"Textiles all across the country, but one structure considered alto's most famous, was also an experiment in what mass house and could be. And a demonstration of what it lacked at that time. You're listening to tour stories, a Monaco production brought to you by the team behind the urbanist. I'm Andrew tuck. In this episode, Petri butts off takes us to Finland's West Coast to explore villa Maria. Perched on top of a hill surrounded by coniferous forests of western Finland, stands villa Maria. Its facade is a combination of white stone and organic wooden forms, which make it both stand out from, but also blend in with its lush surroundings. Was designed by the famed Finnish architect of Aldo, and is considered a career defining work for one of the world's most celebrated modernist architects. The canon of Aldo's work consists of public buildings where he is creative vision can be said to have been constrained both by budgets as well as the stringent requirements for public buildings. Villa Maria, which all the builds for his friends, the wealthy industrialist couple Harry gulik send and might a gooey zenne ostrom on the other hand is the purest manifestation of all those architectural philosophy and vernacular. In designing the alarm are also given an almost unlimited budget and more creative freedom than he was used to. This resulted in new forms and innovations that would have a major impact on all those style in the years to come and therefore also the Finnish bourbon landscape. Today, villa Maria is in private use by the ostrom family. Here is Nicolas ostrom, explaining how the building came to life. The family wanted all thought to sort of consider it as an experimental house, which gave him a lot of free reign to use a lot of his ideas and bringing in the natural world into the space. So the building itself is surrounded by beautiful pine forests and altar designed, for example, the pillars of the staircase to mimic the pine forest, which is located outside of the building. All dog was by far both a humanist architect and bought nature into the building and functionalism. And I think all of these are highlighted in the building itself through the Japanese inspired architecture that is evident in the garden and the entrance to the actual building itself. These are instrumental in what they wish to accomplish with the construction of the villa itself. For all villa Maria marked a shift from clear cut functionalism that had propelled him into international stardom to a more organic form of modernism and one that was rooted strongly in Finnish tradition in nature. The building's design is used to blur the boundaries between the outside world and the inside of the structure. Its large windows and helpful use of wood such as teak and pine and its undulating free flowing shape stand in a suck contrast to the clean lines and the rational spatial choices of Scandinavian functionalism. The interiors were largely designed by elder's wife iron up and continue in the same vein. Pillars made of wood resemble the pine forests that envelop the building and the shapes and textures are used to create a harmonious ambience. In fact, villa Maria was also thinly veiled mockery of the rigid architecture of his time, architecture that he believed lacked humanity and artistic expressions. The la muera was to him as much a work of art as it was mere architecture. Such is the building's influence on both altos later work, as well as the Finnish architecture in the 20th century that many of the elements and styles that Aldo had toyed with found their way into the mainstream and as such shaped the build environment in Finland for decades to come. They really saw Maria as an experiment to use these ideas in mass housing. Although maybe felt that housing lacked individual touches that often made buildings very impersonal. The villa Maria is more modern in that sense as in emphasizes function above perhaps a certain ideology. It really was a shift between functionalism into more of our organic modernist style of architecture, which has evident in the villa itself. It really fuses finish and Japanese cultures and architectural styles and elements that you can see from everything from the entrance hall to the beautiful gardens around the building. And I think that really represents all those striving to connect the external natural world to the built environment. I mean, this is also evident in the urban plans of saying aoki and draw an Emmy, for example, alto was functionalist that highly valued human centric design. This is evident in everything from small door handles to window handles at the villa Maria to the city plans and different designs that he created throughout his lifetime closest of nature. It was a very important part of all those architecture and he bought that to all of his buildings and it still has a profound impact on Finnish architecture to this day. I think bringing this nature and the play of light into space is really set him apart from other modernist architects of that era. 21st century architects could learn a thing or two about villa Maria's human centric and non conformist approach when designing both private homes as well as public buildings for our cities. One size fits all is almost never the correct way to design and people like their built environment surprise and to stoke their artistic senses. Tolstoy is a monocle production from the team behind the urbanist. This episode was written by Petri butts off and produced an edited by David Stevens. "We're very pleased to be joined this morning by Patrick Armstrong chief investment officer at Terri wealth as we take a look at this market this morning, Patrick, good to have you with us as Karen mentioned we are starting to see futures move a touch higher after two straight days of losses for U.S. stocks coming on to the Jackson hole symposium. Have markets fully priced in a hawkish tone from the fed later on this week? I think they've gotten rid of some of the speculative excesses that was priced in because of everyone was expecting a fed pivot. Well, I don't know if everyone was expecting it but the market seemed to be pricing in a fed's pivot to really move to a stance. I don't think we've heard that from any of the rhetoric of the fed members voting and non voting members are all saying at the most of us they're data dependent and the hawkish ones are calling for 75 basis point hike at the next meeting. So it would be really surprising if we do get anything done out of Powell. I think he's going to keep his options open. I don't know if the market's pricing in something hawkish from him, but I think it's removed some of the excesses about the dovish pivot that's probably not going to happen. You think he's going to keep his options open. It sounds like you're not expecting any further clarity from chairman Powell later on this week. Is that what I'm hearing from you? I don't think he can give clarity because you've got another inflation print. You've got another jobs number coming out before September 21st when they'll be making their next interest rate decision. So he's got to keep his options open because if you have a shocking number on the downside or a really strong number like last time on the jobs that's going to change his thinking. So he can't put himself into a corner. I don't think this Friday. No, what do you think the market reaction will be if that case holds? If the chairman Powell does keep his options open and potentially give investors kind of room to decide where they're going to go. Yeah, well that's the way I think he'll do it. And I think investors have the natural bias on what they think is going to be happening in the coming months. If you are going to positive predisposition on where the economy is going, you'll probably be wanting to buy risk. I don't see any strong economic numbers coming out of Europe, but the U.S. does look much more resilient than Europe. The job market is still very strong, half of companies are still seeing they're having trouble filling job openings. So you can see scenarios where the U.S. avoids a recession, whereas the economic numbers, PMIs that are coming out in Europe are showing Europe's already admired in a recession. Does that mean that you think that stocks have further room to rally at this point? Have we seen the bottom from June? I'm not sure if you've pushed me on it. I'll say yes. I think that's about the lower we get to, but I wouldn't be surprised if we touch that again. And we test the June lows. I do think there's pretty compelling value out there in some sectors. I would be buying natural gas producing stocks today, oil and gas altogether makes sense. But if you can buy the stocks that are producing natural gas right now, they're incredibly cheap, putting a massive cash flow. And they give you a bit of a hedge against some of the stagflationary aspects that you see a big manufacturing slowdown because of energy prices. So that's where I'd be buying, I do think the most expensive stocks are going to see continued downside. So the real innovation stocks that were priced for massive profit growth eventually that aren't generating any profits right now. I think as quantitative tightening really does begin in earnest in September, those kind of stocks probably will make new lows. Looking to take a more defensive stance, I think, is what I'm hearing from you. Does that have you looking more at small cap versus large cap? I'm not really. I just think energy is the place to be putting capital right now because incredibly cheap, massive cash flow generation and it does give you a hedge against the worst aspects that come from the stagflation. And if you've got manufacturing exposure, if you have cyclical exposure, it's going to be the high energy prices that really choke those earnings off. So I think adding those stocks while they're so cheap right now make good sense to me. So not small cap. That sector is really sticking out to me though. The last 30 seconds here, Patrick, what about treasury yields? Where do you see them going off the back of Jackson hole? So I think they'll probably grind higher by year end looking like 3.3 to 3.5 probably at most because the U.S. economy is stronger than Europe, but it is slowing. Quantitative tightening is going to push up yields and inflation is going to remain persistent. So I don't think Paul does get hawkish enough to really choke down inflation expectations. So I think it'll be a slow steady grind higher in ten year yields. Really appreciate this Patrick again, great having you on with us this morning, Patrick Armstrong, chief investment officer at pori me wealth

You don't want anybody to get hurt like that horrendous. I mean they're ugly and as does too many of them have been in a. I'm not knocking. 'em ufc as dangerous for just like you can get hurt my sport and people to get hurt. I know it. And there's for talladega i know. It's sometimes it's awful. It's tough we understand the risk. We we understand that And that's why so. Oh it's why it's so noble glorious what these guys still you know These real life. Gladiators what they do. Take that risk to go out there and put themselves into a realm. Where when they come out of that realm there's less of themself. It's just a degree of how much less as always less. There's always less just just like when the ocean comes up on a short can and it goes back. There's a little less sand does a little less shore. You know it just takes time to realize you come back ten years ladies. Oh my god. The beach they used to be a why. There's no beach here does. There's only five feet of beach with weiss what happened. Safety were fighters. Same thing we'll fight. There's always and that's why that's why i always fight for them and always fought for one. Espn away. i did got in trouble sometimes. Quite frankly Doing that and that's why i always say that. They deserve every said they can make every set they can make they deserve because of the risks that they take every time they step inside that cage inside that ring but having said that these these leg injuries. There's we've been seeing a lot of we saw with chris. Wyman obviously edison silva a long time. Ago i mean just been so many of them and and it's difficult to see them every time you see them. I don't know what you could do. It's part of the inherent risk usually legs you hitting. Somebody's bone on their leg You know so. I don't know but i ended up. I'm not in any way purporting. Myself to be an expert medically or anything in any way. I'm just fight kyw boxing guy. That's been around a dangerous business for a long time. A difficult business for but a glorious business would noble warriors. And i just i wonder if there is anything could could you without changing the whole landscape of it and the dynamic of to a degree. I mean we don't want headgear. Put on professional fighters that changes to sport. I get it. i understand and it doesn't really protect them. Anyway to be honest a neurologist tell you that it does really protect the brain. The best thing you can do is learn how to fight. Learn how to get away from the punches. Look out for your fighter. You know when it's time to to the door it's time to go through outside the door. Then then be that person that takes him outside the door out of that career when it's time to do that But while you're doing dude right. Look out for your fighter. You know wrestlemania between make sure. He's eating like big would make it way to one way you know. Make sure that make sure that is not taking too many blows make sure that he's not over sparring and getting hit too much. Make sure you teaching them. Right ways avoiding punches to the greatest degree possible. You know all that stuff. But i'm just wondering with all these blake brakes. That is so difficult. If without changing the dynamic of the sport really too much could you. Could you somehow fit some kind of some kind of cushion that fits close to the skin that you almost don't notice you know they come up was so many things so many things out athletically. You know the hinge annuity to these things from from a science standpoint. I'm just wondering if they could come up with something that could be put on those vulnerable spots of the lake that you could wear that cushion a bone a little bit. Kushner absorb the blow. Just a little and again. I don't want headgear on a professional fighters. I doesn't help anyway. But if it helped a you have to think about it but it doesn't help anyway. I get it. you don't want to change the nature. The dynamic some people still hate the designated hitter to baseball they hate it. They hate it they said. Oh my god what are they edit supposed pension is is opposed to but us up figure out a way to manage the game now put a h and you change the game you change to you. Know the whole tradition of the gate. I get it. I get it but i just wonder. I think you have to wonder about it when you see more of injuries. If there is some you could put on the ankle area. The bone area of the fibia area. Those areas If you just maybe it helps to thirty degree thirty percent degree. Twenty percent degree ten percent degree. I don't know. But i think it's something that somebody at some point it's going to have to have a conversation about. I know robs gutted keyed. I wanna look at because obviously i. The guillotine moment for me was a turning. Point was a big turning. Point of two of two of the match and another thing was obviously delay kicks because Kinda got destroy by in the last fight. Kinda got taken down by those like kicks magnificent plan by guy he. He got destroyed by them this time he came in saying. I'm going to give some lake kicks and he did and but it backfired on them in a way that he got injured now. We don't know all speculation we don't know for sure it's home the first one to put that out there. But we want to examine everything. And that's where we want to show. And i want to bring up part where he allayed kick stroll by connor and pori h exit. The way you supposed to check like he checks it but then something happens because everyone's trying to guess. Where did it happen to. Did it happened just on a step back. All of a sudden ankle flopped of again disturbing to see where the ankle just flop that it happened. Just on that was that enough force to create that to make that bold break or did it happen with a playa kick with people with speculating with a prior kick..

"I gotta say one thing when when we were breaking it down afterwards we one thing that i really. When he was talking we listen. He could disagree with me and again. I'm say what. I what i've felt at that moment. I disagreed with his perspective where he was basically saying that continuity couldn't win puts maybe it's true Because i made a point of that already but that was so he went. He went for the take down. He went for the guillotine which was a big turning point of the gate of to fight. It really was was a huge element of to fight huge for me and he went for that because he knew we couldn't win a fight and and know he couldn't win the fight. Maybe an all but that was his only chance he went for that and listen. Here's where i disagree. I disagree in fact that what led to it. What led to it where backs i guess was looking at all in his in his analysis. It wasn't thought through where max just said. Oh we went for the go-to he just go for. The data was putting his lap. It was delivered to him. He got put in that position. Not purposely and. I'll explain what i mean by that. The same thing that happened in the last fight happen here and maybe not everyone saw it but does is really good puncher. And he's a really good strike his feet always on him so he's always got leverage. He's he's always good position to deliver a good solid blow. Kinda like in a way. The japanese champion in boxing. You know i've said that before. Where in a way is always a good position always balanced to tro good deliver. Good solid shot and joe louis. Too great joe. Lois not comparing anyone to low. I'm not crazy but joel is part of. His greatest strength was has balanced. His position has feet. He was always in position. To tro. solid punches never never of balance so dozens always set at dustin. The last fight way knocked them out. You know the prior fight before the trilogy fight dustin court that's how he knocked him out. He caught mcgregor getting too close. He drew from to close. He gave up his reach. We heard him with a left hand and any follow up and mcgregor tried to stay outside and act like he wasn't hurt and he stayed outside but what he didn't realise was all the experience we talk about all the time with the ufc fighters while you can have seven losses six losses eight laws and still be a champion because you learn from those you to the fire you get forged by those laws you become something from those that's poor poor ea would. I don't think that he realized was recognized immediately. He knew we heard him. He felt it at a new that even if he acted like he wasn't hurt he was hurt. So what did he do poorly followed up and he had the opportunity up. Because you know khanna was on the outside he stayed there they followed up and he he just took them apart and he was relentless and he finished that was in the mind of mcgregor. He understood that going into this one and what happened. In that first round was he got caught again with a left hand and he got hurt by dustin at does was going to start to open up on them again. Pori did something not pori mcgregor. Did something different this time. Ken mcgregor recognized that if he stayed outside at a range. The flow would have kept going to force it on the force. It would've kept running. The water would have kept running. He needed to turn the faucet off. he couldn't keep that water running because otherwise is going to get knocked out again. So what did he do. He did what we do in boxing. He fell in india clinched. Now i know there's different termine in I know it's going for the shoot. It's going for the take down. It's called but what he did was a boxer move. He went into the clinch. She went into to tie him up so he couldn't continue punching and it did it worked. It's allowed them to survive that moment. Well otherwise you wouldn't have. And i don't know how many people saw that and so that's where it disagreed with macs because macs just said oh he just went for the no he got put into that position because what happened was once he went in for that then does a progression to in phases it. The next progression was what you're gonna wind up to the mat was. Somebody's got his hands on. Someone's going to the mat. So they wound up go to the mat. Once they got to the matt a kind of phone his lap that he got suddenly got a position. He got an opportunity for the guillotine. He went for it. I'm not so sure. He wanted to because he expanded a lot energy and and in some ways it took the air out of the cells and he's still had a lot of ocean to sell. He's still out a long way to sell for more. You know four more rounds. So what happened was he was forced to go into the guillotine whether they liked it or not. It was there. He went to the guillotine. And what happened while. I'll tell you what happened to brands of dust. Emporia of ju jitsu. He maneuvered all my god. It was great and it was beautiful. I mean it was standing on his brand. He's stood on his head and he navigated out of it. He he took the leverage away. The leverage of the you know all around the neck he took it away from from from From obviously mcgregor and any survived at once he did he got on top. He was on top. He stayed on top at any started pounding ground and pound and just started to rain elbows and punches on them any dominated he he just dominated. So that's where. I disagree mac so much so come because when he just said oh yeah you just. He just knew he couldn't so he went for no. He got put into that position with things that happen that you should noticed. That must have missed. That happened leading to that. That put him in that position where you had no choice but to go for the guilty so that was. That was the one thing that you know doing that peaceful. Maxwell disagreed with that and listen.

"The anti bolivar has the mentality of what made him great. That someone else is better than him. Just like here. Economy. Gregor can't admit that Dustin Pori has his number. He has to go to something else. So seeing 1/4 fight of this would be like after this third fight with Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury. Now, whatever it happens that Tyson fury wins the fight. But Deontay Wilder breaks his leg in the in the second round to the first round. And then there's 1/4 fight that we get to see this. Would I expect heading into that fourth fight that Deontay Wilder After seeing what happened to 2nd and 3rd fight, regards the injury is going to win the fight. I wouldn't So it's the same thing here. With how ugly it's gotten for McGregor, and it doesn't take anything away from what he's meant to UFC. But why should I believe that Anything is going to be different? Not something I was stunned by. Because I'm an idiot if I'm stunned by it, But after the fight where the guy Is lying in the Octagon and he suffered an injury. He was the one that told Dustin Poirier before the fight, and I get that's what a lot of fighters say that he was going to have. Justin Pori carried out on a stretcher afterwards. It's a little ironic not that you ever want to see an injury occur that it was Connor McGregor that need to be dragged out of the ring because the Octagon because of The broken light that he suffered, but What I thought like if that just happened. That's not a big deal. What I thought was really classless. It's how McGregor it's talking about. The guy's family or your wife slid into my D and I'm going to end both of you. But in a guns signal a symbol to his head. I thought that was so weak. And it's not unexpected because Connor McGregor is classless. And he's coming off like a big baby. Who is no longer a great fighter, so he has to go back to Alrighty. I'm just going to talk so much crap because he is still a great entertainer. Now, though. That entertainment which used to look back at it before he's a great entertainer and a great fighter. Now I look at him as still great entertainer, but everything he says. I take it with a giant grain of salt. Because I don't believe anything that he says anymore. When you're kicking people's butts and walking in being confident of the bravado. That's one thing now. Have lost four fights in your last seven. So say what you want. It's a lot of want want. Yeah. Trace your big McGregor fam. If memory serves me, right? How do you view Connor McGregor right now. Done. Even both kind of before this fight did that much enjoy done and pathetic. Um yeah. I took all the money that he has in the world. I'll live his lifestyle. There's one thing especially when he's 1 32 years old. Whatever he is, there's one thing to eventually get past your prime. Not everyone could play a sport until the 40 especially a sport like this, where it's a constant beating. There's one thing to be past your prime. There's another to still think that you're a man with your the man And I know it's a tough transition, right when you're the face of the sport. You're the guy. Now you're still popular. You're still important. But when you're not backing up Where how people viewed you. And you still think you're that same guy. You have to eventually admit that something's changed something's different. It's not surprising because this sport is all about ego right and toughness and pride. He takes zero accountability. He still thinks he's the creme de la creme is the filet mignon of the sport. Popularity? Sure. So many people will always watch Connor McGregor. He'll still have Such a loyal following when you break it down, though, in the octagon What does that look forward to? But would you have any excitement for 1/4 fight? Between dust and poor easier. And Connor McGregor. I would have known. Why would I think that Korea isn't gonna kick his butt again. I'm with her. Yeah, the kind of the aura or the appeal. Really? To watch McGregor in the ring has gone into your point. The talk now it gets cheap because you see in the ring recently. He can't back it up like I'm going to murder your family. You can't even defeat this guy that you're trying to murder him and then his family. And I thought it was neat after the fight. You have the classless Connor McGregor Dustin Poirier. In a moment of victory, he's using his time to talk about. Charity and then also Talk about a fan of his that's currently going through a battle. With cancer. I thought that was really classy. Where McGregor was the complete antithesis. And not only was he a jack ass, he was classless. Shut up, Put a binky in your mouth and go home. But he can't do that. Because he still thinks he's the guy from years and years ago where it couldn't be the the farthest thing from the truth. All right, let's real quickly squeeze this in. We'll do a little MLB home run Derby draft as well. I'll have four guys through for you'll have four guys to root for two heads or tails. What he got. Tails never fails. Alright, Heads winds. I'm going first Damn quick, Quick coin toss. I'm not taking show a Otani. No, I think the best thing for Major League Baseball tonight would be for Shelia, tiny to dominate. Think everyone's thinking showing Otani is going to win, And usually when everyone thinks one things that happen usually the opposite does occur. I'm gonna take I will go here. You know what? This has been a big bar stool pick today. I'm going Joey Gallo. Uh, that's my first pick. Joey Gallo. Yeah, fine. You'll take a tiny I will. I want Anthony Galla right there. When I said his name you're taking, uh, tie? Sure. Okay. My next pick. I will go. Heat. Alonso. Okay, You know what? I'll double down. Guarantee myself. Stick around. I'll go. Juan Soto. I like one s O. B. I see Soto tonight. I'm going to put a few shekels down. He's plus 900. I really do like that Pick Okay, I will. Then go. I love this story. Trey Mancini. You know what? I'll guy I'll go with a guy defending home Court or home field here. Trevor story. Nice pick. Not bad. So that leaves me with either Salvador Perez. Or I could go with Matt Olsen..

"The event, and he's kind enough to join us now just hours ahead of the third installment between Connor McGregor and Justin Pori. Mr Azman, How are you, My friend? Is getting I'm trying to stay cool. It is 110 degrees here in Vegas. I have you know, I live in Houston, but I've never experienced heat quite like this. I'm sitting inside the UFC media tent and shortly to walk into T Mobile raid out of the prelims. Are underway. So we're getting closer and closer to the you know, the paper view card, which starts at 10, Eastern, and, of course, the Beta that Justin Pori a cannon MacGregor three. What type of what type of amenities they have in there in that media attention they got fans going on. I assume misting would probably not be a good idea with the amount of electronics is in there. You know, it's a great point. There seems to be some air conditioning. They're trying to pipe in, but want to get When I get to 110. I don't care how much 80 you're trying to pump into a going outdoors head. It's still going to be warm in here that and that's certainly the case. But I will say, give credit to the UFC. I've been through a lot of media availabilities media situations in various sports and The pregame meals. Italian food sentence Top notch credit to the UFC for that the and the meals the meals are what you're going to remember the most anybody that knows anything about media. We remember the meals more than anything. So, Jake, you've been there for a few days. Now. What's the environment like? How would you describe it in Vegas environment? Really, really excited to see it kind of build up over the last 24 hours or so, you know, you everywhere you walk around Vegas. There's a buzz. There's a lot happy this weekend. In addition, To the UFC. But.

"Some things mixing up that calf chick but definitely throwing. Interestingly there is something to be noted about wrestling and conor mcgregor o'connor's rhythm off badly. If you could get a takedown and you could keep that. Take down for a while. If you don't allow him to try to fight off take down. You will throw off his rhythm that This has been proven in the khabib fight and this was shown a little bit in the fight. The thing with pori with the thing is that now is a little bit usa tonos mid range strikes so on those mid and on clinch rain strikes those close range strikes clinching on face to face real ryan right. Yeah so he's using shoulder strikes us a short elbows of forearms which are legal to hurt his opponent. Know what. I mean so if you throw those take zone and you can hold them down for quite a bit. He gets frustrated. He gets very frustrated and those his rhythm all completely it them somewhat of a mental block. Okay yeah so does is going to have to mix this game up of void fighting on the outside and trying to get his range in their dustin good with the mid range striking..

"Live. Let's take a call David and West Seneca, You are on W G. R. What's up, David? Oh, nothing much. Good afternoon, gentlemen. One player. Would imagine is itching to get into NHL who's in the Sabres organization that fell out of flavor favor? Is Lawrence pilot and I'm thinking you throw in Lawrence pilot along with a second or a third round pick. To the Seattle cracking that way. You protect your core players that you want. And that you can, you know, go from there got second round pick that we obtain from the Eric Staal traits. You really not giving up much. I just want to know what your thoughts are. Thank you very much. Thanks for the call. David. I think the compensation for that sounds like a little bit much because the guys I'm really protecting or who Anders Byork. Erasmus, asp Lind, Bargain slash crystalline and if he's not traded, those are the guys in protecting is that worth a second round pick and pilot? I'll kind of like the idea of using pilot as a trade asset, but I also don't There's I've not seen anything in a year. Plus, that makes me think pilots like Itching to get back to the NHL. Like you said he might want to, but he's under saber control. If you could guarantee that the crack and we're taking rest a line in with that I'm all in. You Just want them to take him. Yes, they could just exposed are still lining to make that who they take Sure that but to me Even today, after years of talking about him as a trade asset, I've got to believe that there's more that It's worth moving him and not losing him for nothing. I don't know. The Devils are the team that got mentioned about him early in the off season. They have, like the 28th pick. I can't get that. Maybe not. I can't get the fifth pick of the second round from New Jersey like I can't even get that. Don't know. All right. That's enough out of me on the Sabres today. I'm seven o'clock, I'll be back. But I'm gonna talk some UFC economy. Gregor Dustin Pori. A three is on Saturday. And I typically have Matt Perino on the Friday before Big UFC cards to talk about him in preview him with Matt from New York upstate dot com. But he's going to join me today at seven o'clock as I'm off tomorrow and Friday, so come back for that at seven o'clock. We'll talk to the UFC showing the bulldog up next. Sometimes just they see the the glitz and glam now with the belt. Is the us with you. Know living nice but yet there's a lot of work Like the way actually might. My dad broke it down. The best says when i was younger. Not listening to him. He said this is so. My dad tried to teach me how to when i came back from china. He tried to teach me how to save money. And i was like bob's nobody got time for investing in houses and owning all that shit ob tweet for. Let me enjoy myself. I go broke as fuck. And then when i go to the ufc. He wanted to teach me how to invest properly at us. I didn't listen to this man. Before i went broke like two times over. Probably just listen to this man. Now and yeah. I'm glad i have because you know everything is good in on this on that side. But i lost my thought sp- speaking of that one thing i wanted to ask you before. Turn it back. Teddy is what who. What sponsors are you working with. Outside of the ring because to me are very marketable guy and i always like give people give the fighters opportunity shout out sponsors and the people that are helping them be in this position. So who you work with. Definitely engage engage fight. Where would been with emphasis day dot pretty much on my advocaat's spill you'll see him the cage..

"Thomason. Mcgann's closer to the original there's a silence and it's just kinda like it's quiet morning in this kind of which adds value to like just a like Presenting that kind of that calmness of it. I was so funny as like. I found myself. I'm so used to like certain cliches in like a witch story that like so. She's helping those old ladies. Those little old ladies there fixing the fixing the oven on like this is going to be. The the moment of conflict is dramatic. These are actually going to be evil. Witches they're going to push her in the oven. This is no they're just gonna make some. No they're just going to serve casserole. Red herring pie red herring. We're going to move forward. And they're just going to be sweet old ladies and barr going to try to ride that brown. But she was like bars i was a little bloodthirsty though she she. She is cool. Auntie she's cool onto. Who is like like like ready for that. Blipped go rhino. They're dark past. We don't know dark past but she's like oh my god we're missing the good part again. Watch it crash nice. It's it's a sleepy town so going back story. Maybe there too. Which is that lost. Their power because You know maybe maybe the the the the the woman who owns the house actually her power was baking. Yeah oh baking. Witch them are bar. Marsha might be evil. You know making like a right out of babies like the the the henchman that really wishes that they had powers nearby suburbs very power fees her tombo gear. She's or auto and and yeah tombo pori or kapoor ombo I really there. I'd like him. And i think this again. It's highly ezaki. Loves to do with like dad characters or like how men are with women. They're always like kind with glasses. A little nerdy But they're always so like sincere and so genuine. And i love tom like you. You think he's going to be like a creep. He ends up being like this really like just fascinated with this with with kiki as a as a person and like how again. Okay so i. I can't bear the lead anymore. Like this film speaks to me at such a level because we really start breaking it down like the one thing i love about miyazaki films is that it's not a princess. It's not a general. it's i mean it's it's a normal person that's kind of thrown into these situations and kiki isn't like the greatest which of all time there's which is in every city so even as magical as she can fly she's not even a special to begin with but like to wake tombo looked at her in the way a sono looks at her like she is everything she is so cool. She has magic she can fly and kiki doubt yourself right and the the the the why it resonated me so much because it is a almost a perfect if an i you know it's a one degree away from being the story of an artist or creator who moves out to the city and you know you at the very beginning it sets it all upwards like she's listening to the radio it's like you.

"Up large tonight before I let you go. I know you have the interim belt at home, but it's undisputed golden glory that you crave your thoughts on what lies ahead. We'll see. Man. I felt like this was a title fight. It could be for not coming back. You kind of the two best guys. I think this is a title fight. I'm not I'm the champion. And I'm taking that energy with me into championship Sunday. I don't know about you guys, but By the way, it's 9:52 A.m. Sunday time their day ahead of us in Abu Dhabi, which is in the United Arab Emirates. That's where fight island is. What do you do the rest of your day? I know that they put the fight this time to be able to, you know, get a big paper view here in the United States, but Go go to brunch. Get some emotions like how do you celebrate this? A 10 A.m. party. Win or lose. McGregor's gonna party fucking needs to right now. You go out all day and all night you get a concussion and then you go party. It's not technically we're being knocked out is well, I don't know, but I've never been knocked out. Thankfully, but my guess is you know if your whiskey company is not during the fight, you probably have an ample supply. They're at your disposal, but You go out here, you celebrate. Hey, You know what? Maybe maybe we were. This will set the stage for the third fight. Which I think actually would be something that I think all of us would want to see right. I want to see the third fighting this tree. You want to see a trilogy trilogy between these two Absolutely. I love that He left the door open for that, too, and then talked about a few beads. Not going to return that this was a title fight because you had ended quickly. But that was a result that Not to be able to even out the serious between the two of them. That first matchup happening in 2014 and all these years later, Dustin Pori against the best of Connor McGregor Fight Island. You got to see a third one right? I mean, I feel like that's a given to be able to figure out who the true champion is between the two of them, But that's it. That's a wrap from UFC 2 57 Dustin, the diamond poor EA. The winner of UFC 2 57 in two round knockout of Connor McGregor. So really quick here, J D. I've got my picks for championship weekend. I want to hear yours and going Packers 27 21 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buffalo Bills. You're going to Super Bowl 31 31 28 over the chief. He got circling the wagons for the buffalo bills. I got the Packers. Certainly over the bucks..

"We've been keeping up with this. As the fight began just after 12:30 A.m. eastern time when both fighters touch gloves and There's a whole lot of discourse about how quickly Connor McGregor was going to be able to take down Dustin Portier in the rematch between the two fighters, and that certainly was not the case whatsoever. A flurry of punches. Is Connor McGregor was backed into a corner in the Octagon. He started a fight with a ton of kicks to the CAF in leg and you know, at some point cameras could pick up Connor McGregor telling his trainer that he could barely stand and then Dustin poor EA knocked him down and pummeled him. Into a knockout. Who I am not a huge mm, a person. Admittedly, JD, but watching something like that. That That's exciting. That is not what I think. A lot of people are expecting. As we were talking with Doug Kazarian, ESPN Sports Wagering analyst earlier this evening. The McGregor was the heavy favorite. And for good reason. Did you see the way he showed up? Did you see him in the Irish flag? Did you see what his body looked like? And then something like that happens. That is remarkable. It also shows you to that. You could have all the pomp and circumstance that you wanted. You could be winning a fight. His counter. McGregor was at that point if you get hit with wrong punch at the wrong time, and the wrong place That's over. I mean, man that shot that McGregor took between the eyes. That knocked him down. That was really the knockout punch. And now obviously in Korea got top women hitting a couple more times, but That was it and he's done. I have so many questions, Courtney Because, you know, we went into tonight with the assumption that McGregor was gonna win, and then we're asking questions like Who's he gonna fight? Next? What happens after that? Now the question is, Is he gonna fight again? And is this good for the UFC? Potentially the superstar who just came back might be going on hiatus again this time and maybe even permanently. Yeah, There are. There's Stay off Twitter. If you don't want to see people being mean to Connor McGregor right now, and it's actually kind of funny. I mean, just, you know, Now it's always washed. He's going to go, you know, sell his whisky somewhere in go into retirement as you and I have talked about. No, it's hard for these fighters when they say they're going to retire like Habib did last year. Obviously, at the end, you know the death of his father factored into that. And you know, with tonight, you know, Dana White was kind of hedging his bets a little bit that if there was some soup, stupendous performance or whatever he was quoted saying that that could convince be To come back and fight again. But This is I mean, it's hard to believe someone like Connor McGregor. Would be done after something like this, given how long it had been since he stepped into the Octagon again. But I don't know. I mean, Dustin Pori. Clearly, you know one of the stars of this sport and where his trajectory goes from here, given how much hype was spent around UFC 2 57 promoting it in getting this fight to happen. You could be the new king of the sport. Maybe a man. Maybe this is proves to MacGregor that he's gotta fight more often. Now. I mean, he's three and three in his last six fights, Courtney that's not That's not great. Here. Um, you know, he certainly What? We had 1 15 straight on before that He kind of went on this little slide, So maybe he just realizes he's got it. He's got to fight more often. Maybe that's the answer is opposed to all these brakes. All right. We're gonna go now and hear some sound with Dustin Portier. This is his interview of following the two round knockout of Connor McGregor, UFC 2 57. In a career full of signature wins. None bigger than this one. As you get your revenge against Connor McGregor. Congratulations. Epic performance. You've got to be on cloud nine.
