The Angel's Landing Cult
"I think it's pretty safe to say when most of us think of angels whether or not you actually believe in them we see them symbols of peace and protection. I personally have never heard of anyone. Trying to use them to justify vile criminal and objectively morally repugnant actions. These i hadn't heard of that before. I'd heard about scumbag. Daniel perez cult leader tend to twist religious symbols and scripture to fit their own horrific narratives to serve their own selfish dark motives and daniel perez leader of a very small cult. Known as the angels landing cult was no exception. He twisted things. Further than most. perez is living proof that if he kissed the right people their lowest and most vulnerable points. You can get them to believe damn near anything. Peres comes across as maybe the laziest cult leader. We've covered so far. The least spiritually invested seems spent least amount of time studying religious teachings and for his laziness he was rewarded with over. Biden says the U.S. on "war footing" to beat the virus
"A moment like never seen before. This was a victorious moment in this presidency fifty days in giant legislative achievement. The president addresses the nation. But he begins with the sadness of what we've lost. He delivers optimism for where we can get to but cautions us about the fear we have to maintain of hold our own personal health In in a safe space a space as we move forward through this corona virus plague It was an amazing range of notes. That that he was delivering their All in this continued effort to keep his presidency on. Course keep us on course in dealing with this virus. Yeah that's right lawrence. I think You know i i. People underestimate joe biden at their peril. I think and i think that that is part of what this first fifty days of the administration has shown just as his campaign showed the same thing he comes. He has extraordinary He's not a politician. Who's he's a five tool player. He doesn't have all the skills but the skills he has and the temperament he has or just about perfect built for this moment and his mastery of the legislative process his personal experience everything that people understand about his acquaintance. His deep sad acquaintance with profound grief the empathy that's borne out in him. That's brought out in him and the fact that i think he understood something that donald trump never understood. Which was that. The country wants to be called to sacrifice. Wants this this notion of striking that tone again even now as it seems like victory is maybe incite with the crowbar by saying again that i want to have the country on a war footing. It was the one time in all of twenty twenty. The donald trump was did well on kobe for about three days when he said he wanted to be a wartime president. And i think biden understands that you cannot give up this fight too soon. That victory has to be total and that tempered measured cautious optimism and realism as he kept coming back again tonight telling people the truth even if the truth is not happy talk that that is the path and the path that will keep him where he is right now which is an extraordinary position of political strength.
How thoughts about food can raise blood sugar
"With food and how that impacts us but now we have actual study that shows. How much are Our perception of food actually impacts us and they did a study on it and which is really cool to kind of share. And so here. It is unreal unreal unreal application. Not just in theory. Not just through. clinical rinse. We've seen this through clinical experience at times but now they actually conducted a study that showed that your perception of whether or not a food is good or bad impacts you on a metabolic level. This isn't just like who he will eat like. This is literally this is how your body responds. And this is busy logical are now we have studied to back it up. So let's talk about it. I was shared this study. That we're going to talk about today through a colleague of mine and i was really excited when i saw it and i i kinda did that. Pres hands like hands. Raised thing when i saw it because it was in a group of other clinicians and a kind of felt like this moment of finally. There's the research backing our clinical experience when it comes to how our body responds to food when we have a perceived belief about that food and so this this study is really cool because The title of it. And i'm sure a gain you'll share it in the show since stock like with actual interested in research for those of you who are interested in finding out over on. But it's a really really cool study. But it's called glucose metabolism response to perceived sugar intake more than actual sugar intake. And if you've been following along if you're on being data's newsletter you may have seen a little bit of a theme recently around elimination diets. Because this time of year everyone seems to be trying to do. Some new protocol emerged. Just hashtag over it. You know like So we've been talking about this alarm we've been talking about. How are you know. We've been talking about the gut brain axis lot within our non diet community on facebook and sharing them about added about how in a very real way Our bodies Believe in around food impact us via our gut brain access right and we talk about it like a time when you have the butterflies because you're anxious about something it means you get like the bubbly guts and stuff like that and we've been talking about that a lot and And we've been talking about it from this almost kind of like a theoretical approach. You know like in theory. This is why this happens because This is what our body does is logically. And so we're applying to food and now what this study did which is brilliant and so great at someone created the structure in order to test us and then the results were in alignment with what has been. The belief fell out of people who have in this Wholehearted eating world. An integrator of you know kind of approach to eating kind of approach. Non diet approach things which show that. This would be the way to go and that. This kind of confirmed this lady around food actually lease to An impact for you on a biological level. And so that's what this all about so didn't you wanna get into kind of the basics of The yet. So wanna give a little bit of a primer science broken down so it's easy right so the study is called glucose metabolism response To perceive sugar intake more than actual sugar intake. So let's breakdown that title so we know what we're talking about so all sugars and carbohydrates which are sugars breakdown in the body into glucose so that they can be digested absorbed and utilized as energy or energy for later. Okay so that's the first word in the whole study right so glucose metabolism the way that all sugars and carbohydrates are broken down in the body the way that this happens response to perceived sugar intake which will explain so. This process is responding more intensely. Let's say to perceive sugar intake. So how much sugar you think. You're eating rather than the amount of sugar actually eating. So the point of this study was for these researchers to see whether our psychological response to the way that we think about food to eating certain foods impacts the physiological response to the whole body response in this case raising blood sugar because currently sugar consumption is the most widely accepted factor in explaining blood. Sugar fluctuation blood sugar highs and lows all that kind of stuff right so christina. Do you wanna talk a little bit more of how they tested it So this is

"Yeah it's definitely hard. Well. I appreciate your your call and I think you know one of the things that we're going to stay on top of the news behind this and what we're hearing and I think that. We're going to be getting some hopefully a spokesperson speaking out here soon because all we're going off of right now or tweets but They did put out the official statement. From the physician but I I. Love to know. I'd love to hear more details of the of symptoms because that would be the thing that I would like to to to know if there's if there are any symptoms with that but what's going on Cindy What's happening? Back in. Nineteen I had no clue I had it and so I we last census taste. Even let me had it. Don't they get out and people walking and Jack in the metro parks and we enjoyed our two weeks. was at a time when obviously nobody knew anything right? Correct. Yeah. We stayed at the drink tons of water and isn't it? Amazing? That's my cousin had that same symptom she had nothing nothing wrong with her nothing she felt totally fine and then she realized she wasn't tasting the food she was eating for breakfast one morning and she was like, Oh, I better go get tested and she tested positive. Why is it that I eat? So fast, I never taste the food either and I, that would be I know but that would be like honestly I think about this I actually I know this sounds like I'm joking I'm not joking I eat now and go. I tried to like see if I can taste it right away because of that same situation or even gum like that's the one thing I put gum in my mouth that has like a real spearmint. Flavor, to it 'cause I WANNA make sure I taste it I scared myself I. Honestly Thought Oh my Gosh. Do I have it and then I realized I'm just such a bad cook that I don't think I make has taste. But honestly joke but you don't joke though as far as sometimes. You don't know. That you have with everything that they're talking with symptoms. I. Have Felt every single symptom of this damn virus and anybody during this. Asthma is horrific. I, can't. Breathe Anyway Second Guess Myself, and then today I read the stupid story that says that people with high anxiety are more prone to get dementia and I'm like son of a bitch I I'm honestly going to stay away from the the news except for Shannon's dirty, which is coming up here in just a little bit. San Tall not the same thing I say not at the Fisher House. Fisher House I. Starting off this morning with big news here Shannon's going to have more details on this coming up in the dirty and just a little bit but. president trump. Announced that he has tested positive for corona virus. So has his. Wife the first lady Florida's and. It all came right after a big news story yesterday that the news broke. But wasn't released by the White House that hope Hicks one of the presidential advisers also tested positive she's been. On. Air Force One and traveling was even at the debate, the other night Yeah Right. Wow. That is fascinating. Vista President just announced. There's a big big story. This morning so What is going to happen what goes on this is where all the you know news get speculated because of we don't know yet we haven't heard anything from those guys other than just that that tweet a lot of questions. We don't know if he had any symptoms or a few symptomatic we don't know if Prez if vice president Mike Pence was tested. We don't know if the president be injecting bleach today there's a lot of things we don't. Hold on Damn to grab you deb Rela. It's getting stupid in here Mo jail. but. The interesting thing was I saw the news. Okay. Woke up to the alerts on the phone and then started reading all of the what ifs. What if what is because president trump is you know? High risk categories over seventy years old and. Then some people were saying, well, he's not in the hospital because he's at the. White. House. Because that's what the first lady said in her tweet that they're going to quarantine and the the. Same I would like to know. What? It's like to quarantine at the White House, but I would like to quarantine at the White House and. It'd be much better than quarantine knows. No, you know they say that places a dump I if you read all the People have written about like people who work there. Former presidents have said this President Obama said interview it's not he didn't call it dumping. But allow them say the place has been in such need of repair for decades, but they have like personal chefs in. Quarters when moving yeah. Yeah. They do help redecorate and they say you know, of course they have the staff at their Beck and call and Tell You I'll take that dump over my dump. What is but I would imagine like he probably would wanna fly to mar-a-lago or somewhere where it's like. That's true. Lavish. Excuse me. Mr One. ACT Of course, New Jersey. President Trump if he should become incapacitated according to the Daily News, they just shows the vice president can take over but they also reported a story and I don't know Viola report this and your dirty coming up. But they reported a story of the GOP could if something bad should happen, they still have time to actually put. Pens on the ballot for this which which honestly I it's amazing that they go even to that they. Ll speculate too. But well, that's what warriors who are leader is at all times you know I mean obviously he's not even ill to that I mean we saw yesterday so he's not at. A symptomatic at his age, he is in the high risk group. So you always have to what if I heard I was watching the CNN medical analysis analysts saying if they haven't already that they should put Nancy Pelosi in quarantine spike that's fake news and you know it because she's third in command you know in God because, yeah I don't have a heart attack by the way. Do they when you're in quarantine somebody that has had corona virus, you'll have to call us up and tell us if you've had to quarantine. Did you get to keep your phone with your twitter attached to it. 'cause that's all I wanNA know is that happened?.

Midnight Patriot, nation welcome to NFL. Mid Nitrates it is you boy spartan here with the the ever ever pot and flaming premix A good to have you as D to ultra. Sports nerds. In specifically football cards. On the end on the. Patriot staff. Phoenix tonight decided that we were actually GonNa do kind of a deep dive into what is pissing us off most about NFL and. Most pro sports in general to be quite honest. But we're GONNA focus on the NFL in this particular case because. Both Phoenix, myself have. A long history of both fandom and and. Playing Sports, we have a unique appreciation of what it takes. More it doesn't and how it is devolved into the into this shit show that it is. Just, we're just GONNA go from there. So Phoenix you had you had some thoughts that you wanted to start with go ahead. Well specifically. I I have a major gripe with the NFL in general. Being more politicized. And the. Let's End Racism. Okay, I get my left. Black lives matter. No sorry. They do and I agree with the message just not the manor which is being delivered. We've said that before on the organization go ahead. Exactly. All of a sudden you know we have a organization. That's Through much. Yup You can't do this. You know we have this. AFOREMENTIONED SCAMMED EMMA GOING ON. You can't do this. You can't do this. Well Yeah you can't. Okay. And then we have the social unrest of the nation being thrown into. A sporting. Venues. that. For All intents purposes let's call it. What is it's an escape. It allows us the viewer. Fan. That three four hours. Sunday evening Monday night whatever that. It gives us that escape from eager live love get up go to work and deal with people you come home you deal with cranky wife and kids don't listen dog that Shit's in your shoes. You've taken that away. And now have made it. Well we got to get on board with this. Well, we're relevant to. We're a large. Organization we goner? A multitude of platforms. That we have viewership. There any given? Day that we have competition So now we're going to. Paint messages in the end. We're going to have. Athletes will we're going to kneel to show solidarity. I got a huge problem with that and for our listeners I'm sure you have your own platforms as well. The American flag comes I stand for Gore country you back your country everything else second berry period. That's my thought on that. That's the way it is. Unfortunately when. The NFL NBA MLB hockey underwater basket weaving has become politicized in what we have to show solidarity with this. I have a question. Are you showing solidarity four? Message. Or are you As the NFL did let's put. The name of a known fell one on a helmet. Let's. Let's praise this guy because shot back when a an. Amplifier point in accused rapists. Is someone with a warning active warrants? For Rape Yes. So here in my eternal gripe with this, that will probably go down in flames just like the rest of them. Why are we? In fact. Standing behind. Someone. WHO BREAKS THE LAW? WHO does walk. Yes. They didn't listen. They got shot in the back whatever. House we say. Extenuating circumstances came to be that this ended up how that was. We have to stand behind this person as a form of. Instead of. Waiting, for all the facts that come out be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. And then move forward from there. Well. That's the real question. Isn't it is is you know? All we've seen is what has been allowed to be released. Okay I mean look I think in his thing I agree with everything you just said save one thing. Okay. I don't think demand deserve to be shot seven times point blank in the back now. Having said that. He has an active warrant for his arrest, what he should not have done to prevent that whole situation was to surrender. Get handcuffed and be taken into to engage whatever process there is. Okay, you don't fight cops in the street if you do. You mess with the bull, you get the horns. Okay. He's admitted he was armed. He's admitted he was going for a different arm- armament. Okay. And what do we expect the COPS to die? I don't think so you know I'm. In the eyes of them, that's probably what they're saying. Well. Preserved by life fuck yours. Well exactly. The COP Exactly and and my my attitude would be y is either one wrong as far as you know, one one has a duty to behave professionally the other has a duty to follow the law. Or face the consequences you know it would have saved him from getting shot in the back if he had stopped if he turned around if he'd Toronto. Surrendered Okay Understand that I understand the Warren has has since been vacated, but that's beside the point. When a COP's his I warrant for your arrest I mean you're supposed to do is say what am I being arrested for? Okay I'll go peacefully ears might whereas my lawyer yeah. Instead, of no fuck you fight you tooth and nail, and if get away up the war still there, but you don't have me. Right. Exactly. Exactly and you know I got I got I got a I. got a interject because you know. My personal opinion is if you probably agree Is this. Cancer of case. started. It may have it may have had other sources. Okay. But its primary. Protagonist, in growth factor was Colin. Kaepernick a few years ago and I don't say that in a flattering manner. Okay. I've said it before the my opinion that Colin Kaepernick is the biggest fraud on the planet as pertains to the NFL. At least Ryan leaves when he signed what Leash Langley, when he signed, he knew he was shit approved the wish she had any faded off politely into the sunset because he saw a gay. young just tell the story as I. Recall it and you you you feel free to chime in when you. When when you when you if I'm off base okay. A lot of people don't remember this but you and I as King's football and many things in life have a have a memory quite a bit longer than than your average goldfish. Okay? I remember watching the first incidents of Cabernet court on code kneeling and he wasn't fucking Neil. He had just had an argument with his with with the head coach and I don't think it was Kelly. It may have been horrible. But he had the yard, the head, the argument with Joe it was horrible wasn't horrible yet. So out of you probably saw the clip to you can't find it now because it's Youtube everywhere else. He had he had A. Verbal altercation with Harbhajan and I can only assume in what we were told. You know later was that harbaugh. told him. No you're not starting a colon Cabernet got very unprofessional and like the diva quarterback that he is. Turn Turnhill stomped over to the bench slammed his helmet down in plop disaster down on the bench now by sheer and toll coincidence. Anthem had just started. The anthem it just started when that HAP-. ACI. I know you remember this is I think you and I talked about this at the time that it happened because we were mocking him because when I weren't weren't quarterbacks when we played the game and we know what divas they are even princesses, they are this. If you remember and I know you do espn headlines a couple of days. Later words were that Colin Kaepernick was going to be fine. Substantially for multiple instances of unprofessional conduct conduct deleterious to the team. Leading up to the altercation with harbaugh that happened where he plops his ass on the bench you remember that ideas that. Dakhla and it was it was post practice I. Believe I want a That later that week that a reporter asked him. About the state of the fines and Based on his lip based on. Let's just call it what it was temper Tantrum. Okay. And that's when Cabernet sold all this bullshit about he was doing it in protest etcetera etcetera and he played the race card, which we all know the press eats up hook line and sinker and never ever questioned. Ever On. Me It came across and partner Jackie No, you're good. The the instance of which we are discussing out my first thought on that was yes it's a temper tantrum and I'm about to be busted for having a temper tantrum. So allow me to make up some juicy. To Garner more attention to the fact that. This is happening to be Gimme Gimme. GimMe and I lost my starting spot. Well, that's the that's the point I'm making. He played the race card to avoid fight. For on professional conduct and he was he was outright given a past. I don't think he ever actually even actually got find something that was overlooked too is that is that nick is not a person of color is really not us he is a multi-racial okay and part of that find that he was going to get for unprofessional conduct was calling somebody else on the field the N. Word back can't say here because quite frankly it's feds even and number two I don't WanNa get show you monetize but that said that was part of that that was part of the fine to be levied. The fine was vacated. Okay. Because he was successful, you successfully played the race card and got out. Okay and this whole shift started this snowball at that point. as we as we all know you know he was he was basically the the the face man for chip. Kelly's offense that you know while short term short term effective was absolutely not sustainable. Okay. We all know that. And you combine that with the fact that the guy had. Just over just under a shooting just over sixty percent for completion rate. Even in that offense at his best day, he was a mediocre quarterback surrounded by a bunch of very talented people. Okay. So now it has become the fact that you know this whole narrative has has escalated by people that that know nothing about the actual game because. Football is simple. It's not easy, but it's simple. Is. The ultimate meritocracy. Okay talent hard work equals success. Okay there's a lot of guys. We can probably point him out on the field you and I. There's a lot of guys that that. That just simply outworked their competition to get where they are I'll give you. I'll give you one prime example and right now they call him the goat Tom. De. Tom. Brady was drafted was I can remember he was drafted. He was I. Don't think he was Mr irrelevant. But he was real close. He was the very bottom. Yes. Six he was very close to the very end of end of the draft in and he is he outworked is is competition. Now granted drew bledsoe. If people can remember back set for was not a very good quarterback anyways. He was only borderline better than Ryan Leaf and he went down Tom Brady took over in the rest as they say district but. No? One ever questioned, Tom? Brady's work ethic in those dynasty years in in in New England. Okay. Because he outworked he, he worked his ass off. Yes he was talented. Yes. He's physically gifted but that plus hardwork dedication to his craft turned into in the in the the hardware for the hand so to speak. and. anyways back to my point about Cabernet. All, these people talking about how Catherine doesn't have a job because he's bad for business or half rights, they're only half rice. Now I posted this to the page I know you read you probably it is I. Think I read this week we went to this is from ESPN DOT COM itself. Okay. ESPN DOT. com. The actual date this was published as March twentieth two, thousand seventeen. By their staff writer Kevin Seaford. and. I am just going to read it. I'm. GonNa. I'M GONNA. Try to read the whole thing. I'm trying Doug only try to read the parts that are relevant. But those those listening. If you go to our face, a bitch facebook dot com slash midnight patriots. You'll be able to find this article and we shared it the title of it is calling Kabir Knicks based problem performance. Politics. Day It starts off real simple. So Don't over think why Colin Kaepernick is still a free age simply put years have passed since he was ineffective quarterback he's twenty nine years old has succeeded in an unsustainable scheme as part of a well populated group of former starters who also remain available at as this week began now getting that was march twenty, twenty, seventeen. So they were in free agents. Okay. Let's. Let's move on here. It's blamed Colin Kaepernick's unemployment on his protest is to misread the way NFL teams make personnel decisions. that. I don't think there's any more true statement on Earth. Do you I? MEAN THAT'S Yeah. So it goes on protests where does say at any type of business that if you have lackluster performance, did you are guaranteed two hundred million dollar job? Number One and two I was GONNA say there have been divas troublemakers in the NFL before? Okay and Kim's and? Lewis Terrell on. You know. List goes on and on. And let's not forget the NFL is the lead cut an outright banned ray rice running back from the Ravens for domestic violence. Okay. Before he was convicted. Suspended A. Peterson for disciplining his child. Yeah for banking hit saw. Yeah. Okay for spanking his own child. Okay. So now they put criminals names on their helmet. so by but I digress I digress let's get back to the article. Just to just to go just to go. Teams are swayed I by players potential or lack thereof to help them win protest or not kapernick would be under contract. Now, if he had demonstrable if he had played demonstrably better in recent years. Let's look closer at where capper nick is as a quarterback and why that has left him sitting in a group that also includes fellow free agents, Jay Cutler Josh mccown Ryan Fitzpatrick and Robert Griffin the third. Again keep in mind. This is from shelvin teachings of this is three years ago. Okay. But. It goes on to some of the reason I liked this 'cause this is based on facts not just you know a bunch of race baiting bullshit. Kapernick grid NFL success came as part of the San Francisco Forty niners read Options Skiing Twenty, twelve to twenty four. In those three years, he rushed for Fifteen, hundred, seventy, eight yards which okay. I will give credit that impressive gudgeon impressive number. For. More than any other quarterback with the exception of Rush Russell Wilson Cam Newton so let's just call it what it is. He was third rushing quarterback against. It breath. Okay. I will not fall the net. His. Success. He threw more than twice as many touchdown passes interceptions helped him compile eighth best time quarterback rating in the NFL seventy point to over that period. But even then capper nick was one of the lease most. Least Accurate quarterbacks is sixty point one completion percentage ranked twenty third in the NFL and has percentage of off target throws judged on video by espn stats and information ranked eighteen. So. Based on just the stats alone he was a middle of the pack quarterback middle of the pack. Does that mean that he's better than half the other guys absolutely does that mean that that you know the drama he brings? Outweighs his skills is still setting the money in the monetary investment probably. Okay I agree or disagree just on that statement there. I would agree that yeah, he's a middle of the road quarterback. He had some skill. At. That position. That offense. You're right. Would it work somewhere else probably not but that's Changing teams, you learned their offensive scheme you learn what they do best blend yourself into that and you become part of the team not a one man show. that. I, mean you'd have to agree that most had coaches that have half a brain would go sixty, four, sixty point one completion percentage. even if you're even if you're going to do A. A bootleg offense even if you're going to do a boot offense. Play I can. Still going to have to be better than sixty point one. Periods I mean just entered discussion. Quarter, you're talking college level quarterback. Even if you're on a naked, do either one side, you're still depending on receivers tied ends backs to be open at some point that you can actually say, Hey, he's opened easel bewitched of the two weevils need a cheese her who exactly exactly union able to identify and hit those targets or at least give your guys in a position to succeed you know. I'd like to. Bring to Light I. Not Very long after capital started his quest masqueraded by some of justice whatever you WANNA call it only because he got in my mind and correct me if I'm wrong, he got busted out period. That's just the way it is you through Tantrum he got his ass busted will now I gotta cover with this to cover that with this, and then all of a sudden we have one big lie that snowball into the entire solstice thing that's going on currently. You're. Going to look they had to go. He ended up in Washington. In front of US rest. Explaining his side of everything that goes on great. Denver Broncos of whom I am a fan. I it. Does not get into that because. Pirate about that right. That's ultimate digression. Go ahead, John. elway. It had in fact offer Catholic before your contract. said. Hey. COMPLA-. Can come down because it wasn't enough money. Wait a minute. Let's look at your stats a sixty sixty point something or other completion percentage. Yes. You had fifteen hundred yards rushing, which as we've discussed is pretty phenomenal quarterback save. Russell. Cam. Newton. Maybe rg three hundred healthy. That's stretching it buttle throw it in there. Anyway. I. Really. Wanted to see if capital could be plugged into that offense and sell. Well, that's the that's the real trick. Isn't it? I mean? End and let's be clear. He turned it down because the salary was too low, not the money. Or maybe remember correctly, he turned it down because John elway wanted to load the one at the loaded up with incentives and say, okay, you exceed this mark you get ex you this you get what we go to the playoffs and when you get Z. Experience Cetera so wasn't of excellent. Yeah. But exactly to perform at your very best as cut your in the NFL, they don't take ship nothing while the that's when the NFL stands for not for lofts. That and let's be honest. It was not only. Did he had he had to meet performance criteria he had to me behavior criteria, EXAC? elway and the broncos weren't going to stand for this s J. W. S. J. W. Crap. That he's pulling. So let's go back to the article real quick. It'll it'll. It'll really start driving the point home. Okay. So I believe he started kneeling rating was two fifteen. So. Article Goes On. The issues that we were just talking about the increasing. Or decreasing completion percentage decreasing accuracy except sets. Those issues intensified in Twenty fifteen and twenty sixteen amid forty nine ers. Coaching turmoil in talent drain since the start of the twenty fifth season Kapernick ranks get this. Last in the NFL thirty five all five passers in off target percentage is off target twenty, two point six percent of the time which when she is the least accurate quarterback in the. League. As of the twenty. Fifteen. It goes on. Is Complete. Complete is completion percentage ranks number thirty, two at fifty, nine point one. He was still one of the NFL's most productive Shink quarterbacks, ranking number four total yardage over all those years but it didn't mitigate his passing deterioration and this is in my mind. This is the absolute most important line in the yard or ear and an adult. There is no more important attribute for quarterback accuracy especially for a free agent who is shopping himself teams with various schemes. In, the long term a quarterbacks running ability is considered a complimentary skill and one that is story. Fade with age or because of injuries, scrambling ability and arms drank are secondary to whether you can hit the target. That analysis backed up by numbers essentially wreck stay shit out of this current narrative will Cohen Governor never draw. Back. Dinners. Any beds no sorry. Have a fucking job because he sucks. Sex At what he does also, there's a theory going around the going around that it was right about twenty, nine, hundred he met his I don't know if she's still has girlfriend whatever evidently these ideas about radical justice one I'd ever definitely his girlfriend is, is some sort of radical s j w as well, and he was too stupid to either a lever to the side or be not listen door and just agree to disagree on stuff but then again. Go ahead exactly what it is. Power Pussy with exactly exactly and you quite frankly I can't fault them for that because you know that's ninety percent of marriages happen. We'll just we'll just leave at this point. Is that right there? That's You were saying regarding his ability to suck. But it started then I mean he the guy the guy got lazy. He got loud. Through the race card to cover his shit then he couldn't back up his mouth with performance. You know do you your ears? Rocco's fat okay. Let's talk about just a second. Let's talk about Shannon Sharpe just for ten seconds or for a few seconds. Okay. Shannon Sharpe. Is An arrogant prick agree or disagree now When I hang on, hang on that said. Shannon Sharpe liked to run his mouth about a lot of stuff at a lot of different times also true. Yes. Yes. Shannon Sharpe never failed toback his mouth up with his physical actions on field. Also. True. Unless I'm Clinton mistake, it have you seen the. I know he's A. He's a beast. His and by that, I, mean his physique and his skill level we're just unprecedented but you know I do I think running your mouth there's unprofessional Mind that you buy then back it up on the field nut so much. I mean. Go ahead. If I if I remember correctly now, remember this because there is significant events happened in my life sixteen nineteen. broncos are in the midst of the run to Super Bowl thirty two. Tonight game. In Kansas City in Kansas. City. I can remember. Watching a few days later because of recovering from surgery on. Shannon. Sharpe was literally being drug halfway across the field for most of the game by his helmet because he was talking some serious Shit Oh. Yeah. I. Remember Correctly Dr Thomas. If. If I get an incorrect Thomas Yeah. So. So pissed off the guy, he knocking, Kane insane composure in his professionalism in the game. You got what? I think. Say He lit it up. He was like Yeah. That's ten to twelve for. The Gargantuan One, twenty, one, twenty, six, and what two touchdowns. Yeah he was a month. So. All of a sudden sanders our. Love the Guy I've actually met him. Helvin individual. Love Tall. But he can copious amounts of Shit Oh. Yeah. Oh yeah that that man can back his mouth up. Oh Yeah. We have an and. He. End Let's let's break that down from an NFL perspective. So I'm a personnel manager. Okay and I have Shannon Sharpe as a free agent. His name comes across the wire I go holy Fuck Ball sharps available, and I already know that a he's allowed mouth be he likes to talk shit and sees extremely opinionated man but D-. The Guy Backs should have on the field I picked up the phone. I pick up the phone and say Hello Mr Shannon. Trump's lawyer her agent. This is me at the I would like to pay your your plant, a lot of money obscene amount of money to come help us when football game sets. Ended up with the. Exactly for whatever he was with the Ravens what three years. Say but he wanted them for four super bowl with their to. The argument that Colin Kaepernick doesn't have a job because Hashtag grace is complete an utter bullshit. Bullshit and the the fact that Roger Goodell has bought into this Shit Hook Line and sinker is even worse. Okay. You would think that that to be the commissioner of of a National League or National Professional Sports League that race in what eight to ten billion dollars. A year in gross revenue. You have. You'd have to have an IQ above your shoe size. Goodell even that these people that that they're they're professing to support. Social Justice. Wise. He realized that the vast majority of them do not watch the Games couldn't tell you five players in the league and doesn't even know couldn't name five teams lot I mean. She probably I mean. Look at some of the fan base. Did Not tell you the difference three, four, three defense. Yeah don't try to get him to describe the Tampa to. Exactly or various offensive formation. You're the simultaneous simultaneous possession roll which you and I can quote by heart understand completely. Exactly. Our guys we've got another segment coming up right after this brief break. Stay tuned. Midnight Patriot nations spartan with a shameless plug for our new gear shop shop. Dot. MIDNIGHT PATRIOTS DOT COM. T shirts, hats, hoodies, mugs, phone cases, and just about everything else in between we got you covered whether you're looking to embrace your insomnia, show your patriotism or make a liberals headaches blowed. Really, Shop Dot Midnight Patriots, Dot Com, and now back to the show. You know that's that said. I made a prediction in in midnight moment the last night moment and I want to run around wanted to run that by. Not. Only understand that the business portion of the of the game, but also the game itself. So this is going to the business portion now. One. Of the things that you and I both know is that owners very rarely. SAY WHAT THEY THINK Or say or reveal their plans in advance. Okay. I've noticed that the owners have remained. Suspiciously quiet. About the social justice campaign that's currently going on I do disagree with that. I mean like I said, I think Jerry Jones is really the only one that's actually made any sort of statement and it wasn't a very long. I ever Jones ever quiet. What that's that's my point. And say instead of instead of. Me thinks he protests too much. Me think she says nothing for more sinister Okay so I wanted to run this by this is my theory. Okay. Now we've confirmed the the the Monday night compal atrocity from last night. US. Or Susani from two nights ago that. We've confirmed that the viewership was down approximately twenty nine percent. Across the board in that double header. So if we take the two games Monday and the overall ratings of of being down for Sunday you're talking an average of of a twenty percent downer. It's one fifth of the audience of the television audience told the NFL the PISS off. Okay. Considering the the significant financial investment ESPN has for for the right. To. Monday night football. Let's just let's just call that loss unsustainable. Okay. So I am going to ask you to engage your owner brain for just a minute. Okay. So We're GONNA fast forward to the week after the Super Bowl's okay where things are notably notably quite Rosalie quiet. The coaching carousel began and things like that since. Day. Except that, there's going to be a rumor. Going to be a rumor. That the NFL that the owners are considering locking out the players because they want to renegotiate the contracts. And this will come as a surprise to dumb asses in the AT ESPN released. They're going to feign surprise. Okay. And we're going to start hearing things like while the coaches are not gonNa make anymore are putting hiring decisions are the owners are going to. Put a hiring decisions on pause for just We're going to review a few things and Blah Blah Blah. While then we're going to get to Russia's started free agency. And we'RE GONNA. Find out and it's probably going to be one of the one of the What's The guy's name? Remember his name. One of the reporters Schefter Adam schefter because he always breaks up he's. Probably. GonNa be schefter becomes. We have confirmed reports, the owners who are going to lock out the players affected nine am tomorrow or whatever. Okay. Now what's going to end up happening is this. The overall I would say, the overall revenue is going to decline somewhere in the area of twenty percent across the before the Lee across the. Across the season. Okay. Now again does just a prediction it might be higher. I hope it's higher until they stop dish this personally but. This is what's going to happen. You're going to get a massive ratings ratings cut. Even in the Super Bowl. Which means revenue is going to be down roughly thirty percents. Okay. What they're gonNA say is this is an unprecedented drop in revenue and the the losses are unsustainable. They're going to have to renegotiate the contracts. The players are GONNA have to take less money and this time the the ownership is going to be able to show concrete. The because of the drop in television revenue in Jersey sales and everything else. That they're going to have to renegotiate the contract. They're going to vote on removing Goodell as the commission. You're actually they're gonNA, they're gonNA end up forcing him out but the way it's GonNa play out this players are to get locked out. There's going to be a review of the deal of the of the current Labor Labor Agreement. The new agreement is GONNA. Have a significantly lower. Revenue Pool total that that the players are going to get. And they're going to have conduct they're going to have enhanced conduct policy which include the jewel stand for the national anthem. You will not hiding locker room for it. And you're going to we're going to not endorse anyone as far as any sort of political failure, your ideology on the field, and if you do not only will your contract be terminated but you'll be you'll be on the breadline by your suspended for a year. Now maybe the suspended for year won't come to pass but. Engage your own our brain for just a second and then look at the strike years that came up and you tell me how how how. Or how far I'll fight on that. Will. Allow me to. Dive into this plan I mean. Here we go. I am an owner of a NFL team. Meaning I have had to. Put Out. Let's use an arbitrary figure five hundred million dollars cash right upfront. Chooses five hundred. Half a billion. Cool. I'm. Glad. Yeah. Five hundred million dollars up front in order to gain my team have somewhere to play. The voted on passed and approved by the NFL. As either an expansion team whatever then. To, Cherry pick the other teams around here so I can build my team. In hopes that a I get a return on investment. That said if I'm going to dump five, hundred, million dollars out. A team equipment place play contracts that are stretched for X. number of years. This mice guaranteed this much at a signing bonus this much. Not. including the money paid to the team from the NFL for reaching a wildcard round, a divisional round championship round, and ultimately the Super Bowl. There are incentives paid to the teams by the NFL for attaining postseason plum. Yeah So that said with everything that goes on here. Currently we're martyring. Convicted felons we are. Using the NFL. As a soapbox. As an owner. would. Say? Okay. I can understand. The Point I understand where you're coming from I understand yes. Shit doesn't like this doesn't need to happen. It does there's nothing I can physically do about it personally except point out to you that you're not them. You are a multimillionaire more working your way to that point because of your talent, your skill and your ability play the game price. You as a athlete. well-fed well trained. Best shape, your ever loving life you have a house bigger than anything you've ever grew up in, you've got cars for days all these other things but. You need to remember that you are entertainer You're not a politician. So, that said. When to go into your point? After the Super Bowl. Until they actually have one right. That two weeks later, when everything's died down in the in the winter sprayed is over and losers or duck griping and the coaches players have made their way to their respective all. Wherever. That may be they're probably their private castles. Yes don't don't live in a castle guarded by you know dogs bigger than. Most people's. Cars. Were we will probably see as you said. Well you know revenue was down. Because of viewership is down across the board anywhere between currently twenty twenty, two percent to encroaching upon thirty percent. For Games you know TV, rights merchandise sales are going to be down. People are actively boycotting across those media and they're actually making their voice known by not watching. All of a sudden if we were to take thirty two current teams. And we look at. All the owners in this how much money they have? Now if we were to take thirty percent of total investment apart. As a conglomerate figure. We're talking a loss of probably and I would strong. Guess. Somewhere in the neighborhood of anywhere between two and two point, five, billion dollars while even go you want all you can go one better I think since the economy has basically picked up I mean you gotta remember the day to ten billion was during the Obama Konami which was one of the worst economies history. Okay. So that said you gotta figure that now it's probably going to be between ten and twelve. So if you have a twenty percent revenue law, if you have a almost thirty percent, you're talking about three billion dollars. That's a three billion dollar loss. So even if even if you spread that across thirty two teams, you're talking about what? Three hundred, million dollar loss per franchised. and. So and a lot of the smaller market. Good. So again, as an owner with Joan, arbitrary figure of five, hundred, million dollars starting I just lost seventy five percent of your or yeah of my revenue that I put into have an NFL team. Well, exactly. Well Number One and number two what anybody thinks that now? Okay. We all understand the cats at the revenue sharing For Those of us that are initiated, understand understand the the the reason for revenue. Okay. That's that's a given. Okay. Even still a thirty percent cut to that revenue devastates small-market teams devastate. Okay that's. Cleveland Cleveland Cambe that's Detroit. Well, I think Detroit is a bit bigger, but I catch meaning. into. Jacksonville. Flow? Buffalo Alright. That unders. Anyway. They're too big but no I hear you here's here's here's the thing the smaller market teams are going to move may if this continues maybe on the verge of bankruptcy and and if you really don't think that the NFL owners will lock out the players to avoid that. I just think everybody's so naive that they shouldn't even be a football fan you can. Football I in my opinion, these played the players and Adele are cutting the owners throats and I don't think the owners appreciate it number one and number two I. Think the owners are more in touch with their demographic their fan base style people want to believe i. don't say that they like their fan base because obviously as the executive class billionaires general ended the tend to hate working people or at least have a disdain for them. Okay. But the point being is that it's unsustainable model for them to go forward to continue this crap. Of K, it's it's absolutely ludicrous. So I think about beat that horse to death did you have anything to add on just on that? Final thought regarding that as an owner is a businessman I yeah exactly. Exactly. His businesses to? Yes he owns the team but as a business owner, you're always looking to. CRUISER BOTTLE BLONDE Increase but also you know they've got, they've got a commitment. You know what I mean I mean the bottom line is there are associated with raising revenue to pay Patrick mahomes half a billion dollars over the next. Seven years. Of. The point the point is this is that there are costs associated developing that revenue and win the players behavior or when when the when the the players union in the League encourages behavior that is deleterious to to that mission. Then what are the owners supposed to do? Gordon exactly. They locked the doors take resigning before we open this and then players you're GONNA WE'RE GONNA have to do a big restructure here. Sorry. You know this is this is not you? Not You know you're not this side of the world you guys are on the upper echelon. Of money you have succeeded in. On yourself up by your bootstrap for lack of terminology, you have made it playing a game that you love passion for three enforce your point duty not only are they a privileged class? Okay. Let I verified this I verify this last night. I made a statement that that. The NFL, the people on the NFL minimum as in rookies that that you know what we're undrafted free agents, right that are somehow made the squad, which is more powerful MAZAFA. A No experience. Rookie. Signed as a free agent this year in the League makes a minimum of six hundred, thousand dollars. Six hundred, ten, thousand dollars I then went to the Department of Labor's website guess what the average household income for Americans is as twenty twenty. Sixty, one, thousand, three, hundred. Yes. They working person would take ten eleven years to make. They're making six months show and this is not this is not an insult. I'm only going to use the label for for effect. Hacks in the NFL make ten times. The average working family does and they dare fucking lecture us about what our values should be faulk them. Big F what. Exactly. With a with capitalize all letters with with several exclamation points at the end. So that said I. Underlined and and I tell us is never. That's that said, I I wanNA give credit where it's due also understand that you know. What did I just go off on the NFL to you know to to to the end up with surprise we'll tell you why because You know even in the worst of situations, even even in the darkest night, there are rays of sunshine out gather are rays of light and I want to heap praise on two particular players, and these are the only two players. That I'm aware of have done this if any of you out there. Needed to midnight Patriot nation are aware of more please let us know. So we can give them their just desserts in their props. I want to give particular a credit to a hundred in the way of of the of the Pittsburgh steelers. Mr Villanueva is a former army ranger That said he made a big splash stirred shit storm by doing the right thing. I'm not going to get into the to the criminal that that the that the steelers. We're trying to honor Norma GonNa try to justify it didn't happen there but. Mr Vienna wave. Did something very classy He caped over the criminals name and he chose to honor sergeant first class all when cash. Now I believe I'm saying that correctly cut me some slack by brute if I if I. A brutalized his name that is not the intention. To say how I believe it's spelled. But sergeant first, class all, when. Cash. who was killed in Afghanistan? And I I, WANNA. I WANNA take. The chance to really You know he preys on on Mr Villain away for for going against the grain and for honoring in a true fallen hero on instead of instead of the criminal. So. Well on on that. The next one and probably the biggest honors of the latest give to the Jaguars tight tyler effort. I think I'm saying his name correctly also I don't think it's effort at the. But again, please forgive me if I've Jaguars fans if wrecked his name to. That being said that were I for also You know went against the grain he chose to honor the life of David Dorn David Dorn for those of you that that don't know was retired police officer. I believe it was Saint Louis. He. police chief Sir about that. He was retired police chief and he. was acting on behalf of a friend to go and check is Friends Pawn Shop. And he was gunned down he was killed Doing doing that by a felon in possession of firearm each shot this this legitimate euro From behind in the back of the head, which was incredibly cowardly act. ADORNS widow. was featured at the Republican National Convention. So those be the she told the heart wrenching story and As much as I am I gotTa tell you broaden orphee side, but he loved me misty. I was just her story about David's life was very touching and the impact on her family were simply crush. So I wanNA other drove I drove home the point. Your choice exact life exactly as what makes you? Exactly you know people people come from from bad situations and rise to great heights in as far as I know. This is the only country in the world that that can happen. Where you can make what you want of your own life. Okay. The biggest prison that we have in this country, the prison in our own minds. So A. Big Praise to do Mr Bean away and Mr for will done. I still have the continue my. My boycott because of my standards but you gentlemen have shown that there is a a ray of light in darkness. So Phoenix where you have anything to add or have we beat this to death. By by Pres for. There are people in the NFL that are serving of. Respect for me for one. Not because of their wallet or their house or their cars. But they chose stand for the national anthem. As. SOMEONE WHO Leaves in their country. Leaves in the American dream all though little hard to attain sometimes. The anthem regardless of anybody's political stance. The gentleman across the nation. And the NFL NBA MLB. I stand with you guys choose to stand in honour your country. That is. The way it is your will said. Anybody else wants that is your choice. I. Respect your choice I don't like it but I do respect it. But I stand with the gentleman who chooses stanton honor the country, the greatest country on this earth. Gives them every opportunity to excel in anything that they choose to? Like professional football or professional athletics exactly. I think it. I think it's worth mentioning here. I know we said we beat the source of, but I wanNA bring up another topic to. Weird Midnight Patriots all of us. May disagree with with what someone says, but we would fight to our desk to protect their their right to say those words. That being said I think one of the other things that the public is piss pot tired of is the privileged wealthy assholes. Being able to have different sets of rules at their workplace than we do. In the Corporate World in William and most smaller companies you do not have. You do not have freedom of speech. Okay. You will be shown the door if you bring up politics religion, etc etc. Okay. With social justice causes or otherwise. They can show you the door. Okay and I don't think I don't think it's Ok these. Use Their their platform on the field or in any way while a uniform to promote their agenda. Okay. Now, I think you and I would agree with this if the NFL Players Association wants to get together and host either a live event or televised event. when they are not playing and they're out of uniform. And they want to tackle these issues donate money to causes give away money whatever I think that would be a perfectly acceptable display. That's fine. Okay. But I think the reason they don't is they know that the cause is a loser. Okay. They're not willing to risk their own money you know to they're not willing to put their money with their mouths are in order to have their protests but but you know somehow everybody else should just shut up and and honor was they're trying to do and I think that that is excellent. You know policy at its finest end. America's PISS POT tired of turning channel I. think that's a big factor as well. As your thoughts unfortunately mean here to. Drive your point. I could see. Getting together having one big party fundraiser l. have running toe board. Hey, you know we're raising all this money great or even several. Yeah Go. But the reason but the reason they're doing it on television is because they can reach a mass audience all at once. But. They haven't had. They had the NFL network. If. The shows a winner, they could sell it to their to their allies in the media. WHO's to say ESPN would cover it. You know for God's sake ESPN has the SP one of the worst ward Joe's ever. Okay and if they want to go up to that into a social justice show fine. Go right ahead or create when like it again. Fine. Or if you know even Amazon or Netflix wants to pick up something about you know the S J W 'cause in the NFL an interview players follow players around their charitable work while they advance these causes grace go ahead I mean I think what they'll find his a there's no interest in be nobody cares they approach it that way that we far less backlash in their their incomes would be far safer than if they continue down this path. the ratings would actually come back to a more normal. That's where I'm talking about I. Mean there are only cutting their own throats by doing it the way they're doing it that that's all I have to say. So that's a wrap for this midnight. Mama we we went really long hopefully provided you get some insights, maybe some food for thought. Ob Spartan in Im with Phoenix, and we're just reminding you one last time in forever. After we opened school and we met together and as attain. We did our contact tracing and because I felt like we had some really good protocols in place we really didn't the exposure was very limited and the second time it happened was last week and again I feel like because of the protocols we have in place in the safeguards there was very little exposure Interesting that that you're doing your own contact trae saying as a school That's a that's obviously a smart thing to do given the problems we're seeing with contract tracing on kind of you know on the large scale. Bryan Texas you're facing a different timelines. Schools haven't opened yet in your district, but once they do they'll be required to have full person learning after the first eight weeks. I correct me if I'm wrong on that do you think that timeline will allow you to keep your students and teachers say It's a good question and it's one that I hope we don't have to contemplate obviously our preferences not to have a a set timeline but rather to allow a local school leaders in elected boards of trustees to make decisions about what safe for their students in their staff. So a it is concerning to us that we have kind of an arbitrary time line of eight weeks, and then whoever wants to be back in the building. Ganvie. Becky I. Knew Your district did stagger started with students coming in for in person classes I think only one day week, which means I, think he'd only have a twenty percent occupancy at any given time. How is that working out? What are the difficulties? That you're finding just for other educators who are out there. That's true. We have about we're a small district. We only have about twenty, two, hundred students system wide good part. We're all on one campus with four schools on one campus we did decide. For. An option our our students could also choose to do all online and to do virtual learning. So when we say we brought in twenty percent, it's a little bit less than that because of those virtual learning students who are already online, but we did we stagger. So students are in school one day a week, and then they do digital learning the next four days until they come back to their in person day and it's worked out very well for US I can say. Got Of great feedback from parents teachers from other from administrators It does create some difficulty and you touched on that a second ago parents. It creates a difficulty for parents and I understand that and we want to be sensitive to that. But at the same time we thought why with the pressure to open, this is the only way that we could open safely and that was our first priority, and if if I know with contact tracing if a classroom if the student has positive. What happens in terms of quarantining D- do does the teacher they were in touch with does that person have to then leave school does the classroom what happens? Well. Again, because we open with such small numbers, it's very easy for classes to social distance and so Alvar staff are required to wear masks all times. Our students are not required. They six through twelve. We have strongly suggested that they wear and then pre K. through five. We have suggested that they wear if they're going to be in close groups. However. It's been good because most all students are wearing mask as well. But again, a classroom if a student test positive. There may only be for their students in that class right and they've been distance, and so when you do the contact tracing, what we have found is that very few of them have been in close contact for ten minutes or more within six feet of one another, and so the exposure has been very limited and most of the time both have on mass. So they can continue come to school and the teachers continue coming to school. Even though they they've. Been in the area of of a student, but not for a prolonged time. That's correct. Now, the student that tests positive obviously would corentin for fourteen days. Okay and and then anyone else that we find that may have been in close contact with that person and may have some exposure. They would also contain for the fourteen days. Brian's Brian the guidance for Best Practices for schools has been a moving target of both federal and state levels of Texas Office of in a hot spot for the virus in recent weeks how has that changed your plans and preparations have? It's changed dramatically when we surveyed our families in early June, we had about three quarters who indicated they wanted to come back for in person learning than we sent the same survey out in mid-july that was down more like a third, and so it has altered plans dramatically unfortunately in Texas we've had constantly shifting state. As well, and so I don't honestly know which version of the plan were on at this point I lost track a long time ago. But the the prevalence of the viruses. Shifted our plans but I feel good that we got a good plan on. Nimble plan. Going forward, and we'll be able to serve families either in the building or in distance learning well O'Brian woods and becky stone I appreciate can't imagine how difficult it is to be an educator right now and not appreciate all you're doing. Thank you very much.
Rocket League is Going Free to Play! (And to the Epic Games Store)
"Rocket League is finally going to play. I'm dreams. Is The eastwards minute? Pres anybody sports network. It's about time after songs was acquired by epic Games in May of two nineteen, it seemed like rock league was poised to move to the free to play model. That was so successful fortnight. But while rocky introduced a similar item shop, the game still cost twenty bucks. It's not a lot. Compared to traditional sixty dollar cost bowed most battle rows free to play. It still posed a hurdle. On Tuesday south six announced the game going purely free to play, and would also be adding and support a creator coats for rockabilly content creators, this huge game as well bring renewed interest as people played around. The game will pick up the sticks once again. Both the good also comes a move off steam, which may be good, too, but I'm sure. A lot of gamers are totally stoked about it. This is a long time coming, but free rock league will only be available on the epic game store while steam as a sentimental home for gamers had called Tissue Valve. Product is still a good thing especially if it means, titles are going free to play when they show up on epic for people who paid for the game. Game like me three times. They'll get every deal. See Up to the point of going to play. I was always happy to support the game and I'm glad the player base will shoot up soon. In other rocket League News, the sports scene has gone through a lot of flux. Major organs left, but then liquid joined in with a revamped structure today, energy also announced an interesting new move that as far as I know is a first of its kind in east, sports. Shopping the naming rights to the Rocket League team. Trying to find a brand sponsor, likely an automotive company, one of the best teams of the game, energy recently signed cloud nine star squishy muffins to replace four time champion Turbo. Pulsa and Archie is looking for a multi year deal in the six figures annually. That's according to energy. "To help kids catch up on unless they make those kinds of investments that schools will make the heartbreaking decision. Unfortunately, too many places where we're seeing. Cases Skyrocket to have to stay close physically. Dr Win stance reason that if any kind of financial incentives offered, the schools are strapped for cash would be the first to open I mean. Aren't those schools also the very same? underserved communities they've been devastated by the virus already. Yeah, that's right. These financial incentives are completely backwards. You don't incentivize someone to reopen too soon and take a shortcut, because frankly we've seen what happens when we try to take shortcuts and bypass the science. It's what we're seeing right now. With all these searches that are happening over the country when we reopen too soon, there is a way for us to reopen safely, and that involves keeping the level of infection. Infection low in communities because you're just going to be able to reopen and keep covid out of schools, if in fact you have raging infections out of control in the community, and there are these interventions that Secretary Duncan mentioned, and that frankly that we have seen the CDC. Put out guidance on exactly how do this? We need to put in the hard work and not just have rhetoric and empty threats. and Sir Sir Duncan the CDC document that was obtained by The New York Times. I it was intended as a tool for the federal response. The virus it calls for the full reopening of schools and universities calls that. The highest risk for the spread of the Krona virus the full reopening. Squaring that with the messes that we've been hearing from the White House. I mean you can't square those those two things. What do you think is actually going to happen here? Well, what's happening is people aren't paying any attention to to president. Trump's blocked in bluster and threats and bullying you have is really thoughtful superintendents. University presence across the country figuring out what is safest, what is right for their faculty, their staff or the teachers for our children in their communities, in where they can open slowly, and gradually with some physical presence again the goal is not to reopen. Schools goes to keep them open. They will do that where it's impossible to do that. Where we see cases surging as Dr, win said whether it's in California, Florida whatever going to make the decisions they hate to make. They have no choice because we have not done what we need to do in March and April may June July to give our children a chance to go back to school in August and September. would. Do I mean do school superintendents have the power to keep a school closed or open, or is it or the governor of the state says I want the schools opened by this date? Do they have to open? No vesey route, so it'd be clear president trump has zero power here. Governors basically had zero power. What you have is local superintendents. Figuring out what is right? What is safe for children for teachers or parents or grandparents were custodians robust drivers for all the staff they are figuring out what is right and safe, and they are being so thoughtful. All devastating lack of leadership at the federal level I talked to superintendents across the country. They're being so thoughtful and careful about trying. Trying to do the right thing for people's health and safety educationally for students, social emotional needs as well, that would retraumatize kids if we open up everything and they have to close everything back down because we opened too early after two or three weeks. That'd be devastating. Let's do the slowly. It was trying to gradually in. If in communities we can reduce the number of cases than gradually, we can increase number students who have a chance to go to a physical school building. Dr Win Redfield from the CDC said last week sometime that not opening schools having kids stay at home would cause I'm not sure if he said as much damage or more damage than kids going to school, but the implication was basically that there's a high cost to having kids. Stay at home, and and that harms them. As well. He's right about that. Kids should be going to school me. I have young children. You you now do know that kids do need the not only the educational support at school, but there's so many other reasons for them to be in school to for many of the students in Baltimore that I served as an example, they dependent on the school for lunch. Eighty percent of students qualified for. For Free or reduced lunch school was also in many cases the place where they received healthcare, it was also their safe place to go one in four to one and five cases of domestic violence and sexual assault is diagnosed at school by teachers, so there are many reasons for schools to be open to, but you also have to remember that even though children are not the ones who. Who might get severely ill from corona buyers? Although some do get ill. They tend to get less ill. We're also talking about the family members that they're coming back to. We're also talking about stupid about the staff and teachers who make the infection and about the community being infected. If we have too many students going to school in an unsafe environment, and so that's why it's so important. Important that we put in the hard work right now, reduce the level of krona virus in the community in that window for intervention is actually closing, because it takes two to three weeks for us to see the impact of interventions, so we need to put it out work right now in urgently. Get the resources that secretary. Duncan mentioned from the federal government to really make a difference. Yeah and of course the White House is not calling for the one thing that we know works, which is everyone wear masks social distance. That I cannot reconcile that reopening, pushing for reopening without pushing for mask, wearing a social distancing Secretary Duncan. Appreciate your time, Dr Win as well just ahead is healthcare workers across the country do would they can do to help corona virus patients would have CNN. Investigation uncovers when it comes to the availability of mass and other personal protective equipment PPA still an issue. We'll have a report on that ahead. Early on pandemic, you may remember. There was widespread concern about the lack of personal protective equipment for those healthcare workers in the front lines, treating the victims of krona virus things like.

"Have a totally under control. One person coming in from China we have a very well under control We have very little problem in this country. At this moment we have it very much under control is this. Very interestingly. We've had. Therapy Corona virus which is. Very well under control in our country and everything is under control. I mean they're very very cool. They've done it and they've done it well. Everything's really under control. It's something that we have tremendous control of the crisis. Is being handled. We are likewise getting under control. So, if you're keeping score at home prisoner's cove in nineteen plan so far into This Day include denial deception, listen to the stock market, but not the virus or the CDC's guidelines or his coronavirus task force own guidelines when it comes to reopen the economy, which is now shutting back down again and the plan now includes pushing states do the same for schools as they did for their economies. And we hope that most schools are going to be open. People to make political stipends to do it for political reasons I think it's GonNa. Be Good for them politically, so they keep. The schools slows no way, so we're very much going to put pressure on. Governors and everybody else to open the schools to get them open. And it's very important. This is like Soviet spy doublespeak. The people hold WANNA keep. The schools closed because of the benefits politically what governor thinks it benefits them politically to keep. Public schools closed across their state. Parents angry kids angry parents suffering at their jobs because they can't go to work. Because of their kids are at home. Somebody has to take care of them. Who does that thinking it scores political points. The last time around the president look the other way. States disregarded CDC guidelines for reopening safely. He encouraged them to reopen and ignore his own task. Force guidelines this time for schools for America's kids and their teachers. He's trying to weaken the guidelines themselves. The? President said today. We just don't want the guidance to be too tough, and that's the reason why next week. CDC's going to be issuing a new set of tools. Yeah. We don't want it to be too tough guidelines. You don't want it. Scientific guidelines being too tough. You want you want you know you wanna you just some new tools. Plan for fighting the virus and saving lives would mean strengthening those tools weakening them, and the larger Senate would mean not showing contempt for the scientists craft in the guidelines, assessing the dangers and inform the Public Kaelin Collins tells us the president is GonNa, tend to coronavirus task force meeting since April not only that but Kaelin. Also reporting the president hasn't seen the nation's leading infectious disease Dr Anthony Voucher and a member of the white. House coronavirus task force in over five weeks hasn't briefed the president in two months. Why would that surprise? Anyone Dr Faustus well respected. He's an expert in the field. All those are negatives to this president. Prison doesn't WanNa hear what Dr Voucher things. They're completely at odds over the virus cheese too smart political to confront the president directly, but he does speak honestly when asked, don't take my word for watch. Done a great job whether it's ventilators or anything you WANNA. Look at as he country. When you compare us to other countries I, don't think you can say we're doing great I. Mean we're just not? We have some areas where we're putting out. The flames or the fires and that's working out well right now if you look at the number of. It's quite disturbing and we're setting records practically every day of new cases we test so many people that we have more cases. Everybody says we have so many cases. That's because we test so many people even though the numbers look good, and this is the thing that is a little bit concerning, say well, we now have thirty seven million tests have been performed when you get on the phone and talk to the people in the community, there are still lapses there with dots are not being connected by. People slow the testing down. Please to my knowledge. None of us have ever been told to slow down on testing. That just is a fact. In fact, we will be doing more testing while we do have is we have perhaps the lowest, but among the lowest, but perhaps the lowest mortality rate death rate. Anywhere in the world, it's a false narrative to take comfort in in a lower rate of death. We are going to be in two three or four weeks by the time we next week. I think we're going to be in very good shape. I would not be surprised if we go up to hundred thousand a day. If this does not turn around by think, we are in a good place I think it's important to tell you and the American public that I'm very concerned because it could get very bad. Ended has. Even in the days since he said that it's gotten worse, even as in states like Arizona doctors and nurses say they're running out of protective equipment four months in, and that is still a problem. We're still talking about personal protective equipment. Can you imagine that? In part, because there's still no federal effort to coordinate the purchase and distribution of supplies, four months end, there's no federal mandate unmask wearing or even the president support for statewide mandates. He's still flouting the guidelines, even as his own task force members implore, and in some cases actually beg people to wear masks. It is critical that we all take the personal responsibility to slow the transmission of Kobe nineteen and embrace the universal use of face coverings. There's no doubt that wearing masks protects you and gets you to be protected. We need to support mask-wearing when I'm not in uniform I wear them. They're white. They worked very effective and I think they're a great investment. For the American people, it is not an inconvenience. It's not as suppression of your freedom when you're outside and not have the capability of maintaining distance, you should wear a mask at all. Times face covering actually if an instrument of freedom for Americans. If we all use it where facial coverings were social, distancing is not possible cleave. please. please. Where a base covering when you go out in public. President you know said he just doesn't see himself. Wearing masks, not not presidential. Spray on mass to protect his vanity that important cornelius presidential now, but in the actual mass that would protect other people. That's a no-go. Mask. The president were massive Italy send a message to those foolish enough to still listen to him. A mask is the one thing that we can all do that. Science shows could save tens of thousands of lives, even if no other steps are taken just that just putting on a mask. Instead. The president's vanity is so extreme so that CNN is learned. The White House advisers who want him to do this one simple thing had been searching for venues where he has to wear a mass, so he can.

"Our next guest said he was quote absolutely considering a shelter in place order the mayor of New York City mayor. Bill de Blasio. He joins me now. Mayor de Blasio. Thanks so much for being with us. What is the most important thing You want people to know right now. Anderson. I'm trying to help. New Yorkers recognized that it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better and I definitely want to talk to you about that shelter in place idea which is basically the model you see in San Francisco but even beyond that What I'm really deeply concerned about is medical supplies and then beyond that even other basic supplies that people need in their lives but the medical supply situation Anderson. You're talking about ventilators. Surgical masks surgical gowns really basic stuff. That we're deeply concerned about where we're going to be in a few weeks. And here's the problem of the Federal Government is absent in this discussion right now. President trump at this point is the Herbert Hoover of his generation. There's a massive national crisis going on and he is consistently late and very marginal what he does. He's taking actions that are far far behind the curve and aren't addressing the core concerns and talking about a massive number cases we expect of Corona virus. Were almost a two two thousand cases now in New York City alone That's going to cause a surge into our hospitals. They are going to be using their supplies rapidly in an unprecedented manner. We've been appealing to the federal government to get us a resupply and president. Trump has not done anything to maximize the amount of supplies being produced and to ensure they're distributed where they're needed the most in the United States. So you've talked to the hospitals in New York City the healthcare system in New York City. And they're going to run out in a matter of weeks you're saying or be. There are some products. I'm worried about that. It could be as soon as that and looking at this surge. I mean Anderson you know. Yesterday we saw a jump of one hundred cases today we saw jump of hundreds of cases almost a doubling overnight over eighteen hundred now pushing two thousand cases in just this city. And we're this rate is just GONNA keep increasing. I talked to the head of our public health system. Dr Mitch Cats. He's got enough supplies for the immediate future. But you're talking about a massive surge in demand and we have been appealing constantly to the federal government to start a supply system that will actually help. Our hospitals survive unprecedented surge in cases. This is the problem. So hospitals have massive new demands and things like surgical mask. He just burned through those in a normal day let alone in an emergency you also The the shelter in place. What is the current thinking of that? I know you talked to Governor Cuomo about it. He You last night. He was indicating he doesn't think it works because other areas aren't doing it some people from here go somewhere. I want to answer that and Governor. Cuomo and I spoke a few hours ago Anderson. Just one more point on the supplies. Nah I just want to emphasize president trump has to mobilize the United States military to fully act in the corona virus. Situat- you on the military New York City setting javits center things like that. I want their medical teams which are first rate. I want their logistical support. I want their ability to get stuff from factories all over the country where needed most the only the only force in America couldn't do that effectively and quickly United States military and they're being sidelined right now by donald trump when he should be calling them to the front. This is the front right now. And you're not talking national. Are you talking? Us military? I am talking about the United States military going where they can save the most lives of Americans and that's places like New York Seattle and California and soon it's going to be a lot of other places. Why are they building a wall and wire that their bases when they're needed right now? I'm they're ready to go. The military's rate ago. The president needs to give the order. So she'll turn plays should should should people shelter in place. And what are you? GonNa make the best example Anderson in San Francisco right now and that area of California millions of people. That is a smart order. I urge every American to look at. What San Francisco's doing? I think that's where it's going to be going lot of us. It's very clear rules about staying home with only minimal activity get rid of all non essential work and again horrible human consequences in terms of people's livelihoods but necessary to slow down the growth of this disease. It's a smart plan. That's where think we should talk to the governor. A couple of hours ago he and I had a good conversation. We're going to have a further conversation. He is trying to think about the needs of the whole state and how to balance strategy. I respect that but I do think. We share urgency. And we're working together on a common approach to Blasios appreciate your time. Thank you thank you Anderson. Just ahead scenes like proved that not everyone is heating the guidance that very well could save lives. That's certainly not folks sheltering in place your questions about social distancing more about the corona virus to our medical experts when we return not.

5th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Light
"Welcome to Catholic musings for the fifth Sunday Day in ordinary time year. How light is used around? US has an incredible ability to control what we do and how we do it. For example supermarkets are increasingly using lighting zones in order to Oh maximize sales. The use of fluorescent lighting over vegetables. Apparently make some look fresher and more appealing warmer shades used in areas where the shop wants to drawl racine such as the entrance and the deli counter a Kula blue shade is supposed to encourage us to be more trusting and so is often used in in the pharmacy side of supermarket from the dim lights of a restaurant which may make us linger over a bottle of wine. Through to the use of bright lights for interrogation we can be manipulated. We can be encouraged. We can even be sued used by light. The Use of light is also a common theme in many religions engines and coaches from the Spring Lantern Festival in China through to the Jewish festival of Hanukkah also known as is the festival of lights at Hanukkah each night. There is the lighting of candles. Along with praise it celebrates the the miraculous burning of the lamps in the Temple for eight days when there was only enough oil for one day and light of course is also a central Motif in Christianity. Jesus cold himself the light of the world and in our Gospel Reading For this Sunday we are encouraged to be lights. Not The hiding are light under a Bushel but rather the setting it on a mountain where it cannot be hidden at the east of Israel. Trump impeachment: What you need to know about the Senate trial
"Today. The big news coming out of Washington should have been the presentation of the articles of impeachment. Went to the Senate. The swearing in the chief justice to preside over the trial and of senators to serve impartial. Justice list was eclipsed however by new revelations revelations about trump's efforts to pressure Ukraine policy. Well we've Geoffrey Howard professor of political science at UC L. to come in and bring us up to date with the fast moving eating events have US domestic politics. Thanks so much for joining us. Jeffrey set who is left Pon us and what does he said. So let's partners is an associate of Rudolph Giuliani. Most people remember. Rudy Giuliani as the mayor of New York City. During nine eleven many thought he would go down in American history as one of its most storied figures. Someone who inspired brought the city together but this is a very different Rudolph. Giuliani we see before us in twenty twenty. He is the personal lawyer to the president of the United United States and by all accounts spent the last couple of years going around the world doing the president's bidding doing the president's alleged dirty work and life partners ukrainian-american American is one of his associates. One of his henchmen some have put it Who It seems has been spending quite a bit of time in Ukraine meeting with Ukrainian officials playing playing a key role in trying to pressure The Ukrainian government to fabricator find dirt on Joe Biden which the president could then use to smear near him with if Joe Biden turns out to be his opponent in the upcoming general election? And he's given this this huge interview where he absolutely says that trump knew exactly what it was going on. How credible is he? Well I think he certainly deserves a good amount of skepticism. He is himself under indictment partly for participation in he's very allegedly nefarious activities But what he's saying is corroborated by everything else. We've learned over the past few months. So this trove of voicemail as mail messages and texts in calendar entries demonstrates that there has been a concerted effort by trump's associates by Rudolph Giuliani and and his men To try to pressure the Ukrainian government to cook up this investigation Into into the former vice president Joe Biden That the president has known about it all along that the Attorney General Bill Bar has known about it all along the so many people have suggested that well maybe rudy. Giuliani has been up to no good but maybe the top people in the White House weren't totally sure that he was doing all this. He was just doing it on his own initiative well of left parties right The president has known about this all along then absolutely vital and orchestrating it and some of the elements of this evidence are really striking. Some of them are are handwritten notes scrawled on sheets of paper from the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Vienna And they demonstrate that there was a wide range of tactics that were deployed by eh trump's or rudy Giuliani's men including left in Ukraine. It looks like there may have been in operation to Sir Vail then American ambassador acid to the Ukraine by Rudy Giuliani's own men. So I mean this really is the stuff of a of a movie plot. You really couldn't make it up and inevitably they will be a movie about about the We also heard yesterday that an independent nonpartisan office that works for Congress says the trump administration broke the law when it withheld held military assistance to Ukraine. So what has the Government Accountability Office said. Why does it matter so will it matter that is the question for the US Senate as we approached this This trial So the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office. It's a it's a national watchdog organization and it did indeed find that the decision to withhold military aid for Ukraine dangling over the government in exchange for a promise to look into a Abidin was indeed a violation of the law. Now as we know the president cannot be prosecuted as part of a traditional Legal investigation it. There is a special process. The founding fathers of the United States for better or worse put into place with respect to holding the president legally accountable and that is the the impeachment process. Which of course begins with the House of Representatives? The Lower Chamber of the Congress deciding whether to charge the president with a particular offense Which has done that is why he's been impeached? And then it goes to the Senate to decide Whether to convict him the offense and if they do convict him of the events he will be the I president. US history removed from office. And that is where we are now the opening formalities of the Senate trial of happened. We've had the swearing in of jurors as we know the Senate is controlled told by Donald Trump's party the Republicans will the jurors be impartial. Well that's the big question. We're learning to find out so A month ago Mitch. McConnell the the leader of the Republicans in the Senate said that he didn't intend to be an impartial juror and he emphasized that this is a political process And of course there's a sense of what she's he's right that it is a political process. This isn't a standard ordinary legal process. It is a a decision that the senators get to make for themselves. They get to ask themselves. Do we think that this conduct that the president has engaged in amounts to what the constitution refers to as high crimes in misdemeanors has the president by allegedly abusing. His power demonstrated that he is fundamentally unfit for office such that he ought to be removed. That is not a matter of showing that the president violated highlighted some particular law on the books. It's it is a political judgement but that doesn't mean it has to be a a a narrow minded self interested partisan judgment political judgments can still be moral judgments and so when the chief justice of the United States who very intriguingly to preside over. This whole process swore the senators in in yesterday He got them to swear that they would do impartial. Justice in this context with that means I would argue is that they need to Genuinely we look at the evidence. Look at the facts And that really goes to the question of whether this will be a fair trial because we do not know for sure yet whether there will actually be witnesses called or or whether it will be a very quick process where they have opening statements And then basically closing statements and then it ends because trump had originally said he wanted witnesses. Nice Nice seems to be tons of them. Well it's it's not exactly clear what the president wants here One thing we know for sure is that if the president if we do have witnesses in this process For example the former national security adviser of the United States John Bolton long celebrated and regarded as a very important vigour by Republicans but who is said to have referred to Rudy Giuliani's little inquiry in Ukraine as a as a drug deal that he didn't have anything apart a part of he has said that if he's subpoenaed he'll be willing to testify. No doubt if left parnassus subpoenas. He would testify Now it could be that some of the more. Moderate Republicans pins people like Susan Collins from Maine who are going to rely in their next reelection. On more moderate members of their state voting for them will want to be seen as not just in the tank for trump as somewhat more independently minded Someone like Mitt Romney. For example the senator from Utah also wants to be seen as an indeed is more independently hundley minded. They may well go with Democrats in supporting calling witnesses. You might even get more Republicans than that to support calling pulling witnesses. But then they'll perhaps want include witnesses. That don't seem to have much particularly to do with whether trump is guilty not such as Hunter Biden and so if we start seeing people like Hunter Biden called in this thing could degenerate into a circus quite quickly and I mean such a huge week ahead then for the US and not just for the Republicans for the Democrats. Not Because of course we have Iowa coming up on one of the unintended consequences of this. Trial is the fact that two senators who are also running for the Democratic nomination not table to get on that campaign trail so Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders both needing to be in Washington to actually be at this trial absolutely absolutely and so then. They're going to have to go so there. Of course the two most important ones given their rankings in the polls Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota also needs to participate cle Bennett a senator from Colorado running for president. I saw the other day. He's still running for Pres- wasn't aware that he was still in the race. He hasn't been in the limelight bat. Much of that's four senators that have to Interrupt their campaigns and go back and so might that given a slight edge to South Bend Indiana Mayor Pete Buddha judge and the former former vice president Joe Biden it probably will and just indulge me here in a in a best case justice doing its job no partisan interest Outcome where trump is simply judged on whether he broke the Laura or not and we know he did really How soon could he be gone? Well it could happen quite quickly. So the Clinton trial took just over a month. Um that was in nineteen ninety nine. The previous impeachment was the impeachment of Andrew Johnson in nineteen sixty eight and that took about two months So if you manage to get so there are fifty three Republicans in the Senate. They're forty five Democrats there to independence any two two thirds of the Senate to convict and remove the president from office. Which means you'd need to get the forty five Democrats which you'd get you get the to independence and then you need to get Twenty or so little more more than twenty Republicans To sign on as well and that seems extremely extremely unlikely Because you can get someone like Susan Collins who will be able to say. Well we broaden auden witnesses. We looked at all the evidence and we just decided he was bad with the president. Had but it didn't rise quite to the level of an offense such that we should remove him from office and that might be a way. She's able to save face but if for some reason the political winds change dramatically. Maybe John Bolton gives a dramatic testimony that shifts public opinion radically medically and you do get that twenty those twenty or so senators. Well then trump could be gone within a couple of months Jeffrey. I'm holding my breath. Thank you very much indeed. That's Jeffrey free. How it

"That were different story. Ninety eight who perjured himself. Who obstructed justice who tampered with witnesses and the Democrats said? It's all wrong. We don't like it but it's not impeachable. It's not saying it is exactly what you mean removed because we thought was not great. We lose our national security at risk guests. When I don't think I living? Donald trump put our national security risk. Because he did he does. In Barack Obama should be impeached gentle weapon. Barack Obama any weapons to Ukraine of holding. Back aid of weapons is an impeachable. Okay stories. I don't think we should not about Barack Obama but I will say this. Barack Obama made a policy decision which he felt was best for the country entry. What what president? Trump is alleged to have done here is effectively to sell the country out. And say do this for me to get my reelection and handed Taylor let me finish. Please ambassador Taylor today really made the point very strongly that this is about American national security because it is about doc or a lot more in the hour ahead and then there's another hour too coming up next and after that another Arab that CNN when Democrat was in on some key questioning today Kurzweil the earth is GonNa join us also tonight reaction from the White House and the president who says he was just too busy to watch the hearings but he's shirt.

"Bill Taylor the top EU diplomat in Ukraine. He testified today. State Department official George Kent and further say critics. The president were pleased. The president's defenders meantime sought to impugn the testimony relying largely in four key talking points at least one of which might go out the window given what what we learned today about that new witness. We'll talk about all of that. The president's reaction or more prefer CNN Sara Murray starts off with some of the key moments from the testimony today opening statements in the impeachment inquiry into Donald J trump the forty fifth president of the United States hearings big bombshell was dropped early in the proceedings by the top diplomat in Ukraine. Bill Taylor the member of my staff could hear president trump on the phone asking ambassador. Sunland about the investigations toll president trump the Ukrainians were ready to move forward. Following the call with President Trump member of my staff asked ambassadors on what the president trump thought about Ukraine. That's the song responded that President Trump cares more about the investigations of Biden which Giuliani was pressing for the disclosure does your ties president trump directly to the alleged pressure campaign against the Ukrainians and not through second or third hand accounts. Taylor also recounted. The trump was primarily merrily concerned with his own political prospects and recalled. I learning in July that money for Ukraine had been frozen and others set in astonishment and later later realizing not only a White House meeting but also the military aid was contingent on Ukraine carrying out the political investigations trump was demanding almond let said everything was dependent on such an announcement including security assistance. He said that President Trump wanted presents. Alinsky in a public box by making a public statement about ordering such investigations. He expressed alarm that Ukraine might publicly announced those investigations and the US still might not come through with the funds. My nightmare is that they the Ukrainians give the interview. And don't get the security assistance. The Russians love it and I quit and I was serious as the funding freeze continued. Taylor raise concerns again in early September. Best Song them tried to explain to me. The president trump is a businessman. Businessman is about to sign a check to someone who owes him something the businessman ask that person to pay up before signing the check Ukrainians did dot O.. President trump anything and holding up security assistance for domestic political gain was crazy the hearing featuring Taylor and top State Department official George. Ken was led by questions from lawmakers but also by the chief counsel for the Democratic majority and the Republican minority it was also peppered with partisan squabbling we will not permit the outing of the whistle blower and questions along those lines. Council will inform their clients not to respond to now. There is one witness one witness. That won't bring in front us. They won't bring in front of the American people that's the guy who started it. All the whistleblower nope well Democrats focused on the president's allegedly corrupt corrupt motives for withholding aid to Ukraine and the role Rudy. Giuliani played as a shadow diplomat. Was it normal to have a person who is a private citizen take an active role all in foreign diplomacy. I did not find his particular engagement normal no. GOP focus less on the president's conduct and more on the conduct of former former vice president. Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden who served on the board of BURRI SMA a Ukrainian energy company. The vice president's role was critically important. It was top OP cover to help us. Pursue our policy agenda okay but given Hunter Biden's role in Brisbane's board of directors at some point. You testified in your deposition a position that you express some concern to the vice president's office is that correct. That is correct can testify that he was concerned about a perceived conflict of interest. But he never saw any evidence of wrongdoing can also rejected the GOP theory that Joe Biden had Ukrainian prosecutor ousted to protect his son and Barista from being investigated Mr Credit. Are you familiar as you indicate your opening statement about these allegations related to Vice President Biden I am and to your knowledge is there. Any factual basis is to support those allegations none whatsoever. GOP lawmakers cast the witnesses as unreliable narrators with second hand information president. You didn't listen to President isn't trump's column presidencies. call either dot. You've never talked cheapest Apple Vani never did you never met the president. That's correct. Yeah three meetings again Alinsky. And it didn't come up and two of those they never heard about as far as I know. President there's no reason for. You never made an announcement this this is what I can't believe you're their star witness. You're there I witness let me just say that. I don't consider myself a star witness for anything they do. I don't I just I'm responding to. I'm I am responding to your questions as I think I was clear about. I'm not here to take one side or the other or to advocate. Any particular outcomes eleven restate that Murray reporting to career diplomats called on today to live up to the job title public servant. The question is did they and what was their contribution to what will will be a fact. Picture assembled from far more testimony including from this new witness on Friday. Join US now. Niazi Calmest Kirsten powers former Republican the presidential candidate in us. Senator Rick Santorum and former Obama. Communications Director Jen. PSAKI Sheehan Center Santorum thankfully or CNN. Political Commentators Jeff. I mean what was the standout to you was it. Taylor's revelation about this phone call that he was apparently informed of more recently absolutely because the one point that the Republicans made made over and over again and I think an effective point was that the two witnesses as learned as honorable as honest as they were did not have direct contact with Donald Trump. And this is after all an impeachment of the president of the United States if it is established the the president on the day after his notorious phone call with the pro with the president of Ukraine told Ambassador Sunland that investigations is what this were of out and if sunland than repeated immediately thereafter that the president cares only about investigations and not about Ukraine. That puts this story right on the president. As does the partial transcript of the phone. Call big picture here for today. Looking at this is someone who hasn't been following this if they to tuned in do you think they stuck through with. I don't know I don't know the answer that gets complicated. These stories as we always talk about tend to get bigger and smaller as you investigate. Somebody sadly have job but the real question is did everybody. People were expecting some sort of bombshell right but was was that kind of an impact. Let's just say that. These two witnesses in their demeanor are professional shnell diplomats. They're not bomb. Throwers so you're not going to get that then dismantle bombs that is exactly what they do but what we heard from from Taylor in his own quiet way was shocking news which does draw the line between the president and this policy and and I think we're going to have to hear from Samland. The story gets more and more interesting because don't forget ambassador for someone who by the way is the ambassador to the e U. So who knows why he's involved in this at all. He's the trump whisperer. He's the go-between in this big story between the diplomats and the Ukrainians trump fundraiser. That's why a political appointee. So he's the he's the whisper and he's the go-between and when he he is in a restaurant and on a telephone with the President United States by the way that's even everybody at the table is kind of listening and the president. Says you know I'm not interested. You know you've got to get them to mention the investigations or whatever it is. He hangs up the phone and says the presence more interested. In in the Biden's in Biden many is in Ukraine vats. A big story. No I well look. I think your spinning what what the testimony was raining festival innocent that he mentioned the investigation to solid. It didn't say I want a quid. Pro Quo didn't say any of that. All it says is I overheard heard him mentioned the investigation. And from that you take old. They're tying the two to go ahead. That is spinning. What about what Taylor said is that someone Onlin said is it? President trump cares more about the day what he thought by. They didn't say the president said would he lie about that. It's like everything else in this investigation. Asian it's someone's opinion of what they think the pre K.. Through if we take a step back for a second though I think ultimately the question is should the precedent B. that any president of the United States of either party is holding back assistance of military assistance or any kind in exchange for personal political game. That's the big question which Adam Adam Schiff kept bringing it back to and the question here with Sunland or whomever is involved as a firsthand person who viewed it as was this wrong and was this just a bunch of rogue actors actors around the world who are acting. That's not believe I think the problem that I think they're stuff we don't know the two were tied together. You have people who speculate the two are tied together. We don't know for a fact that that's that's the case. He was working on his there all day for the truth to investigation. That we don't know that we there's there's lots of speculation say you just. I don't understand I've read the transcript. The President I read the transcript. The president of Ukraine asked about the Javelin says. We're ready to buy them. We're ready to buy them first. Thing trump says you can do us a favor. He talked about what he talked about the two thousand sixteen election strike crowd strike Gary and then he goes off onto no and then he goes. What was the other thing is the bite? All due respect becky Anderson and then Zilenski talks. Everybody says oh he asked about the favor and then he asked about this no his Linski ask throughout the Lewinsky Alinsky talks and he brings up Giuliani he brings up trade and trump responds to that so then trump setting it up himself and the other author what is and the other thing that is part of the the the point. No it's not it's it's I want you to stuff alibaba Blah Blah Blah Blah. Are you saying the other. Are you saying everything else that he says in the conversation released to the one comment do me a favor. No do me a favor. And here's one thing and the other thing is that that's not what it's not rational person who if that's really what you're maintaining I mean I think it's ridiculous GEICO. I think it's very clear that the president what city that was very involved in this. It's it's in the readout. It's now been overheard in a phone. UNCALL- yes I believe that it's like but but really the idea that that he that he somehow didn't have anything to do with this. When we sat and listened to these is to career diplomats talk about how highly unusual and problematic? This kind of behavior was that they're sending a cable. Is the secretary. Lucian this issue. I don't think anybody on the Republican side would would would disagree that. This was not great behavior the program but it doesn't but but that doesn't mean he doesn't Eastman here but it doesn't mean he tied to military aid to the number is what did you want Zielinski to do he all and he said well I think any responsible person would launch a major investigation the Biden and we look the big picture for a minute. Let's take a brick that's different. Let's look at the big picture. You're down in the weeds here. Threaten a needle. What we are? Witnessing is the construction of evidence about a conspiracy to undermine our electoral process through the intervention of a foreign power are and that conspiracy. Today was a great day for the truth. We don't know where this is going to go. We don't what is clear is there's a different dynamic out there. As as evidenced by the Republicans Response Senators are taking. You talk to them. They're taking this seriously. Republican senators are taking this seriously. They don't like this information. They don't like trump a lot of them. I write about this like we. We don't like what he's doing so well that's important a number of them think he's crazy crazy and say to you and say to me. He's he's a a streetfighter. Okay they say a lot more than that rick really talk about his stability. All of this is in play now. We have a different dynamic after today. We have new information. I'm not predicting anything except upped. None of us knows where this is and there is now. I will with absolute certainty as I predicted during the Russia. Investigation where this is going. It's going nowhere that the president president is going to run for real life. You may run as an impeach president someone who gets impeached by the House but the the United States is not going to preach they honest. Certainly given what you saw today. Did this move the needle for any Republican senators. You're watching I find it hard to believe it did picking up on where Carl mentioned. There's conspiracy we know from what's come out of the executive sessions generally where this is going and what struck me today in listening to these two witnesses is they already have more than they had against Richard Nixon to impeach him on on Account because the evidence is is there there was my testimony a few people that were lower in the pecking order. Then me and it happened before the tapes and tapes didn't cut but he was already impeached..

They can literally it is literally oversample Democrats or Republicans. So yeah, you're kind enough to get an accurate. You're not going to really get an accurate sample. "To the pres kate i mean listen how much crap do we take from places like iran what do you call the middle east i heard you say it many times quicksand but we're like buried in this quicksand crap so why should we not why should we trust that iran is doing what it should do and why for goodness sake did we not just hang onto those economic sanctions in the first place and now you look iran going after israel than israel going back this is the never ending saga and the dilemma of what happens in the middle east scary stuff in my mind it is scary stuff and there is no way to one hundred percent trust what's happening and the whole nuclear deal thing and you know what's going to change in two thousand fifteen they had this agreement and the president our president said you know you gotta fix it you gotta fix the doom deal it's not it's not working so iran says it's not going to renegotiate it's not going to do it and this is where you end up in this place with a country that is has nuclear ambitions and you don't have a lot of a lot of control over what's going on you just have to trust now others disagree and think iran we shouldn't have gotten out of the deal in iran should be able to do what it's doing like this one from donnie and another one that was very similar from sam and sam says you know israel is just a bully and i i don't really care either way between the two is but the conflict between them has been there for ever it's not a surprise and i mean give me a break the the whole thing here is why a why reject what's happening why not stick with the deal why not just try to make it a little bit better and stead it's like catering to netanyahu and by the us rejecting the nuclear deal it puts us back in the same position we've been before we go round and round in the middle east carousel and so we're where do we end up and what do the european union leaders thinking obviously they don't have any influence over the president but maybe in this case it would have been good if they did have his ear but apparently they don't.

"Bit bananas absolutely i think it's safe to say the hungarian grown pres bake in hungary i think he's safer to say however that when the world starring role in town wherever certain novi now it was at novi on on show they go absolutely nuts as love last year he took part masisi our international races that were there as guest joya alongside attila attache roberta coach alga they had hondas they running this year norbert is a honda driver talk greenies teammates and again he's racing on home soil so straightaway you've got to say he's going to be one of the favorites for win on home turf if he doesn't win or filth any joy that does take your race win in they may just get more to try and get out the circuit on sunday often but yes hungary always welcomes sweltering soaring 'cause with with a big warm welcome and the same time unlike grown pre touring cars can i it's hike at the hungarian so it's it believe it or not is quite possible for them to oversight on several points to the circuit so it's going to be a very challenging weekends for large orders they're not going to be in there before for joy i haven't been there in tcl machinery before but some have so different levels of experience going to come through we've also got the added detail that they say can we see the first of the wildcards that have been into its or have we put in place a subsidy for the world's soaring cockup anyway.
