"Listen she was good enough to be within two lengths of gha mean. That's good enough to win. Just about any filly and mare sprint. There is in the country. And you know what camin isn't in this race lake and lake avenue for both me and dave in the grey to gallant bloom. Quarter million dollar race goes as the ninth on the card sunday at belmont park. Well mentioned earlier. That sunday is a huge day at remington park. It's really their marquee. They've got steaks all up and down there. Sunday program dave and we're going to take a look at a couple of them starting with race number eight. It's the two hundred thousand dollar grade. Three remington park oaks for the three year. Old fillies going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track. We've got a field of seven here a lot of very very talented runners. The morning line favorite is number. One pollings pearl coming off a couple of in the money finishes charlestown and prairie meadows. Or last two. She actually ran a decent race in the grade. One kentucky oaks prior to that drawn well toward the inside. She makes sense as the favorite. But i she certainly doesn't lay over this field. I just don't think she's beaten anybody. That makes me abundantly confident. She fits for sure and may win. And you have to respect asked me sending santana and stonecrest. I'm just not like blown away very very viable for sure. The number seven lady mystify coming in from southern california for peterman and fluffy and prod going to show speed in this race. The figs earl glow. But i'm interested. Throw out the last blade in that race prior to against not a whole lot were really really good but the one i like best is amendment. Nineteen for brad cox. You don't know first. Time trying to turns but i think the last race a pretty good second at saratoga. It's says it's an hour race but one hundred thousand dollars. Non winners of one other maiden lifetime that race came back reasonably well. And that's where. I'm going. Brad cox first time training twenty six percent horse coming out of a race. Saratoga i feel best about amendment nineteen okay. We're on the same philly once again amendment. Nineteen for me for everything that you said. listen. I don't think she leaves over the field but i think she has more upside than just about everyone because she only has three races lifetime she. She goes from one very good barn to another from linda. Rice to brad cox But being by constitution. I don't think the mile and a sixteenth distance will hurt her. She's she's kind of got greenware. She's bread more for a route on the on the top side and more for a sprint out of carson city on the dan side well. She's run pretty well at six furlongs. Seven furlongs in a one turn mile us far trying to turn for the first time. Yes there are question marks. But i believe in her. I believe in trainer. Brad cox and i certainly believe in jockey joel. Rosario seventy-two on the morning line. I think that's a fair price for amendment. Nineteen we both like her in the grade. Three remington park oaks race eight on the remington card. This sunday the marquee event on sunday at remington park is the grade three oklahoma derby race number eleven. Four hundred thousand dollars on the line..

"Fires happen to be with you here on this beautiful tuesday. September twenty first and can talk a little pennsylvania derby little billion and a little parks and the little belmont with chris griffin who was announcing at belmont park. This weekend will ask about that. Experience called his first million dollars. He was supposed to call two million dollars on saturday. He's still got a call. Two million of saturday but those were supposed to be one and two but now they're going to be two and three 'cause he called the belmont jockey club derby so we'll talk with chris about that experience about the upcoming week at parks. I talked to him. Shortly before entries came out for the two big races. And honestly like i said i don't. I never want this. Show to turn into handicapping podcasts. I just don't like. I like talking about the races and i think there is times. We're talking about handicapping interesting. I don't want like whole segments too. Because you guys know the horses you know the race and you know you don't need mine chris's opinion on who's going to win the race. But and there'll be plenty of those podcasts out later in the week and we'll certainly talk about the racist later in the week i just to me. It's not just a. I don't think we need to spend too much time on that portion of things. But that's just me. I really appreciate everybody tuning in Every time i go away for vacation or you know. I was actually. I think i was sick once for a week. The first year. Like right. Around christmas. I got really bad flu and so i was gone that but like every time i'm gone for a week or two in this case like i always like anybody gonna come back. Remember that we exist but you all did at least according to the monday numbers so appreciate you guys coming back with us and the looking forward to the week ahead trainer. Enemy gonna join us tomorrow. doing research About an-and wasn't fully aware that she's From my neck of the woods appear in washington and oregon so talk a little bit about that in her burgeoning training career. That's about three years now if Got more wins and starts than any previous at the three years this year and obviously still three months left plus in the year. So we'll talk with antibody bunch of stuff coming up on tomorrow. Show horse play thursday. We'll just be me and the jury boys will be back on friday. So that's what we're looking at For the remainder of this week. I wanted to start off with just kind of a. I was making a little bit of a list of what did i miss on vacation and You know because as i said. I try to kind of check out from horse racing during vacation. I think it's the right thing to do for me. And for my Health and safety and by the way i incur. I know i'm not supposed to do this because my job is to promote horse racing but i think that by promoting the right things in horse racing even when sometimes they're gonna maybe not necessarily like you know the bottom line short term right thing. I think they're the long-term right thing we talk a lot about Bedding or passing on a sequence or just not playing a card. Because you don't like anything like you know. Those are like taboo things to say in race track marketing. Because you're supposed to say this but everything bed this. But i believe that by talking about things like that and that we're actually encouraging our players to have more longer successful careers in racing and therefore being better customers and therefore gaining the company's more money. And so you know i encourage taking a break For you know obviously for me. It's you know if i think for a lot of horse player's racing his nadi A real part time pastime for a lot of people. It is for some but for a lot of us. It's a day in day out thing it's a lifestyle more than it is a job or a just a hobby and i think part of maintaining that love and passion is getting away from it sometimes. Especially when you know. Sometimes the game doesn't go your way for one reason or another but You know. But i find that soon as i got back looking at the races on saturday in the pcp's and book and guests to talking to chris you know like now i'm now i feel ready and excited about being back here instead of just like. Okay let's talk about another day. The they gets an important thing for you guys. Obviously when you take your break from racing you should still listen to the show or at least hit the play button so i get the download. Credit does take your break from racing for me but from rasual racing. You know what. I mean so anyways. Let's go through my little list here. So i will tell you some of my When i travelled home. I i posted videos on my trip on youtube. I and some of you guys watch those. They're always fun for me to do just to kind of have a little log of my journeys and Went to belair park and river downs. I talked about that on the last show but what to prairie meadows for the second day my drive home and i gotta say if with my home track i would be cool with it man. That is a great place to spend an evening that a great crowd. Too comfortable facility. I did get yelled at by security. I think i talked about that yesterday. Show so that. I actually had to race. Track security incidents. I'm like the least confrontational person in the world. But i'll tell you about the other one here in a minute but What did we miss You know all the other thing. I want to talk about. My drive home was mount. I was really impressed with mount rushmore. Just the scope and the beauty of it i i. Didn't you know. I knew what it looked like we. We've all seen pictures of it and stuff. And i just had not been up there yet. I've stayed in rapid city before and it's thirty miles or so to get out to mount rushmore. So made the drive out and as we're driving notice. Okay it's getting very mountainous and pretty in the black hills are just gorgeous and so you you go through this little town. I haven't in my video now and right now. I can't remember what it's called. But it's maybe five miles short of and it's like all like restaurants and bars. There was motorcycles. As far as the. I could see it was about a week or two after sturgis. So i'm assuming a lot of those guys and gals. Just hang around and maybe party in that area or just enjoy riding bikes. I could see why you'd wanna ride bikes in that area. It's beautiful and so through that little town and then you kinda climb up to the mountain and you park..

"Brickyard ride Certainly on his best can But he's going to have to you know survive The pace battle right. I mean it's the pace. Looks like it's really going to be hot especially with quick tempo shipping in here Coming off of you know sharp. Runup at prairie meadows special reserve is going to be one of the big players vanderbilt back there. S tomorrow so It it sets up for a horse who should be able to finish. And you know ceesay rocket collusion illusion dr shovel. I'll have what looks like the style that should be most appropriate for the way race figures to unfold at a glance. I we should mention eight rings and trying to you know trying to turn the clock back frankly to you know to his juvenile form. Then seems like it's been a travail however Coming off of a forty-seven to best of hundred ten bullet and You know i'm going to be a price in here and on figs and so forth he you know he he should be And and you know riding a what a four race losing streak hasn't won since the american pharaoh back in in two thousand nineteen but He seemingly you working well from a mojo standpoint. In my opinion american feral where he got loose on the lead and You know since. Danny's not even hit the board so i don't know i i don't i don't see it just The a lot of bullets in there but I it's a nice group for the great one bing crosby and we mentioned the hirsch on sunday. And here's the grade one for the phillies and mayor's going long right when in you're in for the staff and you know significant injury with she dares the devil shipping end. But her comeback race even though it was on the grass it was sensational. And then obviously you've got as time goes by shouldn't terrific form And you know this'll be her biggest challenge so far but in in terms of Trying to get a grip. Grade one wins. "With respect racing wise. Just you know learn from every race in take the races ago. You can't carry the race. You just wrote onto the next one win or lose or wrote a bad ray throat. A great race the races over so move onto the next race Because that trainer or the pd writing for or looking forward to that race and you can't bring a bad attitude out to them just because maybe a race before didn't go your way So you know. I've always had that ingrained in me and Kinda carried that out through my career and that's important walkout there with a positive attitude and they always say you know nobody whether you come home from a day's race or you walk down the paddock with the next race. Nobody should know how you did before you know. Know exactly exactly no matter if you're going out there for ninety nine to one zero one. Denying those people are all working those hours. And they're putting in as much work as the top barnes From a guy that has one horsa guy that has three hundred So it's it's always. That's always something that i've learned to just be positive and go out there with all the confidence in the world. Exactly back on january thirty first. I sent a text to your dad. What a ride congrats you know which race i was referring to january. Thirty first Was that a houston Yeah houston philosophy. Exactly the texas mile for mark. Cassie that was about as good a ride as i i've ever seen i mean traffic. Put your head down and just road through the line Tell us about that rates. That'd be big thrill to win one like that for for mark and your dad been in your corner. No huge The horse As had been working tremendously Donna fairgrounds i worked about every horse in mark's barn sports enough to do that and get many opportunities the leading up to texas Blasi i've been working tremendous He's giving us all the competence of the world going there We thought the recent sued him. Just perfect So when we went into the race You know. I kinda. I wrote a step slower than to like i was placed behind the eventual second-place. Winter alway around there But he kind of lead a. He got through on the rail and i was able to. Just sit and just be patient because I thought just there I have plenty of time to get up Around the bend. There's no need to move to early there i may even you know. I was lucky. I got up at the wire at the time but so it's a turf with the big sweeping turn so once i got around there and i got him going. He's a big horse. That just take some time. And once i got him go and He's all head of steam down the lane and he just gave us a great kick And you know he's he's been doing well. Since i raise you know he's been in some tough races have been running well Some unlucky draws unfortunately but I think there's more to come from guys nice source and that was That was a brilliant ride. So you got your fans out there. I was looking to texture. Dad for your number for this conversation and i looked back and that was like one of the i. Don't take your dad off and you'd exchange after that which is fun you know very It was a lot of pride for in case back to riding empire golden breeder's cup sprint at keeneland. Declan you finish fourth at a big price. But what was that. Like how to be a big thrill to write a race like that. Yeah no those great day Getting the ride. The breeders south for a lot of my my time. Jose santos junior That was all am getting that ride very fortunate enough to get that opportunity empire gold. I was able to gallop him through the week. us he's a lovely moving force He gave us all the confidence going into the race. Awfully it's a very tough task He wasn't getting the respect coming from the races. News coming from but if you looked at the forum forum was great so you second in the phoenix by diamond news but Going in there look. He broke like a rocket I was able to position myself. Right outside of The japanese runner That jose ortiz was on at the time You setting very setting. You know quick fractions for but obviously breeder's cup sprint. You are going to go quick So i was able to sit off there. And i was able to kinda just wait. Bide my time And then turning for home. I actually hit the top of the front You know it was a very exciting feeling. Obviously not many people get their experience that So you know nice turned for home At sixty fully. We just got a little weary army kinda swiss wrongly. But he's very gutsy or and he's all heart Haven't been on him since. Obviously because it'd been different areas You had a nice winter at oaklawn and then I think he may be going to prairie meadows for the state But i'm not quite sure but yeah it was a great experience no question to be in that kind of race at that moment for sure and grow your heroes who is as far as jockeys come. Who who do you do. You try to emulate Know around junkies like my whole life and gone and growing up. You know seeing how they following them. a big supporter by with the floor drew He's always been you know he's always text me or call me after races. He was a big advocate for becoming to arlington Since he was here before at hawthorn he kind of gave me a lot of ice. Coming here And he's always helped me throughout and many jockeys have Adamkus schizo Animus gets is very close to me. he's always been a big supporter of mine Even live with my dad down fairgrounds a couple years ago so i got to know him really well You know julian peru You know just a bunch of those guys. I've been you know i've been very friendly with them for a long time Not many people you know. Have that So i've been very lucky And of course gary. Carol who's my cousin in ireland. Who actually had his first role. Ask got winter For eclipse forever. So you know like say I've been very fortunate to be along these great group of guys and learn every day from them for sure i mean. That's they got. You need those guys around. And how do you deal with the mental part. I mean i know. Riding young cues the ups and downs riding the weight colossus the pressure. Is that something that you that comes easier. What's your how do you deal with that. That type of the pressure. Being jackie you know. Mental health is a big issue in our game As.

"Who has to leave the friendly confines of Santa Anita I mean. She's rentals al before she was second there. It was early early in her career. And You know it is a different track, and it's not Santa Anita and she's just become so adept at winning there and really not anywhere else and so. Started with that thought, and then it kind of started look through the field on my okay well. Who the hell's GonNa Beater? I saw John Sadler's on a vacation, because one has listed the trainer for harness racing on artistic diva, so think of that what you will I thought he cruel horse, who was second developing last time ran a pretty good one, but I can't imagine her running down Bella phenotype she's. Giving her. I was trying to think if somebody beats BELFI. That's going to be somebody who gets the jump on a right and zoo. Show is for Gary Mandela was kind of the only one. I can think of maybe might be able to do that but I just don't know that she's quite that fast You know they try to the beholder. Mile obviously gets way way tougher, but That was Kinda my only. Again it's not a race. I would ever play just because I. DON'T I. Don't Love Bill. Athena but I just don't know who who use. Outside of her that to me was the the tough question, so I mentioned Prairie Meadows, a big Sunday of racing headline of course by the great three Iowa Oaks, and the grade, three corn husker a handicap. Corn Husker, which is far and away, I think the most interesting race of the of the night on Sunday a field of nine in their dumped of course coming off that shocking, almost sixty two one win at Oaklawn Park. That was kind of right in the middle of all those stakes races on Arkansas. Derby Day. Five to one I. Don't know that you're going to get i. mean he's just really good for him right now, and you know going well for those types US radar superstar, and here it's ninety two I love. That horse loved that he's one of those old fashioned. Drop back twenty. Let's see if we can make our move. Go thirty eight wide. And what have you? I think no surprises I mean Asmussen has. Strong contenders as Cox in many of these races night ops is actually your five to morning line favorite coming off a real disappointing effort that oaklawn handicap I mean. He just didn't fire and he was you know a somewhat bigger price. It was very good in the Essex when he won that, but I'm a little surprised that he's who they elected to be the morning line favorite. He actually ran here last year as the favourite in the Iowa Derby. And didn't run a jump brand fifth beaten four, so maybe a chance to try to beat the favorite in this kind of trying to look at. I thought my success. The one at ten to one David Cabrera for Steve Hobby coming over from Churchill now he's I was jumping up in class. His last race I didn't think was as bad as maybe indicate I think they made a little bit of an early move, and just Kinda got a little short late, but I thought if he was able to be his best race seemed to be when he's up front, and because he's drawn the rail here and there's a ton of like deep closers. I thought he might be kind of an interesting one I think dumps GonNa Kinda. Sit just off him I. Think in fact I'm probably work to get over, but I think my success with the rail dry if they send. I think he could be a big player here. You probably won't get tend to one, but I don't think you'll get that much. Lower I would guess five or six one I. Guess that is a lot lower, but that's just just one little morning line man's opinion here for me and I guess from the morning line makers well. The Iowa Oaks drew field of and Steve Asmussen's horse was given the morning line favorite's role. Five to two strong flag who just has a maiden win has been beaten. A couple starts in a row and. Me Didn't have the look of of the winner. In this race I kinda was a little bit interested to see Jonathan, Wong sending out there. He's ran dynasty. Verona ran at sunland on the dirt before and ran pretty decently has ran a couple of really good ones at Golden Gate. Fields likes to be up near lead him, and obviously the surfaces, the question, but flat out speed has flat out speed, and so it might be a situation, and also the worse on the rail lagoon falls a stretching out for Broberg, so it certainly sets up for the asmussen horse, and the come from behind I think it really garland for off per se might be. Okay as an off the pace type ocean breeze was an ice winter. Church you off my face. This is obviously a big jump for a grade three. I mean this came up really light in terms of top talent I think in so I commend catalog for taking a shot him and he's going to be four to one with a you know basically a non winner of two and You know that that's good entering the Iowa Derby really I don't know kind of marquee names here. Just kind of a smattering of decent three-year-old. three-year-old allowance types that are going to get a chance in this race aspen as billy batts. Who of course was second? In that Breeders Cup juvenile turf now finds his way onto the main track I. Mean I. Guess they're just kind of see and Haley. You know he's been. He's been pretty darn good on the on the grass. They did run him over and Dubai or no. What was it Saudi? The set in the Saudi recap and he didn't do. A ton of running wasn't terrible, but he's beaten. Split the field. shows you shake me up before I keep the storm. Oh feels like having her. Keep the name all that much last. Little bitter so. We gotta get Keith a good horse, but house Berkshire takes them out. This one had been mostly sprinting had gone route couple of times, and it's gone really poorly so again. Another favourite who I think has some some big time vulnerabilities, but again you got to come up with the you know who you're going to beat them with certain. The Horse Acre be, it will be be running pretty decently in this one and so I, thought maybe that one was a little bit interesting, but I should be a fun day. Day over depraved metal's always kind of their their night in the sun on the Iowa is festival of racing, right? That's what they count I. Think so anyways. We're going to wrap up this edition of the program. Big Big. Thanks to our guests this week. To Miguel main who join US admire joined as Bruce Meyer. It was Myers Week here on the show again. I am off Monday for my fourth of July holiday, but I'll be back on Tuesday to recap it all. We'll have guests Wednesday. Thursday while Jerry Friday in. Closing Week at grants pass downs.

Tournaments to keep You know less teams in, so it's a Thursday Friday and then we're back tonight, so it's actually different. Setup the normal. but but smart smart. They're doing it that way and keeping Numale keep social distancing stuff all the factors and deploy she. She got a killer crossover. She does she does. He puts a lot of time, and so it's fun to watch a compete now. That's good man. Chad greenway former Vikings linebacker, tackling machine each and every week nine to noon, courtesy of grey duck spirits. It's grey duck vodka. Charging I was in Ames, last summer drove through aims, and we're not planning to stop, but we saw this ice cream shop. Downtown aims. Do you know what I'm talking about? It looked like it was maybe it was an old renovated building. They used to be i. don't know something else, and it had sort of your hometown ice cream store. Feel to it and it was great. Yeah you know obviously know I prefer rival city Iowa town with university live with their. This is a this is a rival here as They do they do a great job of hosting events? We've come down here every summer for this event and it's been A. It's been a blast they do. Their facility or just incredible no fun to come down here for a for a youth tournament. NPA, all you spend a lot of time in gyms, and now you can always appreciate. A good venue is no doubt I mean I haven't felt my ribs twenty five years so frequenting gyms is definitely in vogue. Hey, have you been I? Awoke Leisurely speaking now lanes with the basketball thing. Have you been to Altoona? Iowa. I have not been out. Driven by many times. Yeah, that's the that's where prairie meadows racetrack is, but they also they also have a dairy is big in that state, and they have this. This dairy farm that has a Paul Bunyan ask cow in front of it. It's just a massive thing that it dumb go. It would scare the children. I've driven by. Prairie meadows a bunch of times. Have you ever been there? Call the race. They're never called the race. There I have been there a couple of times. It's Tom. It's markedly different than we do things at Canterbury. It doesn't make it bad. It's bad, but does is a dump. Okay? Well, would you rather have? Would you with all due respect to the racetrack that brought me here twenty six years ago and it's deeply rooted in my heart. Would you rather have what we have? which is more entertaining, more energetic, more vibrant, yes, or as you have described as a dumb, it has adopt with slots. A slot machines crap tables sports betting. Is All the sports. Betting part is very tempting. Very tempting but stereotyping this look Sunday i WanNa have what you have a canterbury and love that, but then let's throw dice at all correct. Yeah, let me be Brady for one. Hundred twenty eleven off season I. Don't know if anybody's asked you about this man, but if they have I didn't get the answer like the twenty eleven off season with the work stoppage and everything, and then you kind of rushed up to the season alike. They're going to do this year to a certain extent, even though they've had a virtual off-season, the twenty eleven off season. Do you remember anything about it? Oh absolutely so you know you're. The facilities locked down and a Lotta. Guys were in the off season. They want obviously all wanted to prepare. We want to train was going through contract negotiation I just got franchise. There's a lot of things going on that offseason the funny part I can. I can remember all of us Steve. Hutchinson, Ben Lever He's Farwell, myself Jim Client saucer. We had a group of guys that were training together, and we would go over the crosstown lifetime fitness. Literally crew just walk in and just meet out on some weights for you know a couple of hours, and they'll be go maybe down place to pick up hoops, and then we would We'd actually we'd train over at Dina community center where they were, they played high school football games. That turf field over there any Diana. Yeah, that was where we we use that facility for training, speedwork and running but the hard part was. I in different now in a in a covert setting, but the hard part was finding an area to go work out and zone to go workout that you could that you. Get together and and and Kinda get the energy intensity that you need to get accomplished season. That was the hardest part. channel ran into this stat yesterday on twitter Vikings having blown touchdown lead in four and a half years. which is crazy to think what I know is I? Am I it it stunning? How To what you're playing for part of those four and a half years, so tell me what you think it is. That's in the makeup of team. That can go that long without blowing touchdown lead. What unbelievable I think it just it just speaks to defensive obviously defensive and continuity on the format, offense and two minute offense, and be able to to host a lead and to hold the lead obviously you know offensively to stay on the field and critical situations to me. The biggest thing that Zimmer does and and it's one of the most important things and. He's very good at learning from his mistakes and integrating things into his practices, and I always loved that as a player. When you go through situations, you don't feel comfortable in the field. You WanNa, find out on the third and seven. You know game time you're GONNA find out. and. He's really good that identifying that weakness, and and and and spending time on it like a lot of time. He's not just little mouse. You know he'll spend full meetings full practices on situations, and and that's me. You know I love Them Big Fan I. You know that's what separates him is preparation and thinking about every scenario possible to come back to haunt him. Yeah, and there's gotta be an in game. You know component to it. I would think to go that long without giving blowing touchdown lead. I imagine you know I've had some. With some of the in game stuff that the Vikings have done over the years we all have you know that happens any team anytime, but you must be doing something in in game. That's pretty. That's that's. That's pretty special as well I would think. Well, I think it's that separation where the coaches in game can make those decisions to make those and prepared to make those decisions, but also they have the right call ready right, have the be prepared on game. They execute on the player that the coach and we we've seen it them. We've seen coaches. Make mistakes as well as players you know not handle gametime not handled the clock, not handle these different scenarios, and and it it you prepare you. Get in you get into the game. Then you have a clear enough head to make the right decision, and clearly to have that kind of thing happen to your team. That's that's really impressive and NFL. Adrian Peterson says he wants to play for four more years I at this point. Why not right I mean is? Is Anybody going to say no? Is Amy you? You can't do it. Well I. Think for him. I mean he's proven to be able to keep. His level of play had a great year last year. ramp robust yards physically he's he's I. Mean He's a specimen. We all know that and you know what his body capable of doing, so I don't know why anybody would tell them. No, at this point we we are going to get into some obvious and or non obvious questions involving the NFC north around the corner. I WanNa ask you this nick. Falls with the Chicago bears. Okay there I, it's my. Let's just say guests. That NFL training camps. En Masse around the league. Potentially are going to resume a month for Monday. Okay, so.

How are you doing doing great? I appreciate you joining us. I know you were telling me. You were entering the racist for Lonestar just before we got on air. What does a normal entry morning like for you? Well I. I actually deny before I get my whoever my agent is and I tried to stay with one and try to have a jockey tracking. You know of course I do use several sometimes, but Anyway? I sent him my entries. And then they did a very good job of keeping me updated, and then we'll get the final. They send it to me. In case I need to move a horse around or they update. Meet throughout the morning to see if say one racist got five and one racist got seven, and maybe they need to go I'm. I'm not move on from five to eight to make the race. Go, and you know I. Try to help out the track as well you know. We enter horses and run. I don't get paid to sit install I was gonna say I know from working in the race office when you have owners who have a fair number of horses, especially claiming ones. You're usually the first guy. The Race Office Call Dan you got know twenty five thousand nine winner a three round. It's funny. You said that I just got a call from Ray Lopez at for Eto embraced up. Several years, and he's a hey man. I gotTA race here. We're GONNA short field. Have you got anything? Unfortunately I couldn't help him out, but you know sometimes I will. If I'm close friendship horse in. I'll try to help out a racing office all the. Can you ever been ill? They got a tough job. You know you ever been to the big steer steakhouse right next door to prairie meadows. Several Times. It is how the country boys? I love the big steer. Trust me. I always tell people because I'm I used to drive from river downs back to Oregon each fall, and I always stop at Prairie Meadows, and then go to the big fear for Dinner Niles to help you I said. There's this great little state, and it's like you're eating someone's living room like it's A. Point little place, but really cool I want to ask them glad you mentioned about using the agent one jackie, because just looking at your entries I, it does seem that you really like to have just your one Go-to guy there and obviously, if you have to in a race, you have to expand on then is is that due to just kind of ease of the prep process and entries and all that stuff, or do you really just like to just partner with one person? I mean I truly like to partner with the one person that knows my horses and works my horses, and so we don't have to go. You know I like to have a game plan on coach and I'd like to have a game plan before they get on. And I know when we're getting ready to gates, open things change and they just got ride the best it can, but if they know the horse and no. No his tendencies if he's got any quirks or whatever it's, it's better I think and then having one agent I just that way. We don't get anything confused, and maybe we miss an entry or something. If you're trying to deal with with several, sometimes, one you know gets another mount from our first call person I call trainer and you're sitting there. The draw trying to find a job and that's not very fun. Would never do that to you. Know very often, but it doesn't happen occasionally, but I've dealt with some really good agents, and so I'm very fortunate. They're always the guy whenever I go to a new track I try to meet the agents because I feel like they're always like the most connected guys in and you usually unless you are looking for him a lot of times you, you wouldn't be able to tell who and who they are and stuff and. And they're generally characters. It seems like to me. Oh, yeah they're definitely characters. They like to play and they they They keep up with what's going on a lot of them. Do and some trainers even let them help them in or. Horses, 'cause they they stay connected, and and some of them do very good job. You know and I like to get with those that stay connected and knows what you know. What races usually feel and I keep records myself so I kind of get an idea of it, and you know the condition, but to me is something that you got an inside out. If you're an attract, use it and You know you don't. Don't have US deal with a lot of extras that way you can train for the book because I hate working horses. I'd rather run them every few weeks. They'll tell you when they're ready to run and I've actually had more get hurt and work so I had racist. So that's just my philosophy. Are you generally a go to the track in the morning? Guys or you like to kind of do everything from Home Office. You know we're. We're the race track. You know other than the code. Is You normally at the track I? Don't go track every morning. Now I do not do that I. Don't tell my trainers out of train and. One with five different trainers this year, but Federico Franco's my go-to guy. He works for me for salary. And you know I'll go the barn occasionally and We'll go over horses. You know weekly if if I'm at that track it's been difficult with me, not being able to go to the tracks now, but you know I do more my work at home and I listen to my trainers. I don't tell them how to train. And I listen to them, and they tell me is ready to run, and I entered it in that spot. You know the horses, so it's my fault I don't Enron a good spot. What is I was thinking because i? I see your name pop up at many of the tracks primarily obviously throughout the mid West. But what do you consider your primary home tracks? Well I mean Remington. Park is my home track. I've been you know racing. There's since well actually back. In the nineties I had a few and started back in two thousand seven, but it's.

All about a dozen about a dozen races could be added to this and that also includes some of the races that have Been rescheduled so take a race for example like the Santa Anita Derby which is repositioned to June. The sixth at this time You know that's one of the races on the schedule. And then some of the obvious waiting to hear what's next from the Prairie Meadows and Indiana Indiana seems to have a a target now So the the regional derbies. Obviously the cessation of del Mar The anticipation of the Haskell et Cetera Saratoga with with however the travers slash Jim Dandy. You're going to be treated The del Mar thing with if I if I'm not mistaken. I think we saw that rather than the shared belief that they they're they're going to create a three year old race That would be news to us. I saw that may have just been the way. It was worded but it now the shared belief is.

You know this so we cover all ten stakes races on the on the on the card so we thought we'd do these big card will just go through. We'll give kind of top. Three one is most value the horse race. We think that most values are gonNA come out and no I'm not gonNA say roadster and give you a three to one or sixty five we're GONNA do the most likely winner and we're GonNa do the race. We're most excited to watch so each going to pick her own races here So we'll kick it off with the rate the race with the most value likely value winner. You go I went to re six. The House hope St Grade. Three event going a mile and an eighth. I just thought this race was an absolute nightmare. A mess two handicap. I hate this race but in the MSN. Well let's take a shot with a fifteen to one horse here number eight sir. Anthony is going to be my long show first of all. I think there's GonNa be a ton of speed in the race and there's a lot of speed in the race that usually fades away. So that's good. That's good news for closers and that's what Sir Anthony is. He is definitely a dead fake closer and if you look at his experience at a mile and an eighth pretty good you know. Four races back won the grade. Three corn husker at Prairie Meadows. And then two races back finished third in the Lucas clack classic at Churchill downs which is a pretty decent race. I mean it had horses like silver desk for example who got second in that race so he's got a lot of class flow and that's going to be my last point. This is the best jockey that's been on him by a wide margin and that's really no disrespect to some of these other guys. It's just far too rouge just on such a role right now. He's grinding so well. I think it's an upgrade and I'm thinking you know what do you really WanNa play Harvey Wall Banger? Four to one. No you really WanNa play bowed express ever again in your whole life no matter what. No seventy two. No so I thought I'm going to play. Surrey Anthony Fifteen to one shot on top. So here's here's what's crazy so we don't do this together. We don't stop separately. We put this together and then we get on here and say hey. Pick who'd you pick in this one you know? We don't talk during handicapping like that so not skew anything so I said who do you do for the most? How're you doing it from those value? And he's I said I'm going raise six. He's six is..

"The the three ran a wonderful race tralee divine at twenty any to wind shout. They're absolutely courageous. Try the favorite Corrales in high. I guess that's what the Sixteenth jean-pol and then the people that play Tralee divine aren't even GonNa get placed money because going to get nailed here in the last astrid by the oncoming that the six source via the marshalls. He's bull who had a very bad start. Yes and the race started to fall apart a little bit late. Oh we got. We got an early. I don't know if you notice. We got an early version of the teen. Dance trying to get trae lead divine home over here. That's a tough one. That's very frustrating. I mean a player like Roger Row right office back but it's tough to make pick that good and have the worst run that well all and to get Nada well and for those that are regular listeners. Know when we talk about Things like the big days and Breeders Cup. There's your reverse striking horse where you take you take a twenty two to one shot and you know it's funny the thing that was interesting about this attempt. Lara got this horse in the race. and Y- drop obviously was was the the hop here and the Horse Dropping from allowance company company Remington and. That's really the first thing I go back and actually to win. Go back to that allowance win against Iowa Bread Company at Prairie Meadows House. It's been a big week. Talking about Iowa breads going back to Alan poindexter but as it happens this Iowa bread the last time it was near and I'm the the lead was a winner and that was notable in getting the source in the race that's very Nice effort and it was pretty obvious that You know your sheet player. That's a horse that ran five on third graph and that that absolutely put trae lead divine in the picture. And that's why I said I would rather than an optional. An optional race even getting beat then in a mandatory and so the favourite comes through a two to one and I was wrong about the second injury came from way back and got their bill checking in fourth behind Tralee divine so in the end it comes one eight the three six in our first mandatory race the third at six twenty and three hundred sixty which is what if you took the chalk nine the eighties. That's such a terrible number if bounce right back up when it was down at three two I was pooh-poohing it by the board even Outta bed and yeah that's critical dollars. That's GonNa really change things especially right around that that cutline more than at the top of the leaderboard but things will get things will get shaken up uh throughout the rest of the day very early days here at each see the twenty-first NHCD but fun to follow these especially these mandatory erased just so much movement on the leaderboard. Well speaking of which might be a good place. We'll we'll take breaks at the hour's let's maybe step away case and it was actually very good Casey. The his his video was not the feeding out of the studio. But the Mike Mike's pick that up the sound in here is outstanding. Anthony turned out. They turned it up. Nice it's Kinda cool. You get to hear the whole vibe of the room and of course the The risk well. Well we'll take the break here and and we'll come back where one mandatory in to the day and about halfway through The the races cumulatively And of course a very very abbreviated day considering that acqueduct never ran and Laurel only made it for races and were live..

There really doesn't quite have the you know what what is he doesn't have the time but the the energy effort to somebody like the door was gonNA put into getting the source of the right spot. Probably seems like it's a little bit more significant e a couple of horses we. We should at least touch on you mentioned ban solo kind of in passing and and has got some speed and not only has speed draws inside and is GonNa put the blinkers. John asked me some book. Ends this field with the band solo inside and fluminense On the outside Van Solo is a is a play and a horse in a spot. Nick that I always liked to pause to me. It's a very big handicapping Not a maximum but ah at least for me. It's something that I looked to. This is a horse. That's been away since May of last year as a three year old so now when we come back he's been gone seven and a half plus months now he's four and he's a Colt. He ran respectably as a two year. old gets the abbreviated season where he ran in the bachelor and then in the golden circle of Prairie Meadows and and something went awry. This is worse that could come back and use this as a launching spot and when you're looking at his PP's from last spring bring you had better add in some maturity factor projection. Because won't take much for him to suddenly be not not just competitive in a group like this but be a state course again right quick. Yeah I think that's fair. I think. Probably the biggest concern with him. Of course the inside post in their hand is going to be forced right from the start. But I think if that's the if you're going to trust somebody to to navigate their way through it. I think Ricardo Santana is probably among the best at least eastern at this particular spot..

I'm brisk net but i'm gonna. I'm gonna pay our own data with her and and granted. It's not a huge debate. I mean she'll be a price to but <hes> ah speaking of step forward. I really didn't like her in the indiana. Oh clearly proved me wrong <hes> but i just you know twice in a row <hes> back doc <hes> i'm i'm just not in her camp <hes> but i i did want to mention it because that can play both sides of the fence if she wins at least i could say i met had it but <hes> i won't <hes> so that's the story there and point of honor was a horse i thought maybe could or could have defeated guana giving her first <hes> <hes> her first defeat and just wasn't up to the task <hes> and show rightly take money also by curling but just think she'll take a little too much and <hes> the other alternatives that i'm looking at including. I said lady apple on top. It's it's fun. It's just fun because of the mile and a quarter and right because there's horses that you know that if they're eager early they're they're gonna end up burning themselves elves out then there's others that may be able to get a pace that is advantageous to them and i don't mean you know like pace for point of honor a close into but a pace that is just amenable to their to their running style and they get into an easy feat and they keep going when you no other are starting to feel the burn and that that's the interesting equation. I brought this up with mike beer. Last hour ed i mean we spend six months on sleeting into the derby talking about all the going mile and a quarter for the first time in their careers and this race. Nobody nobody says blue about. It's it's yeah. It's the first time they're going to these phillies. Go by with a quarter might be the only time unless they run in the del. L..

"Now, I think we have to acknowledge sort of not the elephant in the room, but look, she had an unbelievable situation develop in front of her. She was taken back to last by Jose and you look at her fractions throughout. She's walking in the early portions of the race while the other girls are up there. I'm not sure what the the onus was or what the rationale was going. Ten furlongs twenty two and two forty six and three for a half, but eskimo kisses comes home in twenty four eighty one for some sort of perspective. The next best closer in this spot. Midnight be SU. She got her final quarter in twenty six thirteen. So I mean we're talking, you know, some obscene margin difference there and that's why eskimo kisses continued to pull away down the stretch. I think we've talked about again, the pace situation talk to me and she's Julie. They went out there and talk to me was the one that cut out the fractions. She's a Julie sat just off the fact that she's a jewelry ended up running second. I think this was a giant effort from her and I think Steve asked, listen, SETI goes from where she was at the beginning of the year to where she is now pretty impressive. She continues to improve. Look. I never liked her, but then I went back and watch that most recent run at prairie meadows, and I thought she was tremendous. She'll like secretary at out there. That's why I picked her in here. Dan Illman picked her in here. She got bet down to six to one and I was texting with illness after the race, and I sit. I'm heartbroken for two reasons one because I said that eskimo kiss would win this race back in may because I picked her in the Kentucky oaks and she had a little bit of a trip in there. And I thought she was terrible in that coach in American sector that day too. And unfortunately, I got off, it is what it is, but to beat the other favorites in here, she's a jewelry to finish ahead of them and have eskimo kisses. Be the one to come and get the job done, broke my heart just basically summed up my weekend. Nobody wants to hear me cry over spilt milk. The point is she's a jewelry, ran a very, very strong race in the spot at a distance that she doesn't really want. She just was able to outstayed the other favorites in the spot midnight be and talk to me. It sounds like she's Julianne midnight who they're both going to be considered the tilles coming up at parks next month that a mile in sixteen mile in eighth one of the two, somebody can fact check that. I think it's a great spot for both of them. I still do wonder with midnight zoo. I almost wonder if you're better off. I understand the sort of the draw is it's great one in its restricted to three year olds. A kind of like her going one turn still, and you could always look at the building that Belmont and I know maybe you could run in both theoretically, but it's a great one events. A mile in one turn, I'm sure you're going to get some really salty older horses in there, whether it's a in a late or someone else. But I kind of feel like it'd be a really nice spot for midnight zoo time time will tell how that goes. She's Juliet thought she ran well, midnight be simply didn't wanna go this far. Not gonna. Hold that against her. Talk to me considering she went as fast as she did to only be two next behind the second and third place finishers she ran a giant race in this spot, and I was very dubious about the distance for. I mean, obviously she didn't see it out. But at the end of the day, when you go that fast, there's hardly any horse that would ever be able to see out that distance. I really genuinely believe it. I don't know what the connections are going to do. I haven't read or heard anything about where they may choose to go..
