"Also, anchorman Poul Rasmussen. Morning, Paul. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving there He was good. Thanks. Nice and quiet, Berry. Good. Good. Now, all hell's gonna break loose today because you had the bar's closed down on what? Wednesday afternoon at five, because, Well, you know, the restrictions that they had on restaurants and bars to serve alcohol wasn't enough, apparently so they didn't want people getting together and having No. Too many drinks and too much socializing. And then yesterday we had a socially distant Thanksgiving where people could only have well no more than What 10 people from three different households in one home at one time. Yeah, I drove around when I went to my feast. I noticed that you know, roads were really quiet. There weren't a lot of people on the roadways, and there were not a lot of cars in front of house's. That's what I noticed when I drove through the South Hill. So it was a very quiet, quiet day now. I did see a few cars. But you know what? It wasn't enough was not enough for me to pull out my cell phone, Take some pictures and college cops on somebody that's for sure. Okay? Was looking, though, Paul ready to take some action Photos? Yes. Citizen's arrest. Put the turkey down. Just like Barney Fife. Thank you. I haven't I came across an episode of Citizen's arrest on the Andy Griffith Show. Not too not too long ago. Every once in a while. I just stopped and watched, like, five minutes of it. Yeah. And I think it was going to pile. It was Gomer, who made a citizen's arrest of Barney. All Really, some kind of been infractions have been a minor traffic infraction, lawless law, man, but no, it it. It was quiet yesterday at my place to very quiet. My apartment complex. Very few cars had moved throughout the day. There were a lot of empty spaces. In my place, and I think people went to wherever you know, but the but they were all full again this morning. So, yes. So when I left, so I worked in the morning and then I went to my apartment and when I left about one o'clock To go have dinner with my parents, and there was Now the parking lot was full. When I came back around six or 6 30 in the evening, there were a few empty spaces. They're about five or six empty spaces. So So people were out there having fun? I don't know. I hope it was at, you know, small family gatherings like there? Yeah, Like I said, I didn't see many cars and driveways or anything like that. Or or, you know, blocking the street or anything Like what you normally do. You might see 10 cars in front of one house or something like that. You know, people having fun, but sister described that when I was talking with her, I was speaking with my sister in Seattle last night. And she said in her cold a sack. Pretty much everything was buttoned down. But there was one house where they're about 10 cars. Yeah, she she wasn't too happy to sneak through the bushes, and it's sort of peek in the windows. You're smiling and having fun, grab some action photos and then call Governor Inslee. Yeah, my neighbors are having a blowout. A look like they're enjoying themselves. So you got together with your folks, then? Yeah, my mom cooked, she said it wasn't £11 turkey. I carved it up and ate it. So it was my mom. My dad and my sister in law made it so niece is and my brother did not make it for different reasons. And, um You know, Normally I'm down in Virginia, my other sister's house and there's 23 people. They're having a good time, but not this year, so it was much more subdued, which it was very nice. We actually had a long conversation. We sat around the table for a couple hours just sitting there picking away and my mom makes tremendous pies as well. So there you tell you I had the pecan pie and a piece of pumpkin pie as well. He had to do and I made the whipped cream. So What did you do with the whisk by hand? Or did you use a mixer now? I used the mixer. Okay, so I cheated. But Yeah, no cool. Whip. I just straight out heavy cream. I mean, if you're going to do it on Thanksgiving, All right, go all the way have increased the real stuff. You know, my grandfather and my father both where Baker's Oh, wow. Um, my father stopped being a baker. But he used to make homemade cakes and pies and bread for the holidays even after he retired. So when you said, you know, you like to make pies the first thing that went through my mind was the way that grandpa and my father used to do that We lost my father this year. So this is the first Thanksgiving my sister. Doesn't have him at her table, so she's really missing him. But she did whip up a couple loaves of his famous cheese bread. And, Yeah, I assume they're fed ex will deliver them to have a beginning. Any of that? Oh, I I have to be there to get a hold of because all goes so quickly. But it was just her and her family. Even my my other sister. Stayed home. She wasn't feeling too good. So yeah, that's the same thing in my my case to, you know, did a little turkey breast roast which came out great. I was really pleased. I came up with a little rub for it. Uh, it's really simple. Yeah, Roasts are amazing. People don't realize what that is. I mean, it's just just just a pan low foot. Yeah, it's like a It's like a what can I say? It's a tenderloin. A big, great, big, tender land. Mine was a pound and a half. Wow. Nice feast. Well, I'm gonna be in turkey a lot of it so that I cooked up all the other stuff that you know, green beans and stuffing mashed potatoes, So I think everybody had Some sort of Thanksgiving dinner. And as I was saying yesterday, you know, some people were upset about the situation this year, and you can't be. All you can do is I'm gonna make myself a good meal. Regardless what it is most people turkey and I mean, it could have been a simple as deli turkey on toast with tomato, a slice of bacon and some mayonnaise, or it could have been deli turkey on toast with a little bit of Cheese and bacon on it. A little turkey. Devon Shark could have been anything. Yeah, just enjoy it. And when you're sitting there don't feel bad for yourself. Because you're not with whoever that you normally are with. Just think of all the great memories like your dad being a baker. My sister sent me the best picture. My grandfather and my father standing in front of the this great big oven at the bakery, my grandfather's bakery and my dad's kept like a bunch of loaves of bread that have just come out of the oven in his hands. And grabs the standard, both wearing their whites. We called him the whites, the white shirt and white pants. My dad was a handsome son of a gun. I think he was probably about 25 30 at the time. So you're fishing for the compliment? No, I don't think I look anything like my dad. I really don't. I don't think I look much like my dad at all. Probably looking lot more by like my mother's side of the family, but anyway yeah, that picture. Is that what you're talking about? A great memory. I have a lot of great memories. Yeah, Yeah. My my family down in Virginia sent pictures up, you know of this year and then also my sister in George's and pictures of previous years there were none of us were together, but then we played this neat little thing. On, you know, we made fun of each other. It always ends up making fun of each other. But then a text game that ensued from that of sent a picture of a Disney character who looks like somebody else in the family type thing. It just sort of devolved into that..

"Poul Rasmussen, Kevin Battle way Gonna be shut down. I know, Dr Levine said. They're trying to avoid that. But let's take a look at what they're doing in Philadelphia, because that's in our state. You Talked about yesterday. Other places like Michigan, Even Ohio and Texas. That's having really major issues with Cove. It are those lockdowns coming here. I think so. I think so. I agree. I mean, I wore my mask. I was told if you wear the mask, it'll stop the spread didn't stop the spread. Well, we're having a major outbreak here. No. And you did that. Apparently. And where you're going And who are you with and Where are your papers? I mean, It's non denominational, non political the virus in terms of its spread now. It's permeated just about everything and everywhere. Even the remote places of the country in the world, for that matter, could North Dakota right? South Dakota, just like a wildfire is that they The woman that's the head of South Dakota. She's the governor Christie Gnome. Yeah, she's On stereo. That was Kevin. That was very impressive. She's an anti master. So she's saying that she's not listening to anybody. If Which isn't helping the situation. Know that kind of stuff never does. But I mean, the people bring up the argument. A look. You know Allegheny County very good at wearing masks, and we're having an outbreak. But I mean, let's take example the last newscast. We have. The students of Plum High School were invited to a homecoming dance that was sponsored by a parents group. And they all went to this event location and apparently mask wearing was just not the thing. And one of the students has tested positive. And now 150 of them have to quarantine basically did contact tracing trying to chase everybody die. And this, I think is in a nutshell. What's the what The problem is, that's what I'm not the math parents group having at homecoming thing, because I want my kid to experience how I'm coming. Just like I did so much fun. I guess what? You can't do it this year and well, you can if you wear masks. And that's the thing you know. I mean, in each of our surge when we've had an uptick the first one back in the spring. What? What? What did that proceed? The kid's going to the to the bars in Oakland and down on the South side on Carson Street, and now we've got people going to Halloween gatherings. And we have people having little family get togethers, and I mean the Fitzgerald on Bogan of both said that they've what what contact tracing. They've been able to accomplish with the people who will cooperate shows that people have been in close contact with other people at some type of an event of party at their home or something like that. I've been laying low, but yeah, A lot of people are not. We're doing what we're supposed to do. And you know what the interesting thing is that how they say that there won't be that red. Yellow green system just blew just blue and you know, but there will be targeted mitigation and it'll be harsh and it'll be done on the local level, Maybe a county level or things like that. That's how it's gonna happen in San Diego. They're having a slightly different issue there, have there in the most restrictive purple tear. So there you go there and color blind I'd really be the lost, You know, that closes everything from restaurants, museums and churches, breweries, retail shops. Except strip clubs. "News organizations. They deliver the day's national and international headlines to me. I know you probably get the same type stuff yourself. I get it. We all we all partake in it. You know, you signed up for an e mail alert again it I get it. So I get mine. For many, many different outlets of it is one way for me to gather data on. You know, I'm a rather independent person. I don't know if you could figure that out already. I ultimately boiled down all the information for myself. I have several sources each day alerting me. They include local national international mainstream, Not so mainstream leftist organizations, right right organizations. Like I said, I'm independent. I figure it out. I really feel confident that I get a complete picture of the events impacting the world. Now there's no way that I have time to read each and every one of the stories that they send. But You know, I I could grab the quick headlines and If I need to. I can get more in depth. Just you know how it's done. You often hear how Important that the media is and it is extremely important, especially on a local level. You have Jodi Steel running around getting you all that information every single day. It's amazing how much information he gets you. Tells you stories that you would never hear. Otherwise. We're so lucky to have people like Joe And man Gino and Larry and Poul Rasmussen and And Rose, Ryan Douglas and Doug Saltzman, who was just on the air with man Gino. Very lucky to have those type of people that can boil things down for us and get us the information we need. So quickly. But on the national level today what Ah failure Oh, my goodness. You know? Sometimes you see some lopsided reporting on both sides. Sometimes you see fair reporting, then an unfair reporting the term fourth estate fourth power refers to the press in the news media and its capacity of advocacy and ability to frame political issues in our country. But it's not formally recognized as part of the political system. It does wield significant indirect influence and power. Just a social media does right now. Today was a slam dunk for the headlines that you get from the national news outlets in your inbox, and they failed. Yeah. I mean, you can guess the top stories right? RNC wraps up with President Trump accepting the nomination. Your Hurricane Laura, the World leader steps down in Japan. Those those were your top ones. But today a major event was missing and not covered at all. In the initial brief, cursory morning alerts from various news outlets like The Associated Press. I get there's email every morning. Wow. Americans should expect them to have it right. They did not. A definitive source for independent journalism from every corner of the globe didn't have it. Until it He's not the independent source. They didn't have it into at least 8 15 this morning 8 19. My morning report from them came at 5 31. Comes every morning from the deputy director of global news coordination, and today it read. Good morning. In today's headlines. Trump defies pandemic while White House RNC state attacks Biden Weakened but dangerous. Laura still poses a major threat. March on Washington to commemorate a racially fraught time and an exclusive. Brazil's plan to protect the Amazon has opposite effect. Then you scroll down a few more paragraphs. It notes that Trump painted a grim picture of the American city is run by Democrats. Followed by a paragraph that reads RNC PROTEST, Hundreds of demonstrators gathered around the White House for a noisy demonstration and dance party to drown out Trump's speech. And then on to the other stories. The Hill newspaper, which covers Capitol Hill, for crying out loud with similar Washington times, just a new CBS. All of them seem to either miss or just not right about a big story in the New York Post had it. They're update arrived at 7 10 in the morning. It was their six story. At 8 21 this morning Eastern Los Angeles Times update made no mention Fox News who I did work for on their serious except channel did have it. They're update came to me a 2 30 in the morning. Until oftentimes the TV spins, But the website even gets ah things. Ready right on Fox and on CNN. Both of them. Try very hard. Trust me. I've been in both organizations. I get it. I know. But back to my point here a cake. A radio Larry Richard Poul Rasmussen and producer Rob Graner had the story at five o'clock this morning. If you were listening five am before everybody else right off the top. Paul's excellent monitoring breaking news. It is a tough, intense job, and you know, there's you know, lose rooms aren't that fool anymore? But they had this story first thing in the morning on K T K Radio morning show. Fox again alerted Mia to 30 the rest Shame on them. What am I talking about? Well, ah U. S senator was mobbed in the streets of Washington, D. C last night following President Trump's acceptance speech. Police protection was necessary there, screaming, yelling, spitting on officer got shoved into the senator. It was a mess. Many of my early morning news feeds, ignored or were not even aware of the story. You have to click one story than another story to actually find it mentioned in a paragraph of Ah Ah, third story. No major waves were made no alerts. Other than the loan organisation at 2 31 this morning. What am I talking about? But they're also threat, saying Shout shouting, Say her name Briana Taylor. And it's like you couldn't reason with his mom. But I'm actually the author of the Briana Taylor Law to end no knock raids. So the irony is lost on these idiots that they're trying to kill the person who's actually trying to get rid of no knock raids. Yes, a U. S senator was mobbed in the streets of Washington, D C last night and that Senator just happen to be a Republican. An independent thinker, Dr. Rand Paul, the senator from Kentucky. It was evolved by a group saying, Say her name, say her name Briana Taylor. He says without the police there, he would've been dead. Many guests and dignitaries were harassed, screamed at as they left the White House grounds following the president's speech and that gorgeous fireworks display A U. S senator was mobbed and swarmed. And thank God the police were actually there. The Metropolitan Police.
