"It just keeps getting either. Good deal was another john. I love how we get. Allow the granular and we Shoot off the cuff sometimes Or oftentimes i should say because a lot of a lot of these aspects you know they deserve a little bit more you know granularity as far as the inner workings. I mean it. You talk about being lockstep will take it if it's a free market you know even if this wasn't free market because it's outside intervention from on high It resets a balance that needed to take place. So we're also pragmatists in the sense that however we had to get there however we get there you know we'd love it to happen naturally and organically at this point. That's almost a pie in the sky. Simply because you know there's been so much intervention from both sides that we we just wanna see some sort of balance coming And honestly a hunter we have a spike coming in my opinion from the aforementioned things that i talked about demand coming back online a restricted a potential restricted production drilling new subsequent drilling but also from shut-ins of the lag of it coming back online a production that was cut in the past year That short across the complex that inadvertent Setting a price ceiling that eventually causes it to be a floor in spite But also interest rates which is the four hundred thousand pound gorilla that nobody's talking about it and if we get sixty seventy bucks at this interest rate these interest rates levels were the curve. It starting into the talking. The interest rate curve now whereas it went flat and then it inverted if it just starts to rising tide lifts all boats where You know a new of bottom set with all these people locking up thirty year. Interest rates thirty year fixed mortgages for two percent in gme but and and they're going to be the lucky ones because i really think the last the last bus is pulling away on kaz in in the next five years. I don't see that even being visible in the rear view You know third are. Yeah but we could be lucky. We would be lucky to get five six seven percent like it was in the mid mid nuts two thousand and And and who knows it could be a replay of the savings and loan boondoggle back in the eighties when volker had to step in because of inflation and increasing that is that is one part of this. That is the fact that you've gotten used to printing may or may and we were and we and we had the luxury of not only being the global reserve currency guys but we were also the best game in town so even if the federal government and the federal reserve prince prince prince but people nali At home here in the us but abroad house their their their net liquidity in dollars or dollar denominated assets. There's always going to be a home for that. If you have crypto currencies now being an avenue with which to get off the grid or divest gold and metal spiking crude oil just across the board. We could have to hell with two hundred dollar crude because of supply and demand it could happen just on a pure inflationary spike. That's been a long time coming. And and the folks that have been him and in han about it for ten twenty thirty years and being deemed chicken little now. They're going to be vindicated. But but at this point. Big fucking deal. It's too late right. you know. In order to be on the number one eight years you have a good and he worked on is good very. Yeah and that's that's true Until that paradigm no longer matters because of centralization but yeah because how do you how do you drop a tomahawk on an entire network In sao great point very point one one tomahawk will only hit one node in a network we are shifting from hierarchical or the festival era. I've our store actually. Now that's getting. Yeah a note we can listen to or muscling their way. You yeah and almost scandalous way But have you complete. The food. industry has been subsidize all the act more progress than just muscle that way and then it set the tone for these asinine our offense standards to wear back in twenty other lou number the fraud. Yeah absolutely Yeah i'm actually binders out of business. It Having to ask what birds wind and we start to spray into earth. Coming back into your y'all renewable fuels anything. Absolute calf skin hypoc mechanism governments. Set up. you baffled line. Yeah i mean just burning food to fuel a car with just never. It was almost like it's only because you'd subsidized produce or or thinking ever by. Yeah and that's where we'll get into the blend wall and artha standards that were set no five when everybody was driving tahoe and fell in up for for seventy dollars. A tanked five times a month or six times a month or whatever. So we'll we'll go into all that next episode. I'm definitely looking forward to that. But all right great. So thank you for your. What's all pleasure but same here. All right guys..

"Home where we are. We are corona virus friendly. We we we. We were in your home before they're even wasn't by so it works out perfectly well and we find ourselves plenty to talk about on the on the cove nineteen front and sports trying to get back to business with major league baseball making some actual concrete plans for June or July recurrence and telling their players about that the NBA has a big call. The NFL is opened facilities. But before we get to any of that a legend in Football Coaching Don Shula Passed away a few days back. And he was a remarkable guy. The length of time that he spent the sport Certainly warrants his hall of fame status But what's been very interesting in the last twenty four hours or so is The relationship between him and Bill Belichick was frosty. Shall we say frosty And you could see that in the comments that Bill Belichick made Bob. I Dunno using your backyard. Yeah about that. It did not escape anyone's attention that Bill Belichick's tribute to Don Shula Awas on the surface completely Appropriate from one an icon to another Was carefully worded. And it's in so far as he the two key aspects of his tribute ahead to do what he called him one of the all. I'm quoting one of the. All Time. Coaching figures in an NFL history and he was any lauded him for his. He said he was quote the standard for consistency and leadership unquote. And you could be that you could do that. Nba Five hundred coach. By the way. If you think about it right That's as far as he would call And of course he isn't pursuit. Don Shula drop. Is that two things Even though Bill Belichick is Was a close friend of shoeless. As Quiz Fa father St was a close friend of many people in football in grew up understanding that. But the background is that Don Shula as he got older got a little bolder and little looser of the tongue and five years ago did refer to Bill Belichick as Bill Bella cheat and and then he then made in a separate interview a couple of years ago. Somehow I don't know what this wasn't a reference to guys. Can you help me out? We never deflated. Footballs quote unquote. And so that would. That's our background very subtle. And you read the Mitch and Bobby read the statement. The second sentence I was fortunate to grow up in Maryland as a fan of the Baltimore coach. He's trying to personalize it then. The next sentence my first connection to coach. Shila no talk talk about what he did as a coach. It was almost like well enough about me. What do you think about me okay? And he drew it back to himself and Shula was such a remarkable figure and he lasted as long and he was one of those guys who showed you and Belichick's career in the Super Bowl showed you how fragile these Games could be and how they could turn on on one moment and the game was never the same but when you were the one thing you do remember about was. He was the losing coach. One of the most famous games ever played in the history of the sport the name of the game I mean he he was on the other side of that and then of course you know he goes to Miami and God bless them. They would pop that champagne even as they started to lose one after another. They'd pop that champagne every time somebody looked like they were going to have an undefeated season and Ryan. You know one day. He had to wait until the first Sunday in February to pop that champagne so that the dolphins remain the last undefeated meeting Mike. He he Disassociated himself from an leader. You know he's you wouldn't have the champagne the implication that yeah that Do you have is that. He did not You know that he he he did that was the boys and not him although I will never know the real truth of course whether he ever participated in it or not. I kind of liked it though. Didn't I thought it was kind of cool? Actually I always liked at the I I do I. I was wonderful. But you know whether he was on participant or not but no it was even more meaningful but now he was proud now he also was quoted as saying that. He didn't mind if the Patriots had gone undefeated. He said you can talk one. I can talk park mortar when car in my driveway is with the wind. Put it so. The only one coach in history I believe is coached more games than him and that was George Halas and thirty. Three Years of coaching he was and I covered him for a few years. When I when I first starting out as a sports writer my first job Real newspaper job was in Fort. Lauderdale and I was there in the early eighty three to eighty five and of course. Shula was was he was just a you know he was jut. Jaw Legend. You know and I would. I would come to recognize him a couple years later. When I came to Michigan in in Bochum Boeckler. You know there were there. Were there were just cut of that clot that their favorite movies. Patton you know and they they had a certain way of just dealing with an I think. Shula saw a comment like that. What he was. He was so myopic back when he was busy. Coaching that there wasn't time for any of that stuff You Know He. He just He I don't know if he slept at the office. I think that that came in a little after him but but he pretty much lived there and he was consumed by football and he and he didn't know a whole lot about the outside world. Outside of football there was a a funny story that Andy Cohen who could covered for for two thousand years. The the Miami Dolphins told me about a flight that he was on. I think it was to London or something and he landed in London and he saw this crowd of people at the airport. You know how they used to wait for planes. You know like fans and he's Oh God I'm not no. It was this popular in London and he kind of got prepared shaved really quickly on the plane. You know get out on. And he came out and of course. It wasn't for him when he came back home. Somebody asked him you know what was he said the some prince or something or another and it was prince. Prince Prince was on the plane No idea who he was no clue who you would none. I mean he would just just lived in in a football bubble and was really successful at it for for for so many years and you know what's interesting his his record as super bowl record again you we we touch on this all the time how. I had a long talk with Joe. Torry about not just the ones the Yankees one when he was the manager but the ones that they lost because they turned on a series of moments. And that's sports. That's a beauty sports. You never know when the game is going to change but you'd better be paying attention because it can happen fast. Shula coached in six super bowls and the only one those two with the dolphins and and he was the guy coach in the dolphins and he and Marino went to one super bowl together and they never one together and it. So it's it's an immense record but by the time they got to the Big Game. It's a he won. Twenty lost twice. As many as he won he will remain a a revered figure in. Miami because I newly never thought about it until I read you know from people who Quite frankly Dan Le Batard really good piece about. It has as growing up as at Miami kid and how they had nothing in Miami. They had nothing to think about it before the Dolphins. What did they have? They hadn't had minor league baseball on and off over the years they had no NFL NBA basketball. The even the even the hurricanes had yet to hit their stride. And when you were growing up in the seventies and he brought you know meaning in sports life. He knows dolphins they were so that. Always have a special Bob I the only game in town. They have other sports now. And even though the heat won championships. There's the dolphins everybody everybody it's like the rights it's like it's like the redskins in Washington you know. They have other sports there too. But there's there's the redskins everybody else and when I was covering him there really were only the dolphins and and that's why he got cemented. I think Mike as you correctly point out even more than the record which suggests he was very successful early in his career in the back into his career was just you know goodness not greatness. They did all they. Couldn't you know the people wondered why Marino didn't didn't win more super bowls given his time. He amassed an incredible amount of yards under under Don Shula and and and who who who became a passing coach of a passing team after a lot of years where they were running. I that Super Bowl where Marino and Montana went at it and it was it was it was a really good game and they just went back and forth and and the ultimate loss to San Francisco. No shame there. A lot of teams lots of San Francisco and Joe Montana. But I I think it kind of because it happened so early in Marino's career and it was his second season and it kind of shadowed him and We've talked many times on this program about you know how losing the Super Bowl has has as much effects on teams as winning one does and sometimes you get close and you just don't get back there again. What's interesting to remember about the early success of his team is that the seventy two dolphins were perfect and won the super bowl and then the next year that came back and won the super bowl over Minnesota and they were on their way to to possibly doing it again. I don't know if you remember. There was that game against Oakland. And they they were. I think they were winning. And then Kenny. Stabler threw that ridiculous pass as he was getting tackled and they ended up losing that or they have won three super bowls in row. And I don't know if you remember this too but this happened right around the time when I got down to Florida He was wooed away from the dolphins by a gentleman named Donald Trump who at the time had a USFL team you remember that in New Jersey and trump him this big offer millions of dollars and he was making. It was making less than a million dollars with the dolphins and They he offered him this big thing and then I think the negotiations got public somehow and trump and Shula wanted an apartment in trump tower. Now you think about it but it's crazy a wanted an apartment in trump tower as part of the deal and somehow trump let that out you know like a got out and he couldn't he couldn't he couldn't stop talking about it and Shula backed off because and I think he felt like he was thrown to the wolves by Donald Trump to the new sensation.

"Yeah it's never happened since the team. Yeah I mean he he would point to. That's the that's the moment where Christianity is. A religion was not seen. As of religion of the underclass religion of the persecuted religion of the suffering of religion of the martyrs. It became religion of the Empire And so one of the more interesting things about this is not only the way. Constantine saw himself as the savior of Christianity as the as kind of the person who is going to bring the Roman Empire into Christian faith but the way the church leaders saw constant. And that's one of the things we make your. Cbs The church historian theologian is looking at Constantine as the savior of the church As the one who's going to stop this persecution and so now what are you looking at this? This leader this political leader. Is You know leader of an empire as your savior rather than the person who died for you. And that's a it's it's different imagination to imagine the world where you're savior is the king or the emperor versus. Your Savior is the servant of all so that imagination shifts with the epic Milanez shifts with not just Constantine's assertion of himself as the Savior of Christianity. But the church leaders who endorse that who who affirm that and write about him as the Savior of Christianity now. We have a very progressive audience. So right now. Everyone's mind is blowing up and being distracted because there's something almost exactly parallel to that. Oh yeah that's been happening for the last three years in the United States. Oh Yeah then. It was almost too easy low hanging fruit that we've seen this before and we send in other sections other other portions of history as well but the perilous so strong. Because you have again you serious Christian leader Historian Theologian who affirms what. Constantine is doing Who AFFIRMS A political Empire leader Emperor in order to get his agenda which is to stop the prosecution now. That's not a bad agenda. It's just that you got into bed with empire in order to accomplish that I would offer that. I think today many conservative Christians especially the white evangelical who who are his most unpaid moving base that their claims of being persecuted today are not what the first couple of century Chris. LemMe like. You don't let me say merry Christmas right. You don't let me be homophobic. Yeah you make me. Baker Cake Bake Right. But but I mean that definitely. Is that this mentality and I think trump right. I don't know if it was his handlers. Even has a handler. But a astutely said you know I can be that person for you and just like Emperor. Constantine committed all kinds of atrocities that those Christians were willing to overlook because now he's our I feel like the same kind of thing is going on today. One of these reporting to his. Constantine is problematic obviously because he kind of implements and the church and state the melting of that the elevation of empire and the elevation Crescenzi through empire. That's problematic. I think it's even more problematic with you. Then it's with the church historian church theologians and with the church leaders in which is to affirm and I wrote about this my other book about The similarity that you saw and I don't WanNa be careful here. Because you never wanna make the comparison Nazi Germany loosely. But the way that the church sanctioned the actions of Nazi Germany and it was very similar rhetoric. We need the power back. We need a lot of it was gendered language of A. We need the strong German Christian mail to be authority again. We're tired of the feminization of our nation and so the church getting behind the strong German mail and so we we know that the Aside from some key folks I bought hoffer and some others in the Free Church Movement They were very much on board. With what Hitler ended up doing In Nazi Germany. So just just to Kinda capsulize this or get ready to talk about what goes on like ten. Ten eleven centuries later the doctrine of discovery. There's this major paradigm shift that was intentionally done and you can argue for the right of the nation's by these Christian leaders to stop the persecute their persecution on them They basically throughout Christ and kind of entered into Christendom. Which which is this whole idea of the Holy Roman Empire that that somehow the government and the governor is long as they're kind of part of our faith. Yeah then this. This is like the best of all marriages. Yeah so again. It goes back to a contradiction of what Jesus taught and what ended up. The church ended up adhering to Jesus Taught Submission Servant Hood Jesus taught self sacrifice laying down life. persecution And I don't know the the Church get tired of it or just decided it was too much It shifted with. Constantine you yeah. Why don't we have power? Why can't we be the ones that established the language of Christian and comes in? I missed the combination of Christianity and kingdom so as as a dumb idea of power dominion that Christians can have and you know the the biggest more salient example of. That would be what happened with. Constantine and we see iterations of that the continue to follow along in Christian becomes the normative way of looking at the relationship construction state. So how do we get to visit the Fifteenth Century Finch? The doctrine of discovery. Yeah well I mean you had about a thousand years of history where the Church and state were very much in bed together You had a thousand years of history where you know. The kingmakers were the pope's Where the church was kind of alongside the growth of the empire. Whatever Empire that might have been the Roman Empire Spanish Empire The Portuguese Empire. So you you've had hundreds of years almost a thousand years of that history coming coming to pass What happens though in the fifteenth century is is is much more of an explicit put on paper. This is what the church is going to do to support empire and so this is where the doctrine of discovery comes in the doctor. Discovery was actually a series of people's not just one but several people bowls and were two sets of them. One was addressed to Portugal the first set and it was written to Prince King Affonso and it also specifically addresses. His uncle's name was Prince Prince. Prince Henry We known through the history of Prince Henry the navigator He was actually the progenitor and the one earlier slave traders and so this Portuguese King Alphonso and his uncle Prince Henry get this people directed towards them and it essentially says Because you are Christian emperors because you are Christian leaders and a spirit of God is within you and your made in the image of God when you encounter non-christians in the language specifically so Saracens which is another name for Muslim And also As as I mentioned Henry the navigator was exploring the African coast. So when you see these individuals that are different from you. They're not quite the image of God that you are and so you have a an implicit and explicit superiority over these bodies these non European bodies and so what it does is. It gives the theological permission for Portugal to begin to translate slave trade. And that's where we begin to see the The embodiment of this big really messed up theology and so now we have the church not only advocating for the power of the Kingdom of Fogel. They're giving them theological permission. They're giving them a a a theological backdrop and doctrine that allows them to go and to take Africans slaves as basically God blessing. It's God's blessing because it's coming from the trash coming from the pope himself. Yeah and it is. It is specifically given to the European powers and not an end of course disenfranchises in disembodied and devalued the African body. Now the second part of the doctrine discovery is actually went into Spain and so does the different pope but it's all part of the doctrine of discovery and is written to Isabella and Ferdinand And specifically addresses an explorer by the name of Christopher Columbus. Oh so timely. The that Dick was that He will was addressed in fourteen ninety three. So it's one year after Columbus sales the ocean blue so it's essentially the same thing similar language. It gives permission for the Kingdom of Spain and their subjects such as Christopher Columbus to view themselves as truly made it you made in the image of God and anytime they encounter a non-european body Such as the Portuguese in Africa and now the Spanish in the Americas You can view them as less than you can view them as less than human less than made in the image of God so again. This is where the permission is given to the Kingdom of Spain and especially to to Christopher Columbus to view the rest of the world Through the eyes of dominance the eyes of we have a blessing from God. This nation the empire of Spain has the blessing from God to go out and conquer. And that's why as is my co author. This is his job on this. He says. How can you discover lands? That are already inhabited this land. You claim you claim ownership over it. So what my co author? We usually say if you believe that. Then leave your ipads in your iphones lying around and I'll come and discover them so that's the same kind of logic where I can discover something that belongs to somebody else. That's exactly the theological justification These people who are in the Americas the six million lives and thousands and thousands of civilizations. They're not quite made in the image of God and so you have the right to see them as less than and therefore it's a it's Tabula Rasa. It's a blank slate. Did you come and just take over the whole Ho space and I think the mentality? If I'm correct I is like the we're doing you all a great favorite. Yes yes so that's like. Oh you know. Okay you've been on this land for. I don't know how long but look who you are you living in. It's like we're we're the agents of God and so we're going to bring civilization and -actly that's the whole papal bull idea. The pope himself Jesus and in fact even now some people justify slave. Would you say oh? But you know these Africans didn't have Christianity and so the cato slave. We had to be imposed in order to bring Christianity African. Well that's all garbage of course but a lot of that traces back to this idea that it was the European Empire. It was the European explorers that really possessed the image of the goodness that comes from being made in the image of God and their job was to spread that whatever means necessary and part of that meant subjugation and enslavement of African bodies and the genocide of native bodies. Yes on I'm trying to imagine if I'm one of those indigenous people and these Pale skin people on a ship drop on my thing. And then they enroll this parchment and they start declaring in Latin or spent it certainly language. I don't understand right but I think the way it went like the pope says basically what you've read this declaration route for me. Like everything is like. Then they have to submit to all.

"That's my favorite favorite countless nowhere to be seen in this adaptation Luke Turner. I'm looking here and wondering if YOU'RE A DRACULA SWAT yeah. I mean as far as I read the book and then grew grew up with count dot killer hammer horror films and furtively trying to watch vampire lesbos the sexploitation. Yes yes So I I like this because I think Dracula of stuff has to be silly and camp and full of sex and really was. I'm actually watched the first episode because they might go into not good with our thing. We found we found it though he was. It's funny and ridiculous and quite over the top it was also still quite quite grim. Inaudible and spooky so we only watch what. I'm going to watch the rest of the time so we definitely have to watch it was. It was good I liked the the kind of the bisexuality the exploitative gratuitous nudity was really amazing refreshing. It's not having sex though. This is the thing. He's drinking the blood of isn't it seen as being like when she's asking the first episodes maybe six nitrogen Did you have sexual intercourse And he he won't answer and I thought the whole thing is basically the he's drinking the blood but there is also a very strong sexual everything as well that is basically the whole track arisen. Sex Death it's all part of the same thing because he's thinking he's he's got flash by thinking having having sex with his girlfriend but then IT Strategy Dracula there so I think the I think there's a strong implication that the Harker Harker is now offering They'd Bang Bang Bang. Bang Bang Bang S.. Or did you think care I loved it really looked. I watched three and couldn't get enough of it. What do you make of Klaus Bang? He was built weight because hockey came in. The Hawk was very sensitive proper accountant. You know. There's a transition of blood. SOME TRANSACTIONS WE SAY AND DRACULA TAKES ON ELEMENTS OF HIS PEOPLE. He drinks the blood but they did. He drink the blood of thirty then. Expected to walk into. The Queen applauded the lawyers. which I thought was wonderful? Touch still are you. What do you know the book done? The legend seeing this and that but I I wasn't I wasn't yes so there are few elements obviously different in this retailing. Main thing being. It's not a spoiler van. Helsing is not a new. Ah Stay Yeah exactly. It's sister Agatha van Helsing who may be the greatest current yes yes she also has has all the best lines so famous US author like many women of my age. I'm trapped in loveless parents. Keep a refund refund my head as a non Jews just comes no way just blindly and the ending of the first episode which I've been dying to me income however he always captain coney pulled those you look a little when she liked to go out for a drink police which I did love. I don't drink wine. ellipses dot Y.. Andrew what we all thoughts about the amazing Van Helsing and Dracula is loved it. I thought it was. Larry is thought it was both terrifying and campaign ridiculous. Most people have to spoiling a League of a mind wipe hair. Most people thought the third episode was terrible. Yes I liked it. It was my favorite the episode Kobe's League. We had transported to Whitby was how he was going to go to Whitby. Sas only opponent what be transported to the present day. In whitby and We meet some recurring faces if not necessarily the same people And Dracula is attempting to embark upon his mission to vampire is everybody. L. Whatever Vampires get upset but it kind of impacts on the modern world and we see the Lucy Weston Ross story. Because if you've listened to familiar with the Bram stoker book Many of the characters are reinvented. One of them's Lucy. Wrote Western Rod. Who is a in the Victorian? Originally original Gothic trump's stoker there's a kind of archetypal virginal brides. You know stainless beautiful woman who falls victim structures terrible predations in this. She's at the disco taking sell fees and it made me think that you can't really do. The original gothic take with extremely prescribed ideas of what women women are more. Women should get up to the kind of under the subtext of the of the vampire stories. You're punished for your licentious nece by the ultimate liberty which is drug dealer himself But we in whom sex and death together. We can't really do that because we're libertine won't we will live the kind of lifestyle of instant pleasure and enjoyment. You know we're often all its People around drinking another not drinking football by DODD was a butcher Nov by the standards of the time which was written. We are all now absolutely teens at the beginning of the third episode. So this is a palace. Doesn't he's in that home. Yeah and it's a modest little home. She's not one yes. I felt the third one rarely stumbled after the the setup of the end of the end of the second episode and the Spoil It for Luke C wearing the day that beginning heart half was USC fantastic but as soon as we got to Lucy I just just. She's from. It's not a brilliant performance. But I think it's just a great thing to do. So essentially the episode one is castle. Episode is episode threes Whitby Modern World. You know and I actually liked the way that we hoped not just setting but from genres genre. So Intestine episode bestowed episode one. CASTLED AS TOTAL GOTH DRACULA HATES Campbell's. It's paintings of people who somehow mysteriously still alive. Excellent Years Passageways. spiders all your favorite episode tail on the boat is carry on screaming it with inside. Join the inside nine is so. It's I mean it's so it's beyond blatant. It is like they built the entire episode around a number inside Moment Andrea but for over the highly highly entertaining and then episode. Three is a kind of contemporary. Tom Slade doctors which gates offered have a lot. Obviously I find on the whenever they do one of those of teen club scenes. I just frene is just an idea what club the club is a definitely an L. person's idea. But then you and I care because we're immensely cool places. China Weiss with Prince Prince Prince Arizona also Russia's probably been show. Maybe I really liked and I liked the Geeks so we know that market is not stuff. He's in Horan nerd. This is this is his oldpark is next but also it's got elements of Bergman in it and it's also got a faith and an atheist none. That's atropine Bergman Anyway. So it's got all all the stuff that then you can go talk Powell and pressburger a lot of thought with the nuns in the convent to find someone sexual kind of all my God. What do we do? You meant to be married to Jesus and those elements in class. The jokes I mean just to have the first two. What's the first thing I don't think just SORTA takes off in up up to the space? I suppose but I thought it was amazing. It's not all I don't always watch. Those Christmas blockbusters was was good. I'd like to pay talk so I don't know how that doesn't end the white that's ABC. The surprising thing about prop structure is by contemporary standards. It's very slow moving and actually quite boring not allow happens. There's an awful lot of things that do require in this mess around with lawyers and property things as a contemporary temporary reading. You're going to pick up the pace because he's not written for you. It's written for Victorian an prematurely. And another thing I really liked about this show. Is that netflixing that flex just slamming all these mousetraps down on us and Apple Doing Aniston. We're having these big names as a vehicle to get the stuff sold it doesn't have a quote unquote a big name in this and that's really refreshing to see an a do think. The class buying was incredible. I think he just. He drew that line between being really evil and really sexy. It's it's not always that easy. Yeah Moscow Walter Larry Grayson one back against. It's good. This is this is eh seeing him Dolly Wells. She is she the daughter the granddaughter. John Wells she is the daughter of fantastic beautiful thing about sister. Agatha and At Dracula is that in this reading. They the only people everybody else is taking it seriously. And they say is ironic rump that trading acting balm in the third of sites because here boy succo ways of because Dracula as well as big. A massive narcissist is also tower in egotist and she cuts him down repeatedly. You know it's it's it's bad and again where we are just bold kinda thing. Yeah you you know. I thought it was great. I really I was slightly annoyed. The people moaned about is how this is going to be. That was that something about when when he turns up the none nunnery. And you sort of you see that kind of absolute cocky sexiness. But he's at his toll desire for blood way just reduces him fantastic animal the good thing about talking about compulsion an addiction. He just this one thing he wants is the blood sat an assignment Harker. You know sort of changes or whatever I thought that was that was really clever the way. An annotated acting just be able to go from Smith's the swamp two desperate little creature. Actually that's Paul of what the series is trying to do with drug dealer as to Dismantle Dracula because the idea that this ultimate suave kind of You know European aristocrats is actually just an animal and it sends is in very reynolds and different versions of of jocular but two in particular in the third episode to locate it in the modern day whether it's tricky to live disgusting rich person's horrible upon the kind of thing that you taste yeah tasteless money. NASTY WANNA say the music's really good as well and there's a lot of articles online about how they were making the music and we're getting polio. Dot Org getting butchers to give them lots of blood and they were doing the thing of wiping uh-huh finger around the rim of glasses to make drones and stuff like that so loud music concrete but in a draft so yeah he was doing doing in the castle baby screaming apparently in the soundtrack lovely. Somehow that was the one thing in the first episode I didn't think worked the child It was sort of reanimated yet. It was it was a little chucky as it's GonNa get anyway light that's enough neck cheering and scenery-chewing let some strictly CAV will of Hebrews influence I've bought in time. Three or three is such in good. Unlock Bob offshoots an acid house. Seven inch yes. Forty Five Live the label. I was talking about earlier Just released finish producer park the new acid contemporary contemporary acid. Saying it's been around about ten years actually building building and this is very much throwback in sound. The ice is very much eighty-eight not ice of acid scar thing be side and look Acid off is just a great funky about tastic acid for the twenty twenties waiting sitting around long enough. Let's have it. Yeah the it.

"It's like mosh wrath version one point two. Yeah. Everyone was a good mood joking around before they die. Yeah. I was nervous time thinking like something was going to happen. I thought it was agree episode. The one thing that I was hoping like brands said what the night kings intentions were. And like his whole thing is flashbacks. I was hoping they were going to show like what are making -tarian Southam. And was like what's your deal? I thought they were gonna go back in time. Like, it was a sixty minute episode. I thought they could like cut down some of the jokes and like. At least done. I like just saying that this is what the making wants. I thought they could at least like shown it and done a little bit of a better job like showing why the fuck this dude is coming to win a million dead. That's a classic writers trick where they make. You get extra attached to everyone right before they die. Also, this guy was really fun. Would it showed me is like a city under siege where everything's unlocked down that becomes a giant locker room? So like all fair like yours at one the the beefy red hair garment torment who just was trying to get laid and drink titty milk. All the time Jim Harbaugh. Yeah. He was just China's mill sucking that giants breast milk out of the horror story and just trying to have sex with anybody. Yeah. The whole city is locker room talk. Yeah. I I enjoy that a lot. I notice that you guys got kinda grossed out when that girl had sex. Okay. So aria aria having sex was I was not looking forward to that. She is she like basically his grown up on the show. Started on the show is like a ten year old. Okay. That's tough. So it's like she still is seen as like a little girl. Even though I think the real actresses twenty two. But like it was weird. I didn't need it. Now, that's tough for us. But if you started watching when you were ten years old at the same time as her like you, and she grow- growing up then that was probably the coolest thing ever. It's like when I was fifteen I really liked to leash SilverStone. Right. Who's also fifteen and we grew up together. And she definitely felt that connection rush. Like, I felt it with her. I also the callback. How in the first episode netting? King Robert, let's join houses thinking he was going to be Santa in fucking Joffrey. Yup. Then finally came around full circle RN gender just gift probably means that jenner's can by our is gonna get pregnant go. Yeah. All right. So now, I really can't deal with I think she is going to be given deal. I think wait what if she's presenting this show, basically if you have sex like that, you're pregnant pregnant in real life, and they had to write it into the show. She's not as like an eighteen year old. That'd be that'd be. Mike question. I noticed this today. So like last week I had a bunch of questions about like the fires burning up everywhere. This is just like their general hygiene, it looks like the smelly place. Oh, yeah. Everyone's breath stinks. Do they not do that shower that that shower the rich people bathe the poor people just live in shit? They just deal with everyone smells like shit. So nobody does no one does. So it actually probably doesn't smell bad because that's all you know. Is that everyone smells like pig shit. Okay. They also didn't show the Nike and the next time on which might mean that you know, he's pulling the heavy. Hey, he's has. Hey, Jamie is a woke liberal he knighted Serb Rianne. He's a flexible totally night big time white Knight that like, can you believe it? Let's night female might in my life. I'm joy could never happen. Joining the legendary warriors such as who Sean Connery Jagger else has been knighted pink. Kingsley. Yup. Prince prince prince was knighted confusing assuming the extremely confusing the nightmares. That was actually an awesome moment though. Because Serbian the smile on her face. I think that like fights actually put out I think that was actually the first time someone smiled on the tire show would have chair writer got knighted. He became nightrider. That'd be fucking. It'd be real. Can I do that as a minister can night somebody?.

It wouldn't be imagine trying to pull off now David Bowie. Call him David Bowie. Weird. Yeah. I guess so David Bowie again now like a yo if you just came out of nowhere. Maybe to weird or what do you think? I think is music would be too good. That's fair. I can't imagine music that good anymore. Is there is there like a new age David Bowie or anything that comes close to him? Now, you won't hear it. What about our next one and final one prince prince prince, he's an earthy should be every video game prince should be a character in every video game in some way, shape or form. Yeah, he should be a summons in every final fantasy game. He should be villain in every platformer. Keep going. Just go up. I read about this with Lassen, purple rain underneath. Yeah. We gotta ask one more Kellyanne Conway. Gross earthling. And earthling. The earthlings already covered the fact that the devils in this game. So yeah, I'm gonna say she's earthling. This has been earthier actually human being turns out all all have banks out. So it's like if you are in that intense. You're a human if you're to Messier human if you're weird, and you don't fit anywhere. But there's like nothing to you. Right. Like, I'm trying to think of a shitty. Okay. So Freddie, Mercury from bohemian rhapsody would be an earthling. But Freddie, Mercury is a human, right? Yes. Right. Yeah. Like, those two D caricatures of people are earthlings. Yes. People with serious trauma are humans. Yes. Yeah. Because I don't know what con- yays thing and the game would be no, he's just hangs definitely wouldn't have a thing. And the game Kellyanne Conway would be spouting lies. I'd like walking around about it will actually what he said. And why isn't anyone asking? And then I see Mariah Carey is being an earthling game to just like wearing sparkly. Dress like seeing with tear walking Beck and eight exactly sickly being beyond say. But nobody wants us wants to say it, but like lazy beyond. Yeah. I saw her in concert and was so lazy like she just like sort of walked around. And then somebody brought out a chair for her to sit on. Yeah. That happened. It was part of it. It was like she had thrown. But it was just so she could sit while she did the performance and she would forget and she's like, hey, come over here. What are you doing? Okay. Now. I'm gonna sing this one. It was just it was super lazy. It's so funny voices. Still a mated. No. She's like amazed. What she does. And she's dancing. It's so funny. It's not funny..

"Friday, October fifth, twenty eighteen. I'm Mike sergeant. And right now we are going to talk about remembering Steve Jobs that horrifying report from Bloomberg. That's just got everyone frightened. And how ridiculous that is. Tim cook talking about apple privacy, apples, hopeful, hot Dover, vent, and so much more because this is the I more show. Back again this week is the steadfast and ever true the one and only Laurie Gill. How are you doing today? Laura Gill. The show is going to be so boring and lame. Not here. There's no judge look Georgia. Okay. Let me just go ahead and I'll just put it out there. I'm sorry, listeners Georgia and I got into a fight and couldn't on the show this week. See, apple is going to be releasing some new. Well, the emoji have already been put into place, but apple has the artwork and everything ready for the next iteration of and there's a foot emoji and I absolutely hate feet and Georgia loves to tease me about them. So I said Georgia, I just really don't think that you and I can ever be on the show again. And so that's why that's happening. No, that's not true of she will hopefully be back next week, but she isn't here this week, but we do have her partner in crime and the often target of her of her apple gadget thievery it is Rene Ritchie how you doing today, let the horn of helm, deep bring one last time mica. Now for feet and emojis ending. I like that. That was good. That's all I had left. Well, that is a fantastic introduction to the show this week, and let's go ahead and talk about today. October fifth is the anniversary of the passing of Steve Jobs. He passed away in twenty eleven on today's date, and I still remember where there are certain things in your life and for some people, you know, especially those of us in the US the twin towers going down as one of those. Where were you when this happened? Kind of thing for people. Superindent music. Where were you when we heard that Michael Jackson passed away and for those of us in tech, especially who focused on apple, many of us remember where we were when we heard that Steve Jobs had passed away. I was gonna say, John Lennon how much older I am Mike. I was gonna, say, prince. Prince prince's younger than all of us. Yeah. In heart young at heart. I believe that actually, yes and like a actually Rene did write a very heartfelt sentiments on almost brought me to tears. Just what he wrote. It was very, very sweet sentiments and it did kind of trigger memories from me of remembering that day finding out. I wasn't even as deep in to sort of the tech blogging world at that time. I was still kind of new to the whole industry. I had just recently gotten of my apple phone for the iphone for the first time in pad. I think that year I, it was very, very close to that time. So it did kind of trigger some memories for me. Mike. What were you doing? What do you remember that sort of moment when when you had heard the news about it? I was a freshman in college. Yes, I'm youngster. I was a freshman in college, and I remember it because I got in the notification on my iphone. On, and I went back to my room and my roommate at the time. He was such a good guy, and he knew that I was like super in detect and that I was writing about tack at the company that I worked for at the time. And so he actually like he came up to me and was like, hey, are you? Okay? And sort of asked if I was doing okay and new, the new, what had happened. And yeah, I remember just sort of being like, wow, and immediately sort of trying to understand what had happened and how that had gone down and then sort of taking a break to wait for the awesome stories that I knew were soon to come and the people who had spent time actually with this man, their stories and their thoughts on on the passing of Steve Jobs, and also just sort of wondering where the company was headed next because when Steve Jobs had passed, Tim cook was already sort of Rene, correct me if I'm wrong, but he was already sort of in line to do..

"Hi Jordan and Jesse. This is Maya from Minnesota calling in with a momentous occasion. My mom and I were just on a walk on main street. It's about ten o'clock. So it's getting dark and we were chased by three little girls on bicycles singing to us in a gravelly voice asong that my mom will now perform for you and going on trip and my favorite rocket ship. I'm going on a trip and my favorite ridership, I'm. That was a very accurate depiction. Thanks, bye. You're welcome. Those first of all, you're welcome. Burst that lake sounded like maybe it was just someone clip out a segment from the podcast, the fiction podcast, the truth. Sure. Maybe that was a left on the cutting room floor of Dave shrimp goes new show. Serious. This sound serious? Yeah. This probably just material from the cutting room floor. They were really walking. They did that when they said we were walking gave on really sold it. Yeah, I agree. I'm like this checks out the extreme triviality of the story is what makes me wonder why anyone should be said no one contemplated buying a rain stick in it. There's no. The. Conflicts pyramid. Yeah. I mean, there's the question of like, why aren't democratic politicians doing more to address gangs and Minnesota -ture specifically gangs of little girls. I'm going on that trip for my favorite rocket. All my favorite rockets hat. Okay. Here's what I heard you saying. Yeah. Democrats are such Titanic. Pussies couldn't beat up a little girl on a bike. Paul really read to deal gaming. You're gonna take away your game and we're going to Neil game your grant Morrison. Yeah, I'm gonna take it all because you're getting too worked up the sorry, Neil and is just the conduit from the ancient language to the modern ones. Obsessed with author. I'm talking about the ark typical. What is internet if not a series of tubes. Anyway, anyway. Okay. Let's take another call but we didn't even say anything about that one. Okay. Yeah, let's we covered it. It had, you know what it had that I like speaking of Jon Rao fiction that did not sound like her mom. Oh, yeah. Doing just slightly it sound like she just switched the phone from one side of her head to the other. It's me mummy. My mom MRs deaf. Read by fruiting. Hello, this is her mother. That story did have a Stephen King vibe to it, didn't it? Absolutely. That been something that would happen in a Stephen King novel in nineteen eighty-two. Had it been set in Maine? Yeah, I don't know if this was in Maine. I don't think it was. It was in Minnesota. So I have to assume that this was probably from prince novel shirt rights. Yeah, prince enough sure or many who knows maybe Jesse Johnson or Wendy and Lisa. Oh, oh, prince, prince, prince, prince, Rogers, Nelson, got you of Minnesota. I mean, could have been Warren Moon sherve quarterback Warren Moon, hard to say hard to say hard to say, wait, why did you say that? Who is that? Brinda connection? No, Warren Moon Minnesotans. Got it. Yeah. A category is Minnesotans Vikings speaking of which, oh. Just kidding her back. Somebody getting, you'll game. Okay. I'm ready for the next call. Okay. Here's our next call blue. Jesse just is someone calling from Toronto with them into seclusion. I was an orgy earlier this evening. A lot of fun earlier this evening. Okay. Part was in one of the rooms musically provided by speakers. I've talked to a popular online use extreme service at one point. At the end of the saw, I was surprised to hear a voice, say this is Jesse thorn whose NPR's bulls. So yes, one of jesse's bullseye NPR promotional spots for a lot of while sex. That's so awesome. Wanted to know. So. Was the best ever ever to me. Wow. Would I sometimes think let's retire this fucking segment. All the things have happened. We could should do something else. Jordan earlier, we had a call from two women who had been chased down the street at ten o'clock at night by three little children on bicycles chanting, crazy chance. Yeah. So you think after you hear that Paul barman, you'd think you yourself, this is nothing crazy. There's nothing left. There's no stories left to be told and at the end of the day Jordan, as you know, we're just storytellers. Exactly. Not not least of us, of course, meal game it sure..
