to commend the detectors are the Chicago police department because I read on a website, of course, website that the detectives tricked out the rope was to a single manufacturer. You're the only to Chicago that sell it are crafty beavers, okay? All right. Thanks, mike. Appreciate that aren't gonna take a quick break. And then come back with more on Roger stone. I heard Jennifer report in just a few minutes ago. Also, Darren Samuelsson will join us just after six twenty to talk about this unique case and contrary to what you hear free speech is free speech, and the judge he's going to go in front of this judge who's been very unkind to other Manafort types, he's Roger's gonna go in front of this judge on Thursday. And letting you know, and this is not from personal experience is just my conjecture. Federal judges hate to have social media posts with their picture in a target federal judges do not like that. So if you're planning on being in front of a federal judge, you may want to temper exactly how you represent yourself. Let's talk about a more with you coming up next year WLS evens right now out to lake cook. We're looking at a twenty two minute trip. Inbound.

"But, but he look I was there to do my job, and I spoke with the secretary's of labor transportation health and and commerce because they were there, and you know, I'm going to keep doing that. But he was look I think he can be a, you know, in person, if you put aside all of his, you know, wrong headed policies, and, you know, in the fact that I, you know, he's fighting against so many things he's he can be charming person. If void all those things about him. You know, he he seems like he's got a charming personality to people I wasn't charmed because I know too much about it. But, but you know, the look he tried to bring up immigration in the middle of a conversation about something completely. Different. He was well house immigration going in your, you know, what problems you have with immigration in your states. And thank God, one of the Republican governors kind of interrupted him and said, you know, I really would like to talk about vocational training. Thank God, you know, because I'm gonna lose it at this table if we start talking about immigration because he's so dead wrong. So, you know, so that was my experience at the White House. I I I will say I'm gonna continue to bite my lip and and go fight for the people of Illinois with you know, to get as much as we can whether it's a Republican administration or publican Senate, which is what we have to deal with. And I'm gonna work with also the I've called and spoken with every single one of our democrat or Republican representatives here in the state of Illinois because I think it's really important to have us represented. Well, about what we need for the state of Illinois. How's your family? You got two kids has your family looking forward to. To this adventure? Well, I think we successfully actually at the beginning of the campaign. I called my my friend Hillary Clinton and ask her about her experience running for president with Chelsea being thirteen years old. I think at the time or twelve my kids are, you know, young teenagers. And she said look make sure you don't shove him out in front of the cameras and make it like, you know, you're showing off your family all the time. You know, they should be there. When you have something big happening, you're announcing or your, you know, you're claiming victory on election night, or whatever behind you. But don't make them go give speeches don't shove them out in front, and but take them with you. If you can just to be with them singing spend time with them. But don't put them out in front of the cameras, and she was just one hundred percent, right. And the result is now I think they got through the you know, what what you eat once. Yeah. Pretty pretty rare. Did. But here's the great news. Just to you know, end here. But I is that we ran a robust digital campaign and my opponent did not and my kids don't watch television. And so they're online and on YouTube and everything else. And so they they mostly only saw my ads, which I think is great. So they got through just fine. They're excited about the future. Well, governor elect Jay Pritzker as an Illinois on. I wish you great great luck Illinois needs a boost. And you obviously bring great enthusiasm to that task. So thanks for thanks for this conversation and a best of luck as you move forward. Thank you, David. And you know, we're all going to need your help to to make to get through all this. "He was elected governor of Illinois November. And here's the bad news. He was elected governor of Illinois in November. And they're a boatload of problems that he's gonna face when he is inaugurated in a few days. I sat down with j b at the end of the year in Chicago to talk about his plans for Illinois. But also about his extraordinary journey as part of one of America's most prominent business families as a very successful entrepreneur specially in the tech space, but also a someone who's experienced enormous tragedy and loss and bounce back from it. Here's that conversation. Jay Pritzker, really great to see you, you you look remarkably well for a guy who's about to take on the duties of governor of Illinois with all of the challenges that that encompasses sa-, but we'll get to all of those. But happy holidays to be with you. Thank you. Happy holidays. We should twenty two months of campaign, and and winning actually energizing. Yeah. Yeah. You look remarkably good. We I should point out to our listeners this podcast is being recorded just before the holidays, and it will air just days before you take office. So I just wanna place us in in time. You know, most people know two things about you one. Is you just got elected governor of Illinois, and the other is that you're very wealthy person. And very few people know the back story of how you. Got from there to here. And I think it's one that people should know because you were born into a prosperous family. I go back. I your your sister penny was on this podcast sometime ago, and she recounted some of this history. But just remind people about the journey of the Pritzker in this country ever brother too. If you want to interview him sometimes. Yeah, I know we're trying to win every quarter. What we'd do one quarter like it show? My family arrived in this country in eighteen eighty one. And interestingly, President Trump just was attacking a an immigrant organization immigration organization called Hebrew, immigrant aid society. That's still today operating and helping people refugees that was the group wasn't that the group that infuriated that guy. Who who attack the synagogue in Pittsburgh, there helping people at the border now? Indeed. And the the the the the the fella who was who was, you know, the cause of of so many deaths squirrel hill was was railing against the Hebrew immigrant aid society that organizations have been around for more than one hundred years. And as it happens in its earliest years, my family benefited from the the the amazing work that they do and so arriving here with nothing escaping from the pogroms in Ukraine. They originally were sponsored by family in Clinton Iowa. And so they rive by train after arriving, of course, by boat in the United States arrived by train in Clinton, Iowa to this family got off the train Jews in Clinton, Iowa was as a matter of fact there were. They may have been the only Jews, and they and that may still be the only record of a Jew living in Clinton Iowa. But but they were in and then found out there were no jobs available in Clinton Iowa. And so they said, well, where's the nearest big city? So we can go find a job, and they pointed toward Chicago. And so they got back on the train and came to Cairo. Didn't know anybody didn't have a family sponsoring them in Chicago lived in the train station for the first few little while. And and your great grandfather was he was a determined guy. Right. He was he taught himself English by reading newspapers, he did any sold the Chicago Tribune on a street corner. I know that's your former employer one. When there were these such a thing as people selling newspapers on the street. That's right. And thank goodness there were back, then so so that's how my family, you know, came to Chicago. And then of course, my great-grandfather riding here at age nine or ten he. He he managed to go to a public school and know social service agency giving them a place to live and then he went to a public university. Eventually got his pharmacy degree in. Then he got a law degree and became successful at practicing law and had three sons who were lawyers my grandfather's one of those and he had three children three sons two of them came lawyers, including my father b be before we get to that. I have to ask you about your your grandfather..
