"Here with steve osborne longtime friend of mine. Hey steve today. We are covering episode three snow to know. Indeed and steve. There's a lot of sword play and talk about sort play in this episode. Yes that is accurate. All right now this is gonna like an odd is going to seem like an odd segue but we began our freshman year at any high school in nineteen ninety eight nine. I believe eighty no we graduate. Oh i see. I see yes all right assuming that we met before our high school year. We've known each other for about thirty years probably more than thirty years. That is accurate. So i know things about you to other. People may not know and one of the things that i know about you. Is that as a young man. You studied the art of fencing. That is correct. Yes i did. Do some fencing not in the Better call saul sort of way that no not that. I'm willing to admit on this podcast and you weren't so bad defensing season. I mean it was You know it wasn't like i. I did many years of fencing. I was good when i did it and i enjoyed it. I just learned. There wasn't a lot of money in it. And so i went on to tacoma d instead. That's surprising and i running. Did you have different eyes than the rest of us. When you were watching these the sword placings because of your expertise. I'd was definitely especially the training scene at the end At that resonated. I i enjoyed that. Like all the different. Like you're dead moment So you're talking about the first lesson between the beloved cereal ferrall and arya stark. Yes that is that is accurate. I would not have been able to remember those names. So i appreciate you jumping in on absolutely absolutely and it occurs to me now the in episode three. We've met almost every character. That's important for this first season. I think that there's one major character that has yet to be introduced. But yeah i think you've seen all of the faces of the actors at least even if you don't know their name so what i'd like to. I'd like to talk a little bit about the small council. So roberts the king. He's got a small council. And ned shows up in king's landing and he he's handed the king so he's supposed to take charge of the small council but i think that for first time viewers and that would be you. It may not be as obvious. Who's on the small council and what their jobs are right okay. So here's what i'd like to do. I'd like to tell you the titles of these members of the small council. And i want you to pick one for yourself. Oh we're going to see which one best suits st 'bosman all right now. We're gonna leave off hand of the king because everyone wants to be in charge. Of course i understand that. The hand of the king wipes i don't know if that's this is something that we're all considering during the covid. Nineteen era yeah. The hand of the king definitely has a different role in shelter in place. Being the hand can't touch the king's face anymore that's for certain. Okay so master of coin. This is the guy that owns the brothels heater baylor right. Sorry good and a master of whisperers. How does that sound to you. That sounds it. Sounds like a a slightly homo erotic heavy metal band. I would be all in. I would be all in on master of whisperers sure. So this is the the bald guy with a flowing gown. This is yes and master. What master whispers as the chiefs spy. At miyoko you probably. He's just he's the town gossip. That's exactly what he is. He's the town gossip all right. So then there's the master of laws and this is bradley and he gave nettie big hug his actually robert's younger brother. Okay thing that's self. Explanatory master laws the heels. The narc these the narc. That's that's right. And then finally matt grandmaster pice cell was the old guy with the long beard. Who's carrying messages around. Something of a daughter'd at least on the surface but he but he was grand master at one point. So sort of like grandmaster flash he's grandmaster flash. I bet to get that right. Got it right off of all of these different titles. Master of coin whispers law ships or grand maistre. Which do you think would be best suited for you. That's a tough one. Because the we spent a lot of time. Talking about the master of whispers. I do like to talk a lot of mess. But i'm just require you to use your mess in a very strategic way right. Yeah i mean. And i think there's a part of me that already does that because i talk behind a lot of people's back and they and they think i'm on their side so i feel like i'm already like ready for that but man grand grand maistre grand maistre. That sounds awesome. Yeah i don't even care. Even if i am considered a daughter it's like yeah. But he's like that's on your headstone that i think i'm gonna go. I would say that. I am the master of whispers but i aspire to be the grandmaster grandmaster than i mean. That's the best of all worlds. But you know what. I think you're gonna like the show that you're going really liked all right so anything. Strike you about the episode that yeah well this episode this probably of the three is the one that's hooked me the most and you could argue that maybe in terms of like action and incest. That happens the least. So i mean you know considering what normally floats my boat but this had has some really rich dialogue and the theme of what he i guess like transition and inevitability was so was so prevalent and it was just it was. I think it was really well done. And especially with the younger characters You know this is a this is like a turning point for each one of them right. I love the juxtaposition of i know what prince joffrey like. He's got out. She boo boo but his mother's i kind of forcing him to grow up faster on the flipside ned. His daughter a doll. She's growing up. She wanted to go up now. So there's so that was an interesting juxtaposition. You've got got jon snow taking on this. He's he's the king of the bastard. So kay. I'm glad that you mentioned this. Try this on for size. All right so brand doesn't show up much in this episode. But the other these other characters i think are all in transition. And they're all sort of between either social classes or life stages so let's go through. So lord snow i think right there. You've got in the title. Snow is the name you bastards in the north. So that's a lower class name but he's got a title with suggesting that he's in between two social classes torture and santa clearly is between childhood and womanhood. I would think so thirteen but trying to prepare for being the next queen for and then i think are is sort of on this gender border..

"Course perhaps none so formidable than Sir C. Lancaster married to King Robert Breath. Ian Sursee was also the mother to the Arab the throne Prince joffrey along with her two other younger children. Tomlin and Marcella. The latter was sent to live in Dorn at the age of nine to be more or less raised by the family of the Dornoch prince trusting to whom she was promised as a future bride that surface. Three children are not her husband's the king and instead the result of this ongoing incestuous relationship with her twin brother. Your Jamie isn't exactly common knowledge to everyone else in the show we were. We learned quite early on but in a circles that are aware or suspect this cast the entire right of succession to the throne into question seriously is deception. In terms of the paternity of her children would be far from her. Last and over the course of the series she really emerges as this protagonist villainous. Par Excellence however this wasn't always necessarily the case. When we first meet searcy as Roberts Queen she had very little agency of her own and for one of her very early ensembles. Clapton designed a Pale blue green dress which was embroidered with bird motifs. She says quote. I love the idea that she sees herself as a cage bird and just to drive this point home cast this blue green shade for the dress was also used in the wall coverings of surface bedroom as she was you know little more than decoration or ornamentation for the palace itself and oh how quickly things would change is that we could. I personally think she's like one of the worst greatest villains of history so after King Robert Dies of sustained while hunting. Sirsi is now the Queen Mother meaning. She's the mother to the king and as inexperienced as teenage joffrey still is certainly holds considerable sway over him and her own. Political ambitions quickly reveal themselves not only in her actions but also in her costumes. It changes in her costumes. For instance she now. Adopts the Lancaster family read and increasingly wears the families lions schedule April. You noted earlier in the context of sunset surface gowns. Were Komo ask? And Clapton has noted this as a reference as inspiration for these designs she also looked at the silhouettes of the Middle Ages as inspiration for much of services style. Yes and that medieval inspiration is quite evident in the long trailing sleeves. That sir she is so fond of the dress she wears to Prince joffrey sweating term margery. Tyrell is a wonderful example of Clapton's Skill at layering. A lot of these aesthetic references. A Gold ground with a subtle gold fully motif the dress features. Crc's signature hanging sleeves golden embroidered lions at the shoulders and a highly unusual neckline. It's a sort of a funnel neckline that reveals the Dakota Taj and stands away from the shoulders quite stiff earlier. In the season we had seen Marjorie. Where more extreme version of the same funnel neckline and get this cast. This is one of my favorite things. Clapton has said that this funnel neckline was inspired by address by Alexander McQueen. One that he designed for Bjork for two thousand four music video who is love that I know and also not the only appearance contemporary fashion would make in this series. Denarius actually wears eight Vienna dress and one of the episodes that takes place in Slavers Bay. Clapton found it in a shop in Dubrovnik where they were filming. The style was remarkably somewhere to the ones. The costume team had designed for the female slaves and some of the shots. So she bought. It altered it a bit and it became one of Danny's costumes. I mean who knew that would end up on screen and gave. It broke which is again fun. Alexander McQueen Mellon Vienna and another fun fact cast the rivalry between the soon to be Queen Marjorie and the Queen. Mother searcy was not only political. If you pay really close attention they have a bit of a sartorial battle as well. You know. They're always trying to one up each other in terms of their outfits and Clapton says quote Margie's in crate competition for searcy which plays out in season. Three is almost like a fashion fight between them which is quite fun of how that rivalry between sir. C and Marjorie actually played out was far from humorous and a single fell swoop. Sursee rid herself of many. If not most of her political enemies by plotting a massive explosion. She.

"On the show When we meet her. She's a spoiled. Teenage Young Woman living with her family at their ancestral home in the north winter fell as a backstory for the stark women. Clapton actually imagined that to pass the dark cold evenings of the north of favorite pastime. Might be embroidery. So we see quite a lot of embroidery on their garments. And even at one point we see them. All embroidering. Together caitlyn stark's sitting embroidering with her two daughters Samsa and the youngest daughter of the Family Aria and cast when I say that some of the decisions that were made or so smart and nuanced in terms of character development that you might not necessarily notice them on screen. I'm not kidding. Clapton has said that in this scene. Saez embroidery is neat and precise while that of her younger sisters is always messy not necessarily to her younger age but rather her willful nature because it turns out as we find out later that she's far more interested in the art of sword. Play than the art embroidery. Sandra however was conceptualized to be quite an accomplished seamstress in her own right Clapton imagined her making Oliver Close. And executing her own embroideries which is lovely when we first meet. Sauna a winter fell. She wears the stark blue however the shade she wears is a bit lighter than that of her family which was intentional. It really set her apart away. This makes perfect sense. Also because once she becomes betrothed to Prince Joffrey. Her family allegiances become tested when she moves to. King's landing clothing quickly makes an abrupt shift away from those stark blues and she begins to favor the Komo asks styles and pink and green color palettes worn by her future. Mother in Law Clapton says sponsor even switches up her hairstyle at this juncture to more closely resemble servcies. Long twisting locks. These costumes are prime examples of the importance of costume as a vital storytelling tool this goes for any production of course but especially show. Like game of thrones where they are credibly important and not only distinguishing rose from each other but helping to show a character story. Arc Sanz's costumes as with all the characters were we'll discuss today relate an incredible amount of essential information to the audience. Even if you might not have consciously perceived for instance You mentioned that Sansa begins wearing pink and Mauve in particular now becomes a favourite of saunas because it somehow a blend of stark blue with the traditional Lancaster. Red and this shade is the ground colour for her elaborate gown for her nuptials which is the first garment. I'd like to talk about in detail. Because Clapton has noted that she chose a quote gold and Mauve shot brocade fabric that was embellished with metal hip pads to make the gown feel lightly. Armored but cast is really the Reuter on this piece is spectacular in its symbolism. Clapton says the man of the House Lancaster. The lion was stamped at the back of her neck suggesting that Sansa was now their property. However the embroidery on the girdle that criss crosses her chest and circles her waist includes dire wolves the digital of the starks as fish which was decision of the totally family from which her mother. Caitlyn comes from additionally we see embroidered. Dragonflies a symbol. That seems to be unique to sponsor herself her own invention which symbolizes her feelings of captivity. You will also see that. She frequently wears a dragonfly necklace as well during this period cast. Clapton designed the jewelry in addition to all of the costumes. Well on this show. How right no small feat and and we must say that. Clapton did seven of the eight. Seasons of game of thrones we should of course credit April fairies. Wonderful Designs. For Game of thrones season six and that's when ferry took over for Clapton Clapton was taking a small break to design the costumes for the Netflix series. The crown which I'm sure many of our listeners have offices Dean but because Clapton designed the preponderance of the seasons. It's really her work that we're focusing on in this episode. But I digress. So let's get back to this jewelry class. It has said that she always designed the jewelry with great intention and that jewelry pieces seen in this series. Were oftentimes some of the most deeply symbolic items at a character would rare and that rarely if ever does she create a piece of jewelry which was not in service to the story ARC or character development so basically the jewelry was just never. Gratuitous embellishment ornamentation Make sense because if you think about how. Tv's filmed you know you're seeing close ups a lot on the character's faces so you're GonNa see a lot of those jewelry pieces highlighted on the screen close up and so take for instance the necklace that Sauna adopts after she escapes the clutches of Lancaster's she wears different variations of the same style throughout the show. It's this large ring. That's three inches. In diameter. It hits her high on the chest just below the neck and threw. It is threaded this long chain which dangles while below her hips at terminates with a long pointed sewing needle at the end and as. Clapton is noted quote. This is an unbroken. Circle symbolizes strength. This is a symbolic statement indicating that is ready to fight. It's also a reference to her sister. Arya who carries a sword called needle likewise on Saunas white wedding coat for her marriage to Ramsay Bolton the front closures feature to class from which dangled two large metal fish and this was a nod to the schedule of Her. Mother's family the tolleys so the last and final ensemble of sauces. That I'd like to speak about. Cats is another Jain Norma spoiler alert so we will issue this once again. Fair warning friends Had like to talk about her coronation ensemble from the final episode. Of all of game of thrones SAMSA has now prove yourself one of the most resilient characters in the entire series you know. She's often abused as a female pond. By the men. In her life husbands are otherwise but in the end she outlasts them all in his crowned Queen of North. Yes and her on SAMBA. Really is a metaphor for her journey. Clapped states have given her a costing that featured imagery referencing the events of her life and honoring family and friends whom she had loved or it offered her guidance along the way although saunas coronation gown was blackish Grey Clapton. Actually use the exact same textile as the one she used in white for Marjorie. Tyrel wedding to King Joffrey who was formerly Saunas betrothed. Are You with me here? Despite their common fiancee Marjorie was KINDA SANSA in King's landing. When no one else was so using textile again was really a nod to the shared experience and their friendship. The styles skirt seen on sunsets. Coronation gown was once seen earlier in the series worn by her mother Caitlyn Stark. And that's not the only familial connection referenced. In the Silhouette of this ensemble the cloak she wears is metrical similar to the one that her sister. Reo where's in the final season and the embellishment on Santa's cloak is laden with meaning one shoulder and sort of pseudo sleeve of the cloak is embroidered with fish scales again a reference to her mother who was murdered during the slaughter of the red wedding earlier in this series. Rhino. Sort of my life. But you got you have to watch it. Don't not watch it. You have to watch it. Because it's a pivotal point in this story. So battled cloak descending from that same side just below the fish scales the cloak also features a motif of beaded and embroidered. Red Leaves which Clapton says. We're a quote inspired by winter fills crimson lived. We're would trees on the other shoulder of the cloak. We see a beaded embroidered. Head of a dire with an from the for trimming at the neck of the cloak this is a tribute to lady. Santa's dire with who was killed by Sir C and the first season and the dire with motif appears again in this. Assemble this time a tribute to her brother. Rob The former king of the north at the red wedding where he too was murdered. He wore a class with the motif with the heads of two of supporting each other Clapton. Smartly Reuse the same motif in coronation crown. And we're not done quite yet Beneath the cloak and over her gown Sansa wears a metal corset. The sculpted motifs cut out of the metal. Corset are kind of sinuous. And they reference the branches again this where would tree. And whilst that's a has now forsaken the metal ring of her favorite necklace the long chain culminating with the needle at the end now hangs from her waist which is yet another reference to her absence. Sister who has fled the capital for parts unknown and my question is will. We see an entire series. That is just about Aria. Hope so I need to. Sandra had many rivals if not outright enemies to defeat to get to this point of.

"Okay cast. Is it time that we get into some specific characters? That's why we're here. Yeah I think it's time Have to admit working on. This episode was a little bit intimidating due to the sheer number of characters. That appear within the series. I mean I kept asking myself. Who SHOULD WE FOCUS ON? There are so so many characters that I love and we're not going to be able to go into detail about each and every one for the sake of time I mean it's little things like Clapton saying about the character of various the robes have enormous leaves that conceal his hands. I like the idea that virus could gather secrets inside them. And for any of you who might need a little reminder or haven't seen game of thrones virus was a spy master with constantly shifting allegiances. So Clapton's costumes. Were very poignant for his particular character and while we can't dwell on various we'll try to include as many of these little bits and bobs of information like this about as many of the characters as we can so CASS. Who Shall we begin with? How about some of the ladies? We meet in the very first episode. There are so many strong female characters in this which is one of the reasons I love it so it's really hard to pick one to begin with but let's go with Sonya Stark. She's particularly interesting because she like her siblings really has to grow up quite quickly on the show When we meet her. Saez EMBROIDERY IS NEAT. And precise will that of her younger sisters is always messy not necessarily due to her younger age but rather her willful nature because it turns out as we find out that she's far more interested in the art sword. Play than the art of embroidery. Sandra however was conceptualized to be quite an accomplished seamstress in her own right. Clapton imagined her making Oliver on clothes. And executing her own embroideries which is lovely when we first meet Sansa a winter fell. She wears the star blue however the shade. She wears is a bit lighter than that of her family which was intentional. It really set her apart in a way. This makes perfect sense. Also because once she becomes betrothed to Prince Joffrey. Her family allegiances become tested when she moved to King's landing. Her clothing quickly makes an abrupt shift away from those dark blues and she begins to favor the Komo asks styles and pink and green color palettes worn by her future mother in law thirsty CLAPTON SAYS STONE SET. Even switches up her hairstyle at this juncture to more closely resemble servcies. Long twisting locks. These costumes are prime examples of the importance of costume as a vital storytelling tool this goes any production of course but especially in a show. Like game of thrones where they are incredibly important and not only distinguishing worlds from each other but helping to show a character story. Arc Saunas costumes as with all the characters. We we'll discuss today relate an incredible amount of essential information to the audience. Even if you might not have consciously perceived it yeah for instance You mentioned that Sansa begins wearing pink and Mauve in particular now becomes a favourite of stances because it somehow a blend of stark blue with the traditional Lancaster. Red and this shade is the ground color for her elaborate gown for her nuptials which is the first garment. I'd like to talk about in detail. Because Clapton has noted that she chose a quote gold and Mauve shot brocade fabric that was embellished with metal hip pads to make the gallon. Feel slightly. Armored cast is really the embroidery on this piece that is spectacular in symbolism. Clapton says the seizure of the House Lancaster. The lion was stamped at the back of her neck suggesting that Sansa was now their property. However the embroidery on the girdle that criss crosses her chest and encircles. Her waist includes Dire Wolves. The schedule of the starks as well as fish which was essential of the family from which her mother. Caitlyn comes from additionally we see embroidered. Dragonflies assemble that seems to be unique to sponsor herself her own invention which symbolizes her feelings of captivity. You also see that. She frequently wears dragonfly necklace as well during this period cast. Clapton designed the jewelry. In addition to all of the costumes on this show on how right no small fee and and we must say that. Clapton did seven of the eight. Seasons of game of thrones we should of course credit April fairies wonderful designs. For Game of thrones season six. And that's when ferry took over for Clapton when Clapton was taking a small break to design the costumes for the Netflix series. The crown which I'm sure many of our listeners have also seen but because Clapton designed the preponderance of this season's. It's really her work that we're focusing on in this episode. But I digress. So let's get back to this jewelry. Class has said that she always designed the jewelry with great intention and that the jewelry pieces seen in this series were oftentimes some of the most deeply symbolic items that a character would rare and that rarely if ever to she create a piece of jewelry which was not in service to the story arc or character development so basically the jewelry was just never gratuitous embellishments ornamentation. Command makes sense too because if you think about how. Tv's filmed you know you're seeing close ups a lot on the character's faces so you're really going to see a lot of those jewelry pieces highlighted on the screen close up and so take for instance the necklace that Sauna adopts after she escapes the clutches of the Lancasters. She wears different variations of the same style throughout the show. It's this large ring. That's about three inches. In diameter. It hits her high on the chest just below the neck and threw it is threaded this long chain which dangles well below her hips at terminates with a long pointed sewing needle at the end and as. Clapton is noted. Quote this is an unbroken circle. Symbolizes strength is symbolic statement indicating that sauna is ready to fight. It's also a reference to her sister. Arya who carries a sword called needle likewise on says white wedding coach for her marriage to Ramsay Bolton the front closures feature two clasps from which dangled to large metal fish. And this was a nod of her mother's family tolleys. So the last and final ensemble of that. I'd like to speak about. Casts is another giant Norma's spoiler alert. So we will issue this once again. Fair warning friends. I'd like to talk about her. Coronation Ensemble from the final episode. Of all of game of thrones you know samsa has now prove yourself one of the most resilient characters in the entire series you know. She's often abused as a female pond. By the men in her life husbands or otherwise but in the end she outlasts all in his crowned Queen of the North. Yes and her own. Samba really is a metaphor for her journey. Clapton states I have given her a costing that featured imagery referencing the events of her life and honoring family and friends whom she had loved or at offered her guidance along the way although saunas coronation gown was blackish Grey Clapton. Actually use the exact same textile as the one she used in white for Marjorie. Tyrrell's wedding to King Joffrey who was formerly Saunas betrothed. Are You with me here? Despite their common fiancee Marjorie was Kinda Sansa in King's landing when no one else was so using. This textile gained was really a nod to the shared experience and their friendship. The style of skirt seen on says coronation gown was once seen earlier in the series worn by her mother. Caitlyn stark. And that's not the only familial connection referenced. In the silhouette of this unsolvable the cloak she wears is asymmetrical similar to the one that her sister Aria in the final season and the embellishment on Santa's cloak is laden with meaning one shoulder and sort of pseudo sleeve of the cloak is embroidered with fish scales again a reference to her mother who was murdered during the slaughter of the red wedding earlier in this series where. I know soda of My Life. But you got you have to watch. Don't watch it. You have to watch it. Because it's a pivotal point in this story so back to the clock descended from that same side. Just below the fish scales. The cloak also features motif of beaded and embroidered. Red Leaves which Clapton says were inspired by winter fills crimson leave. We're would trees on the other shoulder of the cloak. We see a beaded embroidered head of dire with an merges from the for trimming at the neck of the clock this is a tribute to lady. Saunas dire with who was killed by in the first season and the dire with monty appears again in this. Assemble this time a tribute to her brother. Rob The former king of the north at the red wedding where he too was murdered. He wore a class with the motif with the heads of two dire supporting each other Clapton. Smartly reused the same Motif in Santa's coronation crowned and we're not done quite yet of beneath the cloak and over her gown SANSA. Wears a metal corset. The sculpted motifs cut out of the metal. Corset are kind of sinuous and they reference the branches again of this. Where would tree? And while that's has now forsaken the metal ring of her favorite necklace the long chain culminating with the needle at the end now hangs from her waist which is yet another reference to her absence sister. Aria who has fled the capital for parts unknown. And my question is. Will we see an entire series? That is just about Aria. I hope so much. Sandra had many rivals if not outright enemies to defeat to get to this point of course perhaps none so formidable than sixty lancaster married to king. Robert Baratheon Sir. She was also the mother to the heir of the throne Prince joffrey along with her two other younger children Moore sell it. The latter was sent to live in Dorn at the age of nine to be more or less raised by the family of the Dornoch Prince Tristan to whom she was promised as a future bride that surface. Three children are not her husband's the king and instead the result of this ongoing incestuous relationship with her twin brother. Jamie isn't exactly common knowledge to everyone else in the show we were. We learned quite early on but in a circles that are aware or suspect. This cast the entire right of succession to the throne into question. Serious deception in terms of the paternity of children would be far from her last and over the course of the series she really emerges as this protagonist villainous. Par EXCELLENCE HOWEVER. This wasn't always necessarily the case. When we first meet seriously as Roberts Queen she had very little agency of her own and for one of her very early ensembles Clapton designed Pale Blue Green dress which was embroidered with bird motifs. She says quote. I love the idea that she sees herself as a cage bird and just to drive this point home cast this blue green shade for the dress was also used in the wall coverings of servcies bedroom as if she was little more than decoration or ornamentation for the palace itself and how quickly things would change. I actually think that we could. I personally think she's like one of the worst greatest villains of mystery so after King Robert Dies of wounds sustained while hunting. Thursday is now the Queen Mother meaning. She's the mother to the king and as inexperienced as teenage joffrey still is Sir holds considerable sway over him and her own. Political ambitions quickly reveal themselves not only in her actions but also in her costumes. The changes in costumes for instance. She now adopts the Lancaster family read and increasingly wears the families lion single April. You noted earlier in the context of sunset. Sir Sees Gowns were Komo ask and Clapton has noted this as a reference as inspiration for these designs. She also looked to the silhouettes of the Middle Ages as inspiration for much sir style. Yes and that medieval inspiration is quite evident in the long trailing sleeves. That sir she is so fond of the dress that she wears to Prince Joffrey wedding term. Margery Tyrell is a wonderful example of Clapton skill at layering. A lot of these aesthetic references a gold ground with a subtle gold fully MOTIF. The dress features signature hanging sleeves golden embroidered lions at the shoulders and a highly unusual neckline..

Steen and what it whether we prints that Gil lane Gil and Kelly Maxwell okay Elaine yeah the S. the S. the silent the French Navy she still at the in and out down the street or is she saw her there today yeah I know you go there a lot so I am back I try right went there last night yeah don't leave me with your view we time girl yesterday afternoon before the show that's where I went yes and they're always fourteen year olds hanging around yeah and all these guys in their sixties it was. we should not Sully that's an idea in an out cigarettes wrong I apologize for sure anyway he's big you judge not to release his name and the identities of others accused because it could tarnish their reputations now let's think about this for a moment what would be one of the reasons you would be named in these Jeffrey Epstein story I don't know you part took two in the final sex yes you're having rampant sex with a fourteen year old girls I I I'm sorry but that's that's the only reason I guess their argument is since empty instead in the criminal case has been dropped what good would come of that. well you're still sexist thank. I think the what the lawsuit is that one of the girls said these guys sexually molested me. and the guys you're saying no we didn't so the girls are filing a defamation suit or at one girl's filing a defamation suit right. so there's discovery. and I guess the girls have collectively spoke about all the guys that were forced forced on them yes abstains racket is peta final sex ring so it's it's all fair game it's all part of discovery and it's just a matter of whether judge thinks that all the files ought to be publicized or not well you an old centers around this Virginia Roberts prince Joffrey Jeffrey Joffrey anything Joffrey she apparently wants to unseal thousands of pages of documents related to our civil lawsuit against. obviously not only esteem but this Dillane Maxwell they referred to here this is fantastic news stories is your post referred to killing Maxwell as the alleged show curious. pretty cure estructuras like a procurer yeah and she went and she went on a scouting missions to on the girls into joining at scenes there as being by the way she wasn't the only woman we'll talk another woman's were you worried about this too but it says according to this legal filing John Doe lacks specific knowledge about the contents of the sealed materials but it's clear that these materials implicate the privacy and reputational interests of many persons other than the two primary parties to the action Joffrey of Maxwell so it is. how does he know that he's in the papers because he knows he probably had sex with the underage girls and she had contact with the lane Maxwell to hook himself up and he figures his are probably in there somewhere so he knows what he did with the with the girls yeah and now he knows he's in this lawsuit and so what's his standing to say I don't want to be I don't want to be publicly embarrassed because you get you committed the acts one thing it's gonna come out eventually things Gleim axles the main one alive in the store entities now Deborah she's probably got money to do say her father was a pretty wealthy was Robert Maxwell who is a extremely wealthy media tycoon so to make her case trough is gonna have to say yeah Maxwell brought me into this world when I was under age and hook me up with these men and here are their names that's what she's probably going to do with her papers because that bolsters your case you need specific details if you're going to claim something against someone else and to actually be able to name the man and by the way are you learn from one of the core dumps from the Joffrey case remember this is like a month or two US right before Eckstine died the former Maine senator George Mitchell ex New Mexico governor bill Richardson some money managers name Glenn do been Dershowitz was in there and in a late M. I T. professor name Marvin Minsky was probably very happy he's dead she claims she was ordered to sleep with a a rotating door of high powered man it's it's always good to die before you're out in a pen a file a lawsuit. best to choose death and while she previously testified she was loaned out to prince Andrew for sex it's not clear if his deposition is among the still secret record so I did realize there's thousands of pages of documents yeah probably describing all kinds of unspeakable sex acts that all these men committed. related to this is a British actress by the name of any Taylor. supposedly prosecutors here in the U. S. want to interview her over her ties to abstain and apparently as I mentioned a few minutes ago it wasn't suppose he just killing Maxwell that was procuring teen girls France demand is says celebrity cohorts it was a few women that were doing this and I guess she's concerned that they're pulling her into this and she was not part of his inner circle that's what she's claiming I don't believe it I don't think you get into the stories by accident. I really don't innocent people who I get your you know your mom and my mom were not involved in this story. the people who are suddenly dragged into the story and they're going well no I didn't do anything is my name in there my name is not in there is it what was it you know what I want the court to seal that just against my name's in there but I didn't do it shot out well not fooling anybody turns out that any Taylor was a personal assistant to go lane Maxwell right and one of the women who claims that they were in this ring when they were teens is Joe Hannah soldier Berg she claimed that did this woman any Taylor taught her how to massage amp steam. with both women stripping for him. eight six. she also claim that killing Axel called her her sleeve yeah yeah that's why she's panicking that's why they said Mr guys panic. her brother told the Daily Mirror she's been accused of doing things are completely shocking to her she work forget lean as a P. A. that's a pump of a private system a personal assistant and but that was it in two thousand and one she's distraught by this is that Clinton. Oakley since the story broke. I can see the hats really lame load yeah pretty changer ever since they're stupid when they tore their their tour that nobody when bill and Hillary that there's like five people one of the sure the events I read the prince injuries being disinvited from various events. I did see that the other day yeah add X. he's got too much of his think autumn you know when that many women claim that right we're in and you have all these photos in hanging out with that steam in the strip to talk on the jet and looks like nobody's buying his his the Niles either nobody's pines yeah you know what it's a very cynical time nobody believes that public denials anymore I think the general attitude is if you got caught up in a detailed way in something like this you've got to be guilty there's no way you accidentally fall into a teenage sex right that's not possible I mean the best thing that could happen to them is that steam died if he did die but that that doesn't mean this is over because you still have these women with somebody else disappeared was it that fashion designer. I saw a story that there is one of the other guys who was a customer as is suddenly disappear without right they don't know if he got that French guy I don't I gotta go French designer there's something over the holiday weekend that he's dead nobody can find. the end. I coming up after five o'clock we'll take a look at hopefully we'll have some audio of this long and boring C. N. N. town hall about climate change involved end democratic presidential candidates the highlight of which is Joe Biden got a bloody II. is Bernie bunch and this apparently camel Harris said we've got to give up cheese burgers. oh okay I'll vote for her. "Very least einon thinks dragons live forever. Because when he's at the we go to the climax of the movie, he gets shot in the heart. He pulls it out. And he goes oh fuck, I'm immortal. I better save this dragon. So I can stay immortal. He runs over to the dragon. And he's like, no, I don't kill him. I want him alive and safe safe. We're all turn ity. So he at the least thinks that dragons live forever. Yeah. Where would he get that impression? I suppose his mother's. But I guess that's other is the his the Queen Mother. The dragon lore expert almost all of her scenes in stuff, but lines were cut. So I'm sure there's probably stuff where they explain like what all this. This means, but they don't I don't explain the magic that links them until the very end. But I feel like that. I the concept of these linked identities where one person feels the pain of the other. And they're like they're lot since reserve. There's a well enough established fantasy concept that rolled with it seem to bother you a lot more than me. Well, it is. It's definitely a well-established concept. But usually the way that it works is whatever happens to one also happens to the other not whatever happens to this one only happens to the other because this guy get shot straight through the heart with an aero, right? And the dragon falls from the sky, but he just pulls the arrow out, and he's totally fine. Sure. So whatever happens to him seems to only happen to the dragon. But it doesn't work in reverse whatever happens to the dragon happens to both of them injured his hand deliberately at one point. So that I would have to drop his crossbow or wherever dagger whatever he's holding against. So I think it does it just you don't see the dragons not intentionally hurting himself off. He should have been doing more often. Like you gotta put his legs being the combat. Nobody. I don't understand why he can just pull an aero out of his art and be okay. Well, also does the I didn't have to be mortally. Like is this like a Harry Potter corker situation? Where what what if Drako just kills himself? Does that instantly kill or is this I now, mortal, I assume it would instantly kill him because what happens at the end of this movie amounts to that. But he had already taken massive mortal damage like he'd fallen five stories he got stabbed this. What if that, right? You know, his Dragonheart. And also, I'm saying it doesn't seem to be a two way street here completely completely parallel. It seems like there's something that affects the dragon when it happens to and more than the other way around. I don't know if that's intentional or just kind of an whatever on the part of the filmmakers because if any time Drako could just dot killed himself. I mean, there's an argument that he should've had Bowen just running right through. But I guess the other thing is the dragon wanna make sure humans was redeemed and he needed some leader like Boeing that he leave and trust. It didn't need to change the heart of Bowen at that point. Because it's amazing what it takes his heart. How little took to change the heart of einon, right? Because it's hilarious to me that I didn't goes into that cave, but his heart pierced and the dragon gives them half the heart, and as he's being fucking carded out on his would have been his deathbed if not for this hard. He looks at the slaves and he's like, yeah. I think they should rebuild my fucking castle for this Mckee has not even begun to recover yet. And he's already broken his oath. Yeah. And that's the thing. I thought that that's another thing they misplayed like Bowen's rage. Against a dragons. They should have made the boy less of an obvious rotter like that should have been a big reveal at the end of the movie was like, you know, when he signed the betrayal the code, and he's like, I never believed in your fucking code. I wanted you to teach me how to fight and this is how I used you. But we fucking knew that because from the very beginning of the fuck and movie, this this boy prince, he's he it's like it's like he's acting like like king prince Joffrey, and like Tyrian is trying to teach this kid, like, hey, you know, a, peaceful people and a prosperous kingdom. That's what you want. That's your goal. And this boy is lag. Okay. Okay. Whatever, but he's acting like Joffrey. And then when it becomes king and starts raping and murdering and pillaging tier and be like, you'd be trade my teachings like what dude you're just fucking Tueson, oblivious. And I felt like they could have done that. Maybe they need to fifteen more minutes where they show like the, I don't know. I could just played the boy as if he was. Ron disciple of Bowen. And then it's just a genuine betrayal that Bo and find out until the end of the movie now, I think you're right in a couple couple ten more minutes on this movie in the beginning would go a long way toward selling that betrayal that relationship between these people a lot of shit that just doesn't quite make the cut in this movie. Yeah. I wanna talk about some of the things in the movie struggles with because well, let's praise special effects on the dragon. I thought were of the air it did seem like basically Jurassic Park era technology. So it's not I don't think it's going. We're still a few years away from with the matrix and Lord of the rings and Phantom Menace. But we like in this era. This is kind of state of the art. But what's incredible is if I think drastic park holds up, but one of the most visually impressive scenes and original movie when I first saw it was when you know. The character grant sees the big drastic park. Like the big field of brought up at Pata. Sources diplomatic. I don't know what what they fucking call Brontosaurus is the long next veggie sources and everything's kind of like in harmony is grandeur. I think that scene looks like shit because they're very obviously, low poly dinosaurs with poorly, textured skin and bright fucking sunlight, and that's one of the hardest things to do. But it does. And unfortunately Drako in ninety percent. His movie is a Jurassic Park dinosaur with wings that breathes fire that is in full fucking daylight. And it's a little rough. It's a little rough. Yeah. A little rough. But not not. So they didn't they didn't. Like I've seen worse. I've seen much much worse. People gave a shit. The people are animating Drako by largely to get a job. What's our opinion about the the the wrinkle in this movie seems to be the dragons only breathe fire through their nose? Okay. Like, I mean, if you got to glands that kind of combine chemically to create fire, which I'm sure that's how this dragon works. But good place to separate those things is left and right nostrils. Yeah. That's true. That's actually just sort of a natural. Evolution rain of fire. Dragon physics into Dragonheart. Okay. Would it work because because I'm thinking like, yeah. In less dragons evolve like a separate nasal and mouth passages. Of course, a lot scientists say that actually be good evolution. Because we the only reason we fucking choke try to pass the lifesaving air through the same tube as we pass the life giving water and food had fired of that. Yeah. What if what if you shop fire three or three like who the fuck merges on the lane going to the lungs and the and the stomach man separate those tubes? But maybe maybe dragon's head of obviously head of humans on snares. That's how it works. And yet we kicked their at in points Evelyn's working towards ever advancing in points. And that's not go back to school true. Eventually, we'll all become dragons. So the almost everything else is pretty lacklustre light. He didn't cleanings. Cleanings accent the Dennis Quaid's accent? Which is not an accident so much is an effective voice. Yes. Like, he seems to just put about two to dump trucks worth of gravel into his voice. But only at certain scenes, he sounds like Fosse the bear doing Batman. I know I can trust you. Walk. Dragon. It's worthless.

"Long ago in a time of darkness and tear. Tearing. There was an evil king who threatened the land and its people. The only hope was an incredible alliance between a man of honor and creature of legend. Dragonheart is a nineteen Ninety-six fantasy film directed by rob Cohen's starring Dennis Quaid, David Doulos Dina Meyer. And starring to voice of the incomparable, Sean Connery. Jim the connections. The game of thrones here obvious. Title. Yeah. You can't you can't hearts, right? Dragons, the heart have hearts and deniro's ate a whole one in his first season one. So there's hearts, unlike rain of fire likes to bury its game of thrones connection under the lead, whereas at front center, what talk about your history. Dragonheart? What'd you think of it cetera et cetera? I can't remember ever actually having seen this movie. But. Theater? No, definitely non the theater if I have seen it it's on TV. But I almost feel like this is one of those sort of osmosis nineties movies for me like I never caught all of it. I caught clips my friends talked about it. And I just sort of feel like I have a shared experience this movie, even though I've never seen it. So that's kind of where I came into this movie from and I watched the first time for the live lodge. And I thought man this is an awful movie. I really hate this movie. And then my second watch I'm thinking. No, I don't hate this movie. And it's not an awful movie. It's kinda just like nineties mid budget movie. Yeah. Some point some of pretty give it at some points, the quality inexplicably falls through the floor. Yeah. And like, it's sorta miscast and I. Like, the tone doesn't quite hit. Right. But that's kind of nineties mid budget movies in nutshell, isn't it? Yeah. Like unless you were doing really stellar work, which it's funny because they they Amazon wanted us to roll directly from that into park, which is a stellar nineties movie, unless you're doing those kind of big budget films with amazing directors than this is kind of what you get. And I don't think it's awful. I think it's mediocre. And I'm kind of the same opinion. It's a fun kind of nineties movie, and it has a lot of those fun. Like, this is has a lot DNA in common like, Robin Hood, prince of thieves and son of the other euro medieval misadventures of the late night eighties nineties, but I started reading more about the making this film, and I started feeling bad because I feel like the person who wrote this this Charles Pogue character really had this idea of making a modern day classic fairy tale in the vein of a Princess bride. Something all ages could enjoy on ironically, it would teach like some positive morals, and it would actually have a strong narrative arc for the here to go through and they hired this rob Cohen guy to direct it. And he just went guy for Ari on some of the aspects of this this project, and they like you said miss casting the guy that. They wanted to attach his projects was Lee niece. Liam niessen. Yeah. And I think about what and nothing it's Dennis Quaid. 'cause I like Dennis Quaid as an actor. But I when I when when I was soon as I heard that on my old shit the character of Bowen would be twice as good just putting Liam these in there because he's not struggled with an accent. He's not struggling this weird gruff Batman voice. He's just believably this this night of integrity and honor. And I just feel like when I see things like that. And we'll talk about this later in the podcast where I see things where you know, it's not like massive misstep. So there are one or two scenes like that. But you think like a tweak here and there, and this could have been like a classic movie, and it wasn't. So if you're not familiar, if you're like, Jim, and he's kind of vaguely aware of Dragonheart, this this movie came out in nineteen ninety six and it's about a night who is one of the last holds the old are. Three and code of chivalry and honor. And he's trying to instill this into a young boy prints of very young prince Joffrey type and remember the old code. And you'd be a greater Kingman your fault. Because as father is a real shit. And the sun is is is wounded in this peasant battle that his father's fighting and Bowen the night and his mother the Queen who has great respect for the ancient ways and the weird quasi dragon religion. They have in this this universe. Take the boy to be saved by via dragon magic. The dragon infuses half of his Dragonheart with the humans and some magical process. Sustains the boy's life. But then the boy turns into a real shitter, and he doubled down on all of his his father's policies engages in some slavery's, some torture, some some mayhem attempted rape. And the those are the stakes. Those are the stakes and who's going to win is going to be the nights and his old code backed by dragon magic and the last noble living drag on earth. There's going to be the shitter king spoiler in real life to shooter kings one we have no more dragons, we have no moment of honor. We're we're living in these modern times where those concepts are laughable and silly. So we don't how it ended. But this is a reimagining like if we still had cool dragons, it sounded like Sean Connery.

"The line for America. Buck Sexton is back. CNN didn't tell people is that they allowed and invited politicians to come up on stage and electioneer Scott Israel was able to make a big electioneering speech before this even began in which he already started deflecting blame by putting it on me. It was treated as this. I think wait for ratings. They they tried to stylized this to make it most emotionally impactful. I questioned the ethics of them. Putting it on this way. This wasn't Tucker. This wasn't a journalistic endeavor. They had this town hall, literally, titled it was called stand up the students of Marjory stoneman. Douglas, demand action. That's not a journalistic endeavor that is not a journalistic enterprise, that's advocacy. That's right casinos a propaganda organisation for the left. That was my former colleague Dana lash talking to Tucker about how CNN has gotten an award named for Walter Cronkite. Because of their town hall on gun control, which was just an effort to slam and smear. Everybody who believes in the second amendment everyone who understands why we have a second amendment. That was CNN's moment to bring together it's audience in hatred of people who think that the right to bear arms is important. We know what really happened at Marjory stoneman Douglas high school in terms of government failure and the government failure. That was the most agreed. Occurred. You could argue long before the actual shooting when there was call after call nNcholas cruise was visited by police time and time again, dozens of calls everyone knew that this guy was a bad kid. That's it is thing. I know we all like to believe that people everyone's capable of salvation is capable of salvation. But some people are bad and he was a bad kid. But if you want to look for agreed GIS government malfeasance the policies of sheriff Scott Israel in that county in Florida were designed to appease the social Justice left. And he was playing politics all across the board with how they would react to referrals for students to be arrested or students who are breaking the law. They were cooking the books to make it all look better and to make it all tidy for the social Justice left. And then that one officer who just sat outside the building and didn't go inside and refused to go inside. His all those gunshots were going off. Helpless students inside. And he he was armed. He was trained. He chose to just wait. Just wait. It was it was cowardice and CNN note in focus on any of that. No, no, no. They went the opposite direction. They held Scott Israel up as some kind of a hero in this whole process. They held him up as the voice of reason, and those stolman the handful who's really about two or three of them of showman. Douglas students who were then turned in overnight turned into kind of policy Rockstars on gun control. And we're running around prince Joffrey style calling for boycotts against people, and and just just trying to destroy people because everyone was oh, you you can't criticize them they're just kids and they've suffered a tragedy. We'll are the kids who suffered a tragedy. Or are they adults who suffered a tragedy? And now think that they have the right to dictate national policy to people who know a lot more than them about everything that we're talking about here. But there was that moment. That moment in time when they were able to exploit that to the fullest and they did that CNN townhall. Remember, I watched it, and by producer, Mike just pointed out to me that Israel was removed from office in January. They got rid of them. There was obvious. Obvious. Ineptitude dereliction of duty on display from Israel and from some of the school resource officers. Just call them like school cops, but the school resource officers that were on that were on hand there. And I just I remember watching that CNN townhall and thinking how does anybody really believe it CNN is not the media arm of the of the DNC? How does anyone believe that? That's not the case. And that they're getting their kidding awards for themselves. I mean, that's it's not enough to just be a bunch of propagandists for anti Verdy the anti gun movement. And and to say, I mean the stuff that the fat kid. What was what's his name now producer, Mike? What's the, you know, the emigrants with the young woman, and then there was the who's the hawk hawk. Oh my God. Forget him. I know. Well, I think I think it was intentional like my memory banks. Just because I remember him going around and saying the most outrageous indefensible horrific, the NRA's terrorist organization NRA has blood on its hands. These senators are all bought and paid for you know, these congressmen bond paid for by the NRA they all blood on their hands guys running around in with. Traumatic said that she was like fan girly over them when they showed up, you know. Oh, I'm just so like so impressed and amazed to see all the running on calling people blood-soaked terrorists who had nothing to do with anything. And if you dare do criticize him. You risk. You risked your livelihood. You risk your profession because he was one of the anointed you can't criticize that guy people that the left will create and then weaponized for political purposes, you know, the the weaponization of victimization is something the left excels in and has been doing for very long time. I always give all due credit to Ann Coulter. Who was the only one who would point out that the quotes nine eleven widows were really a handful of democrat women who had lost their husbands that is true, obviously. And that is very sad and very solemn. But we're cutting campaign commercials for John Kerry on foreign policy and the US response to terrorism. And then if you said anything like, I don't think that they're right on this. How dare you question the nine eleven widows and no surprise to any of you. There are a lot of other nine eleven widows were like, oh, let's go kill the bad guys. Now. Thank you. Let's find them and route them out of there. Caves and take them out. You know, I mean that was the that was the attitude. But that wasn't what you heard from the media because they had created a special class of victim that is able to dictate to the rest of us without being challenged. And that was what the CNN townhall on gun control was all about. Amazed. Also, I I wrote my piece today in in the hill on how the New Zealand approach here is just not going to work. I mean, it's not going to do anything. It's not even really dealing with a problem that New Zealand has I mean, my piece was New Zealand's gun ban is not the answer to stop mass shootings. And you know, they're almost a thousand comments on this piece. And so many of them are, you know, people attack me just make an argument here for why? And the very clear the New Zealand gun ban is not going to stop mass shootings for all the reasons that we've been talking about and instead of engaging with the argument people Tuesday say that my face is ugly or I'm stupid, or I'm I'm a coward who doesn't care about dead children, or, you know, dead people or dead Muslims, or whatever it is. I mean, people think my face is ugly or not put that aside the rest of that is obviously not true. But see this is what gets to the heart of the issue. And it's one that we, unfortunately, we cannot avoid talking about because it is reality that opposition in this country now opposition to the second amendment has much more to do with the dislike that the left has the real deep disdain that it holds for gun owners. That's right for those of you who listen to this who own firearms and believe in the second amendment, the left hates you. That's what this is really about. They hate you. Because also your ownership have guns means a lot of other things about your politics, and what you're likely to believe. And that's what the cultural divide really is. They know that it's not gonna this isn't gonna stop there. If we try to do a New Zealand, it would never happen. It's not going to stop any violence, but they like to lecture people on how we need to take action on guns sedan when you say, no, they can say see you don't care about kids because you're a bad person. Because you know, what that's what they believe the.

"He's holding the line for America. Buck Sexton is back. Luke certain areas, and I wanted everything. And the sanctions are there. And I didn't want to give up the sanctions unless we had a real program and they're not ready for that. And I understand that fully. I really do. I mean, they spent a lotta time building it, and that doesn't mean the world has to be happy. But I wanted them to d- nuke. D nuke. The president says didn't want to give up sanctions. This is why there is no deal. Now, the president was very clear that this should not be seen as as an end to the process, right? The president was saying today that after he left Hanoi. It's not like there's not going to be more follow on conversations here and more to discuss. But. The relationship will continue on and we'll continue with the current status quo, which is that there won't be missile testing. There won't be advanced. Nuclear stuff going on or ways try to advance the nuclear program that they have and mostly it's the missile testing. But there's other stuff that they could do to. Here's what the president said about this place sixteen. We will keep the relationship. We'll see what happens over the next period of time. But as you know, we gotta hostages back. There's no more testing and one of the things importantly that. Chairman Kim promised me last night is regardless he's not gonna do testing of rockets and. Nuclear not going to do testing. So I trust him. And I take him at his word. I hope that's true. I think it was very good very friendly. This wasn't a walkaway like you get up and walk out. Now. This was very friendly. We shook hands. Saying they're not there yet. Right. He's saying that we weren't able to get done this time. But this channel is open now, and we'll see, you know, part of this process. And I think this is hard for us as Americans to consider is the the preparation back home in North Korea. I know it's not a democracy. It's a despotism, but you prepare the people around Kim, his senior advisors military generals the apparatus that Kim doesn't matter. What desperate you're talking about? There's always people that you have to have that implementer will right? So even if you're prince Joffrey and game of thrones or king Joffrey game of thrones. You know, you need the hand. And you know, you need the Queen regent. And you need people around you at a game of thrones coming back in a few weeks, you need people around you to implement your will. No, no matter how authoritarian any individual may. Be there has to be an apparatus around them to enact their will. So Kim, even if he wanted to take steps in this direction, and I I don't know if he does or not I haven't under chance to talk to him. I'm. That'd be kinda funny. Wouldn't it man? If I could that would be quite an interview, you know, he did take a question from this. This was pretty remarkable. You know, this is not something that. Certainly not something you see every day. He did take a question. Do we do we have that he resigned? Yeah. Here we go play thirteen. This is before the meeting. Thanks..

"He's holding the line for America. Buck Sexton is back. I wanted to do certain areas, and I wanted everything. And the sanctions are there. And I didn't want to give up the sanctions unless we had a real program and then not ready for that. And I understand that fully. I really do. They spent a lotta time building it and. That doesn't mean the world has to be happy. But I wanted them to d- nuke. The president says didn't want to give up sanctions. This is why there is no deal. Now, the president was very clear that they should not be seen as as an end to the process in the president was saying today that after he left Hanoi. It's not like there's not going to be more follow on conversations here and more to discuss. But. The relationship will continue on and we'll continue with the current status quo, which is that there won't be missile testing. There won't be advanced. Nuclear stuff going on or ways try to advance a nuclear program that they have mostly it's the missile testing. So then I trust him. And I take him at his word. I hope that's true. I think it was very good very friendly. This wasn't a walkaway like you get up and walk out. This was very friendly. We shook hands. Saying they're not there yet. Right. He's saying that we weren't able to get done this time. But this channel is open now, and we'll see, you know, part of of this process. And I think this is hard for us as Americans to consider is the the preparation back home in North Korea. I know it's not a democracy. It's a despotism, but you prepare the people around Kim, his senior advisors military generals the apparatus that Kim doesn't matter. What desperate you're talking about? There's always people that you have to have that implement your will. Right. So, you know, even if you're prince Joffrey and game of thrones or king Joffrey game of thrones. You know, you need the hand. And you know, you need the Queen regions, and you need people around you. I'm excited game of thrones. Coming back in a few weeks, you need people around you to implement your will. No, no matter how a thorough -tarian any individual may be. Be there has to be an apparatus around them to enact their will. So Kim, even if he wanted to take steps in this direction, and I don't know if he does or not I haven't had a chance to talk to him. I'm funny. Wouldn't it man? If I could that would be quite an interview, you know, he did take a question from this. This was pretty remarkable. It's not something that. Certainly not something you see every day. He did take a question. Do we do we have that? He resents. Yeah. Here we go play thirteen. This is before the meeting. I wouldn't say that. I'm. From what I feel right now. I do have a very good results with out. I mean, you got to hear I I've never heard the guy speak before I'll be honest with you. I mean, I've read transcripts, and obviously is not speaking in English speaking Korean, but. I've never even heard his voice. It's always dubbed over, but you know, the back home processes that he's going to have to. If you look maybe this is all maybe this is all for not. I'm not trying to rule that out. You know, this is the worst regime the worst government on the planet. The one that I think is the most likely to provoke a war that could go nuclear and the deprivation the the viciousness the sadism the slavery, the torture that the North Korean state engages in really exceeds anything anywhere else on planet earth right now, they are number one. And. You're dealing with somebody who sits atop this mountain of misery and enslavement, and despair, and he didn't create this system. But he's at the top of this system. You have to remember, I'm not even sure it's clear that Kim could just flip some switch, and all of a sudden everything starts to feel a lot more normal there. The people have been propagandized through. There are a lot of people who live in such terror of the regime, they believe the regime. This is where I always tell you read escape from camp, fourteen read aquariums of Pyongyang, and they will haunt you. Those books will stay will stay with you. You know, the escaped from camp fourteen is like a Korean version of the Gulag Archipelago. I mean, it's the kind of literature that affects the way that you see notches that country, but the way that you see life and the world around you, and it takes you into the real depths of human, despair and misery and violence and hatred. So make no mistake about it. North Korea is the most evil country in the world right now. Iran is an evil regime, but you know, the Iranian people their way better shape. What's going on with North Korea a lot of Ronnie and driving around and BMW's and having parties, and it's very very different scene. Right. That's not the scene. You have in North Korea. And part of this whole process, and the reason that it's going to be phased. If it works, which it may not because maybe you know, he could just be an evil SOB. And that's it. But at least now we're finding out at least now Trump is trying and when you and this is another part is that I don't think it's nearly enough analytic play. You know, you look at who the North Korean dictators have liked in the past they like larger than life figures, they like Dennis Rodman. Kim Jong Hoon Kim Jong Il like Dennis Rodman. They love Michael, Jordan. They like a huge American celebrities. I forget there's some other celebrities. I'm reading about this that the Kim dynasty really warmed to. And I can't near the problem with with some of the North Korea. Now, you do is the North Korea jokes in means that people make get get mixed in your head with some of the stuff. That is true sounds like it can't be true Kim Jong UN got eighteen holes in one in golf in the same day and things like that. The North Korean news agency propaganda. It sounds so preposterous that it's like something from the onion. But it isn't from the onion. But Kim is going to have to go through a whole process here. It's not as straightforward as just okay? I want our country to be a normal country. I mean, I think that there's a real risk that he could be they could take him under house arrest. And there would be somebody that you could have some kind of a palace coup. And there's other members of the family. Who knows our our visibility into the real power structure in North Korea. And the decision making process is I can guarantee you very very minimal. It's very hard to look into a place as closed off in the world is North Korea. And really know who's make our visibility into the, you know, the decision making in France in our own government is limited as you can imagine what we really know about North Korea. But the reason this fell apart was sanctions this is very important play fifteen. They wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety. And we couldn't do that. They were willing to d- nuke large portion of the areas that we wanted, but we couldn't give up all of the sanctions for that. So we continue to work it. We'll see what we had to walk away from that. I think will end up being very good friends with chairman Kim and with North Korea. I think they have tremendous potential. I've been telling everybody they have tremendous potential unbelievable potential, but we're going to see, but it was about sanctions. I mean they wanted sanctions lifted, but they were willing to do an area that we want it. Lift sanctions, but you know. That wasn't going to happen. If Trump had come back, I assure you if Trump had come back from Hanoi, which is so much more important. And I know I've been thank you so much more important than this nonsense with Cohen on Capitol Hill yesterday just just goes to show, you Democrats are unserious people a serious threat to the country, but unserious people all the saturation coverage of Cohen. All that's all the news wires everyone's talking about. Meanwhile, the president's trying to solve a war. That's never even formerly been ended and going on since nineteen fifty one. And deal with the the greatest national security threat really in terms of in terms of loss of life potential realistic national security threat that exists in the world today. He's trying to tackle that they just want to make jokes and make fun of them. But if he had come back from this and he had agreed to sanctions relief without a full accounting of the North Korean nuclear program and without an agreement on steps for denuclearization with verification procedures in place. I would have said Trump Trump's getting played. I told you I'm disappointed on where the wall is right now. The wall is not where we were led to believe it would be at this point. And doesn't mean, but there's a difference between it's not what I want. It's not perfect yet and someone has failed. Someone is sold us out. Someone was lying. Those are not the same thing. The wall isn't where it should be now and Trump hasn't gotten as far at this point in his presidency as he should have based on the importance of the wall in his campaign rhetoric and and the size of the immigration crisis. Which is only gonna get worse it. We'll be talking more about that. I'm sure in the weeks ahead. But on this issue. The fact that he did not remove sanctions is absolutely essential. And this is where this is where the Obama administration fell into a trap because they were desperate and Obama couldn't Obama's team couldn't negotiate their way out of a paper bag. I mean, they'd no idea what they were really doing because they didn't really understand the opposition. It'd really understand who the Iranians are and what the Iranian regime is trying to do willing to do. And there was a tremendous amount of hubris, and arrogance that was just dripping from the, you know, Ben Rhodes and the the other chief foreign policy propagandists of the Obama administration..
