"To win it for Dallas. But the game came down to a kick. After a weird on site kick, and by weird, I mean, really, really cool. Little watermelons Side spinner by Greg Zuerlein and the Falcons waited for it to go 10 yards. It never went 10 yards until the very end. But that point the covers it all moved on top of the football got on it. Give it back to deck. Prescott Zuerlein would then hit a 46 yarder at the gun. Cowboys win 40. 2 39 Just amazing football game on Sunday up in Jerry world, Then you got the Packers taking on the Lions. That alliance jumped out front. But then it was time for Aaron Jones to get rolling. He's.
Cowboys employed the “Watermelon kick” to pull off comeback
"Cowboys last night, pick it up lay dowse needed to recover that onside kick and they did this is a team that was trailing by twenty in the first quarter. Somehow some way climbs back in and got the own onside kick and marched down the field and kicked a forty six yarder to win this game somehow cowboys pulling off the improbable here is the winning quarterback Prescott after the win. Yeah, this is huge because McCarthy said at halftime. We need to be here. We need to be right where we are and he said the final score didn't matter as much as a finding out the type of men that we have the type of fight that we have within this team but as I said to show the resiliency to go out there and continue to fight. Continued, continue add it and just be able to come out with the win. It does so much obviously way better than star knowing too. But going one one and I'm having a lot of confidence after after we put ourselves in such a big hole in the first quarter. Just, just stay at and everybody believes each other that was huge and so in. So many ways.

"Question. How did he do? Okay. So here's the thing about Joe Brown. This is why I think you like him so much. Oh, it's a really great quarterback that just plays hockey team. So he's like your deck Prescott your a bitch. I thought you were like the light bulb in my head went off last night when I was watching it. I was like, well, he's a good little quarterback like Dak Prescott. He just plays for no wonder Jasmine likes them so much. By the way, I have you know you Optimus Prime Don the word shity so it cut out on you said shity team. That's all right. I show you going to say that we were going to like look we could be an item now. I'm just disappointed. Oh, I'm sorry. Now he's to you guys wouldn't match very well. He's back to blonde hair doughy eyed, you know, he still has his dreams and happiness. I was just that his way too innocent for you. You know, you just strip him of all of it off. I would fare. I tend to do this with all men though. Let's be real I tend to slowly take away their hopes dreams, you know their desk for Life their happiness any kind of happiness life. It's it's what I do to all the men that are in my life. Okay, so so that's your analysis which fuck off so that's no that's my analysis regards to jobber. Okay, my analysis in regards to the Browns. All right. Here's the thing about the Browns obj less. Always he had headlines Amy. Okay. This team has a boss ass offense page. There is no reason why they shouldn't be scoring touchdowns all the fucking time. I mean think about the players that they have Nick Chubb Fremont who both went off last night Jarvis Landry. I mean you couldn't get you can get that is a fantasy leagues dream right here, right? Yep. There is no reason why this team shouldn't be amazing because you know what their defense is really cool. Good to this team should be really competitive and making the playoffs and they're not understand now Grandma, who knows what's going to happen tell you what happened last night watching this game Baker Mayfield just he changed into a different person. Like when he like a human in a good way in a good way when he came off the field. He didn't go and sit down on the bench. He stood on the sidelines and watched his defense playing and then he I mean he rallied those guys. He was not going down to Joe burrow. I mean, you could totally he's like, there's no fucking way. This guy's going to show me up and there's no way I'm losing to the fucking bangles and you know what he totally carried his team. He really truly did stepped up it was offensive. Now if they can do that every single weekend this team is really like it has all the weapons that it takes to be a fantastic team which made me. Made me Ponder the fact that there's some teams that you just expect to lose and then there's some teams that you expect to win like the team's you expect to when you expect the steel real attacks right now. You expect the Cal you expect to win. You don't expect the Lions or the Bangles or the Browns. I mean the low-hanging fruit, you know, you don't expect those teams to win. So when they have when they have rosters long, the Browns have their own turning into a team that you they should be winning with what they have. So it sounds to me that the Browns are basically like if you're looking at it from a fantasy league point, it's the guy in league who basically cheese his way to get the best team because everybody else is internet either sucked or they were on auto draft or they forgot there was a draft right? That's the guy in the if you're equating it to a fantasy team roster birth. Okay. Number one. I liked it. You know I prematurely said shut up about the Cowboys cuz I thought you were going to say that you expect them to lose and I like that you're saying that you expect them to win because that's what you do you absolutely suck. Oh you that's what we do problem. That's where we are a we are an elite Lord team. Anyway, that's what you're going with I am. Well, I don't know the baker Mayfield is still a shitstain to me so good for him rallying his team. He's still a shitstain. I do love his Progressive commercials their home like the latest one. Yes. They are the latest one where he's like. Oh, it's getting ready to rain. Help me cover the furniture. And two guys like you mean the stance he's really good in those commercials. If you could only be as good a quarter as he is in those commercials. We would be set the dog pound would be set. Well, we are you a dog pound or now. I mean, I you know, I have a soft spot for the Browns just cuz they always lose. And ever since that movie came out draft day with Kevin Costner yet. Oh, I'm out. I'm done with you. done with you Amy. Your brown spot is showing. I know I know you know, I just I'm weird that way I don't understand it. Either it is I don't either try to figure you out every day and I just you know, I do too and since I'm like, oh I get myself today and then sometimes I'm like now he's nope don't understand myself today, but that's okay. That's most of us as well. Amy. So rest assured you're not in Company by yourself. I think it is twenty-twenty it is. Okay. Well that's sad because now Joe burrow Hollow be his name Falls 200 and two. Yeah, it does and but you know what this guy he's he's a good quarterback. He is is there he should be in his helmet I think time to get mr. Guys. Sometimes he tries to carry his offense which isn't great because then he gets pummeled by pencil like he got pummeled last night several times. Well, you sure. Why does LSU brain sure what he's trying to win? And I totally get it. But at the same time he needs careful because you know, oh, he's a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well getting them know and you just see a lot of what he was doing at LSU that worked and I think you know like every rookie has this learning curve right where you come out transition from college to the big leagues and it's like, oh, okay, it's funny cuz I was like really different style of football right? I said to Bruce last night. I'm like, surprised that they just threw this guy in the deep end. I mean they just started. Oh totally, I mean, they didn't granted he dangles. What else do they have? I'm. That's the problem. They don't have anything else but you know like places in my where to get backing up Fitzpatrick that makes sense. It makes sense for him to kind of, you know way into the NFL same thing with Dwayne Haskins, you know, he he was back up for a while until he kind of learned his name. Yeah, now Joe girl, man. They just threw him in the deep and they're like here you go, bro, you go bu. Yeah. Well, you know what gotta he is trying I mean, he's playing his ass off out there. No he is but he is and that's why I'm like super team Joe burrow like we gotta do this man. Like I'm telling you. It's the stogie. We'll do it get this guy that mean that you're a Bengals fan know how fucking no. No, I like. Oh bji in a Browns fan. I like Joe burrow Ina Bengals fan, you know, I will always bleed silver and blue Amy. That's the only color I would leave home. Anyway, let's move on to the Chiefs. Okay, love us and Pat Mahomes you love some Andy Reid do that cheaper mofo back, right? So Andy Reid's big old windshield mask that he had on. When was it last week? I can't remember. Yeah. We're only in week to segregated windshield wipers. Yeah, so people were like what the hell and so like it was fogging up. You couldn't see shit, but this may be a thing. This may be a thing coming to a coach near you because off on the first Sunday of the NFL season when this happened several coaches were seen either one not wearing masks or to not wearing them properly because the mask police were out and the league is not going to stand for that. It's currently vice president of football operations. Troy Vincent issued a memo this week saying protocol requires all individuals with bench area access including coaches and members of the club medical staff to wear face coverings at all times failure to adhere this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and or clubs. However, Amy, there is no word on what those accountability measures will be so that to me that phrase is what kind of sticks out to me. What does that mean? do you do find them? Probably I mean you can look dead. Here's the thing. They're coaching on the sidelines of talking into Mike's they have to be able bird they have to be able understood. It's really hard for all of the to happen on your face plus all these guys are around each other all the time. They're all you know, I practiced together around the field. They're hitting each other all in each other's faces, you know, I mean and how many people have tested positive since the start of season one? Yeah. They did a very good 2700 players so very good job with with that right off because like you said, they've been implementing measures. They've been following the rules, you know, they've been testing a lot, you know, we got into this, you know leading into this actual season. Jeez, how many coronavirus updates that we talked about on this podcast about hey, this is what the League's doing. This is what they're making them do kind of thing. So something is clearly working. It's really great to see that that's positive news that you know that they're only seeing that wage. Chat, I think I that they should I really think they should go with a handy read mask to be quite honest can still see the coaches face. The microphone can kind of be up underneath it. So they may be able to understand what the coaches saying and and you're shielded. You know, when somebody comes up to your face, you know, I mean, think that that's fine but having to wear them like when it's just, you know covering your face in your nose again, like it's hard for me to understand people when they're wearing a mask and talking to me. Yes, I mean, so imagine imagine being on the field the quarterback coaches saying the guys in booth coordinators up in the booth are trying to understand what the guys on the field coordinators on the field are trying to say, I mean, it's just it's a it's crazy. So it's a shitshow you gotta be able to walk. You gotta be able to your job. I would take that looking like I've got the windshield of a Camry in front of my face the whole time vs Lee having something on my mouth cuz that's frustrating me. Yeah. Give me the telephone number. Windshield all day long over the you know, suffocating face masks which by the way speaking of Tesla. Did you see that their reports of some them being janky like getting like parts that were like really cheap shity on some of the Tesla's that were falling apart marvelous. I know so yet twenty-twenty doesn't happen. Just wanted to put that in there for you. All right coming up next in offsides, you know fall like we said is upon us. Although you wouldn't know here in Texas. It's still like an anus outside but here's something for your home that will make it fall feel less anus e okay Mom handles some new ones that are coming out and they're actually already out and we'll explain to you with those candles our next. All right, let's get into offsides and we've got some candles to tell you about so Amy, yeah, you know football's back. So if you want to get a little piece so that game day experience at home along with fall. This might work. Okay. I know you love candles. There's a company that's owned by Anheuser-Busch call Babe wine. They just created three football scented candles one smells like an artificial turf field. Okay one smells like a Nachos not bad and one

Dak Prescott reveals he got help for depression: "It saves lives"
"Scott Van Pelt. One big thing was about Dak Prescott and Prescott spoke out about depression skip bayless criticized him for it and Scott. Van Pelt. made it as one big thing last night. We track that down for you. Here's Scott last night on sports center. We've never had more access to athletes than we do right now, social media has allowed them to control message and their brand like never before, but it's more than that. The modern athlete is more willing than his or her predecessors to share themselves in ways that reveal humanity their vulnerability. It's easy to lose sight of the fact that these stars are just like we are because we won't ever be in. Line for thirty, some odd million dollar a year contract. We won't ever be the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, but we all carry around things with us pain burdens years, and they get heavy is the real. Even if you're the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott shared with Graham Bensinger that following his brother's death by suicide, he struggled with the pressure that the isolation of quarantine impacted him significantly as well. Prescott shared this. When you have those that you've never had I think that's more more than anything the chance to realize and recognize it on to be vulnerable about it. And that's what's so different about the modern athlete, not instagram or brand management. It's the understanding that there will be understanding that you don't have to pretend to be tough when you aren't that you can ask for help and know that it's going to be met with compassion for the most part. And also to know that those who can't muster any? Aren't worth your time. We're concern. Yeah, I'm there's. Fell the last sentence was my favorite part in George Dino in L Z granderson joining us now for cross. The lesson was my favorite part. The encouraging part about this whole skip bayless Dak Prescott thing guys is the reaction to it from everybody else that Dak Prescott was universally welcomed after somebody tried to criticize him for being vulnerable and that's when that's when you know you've turned a corner when the when the reaction is. So overwhelmingly one sided. George. What'd you think about all that stuff? Look I've worked with skip before on first take many years ago and I think skip is a nice man. I think what the problem is that people don't realize is that he has a very one track mind. If you notice, there was a huge mistake. He made a mistake not that long ago. I remember when Paul Paul Ryan, kind of delved into sports in one of these political debates can. There was a clip that went viral about him. Not even knowing who was right like that's just who is and I'm not look I'm not condoning what he said at all I think what he said was reprehensible like I someone particularly who has suffered from depression who has had real struggles dealing with loss at times as many of us has Scott pointed out right I think he's a very nice person off the air I just think he's not very worldly or standing of anything that's not in his particular sphere or circle, and most of it is sports

"Will I will I will never forget. That preseason game with Dak Prescott in the La Calcium. Jared Goff was the number one pick that year Prescott was outstanding I. Think he threw two touchdowns in that preseason game in like you said, you almost knew from there and he was going to be his job or the next day quarterback up that we have on Sunday is Aaron Rodgers drew brees. What does this mean to you? Expect a lot of points to be scored when these two guys play down the haven't met since two, thousand, fourteen but four previous meetings there two teams of average just under seventy points per game. It's the most for any quarterback match up in the Super Bowl era and these guys. Want to in touchdown passes since two thousand, eight when Aaron Rodgers became the packers. Starter is the only players. Four hundred touchdown passes in that span but has I talked about Dak in Russell Wilson kind of. Shredding in the same direction heading toward this game at least when we talk about this season packers out forty points in each game Aaron, Rodgers looks great I think I think this game is going to tell a lot about drew brees and maybe the rest of season You're GonNa hear after that Monday night performance you're going to get a lot of talk about breeze I. Think over the next five or six days I don't know if you agree with me there and Sunday night. against. Aaron Rodgers. Everybody watching I think this will be an interesting game to see how the narrative for the rest of the season goes for brees. Well I, think you're referring to the fact that through the first two weeks of the season he has not looked sharp is not like drew brees after setting the completion percentage record last year I think he's completing like sixty three point nine percent of his passes this year. He just hasn't looked the same so far right. That's what you're talking about. That's exactly what but that doesn't mean that that he can't turn it around and they're both one one. One one and I think as you a little more big picture at this matchup. The real question with these guys can they get back? Right? They want super bowls in consecutive seasons brees in two thousand, nine season Rogers in the two thousand, ten season there surefire. All famous drew brees every passing record in NFL history. But they haven't gotten back to that super bowl.

Prescott has no business showing his vulnerability. I don't have sympathy for him going public with. I got depressed. I suffered depression. Engel says she's heard the criticism. Dwayne The Rock Johnson is Buying an Entire Football League
"For many of us, Monday nights sieve Longman, Monday, night football. So today's a good day to consider a shakeup in the football world. The potential revival of a would be competitor to the National Football League last week actor and former pro wrestler Dwayne the Rock Johnson with other investors bought a start-up Football League called the xfl this take some explanation especially to those who aren't avid sports fans. Let's start with the xfl contrary to popular belief. The NFL doesn't football is just had a monopoly for the most part for so long that most. Most people consider it an institution for the last couple of decades though rivals have attempted to build new leagues to compete with the. NFL. The XFL is one of those its roots began way back in the year two, thousand when World Wrestling Federation chairman. Vince. McMahon decided to build a league that could compete with the NFL NBC Cohen the League and planned to carry its games the XFL plan to extend the football season by playing games from just after the Super Bowl in February. Until late April. Now, at the time league owners, hopes were high that the Saturday night games could Wu and elusive audience TV. Teenage boys according to CNN. Vince McMahon. WWF had been almost magical in its ability to appeal to twelve to twenty four year. Old Males who typically don't stay home watching TV on Saturday nights. The xfl hoped McMahon could bring that WWF formula to football and win that desirable TV audience, and for one brief moment, it looked like their hopes were within reach the first game in two thousand, one drew more than fifteen million viewers a massive audience. That gold ring looked close and yet it turned out to be so far away as the season wore on audiences spell like a botched handoff after that single season, the xfl shutdown. Sometimes in life timing really is everything, and so it goes for Vince McMahon who decided that twenty twenty would be the right time to revive the xfl it launched in February, pitching the Seattle dragons against the DC defenders teams played five games among both players and owners. Optimism rained TV audiences varied by geography, but were decent enough that by March believe was well into planning the twenty twenty, one season. And then Kobe came along the League canceled the season March twentieth less than a month. Later, the XFL filed for bankruptcy sports writers added the xfl lists of other WanNa, NFL competitors who'd also tried to make a go of it over the years. The XFL seemed to be just another failed startup, but perhaps they declared the league's death too soon. Let's get back to Dwayne Johnson better known as the Rock Johnson actually started his career as a football player, but never made it to the NFL instead, he joined Vince McMahon's wwf where he quickly rose to superstardom before retiring to become an actor, he's now the highest paid actor in the world according to Forbes. With his business partner Danny Garcia who also happens to be his ex wife, the rock led the fifteen million dollar purchase of the. xfl. Out of Bankruptcy Sports Management Company redbird capital as a third partner. Johnson says the purchase was actually Garcia's idea she loves football and when the XFL declared bankruptcy, she saw their chance to own not just a team but an entire league not to get too grand about this. Consider that the salary of a single NFL football star say. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak. Prescott is thirty, one million dollars. That's more than double what the partners paid for the xfl which has eight teams. Still, the deal made headlines. Perhaps it's a bit of hopeful light entertainment amidst the onslaught of grim. News in two thousand, twenty, Garcia. Johnson. Say They plan to produce multimedia content for fans year round, not just during the active spring season at production time, they hadn't yet said when the League will start to play again.
Top Voice AI Stories in the First Half of 2020
"I. I asked each of the panelists today what they thought was the top story in the first half of twenty twenty invoice in everyone seemed to agree that covid nineteen was to be Let's start with you John There are many stories about voice in Corona. what stood out to you what's your experience Ben and how that's impacted the voice industry. Generally whether it be Europe or US or globally whatever your perspective is on that. That's interesting questions. At the beginning I think we covered it. In like end of February or like mid. March. I was a little concerned the odds because various like building for assistance like Alexa Google Assistant. is still very often seen as to some like innovation. And so what I thought is that companies now that they're not sure where market is going in these uncertain times that they budgets for this and that's this all of these developments, wiggins slowdown but it feels like at least when we're like when I'm talking to other industry professionals, it feels like that. There is love optimism One might related might be related to. People being at home more using Alexa more I. think Catholic early say more about this. The other is that more and more people now see the value of vices not being just like saving time for example, but then also being germ-free technology that you're like there was this one them all by. Pico. Voice thing queered they have like the voice enabled elevator of, for example, all of these different applications these. Are. Pretty exciting I mean we're still in the early days regarding this, but I definitely emcee that more and more companies are thinking about voice experiences the go beyond building. Games Alexa. For example, on that go beyond marketing Alexa skills, and think about k. what's what could the health benefits of filling filling voice and Tad's Free Interactions Look like A great point eight is thinking about that when. When you look at voice, you mentioned this idea is works experiment for a lot of businesses and it might have been coming out of their innovation budget and you see some sort of really big disruption that's hitting revenues profits, and therefore discretionary spending. We would see we would normally expect these type of special projects beside line but in fact, what we're seeing is a lot of there being accelerated. This. Very interesting to see an I thought some of that is definitely kind of a self fulfilling prophecy of the industry that you're like, Oh yeah. Alexa has been slowing down a bit at least it felt like this in the scale store Kayla look into other ways that we can build exciting experiences but it also feels like that more and more companies that haven't been in the industry in the voice in the treaty are also looking for like how to deploy was experiences now. Whether it be touch free or it just be for a really convenient way to interact. Catherine Yon just mentioned you. You're sort of background and focus on the consumer. It will bring you in here a when you think about the voice view the voice brew lands and Cova Nineteen. How do you come out on that? Yes. So there are a couple of things I. Love. I love to talk about I. You know there have been lots of reports that have indicated that there's been an uptick in voice assistant usage and that's great for the industry but I think what's even more interesting is that the data showing that people are trying more things more things they haven't done before with their voice assistance and I am definitely seeing this. You know through the Lens of voice brew the engagement with forcetruth emails has been up significantly through You know since the start of the pandemic and March and also the volume of subscriber emails that I get has exploded in recent months. So people are at home they're trying things they're running into issues and they want help solving them or they're just excited that something new work. Then they wanna tell me and they get in touch. So it's you know it's kind of anecdotal but you know I'm I'm definitely seeing more people trying more new things with their voice assistance and I think that's that's really exciting. That's really interesting to me that that you know it it doesn't surprise me that. Because people are all they're using their devices more, they're looking for more ways to do it. They've discovered voice brewed so that it's just another signal that your subscriber base has gone up Frankly because of you know it coincides with all these other things that are happening simultaneously. Yeah no that that's been great and it's also just with the existing Subscriber Base I. can see that you know people again people are at home. You know they're reading their reading their emails. They're just they're they're engaging more and I, think. Part, what's you know from my perspective also really great about this. Is that I am hopeful that this will persist beyond Kobe. So once you kind of open the can of worms of trying a lots of new things with Alexa or with Google assistant that people will now be open to continuing to do these things but trying more new things So. You know all good

Cowboys, rookie WR Lamb agree on $14 million, 4-year deal
"CD lamb officially a member of the Dallas cowboys having signed his rookie deal, and then he'll join Dak Prescott and and Michael Galloping. Amari Cooper and all that tally Ezekiel Elliott all that talent and the Dallas offense obviously makes them even more potentially explosive
Dak Prescott still in talks with Dallas Cowboys
"Prescott still cannot. Deal for his. He no, he's he. Is a franchise. Cowboys I'm trying to. Some of these ads pop up, but he is in his final leg of his contract his current contract now he still has not been able to ink a deal. with the cowboys sale they are still in talks negotiations, but he says he is cowboys. Through and through, he still have one more year left under the current contract, which still thirty four thirty one point four million dollars. so he's still going and get them coins for that, but if he don't sign a contract, I guess he'll be a free agent you know with. Self-driving industry takes to the highway after robotaxi failure
"Today. The Financial Times has an interesting piece up. That's getting at something. That I've sort of been saying all along about Anamika vehicles? If you can already give me autonomy on the highway. Why not just give that to me now? I mean we have heard some of the reasons why companies like Waymo decided they needed to go all the way to level five autonomy, but according to the Financial Times some in the self-driving industry are now gravitating towards. Only autonomy as the whole dream of the go anywhere fleet of autonomous taxis continues to be a dream deferred. Quoting the These sector is experiencing autonomous. Disillusionment says Prescott Watson. Principal at many mobility and early stage venture capital firm now quote the pitches robot taxes are a pipe dream, but let's take this technology and do something more lucrative he adds. Investors are still interested in autonomy, but the focus has shifted towards practical services such as grocery delivery, automated warehouse, robots and autonomous functions restricted to highways, the concept of highway, only autonomy is currently capturing the attention of the industry, instead of trying to solve the myriad challenges of go anywhere rogue taxis engineers could focus on making it work on just highways to begin with autonomous vehicle. Kodiak robotics and embark went to accelerate that timeline by narrowing their focus too monotonous stretches of road. Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag
"Quarterback Dak Prescott will play the upcoming season on a one year exclusive franchise tender after he and the team failed to reach an agreement on a long term deal before Wednesday's deadline. The press guy will play the 2020 season on the $31.4 million franchise tag.
Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott To Play 2020 Season On Franchise Tag As Deadline For New Deal Passes
"Let's get start gentlemen and. And we begin with America's team. In the latest on Dak Prescott after arduous talks over the past few months back in the cowboys were able to reach a long term deal before Wednesday's four PM deadline meeting the Star quarterback play the twenty twenty season on the thirty one point, four million dollars collusive franchise tag
Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag
"Not Deal for. Prescott and the cowboys could not agree to terms on a deal that would have the quarterback between thirty three and thirty five million dollars annually with a hundred and ten million of that guaranteed. So Daf will now play this season on the thirty one point four million dollar franchise tag. He will once again on himself this season if there were reports that the two sides were close, they clearly were not close enough. WHO's more likely to regret? Not Getting a deal done deaf Prescott or the Dallas Cowboys. I'm going to say. Despite the fact that I believe is going to end up the highest paid player than Patrick Mahomes in NFL, history I Dak is going to get the money that he ultimately wanted I think he's going to be franchise tag this year franchise tag next year and then hit open free agency. But here for deck that in the in the pursuit of that money, he's going to become an athlete that I. Don't think any athlete wants to be which is your name is not your name anymore? It's not Dak. Prescott is having a Joe Johnson Joe. Johnson stopped being Joe Johnson. He started being Joe Contract because no matter how good he was, he was never going to be able to live up to that contract. And I think Jack is setting himself up to be a little bit richer than he otherwise would be. Be a guy who can never live up to that contract, and the reason I think Dallas is not gonNA regret this, even if they back on the quarterback treadmill is because the the worst thing you can have in this league. Wild does not have a quarterback. The worst thing you can have is a vastly overpaid quarterback. If you don't have a quarterback and find a new one, you can go try to find one if you have a vastly overpaid quarterback. You're just stuck and so I think Jack is going to get what he thinks he wants in this the most money in. Have ever gotten aside from Mahomes I. Think he will end up regretting it because you have a great organization, you have great skill, position guys, and if he would've just signed for Carson, Wentz plus ten percent, no one would've held it against him, and instead this contract and the negotiations around at wild. You're going to be the narrative surrounding him for years to come. See I disagree. You think that it's it's. I think the worst thing to have is a mediocre quarterback. Any shot at the super. Bowl and I'm GONNA throw to a clip of Darren Woodson in a second, but I think in our minds if it's been glossed over that, it was troy and then Tony, but there was a the drew bledsoe Weirdo error there that they were in a bad spot. If we can take a listen a Darren Woodson please hubs. In, the world when you have quarterback purgatory. Where you can. You're not good at that position. That position is holding you back from winning games, and there was a time before Tony Romo era. Where there were four years, we went five and eleven. In a week, totally struggled at that one position in in today's game that one position is means a ton means wins and losses gotta get you over the Hump in when you don't have that Clare in that position. It's a huge struggle. I'm. So. Bryan. I think this eventually gets done I. Don't know if he gets franchise again. I think that we just moved the goalposts and a long-term deals going to get done. They like each other. Dak wanted for the cowboys wanted five I. Don't think the answer is. Let's get divorced just because we can't agree. I think this eventually get works gets worked out and I. Don't think anyone has any regrets long-term. The cowboys ended up regretted. Just a bit because I think that goes out and has a very good year. This season with Mike McCarthy Mike McCarthy comes back in after winning a playoff game or two, and says we need to have Dak back now. The cowboys have to pay him that long term contract, which is going to be a little bit more than they would have had to pay him this year. Here's the question that I've always had. If if the cowboys don't love, why would they ever want to sign him to a five year deal versus the forty deal if you don't love them then? On to a four year deal, you can get rid of him quicker. Why would you want WanNa longer contract if you don't love him, and you don't know exactly what he is for your football team to me I think they know who back is they just don't WanNa, pay him because they see him as a fourth round pick. A guy that has played well in this career hasn't quite got over the Hump. I don't think they want to pay him if I'm back Prescott I, feel like I'm in a great position to meet the floor. The absolute four is thirty three to thirty five million dollar contract that you can get from some other team after the season. If things don't work out for you here in Dallas, I think a team like Jacksonville. Teams that would need a quarterback was still need a quarterback next year and would be that open market possibly if he doesn't give franchise in the floor to his contract would be that deal that he turned down this season from the cowboys.

"Boars one colleague. He'll join us on a hoc-, but first the news of the day of course is that the Dallas cowboys decided not to cave in to Dak Prescott contract demands, which means he will be playing on the franchise tag. This season Robert Parker the floor is yours. Here, we did so do Chris Russo. I've been telling you over and over. It he'll dead. Way Medicines since March I. Tried to tell you that this wasn't going to happen that DAX. They weren't gonNA. Side back to a deal and I'm going to tell you this. This is more than just about world. He's on a franchise tag. They'll get a deal. Dum Da da. You know what they just did. They just muddied the water. When it comes to Dak Prescott they just told everybody in the national football league where they're throwing money around like it's monopoly money. Everybody's getting paid. All of quarterbacks got paid, but they don't WanNa. Make their franchise quarterback. The Guy who's in route to being a lead. They don't WanNa make him happy. They don't WanNa. Pay Him and have everybody rally around him I'm sorry. Somebody helped me out. Jerry Jones. Really. What are you waiting on? I don't WanNa. Say Jerry Jones is all, but they moved his to offers from the stadium to the cemetery. Let's face it. How long do you have? And what you've done issue just compromised Dak Prescott in front of all of his teammates. How can they look at him and go? They wouldn't even cash dead dude out. They don't even believe in him. They didn't want to make him happy. They could have looked at it and said we got a short window, a small window which trying to win Super Bowl. We got all the pieces here and now you're going to have a guy out there trying to prove that he should have been signed and that he deserved it. There's doubt all around the National Football League today about Dak Prescott. What didn't he get cash? Dow, they would give it away money. Anybody coming along Teddy Bridgewater gotta deal for you quiet data hill. We gotta deal for you anybody in their uncle. We gotta deal for you way what you had a great Qbr last year. What you would ask you at your best to Tisco year. What and they still didn't Ben? To give the guy what he wanted and it's only going to cost them more money the Logger Day Wayne That tells me more and more that he could wind up like kirk cousins and have to go elsewhere to get a paycheck and God forbid that he gets off to a bad start. He doesn't play well and the cowboys don't make the playoffs again. The bottom line remains that Jerry Jones Undressed Dak Prescott today. He humiliated him in front of all of his teammates and to the rest of the national. League National Football League because he refused to do what everybody else's dumb. Dammit Matthew Stafford gotta deal with his deal with was up and they had to pay him. He had a playoff game in a decade. And Dak Prescott has to go walking around Dallas. His tail between his legs and a franchise tag slapped across his back 'cause. He's not worthy of giving him the deal to make him feel good and get. A chance I'll super bowl for this drivel. But. I got admit I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed. I thought you were coming much stronger. I thought you much harder than that. I I was thinking. Being. Amen is going to have the Mike. Can You admit that you cannot about the Mike? Sue I'M A man. Yes, I was wrong. I thought they'd sign him happy. I'm a grown a man. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it wit much stout. I was wrong. I thought they'd signing so white. He's still about the play for thirty two million dollars. He played last year for two million dollars. You think there's an issue. When he walked in the locker room last year, did everybody's Ao? Oh, his look at his tail between is laying. Oh, but that's important. To do you had? To get paid, and they refused to pay them I'm just GonNa sit this, go ahead. Go ahead I'm just GONNA. Sit here because you. Didn't you know your stuff was weak? and You you took eight minutes and it was week. So now you want interrupt me. Go ahead the Mike now once you. Join US one hundred ain't. Nobody will audrey nobody look at him sideways rookie deal go talking about. They looked at him sideways because he made two million last year. No, this was his chance to get paid, and they refused to pay them. They didn't give them the deal that he wanted in. Talking about last year last year, they didn't pay him either. He was trying to get the deal last year. That's the point. They were trae was trying to get the deal last year game. Day Dale. They gave it to Zeke he'll. They could assigned last year. But they didn't, and it didn't bother him A. he went out through with nearly five thousand yards and thirty touchdowns. Nine minutes to make a case and it was wait. That's why you keep interrupting me because you know you're dribble. Did live up to what you use I give you credit when the music using comes on when you stand up and get out of your seat when you wear a special colors, you usually deliver Ramleh Pu King. But, this was wake wake. Wack in the words of. One. My goodness first of all J. Slater was on last night. She told us this isn't anything like Kirk. They never offered Kirk cousins a deal. They just kept giving him attack and that's it. He had no choice. They wanted that Prescott the next five years. Don't tell me they all believe any. They offer the deal. There would have made him Richard Anybody this side Mahomes. But they didn't want him. and You keep bringing up Carson with Vania. Wins the GONNA. Play again, and and and and Jerry Golfing I might. I can't believe you. Go back to Matt Stafford my goodness. What if any of them done? That maybe Dallas was looking at. was what if they. At the end of the day that Prescott getting thirty, two million and I liked it, but he ain't worth. I thought he would get twenty something million. When we really started talking about this last year, so he's don't get thirty two million next year Deli signing to a rich deal oil get thirty eight million. The Union. Says, he'll leave you. Did. The year after that you'll either if you re did the franchise tag next year thirty eight million. And if they if they don't give him a deal after that or they want to. I can't imagine eight franchise after that is worth fifty four. But the cowboys will pay up. Though the one thing you said that made any sense. WAS THAT JERRY? Jones is trip in. Because as you say, rob is gonNA cost them more.

So bill the Dak Prescott contracts story, which feels like it's been a story now forever is careening towards conclusion. Creating might be the wrong word inching towards the conclusion. You Open your column by calling it. The high stakes game of chicken in NFL history. Why is that? Well, you know, we could be looking at one of the largest contracts in NFL history for a player depending on how the Dak Prescott negotiations go in similar to the Tom Brady situation a few months ago. We haven't deadline. We have a day I. Know that for me. I am keeping my calendar open on July. Fifteenth right around four PM. Eastern I'm going to be sitting in my apartment waiting to hear about a Dak Prescott extension. Extension because with the cowboys we know they usually take these things to the last second before coming to terms on a deal with Ezekiel Elliott as a recent example finally, Ezekiel Elliott, and the cowboys reached an agreement on six year, ninety million dollar extension, and according to ESPN's at water. The deal has fifty million dollars guaranteed. How rare is it for this sort of game chicken to happen with a quarterback? I mean and almost never happens. Teams and quarterbacks almost always find common ground on a deal before they have to get to the franchise tag, which is why since two thousand eleven, there were two quarterbacks who have been hit the franchise tag drew brees of the New Orleans saints and Kirk cousins of Washington. WHO's their quarterback? Who might figure into these discussions a little more prominently as this goes on? Bill. Dak often compared to the other quarterbacks drafted at the same time. Assume Jared Goff Carson wentz especially once. Both of those qb's signed contract extensions after just three years in the NFL with very little drama. Why do you think those deals were negotiated more easily? Really. It's about time and the time away from Free Agency for these quarterbacks when they're signing these deals Carson. Winston Jared Goff both first round picks because of that they have five year contracts a four year base deal, and then a fifth year option. Really, these deals or bargains the matter how you cut it. Because, they're bargains. These quarterbacks are signing deals quicker with wince. When he signed his extension, which was a four year. One hundred and twenty eight million dollar deal on paper thirty two million dollars a year. With, Prescott because he was a fourth round pick. He got paid less during his rookie deal with crucially heated. Dan have a fifth year option available on his contract. So once they cowboy got to that third season instead of Prescott being two years away from free agency, which was the case with Winston Goth he was only one year away from free agency, and the cowboys did try to offer Prescott an extension, but seeing what was out there. He declined that offer and. Honestly it's the best thing for him financially to do so. So what you're saying is while Dak Prescott made significantly less than his peers because he was a fourth round pick. It's also given him more leverage. Yes typically. If you're a rookie coming out, you want the benefit first-round pick because it's guaranteed money and significant guaranteed money. Whence made about twenty eight million dollars over his rookie deal. Goth was in the same space. Prescott made closer to four hundred dollars, but. Getting free senior year quicker is a much more advantageous situation. If you're a guy who is as good as those first round picks and I. think that is the case here with back rescue? So, let's talk about his actual contract. There has been a lot of speculation about what he has asked for what the cowboys have counter offered. We don't know the exact figures are terms. What do we know about what both sides want? You I mean I, think the salary here is really what the issue is over. It's not a matter of how much he's GonNa make per year I think everyone kind of agrees somewhere in the thirty four to thirty six million dollar range. The issue was really more about length. For that Prescott he wants to get to that third contract the contract after this one as quickly as possible because we know that the NFL's TV deals are going to go up when they're negotiated in twenty, twenty, one and twenty, twenty, two and possibly twenty twenty three. Most likely pretty dramatically that will trickle down to the players that will trickle down to the salary cap. For the cowboy side of things, though historically there a team that wants to sign players too big money contracts, but for as long as possible, and of course in this case they wanNA keep Prescott away from free agency for as long as possible by handing him a five or six year deal. So as this all unfolded, there have been reports rumors about what Deck Prescott has actually been asking for big numbers that have spurred some backlash from fans, cowboys, fans, accusing him of you know demanding too much money saying he should take a discount. What do you make of that? I think people need to be realistic about how much of a bargain tack Prescott has been over the last four years where he's made three point six million dollars combined over his last four seasons in a league where your ally Manning's here, Philip rivers is your nick. Foles are getting north of twenty million dollars per years. Entirely possible at the cowboys have made about seventy five million dollars of surplus. For profit on Dak Prescott S- performance over the last four seasons, and the cowboys by the way are not a team that is known for giving out discounts to their players. This is an organization where you'll get every big contract. They've handed out over the past few years by the average annual salary. It's one of the biggest contracts in all of football. Football Ezekiel Elliott has the biggest multi year contract by average annual salary for a running back same thing for Tyron. Smith Zack Martin when they sign their deals. demarcus Lawrence Amari Cooper second largest average annual salaries on their deals so I. Don't buy the back should be.

If even one person spotted them and sounded an alarm they would almost certainly be killed or captured farting new. Secrecy was the key to his plan. He told his commanding officer a few other. Select leaders also were informed including the governor of Rhode Island but largely. The plan remained on a need to know basis. He asked five of his regimental officers to volunteer for what he described as a dangerous mission but would give no details. The officer is obtained the five necessary well boats for the mission. Shortly before the raid. He asked for forty volunteers from his regiment. Again saying it was for a dangerous mission but giving no details every man in the regiment stepped forward to volunteer so pardon had to select forty men who he knew to be fit and experienced rowers at least four were former aquidneck residents who would serve as guides since most of the early raids had taken place on the eastern side of Aquidneck island and because the over in house was closer to the western side. Barton opted to launches raid from the West on the night of July fourth as the Rhode Islanders distracted the British with an Independence Day. Celebration of Cannon Fire Barton's five. Well boats made their way to Bristol and then over to Hog island just northwest of Aquidneck. It was only then that he informed the officers and men of the details of his plan with too many British ships in Narragansett Bay Barton moved as well boats further west to Warwick on the night of July sixth instead of a short row across to Aquidneck the team would make a longer trip along the west coast of prudence island. This was a much longer route but would keep them more than a mile away from any British warships and would allow them to use the island as a screen for many British. Lookouts continued. Planning and poor weather left team waiting until July tenth. During that Time Barton. Track the patterns of the British patrol boats in the Bay farting gave his final instructions to his men. Strictly follow orders. Keep quiet at all times. Don't bring any liquor and refrain. From any looting the boats had to row ten miles in the dark farting put a pole with a white rag at the top so that the other boats could identify the lead boat the menus muffled oars and benefited from a cloudy night as they move through the water they could hear British patrols shouting all's well to each other across the bay by about eleven thirty PM. The boats landed at Aquidneck island. The team left five men one with each of the boats and then proceeded to make the one mile march to the offering house in about twenty minutes at the House. The unit divided into five groups as planned three of them would surround three sides of the house while a fourth commanded by Barton would enter through the front door. The fifth group acted as reserve in case needed anywhere as Barton approached the front door just before midnight. The century called out for him to identify himself. Barton eventually shouted out that they were friends. The century then ask for the countersign in other words the password to identify that they were really British soldiers. Barton still approaching said that they did not have it but asked if he had seen any deserters that night by that time. Barton's team was close enough to grab the centuries musket and threatened him with death if he made a sound next. The group found that the front door was locked. According to legend one of the soldiers and African American rush forward and bashed out the door with his head inside the team quickly found over and his son but could not locate general Prescott when Barton threaten to burn down the house. Voice called out. The soldiers rushed to the room fighting a man sitting on the bed. Still Groggy and in his nightclothes fardon asked if he was general. Prescott responded Yes sir. Barton said you are my prisoner and Prescott replied. I acknowledge it. Barton's aide. Lieutenant William Barrington. Heard the noise and attempted to slip out his bedroom window BARRINGTON had been taken prisoner with Barton back in seventy five and had no desire to repeat the experience. Unfortunately for Barrington. One of Barton's teams was waiting outside that window and took him prisoner anyway. The teams collected Prescott Barrington and the century they attempt to take over and his son as well but when the to put up a struggle they decided they were not worth the hassle and left the Tories behind. They were focused on getting Prescott back to the boats. Prescott and Barrington. Were still in their nightclothes and barefoot when Prescott complained that his feet were hurt while walking over the rough ground the team simply picked him up and carried him the entire time inside the House. A taken only about seven minutes. It was still about midnight when the team began. Its march back to the boats back at the over in house and undetected dragoon. Who had been sleeping at? The house dashed a quarter mile to the guardhouse to alert the guards but when challenged e thought the century who is challenging him was an American so he ran back to the over in house without giving the news. Shortly after a slave from the house did alert the guard. The guard then jumped on a horse and galloped two miles to the British camp at the north to raise alarm the British. I assume that the raiders had come from the east where most the earlier raids had originated. They searched along the east coast of Aquidneck island but found nothing. It wasn't until around two. Am that they considered that. The raiders may have escaped across Narragansett Bay to the West. They fired alarm rockets to alert the navy ships but the Navy officers did not know what the alarm was about by the time they launched a boat to go to Aquidneck island. Learn to the kidnapping and return to the ship. It was already four. Am and the raiders. Were already back in Warwick. The entire raid had taken about six and a half hours. General Prescott Kidnapping surprised everyone. Americans were delighted while the British were shocked. Colonel Barton became an instant hero. The Continental Congress sent him. Congratulations and promised him a ceremonial sword. One of three issued to officers outside the continental army during the war several months later. Congress also commissioned Barton as a full colonel in the Continental Army. Barton's team received a reward of one thousand one hundred and twenty dollars from the Rhode Island legislature. One thousand for the capture of the general a hundred for Lieutenant Barton and Twenty Four Century. Barrington was also the nephew of British. Secretary of war. Lord Barrington making him a particularly valuable prize. It turns out the British Century was not exactly the loyalist British subject. He attempted to desert the army several times prior and apparently took this opportunity to leave the British army and start a new life in America. He was locked up for a time and exchange for another prisoner. However during the exchange he simply disappeared and never showed up at the British camp. General Prescott Lieutenant Barrington were moved to Providence Prescott except his situation as a prisoner and signed up. Parole agreement knocked to try to escape later. The Americans moved into Lebanon Connecticut where it would be harder for the British to launch a raid to recapture him. At first the Americans plan to give him free rein of the town as they did other officers general Washington or the press copy locked up. This was in retaliation for the way the British kept generally locked up and refused to allow him free reign as a prisoner in New York. Almost immediately general Washington reached out to general how to discuss exchanging Prescott for Lee. But how was in no hurry if thought was a more valuable prisoner that it was not clear if the Americans would even honor the exchange and he was still unclear on whether London considerably a prisoner of war or a deserter. Fi December. Seventeen seventy seven. How received word from London that he could treat Lee as a prisoner of war. Lee was given parole to move about New York City. Prescott then receive the same privileges in Connecticut. It would still take nearly a year for the two sides to agree on an exchange of prisoners Prescott and Lee would both rejoin their respective armies. In the spring of Seventeen seventy eight in Newport Brigadier General Francis. Smith took command of the British army. There he immediately increased security to prevent further raids short time later. General House sent Major General Robert. Pto To become the fifth commander of this post in less than a year in London. Prescott became the butt of jokes. This was the second time he had been taken prisoner by. The Americans rumors circulated that he had been caught in bed with the farmer's daughter and carried away naked. This of course was not true but rumor. Sti- hard or significant was the charge that he had been negligent in taking quarters away from the army and was prone to attack. Prescott faced a court martial upon return to the army is fellow officers agreed that he was more unlucky. The negligent his choice of housing on a secure island between his two armed military camps was a reasonable decision one similar to made by commanders before and after him he was acquitted and returned to duty during his captivity. London promoted him to Major General before that he had only held the temporary rank of major general. In America. General League would also return to continental duty as well but that of course is a topic for a future episode. Next week we're going to return to upstate. New York where General Burgoyne must contend with the murder of Jane mccrea..

"Doug Ali Bin for Colin. This is the herd so this story which is written by Todd Archer that with franchise with a deadline to use the franchise tag coming on Thursday. The cowboys sent Dak Prescott. A new contract offer now. Apparently source said the cowboys offered. Dak Prescott deal. Were thirty three million dollars per season with more than one hundred million dollars guaranteed on the table that was rejected before the season. Still sitting there and the cowboys had some sort of restructure in what they sent him and my guess is like look. This is the game of chicken to the cowboys. WanNa Franchise tag him. No one they want cost certainty and want to know what they're going to pay for their quarterback over the next three to four years. Secondly a you can't be clever with the money. If you franchise tag your quarterback dollar for dollar whether it's the traditional franchise tag which is like twenty eight million or the exclusive franchise tag. Which like thirty three that comes directly off the cap and it becomes extremely prohibitive to sign other players and once you use that tag. You can't use it on saying Amari Cooper keep Mark Cooper before you renegotiated long-term deal Russell. Wilson has the highest average for your salary from on quarterbacks coming in two thousand five million Ben Rothlisberger thirty four million of course this is just south of Jared Goff and Carson Wentz. Which of course leads us to wonder does. Dak really have to make more money than all the previous guys are more money than Carson ones. Which to me is just. It's dumbest most insane thing. You GotTa do right like we do this in real estate where there's cops how big square feet. What neighborhood find five houses that are cops and you get about the price? But that doesn't mean your house is always going to sell for a dollar more than the house next to you. And while you can say Dak Prescott Jared Goff and some people will look and say Dak Prescott coming off of his career year. Best offense in football jared. Goff's coming off a disappointing year. That would be fair. Jared Goff's year was disappointing because they went to the super bowl the year before. That hasn't happened attack. His disappointing year led to them being nine seven in a better division as opposed to Jack who got to five hundred in an inferior division like we can go round and round and round but the only thing holding Dak Prescott back from signing life. Changing money is that he wants to make a dollar more or a couple of dollars. More than Carson Winston Jared Goff instead of stepping back and going like. I don't know I get to be quarterback. The cowboys for three four more years guarantee one hundred dollars. And if we get this thing done. Now there's a greater likelihood of long term success with the cowboys. I almost feel like we're to the point where Dak Prescott is going to go from the most massively underpaid quarterback in the NFL to a guy who is the most overpaid quarterback in the NFL. We have seen Dak. Prescott without. Ezekiel Elliott when Zeke was suspended for six games. It didn't work. Well we have seen Dak Prescott Without Amari Cooper without a star wide receiver. It did not work out well. It doesn't mean that he stinks. It doesn't mean that he's not more than capable of leading the cowboys. But it cannot lead the cowboys by himself. He's gotten several opportunities. Do so and it. It didn't end up in the playoffs even this year with all the talent and with a mostly healthy lineup. They couldn't take down. They couldn't score a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road and the Eagles had practice squad wide receivers. I understand the financial game of chicken that you're in and I will ultimately be a cowboy but at some point never negotiation just go. Let's just get this thing done because every time every moment. A dollar sits on the sideline. That's less money your money.

"But he got better and you talk about what they did in his rookie season. We'll hell they broke the Cowboys franchise record are they are they matched the Cowboys franchise record for thirteen wins. I think you say that, that happens without Dak Prescott. I don't know if that happens with Tony Romo on the team, the entire time who knows what happened because there's a lot of luck that goes into football and people kind of knew what Romo was, and, you know, for at least half of twenty sixteen people going who is this guy, what is he doing? How is he getting such a high completion rate? And what did he do? He just what Dak did is he tried to fit in to an often? He he kind of knew how to run. And he said, okay, I'm just going to I'm just going to try not to make mistakes. Yeah. And he tried to do his rookie season. He did a good job of not making. Stakes which was kind of exactly what Scotland a hand wanted. The trouble is Scott Lenihan kind of always stayed the same. And now Dak Prescott, I think has grown beyond that. So something had to change. Yeah. Well, I ask you another question sidebar Dak Prescott what do you think of our good buddy OCC's posts that deck Prescott pretty much owns the NFC east? He doesn't. No, I mean, it's just it's just kind of funny. It's like that we sit here and we listened to Twitter arguments all day, long and see all these other social media arguments about other quarterbacks in the NFC east. But if you look at it Dak Prescott is destroying the NFC east every time he plays he's winning. He's in most cities NFL cities if they had Dak Prescott as a quarterback, they would be pumping him up and talking about how great is, you know what I thought about Dak in that situation like most cities, you know what a good like city, the Dak Prescott would fit in well, with is Pittsburgh, Lord, yet they would they would love him. First off, he's got that hard nose style. I'm going to get the first down that they would love, but you talking about third and fifteen in Seattle, that would have just like if that was the Pittsburgh Steelers and he did that for them. I mean he would be they would have a statue of him. I have a statue, but they. Have a mural up already? Yeah. Exactly. And not the murals that we kinda see about Dak Prescott Dallas less right? Ridiculousness. Yeah. So that was my, what if it was, it was something that, that should never have happened as a as I mentioned. And at the end of the article, if somebody had propose this as fiction, everybody would say, like nobody will believe that is too ridiculous. Yeah, but you go back and you think about, it's like Tony Romo was the big. What if to what if Tony Romo, what of Quincy Carter had never gotten cut, you know, Tony was on his way out. So, and then you and you talk about how interesting that was that Tony Romo ends up. He's on his way out to being a guy that they have to keep because they have to get through the preseason similar to that Prescott Dagmara Scott was rookie that they were trying to bring along. And they didn't have any opportunities after that. They didn't have any chances to say, let's, let's put this guy on the bench. Let's put it behind Tony Romo. Let's put it behind Kellen Moore. Let's see what he can do. They. They had to play him because they didn't have anyone else..

"But. Go ahead. Yeah. I mean, I it's just sort of that situation. I mean, I don't I think what the terms of purely the ability to play the quarterback position. I Dag Prescott is far beyond where Blake Bortles wasn't as a quarterback. I think he burns a lot more to the table. I think he's much closer to become in the complete well rounded quarterback of areas that he needs to improve upon where seeing development in those areas, and I think money Cooper strangely enough. Interestingly enough was a huge part of that. I say Dak down the stretch was a much better quarterback than Dak at the beginning of the season last year. And so I think that you know, the I put the ball out there. More in the sense of the situation not one to one airs. But I understand look anytime you bring up like photos when you're talking to a fan of a team and talking about their quarterback. And you mentioned Blake Bortles their face turns in Erie, shade of green, usually because nobody. Wants to see their quarterback discuss to the same sentence as Blake Bortles or less. Lakewood was lost. Again, this time to player X. You know? No, it turns the shade of the old Jaguars homeless like the the mustard. Yeah. Yeah. But no, it feels like that just because you know, he's on a team with theoretically, great runner, although Leonard fournette is certainly not lived up to to those standards and integrate defense. And so he's kind of the bus driver there. I get it. So then let's put your old hat on Mark defend deck. What are his strengths then because people people act like he's worthless. Like, he's got nothing going on. They only want to criticize wanna compare Tony Romo and not just Tony Romo by two thousand fourteen Tony Romo which was him at his peak. "You'll finally see Dak unleashed as the runner. He can be because the playmaker on this team is not easy cularly the playmaker. Both throwing it and running. It is actually the quarterback because the quarterback will take over games with his legs. He closed the deal against Seattle because they were in a dark place. It was third and fourteen and they're only up three points to thirty three left in the Seattle playoff game at Gerry world. And I don't know if we have that handy, but I would love. To see this run again because they called the basic quarterback draw. And finally Lynn good vault. Add up up up up. No, you missed you. Missed you missed and look at that. You wanna talk about athletic this man weighs two hundred and forty five pounds and that was a bad play defensively. How do you let a guy rushed for that many yards? It was in that situation. I see that play my dream sometimes because I want to see more of that play in. You know, what skip says that you know, what I see in my dreams today on Instagram you went and you through your Dak Prescott jersey in the garbage and my hat and the arm and your and your deck Prescott jersey. They told me all I need to know. And what was it one hundred million dollars in the garbage Cantu? But what you do more like on Instagram was win two weeks later. I went and retrieved it out of the garbage. And then there was another point where I did another video where I actually ran into the kitchen, and I was ready to throw it in the garbage. But I heard oh, it's the Philly game. And I heard always doing that. I'm going to run back because I am a crazed fan. I'm completely psycho. My wife will you know, honesty. Now, she will be the first tell you. I'm outta my mind while they are playing I'm knee-jerk over emotional over reactionary. But when I step back and cool down and look at the big picture of Dak Prescott. I am completely sold on that Prescott. Because all he did from that the that team hit bottom that Monday night. I didn't see it coming Tennessee visited Jerry world. And it was the all-time Alice cowboy disaster the all time one of the all-time Cowboys glare. Glare. Mario Marcus mariota. Went eleven of fourteen on third down that night number Aikman. After that said this whole thing these to be blown up. Yeah. He that. He did. He said, it was I think basically dysfunctional, and yet I think a lot of people were saying it was dysfunctional at that point, including me. And yet Dak Prescott pulled it all back together. And remember Amari had just arrived that week before that night, and they went to Philly the next week, rob. And what happened that Prescott took over that game? Dak Prescott led them to yet. Another division tile. So he's won two of three years. He's won the division title. That's pretty good. When you say and all he did against Aaron Rodgers was throw for three hundred yards in that playoff game and three touchdowns. Did they know? But that was because of Mason crossbar who. Now, you blame him for losing the games this year and I credit him with pulling that game out with a fifty six yard field goal. And a fifty one yard field goal. Neither of which seem to have any shot at going over the crossbar, but they both did. And I don't know how they did. But the point is that Dak Prescott has played Aaron Rodgers three times. Go look up the numbers s Steve Owens in the break. Go look up these numbers because I can look at look at what he did Aaron Rodgers all three times out played him head to head. He outplayed the best thrower of the football ever. Just check it out. I'm sold. He's earned his money. I will be very content. I will never again throw away. My Dak Prescott jersey. At least he admits though, rob that he's a little bit crazy when he comes on. See also, you know. Tom Brady because on the outside. And rob you keep reminding us that people don't buy it. "Showdown in the NFL. The Cowboys visit the Texans Sunday night in a match up of two promising young QB's both deck Prescott and the shown Watson had incredible rookie seasons. But since then they've both struggled to live up to the hype Dak through for over two hundred guards last week for the first time since last season. Well, Watson is off to a one and three start has turned the ball over five times in four games, Shannon who's better Dak or to Sean. I would take Sean right now in probably for the foreseeable future to Sean averages. Two hundred sixty yards passing the game is to fifteen that number. If you were to factor in this season that desha over three hundred yards passing. Daggs on the two hundred. Yes, this is what I didn't know. The Shawn Watson almost out, rushes him per game. Two to one is thirty. Nine rush yards per game to twenty. I didn't know it was that big of a gap skill fault. Is that how about my play callers for what you brought it up? I'm just saying, what do I pound the table for every week on him? I just believe seeing to Sean play a. He grew up about thirty miles from where I lived in Gainesville, Georgia l. maybe forty. He the better tool of the football Dak Prescott he has Dak has a better running game better off into line. I just think in a passing league, the better passer, probably going to be the better of the quarterback and because I think the Shawn Watson better quarterback throwing the ball from the pocket, throwing the ball on the move. I would take Shawn Watson over Dak Prescott as my quarterback. So this is almost an impossible question for me because you know how much I love both of the and I was on the record ahead of a year ago draft. The Cleveland Browns are going to make a huge mistake if they don't take Shawn Watson and I still think they made a huge mistake as much as I like Baker Mayfield. But does Shawn Watson showed us in back to back national championship games? That's what you what he is, why you really like him? He ain't Nick Saint exactly. Put it on man is he threw for four or five in the first game they lost, but it was four touchdowns in that game. He ran twenty times for seventy three yards pretty good against Saint Nick's defense. And then in the one that they one threw for four hundred twenty yards three touchdowns and ran it for forty three more yards..

It was Dax fall, but he deserves a lot of the blame betas because again, he missed some throws that throw to the tight end could have been a difference in the hall. Gates still be running. If you just chose to run, he might still be Ryan. He might run all the way to Miami. But anyway, there was a third down play. The guy runs around. He sits down, dang, throws the ball men beat behind the thing, and they had early in the year. We talked about number one receivers Dax, say, this is what that Prescott said. It may. I don't know of any team in the league necessarily the number one receiver, it's all about getting the ball out, spreading the ball around and keeping defense on the toes. Let me tell you why you can't keep defense on your toes because they don't respect you. They respect veep Kellyanne. Okay. The only playmaker that you have team said, we're gonna take the one plate maker. Now, in sports, anthem protests were heading into the NFL season. We're wondering what what the policies are aren't going to be. Jerry Jones has made it very clear that if you're going to play for the Dallas Cowboys, you're gonna stand for that anthem and I don't believe he means standing for it in the locker room or hiding in the locker room. I think he means right out there on the sideline standing. And while that in and of itself, garnered a lot of reaction his quarterback that Prescott garnered even more when he came out and said, and I'm quoting here now read it to you. I never protester in the anthem and I don't think that's the time or the venue to do. So the game of football has always brought me such peace and I think it does the same for a lot of people. A lot of people playing the game. A lot of people watching. The game, a lot of people that have any impact of the game. So when you bring such a controversy to the stadium to the field to the game, it takes away. It takes away from that. It takes away from the joy and the love that football brings to a lot of people. So for me, I'm all about making a change making a difference. And I think this whole kneeling and all that was just about was was all about raising awareness. The fact that we're still talking about social injustice years later, and I think we've got to that point. I think we've proved and we know that their social injustice. So I'm up for taking a next step that whatever that step may be for action and not just kneeling. I've always believed in standing up for what I believe in, and that's what I'm going to continue to do for that statement. He has been vilified across the sports world across the social media world in many cases as a sell out, he was depicted on a mural in Dallas as the as a character from the film, get out with the gasping terrified. Look tears falling from his is the artists said. Yeah, you know, you look like the character and there was terrified. I don't know what do we make of the reaction to Dak Prescott sort of the other way here. Here's a rare high profile. African American athlete who was is saying, I'm not kneeling. I don't think it's appropriate. To protest during the end. He if he thinks they're, they're now Mitch, he's nuts. Okay. And I will defend every his right to say every word of what he said. I will defend his right to feel the way he feels. I don't think he should be demonized for feeling the way he does. I just think he's wrong. I think it is cockeyed narrative to say, oh, that's not the proper place. Descent is we've, we've gone over this a lot. Descent is as American as the flag that we're talking about here. And the song that is played before games. Descent is profoundly patriotic. It's pro finally American, and I would respectfully say to young Mr..
