So you might say that's not reproduce. What could be there that would cause it to be that Believe it or not. The majority of homes around the globe are sub $1 million. And so when you get above a million, you get a much greater exposure through Christie's. We have a gorgeous set of homes come into the market one we just put on the market and Potomac at 1.4 million. 1.45 Excuse me. We had multiple offers, and it went way higher than the asking price. And I'm not. We're still going through a couple contingency, so I can't share exactly where that's gonna land. But we could say is 1.45 and the house is essentially all original, but a nice, beautiful home in terror in Potomac, that house if you're if you're in the luxury home, and maybe you haven't done a lot of updates. "I'm Jason, Lex and Dawn. Let the Christmas genie out into Jase. I sure did. I sure did. And I I was hoping to do that, but it looks like it's next weekend for me. Well, I had hoped to do, Mohr but I was kind of sidelined. Ah, I was sidelined yesterday on and s. So we only got our table done Our Elizabeth Reese. Ah dining room set done. I call Elizabeth Reese because she loves that Colin and I leave our table set throughout the year Just in case someone drops by So we changed over to our our winter display. So we did the table and we did the tree and I am not joking. I I believe this is probably accurate, if not very close. Rarely have I ever received so many direct messages. Following the posting of an insta story I posted a picture video of the tree. And the table on my instagram account. My personal one. And I woke up this morning with like 30 messages, which doesn't seem like a lot, But really, it is. I mean, I don't care what the topic is. Usually I'll get maybe 56 messages. Or responses to a post to a story. People were loving it, and I think there's just kind of a yearning for something nice for something, you know, festive. So it was really nice. Nice I was I was just waiting for you know the other shoe to drop, but no people were all jolly about it. No, no looks fantastic. Well, thank you, sweetie. I know the shoe drop when I guess I pissed people off with my Kornacki tweet, which were my Kornacki post, which this again hysterical cause It was non partisan. It was just about a TV guy, but whatever people are sensitive nowadays, but no, I was so related cause I you know, Colin and I put it up. I haven't been feeling great. So that was what I was. That kind of slowed me down. And then Colin. It wasn't feeling great. So we were moving kind of slow motion. So I was like, Okay, you know, Should we pull out the stags, you know, so we pull out all the we're waiting on that probably for midweek, but the tree's done the table's done and I woke up this morning and I walked out into the room. And it just made me happy. I turned the tree on while I was getting ready, and I'm like, Oh, it just feels good because now I have two months of this because you work so hard to put these Christmas decorations up. Traditionally, they're only up for like a couple weeks and for us, you know, we always We always we leave on Christmas. So really, I'm I get a week less. So that's why you keep it up through March. Why not? She goes here. She goes down through mom, that whatever you want. I mean, not even like through January, she says March, he says, marched on ground up into a roundup till ST Patrick's Day. Yeah, Dog, she's well, She's telling me she wants me to replace mice. My gold bulbs with green bulbs come Turn it into a ST Patrick's Day tree and number two. You got Valentine's Day. Help, pretty. Would that be hearts up? No, no, no, I'm good. I You know, I was then a soon as we get back. As soon as we get back from our Christmas break, No, that that blank comes down. I almost cost that. Oh, no, no, no. He comes and oh, then I want it down. Unlike OK, I'm sick of the music. I'm sick of the decorations. I I just want it gone. And so, but it's up now. If you want to see it go follow me on Instagram. I sure could use some new ones because I lost 100 over the weekend. People fleed like rats from the Titanic, but go see it, And we're really we did. A silver and gold motif was once did you have to buy a whole new getup for your tree or wars? Did you have those in storage? It's funny that you ask that, Lex because really, don and I were again. We We didn't care. We we gave up. You left Took days off. There was nothing right down there. Wait. Did you laugh Dawn when she's laughing? Oh, no, we We searched a Pottery barn on Friday. Didn't you were looking from which stags happily dawn pigged out ornaments and it was OK, So this is what's so funny? So we're not. We're not joking, Lex. On Friday the Starbucks Holiday Cups were talking about the release of those dawn got, you know, was mentioning the recyclable one that you got that you got on special that day. So then we pulled up the Pottery Barn website cause they're seasonal stuff is out and they had a big sale. The Dawn's going through looking on going through looking dawn found some ornaments that she liked. And I'm not kidding. Don we? Colin and I, we We ventured out of the house once and we went to Pottery Barn. Ah Wei went through and Collins I hear the ornaments Don wants their over here, and I'm like, Well, I think she's joking, but sure, let's go look at him so but Ah, no. So we really didn't get anything new were like, Let's get everything up that we have and see where we need where there's a good okay. I wasn't sure if that was a new motif. You know, Subversion way We mixed it up. We had gold. We had silver and we have red. So what we decided to do was go with the gold and silver beauteous. Yeah. Yeah. So that's what we did, and so old. It made us like last time we got done, and I just It made me feel it. Just put a smile on my face. I was so excited like it's just good to see just it's festive and the smell even though we have an artificial tree. Um, that we bought these candles at Bachman's that don't I wish I could think of the name of it. Colin, Hold on a minute. I'm going to talk about but I do like them, or is it you know you like him? It is a aluminum. Lex I l l U m E. And I and I hear that they're that candle has made him in a soda and I got the bowl. Cem in cedar on DH. It's a soy candle, and it smells. Riel and not that fake crap that makes you gag. It's a just a nice kind of Christmas tree smell If you use an artificial tree, and we do we switched over a couple years ago, and we've never looked back like if you look at my tree on which to because of the dog. Yeah, totally like if you go right now, if you look at my tree I don't think it looks fake. I I don't think it looks like you went out and hacked that thing down its huge. That's 10 10. Ft. I love it. Did you get the plates You were talking about that you wanted I'd see Cem. I'm back on the Pottery barn. Thank you. There's some really cute Christmas plates. Did you update We did not. Because you know what? If again If you so so desire to follow me. You'll see you're sounding more pathetic. And I know I'm doing it on purpose. But I need to replace the 100 people that unfollowed me because they were so enraged that I posted about Steve Kornacki. But anyway, if you look, no, it's funny that you ask that dawn because I'm actually really proud of those plates. And here's why there's a cute little and I think everybody has this benchmark in their life. Those plates on my table, though they look fancy and the table scape looks fancy when I'm what I'm so proud of those plates are from target. And they were one of the first nice things that I bought for myself when I started having a little bit of disposable income when I when I started working at my talk, and I had a secondary income wasn't a lot, But I was making enough where I wasn't.

"I mean you can go put a couch out new driveway but you probably go sell it for ten bucks whereas if you put it on craigslist or facebook marketplace. I mean I sold a dresser for three hundred and fifty bucks. You know that paid six hundred dollars for a brand new and you we use it and then sold over three fifty. I was this standing so I mean it is and look. This is what I'm going to go against something that you probably will be surprised. My wife has shown me that sometimes this is where brand names actually do benefit. She showed me on some children's clothings where she could buy this brand. That costs a little bit more but the market value on resells for some of this stuff was over fifty percent you re it retains overseas value. Same thing with furniture like if you bought a pottery barn dresser you gosh. Nothing seems over-priced because I could go on wayfair and buy some. That looks very similar. The Resale Market on like Pottery Barn is much higher. So there's some some take you somebody because I you make me feel better about some horrible decisions that I've made. I've done other custom stuff like we have a custom couch we bought we first got married. You know it's one of the things we start having some success. You'd like well. "This is the one I did the whole show for my wife said she had that bad nightmare that I'd pass away. She wasn't going to have access to the Bank accounts. Guys. There's an easy solution to this. And I realize I had a gap. Even though I've been doing network statements from my wife for the last two decades. I had not created a way for her to have easy access to the accounts. You know, what the best thing in the world. And by the way, this is also good create a lot of security protection for you last pass. Now, look, I get nothing. I didn't register for any affiliate links or anything like that another several players in this field. But I, but I've had experience using last pass and out. I think it is phenomenal. Because what we're able to do is I created several shit. Basically, I went into my last pass accountant if there was any financial accounts that I had for our for the couple credit cards mortgage. My Bank account statements are investment accounts shared account access with her, and it was a very easy thing. She's got her own last pass account. I've got mon-. Now, we have a shared a council of I ever need to update passcodes or anything. But it will update it right there on the app. And here's a cool thing about last pass. And now we have to remember one big awesome pass code. And then it does everything else. I am up to have over a hundred accounts last pass. And none of them have the same. That's one hundred users a pass, whereas you get out of here and make sure had secure separate news. The truth of the matter before I'll use last pass. I thought I had these awesome passcodes. But when last past kind of inventoried what was going on. I had about six to eight different passwords different versions nine right? Right. And it was my Pottery Barn user, ID and password might have been very much the same thing as my mortgage or my Bank account. That's her Rendez from a safety perspective because a hacker could get in. It's gonna be much easier for them to get into that database at Potter. I'm not picking on say a retailer is easy for them to get more salary. Easy for them to get access through a retailer, and then potentially go and try that same user ID and password on some of the bigger financial institutions where they could cause a lot of turmoil for you get that in addition to making you more secure, it's give access to your spouse if something ever happens to you. That's that's priceless. That truly is priceless. And believe me, my wife as soon as I gave her access because I spent an entire evening going in there and set in her up, and then transition we that whole night. It wasn't a date night. But it was just a night of sharing since the not happy but relief relief of knowing she now could get to those accounts is something happened. It is husband that made me feel so much better knowing that was just one more transparent thing that was shared. So now, not only did she have the net worth statement. But she also now had access to those accounts. It just made me feel like is a marriage a really healthy thing. And here's the last any kind of close it out with what is your? Household backup CFO plan. Now, I say this on purpose. This is very deliberate in the fact that we have so many brilliant money family listeners viewers that you guys can do this in another life. I mean, we have two pilots that our clients that no doubt these guys coming from like engineering type mindset, they could've done this for a living analytical as we are. And then I remember when they became prospects.

"Dr harms from is it like the image of what we should be or should what? That's a great question. I mean party I wonder is if it's because just both my husband, and I happened to grow up in suburbs. And so I happened to grow up on the end of coal to sack. Right. So I don't know what part of it was this desire to to recreate the way I grew up. It's got to be a little part of it. But I also think that there's this yard I dunno pressure. I think as a parent to feel like you're doing the best for your child. And for some reason, I think that there's this perception that the best for your child means that your child has the following physical material things right of a house, and you know, space and yard or whatever it might be. And my kids love where they are. They you know, they've adapted to their environment. N. And I think some of it was maybe just projecting. These Glick quality is that I feel like we're just supposed to be supposed to be true. And then, you know, I don't know if you feel this way too, but you know, maybe a little bit. But it is just I mean, gosh, those home renovation show is alone. You watch those. You're like woo is my house supposed to if my husband like that Pottery Barn kids catalog in the mail, and you know, my kids are pressed at age thirteen workers in. I'm like, I need should I have another like, what am I doing? I really eat them buzzy beanbag chair, and a you know, monogram. But now, I don't need that. We don't need that. And yeah, I think that's some of it too. Because I remember when my kids were little you have this idea of I don't know your want them to wear these cute little clothes, and they throw up on the cute little close. So like really who? Are you doing that for you know, like if votes were? Were presented with amendment images that we try to recreate typically don't line up with the reality of what it's like to be with little kids all day. So how do you mind kind of walking me back to where your started in your career where you thought you were going to go and kind of help us understand help me understand your journey to get where you are today, which you know, you're at the top of an organization running a business. You've got your your family in close proximity. And it it sounds like a great environment..

That's that's cool. Yeah. Did you try it? Well, here's the limitations. But if I had done my research a little bit more ordered it. I don't know. It was about fifty dollars. I got two hundred fifty dollars. I didn't realize this until I got the phone. I have a project. Oh, okay. Well, I had trouble getting it to configure talks website. And I kept getting a. I can configure my voice, you know, which is tied to Google, right? It said connection failed world three forbid. So I did some research on that one. And I looked around and don't it was a problem with Google network. Well, I all realized by looking at some Amazon reviews and looking at some more research out there that you can't use project fi. This is very frustrating. Yeah. So. I use the OB high for a long time. And then I remember they said Google voice is going to affect I had stopped recommending it because they said Google voice will stop working with the with the obese soon. And then there was around somehow there was a reversal. But it sounds sounds like they did make it stop working if you're a fi customer, and you know, even get this little device. It has a big old Google voice. You know in the front, right? We'll voice logo. So some people recommended this, and I did try this, and I got it to work, but I need some recommendations recommendations from you. Limitation. I'm running into it said set up a second. We will voice account. Yeah. There you go. All right. So I did I did and it and it works. It's not tied to my project five. Okay. So I did that and and it configured fine. However, you know, now, I've not just other voice number now. Nobody knows. Nobody knows right. I'm like, I'm like you. I've got all these devices. And it's like, okay. I just had a published one number. Yeah. One. That's what I put on my business card, my Google voice number and I figured well. I'll just forward it to whatever I needed to ring. Exactly. So the problem is is now I've got the second Google voice number. I thought well what if I could do I could board that to my personal phone number? Right. Well, no, it doesn't allow you to do. All man. Why not it's another number? Oh, Google, Google, Google number and this number. It will not let you had the second voice number two four two. So it's like, well, what good is this really gotta do me. You know, because I do have I do have an iphone. I have a I have a I have a project by a break. Yeah. Yep. AT and T will let me interview. No, of course, cell phone number. But some people do call me on some and that will work, but it's like, okay. What do me if I can't can't forward to it? Right. So you have any recommendations. Yeah. So the OB is working with the number. No one knows. And you can't use Google voice or fi in your case. You can't forward it to another to go. So what does it say? When you try to forward it to Google voice number just says, no, no, no. You can't board it to this number light. They have this on my. It's really frustrating. Google. I mean, I guess it is a free service. Right. So FIS not you pay for fi- voice is a free service. So I guess it's not. Yeah. It does say actually on the Google voice. Google fi help you can't use OB high devices. Right. Yeah. I sure did a little research. What he no? I appreciate it. Because I did not know that I did not know that and a lot of other features of Google voice, by the way are not available on five like call recording call switching caller ID. Text message to Email. Yeah. So this is very annoying. Well, I thought you know, what I'm at home, this'll be a pain. But if I had my iphone number. Yeah. You could do that. Other than the boys. You know, give me one thing. To make sure I drink call boarding, all if that's what I'm that's an interesting thing. So you have Google voice. Okay. I get it. What you're saying is have fi- forward to my iphone, which I do already. But I can then you start whatever it is start six three to forward. My iphone to my OB. Exactly. Or are the other way round. Like the OBI called the iphone, right or? No. Yeah. Do that. Yeah. Yeah. And you could even do that permanently. Although. No. When you go to when you get home, you could actually, you know, you do you do a shortcut have you played with the IRS twelve shortcut you could make a shortcut that says when I get home forward my cell phone to my Google voice number. I I heard you talking about that feature last week. Yeah. That was a pretty sure could do that. It can it knows your location. I'm pretty sure although shortcuts let's not get too off topic here, but you're cuts I noticed because I played with it yesterday because I had told a caller I try to figure out if there was a way to listen to your playlist for fifteen seconds each. On. And it looks like the shortcuts won't let me do that. I don't know. Why not? But it doesn't seem to want the obvious way to do. It doesn't seem to work. So I'm gonna keep playing with it. But that's there's a limitation. This is know. Okay. This is what happens when you move into a walled garden, all computing has limitations. But the, but what you'll see is for economic reasons. Often companies limit the things you can do even though there's no technical reason. You couldn't do it. Remember that fi is actually an MVP NO there's reselling connections for T mobile sprint and US cellular. And so they made, you know, t mobile means said, well, yeah. Whatever you do don't let it work with Google voice. I mean, I don't know what the behind the scenes negotiations were. I wanna ask you one more question your voice, and how you're using it with your your setup Gano. You're always gonna you phones to value. Yes. That's why I use it. Right. Right. So my question is if I have my iphone, and I'm out, you know, I'm out, and I don't have the hang on a second. I have to take hang on. We'll talk some more to you. Because I I I sense a fellow suffer. I'd like to help our show today. Actually brought to you by remote PC. They're here to help remote. PC makes great remote access offer. Like, I did not go to either of those stores when I was a single woman now that I'm married totally my jam man buried, divorced. Getting divorced paraded women who have a disposable income that maybe just want to have a little fun and host a young, man. There's a bevy of willing ladies at home furnishing stores. With the restoration hardware Pottery Barn. You have women with a little people pockets finds nice sugar. Mom, right. It's a little higher price point there. Right. If I'm going for a more long term thing, I go to those higher end places. Want to hook up for one night? I gotta go to bed bath and beyond. So that was your that was your breaking news that you wanted to blow..

"Now, let's dive into our reason of. The week. This week's reason is the history of sex toys. So we've talked about a little bit well, a lot about sex toys, but if you're new to sex toys, where should you start? What's a good website? You know, we get our sex toys from Adam and eve, but do you have any other places you like to get them? What's good starter toys. Okay. So I am going to go back to the high touchy, magic wand as the starter toys. Really that intimidating vacuum ale and you've never used one, I'd be like, yeah, I'll, but you can put. Like a towel on its make less intense, but another, I guess also if you're like, vibrators aren't for me and you bought the Hitachi, you could just use it for your back. True. Yeah, you can always like disguise it another good starter teuer toy. I like that is the crave vibrator necklace. 'cause it doubles jewelry. It's a really high quality vibrator and it's beautiful. So I would start with that. She by dot com as a great place to buy vibrators. They're like all ethical ethically source, good companies. They've got this great comic book design on their. So that's where we go. Is that like the future of sex toys is like this? Like ecoconscious f, you know, ethical, beautiful design stuff we've been talking about. It seems like it like it seems like as more women get into the industry, like you're getting these ethically source things. You're getting things that would look great on a shelf that looked like they fit in a Pottery Barn catalog like that kind of stuff. Yeah, I think that's a future. Okay..

"I'm proud of it all. It gets. I feel the same way with Monica in the sense of like I'm super OCD about like super particular picky about things, but that's really funny. It's not good found some nice thing, and I run like Phoebe. And what other bad things just like not the good stuff. And then I'm just like a little too attention-seeking, Rachel and a little. And I'm like a ditzy version of like Phoebe and Rachel, a ditzy version of Phoebe like those not ditsy or anti granola e like Phoebe, I'm bigger Noli like hippy, dippy? Like that kind of thing. Love also expensive shoes, like Rachel so hard. Tell you if you what, what character of friends are you must attracted to in the mail sense Chandler, one hundred percent? Yeah, that's like, and that's like my boyfriend to t just like dating hairy. Yeah. Minus the drugs, but like so that's like by far what I'm attracted to because I like the kind of like someone who's annoyingly calm to balance out my crazy. Yeah, don't even someone who's just chill. It's like he's chill to a false, and I'm crazy to a fall short and so it kind of balances it out there, I think. So what's your friends character? Who are you the most like. I think I'm probably most like Phoebe in the what sense in the like we eccentric lake. Yeah, just like doesn't shop at Pottery Barn until she realizes she likes Pottery Barn lit like so much like calcium's until I go to. You do hate things to fall until you. You're like, you know when people are like, oh, they're, they're innocent until proven guilty. You're guilty until they're one. So I feel that though, and I mean like I wish I had a talent like Phoebe. I wish. Hey, smelly cat. Ever. I my God, I will wait. Can you do it when cats the musical movie comes out starring Taylor swift doing this? Yeah. So if you thought the greater shaima was bad. Can we other? I don't know if I can pay for it. I love just saying different pitches. Yeah, try and find out. Where does it come in? Cleveland, Klay fin, not Rockwell, Rockwell. I don't know. Sounds fun though. Yeah, Sam Cleveland. Yeah. So I, I didn't dislike it. I love any movie with British people like sending the countryside, like very pretty. It was nice. I liked it. I think it was, oh, but you're not a cry. I don't think I cried. I don't really cry in a lot of movies. I'm not like a movie Cryer. I also don't like movies at try. Make me cry the last time I remember really crying hard was in parenthood because they scan 'cause I won't watch. Yeah shows. Yeah, feel good show person, but parenthood scams. You because the first three seasons, there's nothing sad. Yeah. And suddenly starts throwing sadness, every episode. It's like, yes, my God. And then you're like, I'm threesies deep and I love this show and like, why are you hurting me now? And I was just so mad about it like I don't get why. But then the last one that I almost cried him, but I didn't was eighth grade Burnham's movie. You cried. I didn't because I got my lashes on that day. "Hey, Julia for London here, three stories you need to know about today. Donald Trump says that dealing with Putin will be easier than his UK visit. So I head of this upcoming visit President, Donald Trump, praised Boris Johnson and described the UK as a quote, situation with turmoil Trump is preparing for a trip to Brussels for a NATO meeting, and the comments come as Prime Minister Theresa may faces a series of very high level resignations over her Brexit agreement. Boris Johnson who is foreign secretary is the most high profile of the recent resignations speaking to reporters at the White House Trump made the following remarks. They do. I have the UK which is in somewhat turmoil, and I have Putin, frankly, Putin. Maybe the easiest of a ball we would think would think Downing Street spokesperson downplayed Trump's comments and said that he believed Trump's at it as a joke. Trump's visit will be met with widespread protests over his policies including a large blimp effigy that will fly over the capital of Trump in a diaper 2018 everyone. Anything can happen. So to start off, I'm going to explain to you how the amazing rescue mission saved the tie soccer team that was trapped in the cave. So in late June, the tie boy, soccer team MU pile went missing as you probably know. They were found ten days later in a flooded cave. And now after eighteen days total in the cave, all of the boys and their coach have been rescued. It's been a whirlwind of a story. And at first it seemed like they'd never be found. Then when they were found, they were told that rescue could've taken months and then retired, tiny seal. Simone Gounon died during the treacherous dive and the risk of running out of oxygen shorten the time line for the rescue. But yesterday, a team of divers successfully rescued the entire team ninety. Divers took part in the operation including forty from Thailand. They did it in three stages starting on Sunday, the divers ventured into this claustrophobic cave. It's really incredible to see how tiny spaces were in the cave and they retrieved two boys at a time. The boys wore. Or full-face oxygen masks, and we're tied with a rope. It was two divers for every boy. One held the child and a second air tank, and the other one followed behind the boys were also given anti anxiety medication to prevent them from panicking through the whole thing. When the twelfth boy was freed volunteers spontaneously broke into song. Every single boy arrived safely. And in surprisingly good condition, they're spending the next week in the hospital though until the risk of infection has lifted and the Thai authorities are closely guarding. The boys privacy overall, everybody thought of everything and everyone did their job really, really well and don't forget Elon Musk, even built a mini submarine that rescue officials deemed impractical. So it went completely unused. Thanks but no, thanks Ilan. So, yeah, the boys are free. Facebook ads are going to start feeling a whole lot more like shopping in a store. Facebook announced yesterday that it's rolling out augmented reality ads that allow users to try on sunglasses, makeup and furniture inside their news feeds. Michael Kors will be the first brand to test the AARP ads in newsfeed, which will let users try on sunglasses and make a purchase within the ad Sephora. Bobby Brown and Pottery Barn are a few of the other brands that will begin testing this technology later this summer. These days, it's not uncommon to open up the paper and read about a dying town that's lost its factory. Recognize that voice. That is the wonderful Audie Cornish and guess what? Today she came into the newsroom and her outfit and her just general demeanor was so incredible. The entire newsroom had to applaud it was amazing. Catch audio on the news show from Busby news profile. We must be news and make sure you listen to our new podcast. The news comes out on Saturdays and you're going to look. Wherever you're hearing voice right now.

"Heading cabdriver hostess said huston's chemo pottery barn i went to bartending school i was a copywriter personal assistant game show contest longer should i clean toilets working adding grinding and try get that out of your head we we were joking after after they recorded that park as you record a song a bunch of different pieces and parts which i didn't know or at least we did it for me probably because i don't know how to sing but we were we were joking around saying that i could just walk around bando the day the podcast launch and just be like and if the person like work grant that i know that they listen to the cast and if they don't they'll be fired just kidding it's not a job requirement to listen to my podcast i actually kind of expect that people that know me won't listen to because they have listened to me talk all the time and this is ripple but don't have to listen to me talk all the time and just want to hear someone out in the world telling their life story so that they can relate it to their own life there lies my value anyways so long list of jobs all over the place when i look back at at everything i did so remember i think i said this in the bipolar episode but i was pre law my future was set i i was pre law and i decided to semester before i left college that i actually did not want to be a lawyer which put me at a bit of a disadvantage because i had a major in literature and philosophy left school did a bunch of the jobs that are in that song went back to study early childhood education also went back for a semester study psychology moved across the country after having a nervous breakdown all the while suffering from bipolar disorder anxiety and add without any real selfawareness or knowledge of even a skill set i didn't even honestly understand or relate to the concept of creativity in till i was twenty five twenty four twenty five and i can i can look back now no i was doing like really creative stuff as a kid and again just like everything else honestly just like the mental health stuff it's not like oh shame on my parents for not noticing like because in amongst it i was like couldn't get outta bed super shy but i was also in my closet recording myself talk when i was like ten and like creating weird advertisements for perfume and you know when you when you get to college it's like there there's like the art students and the not art students and i the arts seem very like cool in creative and just different and i at that point in my life didn't identify that way so i was like i must be something else but i i did a bunch of stuff and then and here's the important part i realized what it felt like to tap into a passion and to love a job and to be interested about where can i go with this job and that was so different for me rather than feeling relegated to having to choose what i was going to do with my life because you have to earn money and you have to find your independence and you have to pick a career and i fought that tooth and nail i should call my mom and have her recount the fighting of that because it was not pleasant that was most of my twenties you know where i was nowhere near financially independent i was lost as a person i was suffering i was not in touch with my suffering it have not fully been identified i was just starting therapy but i needed to do something you know i had no efficacy i spent a lot of time on my couch and my parents because they cared about me and love me and wanted to diminish any suffering that they could i was so far away they supported me but you know there were obviously pain points where where my mom especially with like you have to get a job you have to figure out what you wanna do.

"But she went that extra step and she turned and face me and looked me in the eyes and she held me by the shoulders and she said you know what just don't give up just don't give up okay because it took me ten years ten years of noone knowing who i was and then i landed on snl and the my life changed and now everybody knows me she's like but you just have to keep at it okay just don't give up our right ten years you can do it you can do it and then she walked away and it that just change me and i went home and i told my mom and then whenever i would have a low moment lake and pottery barn my mom would get on the phone with me and she would say just remember what molly shannon told you 'have it's ten years y you know it took her ten years so it was just this big shift in perspective for me and i thought right okay okay and i just kept putting one foot in front of the other and then the crazy thing is that ten years later i was at the premiere of my first starring role in a studio movie this was about two years after the office had been on the air and while i was at this party molly shannon walked in and so i walked right over to earn was like molly shannon i have to tell you a story about ten years ago and she was like oh gosh and you did it i'm so proud of you she was so sweet and then we had someone take our picture and i got that picture and say that picture because you know i don't know if after the pottery barn incident if i didn't have that little piece of that little voice of mali shannon and my head if i would have believed that i could have made it a fait just kept with it i also love the we all want molly shannon to be that person and so in guanxi was saying how exactly on right through lives up to how she seems completely under full so we have to talk about additions yes.
