And as Israel has rejected calls the to enact a ceasefire, this attack today has ratcheted up the pressure on Israel and tension in the region. WTOP national security correspondent JJ Green. Blinken U says .S. the must remain committed to providing aid to Israel and Ukraine. Many are again making the bet that we're too divided or too distracted at home to stay the course. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin says the U .S. is well aware of the humanitarian issues at stake in Gaza. I repeatedly made clear to Israel's leaders that protecting civilians in Gaza is both a moral responsibility The Senate, in the meantime, has confirmed Jacob Lew as ambassador to Israel. He served as Treasury Secretary in the Obama administration. The Senate confirmed Jacob Lew by a vote of 53 to 43. Lew promised to stand side by side with Israel's leaders as they respond to the October 7th attack by Hamas. Lew said in his confirmation hearing in mid -October that there's currently no greater mission to than be asked to strengthen the ties between the United States and the state of Israel. U .S. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said after Lew's confirmation that the administration is eager for him to get on the ground and start leading efforts to support Israel and its fight against Hamas but also to help integrate and continue to to lead the get effort humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. Norman Hall, Washington Dire warnings from FBI the about threats to the United States in a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing today. FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that there are concerns that the actions of Hamas and Israel will serve as an inspiration for violent and extremist individuals or small groups to carry out attacks against Americans going about their daily lives. He adds that the agency cannot discount the possibility that Hamas may exploit the current conflict to conduct attacks on American soil. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas notes that a radicalized individual can terrorize using a vehicle or firearm. Allison Keyes, CBS News, Washington. DHS and the FBI warn that climate change, cyber security, the border, and fentanyl are also threats to the nation. As the Israel -Hamas war carries on, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has his focus on combating anti -Semitism here in Commonwealth. the He signed an executive order to fight anti -Semitism and other forms of anti -religious hatred. was The order issued tonight. It instructs law enforcement agencies to share and coordinate more about potential anti Semitic acts throughout a situation room. Youngkin is telling CBS warnings that hate is on the rise. We have seen a massive increase in anti -Semitic threats across the Commonwealth. And also I know that members of the Muslim community are worried about backlash. Youngkin's order also asks higher education institutions to turn over updated safety plans and instruct school divisions to promote safety resources. But the main thrust of this is sharing and coordination about potential anti -Semitic acts through situation a room. Justices Today heard arguments in two cases involving lawsuits filed by people who were blocked by local public officials. One stems from critical comments made to school board members in Southern California. The other to a city manager in Port Huron, Michigan. The cases forced the court to deal with the competing free speech rights of public officials and their constituents in a rapidly evolving virtual world not clear where the court would land. Democrats on Senate Judiciary Committee say they plan to subpoena Republican mega donor Harlan Crow, as well as conservative Federalist Society Executive Leonard Leo. The committee wants to know more from them about their roles in organizing and paying for luxury travel for Supreme Supreme Court justices. Surging Virus Has Michigan's Whitmer at Loggerheads With Biden
"About two. Dozen hospitals in the great state of michigan are at ninety percent capacity or above as that state steel. They're saying that when his hospital tried to transfer out some of its patients with the most acute needs. Still though even in light of that today. The white house confirmed again that they're not planning to send an extra allocation of vaccines to to michigan. That is what governor gretchen. You might as well future-proof as much as you can in terms of ensuring compatibility with new features later iterations of the operating system if you're a more technical user read up on the software you use. We're not aware of any programs not working but some involved ones like dr required work arounds right now. For example docker is a special case since it's virtualization software and it'll be patch to support the new chips but it's probably a good idea to check whatever software you rely on especially if it's more closely tied into the hardware like virtualization. I had to order a new one I got at the next day I went back in install it and I took the old one out, and I'm looking at the old one, which is made of clear plastic. And I'm looking at it. I go. Wow. What's that black stuff in there? In the The reservoir tank. Well. Bill. Just a month or two later, all of a sudden the manufacturers all together Came up with a filter for the refrigerator. I cost $50 or whatever it was then. But I took that water reservoir tank and I took a little hacks on and I cut it and I looked in there and I go boldly Corolla. Is this poison in here? This is pure mold and mildew and every stinking thing there is that's in the water, okay? I'll bet you somebody died drinking a glass of water out of a refrigerator. And that's why all the manufacturers who don't talk to each other all came up with a filter. That's how serious that filter is in your refrigerator. Yeah. You know what I get that part? I get that partner And if I said all I do is I said there. I never drank water out of there. But you know what I mean The ice in the water the same thing. And, yeah, I get that part. Okay. You know that was something where now just and how he laid those stones out on the ground and cutem and fit of dry fit them in the grass before he's you know, laid one or two rows and then quit for the day. Because of the weight in the mass. Well, you know, before I got to lay brick, I spent two years being a laborer and let me Good way to learn if your eyes are open exactly And when the labour's job Labour's job is the labor, no brick masons job is to lay brick.
