I think it went off the king stick before it was tipped again. Brian boyle Picking up a little speed and as he got inside the kings line he got bumped by green and not sure if it was green or mitchell tip the shot. Yeah the good way to set up. Defensively boyle had a head of steam behind. He's got a big shot. They came in layers staggered. So even a green may have gotten beat by boyle mitchell would have been there as a second layer but i believe green made contact and gotta stick on it as well. "I mean of course you know this is a movie about a a AH demonic head and it does give head at one point and of course in reanimator you know there's a head giving head and also but aside from that there's just a real just kind of all out like craziness to the violence. The Gore the performances everybody's what is just kind of goes back to John Waterson. Everybody is just so off you know everybody's just so just strange throughout the whole movie and so I think on on multiple levels I thought of reanimator yes and what a great thing to I think of. I love reanimator yeah. Absolutely I mean you know. There's not going to be too many times to see heads giving head yeah. We talked about reanimator another episode. Did I can't remember what it was now and you said that your dad had suggested it. Yeah that's right. What movie was that. Oh that was overlord. That's right yeah me and my dad went and saw an animator the musical and he was very very excited about it. I saw reanimated the music. Was that in Vegas. I think it was at the Smith Center. If I am not making this up right now anybody WanNa confirm that yeah. I really think it was all right Josh. Why don't we go on your next puzzle. Well actually I think this. This is connected to the reanimator theme and the movie I've seen reanimator but it's been a while but the movie that I thought of was Franken Hooker which is another other from. I think maybe nineteen ninety or maybe the early nineties somewhere around there maybe slightly later than the era that this movie is trying trying to emulate movie about a Nerdy Weirdo who kind of kills a bunch of people in order to satisfy a strange sexual connection with woman issue thing and I think it has it has a similarly early like reanimator again. It's been a while I remember it being smaby slightly more serious at times and bringing hookers just crazy constantly and I think it had more of the like ridiculous over the top humor that this movie has or that it has in its best moments I sure so yeah and I just like saying Franken Hooker. Yeah never enough time to say that yeah yeah. What do you think about that. One drew I love Franken Hooker and she is all woman and well. I think that right now anyone that's listening should really want to see the head. That's that's what I'm saying. I'm just sitting here thinking wow this is like John Waters version of reanimator and Franken Hooker who wouldn't want that to my new favorite movie movie that is pretty damn exciting yeah well. What do you have your Your next one drew my next puzzle. Piece is an an actual shot on video film from eighties what that is set in Las Vegas so it's something that that I didn't think of necessarily early when the film was being made but watching it it reminded me of it and it's called Las Vegas bloodbath. I Dunno if either of you. I thought I'd seen every movie set in Las Vegas but I have not heard of that. I don't know how many people have ever actually seen it. I wish I knew the real history of it and I. I was trying to do some research for a little while but it's it's a shot on. It's a shot on. VHS horror movie and the story that I know I'm from its its genesis is it was I heard that it was someone that had a an oil wrestling team here of women women that would like mud wrestle and oil wrestle and it was he created this movie to promote them and so there there is an actual team. There's these women that are oil wrestlers and it goes into a weird subplot for wild. It's almost a commercial for them so I believe this this story but I don't know that it's hundred percent true but it's just basically a a really strange vegas-based shot on video horror movie about a character whose wife cheats on him and he loses his mind and it goes on a killing spree and which that part of it isn't like it but just seeing the vegas landscape and Sean on VHS just something it just reminded me of it yeah for sure I I certainly haven't heard anyone in his audience heard of that movie now not even Michael Keane director of the head yeah. That's that's a good deal. I like it. I like it a lot. I'm going to go with another puzzle here and I was almost is going to go with evil dead. I bring up literally every single episode ever it happens a lot with with the other evil dead Ed. I'M GONNA go with dead alive instead because you know in this one you got this. This weird Kinda just Weirdo guy his mom you know as a part of you know part part of it yes to bring home you know people to for to feed on forever creatures in his basement to feed on zombies so yeah a lot of a lot of data alive in the the plot of this and also I mean I think it has that same kind of mix of of comedy and horror it really. Kinda just goes for total. Go for Baroque ridiculous over the top nece yeah yes yes. I can see you're not you're still just like picking out of a hat full of my favorite movies but I can totally see that the humor is very much the same and and the way something that I really appreciate and I try to do as well as using the Hor- four for the humor is something that I like to sometimes people separate it and they try to write funny dialogue but then they then they have Gore and horror and I and I think there's a way to blend them and I think there's something about poor that can be really funny sure and I think Michael in in the head really really did that did that. Well and it's hard at a and I think it would have been hard not to in a sense I mean seeing that it is that there is a mannequin head slurping swerving serving but it's hard to make make it super serious but but he managed Mak- genuinely funny I like the the method that that he chose to to make the blood like slowly. Go Away as it slurping. It's just the most ridiculous possible editing method for that. It's pretty great. You know we we have time. Do you guys have one more each. If we were to do like a quick lightning round before we bring him out yeah I have. I mean I can do a quick one on cool but the third thing that I had prepared was something that was talked about a lot and QNA right afterwards which is psycho okay and the mother relationship in this movie. The main character isn't impersonating his mother and the mother is alive at the beginning and then is not but uh the keeping of the mother's corpse in the way he's arguing with the mother even though she's no longer alive and he's kind of becoming more unhinged injured maybe even because she's not alive and despite her clear craziness and forcing him to have sardines and milk. Maybe she was keeping him together in in some way so yes. Psycho was the last thing that I had you guys watch this. Yes all right uh-huh Great Nagina Andrew Great Answer Yeah. I don't know the one and this is also just like my last answer. I don't it's not something that I necessarily think would have influenced influenced Michael but it's something that I thought of when I was that the movie reminded me of an it's the movie street trash which is if you haven't seen it go watch street trash. It's one of my favorite movies but has over the over the top characters for sure exist in St Trash but it's also just the use of its just really dirty and grimy and gross at times like the St trashes for sure and I think think Michael in the head like the Sardines and milk. There's certain things that are just really off putting and gross and but like in a way that makes you smile makes me smile and speak might've gagged earnings and milk seen away yeah yeah yeah. I smiled so yeah. Definitely I've gotTA street. It made me WanNa. Watch street trash again. When I get home right on well. I'm going to do what we call. The finished puzzle which is just reading down the list of all the movies we just talked about and then we'll bring McCain out so are finished puzzle includes computer chess and we also talked about trash hampers squeeze that in there desperate living reanimator Franken Hooker Las Vegas Bloodbath Dead Alive Alive Psycho and street trash so good little list of movies there that's one hell of a student in a film festival. Maybe maybe yeah normally we would go into our closing thoughts on the regular episodes of the podcast but let's pretty Makina that we could talk to him for a little bit Michael Keane man going to disappoint a lot of people that come through for you there there you go home in Nice. I like it. I all right well. I say this I just met Michael for the first time I just before the screening and so we're not like friends going back longtime or anything so just no oh. I'm not saying this just to say this but as I was watching this movie the moment where I was like like okay. I am digging this. When you showed up characters just like definitely I was. I was I was in at that point. You know adverse great there's actually side known vern is the dumbest joke in the entire movie and it's not not because of any of the reasons you saw I DO DRAGON CON TV back in Atlanta every year and one year I did a sketch for the show because we just needed to fill time and it was about the lion sculpture actually the alliance look like lion sculptures outside of the Marriott not in the peach tree area Atlanta and the gag was that there was this guy whose name was last name was Diphu Leon uh-huh and it was really long nonsensical thing and going to put that in the movie yeah so Verna. Pouliot was born yet name got a pretty big laugh during the screening. I was glad well so let's jump in to some of these pieces we were talking talking about and then we might have a few other questions for you on the way but I mean just starting right from the top computer chess. I hadn't seen that. Have you heard about it. I remember when it was making the rounds and it sounded really good and like many of those films. I just never got around to it. Good pull Josh. Bill good good I I'm going to it's top of my cue now so it's something well what about desperate living John Desperate so I would. It's John Waters waters. It's kind of a blanket where John Waters in general has always inspired me a lot..

They were released the twins who had made no comment on the charges are laughing at the rule of law in this country. I don't know what that means. But here's the joke. The thirties had no choice as the court ruling made clear from the evidence, we have we can deduce that at least one of the brothers took part in the crime, but has not been possible to determine which one because they share ninety nine point ninety nine percent of their genetic information identifying those differences would amount to dissecting the suspects. It's the only way our hands are thing. Their hands are tied in a case like this. He's just like there's no way unless were like dead the law doesn't allow us to detain someone indefinitely just because he's suspected of a crime this may be different elsewhere. But I'd rather live in a country where someone guilty is not convicted for lack of conclusive evidence than in a place where innocent people are locked up. Wow. This by Trinidad I I love to we met him. One. What if they both did it? Well, that's I mean, there's only one you can't Pru. Yeah. The that's what they're saying is like. But we can't prove sweat. That's what I'm saying. Because you don't know those are two different people's drops of sweat. Right. Tricky. And is really I mean. With cry. What they're saying is that you and Dave could get away with crime in Germany, but maybe not here the twin clause. I love it. David. A movie you're getting away with any crime Yuan, essentially, looking Edward Norton plays you could see that. I mean, it's got to be Edward Norton debut. Don't look identical days. More of at credit fat playing. Lucas put on thirty pounds. No. I got the perfect person for me. I'm just trying to think of his thing. He plays Bush invite. In a row the notifications hundred great super producer, indeed shit shit shit. Sorry, boys. Fantastic. Catch of the day. I think I salute the twins. Although does sound like they're, you know, the they're habitual criminals, which I don't mind either they seem like, hey, let's do some petty shit in the end, they you know, the government's not giving that same Rockwell not giving them. Yeah. Sure. A little short. Yeah. I know what? Same Ruckle exciting. Mark get yours. You soda photo of Mulia Pouliot getting Frank. Oh, man. That's that's fun. Thing. Yeah. I don't know. I a lot of people posting about it. But guys, let's give it up. You got away with full jewelry heist. And it sounds pretty fun. They had like ropes, and it seems very cool seems fun way to maybe Davey pitch. A lot of you know, the train thing and the OJ thing heist heist game would be fun as well. I agree will boys right now. It's also time for my favorite part of the show. It's time for the nation. And this is the part of the show where we hear from to lucky fans who have sent their ideas into ideas at twenty vision, biz our Twitter our Facebook on I tend to view, and of course, to our Google voice number in that number is. Like this not not being counted on on this level to make the kinds of plays that he will have to make for Clemson to beats a clear dynasty. I think I'm honed in on clemson's secondary. Yeah. That's a good point against deep. Balls against intermediate throws Notre Dame some points on the board. And it was because he book construct the field the deep ball. Even some intermediate throws. They were there. If two gets time he's going to do a lot better than he in book. I think we know that already know he throws a great deep ball in general. He's super accurate on top of that. Bama has way more weaponry with Notre Dame. We had miles. Boy. We had chased clay Pouliot. Allison mack. Bama goes five deep. I don't even think. Jalen Waddell, had catch against Oklahoma. They go five deep. They go five deep with guys who could win one. Oh, one matchups. Yeah. You can start with Jerry Judy. And Henry rugs he talked about Jalen Waddell goes all the way down to earth Smith junior. They had five receivers on this team with at least six touchdown receptions and six hundred yards on the year. That's gonna put a big strain on that secondary. And I think that's a matchup that favors Alabama. So to that end while we're talking about props the one that jumps out at me. And I'm sure there are more. This is still pretty early on in the game. I think is a really interesting proposition bet on the receiving side because bam is going to put pressure on the sort of nothing guy a third fourth receiver tight end someone kinda in that wavelength is gonna find themselves the really big game here. And like you said he is all or nothing might only. Take one catch for him to get the over there. I really like what's the rugs? Over under the rugs over under is forty nine and a half yards like that one a lot because I do anticipate Clemson being able to get to a bunch just in terms of short hitches and crossing routes. He's so good after the catch not that. He doesn't run deeper outs as well. But he is just so electric with the ball that rugs to me almost feels like a more consistent a safer pick to me to a clips the forty nine and a half, whatever it is minor all kind of interrelated. And in a weird way. I didn't plan this. I swear they all kind of work on what I was seeing when I was trying to do some research on this one. Shing attack from Alabama the under for Damian Harris, rushing yards at fifty and a half seems like a pretty good. I don't like to root for under because it's just thought Ryan, right? "I was on primetime with Bob one time. And remember we were interviewing you this is when you were GM with lease. But and you made an interesting observation, we we started talking with other media do their jobs and everything you're the only general manager I've ever heard admit publicly that. You know, we use you guys. Just like you use us. You know, like he's column they're trying to get a headline or colorful. But if Jeff flare writes that we're trying to do something that helps me someone's gonna read that in the clips most GM's locking collar any so absurd pile on their desk, and they want some read them every day. I don't. But at least most of 'em him the heading to see, oh, you know, Burke, looking to move defensive, and they got clicked on that thing. Jeff player says you look in the mood a census to me. It's helpful. It's it's it disseminating information, and you get some fishing your face with one round the water fish with four so thinking, I think it works. And if people don't don't do it there only. Throw a trade room to try to create something. Absolutely. I'll have no problem using the media to try to create something does that happen more often than we realize, we're we're we're essentially being played not in a bad way. But being played does that happen more often than we realized go because I wouldn't do it without telling you I was doing. Okay, I wouldn't. 'cause you'd be mad at me later. If you say you used me for bait you jerk, and I'd be like, no, I didn't. Because I told you. Okay. I'd say do me a favor we put in there. I'm thinking of moving this guy. Now, you're the Charl may place. So that goes coast to coast about twenty two minutes. Right. So no, I wouldn't use a guy that way without Telemachus ways. Do me a favor. We flow Kessels name next thing. You know, it's a big story. But the power of the trial may police brand is such that all I have to do is go to a visiting game go to a foreign city vice show up in the press box Detroit. We got a big tray going Detroit trial may police. The power of the brand is staggering. Like all Kyle do has to do to start untold rumors show up on a press box or in a college game. Even if he's not watching his guy he's at a college game. There's a high Chicago draft pick their someone will say, well, he's here looking at that high Sukagaw draft pick crazy, but how is that useful to you? If you float that we're thinking about moving how does is that how it works in the room. Or is that are you trying to start something up sometimes your bowl torch and your guy trying to get him going, right? And sometimes you're actually trying to stir up interest because it works guys read the paper and said never would've thought that they're giving him. That was Brian Burke on this week's edition of the lead with Jeff player and Stephen brunt. Get that at apple podcasts and Google play Elliott. So now don't blame us for all the terrible trade rumors out, there know that their son GM leg Burke, who's using us to get stuff out there. All right. This is an interesting one. Yup. From Kosta run. So coast k will the NHL ever award contract. We construction to GM's slash players. Like the NFL does. No. They don't want that. Because. What they want is you to live with your bad contracts of scare you not to do them. Again. They wanna make it as fail-proof as possible for you to escape your bad deals. Allowing reconstruction doesn't allow that. Then why does the NFL do it with great success? Their salary cap is Jain Ormuz and his guarantee contra, and there's no guaranteed contracts. "Let's talk about the about what the the goings on in Wisconsin, Maine, Omay pretend for national politics of already kind of teed this conversation up by talking about the fact that the the house of representatives is in Republican hands even sorry, not probably hands. But but is disproportionately in Republican hands in comparison to the the number of people who voted for Democrats across the country. The Senate is in Republican hands, and is an should not be given the number of people who voted full senators who had democratic the White House is in the. A Republican in spite of his losing almost rate by almost three million votes. And now in Wisconsin, you're seeing an attempt to not just sort of tolerate the status quo. Gratefully by Republicans, but to double down and entrench and critic legislature, which has as you say a majority of people in Wisconsin didn't vote full. But do you think that as the potty becomes? I mean, if it remains if the Republicans reminding the party of white angry people and disillusion and people are disillusioned politics, or is it possible? They could try to pull this sort of stuff at a national level. Wow. That's a that's she's that's a good question. It's hard to imagine them doing it. It is hard to magin them Pouliot. Because of the fact we now have now's Representative. So it would be so hard to see in twenty twenty the Republicans will take back the house as long as Trump is. Okay. So you're at twenty year period. I well, I mean the future of democracy is at stake right now. I mean, let's be let's be more direct about the future of democracy is at stake in the United States and given the developments. Elsewhere in the world could talk about it as a global threat. Well, let's talk about this specifically, and let me just say that the Democrats. The Democrats are failing right now to do what needs doing. Okay. And what needs doing is this the Democrats should be loudly loudly? Assailing Wisconsin Republicans for what they're doing. Now, they may or may not be able to make a difference in the immediate sense. Governor Walker may sign these things into law. But I think it's essential. That Americans generally are made aware of the fact that the Republicans they did it in North Carolina. They've done it now Haas ably, if the governor signs off on this in Wisconsin, and they're doing similar kinds of things in Michigan. So what I'm saying is that right now, the Democrats knowing they're going to take that knowing they've got the house, they should be literally screaming about what Republicans doing around the country, and they should call it. What it is the subversion and assault on democratic rights. Let people here it's so loudly that Americans remember this as we go towards twenty. Twenty. You know, you said before about an unfree society is a society in which all you think about all the time is your grand leader. Well, we're not there yet. But all we hear about on the news is Trump, by the way. I can't even believe that given my my my role as a professor I still don't even understand what's going on in France. Because nobody in the news is explaining it. Great a witch fascism Neo Nazis. Underwritten by Russians possibly are. Are are have laid hold of these yellow jackets. I mean, I I have to go literally looking for stories on France in order to make sense of it. It's all the time. Trump in Armenia now to be there. There's a the times did a good pace within the past week, which look which was cold. I think five numbers that explain the Paris riots. And it was it was five looks numbers. And it was the economic growth, right? Which is I think one point nine percent pretty sluggish. It was wage growth in the past forty years. Yes. I did I understand the anger yet. So it was explaining why both extremists from the extremist actually just the left and the right of both pissed off with Macron. Right. And here's the thing know in crises where that we're in crises where abroad left liberal left coalition fails to sort of command attention and influence people and seemed to represent a promising alternative might it..

"I'm super super, super excited about this topic. It's not just about swallowing. It is about the field of communication sciences and disorders. And in my opinion, it extends to many other feels of all kinds of backwards from architecture all the way to medicine. We as many if you guys know are in a female dominated field. I believe we're about ninety five percent female. And so what that means is that there's this assumption that women absolutely are the drivers completely or have ninety five percent of the accolades. Well, who we have today is a special guest. Somebody who I've known for many years who did a post doc where I did my post doc and her name Nicole Pouliot. I'm going to have her tell you who she is Howard, introduce yourself and then we'll go from there. Hi, thank you so much for having me NS. I'm Nicole Rogan. Police. I'm an assistant professor at the university of Wisconsin in the departments of medicine in surgery and also director of the swelling and Salvi bioscience lab at the Madison VA hospital. So how Nicole is a very. Aspiring and sought after future Dr Roget's pulley at the time she had not finished her PHD pulled me aside at a meeting many years ago and said, I'm thinking about doing a post doc where you did your post doc. She had just finished her post doc, her doctoral degree or getting ready to finish with Dr Jerry Logan. So she was obviously from amazing pedigree and was moving on to thinking about doing a post doc with JoAnn Robbins where she did complete our post doc and it was refreshing that she, she was just a refreshing human being. Everyone who knows in Opole knows that's who she is. But since then we've continued to communicate just about life and kids, and you know, being speech pathologist with PHD who focus on swallowing. So we have a lot in common and to Nicole. If you don't mind, I'd like to start with how we ended up writing a paper that is entitled, what's the title Nicole forgotten. So excited. Yeah, I know it's easy when you kind of move through these things to forget. So our final title that we had accepted is how gender stereotypes may limit female faculty advancements in communication sciences and disorders whom that is a title, right? So how our to swallowing experts who are whole career was really focused on swallowing swelling, swallowing or whatever we're interested in terms of the physiology of something. How did we end up writing a paper about our field that extends takes from so many other fields but accents so many others as well? Well, I recall that Nicole came. You came to the critical thinking and dysphasia management course that Docker Plowman and I do and happen to be the one in Gainesville and because you're coming to Gainesville, we really wanted you to give a talk to our group. And so just before the talk, you and I just sat down and started gabbing. And I mentioned to you that I was just physically at Asha reviewing Gretna. I wasn't reviewing grants was doing one of the mentoring training programs. They have there and where I would seated..
