"More from now. Jason williams is going to be on this show. and jason's beat is usually politics but five years ago he was all over the big twelve expansion thing that never happened. He's written a piece about uc's leadership and how it has the school poised to make a leap. Where two when will that happen. No idea but jason. We'll talk about that coming up in one hour plus tony pike from paul brown stadium. And we'll update you on the brewers and cubs as well. I get i get a lot of emails all right. I get a lot of emails every single day. And sometimes you know it's like hey moe cincinnati ranks on the top five in peanut butter consumption. Do you want to have somebody on no. I don't want to do that or we had the guy last week. Who called in and they done a survey a bengals fans drink more than anybody in the nfl. Okay that's kind of cool do that or then it'd be like you know. We made fun of the one email. It's national pork rinds. Month you want to have somebody no. We don't wanna do that many of these emails. I ignore most of them have nothing to do with our show. But i got one this morning from. Somebody named kristen herald with clever. Which is i guess. A real estate data company and she got right to the point. She didn't sugarcoat it. She wrote hi mojo. It's hard to be a sports fan in cincinnati. We've just released new data that found that cincinnati is the worst sports city in america. Worst not next to last not in the bottom worst sports city in the country. I had to get kristen on to talk about this. She's here now worst. Have you been cincinnati. I have. I came asking january twenty twenty and stayed right by the stadium. All right so you've been here right. You've been january so in january twenty one. The bengals weren't playing because that never happens january and the reds it was the off season so didn't exactly get a chance to enjoy cincinnati sports in full bloom in january. No i did not. I was there for a wedding but You know it was a great area okay. Is it a good wedding. Town was yeah so and the reception was actually authored stadium. Oh lord so. That's pretty good. If you've been in the ballpark not bad. I tell us why clever has reached the conclusion that our city which we love so much is the worst sports city in the country so we took a lot of factored into consideration when creating our ratings You know such as average win race across all the teams in the city and cincinnati has the third. Worst win race. It's just it's just ahead of jacksonville and detroit which you know not super successful teams And then total number of championships won by all team since two thousand And you know. Cincinnati teams have not wanted to be different two thousand or they haven't even lost the championship. Thousand we haven't come close to losing championship go ahead continue and then total attendance per game stadium's capacity and That's only sixty four percents actually the lowest attendance across all forty two cities with teams. Just depress me. What else And then You know just number of teams so You know there's to some of the star top fifteen. There are some cities with just one team such as green bay salt lake city. But you know there are such as you know new york with nineteen year top fifteen so that was a factor not a big factor but the biggest backers were the win rate The championship Attendance i'm also price to attend a game So ticket hotdog beer. Parking and cincinnati is isn't cute badly rinks for that about eighty dollars Which ranks in the talk fast. So it's affordable to attend games. I was gonna say like you buy like a fourteen dollar reds ticket. Bengals tickets on average are always among the lowest in the nfl. So i mean you know. We're not. We're not exactly like squeezing people for four or five hundred bucks a piece to come watch our teams play. This isn't vegas where like the football team there if you want to sit in the upper decks like two hundred eighty bucks. We'll do that here. We don't do that here. Kristen exactly and I believe they're the third most reportable. take it. I think they're just behind check. Sandy are just ahead of san diego in memphis at eighty dollars and compared to for example. Green bay one hundred ninety three dollars. So you're gonna tell me that. Salt lake city is a better sports city then cincinnati. Yeah they have more success. So that's something you have like are raking recent six. So they haven't won a championship but they won. You know cincinnati's win rate is thirty. Six percent Salt lake is sixty five percent. I was gonna say you should include our major league soccer team. But they're not good either. I know so we. We decided to just do the four major sports nhl nba nfl. And i'll be And another thing. I felt like is they actually have the past three seasons or sorry in twenty nineteen so we did capacity in twenty nineteen obviously because twenty. Twenty is a little weird year with capacity. I one hundred percents average capacity salt lake city columbus ranked columbus day capital. It's all well and good. We tend to look down our noses. Columbus columbus has a hockey team. And i'm a fan of that hockey team. But know haven't exactly been hoisting stanley cups and you're not including college sports. How was how was columbus. A better sports town in cincinnati bell columbus the big word so forth ahead matty. I'm say their three or city But i think that goes down to you. Know they have a slightly higher win record and they're pending is much higher a huckabee. You don't include college sports. We have a big big college sports town. We have great college basketball. We've got a top ten college football team. That's going to draw really well. This year hachem no college sports. Were involved things on you know with. We wanted to focus with professional football season starting soon baseball season's ending you know hockey. Nba starting soon so we wanted to focus on professional out doing college. So maybe in the future cincinnati will not be ranked bottom in sports are three and a half games out of the last wildcard. Are you aware of that. I am yeah. They're very close. And i think we've only five and a half games behind the brewers. Oh are good. You know if we do this study again in a couple of years. Maybe they'll be top fifteen singles. Have a joe borough the soon to be faced with the nfl. That should change things for you can stay healthy. Wow all right very good thank you. We have a duke. Reagan won a silver medal in the olympics and jordan thompson was the best player in the gold medal. Us women's volleyball team. This should matt count for something. I just one of those could only narrow a fourth sports or would have taken us ages. The analysis is this the sort of because now your image real estate survey trying to sell houses. Do you find that people don't want to move to cincinnati because the sports teams according to your survey are awful necessarily. I think you know there's a lot that goes into it. For example our top three or top five. Are boston. Los angeles new york denver philadelphia always the top four. They're all very expensive places to right something. Keep in la. Have you been los angeles. I have so. I mean the dodgers. They get to the game and like the fourth inning. They leave in the seventh. I was watching on youtube. They were throwing garbage cans on the field when the astros candidate..

"Richard killing. Welcome to the show. Okay thanks for having me on. So you've written a few books about a world war two call a squad part of the one. Oh one The called the filthy thirteen became to be known as that for big picture. Get into the story. It's really remarkable. Who were the filthy thirteen like. What was their objective and mission during world war two and then how did you discover the story of the these guys well. The filthy thirteen was actually a demolition section. There was three demolition sections in the demolition platoon of the regimental headquarters company of the five. Oh six bear chewed infantry regiment. Which the band of brothers was easy company. 506 inside one hundred first airborne vision and jake macneice was appointed as the section sergeant. Okay in a section included to six men spots and so that's thirteen guys and their mission but primary mission is anything that has to do with blowing stuff up. Okay that would be like a bridge mission or whatever but in the event that they don't have a demolition mission. They were pretty much security around the regimental headquarters. Colonels inc's headquarters okay and so. There were two bridge missions during the world war. Two that the five. Oh six had responsibility for the first one was at the bridget. Revenge over the dove canal just outside it cuts off the any retreat or attack from carrington and the other one was the market guard. And and how. How i came to know about these guys. Well actually i. I heard about the filthy thirteen. While i was in special forces in the army and it was a friend that told me about it and i just plug it in the back of my mind until galileo army and i moved back home though funk city oklahoma and lo and behold the leader that unit lived his by mail so i got to know it. All right He was just a prolific storyteller. All right so. Let's talk about jake. He's like the main character of this first book. He became known as mcnasty and during his time with the filthy thirteen before he joined up. Volunteered as a paratrooper. what was he like as a kid. I mean did you see glimpses of the the man who would become known as mcnasty in a teenage. Jake macneice yeah okay. The teenage years is where. I would say i started before that is parents were sharecroppers and actually successful share we tend to think of sharecroppers poor no his father was doing very well had bought a house when the depression yet in any law of course they lost everything and the kids had to go to work so jake had to grow up fast and young all right so all. The kids worked until they pretty much graduated from high school. He had two older brothers. I think went in to college so jay when he was in a jake was a superb athlete. If when you you look at the book warpaint. I've got pictures of him. Stripped down to just the short going through the obstacle course. The guy is solid muscle. And when i saw his i read his discharge. He weighed one. Hundred seventy five pounds. And i think-i stood five seven a solid muscle. There's no fat guys cop so but a tremendous athlete both wrestling and football. And i guess he had played A little bit familiar gotten to the ninth grade. And he's he's going to drop out of school so he can work full time to support the family and oklahoma back in and there's a few places now high school. Football is semi pro. Gay and hongkou. Stadium it's rivaled town blackwell both in the same county. They had professional football. The because they the coaches went out to these smaller towns and recruited athletes either offering the athlete a job or offering their parents a job and a and say blackwell ponca city because blackwell had a I think a still refinery steel mill and ponca city had continental oil company. And so the coach said look. We'll get you job with the fire department said you play full-time annual work at the fire department. Pretty much lived there and when he joined the fire department. It's like the majority of the fire department were high school football players so anyway very responsible and but tough he a fighter as serious scrapper but when i got to know people he was admired folks i think they. They elected him as high school. His senior class president he went he went to school. Wherein like Which hall coveralls or like a bib coveralls and So everybody else started wearing a church know aside from his drinking and fighting and fooling around with loose women he admired because no 'cause when it got back from the war any gives that up and he becomes a born again christian. A lot of people said he changed. And from everything. I was here and i said no there was no change. Said once you strip those three vices from him you got down to the real jake macneice. He's really a good guy he did. The fights got in with bullies with people are starting fights with him but he would defend other people but the story that when i ate the narration actually minor asian which leads into jake story begins with a football game in which it's they're playing for blooded it blackwell had beat them the last time so this is a rival regain army navy. There's they're zero. Score and jake is a problem solver. And i love that story. Every everybody from who was in high school remembers that one play and jake is because he's the team captain but he's alignment and he's just remember. I've seven at that time. He probably was awaiting hundred seventy five pounds. But the.

"Am the board president of the punk a playhouse. I'm also the producer for our most recent production of the sound of music and the conductor in the orchestra pit. My heart wants to sing every song it hears. The punk of Playhouse launched a 62nd season earlier this month. With an in person audience more on that in a moment, Chad Anderson says the theatre is an important part of the community. If you're in Ponca City, it's likely that you are either a farmer or you work for Kanako Phillips, which has a plant on the outskirts of town. The people that assemble to produce shows. Are not professional performers, professional technicians, designers there just members of the community who love theater and boy they were disappointed this spring when the punker playoffs had to suspend its season. Their production of the sound of music went so long Farewell auf either saying goodbye. But as the months rolled on Ponca City and the surrounding area had relatively few cases of cove. It And that gave hope to chat Andersen and his team. We felt like there might be a way we could do this safely responsibly, people would would still want to come. Actors would feel safe. We decided that it was worth the calculated risk our rehearsals, they contain precautions. Normally we're in a small black box theater, but we went back to the old theatre that we used to perform in. It's a large 800 seat, Historical theater and Our stage manager disinfected the theatre every night. He was very, very good and very, very diligent about arranging the temperature checks and encouraging people to keep distant from each other. A total of about 35 to 40 people were involved. They were rarely ever there. At the same time. Up until dress rehearsal. The actors would come in spurts. The director was very good about on Ly calling the Von Trapp kids or on ly calling the nuns on stage. There was less contact. Then you might see Ralph and weasels still danced together. We had plenty of hand sanitizer on hand spreading those nuns out.

"Take it. They can't handle it. They can't admit the truth. Simple, basic, fundamental truth about how wrong they all. Were. That's the headline. They don't want to admit the truth. They're losing it the entire Democratic Party media mob. You know, they're willing accomplices in the media, the mob, the Democratic Party extreme radical socialist mob their best friends in the world the extension of all things extreme radical socialist. Democrats none of them couldn't admit that. They have been telling and advancing lies for two plus years conspiracy theory. Series a hoax and the whole narrative is now whether they'll ever admitted or not probably never it's dead. The attorney general of the United States of America put this to rest completely last night yesterday in his testimony. And by the way, rightly you know, it's never happened before. And it's pretty amazing that they thought this was going to work. Well, we're tell you what we're gonna do. We're going to weigh in a send on lawyers in. That's what we'll do. We'll send our lawyers in because oh, let's see because we're too dumb to ask the questions ourselves, you know, when the two hundred and six year history of Nadler's committee by same Nadler didn't want the Ken Starr report ever released that Jerry Nadler mazing how what a transformation has taken place. After such Ponca city that in the two hundred six year history of that committee staff have never ever questioned witnesses in an oversight hearing, nobody's not recognizing Congress's constitutional role oversight. And as a check and balance, you know, believe in the constitution rule of law Coequal branches of government, what they wanted to do is remove themselves from the questioning of the attorney general and they wanted to insert their lawyers, and that is never happened in the two hundred six year history of this committee, not a single time. And then say that chairman Nadler's demands are unprecedented. All that would all be a huge massive understatement. And it just is amazing. The re. Reaction that we're getting from the democrat. They can't handle the bar said, no, he's not going there. You want to ask him what he can they can have their lawyers. This is their problem. They got five minutes. That's all they get each members of five minutes question to witness a lot of a lot of members up there a lot of time for a particular witness on any particular case member she'll have the right member. So they're going to change that today as if that makes it okay and change a two hundred six year history just to benefit them. And you know, the real reason is as we saw yesterday the attorney general's too smart for them is is somebody that is not as first rodeo. This is a guy that literally blew the doors. All all I mean all of them yesterday. Hillary sat there at times hold on his head up saying, hey, does is body language thing. This is so stupid you pay them. You people don't understand. You know, you can you can believe whatever you want, and he just answered with precision, simple, basic training knowledge. Understanding passion for the constitution and the rule of law. And that's what they don't like. That's why he's gotta be. He's gotta be. He's gotta be gotta be gotta be. Now, they want to impeach him. And you know, but don't worry. You know, the question is would they ever just take a time a moment to just reflect k what's the truth here? How did we get here? Okay. Is it possible that now we've had four separate occasions where this narrative of conspiring with the Russians for electoral, Linda Fearance? The irony of all of this is Devin newness warned everybody. This is not the first time the Russians done this via the way probably won't be the last. And this is what they do. They don't just do to us. They do it to every country. This is why they are a hostile regime to the United States. And by the way, there isn't way to beat back Putin, which by the way, I champion. I love my own idea. That's good because I'm smile on. And the answer is because he is a hostile actor. He this is a hostile regime. You know now trying to prop up the dictatorship in Venezuela. Cuba has twenty thousand troops. There the Iranians they're doing training. Then of course, you know, they fund Hezbollah, and of course, Hezbollah is even in Venezuela. You know, try. They don't care about the Venezuelan people. They be close to United States as humanly possible, and this should be one of the richest countries on earth with all their oil reserves. And unfortunately for the people it's one of the poorest because they're eating out of garbage cans. We have that video and Jorges romo's had the unmitigated gall of asking the dictator Madero look at this video of your people eating out of garbage cans at garbage trucks. Actually, it was. But there is a way to stop Russia. There is a way to defeat Russia and Reagan won the Cold War. And you know, what Reagan did Reagan built up our nation's defenses. Reagan was not swayed by Reykjavik when they demanded that we stop building up our military forces, and we discontinue the strategic defence sedition. By the media at the time is Star Wars, and he's going to start World War three. And when that summit ended in Reykjavik in Reagan said yet, no deal walked out came home and the media beat the crap out of him. Yes, what we continue with strategic defense, by the way, one modern example of strategic defense is the iron dome, which we help create that is being used pretty much every day in Israel and other this system I've been there twice now. And the first time I was there was during the last conflict and war. That's when I went into the tunnels. I went out with the idea forces. That's when I sat in on on briefings and meetings, and that's when I went to throat and the border city with Gaza went to the police station. That's when I saw all the rockets that had been fired over a ten year period. Eight is a short distance the city where people will not leave. It's there. Hometown their territory. I would ask why don't you leave you get with rockets ten thousand rockets ten years, and they say, this is our home and kids can't play outside because the distance is so short. They don't have enough time to get to a shelter. So they have underground playgrounds. Sadly in this town. I went there and the day before we got there. Oh, a Bush was hit with a with a rocket with every bit of shrapnel for human destruction. You can imagine glass. Bb steal metal anything to destroy. And that's what that city faces every day. You wanna beat Russia? I have an idea. I know how to do it. Russia's economy is based on one thing energy. Now, we have more than they have we have the single largest oil and gas reserves natural gas reserves in the entire world. In other words, the things that the new. Green deal would eliminate in ten years. Not only remember when when Merckel making how stupid of her the lifeblood of every conomy is energy and to allow a hostile actor like Putin, full complete control and power over your conomy. And all has to do is turn off the spigot. And you're done your economy goes right down the tubes. Which by the way is pretty much the situation in Europe. Anyway, you know, where at three point two percent GDP growth, even during a government shutdown and they're at zero point two percent. I mean, it's pathetic. The what's going on around the world where growing we're making trade deals are are commies vibrant, factories of being Bill manufacturing centers of being built the president's ended. Burdensome regulation for business. He asked businesses. What is the government doing hurt you? Okay. I'll fix that. Okay. What's the why would you want to build the Mexico? No, no, no, no. You do that. I'm going. Put a tariff on your products, and they built factories in Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania and in Ohio and Michigan. You know? So funny, Biden can only get like a thousand people to show up at this. Second rally was at. But I am telling you look at Pennsylvania Juno. They have jobs seminars. Imprison now in Pennsylvania. You wanna know why they don't have enough workers? And they're asking prison when you get out because we want to hire you. I this could look crazy Joe, you know, Mr. blue-collar because you're a Konami suck compared to the economy. We have now a lot better off and the fake fraud. News media won't say it, but the president just scored a massive strategic victory over Russia. Did it without firing shop because imports of US natural gas to the European Union climbed three hundred percent since twenty sixteen. The bulk of the increase coming after Trump met with European visuals in two thousand seventeen and negotiated. A new trade deal, we expect a new trade deal with China any day. All of which is good for the forgotten men and women the people that make this country. Great. Remember, the EU made the announcement. They did it, you know, ahead of the meeting between US and business leaders in Brussels on ways to increase natural gas trade. Well, guess what we're eating right into the heart and soul of Putin's market. I mean, Trump has lobbied intensely for these European countries to shift their energy imports from Russia to the US. Now that's great for America. Because as I've been telling people for years on this program, you wanna make America.
